- 1:29time for the Ricardo Amerigo Matter Parts one and two from Hollywood. It's time
- 1:37now for Johnny Dallam. John this is Harry Branson, a Philadelphia mutual.
- 1:42Harry, what are you doing in John? I'm not, at least not
- 1:46in your town. But you've got a case for me. Do you know
- 1:48anything about violins? Oh? On, tell me. So he opened up
- 1:49his fiddle case and out came a submachine gun, added John, That technique
- 1:53went out with prohibition. Now, seriously, this case contains a genuine Amati.
- 1:57Good what's in Amati? One of the fine this most expensive violin's ever
- 2:00made. This one was insured for thirty thousand dollars. Wise, yes,
- 2:04now someone has to find it for us. What's more? Okay, Harry,
- 2:07I'm on my way tonight and every weekday night. Bob Bailey in the
- 2:19Transcribed Adventures of the Man with the Action Tact Expensive God, America's Fabulous freelance
- 2:23Insurance Investigator, Yours Truly, Johnny Dollar. Expense account submitted by Special Investigator
- 2:38Johnny Dollar to the Philadelphia Mitual Liability and Casualty Company. The following is an
- 2:43accounting of expenditures incurred during my investigation of the Ricardo Amerigo matter. Expense account
- 2:51Item one twelve forty Train fair and Incidentals to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. I took
- 2:54the train because Harry Branson didn't seem to be in any particular hurry, and
- 2:59I can't like a slow look at the countryside this time of year. When
- 3:04I got to Philadelphia, I checked in at the Bellevue Stratford, shaved and
- 3:07showered, then went over to Harry Branson's office and the Security First building on
- 3:09Walnut Street. You deceived me, John. I thought, when we talk
- 3:13long distance that you'd be here right away. But instead of flying down all
- 3:15the silversides, Branson hadn't changed a full time. I'd hear a little grayer
- 3:20than the last time I've seen him, perhaps from Amory's still the same serious
- 3:23lads. He always acted as though he was carrying the weight of the world
- 3:27on his shoulder. I feel a deep personal concern over the whole matter,
- 3:30because it was a man I put in this office myself, who issued the
- 3:32policies, both of them. Two policies on this fiddle you were talking about,
- 3:36No, John, one on the Amati violin thirty thousand dollars, yeah,
- 3:39and one on Ricardo Amerigo himself for twenty thousand dollars. Who is Ricky?
- 3:44Who wasn't that what you said? His name is. I'm sure I
- 3:46didn't mention anyone by the Oh oh oh Ricardo Amerigo. Yes, yes,
- 3:51well, uh, where's he playing a purple cat? Or maybe we Willi's
- 3:54join over, John, this man is a concert violinist or was? He's
- 3:58disappeared? Now, please more levity, Sorry, Eero, it's harrisome,
- 4:01sorry er all right, quite all right now, I realize that you have
- 4:05quite a sense of humor, John, But in a matter as important as
- 4:09this, Yeah, sure, Now let's have the story very well. A
- 4:12few years ago, Ricardo Amerigo was one of the world's leading concert violinists,
- 4:15as famous in London, Paris, Rome as in the concert halls of this
- 4:19country. Ah, such virtuosity, almost unbelievable. I shall never forget one
- 4:25evening here in our Academy of Music. He had just finished a perfectly brilliant
- 4:29Vinofsky, amazing technical performance. Yeah well, and from encore he played sarasat
- 4:33Sapatiado even more brilliant, Harry, But the audience wouldn't let him leave the
- 4:39stage. Ricardo Amerigo has disappeared. Oh oh, yes, and you're in
- 4:43a hurry to get all of the case. I'm sorry, and I thinking
- 4:46of his superlative performance that night carried me away. For yes, he's dead,
- 4:49disappeared in the violin no trace. He didn't say that before I know.
- 4:55You see, there's no proof of death. Nobody disappeared. Well tell
- 4:59let me shock your finer sensibilities. Harry murder. We had thought of that,
- 5:02of course, who's we the Port Marris Police Port Marris, New Jersey,
- 5:06that is aw. Yes, you see, since Amerigo's car went through
- 5:09the bridge rail, crashed right through it and plunged into the river. Trying
- 5:13to tie Harry down, the pertinent facts that would help me in my investigation
- 5:15was well feudal. At least three times during the next half hour he went
- 5:20off on glowing descriptions of violin recitals he had known II, fitz Selman,
- 5:25Chrysler, and so on. But he did come up with one or two
- 5:28things I wanted. First, Amerigo and his fiddle had been driving down from
- 5:31Philadelphia to some spot on the South Jersey Seashore, crossing an old wooden bridge
- 5:36over a little stream and inlet from the ocean. The car had smashed through
- 5:40the guard rail and gone to the bottom of the inlet. The car,
- 5:43of course, was found Amerigo and his violin no second, and just as
- 5:47important the name of the beneficiary of Amerigo's policies item too on expense account one
- 5:53dollar even taxi to the Harnell Building, also on Walnut Street, in the
- 5:57office of Peter Corbyn, Amerigo's booking agent. The building was plush, but
- 6:00Corbyn's office was about as bare as I'd ever seen. An old, beat
- 6:04up desk, a battered filing cabinet, a couple of straight chairs. That
- 6:08was it. Dollar commenced. Corbyn was chewing the stub of a cigar that
- 6:13he'd forgotten to relight for at least a couple of days. We made with
- 6:15the usual hotyds. Well, you men, Branson told you exactly right,
- 6:20Dolla. I'm Ricado and Murgo's sole and only beneficiary. Oh it has not
- 6:25a been unusual for a man's agent to be his air or was it because
- 6:30you were all personal friends. I'm going to give it to you straight.
- 6:33I brought him Marie Go over to this country myself, my own sole expense.
- 6:38I actually gave him the build up, I started his whole entire career.
- 6:42I kept him on top of all at my own expense. Why didn't
- 6:45you collect a regular agent's commission on his own shoe shore plenty more white kid
- 6:48about it. Sure, while he was working what's that supposed to mean?
- 6:51Bottle? What yees? Started hitting the bottle bad, not good, And
- 6:57believe me, the word gets her own fast instead of taking me money himself
- 7:00too, because he started costing me money. But you see, he never
- 7:03saved anything even when he was earning big You know how these artists. Yeah,
- 7:06well that's the same with all of them. He gotten that actually up
- 7:11to his ears and nobody no but no family, no relatives, nobody to
- 7:15pull him out. Nobody but me, big hearted Corby. So you had
- 7:19him take on a lot of insurance and name you as beneficiary, Well that
- 7:23was his idea. Actually, of course he always did have the amati insured.
- 7:26That's his violin. Oh you know about violence? No oh well,
- 7:31but the life insurance that was his own idea, double identity, all that
- 7:35sort of double Oh. Yeah, but guess who had to dig up the
- 7:39mula for the last couple of premiums, Big heart at Corbyn. You're right,
- 7:44not a bad investment though, wasn't. Well, hey, premiums and
- 7:48you stand to collect money if we can find proof that he's dead, and
- 7:53if we can't, I don't have bad Dollar. I don't either, cob,
- 7:57and it doesn't smell that. Oh you think me his own age can
- 8:00actually rig something like that for one of my best friends? You think that?
- 8:05Listen, wise guy. Even if I did have any any of us
- 8:07such idea, it'd be crazy. Anything actually is as obvious as that.
- 8:13Well, sometimes the most obvious is the best cover. Oh, get out
- 8:16of here, Dollar, unless you want somebody to start collecting on your assurance.
- 8:18Even if it isn't you huh, get out so help you? Yeah,
- 8:24pretty obvious, And every time you open your mouth you don't. Why
- 8:31is it that people who telegraph their punches are always the first to start swinging.
- 8:35Anyhow, I left Corbin to pick himself up and start thinking about some
- 8:39alibis he might need. And in the camp back to my hotel, I
- 8:43did a lot of thinking myself. Sure, the obvious, oft times is
- 8:46the best cover up, and yet it might be too obvious, far too
- 8:50obvious. Ns in here, Johnny Dollar here, Oh John good listen.
- 8:58At least there'll be no double indemnity to pay in the Amerigo madam for accidental
- 9:03death. That is, you see wait a minute. About an hour ago,
- 9:07you weren't even sure he's dead. Did somebody find the body? No,
- 9:09unfortunately, But I've just received a call from the Port Morris Police.
- 9:13They completed their examination of Amerigo's car after they pulled it out of the creek.
- 9:16Of course, I hope so, John, they found conclusive evidence of
- 9:20murder. Harry, I'll call you from Port Morris. Expense account adam two
- 9:30subway, ferry, train and bus fairs to South Final, New Jersey,
- 9:35South Finland because Ed Bulls lived there, and I knew that if anything,
- 9:37anything at all happened in the hardest sunny Southern Jersey, ad would know about
- 9:41it. Retired and raising some of those wonderful South Jersey sweet potatoes and peaches
- 9:46with plenty of hired help, he amused himself by mosing around, getting to
- 9:50know everybody and everything that happened in his section of the state. He had
- 9:54an insatiable curiosity and money enough to keep it satisfied. Hey are you conniving
- 10:01Chiseling son of a gun? I've been waiting for you to get here.
- 10:03What took you so long? And what was that conniving Chiseling cranks? And
- 10:07we're still on expense account, aren't you? Yeah, sure, it's helped
- 10:11me. Nobody in history ever had the neck of padding out an expense account
- 10:15the way you can and collect those fancy commissions on top. All right,
- 10:20When I was a private investigator who is retired, you call this retired two
- 10:24hundred and seventy acres of sandy soil from which to try to wrestle the poor
- 10:30living. Oh no, that Cadillac Eldorado out front that belongs to one of
- 10:33the hard hands nine hundred and eighty three peach trees. Isn't that a landing
- 10:37feel? I see out there through the window a lot of sweet potato land
- 10:41to be cultivated. Yes, hey, why didn't you fly down or let
- 10:46me know? And I had to pick you up. Look, with all
- 10:48the time I have thought you said you were Yah, how long you're going
- 10:54to stay? Try and figure out where we'll go, what we'll do that
- 10:58I'm on a case. Sure. Ricardo Amerigo and his priceless fiddle. Oh
- 11:01no, it was easy. When I heard about him going over the bridge,
- 11:05I contacted Barney Peters of the Port Morris p D. From Barney,
- 11:09I learned all about the next to Kin, his agent that is Pte carbon
- 11:15right, and that boy at Philadelphia Mutual Harry Branson, and I knew Branson
- 11:20wouldn't call anybody but you in on the case. So here you are still
- 11:24a private Iron said you got to have some way of killing time. And
- 11:28I suppose you have the whole case? Song hip. Well, according to
- 11:31Harry Branson, who heard from the Port Morris police just before I left Philly,
- 11:35it was murder. Oh you point killer. I thought i'd be the
- 11:39one to tell you that. Oh sorry, the cops know it. First
- 11:43second, I told him, huh yeah, I showed him where somebody used
- 11:46a hack saw on the steering arm of Amerigo's car when they dragged it out
- 11:50of the creek. So that was it, yep? And who wielded the
- 11:56hack song? Well, Pete Corbyn? Who else? Why? Who else
- 12:00should to benefit by Amarigo's sudden trip to the Great Beyond? No, no,
- 12:03no, it's too easy. What's more, he's the only one who
- 12:07had constant and complete access to Amerigo's car. Why he not only mothered little
- 12:11Ricky, clothed and fed him and kept him in booze, but he paid
- 12:16his rents, swept out his apartment, serviced his cars and Johnny. That
- 12:22car was even kept locked in Pete Corbyn's own garage. Corbyn had the only
- 12:28key. Where did you learn that Corbyn's landlord? By phone? Of course?
- 12:33He said he thought Corbyn did that so Ricky couldn't go out driving when
- 12:37he was drunk, and me, I think it was the other way around.
- 12:41He'd only let him drive when he was drunk, huh, instead of
- 12:45good chance of smashing up what would look like accidental death, so that Corbyn
- 12:48would collect the double indemnity. It's open and shut. And he proofed Sherlock,
- 12:54Ha, just get to Corbyn, throw it all at him and break
- 12:56him down. Maybe you'll even find a hack, so tucked up his sleeve,
- 13:01choicy, and he bets that it isn't Corbyn. Yeah, yeah,
- 13:05I'll bet you you name it my commission on the case, I'll match it.
- 13:09Oh and plus you're expenser car look ed. I want to see that
- 13:13car in the bridge and the creek, anything else I can find. Sure,
- 13:16I'll fly you down there. Then we can go on over to Atlantic
- 13:20City, hit some of the night spots your treat, you know, so
- 13:26we can build up the expense account enough for me to collect plenty, and
- 13:37Bulls had been a pretty good investigator in this day, seldom gone off half
- 13:41cocked. And all his evidence was purely circumstantial. And where was the body?
- 13:46What's more, Pete Corbyn acted anything but scared, or so I thought,
- 13:52until I put through a routine called Harry Branson. He was worried.
- 13:54He had a right to be. Pete Corbin had packed a bag, jumped
- 13:58into his car, it disappeared, Johnny Dollar. Sergeant Barnie Peters, Port
- 14:20Morris Police, Oh hi, sergeant, thought you and Adam Bowles were coming
- 14:24over here to look at the evidence and the murder of Ricardo Amarigo. You
- 14:28are it's not warming up his plane. That's why I answered his phone.
- 14:31We got a visitor here in Port Morris. The guy add thanks to the
- 14:35job, Pete Corbyn, Amerigo's booking agent. That's right in Port Morris.
- 14:39That's right. Well are you holding him? I can't no legal reason to
- 14:43in spite of ads suspicions. Well what's Corbyn doing there? I don't know
- 14:46unless that's right about him? Huh? And Pete knows you're on his trail?
- 14:50What's that mean? What couldn't mean? He's down here? Gunning for
- 14:52you. Expenserc counsubmitted by Special Investigator Johnny Dollar, location, Port Morris,
- 15:05New Jersey. Following is in accounting of expenditures incurred during my investigation of the
- 15:09Ricardo Emerigo matter. Item three one dollar even for whatever it was, the
- 15:15local druggists recommended to pull my stomach back together after the flight an Ad Bowl's
- 15:18private plane from AD's farm and south Ye under Port Morris. In a sense,
- 15:22I'm glad we flew in a car with that at the wheel. We'd
- 15:26have been all over the road. As it was, we were only all
- 15:28over the sky. A beautiful day for flying, isn't it, Johnny?
- 15:33Can't you hold a straight course? And what's the matter with this ship?
- 15:37And not a thing? I like? Two weave around a bit. I
- 15:39like the feel of it. You know all that power under your Yeah,
- 15:43sure you're not just trying to scare me into welchin on our little bet.
- 15:46I'm gonna win that bet, Johnny, your commission on the case, plus
- 15:50all that goes on that well padded expensive count of yours. You just get
- 15:54busy and find the body. Why don't you forget your dark past is a
- 15:56private eye and stay retired and leave an old friend like you floundering around with
- 16:02a case. It's hay. You don't watch your steering, will be floundering
- 16:06around, and those salt marshes down there. Sorry, but can't you see
- 16:11Johnny Pete Corbon, Amerigo's agent has to be the heavy. He's the beneficiary
- 16:15of Amerigo's policy. Amerigo him a lot him not too easy. And Pete's
- 16:21the only person we know of who was with Amerigo constantly. You got motive
- 16:25opportunity. Too easy, I tell you. But I wonder what under the
- 16:29sun Pete's doing in Port Morris that we'll be finding out. We'll land there
- 16:33in a couple of minutes. Now. The little town of Port Morris was
- 16:42set on the edge of one of the wide salt marshes that border a lot
- 16:45of the South Jersey Shore, just a vast expanse of salt hay, and
- 16:49that it with little coves and inlets, soggy swampy country. Ideal breeding place
- 16:55with the famous Jersey mosquitoes. And I guess for me, the ideal breeding
- 16:59place for trouble. Sergeant Barney Peter's met us at the mucky little landing stretch
- 17:03just outside town. And we headed out on a narrow, muddy road across
- 17:07the marshes. Yes, and mister Dollar, if how were you, I'd
- 17:10try to pin down this Corbyn. Where is he now? Back in town?
- 17:12Got alf McCracken keeping an eye on him, helps the boy. So
- 17:17I am Arigo Christ through the bridge that night. You know, Barney,
- 17:19I still wish you'd cooked up something to hold him. But what ed sure
- 17:23at every bit of evidence you think you've got on Corbin, it's purely circumstanced.
- 17:27What else have you got to go on? John boy? We'll see,
- 17:30we'll see after I have a look at the bridge Amerigo busted through in
- 17:33his car. It's just up ahead a bit acrosses the Lucky Hill Creek.
- 17:37I'd also like to know who could have well, I'd like to know what
- 17:41could have happened to his body to that thirty thousand dollars A muddy violin you
- 17:45see. Just keep in mind that there's a mighty big flow of water in
- 17:48the creek from the tide coming in and going out. MM tell me,
- 17:52serge Johnny, I checked it. Huh. Tide had just turned was on
- 17:56its way out to the ocean at the time. Amarrigo's car went the bridge
- 18:00right, Barney, that's correct ed right now, though it's probably about the
- 18:03lords of what's the matter? Just pulling over to let this car that's coming
- 18:10past us. Otherwise one of us might sheer off into the swamp. And
- 18:14these roads weren't meant for two way traffic. Who's coming pretty fast for a
- 18:17road like this, he isn't ky, Look Pennsylvania plates, huh, he's
- 18:22right, that's Corbyn's car carb huh. Swing across the road blocking wake the
- 18:27son of a gun and I was carbon, all right, Well, then
- 18:30swing around go after it on this road you'd slide off into the swamp so
- 18:34fast by the time we go on up to the bridge and turn, he'll
- 18:37be halfway back to Philadelphia, blasted where we had the bird in hand and
- 18:42didn't know it. What are you gonna do now, Johnny, say,
- 18:45just to exactly what we started out. You're losing valuable time now if I
- 18:49were still, why don't you stay retired? We drove slowly on up to
- 18:56the bridge, stopped and got out, and although the tide was almost low
- 19:00now, it was easy to see how that rush of water would easily carry
- 19:03a violin or a body or almost anything right out to sea or could it
- 19:10the tide was running the same way when it happened out, Yeah, and
- 19:14the current was a lot stronger than it is now, so you can imagine
- 19:17what it would Huh. Yeah, what's the matter, Johnny, Well,
- 19:22that's that big bird nest whatever it is, down at the side of the
- 19:26creek fifty sixty feet. Oh, that's just where the reeds and hey,
- 19:29you got mad at up? Does look like? Hey, yeah, that
- 19:33isn't a fiddle case propped up on top of it. It looks like sure
- 19:36it is. Sure the tide was higher than the fiddle stuck in those reeds.
- 19:40Wait here, Johnny, George, you'll come back here, doll it
- 19:44don it's like quicksands down it you. It was like quicksand too black,
- 19:49Chloe muck and I sank into it up to my knees. I almost had
- 19:53to swim through it, hanging onto it, pulling myself along with the reeds
- 19:56and pull rushes. But half this case hung on that thirty thousand dollars on
- 20:02mighty violin, and I wasn't gonna let it slip out of my hands.
- 20:04A couple of times I dropped in the soft holes, almost up to my
- 20:07shoulders. But somehow I kept going, pulled a fiddle case off the pilomatic
- 20:12weaves and started back view stuff. Most of my strength but only one hand.
- 20:18A pull is to pull myself along to add head. Honey, I
- 20:25at flying grabb this rope. Yeah, cats, breach, Johnny, use
- 20:34the violin case. He can float. Hi, I'll try chee here,
- 20:44Johnny, we're over again, guy y. I hadn't passed out, so
- 21:00help me. I hadn't, not entirely, that is, I never have
- 21:04been able to grab the line that ad bowls through to me. Needless to
- 21:08say, I took a lot of kidding from Adam Barney Peter's on the drive
- 21:11back of Fort Morris, especially since I didn't really know what had happened until
- 21:15I came to on the back seat of the car clutching the fiddle case.
- 21:18Shu, if you'd held out of the rope with a death grip you have
- 21:22on that violin case, we'd have got you out of that muck before you
- 21:26swallowed half the salt water in that inlay. Yeah. Sure, I'll see
- 21:30this, Roy, mister dollar, you don't give up easy. The fiddle
- 21:33The thirty thousand dollars money. At least I had half of this miserable case
- 21:37in hand. In my hands, there'd be no insurance collection on that violin
- 21:42and I saw it. What's the matter, Johnny? You passed out again?
- 21:48No? No, Ed, you should have cleaned me up before you
- 21:52put me into this car. Right? Look? Oh? What is it?
- 21:56Piece of shirt? Ricardo Amerigo's shirt. Look monogram in the pocket ra
- 22:02and what looks like bloodstains? You're right? Where'd you get that? I
- 22:06must have picked it up when I picked up the fiddle. Well, at
- 22:08least it proves that Amerigo went down with his car, no doubt of it.
- 22:14What I didn't tell him was that the piece of cloth from a kindo
- 22:17Amerigo's shirt was facet to the violin case deliberately put there but by home by
- 22:22Pete Corbyn. Johnny, that's your man. Are you listening? Yeah,
- 22:26I'm listening. Beneficiary confidante, caretaker of both Ricky Amarigo and his car.
- 22:33Who else could have saw it through the steering bar that made the car run
- 22:36off the bridge? And a guy who was smart enough to have it happened
- 22:38in this god forsaken saltnar just a minute. Okay, Barney in the heart
- 22:44of sunny southern Jersey, where he expected nobody to find car, or body
- 22:48or even the fiddle until long after the insurance claim was met thanks to a
- 22:52tide that carry everything out to sea. Indeed, my friend, if you're
- 22:57a deputy alf McCracken, hadn't actually seen Amrico's car slip through the bridge rail.
- 23:03Oh wait a minute, yeah, yeah. If Pete Carbon had planned
- 23:07this whole thing, he would have made sure the coppers dilect I would be
- 23:11found, Johnny. That's why he had the accident happened where somebody saw it.
- 23:15Yet that's somebody else. Mccrack and didn't see the fiddle float away.
- 23:18He didn't see the body float away from the car. Stop it, john
- 23:22boy. You know as well as I do that this whole thing was engineered
- 23:26by Cornar Right, tell me, investigator, what was he doing down here
- 23:30today? Lord knows, and I don't care, probably to plant that piece
- 23:34of shirt. Johnny. I've given you all the help I'm going on this
- 23:38case from now on. You either follow my tip and lose your bet to
- 23:44me, or you a don't and give yourself a black eye with insurance Johnny.
- 23:49Yeah, Barney, that's a good detective. He'd have to be to
- 23:52retire on that nice farm his over in South Fiman. Even broke a burglary
- 23:57case for me once in Port Marris, coupy year ago when I couldn't break
- 24:00myself a pastime. But you've got guts. I like you for it.
- 24:04Thanks a lot, and to me, the Pete Corbyn theory looks well too
- 24:11easy. Oh not you, barn. That's what I've been trying to praise
- 24:12to that stubborn egg head sitting beside you. I'll lend you a suit of
- 24:17clean clothes and you can chase this thing down the way you want to,
- 24:19without the dubious help of somebody who was just trying to win a bet from
- 24:22him, traitor. And if I were you, I'd had up a few
- 24:26other people who knew Ricky Amergo besides his press agent. Pete Corbyn, you
- 24:30are a minerator, gentlemen. I have only one thing to say, and
- 24:34Johnny, it's addressed to you. When you finally find that Pete Corbyn done
- 24:40it, you know where to send the check to me. At Port Morris,
- 24:48we learned that Alf mccrack and I lost track at Corban when the former
- 24:52dropped in at Osborne's oyster house for a dozen and a half shell. I
- 24:56hadn't even seen him take off in his car, much less leave in a
- 24:57hurry after spinning us on the road de Luckyhoe Creek. I took advantage of
- 25:02Barney's offer, borrowed a suit of his clothes, and accepted a ride from
- 25:04him to the crossroads of Woodvine, where I could get a bus back to
- 25:07Philadelphia. Sure, half my job was done. I'd recovered the thirty thousand
- 25:12dollars on money, Violin, but I could still hear the old so pleasant
- 25:17voice of Ed Bulls X investigator not so retired. You know where to send
- 25:21the check to me, Johnny boy expense account had him five four dollars and
- 25:27ninety five cents bus fair from Woodvine to Philadelphia, and believe me, it's
- 25:32a long bus ride. As soon as I got to my hotel and changed
- 25:34into my own clothes, I called Harry Branson at the insurance company. Mister
- 25:38Branson here, this is mister dollar. Mister Branson, Yes, mister job.
- 25:42Yeah, back of my hotel, music lover, and I've just won
- 25:45the thirty thousand dollars on money. What yeah, I got the fiddle for
- 25:48you. Well, thank heaven you recovered it. What if Ricardo Americo?
- 25:52Later do you want your money? I'll be right over. Where is it,
- 26:02John? Where is it? Right here? Harry? Right here in
- 26:04case bo and oh thank Heaven, And by some miracle, it's dry as
- 26:08a bone and all in one piece. Bla, oh, thank Heaven,
- 26:15John, John, what's the matter this? And amati? Oh no,
- 26:22oh no. Now here's our star to tell you about tomorrow's intriguing episode of
- 26:42this week's story. Tomorrow the results of a poker game. And believe me,
- 26:47there are times when the cards gonna be really stacked against you. Join
- 26:51us, won't you? Yours tru Lee, Johnny Dollar. Yours Truly Johnny
- 27:07Dollar is starring Bob Bailey, is transcribed in Hollywood. Written by Sam Dawson.
- 27:12It is produced and directed by Jack Johnstone. Be sure to join us
- 27:17tomorrow night at the same time and station for the next exciting episode of Yours
- 27:22Truly, Johnny Dollar. This is Roy Rowan speaking welcome back. Well.
- 28:29I have to admit that that twist with the violin not being the not being
- 28:37the correct violin is an interesting one. I doubt since this is a mystery,
- 28:42that it's just a random violin, but there's a big question as to
- 28:48what exactly it's doing there, and and so this is starting off as a
- 28:53pretty good mystery. I also note the insurance representative here, and this is
- 29:03actually would be one of those recurring characters, and that was one thing that
- 29:08made the Johnny Dollar run different the Bob Bailey run because prior to Bob Bailey
- 29:18and what we've seen so far, all of the insurance investigation insurance guys,
- 29:26we're just totally random people, actors, grab a script, grab a random
- 29:30company name, Sam calling from this company when you come on out here and
- 29:36investigate. But we do start into some recurring insurance company representatives with the unique
- 29:45characteristics and temperaments. And he's a little bit fussy to start with, so
- 29:55but a great start here. We do have some listener comment and feedback,
- 30:02and have a comment here from Joan on podcast Allie Hi Adam, I really
- 30:07enjoy this show so much like Dragnet regarding the lineup, It's so nice to
- 30:12finally be hearing Bob Daily's Johnny Dollar shows again. I think he plays Johnny
- 30:18the best. I also enjoyed him and let George do it too. Hope
- 30:21you are well. Cheers from Joan in Southern Ontario, Canada. Also on
- 30:26podcast Allie, Thanks so much, Adam for all the hard work you put
