- 2:33I ordered these jerseys in another country.
- 2:36All right, I order these fresh new look jerseys for this show.
- 2:40I only wear them for these shows.
- 2:43And I usually get usually loudmouth or the mouth on the
- 2:47back of it. And I told this company I do not
- 2:51want #30 and Steph Curry, I said that do not send me a Curry
- 2:57jersey. And what did they do?
- 2:59They sent me a Stephen Curry jersey.
- 3:03So I'm wearing, wearing a very sexy Warriors jersey.
- 3:07I, I love it. I'm one of my favorite colors is
- 3:09orange. Purple and orange are my two
- 3:11favorite colors. And I was like, I was so
- 3:13excited. I saw it in the mail and I said,
- 3:15hey, wait, I got, I'm going to get a chance to wear that fresh
- 3:18orange Warrior jersey. And then I open it up before the
- 3:22show and I'm like, oh, this is fresh.
- 3:25And I turn it around and has Curry #30 I was absolutely
- 3:29pissed off. But hey, you know what?
- 3:31It's not an ugly jersey. Steph Curry is a great player,
- 3:35so I'm not going to complain. I I do like it, but they better
- 3:38send me my jersey. I want my #63 the mouth jersey.
- 3:42Jabba, what's up, man? Not what's going on.
- 3:48I'm just trying to figure, do you have a problem over there?
- 3:52Yeah, It's, it's a day. It's, it's just Nebraska.
- 3:55It's the weather over there. Maybe it's just like rainy and
- 3:57disgusting, like it's been all day for us.
- 4:00It went from sunshine in the morning to rain to sunshine
- 4:03again, to rain again. It doesn't make any sense here
- 4:06in Long Island, New York. And if you live here on the
- 4:09island, you live in New York, you honestly can't bet on the
- 4:13weather. And the weather people, They're
- 4:15you have these beautiful women. They're standing right in front
- 4:18of the cameras showing you what the weather is going to be.
- 4:20And you see these weird guys standing there with their fresh
- 4:23haircuts and they're nice suits and they're nice beautiful dies
- 4:27stand there and tell you, hey, the weather is 60% going to rain
- 4:31or 60% it's going to be 75°. Ladies and gentlemen, they're
- 4:3575% usually wrong. So if you ever want to go and
- 4:40check out the weather, do not watch the news broadcast.
- 4:44I'm telling you right now, they're horrible.
- 4:45I would I would want to be a meteorologist.
- 4:47They don't have to be right to still get paid.
- 4:49That's well, they get paid a lot of money.
- 4:51I know, I know a meteorologist that makes over 150 KA year and
- 4:57all she does probably three times a week is speak on a
- 5:02television camera for about 7 to 8 minutes.
- 5:06That's what she does and she gets paid 150 K.
- 5:09She just has to look good. She wears her nice sexy outfits
- 5:12and she's all ready to impress all her managers, her directors
- 5:16or her producers, whoever. Yeah, we have a great show lined
- 5:19up for you guys. Tampa Bay Buccaneers came back
- 5:22late in the fourth quarter to beat the Houston Texans 20 to 19
- 5:27to improve to two and O on the season.
- 5:29The Bucks quarterback Baker Mayfield LED an 11 play 80 yard
- 5:34game-winning touchdown Dr. scoring with six seconds left in
- 5:39the game. The Buccaneers dominated on the
- 5:42ground, gaining over 169 yards at 5.6 yards a clip between
- 5:48Mayfield, who scrambled for 33 yards, and running backs Bucky
- 5:53Irvin, who's fantastic, and Rashad White, who scored the
- 5:57game-winning touchdown. Rookie wide receiver A Mecca
- 6:01Hold on Egg Buca scored another touchdown, his third in the
- 6:06first two games of this season and his career.
- 6:10The Texans fall to zero and two and have now allowed nine sacks
- 6:15in the first two games while being one of only, I'm sorry,
- 6:20one of the only three teams that don't have 100 yard receiver so
- 6:25far this season. Since 1990, only 12% of the
- 6:28teams that have started O and two have made the playoffs, but
- 6:33the Texans did pull that off in 2023, CJ Stroud's rookie year.
- 6:38The Chargers also improved to two and O with a 20 to 9 win
- 6:43over the Raiders in the second game of a Monday night
- 6:46doubleheader. Justin Herbert had 200 and 42
- 6:49yards and two touchdowns and is third in passing yards and 2nd
- 6:54in passing touchdowns to begin the season.
- 6:57Geno Smith struggled greatly, going 24 for 43 for 180 yards
- 7:03and three picks. Since 2022, Gino's Gino leads
- 7:08the entire NFL with 39 interceptions.
- 7:10Ashton Gente's slow start is still a concern.
- 7:14I don't know about that, as he had just 11 carries for 43 yards
- 7:19and three catches for just one receiving yard in the game.
- 7:23He is averaging only 2.7 yards per carry two games into his
- 7:28rookie campaign. I want to go into the first
- 7:32game, the Buccaneers and and the reason why I want to get into it
- 7:34because I I stand for a lot when it comes to a guy like Baker
- 7:39Mayfield. Baker Mayfield is a guy that is
- 7:42one of my favorite players in the NFLI.
- 7:44Love watching him play, his personality, the passion that he
- 7:47has to play the game. And when he went to the
- 7:50Buccaneers, there were a lot of questions over there with the
- 7:53Buccaneers taking over for a guy like Tom Brady, a team that won
- 7:56a Super Bowl, and Baker Mayfield.
- 7:58Really after you left the Browns, he jumped from one team
- 8:01to another and, and, and finally found a place that he felt more
- 8:05comfortable in and had the weapons to succeed.
- 8:09Todd Bowles is the defensive coordinator.
- 8:12He took over the job over Bruce Arians and, and a lot of people
- 8:16question Todd Bowles because Todd Bowles failed with the New
- 8:20York Jets. He was there for what, 3 1/2
- 8:22years and then was fired. And, and you look at Todd
- 8:25Bowles, we know what he is as a football player is one of the
- 8:28best safeties of the 80s, late 80s and early 90's.
- 8:31The guy was just superb type of defensive type of player.
- 8:36But over the years, Todd Bowles as a defensive coordinator has
- 8:40really succeeded under Bruce Arians.
- 8:42Nobody really believed that this guy can succeed as a head coach.
- 8:47But over the last two and a half, three seasons, he's really
- 8:50developed a good understanding on success in the NFL and in a
- 8:56division that the Buccaneers are in, where you don't really have
- 8:59to worry about much. I mean, you have the Carolina
- 9:01Panthers trying to rebuild with a new coach in Canales.
- 9:05You have the Atlanta Falcons that have a new coach and have a
- 9:08rookie quarterback. You understand that the position
- 9:13that the Buccaneers are in every single year is to win the
- 9:16division. Mike Evans is a borderline Hall
- 9:20of Famer. This is a team that has a great
- 9:23running game. And Irving, who I think is a
- 9:26sensational running back, I have them.
- 9:28Bucky Irving is one of my my guys are one of my fantasy
- 9:31teams, one of my first picks of the first two rounds.
- 9:34He's a sensational player that really transitioned as an NFL
- 9:39player last year. When you look at the Buccaneers,
- 9:43you try to question what this team really is.
- 9:47Are they an offensive sound team or are they a defensive sound
- 9:49team? Usually one team is stronger
- 9:54than the other at a certain side, offensive or defensive
- 9:58side. But with the Buccaneers, I think
- 10:03they're strong on both sides of the ball.
- 10:06I think they have one of the best offensive tackles in the
- 10:09league and worth. I think he's as good as anybody
- 10:12in the league. He's proven to be.
- 10:14If he could stay healthy, the guy is unbelievable.
- 10:18Their defense front 7 is one of the best in the league.
- 10:22They put a lot of pressure. They got good strong safety
- 10:25play. Even their corners are pretty
- 10:26good. Then you need those weapons.
- 10:31You have the running backs in White and Irving, like I was
- 10:33just saying. You have the wide receivers and
- 10:36Evans who has stuck out. Now there's another wide
- 10:39receiver that needs to get healthy.
- 10:40But we're watching a nice young player in a Mecca IGBUCA really
- 10:47start to flourish as a young wide receiver in the NFL.
- 10:52He needed to be #2 this year because of the injuries that the
- 10:55Buccaneers usually have in the beginning of the season.
- 10:58And he hasn't disappointed. And, and the crazy thing about
- 11:02the Buccaneers is I don't know if they have to chase because
- 11:07they're in such a poor division. It might be the worst division
- 11:10in football. You argue maybe the AFC East is
- 11:13that bad too. So I, I, I could go back and
- 11:16forth because I'm a Jet fan and the AFC East is just not good
- 11:19right now. New England's not good, Miami's
- 11:21not good. The Jets are not good.
- 11:24The only team really is good in that division is Buffalo.
- 11:26Buffalo looks like they're going to run away with that division.
- 11:31The fact is, when I look at the NFC, we talk about the
- 11:35powerhouses, we talk about the Eagles, we talk about the ramps.
- 11:40That's what we talk about. We talk about the commanders, We
- 11:43talk about the North, where you could go with the Lions, the
- 11:47Green Bay Packers, the Vikings. Doesn't look like Chicago's
- 11:51going to be any good. You look at the Buccaneers and
- 11:55do the Buccaneers really stick out like a sore thumb like the
- 11:58teams I just mentioned? The answer would be no.
- 12:01Because if you look at the quarterback play, a lot of
- 12:03people will look at Baker Mayfield as a mediocre
- 12:06quarterback. But over the last two seasons,
- 12:11especially in the second-half of games, Baker Mayfield is one of
- 12:16the best second-half quarterbacks in all of the NFL.
- 12:19If you look at the numbers, numbers don't lie.
- 12:22And Baker really stands for a lot more than just a football
- 12:27player. He's a guy that was always
- 12:29undersized. He was a guy that was always
- 12:32looked at as a troublemaker playing for Oklahoma.
- 12:37He was a guy that a lot of people question, was he a first
- 12:42round draft pick? And the fact that the Browns
- 12:46took a chance that year where you had a bunch of quarterbacks,
- 12:51you had Josh Allen, right? Am I right?
- 12:55Lamar Jackson, Sam Darnold, you would have thought that Baker
- 13:02Mayfield probably falls in the second round.
- 13:07But when you look at that quarterback class and you look
- 13:11at Josh Allen and Lamar Jackson, who are obviously the two top
- 13:15three quarterbacks, 2 of the top three quarterbacks in the
- 13:17league, Baker Mayfield now has become a top ten quarterback.
- 13:21You could argue Baker Mayfield could be a top seven
- 13:24quarterback. Now you look at that draft class
- 13:27where you thought Sam Darnold or Rosen, we're going to be those
- 13:32type of quarterbacks. Sam Darnold, he's a borderline
- 13:36decent quarterback. He had a great season last year
- 13:39with the Minnesota Vikings. Now he's playing for Seattle and
- 13:42he's chasing. Rosen's not even in the NFL
- 13:45anymore if you look at Lamar Jackson.
- 13:49Lamar Jackson is a two time, two time MVP and could be three time
- 13:55after this year. Josh Allen wins his first MVP
- 13:59last year. Baker Mayfield has never been
- 14:03looked at as an MVP type of player, but what makes him an
- 14:07NVMVP type of player to me is the way he his team perceives
- 14:13him to be when he steps on that field.
- 14:16This guy is a leader. He's a born leader.
- 14:18You can see that every single teammate follows this guy, win
- 14:24or lose. Nobody speaks bad about this
- 14:27guy. Nobody speaks bad about Baker
- 14:29Mayfield. And that to me, makes me wonder,
- 14:36can Tampa surprise the NFC this year and come out of the NFC?
- 14:43Everybody keeps talking about Green Bay and the Eagles and the
- 14:46Rams with Sean McVay and the talent defense that they have,
- 14:50the Eddie Devante Adams, they have Matthew Stafford, who's won
- 14:52a Super Bowl, They have Puka Nakua.
- 14:58Can the Buccaneers with the defense they have and if they
- 15:00can get healthy, can they come out of the NFC and surprise the
- 15:06NFC and the Super Bowl gods as we say?
- 15:11And I would say yes, I think they can.
- 15:14I really do. I think they have everything to
- 15:18win and come out of the NFCI. Don't know about top balls.
- 15:21I don't know if he's a Super Bowl champion, but I've said
- 15:24that about Kyle Shanahan and Kyle Shanahan's taking taking
- 15:28his team to a Super Bowl 2 times and was an offensive coordinator
- 15:34for the Atlanta Falcons after choking against the New England
- 15:37Patriots. They have the opposite clock
- 15:39management issues. I think Todd Bowles can, is very
- 15:42capable, very capable of taking his team to a Super Bowl.
- 15:47And remember, he was the defensive coordinator of the
- 15:50Super Bowl champion Buccaneers. So yes, I think they could.
- 15:54And then when you get a chance to watch the Texans this year, I
- 15:59mean, I there's a lot of problems for the Texans.
- 16:03They decided to part ways with their offensive, their number
- 16:06one offensive tackle in the offseason.
- 16:08They traded them away. Now I understand he was
- 16:11expensive, but that offensive line anchored from him and they
- 16:18decided to part ways with him and trade him and you could see
- 16:21this offensive line. This is arguably one of the
- 16:24worst offensive lines right now in football.
- 16:28One player has changed CJ Strout and is understanding how to move
- 16:35inside and outside of the pocket and make high school throws.
- 16:42CJ Stroud has made a lot of mistakes so far this year and
- 16:45when you hear these numbers as we pulled out in the monologue
- 16:49is he doesn't have one wide receiver that's broken over 100
- 16:53yards yet this year. And you've got some good young
- 16:58players like Nico Collins. Everybody thought Nico Collins
- 17:03was going to be a top five wide receiver in a league and the guy
- 17:07hasn't broken over 70 yards yet. And that, ladies and gentlemen,
- 17:12is a problem. They don't have a running game.
- 17:15They're betting on a guy that just came back from another
- 17:17major injury in Chubb. They have nothing that I believe
- 17:24to get this team to sneak into the playoffs in an AFC that is
- 17:30especially a division that everybody thought they were
- 17:32going to run away with. The Colts are the best team in
- 17:36that division. I don't even think you could
- 17:39argue that anymore. The Jaguars, you know, the
- 17:43Jaguars are the Jaguars. That division is going to be won
- 17:49and ruled by one team, the Daniel Jones Indianapolis Colts,
- 17:54because there's no way the Texans, with their schedule, the
- 17:57way it's set up and the way this offensive line is played in the
- 18:01first two games, is going to win more than six games.
- 18:06There's no way. Just think about this.
- 18:09Everybody was talking about their coach winning coach of the
- 18:11year last year. This was one of the best teams
- 18:16in the AFC last year and now deciding to part ways with their
- 18:23starting offensive tackle, it's ruined everything for them.
- 18:27It's put them in a bad situation and that's what stands out to
- 18:32me. It was the battle of two teams,
- 18:35one team that could be a contender and another team that
- 18:38is a pretender. They have been a pretender
- 18:41before. The season started because I
- 18:43drafted CJ Stroud as my second quarterback.
- 18:47I saw that CJ Stroud last year was a top seven quarterback in
- 18:52fantasy. This year he fell out of the
- 18:53top. He fell out of the top ten.
- 18:55Why? And now I'm starting to realize
- 18:58that. Lermi Tonsil, what's the reason
- 19:01why? Think about it, The guy that was
- 19:02smoking weed during the first round of the draft that
- 19:06everybody was questioning if this guy's going to be an NFL
- 19:09player. That is the guy that is affected
- 19:12the offseason and that is the guy that's affected this Texan
- 19:16team to succeed. So, I mean, it's crazy to think
- 19:21this and the Buccaneers 2 and O guess where they're going?
- 19:25They're heading home against who?
- 19:26The New York Jets. What are the chances The Jets
- 19:30are going to pull out a win against a team that is starting
- 19:33to figure out what their identity is 2 games into the
- 19:37season and they're still they're still not even at full strength.
- 19:41Think about that. They're arguably their second
- 19:45best wide receiver is still out and might not be back until Game
- 19:506 or game eight. They don't even know when he's
- 19:53coming back yet. Think about it.
- 19:57That's how good this team could be.
- 20:00And, and by the way, they have a pretty good tight end as well.
- 20:03So I mean, Baker Mayfield. I love what Baker had to say
- 20:06after the game. He said this team's never out.
- 20:09We believe we can win every game, doesn't matter how far we
- 20:12fall behind. We believe in each other.
- 20:14We believe in our coaches, we believe in what we can do on a
- 20:18football field and we believe we can compete with any team in the
- 20:22NFL. And then there's the Chargers.
- 20:27I believe Jim Harbaugh is one of the best coaches and has been
- 20:33one of the best coaches in professional football and
- 20:36college football for the last 10 years.
- 20:38You saw what he did with Stanford.
- 20:41You saw what he did with San Francisco taking over for
- 20:44Singletary. You saw what he did for Michigan
- 20:50finally winning a national championship.
- 20:52Did he cheat? Everybody cheats.
- 20:56The Chargers last year under the helm of Jim Harpo, remember, he
- 21:01took over a team and and a a bunch of players that were not
- 21:04his guys. They were not his guys.
- 21:08He inherited Slater, who by the way is not healthy.
- 21:11He inherited Justin Herbert, by the way, last year wasn't
- 21:14healthy. This team with the weapons they
- 21:19have, adding back Allen, you see the difference in what Allen
- 21:23gives to Justin Herbert. It gives him a blanket, a guy
- 21:26that he trusts in the open field need be.
- 21:29He needs to make a play. He's getting the ball to Keenan
- 21:32Allen and they have one of the best tackles we have seen in a
- 21:39very long time. And Alt taking over for Slater
- 21:42is out for the season. You just paid Slater in the
- 21:45offseason. You move, you shift this guy Alt
- 21:50Johalt to the left tackle from the right tackle position.
- 21:54We know he was a left tackle in college and statistics would
- 21:57tell you he's the best tackle right now in the NFL.
- 22:01And it's not even an argument. You can't even argue that right
- 22:04now. The Chargers showed you in week
- 22:09one they can beat a Super Bowl contending team as everybody
- 22:13believes the Kansas City Chiefs are contending this year.
- 22:17Beat Patrick Mahomes. I'll play Patrick Mahomes in
- 22:21Brazil, a national television on a Friday night game and made
- 22:26that 19 yard run that won the game for the Chargers.
- 22:33With the weapons that this team has, even without Slater this
- 22:37year, can they win the AFCA? 100% can, as long as Justin
- 22:42Herbert is standing on his two feet and he has the running
- 22:47game. Now, there's a lot of questions
- 22:48with this running game. They have a young kid.
- 22:51They got a bunch of veterans here.
- 22:52They got to stay healthy. They stay healthy with Jim
- 22:56Harbaugh as their head coach. I mean, he's got these like
- 23:00thick glasses. I mean, he looks a little old
- 23:02and he still wears those ugly khakis.
- 23:04He looks a little out there sometimes.
- 23:07I'm surprised he doesn't wear suspenders.
- 23:08He would look pretty good with suspenders, Jim Harbaugh.
- 23:10But nevertheless, they're two and O, and you can argue they're
- 23:16the best team in the AFC West. You look at the Broncos right
- 23:20now, they have not played well. Bo Nicks has a sophomore year.
- 23:26If this is a sophomore year, this might not be a big year for
- 23:29Bo Nicks. Kansas City, they're old.
- 23:32They look old. They do.
- 23:35They don't have a lot of weapons.
- 23:36You're going to bet on Xavier Worthy or you're going to bet on
- 23:38Hollywood Brown. You got to wait for Rice.
- 23:40Do they make a trade to bring in Tyree?
- 23:42Kill if it if it becomes avail if he becomes available.
- 23:44Don't worry, they have Jeff's boy.
- 23:45Taekwonda Thornton. Patriots legend Vegas.
- 23:49I'm not betting on Vegas. Pete Carroll's first year, Geno
- 23:52Smith made a tremendous amount of mistakes against the
- 23:55Chargers. Don't worry, I'm going to get
- 23:56into Geno Smith. The Chargers right now you can
- 24:01argue is the third best team in the AFC.
- 24:04You can argue this if you think about it right now, Buffalo is
- 24:10better than them, Baltimore is better than them.
- 24:16After that, I'm going to tell you this right now when I've
- 24:20watched their defense and by the way, I've I love the Chargers
- 24:24defense now they they did lose a very important piece to their
- 24:27defense. I don't know if he's out for the
- 24:29season, but he's. At least on IR.
- 24:31So he's out at least four games. Khalil Mack is, is a beast.
- 24:34You see how big he is? I mean, his arms are about the
- 24:37size of mining Jabba's put together.
- 24:39The guy is, is unbelievably, you know, built like a friggin
- 24:42Hercules. The guy's a beast.
- 24:45Losing a guy like him, it does affect your defense.
- 24:48But what they have in the secondary and what the, how they
- 24:50play and the way they play their defensive side side of the game.
- 24:55I, I, I think that this team has all the cylinders to be a top
- 25:00three team in the AFC, maybe even a top two team.
- 25:04Pete Carroll looks old. He he is old.
- 25:08I know he's the oldest coach in the NFL, but he looks like a
- 25:10deer in the headlights now. I love that he runs up and down
- 25:14the sidelines every single time. He can.
- 25:17He can kill some gum too. Wow, that guy could run up and
- 25:22down the sidelines for a 7374 year old man.
- 25:24That guy's got some stamina, man.
- 25:26He could do it. But you could see that maybe the
- 25:29game has passed them by. Maybe it has now.
- 25:32I I'm not worried about Ashton Gente.
- 25:35I'm not. I know the numbers won't.
- 25:37They don't really stick out to you like a sore thumb.
- 25:40I'm not worried about him. The offensive line is not good.
- 25:43This is not a premier offensive line.
- 25:45I believe that Pete Carroll's going to have to use Ashton
- 25:48Gente in the open field. Some of these screen passes.
- 25:51He's going to have to be used a little bit.
- 25:53Like I would say more like, I wouldn't even say Saquon
- 25:59Barkley, not Montgomery. Who's the other guy?
- 26:02What Gibbs? Gibbs.
- 26:03I I would use him more like a Gibbs.
- 26:06That's what I would probably do. Jamir.
- 26:08Jamir Gibbs is a guy that likes to catch the ball in the
- 26:11backfield, use his speed and his power to run on the sidelines.
- 26:15I think that's what they're going out.
- 26:17If they want to open up the offensive books or offensive
- 26:21playbook for a Gente, you're going to have to use the speed
- 26:25on the outside. The Gente provides.
- 26:27We saw it on Boise State. We saw what he did in college
- 26:30last year. I believe the Heisman Trophy
- 26:32winner, I want to see more of that.
- 26:34They have to use Ashton Gente for for to open up the offense
- 26:40for a Brock Bowers. Brock Bowers is still playing
- 26:42well, but Brock Bowers is not going to be as good as we
- 26:46thought he was going to be unless they find a way to have a
- 26:49running game and they don't have a running game in the first two
- 26:52games. Geno Smith stinks.
- 26:54He stinks. Now I understand why Pete
- 26:57Carroll decided to go after him in the offseason when he took
- 27:01over this coaching job, because Geno Smith knows his offense and
- 27:04he succeeded over there in Seattle when he took over for
- 27:06Russell Wilson. He did.
- 27:08He was good, but this is a different team.
- 27:12This is a much different team. He doesn't have DK Metcalf.
- 27:17He doesn't have Tyler Lockett. That is a good slack guy that
- 27:21you can, you know, in the prime of his career.
- 27:23Tyler Lockett was a pretty good wide receiver.
- 27:26They don't have the running game that Walker provides or Zach
- 27:33Charburnet. They don't have that kind of
- 27:35running game. They don't.
- 27:37And I like Aston Gente, but he's one guy.
- 27:39He's 1 weapon. They don't have a double double
- 27:42head monster in the backfield. They don't have that.
- 27:45They really don't. And their offensive line, which
- 27:48by the way, Seattle's offensive line, thanks to the New York
- 27:52Giants, is pretty damn good. They have a good offensive line.
- 27:56They have two guys on the corners, offensive tackle and
- 28:00and cross, who the Giants should have drafted, by the way,
- 28:03decided apart, not draft him. I they drafted somebody else
- 28:06who's Evan Neal, who is not even starting as a guard or a tackle.
- 28:11So they made a mistake there. Cross, it looks like pretty it
- 28:13looks pretty good. And that offensive line is
- 28:15pretty damn good. Over the last couple years, he
- 28:17wasn't very good with Russell Wilson, but after Geno Smith
- 28:20took over, they gave Geno Smith weapons on that offensive line.
- 28:26They don't have an offensive line over here with the Las
- 28:30Vegas Raiders. They don't.
- 28:31This offensive line is again a bottom tier offensive line and
- 28:36you could see that the defense, even though the defense at some
- 28:40points this year, especially in game number one, look like they
- 28:43could play. They're just there.
- 28:46There's so many deficiencies that they have the linebacker
- 28:49position. I don't think they have a very
- 28:51good bunch of linebackers. They have one linebacker, but
- 28:54the other two aren't really that good.
- 28:55They're they're corner play, not very good.
- 29:00I just don't know if the Chargers this year are going to
- 29:05make noise, especially in a division that is going to be
- 29:07dominated by the Broncos, the Kansas City Chiefs and the
- 29:12Chargers. I believe that three teams, at
- 29:15least 2, is coming out of the West.
- 29:18I believe it. But I'm going to tell you this
- 29:20right now, it's not going to be Vegas being one of them.
- 29:24So I, I mean, Geno Smith did not look good in game #2 And I think
- 29:28Geno Smith, I don't care what Geno has to say at the end of
- 29:31the game, I give him a lot of credit because he didn't throw
- 29:33anybody on the bus. But you could see him on the
- 29:35sidelines. He was unhappy.
- 29:37You could tell it some of the guys were not running the routes
- 29:40that he wanted them to run. Maybe he was forcing the ball a
- 29:43little too much. That's why he threw 3
- 29:44interceptions. He didn't look good.
- 29:46Ladies and gentlemen, Justin Herbert did, Baker Mayfield did.
- 29:52CJ Stroud didn't. Two out of the four look good.
- 29:55The other two look like they're going to have very long.
- 29:59Season speedy yes indeed, because we knew the Raiders
- 30:02talent deficiency was always going to be a big problem I
- 30:04didn't think the offensive line going into the season was going
- 30:07to see consider one of their really bad deficiencies though
- 30:09it wasn't like it was a great offensive line but they have
- 30:11some good players Jackson Powers Johnson who was one of the
- 30:14better center prospects out of his draft.
- 30:15You have Colton Miller, solid tackle, Dylan Param, a gem that
- 30:18Jon Gruden found. I think like the 6th or 7th
- 30:20round. They have talent on this
- 30:21offensive line. So it's really surprising how
- 30:24Gentie has really struggled to start the year just because the
- 30:26Raiders offensive line, especially blocking on the
- 30:28interior just has not been good enough.
- 30:30And they we knew they didn't have outside weapons outside of
- 30:32Brock Bauer. So Geno Smith tried to force the
- 30:34ball deep downfield like he tries to do.
- 30:36It's not really an ideal strategy when you don't have a
- 30:38real deep threat at the wide receiver position on this team.
- 30:41And their defense has held their own, but they can only hold
- 30:43their own to extent. Oh, you don't like Jacoby Myers?
- 30:45He's. A slot guy, he's fine.
- 30:47I mean, he's, he thinks he could be a number one guy.
- 30:49He's not a deep threat, though. He.
- 30:50Says he's the number one guy and he should be paid like a number
- 30:53one guy. He's not, he's not a deep
- 30:55threat. He's a traditional slot type
- 30:56that's decent. He's gets short catches, get
- 30:59good route runner, but not a guy that you would want to force the
- 31:01ball down the field. And Geno Smith just does the
- 31:03opposite of that. As far as the Chargers, you're
- 31:05seeing on Justin Herbert saying there's a lot of people that
- 31:08have been surprisingly critical of him.
- 31:10Oh, he struggles in the fourth quarter.
- 31:12Oh, he doesn't win a playoff game.
- 31:14Oh, he makes some bad decision making.
- 31:15He's been statistically speaking a top five quarterbacks since
- 31:18he's come into the league. And now he's finally showing it
- 31:20to all the the casual fans, I guess you would call it that,
- 31:23have been blaming him for a lot of the Chargers issues over the
- 31:26years when they had a really bad defense.
- 31:27They had one of the worst coaches at recent memory and
- 31:29Brandon Staley that did not know what he was doing and play call
- 31:32it wise and a roster that was very old at one point that has
- 31:37now gotten young because of Jim Harbaugh and the way they
- 31:39drafted last year. It was a defensive
- 31:41transformation that was overnight.
- 31:43The Texans, I'm really worried about their offensive line.
- 31:46I think Jim Harbaugh is the only coach I believe that has taken
- 31:51over a team that could take over any NFL team right now and
- 31:55transform this team in about a year and a half.
- 31:58I don't, I don't think there's any coach in the NFL that could
- 32:01do what Jim Harbaugh has done, what he did with San Francisco
- 32:05and what he has done with the Chargers.
- 32:08Like a like a championship winning team or just like
- 32:10winning. I mean, think about it.
- 32:11Yeah, I think the Chargers are a borderline championship team
- 32:15right now, even without Slater. They can absolutely come out of
- 32:19the AFC, Absolutely. If Justin Herbert stays healthy
- 32:23and they can protect him and all keeps playing the way he is and
- 32:26they play dominantly at the line of scrimmage.
- 32:28Why couldn't they? They have the one of the best
- 32:31secretaries in football right now.
- 32:32You can't argue that they have the best free safety in
- 32:35football. The best.
- 32:37I don't even think you could argue that now after what he has
- 32:40done in Week 1 and Week 2. This is also a defense too, that
- 32:43remember in 2023 was the historically worst pass defense
- 32:47we've ever seen in NFL history. They obviously lost a lot of
- 32:50those players because they struggled that year and Jim
- 32:52Harbaugh brought them a lot of these younger guys, entrusted
- 32:55those younger guys in the defense, and they were a top 10
- 32:58defense in a lot of categories last year and are still playing
- 33:00like it this year. That's the only three.
- 33:01And I wasn't sure on them this year because I thought, OK,
- 33:03maybe they're a regression candidate.
- 33:04They haven't regressed at all. They've still played really well
- 33:07transitioning out of the Texans. You recap everything with the
- 33:10offensive line and why it's going to be a big problem for
- 33:12them because. It's amazing how one guy can
- 33:15change. That one guy, one in tonsil that
- 33:17again, he's been a good player career, but he's also been
- 33:19injury prone and the Texans never had these.
- 33:21Kind of. He's a pro ball player.
- 33:22He's not just an OK player, he's a pro ball player.
- 33:25Yeah. And you're seeing now, between
- 33:27that and the lack of an inside run game, that the Texans are
- 33:30going to have a lot of problems with those two elements of their
- 33:32game. Because we knew they had to do a
- 33:34little bit different things with all the receiver injuries that
- 33:37they have. And they can't even get anything
- 33:39of the sort going when you try to just bring in 2 running
- 33:42backs. They thought, OK, we're right
- 33:43there. Usually teams bring in veteran
- 33:45running backs when they're like, think of it as the missing piece
- 33:47type thing. They try to have that final
- 33:49philosophy. They're still far from there.
- 33:50And maybe they're just showing that maybe they're just been a
- 33:52product of a weak division over the years and not as big of a
- 33:55Super Bowl contender as it is. And then there's Tampa, you
- 33:57mentioned Tampa, I had them in the NFC Championship game at the
- 33:59start of the year and a lot of it was how good their offensive
- 34:01potency can be. Even without Godwin there at
- 34:04Buca is showing how good he is that offensive line.
- 34:07You want to talk about bad they were Bradys last year.
- 34:10They transformed into one of the best units in the league,
- 34:11probably a top ten offensive line in the league and.
- 34:14You could argue that probably have a top three offensive
- 34:16tackle in football. Easily and then they have two
- 34:18really good young. Interior.
- 34:19Who would have thought that worth would have been, and I'm
- 34:22just saying this out of that class and Thomas was in that
- 34:25class. I I mean, Makai Becton was in
- 34:27that class. Everybody was like, this is
- 34:29going to be one of the best offensive line classes we've
- 34:32seen. And that was during COVID.
- 34:33I remember it and that was the first year COVID.
- 34:36That was the first draft where they were sitting at home and
- 34:38they were doing the draft. It was like something of a video
- 34:41game that we watched on television.
- 34:43And everybody was like, well, we're good, but you know, it
- 34:47might be too small for a tackle. They there was a lot of
- 34:50questions about him. Can he stay healthy?
- 34:52The guy's been the best and more and probably the most healthy
- 34:57out of all the tackles in that class.
- 34:59Yeah, I remember I was bashing the Browns for not taking him at
- 35:0210 because I like Thomas too, at the time, obviously that I was.
- 35:04Neil was in that draft, Cross was in that draft.
- 35:07That was a good draft when it came to offensive tackles.
- 35:09Yeah, the. I liked, I wasn't mad at Andrew
- 35:12Thomas, I liked him at the time, but obviously Werfs was the best
- 35:15pass blocking guy. He's definitely has been showing
- 35:17his whole career and you're seeing now it's how it's really
- 35:19elevated everyone else. And he's another one that had to
- 35:21move to left tackle too, because he was a right tackle most of
- 35:23his career. Dude he punches people in the
- 35:25throat. When you watch that guy he is
- 35:28mean. He is a mean man and I've I
- 35:31heard Baker Mayfield. I watched some documentary with
- 35:34with Baker Mayfield where he dressed up like some I forget
- 35:37what he called himself and he tricked werf and everything.
- 35:41He looks like a teddy bear. The guy looks like the nicest
- 35:44guy but when he plays football you can hear him on the football
- 35:47field. You watch the game and you put
- 35:49it loud. You can hear him on the outside
- 35:51just talking crap, whoever standing in front of him, and
- 35:54he's beating the hell out of him.
- 35:56And you're seeing now also too, like you talk about the
- 35:58leadership with Baker Mayfield that was kind of questioned at
- 36:00different points in his career being obviously being cocky kind
- 36:03of in college and everyone's worried, oh, is he going to be
- 36:05working as. Not cocky, he's confident.
- 36:07Yeah, exactly. And I think they've all rallied
- 36:09around that because after after Brady retired, like we were
- 36:13thinking of this as probably like a 5 or 6 win team.
- 36:15They had good players, but they still need to transition.
- 36:18Like I said, a lot of key positions, offensive line, their
- 36:20secondary was still kind of questionable.
- 36:21And how good of a head coach would Todd Bowles actually be?
- 36:23And it's a second stint now after what he was saying.
- 36:26Now, there are still some questions of him, like I said,
- 36:28with the clock management and sometimes can get too
- 36:30conservative at points. But he's still a good, really
- 36:33good team culture guy. And even with this defense, a
- 36:35very young defense has transformed them.
- 36:37I think this is definitely a Super Bowl contender.
- 36:39I I would put them right there with the Rams and with the
- 36:41Eagles. Rams and Bucks was my NFC
- 36:42Championship game and pick at the start of the year and they
- 36:44play well against. The Eagles, so depends on Justin
- 36:47Herbert if he could stay healthy.
- 36:48That's what worries me. He reminds me of Joe Burrell and
- 36:51this guy has all the tools to be lead of the elite.
- 36:55I think Justin Herbert could win the MVP this year.
- 36:59Joe Burrow would sell his soul to have Joe Alt block for him.
- 37:02That team has the absolute worst offensive line in the NFL and
- 37:07it's embarrassment. And you take half of Joelt, half
- 37:11of Joe Walt, you know, cut them up 1/2 on the left side, 1/2 on
- 37:13the right side, better than what they got right now.
- 37:16You know what I mean? Like it's that bad.
- 37:18And it's so curious because they we said in the offseason how
- 37:21dumb it was to pay both Higgins and Chase because then you can't
- 37:24put put other guys around on the lineup.
- 37:26Well, the Raiders did something almost as dumb.
- 37:28They got a good pass blocking lineup, offensive line, and
- 37:34drafted a running back at six and they can't open holes from
- 37:37you know that he's the only. The Raiders are the only team
- 37:41that average negative yards before contact in the league.
- 37:46So he gets hit behind the line of scrimmage every play on
- 37:51average. No other team is that bad on the
- 37:55run blocking in the offense. And how are you supposed to be
- 37:57good? We saw Saquon have to do that
- 37:58same crap with the Giants for years.
- 38:02Even Saquon could barely eke out 1000 yards doing that.
- 38:06Gentie's not going to be able to do it if they don't.
- 38:08If they can't run block, they're an embarrassment.
- 38:10Run blocking only to be surpassed by the embarrassment
- 38:13of the Texans that we saw, which can't do anything.
- 38:17They literally can't do anything.
- 38:18And it's the scariest part about the Texans is they lost their
- 38:21their tackle and it's only Week 2 and they have no depth.
- 38:25At least the Giants, I know they suck and they tackle is coming
- 38:29back, but at least I know they have depth.
- 38:31This is scary for CJ Stroud. I'd be surprised if he makes it
- 38:36through the season upright. It's going to be real tough for
- 38:39him to stay healthy. Maybe we should trade the.
- 38:41Better deal, I might make up an excuse or an injury or something
- 38:44if I'm CJ with what he's doing. Those are tough games to play.
- 38:49I feel bad. I feel bad for CJ Stroud because
- 38:52CJ Stroud in the last two years, even last year in his sophomore
- 38:57year, he had a decent year. He wasn't bad.
- 38:59He was pretty good, especially in the second-half.
- 39:01He really helped his team out with some of the deficiencies
- 39:04they had. But they they still had tonsil
- 39:06there and their offensive line was much better than they look
- 39:10right now in the first two games.
- 39:12You look at their team right now, they don't have mixing.
- 39:14This year, mixing might not be back for the rest of the year.
- 39:16You're going to bet on Chubb, who just had an absolutely
- 39:19disgusting injury last year. We saw that leg just bent right
- 39:22back. I mean, it was hanging on a
- 39:24limb. It was disgusting.
- 39:25It looked like it looked like Paul George's leg.
- 39:28Remember that for Team USA when his leg went wrapped around.
- 39:32It was disgusting. And the fact that Trump is
- 39:34playing NFL football right now is says a lot about him and his
- 39:38personality and why he wants to show people he could still play
- 39:41as at an elite pace. But right now I look at all four
- 39:46of these teams that the two teams that I believe that could
- 39:50and both these I could, I could argue that this could be the
- 39:53Super Bowl. Why couldn't the Buccaneers play
- 39:55the Chargers? I mean, not well, they can't be.
- 39:58Yeah, they could play the Super Bowl.
- 39:59The Buccaneers and the Chargers could play in the Super Bowl
- 40:02against one another. Baker Mayfield against Justin
- 40:04Herbert, two number one picks. Well, Justin Herbert wasn't the
- 40:09number one, Kyla Murray was. So that's right.
- 40:12That's right. I didn't understand that either.
- 40:15Justin Herbert. And by the way, I remember the
- 40:17Giants were trying desperately to move up to get Justin
- 40:21Herbert. Remember that?
- 40:23They were trying desperately to do that and they decided to go
- 40:26Daniel Jones. And I don't think the Giants
- 40:28were wrong. We don't know what Daniel Jones
- 40:30is because the Giants didn't really help them.
- 40:32They didn't put him in a bit. If if Justin Herbert was on
- 40:35those Giant teams, he fails, he fails, He probably is moved.
- 40:40They probably let him go and let him go to the Indianapolis Colts
- 40:43and succeed over there just like they did with you.
- 40:45I'm not saying Daniel Jones is Justin Herbert, I'm not saying
- 40:49that. But what I'm saying is Daniel
- 40:51Jones is proven. He's a competent quarterback.
- 40:54And what we've seen with Justin Herbert when he stays healthy is
- 40:57the man can throw it and the man can step outside of the pocket,
- 41:01use his legs like he did for Oregon when he was over there
- 41:04and and and everybody said was sucked for the Duck.
- 41:06Remember that when he was going to be the number one pick and
- 41:08then he decided to go but one more year back to college and he
- 41:11fell out of everybody's good gracious because everybody
- 41:14thought Kyla Murray and you know, the offensive coordinator
- 41:17right now for the commanders, Cliff Kingsbury thought, hey,
- 41:20you know what, I coached this guy.
- 41:22I want him instead of Justin. Could you imagine?
- 41:25Think about it this way. If Justin Herbert was the guy to
- 41:30be picked by Arizona and Kyler Murray was the guy to get
- 41:35drafted by the Chargers, does Jim Harbaugh take that job?
- 41:40Think about it, does Jim Harbaugh take that Charger job?
- 41:45Because I'm going to tell you this right now.
- 41:47Jim Harbaugh knew what he was doing when he decided to take to
- 41:50interview and take that because he had he interviewed the year
- 41:53before from Miami. Remember that?
- 41:54And the Raiders and the Raiders. And he didn't want any of those.
- 41:57He wanted nothing to do with those jobs.
- 42:00But as soon as that Charger job became open, he knew what he was
- 42:04doing. He knew that Justin Herbert was
- 42:07the guy that he wanted to coach. But that's my question for you
- 42:10guys. If Kyla Murray was the starting
- 42:13quarterback for the LA Chargers, does Jim Harbaugh take that job?
- 42:19I don't think so. I think Kyler Murray is the one
- 42:22that obviously wanted Kingsbury and he was kind of kind of
- 42:25egotistical about it at the time even too like, oh, I want to
- 42:28Cliff Kingsbury did. Wasn't going to take any other
- 42:30NFL jobs I think at the time besides Arizona.
- 42:34And I think Kyler Murray adds A leeway to it.
- 42:35So who says I wouldn't have done the same thing with Harbaugh,
- 42:37who's kind of the opposite coach of Kingsbury?
- 42:41It must be the khakis and I, you know, I, I personally, every
- 42:44time I coach a game, I go full horrible every time.
- 42:47We got to tuck it in, got the khakis going.
- 42:49You got to have the sneakers. His wife makes fun of them.
- 42:52His wife. Makes fun.
- 42:53That's fine. He wins.
- 42:55Keep doing it. He does.
- 42:56That guy's a winner. It works it.
- 42:58Must be I'm going to tell you this too.
- 43:00I'm going to tell you this too. If if Horrible was still with
- 43:03San Francisco, they win a Super Bowl.
- 43:06If he go, if he went to back to if he went to those Super Bowls
- 43:09against Kansas City, he would have found a way the second
- 43:12Super Bowl to knock off the the Andy Reid Kansas City Chiefs.
- 43:17I believe it. I absolutely believe it.
- 43:19There's no way Jim Harbaugh loses back-to-back times against
- 43:23Kansas City. I can't see that.
- 43:25Jim Harbold's too smart of a coach.
- 43:27He understands how to read coaches and read players and
- 43:31defenses where he would have figured out, remember, this guy
- 43:34was a quarterback. He was a pretty good quarterback
- 43:36in the NFL. You know, you see these coaches,
- 43:38they they're quarterbacks. They played as a backup
- 43:40quarterback and they weren't any good.
- 43:43Think about it more Kellen Moore, he was an NFL
- 43:46quarterback. He wasn't good.
- 43:47If you go up and down the NFL teams that have X quarterbacks
- 43:51that are coaching now in the NFL, they were not good.
- 43:55Jim Harbaugh was a good quarterback.
- 43:57I remember him with Indianapolis Colts.
- 43:59He was very good. He was a good quarterback, just
- 44:03had a big mouth and didn't know when to shut it.
- 44:05He was the Aaron Rodgers of his time.
- 44:09That's what he was. He was a guy that didn't have a
- 44:13muzzle. He liked to open up his mouth.
- 44:15He liked to throw people under the bus, including teammates.
- 44:18Remember John Kitna? He played with him.
- 44:20He threw John Kitna under the bus.
- 44:22I remember that I there was I. Mean John John Kitna prayed
- 44:27before every single play. That's not what I'm saying.
- 44:31That's. John Kitner rubbed a lot of
- 44:33people. The right way he threw him under
- 44:35what I John Kitner is harmless. I mean, think about it.
- 44:39Look at that guy besides. One of the most annoying guys in
- 44:41this. He had the biggest Cavs for a
- 44:43quarterback, by the way. That.
- 44:45Might be true, I remember that he he could kind of throw flat
- 44:47footed because he. Was dude, he had some of the
- 44:49biggest Cavs I've ever seen. I mean, I've seen offensive
- 44:53lineman and defense. This guy as a quarterback had a
- 44:56set of Cavs on this man. I mean, it looked like an
- 45:00offensive or defensive lineman with the Cavs that this guy had.
- 45:03It was crazy. I think we we learned something
- 45:06that in this game that we haven't really no one's covering
- 45:10and it's that Jesse Minter is going to be a head coach in this
- 45:12league next year. The defensive coordinator for
- 45:14the Chargers. Harbaugh brought him with him
- 45:16from Michigan. People mentioned him as a
- 45:19possible candidate, but again, young guy is even 40 yet.
- 45:23I don't think he's a man. In there were a lot of teams
- 45:25that might have taken him on as a college coach if it wasn't for
- 45:28the. Sanctions and he he seems to be
- 45:31excellent. Some of it's scheme, but a lot
- 45:33of it is coaching guys up and teaching them how to play the
- 45:36right way. There's so many guys that are
- 45:38talented when they get to this level, but not all of them get
- 45:41great coaching. I have a feeling that Harbaugh
- 45:43picked this guy for a reason, to be his defensive coordinator and
- 45:46won't let him go until he eventually gets a job that's
- 45:48equal to him. And that's what I think's
- 45:50happening. I would be shocked if he's not a
- 45:52head coach in the league next year.
- 45:54Anyways, that's it for our show. Ladies and gentlemen, thank.

- 47:21Fresh off the Steelers versus. Jets game please.
- 47:24That's the only thing he could brag.
- 47:25About that's about it that the buckle of a game in game number
