Speaker 3: Welcome back to another episode of Excuse My Grandma. It's Kim and my cohost. Grandma Gail. In this very special bonus episode, in honor of 200 episodes, we are going to show some of our favorite moments of the last four years. Can't believe it, Kim.
• 1:17
There's lots of laughs, lots of amazing interviews. Some good hair, some bad hair. So we hope you enjoy.
• 1:29
Speaker 4: It takes to be married for sixty years is to turn off your hearing when you don't like what's being said.
• 1:35
Speaker 3: Are you gonna get Poppy a gift?
• 1:36
Speaker 4: No. I got him a card. I'm the gift.
• 1:39
  Speaker 3: Do you think?
• 1:39
Speaker 4: I'm the gift. I'm the gift
• 1:41
Speaker 3: that keeps on giving. Sixty years and years sixty
• 1:44
Speaker 4: years I'm still giving. Did they not pay well on that Housewives? In the beginning, they paid nothing. We got $7,000 the first season. Unfortunately for me, I left before the money really started.
• 1:56
Right. But they still aired those episodes. There's no royalties. You thought there's no royalties? No.
• 2:03
But I would think there's a little more about kindness coming out in society over the air. I don't think I don't think the audience wants to see the fighting. I really know. You're wrong. Well, that's why I don't produce this show.
• 2:16
But I will say this. I would hope that they don't. That would be my help. I'll say they want the fighting. They want the fighting, but they don't want it where you can't make up.
• 2:25
Speaker 3: Do you think is too picky? Like, I think grandma Gail sometimes thinks I'm a little picky. But
• 2:30
Speaker 4: No. A lot picky.
• 2:31
Speaker 5: Okay. Okay. Kim, what are your top three must haves, Kim?
• 2:34
Speaker 3: Okay. I would say, I guess, Jewish. Okay. Has some sort of career. Okay.
• 2:43
  And Be tall. No.
• 2:45
  Speaker 6: That I I don't think I
• 2:46
Speaker 3: don't think that's well, I would that's a preference for me. I don't think it's a must have. But maybe someone who, like, you can have a deep conversation with and you like that chemistry x factor.
• 2:57
Speaker 5: Okay. So I'll tell you right there. So chemistry is not really a quantifiable quantity or quality in the sense that someone doesn't have chemistry. That's what you guys create together. Right?
• 3:07
When you put all the ingredients. So if you look right. Oh, you agree, grandma Gail?
• 3:11
Speaker 4: I love it. You have to work
• 3:13
Speaker 3: at chemistry. Can I change it to brunette then? Okay. So let's talk about wrapping up living together in Palm Beach.
• 3:21
  Speaker 4: It's
• 3:21
Speaker 3: gonna be interesting. Did I rate as a roommate from one to 10?
• 3:26
  Speaker 4: Oh, I I think a nine.
• 3:28
  Speaker 3: Why not a 10?
• 3:30
  Speaker 4: Well, I don't I don't think anybody is a 10.
• 3:32
Speaker 3: There's no such thing
• 3:32
Speaker 4: as Maybe Brad Pitt is a 10. Right.
• 3:35
Speaker 3: He would be a great roommate.
• 3:37
Speaker 4: Yeah. I don't but I think I think you were pretty you were pretty close to being great.
• 3:42
Speaker 3: Aw. What did I contribute?
• 3:45
Speaker 4: Your smile. Yeah. You got up and you gave me a laugh. Yep. And you became my golf partner.
• 3:51
  So that was very important.
• 3:53
Speaker 3: What an ex boyfriend would say about me. You laughed and you became my golf partner. Maybe. You were a great roomie.
• 4:00
Speaker 4: I was? Yeah. I even made you juice in the morning.
• 4:03
Speaker 3: Oh, yeah. Juice every morning. Wait. Who needs a boyfriend? I have grandma.
• 4:08
Speaker 4: You got grandma. We actually, in school, learned how to have home ec, and we had we learned how to sew. We learned how to iron. It sounds crazy. And the guys did it, and the girls did it.
• 4:20
And then the second half of our semester, we would all take shop, and we would learn how to do electrical gadgets and and plumbing projects. And it was sounds crazy.
• 4:31
Speaker 3: Actually make sense for your life versus, like, the Pythagorean theorem or, like, who the Mongolian empire king was. And People have girls' nights, Saturday night.
• 4:40
  Speaker 4: Yeah. I don't think it's right. Really? Nope. Think I it's wrong.
• 4:43
  Speaker 3: No girls night?
• 4:44
Speaker 4: No girls piano? No. No. Go out for lunch. Really?
• 4:48
  Yep.
• 4:48
Speaker 3: I think though if I said to a guy, hey. By the way, I'm going to do a background check on you. They would say, well, you're the psycho one that you're looking into me.
• 4:56
  Speaker 6: Like, that's
• 4:57
Speaker 3: Here's not the most normal
• 4:59
Speaker 7: how you do it. You know? How old are you now?
• 5:02
  Speaker 3: I'm 25.
• 5:03
Speaker 7: 25. You know what? I don't want you to be offended. I've dated guys before and all that, but I've made up my mind. I really don't wanna get burned.
• 5:12
I don't wanna get involved because if I fall in love with you and then all of a sudden I find out that you're a nut like a lot of guys that I've dated, you know, what am I gonna do? So let's do it right for the beginning.
• 5:22
Speaker 4: I think, Bo, you know some of her dates.
• 5:24
Speaker 3: How common was it, let's say, to, like, give someone a blow job?
• 5:28
Speaker 4: I don't know, I never did it. Ever? Never, never.
• 5:32
  Speaker 3: That's crazy.
• 5:33
Speaker 4: And I'm married fifty seven years, I'm still not doing it.
• 5:38
Speaker 3: That's it. Now like a guy would be like, I'm not even giving you a second. Well, you know what then goodbye to you. Yeah, but there's so much to be said about like giving
• 5:51
Speaker 4: Well, good you're happy doing it then you should stick with it.
• 5:54
Speaker 3: A you up text, when someone when someone gets a text saying you up at like
• 6:00
  Speaker 4: midnight. Right. Right.
• 6:02
  Speaker 3: That's a late
• 6:02
Speaker 4: You shouldn't have your phone on anyway.
• 6:04
Speaker 3: That's a late night hookup. Well, that's no good.
• 6:06
Speaker 4: Right. That's no good. That's somebody who just can't go to sleep.
• 6:09
Speaker 3: That's somebody who wants a fuck
• 6:10
Speaker 4: buddy Take Tylenol. Take a Tylenol.
• 6:13
  Speaker 3: An Ambien
• 6:13
Speaker 4: and go to Exactly.
• 6:14
Speaker 3: In a way, I just hope all of you are sending nudes to your boyfriend or girlfriend if they are in a separate place.
• 6:22
  Speaker 4: I think that's a great idea.
• 6:23
  Speaker 3: Sending nudes?
• 6:24
Speaker 4: No, not nudes, sending a little love. No, no, no. I just need nudes, naked? Yeah, like a naked No, nobody should send anything naked over the internet.
• 6:34
Speaker 3: No, no, no, no but like on Snapchat or No, no naked photos. They disappear.
• 6:40
Speaker 4: No, nothing disappears. It's going into the clouds.
• 6:43
Speaker 3: Okay, so what about what to wear? Like what do you think is a first good first date outfit?
• 6:48
  Speaker 4: Look great.
• 6:49
  Speaker 3: Obviously. Have to
• 6:50
Speaker 4: look a little push the envelope, look a little sexy.
• 6:55
Speaker 3: Push the, what do you mean? A push up bra?
• 6:58
Speaker 4: Tight sweater, a little pair of skinny jeans and naturally great shoes.
• 7:05
Speaker 3: No one's looking at your shoe.
• 7:07
Speaker 4: It's a different mindset because now I know that I'm changing people's attitudes about how older people can do things. And that's one of the messages we always talk about. It's never too late to go do something. I got an opportunity through my granddaughter, but there's so many other women who have got so much to offer when they're older that if given the opportunity, they would be terrific.
• 7:29
Speaker 3: I was gonna talk about Sofia Richie's wedding in Hotel Dukap.
• 7:32
Speaker 4: I'm very much against everybody thinking, oh my gosh, I could have a wedding like this. First of all, nobody can have a wedding like this unless you have a billionaire father and or a husband that can afford this. I do think you're right. Class
• 7:47
Speaker 3: six don't style think trends have to do with money though. I think to say, oh you're not living an extravagant life so you can't dress cool or the way you want. I
• 7:55
Speaker 4: think you shouldn't project that this is the way a wedding should be. This is not the way a wedding should be. This is really just this is made up. Just like the rom coms are made up. This is not reality.
• 8:07
  So I
• 8:08
Speaker 3: think we're this is coming back to the major difference between us that we talk about all the time, the daydreamer in me and the logic in you. I don't think I'm saying like, oh my gosh, every wedding is a princess. But it's fun to like dream about it and right?
• 8:23
Speaker 4: Good luck to your dreaming. I have to tell you, I'm waiting for the butterflies. I'm married sixty years. I haven't had a butterfly yet.
• 8:29
Speaker 3: What'd you say to me this morning? Make sure it's not like acid reflux?
• 8:32
Speaker 4: It could be exactly. We started your night out getting dressed at 05:30 in the afternoon.
• 8:38
Speaker 3: Yeah. Which still wasn't enough time for me to get ready. Like even if I give myself four hours, which I don't, but if I did,
• 8:45
Speaker 4: I You would still be rest in between. All of a sudden you were lying in between getting dressed, you were lying on the bed.
• 8:51
Speaker 3: I have to take, like, a TikTok break.
• 8:53
Speaker 4: Don't know what All that of a sudden, you you were decompressing, and and you hadn't even finished putting your makeup on. Sex help your skin? Yes. It does. Sex?
• 9:03
  Good sex?
• 9:04
Speaker 6: Doesn't matter. Oh my god. Any sex. Zoe hates when I talk about this. She does it a lot on our podcast.
• 9:12
  Embarrass her. Oh. Drink it.
• 9:13
Speaker 4: It's like it just doesn't help. Thinking. It's been something I've been thinking about. I mean, does it help? Because everybody over 80 may as well just have one big large breakout.
• 9:23
I mean, there's a gap. How old are you guys, by the way? I'm 26. 26? Yeah.
• 9:29
And that's So you're the similar age to to Kimberly. Kimberly's 25. And how old do you have?
• 9:33
  Speaker 8: I'm the geezer. I'm 29.
• 9:35
Speaker 4: Oh, you already got to get married. You think I should be married, baby. You better get the show on the road. Really?
• 9:42
Speaker 8: See, mother, she's like, just get a plus one. So that was what she was saying a few months ago.
• 9:48
Speaker 3: But anyone can be a plus one, even if you've gone on one
• 9:51
  Speaker 4: date Well, with
• 9:53
Speaker 8: don't like introducing girls to my parents because they're so much. You know, Jewish parents, there's so much. They're just so too aggressive. Just calm down.
• 10:03
Speaker 4: I do have songs that I did have with with old boyfriends that I every time it goes on the air, I do think about
• 10:09
Speaker 3: But what do you mean? Like, you were you were listening with the person? You were like, this is our song?
• 10:12
  Speaker 4: Yeah. Yeah.
• 10:14
  Speaker 3: Like what? Like
• 10:16
Speaker 4: Moon River, which was what yeah. I mean, there were songs that each relationship I had. There weren't that many relationships because I got married very young, but I I had a few. And I do remember the songs, and I think about them fondly and sometimes sadly.
• 10:31
Speaker 3: She would love some investing tips even with clothes and bags. I wanna be a rich luxury lady.
• 10:40
Speaker 4: Well, firstly, invest in your own career. Put put away enough money smartly with either an investment person or someone you can rely on. Make sure you're not spending more than you're making. Do not use that credit card, girls, without being able to pay for it. Interest is very, very high today, and it'll eat up your money.
• 11:04
So as far as investing in a bag, I always say get the best one that you can afford.
• 11:11
Speaker 3: Top tip for living with a man and not driving him crazy.
• 11:16

• 11:39
Speaker 10: Spring just slid into your DMs. Grab that boho look for that rooftop dinner, those sandals that can keep up with you, and hang some string lights to give your patio a glow up. Spring's calling. Ross, work your magic.
• 11:56
Speaker 4: Well, hopefully, you don't drive each other crazy when when you're married. I do think both people need a little space, whether it you have to take a walk, you have to let him watch his, football game, he has to let you go to aerobics class or whatever kind of activity you like. I don't think you can live as an island alone. You have to meet up together, and that's what a relationship is about. But you have to give each other space.
• 12:20
And if you know something irritates your partner, don't do it. What I find disturbing is that a whole set of millennials just are pushing the the the date further and further away because they're they're looking for something that's not realistic, and that's the issue. Once you're after '25, '26, '27, '28, '29, you have to know what you want. And if you don't know by then, you might never know. And then the day could pass and then you will not find anybody because you're anxious.
• 12:51
Speaker 3: People wonder where my anxiety comes from. My anxiety. How far into dating do you think you could give someone a gift? I don't think
• 12:59
Speaker 4: you should go crazy with gifts. Maybe a special book that they like to read or a record. Or I don't know if they give records anymore, cassette player or what do you
• 13:09
Speaker 3: call those, CDs? Not really. What do
• 13:12
Speaker 4: they put in a car to listen to music?
• 13:15
Speaker 3: Nothing, you connect your Bluetooth.
• 13:16
Speaker 4: Oh, so then everything gets caught up. Alright, that gift is finished.
• 13:19
Speaker 3: For anyone looking at that and wondering, should I be doing that and, like, comparing yourself, like No. Everyone is
• 13:24
Speaker 4: Everybody's on a different time and not everybody has the right person to do it. So you're just not doing it for the sake of doing it. Right. You have to really feel this is the moment that is correct for you.
• 13:34
Speaker 3: I bought sea moss. Sea moss? Sea moss.
• 13:38
Speaker 4: I could get that for free for you every day on the beach. Right? Well What do you do with that? Take a bath? No.
• 13:43
You eat it. It has all You should stop reading these articles.
• 13:47
  Speaker 3: I promise. It's a thing.
• 13:48
Speaker 4: Honestly, when you become old, everybody needs their own space.
• 13:51
Speaker 3: Wait. No. No. Two people can't fit in a twin.
• 13:53
Speaker 4: Yes. They can. A twin. They they spoon.
• 13:57
Speaker 3: That is so uncomfortable. Well, for you, but for some people, I under I have a queen.
• 14:01
Speaker 4: Oh, no. My parents always slept in
• 14:03
Speaker 3: But a twin Right.
• 14:04
Speaker 4: Like one person. No. I know. Well, depends on how big you are. I don't think a mother and father is supposed to be meant to be cool.
• 14:10
Speaker 3: I agree with that. I always think of the mean girl's mom.
• 14:13
Speaker 4: There are no rules in this house. I'm not like a regular mom. I'm a cool mom. That's alright. That one's probably going to be a very successful person.
• 14:21
  Speaker 3: Wait, it's a movie. It's a scripted movie.
• 14:23
Speaker 4: Oh, it is? Oh, I don't
• 14:24
Speaker 3: Mean girls, shut up. It's an iconic movie. You should see it. It's like 20 years old at this point.
• 14:30
Speaker 4: Men like to be the chasers, the initiators. There are still men that like to do it themselves and not have a woman hound them. So I think there's a fine line here.
• 14:40
Speaker 3: And I also think there's a difference between hounding someone and texting once, How was your day? That's not hounding someone. Well, a lot
• 14:47
Speaker 4: of women emasculate a man and make them feel that they're really
• 14:50
Speaker 3: I don't think that's true at all. Think you should be comfortable in yourself that no one can emasculate you. If they have such a fragile ego that someone being successful around them doesn't make them feel more motivated and then it brings them down. One, have their own demons but fine, they can find someone that they're
• 15:06
Speaker 4: It's not gonna a different mindset because now I know that I'm changing people's attitudes about how older people can do things. And that's one of the messages we always talk about. It's never too late to go do something. I got an opportunity through my granddaughter, but there's so many other women who have got so much to offer when they're older that if given the opportunity, they would be terrific. And it bothers me when we'd go out for dinner and I see everybody on the phone.
• 15:32
I mean, you're a doctor and you have an emergency or you're the president of The United States, what's the big deal for two hours to put your phone over?
• 15:40
Speaker 3: You know what though? I do do it with you guys, but if I was on a date,
• 15:45
Speaker 4: I don't bring out my phone. It bothers me terribly when I see the young people at the table, 10, 11, 12, they can't carry on conversation. All they're doing is looking at their phone and they're looking at nonsense. Nothing is guaranteed. This is something I say all the time to people.
• 15:59
There is no guarantee. Everything could look great and then it turns out terrible. If you're going for the guarantee, you might be sorry. I want you to know that was probably the dumbest Yeah. The dumbest thing I ever did in the world.
• 16:12
My friend who sold me my actual ring said, I have the most gorgeous pink diamond. How dumb was I? You would have been
• 16:19
Speaker 3: wearing it today with your pink sweater.
• 16:20
Speaker 4: I would have definitely. And I always wear pink. To say
• 16:23
Speaker 3: that no men in New York City have manners is a crazy thing.
• 16:26
Speaker 4: Well, I don't think it's not no men, it's the men she's met.
• 16:28
Speaker 6: Hi, Kim and Grandma Gail. I need some dating advice. And I just moved to New York City from the South and I'm struggling because I feel like none of the guys I'm dating here have manners like they did back home.
• 16:37
Speaker 4: You know what? Don't give up on
• 16:39
Speaker 3: New York yet. I also wouldn't be afraid to if you like them to be like, Hey, it makes me feel really special when you come around the door for the car and open the car door for me, or when you open a door for me.
• 16:49
Speaker 4: You're not his mother. I think you can say that,
• 16:51
Speaker 3: And then they'll do it if they care.
• 16:54
Speaker 4: Maybe. Kim is a very bad example of this because she had a 100 dates. There are too many choices. How many people did you date ish? Oh, I dated a lot.
• 17:02
  Can we rewind
• 17:03
Speaker 3: five minutes ago when she said she dated so much? Kim was on every day.
• 17:07
Speaker 4: I'm not saying it was 80 or a 100, but certainly four or five that I really, really liked and went out with. Four or five.
• 17:13
Speaker 3: Yeah. Okay. That's different now. I take it back. I'm pro dating apps.
• 17:16
I just think that we have to turn you into your own matchmaker.
• 17:19
Speaker 4: If this girl you know, the guy has a life, and she should be having a life. Stop worrying about her his texting
• 17:24
Speaker 3: and feel like out of sight, out of mind.
• 17:27
Speaker 4: Oh, please. Come on. He calls her to go out for dinner. You can't call somebody all day long. How are you?
• 17:32
And hold your hand. That's how you talk
• 17:33
Speaker 3: to me. So like I would they wrote in for the tough love, I'm sure.
• 17:36
Speaker 4: I'm sure. If they're asking me, they know they're gonna get tough love. Somebody has to go to work at 07:00 in the morning. They can't come up with a little thing for you. Get adult.
• 17:45
You see them, you kiss them good morning or send them a text, hi, I love you, goodbye, have a
• 17:50
Speaker 3: good day. It wouldn't work for a lot of people, but I understand what you're saying.
• 17:53
Speaker 4: Thank you. Yeah. I'm married sixty one
• 17:55
Speaker 3: years, it works. I know.
• 17:56
Speaker 4: You can have something that costs a dollar and you'll love it because of either who gave it to you or how, you were fortunate enough to buy it. I don't think it matters. I think everybody, you know, because of social media and because you see all these beautiful women wearing all these expensive things, it's nonsense. You know, that's one half of 1% has that kind of stuff, so don't even dwell on it. Wear what you wanna wear, go get the things that you can afford, and be happy with it because it's really not that important in life.
• 18:27
Most of those people you're watching are having miserable lives.
• 18:31
Speaker 3: New York City is named as the worst city to date in. To date in? Yes. I thought it was gonna be the best because it does have the most amount of single people. Even if you find
• 18:41
Speaker 4: somebody to go out with, which is sometimes difficult, it's still very costly.
• 18:45
Speaker 3: There's a very low number of people actively looking.
• 18:48
Speaker 4: Well, think people get discouraged. So I think they feel that there's you know, it's harder to meet. It's hard for young people today. That's why we have to fix up all our friends. One of my bridesmaids got married a year later, and I took the dress out, and I took it to the cleaner, and I had him change the white satin band to green, and I wore it to her wedding.
• 19:06
You wore your wedding dress to a friend's wedding? Yeah, it was nothing. That's a bold swing. That was nothing. But it wasn't really a I changed the color.
• 19:14
Not of the whole thing? Not of the whole dress. No. She didn't say anything. I figured I'll never wear anything.
• 19:20
She didn't say anything to you. Probably doesn't talk. She that's why maybe she doesn't You talk to me
• 19:26
Speaker 3: were in Parent Trap, right? Was that your first acting gig?
• 19:30
Speaker 4: They kind of put me in their movies, like you said, so that I could come and hang out.
• 19:34
  Speaker 3: Right.
• 19:34
Speaker 4: Yeah. I had an actual speaking role in that movie. You know, my parents were making a film about 11 year old girls, So I was an 11 year old So it was great. Was great. Fun.
• 19:46
Speaker 3: I obviously work with my grandma every Like, do you guys agree or disagree, like, on a daily basis? Or is it always yeah.
• 19:55
Speaker 4: We agree and disagree on a daily basis. Yeah. Yeah. I say I get fired every couple of days.
• 19:59
Speaker 3: Yeah. Complains about the temperature of the restaurant, the temperature of the food. Right. Gives out, like, a $100 bills for no reason to all of her grandkids.
• 20:09
Speaker 11: It's move tables, which my grandma move tables more than once, and my whole family is, like, heads down. Like, we,
• 20:14
  Speaker 3: like Crin.
• 20:15
Speaker 11: Mouthing, I'm sorry to the waiter. Like
• 20:17
Speaker 4: Well, that was Don Rickles' old bit that everybody who was Jewish was changing their tables. They were getting a draft. The food wasn't hot. Right. And all the non Jewish people were already finished with dinner, enjoying themselves.
• 20:29
They didn't even think about it. And we've now perfected it. We've perfected that gene.
• 20:34
  Speaker 3: Yeah.
• 20:34
Speaker 4: So that we know that the coffee's not hot enough. We know that the pasta has to be sent back. Mhmm. And we definitely can't sit under a draft. Draft is very bad.
• 20:43
Speaker 3: There's a finance boy trope of, like, what are they? They're kinda assholes. Yeah. You know, they
• 20:49
Speaker 11: They're trying to prove something to themselves by hitting on you, which is not the right way to go about it. Right. I mean, what do I know as a gay man who's never been to Surf Lodge? But I did just go last week. When I made it
• 20:59
Speaker 4: For the first time.
• 20:59
Speaker 11: When I made that video, I had no clue what I was doing. I'm not in finance.
• 21:02
  Speaker 4: Right.
• 21:02
Speaker 11: I'm not straight. I've never been to Surf Lodge. And I was like
• 21:04
Speaker 6: But it was also so
• 21:05
Speaker 11: blue. Exactly how they act. And when I went, I was like,
• 21:09
Speaker 4: alright. Let me do it right.
• 21:10
Speaker 11: Hit the nail on the head with that one.
• 21:12
Speaker 3: Like, sort of, like, teasing you, but in a way that's, like, actually just mean.
• 21:16
Speaker 11: Yeah. It's like when guys bully the girl they like on the program.
• 21:19
  Speaker 6: Right.
• 21:19
Speaker 11: But it's like as a way of flirting, but it's like, aren't
• 21:21
Speaker 3: you just on their way.
• 21:22
Speaker 11: Aren't you just bullying?
• 21:23
Speaker 3: I mean, the straight finance bros are definitely a breed, but, like, there are the gay ones too.
• 21:29
Speaker 4: Where are they? Where are they?
• 21:31
  Speaker 11: Wherever you're hiding them, I'm I'm I'm here.
• 21:33
  Speaker 4: He's ready.
• 21:33
Speaker 11: I'm gonna excuse my grandma. Let them walk in that door right now.
• 21:37
Speaker 4: If he doesn't say I love you too right away, I would back off.
• 21:41
Speaker 3: So you better know. Under the impression that it's like the guy should say it first.
• 21:46
Speaker 4: I don't know. I don't think so. I don't think it matters. But you should sort of be on the same page and know that it's going in that direction.
• 21:53
Speaker 3: Should I think? You test the waters and you start being like, I love this about you. Or, like, just sort of hinting. And then when you kinda both know that it is, then it probably doesn't matter who says it. But I
• 22:05
Speaker 4: I think you're awfully sappy. I think you're watching too many movies. I don't think in my life, I would ever say, oh, maybe he's gonna love me. Maybe he won't love me. Who you know, just come in.
• 22:17
  Are we are we together?
• 22:19
Speaker 3: Is this it? My ex wants to get coffee this weekend. Should I go?
• 22:23
Speaker 4: No. I mean, what's the point? You're just gonna bring up something that's either hurtful or something the reason why you broke up? Once it's over, it's over.
• 22:33
Speaker 3: Here's where I'm gonna, surprise, surprise, disagree.
• 22:37
Speaker 8: I went into this meeting. It was like six straight guys in a room telling me that I was funny. Right. And I remember before the meeting, was like calling my dad, like, what do I wear? Right.
• 22:45
I don't know. My dad's like, look professional.
• 22:48
  Speaker 6: Right.
• 22:48
Speaker 8: They're like, are you comfortable talking to strangers?
• 22:50
  Speaker 4: Right.
• 22:51
Speaker 8: And I was like, oh, yeah.
• 22:52
Speaker 4: Absolutely. Don't let anybody
• 22:54
  Speaker 3: hear you.
• 22:55
  Speaker 11: No. No. No.
• 22:56
Speaker 8: No. I was not at the time. Barely could talk to a barista. Right. We started doing those interviews and started posting them.
• 23:03
And within a month, we had a 100,000 followers.
• 23:05
  Speaker 4: People loved it.
• 23:06
Speaker 8: And then within three months, it was a million. And it was like the craziest time of my life. Amazing. And it's just been my job ever since.
• 23:13
Speaker 3: So now, can you talk to a barista with confidence?
• 23:16
Speaker 8: Oh, my gosh. Absolutely. Almond milk latte coming right up. Like, yes.
• 23:21
Speaker 3: I didn't talk at all about weird looks, I guess, you get when you tell people that you are gonna do content creation full time. Now it's a little less taboo, but it's still like, oh, you're not gonna be in an office job anymore. Like, you're gonna just do your little videos. Like, that's the energy you're gonna get from a lot of people. Whenever her friends would go over to her, they would say like, oh, you're cute podcast.
• 23:46
And she'd be like, we're having fun, which we are having fun. But also, once we started doing big brand deals with companies she knew, she was like, oh, wow. This actually is a business. I feel like all I need is like a picture and like to see if I have a mutual friend.
• 24:02
Speaker 4: Except those pictures are lies. I think they take pictures of somebody else and they put it on the same page.
• 24:07
  Speaker 8: There's a
• 24:07
Speaker 4: lot of there's a lot people talking about.
• 24:09
Speaker 8: No. What apps are you on apps? Yeah. Which ones?
• 24:12
  Speaker 3: Raya and Hinge.
• 24:14
Speaker 8: Just Not Locks Club?
• 24:15
  Speaker 3: You've been
• 24:15
Speaker 4: Locks Club. In a Jewish I mean, nobody would have believed that we would have collaborated on a business.
• 24:20
Speaker 3: You mean that me and
• 24:21
  Speaker 6: you?
• 24:21
Speaker 4: Yeah. Yeah. You and me. You and me. I know because the truth is, it's it's the odd couple.
• 24:26
Speaker 3: So once I went on a date and I thought it was safe because we were sharing Branzino. Okay. But there were so many bones in it.
• 24:34
Speaker 4: Oh, that's very bad.
• 24:35
Speaker 3: And so I would like put it in my mouth and I'm like, I'm either gonna have to spit this out in front of him and give him the ick die or just choke and die.
• 24:42
Speaker 4: I think you have to choke and die.
• 24:44
Speaker 3: At that point. Right? It's like,
• 24:45
Speaker 4: I guess this is goodbye. Goodbye. Say goodbye to the fellow and just leave.
• 24:53
Speaker 3: Hope you guys loved those moments, especially if you were new to the podcast and haven't heard a lot of those before. Then it was for the first time, and we're so excited for more episodes to come.
