Transcript
- 0:04Speaker 1: Hello, friends from across the nation and around the world.
- 0:08Speaker 1: I'm Martin, and you are listening to Dad's Bedtime Stories.
- 0:14Speaker 1: And this time, we'll be headed back into the spaceship universe.
- 0:19Speaker 1: Because that's what I feel like doing. And I got
- 0:22Speaker 1: some cool suggestions for it. Specifically this one.
- 0:27Speaker 2: Hello, my name is River. I'm from Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.
- 0:33Speaker 2: And I would like a story for the spaceship series
- 0:37Speaker 2: where you could go to a planet that's like filled
- 0:43Speaker 2: with like movie things and you find a popcorn dog.
- 0:48Speaker 2: So and the popcorn dog becomes your best friend and
- 0:54Speaker 2: you have a blast. Thanks.
- 0:58Speaker 1: River, that is an excellent idea. And somehow, when it
- 1:01Speaker 1: got into my mind, the story-making machine, and I was
- 1:06Speaker 1: storyboarding it, I decided it was kind of like a
- 1:10Speaker 1: broken-down movie theater planet with abandoned things and food and
- 1:17Speaker 1: all that sort of stuff, including a popcorn dog, of course,
- 1:21Speaker 1: because that seemed key to your message. Now, if you
- 1:25Speaker 1: like the podcast, please don't forget to rate us and
- 1:28Speaker 1: review us wherever it is you're listening. Share it with
- 1:32Speaker 1: a friend. Join us on Patreon, where you can get
- 1:36Speaker 1: ad-free episodes and any bonus content I work on. And
- 1:41Speaker 1: I work on some different things sometimes. Right now, I'm
- 1:46Speaker 1: obsessed with making graphic novel versions of some of my
- 1:51Speaker 1: favorite series. I'm almost done with the first Cards of Power, but, well,
- 1:58Speaker 1: making sure the pictures are consistent is harder than I
- 2:02Speaker 1: thought it was. And, more exciting than that, I teased
- 2:06Speaker 1: to a lot of you that I'd been working on
- 2:08Speaker 1: a Wizardcraft game, and last night I decided to post
- 2:12Speaker 1: it on Patreon, or the link to it, along with
- 2:16Speaker 1: the password to try it out, and I'll be updating
- 2:19Speaker 1: it in the next couple weeks as we go but
- 2:24Speaker 1: yeah you can be a wizard with golems and special
- 2:30Speaker 1: powers and mining and crafting and running a little village
- 2:35Speaker 1: all in kind of a retro adventure but it's honestly
- 2:39Speaker 1: pretty cool I don't know I had a lot of
- 2:42Speaker 1: fun making it and I'm having a lot of fun
- 2:44Speaker 1: playing it and if you want to test it out
- 2:46Speaker 1: too you can do that if you're a Patreon member
- 2:49Speaker 1: and then send me feedback I appreciate that. Maybe one
- 2:54Speaker 1: day I will package it and sell it on different
- 2:56Speaker 1: platforms or something, but I don't know at this point
- 2:59Speaker 1: because I've never... Actually, I've not never made a game before.
- 3:02Speaker 1: I have actually made games before, but this is the
- 3:05Speaker 1: first one of this size and extent that I've made. Anyways,
- 3:10Speaker 1: enough about that. Time to get on with our story
- 3:14Speaker 1: after a possible word from a possible sponsor. Get as
- 3:20Speaker 1: comfy as you can in that bed, close your eyes,
- 3:24Speaker 1: and imagine yourself doing what the kid in the story does.
- 3:31Speaker 1: You find yourself relaxing on spaceship, sitting on your favorite couch,
- 3:38Speaker 1: looking out through the enormous front window with all the
- 3:44Speaker 1: little stars stretching across the galaxy. Changer, your shape-shifting dog,
- 3:51Speaker 1: is curled up at your feet in his favorite form,
- 3:55Speaker 1: a fluffy little earth puppy. His paws seem to be
- 4:01Speaker 1: twitching a little bit, as if he's dreaming. You wonder
- 4:05Speaker 1: what he's dreaming about. Chasing squirrels or something? Incoming transmission. Oh,
- 4:14Speaker 1: this looks very interesting. Spaceship says. A colorful advertisement appears
- 4:21Speaker 1: across the front screen. Welcome to Movie Planet. A cheerful
- 4:28Speaker 1: voice begins speaking. Do you love movies? Do you love adventures?
- 4:35Speaker 1: Then come visit the greatest movie experience in the entire galaxy.
- 4:41Speaker 1: The screen shows an enormous planet covered in theaters and
- 4:46Speaker 1: roller coasters and restaurants and gigantic movie screens. Experience your
- 4:53Speaker 1: favorite movies in spectacular 2D, incredible 3D, or step right
- 5:01Speaker 1: inside the action with our amazing 4D immersion adventures. The
- 5:08Speaker 1: advertisement shows a family walking into a movie screen and Well,
- 5:14Speaker 1: suddenly finding themselves standing beside a friendly dinosaur. Another family
- 5:21Speaker 1: flies through space alongside a superhero. And another group rides
- 5:28Speaker 1: a pirate ship across a stormy ocean. Whoa, this looks amazing,
- 5:36Speaker 1: you say. It certainly does, spaceship replies. Apparently, they can
- 5:43Speaker 1: recreate almost any movie ever made. Would you like to visit? Absolutely,
- 5:50Speaker 1: I would. Changer wakes up at the sound of your
- 5:54Speaker 1: excitement and gives a cheerful bark. Looks like Changer wants
- 5:59Speaker 1: to come too. You settle back in your seat as
- 6:04Speaker 1: Spaceship changes direction and jumps to super hyperdrive. Next stop,
- 6:12Speaker 1: the movies. Moments later, you emerge from your faster-than-light travel
- 6:20Speaker 1: beside a huge purple and blue planet. It looks magnificent
- 6:27Speaker 1: from here, but as you get closer, something starts to
- 6:31Speaker 1: feel wrong. Hmm, Spaceship says, this is strange. You lean forward.
- 6:41Speaker 1: What is? The advertisement showed a very busy planet, thousands
- 6:48Speaker 1: of visitors, bright lights, enormous celebrations, but my scanners are
- 6:54Speaker 1: only detecting a few life signs, some artificial, some biological,
- 7:02Speaker 1: sort of. You wonder what he means by sort of biological.
- 7:10Speaker 1: You approach the surface. Below you, enormous movie theaters rise
- 7:17Speaker 1: above sprawling entertainment parks. Giant advertisements still flash across rooftops,
- 7:26Speaker 1: though some of them are flickering. And everywhere you look,
- 7:31Speaker 1: things seem to be going wrong. A little crazy. One
- 7:37Speaker 1: enormous machine is launching popcorn into the air like a
- 7:42Speaker 1: volcano that won't stop. Another machine is spraying rivers of
- 7:47Speaker 1: bright purple slushy across the plaza. A nearby soda fountain,
- 7:54Speaker 1: like a literal fountain, is sending enormous streams of fizzy
- 7:59Speaker 1: orange pop hundreds of feet into the sky. You watch
- 8:05Speaker 1: a pepperoni pizza fly past your window. Did that pizza
- 8:11Speaker 1: just fly through the air, you ask? I believe so,
- 8:16Speaker 1: and judging by its trajectory, I believe it will land
- 8:20Speaker 1: in approximately three seconds. You watch it disappear behind a building.
- 8:31Speaker 1: This place looks weird. Maybe we should go check it out.
- 8:36Speaker 1: Spaceship lands beside an enormous theater, and the doors open.
- 8:42Speaker 1: Changer jumps outside, immediately sticking his nose in a pile
- 8:47Speaker 1: of popcorn. Don't eat that, you say. We have no
- 8:52Speaker 1: idea how long it's been sitting there. Changer looks up
- 8:56Speaker 1: at you with a piece of popcorn balanced on his nose.
- 9:00Speaker 1: He flips it up into the air. and eats it defiantly.
- 9:07Speaker 1: It's your funeral, buddy. Spaceship transforms into a smaller version
- 9:14Speaker 1: of himself and then floats beside you as you walk
- 9:18Speaker 1: around the planet, your boots crunching through a thick carpet
- 9:23Speaker 1: of popcorn. Above the entrance to the nearby movie theater,
- 9:31Speaker 1: an enormous sign reads, Movie Planet, where movies come alive.
- 9:38Speaker 1: Near the sign stands a strange-looking antenna. It stretches hundreds
- 9:44Speaker 1: of feet into the sky, covered in spinning dishes and
- 9:49Speaker 1: glowing receivers, except several of the dishes look kind of
- 9:55Speaker 1: bent and sparks are occasionally jumping out between lines. loose wires. Spaceship,
- 10:03Speaker 1: what's that thing, you ask? Interesting, this appears to be
- 10:09Speaker 1: the planet's central entertainment receiver. My scans indicate that it
- 10:15Speaker 1: collects movie transmissions from thousands of planets across the galaxy.
- 10:22Speaker 1: What does it do with them? Well, it intercepts the
- 10:27Speaker 1: movies and recreates them here, sometimes on ordinary screens, sometimes
- 10:34Speaker 1: as interactive adventures, and sometimes it actually builds robotic versions
- 10:42Speaker 1: of the movie characters.
- 10:44Speaker 2: Cool.
- 10:46Speaker 1: Very cool. Spaceship agrees, but the system appears badly damaged
- 10:53Speaker 1: and nobody is maintaining it. A beam of blue light
- 10:58Speaker 1: extends from spaceship toward a nearby computer terminal. Allow me
- 11:03Speaker 1: to investigate. After a moment, he continues. Ah, I believe
- 11:10Speaker 1: I have found the historical records. Movie Planet was once
- 11:16Speaker 1: one of the most popular entertainment destinations in this region
- 11:21Speaker 1: of the galaxy. Millions of visitors traveled here every year.
- 11:27Speaker 1: So what happened, you ask? Personal immersion technology became popular.
- 11:35Speaker 1: People invented small devices that allowed them to experience entire
- 11:41Speaker 1: artificial worlds without leaving their home. Eventually, nobody needed enormous
- 11:48Speaker 1: movie theaters or entertainment planets any longer. So everyone just
- 11:54Speaker 1: stopped coming? Unfortunately, yes. It seems that the inhabitants who
- 12:01Speaker 1: previously came here stopped going almost anywhere. They now prefer
- 12:08Speaker 1: to sit inside their homes, immersed in virtual realities. The
- 12:15Speaker 1: planet was abandoned. Without maintenance, the machines began breaking down
- 12:21Speaker 1: and their programming started getting mixed up. You look around
- 12:27Speaker 1: at the abandoned attractions. That's kind of sad. It is,
- 12:33Speaker 1: Spaceship replies. But the good news is that most of
- 12:37Speaker 1: the equipment is still operating. Perhaps we can enjoy some
- 12:42Speaker 1: of the attractions. You grin. Well then, let's explore. You
- 12:50Speaker 1: enter the enormous movie theater. Inside, dozens of screens stretch
- 12:57Speaker 1: along a hallway. Some show alien adventures while others display
- 13:03Speaker 1: movies you recognize from Earth. On one screen, dinosaurs are
- 13:08Speaker 1: stomping through a jungle. On another, a superhero soars between
- 13:14Speaker 1: skyscrapers A third shows cartoon animals riding a bright yellow
- 13:20Speaker 1: submarine and singing some sort of song. Hey, some of
- 13:26Speaker 1: these are Earth movies, you say? Of course, Spaceship replies.
- 13:32Speaker 1: Earth has been broadcasting entertainment into space for quite some time.
- 13:39Speaker 1: Changer watches the dinosaur screen with enormous interest. A Tyrannosaurus roars.
- 13:47Speaker 1: Changer gives a tiny bark back. Yes, Changer, very scary,
- 13:53Speaker 1: you say? You continue past the regular 2D theaters, then
- 14:00Speaker 1: the 3D theaters with their enormous floating holographic pictures. Eventually,
- 14:06Speaker 1: you reach an enormous doorway marked 4D Immersion Adventures. Become
- 14:13Speaker 1: part of the movie. I mean, 4D doesn't really mean that.
- 14:19Speaker 1: It's still technically three dimensions, but you understand what they're
- 14:24Speaker 1: trying to get across. This is gonna be good, you say,
- 14:30Speaker 1: and you step through. Inside, you find an entire artificial city.
- 14:37Speaker 1: Buildings stretch overhead, streets wind between them. and a glowing
- 14:44Speaker 1: artificial sky hangs above everything. Suddenly you hear shouting, Look out!
- 14:53Speaker 1: A large silver robot charges around the corner, firing bright
- 14:58Speaker 1: red energy beams. You dive behind what looks like a
- 15:03Speaker 1: parked hover car or something. Spaceship, what's happening? Apparently you've
- 15:10Speaker 1: entered an action movie. Another robot appears, swinging a giant
- 15:16Speaker 1: metal fist. Well, I guess we better play along then.
- 15:22Speaker 1: You tap your watch. Instantly, your space armor unfolds around
- 15:28Speaker 1: your body. Glowing sections of protective metal cover your arms, legs,
- 15:34Speaker 1: and chest, and your helmet forms around your head. You
- 15:40Speaker 1: activate your jet boots and rocket into the air. The
- 15:45Speaker 1: robot lunges toward you. You dodge, spin around, and then
- 15:51Speaker 1: blast it with a pulse of energy from your right wrist.
- 15:56Speaker 1: With a boom, the robot crashes backward into a wall. Changer,
- 16:03Speaker 1: a little help? You call. Changer transforms. his little puppy
- 16:10Speaker 1: body expands into an enormous bear-like creature with thick, rocky
- 16:16Speaker 1: armor covering his shoulders and two gigantic boulders for hands. Whoa!
- 16:24Speaker 1: Changer charges, and with a crash, one robot goes flying
- 16:30Speaker 1: and smashes into another. Then you hear another voice say, RANGERS, TRANSFORM!
- 16:41Speaker 1: You look over to see five colorful characters leaping from
- 16:46Speaker 1: a nearby rooftop, each wearing a special wristwatch, kind of
- 16:51Speaker 1: like yours. They press the watches simultaneously, do a very
- 16:59Speaker 1: strange and obviously rehearsed dance, and brilliant flashes of light
- 17:05Speaker 1: surround their bodies. Suddenly, they're wearing colorful battle armor. The
- 17:13Speaker 1: red ranger performs a flying kick. The blue one spins
- 17:18Speaker 1: through the air. The green ranger sweeps a robot off
- 17:22Speaker 1: its feet. And together, they move with incredible ninja-like speed,
- 17:30Speaker 1: dodging and striking the remaining enemy robots. With your armor
- 17:35Speaker 1: and Changer's tremendous strength, the battle ends surprisingly quickly. The
- 17:42Speaker 1: last robot crashes to the ground. Silence falls over the city.
- 17:49Speaker 1: The five rangers look around in amazement. Then, the red
- 17:55Speaker 1: ranger approaches you. That was incredible. Are you, like, a
- 18:01Speaker 1: new battle ranger? You look down at your armor. Eh,
- 18:08Speaker 1: not exactly. I'm just visiting. The Blue Ranger points toward Changer.
- 18:15Speaker 1: And what kind of battle creature is that? Changer raises
- 18:20Speaker 1: his enormous, bolder hands proudly and kind of shrugs. That's
- 18:26Speaker 1: just my dog, you explain. The Rangers stare at him.
- 18:32Speaker 1: We've been battling those evil robots for years, the Red
- 18:37Speaker 1: Ranger says. Every day the same thing, basically, but we've
- 18:43Speaker 1: never managed to completely defeat them. Years? you repeat. Spaceship
- 18:51Speaker 1: speaks quietly through your helmet. I believe I understand. These
- 18:57Speaker 1: are entertainment robots, too. THEY WERE PROGRAMMED TO BATTLE EACH
- 19:03Speaker 1: OTHER WITHOUT CAUSING PERMANENT DAMAGE. THE FIGHTING WAS SUPPOSED TO
- 19:08Speaker 1: RESET FOR THE NEXT GROUP OF VISITORS. YOU GLANCE AT
- 19:13Speaker 1: THE ENORMOUS PILES OF BROKEN ROBOTS, AND CHANGER WELL BROKE,
- 19:21Speaker 1: AND YOU COME TO A REALIZATION. OOPS, SPACESHIP CONTINUES. Technically,
- 19:31Speaker 1: I do not believe you were supposed to actually destroy them. Yeah,
- 19:37Speaker 1: I'm getting that impression, you say. Eh, nothing we can
- 19:42Speaker 1: do now. Changer shrinks back to his familiar fluffy puppy
- 19:47Speaker 1: form and trots happily to your side. The rangers don't
- 19:51Speaker 1: seem upset. In fact, they're celebrating. You saved the city,
- 19:58Speaker 1: the red ranger announces. Well, you say, glad we could help.
- 20:04Speaker 1: You wave goodbye and head back toward the entrance. leaving
- 20:09Speaker 1: the rangers cheering behind you. As you step outside, a
- 20:15Speaker 1: wonderful smell drifts through the air. Popcorn. Warm popcorn. Fresh popcorn.
- 20:26Speaker 1: And something that smells sweet. Suspiciously like strawberry slushy. Your
- 20:35Speaker 1: stomach begins to rumble. Ah, Spaceship, I think it might
- 20:40Speaker 1: be time for a snack. An excellent idea. Although, judging
- 20:46Speaker 1: by my scanners, the snack area might be the strangest
- 20:51Speaker 1: part of the entire planet. You look down at Changer.
- 20:57Speaker 1: He wags his tail. Well, I've probably seen stranger. You respond.
- 21:04Speaker 1: You follow the delicious smells through another enormous doorway until
- 21:10Speaker 1: you find yourself inside what might be the biggest food
- 21:15Speaker 1: court in the entire universe. Whoa, you exclaim. Hundreds of
- 21:23Speaker 1: restaurants stretch out in every direction. There are pizza stands,
- 21:28Speaker 1: candy shops, popcorn machines, ice cream counters... and gigantic fountains
- 21:34Speaker 1: spraying every flavor of soda you can imagine. Unfortunately, none
- 21:40Speaker 1: of them seem to be working properly. One popcorn machine
- 21:46Speaker 1: is producing so much popcorn that an enormous mountain is
- 21:50Speaker 1: formed beneath it. Another machine is shooting pizzas across the
- 21:55Speaker 1: room like flying frisbees. You duck as a pepperoni pizza
- 22:01Speaker 1: sails over your head and splatters against a wall. A
- 22:05Speaker 1: nearby slushie machine is pouring bright blue slushie into an
- 22:10Speaker 1: enormous puddle that now stretches across the floor and out
- 22:15Speaker 1: the door. Spaceship, can we actually eat any of this stuff? Scanning,
- 22:23Speaker 1: Spaceship replies, a blue light sweeps across the food cord.
- 22:29Speaker 1: Good news! The food replicators are still producing perfectly edible food. However,
- 22:37Speaker 1: I would recommend eating something freshly created rather than anything
- 22:42Speaker 1: that has been sitting here for possibly years. Good idea.
- 22:49Speaker 1: You walk over to the pizza machine. A fresh pizza
- 22:53Speaker 1: slice slides onto a tray. You pick it up and
- 22:57Speaker 1: take a bite. It's Actually really good. Changer sits beside
- 23:05Speaker 1: you and starts wagging his tail, so you tear off
- 23:08Speaker 1: a piece and, well, hand it to him. He gobbles
- 23:12Speaker 1: it up immediately. Next, you try some freshly made popcorn,
- 23:17Speaker 1: a little bit of candy. Then you grab a cup and, well,
- 23:23Speaker 1: you stick it under the strawberry slushy dispenser. It doesn't
- 23:28Speaker 1: take long before it's half full. It's all rather delicious.
- 23:36Speaker 1: You look around at the terrible mess as you eat,
- 23:41Speaker 1: and something seems to catch Changer's attention. His ears perk up,
- 23:48Speaker 1: and he begins to sniff around the place. He makes
- 23:53Speaker 1: his way over to the enormous popcorn mountain following his nose.
- 23:59Speaker 1: Something in the mountain begins to stir. You think there's
- 24:05Speaker 1: something there, buddy? You ask. Spaceship nods and barks. And then,
- 24:13Speaker 1: with a poof, popcorn flies everywhere. Something small tumbles out
- 24:20Speaker 1: of the pile and lands directly in front of you.
- 24:24Speaker 1: You stare. It's... a dog.
- 24:28Speaker 2: A dog?
- 24:29Speaker 1: But not an ordinary dog. It's, well, it's a little
- 24:34Speaker 1: dog that's made entirely out of popcorn. Its body is
- 24:40Speaker 1: covered in fluffy white popped kernels. Its ears look like
- 24:46Speaker 1: two enormous pieces of popcorn, and its tail is a
- 24:50Speaker 1: long curly collection of popcorn that wiggles back and forth.
- 24:56Speaker 1: It even has a little round nose and two bright,
- 24:59Speaker 1: friendly eyes. The popcorn dog looks up at you. As
- 25:06Speaker 1: it barks, a single popcorn kernel pops off the top
- 25:11Speaker 1: of its head. What? What are you? Spaceship, is this
- 25:17Speaker 1: a robot too? Spaceship scans the little creature. Fascinating. No.
- 25:24Speaker 2: No.
- 25:25Speaker 1: It appears to be something different. My scans indicate that
- 25:31Speaker 1: the damaged entertainment systems have somehow combined information from the
- 25:36Speaker 1: food replicators with characters' designs from the movies. So.
- 25:44Speaker 2: So.
- 25:44Speaker 1: The machines accidentally created a living popcorn creature. It seems
- 25:50Speaker 1: to be a spontaneous evolution of popcorn... designed to consume
- 25:55Speaker 1: the enormous quantities of leftover material. It actually answers the
- 26:01Speaker 1: question that I did not speak earlier as to why
- 26:07Speaker 1: the food had not completely taken over the area. You
- 26:12Speaker 1: look at the little popcorn dog. It picks up a
- 26:17Speaker 1: piece of popcorn from the floor and munches it happily.
- 26:20Speaker 1: Then another and another and another. Well, I guess that
- 26:26Speaker 1: explains it. Indeed, Spacer replies. Although, I should warn you
- 26:33Speaker 1: that other unusual creatures may have been created by similar accidents.
- 26:39Speaker 1: The planet's systems are rather badly crossed. You kneel down.
- 26:45Speaker 1: Hey there, little guy. The popcorn dog approaches cautiously. You
- 26:51Speaker 1: hold out your hand. He sniffs your fingers. Then, very gently,
- 26:58Speaker 1: he licks your hand. It feels like a tiny, warm
- 27:02Speaker 1: puff of popcorn brushing against your skin, which is sort
- 27:06Speaker 1: of cute and sort of weird at the same time. Then,
- 27:11Speaker 1: the popcorn dog jumps up into your arms. You're pretty cute,
- 27:17Speaker 1: you say, patting the little thing on the head. Changer
- 27:22Speaker 1: approaches and sniffs your new friend. The popcorn dog jumps
- 27:27Speaker 1: down and sniffs back. They stare at each other for
- 27:31Speaker 1: a moment and then they start to wag their tails.
- 27:35Speaker 1: Looks like you two are actually going to get along.
- 27:38Speaker 1: The popcorn dog gives an excited bark and starts running
- 27:42Speaker 1: in circles around Changer. Changer starts chasing him and soon
- 27:48Speaker 1: the two puppies are racing around the food court. bouncing
- 27:52Speaker 1: through popcorn piles and sliding across the floor. You laugh
- 27:57Speaker 1: as you watch them. Alright, you two, let's see what
- 28:02Speaker 1: else we can find. You continue through the food court
- 28:06Speaker 1: with your two new companions trotting happily beside you. You
- 28:12Speaker 1: pass an enormous chocolate fountain, a candy store filled with
- 28:16Speaker 1: colorful sweets, and, well, another pizza stand. Lots of pizza stands.
- 28:23Speaker 1: But as you approach the pizza stand, you hear a deep,
- 28:28Speaker 1: rumbling growl. You freeze. Uh, spaceship? Yes. Please tell me
- 28:40Speaker 1: that that's just another popcorn dog. I'm afraid it is not.
- 28:46Speaker 1: Something enormous moves behind the pizza counter. Then another shape
- 28:53Speaker 1: rises beside it. Two gigantic bears step into view, except
- 29:01Speaker 1: they aren't any ordinary bears, because their body seems to
- 29:05Speaker 1: be made out of pizza. Their fur looks like melted
- 29:11Speaker 1: cheese with pepperoni slices covering them. One bear has mushrooms
- 29:17Speaker 1: growing along its back. The other has a particularly large
- 29:22Speaker 1: pepperoni stuck to his forehead. Pizza? Bears? you ask. Apparently.
- 29:31Speaker 1: The bears look at you, then they look at the
- 29:34Speaker 1: pizza machine beside them, and then they start to growl. Okay,
- 29:43Speaker 1: I get it. You think we're going to steal your pizza.
- 29:47Speaker 1: But we're not. You can have all of that dirty
- 29:50Speaker 1: pizza that's fallen on the ground. We don't need any pizza.
- 29:53Speaker 1: I've got my own replicators. You say, but before you
- 29:58Speaker 1: can decide what to do, Something enormous rises from the
- 30:02Speaker 1: slushy fountain nearby. A gigantic purple and blue blob climbs
- 30:09Speaker 1: out and sort of wiggles over towards you. Oh, come on,
- 30:20Speaker 1: you exclaim. A slushy monster too? The slushy creature slides
- 30:27Speaker 1: toward you. leaving a trail of icy slushy behind it.
- 30:33Speaker 1: You reach toward your watch, but before you can activate
- 30:37Speaker 1: your armor, the popcorn dog steps in front of you.
- 30:42Speaker 1: His tiny little body puffs up, his ears stand straight,
- 30:48Speaker 1: and he starts to growl. It's a very small growl,
- 30:53Speaker 1: but a growl nonetheless, and the pizza bears actually stop
- 30:57Speaker 1: for a moment Changer looks at the popcorn dog, then
- 31:03Speaker 1: at the bears, and then he transforms as well into
- 31:09Speaker 1: a second popcorn dog, only twice the size, which is
- 31:15Speaker 1: probably helpful here. The two of them continue to bark
- 31:19Speaker 1: and growl. The slushy creature seems to second think things and, well,
- 31:27Speaker 1: it starts moving backwards and transforms back into a huge blob.
- 31:33Speaker 1: The pizza bears look at each other, and then they
- 31:36Speaker 1: turn around and run in the opposite direction. You stare
- 31:42Speaker 1: at the two popcorn dogs, and then you laugh. Well,
- 31:48Speaker 1: good job, you two. You've scared them away. Well done,
- 31:52Speaker 1: but maybe we better get out of here before we
- 31:56Speaker 1: find something even stranger. I believe that is an excellent idea.
- 32:03Speaker 1: You make your way back out of the food court
- 32:06Speaker 1: to an open area outside where Spaceship grows back to
- 32:12Speaker 1: his regular size and lands in front of you, opening
- 32:16Speaker 1: up the back hatch. You and Changer climb up the
- 32:21Speaker 1: ramp and look back at a very sad-looking popcorn dog.
- 32:28Speaker 1: It begins to make a little whimper sound. Its tail
- 32:34Speaker 1: drops and, well, it just looks so sad. Sorry, buddy,
- 32:40Speaker 1: we have to go. This place is a little weirder
- 32:44Speaker 1: than I thought it would be. The popcorn dog continues
- 32:49Speaker 1: to whimper. You look over at Changer, who, well, shrugs
- 32:54Speaker 1: his little popcorn dog's shoulders. Then, transforms back into an
- 32:59Speaker 1: earth puppy. Okay, I mean, if you really want to come,
- 33:06Speaker 1: maybe you can hang out for a bit. We can
- 33:08Speaker 1: always drop you off later. The little popcorn dog starts
- 33:13Speaker 1: jumping up and down excitedly and then runs past you
- 33:17Speaker 1: into the ship. He and Changer jump up on the couch,
- 33:22Speaker 1: curl up around each other, and lay down. Okay, you
- 33:28Speaker 1: make yourself at home, you say. The doors close behind you,
- 33:35Speaker 1: the ship hums to life, and takes off into the air. You,
- 33:41Speaker 1: on the other hand, head directly for the bedroom. You
- 33:46Speaker 1: lay down in the bed, pull the covers up to
- 33:50Speaker 1: your chin, and close your eyes. With every breath, You
- 33:57Speaker 1: let go of a little more tension from your muscles.
- 34:02Speaker 1: You relax your arms, your legs, your neck, your shoulders,
- 34:10Speaker 1: your head. With every breath, you sink down a little
- 34:15Speaker 1: deeper into the mattress, and your mind wanders a little
- 34:20Speaker 1: further off, off to thoughts of new dreams, new adventures,
- 34:29Speaker 1: and new planets to come. Good night, everyone.
- 35:13Speaker 2: Thank you.
- 37:13Speaker 1: Thank you.
- 37:53Speaker 2: You Thank you.
- 39:20Speaker 1: Thank you.
- 40:44Speaker 2: Thank you.
- 41:26Speaker 1: Thank you. Thank you.
- 43:28Speaker 2: Thank you. Thank you.
- 45:00Speaker 1: Thank you.
- 45:54Speaker 2: Thank you. Thank you.
