- 27:50Environmental groups have filed lawsuits against the FAA.
- 27:53For approving the launch alleging that they Out to assess

- 29:18talking about what this actually means from NASA.
- 29:22And what SpaceX is capable of, and How this is going to change,
- 29:28space travel and space exploration forever, and how
- 29:33this can actually eventually turn into a thing that SpaceX
- 29:36could use for their Mars Transportation be a Starship.
- 29:42How you doing today? Neal I'm doing just great.
- 29:44How are you? I am doing.
- 29:46Fantastic. Thank you for asking.
- 29:48So the Starship going into low earth orbit, and it seems like
- 29:54SpaceX and NASA are working together to use this as some
- 29:58sort of Transportation Hub or some sort of space station in
- 30:03the near term. And do you think that's what
- 30:07they're looking at here? What we're looking at here?
- 30:10No, it's a very vague sort of approach that NASA is taking
- 30:13they're not saying build as a space station just saying, help
- 30:17us out in low earth orbit. Yeah.
- 30:21I so it's hard to say exactly what it is.
- 30:23They're expecting out of this. I've thought for my ever since
- 30:27the Starship became a thing that putting this huge object into
- 30:33space. The Starship which one Starship
- 30:36has more interior volume than the space station does right
- 30:38now, but you link three or four of those together and suddenly,
- 30:42you've got quite a bit of space up there to reactivities.
- 30:46Yeah, it'll be an interesting next few years for the Starship
- 30:51and for NASA, because eventually NASA will be the orbiting the
- 30:55International Space Station. What is it?
- 30:5720 30, I believe 2030 2032 or something.
- 31:01So, somewhere around there, always seems to be a flexible
- 31:03number. Yeah, that's it always seems
- 31:06like, I think they wanted to do it in 2026 at some point.
- 31:09Yeah. And then they think it's long as
- 31:10it's useful though. They're going to keep it going.
- 31:13But yeah, I think so too. I think as long as The taxpayers
- 31:17can pay for it. And as long as yeah, the they're
- 31:20seeing some returns from it. It's such an expensive thing to
- 31:23run. Every day to keep six people up
- 31:27there, it's just such an expense And everything in there is so
- 31:32outdated. At this point, the technology is
- 31:35advancing so fast. You're on Earth.
- 31:37That even something, they started building six years ago
- 31:40that got sent up there. Two years ago is so far beyond
- 31:45the technology right now that it almost becomes irrelevant.
- 31:51Yeah, and SpaceX is working currently on their starship
- 31:55program. And in the next, hopefully, we
- 31:58can see this in the next as Ilan, said six to eight weeks
- 32:01another launch of Starship. And when that happens, we'll see
- 32:05if it's actually going to be a possibility or feasibility.
- 32:08This will make it to orbit. And once it does make it to
- 32:11orbit these studies that SpaceX and NASA will be working
- 32:14together on could become a thing.
- 32:16And they have to work together to get SpaceX is Starship on to
- 32:20them. One as well for Artemis 3.
- 32:22So maybe this could be part of that because they need to dock
- 32:24with the Space X star ship in order to get to the moon.
- 32:30So as you say everything that he needs to do to help NASA here,
- 32:35they have to do for the moon as well.
- 32:36So it's going to be being built in sequence.
- 32:39I think in parallel I should say, yeah, they're going to be
- 32:43using super heavy which is the Starship program a dragon and
- 32:46starlink. So the dragon will more than
- 32:50likely be docking. With it.
- 32:51And I think the Polaris program will be using a dragon to duck
- 32:55with a Starship. I think what's going to happen
- 32:59is they're going to send a Starship to orbit.
- 33:00We're going to get it up there, then they're going to send the
- 33:02crew of Polaris program. In a capsule Dragon capsule on a
- 33:08falcon 9 in the dock with a Starship kind of mimicking.
- 33:11What they're going to be doing with the Starship in the Orion
- 33:13capsule. And then they're going to
- 33:16they're going to go inside the Starship and do some testing and
- 33:21do some science and some experimenting some engineering
- 33:24and see if it's actually feasible to live in one for a
- 33:27little bit and then do some more, some more testing inside
- 33:31and maybe outside of the Starship.
- 33:34So I think that's what they're thinking here.
- 33:38I'm not 100% sure but yeah it's very vague.
- 33:41It really is very vague this whole wording.
- 33:43I think they kept. That way.
- 33:45So I think so. So they can't be like this
- 33:48Starship is going to replace the International Space Station.
- 33:51Exactly. I think that would make a lot of
- 33:53companies, very angry, the blue Origins, the Axiom space, all
- 33:59these people would be very upset at that.
- 34:01So I think you keep it vague they're going to help us out.
- 34:05We're going to use their capabilities to further our
- 34:09goals that. Yeah.
- 34:11And maybe a goal happens to be a new space station perhaps.
- 34:14The new space station. Yeah.
- 34:15Maybe eventually they will. Maybe eventually they will turn
- 34:19a International Space Station. Turn it away, get rid of it, and
- 34:23then they'll put couple Starships together, even one
- 34:26Starship, he's a hunter. There's a thousand, cubic meters
- 34:29estimated, in terior volume of a Starship.
- 34:34Which if built right? Can hold for Earth to Earth
- 34:37transport. 100 people. According to Elon Musk more than
- 34:40likely for these kind of missions, that will be something
- 34:43similar to the International Space.
- 34:44Station where it's about six people.
- 34:47Maybe the Starship could hold a little bit more because the
- 34:50space station has 915 cubic meters of internal space and
- 34:56it's not that much different. It's 85 M3 different.
- 35:00So you could put some more supplies in this Starship but
- 35:03little yeah it's no the space in the state space station is more
- 35:09compartmentalize so it's more usable space.
- 35:11Yeah, than the Starship, which would be more open plan.
- 35:14An but obviously much probably much better for people's psyches
- 35:19as well. Yeah, I think so.
- 35:22Most of the renderings we've seen have has been a tube
- 35:27through the Middle with a ladder or some sort of Transport in the
- 35:29Middle where you can go from section to section but it's
- 35:32pretty wide open your the whole Starship and I think just people
- 35:37spend a year plus on the International Space Station and
- 35:41their segmented off doing their experiments.
- 35:43Don't see anybody maybe all day maybe throughout the day, they
- 35:46might see one or two people but if they maybe there's seven
- 35:51eight people. On a Starship.
- 35:52Maybe you can see all the way through the Starship while
- 35:54people are working. I think that would be really
- 35:56neat. I don't know if that's how it's
- 35:58going to ask me to. I think it would be a much more
- 36:01enjoyable atmosphere to even if you're not working with somebody
- 36:05that they happen to be across the nine meter gap between you
- 36:08and work on something else. And you can see them.
- 36:11I think that camaraderie gets built and then again, people can
- 36:14also get on your nerves. Much faster.
- 36:16Yeah, that's true. So obviously, when they select
- 36:20an astronaut, they Do a lot of psychological studies to make
- 36:23sure they're going to live and play well with others that we
- 36:25have to continue. Yeah.
- 36:29And sending 100 people and Starship to any long distances
- 36:32is really difficult to conceive of what are we talking 17?
- 36:3616, 17 people per sort of Our ship a fool.
- 36:42I can't imagine traveling. Very long distance.
- 36:44Stuck in the same room, my sort of bedroom, if you will the
- 36:48entire time, that would be very difficult because it wouldn't be
- 36:51much room for anything else. Yeah, that's true there.
- 36:55So the there's been talks of how many people could go on Mars.
- 37:01Ship to a from anywhere from six people to some.
- 37:06People were saying 30 people. There were some people that were
- 37:10saying upwards of 100 people to Mars.
- 37:14I don't think it's going to be 100 people.
- 37:15I think that's ridiculous. I think that's way too many.
- 37:18But I think if you have something like this, where
- 37:21SpaceX and NASA, Are working together low earth orbit, they
- 37:24can try different configurations for the long term, Mars
- 37:30transport because you could have two star ships docked together,
- 37:34what they're going to be doing with the refueling of the
- 37:36tankers for the art of his missions.
- 37:39Instead of a tanker you have just another Starship where
- 37:42people can float between the Starships there's a port and
- 37:45there could be a section where it's like a living section
- 37:48whereas just your workout, you sleep, there's Maybe Some
- 37:53entertainment, there's big windows and also there could be
- 37:56a variant where it's just cargo where there's just a touch, like
- 37:59so much food and you're going to have to bring a lot of water to
- 38:02Mars, or even to low earth orbit.
- 38:05So sure there's a possibility that's what they're going to be
- 38:08working on as well. It is going to take wish you
- 38:12were to happen really fast but space transport, space,
- 38:15technology, engineering and science.
- 38:18All take a long time. So what they're building now,
- 38:21maybe 50 years from now, Now, we'll see the ultimate gain of
- 38:26we're going to be taking normal trips to Mars.
- 38:29That there's going to be this numerous trips per year to get
- 38:33to Mars and I believe the next the closest that Mars is going
- 38:38to be to Earth is going to be 20 24.
- 38:41So maybe if Starship gets to orbit this year and then maybe
- 38:47next year, who knows maybe they're going to start trying to
- 38:51get to Mars Just Shoot a Starship.
- 38:54Yeah. Shoot a Starship without any
- 38:56intention of Landing it. Yeah.
- 38:58And just try to get into Mars orbit, or at least use the orbit
- 39:02slow you down so you could land if you wanted to.
- 39:04Yep. Obviously, that's the hardest
- 39:06part about any trip to Mars is making sure you hit the right
- 39:09spot so you don't burn up in the atmosphere or get slingshotted
- 39:13out into space bounce off the atmosphere, so it's very
- 39:17difficult to do and that's where the majority of things being
- 39:22shot. Shot at Mars fail.
- 39:24So it's they're going to have practice that for sure.
- 39:28Yeah. Right now they're practicing
- 39:29getting thing to orbit around Earth, which is comparatively
- 39:33way easier. So it's going to take some time
- 39:37and some, yeah, who knows? Who knows.
- 39:41We'll see what happens at the next star.
- 39:43Ship launched to see whether they actually get to orbit and
- 39:46there's no complications and destroy the pad.
- 39:48And if that all goes to plan, then yeah, I could potentially
- 39:53see them trying to stretch themselves.
- 39:55Obviously SpaceX is iterative design company and they're not
- 40:00afraid to say. Okay, we did it.
- 40:02Let's move on ship 15 was the first one to land.
- 40:05They didn't They're trying to land another one, they said,
- 40:08good let's move on. Yeah, I can see them getting to
- 40:12orbit and saying, good, let's move on I can see that too.
- 40:16Yeah, and saying okay we made the orbit.
- 40:19Now we need a tanker up there. Let's do that.
- 40:21Okay, now that's done. We don't need to do it a hundred
- 40:23times before they put people in this Starship.
- 40:26They'll have to do it a hundred times, but if they're just doing
- 40:29test, they're going to be happy with what they got and move on
- 40:32to the next challenge. Yeah.
- 40:34And even between the first launched in this next launch,
- 40:37it's coming up, they switched, I think it, I think Ilan said,
- 40:41hundreds of things, maybe a thousand things.
- 40:45Like that between the last Starship and a super heavy.
- 40:48And the next one that's going up.
- 40:50And one of the most important things is that it going to be
- 40:53doing hot staging between the booster in the ship, which is on
- 40:58a sold on that just yet but we'll see how it goes.
- 41:01Yeah, that seems like an incredible feat.
- 41:03I don't see that. A lot of Russian spacecraft have
- 41:06done that in the past, and it seems to be pretty pretty
- 41:09well-documented, but I think SpaceX could pull it off.
- 41:12I don't know if it's going to work this time.
- 41:14It's the first Trial and error. Exactly, right.
- 41:16This is all trial. This is all to be done to be
- 41:19determined that I have to. They'll figure it out.
- 41:22It's not impossible to just a matter of figuring out how to
- 41:25make their current build sustain that sort of blast as as they
- 41:32separate. Yeah, I've said, I'll need some
- 41:36way to exhaust the flame as it comes out.
- 41:38But also the top the Dome of the the booster is going to be have
- 41:43to withstand the all those agenda lighting as well.
- 41:47Yeah, I don't understand how they're going to do it.
- 41:49I don't really understand that technology that much but it
- 41:52seems like they have to reinforce like it's a stainless
- 41:55steel Dome on this thing so they have to reinforcing something.
- 41:59Yes. Yeah, it's not a thick stainless
- 42:01steel either. If they want to reuse these 100
- 42:05times. Yeah, so the really can't be any
- 42:08damage from this separation for this to be successful.
- 42:11I can't be any damage. It has to be 100% perfect if it
- 42:15starts to wear away from the Heat or there's any damage
- 42:19whatsoever, then it's unsuccessful.
- 42:20It's not going to be a long-term solution to fix it.
- 42:24So do you think this could be something like a for lack of a
- 42:26better term of Puck that they put on top of the booster?
- 42:29And they could replace it if needed.
- 42:31So it's not going to be a might not be one. 100% reusable right
- 42:35away but they could just use it. It's just for that one time.
- 42:39And then the next hamster is going to have a different pocket
- 42:42on it and it could do something like the heat tiles.
- 42:45Yeah they've got on the outside of the ship.
- 42:47They could plaster those over the top of the booster and use
- 42:50those as an abrading. Replaceable part.
- 42:56You have it, but it would take some time to inspect those every
- 42:59time that it lands. Yeah, that's true.
- 43:02It's similar to the Space Shuttle.
- 43:04So yeah, I think the I think we're going to see some wild
- 43:08stuff in this next Lodge but yeah the NASA and SpaceX
- 43:13collaboration here. With this space station is going
- 43:15to be a huge thing. In the funny thing is NASA is a
- 43:19government agency, and for forever.
- 43:23They've been using taxpayers money to do things like this,
- 43:25experiments like this, and fill McAllister, the director of
- 43:29commercial space flight at NASA. Uh said it is great to see
- 43:33companies invest their own Capital toward Innovative
- 43:35commercial space capabilities. We've seen how these types of
- 43:38Partnerships benefit both the private sector and NASA.
- 43:42So basically they're saying hey all of you companies out here,
- 43:47blue, origin, Northrop, Grumman, Sierra space SpaceX, special
- 43:50Aerospace Services, think orbital and fast space.
- 43:54You spend your money, you figure this out and then we're going to
- 43:57partner with you to use your technology in the future.
- 44:00We're going to pay for it. But you have to figure it out,
- 44:02like, you're going to have to have a minimum viable product,
- 44:05MVP. So we can use it for our own
- 44:08services for the future, whether that's a space station with
- 44:11SpaceX or if they're going to be using it.
- 44:13Of course, for hls and further missions but it's different than
- 44:19what it used to be for the longest time.
- 44:21It's very different. Absolutely and it's really as a
- 44:24great solution NASA puts so much money and effort into developing
- 44:30things like SOS and everything that came before it space
- 44:33shuttle and what not to have commercial companies, do all
- 44:38that research development and testing and then just pay them a
- 44:43bunch of money at the end ordering it as a sort of seed
- 44:47money. It's just so much easier for
- 44:49everybody as far as the government is concerned and a
- 44:54lot less risk as well. Yeah, and then your hand off
- 44:58that risk to private companies. Absolutely.
- 45:01It leaves so much more so much more room for NASA to play
- 45:06around with different ideas to. They don't have to stick with
- 45:08one thing, like the SLS. They're stuck with the SLS.
- 45:11They can't really diverge from that.
- 45:13And say, we're going to stop doing that.
- 45:15Because Starship works. Now, they have a contract, there
- 45:19are going to be building these SLS rockets for the foreseeable
- 45:21future and what Starship surpasses the SLS and
- 45:26technology. And And wait to orbit ratio to
- 45:30weight ratio to orbit, but they don't care because they have
- 45:33these contracts in place with Boeing and other companies.
- 45:36Northrop, Grumman Etc to build these SLS rockets and they can't
- 45:41change it. You know what I really like
- 45:43about the Condors commercial Partnerships is that someone
- 45:48would like SpaceX is going to pay for their materials.
- 45:53What they should be paying as opposed.
- 45:54What? NASA pays for materials.
- 45:56A screw NASA's paying for a screw might cost them, a hundred
- 45:59dollars of screw because the companies that are selling them
- 46:02that screw know that they can get away with it.
- 46:05Whereas SpaceX is saying we're not paying that will build a
- 46:08machine and make these for a dime apiece.
- 46:11If that's what you're going to bother charging us, it's a much
- 46:13more efficient from an economic standpoint, to have the
- 46:19commercial Partners, take care of all the stuff because they're
- 46:21not going to get overcharged the way NASA has traditionally been
- 46:25overcharged. Yeah, I think that's an
- 46:28important step forward for NASA, and a important step forward for
- 46:30these companies. Because not only do they get
- 46:33money for these initial projects but they can add things onto it
- 46:37eventually. So, SpaceX could say okay we
- 46:39have this Starship. We have a crew Starship but we
- 46:42can also make a space station Starship.
- 46:45Would you be interested in this space station NASA could be like
- 46:49yeah, we like that idea. That's a great idea.
- 46:52We're going to give you the money for it even if it's just a
- 46:55concept right now. But And SpaceX brought it to
- 46:58them in a capability in the capacity of like a commercial
- 47:03project, then they're going to paint like SpaceX is going to
- 47:06pay for it and then NASA will pay them whatever SpaceX wants
- 47:11to charge them. So for sure, I think it's going
- 47:14to be a huge boost to the low earth orbit economy but also the
- 47:19economy of these space exploration as well.
- 47:22Yeah, and keep in mind, as well as SpaceX has never had any
- 47:26interest in space stations. Well, yeah, a little bit beyond
- 47:29Starling. So this that would be a change
- 47:33of tune and would have to come with a obviously, a big check
- 47:35behind it them to do something like that or they see some
- 47:38benefit in having a station in orbit and they're willing to
- 47:41work with NASA to get one does, is it a good starting off point
- 47:45for a mission to Mars or something like that?
- 47:48To have all the tankers take, all their fuel there and then
- 47:51you dr. Ship.
- 47:52They're in lingerie from there. They have to determine whether
- 47:55that makes sense or not. Yeah, I guess the tankers in
- 47:59space, will eventually resemble or serve the same purpose as
- 48:04that space station right? Just having a ship in space.
- 48:07That's gets refueled to refuel another space ship.
- 48:12That's a space station right there.
- 48:15Yeah. Very basic one.
- 48:16Yeah. - the people yeah. But yeah.
- 48:19I also think that if SpaceX does make some sort of space station
- 48:24out of the Starship, they can charge rent to NASA.
- 48:26And that could be recurring income for SpaceX.
- 48:29If they can see the ROI on a Starship that's in orbit and
- 48:33they can make x amount of dollars per year from it to
- 48:36continue development of better, Starships.
- 48:39Mars Starships, ground systems infrastructure, whatever.
- 48:43If it's going to pay for part of the development of these new
- 48:46systems or even starlink, then that might be something that you
- 48:50would be interested in. Is it seems?
- 48:52I wouldn't say free money because they still have to have
- 48:54people manning the Eames and fixing up the ships and stuff as
- 48:59time goes by. But once the, once the ships are
- 49:03decommissioned, they could, in theory outfit, the ships with I
- 49:10don't know, like I wouldn't, I don't want to say plug and play,
- 49:12but it could be a very compartmentalized systems that
- 49:15they could take out of one Starship and put into a newer
- 49:18Starship. And it could be really easy to
- 49:21transfer those things because the docking mechanism is for the
- 49:24hls Starship. It's pretty big if you think
- 49:28about not the docking, the elevator systems is pretty big,
- 49:32so maybe that could be as part of the docking system, it could
- 49:35be big enough that they could transfer a people and be
- 49:38supplies from one Starship to So decommission one, take it back
- 49:43down to earth refurb, it do whatever you got to do and then
- 49:47upgrade your Starship to a new one.
- 49:48And it seems like you could have a, you can have a space station
- 49:51forever in that case, for sure, the beauty of Starship has from
- 49:56day one has been its cost. Effectiveness, it's extremely
- 50:00relatively extremely cheap to make.
- 50:03And two, they could put up another one on a moment's notice
- 50:07at some point, right? Replace a part that of a ship
- 50:10that is malfunctioning can bring it back down.
- 50:12What? Not as you say before, there's a
- 50:14lot of other companies that are involved in this partnership
- 50:18with NASA. So it's SpaceX is just one part
- 50:20of that. There's all kinds of ship of
- 50:22companies that would be doing similar things with them and for
- 50:25them Yeah, blue origin, the project.
- 50:29The blue origin is going to be used for this.
- 50:31NASA Liberation is integrated commercial space Transportation
- 50:35capability than ensure safe, affordable and high frequency
- 50:37u.s. access to orbit for crew and other missions.
- 50:41That just does that mean that they're going to be using a
- 50:44rocket to get to low earth. Orbit the commercial space.
- 50:48Transportation is the taxi as sounds like it.
- 50:50Yeah. Or at least one of the taxis.
- 50:52Yeah, sure. And nothing.
- 50:55It really says, nothing else. It says other missions, whatever
- 50:58that means, but it doesn't really give them anything else.
- 51:01There's no other harder piece of this future, NASA space that
- 51:06they get out of this. You're ferrying people back and
- 51:10forth. Yeah, Sierra space.
- 51:12It is looks similarly, to develop Sierra's got Sierra gets
- 51:16the in space superstructure as well.
- 51:19They're actually primed for that next Generation space station.
- 51:24So they get the space transportation in spaced
- 51:27infrastructure and tailored space facilities to provide a
- 51:31human or a presence in orbit. They are really the space
- 51:34station. Provided that they can meet all
- 51:38of their deadlines and what I'm be honest at that.
- 51:40Point SpaceX, seems like they're in the wings.
- 51:43I'm Casey are can't provide what they need and they could work
- 51:46together. This is collaborative, efforts,
- 51:48SSO. Anyone has everything that goes
- 51:51up into space, needs to work with together.
- 51:53Yeah, Universal locks and Universal.
- 51:55Listen Universal that you can't have anything that is
- 51:58proprietary. When you talk about NASA and
- 52:00space, it's all got to work together.
- 52:05Yeah, so one that's very interesting is vast and this is
- 52:09some cool wording collaborating with NASA and Technologies and
- 52:12operations required for its microgravity and artificial
- 52:16gravity stations includes the Haven one, which will provide a
- 52:19microgravity environment for career research, and in space
- 52:22manufacturing, the first crewed mission called vast 12.
- 52:25The platform development activities.
- 52:27First, larger space station modules will also take place out
- 52:29of the space act agreement. So artificial gravity stations T
- 52:35sci-fi, if you ask me, that's very sci-fi, that's rotating
- 52:39stations for sure. Yeah.
- 52:40And that'll take it would be able 30 years.
- 52:42Yeah, it'll be cool. They're going to have to, I
- 52:45think what they'll do is they'll set up a smaller.
- 52:49Version of we can have to incrementally, send up, smaller,
- 52:52medium, large, Etc, anti-gravity, artificial not
- 52:57anti, but artificial gravity stations.
- 52:59Anti-gravity would be wild but artificial gravity, station
- 53:03proof of concept is was one of the first things, right?
- 53:05You got to get up there and prove that it's going to work
- 53:07in. It's going to be able to be
- 53:08stable and and what do people how do people react in that
- 53:12situation? We don't actually know.
- 53:14I we can guess based on experience that we've done on
- 53:17Earth was spinning people around.
- 53:18Circle. But how long term effects of
- 53:22somebody being spun and just observing around them, right?
- 53:27This part of the station is spinning slower than that, part
- 53:29of the station, and it's all curved.
- 53:31And how does that affect somebody?
- 53:33Yeah, curious to see. Yeah.
- 53:36And they're going to be a go ahead go.
- 53:37No please, alright, believe they're going to be using
- 53:40Starship as a transportation system.
- 53:42For the vast one as well for the Haven one.
- 53:45So to get it up there. Yeah.
- 53:47Yes. They're going to be using, I
- 53:49believe this Falcon 9. Yeah.
- 53:52So they can be doing the Haven one on the Falcon 9 in, then I
- 53:55can be using the Starship eventually to.
- 53:57So it's pretty cool there already.
- 54:00I'll get be collaborating with each other and also NASA.
- 54:02So going to be it's good. That's going to happen in 20 25.
- 54:055. So yeah.
- 54:07August 20, 25. Apparently that's going to be
- 54:11pretty soon. Yeah, couple years from now.
- 54:15Yeah. And the other ones we haven't
- 54:17talked about are the ones that kind of interest me quite a bit
- 54:20Northrop, Grumman and space Aerospace Services.
- 54:23Special are Pacers Aerospace services and think orbital our
- 54:27old on the robotic side of things.
- 54:29That's getting things up there to build stations and to
- 54:32manufacture things and not put people.
- 54:35One danger of getting lost in space or being subject to being
- 54:39out in space with the radiation whatnot.
- 54:41So it's I'd like that side of it as well.
- 54:44Curious, just see how that develops.
- 54:48So that the Northrop Grumman the persistent platform to ride
- 54:52autonomous and robotic capabilities for commercial
- 54:55science research and Manufacturing capabilities and
- 54:58low earth orbit, the manufacturing capabilities part
- 55:00of that is pretty cool. I'm interested to see what they
- 55:03do if they're going to 3D print things or if they're going to be
- 55:07doing this, take parts from Earth like to say, beams and
- 55:11trusses and pieces and then put them together robotically.
- 55:16I don't know what the actual Is they don't have any more
- 55:18information about it but it seems like that would be
- 55:21something that they could do up there as many manufacture parts
- 55:24of a station or parts of something with robot.
- 55:27Yeah, that's the dream. We always see, right?
- 55:29We always see in the future of the Sci-Fi things are being
- 55:31built right in space. You've got your sort of space
- 55:34dock where the ship is being built in place up and space
- 55:38around in Earth's orbit and that would be cool to see something.
- 55:41I was when I was a kid, I was really fascinated by space
- 55:44welding. We put two pieces of Steel
- 55:47together that are perfectly flat and as soon as they go together,
- 55:52there's nothing stopping them from joining.
- 55:54So it's a weld that just happens because there the molecules just
- 55:58passed from one piece of metal to the other.
- 56:00Oh wow, there's nothing stopping them.
- 56:02There's no there's no Oxygen. There's nothing in the way.
- 56:05These molecules just passing from one piece to the next and
- 56:08it joins pretty cool. Like might have that wrong.
- 56:10It's been a long time since I looked into that, but that was
- 56:13one thing when I was a kid. Be cool.
- 56:16That would be wild. That would open up so many, so
- 56:19many doors to stations and architecture and space.
- 56:24That's cool. That's really cool.
- 56:25I never, I need even know about that space welding after look
- 56:28into that. That's cool.
- 56:29I'm going to look it up again to I could be totally wrong via
- 56:32completely ridiculed but that's okay.

- 56:44you'd like to? Talk about Santos, we talked
- 56:46about Sierra space but you didn't get to talk about special
- 56:49Aerospace Services much, but they all do the same kind of
- 56:52thing. Special airspace Services is
- 56:54taught is looking at autonomous maneuvering units, astronaut
- 56:57assistance units. So it's all servicing the
- 57:00station outside helping astronauts as well as perhaps
- 57:04doing autonomous work as well to keep things running.
- 57:07Keep it serviced. If somebody drops a hammer, this
- 57:10thing can go and get it rather than astronaut having to risk
- 57:13something or it. Being one more piece of space
- 57:16junk maybe they're out there collecting that stuff as well.
- 57:18That would be really cool to see ya and then think orbital
- 57:23similar to just another piece of a space station but they do the
- 57:27orbital platforms and research manufacturing astronaut missions
- 57:32that sort of thing. So it's building stuff in space.
- 57:35Building more things on there. So there's the, the autonomous
- 57:40Builders if you will, this is really cool to see and it'll be
- 57:45interesting to see how these all work together as well.
- 57:48Can they can blue origin and SpaceX sit down in the same room
- 57:51and figure out the best way to move Humanity forward.
- 57:55Wouldn't that be nice? That would be really cool.
- 57:58I think all of these companies working together, building
- 58:00platforms, and building stations, and sending things,
- 58:04they're going to be working together in buying trips to
- 58:07space. From different company, blue
- 58:09origin, or through SpaceX or through Sierra space.
- 58:13If they need to send something up, there they're going to be
- 58:16working together to send part of their scent.
- 58:19Part of their space station are part of part of their platforms
- 58:23up there. So it'll be an interesting time
- 58:26for all of these companies to work together and also to work
- 58:30with NASA, and they're going to be using NASA's technology.
- 58:33They're going to be using NASA's capabilities to innovate in
- 58:36space and All of the stuff that NASA has learned throughout
- 58:41their time with the International Space Station, and
- 58:43through their time with the Apollo programs and the space
- 58:46shuttle, all of that, all of these companies can use that to
- 58:50better their platforms to. So it's going to be really cool.
- 58:54Very exciting. Yeah, I hope that's the next 20
- 58:56or 30 years is going to be very interesting space field and
- 59:00hopefully Humanity still around. So, take advantage of it.
- 59:03Yeah, I think we will be. I think there's we're not going
- 59:06to stop. I think this is going to be a
- 59:07really cool. Interesting time.
- 59:09This is the stuff that I dreamed of when I was a kid like, for
- 59:12sure like this it's finally coming true that we're going to
- 59:15people are going to start building their own space
- 59:18stations, that companies are going to start building their
- 59:19own private space stations, who knows eventually will be The
- 59:24point where there's going to be a private mission to another
- 59:27star system like Prometheus or something like that, show the
- 59:31movie Prometheus except maybe they won't be bringing DNA down
- 59:34to earth, and dumping it into a river.
- 59:36Be a little bit different, but it's going to it's going to be
- 59:40wild in the next 20. 30 years. What happens up there because
- 59:44not only is it spacex's all these other companies that want
- 59:46to make money and they get they make billions of dollars per
- 59:50year from NASA and also from each other.
- 59:51So it's going to be cool. Can't wait to see it happen.
