- 0:18Speaker 1: It is time to leave your worries outside and laugh
- 0:23Speaker 1: with us inside the treehouse. I'm Dan ol Malley along
- 0:28Speaker 1: with Raz Sharma and Jerry Caldwell on a Fried Day,
- 0:35Speaker 1: August fifteenth, twenty twenty five. Welcome to the end of
- 0:38Speaker 1: your week, hopefully not the end of your roope. Mm
- 0:42Speaker 1: hm oh, hang on, I got I still got some
- 0:45Speaker 1: congestion in my chest, which means I have Friday a
- 0:49Speaker 1: little too hard just then, So now I got a
- 0:51Speaker 1: little broke tickle, so I hain't gonna sip the water.
- 0:56Speaker 2: I'm totally gonna use that. Would you look like hell guy,
- 1:01Speaker 2: Friday a little too hard?
- 1:03Speaker 1: Yeah, anyway, I'm feeling much better now, thank you. Just
- 1:13Speaker 1: a couple of weeks ago, news came out that radioactive
- 1:17Speaker 1: wasps had been found at a Cold War era nuclear
- 1:20Speaker 1: site in South Carolina, And now Peter cottontail might be
- 1:26Speaker 1: turning into Peter's spike face. Rabbits with horrifying spikes growing
- 1:34Speaker 1: from their heads are invading the United States.
- 1:40Speaker 3: That's right, say that again.
- 1:43Speaker 1: Rabbits with horrifying spikes growing from their heads are invading
- 1:48Speaker 1: the United States, and experts are warning us to stay away.
- 1:54Speaker 1: He thinks appreciate that.
- 1:56Speaker 3: Heads up, Doc, I'm gonna stay away from the rhino rabbit.
- 2:04Speaker 1: A rapidly spreading virus is causing cottontail rabbits to grow
- 2:08Speaker 1: black tentacle like growths out of their heads, warnings to
- 2:13Speaker 1: steer clear of the mutated animals. Oh good, bunny mutants.
- 2:18Speaker 2: You started with spikes. Now it's tentacles. That's an entirely
- 2:21Speaker 2: different thing.
- 2:22Speaker 1: I feel I feel like this is all a fluid situation,
- 2:28Speaker 1: and people are throwing around different descriptions and different adjectives
- 2:32Speaker 1: to describe this virus that's affecting cottontail rabbits, and at
- 2:38Speaker 1: the end of the days, it's bad.
- 2:42Speaker 2: Spikes scurrying out is scary, but tentacles are gd terrifying.
- 2:50Speaker 1: They're also calling them Francin' bunnies. Yeah, yeah, Franken bunnies
- 2:56Speaker 1: have been spotted multiple times in Fort Collins, Colorado, oh
- 3:01Speaker 1: One resident told the News she saw a rabbit with
- 3:04Speaker 1: what looked like black quills or black toothpicks sticking out
- 3:08Speaker 1: all around his or her mouth.
- 3:12Speaker 4: Yeah. Do you know how good the weed in Colorado is?
- 3:18Speaker 4: That's what's happening.
- 3:20Speaker 1: Probably pretty good. However, I'm gonna show you a photo
- 3:24Speaker 1: of one of these uh fike headed rabbits, and you
- 3:29Speaker 1: tell me if this is someone that had too good
- 3:32Speaker 1: of a gummy.
- 3:37Speaker 2: Oh wow, that is uh okay, that's gonna be a
- 3:40Speaker 2: no for me dog.
- 3:42Speaker 3: Yeah, that's gonna be. Yeah. You run away from that,
- 3:45Speaker 3: that's for sure.
- 3:46Speaker 1: Yeah. Yeah, that's uh that's one do not pet, no
- 3:52Speaker 1: longer friend shaped.
- 3:56Speaker 3: That rabbit doesn't eat lettuce.
- 4:00Speaker 1: That rabbit eats ass.
- 4:07Speaker 4: That's where that virus came from. Yeah, that's the You
- 4:15Speaker 4: don't want to die by that. And if you did
- 4:20Speaker 4: the obituary, you don't want any mention of it.
- 4:25Speaker 1: This lady in Colorado said she thought he would die
- 4:28Speaker 1: off during the winter, but he didn't. She said he
- 4:30Speaker 1: came back a second year and it had grown. One
- 4:34Speaker 1: person described the infected critter as having a scabby ish
- 4:38Speaker 1: looking growth over its face. The so called bunny blight
- 4:42Speaker 1: is actually a disease called cottontail papaloma virus CrPV, also
- 4:48Speaker 1: known as shop papaloma virus, which causes cottontail bunnies to
- 4:52Speaker 1: sprout tumors around their head. It's spread by parasites like
- 4:57Speaker 1: ticks and fleas, which pass on the ailment through the bites.
- 5:02Speaker 1: So just imagine if human papilloma virus looked like this,
- 5:07Speaker 1: then we'd all know who had it and we would
- 5:13Speaker 1: know not to pet or.
- 5:15Speaker 4: They're just gonna be the lead singer of primus.
- 5:19Speaker 1: What they all look like?
- 5:20Speaker 4: Uh gar, Yeah, that's frightening.
- 5:26Speaker 1: Wow, constant tail.
- 5:30Speaker 3: It's from flee and texts as always said.
- 5:32Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, they say. Typically rabbits become infected in the
- 5:35Speaker 1: warmer months of summer, when transmitted by being bitten by
- 5:38Speaker 1: insects like fleas and ticks. That's according to Colorado Parks
- 5:42Speaker 1: and Wildlife spokesperson Caravan, who's she says, well, the recent
- 5:48Speaker 1: sightings occurred in Colorado. The disease is most frequently rears
- 5:52Speaker 1: its horny head in the Midwest. In twenty thirteen, of
- 5:56Speaker 1: Minnesota resident caused a stir after posting a video of
- 5:59Speaker 1: a tendril ritten rabbit in his backyard, which he dubbed
- 6:02Speaker 1: the Frankenstein bunny and compared it to the mythical jackalope,
- 6:06Speaker 1: a hoax that was promulgated by jokesters sewing antlers on
- 6:09Speaker 1: the taxidermy rabbits. In light of the rampant CrPV sightings.
- 6:15Speaker 1: Wildlife experts have worn people not to approach or handle
- 6:18Speaker 1: any of the affected critters. Yeah. While the virus can
- 6:23Speaker 1: spread between rabbits, it is not known to infect humans
- 6:27Speaker 1: or pets, and is therefore not considered a threat.
- 6:30Speaker 3: To public health. Okay yet yet?
- 6:36Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 6:36Speaker 3: Good?
- 6:37Speaker 4: Okay, because I've reared my horny head in the Midwest
- 6:39Speaker 4: as well.
- 6:44Speaker 1: With similar alarmist consequences.

- 7:54Speaker 1: I'm Daniel Malley, along with Jerry Caldwell and Raj Sharma.
- 7:58Speaker 1: Noticeably missing today is our very own Trey Trendholm, who
- 8:03Speaker 1: last night as far as I know went to the
- 8:06Speaker 1: thirty five plus dating event on the Daity Trail, even
- 8:10Speaker 1: though it was on Greenville in Dallas. Anyway, as far
- 8:14Speaker 1: as I know, Trey went to the dating event last night,
- 8:17Speaker 1: and since he's not here today, I can only assume
- 8:20Speaker 1: things went really really well I told you, or really
- 8:24Speaker 1: really bad. I don't know. The good news is we
- 8:27Speaker 1: get to live in suspense until he shows his face.
- 8:31Speaker 1: Hopefully it is not ridden with papolloma virus tumors like
- 8:35Speaker 1: those poor bunnies in the Midwest.
- 8:37Speaker 3: It would be great if it was, though.
- 8:39Speaker 1: I hope he does. At least we wouldn't have to
- 8:43Speaker 1: ask him what happened.
- 8:46Speaker 4: Comes back on the air with mouth sores like so
- 8:49Speaker 4: it is a successful night.
- 8:51Speaker 1: I guess you got in the wrong ass anyway, in
- 9:02Speaker 1: case you didn't realize it based on all your friends'
- 9:04Speaker 1: activity on social media. It's back to school season. Whether
- 9:09Speaker 1: kids have gone back already this week, or they're going
- 9:11Speaker 1: back next week, or some other combination of the two.
- 9:16Speaker 1: It's so many school districts now start at different times.
- 9:20Speaker 1: I think that this week was pretty much the most
- 9:24Speaker 1: common week for kids to go back to school, followed
- 9:28Speaker 1: by probably next week as the next most popular, at
- 9:32Speaker 1: least as far as Texas is concerned. Yeah, but back
- 9:36Speaker 1: to school seasons always kind of fascinating, and someone decided
- 9:39Speaker 1: to do a survey. In a poll, someone decided to
- 9:42Speaker 1: ask more than one thousand adults how they usually felt
- 9:46Speaker 1: about going back to school when they were kids. Thirty
- 9:50Speaker 1: five percent said they were generally happy about it, including
- 9:54Speaker 1: fourteen percent who were very happy.
- 9:58Speaker 3: Yeah, on that fourteen percent, I loved going to school.
- 10:04Speaker 1: Let me ask you this, did you love going to
- 10:06Speaker 1: school in general or did you just love the first
- 10:09Speaker 1: day of school.
- 10:11Speaker 3: I loved all of school.
- 10:12Speaker 1: Okay, yeah, because I really enjoyed the first day of school.
- 10:18Speaker 1: I even enjoyed some of the preparations of going back
- 10:20Speaker 1: to school. While keeping in mind I thoroughly loved my
- 10:22Speaker 1: summer vacations. And I I did summer vacations right, you know,
- 10:28Speaker 1: I did all the things. I stayed outside all day,
- 10:30Speaker 1: only came inside when needed for food.
- 10:34Speaker 4: Uh.
- 10:34Speaker 1: Water was typically garden hose water, like a proud genexer should.
- 10:40Speaker 1: And at the end of a day, maybe sit on
- 10:41Speaker 1: the front porch with a cold icy bee cream soda
- 10:45Speaker 1: root beer, pretending it was a beer. Again, like a good,
- 10:48Speaker 1: proud gen xer. Yeah, and think about my accomplishments throughout
- 10:52Speaker 1: that hot summer day. Now spital that I still enjoyed
- 10:56Speaker 1: the back to school traditions. I actually kind of liked
- 10:59Speaker 1: going back to school shopping, got some new clothes, got
- 11:03Speaker 1: new supplies because the first day of school was the
- 11:07Speaker 1: most organized day of school. I would have the entire
- 11:10Speaker 1: year like the day before, A day or two before,
- 11:13Speaker 1: I'd get all my new supplies put together. I'd color
- 11:16Speaker 1: coordinate all my folders by subject and the binder. Maybe
- 11:20Speaker 1: a new backpack, pencil bag or something maybe, which of
- 11:25Speaker 1: course didn't fit in my trapper keeper because I had
- 11:27Speaker 1: the big pencil.
- 11:29Speaker 4: I was gonna say, you only need one of those
- 11:32Speaker 4: for the entire year.
- 11:34Speaker 1: It was more like a thing strapped to my back,
- 11:36Speaker 1: like a samurai thord. But yeah, no, that really was
- 11:39Speaker 1: like the most organized I would be all year was
- 11:41Speaker 1: that first day of school, and I liked the excitement
- 11:43Speaker 1: of going back seeing friends and stuff. Every day after
- 11:46Speaker 1: the first day of schools I got school sucks.
- 11:50Speaker 4: Yeah, see, I don't get like I've heard a lot
- 11:52Speaker 4: of people say that, Like I always besides a man.
- 11:55Speaker 3: It was horribly bullied, but I feel you loved going
- 12:00Speaker 3: back to school.
- 12:01Speaker 4: I loved school just in general, like I I had fun.
- 12:05Speaker 1: It was nice.
- 12:06Speaker 3: It's educational, you're learning. I think I thought that. But
- 12:11Speaker 3: the first day Jitters was kind of cool.
- 12:13Speaker 4: Yeah, because you're getting you clothes ready, like you were saying,
- 12:16Speaker 4: and yeah, and then you go back and you hope
- 12:18Speaker 4: your duds look good.
- 12:21Speaker 2: I I enjoyed the clothes shopping. I actually enjoyed getting
- 12:25Speaker 2: school supplies. I always thought they were cool. That first
- 12:28Speaker 2: day going back, Hey, everybody, how was your summer vacation?
- 12:31Speaker 1: That's great?
- 12:31Speaker 2: And then from day two forward it was like I
- 12:35Speaker 2: got better things I could be doing.
- 12:37Speaker 3: And I heard I heard they brought back the trapper Keeper.
- 12:40Speaker 1: Yeah, really, yes.
- 12:43Speaker 3: It is back now.
- 12:44Speaker 4: It's it's it's made a resurgence with this new generation,
- 12:47Speaker 4: like because they like all the vintage stuff, right, so
- 12:50Speaker 4: they're all using trapper Keepers now.
- 12:52Speaker 1: So trap Keeper has trapper Keeper updated itself at all? Like,
- 12:56Speaker 1: because no would not hang on. The reason I asked
- 12:59Speaker 1: is because Stanley was like the tried and true, blue
- 13:04Speaker 1: collar lunch pale thing from back in the day, from
- 13:08Speaker 1: the twentieth century twenty first century. Stanley is for steel
- 13:13Speaker 1: cup with a handle in straw touting soccer moms. Yeah,
- 13:19Speaker 1: so things are a little different. Same company, they have
- 13:22Speaker 1: the other products, but they also have expanded a bit.
- 13:24Speaker 1: So I was wondering if trapper keepers doing the same thing,
- 13:26Speaker 1: because trapper keepers mostly plastic stuff, and plastics are bad.
- 13:30Speaker 1: So did they go the stainless steel route? So trapper
- 13:32Speaker 1: keepers should make it likenk type of stuff.
- 13:35Speaker 4: You know, you know how many people get knocked out
- 13:37Speaker 4: day one with a stainless steel trapper keeper.
- 13:41Speaker 1: Back to school? Day One's just hunger games.
- 13:45Speaker 3: It's exactly right.
- 13:50Speaker 4: Oh wirst period hurts, and they still will call it
- 13:55Speaker 4: a fold take a folder back.
- 13:59Speaker 1: Steel doesn't fold.
- 14:03Speaker 3: Like like you just did.
- 14:11Speaker 1: But no, I did not know that about trapper keepers.
- 14:13Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 14:13Speaker 4: Can you imagine being the factory, the getting that call
- 14:17Speaker 4: like hey we need one hundred thousand more, like hey,
- 14:20Speaker 4: turn the lights back on, right right, we're back in business.
- 14:24Speaker 3: Bitches.
- 14:30Speaker 4: That guy had to have been or whoever it is,
- 14:32Speaker 4: that person had to have been so stoked when he's like,
- 14:36Speaker 4: what they they want these again?
- 14:37Speaker 1: Yeah, they're coming back. I mean, you're right. You think
- 14:41Speaker 1: about it, man, All they had to do is just
- 14:43Speaker 1: hang on, just long enough and I'm sure like the
- 14:46Speaker 1: head of the company is like, look, I swear to you,
- 14:48Speaker 1: we're gonna be cool again. Just keep making a few
- 14:51Speaker 1: of them here and there, just so people know that
- 14:52Speaker 1: they still kind of exist. And all it all it
- 14:55Speaker 1: takes is for one idiot influencer to be like, look
- 14:58Speaker 1: what I found. The next thing, you know, we're back, baby.
- 15:03Speaker 4: Then God, your mom wasn't the accountant is all that
- 15:07Speaker 4: she would She would have lost all that money, more
- 15:12Speaker 4: and more trapper less keepers.
- 15:17Speaker 1: Hell of the mom, terrible account you're listening to the Treehouse.

- 16:04Speaker 1: All right, gentlemen, we haven't done this in a while,
- 16:07Speaker 1: but here we go. It's time for believe it or
- 16:11Speaker 1: not inside the tree House. Inside the tree House today,
- 16:15Speaker 1: it is time for believe it or not. I'm going
- 16:19Speaker 1: to read you, guys, a statement from a news story,
- 16:21Speaker 1: and you tell me whether or not. Well, you believe
- 16:24Speaker 1: it all right? So here we go. Believe it or not?
- 16:28Speaker 1: Inside the tree house. Today, Archaeologists have unearthed mysterious enormous
- 16:37Speaker 1: shoes from an ancient Roman fort. Archaeologists have unearthed mysterious
- 16:46Speaker 1: enormous shoes from an ancient Roman fort. Do you believe
- 16:52Speaker 1: it or not? Archaeologists have unearthed mysterious enormous shoes from
- 16:56Speaker 1: an ancient Roman fort. Do you believe it or not? Rush?
- 17:00Speaker 1: I believe it, okay, Jerry? Do you believe it or not?
- 17:04Speaker 1: You know what, I'll take the other one. Okay, Jerry,
- 17:09Speaker 1: you are wrong, raj you are correct. You must believe it.
- 17:15Speaker 1: Archaeologists have in fact unearthed mysterious enormous shoes from an
- 17:22Speaker 1: ancient Roman fort.
- 17:26Speaker 3: Who hasn't shock Banged.
- 17:30Speaker 1: I had no idea he was an immoral.
- 17:34Speaker 3: Of course he is.
- 17:38Speaker 1: Researchers were shocked to discover a number of enormous leather
- 17:42Speaker 1: shoes that are significantly larger than normal during recent digs
- 17:46Speaker 1: in northern England, and they don't know why they're so big.
- 17:50Speaker 1: The oversized shoes are from Magna, a Roman era fort
- 17:54Speaker 1: along Hadrian's Wall, which is a seventy three miles stone
- 17:57Speaker 1: wall that delineated the northwest edge of the Roman Empire
- 18:00Speaker 1: and was constructed starting in one twenty two CE. The
- 18:04Speaker 1: Roman Army Museum states that the fort was in use
- 18:08Speaker 1: from eighty five until one twenty two CE. Real quick,
- 18:13Speaker 1: what does c E stand for? Common Era? Is that?
- 18:17Speaker 7: Just?
- 18:19Speaker 1: Is that? Woke initials for uh after for.
- 18:23Speaker 2: Eight basically yeah, and then BCE before common era?
- 18:28Speaker 1: Yeah? Got it? Okay, anyway, I'm just curious. Eight enormous
- 18:34Speaker 1: leather shoes, eight of them, each greater than eleven point
- 18:38Speaker 1: eight inches long, have been discovered by archaeologists since May. Currently,
- 18:43Speaker 1: about twenty five percent of all shoes discovered at the
- 18:45Speaker 1: site so far are extra large specimens. While investigating a
- 18:50Speaker 1: defensive ditch where Roman troops were also known to poop,
- 18:54Speaker 1: researchers found the first enormous shoe. According to Christina Kilgre
- 19:00Speaker 1: of Live Science, the sole of that shoe measured twelve
- 19:02Speaker 1: point six inches, or about the same length as a
- 19:06Speaker 1: men's fourteen in the United States.
- 19:09Speaker 7: Wow.
- 19:10Speaker 1: After continuing their excavation, archaeologists discovered thirty three more pairs
- 19:14Speaker 1: of shoes in various sizes, some of which seem to
- 19:17Speaker 1: have been designed for young people. They even discovered a
- 19:20Speaker 1: shoe that is twelve point eight inches long. The soles
- 19:25Speaker 1: are all composed of thinks of cowhide leather that are
- 19:28Speaker 1: secured by iron hobnails. Because to the low oxygen content
- 19:33Speaker 1: of the local soil, the shoes have remained intact for
- 19:36Speaker 1: almost two thousand years. Now, why some of these shoes
- 19:40Speaker 1: are so big is a mystery to researchers. My question
- 19:46Speaker 1: to you is is there something super mysterious going on
- 19:50Speaker 1: or did the Roman Army have a special clown regiment.
- 19:54Speaker 3: Or they just got to keep digging and fund of basketball.
- 19:59Speaker 1: And eventually court. Yeah, it was the Roman Globetrotters.
- 20:08Speaker 3: I'd watched them every day.
- 20:10Speaker 8: With metal lark alias, always battling the Jews, the little
- 20:23Speaker 8: white guys that just couldn't keep up.
- 20:28Speaker 4: That's their Washington generals. I didn't know the Romans had
- 20:36Speaker 4: a basketball team. That's pretty awesome. Good for that. Yeah,
- 20:39Speaker 4: and and and the start of the league because they
- 20:41Speaker 4: had shoes for younger kids too.
- 20:44Speaker 1: It's good to know that a development league.
- 20:46Speaker 3: Yeah, summer league.
- 20:51Speaker 1: Man, what what couldn't the Romans do.
- 21:00Speaker 3: Keep that bitch from burning down? That's what they couldn't
- 21:03Speaker 3: move well.
- 21:07Speaker 1: You can't win them all. Sometimes the little generals get you.

- 22:18Speaker 1: It feels good to get that out there. What I'm
- 22:21Speaker 1: about to tell you is not breaking news. Okay, it
- 22:24Speaker 1: is in no way breaking news, but it is really
- 22:27Speaker 1: really funny. A nineteen year old influencer is stranded in
- 22:31Speaker 1: the Chilean Antarctic because he landed a plane there without permission.
- 22:39Speaker 3: And what is this white kid's name?
- 22:43Speaker 1: I'm glad you asked Raj.
- 22:47Speaker 3: His name is Ethan gu Oh, of course it is.
- 22:50Speaker 1: He's nineteen years old and he's of Asian descent, so.
- 22:58Speaker 3: That he's adopted. Ok.
- 23:02Speaker 1: I was about to say look him up, but damn it.
- 23:04Speaker 1: You may be right. I don't know nature versus nurture right.
- 23:12Speaker 1: What was intended as a fundraising mission for cancer research
- 23:15Speaker 1: has become a nightmare for American teen influencer Ethan Guo.
- 23:21Speaker 1: He's been stuck since June in a remote location in
- 23:24Speaker 1: Chilean Territory and Antarctica. Authorities say he landed his small
- 23:31Speaker 1: plane illegally after providing false flight plan information to officials
- 23:37Speaker 1: who opened an investigation. He made headlines last year when
- 23:40Speaker 1: the then nineteen year old team began a trip in
- 23:42Speaker 1: an attempt to become the youngest person to fly solo
- 23:45Speaker 1: to all seven continents and at the time collect donations
- 23:49Speaker 1: for research into childhood cancer. So what started out as
- 23:53Speaker 1: a very admirable thing turned into a very illegal event.
- 24:00Speaker 1: Funny how that happens.
- 24:01Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 24:02Speaker 1: As part of his trip, the teen, who identifies as
- 24:05Speaker 1: Asian American, planned to go to the Antarctic, but according
- 24:08Speaker 1: to the authorities, he lied to officials providing false flight
- 24:11Speaker 1: plan data. Prosecutors said he'd been authorized to fly only
- 24:15Speaker 1: over Punta Arenas, but that he kept going south, headlining
- 24:20Speaker 1: or heading for Antarctica in his Cessna one eighty two Q,
- 24:23Speaker 1: a single engine light aircraft known for its versatility. He
- 24:26Speaker 1: was charged on June twenty ninth with handing false information
- 24:29Speaker 1: to ground control and landing without authorization, but on Monday,
- 24:32Speaker 1: a judge dropped the charges as part of an agreement
- 24:34Speaker 1: with his lawyers and Chile's prosecutors. It requires that he
- 24:40Speaker 1: give a thirty thousand dollars donation to a children's cancer
- 24:43Speaker 1: foundation within thirty days to avoid a trial. He must
- 24:47Speaker 1: also leave the country as soon as conditions allow, and
- 24:50Speaker 1: is prohibited from re entering Chilean territory for three years.
- 24:53Speaker 1: On Monday, after the ruling, he told the AP and
- 24:55Speaker 1: a text message that he was relieved by the outcome.
- 25:00Speaker 1: For the past six weeks, he's stayed at a military base.
- 25:03Speaker 1: He was not forced to stay there, only to remain
- 25:05Speaker 1: in Chilean territory, but because of the severe weather in
- 25:08Speaker 1: that part of the you know, southern hemisphere known as Antarctica,
- 25:12Speaker 1: there haven't been any available flights he could take. Turns
- 25:15Speaker 1: out its one place spirit won't go.
- 25:17Speaker 3: I wonder how much that big sea costs.
- 25:25Speaker 1: Yeah, he's also been unable to fly his Cessna so
- 25:30Speaker 1: Chilean prosecutors on Monday told reporters that the plane does
- 25:33Speaker 1: not have the capabilities to make a flight. They didn't
- 25:37Speaker 1: provide any additional details. I'm guessing they put a Chilean
- 25:40Speaker 1: boot on it, but the American teen influencer said he
- 25:45Speaker 1: is talking with his lawyers to see if there's any
- 25:47Speaker 1: way he can fly it out of there.
- 25:52Speaker 4: A Chilean boot is just a really nice cowboy boot with.
- 25:56Speaker 1: A really long pointed two. You know, it really feels
- 26:03Speaker 1: like life is starting to imitate jackass. Hi, I'm a
- 26:06Speaker 1: nineteen year old idiot. Watch me learn about consequences.
- 26:10Speaker 3: And give me a plane.
- 26:13Speaker 1: Should we start tagging influencers like endangered species so we
- 26:17Speaker 1: can track their movements and study their dumb choices?
- 26:20Speaker 2: Yes, that would be fascinating tags. M they're sure, yes, fashion,
- 26:29Speaker 2: study and scientific.
- 26:34Speaker 3: Who is this kid? Where are his parents?
- 26:38Speaker 1: No idea? The story, albeit long, mentions nothing about his parents.
- 26:45Speaker 2: Probably because they didn't.
- 26:46Speaker 1: They're like, look, leave us out of this. So I
- 26:49Speaker 1: know what they said. They said he's adopted.

- 27:43Speaker 1: twenty twenty five. Let's celebrate today with some birthdays. This
- 27:49Speaker 1: is a name I always need to be careful when
- 27:52Speaker 1: I say it. Chief Keef is thirty years old. Today,
- 27:59Speaker 1: chiefkey is thirty. I say I have to be careful
- 28:02Speaker 1: when I say his name because whenever I say it,
- 28:05Speaker 1: I want to say Chief Quef because it just feels
- 28:09Speaker 1: more natural to say it that. I don't know why
- 28:12Speaker 1: Chief Quef comes out easier than Chief Keith.
- 28:17Speaker 3: That's his sister.
- 28:22Speaker 1: Anyway. Chief Keith is thirty today. Jennifer Lawrence turns thirty five.
- 28:29Speaker 1: Many many notable roles catmus Everdeen in the Hunger Games movies.
- 28:33Speaker 1: She wanted an oscar for silver Lining's playbook. She was
- 28:36Speaker 1: mystique in the Young X Men movies.
- 28:40Speaker 7: Called it's just kind of what I call them mm
- 28:42Speaker 7: hm x Men first class right, yeah, yeah, yeah, I
- 28:48Speaker 7: mean tons and tons of film roles at this point.
- 28:51Speaker 1: Phenomenal actors too. I think she's really really good and
- 28:54Speaker 1: I don't know if it's an underrated role of hers
- 28:56Speaker 1: or not, but I'm a big fan of the movie
- 28:58Speaker 1: Passengers with her and Chris Pratt.
- 29:01Speaker 3: Okay, I never sun.
- 29:02Speaker 1: Yeah, really interesting premise for a film that's set in
- 29:06Speaker 1: the future, Jerry, have you seen it? I have not.
- 29:09Speaker 1: So the premise for the film is a spaceship is
- 29:14Speaker 1: leaving Earth and it's going to a new planet a
- 29:17Speaker 1: couple of galaxies away, and it's going to take like
- 29:20Speaker 1: ninety years for it to get there, so all the
- 29:22Speaker 1: people have to be have to basically be asleep in
- 29:26Speaker 1: cold stasis whatever, cryogenically frozen until they arrive to populate
- 29:31Speaker 1: this new planet. Okay, on the way there, the ship
- 29:35Speaker 1: runs into a little bit of trouble and Chris Pratt's
- 29:40Speaker 1: cryo tube pops open and wakes him up about eighty
- 29:44Speaker 1: three years too early, so it's just him on a
- 29:47Speaker 1: ship by himself.
- 29:50Speaker 3: Gotcha.
- 29:50Speaker 1: One thing leads to another. He sees Jennifer Lawrence's tube
- 29:53Speaker 1: and says, I'd like to get with that, and he
- 29:55Speaker 1: figures out how to pop it open, and he does
- 30:00Speaker 1: tube the tube her and eventually her.
- 30:05Speaker 4: Yeah, is anybody else hearing the Final countdown by Europe
- 30:09Speaker 4: in your head?
- 30:12Speaker 1: It's interesting too, because, like I think it was gen
- 30:14Speaker 1: Z got a hold of the premise of this film
- 30:16Speaker 1: and they're like, oh my god, this, it's this horrible
- 30:19Speaker 1: he he did that without consent. And Hollywood's making money
- 30:22Speaker 1: on this, Like people watch the film, that's what it's about.
- 30:28Speaker 1: This is one of the things I can't stand about
- 30:29Speaker 1: movie controversies. And this is a good example of social
- 30:35Speaker 1: justice woke mob warriors going crazy. And the other most
- 30:40Speaker 1: recent example of the far right fascist people going crazy
- 30:45Speaker 1: is the Superman being an immigrant thing and they don't
- 30:48Speaker 1: like that, and that Superman's two woke everyone on both
- 30:51Speaker 1: extremes Calm the f down, because those extreme takes about
- 30:57Speaker 1: these films have nothing to do or everything to do
- 31:02Speaker 1: with the film in and of itself. Like the extreme
- 31:05Speaker 1: leftists like, oh my god, Chris Pratt's character doing that
- 31:07Speaker 1: against her consent. Yeah, that's the whole point of the film. Yeah,
- 31:12Speaker 1: that's the whole point of the film. Go see the
- 31:14Speaker 1: movie and you'll shut up. You'd be like, oh, I
- 31:15Speaker 1: get it now, Okay, there you go. And then on
- 31:17Speaker 1: the flip side, you get people like Dean Kane who
- 31:20Speaker 1: was Superman, and Lois and Clark saying Superman's two woke
- 31:24Speaker 1: because the director said it's an immigrant story blah blah
- 31:26Speaker 1: blah blah blah blah blah. Go see the movie, Dean, Yeah,
- 31:29Speaker 1: because if you see the movie, it's not like that
- 31:31Speaker 1: at all.
- 31:32Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 31:33Speaker 4: And also, I would like to see Ice try to
- 31:35Speaker 4: deport somebody back to Kryptop.
- 31:38Speaker 1: Good luck with that. It's no longer there.
- 31:43Speaker 3: You're gonna need Elon Musk again one of his.
- 31:46Speaker 1: Rockets, because at the end of the day, where do
- 31:51Speaker 1: you send him? Wereville?
- 31:58Speaker 2: Where these people's outrage with Sleeping Beauty, it's.
- 32:03Speaker 1: Oh no, no, Some of those people have out have
- 32:05Speaker 1: voiced their outrage about that as well. That's why some
- 32:08Speaker 1: of the Disney films are having to update some of
- 32:10Speaker 1: their stories two more modern times, because you know, it's like, well,
- 32:14Speaker 1: why does a man have to save her maybe she
- 32:16Speaker 1: can save herself, or why is it dependent on a
- 32:19Speaker 1: kiss from a man or you know, it's like this
- 32:21Speaker 1: is you know, it's it's the patriarchy.
- 32:22Speaker 3: Blah blah blah. I mean I would I would watch
- 32:24Speaker 3: it if it was a kiss from a woman.
- 32:27Speaker 1: See that's the angle I thought of too. It's like, okay, well,
- 32:31Speaker 1: I'm open to exploring new ideas.
- 32:33Speaker 3: We can make this unnecessarily hot.
- 32:37Speaker 1: Yeah, we we could do a crossover of sleeping beauty
- 32:41Speaker 1: and caged heat. Let's all meet in the middle.
- 32:52Speaker 5: Visit us online a Treehouse on Air dot com.
- 33:09Speaker 1: You're in good Treehouse.
- 33:11Speaker 5: Visit us online at Treehouse on air dot com.
- 33:21Speaker 1: For all things Treehouse, go to Treehouse on Air dot com,
- 33:25Speaker 1: past shows, linked, contact info, and for all available on
- 33:29Speaker 1: our website Treehouse on Air dot com. Have nah yeah
- 33:57Speaker 1: you actually it really is. It really is frustrating as
- 34:01Speaker 1: a normal thinking person to have people on the extremes
- 34:08Speaker 1: of our society right and left, and some that go
- 34:11Speaker 1: so far even beyond those extremes, they somehow end up
- 34:14Speaker 1: on the like the dark side of the moon type
- 34:16Speaker 1: of thinking that you can't just enjoy a movie anymore.
- 34:20Speaker 1: It's got to have some over arcing, nasty political message
- 34:25Speaker 1: in it or it's you know, it's it's it's fascist
- 34:28Speaker 1: or it's racist. You know, it's like when it may
- 34:30Speaker 1: not be, it may not have been intended that way,
- 34:34Speaker 1: but you're right, I mean, Jerry, Like people were or
- 34:36Speaker 1: have started voicing concerns about some of these older children's
- 34:40Speaker 1: stories that turned into Disney films and saying, well, you know,
- 34:44Speaker 1: some of these tropes need to go away, because you know,
- 34:48Speaker 1: women shouldn't be dependent on a man to save them
- 34:51Speaker 1: or an unconsented kiss to get them. And then that
- 34:55Speaker 1: leaves those of us who are having fun in the
- 34:57Speaker 1: middle to say, well, you know what, Okay, well we're
- 35:00Speaker 1: open to a woman delivering that same kiss. Yeah, we
- 35:04Speaker 1: would think of ourselves as open minded. Here inside the treehouse,
- 35:07Speaker 1: let's see where he goes.
- 35:08Speaker 4: I would be there opening day for scissoring Beauty Popcorn,
- 35:20Speaker 4: ready to go, Yeah.
- 35:22Speaker 1: Drive off into the sunset and there's new in their
- 35:25Speaker 1: new super up. And at the same time, people getting mad,
- 35:38Speaker 1: like on the extreme right saying how it's like, oh, well,
- 35:41Speaker 1: the Superman's woke because he's it's an immigrant story and
- 35:45Speaker 1: blah blah blah. Well that's not new. He's always been
- 35:47Speaker 1: an illegal alien.
- 35:55Speaker 4: I mean he's he's a dreamer. His parents sent him
- 35:59Speaker 4: here like he did right, right, so.
- 36:02Speaker 1: He didn't have a choice in the matter. He's just
- 36:04Speaker 1: making the most of his circumstances.
- 36:06Speaker 4: I would love to see him in line for his papers, right,
- 36:11Speaker 4: just waiting with everybody else to get natural natural.
- 36:18Speaker 3: Raise your right hand, Superman.
- 36:22Speaker 1: Except in this newest version, he's going to have to
- 36:24Speaker 1: be detained by Ice, and Ice is wearing their masks,
- 36:27Speaker 1: to which Superman's like, really, I can see right through that.
- 36:30Speaker 1: I did this with Batman, going to do this. I
- 36:36Speaker 1: totally know what youre.
- 36:40Speaker 3: Hey, Dean Kane.
- 36:42Speaker 1: Everyone knows to make fun of my glasses and think
- 36:44Speaker 1: that they can't recognize me versus Clark Camp. But come on, dude,
- 36:48Speaker 1: everyone knows your mouth.
- 36:50Speaker 3: Detain somebody with heat vision.
- 36:52Speaker 4: Okay, let's see how that pans out.
- 36:58Speaker 1: All right, go ahead and Cuffy.
- 37:02Speaker 3: Watch this.
- 37:05Speaker 1: I'm not even a magician. What else you got?
- 37:10Speaker 3: Are you actually? Are you actually shooting me?
- 37:14Speaker 1: I will say that is one of the really cool
- 37:16Speaker 1: things about the quasi forgotten Superman movie. In the middle
- 37:21Speaker 1: of all the Superman stuff is the one that starred
- 37:24Speaker 1: Brandon Routh. I think it was Superman Returns is what
- 37:26Speaker 1: it was called. I still remember that one thing in
- 37:29Speaker 1: that movie that was really really cool is someone's firing
- 37:34Speaker 1: an automatic weapon at him and he's just slowly walking
- 37:36Speaker 1: towards them, not bleaking, and a bullet bounces off his eyeball.
- 37:41Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, that was awesome.
- 37:46Speaker 1: Yeah, it flattens against his eyeball and then just falls
- 37:49Speaker 1: to the ground. Leg That was a badass scene.
- 37:52Speaker 4: That's when I that's when I that's when I quit
- 37:55Speaker 4: ice be like, you know what I tried.
- 37:58Speaker 3: It flew off his eye.
- 37:59Speaker 1: Guys.
- 38:00Speaker 3: I'll speak guys later.
- 38:01Speaker 1: Sorry, man, I started with Eleon Gonzales. I can't handle this.
- 38:09Speaker 3: Put that kid back on a raft.
- 38:11Speaker 1: Yeah. I made six year old Cubans I got you,
- 38:14Speaker 1: not thirty year old Kryptonians. Not thirty year old Kryptonians
- 38:20Speaker 1: that can flatten bullets with their eyelids.
- 38:24Speaker 3: Who wants lunch?
- 38:28Speaker 1: I mean it was bad enough. He looked through my
- 38:30Speaker 1: mask and he whispered into my ear.
- 38:32Speaker 8: I know where your family lives, I know who you are,
- 38:36Speaker 8: and you're.
- 38:37Speaker 3: Not wearing underwear x ra vision.
- 38:44Speaker 1: Yeah. That was the other thing about the Superman Returns
- 38:46Speaker 1: movie starring Brendan Rauth that was a little weird at
- 38:49Speaker 1: the time. Was he was the one that wore the uh,
- 38:53Speaker 1: the bikini brief, like the low rise bikini brief under
- 38:57Speaker 1: rus as part of his costume. Because if you think
- 39:02Speaker 1: about it, the underwear stuff really like the trends follow
- 39:07Speaker 1: under the underwear that Superman wears on the outside, right,
- 39:11Speaker 1: because back in the day, was it the guy that
- 39:13Speaker 1: did Superman on TV's like George Reeve or whatever. It
- 39:16Speaker 1: was like the high waisted, like the swim trunks, the
- 39:20Speaker 1: swim trunk almost up to his chest type stuff. Then
- 39:24Speaker 1: you get Christopher Reeve in the movies in the seventies
- 39:27Speaker 1: and the eighties, and it's a kind of belly button
- 39:30Speaker 1: height on the red underwear outside. Yeah, not quite Speedo.
- 39:35Speaker 1: But then when you get to Brandon Routh's Superman Superman Returns,
- 39:38Speaker 1: that's when you do get sort of that Speedo look
- 39:41Speaker 1: because at the time, the low rise bikini brief was
- 39:45Speaker 1: kind of a thing. It was available in stores, and
- 39:48Speaker 1: so that was Superman's underwear at the time. But then
- 39:51Speaker 1: we had a hell of a leap between Superman Returns
- 39:54Speaker 1: with Brandon Routh and his low rise bikini brief underwear
- 39:59Speaker 1: to Henry Cavel's not wearing a damn thing.
- 40:10Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 40:10Speaker 1: So, like for this brand new movie, people were wondering, well,
- 40:13Speaker 1: is he gonna have the red under rus on or not.
- 40:15Speaker 1: Is it gonna be like Henry Cavils with nothing, or
- 40:18Speaker 1: is it gonna be like Christopher Reeves. It turned out
- 40:21Speaker 1: to be more like Christopher Reeves. But honestly, I thought
- 40:23Speaker 1: they could have easily have gone the thong route because
- 40:26Speaker 1: that's what's popular now.
- 40:28Speaker 3: Male thongs.
- 40:30Speaker 4: Well, just like, oh you like them.
- 40:35Speaker 2: We we know this already. This is a well established fact.
- 40:38Speaker 2: There are pictures of me on the internet.
- 40:41Speaker 3: Okay, well that's news to me.
- 40:43Speaker 4: Jerry, you're gonna You're not gonna You're not gonna be
- 40:49Speaker 4: my favorite superman, but you'll be my favorite wonder woman.
