- 0:48SPEAKER_01: Hello, beautiful humans of the Beyond Limits podcast.
- 0:53SPEAKER_01: I have a little bit different of an episode for you right now.
- 0:58SPEAKER_01: And I am trusting the nudge.
- 1:00SPEAKER_01: I am trusting the niggle.
- 1:03SPEAKER_01: And we are going to be diving into the things that I am loving right now to look better, feel better, to optimize my life.
- 1:12SPEAKER_01: And the reason I'm doing this episode is because I love giving you shifts for your nervous system, how to do this, how to create millions of dollars and all of that.
- 1:26SPEAKER_01: But sometimes we just need to know what's a good face mask.
- 1:32SPEAKER_01: Sometimes we just want to know what someone's eating for lunch every day that makes them feel great and is easy and simple while they're running their business.
- 1:41SPEAKER_01: Like sometimes I feel like it doesn't always have to be, I don't want to say complex, but I want to start bringing things to the podcast that aren't simply like big conversations where they're like, okay, they rewire you, they open you up.
- 1:57SPEAKER_01: We will have those too.
- 1:58SPEAKER_01: But sometimes it's like I tweet this one little thing in my fitness and the weight for me at the gym, and physique has been the bot has been botting.
- 2:11SPEAKER_01: So that is what I am sharing with you in this episode.
- 2:13SPEAKER_01: They are all things, like I said, that I'm loving that are allowing me to look better, feel better, and to optimize my life.
- 2:21SPEAKER_01: If you are new to the podcast, this will not be an episode on the very foundational things.
- 2:28SPEAKER_01: So just in case you are new, I am gluten-free.
- 2:32SPEAKER_01: I don't eat processed foods.
- 2:33SPEAKER_01: I don't eat junk foods.
- 2:35SPEAKER_01: I don't go to fast food restaurants.
- 2:37SPEAKER_01: I eat grass-bed meats, pasteurated eggs, I sleep eight to nine hours a night.
- 2:44SPEAKER_01: A lot of those, like, I don't want to say like traditionals, but the the mainstream, the the basics are there.
- 2:51SPEAKER_01: So this will not be an episode of the basics.
- 2:54SPEAKER_01: Do all of those things help you look better, feel better, optimize your life?
- 2:58SPEAKER_01: 1000%.
- 3:00SPEAKER_01: However, I feel like everyone listening, you either know me or you've heard that from someone else that everyone knows by now.
- 3:07SPEAKER_01: Like, we do those things.
- 3:10SPEAKER_01: These things are really about raising the quality of your experience of life.
- 3:19SPEAKER_01: Which is a vibe.
- 3:20SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 3:21SPEAKER_01: So number one, and this is there, I have a couple things that have very much shifted for me in my training.
- 3:30SPEAKER_01: And I feel like this is such a fun episode because I just made my after-lunch espresso.
- 3:34SPEAKER_01: And so we're gonna have like a little coffee chat.
- 3:38SPEAKER_01: The number one thing, or the first thing, when it comes to training at the gym, I am a big proponent of lifting, lifting heavy, lifting to progressive overload.
- 3:50SPEAKER_01: It has radically changed my body.
- 3:52SPEAKER_01: If you have not listened to the episode with my trainer of it's called How to Get in the Best Shape of Your Life, this is it.
- 3:58SPEAKER_01: Okay, the so much love.
- 4:01SPEAKER_01: Pilates is not going to get you in the best shape of your life.
- 4:04SPEAKER_01: Pilates is a good addition onto this, but you need to be training.
- 4:08SPEAKER_01: But you only need to train three days a week.
- 4:10SPEAKER_01: That's a funny thing.
- 4:11SPEAKER_01: Three days a week, heavy, progressive overload.
- 4:14SPEAKER_01: It will give you the physique that the people who have the Pilates physique, they're actually lifting heavy.
- 4:20SPEAKER_01: It's because they have muscle.
- 4:21SPEAKER_01: All right.
- 4:21SPEAKER_01: Pilates alone does not do that.
- 4:24SPEAKER_01: We need to be lifting heavy.
- 4:26SPEAKER_01: Go listen to that episode.
- 4:27SPEAKER_01: You'll learn all about progressive overload, how to train three days a week and get exponentially more results.
- 4:33SPEAKER_01: Like I said, it is transforming my physique.
- 4:35SPEAKER_01: And I remember I called bullshit on myself four years ago now.
- 4:40SPEAKER_01: And I remember because my trainer is someone actually I went to med school with.
- 4:44SPEAKER_01: And I've always admired, she has the best legs.
- 4:46SPEAKER_01: Like this, oh her legs, I call them Carrie Underwood legs.
- 4:50SPEAKER_01: Because they're like, if everyone's seen Carrie Underwood legs, she's got amazing, like muscular toned legs.
- 4:55SPEAKER_01: They're not like stick thin, they're just like toned, muscular, amazing looking legs.
- 5:00SPEAKER_01: I call her Carrie Underwood legs.
- 5:01SPEAKER_01: And I've always admired her legs.
- 5:02SPEAKER_01: Even in med school, I'd be like, oh my gosh, she's got like the most beautiful legs.
- 5:06SPEAKER_01: Like, I want legs like that.
- 5:07SPEAKER_01: And I kept doing Pilates and spin.
- 5:09SPEAKER_01: And I don't mean like matte Pilates.
- 5:11SPEAKER_01: I mean Legris, mega reformer, like the the hard Pilates, if you will.
- 5:18SPEAKER_01: So I hired her four years ago, radically changed my whole physique.
- 5:24SPEAKER_01: I my mind is just blown.
- 5:26SPEAKER_01: I never thought I could have legs like this.
- 5:29SPEAKER_01: Just so close in the episode.
- 5:32SPEAKER_01: Um and if you want her information, it's in that episode, or you can uh DM me and just ask me for it, and I will because I don't forget offhand the name of her Instagram.
- 5:44SPEAKER_01: But we'll digress.
- 5:46SPEAKER_01: So one of the things that she's had me do that I have been doing the last little while that has made an exponentially increase in the results I was getting at the gym is taking my shoes off for leg exercises.
- 6:04SPEAKER_01: So one of the beautiful things about my trainers, I will send her videos because she's not a local trainer to me.
- 6:11SPEAKER_01: Like she doesn't come to the gym with me.
- 6:13SPEAKER_01: She just gives me my workout plan.
- 6:14SPEAKER_01: I sometimes film workouts if they're new or we feel like we want to maximize or make things more efficient.
- 6:21SPEAKER_01: And she's really good at calling out where I can be improving so I can get maximum results.
- 6:26SPEAKER_01: Because if I'm going to the gym, I want to maximize my results.
- 6:30SPEAKER_01: I want efficiency.
- 6:31SPEAKER_01: So she watched this video of me doing Bulgarian squit split squats, which I absolutely love.
- 6:36SPEAKER_01: They are gnarly, they are insane.
- 6:39SPEAKER_01: They, I mean, you'll know you're at progressive overload because if you're not making faces or swearing at the gym, it's not heavy enough.
- 6:48SPEAKER_01: And so she told me to take my shoes off, which I known before.
- 6:51SPEAKER_01: And she's like, no, really.
- 6:52SPEAKER_01: She's like, take your shoes off, double your weight, use wrist straps.
- 6:56SPEAKER_01: And so I did that.
- 6:58SPEAKER_01: And apart from also like the doubling the weight in the wrist strap, this is across the board, whether it's for my split squats, for my leg presses, for my all the other exercises I do, I take my shoes off.
- 7:10SPEAKER_01: It allows me to plant into my big toe.
- 7:13SPEAKER_01: And she was explaining to me, she said, what you don't realize is like when you're wearing the cute running shoes, because I wear my, you know, the ASICs, the new balances, they're great for running.
- 7:22SPEAKER_01: They're not great for lifting.
- 7:23SPEAKER_01: And so I wasn't actually getting as much, even though it was definitely burning.
- 7:27SPEAKER_01: It's not like it wasn't burning.
- 7:29SPEAKER_01: It was burning.
- 7:30SPEAKER_01: I was still like, you know, I go to progressive overload.
- 7:34SPEAKER_01: I wasn't maximizing the activation of the muscle.
- 7:38SPEAKER_01: Now you can also, from what I understand, wear flat shoes, I think bands or converse or something like that.
- 7:44SPEAKER_01: I really prefer how wearing my cute shoes, taking them off being just footless.
- 7:49SPEAKER_01: And I press down my big toe.
- 7:51SPEAKER_01: Let me tell you, my legs mass a difference in just a few weeks.
- 7:56SPEAKER_01: Insane.
- 7:57SPEAKER_01: So I wanted to share that.
- 7:59SPEAKER_01: For anyone who's doing leg exercises, take your shoes off.
- 8:05SPEAKER_01: It will make such a difference.
- 8:07SPEAKER_01: Okay, the next thing we're gonna continue on with what I do during training because it also helps me look better, feel better, optimize my life.
- 8:17SPEAKER_01: Is coconut water as intermittent carbs during training to build muscle.
- 8:24SPEAKER_01: Now, again, one of the things, oh, Akasha is at the back door.
- 8:30SPEAKER_01: She's been sitting outside.
- 8:31SPEAKER_01: I feel like it's Akasha's world, I'm just living in it.
- 8:34SPEAKER_01: So I've been using coconut water as intermittent carbs at the gin.
- 8:38SPEAKER_01: Now, for those of you who have been my world a long time, you know that I never used to have carbs during my workout.
- 8:45SPEAKER_01: But that is because oh, you want some food, boo-boo?
- 8:48SPEAKER_01: That is because in the past, I wasn't necessarily focused on building muscle.
- 8:55SPEAKER_01: And I do believe to have you need intra carbs when you're lifting heavy.
- 9:00SPEAKER_01: Would I have carbs for Pilates?
- 9:03SPEAKER_01: No.
- 9:04SPEAKER_01: But when you're like leg pressing almost 400 pounds, the the coconut water intra carbs really help me get the most out of my workouts.
- 9:13SPEAKER_01: I able to do more reps or go deeper.
- 9:17SPEAKER_01: And I'm strategically placing them in that window to maximize it.
- 9:24SPEAKER_01: So it's not carbs before, not carbs after.
- 9:26SPEAKER_01: I mean, though I do eat carbs before and after.
- 9:29SPEAKER_01: It is specifically coconut water during training.
- 9:33SPEAKER_01: And I'm also very specific.
- 9:34SPEAKER_01: If you're wanting to know, I want to give you guys details.
- 9:37SPEAKER_01: It's like 398 millimeters to like 450.
- 9:42SPEAKER_01: That sounds, again, very specific.
- 9:44SPEAKER_01: One thing you should know about me is I am usually specific with things, especially with efficiency.
- 9:51SPEAKER_01: If I'm training, I want to be training properly.
- 9:53SPEAKER_01: I want a proper form, I want proper nutrition, I want all of that.
- 9:57SPEAKER_01: And so coconut water has been really integral for me.
- 10:01SPEAKER_01: I definitely like because I get more reps, I can lift heavier, and the oomph I have at the gym is amazing.
- 10:14SPEAKER_01: The next thing that I want to talk about, which I think it's funny, I mentioned it on that podcast that I did with my trainer Lisa.
- 10:23SPEAKER_01: But I'm gonna go into it now because it is just it is so good, but I don't think I fully went into it.
- 10:30SPEAKER_01: We're just gonna go into it again because I feel like I'm still loving this.
- 10:33SPEAKER_01: I have the same thing for lunch every single day.
- 10:36SPEAKER_01: Now, in terms of things I, you know, I love to look feel better, I do believe at a certain level, and especially for certain seasons, right?
- 10:47SPEAKER_01: There are there are seasons, I mean, I also am big how I haven't got tired of this meal, I don't know, but I haven't.
- 10:53SPEAKER_01: And I'll tell you what it is in a second, but what I'm saying is important.
- 10:56SPEAKER_01: There is a certain element of routine and simplicity frees up capacity and allows you to focus on things that you want to be putting your energy into, right?
- 11:13SPEAKER_01: It's the same reason Steve Jobs always wore, like, you know, black turtleneck and jeans, and I think it's Mark Zuckerberg also t-shirt and jeans.
- 11:20SPEAKER_01: It's very simple.
- 11:21SPEAKER_01: If you look at also what I wear, I am not thinking about like overthinking outfits because for me, yes, I want to look good, but I have staple pieces, neutrals that kind of go together, and that's what it is.
- 11:33SPEAKER_01: The same way I think about this lunch.
- 11:36SPEAKER_01: This lunch is quick, easy.
- 11:39SPEAKER_01: It gives me good protein with grass-fed beef.
- 11:43SPEAKER_01: It gives me uh clean carbs.
- 11:46SPEAKER_01: And by clean carbs, I mean uh obviously not refined, like not processed, but also very easy digestible.
- 11:54SPEAKER_01: So the meal itself is beef, bananas, and hot honey.
- 11:57SPEAKER_01: That's all it is.
- 11:59SPEAKER_01: And then the ratio of beef to bananas just kind of changes depending if it's a training day or non-training day.
- 12:05SPEAKER_01: But what this does is it provides, and the hot honey just I mean, adds a little more carbs, sure, but it also just adds a little bit of flavor.
- 12:13SPEAKER_01: And I have very specific hot honey.
- 12:14SPEAKER_01: I do not like every hot honey.
- 12:15SPEAKER_01: I like buzz hot honey, which is very different.
- 12:18SPEAKER_01: I think most hot honeys are honey and like chili peppers.
- 12:24SPEAKER_01: This one is a little different, I think it's actually from Canada, but it's called Buzz Hot Honey, and it's far superior.
- 12:34SPEAKER_01: I'm just gonna be honest, it is.
- 12:36SPEAKER_01: And the reason is it has the honey, it has the chili peppers, but it also has vinegar, spices, lime leaf, and lemongrass, which adds a it's it's not plain hot honey, but it's delicious.
- 12:50SPEAKER_01: And I mean, you could put that on anything.
- 12:52SPEAKER_01: But like I said, the beef, the bananas, hot honey, because bananas are very easily digestible.
- 12:57SPEAKER_01: Do I have digestive issues?
- 12:59SPEAKER_01: No, but I also like carbs that are not going to make me feel sluggish, carbs that are going to be good for digestion, right?
- 13:08SPEAKER_01: They're simple.
- 13:09SPEAKER_01: And also for anyone listening, they're very cost effective.
- 13:12SPEAKER_01: If that's like a concern for you, bananas are probably one of the most cost-effective things, you know, bananas, sweet potato, and rice in terms of clean carbs.
- 13:24SPEAKER_01: And so I tend to meal prep beef, or like I'll cook batches of beef, and then I heat up my beef, I add in a banana, banana warms up a little bit, just with hot honey, five minutes, we're done.
- 13:36SPEAKER_01: And you have the perfect macro composition.
- 13:39SPEAKER_01: Also because it's warm.
- 13:41SPEAKER_01: If you don't know Chinese medicine, we want warm foods.
- 13:44SPEAKER_01: You might argue in the summer you can do more cool foods.
- 13:47SPEAKER_01: You can do more cooler foods like salads in the summer.
- 13:52SPEAKER_01: I really feel the best when I have warm foods, and so do most people I know.
- 13:58SPEAKER_01: Right?
- 13:58SPEAKER_01: The the salads, the smoothies, it's too usually way too much cold for most people.
- 14:06SPEAKER_01: Obviously, some, it's fine, but for a lot of people, it's going to be actually too much cold.
- 14:11SPEAKER_01: It's gonna create dampness in the body.
- 14:12SPEAKER_01: It's gonna create phlegm.
- 14:14SPEAKER_01: And I don't mean phlegm as in phlegm in your throat or phlegm in your nose.
- 14:16SPEAKER_01: I mean phlegm in the joints, phlegm in the no.
- 14:20SPEAKER_01: So we want to try to avoid cold foods, even more so in the winter, but again, too much of it in the summer can also cause fatigue, digestive issues, spleen chi issues.
- 14:31SPEAKER_01: We're just so this is the lunch I've been having every day for well over a year.
- 14:38SPEAKER_01: Uh including weekends.
- 14:41SPEAKER_01: Essentially, if I am home, this is what I eat for lunch.
- 14:47SPEAKER_01: Okay, next thing.
- 14:53SPEAKER_01: Which one do I want to do next?
- 14:55SPEAKER_01: Let's talk about organic cotton.
- 15:00SPEAKER_01: Now, I have been increasingly, I've always, I'm very non-toxic, all right?
- 15:05SPEAKER_01: I like non-toxic beauty, clean beauty, obviously my food, my nutrition.
- 15:09SPEAKER_01: So I have been increasingly aware over the past, I would say, year about the materials that I wear.
- 15:17SPEAKER_01: And so I have absolutely fallen in love with very, like, I'm very simple.
- 15:22SPEAKER_01: But I've fallen in love with 100% organic cotton t-shirts.
- 15:27SPEAKER_01: I truly believe a good organic cotton t-shirt is really like you could wear that every day.
- 15:33SPEAKER_01: And I'm not saying, you know, I do this because I want to be like a Steve Jobs or like a Mark Zuckerberg.
- 15:38SPEAKER_01: I actually fundamentally understand why now they do it.
- 15:40SPEAKER_01: It's so funny.
- 15:42SPEAKER_01: But a good cotton t-shirt and organic if possible, it's just so good.
- 15:49SPEAKER_01: And what I've also realized is that a lot of the time they aren't necessarily like you can find super, like you can find ones that are a hundred dollars and you can find ones that are not.
- 16:05SPEAKER_01: But what matters most is actually the material.
- 16:12SPEAKER_01: So I have had white t-shirts that are a lot more expensive, that don't either last or they're actually made with a combination of materials that now I'm just really trying to prioritize 100% cotton.
- 16:34SPEAKER_01: And it's funny.
- 16:36SPEAKER_01: I feel like my mom, because when I was younger, my mom would say things, well, I don't want to like buy that, but you like that's polyester, that's not 100% cotton.
- 16:45SPEAKER_01: She would look at the labels to find out, you know, if it was made with polyester and everything.
- 16:49SPEAKER_01: And she was obviously like trying to protect me and all that, but it's so funny.
- 16:52SPEAKER_01: Like, I was like, Mom, I don't care if that's polyester, it's the gap.
- 16:57SPEAKER_01: And now I'm like, oh, you reach a point in adulthood where you're like, I care about materials.
- 17:02SPEAKER_01: I don't know if she fully knew about the endoconstructors and all that, but she does obviously is aware that 100% cotton is better.
- 17:10SPEAKER_01: So I actually really love so the 100% organic cotton, they're gonna laugh.
- 17:15SPEAKER_01: Don't sleep on this, okay.
- 17:18SPEAKER_01: HM.
- 17:21SPEAKER_01: They have 100% organic cotton.
- 17:26SPEAKER_01: All right, I don't know how I found this.
- 17:28SPEAKER_01: I think just God placed it on my because it wasn't someone didn't refer it.
- 17:33SPEAKER_01: I think I was, I don't know how I found it.
- 17:36SPEAKER_01: Stumbled upon it one day.
- 17:38SPEAKER_01: And oftentimes, right, the 100% organic is reserved for babies, right?
- 17:49SPEAKER_01: Or like maybe kids stuff, like the quality is better.
- 17:52SPEAKER_01: I don't know why they assume kids need it, but adults don't, you know.
- 17:57SPEAKER_01: But HM.
- 17:58SPEAKER_01: So HM has 100% organic cotton t-shirts.
- 18:06SPEAKER_01: These t-shirts are phenomenal.
- 18:10SPEAKER_01: Now I believe they are they're not advertised as a hundred percent cotton.
- 18:17SPEAKER_01: For what I remember.
- 18:18SPEAKER_01: I feel like I was looking because I was just looking for like lounge t-shirts to wear around the house, and I found out they were organic cotton.
- 18:28SPEAKER_01: So and they're not expensive.
- 18:30SPEAKER_01: I think it was uh maybe I got mine on sale for like$12.
- 18:36SPEAKER_01: Probably, yeah, definitely under$15.
- 18:38SPEAKER_01: So maybe like$12, maybe$12, maybe$15, something like that.
- 18:42SPEAKER_01: But they have them and they're amazing.
- 18:44SPEAKER_01: They are organic, and then I do also like their these ones aren't organic, but they are 100% cotton, are the ones from Uniqlo, and they are amazing for women, especially the these are ones that I would more likely wear out, if you will, because they're a little bit maybe thicker.
- 19:04SPEAKER_01: You can still wear the HM ones out, but it's just not you know that thick cotton?
- 19:09SPEAKER_01: It's like if you want a super thick one, Uniclo.
- 19:12SPEAKER_01: And again,$20,$15, something like that.
- 19:20SPEAKER_01: This sounds simple, but having good cotton t-shirts is like a staple in your wardrobe.
- 19:30SPEAKER_01: So I wanted to share that with you.
- 19:33SPEAKER_01: Oh, I'm just looking up.
- 19:34SPEAKER_01: So the cotton is uh literally called cotton t-shirt at HM.
- 19:38SPEAKER_01: Maybe there, and there's so many different colors.
- 19:41SPEAKER_01: And it says, yeah, 100% organic cotton.
- 19:46SPEAKER_01: So funny.
- 19:48SPEAKER_01: That's what I mean.
- 19:50SPEAKER_01: Better than some of the 40, 50 plus dollar t-shirts I bought.
- 19:56SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 19:56SPEAKER_01: The next thing.
- 20:03SPEAKER_01: The next thing I want to dive into is a griddle.
- 20:08SPEAKER_01: No.
- 20:10SPEAKER_01: I'll explain to you why.
- 20:13SPEAKER_01: It was Amazon Prime Day, and I came across this griddle and nobody was really talking about it.
- 20:19SPEAKER_01: I think it was recommended to me or something like that.
- 20:23SPEAKER_01: But I have been using the griddle pan from our place.
- 20:28SPEAKER_01: Now, I have this small one.
- 20:30SPEAKER_01: I'm gonna probably I'm gonna buy the big one probably.
- 20:32SPEAKER_01: Now, why do I like this nonstick pan?
- 20:36SPEAKER_01: I really like obviously we do clean everywhere else.
- 20:40SPEAKER_01: We're gonna do non-toxic coating, you know, and all of that.
- 20:44SPEAKER_01: I have ones from other brands.
- 20:46SPEAKER_01: I don't know how this one's going to wear.
- 20:48SPEAKER_01: So we've had it since Prime Day, so that's uh maybe six weeks.
- 20:54SPEAKER_01: So far, it's holding up really well.
- 20:57SPEAKER_01: But again, we will see.
- 20:58SPEAKER_01: But it is so good at being nonstick.
- 21:03SPEAKER_01: And the reason I like it as opposed to a like a traditional pan is I like it as a griddle pan.
- 21:09SPEAKER_01: Now, I what I like is you can use it on the stovetop.
- 21:13SPEAKER_01: I also have a middle burner, so I have a long burner in the middle of my stove.
- 21:17SPEAKER_01: So sometimes, depending on what I'm cooking, I will use just a regular burner with the griddle pan, or I will use it with the long, because it's a gas stove, it's like a longer one, it'll cover the whole griddle pan.
- 21:28SPEAKER_01: But either way, you can use it on a normal stove and it still gets very warm.
- 21:32SPEAKER_01: But I like that you can use it in the stove and I like that you can use it in the oven.
- 21:36SPEAKER_01: Now, what I like about the griddle pan is it fits a lot of eggs, it fits, you know, multiple pancakes.
- 21:41SPEAKER_01: And because of the shape, I actually find the shape is better than a round pan.
- 21:47SPEAKER_01: Because you can either cook more, you can translate it from yes, stove to here, but it's it's wider and shallower, right?
- 21:57SPEAKER_01: So the surface area I feel is really efficient.
- 22:00SPEAKER_01: For cooking.
- 22:00SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 22:01SPEAKER_01: And sometimes in round pans, and even the ones I have, like the larger ones from Caraway Home and everything like that, the surface area is actually smaller because of the lip and how the curve needs to happen when it's round.
- 22:16SPEAKER_01: So this is a square griddle plan.
- 22:18SPEAKER_01: I have the mini one, but like I said, I will probably purchase the big one for bigger amounts of food.
- 22:26SPEAKER_01: But it is so good.
- 22:28SPEAKER_01: I highly recommend, like even the middle or the mini one that I have, it is by far the best non-toxic thing I have but cookware I have ever used.
- 22:40SPEAKER_01: Okay, the next thing that I'm gonna dive into is magnesium foot spray.
- 22:45SPEAKER_01: Now, I have loved magnesium foot spray in the past.
- 22:51SPEAKER_01: I didn't stop using it.
- 22:52SPEAKER_01: I ran out of it.
- 22:53SPEAKER_01: This is why I stopped using it.
- 22:55SPEAKER_01: And it kind of became one of those things that I just never replenished.
- 23:00SPEAKER_01: I don't know.
- 23:00SPEAKER_01: Something told me the last couple weeks or last few weeks, start using magnesium foot spray, and I've re-fallen in love with it.
- 23:08SPEAKER_01: So you spray it, I mean, on your feet, on your legs.
- 23:10SPEAKER_01: I do it before bed.
- 23:12SPEAKER_01: I do also take magnesium, but honestly, I feel like this actually helps and makes a difference in my sleep.
- 23:21SPEAKER_01: It makes it's also an experience because it's spray like it's nice.
- 23:25SPEAKER_01: I mean, it doesn't really smell like anything.
- 23:26SPEAKER_01: Oh, yeah, it smells a little bit like lavender.
- 23:27SPEAKER_01: I love the symbiotica one, but I know that there are other brands as well.
- 23:31SPEAKER_01: Just make sure you because I have seen some of them that have uh vegetable oils in them or weird ingredients, like the aloe one has weird ingredients in it.
- 23:42SPEAKER_01: So just make sure it's like pure and good ingredients.
- 23:45SPEAKER_01: But I always say, like, I love the symbiotica one, it comes in a glass bottle, beautiful, a little smell of lavender.
- 23:51SPEAKER_01: Anyways, I notice a big difference in my feet when I spray it, in my sleep, and how my muscles feel the next day.
- 24:00SPEAKER_01: I would say how deep I probably also sleep.
- 24:04SPEAKER_01: It's just all around I look better and I feel better.
- 24:09SPEAKER_01: The next thing, now, this is not something that's right now, but I don't think I've mentioned it.
- 24:15SPEAKER_01: And I have really been what's the word?
- 24:20SPEAKER_01: Consistent with cowboy colostrum.
- 24:25SPEAKER_01: I don't like any kind of colostrum, it is very important.
- 24:29SPEAKER_01: I know there's so many different colostrums out there.
- 24:32SPEAKER_01: I have loved cowboy colostrum for over a year.
- 24:35SPEAKER_01: I think there was a few months where I kind of got off like taking it, but then I've been retaking it now again, adding it back in in the last couple months or so.
- 24:47SPEAKER_01: Oh, and I remember I'm like, oh, I feel so much better.
- 24:50SPEAKER_01: And basically my subscription renewed, and all of a sudden I had all this cowboy colostrum because it auto-charges, you know.
- 24:55SPEAKER_01: I was like, oh, I better start drinking this.
- 24:57SPEAKER_01: And I was like, oh no, this actually is like really good.
- 25:00SPEAKER_01: And I've been making a point of having at least one scoop a day, if not two.
- 25:07SPEAKER_01: Now, the reason that I say cowboy colostrum, I'm very specific because a lot of the other colostrums either they don't have the best sourcing.
- 25:24SPEAKER_01: So they're not sourced from grass-fed cows.
- 25:28SPEAKER_01: A lot of other brands are not exclusively first day milking.
- 25:33SPEAKER_01: So I actually did a lot of research on colostrum about a year and a half ago.
- 25:36SPEAKER_01: And so you want your colostrum to have from the baby calves for like once the baby calf finishes feeding, they collect like the first milk in colostrum from the grass-fed cows.
- 25:47SPEAKER_01: So it has the highest level of bioactive potency in it.
- 25:52SPEAKER_01: It's also unstripped and it's full of fat and it's third-party tested with no artificial or natural flavors or fillers.
- 26:00SPEAKER_01: A lot of the other common ones that start with an A are not clean.
- 26:07SPEAKER_01: This they are so clean.
- 26:09SPEAKER_01: There's the qualities there.
- 26:10SPEAKER_01: First of all, it tastes amazing.
- 26:12SPEAKER_01: As someone who, and by the way, I am someone who's lactose, so I generally can't eat milk.
- 26:16SPEAKER_01: I don't have issues with colostrum.
- 26:19SPEAKER_01: My skin is glowing more than ever.
- 26:22SPEAKER_01: My hair is growing, like my digestion, my digestion wasn't off.
- 26:26SPEAKER_01: But I just I can notice a difference when I'm taking colostrum.
- 26:31SPEAKER_01: But specifically, cowboy colostrum, not sponsored.
- 26:36SPEAKER_01: It's really just good.
- 26:37SPEAKER_01: They have a new cookies and cream flavor, which I might try because that sounds absolutely delicious, even though I have so much.
- 26:44SPEAKER_01: I'm like, oh, this new flavor.
- 26:46SPEAKER_01: But it's so good, and I really recommend.
- 26:49SPEAKER_01: Now we're speaking about glowing.
- 26:50SPEAKER_01: So the next thing in terms of glow that has really that is so good, and I think I don't think enough people are talking about this one.
- 27:00SPEAKER_01: So everyone knows about the BioDance like overnight collagen mask.
- 27:05SPEAKER_01: You put it on, it's the pink, right?
- 27:07SPEAKER_01: It's like this rosy pink.
- 27:10SPEAKER_01: Do not sleep on the yellow.
- 27:13SPEAKER_01: The yellow is amazing.
- 27:17SPEAKER_01: Now I do leave it on overnight, like I sleep with it on.
- 27:19SPEAKER_01: You have I to get full benefits, sleep with it on.
- 27:23SPEAKER_01: Just but the glow, my skin, like Kurt noticed.
- 27:29SPEAKER_01: He's like, Whoa, that mask makes a difference.
- 27:32SPEAKER_01: And for to me, when men make a comment, when men notice, I didn't ask, what do you think?
- 27:37SPEAKER_01: Do you notice a difference?
- 27:38SPEAKER_01: He said something to me.
- 27:42SPEAKER_01: So the yellow one, the biodance yellow.
- 27:45SPEAKER_01: I know everyone loves the pink.
- 27:47SPEAKER_01: Do not sleep on the yellow.
- 27:48SPEAKER_01: The yellow is really good for brightening, it's good for radiance, it's good for glowing, and it is so good.
- 27:54SPEAKER_01: I do it once a week.
- 27:56SPEAKER_01: But like I said, sleep with it on.
- 27:59SPEAKER_01: Like actually go to bed, sleep with it on.
- 28:02SPEAKER_01: Do allow it to kind of set.
- 28:04SPEAKER_01: So I do allow it to like set for me, like maybe like 45 minutes before I go to bed because I am someone who does not sleep on their back.
- 28:11SPEAKER_01: If you so are someone who sleeps on their back, you could probably get away with putting it on, going right to bed.
- 28:15SPEAKER_01: But I am a side slash stomach speaker sleeper, so I need it more adhered to my face before I go and actually go to bed.
- 28:26SPEAKER_01: So that is like a skincare thing that has made a world of difference, actually.
- 28:35SPEAKER_01: The next thing is actually a book recommendation.
- 28:40SPEAKER_01: And I typically people ask me for book recommendations all the time.
- 28:45SPEAKER_01: And it's so hard for me to get to give book recommendations because I find a lot of them basic or boring, or I know you wouldn't enjoy them.
- 28:56SPEAKER_01: Like I love reading about quantum physics, but I know that's not for most people.
- 29:00SPEAKER_01: So this book, what I love about this book is it, well, I'll explain in a second.
- 29:07SPEAKER_01: It the reason I think it's so powerful is because it's a memoir.
- 29:12SPEAKER_01: And this is actually inspiring me to read more memoirs or more versions of books like this.
- 29:19SPEAKER_01: So I the reason I think it's so powerful is because it's a memoir, so it's a story of part of her life that then has wisdom baked into it.
- 29:30SPEAKER_01: Versus, I find a lot of personal development books can be either flat, boring, obvious, they don't catch me.
- 29:39SPEAKER_01: So this book I'm speaking about is actually Jacqueline Shaw's book.
- 29:43SPEAKER_01: So I started reading this on the flight to Miami.
- 29:48SPEAKER_01: She was on the podcast.
- 29:49SPEAKER_01: If you have not listened to that episode, it's absolutely amazing.
- 29:52SPEAKER_01: It's all about how God signs your seven-figure paychecks and becoming wildly wealthy.
- 29:56SPEAKER_01: And she gifted me her book when we were recording this podcast.
- 30:01SPEAKER_01: And I started reading it on my flight down to Miami, and I could not put it down.
- 30:09SPEAKER_01: I have not been unable to put a book down, I don't know, years.
- 30:18SPEAKER_01: I don't, I don't know the last time.
- 30:19SPEAKER_01: More than five years.
- 30:20SPEAKER_01: Like, I don't know the last time I've read a book and haven't been, I I finished it.
- 30:25SPEAKER_01: I started and finished it in one sitting because it was so good.
- 30:31SPEAKER_01: It moved me.
- 30:33SPEAKER_01: I cried.
- 30:35SPEAKER_01: And like I said, what I think is so powerful about this book, and it's not because I relate to her, like the story she tells is not something that has happened to me, but it is the wisdom she extracted from her experience.
- 30:48SPEAKER_01: I don't want to spoil it.
- 30:50SPEAKER_01: The wisdom she extracted from the experience that because she told the story, it just landed so like it is beautiful.
- 30:59SPEAKER_01: It feels like you're right there with her.
- 31:00SPEAKER_01: Like I said, I cried like it moved me.
- 31:02SPEAKER_01: It was so, so good.
- 31:05SPEAKER_01: So I mean, go back, listen to her episode, but also read her book.
- 31:08SPEAKER_01: It is called Spiritual SmackDown.
- 31:11SPEAKER_01: It is so good.
- 31:13SPEAKER_01: Like I said, I don't know the last time I haven't been able to put a book down, and it is amazing.
- 31:19SPEAKER_01: And it's inspired me to read maybe more memoirs.
- 31:22SPEAKER_01: I'm gonna be looking into books that are more like memoirs or people's stories and how the wisdom has been extracted from those stories.
- 31:31SPEAKER_01: Okay, the next thing is I mean, I want to include because I was including uh a book.
- 31:37SPEAKER_01: I was like, should I include a TV show?
- 31:39SPEAKER_01: I'm gonna include a TV show.
- 31:41SPEAKER_01: Because I've I like to laugh.
- 31:43SPEAKER_01: Okay, so I'm gonna include a shit TV show.
- 31:48SPEAKER_01: Because sometimes you just want a TV show that's going to make you laugh and that does make you feel better.
- 31:55SPEAKER_01: Because it's just light and it's funny.
- 31:57SPEAKER_01: So Kurt and I have been watching, or we're watching, we finished it now, Funny AF by Kevin Hart, which is all about Kevin Hart going to find the next comedian.
- 32:06SPEAKER_01: I laughed so hard during some of these, because they go around and they audition different comedians, and then one of them gets a Netflix special at the end.
- 32:15SPEAKER_01: I laughed so hard.
- 32:16SPEAKER_01: Oh my god, it was like for the few weeks we were watching, it was so good.
- 32:20SPEAKER_01: I was laughing so much that these people are so funny.
- 32:24SPEAKER_01: Sometimes you just need a show where you laugh.
- 32:27SPEAKER_01: This is it.
- 32:28SPEAKER_01: Normally I'm like, oh, the because it's a reality show and whatever.
- 32:33SPEAKER_01: But I also A, I like it because it's really funny.
- 32:38SPEAKER_01: But B, I like it because I actually love seeing humans reach their potential.
- 32:44SPEAKER_01: I actually love seeing people audition, go after their dreams, put themselves on the line, go all in, put all themselves out there.
- 32:52SPEAKER_01: Like it's it's something to me so beautiful to experience.
- 32:57SPEAKER_01: And I like showing people on, but it's so funny.
- 32:59SPEAKER_01: So if you just really want to laugh, watch that show.
- 33:05SPEAKER_01: Okay, I have a couple last things.
- 33:08SPEAKER_01: One of them is actually a recent discovery, and maybe I'm sleeping on this, and this is the first time I've because it's the first time I've had it, but I had pistachio milk recently in matcha, so matcha latte made with pistachio milk.
- 33:22SPEAKER_01: Obsessed.
- 33:23SPEAKER_01: I'm loving it now.
- 33:27SPEAKER_01: I think the reason I love it is because it's not the same as an almond or cashew.
- 33:33SPEAKER_01: Pistachio milk is better, however, it dispens depends on the pistachio milk.
- 33:40SPEAKER_01: So Elmhurst does make an unsweetened pistachio milk.
- 33:45SPEAKER_01: So I'm sure there are pistachio milks with added sugars and all that.
- 33:49SPEAKER_01: Unsweetened pistachio milk, Elmhurst, delicious.
- 33:54SPEAKER_01: So good.
- 33:57SPEAKER_01: Yum.
- 33:58SPEAKER_01: We all need a yummy drink.
- 34:00SPEAKER_01: And then I have one last thing that I want to share, which is facial brushing.
- 34:05SPEAKER_01: So I've been doing facial brushing for a few months now, and I love it.
- 34:10SPEAKER_01: I find myself reaching for it more than gouache up.
- 34:14SPEAKER_01: And so I have like this little facial brush.
- 34:16SPEAKER_01: It's it's from Province Apothecary.
- 34:18SPEAKER_01: They actually had sent it to me back in the day when I was more of an influencer, and I never used it.
- 34:24SPEAKER_01: Why did I start facial brush?
- 34:26SPEAKER_01: I don't know why.
- 34:27SPEAKER_01: I feel like an intuitive is I didn't see someone doing it, but I think more people are doing it now.
- 34:31SPEAKER_01: I actually feel like I was doing I started doing it now, more and more people are.
- 34:35SPEAKER_01: Anyways, I love it for lymphatic drainage, but I'm liking it more than gua sha.
- 34:40SPEAKER_01: AF, it's quicker.
- 34:42SPEAKER_01: Like it doesn't take that many like time.
- 34:44SPEAKER_01: Gua shot can sometimes be a whole routine.
- 34:49SPEAKER_01: And it kind of wakes your face up in the morning.
- 34:52SPEAKER_01: So I've been doing that either before I brush my teeth or before I take a kosha for a walk.
- 34:57SPEAKER_01: Like I do it in the morning.
- 34:58SPEAKER_01: We get the lymph flowing, your face isn't as puffy, it drains, it's just amazing.
- 35:05SPEAKER_01: Big fan.
- 35:06SPEAKER_01: We do a little facial brushing.
- 35:07SPEAKER_01: It takes like 60 seconds, but makes a difference.
- 35:10SPEAKER_01: I've always been a big fan of like dry brushing on body and everything like that.
- 35:14SPEAKER_01: But this is the first time I've really gotten into brushing your face, and I've noticed a huge difference.
- 35:19SPEAKER_01: So I wanted to share about facial brushing.
- 35:22SPEAKER_01: I don't think the facial brush I have is particularly like amazing or you know, it sets it apart compared to something else.
- 35:29SPEAKER_01: I think like a brush is a brush, right?
- 35:31SPEAKER_01: It's a bristles, but either way, facial brushing does make a difference.
- 35:36SPEAKER_01: And when you don't want to do a whole gouache and put the oil on your face and do this, this is like you just brush your face a bit, it wakes it up, it's invigorating, drains the lymph, and you are good to go.
- 35:48SPEAKER_01: So I hope you enjoyed this episode on the things that I'm loving to look better, feel better, helping me optimize my life.
- 35:55SPEAKER_01: If you enjoyed it, let me know.
- 35:56SPEAKER_01: If you want more episodes like this, send me a DM so I know to make sometimes like more of these types of episodes where it's just like we're just having real chats about some of these things that are present in my life that we don't have to be like, well, let's dissolve the identity step you have with money.
- 36:11SPEAKER_01: And I will see you guys in the next episode.
