- 0:30Hey you guys, welcome to day three of the shift preview
- 0:35calls. We're so happy that you're here
- 0:37and you're joining us today. OK, a few things I want to start
- 0:42out with, I spent all day yesterday or not all day
- 0:46yesterday, but my second preview call with my shared screen on.
- 0:50So I want to make sure that you guys are just seeing me and
- 0:55nothing else. If you could put in the chat
- 0:59that you can and here you can see me good.
- 1:01It is just on me on the screen. And then also I want to make
- 1:05this interactive. So feel free, introduce
- 1:07yourself, let us know where you're from and what you're kind
- 1:10of hoping to get from today on the training.
- 1:13That would be awesome. OK, good.
- 1:15Thanks Jim. All good.
- 1:16Perfect. I'm not going to go a whole
- 1:19nother day with just the shared screen on.
- 1:21OK, I want to have so much fun on this call.
- 1:24This is the last of the three days of the calls and I, I kind
- 1:30of want to go rogue a little bit and just kind of get out of the
- 1:35stiffness of just doing a training and you guys watching
- 1:37that. So I was just on a training last
- 1:40week and it was so funny. The lady who was doing the
- 1:44training was like, we're going to pump our arms for five
- 1:48seconds together. And I was like, OK, so let's do
- 1:51that today. I felt like so energized after
- 1:54doing it and I was recording some content for you guys
- 1:59yesterday for a couple hours and I did this right before and it
- 2:01felt so good. So feel free to join me but or
- 2:05if you're listening, I feel free to do it as well.
- 2:08But I'm just going to put my arms for the 1st 5 seconds.
- 2:12You're using my energy. It put me, it puts me in
- 2:14momentum. So I want to start out.
- 2:17If this is your first day joining us on this training, I
- 2:21want to welcome you. I know there's lots of different
- 2:24things that you can be doing with your hours, so I'm just
- 2:27grateful that you're here. I hope you get some motivation,
- 2:31some inspiration, and you really tap into your desires and your
- 2:34goals on this call. That is going to be the goal of
- 2:36this call for me. My name is Janessa Dean.
- 2:39I've been a certified life coach for the last.
- 2:41I said I put down four years, but I think it's been about five
- 2:44years now. I've coached hundreds of people
- 2:46both one-on-one and inside of my groups and my programs, and I
- 2:51really have helped them create confidence in creating whatever
- 2:54result they want or going for their goals and helping them do
- 2:57it in a shorter amount of time. I also run a program called the
- 3:01Flight Para Academy. It's for nurses and medics that
- 3:03want to specifically get into flight or flight para medicine.
- 3:06And I just opened up a new program called The Shift, and
- 3:10I'm going to be talking to you about that a little bit later on
- 3:12this call. Just a couple things.
- 3:15Looks like the chat box is working, so feel free to put
- 3:18anything in the chat there, any questions that you might have or
- 3:21any answers to the questions that I'm going to be offering
- 3:24you guys today. What the call is going to look
- 3:26like is very similar. If you watch the other days, I'm
- 3:28going to do a small little teaching portion at the
- 3:30beginning and then I'm going to open it up for coaching.
- 3:34So feel free when it comes to that point.
- 3:36There's a raise hand down at the bottom.
- 3:39It either says raise hand or react.
- 3:41I know some of the versions are a little bit different, so when
- 3:44you push that down to the bottom, you can raise your hand
- 3:47and we can discuss the questions or you guys can get some
- 3:51coaching on what's coming up for you.
- 3:53And also today I wanted to open it up.
- 3:55We've talked about a couple different things over the past
- 3:58couple days. We talked about creating
- 4:00confidence and uncertainty on Monday, and then yesterday we
- 4:05talked about creating momentum. And so if you guys want coaching
- 4:09on any of the past two days or any of these questions today, I
- 4:12want to open that up to you guys too.
- 4:15OK, any questions about that? I, the videos that I was
- 4:23recording for you yesterday, I wanted to talk to you guys about
- 4:26this for a second. So for those of you guys who
- 4:29don't know, this is my 4th career change.
- 4:31And I've been thinking about this a lot lately actually,
- 4:34because I used to give myself or have a lot of like, not
- 4:40embarrassment, but maybe a little bit of shame about
- 4:43changing careers and doing it four times.
- 4:46And I'm like, why am I the person who just gets bored after
- 4:48three or four years and then moves to something else?
- 4:51And what I've been realizing as I've been thinking about all
- 4:54these really big identity shifts that I made.
- 4:57So I went from a degree in communications with an emphasis
- 5:00in broadcast journalism. And then I moved into banking.
- 5:03And I did banking for five years.
- 5:05And then from banking, I moved into nursing.
- 5:07And I have been a nurse for the last, I don't even know how many
- 5:11years. And I went into flight nursing
- 5:13with that. And then when I was a flight
- 5:15nurse, and I did that for about 6 1/2 seven years, I moved fully
- 5:18into life coaching and retired from nursing.
- 5:21And I think about each of those shifts.
- 5:25And I think like now looking at it, I think it requires so much
- 5:30resilience, so much courage, so much like just grit to go for
- 5:35what you really want and to go all in.
- 5:38And I think like, I don't, I no longer think of this as like
- 5:42this is my weakness and changing identities.
- 5:45I think of this as my greatest gift, Like this is my greatest
- 5:48power to have so much resilience, to think about not
- 5:51only what I want, but to listen to it, to meet the resistance of
- 5:55changing identities and then to have the courage to go all in.
- 5:59And really I went all in. I completely retired from
- 6:02nursing and went all in on growing my business.
- 6:05And the result of that is not only doing a career and living a
- 6:12life that I know that I'm meant to be living, but I realize that
- 6:16I can create whatever I want if I listen to that whisper and if
- 6:20I'm willing to really go through the hard.
- 6:22And so I, I want to offer you guys today in the teaching
- 6:27portion to be thinking about what you want to create, what
- 6:32you know you are meant to be doing on this earth and really
- 6:36lean into it. And for this next hour, I want
- 6:39to give you guys or offer for you to give yourself permission
- 6:44to want what you want and give yourself permission to ask
- 6:47yourself, what is it that I desire?
- 6:50And in this hour to really think about it and really go for it
- 6:54and be all in with it. OK, that's what I want to start
- 6:57with before we go into the teaching portion.
- 6:59OK, so today I'm going to sum up kind of like everything that we
- 7:03talked about the last two days. Today I'm going to talk to you
- 7:05about my process that I go through in decluttering my
- 7:08brain. I think decluttering your brain
- 7:11is so important. As a human, we have thousands
- 7:15and thousands of thoughts every day, and the key is the thoughts
- 7:19that we spend the most time with.
- 7:21That's how we are going to go out there and take actions and
- 7:25what we're going to feel and then what we're going to create
- 7:27and the results we're going to create.
- 7:29So for example, if we're spending a lot of time with
- 7:33negative thoughts about ourselves and beating ourselves
- 7:35up, that's the result that we're going to create, that we're
- 7:39going to create negative thoughts, negative emotions on
- 7:43the daily. And here's the thing, before I
- 7:46found life coaching, I think I had spent 35 years of my life
- 7:52beating myself up and getting to my goals.
- 7:54And they worked. It worked.
- 7:57But I realized I can beat myself up all the way to my goal or I
- 8:01can have compassion and love on myself all the way to it too.
- 8:04And which one is going to feel better if I know that I'm the
- 8:06person that's going to get there no matter what.
- 8:08So this is really what decluttering your brain will
- 8:11help you do is help you realize what are the thoughts that
- 8:15you're spending the most time with and what are they creating
- 8:18for you by spending time and listening to those ones and
- 8:21letting those ones be louder. So something that I do every
- 8:26morning is I spend time every morning, I like to type things
- 8:30out instead of write things or journal things that I know some
- 8:33of you guys like to journal. So however, whatever is the way
- 8:36that you want to just like get your thoughts out.
- 8:38Another thing that I sometimes do is on my phone, I'll go to
- 8:41the notes section and I'll just type out everything that I'm
- 8:44thinking. So spend time before you start
- 8:47in the action of doing whatever is on your To Do List or your
- 8:50work or whatever, just typing out or letting out all of your
- 8:54thoughts. And what I mean by this is not
- 8:59censoring what you're putting down, but just letting it flow
- 9:03and letting it go all out without judgement of them.
- 9:07And let them freely come out. Even negative, good, bad, ugly,
- 9:12everything in between, let it come out.
- 9:14In this process, I also like to take myself to the worst case
- 9:19scenario. So oftentimes a lot of the
- 9:21people that I coach are like, well, I don't I don't even want
- 9:24to think about this because then what if this happens and I don't
- 9:27want to think about the worst case scenario And I actually
- 9:30tell them when our brains offering us that it wants us to
- 9:33answer it, it wants us to take it all the way through.
- 9:36There is some power in taking your worst case scenario all the
- 9:39way through. So I'm going to give you an
- 9:41example since I've worked with a lot of healthcare workers and
- 9:441st responders. Some of their biggest worst case
- 9:47scenario is their patient coding.
- 9:48And I'm like, OK, let's do it. Let's go there, let's have your
- 9:52patient code. And they're like, OK, and we
- 9:55walked them through the coding patient, what do they do?
- 9:58What drugs they do? What are their resources?
- 10:00And they're like, oh, that's not so scary, That's not so bad.
- 10:05And so I want to offer for you, our brain wants us to go to the
- 10:09worst case scenario sometimes. So this is the perfect time to
- 10:12do it in the morning when you are spending time getting it all
- 10:16out with the worst case scenario.
- 10:18We fear going there sometimes because I think we think it's
- 10:21going to happen. And what I want to offer you
- 10:23guys is if you let yourself go there, you let yourself play it
- 10:27all out, there's so much power in that.
- 10:30And also you realize that the only thing that you're fearing
- 10:34is the feeling of when the worst case scenario happens.
- 10:37And sometimes that's fear, sometimes that's doubt,
- 10:41sometimes that's imposter syndrome.
- 10:43And if we allow it to play all out, then we're like, oh, that's
- 10:47the feeling. And also, this is just what it's
- 10:50like to feel it. And that's OK.
- 10:51It's not going to overtake me. It's when we resist it and we
- 10:55push it down, we push down, we push it down, that's when it
- 10:57becomes a huge monster. So we want to let it all play
- 11:00out so that we can figure out what is that emotion and that we
- 11:03can realize, oh, we're not going to die feeling it.
- 11:06And we can start to work through it and process through it.
- 11:09OK, so something to be thinking about as you're doing this
- 11:12exercise. I don't censor anything good,
- 11:15bad, ugly thoughts of me. Sometimes just putting him down
- 11:18on paper helps me recognize, OK, where is my brain staring me?
- 11:21And I want you to be thinking about as you're journaling, as
- 11:25you're typing these things out, what feelings are coming up for
- 11:28you? What are you noticing?
- 11:30What are the thoughts that you're noticing you're spending
- 11:32most time with? What are the predominant ones
- 11:35that are coming out? And I want you to think about
- 11:37what are you spending more time with versus what are the ones
- 11:41that are the background noise? So the way I like to think about
- 11:45this is I don't go to the zoo anymore because my kids are
- 11:50older, but when they were younger, they loved going to the
- 11:52zoo. And you know how there's like
- 11:56there's certain exhibits where there's a lot more people like
- 11:59the monkeys or the lions or the snakes.
- 12:01And those are just the ones that I think people fear the most
- 12:04too. And so I think about it like
- 12:07going to the zoo, your brains walking through the zoo every
- 12:10day and it's hearing the monkeys over here and it's hearing the
- 12:13lions over here and it's hearing the snakes or the giraffes and
- 12:19everybody over here. But what are you spending time
- 12:23with? So we could be spending time
- 12:25with being like, OK, the snakes are over here.
- 12:28I'm really, really, really scared of them.
- 12:30And then you could be honing in on them.
- 12:32And then that's affecting the rest of your enjoyment of the
- 12:37rest of the zoo because you're like, Oh my gosh, I'm really,
- 12:39I'm scared of the snakes. I'm scared they're going to
- 12:41break loose. And you're noticing that all the
- 12:46time that you're spending thinking about the snakes, it's
- 12:49having you. It's taking you out of the
- 12:51enjoyment of the rest of the day of going through the zoo.
- 12:56And So what you want to be thinking about is OK, where is
- 13:00your, is your brain chatter going?
- 13:03What are the thoughts or the things that it's spending most
- 13:06time with? How are you feeling because you
- 13:09are spending time with those thoughts.
- 13:11What are actions are you taking? What actions are you not taking?
- 13:15And oftentimes in the morning when I can catch the negative
- 13:19thoughts that my brains offering me, I realize I'm spending a lot
- 13:23of time ruminating, meaning spinning and indecision in
- 13:30stuck. And my brain likes to tell me
- 13:32that's a useful way to spend my time.
- 13:35And so it just keeps me there looping and looping and looping.
- 13:38But what's great about this, decluttering your brain and
- 13:41spending time with all those are the thoughts that my brains
- 13:43offering me is that I can see where I have the opportunity to,
- 13:50to maybe not get rid of the thought, but put it in the
- 13:52background and maybe decide, hey, intentionally, this is the
- 13:57thought that I want to be thinking about today.
- 13:59This is the thought that I want to be spending time with.
- 14:02Instead of spending time with being scared about the snakes
- 14:05breaking loose. I want to go over here and I
- 14:08want to start enjoying the bird show.
- 14:10And then after the bird show, I want to enjoy being able to
- 14:14touch the underwater Stingrays and the water over here and this
- 14:20creative spot. So what it does is it allows you
- 14:25to magnify the ones that are keeping you stuck and then also
- 14:28give you intentional thoughts that you can move forward to.
- 14:31Give yourself energy, give yourself time, get out of
- 14:34indecision, and then move forward confidently for the rest
- 14:37of your day. So awareness with all of this is
- 14:41going to give you so much power. In the morning, when I have
- 14:45awareness of OK, these are the thoughts that I'm having.
- 14:48This is now how I want to intentionally go forward.
- 14:51It creates very different actions in my day.
- 14:54I'm able to have clarity, I'm able to have energy, I'm able to
- 14:58have for me, like grit always comes up for me.
- 15:02Like that's what I want to generate in challenges.
- 15:05I want to generate grit. And if you guys are like me, who
- 15:09is an overachiever, A doer, someone who's like chasing like
- 15:13growth and leveling up, I really think it's important to generate
- 15:17an emotion that's going to help you do that.
- 15:20It's going to help you face the challenges.
- 15:22It's going to help you go through the hard.
- 15:24And I do think we live in a day right now where it's very much
- 15:27like, let's live the soft life. Let's be comfortable and
- 15:31innately our brain wants to do that too.
- 15:33It wants us to be comfortable and to not grow.
- 15:36And so I think it really is required to tell yourself like
- 15:40this is going to be hard and I can handle the hard and also
- 15:45generate the emotion that you know will help you do that.
- 15:48And that's where I've really found the ability to be able to
- 15:52have joy and challenges, but also to generate grip for my
- 15:56life and whatever I'm doing and whatever I'm trying to
- 15:58accomplish. And I really, I talked about
- 15:59this yesterday, but I really love the journey of the
- 16:03becoming. And I think we chase goals
- 16:05because of the way that we think it's going to feel at the end.
- 16:08But to really be present and enjoy going through it and enjoy
- 16:14your present and also enjoy getting there, I think it
- 16:16requires you to enjoy the process and find joy in it.
- 16:20Find enjoying the challenge. So I want to offer for you guys
- 16:22to do that in decluttering your brain.
- 16:26It just gives you an ultimate awareness of your thoughts and
- 16:31awareness of your thoughts and where your brain is leading you
- 16:35and where you want to lead. It is so powerful.
- 16:40So I have some questions that I want to put in the chat box now,
- 16:46and I'm going to read them out loud for those of you guys who
- 16:48are listening in on this replay or who are listening in and
- 16:52can't look at the chat box now, I'm going to put them in now.
- 17:00OK, question #1 what thoughts have you been spending time with
- 17:06this week? And I didn't want to just look
- 17:08at today because today might be too early to know what those
- 17:11are, but you can look at today too.
- 17:12But predominantly this week, what thoughts have you been
- 17:16spending a lot of time with? Think about?
- 17:18Is there one that like you've been ruminating on or beating
- 17:21yourself up with or that's been coming up for you a lot this
- 17:24week? Question two, what is the
- 17:27feeling that follows that thought?
- 17:28So when you're thinking that thought, what is the feeling
- 17:32that you have immediately when you when you're thinking it?
- 17:36Step 3 or question three, what do you notice yourself doing
- 17:40because of that thought? What actions are you taking?
- 17:43And then question 4 is what do you notice yourself not doing
- 17:47because you're thinking that and you're feeling this emotion?
- 17:51And then the last one, this one I added in there.
- 17:53I just think it's such an interesting question to ask is
- 17:57what would be different about you if you totally got rid of
- 18:01this thought and you never allowed yourself to think it
- 18:04again? Now, this isn't impossible,
- 18:06especially if it's been ruminating with you all week,
- 18:08but I just think it's an interesting thought to pose for
- 18:11yourself is what would be different about you if you
- 18:14totally got rid of this thought and you just were hypnotized and
- 18:18never allowed to think it again? OK, those are the questions.
- 18:24Who would be brave enough to get some coaching on these?
- 18:30And also, if you don't want to come on and raise your hand, I
- 18:36mean, I would love for you too, but if you don't want to come on
- 18:39and raise your hand, you can put your answers in the chat box as
- 18:41well. Again, to raise your hand, just
- 18:50go down to the raise, hand down at the bottom and then you can
- 18:54put your hand up there and I will promote you to panelists.
- 19:12All right, Jim, let's go. Hi, Janessa, can you hear me?
- 19:24I can hear you great and I can see you.
- 19:26Thanks for coming on. Yeah, hi.
- 19:28Jim. Thanks for hosting.
- 19:29So yeah, actually, and we chatted about this, but in the
- 19:34job search mode this week, I've had two lots of feelings.
- 19:38One is anxiety and two is excitement.
- 19:42And I bounce between those two sets of emotions.
- 19:47And really because, you know, finding a new job is really
- 19:50important to me. So, so I think the importance of
- 19:52the job has bubbled up in my mind.
- 19:55And therefore, on the one hand I get anxious about it because I
- 19:59really want the job, and on the other, I also get excited about
- 20:01it because it also is a possibility for a new beginning.
- 20:04So I, I sort of bounce between those and I.
- 20:08I find myself if I can steady myself and lean into the
- 20:11excitement, it makes for a calmer experience than just
- 20:16leaning into the anxiety. So.
- 20:18Yeah. And I would love to be able to
- 20:21quote control my mind so I can think about the remember when I
- 20:26get excited about things versus and therefore downplay the the
- 20:33anxiety. So the anxiety is the snakes.
- 20:35The excitement is hanging out with the dolphins.
- 20:38Yeah, yeah. OK.
- 20:39I love that. I know.
- 20:40I wish we had dolphins at most of the zoos, but there really
- 20:42aren't. OK, so let's talk about.
- 20:46I want to go a step back, actually.
- 20:49What is the thought that's giving you anxiety about the job
- 20:52search? I think it's just, you know, the
- 20:57usual confidence challenge of I can sometimes forget when I've
- 21:05done good jobs and I remember when I struggled.
- 21:07So it's, I think that's what gives me the anxiety is
- 21:10remembering struggles instead of remembering quote successes and
- 21:13achievements, you know? OK this is so good because I
- 21:17think if we clean up this it'll help you with anxiety.
- 21:20So why is remembering the struggles bad or give you
- 21:23anxiety? Because I only really have room
- 21:31for one set of thoughts at a time when I can swap in and out.
- 21:33But if I'm thinking about the struggles, I'm not thinking
- 21:36about the positive side of things or, or the six, you know,
- 21:38the achievement side of things. Therefore, my, my mind can often
- 21:43be clouded around, oh, if I go into this job, it's going to be
- 21:46a struggle. And I, I get very preoccupied
- 21:49with worrying about the struggles, which are natural
- 21:51anyway in a new job versus, you know, being a bit more balanced
- 21:56and saying, well, there'll be, there'll be easier parts and
- 21:59some difficult parts. Yeah, OK.
- 22:01I'm gonna give you an example outside of you and you tell me
- 22:03what comes up for you. I think that when you're looking
- 22:10at your struggles, it's like such a negative connotation
- 22:13around it. But what came up for me when you
- 22:15said that is I think we have an opportunity to think of our
- 22:19struggles as very differently and not, I wouldn't say just
- 22:21positively, but I ran my first half marathon a couple years ago
- 22:26with my son. I wanted to do it before he left
- 22:29and I signed up for this half marathon thinking, oh, it's
- 22:33going to be at the coast, it's going to be beautiful weather,
- 22:35it's going to be so nice, it's going to be so enjoyable.
- 22:38We got there, the tide was high, it was on the beach and I was
- 22:42wet up until my waist almost the entire race.
- 22:46It took me like 4 hours to run it and I knew I was way more
- 22:49capable than that. And there that was an obstacle
- 22:52and that was a huge struggle. And I even told myself after
- 22:55running it, I'm never running this again.
- 22:56I'm never doing a half marathon again and I look back on that
- 23:01and I'm like, wait, now I know so much.
- 23:04I know I can do better. I know I can do quicker.
- 23:07I know which race now to sign up for, which one not to, and what
- 23:11to look for when I'm signing up. And I could look back on that
- 23:15struggle and be like, well, that was a complete waste of time.
- 23:18I never want to do that again. I'm nervous that this is going
- 23:20to happen again. Or I can say wait.
- 23:21I have so much more power and control because now I know what
- 23:26to look for and what not to look for.
- 23:28So what comes up for you when I say that?
- 23:33Actually, what I think about is the, like I said, I find some of
- 23:38that job search exciting in terms of possibility.
- 23:41To your point, what I think about is the struggle is the
- 23:46pathway to some of that excitement, because part of the
- 23:48excitement is feeling good about actually working through some
- 23:51struggle and remembering that and sort of holding those two
- 23:56thoughts together. Because I'll give you as we talk
- 23:58it through, what I do think about is I don't want to quote
- 24:03easy job or a job that I might have done 5 or 10 years ago.
- 24:05I'm not interested in that. I could probably go do that.
- 24:09That scares me. Actually, that scares me more
- 24:12than having something challenging to do, which is
- 24:15where I think I would get the excitement to even like, you
- 24:19know, as you know, we've talked, but I had a job interview this
- 24:22week. It was very exciting.
- 24:23It was very different from what I do normally.
- 24:27I had to do a lot of prep for it, but I felt good in
- 24:30understanding what it was about because I leaned into the
- 24:34uncertainty. I didn't get fazed by it, but I,
- 24:37you know, I was stressed and I was feeling good and stressed
- 24:40and I sort of flip flop between them.
- 24:41But I have to remember that those two sometimes go together
- 24:47so. Yeah.
- 24:48And my hunch is the reason why it's hard to get to the
- 24:51excitement is because we have to, I think there's an
- 24:54opportunity to make the struggle something that there was growth
- 24:58in it and a different level. And so if if we did look at your
- 25:03struggles quote UN quote struggles in the past, I think
- 25:06we have to make the past better before we can make the present
- 25:10or the future better. And so when I say there's an
- 25:13opportunity to look back at the past struggles and and look at
- 25:18them differently, what kind of comes up for you?
- 25:22Yeah, that rings true because again, as you know, I was in AI
- 25:26was in a job some years ago and I was might be very
- 25:30uncomfortable in terms of what was going on with the company.
- 25:32But then I went to the next job and there were similar
- 25:35circumstances, but in the next one I'm like, well, that's fine.
- 25:38It is what it is. I was just more quote
- 25:40comfortable because I've already been through that first round
- 25:42and I realized from that first experience, you know, no one was
- 25:48going to eat me alive. It wasn't it wasn't that bad at
- 25:51the time. I didn't to your point at the
- 25:53time, when you're in the middle of it, I'm like, oh, this is
- 25:55awful. Then in the second job I
- 25:58realized, Oh yes, it two things really.
- 26:01I learned from it. Don't put myself in search.
- 26:04Bad situations perhaps, but also when I am in difficult
- 26:07situations. I, I, you know, I, I can roll
- 26:11through them. It's not that bad.
- 26:13Yeah. So why do you think that you're
- 26:14fearing the struggle now that might come up for you in a new
- 26:17job? I would say genuinely, I'm less
- 26:22fearful of it than I was. I mean, I have a lot of momentum
- 26:26so I but it's really like a 7030.
- 26:29I'm 70% excited about a job and 30% anxious.
- 26:33It used to be a lot more 5050 or the other way, you know, So
- 26:36yeah, I would say, but if we. Just looked at that 30% for a
- 26:39second. Why do you think still think you
- 26:41have the 30% anxiety about future struggles and a future
- 26:44job? He could really be honest with
- 26:47yourself. Oh, because there's actually
- 26:50yes. Because there's no.
- 26:54There's no guarantee. There's no certainty about
- 26:57anything in life. So for example, if I go into a
- 27:00job that on paper looks great, the people seem really nice,
- 27:03etcetera, etcetera. I don't know what I'm, you know,
- 27:06at some level I could be walking into chaos or somebody that's
- 27:10very pleasant to interview turns out to be very difficult to work
- 27:12with. There's no there's no guarantees
- 27:15that anything. Now I have to like where you're
- 27:18going with this. I have to, I have to have faith
- 27:21and confidence in my own ability to navigate difficult
- 27:24situations. But I also, I, you know, I don't
- 27:31want to walk into something that's that's totally
- 27:33unpredictable, you know? That's.
- 27:35Because of my need for control. So I think what I'm hanging on
- 27:38to is there's always that, there's always that desire for a
- 27:40bit of control, which I know is is quite a bit of a fantasy.
- 27:45Yeah. OK.
- 27:45So this is I think the opposite coaching that I thought, I think
- 27:50you thought I was going to give you.
- 27:51I really think this is your opportunity to allow
- 27:54uncertainty. Yeah, no, I agree.
- 27:57I. Agree.
- 27:57And to form a good relationship with it because right now it's
- 28:00like, I don't want to feel uncertain, so I want to just get
- 28:02to excitement so that I can plow right over uncertainty.
- 28:05And so I can I have control of my feelings.
- 28:08Whereas your real control is going to happen when you just
- 28:12stop resisting uncertainty and you're just like, oh, OK, yeah,
- 28:17this is. I, I agree that's helpful
- 28:20because I will say that, you know, the only thing I can
- 28:24guarantee in life is that there is always going to be
- 28:28uncertainty. So if there's always going to be
- 28:30uncertainty, don't try and don't sweat the energy trying to
- 28:33control all that uncertainty. Even with the most quote,
- 28:36whatever it is, there's no certainty we're going to wake up
- 28:40tomorrow. Everything's going to, you know,
- 28:41so like just just go forward and, and embrace or like you
- 28:46said, sort of walk through that uncertainty instead of, as we
- 28:50talked before, don't try and control or wrestle down
- 28:53uncertainty. It's not a, it's not a practical
- 28:57thing to do. You can manage it and navigate
- 29:00it, but you can't, you can't stop it.
- 29:03So therefore don't get anxious about it.
- 29:04That's that's the place to get to.
- 29:06Yeah, because what happens when you're wrestling and trying to
- 29:10control and get out of uncertainty?
- 29:11What do you notice yourself doing?
- 29:14What I'm they're not doing is not using the energy on the to
- 29:19really be my best self or to bring the positive, exciting
- 29:24energy to doing new and fresh things and enjoying it because
- 29:28we only have, I realize now we have a fixed amount of energy.
- 29:33So I can use my energy. It's my choice.
- 29:36I can use my energy to enjoy a situation or I can use my energy
- 29:39to get, you know, ticked off about a situation.
- 29:42It's finite. I can't.
- 29:44So better to use it for enjoying it and if I can versus sort of
- 29:50like sucking the energy down through the anxiety.
- 29:53Yeah, I actually think the avoiding the uncertainty and
- 29:57allowing yourself to feel it and trying to control it is what's
- 30:00causing the anxiety. Correct.
- 30:03There's like a tax to that. There's a cost to avoiding
- 30:05uncertainty as it's quite hard work because you have to be very
- 30:09like you said, it's like you sort of lose using a lot of
- 30:13energy to sort of try and put that uncertainty into a box.
- 30:16And that creates anxiety because you can't really, you can't get
- 30:19the uncertainty in the box because, you know, Mr.
- 30:23uncertainty is like is not clear shape at all.
- 30:27I've got a box here, which is my brain.
- 30:28No, I want a box. No, no, it doesn't work like
- 30:30that. And it that just creates stress
- 30:32because you can't get it in the box.
- 30:34Yeah. And now that you see it, you can
- 30:37lessen you actually have the control of what you do have
- 30:39control over is lessening the anxiety.
- 30:42And the way to lessen the anxiety is just to allow the
- 30:44uncertainty. Yeah.
- 30:47And I think you're to the point as well as you have to do the
- 30:50reps on this like I am, I'm in a rhythm of doing a lot more job
- 30:58searching a lot more interviews than I was.
- 31:01So every, every interview isn't isn't so loaded with, you know,
- 31:08this could affect me for the next 6 months.
- 31:09No. And again, actually part of that
- 31:14is, is sort of getting on the bicycle every day and holding it
- 31:17lightly, you know, having two or three interviews a week and not
- 31:20sweating about, oh, this is an interim I get this month, you
- 31:24know, a build. In other words, I'm, I'm the
- 31:26anxiety again, it's the anxiety is, is lesser because I'm not
- 31:31trying to control this. And again, just get this one
- 31:33thing in a box. I'm just rolling with it more.
- 31:36Yeah, because the thought that's causing the the anxiety or
- 31:42that's causing the uncertainty is I'm not in control or I don't
- 31:45have control. And so it's one first, like, oh,
- 31:49OK, the thing that I'm trying to resist feeling is uncertainty.
- 31:53And if I just allowed it uncertainty to come with me like
- 31:56a heavy rock in my backpack and I put it on every morning.
- 31:59OK, there's that. And then there's also
- 32:02intentional thinking is going to be like, wait, I'm going to
- 32:06allow the uncertainty and I put on the heavy backpack, but also
- 32:10I am in control and reminding yourself what you do have
- 32:15control over. Right.
- 32:17And I think that's down to against a bigger convo, but it's
- 32:19like you have to acknowledge what is quote inside and outside
- 32:24of your control, work on what you can control and ignore what
- 32:28you can't. So that's about having good
- 32:31boundaries around, you know, and that's the, that I think creates
- 32:36the anxiety when you, when you don't get clear boundaries for
- 32:41yourself in your head, suddenly everything looks like it's
- 32:43uncontrollable, which is not true.
- 32:46And the fantasy of trying to control everything is, you know,
- 32:50that's part of my personality, but that's not a that's also not
- 32:53practical either. Because anything we do in life,
- 32:56whatever your role, you could be the president or whatever, you
- 33:00know, there's only some which you can, nobody has absolute
- 33:03control over everything. So it's it's really
- 33:05acknowledging those boundaries and being nimble around and like
- 33:11you said, letting quote, letting go of what you can and cannot
- 33:16control. Well, and also your thought air
- 33:19that your brains offering you is when there's chaos and
- 33:22uncontrolled situation, you can't have confidence.
- 33:26Yes, yes. OK.
- 33:27And so I, I want to offer you that you can and I'm going to
- 33:30give you an example as a flight nurse, it's utter chaos in every
- 33:34call that I ran, especially ones where there was multiple
- 33:37patients, multiple pile UPS, but I was really confident.
- 33:41In fact, the more chaotic situations, the more confidence
- 33:44I tapped into. And so it is possible for you in
- 33:48the chaos, in the uncontrolled environment of all this job
- 33:51searching, to have confidence in that.
- 33:55Yeah, and I think to your point, it's like it is, it's about
- 33:59quickly being aware of what's your zone of influence.
- 34:01So to your point, like EMT ING as an EMT bringing, bringing a
- 34:06coding patient in, there's a whole, you know, an ER Bay which
- 34:12is all ready for triage. So you have to do a good, your
- 34:15good job is to get the patients in on the stretcher and get them
- 34:18onto the, onto the off the stretcher and get them onto the
- 34:21bed. That's really where you'll
- 34:23respond, you know, you might be, you might be on a BBM or
- 34:27whatever, but once they're off, they're off.
- 34:29You let the others take over. You don't control the whole
- 34:32situation. And likewise, same in this job
- 34:36search. I control how I turn up and how
- 34:39I chat and present myself. I don't control how someone's
- 34:43going to react on the other end of the zoom.
- 34:45And once I recognize that, focus on what I can, focus on what I
- 34:50can control. You know, there's plenty to do
- 34:51with that. Yeah, yeah, 'cause what's
- 34:53happening with the zoo right now is you have the snakes over here
- 34:55and you're like, we are just going to avoid that whole
- 34:58perimeter and I'm just going to feel anxious about avoiding it
- 35:01versus what if we just go to it and we're like, I'm just going
- 35:04to have uncertainty and attend to the snake?
- 35:07Right. And the last thing I think I'd
- 35:10say as well as one has to, I recognize is to your point, This
- 35:14is why this coaching work so well.
- 35:18The person on the other side of the call has their own anxieties
- 35:22and uncertainties about their day or their life.
- 35:24It's not like I'm, it's not like everybody, everybody else has
- 35:28got life figured out and I haven't.
- 35:30Most people are trying to get through it in different
- 35:32capacities. So that makes me feel, when I
- 35:35can remember that, I realized that's humility.
- 35:38I'm just a human like anybody else, and we're all trying to
- 35:41figure it out. Right.
- 35:43And also I can be anxious and uncertain and still show up
- 35:46confident and rock this interview A. 100% and I that's.
- 35:50Where I want to take your brain. Yes, I, I genuinely, I would say
- 35:55I believe that more than I used to, but more than belief, I
- 35:58think I would say I'm beginning to practice action that more
- 36:03than I used to. And, and and belief comes
- 36:05through. Action doesn't come through
- 36:06saying yes, Janessa, yes, I agree you did it.
- 36:08Now it comes through actually doing it and doing the reps,
- 36:13which is back to the full circle to the start of this
- 36:16conversation where you said you have to sort of lean in and
- 36:22enjoy the journey. I'm doing the same with fitness.
- 36:24It's like I'm, I'm, I used to be wound up about not being able to
- 36:27do XY and Z. Now I'm embracing what I can do
- 36:31and it's a lot more satisfying. That might get me on the road to
- 36:34where I want to get to. Yeah.
- 36:36OK. So let's find your belief.
- 36:37I have a question for you. OK, tell me what your zone of
- 36:40influence is in this job search. My zone of influence is to turn
- 36:47up and show plenty of initiative and original thinking about what
- 36:55the company I'm interviewing with can do to like, you know,
- 36:59drive success as a business. So that's very important part.
- 37:03Like rather than turning up and being ready to answer 20
- 37:05questions from an interviewer, no, I need a ton up and have an
- 37:10opinion, I'll be prepared to share thoughts, original
- 37:15thoughts on where I think this business could go and how I can
- 37:19contribute to that. That's a different approach.
- 37:20It's a more proactive approach. OK.
- 37:22What else? And if you could be specific,
- 37:28what else is like zone of influence in this job search
- 37:31look like for you? Oh.
- 37:33OK, sorry, yes. So I think it's the it's to give
- 37:39the right to give the into a viewer confidence that I can
- 37:45that I'm decisive and I don't hedge things in my decisioning.
- 37:49You know, in other words, I don't just come up with three
- 37:51different ideas, but I I have conviction and confidence.
- 37:55So that's I can influence that and also I have room to drive
- 38:03the momentum of the of the interview discussions.
- 38:06I, you know, I have, I can influence how quickly they move
- 38:11on decisions with me. I think I can have influence
- 38:14over now. OK, I'm going to read these back
- 38:17to you and then ask you a question.
- 38:18Tell me the last one I can influence how quickly they move
- 38:21the decision. Yeah, I can.
- 38:22I can influence the pace of the interview.
- 38:24I think I have more influence over that.
- 38:26I've I've had that in the past actually.
- 38:27I can, I can, you know, reach out proactively reach out to all
- 38:31the people in the company did it.
- 38:32I can actually move things along and the companies welcome that
- 38:35sometime. Yeah, because the whole point of
- 38:38interviews, and this is what I always tell everyone, it's like
- 38:40if they brought you to the interview, you already have the
- 38:42time and experience. They're just wanting to know who
- 38:44you are, what you value in the team, player you are. 100%.
- 38:48OK, so I'm going to read these back to you and then ask you a
- 38:50question. I asked you what is the zone of
- 38:52influence that you have on this job search?
- 38:54You said turn up, show plenty of initiative, original thinking,
- 39:00have an opinion, share your original thoughts.
- 39:04Ask yourself, how can I contribute?
- 39:07Give the interviewer confidence. Don't hedge things.
- 39:10And I want to word that one a little different.
- 39:12Interview with confidence hedge things in my in my decisions
- 39:18have room to drive the momentum and influence the pace of the
- 39:21interview. Yeah, that's a lot of you did a
- 39:24lot of typing there. That's very impressive.
- 39:26Well, it's all not spelled right, but you got the decimate.
- 39:30Suppress I suppressive. What is it that you have to be
- 39:34thinking about yourself to do all of those things in the
- 39:38interview? Two things, which is I have to
- 39:46believe I can follow up and make that stuff happen when I get in
- 39:50there. And the this is exciting.
- 39:53I, I think it's that first point.
- 39:55You can't fake this stuff. I have to believe that I can
- 39:58actually go in and make a difference.
- 40:00OK, what does he believe? Who can do that 100% of the
- 40:02time? What does that Jim believe?
- 40:04What does that Jim believe? Who can do that every single
- 40:07time he sits in an interview? What are the what's the belief
- 40:09he has about himself? That almost like there's no
- 40:15question I can do it. Whatever the problem is that
- 40:17gets thrown at me, I can solve it or figure out how to solve
- 40:20it. You know, get the right people
- 40:21in and da da da. OK, tell me what you think of
- 40:24this thought. Whatever the problem is, I'm the
- 40:27person to solve it. Yeah, I can.
- 40:30I can figure out how to solve it.
- 40:31There's nothing without being arrogant, but there's there's
- 40:33nothing I can't sort of get the even if I don't can't actually
- 40:37solve it in absolute, I can figure out who we need to get to
- 40:41to solve the problem. Yeah, I think it's actually a
- 40:43little bit of confidence and excitement you're generating.
- 40:46100% I think the excitement has to be there because you have to
- 40:51be. Again, it's back to energy.
- 40:54With problems, you've got to be excited about leaning in to
- 40:58solve them. Yeah.
- 41:00You know you either bring energy to you know you use your energy
- 41:03to avoid a problem. You use an energy to jump in and
- 41:06solve the problem. It's and you have to a lot of
- 41:09these business problems, you have to you know, give it 100 or
- 41:13110% energy to solve the problem.
- 41:16And that's very apparent when someone does.
- 41:18This is where the hedging is, you know, don't give it 80%,
- 41:21give it 100 or 110%. And that's that way you'll
- 41:25thrive. You know, but I think the
- 41:27excitement comes from the confidence that you lean into
- 41:30when you think this. Yes, I agree.
- 41:32So I think you what the problem is, you've been having anxiety
- 41:36because you're not allowing the uncertainty.
- 41:37So allow the uncertainty to just be there with you, carry it with
- 41:40you. But then also, you've been
- 41:42trying to generate excitement, but it's not excitement you want
- 41:45to generate, it's confidence. I agree.
- 41:48You can't. You don't try and quote force.
- 41:51I keep saying quote, but you don't have force excitement.
- 41:54It's like if you have confidence, the joy and the
- 41:57excitement comes from something because you, because you
- 42:01believe, you have strong self belief.
- 42:03And self belief therefore means that you that you can't be
- 42:08excited without self belief because the doubt holds you
- 42:11back. And any of us have been around
- 42:17as long as me you I have plenty of experience in I've got plenty
- 42:23of reservoirs of experience to tap into.
- 42:24So I can I can either choose to remember that experience.
- 42:28I've been solved the problem since I was I got out of school
- 42:312025 years ago. So I either say, wow, I remember
- 42:35when I did this, that the other, or I just forget all that and
- 42:39go, Oh my God, this is this is going to be an awful problem.
- 42:41No, no, no problems that, yeah. And the thing about excitement
- 42:45is it's so fleeting. Like we we can tap into it, but
- 42:48it's fleeting. So I think confidence is going
- 42:51to be the thing. If you generate that, that's
- 42:53going to be more long lasting. And the more you lean into
- 42:56confidence, the more you double down on the confidence.
- 42:58That's when you can experience the excitement.
- 43:01I think also you know philosophically as well you have
- 43:06to. What I find is helpful is to
- 43:09look at problems as a blessing. Like if, if, if I didn't have
- 43:13problems, I'd sort of get bored and sit around and like, oh.
- 43:16You know 100. Percent but but but problems
- 43:19that are thrown and there's like how how lucky am I that I've
- 43:23been given this big hairy problem to solve either because
- 43:26it's been handed to me or it's sort of blood up in front of me.
- 43:30Because otherwise I would just, you know, sit around and I don't
- 43:35know, I'd probably want to just be eating gummy bears or
- 43:36something. But if you've got a big trouble
- 43:38to solve, it's actually to your point and it's back to the the
- 43:44growth mindset is, oh, you know, I've got a problem.
- 43:46I can not even I can grow. But like, it's exciting to get
- 43:49into a problem because it gets every, you know, everyone's
- 43:54running and anyone that's on board with it is all running in
- 43:57the same direction. So like you said, I mean, you
- 43:59know, you think about the most amazing experiences is taking
- 44:03very sick patients into the into the ER.
- 44:07It's incredible to watch. It's very dignified to be part
- 44:11of a team. You might be a small part, but
- 44:12to see a whole team to come together is a mind blindly
- 44:16humbling experience. So.
- 44:19And I also think a thought that I was just thinking about to
- 44:21offer you that might be good is I am the problem solver.
- 44:24Yeah, 100%. And lean into that.
- 44:28Yeah. Because you you fear the
- 44:31problems, but you're actually good at solving them too.
- 44:33So I think it's like reminding yourself like I am the problem
- 44:35solver. Yeah, problems are good.
- 44:40They, like I said, they give us, I mean, again, it's a separate
- 44:43combo, but like, it it, it, it gives us something positive to
- 44:46occupy our brains with. Otherwise, I would ruminate and,
- 44:49you know, slide off into, I don't know, eating bad food and,
- 44:54you know, sitting around doing nothing.
- 44:55Yeah. OK.
- 44:56So we're going to carry the uncertainty with us.
- 44:58We're going to work on the thought.
- 45:00I'm the problem solver and we're going to generate confidence.
- 45:03Yeah, no, this is good. And shout out, this program is
- 45:05great in terms of like, like you said, this is a lot, so much
- 45:08about managing the mind. And you know me, I was many
- 45:13years ago as a skeptic, But I do see managing the mind to be the
- 45:16key to a lot of this. Oh, totally.
- 45:18And you have so much more capability to do it now, like
- 45:21freely on your own and catch yourself when you're out of it.
- 45:24For sure, for sure. Well, thanks, Jim.
- 45:27Thanks for getting coached on that and being willing to go on
- 45:29that. Yeah, thanks for having me on
- 45:31here, Janessa. Talk soon.
- 45:32Bye. Bye.
- 45:32You're welcome. OK, so good.
- 45:37I hope you guys got a lot out of listening in that.
- 45:39I know a lot of you guys are making shifts and job changes
- 45:42and career changes or wanting to work a different department, but
- 45:45you're like, I don't want to experience the growth and the
- 45:48feelings and the doubt and all of those things.
- 45:50And again, I just want to emphasize that it's just as hard
- 45:55to stay still and to not act on that whisper and what you really
- 45:57want to do than to just really go for it.
- 46:00You are going to feel doubt and you are going to feel maybe even
- 46:03a bigger emotion like regret either way.
- 46:05So that was such a good example to get coaching on decluttering
- 46:09your brain. I want to invite you guys now if
- 46:11you want to take this conversation deeper, if you want
- 46:14to have momentum towards what you really want, if you want
- 46:17constant support community, and I'm creating a movement inside
- 46:21this new group, come and join us inside The Shift.
- 46:24Enrollment is going on now. This is going to be a lifetime
- 46:26membership life coaching program.
- 46:28I wanted to make this not just for professional and not just
- 46:32for healthcare workers and 1st responders.
- 46:34I wanted to make this for everybody because I really
- 46:36believe how we do one thing is how we do everything.
- 46:39And I really believe we're always making constant shifts in
- 46:42our life, whether it's personal identity shifts, relationship,
- 46:47working on time management, building our confidence and
- 46:50posture syndrome, or whether it's professional shifts where
- 46:53we're changing jobs or we're changing careers like I did 4
- 46:57times or maybe unintentionally, we have something happen, we
- 47:01have a breakup or a divorce or we lose a family member or have
- 47:05a really bad diagnosis. I really think life coaching and
- 47:09these tools are going to help support you in all of these
- 47:11different aspects and really allowing yourself to find out
- 47:16like what are the what are the things you're spending most time
- 47:18with and declutter your brain and allow you to process and
- 47:22allow you to have power over some of these hard emotions.
- 47:26So that's why I created the shift and this life coaching
- 47:29program and it's a lifetime membership.
- 47:31I'm going to tell you right now everything that includes
- 47:33insight. I'm going to show you the member
- 47:35portal too as well. Inside the shift, we're going to
- 47:37have weekly calls. I love having a weekly coaching
- 47:40call every week for 60 minutes every week just like this.
- 47:44We're going to do a small teaching portion at the
- 47:45beginning and then open it up for workshop coaching.
- 47:47Even if you aren't going to be the one being coach, you're
- 47:50going to see today, just like today, you're going to get so
- 47:52much out of watching other people be coached.
- 47:55And you can ask yourself, how is this applying to me?
- 47:57What I love about sitting on coaching calls on a weekly basis
- 48:01is you tap into that motivation, you tap into that desire and
- 48:04then maybe a couple days later you have obstacles come up and
- 48:08life starts to happen to you and it starts to fizzle out a little
- 48:10bit. But right back you get to that
- 48:127th day and you're like, OK, here's my weekly call again,
- 48:15here's my community, here's my accountability, here's my
- 48:17support. So I really love integrating the
- 48:20every week calls. We're going to be on Thursdays
- 48:22at new Pacific Standard Time from now on and we're going to
- 48:25get started on April 9th. All of these replays will be
- 48:28housed inside the member portal for you to go back and watch the
- 48:31videos at any time. So I just in one of the programs
- 48:34I was in, watched a video from two years ago and got so much
- 48:36out of it. So you can re watch it any of
- 48:39those anytime and they're going to go back forever and be housed
- 48:42in there. I also like the idea of having a
- 48:44private podcast, so I did offer that to this program as well.
- 48:49I like to listen to this as I am on the go and sometimes you can
- 48:53miss the calls live. And so this gives you an
- 48:56opportunity to listen back to it while you're on the go, while
- 48:58you're driving, while you're at the gym.
- 49:02And this will just really help you capture that desire, that
- 49:06momentum, that motivation that you feel, even if you are re
- 49:10listening to it. This program is not meant to be
- 49:12in the perfect mindset or the perfect student mindset.
- 49:15This is meant to help support you with accountability and
- 49:18community to tap into. This is meant for one hour every
- 49:22week for you to just focus on yourself so that the 167 other
- 49:27hours in the week you can have the energy, have your time back
- 49:31and focus on the things that you need to get done.
- 49:33I really think that we forget to do this, take time to focus on
- 49:36ourselves. So this is really what this
- 49:38group is going to create for you.
- 49:39This also is I'm going to help you with accountability, like I
- 49:44said, and then you can tap back into this every week or listen
- 49:47to the replay. So I just talked about the
- 49:49private podcast. I really think this is
- 49:50important. I get a lot out of listening to
- 49:53podcast while I'm on my walks or while I'm at the gym.
- 49:56It also helps me. I'm an auditory learner, but I
- 49:58also like to be in momentum because while I'm physically in
- 50:01momentum, I can get my brain in momentum as well.
- 50:03So you're going to be able to click on that link and put that
- 50:06in any podcast platform that allows you to have a private
- 50:09podcast. And then when I upload that, the
- 50:12feed and to the member portal by 5:00 PM Pacific Standard Time
- 50:16every Thursday, it'll automatically just pop up and
- 50:18you'll get a notification that the new replay is out there for
- 50:22you. The third thing that I'm adding
- 50:24to this is community group chat. I love having a community.
- 50:28I think you're not meant to grow alone.
- 50:30I think what's created a lot of success for me is having
- 50:33community support, having a mentor, and working through
- 50:35challenges real time. So in this community group chat,
- 50:39you're going to be able to ask questions, share wins, work
- 50:41through challenges, be surrounded by people committed
- 50:44to growth. I'm going to be sending you guys
- 50:45videos and questions from each weekly call inside of there, and
- 50:50you're going to be able to tap into that community group chat
- 50:52for weekly coaching in between sessions as well.
- 50:55I really want to offer for you moving forward intentionally
- 50:59means that you're putting yourself in groups with people
- 51:01who are doing this and your standards rise naturally when
- 51:05you do. I think also being in rows of
- 51:08people of where you want to go and who are wanting to have that
- 51:10same growth mindset is really important in helping you create
- 51:14the success that you want and the results that you want, and
- 51:16also helping and supporting other people.
- 51:18That's a really big key thing and integral thing of all of my
- 51:21programs. So I'm gonna show you the member
- 51:23portal and kind of what that looks like inside.
- 51:27OK, Hope you guys can see my screen.
- 51:31So you're gonna login. When you join, you're gonna get
- 51:33your own username and password. You're gonna login to the member
- 51:36portal. And right here is a welcome
- 51:39video that I made for you guys is gonna explain everything
- 51:42about the program. And your welcome letter is going
- 51:44to as well. And then on the side you're
- 51:47gonna see this is our Thursday call, Thursdays at New Pacific
- 51:50Standard Time, same Zoom link every time.
- 51:52And then this is a link to our community group chat as well.
- 51:56We're going to have the weekly replays in here.
- 51:58And then we're also going to take you through the six step
- 52:00process of how to make any shift in your life.
- 52:03So I've created this process and those of you guys who Join Now,
- 52:07you're going to get a be a part of the founders bonus with the
- 52:09founders bonus. The first six weeks of this
- 52:12group together, we are going to workshop live the six steps and
- 52:16you're going to be a part of that live if you join before
- 52:19March 27th. And all of those those calls and
- 52:23courses will be housed in here as a six step process.
- 52:26So I really think it's going to be such a great experience to be
- 52:30able to go through my six step process and workshop it live
- 52:33together and really get in there and integrate some of the
- 52:38processes and things that I've created in there.
- 52:40So that is a member portal. Also inside your member portal,
- 52:44you're going to see the Shift weekly call replays.
- 52:47So this is your private podcast for this.
- 52:49As you see in here, I did upload the welcome video.
- 52:52So if you'd rather listen to it on the go, you can do that too.
- 52:55And then every week you're going to see the new replays and
- 52:58episodes in there or any kind of workshops or trainings or
- 53:01courses I'm going to house in there too.
- 53:03I've been really thinking about adding some good things for you
- 53:05guys like time management and creating balance, like just
- 53:09workshops just for you guys. And those will all be in there
- 53:11for you to watch for a lifetime as well.
- 53:13So in the call replays for the private podcast, you can click
- 53:16on that link right there. It'll copy that your personal
- 53:19RSS link URL link that you can put into any private podcast
- 53:23platform. OK, so that is the member portal
- 53:26that is a private podcast. I wanted to let you guys know
- 53:29why I created this program the way I did.
- 53:33Most people try to change their life alone.
- 53:36They read books, they listen to podcasts, they ask AI or
- 53:40ChatGPT, and they think about what they want.
- 53:43But I think what's really important is the application,
- 53:46the integration, the accountability, the support, the
- 53:49community. Otherwise, our mind's going to
- 53:52always pull us back to old patterns and it's going to want
- 53:55to prevent us from growing. So the shift's going to give you
- 53:58the tools, the space to apply some of these tools and the
- 54:02accountability to work through. Like I said, I'm not just
- 54:05creating a community, I'm creating a movement.
- 54:08So we're not just, I'm not going to just support you and the
- 54:11people are going to support you in this group.
- 54:12You guys are going to be a part of that support and creating
- 54:15that movement as well. And so I want to just point out
- 54:19this group, again, is for career changes, relationship changes.
- 54:23We're going to talk about money, we're going to talk about
- 54:24business decisions, We're going to talk about identity shifts.
- 54:27This is going to encompass every shift, both intentional and
- 54:30unintentional, that you're making in your life.
- 54:33And I want to make this a lifetime because as I talked
- 54:35about the beginning, I've shifted it into four different
- 54:38careers, and each time it's required a different identity.
- 54:41And I'm continuing to shift in and out of what I've wanted,
- 54:44especially as I'm transitioning and having my kids move out of
- 54:46the house. And so I really wanted to create
- 54:48a program that's going to support you and your life in
- 54:52every aspect as it continues to happen and as you continue to
- 54:56change identities. You are going to get this entire
- 54:59lifetime access program for $1200.
- 55:02There's a painful option and there is a three monthly payment
- 55:04plan option of 400. I'm going to put the link in
- 55:08here now to join inside the community group chat and let me
- 55:12know in the chat if you guys are joining us or have joined us or
- 55:15plan on joining. I want to be look on the lookout
- 55:18for you and your name as it comes through.
- 55:21And I want to just let you guys know a little bit more about
- 55:23this founders bonus. So when you enroll, like I said,
- 55:26you're going to be a part of the six step process of creating any
- 55:28shift in your life. And we are going to be work
- 55:32shopping again. That's starting April 9th
- 55:35together and we're going to apply it and integrate it inside
- 55:38the calls. I'm going to talk to you about
- 55:40the six steps right now to make any shift and these are the
- 55:43things we're going to cover the first week.
- 55:45If you Join Now, you're going to be a part of that process live.
- 55:48So step one is listening to the whisper.
- 55:50I'm going to really teach you how to have self-awareness,
- 55:53decide, but then also commit. Step 2 is decluttering your
- 55:57brain a little bit of what we're talking about today, but at a
- 55:59different level. I'm going to teach you how to
- 56:01recognize the negative thoughts and emotions that are coming up
- 56:03without judgement on them. Step three, we're going to talk
- 56:06about creating your vision story on this call.
- 56:09We're going to create what your vision story is, redirecting
- 56:11what your purpose, your why is, and what your desire is.
- 56:15When we are motivated and work by desire, we don't need
- 56:18discipline to move us forward to our goals.
- 56:20Step 4 is tapping into capability.
- 56:22All of us think that we have this ceiling of what we're
- 56:24capable of, whether it's energy, whether it's time, whether it's
- 56:27money. I'm going to really teach you
- 56:29how to grow your capability and your capacity to have more and
- 56:32do more. Step 5 is future focus.
- 56:35How do we not think about the past, but really focus in on the
- 56:38future and pull from the future you to create what you want?
- 56:41We're going to create that plan to move forward.
- 56:43And then six, we're going to put that plan into action.
- 56:46I'm going to teach you how to create action acceleration, not
- 56:49only how to create momentum, but how to get in that high value
- 56:52cycle of continuing to take action so you don't have to.
- 56:55You've worked so hard to pedal that you can keep pedaling that
- 56:57bike. So I want to invite you guys
- 56:59join us now so that you can get that founder bonus and let me
- 57:03know if you do join so I can look for you and look for your
- 57:06name as you're signing up. I want to use these last couple
- 57:10minutes to answer any questions. So if you guys have any
- 57:13questions, put them in the group chat, put them in the chat.
- 57:18And so the Q&A so I can see where they're at.
- 57:21Let me give you a couple seconds.
- 57:23Any questions for anybody who's on?
- 57:28OK, if you guys get off today's call and you're like, OK, I have
- 57:32a question about the teaching that you taught today or the
- 57:34other two days. Or if you're like, I have a
- 57:36question about the program, don't hesitate to reach out to
- 57:39me by e-mail from this one that you got the Zoom link.
- 57:42You can reach out to me on Instagram or TikTok as well.
- 57:45DM me your questions or send me a voice memo.
- 57:48I answer each and everyone back personally and would happy to
- 57:51answer, question or talk you through anything in the program
- 57:53that you might be on the fence about.
- 57:56That's it. Thank you guys for joining us on
- 57:58the preview calls and thank you for everyone who got coached on
- 58:01them and is willing to courageously go 1st and I hope
- 58:04to see all of you guys inside the shift.
- 58:07Bye guys. Yes, thanks Jim.
- 58:17If anything in this episode sparked your interest in
- 58:20learning to manage your mind and feel better to create confidence
- 58:23in your life, come join the Shift.
- 58:25We are an entire community that meets together on a weekly basis
- 58:29with an ongoing group chat. You can click on the link to
- 58:31join in the show notes or DM me on Instagram.
- 58:34I hope to see all of you guys inside.
