- 0:09Good morning everyone. This is Michelle Hughes from Ageless and Timeless. Today,
- 0:14I have a guest that I've been speaking with for quite a few months and
- 0:18I've been so excited to have her come on the show. Her name is
- 0:22Katherine Arnstein, and she's the CEO of energy Bits, which we're going to
- 0:27talk about today because it's probably the only company that I would be able to
- 0:33recommend my viewers in the Algae, Spirlina and Corella business. So there are
- 0:39many many people out there doing algae, but this one you're going to find
- 0:44after you hear Catherine is the most efficacious and has the most scientific research behind
- 0:51it. So Catherine, welcome to Ageless and Timeless. Well, thank you
- 0:55for having me Michelle. And I know we sent you some products soully you've
- 1:00been using it and we'll get you some more. Well, that is so
- 1:03lovely because I'm running out now and I want to say right up front that
- 1:07this product and you know, I usually don't try to trump up any any
- 1:14promotion for because I want people to decide for themselves and I don't want to
- 1:18sound like I'm an advertisement for companies, and we do. We don't have
- 1:23any affiliation and in the financial sense, except that we're both very, very
- 1:26committed to longevity and health and we were brought together for a reason, Catherine,
- 1:33and we both know that. And you know, we have so much
- 1:34in common. We're both from Boston. I was originally from Boston. Of
- 1:40course, I've lived in not of course, but I've lived in San Francisco
- 1:44for my entire adult life. But I do recognize all the places in Boston,
- 1:48and I still have a lot of family there. So that's one thing,
- 1:52And the other is that we are, uh, we're just both you
- 1:57know, at the same age, Vince, and we're both vintage. We're
- 2:01vintage. You know, we wouldn't have met if it hadn't been for Kashif,
- 2:07But I probably would have found you eventually because it just meant to be.
- 2:09But Kashif Khan, if everybody remembers watching the DNA Company podcast, it
- 2:16was fascinating and then Dan he had me do the DNA test and when we
- 2:22got the results, he said, you know, Michelle is one company I
- 2:27need you to connect with it. Because I was asking him, you know,
- 2:30what protocols should I be using to follow up to improve my epigenetic profile,
- 2:36because you know, we can't really change our genes, but we can
- 2:38modify how they And so he said, there's one company and I want you
- 2:45to meet Catherine. And so that's that's how we got together. And I
- 2:49have to say thank you again to Kashif because he is a great connector.
- 2:53And I saw online that you were on his podcast. Yes, yes,
- 2:58yes, we're a good friend. And we're both actually Canadian as well.
- 3:01I mean I live in Boston, but I'm from Canada. He's still in
- 3:06Canada. I'm down here. I know you've been in Boston for what thirty
- 3:10years? Now? Yeah? Yeah, good memory? Remember that how you
- 3:15got into this? So let's let's go take a dive into that. Let's
- 3:19go through your background first, and how did you become the person you are
- 3:23today? Yes, well, it seems I'm the global expert on algae nutrition.
- 3:29There isn't anybody else talking about it. In Asia, it's quite common,
- 3:34it's well known and has been used daily and safely for sixty years.
- 3:38But because algae has not grown for consumption here in North America, virtually nobody
- 3:44really knows about its therapeutic benefits. You know, some people know about spirlina
- 3:49and they put a scoop of it and they're smoothie and they know it's a
- 3:52super food. But that's about all I know about it. And I'm hoping
- 3:55to help your community and everyone understand that algae is probably the one thing that
- 4:01will save your life, protect your life, ensure that you don't get chronic
- 4:05diseases, will slow down aging. It's literally as close to a miracle food
- 4:10as you're ever going to get. And so how did I become an algae
- 4:15expert? Well, I wasn't. I tell people. I didn't choose algae.
- 4:17It chose me. As I mentioned, I'm Canadian and I had an
- 4:23MBA and was doing international business, had a corporate career, twenty five year
- 4:26corporate career, which was satisfying enough. And then about fifteen years ago,
- 4:31my younger sister, who I'm very close to in Canada, developed breast cancer.
- 4:36Now, first of all, I want everyone to know that she completely
- 4:39healed and we celebrate her being cancer free every year. But as she was
- 4:44preparing for her chemotherapy, her oncologist, which is a cancer specialist, told
- 4:48her she needed to change her diet to an alkaline diet. Now, they
- 4:53didn't tell her what exactly it was or why it was good for her.
- 4:56And this recommendation to change her diet didn't come from her neighbor or her yoga
- 5:00buddy her. It was from her oncologist who happened to be a woman.
- 5:04And women just tend to be more open minded when it comes to nutritional interventions.
- 5:10And so we're very grateful that A it was in Canada and b it
- 5:13was a woman. And so my sister called me because she had no idea
- 5:16what an alkaline diet was. I didn't either, but I'm a very good
- 5:19researcher, so I said, I'll find out and I did. It was
- 5:23turned out to be a plant based diet because of the phytoonutrients and the chlorophyll
- 5:28that have been proven to build your immune system, and when you do chemotherapy
- 5:30it really messes up. It pretty much kills your immune system. So and
- 5:35also if anyone's done any research on alkaline diets and or cancer, there was
- 5:42a gentleman by the name of Auto Warburg who won a Nobel Prize back in
- 5:47the thirties. He was a German scientist and he discovered that cancer cannot exist
- 5:53in an alkaline environment and your cells need to be slightly alkaline, which is
- 5:58slightly is seven point one on the scale of zero to fourteen. So I
- 6:01think because of these two issues that my sisters on coologists knew that things like
- 6:08chlorophyll and fintal nutrients were proven to build your immune system and that cancer could
- 6:12not exist in a cell that was slightly alkaline, was why she wanted to
- 6:16have a dropped alkaline diet. So I found foods for her. She went
- 6:21through a chemo completely healed, and as I said, twelve years later,
- 6:25is still cancer free. But her life changed and so did mine because as
- 6:29I was reading about these plant plant based nutrition diet for her. This was
- 6:34fifteen years ago and nobody was talking about plant based nutrition like they are now.
- 6:39So I thought, boy, somebody needs to tell the world about this
- 6:41stuff. I have no idea how I could do it, but I'm going
- 6:45to give it a try. I had no nutrition background at all, zero
- 6:49so I enrolled in a school called the Institute for Integrade of Nutrition. I
- 6:53got a health coaching certificate. I taught plant based nutrition and this is what
- 6:58led me to Algae. I'm sorry, long story, but it's sort of
- 7:00is what happened. As I was teaching plant based nutrition at hospitals and corporations.
- 7:06I found out that everybody knows they should eat more vegetables, but it
- 7:11was too much work, or they didn't like vegetables, or they gave them
- 7:14gas, or they went bad before they could eat them, or there was
- 7:16arguments at the dinner table. I mean, the list was endless of why
- 7:20people weren't eating vegetables. So I thought, Okay, I know what plant
- 7:26based nutrition can do for people, and if I can't get them to eat
- 7:29more vegetables, I need to find a way to get the nutrition into them
- 7:32in a way that's effortless. So back to everything I found for my sister,
- 7:36and it was when I got to algae that the miracle happened, because
- 7:41it turned out that algae is the most alkaline food in the world. Is
- 7:44endorsed by the Unied Nations as having the highest concentration of nutrition in the world,
- 7:47a thousand times more than any other fruit or vegetable. It's been endorsed
- 7:51by Denied Nations for fifty years as being the answer to world hunger because it
- 7:56has three times amount of protein as any other steak or chicken. It's been
- 8:01used safely for sixty years in Asia where they take it every day. And
- 8:05here's the best part. Every it comes to little tablets like this, and
- 8:11every single tablet, which is about the size of a baby, aspirin has
- 8:13the same nutrition as an entire plate of vegetables. So when you take algae
- 8:20tablets you can most people swallow them. I chew them, but in seconds
- 8:24you are nourished. No cooking, no cleaning, nothing. Each one of
- 8:28these tablets, each tablet has the same nutrition as an entire plate of vegetables.
- 8:33So now you can get all the nutrition that you need in seconds.
- 8:39It's got forty vitamins and minerals, sixty four percent protein, highest chlorophill in
- 8:45the world, loaded with pitoonutrients, and it's effortless. You can swallow them,
- 8:48you can chew them, you could add them to trail mix, there's
- 8:52no contraindications. You can give them to newborns, children, teenagers, pets,
- 8:56grandparents, anybody. And because our world is so full of toxins and
- 9:01our soils are so damaged that nobody's getting the nutrition that they need, this
- 9:07is the answer. It's effortless nutrition. I love, I love what you're
- 9:13telling us, and it's so exciting to know that there's a true alternative to
- 9:20all the food that you have to digest and you have to go through the
- 9:22microbiomee and get you know, they sometimes the side effects even with plants,
- 9:28like people have described to you. However, why is it this is,
- 9:31you know, just a curiosity question, But why is it, Catherine,
- 9:35that more people in the United States until you appeared, had not or have
- 9:41not adopted using blue green algae everyday supplement just as a matter of course.
- 9:50I mean, you know, last night I was listening to h You know,
- 9:52I'm a podcast junkie, right, so I have to be to be
- 9:56competitive and to know what other people are doing, particularly in the longevity field.
- 10:01And I listened to David Sinclair listener, I listened to Peter Atia,
- 10:05and neither one of them. They were both asked the same question, what
- 10:09supplements do you take? And neither one of them mentioned bluegreen algae. I
- 10:13know, I know, it's unbelievable. Also, here's here's why. There's
- 10:18a number of things. Today's podcast is brought to you by g Genics,
- 10:22from stem cell therapy to lifestyle coaching. G Genics is the perfect place to
- 10:28go for all your health and wellness needs. This health clinic is amazing at
- 10:33getting you personalized medicine and wellness that is unique to you. Use the code
- 10:39ageless and you'll get twenty percent off your first service with them. Go to
- 10:46www dot g genics qi ge nix dot com to find out more information about
- 10:54these powerful methods. So number one, algae isn't grown here. Ninety nine
- 11:01point nine percent of all algae, spirlin and corella are grown in Asia.
- 11:07So it's Japan, China, Korea, Taiwan. We grow ours in Taiwan,
- 11:11which is known as the gold standard for algae. By the way,
- 11:15algae is everywhere. It's in the oceans, the lakes, the rivers,
- 11:18the streams. There's blue green algae, there's green algae. There's macroalgae,
- 11:22which is seaweed that we're talking about micro algae, but it is not grown
- 11:26in America. So in Asia, Japan, any of the Asian countries,
- 11:31you can't drive your bicycle to school or drive your car to work without going
- 11:35by an algae farm. Here we drive by corn fields, wheat fields,
- 11:39tomato patches, strawberry patches. No algae. So number one, it's not
- 11:46part of our vernacular. Nobody here grew up knowing about or seeing algae farms.
- 11:50That's number one. Number two, Algae is a type of vegetable.
- 11:56We grow ours, as I mentioned in Taiwan, hydropon. That means in
- 12:01fresh water. It is not algae from the ocean. Yes, there is
- 12:05algae in the ocean, but our spilina and colorilla come from water hydroponic farms,
- 12:09which is how most of the spirillina and chlorilla is grown in Asia.
- 12:15But because it said basically a vegetable, you can't patent it. You can't
- 12:18patent broccoli, you can't patent carrots, and so biotech companies weren't interested in
- 12:24pursuing getting algae into the US market because there was no upside. There were
- 12:30not billions of dollars for them to be for them to make because you can't
- 12:33patent it. So that rules that group out. Food companies never start a
- 12:39new industry. And I remind people about ten years ago, you didn't know
- 12:43about macha or kiwa, or collagen powder, or chia or a lot of
- 12:48these other nutrients that have been used by indigenous groups for tens of thousands of
- 12:52years. Algae, by the way, has been used for two thousand years,
- 12:54and it was the first life on Earth four billion years ago. But
- 12:58until somebody in America decided to educate you about it, like Vital Proteins was
- 13:03the company that really put collagen powder on the market. Even though collagen and
- 13:07bone broth had been used around the world for centuries, it wasn't until they
- 13:13educated people about it that collagen powder took off. So so food companies wait
- 13:18until some entrepreneur has identified something like collagen powder in my case, algae and
- 13:26has proven that there's a need for it and an interest in it, and
- 13:30eventually they scoop up and acquire the companies and then take it national or global.
- 13:33And you know, that's probably one of the outcomes that might happen with
- 13:37us. So food companies aren't going to do it. Biotech companies or pharmaceuticals
- 13:41aren't going to do it. We didn't grow up with it. And here's
- 13:45the other sad part of the picture. Scientists live in silos. Our medical
- 13:52community lives in silos. Medicine medical doctors don't get any nutrition training at all
- 14:00during their residency, and their continued education is primarily paid for by pharmaceutical companies.
- 14:07The conferences that they go to. There is no nutrition education going on
- 14:13for the medical profession and when and scientists are just as siloed as medical professionals.
- 14:20So you have your heart specialists, you have your brain specialists, you
- 14:22have your vascular youth. So scientists are in their silos, and they are
- 14:28because they spend so much time in their silo to get recognized for their work.
- 14:33And David Sinclair is a very intelligent, very highly regarded I respect him
- 14:39very highly, but he's in a silo, and so there's no incentive for
- 14:45them to look outside of their silo. And I fell into this whole thing
- 14:50only to help my sister. And what is so interesting to me is that
- 14:54I came with no science background whatsoever. I call myself a citizen sigence because
- 15:00I'm completely self taught. Although I'm now going to be writing my exams to
- 15:03get a PhD. Because I know so much at this point, but because
- 15:09I come from an outside field and I read all the I've read, I've
- 15:13read about three to four thousand pub med aricles on various things that are helping
- 15:18protect the body from various chronic illnesses, inflation or inflammation or mitochondria, but
- 15:24because I didn't have a silo that I belonged to, I was able to
- 15:28connect the dots in a way that nobody else has. And so you won't
- 15:35hear anything about algae from any of these scientists because they don't know that it
- 15:41contains the nutrients that protect your health. They just know that certain nutrients will
- 15:46protect your health, but they don't know that they're in the algae because nobody
- 15:50has told them so. Obviously, Kashif Khan is an exception, as is
- 15:56Christian drip PO. I don't know if you know Christian. Yes, I
- 15:58know Christian well, and he has a mitochondria protection product that's based on algae
- 16:04as well, so you know he's but he's in he's in a certain stylo.
- 16:11I mean, you could say I'm in a silo too, I'm in
- 16:14algae. But my knowledge of how it applies to the body to prevent aging
- 16:19and improved longevity is widespread, Kashif, because DNA affects all aspects all parts
- 16:29of your body functioning, whether it's your immune system or your brain, your
- 16:32neurotransmitters. He's also got a very broad swath. But most scientists who and
- 16:41David Sinclair recently, I think he got three or four million invested in him
- 16:45by venture capital because he has some patents on his work. So and I've
- 16:51worked in that venture capital community, so I know what attracts them. And
- 16:53actually I kept them out of our company because I didn't want to have the
- 17:00focus beyond just executing sales because my job, my focus is trying to educate
- 17:04people with the benefits of algae and why ours in particulars is healthy. But
- 17:11one day, hopefully all these scientists will understand more about algae. But that's
- 17:18my job. My job is to get the word out, to show the
- 17:19science, to help them understand it, because people will only support and talk
- 17:25about something that they understand, and if they don't understand what algae does,
- 17:30there's no chance that they'll ever mention it included. It breaks my heart every
- 17:33time I see a chart of top ten antioxidants and algae is never mentioned.
- 17:38But you know, in another five or ten years it will be right up
- 17:41there with everything else because it's so applaud what you're doing in your passion.
- 17:48The one thing another he's another Canadian, of course, it's Christian, So
- 17:52we've got you cushy Christian all being you know the ones that understand the I
- 17:57mean all Canadians and all. Well, it's true Christians Canadians, So I
- 18:03forgot about that. Yeah, he's lived in the United States for over thirty
- 18:07years. His discovery of flickering algae and Klama's follow so there is the Oregon.
- 18:15Yeah. Well, I don't want to slam what Christian's doing, but
- 18:19the problem with growing algae in a lake like Klamath Lake or the ocean is
- 18:23that you cannot keep microtoxins out of it. They just so. Microtoxins are
- 18:30in any wild body of water, and algae will absorb whatever's in the water.
- 18:34So this is why the fact that we grow ours in triple filtered spring
- 18:38mountain water is really important. And we do third party lab tests to test
- 18:42for microtoxins, and of course we never have any, but there are scientific
- 18:47papers that I have read that tested the algae grown in Klamath Lake. Infact,
- 18:53they found microtoxins. It's just the way it is. And microtoxins,
- 18:56you know, attack your brain cells attack all sorts of sales are there and
- 19:00you find them in coffee, we eat, they're they're they're pretty much everywhere.
- 19:07So it's hard to avoid them. But I'm proud of the fact that
- 19:10we don't have them in our algae because we grow it so carefully in this
- 19:14triple field to spring mountain water. So uh, you know, I tell
- 19:18people, you know, when you consume algae, it's like anything, there's
- 19:22going to be poor quality and high quality. It's no different from shoes or
- 19:26beef. You know, you can get a I don't even hesitate and call
- 19:30it beef what you get from McDonald's, or you can get grass fed Kobe
- 19:33beef. And the differential is like night and day. And algae is not
- 19:37like growing broccoli. It's actually like growing wine, and the production process determines
- 19:44the quality and all the different attributes of the wine. Same with algae.
- 19:48The way you grow it in the water, the way you dry it.
- 19:51We don't use high heat when we dry our algae, which is why ours
- 19:55has is so high in its efficacy because we preserve nutrients that have been proven
- 20:00to prevent mitochondria damage, reduce inflammation, stop heart disease, Alzheimer's. And
- 20:07when you use high heat like most of the other spear len and chlural algae
- 20:11companies do to that are less expensive, the high heat, d natures the
- 20:18some of these nutrients, so they basically deactivate them. So yes, you
- 20:22can get lower quality, lower priced algae, but you're going to miss half
- 20:26of the powerful nutrients because of the use of high heat. So it's it's
- 20:32all these nuances that play into it. Oh no, they're critical. And
- 20:36I'm so glad you explained that because that's what I said in my opening that
- 20:38we were going to find out today. Why energy Bits it is a different
- 20:45it's a class of its own, and people need to understand that because I
- 20:48read all the reviews on Amazon and of energy Bits, you know, I
- 20:55went through everything, you know, almost to the team five star reviews were
- 21:02you know, the product really works, but several people said it was too
- 21:06expensive for them. So and I always think, well, something's expensive but
- 21:11worth it. You know, then if if you're dealing with your health,
- 21:15why not you know, skip that cup of coffee Starbucks sorry to say Starbucks,
- 21:21but you know, do something that's pay a little extra for the product
- 21:26that you know is going to be important to your health. So yeah,
- 21:29I'm really happy that you went through that. So let's talk. Can I
- 21:33just address the price thing, because I do want people to understand it,
- 21:37so we The most popular item that we sell are these large bags of algae
- 21:41tablets and they come with about a thousand tablets in a bag. I have
- 21:45another I can show you, but I took that quote from NASA that said
- 21:49one gram of algae has the same nutrition as a thousand grams of fruits and
- 21:55vegetables. So number one, each bag of our thousand tablets has the same
- 22:00as five hundred and fifty one pounds of vegetables. That's about thirty grocery carts
- 22:04of vegetables. So number one, it's very efficient nutrition. And also it
- 22:11never goes bad. We have to put an expiring date on three years,
- 22:14but you know what, vegetable will last forever because it technically never goes bad.
- 22:18So it's number one, very concentrated nutrition. Number two, and we
- 22:22have a twenty percent discount code we're going to share with your community at the
- 22:26end, so most people do use a discount code. A full bag of
- 22:29those thousand tablets, shure you size of it. The bag has a thousand
- 22:36tablets in it and it's normally one hundred and thirty dollars on our website energybits
- 22:41dot com. But when you use the discount code, it brings it down
- 22:44to one hundred and four dollars and people might go, oh wow, that's
- 22:47still a lot of money. But our regular for just maintenance purposes to fill
- 22:52your nutritional gaps preserve your health, we recommend ten tablets a day. So
- 22:59if you one hundred and four dollars out and you take ten tablets a day,
- 23:04you know what that works out too, a dollar a day, a
- 23:08dollar a day. But I said, and you can skip that coffee which
- 23:12is a dollar fifty or whatever for you know, even more for the lot
- 23:15des and so yeah, I mean this is where you have to make choices.
- 23:19And I always say on my podcast, your health is your responsibility,
- 23:23and it is your It's the sum total of your choices. Correctly. This
- 23:30is why I want people to be aware of you, because there's just a
- 23:33choice that a lot of people are not even cognizant of, except you know,
- 23:37if they happen to bump into you on one of your podcasts or or
- 23:42on Amazon. I'm so happy that you know you have that distribution because it
- 23:47does put a wider spread awareness of what you're doing. So the other thing
- 23:55is, you know, well, I always say you get what you pay
- 23:57for. So that's normally true, not always, but normally true. So
- 24:03but what let's let's go backwards a little bit. I want people to understand
- 24:07what these mitochondria do for us because we talk so much about cellular aging in
- 24:15all of my many of my podcasts, that you know, all aging begins
- 24:19in the cells. That's kind of a revelation that a lot of people never
- 24:23were still are not aware of that that really you have to look at what
- 24:30your cell, which is your mitochondria, which is the energy is the ATP
- 24:34of your cells. So that's the motor that runs the It's like the host
- 24:37computer. And so if you look at mitochondria, talk to us about why
- 24:45blue green algae or energy bits effects the mitochondria of the cells. And do
- 24:51the backdrop of what we're facing today, which is more toxins than we've ever
- 24:56known or civilization has ever known. Seven hundred average toxins in each of us.
- 25:03That's that's daunting to think about. I mean, how could you ever
- 25:06fight off and reduce aging when seven hundred toxins are streaming and floating around in
- 25:14your body? So, right, boxes the kind of a hot name a
- 25:18hot topic. But just go through and explain to us, Catherine, because
- 25:22people need to understand why is it that blue green algae is the can be
- 25:29an answer or at least a solution to these seven hundred toxins and the reduction
- 25:34and of course the mitochondrial health which will affect our aging. Yes, well,
- 25:41thank you. There's two. So there's two main things that are causing
- 25:44all this disease inflammation aging. One is, as you mentioned this, to
- 25:49the high load of toxins. Our bodies weren't made to support that level of
- 25:56toxicity, and so you need to get those toxins out because they lodge in
- 26:00your cell membranes, they lodge in the mitochondria, they prevent proper cellular communication,
- 26:07they prevent proper absorption of nutrition. And the way there are you know,
- 26:14there's two main I'm gonna sort of give you a little bit more of
- 26:17a background. There's two main algae that we sell or that you can you
- 26:19can find on it whole foods or target or anywhere. It's Spearlina, which
- 26:26is a blue green algae, and the other algae is Chlorrella, which is
- 26:30a green algae. And so the green one is the detoxing algae. We
- 26:34call ours recovery bits for that reason, because it helps you recover your health.
- 26:38And chlorrella has the highest chlorophyll in the world, which is why it's
- 26:45called chlorilla. And the reason why that's why chlorophyll is important is because the
- 26:49chemical composition of chlorophyll I'm going to show you a picture, is virtually identical
- 26:53to your hemoglob. Here's the chemical composition of chlorophyll. Here's the chemical composition
- 26:59of your humoglobe. They're virtually identical. So Number one, chlorophyll, which
- 27:03is found in plants, but not virtually not enough of it anymore because their
- 27:07soils are so damaged. Chlorophyll builds your blood, and when you have a
- 27:11healthy blood, you're going to have a healthier immune system, you're going to
- 27:14have a healthier gut, you're gonna have everything in your body is going to
- 27:17be healthier. So that's number one about chlorilla. Number two, it has
- 27:21a hard cell wall that attaches to toxins, lead, mercury, radiation,
- 27:26aluminum, glyphysate, pesticides, alcohol, lactic acid attaches to them and chelates
- 27:32them, which means pulls them out. So that's detoxing in its own right.
- 27:37And it also has fiber which feeds your gut biome, so that your
- 27:41gut, in your gut, your immune system. Eighty percent of your immune
- 27:44system is in your gut. So this is why chlorilla is known as a
- 27:48detox immune health builder algae. It's cleansing, it's detoxing, and it builds
- 27:56your gut. And so that is number one, getting rid of the toxin,
- 28:00building your your immune system, and healing your gut. Now, that's
- 28:04what chlorilla does, and that's why we call ours recovery bits because it helps
- 28:07you to recover. The other piece of the equation is nourishment of your body,
- 28:14your brain, and your mitochondria, and that is done by Spillina,
- 28:18which is a blue green algae. It's called a blue green algae because it
- 28:22has two pigments in it. It has a blue one that's called phychosynin,
- 28:27which probably nobody has ever heard of before, and has the green one,
- 28:32which is chlorophyll. So if you were to put some tablets of spillina into
- 28:36a plate, this is the blue color that comes out. This is and
- 28:40the and you spell phycosin and p h y co c y A n I
- 28:47N. It does not exist anywhere else in nature only in spirialina. Uh,
- 28:51and it disperses evenly chlorophyll, which is in chlorilla. It's also in
- 28:56Spureleian clumps because it's a fat based pigment. But as we get into the
- 29:00mitochondria in a deeper conversation right now, I want you to know that that
- 29:04phychocyan, which is blue, has been proven to kill cancer cells. That's
- 29:11pretty important and I can walk you through how that how that happens. But
- 29:15anyway, so blue green algae which is Spillina is the algae that is recognized
- 29:21for healing the mitochondria. Chlerella is the one that heals your gut and your
- 29:26new system. So they work together and they do quite separate things. So
- 29:32what exactly is oh sorry sorry, but I think people should know that the
- 29:37body, if you say it doesn't make the body starts making these sood which
- 29:45I'm sure you're going to talk about as psychosyon, and the body stops making
- 29:51these nutrients at age of about thirty. Soially, I think it's like you
- 29:56said in one of your podcasts, is because we were programmed to live,
- 30:00you know, until age thirty. But guess what, we're living a lot
- 30:03longer, and now our body stops making so many nutrients at that age,
- 30:08so now we have to externally supplement. So keep going, but I just
- 30:12can't chat. The body does support you until you're about thirty years old,
- 30:18and then you notice that about thirty thirty five years old that some of these
- 30:22things that you've taken for granted are not doing what they use to do.
- 30:26Right, is where you have to start looking for other solutions. Right,
- 30:32Okay, So back to the mitochondria. As you mentioned, they're what propels.
- 30:37They create what's called cellular energy also known as ATP, and cellular energy
- 30:44is needed for everything, not just going for a run run or doing your
- 30:48errands. It's required for your newer transmitters, for your lymphatic system, for
- 30:53your heartbeat, for your breathing, absolutely everything. And I tell people having
- 30:57more cellular energy is like having more money. When you have more money,
- 31:02you can do more things and you have more choices. And same with cellular
- 31:04energy, you can do more things and you have more choices. The problem
- 31:08is as we get older, the creation of this cellular energy, which is
- 31:15made by the mitochondria, decreases, and because as we get older, the
- 31:19mitochondria decrease, they get damaged, so they're not functioning as well. And
- 31:26an analogy I make to for why you know what's happening is that imagine your
- 31:30body is like a building, and when the new building is built, everything's
- 31:34brand new, the offices are beautiful, and you've got lots of maintenance people.
- 31:41So when you're born, same thing. Everything's brand new, everything's working.
- 31:44As the building gets older, if it's not well maintained, the lights
- 31:49go out and the offices get dirty, so the maintenance people have to come
- 31:52in and change the lights and clean the offices. As you get older,
- 31:56think of your cells like those offices. If they don't get and if somebody
- 32:00and the mitochondria are like the light bulbs in the office. If somebody is
- 32:05not turning the light bulbs back on, then you know you can't do any
- 32:09work. Your cell can't function because it doesn't have light. So what you're
- 32:13going to find out about spirillina is it effectively turns the lights back on in
- 32:17your in your cells because it reactivates the mitochondria, just like the maintenance crew
- 32:23would go in and replace any light bulbs that had died in an office.
- 32:29So this is what spirillina does it turns the lights back on in your cells
- 32:32so that your which are your mitochondria, so they can function better for you.
- 32:37And when you have more cellular energy, it means your body has more
- 32:42energy to fight a disease Fyta virus. Think faster, breathe properly, have
- 32:47less heart palpitations, clean out your immune system. It just works better.
- 32:52So let's take a look at what's really going on with these mitochondria. Why
- 32:57are they getting damaged and when do they get damage and why exactly is algae
- 33:01The answer that with nutrients not found anywhere else in the world. So I'm
- 33:06going to walk you through a bit of a science class. Here. Here's
- 33:08your cell, and inside the cell is your nucleus, and these little peanut
- 33:14shaped things are your mitochondria. Now you have two million of these little peanut
- 33:17shaped things mitochondria in your brain. Because the highest concentration of mitochondria are where
- 33:23the greatest energy needs are. That's your brain, your heart, your muscles.
- 33:29Inside the mitochondria, this is where the ATP is produced. But what
- 33:34people don't tell you is that a byproduct of ATP producing all that energy are
- 33:39free radicals and free radicals are damaging. And the problem is your mitochondria have
- 33:46their own DNA which are located exactly where the free radicals are being released.
- 33:52So your regular DNA is nowhere near where the free radicals are being produced.
- 33:58It's just the mitochondria and your mitochondria DNA. There are thirty seven of them.
- 34:02I know, there's only thirty seven compared to twenty two thousand regular DNA,
- 34:07but those thirty seven control everything else. They control your regular DNA,
- 34:14they control cellular communications. So when they get damaged by all these free radicals,
- 34:20they either die or they send wrong signals. And when they die or
- 34:24send wrong signals, this causes inflammation, which leads to disease. It doesn't
- 34:30matter whether it's heart disease, Alzheimer's, autoimmune, et cetera. So you
- 34:37say to yourself, well, you know what's really going on. I'm going
- 34:42to give you a little bit more of a science lesson the way that the
- 34:45ATP that cellular energy is produced. It's a bit complicated and it's called the
- 34:52electron transport chain. And what happens is I'm sure everyone's watched a relay race
- 34:59right right, Whether there's some a runner they have a baton, they pass
- 35:01the baton to the next runner. That runner runs the next distance and hopefully
- 35:06they cross the finish line and win. Well, it's very similar to the
- 35:08way your cellular energy is made, except instead of passing a baton from one
- 35:15runner to the next, what's passed are something called electrons, and instead of
- 35:20winning the race, you get energy. But the problem is this is the
- 35:25picture of how the So these molecules are like the runners, and they pass
- 35:30electrons from one to the next, and then they generate cellular energy. But
- 35:34when your mitochondria get damaged, what happens is those runners get basically get spread
- 35:42out. They're further and further apart from one another when they're close. When
- 35:45they're healthy, they can pass the electrons, win the race, generate lots
- 35:50of energy. Everybody's happy. When you have damaged mitochondria, the mitochondria expand.
- 35:55Now they can't transfer the electrons from one to the next. So what
- 36:00happens. Two things happen. Because the electrons aren't being transferred, you are
- 36:05generating cellular energy. So now you're fatigued, you have brain fog. You
- 36:10don't have cellular energy to fight that virus or whatever. So that's number one.
- 36:15Number two. Because the electrons aren't generating energy, they don't just disappear.
- 36:21What happens is they leak out into the rest of the mitochondria and they
- 36:25become free radicals. And free radicals cause inflammation. So as you get more
- 36:34damaged mitochondria, the damage gets worse and worse and worse. Here's the picture
- 36:37of a healthy mitochondria, and here's a picture of a damaged mitochondria with all
- 36:43those little electrons that have leaked out and caused inflammation. So when you have
- 36:50all this damage going on, you just get more and more tired, You
- 36:54age faster, your skin gets wrinkles, your digestion doesn't work because you're just
- 37:00not generating cellular energy. The good news is there's two ways to correct it,
- 37:06and algae is the answer in both situations. The first way is to
- 37:09reduce the free radicals that are being produced, and the second one is to
- 37:15remove them. Let's look at the first one. The things that cause the
- 37:20most free radicals to leak out are processed carbs. Processed carbs generate massive amounts
- 37:27of free radicals. So the first and easiest way for you to protect your
- 37:30health and protect your longevity is to reduce the number of processed carbs that you're
- 37:37eating. You could do a keto diet, you don't have to, you
- 37:39can just go glow carb. But even better is intermittent fasting or taking algae.
- 37:45In both those cases there's virtually zero free radicals being produced. So that's
- 37:52the easiest, doesn't cost you anything. Just reduce your carb lode and you
- 37:57will have fewer free radicals to damage the mitochondria. The second way you can
- 38:02protect your mitochondria and therefore your health, is to remove the free radicals.
- 38:07Now we all have heard of antioxidants, right, and all this explained what
- 38:12an antioxidant is. A free radical has an unpaired electron orbiting it, and
- 38:20nature loves harmony. And so when you have an unpaired electron, that molecule
- 38:25will try to steal electron from another molecule, which causes tissue damage. And
- 38:30now that one's unbalanced, and so it will try to steal an electron from
- 38:35the next one. And so this is what causes inflammation and damage. The
- 38:38good thing is something called antioxidants have extra electrons. So it's like going to
- 38:44school and someone stole your lunch. So then you steal someone else's lunch.
- 38:47Well, an antioxidant is like someone who brought in a free lunch for you.
- 38:52It donates the electron to the unstable free radical so that it neutralizes it
- 38:58and is no longer damaging and so. But in the mitochondria there is a
- 39:05free radical called superoxide. It has three unpaired electrons, so it is three
- 39:12times as damaging, and so it really needs antioxidants to reduce that damage.
- 39:19The problem is, your mitochondria is the only cell in your entire body that
- 39:22has two membranes. All of your cells have something called a lipid membrane,
- 39:28and mitochondria have a lipid membrane as well, and I'll tell you in a
- 39:30minute where that came from. The mitochondria have a second membrane and virtually no
- 39:36antioxidants can get in there. You could eat a room full of blueberries,
- 39:40vitamin C, vitamin E, none of it will get into that inner membrane
- 39:45of the of the mitochondria. So your traditional antioxidants, even drugs, can't
- 39:50get in there. Don't stop the free radical damage. The good news is
- 39:53there are a couple that do. Chlorophyll is one of them. Glutathione,
- 40:01and one you already mentioned, superoxid disney tase, which is also known as
- 40:06SOD. Those can all get into the inner membrane of the mitochondria and stop
- 40:12free radical damage. And the great thing is Spirillina algae has the highest concentration
- 40:17of all three. And if you ever had any doubt about the importance of
- 40:22this nutrient called superoxid disneytase, there are twenty five thousand studies that have proven
- 40:29that it stops heart disease Alzheimer's inflammation because of this unique ability to neutralize that
- 40:37triple threat superoxide, which is a very unstable free radical that is generated as
- 40:44a byproduct of ATP production. So the fact that spirillina has the highest concentration
- 40:50of it, and scientists don't even know this because nobody's looking at algae.
- 40:53They know that superoxide is important. They also know that it doesn't exist in
- 40:59any other food in the world, any other food. I'm going to reemphasize
- 41:02that except Spirillina algae. But there's two catches it. Superoxide. SOD is
- 41:09normally an antioxidant. It is an enzyme, and anybody who knows anything about
- 41:15nutrition knows that enzymes are deactivated at one hundred and fourteen degrees fahrenheit, and
- 41:22virtually all the other algae companies use high heat to dry their algae because they
- 41:25are lower priced algae and they have to get to market quickly, so by
- 41:30using high heat they basically kill the superoxide dim taste. So you can go
- 41:36and go to target by much less expensive spirialina. But I can almost promise
- 41:40you that the sod that's in there won't do anything for your mitochondria. We
- 41:46don't use high heat to dry our alergae. And the other thing we can
- 41:50recommend is frozen or fresh spirillina because again it has not been exposed to high
- 41:55heat, but it's messy, expires quickly, can't do anything with the taste,
- 42:00and most people don't like it, and it's hard to find. So
- 42:05this is why you know, we're talking to folks like the Gershan Institute and
- 42:07the Hipocris Institute that use fresh spirillina when they're working with their patients who have
- 42:14staged three and four are cancered, but once they leave the center, they
- 42:19want an easier way for them to get access to the superoxidismutase from a raw
- 42:24spirillina. Source and they were happy to find out that our spirillina is considered
- 42:30raw because we don't use high heat. So now you have this imagine.
- 42:34You know you're in a rain storm, but you've got your trustee umbrella and
- 42:38it's protecting you from the rain. That's great, right, And that's what
- 42:43superoxide disimutase does. It protects you from the rain storm and your body makes
- 42:46it. As you mentioned, until the age of thirty. But biology thinks
- 42:52that we're going to We've lived for two hundred million years in our biology and
- 42:57our evolution thinks we're going to die at thirty because up until about two hundred
- 43:01years ago, we did so. After the age of thirty, because you
- 43:05have superoxide dismytase being generated by your body from the moment you're born until you're
- 43:10thirty. By the time you're forty, your body doesn't have any superoxydismittase being
- 43:15made. So it's like someone's pulled that umbrella away from you. Now,
- 43:21your poor old mitochondria. There's there's still the cascade, the big storm of
- 43:27prey radicals being produced as a byproduct of ATP, but you no longer have
- 43:30that umbrella called superoxidentities to protect you, which takes spillina with the highest concentration
- 43:38of superoxidentities in the world. It's like getting your umbrella back. Yeah.
- 43:44There's one other one that the master antioxydant that you mentioned, which is glutacion
- 43:47ione. Yeah, so with glutacione, and you know, this is what
- 43:53people don't realize, you know, glutacyone is very very difficult to absorb into
- 43:58the body. You really, if you go and take an IV it's gone
- 44:02in a half hour. I mean, yes, he got to the mitochondria.
- 44:06Maybe did some good in helping to do what you just described with respect
- 44:10to these cells and the ATP, which is to get rid of free radicals.
- 44:15But you lose it, and so I take it every day, but
- 44:20I take it as a liposomal, you know, under the tongue, sublingual
- 44:24and then now you can inject it. But again I don't know how long
- 44:29the injection that I would be taking. I haven't started that yet. But
- 44:32I just wonder am I wasting my money because the injection is not going to
- 44:37last either? So right, well here's the great Yeah, this is why
- 44:42I love spirolina so much, and you can to it. I too mine,
- 44:45But you can also swallow it because spirillina is not even a plant,
- 44:51and the reason why that's important. It's actually a bacteria. It's called a
- 44:54sino bacteria. And the reason why that's important is because it has no selling,
- 45:00this wall for your body to break down to get access to the nutrients
- 45:02including glutathione, chlorophyll and superoxyd disney tasees. So when you choose spirillina and
- 45:08I do, and if you like the flavor, I will warn people it's
- 45:13very chewy because it has sixty four percent protein. It's low to essential fatty
- 45:16acids. But if you do like it, you will get it will get
- 45:21absorbed into your body within seconds because as you mentioned, it goes sublingually through
- 45:25your mouth. Now, if you swallow it, and I'd say ninety five
- 45:29percent of our customers do swallow it because they don't like the flavor, it
- 45:32still gets absorbed so quickly because there is no selling, this wall to break
- 45:38down, and all of the forty vitamins and nutrients, including the glutathione the
- 45:43superoxy disney taste get absorbed into the bloodstream instantly, and so it gets directed
- 45:49to the to the mitochondria and where it needs to go so it's not damaged
- 45:54in the stomach digestive process. The gorilla does take longer because it does have
- 46:00a celius wall, and in fact it's the hardest cellius wall in the plant
- 46:05king and it takes about an hour and a half to get fully absorbed into
- 46:09the system. So that's why, in fact, we're working with a lot
- 46:14of ivy drip companies to stack the taking spiralina while their patients or their clients
- 46:20are getting the drip because it will extend and deepen the effects of the glue
- 46:24to thione drip because of the capability of it to be absorbed so quickly.
- 46:30So it's pretty In fact, we're using we're working with cryotherapy and red light
- 46:35therapy for the same reason because it really deepens and improves the quality of the
- 46:40treatment and the life of the treatment. So it's it's pretty interesting. I
- 46:45just got flagged that we only have five minutes, so I want you to
- 46:49be able to talk about the other category, the beauty category, because I
- 46:52know many of our viewers are very interested in anti aging from the aesthetic standpoint,
- 46:58So can you tell us about your beauty bits. Yeah, So,
- 47:04the funny thing about beauty Bits is it's exactly same as Energy Bits, and
- 47:07it's one hundred percent spirillen organically grown spirillina. That one's Vitality Bits, which
- 47:13is a blend of the two algae. Now, the reason why there are
- 47:15two spirillina is because I started the company because of my sister, and we
- 47:19found that women just did not like the blue packaging of the energy bits.
- 47:24So my girlfriends literally said, here's your beauty bits. Canisder My girlfriend said,
- 47:30you got to make it pick and give it a cute name. And
- 47:32here's the really interesting thing. Spirillina has more collagen in it than collagen powder.
- 47:39So if you're looking to build your in, collagen powder is necessary for
- 47:43your skin and for your joints. So number one, it helps build collagen.
- 47:49It also has nutrients in it, likes vitamin K two that removes excess
- 47:53calcium, which can damage your elastin. The lastin is what holds your skin
- 47:58structure up. It's sort of like scaffolding, and so when it gets damaged,
- 48:01it collapses and that contributes to wrinkles, so speirlina helps protect you from
- 48:07that. It also has, as I mentioned, as the highest protein in
- 48:10the world. People tell us all the time. Their hair is growing so
- 48:15fast they have to get Men hate the fact they have to get hair cuts
- 48:19twice as often because their hair is growing so quickly. On the other hand,
- 48:22it's a great news for as you get older, it's harder to maintain
- 48:27healthy hair. You have lots of breakage. This will prevent that. It
- 48:30also builds your nails. My my nails are as hard as nails. I
- 48:36could probably open a my apartment door with my nails because there's there's there like
- 48:40a rock. I don't get any you know, tips or anything. I've
- 48:44never put that on, although you know you're welcome to if you want to.
- 48:46So between the collagen, the alkalinity also uh prevents blemishes. Blemishes are
- 48:54caused by bacteria, and bacteria is acidic. So back to that whole auto
- 49:01Warburg scenario where cancer or any disease or bacteria can't exist in an alkaline state
- 49:07seen with blemishes. By the way, chlorophyll and algae has the highest chlorophyll
- 49:13in the world, five hundred times more than arugula and twenty five times more
- 49:16than liquid chlorophyll. It kills bacteria. It kills it in your mouth,
- 49:21It kills it in your skin. It kills in your colon, so very
- 49:23cleansing from chlorophyll. And there's you know, may arugula goes yellow after day
- 49:29three because there's hardly any chlorophyll in there any longer, So very good for
- 49:34nourishing your skin. Keeping that doing this the strength of the collagen. I
- 49:38did an analysis of the aminos in spillina compared to collagen powder, and we
- 49:44have up to four hundred percent more of some aminos than found in collagen powder.
- 49:49And collagen powder is not sustainable or eco friendly. You know, it's
- 49:53made from melted down skin and bones and tendons of animals or fish. They
- 50:00don't want you to know this, but they use chemicals to melt all that
- 50:02stuff down, so it's not quite as good for you as they make it
- 50:07to appear. And let's face it, it's you gotta stir it, you
- 50:10gotta mix it. It doesn't I don't know anybody that likes the flavor of
- 50:13it. With spirillina and chlorilla, they come in tablets. You can swallow
- 50:17these tablets, no flavor, no repeat, like fish oil. So when
- 50:22you take spirillina, because it's so nourishing, it will replace most supplements.
- 50:27You don't need a multi vitamin, you don't need collagen, you don't need
- 50:30fish oil, you probably don't need biotin co Q ten. And chlorilla,
- 50:36which is again our recovery bits, has so much chlorophyll and fiber in it
- 50:40you don't need to eat another vegetable again. And if you don't like vegetables,
- 50:44you'll get all the nourishment you need from the chlorilla. So they replace
- 50:49a lot of things their food. It's non supplements, which means your body
- 50:53absorbs it. It's rapidly absorbed, very concentrated nutrition, very high value.
- 51:00Ten tablets a day of each one costs you a dollar. And if we
- 51:06can put a stop to this rise. And you know cancer, we didn't
- 51:08talk about cancer, but cancer, heart disease, Alzheimer's. Speirrilina is very
- 51:14much a brain food when we're talking about Alzheimer's, and chlorilla is very much
- 51:19a gut food. So the two of them aren't quite they are together.
- 51:22And I would tell people and that are watching today and buy them together.
- 51:29Don't don't do one it and not the other, because they really are complimentary.
- 51:31They're like, yes, you know, they were like twins and you
- 51:35don't want to those twins to get the least effects at the outcome. So
- 51:40okay, one minute. Tell us how people can order energy bits. I
- 51:45know on Amazon is one, but can they come to you directly? Oh

- 52:13write a full blog every month, lots of scientific references. I didn't mention
- 52:17this earlier, but there are over one hundred thousand studies documenting all of the
- 52:22health benefits that I mentioned today, plus thousands more. So everything is scientifically
- 52:27documented. It's just not well known. And as I tell people, algae
- 52:31isn't new, it's just new to you, so do a little research.
- 52:37It's here to stay. It's been here for almost four billion years, just
- 52:39that nobody lifted the lid to explain to you what it does and why you
- 52:44need it. So I hope this has been helpful, but do come and
- 52:47visit us at energybits dot com. Use the discount code ageless for your twenty

- 53:05Catherine, and one other thing I would let people know if you're at all
- 53:09apprehensive, Energy bits makes it easy for you because they provide you with a
- 53:15smaller packaging that you can it's just show true, Catherine, and you can
- 53:20buy the smaller one. Yeah, we have a sample pack on our website
- 53:23where you get one of each of the four brands. Here's the four brands
- 53:25behind me. Or you can buy the single pouches on Amazon for six dollars.
- 53:30Try to take and each pouch has thirty tablets in it, so that's
- 53:36probably if you have any doubts, go to Amazon. Just buy a couple
- 53:38of pouches for six dollars each. It's a really small investment and then enjoy
- 53:43a larger discount when you come to our website the twenty percent off with ageless.
- 53:47But yeah, we just want people to feel comfortable with it, and
- 53:52do try to keep them separately. Some people end up liking the Spillina more
- 53:54than the colorilla, or vice versa. We do offer a product called Vitality
- 53:59Bits, is a blend of the two algae, but you won't be able
- 54:01to tell if there's one that you prefer. If you start with that one,
- 54:06I would I would start you with either the Spillina, which is either
- 54:08the energy Bits or Beauty Bits. I call them my twins because my brands
- 54:14are like my children, and those are identical, just different packaging. So
- 54:16Spirrillina is your energy bits or your beauty bits. Chlorella, which is the
- 54:22wellness algae, is the Chlora is the recovery bits. It's a green algae.
- 54:27And then Vitality Bits is the blend of the two algae into a tablet
- 54:32that's perfect. And I can't I can't let us go without complimenting you as
- 54:37I did when we spoke offline in the quality of your website and your product
- 54:45packaging, and then you did share the secret with me that you had some
- 54:47background in that world. So I just want to give you another two.
- 54:52Oh, thank you. It's kind of you on everything you do all of
- 54:55your collateral material, everything is is esthetically pleasing, so congratulations for that.
- 55:02It makes it very pleasant for the consumer. Yes, while we're trying to
- 55:07take the weirdness out of Algae, and I if I can't do anything really
- 55:12well, I just don't do it at all. But I wanted the packaging
- 55:15to reflect the quality of what Alga does inside your body. So I want
- 55:20the packaging to be as friendly and welcoming and energetic visually as what Aldi does
- 55:25internally. So I guess it sounds like I've achieved my goal. I want
- 55:30to say about a year because we're books solid, but in about a year,
- 55:35i'd like to have you back because you're every day you're accomplishing new frontiers,
- 55:39and I want our viewers to be kept informed of what you're doing,
- 55:44even just the you know, the I know you're going into what's it newman,
- 55:47Marcus, or you're getting into let's just say you mentioned that you were
- 55:52dealing with the IV practitioners, So let's just put on the table that a
- 55:58year from now we have to have you back and we're going to talk about
- 56:01everything that's we didn't get to today, which is a lot. And then
- 56:05then some with all the accomplishments, because every day your work so hard.
- 56:08I know you're accomplishing so much. So I have to say goodbye to you,
- 56:13but it's very bad to do so, because I'd love to talk for
- 56:15another I'm so happy that we do cross paths and we'll be seeing each other,
- 56:22I'm sure in the future in person. Thank you so much, Michelle,
