- 0:02Speaker 1: On Scolds Australia.
- 0:05Speaker 2: This is the Reader Panalty Show. Good evening and welcome
- 0:11Speaker 2: to the Rita Patty Show. Coming up tonight. Susan Lee
- 0:14Speaker 2: under pressure as Andrew Hasty prepares to launch a challenge.
- 0:18Speaker 2: Colleen Harkin and Christy McSweeney will join me to cover
- 0:21Speaker 2: the day's top headlines. Lefty influencers are losing it a
- 0:25Speaker 2: support for Australia days surges to new highs. I'll speak
- 0:29Speaker 2: with Klista Clemens about that shortly more reckless retrick from
- 0:34Speaker 2: Democrats inciting violence after a fatal ice shooting in Minneapolis.
- 0:39Speaker 2: Josh Hammer will provide his insights later, and Brooklyn Beckham
- 0:44Speaker 2: maybe falling in Prince Harry's footsteps with a tel Or
- 0:47Speaker 2: memoir Kinsey's Schofield will give us all the details about
- 0:51Speaker 2: that later in the hour. And left is Losing It
- 0:55Speaker 2: isn't just about bananas and rice.
- 0:58Speaker 3: You know if people don't think, oh, you can bananas
- 1:00Speaker 3: with race, but that's what it's like to be Somali
- 1:03Speaker 3: an American. It's like that combination of banana race.
- 1:08Speaker 2: But first, Andrew Hasty looks set to challenge Susan Lee
- 1:12Speaker 2: for the Liberal leadership after he was given the blessing
- 1:15Speaker 2: of his young family. Sources close so Hasty told the
- 1:18Speaker 2: Australian newspaper that he had discussed the implications of taking
- 1:22Speaker 2: up the job with his wife, Ruth, who said she
- 1:25Speaker 2: was fully supportive. The Liberals are in turmoil, with their
- 1:30Speaker 2: poll numbers at record lows and the Nationals walking away
- 1:34Speaker 2: from the coalition. National leader David Little Proud has refused
- 1:38Speaker 2: to say whether he would back Hasty as leader. Liberal
- 1:41Speaker 2: Senator Jane Hugh refuse to address the speculation.
- 1:45Speaker 4: Susan Lee is the leader. There is no spill. Anything
- 1:48Speaker 4: else is simply a hypothetical. No one has called me
- 1:51Speaker 4: and asked me to vote for them. Susan Lee is
- 1:54Speaker 4: my leader. She has been elected by the party room
- 1:57Speaker 4: and we will continue to serve under a leader.
- 2:00Speaker 2: Joining me now is Institute of Public Affairs Senior Fellow
- 2:03Speaker 2: Colleen Harken and pr Council Managing Director Christy McSweeney. Colleen,
- 2:09Speaker 2: I'll start with you. There appeared to be two contenders
- 2:13Speaker 2: for this job, Andrew Hasty and Angus Taylor. Who do
- 2:17Speaker 2: you think will prevail or is it inevitable? Are we
- 2:20Speaker 2: getting ahead of ourselves? Could Lee hold on?
- 2:23Speaker 1: I don't see how she can hold on in the
- 2:25Speaker 1: longer term. She might in the shorter term because to
- 2:27Speaker 1: do it too soon would make it look like they've
- 2:29Speaker 1: acquiesced to the National's push. But I think there's a
- 2:33Speaker 1: bigger problem here. The Liberal Party in particular, seems to
- 2:36Speaker 1: have forgotten what the role.
- 2:37Speaker 2: Of opposition is.
- 2:39Speaker 1: They've forgotten that their job is not to help labor
- 2:41Speaker 1: with bad legislation. Their job is to oppose and to
- 2:44Speaker 1: hold them to account. And so now, regardless of whoever
- 2:48Speaker 1: may or may not take over in due course, we're
- 2:50Speaker 1: stuck with that legislation because the Liberals helped bring it
- 2:53Speaker 1: to parts. So in years to come, if they ever
- 2:56Speaker 1: do get back into government, they're stuck with this legislation
- 2:58Speaker 1: because they were the people who helped get it across
- 3:00Speaker 1: the line. There's been an enormous amount of pushback, rightly
- 3:03Speaker 1: so about it, and in all of that context, I
- 3:06Speaker 1: think the Nationals have held themselves well, although they're starting
- 3:09Speaker 1: to look shambolic again today yesterday.
- 3:13Speaker 2: It is just such a shame Christy, because it is
- 3:17Speaker 2: terrible legislation. It's one thing for the opposition to back
- 3:20Speaker 2: good legislation, but to forget that their opposition to forget
- 3:25Speaker 2: that they're supposed to stand up for liberal values. And
- 3:27Speaker 2: then you've got someone like Hasty who was complicit in
- 3:32Speaker 2: passing this legislation. So how is he going to prove
- 3:36Speaker 2: to those disaffected Liberal voters who have abandoned the party
- 3:39Speaker 2: that they should come back when he passed these so
- 3:43Speaker 2: called hate speech laws.
- 3:44Speaker 5: Look, there's many people in the conservative side of the
- 3:47Speaker 5: Liberal Party, of which Andrew Hasty is won, and there's
- 3:51Speaker 5: was Mechalli Cash, Andrew Hasty, James Patterson, John O'Donovan, all conservatives.
- 3:56Speaker 5: These people are hardly people that rally oats and policy
- 4:01Speaker 5: positions for the moderate.
- 4:03Speaker 2: Side of the faction.
- 4:04Speaker 5: They are hardly people who are not free speech supporters.
- 4:10Speaker 5: So they have taken a view that let's not stop
- 4:13Speaker 5: the perfect being the enemy of the good. However, there
- 4:16Speaker 5: are deeper questions to answer about how this legislation is
- 4:19Speaker 5: going to be enacted. I don't think there was enough
- 4:21Speaker 5: time for people to go through the bill and to
- 4:25Speaker 5: make sure those amendments that were put forward and pass
- 4:28Speaker 5: were adequate, and amendments that the Liberal Party would probably
- 4:32Speaker 5: support as a whole, and come to a position where
- 4:35Speaker 5: both factions could support it. However, that is what happens
- 4:38Speaker 5: when you demand that Parliament be recalled and do not
- 4:42Speaker 5: have a plan or a strategy of what you will
- 4:45Speaker 5: do with your voice once parliament. Well that's reported on
- 4:49Speaker 5: once you have won that fart off the back of
- 4:53Speaker 5: a couple of wins, calling the Prime Minister, forcing him
- 4:56Speaker 5: to call a Royal commission and then forcing him to
- 4:59Speaker 5: recall part parliament. Two wins there, And we hate putting
- 5:02Speaker 5: this in the context of winning and losing over such
- 5:04Speaker 5: tragic circumstances. However, losing that advantage once you have no
- 5:10Speaker 5: strategy and no plan, once you get what you want.
- 5:13Speaker 2: Well, that is the indictment here, Colleen. Because Susan Lee
- 5:17Speaker 2: demanded Parliament be recalled, she had no plan, and it
- 5:21Speaker 2: seems like part of the reason these terrible laws were
- 5:24Speaker 2: passed was so she could justify that those calls, because
- 5:28Speaker 2: the Prime Minister did come out and say, why are
- 5:32Speaker 2: you demanding parliament a record when you've really got enough
- 5:35Speaker 2: substantial to offer here. And I think it's just such
- 5:39Speaker 2: a great shame for the country that we have an
- 5:41Speaker 2: Islamist terror attack. And what comes out of that is
- 5:45Speaker 2: that the free speech of ordinary Australians is impacted in
- 5:48Speaker 2: a negative way, including the ability to robustly talk about
- 5:53Speaker 2: Islamism and mass migration and all sorts of other important issues. Yeah.
- 5:57Speaker 1: Correct, The target that it was supposed to address has
- 6:01Speaker 1: not been targeted.
- 6:02Speaker 2: He has not been addressed at all.
- 6:03Speaker 1: We've got a High Court challenge from the very group
- 6:06Speaker 1: that's supposed to have been shut down. Though it's the
- 6:09Speaker 1: ordinary Australian who will suffer here in the longer term.
- 6:13Speaker 1: There's no way in my view that those MPs could
- 6:15Speaker 1: have done due justice, due diligence to five hundred pages
- 6:19Speaker 1: of legislation in the two days or whatever it was
- 6:21Speaker 1: that they were looking at it. The consequences of this
- 6:23Speaker 1: are enormous and I think that there's all trying to
- 6:26Speaker 1: backtrack and say it'll will be okay, but I think
- 6:28Speaker 1: everybody knows it's bad legislation.
- 6:31Speaker 2: Now let's get back to the potential leadership challenge. There's
- 6:35Speaker 2: a lot being said about Hasty being from Wa. Christie,
- 6:40Speaker 2: can you have a leader from Wa. We've only had
- 6:44Speaker 2: one Prime Minister in Australia's history who has been from WA.
- 6:47Speaker 2: Does seem to be a bit of an impediment.
- 6:50Speaker 5: Look, and this is not my view on backing any
- 6:53Speaker 5: candidate that has currently put their hand up or may
- 6:55Speaker 5: do so in the future. However, we do have him
- 7:00Speaker 5: Beasley was from Western Australia.
- 7:01Speaker 2: And it doesn't work out well, And well, it.
- 7:03Speaker 5: Did work out well, but he held the job for
- 7:05Speaker 5: a long long time. And of course I'm sure Andrew
- 7:08Speaker 5: Hasty will argue that Western Australia is now going to
- 7:12Speaker 5: form a key part or key involvement in the Liberal
- 7:15Speaker 5: Party's policy platform going forward. Shall we ever get some
- 7:18Speaker 5: policies around orcus there's significant investment there from the United
- 7:22Speaker 5: States in housing and infrastructure.
- 7:25Speaker 2: In defense.
- 7:26Speaker 5: I'm sure he'll run the Western Australian line that WA
- 7:31Speaker 5: contributes the most to the running of the national economy
- 7:34Speaker 5: and underpins our standard of living in Western Australia, and
- 7:38Speaker 5: so all of those things are hugely relevant, and perhaps
- 7:41Speaker 5: it might bring some attention to just how relevant Western
- 7:44Speaker 5: Australia is. As a proud Western Australian myself. However, as
- 7:49Speaker 5: I say, he's got a long long way to go
- 7:51Speaker 5: to convince many others of that, as does anyone who
- 7:55Speaker 5: wants the job.
- 7:57Speaker 2: Well, we are in the digital age. I think the
- 7:59Speaker 2: issue being from WA is a lot less than it
- 8:02Speaker 2: was in the past. You know, we're all want our
- 8:05Speaker 2: devices twenty four to seven. You can speak to anybody
- 8:08Speaker 2: anywhere and you can. I'm pretty sure Hasty has a
- 8:11Speaker 2: setup in his home or his office so he can
- 8:15Speaker 2: do media interviews without leaving his electorate if he needs to.
- 8:20Speaker 2: Now let's talk about Australia Day. We've had the usual
- 8:22Speaker 2: Invasion Day rallies, all the hate and hysterian division, but
- 8:27Speaker 2: the polls continue to come in. People are overwhelmingly supportive.
- 8:33Speaker 2: Another poll here by the News Court Papers has found
- 8:36Speaker 2: an overwhelming majority of Australians would not support businesses they
- 8:41Speaker 2: boycott Australia Day. Nearly ninety percent were less likely to
- 8:45Speaker 2: support businesses they boycotted Australia, while only three percent that's
- 8:49Speaker 2: the lowed minority there were more likely to support those businesses.
- 8:54Speaker 2: Ninety six percent said they felt pride when they saw
- 8:58Speaker 2: the Australian flag, and this constant bickering over the date
- 9:02Speaker 2: of Australia Day was also nominated as the worst thing
- 9:06Speaker 2: about the national day. Now. Christy Lush is a company
- 9:11Speaker 2: that is protesting Australia Day. They claim for Indigenous people
- 9:15Speaker 2: it is a day of mourning, survival, and remembrance, a
- 9:18Speaker 2: stark reminder of the violence and dispossession that began with
- 9:22Speaker 2: invasion and continues to echo through systems and lived experiences today.
- 9:28Speaker 2: I mean, really, Lush should concentrate on the hideous stench
- 9:33Speaker 2: that emanates from their stores. I cannot even walk past
- 9:35Speaker 2: one of their stores in a shopping center without getting
- 9:38Speaker 2: a headache that there's some sort of a nuisance that company.
- 9:41Speaker 2: But this is pretty dumb marketing. Sure you're appealing to
- 9:44Speaker 2: the three percent, but ninety percent one don't want our
- 9:48Speaker 2: corporations to get all political, and if they are getting political,
- 9:52Speaker 2: don't be on the wrong side of history.
- 9:54Speaker 5: Of course, and this replicates what we've seen from large
- 9:58Speaker 5: corporates who have actively publicly put out statements saying we
- 10:03Speaker 5: are giving our stuff the choice of celebrating another holiday
- 10:07Speaker 5: and coming in to work on Australiada and choosing to
- 10:09Speaker 5: have a day off another day of their preference. This
- 10:13Speaker 5: is ridiculous that corporates have gone to this extent thinking
- 10:17Speaker 5: that that resonates with the majority of Australians.
- 10:21Speaker 2: It doesn't.
- 10:22Speaker 5: Those numbers that you've pointed out are really really clear,
- 10:25Speaker 5: and I think we're seeing a backlash of people who
- 10:28Speaker 5: are just constantly sick of people not celebrating Australia.
- 10:34Speaker 2: Absolutely our national day. And it's not about the date,
- 10:38Speaker 2: because if you're actually familiar with the date, if you're
- 10:42Speaker 2: familiar with the date of the arrival, you wouldn't be
- 10:47Speaker 2: perturbed by January twenty sixth I learn your history. First
- 10:49Speaker 2: of all, it's about opposition to any celebration of Australia.
- 10:54Speaker 2: You could change the date to whatever you like, whatever
- 10:57Speaker 2: they suggest, and they will still have protests on that day.
- 11:01Speaker 2: But on the corporate virtue signaling, we saw this last year, Colleen.
- 11:05Speaker 2: We had a major hospitality group more than two hundred
- 11:09Speaker 2: venues across Australia, Australian Venues Company. They were forced to
- 11:14Speaker 2: apologize after they told their managers that there should be
- 11:17Speaker 2: no acknowledgment of Australia Day, or January twenty sixth as
- 11:20Speaker 2: they called it. Companies are starting to figure out there's
- 11:25Speaker 2: a price to pay, because for a long time, as
- 11:28Speaker 2: long as you were virtue signaling to the left, they
- 11:32Speaker 2: felt pretty safe because the right kind of just you know,
- 11:36Speaker 2: opt it. But now the rest of the country, the
- 11:40Speaker 2: silent majority is saying nah, enough. We've had it, well,
- 11:44Speaker 2: we saw it.
- 11:44Speaker 1: We've always pay the price with the lack of shoppers
- 11:49Speaker 1: attending their stores. Look, I mean, in any given year
- 11:52Speaker 1: there is Sorry Day, Nadock Week, Reconciliation Week. Australians have
- 11:57Speaker 1: recognized what's happened in the past, We've said sorry. All
- 12:01Speaker 1: Australians want to move on and celebrate our national Day together.
- 12:04Speaker 1: Christie's citing just there. Of the people who were given
- 12:09Speaker 1: the choice of taking a different day of holiday, eighteen
- 12:12Speaker 1: to twenty four year olds at IPA research will tell
- 12:14Speaker 1: you that eighty three percent of them say no, we want.
- 12:17Speaker 2: To celebrate it on Australia Day.
- 12:18Speaker 1: We're proud of our country, We're proud of who we are.
- 12:21Speaker 2: The people who are.
- 12:22Speaker 1: Doing this have no knowledge of history. They should come
- 12:25Speaker 1: to the IPA's schools program dot org dot a you
- 12:28Speaker 1: download a unit about Captain Philip, about the rule of law,
- 12:32Speaker 1: how it was established, about how convicts were given rights.
- 12:36Speaker 1: I mean, there's just so much issue that they're not
- 12:38Speaker 1: knowledgeable of and they need to do a bit of reading.
- 12:40Speaker 5: Before they carry on with all of this and not
- 12:42Speaker 5: taught in schools. Correct And can I also add just
- 12:45Speaker 5: to the corporate virtue signaling that company, that hospitality group
- 12:49Speaker 5: we're speaking about, is owned almost wholly by Singapore investment
- 12:53Speaker 5: company by one Singaporean billionaire. I don't think he really
- 12:57Speaker 5: cares about celebrating Australia Day.
- 13:00Speaker 2: Well, knowing how Singapore is run, I'd say that he'd
- 13:03Speaker 2: be pretty upset about the corporate virtues seen from his
- 13:06Speaker 2: senior managers, and perhaps he's moved them on in the
- 13:09Speaker 2: in the last twelve months. Colleen Harken, Christop mcsquaeney, thank
- 13:12Speaker 2: you so much for your time tonight. Thank hes you.
- 13:16Speaker 2: My next guest is a popular online commentator and she
- 13:19Speaker 2: has a message for the race obsessed self loaths in Australia.
- 13:24Speaker 6: How many times have you heard that Australia has no
- 13:27Speaker 6: culture and if you're not Indigenous, it's not your land,
- 13:30Speaker 6: and that we're just a bunch of murderous colonizers.
- 13:32Speaker 7: Let me be clear to you little freaks.
- 13:34Speaker 2: This land is my land. I was born here.
- 13:37Speaker 6: My skin color and my bloodlines do not dictate my
- 13:40Speaker 6: connection to my land.
- 13:43Speaker 2: Calisa Clements joins me in Melbourne. Callista, welcome to Sky News,
- 13:47Speaker 2: your first time on air.
- 13:49Speaker 8: Here.
- 13:50Speaker 2: Tell me about the anti Australia Day sentiment. It reaches
- 13:54Speaker 2: a fever pitch every year on our national holiday.
- 13:58Speaker 6: Well, thank you so much having me on reader, and
- 14:00Speaker 6: happy Australia Days, Australia Day if you're lucky enough to
- 14:03Speaker 6: be a Victorian like myself. Unfortunately, we do see protests
- 14:07Speaker 6: every single Sunday, something new every single Sunday, and of
- 14:11Speaker 6: course twenty six of January marking a day of national
- 14:15Speaker 6: unity should be national unity and celebration for our beautiful
- 14:18Speaker 6: country and our beautiful people. We see the same people
- 14:22Speaker 6: who preach inclusivity and equality out there on the streets
- 14:26Speaker 6: creating more division in our nation. And it's not helping
- 14:30Speaker 6: the cause for anyone, to be quite frank.
- 14:32Speaker 2: It's not. And they are losing the they're losing the population,
- 14:37Speaker 2: they're losing the majority. There was a Resolve poll today
- 14:40Speaker 2: which found support for changing the date has declined from
- 14:44Speaker 2: thirty nine percent back in twenty twenty three to just
- 14:48Speaker 2: sixteen percent this year, and we've seen multiple poles in
- 14:52Speaker 2: recent weeks showing support for Australia Day is increasing, with
- 14:55Speaker 2: the overwhelming majority of the country against changing the day
- 15:00Speaker 2: and being proud of our national holiday. But despite that
- 15:04Speaker 2: you've still got that very online world, the so called
- 15:08Speaker 2: instanin influencers, TikTokers raging about Australia day. Tell me about
- 15:15Speaker 2: that divide between you could call it the real world
- 15:20Speaker 2: and that very online world of just emoting wildly twenty
- 15:25Speaker 2: four to seven.
- 15:26Speaker 4: Yeah, totally.
- 15:26Speaker 6: I think my stances.
- 15:29Speaker 7: Let them rage.
- 15:30Speaker 6: At the end of the day, it's going to be
- 15:32Speaker 6: their own unraveling. And that's what we're seeing more and more,
- 15:36Speaker 6: I think in the space, especially with a lot of
- 15:38Speaker 6: prominent female commentators, if political commentators, if that's what you
- 15:42Speaker 6: want to call them. They're telling people what to think,
- 15:46Speaker 6: not how to think, and it goes in complete well
- 15:49Speaker 6: contradiction to their whole platform a matter of empowering people,
- 15:53Speaker 6: empowering women, especially to speak up, be bold, and it's
- 15:58Speaker 6: echoing the sentiment that if you don't, if you don't
- 16:01Speaker 6: mimic my voice, then you don't deserve to have a voice.
- 16:04Speaker 2: So a lot of these.
- 16:05Speaker 6: Influencers who are rage baiting us, look there there are
- 16:08Speaker 6: there are their own undoing at the end of the day.
- 16:10Speaker 7: Reader.
- 16:11Speaker 2: Now you didn't name any there, but I mean a
- 16:13Speaker 2: couple will come immediately to my mind. The likes of
- 16:16Speaker 2: Clementine Ford, Abby Chatfield. They seem to fit the mold
- 16:22Speaker 2: of what you just said, where they just tell the
- 16:25Speaker 2: audience what to think. You must think this, or that
- 16:30Speaker 2: you're evil or there's something wrong with you. There's no
- 16:32Speaker 2: critical thinking, there's no diversity of thought. There's really not
- 16:36Speaker 2: much thought at all.
- 16:37Speaker 6: There no correct You know, you've just said two of
- 16:40Speaker 6: my favorite women in one sentence.
- 16:42Speaker 2: They do give you a word bit of They do
- 16:44Speaker 2: give a fair bit of content though then.
- 16:46Speaker 6: They do, which I'm grateful for that that I think
- 16:49Speaker 6: that's the only thing I'm grateful for those two women.
- 16:51Speaker 6: But yeah, I think it's it's disappointing when you have there,
- 16:54Speaker 6: obviously two very influential women, and it is a big
- 16:57Speaker 6: shame when you know you can't preach women empowerment and
- 17:01Speaker 6: then at the exact same time tell a woman that
- 17:04Speaker 6: she's wrong if she doesn't agree with exactly what you're
- 17:07Speaker 6: putting out on the internet. And I think more and
- 17:09Speaker 6: more gratefully people are getting sick and tired of it
- 17:12Speaker 6: and they're seeing through it.
- 17:13Speaker 2: Now, let's talk about one of these so called insta
- 17:17Speaker 2: influences here. This one has railed against Australia Day but
- 17:22Speaker 2: I won't play that clip because she doesn't seem to
- 17:26Speaker 2: just hate Australia day. She seems to have a real
- 17:28Speaker 2: problem with this country and a deep disdain for its
- 17:32Speaker 2: people and culture.
- 17:34Speaker 8: Chech Australian culture, right, you know, the proud culture of
- 17:39Speaker 8: having no teeth, yelling unintelligible phrases, screaming profanity. It's strangers
- 17:45Speaker 8: getting plastered on a Saturday Horvor and smashing a meat
- 17:48Speaker 8: pie in the.
- 17:49Speaker 2: Sorovo car park.
- 17:51Speaker 8: Real Australia first behavior, mate, Yeah, nah, you're doing great,
- 17:57Speaker 8: single handedly preserving the national identity.
- 18:02Speaker 2: Yeah jeez, I can't understand why they're losing support. They're
- 18:07Speaker 2: just just so likable and relatable. But how influential are
- 18:12Speaker 2: these sorts of so called instant influences and tiktoks?
- 18:16Speaker 6: I mean too influential, too prevalent, because I don't want
- 18:20Speaker 6: them to exist at all, ideally, but they.
- 18:24Speaker 2: Give you materials. They give the material right side, Yeah,
- 18:27Speaker 2: exactly right.
- 18:28Speaker 6: And look, I feel a lot of pity for these
- 18:30Speaker 6: these kind of people. And at the end of the day,
- 18:33Speaker 6: this is a very loud minority. It doesn't reflect the
- 18:35Speaker 6: majority of people. Unfortunately, people like this weaponize so many labels,
- 18:40Speaker 6: and it kills people's livelihoods, people's financial livelihoods when it
- 18:44Speaker 6: comes to label. So it's forcing people into silence. But
- 18:47Speaker 6: I can say one thing today is that I can
- 18:50Speaker 6: give you and your audience a lot of hope that
- 18:51Speaker 6: I have an amazing strong community of men and women,
- 18:55Speaker 6: people who have previously been left people who are nuanced
- 18:58Speaker 6: about politics, that are to see common sense and that's
- 19:01Speaker 6: the way forward. And I really do think it's flipping around.
- 19:04Speaker 2: Reader Clister clements. Thank you so much for time.
- 19:06Speaker 6: Time having me, Reader, I appreciate it.
- 19:09Speaker 2: Still to coma lefties Losing it plass the latest from
- 19:13Speaker 2: the US, including reckless retrick from the Democrats following a
- 19:17Speaker 2: fatal ice shooting in Minneapolis. Josh Hammer, that's the latest.
- 19:34Speaker 2: You're watching the Reader Panney show, and it's time for
- 19:37Speaker 2: lefties losing it. Let's start in Minnesota where the spin
- 19:40Speaker 2: doctors have been busy fighting back after revelations of mass
- 19:45Speaker 2: fraud and dysfunction in the Somali community, and they're putting
- 19:49Speaker 2: their best and brightest to work in front of the
- 19:52Speaker 2: media to explain what it means to be Somali in America.
- 19:57Speaker 3: So I'm Samaria.
- 19:58Speaker 2: I I'm proud to be.
- 20:01Speaker 3: To me, being Somali isn't just eating bananas with race.
- 20:05Speaker 2: It's a it's a lie. It's like.
- 20:09Speaker 3: It's a it's a it's an interesting thing. It's a
- 20:12Speaker 3: it's very hard to describe what it means to be
- 20:15Speaker 3: Somali and what it means to be American.
- 20:18Speaker 2: Okay, Han, I know it's hard, but you can do this.
- 20:22Speaker 2: You've already made it clear that being Somali is not
- 20:25Speaker 2: about eating bananas with rice. That's a lie. You got this, and.
- 20:30Speaker 3: It's kind of like the bananas and race. You know,
- 20:34Speaker 3: people don't really see like you know, it's a it's
- 20:38Speaker 3: a it's you know, people don't think, oh, you can
- 20:40Speaker 3: eat bananas with race, but that's what it's like to
- 20:44Speaker 3: be Somali an American. It's like that combination of banana
- 20:48Speaker 3: and race. But you're gonna get what I mean.
- 20:51Speaker 2: You literally said it wasn't about bananas and rice. They
- 20:55Speaker 2: are not sending their best now staying in Minnesota, let's
- 20:58Speaker 2: check in on the frightfully inept Governor Tim Walls. He
- 21:03Speaker 2: is with his scary wife, speaking from behind the gates
- 21:07Speaker 2: of his mansion.
- 21:08Speaker 9: The resistance matters.
- 21:10Speaker 7: We're not knowing people to be silent.
- 21:12Speaker 8: But we're not yelling people to go out and cause problem.
- 21:15Speaker 5: We're going to cause good.
- 21:16Speaker 2: Trouble, cause trouble, all right, Not good trouble, mind you.
- 21:20Speaker 2: No good comes from coming to a violent uprising with
- 21:24Speaker 2: a loaded gun, an extra AMMO and violently obstructing law
- 21:30Speaker 2: enforcement officers. That's what happened in Minneapolis, and that's why
- 21:33Speaker 2: a man is dead. But not if you listen to
- 21:36Speaker 2: the Hollywood elite, they think they're living in Nazi Germany
- 21:40Speaker 2: and those enforcing the law are guilty of gross human
- 21:44Speaker 2: rights violations. Here is the beautiful but bonkers nationally portmand.
- 21:50Speaker 10: What's going on in our country right now is absolutely
- 21:54Speaker 10: horrific with what the federal government, Trump's government, christinelm what
- 22:00Speaker 10: they're doing is really the worst of the worst of humanity.
- 22:04Speaker 10: And then we also have the best of the best
- 22:07Speaker 10: of humanity for the way people are showing up for
- 22:09Speaker 10: each other in community and Americans coming out to support
- 22:13Speaker 10: each other and protect each other and fate against injustice.
- 22:17Speaker 2: So pretty, it's so stupid Americans coming out to support
- 22:23Speaker 2: each other. Really naturally, that's not what's happening. You've got
- 22:27Speaker 2: the lunatic left coming out to obstruct law enforcement and
- 22:31Speaker 2: to protect criminals from deportation. We're not talking about peaceful
- 22:36Speaker 2: protests here, We're talking about obstructing law enforcement, attacking law enforcement.
- 22:44Speaker 2: But again the facts are lost on the Hollywood darlings.
- 22:48Speaker 2: Here's Olivia Wilde, who is allegedly an actress. Here she
- 22:53Speaker 2: emotes wildly.
- 22:54Speaker 11: The world is hurting right now, and this country is
- 22:58Speaker 11: hurting and it's appalling. I'm appalled, I'm sickond and we
- 23:03Speaker 11: can't go another day just sort of accepting this as
- 23:06Speaker 11: our new norm. It's outrageous. People are being murdered, and
- 23:10Speaker 11: I don't want to normalize seeing people being murdered on
- 23:13Speaker 11: the internet, on film.
- 23:15Speaker 2: It's hideous.
- 23:16Speaker 11: And so if we can do anything out here to
- 23:19Speaker 11: support the movement to cast ice out, to delegitimize this
- 23:25Speaker 11: unbelievably criminal organization, then that's what we should be doing.
- 23:31Speaker 11: So I'm proud to wear them.
- 23:34Speaker 2: And here is Chris Kumo, looking like he hasn't slept
- 23:37Speaker 2: or showered for days. And according to the Pharmacy and
- 23:41Speaker 2: n Hack, it is the government that must back down,
- 23:44Speaker 2: let the violent agitators and insurrectionists have their day. Great idea, Chris.
- 23:50Speaker 12: The video accounts show a very troubling episode that beg
- 23:54Speaker 12: for accountability and de escalation, and it has to start
- 23:58Speaker 12: with the government. Okay, we have to start at the top.
- 24:02Speaker 12: These are the people who are charged with knowing how
- 24:06Speaker 12: and insisting on the escalation, the hot talk, the constant threats,
- 24:13Speaker 12: the constant justification. It has to stop. We can't have
- 24:18Speaker 12: government agents shooting and killing American citizens.
- 24:24Speaker 2: Let's bring in Newsweek's senior editor at Large and Article
- 24:28Speaker 2: three Project Senior Council Josh Hammer. Josh Chris Comer argues
- 24:33Speaker 2: that the de escalation must start at the top, that
- 24:37Speaker 2: law enforcement government officials must back down.
- 24:41Speaker 13: Do you agree, reader, Last I checked, it wasn't the
- 24:46Speaker 13: job of law enforcement to de escalate or back down. Rather,
- 24:50Speaker 13: last time I checked, and I'm pretty confident in fact
- 24:53Speaker 13: as a lawyer myself, it's the job of law enforcement
- 24:56Speaker 13: to await, yes, to enforce the law. It's literally in
- 25:00Speaker 13: the name of law enforcements. But they that federal law
- 25:02Speaker 13: enforcement stops enforcing federal law. Federal law seasons to be
- 25:06Speaker 13: taking seriously. But you know, Rita, this is this is
- 25:10Speaker 13: so evocative of some of the worst moments in American history.
- 25:14Speaker 13: Look I'm born in Abraham Lincoln's birthday. I think about
- 25:17Speaker 13: the American Civil War a lot, probably more often, frankly
- 25:20Speaker 13: than I should. When we look at what some of
- 25:23Speaker 13: today's leading provocateurs, these Minnesota anarchiss insurrectionists, who have been
- 25:28Speaker 13: essentially trying to serve the passions of the anti ICE
- 25:31Speaker 13: demagoguery there, people like Tim Walls and Keith Ellison and
- 25:35Speaker 13: Jacob Fry. I was listening to Keith Ellis and the
- 25:38Speaker 13: Attorney General of Minnesota. He was reading off his complaints
- 25:42Speaker 13: from this lawsuit that the State of Minnesota has filed
- 25:45Speaker 13: against DHS and ICE alongside the City of Minneapolis. There,
- 25:48Speaker 13: and he was saying, how the Tenth Amendment and states rights,
- 25:52Speaker 13: the federal government does not belong here. And I'm sitting
- 25:55Speaker 13: there thinking to myself, Man, if you took this Muslim
- 25:57Speaker 13: guy from Minnesota and you put on a thick Southern accent,
- 26:00Speaker 13: the ten Amendment states rods, the federal government does not
- 26:03Speaker 13: belong here, It's like, my God, like, we literally fought
- 26:06Speaker 13: a civil war over this. I mean, this is literally
- 26:08Speaker 13: just nineteen forties or eighteen forties, eighteen fifties era anti
- 26:13Speaker 13: Bellum Southern secessionary fervor. I mean, this is the ghost
- 26:16Speaker 13: of John C. Calhoun, Jefferson Davis, Stonewall Jackson. They don't
- 26:20Speaker 13: see it that way, but that's literally exactly what it is.
- 26:23Speaker 13: So look, you know, on the one hand, Minnesota looks
- 26:26Speaker 13: like a failed state, and certainly, on the one hand,
- 26:29Speaker 13: as an economic conservative, I don't necessarily want to waste
- 26:31Speaker 13: resources trying to rehabilitate this clearly clearly failed boondog will say.
- 26:36Speaker 13: On the other hand, on the other hand, the unmitigated
- 26:39Speaker 13: supremacy of federal law, which by the way, is a
- 26:42Speaker 13: constitutionally required proposition under Article six of the Constitution. That's
- 26:45Speaker 13: the supremacy clause its constitutions required. And oh yeah, as
- 26:49Speaker 13: I said, we literally fought a civil war. Over six
- 26:52Speaker 13: hundred thousand Americans died, They paid the ultimate sacrifice who
- 26:55Speaker 13: established the timeless principle that federal law is supreme in
- 27:00Speaker 13: this country. And now it's on the trumdministration to enforce that,
- 27:03Speaker 13: to enforce the lessons of Abraham Lincoln not to bow
- 27:06Speaker 13: on the face of the dollar in Chris Cuomo and
- 27:08Speaker 13: various other nikompoops like.
- 27:10Speaker 2: That, Josh, it is curious that Ice is operating across America,
- 27:17Speaker 2: but it's just in a select few blue cities, often
- 27:21Speaker 2: riddled with fraud and crime, where this sort of violence,
- 27:24Speaker 2: this sort of uprising is occurring. Tell me about this
- 27:28Speaker 2: latest case we know about this man who was shot dead.
- 27:33Speaker 2: He came to this protest with a loaded gun, and
- 27:37Speaker 2: he had a fair amount of ammunition with him. He
- 27:40Speaker 2: had a license to carry that gun. Who would come
- 27:45Speaker 2: to a protest with a loaded gun knowing you're going
- 27:48Speaker 2: to have contact with law enforcement.
- 27:52Speaker 13: Yeah, just not a very smart thing to do, Okay.
- 27:55Speaker 13: I think that's kind of the underesteeming the sanctuary. I
- 27:58Speaker 13: say that, by the way, as someone who was a concer,
- 28:00Speaker 13: he'll carry holder. I carry a firearm essentially every single
- 28:03Speaker 13: day in my life. But if hypothetically, if I were
- 28:06Speaker 13: so inclined to go here in the United States, here
- 28:08Speaker 13: in Florida where I live, if I were hypothetically inclined
- 28:11Speaker 13: to go to some to go to some protests, I
- 28:13Speaker 13: probably would think twice about bringing lethal force, especially in
- 28:18Speaker 13: a situation in a boiling pot like this. I mean,
- 28:22Speaker 13: this is happening, what two weeks after the after the
- 28:25Speaker 13: death of Renee Good, after she was after she was
- 28:27Speaker 13: shouted at by her by her partner, Drive Baby drive,
- 28:30Speaker 13: you know, leading this this isation, John van Ross to
- 28:32Speaker 13: fire shots. The guy who, by the way, was sent
- 28:34Speaker 13: to the hospital. A lot of people forgot that detail
- 28:36Speaker 13: that the agent and the in the Renee Good case
- 28:38Speaker 13: went to the hospital actually because he had he had
- 28:41Speaker 13: some internal bleeding and some hip damage there. He was
- 28:43Speaker 13: subsequently released there. This is dangerous stuff. This is dangerous stuff.
- 28:47Speaker 13: And you know exactly what you were doing if you
- 28:49Speaker 13: if you are bringing lethal weaponry to a government protest,
- 28:52Speaker 13: let alone a protest in any situation, nothing like that.
- 28:56Speaker 13: Bye bye. By all accounts, by all account bas and
- 28:58Speaker 13: everything that I have read, the individual here, Alex pretty
- 29:01Speaker 13: was told numerous times to stop what he was doing,
- 29:04Speaker 13: to turn over his firearmy, and just to follow orders,
- 29:08Speaker 13: more generally to follow the federal agent's orders there. He
- 29:11Speaker 13: refused to do that, and tragically, that's why he's no.
- 29:14Speaker 2: Longer with us. Because we're not talking just about protests here,
- 29:19Speaker 2: peaceful protests, robust protests. We're talking about active obstruction of
- 29:24Speaker 2: law enforcement. We're talking about aggressive actions. It's a very
- 29:29Speaker 2: different phenomenon to just showing up somewhere and protesting against
- 29:33Speaker 2: what's happening because you don't agree with it. Now. You
- 29:36Speaker 2: mentioned you've got to concealed carry license, and from what
- 29:40Speaker 2: I understand, anyone who has one of those is told
- 29:43Speaker 2: repeatedly through every step of the process, do not engage
- 29:47Speaker 2: with police if you're carrying, not aggressively, not violently. You've
- 29:51Speaker 2: just got to be hyper alert if you are carrying
- 29:55Speaker 2: a loaded gun and you come in contact with police,
- 29:57Speaker 2: because of course they are on high themselves.
- 30:02Speaker 13: Oh yeah, and you know it's not just police, but
- 30:04Speaker 13: it's also just all federal agents. All federal property are
- 30:08Speaker 13: generally speaking here. Look, I mean you go to any
- 30:11Speaker 13: airport here and pretty much any airport in the United States,
- 30:13Speaker 13: there there's a large sign from TSA, which does the
- 30:16Speaker 13: airport screenings, that says, make sure you're not carrying a
- 30:20Speaker 13: weapon when you go through the melitecher there. There is
- 30:22Speaker 13: a glaringly obvious sign in every airport. It's also federal
- 30:25Speaker 13: court rooms. Look, I mean, I'm a lawyer. I know
- 30:27Speaker 13: a bunch of judges. So I think it was about
- 30:29Speaker 13: a year and a half ago or so, I got
- 30:31Speaker 13: lunch with a federal judge here in Miami with him
- 30:33Speaker 13: and his law clerks there, and I left my firearm
- 30:36Speaker 13: at home because I'm not going to bring a gun
- 30:37Speaker 13: into a federal courthouse where there are US marshals. It's
- 30:40Speaker 13: called common sense. I mean, we have a Second Amendment
- 30:43Speaker 13: in this country, and thank God for that. I'm a
- 30:45Speaker 13: huge proponent of the Second Amendment. We also have a
- 30:47Speaker 13: thing between the ears here and there not getting called
- 30:49Speaker 13: common sense, and it's in common upon all of us
- 30:52Speaker 13: to not leave our common sense at home, no matter
- 30:55Speaker 13: how much people like Tim Walls and Keith Ellison and
- 30:57Speaker 13: Jiggle Fry are trying to stir up the passions of
- 30:59Speaker 13: the deep impressionable.
- 31:03Speaker 2: I played a clip of Tim Wolves earlier. His comments
- 31:06Speaker 2: just so reckless you could argue inciting violence. Here is
- 31:11Speaker 2: another Democrat, Mark Kelly, saying that the agitator who was
- 31:16Speaker 2: shot dead here was killed for no reason whatsoever.
- 31:21Speaker 14: Hey, everybody has Senator Mark Kelly.
- 31:22Speaker 12: Hay.
- 31:23Speaker 14: I watched that video of Minneapolis today, probably watched it
- 31:27Speaker 14: a dozen times. Pretty obvious that this man was shot
- 31:32Speaker 14: dead in the street for no reason.
- 31:37Speaker 2: Where is the responsibility just to take a minute and
- 31:43Speaker 2: let the process take place. Let's have an investigation to
- 31:47Speaker 2: see precisely what happened and I've seen that video multiple
- 31:50Speaker 2: times myself, and how he could come to the conclusion
- 31:54Speaker 2: that that man was shot for no reason whatsoever, was
- 31:57Speaker 2: just some sort of cold blooded murder without provocation. It
- 32:02Speaker 2: is incredible to me, Josh, So it's incredible.
- 32:06Speaker 13: And again, Rito, we just saw this. I mean to me,
- 32:09Speaker 13: this is the most remarkable part of all this there
- 32:11Speaker 13: is that we just saw this play out like literally
- 32:15Speaker 13: two weeks ago. So immediately when Renee Good was killed
- 32:17Speaker 13: by Johnathan Rossi the ice station there, they said, oh
- 32:20Speaker 13: my god, it's murdering cold blood. She's trying to swerve
- 32:23Speaker 13: to get away from the video. But then O wait,
- 32:25Speaker 13: we saw a second camera angle. We saw the cars
- 32:27Speaker 13: actually going right at john thrustigation. O wait, then we
- 32:30Speaker 13: find out that there was actually a hospital record of
- 32:33Speaker 13: the agent being admitted to the hospital because he was
- 32:35Speaker 13: hit and he had internal bleeding around his waist and
- 32:38Speaker 13: hit Perrier there. Then O wait, we saw the video
- 32:41Speaker 13: of the partner saying drive baby, drive instact in there.
- 32:43Speaker 13: So these things do take time to actually learn all
- 32:47Speaker 13: of the details of the situation there. And I think
- 32:49Speaker 13: back to those to those first moments after the Renee
- 32:51Speaker 13: Good shooting. You had zoramm Donnie AOC and saying that
- 32:55Speaker 13: she was murdered. Renee Goo was murdered. That's what Mark
- 32:57Speaker 13: Kelly's saying here too about Alex Pray, that this is
- 33:00Speaker 13: murder and cold blood on the streets of America. There
- 33:02Speaker 13: have you people not learned your lesson? What are you
- 33:05Speaker 13: trying to do? I mean, I mean, ironically, these democrats
- 33:08Speaker 13: like Mark Kelly, they're claiming they're purporting to care about
- 33:12Speaker 13: Americans feelings there actually, do you know what the single
- 33:15Speaker 13: best thing, the single best thing to protect the health, safety,
- 33:19Speaker 13: and security, prosperity and flourishing of the American people to
- 33:22Speaker 13: have law enforcements do their job. It's not like they're
- 33:25Speaker 13: going Dora door trying to find the guy who's picking
- 33:27Speaker 13: strawberries down the local farm. They're going Dora door trying
- 33:30Speaker 13: above all to find people like sex offenders and child
- 33:35Speaker 13: sex traffickers and gang beggers and murderers and rapists and
- 33:38Speaker 13: transnational criminals. That's what they're trying to do. So if
- 33:41Speaker 13: you want the American people to be safe, which if
- 33:43Speaker 13: you take Mark Kelly at his word, and you probably shouldn't,
- 33:45Speaker 13: we were taken a word. That's what he seems to
- 33:47Speaker 13: want there, then you should support Ice to the t.
- 33:49Speaker 13: Final note on this, I have to know that Mark
- 33:51Speaker 13: Kelly is from a very interesting state when it comes
- 33:53Speaker 13: to the whole immigration conversation. He's from Arizona, a safe that,
- 33:57Speaker 13: alongside Texas, has really kind of ground zero for America's
- 34:00Speaker 13: ever roiling immigration wars. Does Mark Kelly think that it
- 34:03Speaker 13: is good politics there in the state of Arizona to
- 34:07Speaker 13: be going this soft, this soft on immigration for us
- 34:10Speaker 13: and there, I think he's going to be in for
- 34:11Speaker 13: a very very rude awakening when it comes to his
- 34:13Speaker 13: senatorial reelection if he keeps us up.
- 34:15Speaker 2: Frankly, now, we've heard plenty of reckless metric from Democrats,
- 34:22Speaker 2: some of them arguably inciting violence, but the influencers are
- 34:25Speaker 2: also doing their big josh. Here is one encouraging is
- 34:29Speaker 2: hundreds of thousands of followers to learn how to shoot guns.
- 34:34Speaker 15: You all need to be arming yourselves right now. You
- 34:36Speaker 15: all need to learn how to shoot guns. You all
- 34:38Speaker 15: need to learn how to protect yourselves. You guys need
- 34:40Speaker 15: to learn what to do in a situation where you
- 34:42Speaker 15: get detained and how to help your friends when they
- 34:44Speaker 15: are getting detained. You all need to become aware of
- 34:48Speaker 15: what's happening right now and how there is no protesting
- 34:52Speaker 15: this without some sort of militant action.
- 34:58Speaker 2: There you go, there's no so protesting this without some
- 35:02Speaker 2: sort of militant action. And the coverage of this story,
- 35:06Speaker 2: I've got to tell you globally is as you would expect,
- 35:09Speaker 2: is the regurgitation of the MSNBCCNN line that this was
- 35:15Speaker 2: just completely unjustified. These are peaceful protesters that are being
- 35:21Speaker 2: shot in cold blood. But there you get an idea
- 35:24Speaker 2: of the messaging that some of these activists are receiving,
- 35:29Speaker 2: and sadly some of them are listening Josh and turning
- 35:32Speaker 2: up to a violent protest with a loaded gun.
- 35:38Speaker 13: These people like that so called influencer I've not heard remembered.
- 35:41Speaker 13: Apparently he's an influencer. They're trying to get people killed. Okay,
- 35:46Speaker 13: that is literally what they are trying to do. They're
- 35:48Speaker 13: trying to stir up the passions and people like Renee
- 35:52Speaker 13: Good and people like Alex Pray. They're trying to put
- 35:54Speaker 13: them out there as Canon fighter, as Canon fighter for
- 35:57Speaker 13: what I mean to accomplish, what is out there make
- 36:00Speaker 13: people angrier and angrier against Ice. By the way, it's
- 36:03Speaker 13: actually not even working. There was a poll from the
- 36:05Speaker 13: New York Times Siena College when one of our most
- 36:07Speaker 13: reputable pollsters the United States there and they did it
- 36:10Speaker 13: that a lot of questions, massive survey just last week,
- 36:13Speaker 13: and one of the questions was approved disapprove of Donald
- 36:15Speaker 13: Trump's handling of immigration enforcements fifty to forty seven net approval. So,
- 36:21Speaker 13: despite all of this, despite all the information operation from
- 36:25Speaker 13: ms NOW and CNN and all the usual suspects there,
- 36:28Speaker 13: the American people still still by and large support Donald
- 36:31Speaker 13: Trump's immigration agenda. By the way, Hispanics were actually barely
- 36:35Speaker 13: underwater by like ten points or maybe even just under
- 36:38Speaker 13: that in that New York Times Siena College bowl there.
- 36:40Speaker 13: So the notion that this is a huge political liability
- 36:42Speaker 13: for the trumpministration, I think is just total gobbledybook with
- 36:46Speaker 13: no semblance in reality there. So you're not really going
- 36:49Speaker 13: to score political points. What are you trying to do? Like,
- 36:52Speaker 13: what is the goal here other than to get people
- 36:55Speaker 13: killed on both sides of the standoff, innocent people who
- 36:58Speaker 13: are going to be riled up to try to do
- 36:59Speaker 13: thequote unquote right thing there where you're trying to get
- 37:02Speaker 13: more Ice agents killed as well, and ultimately read that
- 37:05Speaker 13: ultimate ability is where I come down to me.
- 37:07Speaker 11: It is.
- 37:09Speaker 13: There in the radical left. To be a left that's
- 37:12Speaker 13: going back to the French Revolution means that you believe
- 37:15Speaker 13: to some extent in violence. We saw that with the
- 37:17Speaker 13: murder of my friend Charlie Kirk. We've seen it with
- 37:19Speaker 13: the multiple attempts of assassination on Donald Trump's life. We
- 37:22Speaker 13: saw with the assassination of the Night Healthcare CEO from
- 37:25Speaker 13: this socialized medicine fanatic. We see it over and over
- 37:29Speaker 13: and over again. There they are willing able and times
- 37:32Speaker 13: eager to resort to violence, and it's horrific, horrific stuff there.
- 37:36Speaker 13: And frankly, that above balls what we're seeing playing out
- 37:38Speaker 13: here along with this neo Confederates insurrection behavior that ultimately
- 37:42Speaker 13: must be stomped and crushed by the sheer might enforce
- 37:44Speaker 13: of federal law enforcement.
- 37:48Speaker 2: Now, we've had a bunch of actors in Stained Flauencer's
- 37:52Speaker 2: activists emoting wildly about what's happening in Minneapolis, But we
- 37:56Speaker 2: cannot forget Steve Kerr, the Golden State Larrior's head coach,
- 38:01Speaker 2: has spoken of his love for Minnesota, and he's decried
- 38:05Speaker 2: the misinformation in the media about what's happening in the
- 38:09Speaker 2: state of Minnesota. I think I agree with him about that, Josh,
- 38:13Speaker 2: probably not for the same reasons. But there has been
- 38:16Speaker 2: so much misinformation. You talked about what happened two weeks
- 38:21Speaker 2: ago with Renee Good, what's happening right now with his
- 38:24Speaker 2: latest shooting. But the amount of misinformation we saw in
- 38:28Speaker 2: the past week about a five year old that was
- 38:32Speaker 2: supposedly snatched by ice was astonishing, even by the standards
- 38:38Speaker 2: we've come to us to sadly, except Josh tell us
- 38:42Speaker 2: what really happened in this case.
- 38:46Speaker 13: So first of all, you know, Steve Kerr is something
- 38:48Speaker 13: of a said keep I mean, I remember watching this
- 38:50Speaker 13: guy back in nineteen nineties, back when he was a
- 38:52Speaker 13: sharpshooter for the Chicago Bulls. Steve Kerr was Michael Jordan's
- 38:55Speaker 13: team antem many of those Chicago Bulls. Seems there he
- 38:57Speaker 13: had a beautiful jump shot. This guy is an is
- 39:00Speaker 13: it totally bonkers out to left field? Left this it
- 39:03Speaker 13: was either his father or someone very close to him,
- 39:05Speaker 13: Rita who was killed and a hes Bollah terrorst attack
- 39:08Speaker 13: in Lebanon in the early nineteen eighties and to this
- 39:11Speaker 13: day Steve Kerr is one of the biggest cheerleaders of
- 39:14Speaker 13: the anti Israel Palestinian Arab caused it, which is just
- 39:17Speaker 13: it makes your mind just want to explode. There, So
- 39:19Speaker 13: here he is yet again there and frankly, I think
- 39:22Speaker 13: back to that line from Laura Ingram so many years
- 39:24Speaker 13: ago talking about Lebron James, which is just shut up
- 39:26Speaker 13: and dribble, or in this case of Steve's Kurr, shut
- 39:29Speaker 13: up in coach. He's actually very good coach, by the way,
- 39:31Speaker 13: if he stuck to that, maybe he would have frankly,
- 39:33Speaker 13: a lot more success there in our conversations like this,
- 39:35Speaker 13: look this misinformation about this five year old boy there,
- 39:38Speaker 13: that's not what happened. They were not going after the
- 39:40Speaker 13: five year old boy. They were going after the actual
- 39:42Speaker 13: father there. The five year old boy was essentially there
- 39:44Speaker 13: right in the way there. But that's what they do.
- 39:46Speaker 13: They take the tiniest, tiniest morsel of connection to the
- 39:49Speaker 13: story and they run with it in an entirely different direction,
- 39:52Speaker 13: because again, the ultimate goal here is not to deliver
- 39:54Speaker 13: the truth. It is to stir the passions, as demagogues
- 39:58Speaker 13: have been doing for thousands of years there. It turns
- 40:00Speaker 13: out that today one of the biggest places where these
- 40:03Speaker 13: passions are unleashed is on federal law enforcement. So reader,
- 40:07Speaker 13: like many Americans, I pray, I really do pray for
- 40:10Speaker 13: the health and safety and efficacy of this nation's federal
- 40:13Speaker 13: law enforcement apprians because they are UNDERSEGD now, they are
- 40:16Speaker 13: absolutely underseiegs there. They need our support, they need our prayers,
- 40:20Speaker 13: and ultimately they need the courage to do their job
- 40:23Speaker 13: because the rule of law depends on Without the rule
- 40:25Speaker 13: of law, there is no society, there is no freedom,
- 40:28Speaker 13: there is no liberty, There's nothing.
- 40:32Speaker 2: Josh Amma, thank you so much for your time tonight.
- 40:34Speaker 2: Thank you still to come. Glen Beckham is said to
- 40:38Speaker 2: follow in Prince Harry's footsteps with a tell memoir exposing
- 40:43Speaker 2: his family. Kinsisco Field has the details. Welcome joining me now,
- 41:01Speaker 2: celebrity and royal commentator and host of Kinsey Schofield Unfiltered
- 41:06Speaker 2: Kinsey Schofield. Let's start with David and Victoria Beckham. They
- 41:09Speaker 2: are reportedly in crisis mode amid speculation their eldest son, Brooklyn,
- 41:15Speaker 2: is preparing to publish a tell all biography exposing his
- 41:20Speaker 2: allegedly greedy and self obsessed parents. Beckham biographer Tom Bauer
- 41:26Speaker 2: has written in The Daily Mail Brooklyn might be a
- 41:29Speaker 2: spoiled brat, but when it comes to sympathy, the twenty
- 41:32Speaker 2: six year old winds hands down. If there were ever
- 41:35Speaker 2: a victim of rapacious parents and a dysfunctional family, it's
- 41:40Speaker 2: the Beckham's eldest son, Wow Kinsey. This sounds appalling, and
- 41:45Speaker 2: yet I can't look away.
- 41:48Speaker 9: And Tom Bauer always has his hands exactly where we
- 41:51Speaker 9: want it, whether it's Harry and Megan drama are the Beckhams, Tom.
- 41:54Speaker 7: Bauer is the guy.
- 41:55Speaker 9: I don't doubt that growing up in the Beckham household
- 41:58Speaker 9: came with pressure, but I have a heart time extending
- 42:00Speaker 9: real sympathy to someone who has been handed every possible advantage.
- 42:05Speaker 9: Brooklyn has had to work for very little, married into
- 42:07Speaker 9: a billionaire family, and will never face genuine financial insecurity.
- 42:11Speaker 9: At some point, we need to reserve our empathy for
- 42:14Speaker 9: real world struggles, not extremely privileged adults who resent the
- 42:18Speaker 9: very lives their parents built for them. I think David
- 42:22Speaker 9: and Victoria understand the business, the stakes, and the long game. Brooklyn,
- 42:26Speaker 9: frankly is still figuring out who he is, and let's
- 42:29Speaker 9: hope it's not a chef okay.
- 42:33Speaker 2: Or a photographer because that photography book, Yeah, that ain't
- 42:38Speaker 2: a work of genius. But I have heard other commentators,
- 42:44Speaker 2: people who are normally trusted, say that all is not
- 42:49Speaker 2: what it seems with David and Victoria Beckham. They have
- 42:52Speaker 2: crafted this public image that's very masterful, the very likable, relatable,
- 42:58Speaker 2: but it's not authentic. What do you say to that?
- 43:01Speaker 2: I mean, I remember the whole Rebecca Lose thing, the
- 43:04Speaker 2: fact that David was sleeping with the nanny and Victoria
- 43:08Speaker 2: just look the other way and it wasn't an isolated incident,
- 43:11Speaker 2: and then it makes you question the whole persona, the
- 43:14Speaker 2: whole image they put out, whether there's anything real about it.
- 43:19Speaker 9: Yeah, I mean Tom Bower wrote a really great book
- 43:22Speaker 9: about your point right there, about how much so much
- 43:26Speaker 9: of it is theater, so much of it is highly choreographed,
- 43:29Speaker 9: and how hateful they could be towards each other in
- 43:32Speaker 9: this pursuit for fame, celebrity and money.
- 43:36Speaker 7: But I'm obsessed with it. I can't not love them.
- 43:40Speaker 7: I don't know, there's something that the ambition in them.
- 43:43Speaker 7: I admire it.
- 43:43Speaker 9: I admire the never complain, never explain they continue to
- 43:47Speaker 9: show up.
- 43:48Speaker 7: I admire the commitment.
- 43:49Speaker 2: Reader, Well, yeah, it's entertaining. I've got to say they
- 43:56Speaker 2: do make good reality TV, much better than Megan and Harry,
- 44:00Speaker 2: who will talk about shortly now. Prominent Hollywood stars have
- 44:04Speaker 2: used the Sundance Film Festival to condemn the shooting of
- 44:08Speaker 2: Alex Pretty by ice agents in Minnesota. One of these actresses,
- 44:13Speaker 2: Olivia Wilde. I featured her earlier a set that she
- 44:18Speaker 2: was appalled she was wearing an Ice out badge. Let's
- 44:22Speaker 2: hear from her again.
- 44:24Speaker 11: World is hurting right now, and this country is hurting
- 44:27Speaker 11: and it's appalling. I'm appalled, I'm sickond and we can't
- 44:32Speaker 11: go another day. Just sort of accepting this as our
- 44:35Speaker 11: new norm. It's it's outrageous people are being murdered.
- 44:40Speaker 2: Natalie Portman also had a lot to say, Kinsey.
- 44:45Speaker 9: Yeah, I mean there is something surreal about condemning Ice
- 44:48Speaker 9: whilst standing at an elite Sundance event surrounded by.
- 44:52Speaker 7: Wealth and status.
- 44:53Speaker 9: That disconnect is why critics see moments like this as
- 44:57Speaker 9: virtue signaling rather than meaningful out vocacy.
- 45:00Speaker 7: I would take Olivia while much more.
- 45:02Speaker 9: Seriously if she said, and that's why I've donated this
- 45:06Speaker 9: amount of money to the victim's family, but you never
- 45:08Speaker 9: hear you never hear that, but yes. Natalie Portman also
- 45:12Speaker 9: said that while they were at Sundance, she felt like
- 45:15Speaker 9: she was seeing beauty from Americans. They're showing up for
- 45:19Speaker 9: each other, protecting each other, and fighting for their freedom.
- 45:22Speaker 9: She said, it's a bittersweet moment to celebrate something we're
- 45:24Speaker 9: so proud of on the backdrop of our nation and pain.
- 45:29Speaker 7: So I don't know. It's a double edged sword. Acknowledge it.
- 45:35Speaker 2: They're so desperately out of touch. It really is kind
- 45:39Speaker 2: of comic cool, but it is also pathetic because you
- 45:43Speaker 2: never hear them come out and say anything when you
- 45:46Speaker 2: have innocent people slaughtered by people who are in the
- 45:49Speaker 2: country illegally. They say nothing about the fact that the
- 45:52Speaker 2: murder rate in the US dropped by around twenty percent
- 45:56Speaker 2: last year, the biggest drop in a single year. That
- 45:59Speaker 2: care about that. All they care about is this sort
- 46:03Speaker 2: of division and regurgitating the hard lefts talking points and
- 46:08Speaker 2: pretending they're somehow enlightened and kind. I mean, give me
- 46:13Speaker 2: a break. I've got very little patience for them, and
- 46:17Speaker 2: very little patience for Kristen Stewart and other actress who's
- 46:20Speaker 2: gone on an insane anti Trump rant saying she wants
- 46:24Speaker 2: to make movies in Europe then shove them down the
- 46:28Speaker 2: throats of the American people because reality is breaking under Trump. Kinsey,
- 46:34Speaker 2: she is about the worst actress I think that's come
- 46:37Speaker 2: out of Hollywood in the last two decades. But tell
- 46:40Speaker 2: me about this new political activism from.
- 46:43Speaker 7: Her, I mean, is it new?
- 46:46Speaker 9: Every time she doesn't wear pants, I'm assuming she's trying
- 46:49Speaker 9: to make some form of a political statement. But Christian
- 46:52Speaker 9: Stewart preaching morality is a tough sell for audiences who
- 46:56Speaker 9: remember her very public controversies. This is the same woman
- 46:59Speaker 9: that she on Robert Pattinson with her married director in
- 47:04Speaker 9: front of the entire world. People are done being lectured
- 47:07Speaker 9: by Hollywood, and the industry is now paying the price
- 47:10Speaker 9: for that disconnect.
- 47:11Speaker 7: A lot of them are unemployed.
- 47:13Speaker 9: We talk a lot about how there's no work here
- 47:15Speaker 9: for entertainers thanks to Gavin Newsome.
- 47:18Speaker 7: But it's also this lecturing right here.
- 47:20Speaker 9: People want an escape, they want to get away, and
- 47:23Speaker 9: they're tired of being told about how awful the world
- 47:26Speaker 9: is by these people in Chanel that are living their
- 47:29Speaker 9: best lives.
- 47:32Speaker 2: And it's just so vacuous. That's the problem. If these
- 47:36Speaker 2: were people who had taken the time to be fully
- 47:39Speaker 2: informed about an issue, and we're talking from a position
- 47:43Speaker 2: of deep knowledge, they need go Okay, there's at least
- 47:47Speaker 2: something we're learning here, but it's always so vacuous and pointless. Now.
- 47:53Speaker 2: Prince Harry Megan Mikael also appeared at sun Dance to
- 47:56Speaker 2: promote their latest documentary, Cookie Queens, which follows the story
- 48:01Speaker 2: of four determined girl scouts as they navigate the multimillion
- 48:05Speaker 2: dollar business of cookie sALS. Kid See the doco is
- 48:09Speaker 2: already turning out to be a bit of a flop.
- 48:12Speaker 2: It failed to sell out and fill the theater even
- 48:15Speaker 2: at the Festival's that's not a good sign.
- 48:18Speaker 7: It's not a good sign.
- 48:19Speaker 9: You'd imagine that celebrities would be crawling, you know, so
- 48:23Speaker 9: excited about being associated with royals in some way, shape
- 48:26Speaker 9: or form, but that just wasn't the case. Is the
- 48:28Speaker 9: lights went low and the film began roughly one hundred
- 48:31Speaker 9: and fifty unoccupied seats.
- 48:33Speaker 7: Scattered throughout the theater.
- 48:35Speaker 9: Page six reports that weightlisters, which are you know, the nobodies,
- 48:39Speaker 9: slowly filled empty places that were reserved for the high
- 48:43Speaker 9: profile Sun Dance passholders, who mostly ignored the visiting royals
- 48:48Speaker 9: the night before. Just to give you an idea, the
- 48:50Speaker 9: same theater was so packed for the invite premiere that
- 48:53Speaker 9: one hundred ticket holders were turned away. So it's not
- 48:56Speaker 9: a good look. But I we do love girl Scouts.
- 48:59Speaker 9: We APOLOGI Jasen Megan Mirkle's gotten involved with them. But
- 49:01Speaker 9: god love girl Scouts.
- 49:05Speaker 2: And I love cookies. So you know, this stuker seems
- 49:07Speaker 2: to be have a couple of positives. But before you go,
- 49:12Speaker 2: The producers of Broadway show Seeks the Musical have defended
- 49:16Speaker 2: their decision to cast transgender influencer Dylan mulvaney as one
- 49:20Speaker 2: of the main characters and boilin the second wife of
- 49:23Speaker 2: King Henry the Eighth, after copying major backlash from social
- 49:28Speaker 2: media Kinsey they even restricted their ex account and condemned
- 49:33Speaker 2: bully in all its forms in response to some of
- 49:36Speaker 2: the feedback.
- 49:38Speaker 9: Look, some of the commentary is fair, and that feedback
- 49:42Speaker 9: is the feedback getting under Dylan's skin. Some people are
- 49:44Speaker 9: challenging whether Dylan earned their spot for their talent or
- 49:48Speaker 9: was given the opportunity based on their infamy. Dylan believes
- 49:52Speaker 9: they have the talent. Not my favorite, Anne Boleyn, but
- 49:55Speaker 9: I will tell you that if King Henry the Eighth
- 49:58Speaker 9: would have caught Ane Berlen with a hot dog down there,
- 50:00Speaker 9: she probably would have lost her head a lot sooner.
- 50:05Speaker 2: Yes, I think you'd be right right Bekins's Gophil, thank
- 50:09Speaker 2: you so much for your time tonight, and that's it
- 50:12Speaker 2: for me. Newsnight is up next
