- 0:30[SPEAKER_00]: Y'all know how to do it, Jinjag.com.
- 0:32[SPEAKER_00]: So right now we are reviewing
- 0:35[SPEAKER_00]: PFF grades for the Jaguars 26 10 week one victory over the Carolina Panthers and this is not a show I particularly wanted to do but popular demand constantly get requests to review the PFF grades and so we're going to do that right here and right now.
- 0:55[SPEAKER_00]: I really appreciate you all being here.
- 0:57[SPEAKER_00]: If you enjoy the content, please like and subscribe.
- 0:59[SPEAKER_00]: We're starting off on the defensive side of the ball.
- 1:01[SPEAKER_00]: Foil, Louis can leads the way here.
- 1:04[SPEAKER_00]: You got Devon Lloyd with the second highest grade, Josh Hines Allen with the third highest grade Eric Murray, Dennis Gardeck, round out your top five.
- 1:12[SPEAKER_00]: The players who really stood out in a positive way defensively beyond that, Andrew Winger, Tyson Campbell, Jordan Lewis, and Travis Hunter.
- 1:20[SPEAKER_00]: So,
- 1:22[SPEAKER_00]: reviewing PFF grades, usually anything in the green is a very good score.
- 1:30[SPEAKER_00]: Dark blue, navy blue, roe blue, whatever you want to call that is elite, dark green or whatever color green you want to call that is very good.
- 1:42[SPEAKER_00]: play Luke and was incredible.
- 1:44[SPEAKER_00]: He had a forceful moment.
- 1:45[SPEAKER_00]: We've talked about that.
- 1:46[SPEAKER_00]: He had an interception as well, which was kind of like right place right time.
- 1:52[SPEAKER_00]: He still made the play.
- 1:53[SPEAKER_00]: He was really good against the run.
- 1:55[SPEAKER_00]: He made a bunch of tackles, led the team and tackles,
- 2:05[SPEAKER_00]: pretty pretty special day for foyer Luke and so very happy for him there, um, Devon Lloyd 22 snapped.
- 2:12[SPEAKER_00]: He split time with.
- 2:16[SPEAKER_00]: Ben Traumiller, who also had 16 snaps, but Devon Lloyd, per usual did really well.
- 2:21[SPEAKER_00]: PFF loves them some Devon Lloyd, and he's always been a very good run defender and tackler.
- 2:27[SPEAKER_00]: He had some opportunities to blitz, three opportunities to blitz in this one, and then on eight coverage reps, he did not allow a reception.
- 2:39[SPEAKER_00]: So very good day for Devon Lloyd.
- 2:45[SPEAKER_00]: pressures and we I reviewed the tape this morning.
- 2:48[SPEAKER_00]: Those seven pressures were highly impactful.
- 2:51[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, he was consistently
- 2:53[SPEAKER_00]: disrupting the timing and rhythm of passing place.
- 2:57[SPEAKER_00]: And anytime you can do that, it's gonna throw off the offense and it's gonna make it difficult for the quarterback to do anything.
- 3:04[SPEAKER_00]: And he was going against a backup, so he should thrive in that way in that matchup.
- 3:09[SPEAKER_00]: And he did, he did exactly what you wanted.
- 3:11[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, you'd like to get a sacrifice too, just for the numbers, but in terms of actually impacting the game, Josh Hines Allen was in a lead past Russia yesterday.
- 3:21[SPEAKER_00]: Eric Murray had a very good game overall.
- 3:23[SPEAKER_00]: He did have the one Miss Tackle that I think really brought his grade down.
- 3:28[SPEAKER_00]: That led to a touchdown for Chuba Hubbard.
- 3:31[SPEAKER_00]: Other than that, I thought Eric Murray was fantastic.
- 3:33[SPEAKER_00]: So good for him.
- 3:34[SPEAKER_00]: Dennis Gardeck played 17 defensive snaps.
- 3:38[SPEAKER_00]: And he's in that hybrid Sam roll on the ball, Russia slash off ball linebacker.
- 3:44[SPEAKER_00]: He did really well.
- 3:46[SPEAKER_00]: He had Tackle for a loss.
- 3:50[SPEAKER_00]: Shot into the backfield, had a pressure as well.
- 3:53[SPEAKER_00]: This is a really good addition for the Jaguar's defense.
- 3:56[SPEAKER_00]: Do we wingered what had a much better grade if his picks six didn't call, get called back and I believe Jordan Lewis was the culprit on that one, getting the holding defensive holding call.
- 4:06[SPEAKER_00]: Um, he did miss a tackle, two tackles it says.
- 4:10[SPEAKER_00]: I remember the one specifically against Xavier Leggett, but overall, do we win or had a solid game?
- 4:16[SPEAKER_00]: So good for him there.
- 4:18[SPEAKER_00]: It does say that he was targeted twice in coverage, but.
- 4:22[SPEAKER_00]: only gave up five yards.
- 4:23[SPEAKER_00]: So he will take that all day.
- 4:25[SPEAKER_00]: Tyson Campbell I thought had a really good game.
- 4:27[SPEAKER_00]: He was targeted a couple times where there were completions, but you know four targets in coverage, only 16 yards allowed.
- 4:35[SPEAKER_00]: That is very impressive overall for Tyson Campbell.
- 4:39[SPEAKER_00]: So, and a couple of those were like where they had this stupid off-coverage on third down, where you're given them a clear runway to get the first down.
- 4:46[SPEAKER_00]: Jordan Lewis was targeted six times in coverage and allowed 44 yards playing slot.
- 4:55[SPEAKER_00]: is difficult.
- 4:56[SPEAKER_00]: You're not going to have the best reception percentage numbers and all that type of stuff when you're playing the slot position.
- 5:04[SPEAKER_00]: You just have like consistently you're having a different three ways.
- 5:08[SPEAKER_00]: Inside, towards the boundary and up the field, it's the most difficult position to really succeed at corner just in terms of numbers, but
- 5:18[SPEAKER_00]: He still had a very good day overall well rounded day Jordan Lewis had in my opinion and then Travis Hunter We can look at him real quick He had six total defensive snaps three run defense three coverage.
- 5:32[SPEAKER_00]: He was solid overall They did not
- 5:37[SPEAKER_00]: credit that third down against him apparently.
- 5:41[SPEAKER_00]: There was a third down completion of TETERO and McMillan where they was in that off coverage, just like allowing the underneath stuff.
- 5:48[SPEAKER_00]: They did not put that against Travis Hunter.
- 5:50[SPEAKER_00]: So that's interesting.
- 5:52[SPEAKER_00]: I would have put him as the closest defender, I think.
- 5:54[SPEAKER_00]: But the other standout numbers here, Trayvon Walker didn't have a super impressive game as a past Russia.
- 6:01[SPEAKER_00]: I thought he did better than one pressure,
- 6:04[SPEAKER_00]: maybe it was a lot of creating push into the backfield, but not necessarily creating a pressure type of situations, had a good game against the room, but he was up against Taylor Moton, who's a really good right tackle.
- 6:15[SPEAKER_00]: I thought Trayvon Walker had a better game than this 55-grade would kind of suggest.
- 6:21[SPEAKER_00]: I thought Eric Armstead had a better game than this as well, 59.
- 6:25[SPEAKER_00]: I thought that he was impressive.
- 6:31[SPEAKER_00]: I do think it's probably fair to have Jari and Jones down here.
- 6:35[SPEAKER_00]: Did not have the best day against Tedero McMillan, but that's a really tough matchup.
- 6:39[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, Team Mac is super, super talented.
- 6:42[SPEAKER_00]: And then the three big interior run defenders, Devon Hamilton, Austin Johnson, Colin Sanders, all not getting good grades.
- 6:49[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think PFF knows how to grade interior defensive Lyman against the run, quite frankly, I've thought that for years.
- 6:57[SPEAKER_00]: That's my takeaway there.
- 6:59[SPEAKER_00]: You look at the offensive side of the ball.
- 7:03[SPEAKER_00]: We'll look at blocking real quick.
- 7:05[SPEAKER_00]: I thought the blocking department was pretty excellent other than the penalties, which have got to get cleaned up in a big way.
- 7:10[SPEAKER_00]: But on the place where they weren't committing penalties, all these guys did a really good job.
- 7:14[SPEAKER_00]: Robert Hainesy had a really good game at center.
- 7:17[SPEAKER_00]: He's there leader.
- 7:18[SPEAKER_00]: He's there captain on the offensive line.
- 7:20[SPEAKER_00]: I thought Anton Harrison was fantastic.
- 7:22[SPEAKER_00]: I thought he did a really good job in the run game.
- 7:24[SPEAKER_00]: He was actually the only starting offensive lineman I believed to not pick up a penalty in this game.
- 7:29[SPEAKER_00]: So, shout out to Anton Harris and who got pushed this off season by the coaching staff did a great job in this week one match up.
- 7:36[SPEAKER_00]: Lee Quint Allen had two past pro reps and not surprisingly did a very good job there.
- 7:41[SPEAKER_00]: Britain Strange was excellent both as a past blocker and run blocker.
- 7:45[SPEAKER_00]: He had a tremendous tremendous performance.
- 7:48[SPEAKER_00]: Johnny Munt did have that one penalty but he did a good job in the blocking department.
- 7:52[SPEAKER_00]: Walker little overall I thought had a pretty good game.
- 7:56[SPEAKER_00]: Patrick McCary outside of the one holding penalty had a good game, and then Ezra Cleveland.
- 8:02[SPEAKER_00]: three pressures allowed I would have to go back and look I don't think he had a bad game and you know overall the grade here is decent here for him so did not think he had a bad game Travis ETN had four pass pro reps did not allow a pressure so good for him there that that's good stuff overall the blocking was excellent other than the penalties so and then we'll just look at offense here
- 8:30[SPEAKER_00]: Or we can go rushing and we'll look at each one individually.
- 8:33[SPEAKER_00]: So rushing obviously, Travis ETN is the high mark there.
- 8:36[SPEAKER_00]: He had an amazing game.
- 8:37[SPEAKER_00]: We've talked about it a lot.
- 8:40[SPEAKER_00]: 5.75 yards after contact.
- 8:41[SPEAKER_00]: Three miss tackles forced.
- 8:43[SPEAKER_00]: He was a force.
- 8:45[SPEAKER_00]: Trevor Lawrence had some nice little
- 8:49[SPEAKER_00]: runs when he he needed to scramble and pick up some yards.
- 8:52[SPEAKER_00]: I thought he did a good job.
- 8:53[SPEAKER_00]: Tank bigs me overall.
- 8:54[SPEAKER_00]: I thought did fine even though he only had 2.4 yards per carry on five runs.
- 8:58[SPEAKER_00]: I didn't think he looked like he was having a hard time and he did pick up a big short yarded situation.
- 9:03[SPEAKER_00]: BTJ had the touchdown.
- 9:07[SPEAKER_00]: Run, on the end around, Diami Brown had a couple carries, didn't do a whole lot with it, but did pick up a first down early in the game, despite stumbling.
- 9:15[SPEAKER_00]: Lee Quint Allen did a good job on his one carry, and then I thought Bacial Tutan, not sure why he has such a low grade, honestly, I thought he did a really good job when he was in the game limited snaps.
- 9:26[SPEAKER_00]: And then receiving wise,
- 9:29[SPEAKER_00]: We've got hunter-long leading the way one catch for a touchdown.
- 9:32[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, that'll do it.
- 9:33[SPEAKER_00]: One catch, one target, one touchdown.
- 9:35[SPEAKER_00]: I can't beat that.
- 9:36[SPEAKER_00]: Britain's strange was the second highest graded receiver.
- 9:40[SPEAKER_00]: Four catches on four targets was picking up first downs.
- 9:43[SPEAKER_00]: Was everyone of his catches the first down?
- 9:45[SPEAKER_00]: Or did you have one that wasn't the first down?
- 9:48[SPEAKER_00]: Let's see here.
- 9:49[SPEAKER_00]: He had three first down, so one of them, yeah, I think one of those early ones was not a first down, but he had a great game, Travis E.T.
- 9:55[SPEAKER_00]: and Jr.
- 9:57[SPEAKER_00]: again, just doing work, did a good job in the past game.
- 10:01[SPEAKER_00]: Diami Brown targeted four times had three catches, one of those, he had one drop, which you see that here in the 36 drop grade.
- 10:11[SPEAKER_00]: But overall, he was a useful player for them.
- 10:14[SPEAKER_00]: Leak went Allen had one catch out of the backfield.
- 10:17[SPEAKER_00]: Travis Hunter, not gonna get great grades because, I mean, the routes he was running, he just wasn't getting upfield very often.
- 10:26[SPEAKER_00]: He did have one drop, did they credit him with that drop?
- 10:30[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, they did, they did credit him with that drop.
- 10:32[SPEAKER_00]: I would have considered it a drop as well.
- 10:34[SPEAKER_00]: It wasn't like an easy catch to make, but a catch that Travis Hunter usually makes.
- 10:39[SPEAKER_00]: So he should have had seven catches on eight targets.
- 10:42[SPEAKER_00]: That would have gotten him up to like 50 yards or so.
- 10:45[SPEAKER_00]: But overall, I thought Travis Hunter did fine.
- 10:46[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think a 54 grade is really warranted there.
- 10:49[SPEAKER_00]: Brian Thomas Jr.
- 10:50[SPEAKER_00]: again.
- 10:51[SPEAKER_00]: tough outing for him.
- 10:52[SPEAKER_00]: I thought Trevor Lawrence did not do him any favors.
- 10:55[SPEAKER_00]: He was credited with one drop that was on the screen.
- 10:57[SPEAKER_00]: There was a couple other plays where maybe he could have caught it or should have caught it.
- 11:00[SPEAKER_00]: A couple more plays where Trevor Lawrence didn't really give him a great chance.
- 11:04[SPEAKER_00]: So nothing too crazy there.
- 11:07[SPEAKER_00]: Trevor Lawrence ended up with 63 grade, 19 of 31 completion percentage of 61.
- 11:13[SPEAKER_00]: He had there was three drops, so, you know, adjusted completion percentage, exactly 78.6 and the drop percentage is 13.6.
- 11:22[SPEAKER_00]: That's that's way too high of a drop percentage.
- 11:25[SPEAKER_00]: The Jaguar's got to clean that up a little bit.
- 11:28[SPEAKER_00]: I thought he had some off-target passes as well that could have been better.
- 11:35[SPEAKER_00]: Overall, I mean, it was a fine game by Trevor, but nothing, nothing outstanding.
- 11:40[SPEAKER_00]: And if you take away the interception, which was a mistake by Trevor, he needed to put the ball out there a little bit in front of Travis Hunter, instead of where he put it, where he gave an opportunity to, to, to, JC Horn, excuse me, to go intercept that ball.
- 12:03[SPEAKER_00]: you had some guys making plays.
- 12:04[SPEAKER_00]: Let's see who led them in tackles.
- 12:07[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
- 12:07[SPEAKER_00]: You had Ray on Lane had a tackle and Jarring Jones had a tackle.
- 12:11[SPEAKER_00]: I thought Antonio Johnson was in on a tackle as well.
- 12:15[SPEAKER_00]: Let's look at kicking.
- 12:17[SPEAKER_00]: I think special teams was good outside of like the weird.
- 12:23[SPEAKER_00]: Kickoffs, but Camlittle was two of two on extra points four or four on field goals didn't have anything that was overly difficult But the kickoffs you got to figure that situation out.
- 12:33[SPEAKER_00]: What did we?
- 12:35[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I'm not sure why some of the kickoffs were so wonky, but and then punting wise Logan Cook They gave a 60.9 grade to he had one really really good punt and I think the other one was just more average But overall
- 12:51[SPEAKER_00]: good job by the special teams units and good performance by the Jaguar.
- 12:56[SPEAKER_00]: So now I'll do it for this PFF grade review for your Jaguar's week one win over the Carolina Panthers.
