- 0:04Speaker 1: Hey, it's Alex Garrett. One Leg Up Alex and we
- 0:06Speaker 1: are in twenty twenty six, which means one lug Up
- 0:09Speaker 1: Alex in twenty twenty six. Tune in. We've just published
- 0:12Speaker 1: over fifteen hundred episodes in twelve years, with more TOICOM.
- 0:16Speaker 1: Thanks to you out there listening One Leg Up Alex
- 0:19Speaker 1: in twenty twenty six. You know, one of my news
- 0:23Speaker 1: sources for One Leg Up Alex news is definitely call
- 0:25Speaker 1: screening for Mike Gallagher and I have to say today
- 0:31Speaker 1: fillin host Joey Hudson played a cut and there is
- 0:35Speaker 1: a longer version of it that got me thinking a lot.
- 0:39Speaker 1: Here's what Keith Ellison had to say me in case
- 0:41Speaker 1: you missed it. Protesters stormed a church in the Minneapolis
- 0:47Speaker 1: because the pastor was going on ice rays it might
- 0:53Speaker 1: be a member of the ice team up in Minneapolis,
- 1:00Speaker 1: and what he said kind of drew some experiences I've
- 1:08Speaker 1: had and fears I've had and also just trying to
- 1:15Speaker 1: figure it out. So let's figure it out together. Here's
- 1:17Speaker 1: what Keith Elson said about the protesters by Don Lemon,
- 1:22Speaker 1: who stormed the church this past Sunday.
- 1:25Speaker 2: Attorney General, I know you know what's going on. I'm
- 1:28Speaker 2: sure you've heard of what's going on.
- 1:29Speaker 1: What do you think of this and what happened at
- 1:32Speaker 1: the church and all that.
- 1:34Speaker 2: Well, let me tell you, I think that, you know,
- 1:38Speaker 2: the protest is a fundamental to American society. This country
- 1:43Speaker 2: started in a protest, and you know, it's freedom of expression.
- 1:47Speaker 2: People have a right to lift up their voices and
- 1:50Speaker 2: make their peace, and none of us are immune from
- 1:54Speaker 2: the voice of the of the public. So I quite honestly,
- 1:57Speaker 2: I think that you got the First Amendment freedom of
- 2:00Speaker 2: religion and the freedom of a First Amendment freedom of expression,
- 2:03Speaker 2: and I think that you know, it's just I think
- 2:07Speaker 2: it's just some of the go to live within a
- 2:10Speaker 2: society like this. So you know, uh, this this this
- 2:14Speaker 2: administration is real tender about things when it comes to
- 2:20Speaker 2: their own interests, but they don't care about the same
- 2:23Speaker 2: things when those things don't lie in their favor. So
- 2:27Speaker 2: you know, they're getting tender about a church service now,
- 2:29Speaker 2: But you know these people are they're arrested people in clinics, schools, churches,
- 2:36Speaker 2: anywhere they choose to do it, and so they're not
- 2:39Speaker 2: They don't really care about sacred and sensitive places unless
- 2:42Speaker 2: it works in their faith, and you know that they
- 2:45Speaker 2: get real sensitive and real about police until those police
- 2:51Speaker 2: are protecting democracy. Then they don't care about police suddenly.
- 2:54Speaker 2: I mean, these people are highly selective, and I think that,
- 2:58Speaker 2: I just I think that if people want to protest
- 3:02Speaker 2: the behavior of you know, a particular religious leader, then
- 3:05Speaker 2: people are allowed to do that.
- 3:08Speaker 1: I mean, look, when they first talked about going into churches, Yeah,
- 3:14Speaker 1: I was unnerved by that. I just I was unnerved
- 3:21Speaker 1: by that. But this feels different. This is interrupting an
- 3:32Speaker 1: entire church service to make your voice heard. What did
- 3:38Speaker 1: happen to freedom of religion? Attorney General Keith elesson every year,
- 3:43Speaker 1: whether it's Easter or Christmas or those big Christian holidays.
- 3:50Speaker 1: And I'm in that church. I am extremely nervous that
- 3:57Speaker 1: those cathedrals like Saint John the Divine and Saint Thomas Church,
- 4:04Speaker 1: Saint Patrick's Cathedral could be overrun by looney leftists. That's
- 4:10Speaker 1: a real fear because these people know no boundaries, These
- 4:18Speaker 1: protesting rioters and agitators and anarchists no no boundaries, and
- 4:29Speaker 1: to excuse the behavior now inspires others to do it
- 4:32Speaker 1: in other cities. I am not entirely for the way
- 4:39Speaker 1: ICE is doing this round up situation here. But I
- 4:45Speaker 1: also can condemn what's going on with these protesters that
- 4:52Speaker 1: are storming a church. And maybe it's wrong that the
- 4:59Speaker 1: past is part of ICE. I don't agree with that either.
- 5:06Speaker 1: But for the worshiper's sake, for the parishioner's sake, let
- 5:10Speaker 1: them just pray in peace. But these protesters no bounds.
- 5:26Speaker 1: And when you start to condone and not condemn, it
- 5:34Speaker 1: could get worse than screaming and yelling. Okay, that's the
- 5:38Speaker 1: problem here. It starts at screaming and yelling. But do
- 5:45Speaker 1: we really violence in the church because they feel empowered
- 5:51Speaker 1: to do more than just screaming yell at a pastor?
- 5:58Speaker 1: Do we want to scare parishioners who are really just faithful?
- 6:01Speaker 1: By the way, what are you metaphor for attack on God?
- 6:05Speaker 1: When they're attacking the house of worship and the parishioners
- 6:10Speaker 1: in there by interrupting their service, This was an attack
- 6:16Speaker 1: on freedom of religion. This was an attack on those
- 6:22Speaker 1: who believe in God, and they went in there as
- 6:28Speaker 1: a guise of while he's dealing with Ice, he's involved
- 6:31Speaker 1: with Ice. But deeper we know what the issue is
- 6:34Speaker 1: here it was an attack on God. Well, really it
- 6:42Speaker 1: was attack on believers. God will straighten them outs, but
- 6:48Speaker 1: it was an attack on believers, and I fully believe that.
- 6:56Speaker 1: So when Keith Ellison says all that and then says, oh,
- 7:01Speaker 1: they have a right to protest and they can make
- 7:05Speaker 1: their voice heard, especially even in a church, the Attorney General,
- 7:15Speaker 1: you're supposed to uphold the rule of law, and I
- 7:23Speaker 1: believe freedom of religion should be acknowledged and honored. Pastors
- 7:32Speaker 1: shady side aside for the parishioners who did nothing wrong
- 7:39Speaker 1: but just go to church on Sunday. Leave those people.
- 7:44Speaker 1: You say, love thy neighbor. Parishioners are neighbors too, you
- 7:49Speaker 1: say love thy neighbor. People go to synagogue, Our people
- 7:53Speaker 1: our neighbors too. You say love thy neighbor. In this
- 8:01Speaker 1: ruse of trying to beat down the immigration policies, Well,
- 8:11Speaker 1: the neighbor can also be a good person who just
- 8:17Speaker 1: wants to go to church or go to synagogue and pray,
- 8:22Speaker 1: or even a mosque. So you want to say love
- 8:28Speaker 1: thy neighbor, confront the pastor call him out at a
- 8:33Speaker 1: different time. I'm not exactly thrilled that he's involved with
- 8:36Speaker 1: ice that's terrible, but should the parishioners really face the
- 8:41Speaker 1: front of it. You say love thy neighbor, then love
- 8:48Speaker 1: thy neighbor, no matter what they believe or who they
- 8:51Speaker 1: believe in. You a theistic, agnostic creeps. This wasn't just
- 9:00Speaker 1: to deal with the pastors, to interrupt the whole church service.
- 9:06Speaker 1: Those outside of the Yndagogue, that's not just about free Palestine.
- 9:12Speaker 1: They want to interrupt a Jewish person's way of life.
- 9:17Speaker 1: They want to say humus, they want to support Hamas,
- 9:20Speaker 1: but Hamas kills Jewish people. They're not there for freedom
- 9:24Speaker 1: of protests. They're there for hate speech. This was hate speech,
- 9:33Speaker 1: and Keith Allison is condoning it, not condemning it. I
- 9:39Speaker 1: remember watching when the vaccines were really becoming a strain
- 9:46Speaker 1: on people's beliefs. Signs outside Trinity Church and they might
- 9:51Speaker 1: have tried to go in there. The anti vaxxers boy
- 9:56Speaker 1: Trinity Church never faces clap back like, but you talk
- 10:05Speaker 1: about love thy neighbor, You atheistic creeps that have nothing
- 10:12Speaker 1: better to do but storm a church. You are not
- 10:25Speaker 1: loving thy neighbor. And those who say free Palestine, it's
- 10:30Speaker 1: not about Palestine. It's about Jewish people. And Israelis that
- 10:37Speaker 1: you want to see. Unfortunately, you want to see them dead,
- 10:42Speaker 1: don't you. You just say a free palatine. But that's
- 10:46Speaker 1: not really your real aim, is it. So please media
- 10:52Speaker 1: don lemon never sympathize with these agitators, for they're doing
- 10:59Speaker 1: more harm than good. They are spewing hate speech at
- 11:06Speaker 1: the end of the day because they hate God and
- 11:14Speaker 1: they hate value systems. You know how I know that
- 11:19Speaker 1: because they're there midday any day, sparring with ice. People
- 11:27Speaker 1: who have a job are doing things better then that
- 11:31Speaker 1: have better things to do. And I'm normally for freedom
- 11:38Speaker 1: of speech, but it's become too accepting to attack the
- 11:42Speaker 1: religious institutions, and that's where I draw the line. And
- 11:48Speaker 1: throwing bricks at small mom and pop stores, that's where
- 11:54Speaker 1: I draw the line. So you want to condone this
- 12:00Speaker 1: kind of act of storming a church, then if someone
- 12:04Speaker 1: gets killed in the church or it's it's on your hands,
- 12:07Speaker 1: Attorney General Keith Ellison, It's on your hands. But here
- 12:14Speaker 1: are the one log up network. I stand for having
- 12:18Speaker 1: one leg up on loving thy neighbor, including those who
- 12:24Speaker 1: believe I'm we gotta change the frame here. The framing
- 12:30Speaker 1: is terrible because they're not saying what the Attorney General
- 12:37Speaker 1: of New York said, what the World President Queen said,
- 12:41Speaker 1: what Governor Hogele said about these hate filled people. They
- 12:52Speaker 1: don't want the best for Palestine. They just want to
- 12:55Speaker 1: interrupt a Jewish person's life in New York City. They
- 12:58Speaker 1: don't want the best for those being attacked being you know,
- 13:04Speaker 1: maybe attacked by Ice or rounding up wrongly by Ice.
- 13:07Speaker 1: They want to tear down law enforcement. They want to
- 13:13Speaker 1: make lives hell for the believers. They want to sow
- 13:19Speaker 1: chaos and the media and Keith Ellison is feeding into it. Well,
- 13:25Speaker 1: we're not going to and after all this yamoring by
- 13:28Speaker 1: Keith Ellison and Don Lemon, I watched the briefing by
- 13:34Speaker 1: President Trump about his first year in office, and here's
- 13:39Speaker 1: the line that stood out to me regarding and finally
- 13:44Speaker 1: some commentary on yeah, the roughness of Ice and the
- 13:48Speaker 1: Renee Good shooting.
- 13:51Speaker 3: And you know they're going to make mistakes. Sometimes Ice
- 13:53Speaker 3: is going to be too rough with somebody, or you
- 13:55Speaker 3: know they're dealing with rough people. Are they going to
- 13:58Speaker 3: make a mistake? Sometimes it can happened.
- 14:00Speaker 2: We feel terribly.
- 14:04Speaker 3: I felt horribly when I was told that the young
- 14:06Speaker 3: woman who was I had the tragedy. It's a tragedy.
- 14:12Speaker 3: It's a horrible thing. Everybody would say Ice would say
- 14:14Speaker 3: the same thing. But when I learned her her parents
- 14:20Speaker 3: and her father in particular, is like, I hope he
- 14:23Speaker 3: still is, but I don't know. Was a tremendous Trump fan.
- 14:27Speaker 3: He was all for Trump. I loved Trump. And you know,
- 14:33Speaker 3: it's terrible. I was told that by a lot of people.
- 14:36Speaker 3: They said, oh, he loves you. He he was. I hope,
- 14:40Speaker 3: I hope he still feels that way. And it's hard,
- 14:42Speaker 3: hard situation. But her father was a tremendous and parents
- 14:47Speaker 3: were tremendous Trump fans.
- 14:50Speaker 1: So there you go. That's the comment I was waiting
- 14:53Speaker 1: for for about a week and a half since the
- 14:56Speaker 1: Renee Good shooting happened from President Trump, and we got it.
- 15:01Speaker 1: So maybe we can leave our churches alone and our
- 15:03Speaker 1: synagogues alone and let people pray in peace. And that's
- 15:08Speaker 1: what we need right now, to have one log up
- 15:10Speaker 1: on the world. You have pray in peace.
