- 0:00Speaker 1: London Withrow presented by Hard Rock Bet. Hey, accidents don't
- 0:03Speaker 1: wait for great timing. A bad moment, a wreck, a fall,
- 0:08Speaker 1: a doctor who wasn't paying attention, suddenly you're fighting an
- 0:10Speaker 1: insurance company that does this every single day. That's why
- 0:13Speaker 1: Clay started Clay Travis Law. He's a Vanderbilt Law grad.
- 0:17Speaker 1: He built a firm around the idea that people deserve
- 0:19Speaker 1: someone willing to pay attention, ask the hard questions, push
- 0:22Speaker 1: back when things don't add up, experienced trial attorneys who
- 0:26Speaker 1: bring the fight to corporations and insurers. Based in Nashville,
- 0:30Speaker 1: and trusted across the country.
- 0:32Speaker 2: Car and truck wrecks, rideshare accidents, medical malpractice, premises liability,
- 0:37Speaker 2: product liability. If you were wrong, they want to hear
- 0:38Speaker 2: about it. And here's what they promise.
- 0:40Speaker 3: Honesty.
- 0:41Speaker 2: They're not going to sugarcoat your case. You'll hear what
- 0:43Speaker 2: it's actually worth, not what you want to hear. Case
- 0:45Speaker 2: evaluation is free. No charge, no pressure, no hassle. Just
- 0:48Speaker 2: tell them your story. Go to claytravislaw.com or call 877-222-4444.
- 0:51Speaker 2: That's claytravislaw.com.
- 0:52Speaker 3: No case. is too big or too small. A little game, Hutton.
- 1:01Speaker 2: Believe it or don't believe it, NFL edition with some
- 1:05Speaker 2: 2-0 starts.
- 1:07Speaker 1: Man, let's go through them, okay? Believe it or don't. Tomorrow,
- 1:12Speaker 1: we're going to look at some 0-2 teams that are surprising.
- 1:14Speaker 1: But believe it means this. Are we believing that these
- 1:20Speaker 1: teams are playoff bound, okay? Because the odds of making
- 1:24Speaker 1: the playoffs at 2-0 are are extremely high compared to
- 1:29Speaker 1: 1-1 or 0-2. 0-2, by the way, about a 10%
- 1:33Speaker 1: chance of playoffs. So if we're looking at just the
- 1:37Speaker 1: current records, what we've seen, the body of work, are
- 1:41Speaker 1: we in or are we out? Chad, the Saints, they've
- 1:46Speaker 1: picked up where they left off last year. And I'm
- 1:49Speaker 1: thinking New Orleans, man, the way they play in week one,
- 1:54Speaker 1: they bounce back.
- 1:54Speaker 3: And then what we see yesterday, against the Ravens, a team.
- 1:59Speaker 1: That, I mean, we're driving back from Oxford, and I'm
- 2:02Speaker 1: thinking anytime touchdown, Derrick Henry, that's all she wrote. Here's
- 2:07Speaker 1: Lamar Jackson. Bateman's going to have a big day because
- 2:11Speaker 1: he's going to be playing the number one. I wasn't
- 2:12Speaker 1: even looking at New Orleans. They didn't upgrade their defense
- 2:15Speaker 1: all that well. You know, year two and a quarterback
- 2:18Speaker 1: that Shuck, what does Shuck do whenever we mention his
- 2:24Speaker 1: quarterback prowess across the NFL?
- 2:26Speaker 2: Also, how is that pronounced, Shuck? I'll always have an
- 2:29Speaker 2: issue with that name, the way it's spelled. There was
- 2:33Speaker 2: a guy like David Chow or Slow that was like that.
- 2:36Speaker 2: That's either Show or Shuff. But to come up with
- 2:40Speaker 2: Shuck with that spelling, and I know there's a reason
- 2:42Speaker 2: behind it, and I'm not doubting that that's how it's pronounced,
- 2:45Speaker 2: and I will pronounce it that way. But Hutton, phonetically,
- 2:48Speaker 2: when I look at that word, that name, and I
- 2:52Speaker 2: do not want to say Tyler Shuck every time I
- 2:55Speaker 2: see it. Anyway, small rant. I'm not believing. We may
- 2:59Speaker 2: believe in the Saints. I'm not believing the pronunciation of
- 3:02Speaker 2: that name completely.
- 3:04Speaker 1: I don't believe it. I think the Panthers are the
- 3:07Speaker 1: team to watch in the division. I keep going back
- 3:11Speaker 1: to overall roster. I just don't think the Saints hold
- 3:15Speaker 1: up throughout the season. Do you believe it or don't
- 3:18Speaker 1: believe it?
- 3:20Speaker 2: I believe that I am shocked by the Saints' start.
- 3:23Speaker 3: I believe that.
- 3:24Speaker 2: They have surprised me to a level, especially with that
- 3:27Speaker 2: win over Baltimore that I believe more than I did
- 3:32Speaker 2: coming into it. The Panthers, we forget, they're the defending
- 3:36Speaker 2: NFC South champion.
- 3:37Speaker 3: I know.
- 3:39Speaker 2: All the talk about Baker Mayfield, the Bucs, and how
- 3:41Speaker 2: they blew it, and they did a year ago.
- 3:43Speaker 3: They got off to a great start.
- 3:44Speaker 2: They're one of the best teams in the NFL. And
- 3:45Speaker 2: they completely fell apart late in the year to lose
- 3:48Speaker 2: that division lead and not win it.
- 3:51Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm buying.
- 3:53Speaker 2: I think I'm buying more of the Panthers than I
- 3:56Speaker 2: have a hard time with that entire division, but I'm
- 3:59Speaker 2: very surprised by Tyler Shuck, who I was not expecting
- 4:03Speaker 2: to be a good NFL quarterback, and he is. I mean,
- 4:06Speaker 2: full marks to him. That team is way better than
- 4:08Speaker 2: I expected. Next up, believe, believe the Minnesota Vikings.
- 4:13Speaker 1: Why? Because here's Minnesota with some strong wins, divisional victories, and–
- 4:24Speaker 1: pulling off consecutive tough divisional wins and highlighted by this
- 4:28Speaker 1: defensive performance in what was a low-scoring game in some
- 4:32Speaker 1: bad conditions against the Chicago Bears. The Bears put up
- 4:36Speaker 1: 50 points in Week 2, 9-3 the final. 2-0 is 2-0,
- 4:38Speaker 1: and even more so when it comes to divisional wins.
- 4:41Speaker 1: The Minnesota Vikings, I believe it.
- 4:54Speaker 2: By the way, the Saints are 1-1. We should correct that.
- 4:57Speaker 2: They lost in overtime.
- 4:58Speaker 3: Overtime, yeah. In week one.
- 5:01Speaker 2: So they're actually 1-1. So we'll change that graphic and
- 5:05Speaker 2: get it back up. Completely shocked by the Vikings. That division,
- 5:09Speaker 2: which is very talented, very strong. I was not expecting
- 5:13Speaker 2: the team with Kyler Murray as the starter to be
- 5:16Speaker 2: at 2-0 right now. The Packers gagged away that first
- 5:20Speaker 2: game of the year against them. But the Vikings looked
- 5:23Speaker 2: really good.
- 5:24Speaker 3: In week two.
- 5:25Speaker 2: So I'm not believing it within that division, but I mean,
- 5:29Speaker 2: an awesome start for them.
- 5:30Speaker 1: What was the stat we heard on Brian Flores' defenses
- 5:34Speaker 1: and when they bring pressure? It was like 60% of
- 5:38Speaker 1: the time.
- 5:38Speaker 3: It was more than that, I think.
- 5:40Speaker 1: But they are aggressive with how they go about week
- 5:45Speaker 1: to week. And it's just difficult to prepare for, especially
- 5:48Speaker 1: if you don't have a top 10-esque quarterback. that's able
- 5:52Speaker 1: to read the defense and make the right progressions. Yeah,
- 5:57Speaker 1: Minnesota's for real. And then here's Las Vegas.
- 6:00Speaker 3: What? What are we watching now? I don't believe this.
- 6:06Speaker 1: You know, a 3-14 team, they win over the Chargers.
- 6:10Speaker 1: They send the Chargers to 0-2. 26-14 the victory. Kirk Cousins,
- 6:17Speaker 1: strong play. Max Crosby. They're supporting Max Crosby defensively. They
- 6:24Speaker 1: believe in what they're doing, but I don't believe in
- 6:28Speaker 1: that team holding up in the AFC and, quite frankly,
- 6:32Speaker 1: in that division.
- 6:33Speaker 3: But they beat the Chargers. They did what they needed to.
- 6:36Speaker 2: I mean, they're running trick plays. They got flea flickers
- 6:39Speaker 2: going on. They got reverses. Kirk Cousins is hitting wide-open
- 6:42Speaker 2: dudes after getting the pass thrown to him from the
- 6:46Speaker 2: running back on one play, the throwback. I mean, it's
- 6:49Speaker 2: been impressive to watch. Cousins looks good. And I know
- 6:53Speaker 2: that he's started seasons like this before, but I think
- 6:56Speaker 2: he's still got the ability until the wear and tear
- 6:59Speaker 2: of the season starts to take its toll on his
- 7:01Speaker 2: aging body at this point. He's still good early in
- 7:04Speaker 2: the year before everything takes its toll. And I think
- 7:08Speaker 2: he's been good for the Raiders, which doesn't surprise me
- 7:10Speaker 2: and doesn't look like the worst decision ever to start
- 7:12Speaker 2: the guy when you start the season and let Fernando Mendoza–
- 7:16Speaker 2: get ready as the year goes on into next year.
- 7:19Speaker 3: But what a start for the Raiders.
- 7:20Speaker 1: Have you seen Mendoza wearing the headset and he's being
- 7:26Speaker 1: quizzed by the coaches on the sideline for every single play?
- 7:32Speaker 1: He's going to be ready whenever he comes in, but
- 7:34Speaker 1: Kirk Cousins giving the pregame speeches on the sideline yesterday.
- 7:40Speaker 1: I don't know if it was a fan or a
- 7:41Speaker 1: player that's yelling at him because he's very close to
- 7:42Speaker 1: the bench.
- 7:43Speaker 3: I was like, Kirk, they want to hear you. They
- 7:45Speaker 3: want to hear you, Kirk.
- 7:46Speaker 1: He takes his helmet off and he gives this good golly,
- 7:49Speaker 1: gosh almighty type of speech where he rallies the trip.
- 7:53Speaker 1: I mean, he is a, you like that? He's back
- 7:56Speaker 1: to that version of himself.
- 7:58Speaker 2: It's also, there's not a more perfect mentor for Fernando Mendoza.
- 8:02Speaker 2: I mean, these guys are two peas in a pod.
- 8:04Speaker 2: They're both a little bit oddball. They're a little bit
- 8:06Speaker 2: goody two shoes. It's perfect to have Kirk Cousins with Mendoza.
- 8:11Speaker 2: I can see Mendoza years from now having a great
- 8:13Speaker 2: NFL career and Kirk Cousins on the sideline or in
- 8:16Speaker 2: a suite coming back to watch him play and the
- 8:18Speaker 2: cameras panning up and showing like a proud papa.
- 8:21Speaker 3: Kirk Cousins up there watching.
- 8:23Speaker 2: The guy that he was with for a year, maybe two,
- 8:26Speaker 2: you know, at most with the Raiders to start their career.
- 8:29Speaker 2: But I think just the perfect person to guide Mendoza.
- 8:32Speaker 2: Mendoza as he gets ready to be an NFL starter.
- 8:35Speaker 2: A lot of feel-good vibes. We talk a lot about
- 8:37Speaker 2: vibes on the show. Feel-good vibes coming out of Vegas
- 8:40Speaker 2: with Kirk Cousins and with that team at 2-0. We're
- 8:43Speaker 2: going to get to 0-2 tomorrow, but opposite side of
- 8:47Speaker 2: that spectrum, whatever's happening with the Chargers is the opposite.
- 8:51Speaker 3: They'll be mentioned, man.
- 8:53Speaker 1: By the way, Harbaugh, 0-2 for the first time in
- 8:58Speaker 1: his career as a coach. That includes college, like anywhere
- 9:04Speaker 1: is a different spot for them. Meanwhile, 2-0, we have
- 9:08Speaker 1: the Bills, Bengals. They're leading their divisions right now. They're
- 9:13Speaker 1: the division leaders just because they're still unbeaten. Bills, man,
- 9:19Speaker 1: this is just their season to steamroll if they want
- 9:23Speaker 1: to with the way Josh Allen's playing. But watch out
- 9:26Speaker 1: for Cincinnati. That's a big win for them on the road.
- 9:30Speaker 1: in Houston, and Houston falls to 0-2 as well. And
- 9:34Speaker 1: then Kansas City last night. Kansas City beating the... Did
- 9:38Speaker 1: you see the finish, Chad? Down by contact? I thought
- 9:43Speaker 1: he was still bobbling the football without possession whenever he
- 9:45Speaker 1: was touched. I thought there was going to be game
- 9:47Speaker 1: over and that was a fumble.
- 9:48Speaker 3: I'm going to be honest.
- 9:49Speaker 2: After a long weekend of travel, I was long asleep
- 9:52Speaker 2: when that game ended last night. I saw the Chiefs
- 9:56Speaker 2: take the lead as I'm watching, and then I was
- 9:59Speaker 2: out at that.
- 10:01Speaker 1: The win as time expires in overtime, but going into overtime, Treadwell,
- 10:07Speaker 1: I thought it was a fumble. I guess they're saying
- 10:09Speaker 1: a finger just barely grazed.
- 10:12Speaker 2: Oh, they've shown every angle of it on SportsCenter this morning.
- 10:16Speaker 2: They're showing highlights right now. Again, I thought it was
- 10:19Speaker 2: game over.
- 10:20Speaker 1: You know, it's that weird feeling where I'm thinking, and
- 10:23Speaker 1: by the way, in the middle of going into overtime,
- 10:27Speaker 1: I'm taking the Chiefs. I'm taking the plus money on
- 10:30Speaker 1: hard rock bet for that. That's why I'm thinking, game over,
- 10:33Speaker 1: game over. It's like the Vanderbilt game, Chad. They kick
- 10:37Speaker 1: the extra point, and the spread is three and a half,
- 10:40Speaker 1: and it made it four.
- 10:41Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 10:42Speaker 1: So Vanderbilt ends up covering based on the way that
- 10:45Speaker 1: game ended, plus the extra point going through the uprights.
- 10:49Speaker 2: At one point, JT on a group text, who that
- 10:51Speaker 2: was his, I think that was his blood bank guarantee
- 10:54Speaker 2: in our parlay, was Vandy, said only an idiot would
- 10:57Speaker 2: bet Vanderbilt when they're down 17-0. And then I had
- 11:00Speaker 2: to remind JT this morning. I said, hey, by the way,
- 11:02Speaker 2: Vandy covered with that extra point. JT said, why do
- 11:05Speaker 2: you take the extra point? I'm like, I think because
- 11:07Speaker 2: of Vegas. I think you have to in regulation. The
- 11:10Speaker 2: only time you don't attempt the extra point is overtime in, like,
- 11:13Speaker 2: the untimed down or walk-off sudden death situation where you
- 11:17Speaker 2: don't come out there. You know, you win by six
- 11:19Speaker 2: and not seven because you scored to win the game.
- 11:21Speaker 2: But in regulation, you kick the extra point. You know,
- 11:24Speaker 2: no matter what, if you score at the end, you
- 11:25Speaker 2: go ahead and kick it.
- 11:27Speaker 1: Hey– You brought up JT and his pick for Vandy.
- 11:31Speaker 1: You also hit yours going for the bundle. Mine was
- 11:34Speaker 1: any time touchdown for Saquon Barkley. Israel the first play.
- 11:37Speaker 3: Of the game. Oh, my gosh.
- 11:39Speaker 2: Stinger, and he comes back out looking like Andy Katzenmoyer
- 11:42Speaker 2: from Ohio State back in the day with a huge
- 11:44Speaker 2: cowboy collar. And I'm thinking, this dude wearing those pads,
- 11:48Speaker 2: probably not going to get a lot of touches the
- 11:49Speaker 2: rest of the day to go in with a stinger.
- 11:52Speaker 2: That was a rough one to finish the week. And
- 11:54Speaker 2: we felt so good about it. 2-0 on Saturday. We're
- 11:58Speaker 2: in the truck, headed back from Oxford. We're like, oh,
- 12:00Speaker 2: my gosh. Saquon Barkley gets a tight. We're alerting Brooks,
- 12:04Speaker 2: our graphics guy. Hey, man, get a kick-ass graphic ready
- 12:07Speaker 2: for us for when we hit this parlay. And first
- 12:10Speaker 2: play of the game, the dude goes down. We are
- 12:12Speaker 2: whistling the Battle Hymn of the Republic on the drive back.
- 12:14Speaker 3: Because we think we're going to win.
- 12:15Speaker 2: We were certain. We were certain we were going to
- 12:17Speaker 2: win that hard rock parlay. And nope, did not happen.
- 12:21Speaker 3: Did not come to fruition. I'll tell you what did
- 12:22Speaker 3: come to fruition.
- 12:24Speaker 2: Georgia could have named their final score against Arkansas, and
- 12:27Speaker 2: I had a minus 25.5. I think they won by 28,
- 12:29Speaker 2: but that was because of a late garbage time touchdown
- 12:32Speaker 2: to even make it that close from Arkansas. We're going
- 12:35Speaker 2: to get into bad vibes in college football, I think,
- 12:38Speaker 2: on Wednesday. Holy cow, what is going on with Arkansas.
- 12:42Speaker 2: I'm watching videos of fans fighting each other in the
- 12:44Speaker 2: parking lot postgame. They successfully initiated a boycott of the game.
- 12:51Speaker 2: And I'm thinking, what has Ryan Silverfield done to you
- 12:53Speaker 2: people that you're already doing that? I know you didn't
- 12:57Speaker 2: like the hire, but I mean, he went on the
- 12:59Speaker 2: road and lost to a much better Utah team. But
- 13:02Speaker 2: to boycott games this early in the season in the SEC,
- 13:06Speaker 2: and I know that's a bad football team. Oregon is
- 13:09Speaker 2: this year, and they're likely going to finish last in
- 13:11Speaker 2: the SEC as they were predicted.
- 13:14Speaker 3: But man, oh man, Arkansas falling apart already.
- 13:17Speaker 1: Let's discuss that coming up, Chad. Let's do that. The boycott,
- 13:21Speaker 1: and then let's compare that to what we're seeing in Nashville.
- 13:24Speaker 1: It's not a boycott. It's just apathy and just, I guess,
- 13:29Speaker 1: the inability to notice what's good or bad coming off
- 13:32Speaker 1: of a season that was the best we've seen. That's
- 13:35Speaker 1: all straight ahead here on Hunting Withrow. You want the
- 13:39Speaker 1: attitude of the SEC? It's David Crockett. Crockett Coffee. Started
- 13:44Speaker 1: by Clay Travis, Buck Sexton, and Buck's brother Mason. Named
- 13:48Speaker 1: after Davy Crockett, the hunter, storyteller, patriot, backwoods legend. The logo,
- 13:53Speaker 1: Davy surfing on the backs of crocodiles. It tells you
- 13:55Speaker 1: everything you need to know about the attitude here. 100%
- 13:57Speaker 1: pure arabica, high altitude beans, small batch roasted right here
- 14:01Speaker 1: in America. Tennessee, the heart of the country. It ships
- 14:04Speaker 1: fresh roasted. It's not sitting on a warehouse shelf for
- 14:07Speaker 1: six months. Light, medium, dark roast at Sun Creek, Blue Ridge,
- 14:12Speaker 1: King Mountain. Also, organic roast. You've got decaf and a
- 14:16Speaker 1: mushroom blend, even. Whole bean, ground, or K-cups. However you
- 14:19Speaker 1: make it in the morning.
- 14:21Speaker 3: Set up a subscription.
- 14:22Speaker 2: Shows up on your schedule, not anyone else's. Change it,
- 14:24Speaker 2: cancel it anytime you want. It's the free market intended.
- 14:27Speaker 2: You're not going to want to cancel it, though. Let
- 14:28Speaker 2: me tell you, you're not going to want to cancel
- 14:29Speaker 2: this thing. No. Free shipping on orders of $ 59 or more.
- 14:32Speaker 2: And there's a discount for veterans and Crockett partners with
- 14:35Speaker 2: Tunnel to Towers, building mortgage-free homes for the families of
- 14:38Speaker 2: fallen service members and for catastrophically injured veterans and first responders.
- 14:42Speaker 3: Good coffee.
- 14:43Speaker 2: Made in America, doing some good, CrockettCoffee.com. That's Crockett, C-R-O-C-K-E-T-T, coffee.com.
- 14:51Speaker 2: I've got some right here.
- 14:52Speaker 3: It's delicious.
- 14:54Speaker 1: Hey, my reasoning on the whole Arkansas deal, the boycott,
- 14:59Speaker 1: I don't know if it's worthy of a boycott, but
- 15:04Speaker 1: I understand if you're in the Calipari world, if you're
- 15:09Speaker 1: in the business of John Calipari, you expect a certain,
- 15:15Speaker 1: there's a certain level.
- 15:16Speaker 2: A certain level of service one would expect, right? Like people,
- 15:20Speaker 2: they just anticipate the needs of rich people. You know,
- 15:23Speaker 2: wherever they go, they're going to be there to service
- 15:25Speaker 2: them and they anticipate their needs. You expect the white
- 15:28Speaker 2: glove service with John Calipari is what you're saying.
- 15:30Speaker 1: You don't hire a coach and then have the cheapest
- 15:33Speaker 1: roster in the SEC.
- 15:35Speaker 3: They do.
- 15:37Speaker 1: And also, what happened to Arkansas fans? They watched Indiana
- 15:41Speaker 1: and Vanderbilt have success.
- 15:43Speaker 3: You know?
- 15:45Speaker 1: And then this is the follow-up in Arkansas. They're watching
- 15:48Speaker 1: Stanford try to invest in NIL. Yeah. And Arkansas is
- 15:53Speaker 1: in the thick of it in the SEC. They don't
- 15:55Speaker 1: want to be in the cellar.
- 15:57Speaker 3: And, okay.
- 15:59Speaker 1: I mean, I get it. But also, Chad, I could
- 16:03Speaker 1: ask you. You know exactly what it's like as a
- 16:05Speaker 1: Tennessee fan. you don't want to be the seller, then
- 16:08Speaker 1: they're always going to come to you and say, hey, 4%
- 16:10Speaker 1: ticket increase, 5% ticket increase.
- 16:12Speaker 3: That's just how it is.
- 16:13Speaker 1: But I guess they're seeing that anyway because of John Calipari.
- 16:17Speaker 2: Yeah, I just don't know how successfully boycotting your first
- 16:23Speaker 2: home SEC game this early in the season is going
- 16:25Speaker 2: to help drive whatever they want.
- 16:27Speaker 3: Maybe it does.
- 16:28Speaker 2: Maybe it gets the attention of Hunter Urochek or whoever else.
- 16:31Speaker 2: I mean, Ryan Silverfield wants to spend money. I can
- 16:34Speaker 2: tell you that. We talked to him down at SEC
- 16:36Speaker 2: Media Days. He's all about it. He's out there fundraising.
- 16:38Speaker 2: He's trying to get Tyson Foods and the Walton family
- 16:42Speaker 2: and everyone else to come in and help spend money.
- 16:46Speaker 2: We're going to get someone on from Arkansas. I know
- 16:49Speaker 2: enough to know what I don't know, and most of
- 16:51Speaker 2: the things in college sports, it's easy to follow the
- 16:54Speaker 2: anger or the excitement of a fan base. I'm having
- 16:57Speaker 2: a hard time connecting the dots with the Arkansas anger.
- 17:00Speaker 2: If it's over Ryan Silverfield– Once they didn't get Alex Golish,
- 17:04Speaker 2: which it looks like they were going to have him,
- 17:06Speaker 2: and then he goes to Auburn.
- 17:07Speaker 3: Okay, great.
- 17:08Speaker 2: Someone chose Auburn over you. Not the end of the world, right?
- 17:12Speaker 2: And the other one was Rhett Lashley.
- 17:14Speaker 3: Remember this?
- 17:14Speaker 1: Because of Rhett Lashley's connection to Jerry Jones.
- 17:17Speaker 3: Yeah, that was one.
- 17:18Speaker 2: I'm sure that was the first one they would love
- 17:20Speaker 2: to get. But, I mean, he's got a good job
- 17:21Speaker 2: at SMU. And he's got a very winnable schedule every
- 17:24Speaker 2: year in the ACC.
- 17:26Speaker 3: But, again, we're.
- 17:27Speaker 2: Talking about the Tulane coach, the South Florida coach, or
- 17:30Speaker 2: the Memphis coach. Hiring the Memphis coach that had a
- 17:33Speaker 2: ton of success at Memphis with that proximity to Arkansas,
- 17:37Speaker 2: a place that Arkansas is going to recruit is West
- 17:40Speaker 2: Tennessee and Memphis also. I just didn't think it was
- 17:42Speaker 2: that outlandish that that's the route they would have gone
- 17:45Speaker 2: with hiring Ryan Silverfield. Again, we'll get someone on from
- 17:48Speaker 2: Arkansas and get to the bottom of it later in
- 17:50Speaker 2: the week.
- 17:51Speaker 1: I would say you don't want to be the school
- 17:55Speaker 1: that's used as Ray's season. all the time, you know,
- 17:58Speaker 1: and that's, that's how it was done for the most part. I, I, I, I,
- 18:02Speaker 1: that's my vibe from it just based on where they
- 18:05Speaker 1: are and where they have been as a program in
- 18:07Speaker 1: the past, long past for those that are the younger audience,
- 18:11Speaker 1: but they, they know that they can be Indiana because they,
- 18:15Speaker 1: they haven't been Indiana in their history. You know, they
- 18:18Speaker 1: haven't been the loosiest program, but now they're, they're the,
- 18:20Speaker 1: at the bottom when it comes to spending money and, uh,
- 18:23Speaker 1: the big donors clearly aren't doing that. Hey, um, What's
- 18:27Speaker 1: going on with the attendance in just the mid-state? What
- 18:29Speaker 1: we used to be, Chad.
- 18:31Speaker 3: Yeah. What we used to be.
- 18:33Speaker 2: In perfect timing, I just got a text from my brother-in-law, PJ,
- 18:36Speaker 2: who said, I'm watching you guys, and I'm sipping on
- 18:38Speaker 2: a Crockett coffee, very smooth.
- 18:40Speaker 3: Nice. I know this.
- 18:41Speaker 2: Because of the ads here, he heard it. He's a
- 18:44Speaker 2: big coffee guy. He went out and set up a subscription,
- 18:46Speaker 2: and he's loving a Crockett coffee. It's also a perfect
- 18:50Speaker 2: segue because my sister, Michelle, who is an avid Tennessee
- 18:55Speaker 2: Titans fan, season ticket holder, spends a lot of money
- 18:58Speaker 2: with that organization, goes to every game. My brother-in-law, big
- 19:01Speaker 2: Bills fan. He's going to stay home and watch the
- 19:03Speaker 2: Bills play. My sister, his wife, goes to every Titans
- 19:07Speaker 2: home game and goes with friends to the game. She
- 19:10Speaker 2: was livid yesterday with attendance at Nissan Stadium. I mean,
- 19:15Speaker 2: livid with the scene. She was livid about Amy Adams-Strunk
- 19:19Speaker 2: somehow allowing Eagles fans to take over the stadium. The
- 19:23Speaker 2: lack of wins in football also.
- 19:25Speaker 3: Contributing to that. for the Tennessee Titans.
- 19:27Speaker 2: She had the cops called on her by Philadelphia Eagles
- 19:29Speaker 2: fans at the stadium. Apparently, she got to the bottom
- 19:32Speaker 2: of it, and it was an Eagles fan living in
- 19:34Speaker 2: the mid-state, which a lot of the fans there didn't
- 19:37Speaker 2: travel in, by the way. There are a lot of
- 19:39Speaker 2: transplants from the Northeast that live here in Nashville or
- 19:43Speaker 2: around the area that just went to the game because
- 19:45Speaker 2: the Eagles came to their town they live.
- 19:48Speaker 3: In right now. By the way, my sister was not arrested.
- 19:50Speaker 3: It was fine.
- 19:51Speaker 2: The Eagles fans were being soft around her when they
- 19:54Speaker 2: called the cops on her. She was the tight version
- 19:56Speaker 2: of Catfish Jake. They patted her on the back like,
- 19:58Speaker 2: good job, giving the Eagles fans crap here in the stadium. Now,
- 20:03Speaker 2: there does have to be such an odd feeling if
- 20:06Speaker 2: you were a Titan, like my sister, and we've said
- 20:08Speaker 2: this a lot, the Titans don't care about my sister.
- 20:11Speaker 2: Like sadly, and I had to tell this to her,
- 20:13Speaker 2: like that marketing department and that team, they're trying to
- 20:16Speaker 2: capture the young audience. They're trying to capture the new
- 20:19Speaker 2: Titans fan. They're trying to capture the people who moved
- 20:21Speaker 2: in from Philly more so than the person that's from
- 20:23Speaker 2: middle Tennessee, you know, born and bred in their fifties.
- 20:27Speaker 2: That's here that have always supported the Titans that have
- 20:29Speaker 2: gone to games since they came to town. They don't
- 20:32Speaker 2: care as much about that segment. of the fan base,
- 20:35Speaker 2: and it shows in a lot of their marketing efforts,
- 20:38Speaker 2: I think. But hadn't to go from what we saw
- 20:41Speaker 2: when we started out covering the Titans, where it was
- 20:42Speaker 2: a legitimate home field advantage. I mean, for years, that
- 20:47Speaker 2: stadium was sold out, but it was loud. It was
- 20:49Speaker 2: a difficult place to go play, and it was a
- 20:52Speaker 2: bit of an odd snake pit situation.
- 20:54Speaker 3: Of a situation. Now it's a snake pit for the Titans.
- 20:58Speaker 2: The Titans are walking into their home field and you
- 21:01Speaker 2: got Jeffrey Simmons grabbing his crotch to Eagles fans because
- 21:04Speaker 2: they've been taunting him all day because it was a
- 21:07Speaker 2: full takeover and he's yelling obscenities at Eagles fans after
- 21:11Speaker 2: they take the lead right before the Eagles go down
- 21:14Speaker 2: and win the game.
- 21:15Speaker 3: Why is this happening?
- 21:16Speaker 2: Because you're playing a road game at home if you're
- 21:19Speaker 2: the Titans. Now, I don't blame Titans fans for not
- 21:22Speaker 2: going to these games. I really don't. I'm not going
- 21:24Speaker 2: to sit here and say that I would go spend
- 21:26Speaker 2: my Sunday in 100-degree heat watching that team play and
- 21:30Speaker 2: spend a bunch of my money to go do it.
- 21:33Speaker 2: So I understand why it's happening, Hutton. It's just more
- 21:36Speaker 2: of an observation of, man, how did we get here?
- 21:40Speaker 2: You know, how did we get here as a sports
- 21:41Speaker 2: city that I just think Nashville is one of the
- 21:45Speaker 2: weaker fan bases around. And they've been beaten into submission
- 21:50Speaker 2: with the Titans recently. I understand that. I'm not being
- 21:52Speaker 2: overly critical of Titans fans here. But it's just a
- 21:55Speaker 2: common problem. You look at Vanderbilt on Saturday. We're sitting
- 21:59Speaker 2: about to go to the game in Oxford, and I
- 22:02Speaker 2: go up and take a picture of our multi-view because
- 22:04Speaker 2: I'm thinking, what in the world is going on? Look
- 22:06Speaker 2: at that side of the stadium. It's all red and
- 22:09Speaker 2: white for NC State. None of the students are there
- 22:13Speaker 2: for Vanderbilt. The crowd is spotty. It's not a big
- 22:16Speaker 2: stadium to begin with. This was Jared Curtis' debut. You're
- 22:20Speaker 2: a five-star freshman that you were chanting for when the
- 22:23Speaker 2: other guy started to start the season, Blaise Berlowitz.
- 22:26Speaker 3: Vandy fans were chanting for him to enter the game.
- 22:28Speaker 3: You got what you wanted.
- 22:30Speaker 2: You're starting a game against a power team in NC State,
- 22:34Speaker 2: and that's the attendance for the game? I was blown
- 22:36Speaker 2: away both Saturday and Sunday. Now, the Titans fans.
- 22:39Speaker 3: Have an excuse. I don't see an excuse for Vandy fans,
- 22:42Speaker 3: quite frankly. That's got to be better.
- 22:45Speaker 2: Your team is 14-3 over the last 17. This is
- 22:48Speaker 2: not same old Vandy. You're winning games. Hell, you won
- 22:50Speaker 2: a game by a miracle on Saturday for those that
- 22:53Speaker 2: actually decided to show up to it. I just feel
- 22:57Speaker 2: like that's got to be better. And Clark Lee and
- 22:59Speaker 2: that team, they've built it up enough where they deserve
- 23:02Speaker 2: better than an NC State takeover.
- 23:04Speaker 3: It was loud when NC State scored.
- 23:06Speaker 2: I'm watching that first half, and when they did something big,
- 23:09Speaker 2: it sounded almost like a home game for NC State.
- 23:12Speaker 2: Way too many NC State fans in that stadium.
- 23:15Speaker 1: Here's the thing about Nashville instead of Tennessee. It is
- 23:19Speaker 1: the melting pot of a lot of different fans and
- 23:22Speaker 1: fan bases, right?
- 23:23Speaker 3: Sure. And that's the case with the SEC and in
- 23:26Speaker 3: the NFL. You know, you and I growing up, you know,
- 23:29Speaker 3: back in our day.
- 23:30Speaker 1: The Titans moved here and they opened that stadium at
- 23:35Speaker 1: Nissan Stadium in 1999. Prior to that, they're in Memphis.
- 23:39Speaker 1: Prior to that, then they're in Vandy. Coming from Houston.
- 23:43Speaker 1: But here locally, we just got the game of the
- 23:45Speaker 1: week on the networks. So Dallas was shown a lot.
- 23:49Speaker 1: Pittsburgh Steelers, shown a lot. Those are the two teams
- 23:52Speaker 1: that would always meet the Super Bowl or go to
- 23:54Speaker 1: the Super Bowl. We were watching those teams primarily play
- 23:58Speaker 1: week in, week out. In this area, you're a Braves
- 24:00Speaker 1: fan or a Cubs fan?
- 24:02Speaker 3: Most of them.
- 24:03Speaker 1: Because you watch WGN on Prime Star Satellite Television or
- 24:07Speaker 1: watch TBS all the time. I would watch the Super
- 24:09Speaker 1: Station and watch the Braves. Proximity-wise, you could drive to St.
- 24:14Speaker 1: Louis or Cincinnati, but that's it. A lot of Braves fans. I... Also,
- 24:21Speaker 1: specifically with the Titans, the Titans made a huge effort
- 24:25Speaker 1: when they moved here.
- 24:27Speaker 3: And over the last, the first 15 seasons.
- 24:29Speaker 1: I'd say, of the 27, they made a huge effort
- 24:32Speaker 1: to hit areas across the Mid-South, year in and year out,
- 24:37Speaker 1: pockets of the Middle Tennessee and beyond that where fans
- 24:41Speaker 1: wanted to drive in from Knoxville, where fans wanted to
- 24:44Speaker 1: drive in from McMinnville or from Jackson, Union.
- 24:49Speaker 3: City, Bowling Green.
- 24:51Speaker 1: Now it's just like, oh, if you're visiting the city,
- 24:54Speaker 1: pay our hotel tax and come over and walk across
- 24:56Speaker 1: the pedestrian bridge. That's just kind of the nonchalant look
- 25:00Speaker 1: at it that is different. It's Nashville more than it
- 25:03Speaker 1: is the region, right? Those were the fans, the diehards
- 25:10Speaker 1: that were driving in, parking, spending all day.
- 25:11Speaker 3: I mean, who wants to watch?
- 25:13Speaker 1: Whenever the Titans were going over there, was it five
- 25:16Speaker 1: or six straight seasons with a winning record? John Robinson,
- 25:19Speaker 1: at the time, even Malarkey. They got back on the
- 25:22Speaker 1: streak where they were going 9-7, I think, three straight years.
- 25:25Speaker 3: They went 11-5, 12-5.
- 25:25Speaker 1: And then all of a sudden, we started to see
- 25:27Speaker 1: the drop-off. And since then, since 2022, 7-10, 6-11, 3-14, 3-14,
- 25:30Speaker 1: and they're in progress now. I don't want to go
- 25:32Speaker 1: sit in the upper deck with $ 28 tickets where $ 5
- 25:34Speaker 1: goes to ALS. I'd sit at home and I'll donate
- 25:50Speaker 1: money online, especially with the week one performance.
- 25:54Speaker 3: That was trash. Oh, no doubt.
- 25:56Speaker 1: Again, there's just a different vibe with it that used
- 25:59Speaker 1: to be. And with Vanderbilt, I mean, it's tough to
- 26:02Speaker 1: get people to go to Memorial Gym, which is also just,
- 26:06Speaker 1: I shake.
- 26:06Speaker 3: My head out.
- 26:07Speaker 2: Hudnut, and I don't want this to be critical of
- 26:09Speaker 2: Titans fans. Again, I am a Titans fan. I'm not
- 26:12Speaker 2: going to those games.
- 26:13Speaker 3: Right, right, right.
- 26:14Speaker 2: Here are the conditions that would get me to go
- 26:15Speaker 2: to a Titans game right now. Absolutely perfect fall weather.
- 26:19Speaker 2: A free tailgate with friends that I'm allowed to attend.
- 26:23Speaker 2: That's going to be the perfect setup for a tailgate.
- 26:25Speaker 2: And an interesting opponent. I'd want to go see a
- 26:28Speaker 2: great NFL team play there. I'd like to go see
- 26:30Speaker 2: the Eagles play, possibly. But I'm not going to go
- 26:32Speaker 2: watch that game in 100-degree heat. So I'm not critical
- 26:35Speaker 2: of the Titans fans that are either selling their tickets
- 26:37Speaker 2: or just not buying tickets at all. I didn't understand
- 26:41Speaker 2: the Arkansas thing as much. I understand it with the Titans.
- 26:45Speaker 2: I just think on the flip side.
- 26:47Speaker 3: For Vandy....
- 26:49Speaker 2: Your stadium holds 35,000 people, right? It went from 40
- 26:55Speaker 2: to 35. I'm not asking for a 100,000-seat sellout like
- 26:59Speaker 2: we're going to see at Neyland Stadium on Saturday, right?
- 27:02Speaker 2: There was a 100,000-seat sellout for Kennesaw State. I understand
- 27:06Speaker 2: the difference in the fan bases and the markets, right?
- 27:09Speaker 2: Knoxville is not as big of a transplant market. Everybody
- 27:12Speaker 2: there is surrounding that team, unlike Nashville. But we're talking
- 27:16Speaker 2: about a 35,000-seat stadium in a market of 2.15 million
- 27:22Speaker 2: people now. That's the greater Nashville area of surrounding counties
- 27:27Speaker 2: and Davidson County. We can't get 35,000 people in black
- 27:31Speaker 2: and gold, even new fans, that are riding the wave
- 27:34Speaker 2: of this 14-3 run for the team to go to
- 27:37Speaker 2: a game. I mean, NC State, it's not like they're
- 27:40Speaker 2: having a great year for that amount.
- 27:42Speaker 3: Of NC State fans to show up. They get blown out.
- 27:46Speaker 2: In week zero against Virginia, and you have that many
- 27:49Speaker 2: NC State fans buying tickets.
- 27:51Speaker 3: To go to the game? I get that.
- 27:53Speaker 2: Everything everybody's going to say on the YouTube channel and
- 27:54Speaker 2: everywhere else, yes, Nashville's a destination city. Yes, it's hot. Yes,
- 27:59Speaker 2: the Titans have sucked. Yes, all these things are true. Again,
- 28:03Speaker 2: I understand it with the Eagles fans taking over the stadium.
- 28:07Speaker 3: It's not great.
- 28:08Speaker 2: If you're the Titans, you can't sit back and just
- 28:10Speaker 2: act like, oh, everything's fine. That's just what happens here.
- 28:13Speaker 2: I don't understand it with Vandy.
- 28:14Speaker 3: I really don't.
- 28:15Speaker 2: It needs to be better than what we saw on Saturday.
- 28:18Speaker 3: It is remarkable, though. Even during the winning seasons, we
- 28:23Speaker 3: would see takeovers of fan bases in that stadium.
- 28:25Speaker 1: Steelers, Vikings. The Vikings really surprised me. And I don't
- 28:30Speaker 1: know how to measure this. Chiefs have taken it over before.
- 28:33Speaker 3: Absolutely. Patriots have come close. I agree. Yes, that's a
- 28:37Speaker 3: good one. Raiders. Raiders also.
- 28:40Speaker 1: But there are the fan bases and then there are
- 28:44Speaker 1: just the small market teams. The Chiefs kingdom, as they
- 28:49Speaker 1: call it, is legit. That's the closest thing in the
- 28:52Speaker 1: NFL to a college football atmosphere. Having been there several times,
- 28:55Speaker 1: you've been there too.
- 28:56Speaker 3: You would agree?
- 28:57Speaker 1: That it feels it's the closest thing to a game
- 29:01Speaker 1: day in college football, like where no matter what, that's my,
- 29:05Speaker 1: that's my alma mater.
- 29:06Speaker 3: Buffalo. Buffalo is another good one. That's taken off.
- 29:09Speaker 2: Yes.
- 29:09Speaker 3: Buffalo to me, Buffalo and Kansas city. Perfect examples. Probably
- 29:13Speaker 3: green Bay too.
- 29:14Speaker 2: I've never been there and tailgated for a game, but
- 29:15Speaker 2: the most collegiate of atmospheres. And a lot of that's
- 29:18Speaker 2: because the setup around the stadium is not metropolitan, right?
- 29:22Speaker 2: You're like in a field tailgating somewhere for those places.
- 29:24Speaker 1: And having bust in there with the team, That's an
- 29:27Speaker 1: early morning, and they are out tailgating, and they're out
- 29:31Speaker 1: in mass.
- 29:32Speaker 3: It's just what you do.
- 29:33Speaker 1: It's the march to the season.
- 29:40Speaker 3: Said.
- 29:41Speaker 1: You just go. You go because it's church. That's how
- 29:44Speaker 1: I would describe it. This used to be that area.
- 29:47Speaker 1: The Titans, you did do that, but everyone believed in
- 29:52Speaker 1: what they were doing. The new stadium, they're going to
- 29:55Speaker 1: have any problems selling at this stadium, but we're going
- 29:57Speaker 1: to see more and more of the different colors, not
- 30:00Speaker 1: just the Titans Columbia blue, so to speak. How about
- 30:05Speaker 1: Jeffrey Simmons, though? I understand what he was saying about
- 30:09Speaker 1: Jalen Hurts. We're going to make him a quarterback. You
- 30:14Speaker 1: want him to stay in the pocket is what that means.
- 30:16Speaker 1: But they were spinning that into, they took exception to
- 30:22Speaker 1: it in the Philly locker room. I love what Hurts
- 30:24Speaker 1: said to him. He was like, you started this, I
- 30:26Speaker 1: had to finish it. It was terrific.
- 30:29Speaker 2: As he was doing the post-game interview on the field,
- 30:32Speaker 2: you started this, I had to finish it, and the smile.
- 30:35Speaker 2: And Jeffrey Simmons handed it like a man, too. He
- 30:37Speaker 2: went to him, shook his hand, and nodded, said something
- 30:40Speaker 2: else back to him. He played well. Jeffrey Simmons also, look,
- 30:45Speaker 2: never going to be a good look. You've got to
- 30:47Speaker 2: wait until the clock hits zero. I'm not one that's
- 30:51Speaker 2: going to clutch Pearls. over grabbing his crotch or yelling
- 30:55Speaker 2: at a fan base, who I'm sure yelled far worse
- 30:57Speaker 2: to him the entire game. It wasn't like he was
- 31:00Speaker 2: doing it into a camera or a microphone. The good
- 31:04Speaker 2: lesson here would be someone's always filming whatever you're doing
- 31:08Speaker 2: in an NFL game on the sidelines, so it's going
- 31:10Speaker 2: to be caught by someone and a fan happen to
- 31:12Speaker 2: capture you gesturing yourself saying, S my D, as he's.
- 31:17Speaker 3: Yelling at the crowd, right? He played LSU's head. He
- 31:19Speaker 3: was playing head. Yeah, yeah. Not a good look. Like, look,
- 31:24Speaker 3: you wait. Like, you know. You know better.
- 31:26Speaker 2: You've still got to go out and play defense. You're
- 31:29Speaker 2: about to be back on the field. You just took
- 31:31Speaker 2: a three-point lead. There's plenty of time left. It's like
- 31:34Speaker 2: there's seven seconds left in the game. I mean, this
- 31:37Speaker 2: celebration would have been more appropriate had the Titans won.
- 31:42Speaker 3: Okay?
- 31:42Speaker 2: I'm not saying he should have done it. If I'm
- 31:44Speaker 2: his coach, I'm not telling him to go celebrate that way.
- 31:47Speaker 2: But point being, you just look really dumb when you
- 31:50Speaker 2: do this before the clock hits zero.
- 31:53Speaker 1: Yes, and Hurts didn't play his best at all. But
- 31:57Speaker 1: that's exactly the precision. Man, Devontae Smith, what a player, dude.
- 32:04Speaker 2: By the way, how does a receiver get that open
- 32:07Speaker 2: from the two-yard line with that many bodies on an
- 32:10Speaker 2: NFL field? I mean, that's hard to do, right? Like,
- 32:13Speaker 2: you've got so much congestion there on a pass play,
- 32:16Speaker 2: and there are so many bodies in that end zone.
- 32:18Speaker 2: I mean, he had to leap up to catch it.
- 32:20Speaker 2: There wasn't anyone within five yards of him somehow. I mean,
- 32:22Speaker 2: how do you not have someone in the middle of
- 32:25Speaker 2: the end zone just spying or around the area? I
- 32:27Speaker 2: don't know what type of man to man. I don't
- 32:29Speaker 2: know what the play call was defensively, but I can't
- 32:32Speaker 2: imagine a scenario unless three guys fall down and trip
- 32:35Speaker 2: over themselves that you're going to have a receiver that open.
- 32:38Speaker 3: Credits due.
- 32:39Speaker 1: We've got a look ahead to the SEC weekend and
- 32:43Speaker 1: much more throughout the week here on Hard Rock Bet
- 32:47Speaker 1: and Hunt and Withrow. We take a look at the
- 32:49Speaker 1: weekend and what we made. We find out what we
- 32:52Speaker 1: made and much more straight ahead here on Hunt and Withrow.

- 33:08Speaker 1: Speaking of Clay, who is the founder and owner of
- 33:11Speaker 1: Sport and State, you get the official Nashville Balls gear
- 33:13Speaker 1: through XXXY Athletics. Founded by Jennifer Say, former national champion gymnast,
- 33:18Speaker 1: former Levi's brand president. She walked away from a corporate
- 33:21Speaker 1: job rather than saying something that she didn't believe. She
- 33:24Speaker 1: started XXXY Athletics instead. Their mission, in their words, is
- 33:27Speaker 1: to empower female athletes and take a stand for fair competition.
- 33:31Speaker 1: They call it the T that launched a movement. It's
- 33:33Speaker 1: real athletic apparel, Chad, and it's Nashville Balls gear.
- 33:36Speaker 3: That's right.
- 33:37Speaker 2: Tees, trucker hats. You can get it right now with XXXY.
- 33:41Speaker 2: New customers also get 20% off your first order when
- 33:43Speaker 2: you sign up and free shipping over $ 100. XXXYathletics.com. That's XX-XYathletics.com.
- 33:51Speaker 1: Chad, we'll get to the NFL quarterbacks briefly, though, just
- 33:54Speaker 1: to set up the SEC week that we have ahead.
- 33:57Speaker 3: ABC on Saturday. Texas and Tennessee. That's at noon Eastern.
- 34:02Speaker 3: Ole Miss, Florida.
- 34:04Speaker 1: And then you have Texas A & M and LSU.
- 34:07Speaker 1: and then also Oklahoma, Georgia, Missouri, and Mississippi State. Those
- 34:11Speaker 1: are also top 25 matchups.
- 34:13Speaker 3: Let's go. Here we go, man.
- 34:15Speaker 1: This is week four, and plenty at stake for these programs.
- 34:22Speaker 1: A lot to get to this week. I'm excited about it.
- 34:25Speaker 2: There's so much to talk about, and also at some
- 34:28Speaker 2: point this week, I just jotted it down, but Tennessee
- 34:31Speaker 2: has a celebrity guest picker issue. I think, for this
- 34:34Speaker 2: week that we're going to have to talk about for
- 34:36Speaker 2: ESPN College Game Day and who the selection should be.
- 34:39Speaker 2: I'm going to give you right now an outside-the-box one
- 34:43Speaker 2: that I think is a possibility.
- 34:45Speaker 3: Say it now so you get in front of this.
- 34:48Speaker 2: Yes. Kevin Hart. Kevin Hart's son is on the track
- 34:53Speaker 2: team at Tennessee. He was at the game Saturday night
- 34:58Speaker 2: against Kennesaw State. He goes to a lot of the games.
- 35:01Speaker 2: He's on the sideline or he's in a suite. I
- 35:03Speaker 2: think he's sort of an adopted Tennessee fan with his
- 35:06Speaker 2: son going to school at Tennessee.
- 35:09Speaker 3: I could see ESPN.
- 35:11Speaker 2: Pulling in Kevin Hart, especially, you know, they're going to
- 35:14Speaker 2: be on the field when they pick. So the first
- 35:16Speaker 2: two hours will be on the Hill. Then for the
- 35:18Speaker 2: final hour of the show, because the game kicks off
- 35:20Speaker 2: right when they sign off, they're going to go down
- 35:22Speaker 2: on the field for that, that picks section. So it's
- 35:25Speaker 2: not like you're going to have crowd reacting to the picks.
- 35:27Speaker 2: You're going to have the pregame going on as they're picking. Um,
- 35:30Speaker 2: I'll go ahead and get out in front of him,
- 35:31Speaker 2: but I think that Kevin Hart could be a possibility
- 35:34Speaker 2: to be the celebrity guest picker. Don't really know how
- 35:36Speaker 2: I feel about that. I don't think of Kevin Hart
- 35:38Speaker 2: as a Tennessee guy, but he's a huge star. So,
- 35:41Speaker 2: you know, you could do worse in terms of star
- 35:43Speaker 2: power to have there on game day.
- 35:46Speaker 1: Some star power injuries. Caleb Williams with the hammy. We'll
- 35:52Speaker 1: get to that in a moment. I want to get
- 35:53Speaker 1: his reaction. But Jaden Daniels and Tom Brady's reaction to
- 35:58Speaker 1: the arm elbow injury On Fox.
- 36:04Speaker 3: Oh, shit. Oh, no.
- 36:09Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 36:11Speaker 3: Sorry. Apologies.
- 36:13Speaker 2: Apologies. There was the real Brady creeping into the broadcast,
- 36:16Speaker 2: just that initial reaction. That is the reaction of a
- 36:21Speaker 2: guy who's lost a season to injury, and he knows
- 36:24Speaker 2: the Jaden Daniels history with that.
- 36:26Speaker 3: Yes.
- 36:27Speaker 2: You see just such a– what looks like an inconsequential
- 36:30Speaker 2: play where he gets tripped by his own offensive lineman
- 36:33Speaker 2: and stumbling down and then tries to brace himself. And immediately,
- 36:37Speaker 2: you know, like, okay, that thing's dislocated again. The subluxation
- 36:41Speaker 2: or whatever it is of the elbow.
- 36:43Speaker 3: Really unfortunate.
- 36:44Speaker 2: I was watching it live and I kept rewinding it.
- 36:46Speaker 2: Listen to Brady right here. That is the immediate raw
- 36:49Speaker 2: reaction on Mike to it. He felt for Jaden Daniels.
- 36:54Speaker 2: I mean, we all feel for Jaden Daniels in that one.
- 36:56Speaker 3: That was.
- 36:57Speaker 2: That was crazy. All the emotion, everything surrounding that, completely justified.
- 37:01Speaker 2: I was, however, a bit put off by Caleb Williams
- 37:05Speaker 2: giving the Kobe Bryant salute and tearful exit because of
- 37:09Speaker 2: a hamstring injury in that game. I mean, he was
- 37:13Speaker 2: acting like his career was over when he was getting
- 37:15Speaker 2: carted off the field.
- 37:16Speaker 3: That was a bit odd.
- 37:18Speaker 1: He's full of drama. But, man, he's been playing well. And,
- 37:23Speaker 1: I mean, I– There's the player, and then there's the
- 37:30Speaker 1: personality with Caleb Williams. I can't get past the personality
- 37:34Speaker 1: part of it. It bugs me, quite frankly. But the
- 37:37Speaker 1: player is hard to bet against. Going back to the
- 37:41Speaker 1: Jay Daniels thing, just briefly, Chad, there's something about players
- 37:46Speaker 1: who just have a tendency now to get hurt versus
- 37:50Speaker 1: guys who don't. And I feel like we're seeing that
- 37:53Speaker 1: with Jay Daniels' play on real time. Joe Burrow is
- 37:56Speaker 1: another one.
- 37:57Speaker 2: That's what it feels like with him, too.
- 38:00Speaker 1: Yes, because last year with Daniels battling back, trying to
- 38:02Speaker 1: get back to the injury, now he's healthy coming into
- 38:04Speaker 1: this year, and then you see this happen. There's just
- 38:08Speaker 1: a trend with it. Meanwhile, you've got guys like Patrick Mahomes.
- 38:12Speaker 1: Rarely does he miss any time. He gets banged up,
- 38:15Speaker 1: but there's just different expectations of guys that are going
- 38:21Speaker 1: to go down. I'm with you on Burrow. I'm expecting
- 38:23Speaker 1: that to happen, too. he's already got the shoulder.
- 38:26Speaker 3: Issue, you know, going into the game.
- 38:28Speaker 2: And you're spot on, too. Like, Josh Allen's a guy
- 38:30Speaker 2: who's very durable, too. Like, you're just not ever expecting
- 38:32Speaker 2: him to get hurt. And when Patrick Mahomes loses the
- 38:36Speaker 2: end of a season for an ACL tear, it's like
- 38:39Speaker 2: it becomes a superhero origin story for him when he
- 38:42Speaker 2: goes and gets it repaired.
- 38:43Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah.
- 38:44Speaker 2: He comes back, and he looks great. He looks better
- 38:47Speaker 2: than he has in two years.
- 38:49Speaker 3: Right.
- 38:50Speaker 2: The Chiefs look way better. I mean, it's a different–
- 38:53Speaker 2: he was– Sorry, Cam Ward, but Patrick Mahomes was throwing
- 38:56Speaker 2: seeds last night in that football game. I mean, he
- 39:00Speaker 2: is all the way back, and I think the Chiefs
- 39:03Speaker 2: are all the way back. And sadly, back is the
- 39:06Speaker 2: word for Joe Burrow, and it's tightness in his back.
- 39:09Speaker 2: That Jaden Daniels gets hurt again, that's just– you see
- 39:12Speaker 2: it all the time. The guys that have the propensity
- 39:15Speaker 2: to get hurt, and I've definitely seen that with Daniels. Unfortunately,
- 39:19Speaker 2: we've seen that with Joe Burrow. I don't know about
- 39:22Speaker 2: Caleb Williams. I mean, this should be like a two-week thing, right?
- 39:25Speaker 2: A strained hamstring?
- 39:26Speaker 3: It depends. It depends on the severity of it. It
- 39:29Speaker 3: could be a... a month or so. It could be.
- 39:33Speaker 2: I hope he's back soon. We want to see the
- 39:36Speaker 2: Stars play. And certainly don't want to see those guys
- 39:39Speaker 2: get hurt. But the Bears go from scoring 59 points
- 39:41Speaker 2: in week one to three in week two. That's a
- 39:45Speaker 2: big swing from week one to week two for the
- 39:47Speaker 2: Chicago Bears.
- 39:48Speaker 3: Yeah, no doubt, man.
- 39:49Speaker 1: Hey, brief break, and then what about our locks, our
- 39:52Speaker 1: Hard Rock locks? We'll tell you how we did. Love
- 39:54Speaker 1: to know how you did. You can tell us in
- 39:56Speaker 1: the chat right now, at Hudney Withrow on YouTube. We'll
- 39:59Speaker 1: discuss our wins and look ahead to what we're looking
- 40:03Speaker 1: at that's next here on Hudney Withrow. Hard Rock bets.

- 40:24Speaker 1: other bonus bets and boosts for you as well. On
- 40:28Speaker 1: the site, you've got Monday Night Football coming up this evening.
- 40:31Speaker 1: Rams and Giants. Chad, I'm taking the Giants and the
- 40:35Speaker 1: points here, by the way. The two New York teams
- 40:39Speaker 1: playing well. I know the Jets gave it up yesterday,
- 40:42Speaker 1: but We're seeing some decent play out of the Jets
- 40:45Speaker 1: and Giants, which is unusual this time of year. I'm
- 40:48Speaker 1: going to ride the Giants on the road against the
- 40:51Speaker 1: Los Angeles Rams.
- 40:54Speaker 2: I think I'm going to go Cam Scadaboo a touchdown
- 40:56Speaker 2: in this game. It's going to be my play for tonight.
- 40:59Speaker 3: Anytime touchdown. The man is a touchdown-making machine. What did
- 41:03Speaker 3: he say about Aaron Donald? He's like, if he plays
- 41:05Speaker 3: and we have to meet in the hole, so be it.
- 41:08Speaker 2: It sounded like Yvonne Drago in Rocky IV when he says,
- 41:11Speaker 2: if he dies, he dies.
- 41:12Speaker 3: It's like a It's a battle of the bastards is
- 41:14Speaker 3: what this is.
- 41:15Speaker 2: With Apollo Creed actually dying in the ring during the
- 41:18Speaker 2: post-battle interview, he just says if he dies, he dies.
- 41:22Speaker 2: That sounds like something Cam Scadavo might say at some
- 41:24Speaker 2: point in his career.
- 41:25Speaker 3: I'd say this jokingly, but one man leaves concussed is
- 41:28Speaker 3: what this is. Oh, yeah.
- 41:30Speaker 2: Two men enter, one man will leave concussed. I've got
- 41:34Speaker 2: a pretty good bet. I know they don't offer odds
- 41:36Speaker 2: on that, but I've got a pretty.
- 41:37Speaker 3: Good bet on who I'd be taking who leaves concussed
- 41:40Speaker 3: in that meeting.
- 41:41Speaker 1: Yeah, there's Goliath and there's David. We'll find out what
- 41:44Speaker 1: happens here with this. David's not afraid. Chad, well done.
- 41:50Speaker 1: You're back to back now on your hard rock lock
- 41:54Speaker 1: of the week. Tremendous job. You had Georgia minus 24
- 41:59Speaker 1: and a half and crushed it.
- 42:02Speaker 3: They win by 28.
- 42:03Speaker 2: I didn't know that I was going to have so
- 42:04Speaker 2: much help from Arkansas and their fans boycotting the game.
- 42:07Speaker 2: So thank you, Razorback Nation, for making the game and
- 42:11Speaker 2: the spectacle more about no one being in the tailgate
- 42:13Speaker 2: area and no one going to the game.
- 42:16Speaker 3: But I felt good about it.
- 42:17Speaker 2: Georgia is, because they haven't played anybody good yet, an
- 42:22Speaker 2: overlooked team right now. We're going to start to know
- 42:24Speaker 2: more about them starting this week. They get Oklahoma. But
- 42:28Speaker 2: this Georgia team is a machine. Gunnar Stockton as a
- 42:32Speaker 2: veteran quarterback, he's got better weapons around him. They are
- 42:35Speaker 2: explosive offensively. You still get the same Kirby smart defense
- 42:40Speaker 2: with this group. They're my preseason pick to win the SEC.
- 42:43Speaker 2: And I think that game says so much about Georgia
- 42:46Speaker 2: and their workmanlike approach. Did you see Kirby Smart talking
- 42:49Speaker 2: about one of the defensive players for Georgia was like
- 42:52Speaker 2: running and doing drills on the sideline during the game
- 42:55Speaker 2: when the offense.
- 42:56Speaker 3: Was on the field? Practicing, yeah. And they said, what
- 42:58Speaker 3: was he doing?
- 42:59Speaker 2: He said, we weren't getting enough work in. The other
- 43:01Speaker 2: team wasn't being physical enough. They weren't on the field
- 43:03Speaker 2: long enough. So we have to play to a standard
- 43:06Speaker 2: of getting work in while we're out there. So he's
- 43:08Speaker 2: over there working on the side on his own because
- 43:10Speaker 2: Arkansas is not giving him enough work in the game. Boy,
- 43:14Speaker 2: I can't imagine a worse insult– to a football team
- 43:19Speaker 2: than hearing that from Kirby Smart.
- 43:21Speaker 3: But also, that's a pretty.
- 43:22Speaker 2: Big compliment to the type of team that Kirby Smart
- 43:25Speaker 2: has this year.
- 43:26Speaker 1: And now with NIL, the talent is more scattered. But
- 43:30Speaker 1: I believe it when Alabama and Georgia players would enter
- 43:33Speaker 1: the NFL and say that the practices in college were
- 43:37Speaker 1: more competitive and more difficult skill-wise than what they were
- 43:42Speaker 1: facing in the NFL during camp.
- 43:45Speaker 3: I believe it. And also, you know, the Vols.
- 43:50Speaker 1: Joey Kent would always say, our practices were far, far
- 43:54Speaker 1: more difficult to make plays in than the actual game.
- 43:57Speaker 3: Game was easy. I think about that and go, how?
- 44:01Speaker 1: But, you know, it's an insult to Arkansas, but I mean,
- 44:05Speaker 1: I guess if Georgia's playing Bama, if Georgia's playing Tennessee,
- 44:08Speaker 1: if Kirby's over there giving another practice, that'll be something
- 44:11Speaker 1: to see for sure. Hey, I missed on my luck.
- 44:14Speaker 1: I had the Titans under 17.5 total points for the game,
- 44:20Speaker 1: and they hit 20. That last field goal is what
- 44:23Speaker 1: did it, too. The last field goal, and you know
- 44:25Speaker 1: what else? That interception.
- 44:27Speaker 3: The offense wasn't moving the football.
- 44:30Speaker 1: The interception that set them up inside the 10 allowed
- 44:34Speaker 1: that early touchdown. But I did hit on a four-leg
- 44:36Speaker 1: parlay where I won $ 58.
- 44:39Speaker 3: Let's go.
- 44:39Speaker 1: Plus $ 8.
- 44:41Speaker 3: 47 on this.
- 44:45Speaker 1: Uh but it was uh an NFL parlay over uh
- 44:48Speaker 1: any type of touchdown for Josh Allen uh Jameer Gibbs
- 44:51Speaker 1: over 30 and a half receiving yards uh under total
- 44:54Speaker 1: yards for Jameer Gibbs on Thursday night and then uh
- 44:57Speaker 1: over 50 total points for the game I don't I
- 44:59Speaker 1: don't even remember uh doing that but there's my four
- 45:02Speaker 1: leg parlay that was a bonus bet at hardrock.bet slash
- 45:06Speaker 1: clay We'll.
- 45:08Speaker 2: Get more into the weeds of Cam Ward and his
- 45:10Speaker 2: performance and development or lack thereof as the week goes on.
- 45:15Speaker 2: I thought he was better in this game. I also
- 45:18Speaker 2: think we're seeing a lack of confidence from the head
- 45:23Speaker 2: coach and offensive coordinator in Cam Ward, and I understand it.
- 45:27Speaker 2: With play calling on third and throwing situations, a lot
- 45:30Speaker 2: of draw plays, and I understand where they're coming from
- 45:33Speaker 2: on that because it's just still not good enough. Thirteen
- 45:35Speaker 2: points for the offense when you take away the seven
- 45:37Speaker 2: They were gifted on the 90-yard interception return.
- 45:40Speaker 3: Hey, final minute here.
- 45:44Speaker 1: Early on, I took Tennessee plus five and a half
- 45:48Speaker 1: against Texas.
- 45:49Speaker 3: Do you think I made a mistake there?
- 45:51Speaker 2: Well, I would say no, because that line's already moved
- 45:54Speaker 2: to three and a half. So early money was all
- 45:57Speaker 2: on the Vols at that minus five and a half number.
- 46:00Speaker 2: It is now at hard rock bet. I just checked it.
- 46:02Speaker 2: Clay Travis just posted it. It is Texas minus three
- 46:06Speaker 2: and a half, which I think surprise some people. It
- 46:08Speaker 2: does not surprise me. I think Texas is better than
- 46:11Speaker 2: Tennessee right now, especially with Tennessee going with a freshman quarterback.
- 46:14Speaker 3: But, Hudson, we've seen it.
- 46:16Speaker 2: I would be way more tempted. We'll get to picks
- 46:18Speaker 2: later in the week. I'd be way more tempted to
- 46:20Speaker 2: pick the Vols if this game was at night or
- 46:22Speaker 2: late afternoon like we.
- 46:23Speaker 3: Saw in that Alabama game.
- 46:25Speaker 2: I think it's a huge gift to Texas if this
- 46:27Speaker 2: game is at 11 a.m. I really think that's a
- 46:30Speaker 2: big gift to them in this game.
- 46:32Speaker 3: I totally agree, man.
- 46:33Speaker 1: Hey, great shows coming up throughout the day here at
- 46:36Speaker 1: Sporting State. Next round is coming up literally a minute
- 46:40Speaker 1: from now. Hope you'll join them. Thanks for joining us,
- 46:42Speaker 1: Hunt and Withrow. We're presented by Hard Rock Bet.
