December 27 - Faithful When Truth Is Challenged · Bible Chat Devotional

• 0:02
Welcome to Bible Chat, where we have devotional conversations
• 0:06
rooted in Scripture and relevant for today, December 27th.
• 0:11
Check yourself before you wreck yourself.
• 0:13
Have you ever believed something because it sounded spiritual,
• 0:17
looked impressive, or everyone else was hyping it up only to
• 0:20
realize later it was wrong? We live in a world full of
• 0:24
voices and not all of them are safe.
• 0:26
That's why first John chapter 4 verse one says, Beloved, do not
• 0:30
believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they
• 0:33
are from God. For many false prophets have
• 0:35
gone out into the world. That's not paranoia, that's
• 0:39
wisdom. Proverbs chapter 30 verses 32 to
• 0:42
33 gets painfully practical. If you have been foolish
• 0:45
exalting yourself, put your hand on your mouth.
• 0:48
In other words, stop, pause. Don't let pride, ego, or anger
• 0:53
drive the moment it even says. Pressing anger produces strife,
• 0:57
like pressure turning milk into curds or pressing a nose until
• 1:00
it bleeds. If you keep squeezing, something
• 1:03
ugly comes out. And if you keep feeding pride
• 1:05
and anger, it will eventually wreck relationships, peace, and
• 1:09
your witness. Then First Thessalonians chapter
• 1:12
one, verse 5 reminds you what real faith looks like.
• 1:15
For our gospel came to you not only in Word, but also in power
• 1:19
and in the Holy Spirit and with full conviction.
• 1:22
  God's truth isn't just loud, it's deep.
• 1:25
It produces conviction, humility, love, and endurance.
• 1:28
And Revelation chapter 13 warns that deception can even come
• 1:32
with signs that look powerful. It performs great signs, and by
• 1:36
the signs it deceives those who dwell on earth.
• 1:39
So the test can't just be, does it look impressive?
• 1:42
The test has to be, does it align with Jesus?
• 1:45
Does it match God's word? Does it produce the fruit of the
• 1:47
Holy Spirit? This is where you protect your
• 1:50
life, slow down your reactions, humble your heart, and filter
• 1:53
everything through Scripture. Not everything that sparkles is
• 1:57
God, not every spiritual vibe is holy, and not every strong
• 2:01
emotion is truth. Stay grounded, stay humble, stay
• 2:04
  close to Jesus. Let's pray.
• 2:07
Heavenly Father, help me hear your voice clearly in a world
• 2:09
full of noise. Teach me to test what I hear and
• 2:12
see by Your Word and by the truth of Jesus.
• 2:15
Guard my heart from pride, anger and deception.
• 2:18
Fill me with the Holy Spirit, with real conviction and with
• 2:22
humility that listens before it reacts.
• 2:24
Keep me steady, faithful and focused on You in Jesus name,
• 2:28
Amen. Imagine stepping into a new year
• 2:31
with clarity in your spirit, strength in your soul, and the
• 2:34
supernatural backing of heaven behind every step you take.

• 3:41
Proverbs 3032 to 33 World English Bible.
• 3:45
If you have done foolishly in lifting up yourself, or if you
• 3:48
have thought evil, put your hand over your mouth.
• 3:51
For as the churning of milk produces butter, and the ringing
• 3:54
of the nose produces blood, so the forcing of wrath produces
• 3:57
strife. First, John 41 to four World
• 4:00
English Bible. Beloved, don't believe every
• 4:03
spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God, because
• 4:07
many false prophets have gone out into the world.
• 4:10
By this you know the Spirit of God, every spirit who confesses
• 4:13
that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is of God.
• 4:17
And every spirit who doesn't confess that Jesus Christ has
• 4:20
come in the flesh is not of God. And this is the spirit of the
• 4:23
Antichrist, of whom you have heard that it comes.
• 4:26
Now it is in the world already. You are of God little children,
• 4:30
and have overcome them because greater is he who is in you than
• 4:33
he who is in the world. First Thessalonians one to two
• 4:37
world English Bible, Paul, Sylvanus and Timothy to the
• 4:40
assembly of the Thessalonians in God the Father and the Lord
• 4:43
Jesus Christ. Grace to you and peace from God
• 4:47
our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
• 4:49
We always give thanks to God for all of you mentioning you in our
• 4:52
prayers, remembering without ceasing your work of faith and
• 4:56
labor of love and perseverance of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ
• 5:00
before our God and Father. We know, brothers, loved by God,
• 5:04
that you are chosen, and that our good news came to you, not
• 5:06
in Word only, but also in power and in the Holy Spirit, and with
• 5:10
much assurance. You know what kind of men we
• 5:13
showed ourselves to be among you for your sake.
• 5:15
You became imitators of us and of the Lord, having received the
• 5:19
Word in much affliction with joy of the Holy Spirit, so that you
• 5:23
became an example to all who believe in Macedonia and in
• 5:26
Achea. For from you the Word of the
• 5:28
Lord has been declared, not only in Macedonia and Achea, but also
• 5:33
in every place your faith toward God has gone out, so that we
• 5:36
need not to say anything. For they themselves report
• 5:40
concerning us what kind of a reception we had from you, and
• 5:43
how you turn to God from idols to serve a living and true God,
• 5:47
and to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the
• 5:50
dead, Jesus, who delivers us from the wrath to come.
• 5:53
For you yourselves know, brothers, our visit to you
• 5:56
wasn't in vain, but having suffered before and been
• 5:59
shamefully treated, as you know, at Philippi we grew bold in our
• 6:02
God to tell you the good news of God in much conflict.
• 6:06
For our exhortation is not of error, nor of uncleanness, nor
• 6:10
in deception. But even as we have been
• 6:12
approved by God to be entrusted with the good news, so we speak
• 6:16
not as pleasing men, but God who tests our hearts.
• 6:19
For neither were we at any time found using words of flattery,
• 6:23
as you know, nor a cloak of covetousness.
• 6:25
God is witness nor seeking glory from men, neither from you nor
• 6:29
from others. When we might have claimed
• 6:31
authority as apostles of Christ, but we were gentle among you,
• 6:34
like a nursing mother cherishes her own children.
• 6:38
Even so affectionately longing for you, we were well pleased to
• 6:41
impart to you not the good news of God only, but also our own
• 6:45
souls, because you had become very dear to us.
• 6:48
For you remember, brothers, are labor and travail for working
• 6:51
night and day, that we might not burden any of you, we preach to
• 6:54
you the good news of God. You are witnesses with God.
• 6:58
How holy. Righteously and blamelessly we
• 7:00
behaved ourselves towards you who believe as you know, we
• 7:03
exhorted, comforted and implored everyone of you as a father does
• 7:07
his own children, to the end that you should walk worthily of
• 7:10
God who calls you into his own Kingdom and glory.
• 7:14
For this 'cause we also thank God without ceasing, that when
• 7:17
you received from us the word of the message of God, you accepted
• 7:21
it not as the word of men, but as it is in truth God's Word,
• 7:25
which also works in you who believe.
• 7:27
For you brothers, became imitators of the Assemblies of
• 7:30
God, which are in Judea, in Christ Jesus.
• 7:33
For you also suffered the same things from your own countrymen,
• 7:36
even as they did from the Jews, who killed both the Lord Jesus
• 7:39
and their own prophets and drove us out and don't please God, and
• 7:44
are contrary to all men, forbidding us to speak to the
• 7:47
Gentiles, that they may be saved to fill up their sins always.
• 7:51
But wrath has come on them to the uttermost.
• 7:53
But we brothers, being bereaved of you for a short season in
• 7:56
presence, not in heart, tried even harder to see your face
• 8:00
with great desire, because we wanted to come to you.
• 8:02
Indeed I Paul once and again. But Satan hindered us.
• 8:06
For what is our hope or joy or crown of rejoicing?
• 8:09
Isn't it even you before our Lord Jesus at His coming?
• 8:13
For you are our glory and our joy.
• 8:15
Revelation 13 World English Bible Then I stood on the sand
• 8:19
of the sea. I saw a beast coming up out of
• 8:21
the sea, having 10 horns and seven heads.
• 8:25
On his horns were 10 crowns, and on his heads blasphemous names.
• 8:29
The beast which I saw was like a leopard, and his feet were like
• 8:32
those of a bear, and his mouth like the mouth of a lion.
• 8:35
The dragon gave him his power, his throne and great authority.
• 8:39
One of his heads looked like it had been wounded fatally.
• 8:42
His fatal wound was healed and the whole earth marveled at the
• 8:45
  beast. They worshipped the dragon
• 8:47
because he gave His authority to the beast and they worship the
• 8:50
beast, saying who is like the beast who is able to make war
• 8:53
with him? A mouth speaking great things
• 8:56
and blasphemy was given to him. Authority to make war for 42
• 9:00
months was given to him. He opened his mouth for
• 9:03
blasphemy against God, to blasphemy his name, his dwelling
• 9:06
and those who dwell in heaven. It was given to him to make war
• 9:10
with the Saints and to overcome them.
• 9:12
Authority over every tribe, people, language and nation was
• 9:16
given to him. All who dwell on the earth will
• 9:19
worship him. Everyone whose name has not been
• 9:21
written from the foundation of the world in the book of Life of
• 9:24
the Lamb who has been killed, If anyone has an ear, let him hear.
• 9:28
If anyone is to go into captivity, he will go into
• 9:31
captivity. If anyone is to be killed with a
• 9:34
sword, he must be killed. Here is the endurance and the
• 9:37
faith of the Saints. I saw another beast coming up
• 9:40
out of the earth. He had two horns like a lamb,
• 9:43
and it spoke like a dragon. He exercises all the authority
• 9:46
of the first beast in His presence.
• 9:48
He makes the earth and those who dwell in it to worship the first
• 9:51
beast whose fatal wound was healed.
• 9:54
He performs great signs, even making fire come down out of the
• 9:58
sky to the earth in the sight of people.
• 10:00
He deceives my own people who dwell on the earth because of
• 10:03
the signs He was granted to do in front of the beast, saying to
• 10:07
those who dwell on the earth that they should make an image
• 10:09
to the beast who had the sword wound and lived.
• 10:12
It was given to him to give breath to the image of the
• 10:15
beast, that the image of the beast should both speak, and
• 10:18
'cause as many as wouldn't worship the image of the beast
• 10:21
to be killed. He causes all the small and the
• 10:24
great, the rich and the poor and the free and the slave to be
• 10:28
given marks on their right hands or on their foreheads, and that
• 10:31
no one would be able to buy or to sell unless he has that mark,
• 10:35
which is the name of the beast or the number of his name.
• 10:37
Here is wisdom. He who has understanding, let
• 10:41
him calculate the number of the beast, for it is the number of a
• 10:43
  man. His number is 666.
