- 0:00Speaker 1: Donald's you're lucky. It doesn't work. What it does work,
- 0:04Speaker 1: it's going to work. It worked in our little setup call.
- 0:07Speaker 1: But like I have, I haven't just insane amount of
- 0:09Speaker 1: static and and I changed the cable. I don't know. Dan. Well, well, well,
- 0:15Speaker 1: well we'll do another session. You might have to come over.
- 0:17Speaker 1: I might. I might bring you another cable and try
- 0:19Speaker 1: it and try the whole thing. Might have to come
- 0:21Speaker 1: over and give me some tech support. All right, guys,
- 0:24Speaker 1: I'm back. Let's have eyes to me. How did your
- 0:29Speaker 1: Star Wars session go? It was great. We had a
- 0:32Speaker 1: great talk about the Empire strikes back. Really well, that's
- 0:37Speaker 1: your favorite one. About to tweet about it? It's the
- 0:39Speaker 1: best one. Do you have a conversation about that too? Yeah.
- 0:42Speaker 1: I think we're finding a good groove. I like it.
- 0:43Speaker 1: I can't wait to release it to the world. I think, Well,
- 0:45Speaker 1: I'm sure people love it. And when is the release
- 0:47Speaker 1: of Plan Me? The fourth? Of course? Fourth? Be with
- 0:53Speaker 1: you guys, always, always, always, yes, Bump, that's your thing.
- 1:00Speaker 1: Doesn't work. But I'm so happy that it doesn't work,
- 1:02Speaker 1: because I haven't feeling a would have stole the episode. Well,
- 1:05Speaker 1: I feel like you're hating on something that I was
- 1:07Speaker 1: very excited about. I'm not hating on it. I think
- 1:10Speaker 1: it's gonna I think it's gonna work. But I think
- 1:12Speaker 1: you have a lot of I'm sensing negativity towards the
- 1:16Speaker 1: sound pad. I have no negativity towards the sound pad.
- 1:21Speaker 1: I have zero negativity towards it. I have very good
- 1:24Speaker 1: self control. Mind you I know you do, yeah, because
- 1:28Speaker 1: I'm I will not abuse the sound pad. I don't
- 1:33Speaker 1: think you would by the way I turned it. You know,
- 1:36Speaker 1: Daniel has it set up so there's sound effects on it,
- 1:38Speaker 1: but you can turn it and then there's like a
- 1:40Speaker 1: zillion drum kits and sound effects and you can just
- 1:43Speaker 1: like dude, you would love it for jazz Lettuce, you
- 1:46Speaker 1: just jam out and like make your own beats. I
- 1:49Speaker 1: love jamming out on jazz Lettuce. Yeah. Can you play drums? No,
- 1:57Speaker 1: but one of your brothers can, right, Everyone my family
- 2:00Speaker 1: can play the drums except for me. I think even
- 2:03Speaker 1: Casey could play the drums. I cannot well on my
- 2:05Speaker 1: life to do list I post on Instagram, I know
- 2:09Speaker 1: like two beats from when I took some lessons in
- 2:12Speaker 1: high school. But and somebody of course wrote on Instagram
- 2:15Speaker 1: like Oh, I used to work at like sam Ash
- 2:18Speaker 1: and that's the one beat everyone can play, and I
- 2:20Speaker 1: had to hear it over and over again. Yeah. Sure,
- 2:22Speaker 1: you know what you should have wrote back to him,
- 2:24Speaker 1: Eat a bag of dicks. Ye, eat a Baker's dozen
- 2:29Speaker 1: of girthy cock. That just doesn't sound appetizing. You know,
- 2:36Speaker 1: the gift of the of the of the girl getting
- 2:38Speaker 1: hot dogs start in her face. I love that give um. Yeah.
- 2:45Speaker 1: So anyway, my one of my life goals, one of
- 2:47Speaker 1: my one of my to do list bucket list items
- 2:51Speaker 1: is to play the drums. I just have to get
- 2:54Speaker 1: an electric kit because I don't want my neighbors to
- 2:56Speaker 1: hate me. Like if I have a pretty quiet neighborhood
- 2:59Speaker 1: and if I got a real drum set, I would
- 3:02Speaker 1: I would feel bad. Okay, so, yes, how are you
- 3:06Speaker 1: gonna I'm great, We're gonna get into this episode and
- 3:08Speaker 1: I want to talk about a lot of things. I'm
- 3:10Speaker 1: gonna say this before we start. Not my favorite episode,
- 3:14Speaker 1: yeah kind of, man. I mean we're coming off the
- 3:16Speaker 1: high of the last one, which was incredible, but we
- 3:20Speaker 1: pulled out all the stops. You know, we got a
- 3:22Speaker 1: really dynamite costar. Yes, cal Turk is in this, cal
- 3:27Speaker 1: Turk is in this and the infamous Call tur hotline,
- 3:31Speaker 1: the Call tur outline. You know, I just gotta be
- 3:35Speaker 1: honest with you. Yeah, not my favorite episode though. Yeah.
- 3:39Speaker 1: I mean it's got a few things in it, but
- 3:42Speaker 1: it's not great. And I think we can't help but
- 3:44Speaker 1: judge you by the fact that we just came off
- 3:45Speaker 1: an episode that we both said was our favorite. I
- 3:47Speaker 1: actually had dinner with Bill and I was sitting there
- 3:50Speaker 1: cracking up with him, like recounting jokes that I didn't
- 3:53Speaker 1: know if he remembered, and we were just sitting there laughing.
- 3:56Speaker 1: Just from that episode. I had him dying with that.
- 3:58Speaker 1: Did you guys have dinner at um? We went to
- 4:03Speaker 1: an outdoor restaurant? How was it? Don't judge me, I
- 4:07Speaker 1: went out to a restaurant. Nobody's judging around. Don't don't
- 4:11Speaker 1: outdoor eat shame me, nobody's shaming anybody. That the numbers
- 4:14Speaker 1: are dropping, people are getting vaccinated, all a crowd, all around,
- 4:19Speaker 1: all around America. I'm, I'm we have reached a milestone.
- 4:22Speaker 1: Though we did reach the five hundred thousand milestone. People
- 4:26Speaker 1: are dead in the US, which is very unfortunate. As
- 4:30Speaker 1: of right now numbers are going down, and yes, we'll
- 4:32Speaker 1: see what's up. And so it happen. Anybody's gonna shame
- 4:35Speaker 1: you for going. I did go to an outdoor restaurant
- 4:37Speaker 1: and I had dinner with with Billiam and um, I
- 4:41Speaker 1: made him laugh for counting jokes from that episode. What
- 4:44Speaker 1: kind of food? Um, I had a salmon with some
- 4:48Speaker 1: pesto sauce. Kind of thing. I have to say. I
- 4:52Speaker 1: listened to another podcast today while I was exercising Boom,
- 4:56Speaker 1: and I gotta say it wasn't It was boring ours?
- 5:00Speaker 1: So why did you listen to it? Because? Um, my
- 5:04Speaker 1: friend told me that they discussed something I would find interesting,
- 5:07Speaker 1: and I thought, okay, I'm gonna give it a shot.
- 5:10Speaker 1: And I was bored, and I thought, this is when
- 5:13Speaker 1: I listen. I know, obviously I'm biased, but when I
- 5:15Speaker 1: listen to our podcast, it's I'm laughing and it's so
- 5:18Speaker 1: silly and they were so serious. I want to be
- 5:20Speaker 1: like guys, right, No, be funny. Casey told me we
- 5:24Speaker 1: were number one today, we're number one. Um on an
- 5:28Speaker 1: ihearts podcast where the number one pod actually last one.
- 5:31Speaker 1: That's what it was of Ihearts podcasts, ironed as many
- 5:35Speaker 1: many popular podcasts, so many, and one of their top
- 5:39Speaker 1: ones is Stuff you Should Know. Indeed, it's called that's
- 5:43Speaker 1: the title of it, Stuff you should Know. You can
- 5:45Speaker 1: guess what the show's about. And uh, and we are
- 5:49Speaker 1: number one um of all of their podcasts by bullshit
- 5:55Speaker 1: bull true true. I'll show you. Yeah, I know, but
- 6:01Speaker 1: my wife be posting things and then be like, maybe
- 6:02Speaker 1: I shouldn't have posted that, Is it true? No, you
- 6:05Speaker 1: know what I'm gonna I'm just gonna say something. The
- 6:07Speaker 1: algorithm on Apple iTunes that ranks podcasts is really bizarre.
- 6:12Speaker 1: I don't really understand it because we're not always so
- 6:14Speaker 1: high on that, but we know we're doing really well
- 6:17Speaker 1: just because we have the inside scoop and Will are overlorded.
- 6:20Speaker 1: iHeart says there's some wacky algorithm. I don't know what
- 6:23Speaker 1: to tell you. I can tell you that Stuff you
- 6:26Speaker 1: Should Know is often in the top of the Apple
- 6:30Speaker 1: iPad podcasts rankings, and you're doing more than them. So
- 6:35Speaker 1: I don't know what goes into their wacky algorithm of
- 6:38Speaker 1: what rates podcasts. Well, it's a mystery. I'm still maybe apples,
- 6:44Speaker 1: maybe apples hat. I feel like there's some intern who's
- 6:46Speaker 1: like yeah, those guys. Yeah, but you know what, I
- 6:48Speaker 1: hated Scrubs when it was on. Dude. Speaking of hating
- 6:51Speaker 1: on Scrubs, dude, when I remember I used to buy
- 6:53Speaker 1: all of his camera equipment from a store in Hollywood.
- 6:56Speaker 1: It's closed down now, but I used to buy all
- 6:59Speaker 1: of this stuff, like for my stop motion animation. And
- 7:02Speaker 1: one day I go to the place and I'm buying
- 7:06Speaker 1: stuff and I'm spending all of this money and the
- 7:09Speaker 1: cash register says, you have a code, and I give
- 7:12Speaker 1: him my code and he clicks it in and on
- 7:16Speaker 1: the screen it said Scrubs sucks. Wow. And I was
- 7:21Speaker 1: like wow what. I was like, that's very intense. That's
- 7:25Speaker 1: so someone work there had put that into the computer.
- 7:28Speaker 1: When my whenever my code was typed in, it would
- 7:31Speaker 1: say Scrubs sucks. And I was like, wow, who works here?
- 7:35Speaker 1: Who would one of your people works here that would
- 7:38Speaker 1: do something that's stupid? And then you for showing me this,
- 7:42Speaker 1: and he was like, I know. I was about to say, man,
- 7:45Speaker 1: I have no idea. I was like, if you want to,
- 7:48Speaker 1: you can get your manager, but you're gonna take all
- 7:51Speaker 1: this shit off my credit card? Now? He was like,
- 7:55Speaker 1: the hell, no eat a dick dude, scrubs a baker's
- 8:00Speaker 1: dozen't of girthy Connor. If you can't say it to
- 8:03Speaker 1: my face, then you really shouldn't be saying it, you
- 8:05Speaker 1: know what I mean. That's how it goes. That's not
- 8:08Speaker 1: really how it goes. Yeah, we did. We had. I
- 8:11Speaker 1: remember watching um the We're watching the Emmy's one Year
- 8:17Speaker 1: and Seth McFarlane I think, was the host and I
- 8:23Speaker 1: we weren't nominated, you know, it was just a normal year.
- 8:27Speaker 1: And the opens with a song the Emmys did sung
- 8:31Speaker 1: by his family guy character. I don't forgot which one
- 8:34Speaker 1: of them that maybe all of them. And I'm like, oh, okay,
- 8:38Speaker 1: this is cute. And and it's sort of you know,
- 8:40Speaker 1: like Seth McFarlane would, he's sort of roasting the shows
- 8:43Speaker 1: and roast with this opening number, and I'm like, oh,
- 8:46Speaker 1: this is cute. And then it gets to a line
- 8:48Speaker 1: that's like and on UNBC we have the lovable Zach
- 8:52Speaker 1: Brath who reminds us that a sitcom doesn't have to
- 8:55Speaker 1: make us laugh. Yeah, but he's a hater dude, Like
- 8:59Speaker 1: I know that was up. I was like, I was
- 9:02Speaker 1: like eating my popcorn, Like wait, what, he's a hater. Dude.
- 9:07Speaker 1: It's all good though, man, you know, that's just how
- 9:10Speaker 1: it goes. There are a lot of that's that's the
- 9:12Speaker 1: funny thing. There are a lot of haters out there
- 9:14Speaker 1: who feel like, you know, I don't mind getting I
- 9:16Speaker 1: don't mind getting roasted, you know, like by a comedian.
- 9:18Speaker 1: I mean, I can handle that. But I agree. I
- 9:21Speaker 1: don't think South McFarland never really liked us. I mean,
- 9:23Speaker 1: he did the White Scrubs Black Scrubs thing, which was fine.
- 9:26Speaker 1: I thought it was that didn't bother me, but he
- 9:28Speaker 1: definitely took a lot of digs out of us. Oh absolutely,
- 9:31Speaker 1: He said he didn't think it was a funny show.
- 9:33Speaker 1: He didn't think we were a funny show. Literally in
- 9:36Speaker 1: like a in I think in one of those street
- 9:41Speaker 1: interviews and stuff like that, asking people on the street,
- 9:44Speaker 1: do you think, yeah, yeah, Scrubs was a funny show,
- 9:46Speaker 1: and somebody said yeah, and he's like, oh you do.
- 9:47Speaker 1: I just don't some shit like that. I don't know
- 9:50Speaker 1: if I'm right. That's an ask Bill question. Well I don't.
- 9:52Speaker 1: I don't care to ask Bill. We don't have to
- 9:54Speaker 1: keep talking about mister McFarlane. Um, but hey, should we
- 9:58Speaker 1: talk about but I love Family Guy. I'm not gonna lie.
- 10:01Speaker 1: I laugh at Family Guy hardcore. I've never watched I mean,
- 10:04Speaker 1: I've seen clips from Family Up, but I've never been
- 10:06Speaker 1: a regular watcher. Wait what, I'm not a teenager or
- 10:10Speaker 1: a huge pothea an appropriate response? You know, Garrett and
- 10:18Speaker 1: Neo wrote on a Family Guy Also, I know, I know,
- 10:22Speaker 1: I know the humor. It's it's it's I'm sure it's it's.
- 10:25Speaker 1: I know a lot of people love it. It's just
- 10:26Speaker 1: not my jam. That's what's up. That's what's up. That's
- 10:31Speaker 1: what's up? Should we get into the show? I wish
- 10:33Speaker 1: I could use my boding. Yeah, why do you count us?
- 10:37Speaker 1: In Baby Girl? Five? Six, seven, eight? Stories about show
- 10:41Speaker 1: we made about a bunch of doctor nurses and he
- 10:48Speaker 1: got stories so gartto around here a Yahoo around here.
- 11:02Speaker 1: I like when you go shamar more on me. I
- 11:04Speaker 1: do like it when you shamar more me sometimes. But
- 11:08Speaker 1: I speaking of baby Girls, I get to say, you're
- 11:10Speaker 1: a wife, and why why are you hitting your forehead?
- 11:15Speaker 1: Is it a famous person? I should know what I mean.
- 11:18Speaker 1: You're using his tag like you're using his What you're
- 11:20Speaker 1: talking about willis he's famous for making Baby Girl famous. Okay, well,
- 11:24Speaker 1: I don't know. I don't know who is he a singer?
- 11:26Speaker 1: I'm being he's an actor. He was on The Young
- 11:29Speaker 1: and the Restless for the longest, right then he went
- 11:32Speaker 1: on to host Soul Train and now he's and then
- 11:35Speaker 1: he went on to be he was on a show
- 11:37Speaker 1: on CBS, and then he left the show, and now
- 11:39Speaker 1: he is on SWAT. He's the star like his own
- 11:42Speaker 1: show on SWAT. He's one of the most handsome men
- 11:44Speaker 1: on the planet. Dude, like like, like, you cannot you
- 11:48Speaker 1: cannot deny, Yeah, you cannot deny his handsomeness at all.
- 11:54Speaker 1: By the way, did you see SNL this week? It
- 11:57Speaker 1: was funny, dude, that local loco looko, he don't know
- 12:03Speaker 1: that now, Loko that you're talking about the video they
- 12:07Speaker 1: made with that woman. I don't know her name yet,
- 12:09Speaker 1: but she's very funny and that video was amazing. Yeah,
- 12:12Speaker 1: and that was like the best thing on SNL, like
- 12:15Speaker 1: in the whole episode. I thought it was great, hilarious.
- 12:17Speaker 1: Look and the way it was shot. Whoever directed it
- 12:20Speaker 1: and shot it did great. Look, it was very funny.
- 12:24Speaker 1: Will you look up her name for me, Joel, I
- 12:25Speaker 1: want to get shot out. She's funny, and that and
- 12:28Speaker 1: and I and if you're listening to this, and what's
- 12:32Speaker 1: her name? Ego Noum. Yeah, well she's a star. She's
- 12:40Speaker 1: the star of a very funny SNL video this week.
- 12:43Speaker 1: And I don't know whoever directed it. Well, she's always
- 12:47Speaker 1: she's always funny on the show too, she always she's
- 12:50Speaker 1: always representing on the show. Well, whoever directed that video? Uh,
- 12:55Speaker 1: if you know them, if you're friends with them, tell
- 12:57Speaker 1: them that. I thought it was incredibly well made. That loco. Look, yeah,
- 13:03Speaker 1: you guys know we're talking about Did you see it?
- 13:05Speaker 1: I did not. I'm looking it up now. But it
- 13:07Speaker 1: features Bad Bunny, so that's pretty good, by the way.
- 13:11Speaker 1: By the way, then the song came on. Now, I
- 13:13Speaker 1: don't know anything about Bad Bunny or the female singer
- 13:18Speaker 1: what's her name? I don't know who the female singer was. No, no, no,
- 13:25Speaker 1: are you talking about the musical guests? The musical guest jo? Well,
- 13:28Speaker 1: will you look up the name Bad Bunny? Bad Bunny
- 13:31Speaker 1: with a guest. I think she's a famous Flamenco singer
- 13:34Speaker 1: or something. And it was amazing. It was in Spanish.
- 13:38Speaker 1: I didn't understand a word. Yeah, Rosalia, you guys, if
- 13:43Speaker 1: you're listening to this, I'm telling you, watch two things
- 13:45Speaker 1: from this week's or I don't know when this airs?
- 13:47Speaker 1: When is this air Thursday? There's from all right from
- 13:50Speaker 1: last last Saturday's UM watch last Saturday. Watched last Saturday's
- 13:55Speaker 1: SNL two things the local video and watch the first
- 13:59Speaker 1: musical performance. Both of them were amazing. I mean I
- 14:03Speaker 1: don't always watch the whole musical act, to be honest.
- 14:06Speaker 1: I sometimes like get a flavor of it and then
- 14:08Speaker 1: skipped to the sketches. Sure, unless I unless I really
- 14:10Speaker 1: know and love the artists. But but Bad Bunny and
- 14:14Speaker 1: ros Rose Rosalia, it was amazing. It was amazing. Yeah,
- 14:21Speaker 1: I didn't know that Bad Bunny was a was a
- 14:23Speaker 1: Hispanic or do I say Latin X too? Well, I'm
- 14:26Speaker 1: so confused. I believe he's from Latin America, so we
- 14:29Speaker 1: can say Latin X. I didn't know that he was
- 14:31Speaker 1: a Latin X rapper. I've just heard his name a lot.
- 14:33Speaker 1: I didn't know that. So yeah, Bad Bad Bunny is
- 14:36Speaker 1: very popular, one of the more popular Latin rappers that
- 14:41Speaker 1: are well, he was great. And the two of them,
- 14:44Speaker 1: I don't know if they're dating but or having sex.
- 14:46Speaker 1: But they need to be because you know, they had
- 14:50Speaker 1: such chemistry and they and Florence told me that that
- 14:54Speaker 1: everyone's all and it's izzy about whether they're hooking up
- 14:57Speaker 1: or not. I don't know if that's true, but but
- 14:59Speaker 1: when you watch them sing to each other, it's like, oh,
- 15:01Speaker 1: you guys need to be fucking. You should be fucking
- 15:05Speaker 1: because they look like that. They sold the shit out
- 15:08Speaker 1: of being in love with each other in the in
- 15:09Speaker 1: the song That's all. That's what's up? All right? Should
- 15:12Speaker 1: in the show? Do we five? Six, seven? Eight? We did?
- 15:14Speaker 1: I did that already, all right, So let's get into it.
- 15:16Speaker 1: Do you have a recap her now you're doing I'm
- 15:18Speaker 1: not doing a recap today because are you like an
- 15:20Speaker 1: athlete who did so many awesome dunks in one game
- 15:26Speaker 1: that the next game they're like, you know what, I'm
- 15:28Speaker 1: not going to dunk this hard in this game. No,
- 15:31Speaker 1: it's just this wasn't necessarily my favorite episode. I can
- 15:34Speaker 1: recap if you know you weren't inspired, you weren't inspired,
- 15:38Speaker 1: this is you know. Uh. I do like the fact
- 15:41Speaker 1: that Julianna Margulies is on the show. I think I
- 15:44Speaker 1: have a very funny story about Julianna Margulies and that
- 15:46Speaker 1: is that the scene in this show, which is at
- 15:48Speaker 1: the very end when she kisses me deeply on my guys,
- 15:51Speaker 1: are tongue kissing for real? Dude? Yeah, we are full on.
- 15:54Speaker 1: This is the one time in my life this has
- 15:55Speaker 1: ever happened in in both working as an actor and
- 16:00Speaker 1: in normal life. I literally just meant that woman when
- 16:04Speaker 1: we shot that scene, I was like, hey, nice to
- 16:06Speaker 1: meet you, so glad you're here. Well, this is awkward
- 16:08Speaker 1: how they schedule it? Yeah, yeah, yeah, I know, Okay,
- 16:10Speaker 1: here we go, and we just fucking went at it
- 16:13Speaker 1: like mega. You could see like tongues, you could see
- 16:17Speaker 1: tongues like hitting the jaw. Well, you know, I think
- 16:20Speaker 1: you know, as a man, you're always kind of letting
- 16:22Speaker 1: the female act. Well I do, And I think, wait,
- 16:26Speaker 1: you didn't laugh at that. You didn't laugh at that
- 16:28Speaker 1: one on Saturday Night Live. But the sex coaches, Hey,
- 16:31Speaker 1: you mind if I tap in for a bit? Hold up?
- 16:33Speaker 1: I was thinking, maybe you just turn over right, how
- 16:36Speaker 1: do you feel about doing it doggy style right here?
- 16:38Speaker 1: You didn't laugh at that? Shin, I didn't see that one, alright. God,
- 16:42Speaker 1: that's him speaking of speaking of you know how nowadays
- 16:45Speaker 1: when you have sex scenes and shows you're talking about
- 16:48Speaker 1: it right now, they have somebody coming in coach. Yeah,
- 16:50Speaker 1: they have to have someone to make sure it's all
- 16:52Speaker 1: safe and kach or So they had two dudes who
- 16:54Speaker 1: were doing the Bridgerton oh for season two and so
- 16:59Speaker 1: he's talking think about so I think then I will
- 17:01Speaker 1: mount her? Yeah, and he goes, hey, uh, you mind
- 17:04Speaker 1: if I tapping niche that's funny. That must have been
- 17:09Speaker 1: after the news, right because it was hilarious. Look, if
- 17:12Speaker 1: you get a chance, watch that one. That should have
- 17:14Speaker 1: me rolling. That's funny. Okay. Anyway, so you guys just
- 17:17Speaker 1: met and you're tongue kissing. Dude, you guys were tongue
- 17:20Speaker 1: kissing so much that you could see you could see
- 17:23Speaker 1: her tongue poking my cheek. Yeah, it looked like it
- 17:26Speaker 1: looked like you had something in your mouth trying to
- 17:27Speaker 1: get out through you. I gotta say that, you know,
- 17:29Speaker 1: when you when you do well, I think I'm speaking
- 17:32Speaker 1: for you and me. I'm not speaking for all male actors,
- 17:34Speaker 1: but you know, you you let the female act You
- 17:37Speaker 1: let your female scene partner take the lead on what
- 17:40Speaker 1: kind of kiss this is gonna be we can if
- 17:42Speaker 1: it's supposed to be passionate, we can just have open
- 17:44Speaker 1: mouths and nothing going back and forth. Let's see where
- 17:46Speaker 1: they're at. Actually, you've told the story when you first
- 17:48Speaker 1: did kiss Judy, she gave you tongue and you were like, ooh,
- 17:51Speaker 1: you're like dragging about it all over the place. The
- 17:53Speaker 1: biggest mistake of my Yes, well, Julianne Margali's came at
- 17:57Speaker 1: me with that tongue and I was like, okay, okay,
- 18:01Speaker 1: Julietta mug it's gonna be like that. So Doug shaves
- 18:08Speaker 1: the the gentleman's afro half of the half of his head. Yeah,
- 18:13Speaker 1: that guy used to be on That guy used to
- 18:15Speaker 1: be on Degrassi High and Degrassi Junior High back in
- 18:18Speaker 1: the day. Yeah. He was funny at a tiny part,
- 18:21Speaker 1: but he was funny. Man. I wonder if I wonder
- 18:24Speaker 1: if Sarah recognized him back then because she was on
- 18:27Speaker 1: She you know, it's a Canadian show, and she was
- 18:29Speaker 1: on it and he was one of the popular characters
- 18:32Speaker 1: on it before it became the one with Drake. So
- 18:35Speaker 1: I wonder if she recognized, Well, if she goes nice
- 18:39Speaker 1: half fro. Yeah, he goes what oh, and then he
- 18:43Speaker 1: and then he reaches up with his left or his
- 18:45Speaker 1: right hand and he's only touching the side that hasn't
- 18:49Speaker 1: been shaved off, and he's like, few, now, Doug, this
- 18:55Speaker 1: is the episode. This is the episode where Doug gets
- 18:57Speaker 1: put away to down to the morgue and he's finally
- 19:01Speaker 1: done hurting people. Yeah, well, it's interesting that all the
- 19:07Speaker 1: people that are up there, he's figuring out how they died,
- 19:11Speaker 1: and they've all died from Doctor's era too. Yeah, and
- 19:14Speaker 1: it's an era about and it's an episode about mel
- 19:16Speaker 1: practice and you know she's about practice attorney and yeah,
- 19:20Speaker 1: one of them is like someone left gloves and but
- 19:23Speaker 1: that's That's the amazing thing is that Doug is like
- 19:26Speaker 1: an expert at diagnosing what who fucked up? How right
- 19:30Speaker 1: and how they did it right because he's done it
- 19:32Speaker 1: to everybody. He's like, are you kidding me? They call
- 19:35Speaker 1: that a dog, But he's like, when you put him
- 19:39Speaker 1: in the morgue, all of a sudden, he's he's a genie.
- 19:41Speaker 1: That's really funny writing. It wasn't just like oh, we'll
- 19:43Speaker 1: sticking the more. It's like, no, in the morgue, he's
- 19:46Speaker 1: like a genius. Right, he's a freaking he's right, he's
- 19:49Speaker 1: he's a right, he becomes freaking rain man. In the more,
- 19:56Speaker 1: Quincy was a medical examiner, right for those of you
- 19:59Speaker 1: not not as all us. That was a TV show
- 20:01Speaker 1: about a medical examiner and he would always figure out
- 20:04Speaker 1: the murder or what happened. Johnny Castle, very funny man. Yeah,
- 20:07Speaker 1: we gotta Johnny Castle on the show and it finally
- 20:10Speaker 1: paid off too. Now, Joel, which one did you book
- 20:13Speaker 1: Richard Kind for? Because he's all over this episode, but
- 20:15Speaker 1: we don't have him today. He's for Freddy, so our
- 20:18Speaker 1: next episode. I confirmed this morning with his continued Great,
- 20:23Speaker 1: this wasn't to be continued. I don't think we've have
- 20:25Speaker 1: we had it to be continued before. Oh, I don't
- 20:28Speaker 1: know the first time I've ever seen it to be
- 20:30Speaker 1: continued in front of That's why I'm thinking. I think
- 20:33Speaker 1: I don't know if we've done that before. Now, all right,
- 20:35Speaker 1: so Doug this so Doug defibrillates Carla. But yeah, she
- 20:41Speaker 1: she I thought I thought it was a fantasy, right,
- 20:43Speaker 1: but it starts off sorry, starts off real, right, I
- 20:48Speaker 1: mean you can't, I mean I should be. I don't
- 20:52Speaker 1: know if it's universal truth. All of you who are
- 20:55Speaker 1: in the medical profession can yell at your phones right now. Uh,
- 20:59Speaker 1: they correct answer, But I know that you can definitely
- 21:02Speaker 1: kill someone by defibrillating them absolutely, And Judy gets Carly
- 21:07Speaker 1: gets thrown across the room. And then we go to
- 21:10Speaker 1: this elaborate fantasy where Sarah and I throw Dug out
- 21:13Speaker 1: of the ICU. He lands, the janitor picks up and
- 21:17Speaker 1: mounts his head. The janitor mounts his head to a wall, right,
- 21:24Speaker 1: but doesn't really kill him. He has to hold the
- 21:26Speaker 1: pose until the janitor finishes reading the paper. Right, And
- 21:30Speaker 1: they said, oh, there was an election recently. I didn't
- 21:32Speaker 1: know that. I guess this is when Obama got elected president?
- 21:36Speaker 1: Is it? There must have been something in election news.
- 21:38Speaker 1: Let me see what was the date of this three right?
- 21:45Speaker 1: It aired November? Yeah, November ninth, oh four? Was that Obama?
- 21:49Speaker 1: God to be right? No, Obama's until eight. I knew that.
- 21:54Speaker 1: Who got elected in the November ninth of four? Bush?
- 21:57Speaker 1: Baby Bush. So let's talk about cal Turk. First of all,
- 22:01Speaker 1: I really laughed at I'm like, why why are you
- 22:03Speaker 1: going to change your number? The way I remember it is?
- 22:14Speaker 1: Have you ever tried to do that. Did you do that?
- 22:16Speaker 1: What I used to try and memorize numbers by what
- 22:19Speaker 1: it's spelled? Really? I never you did it? Inter du
- 22:22Speaker 1: well JD does. But it was like, right, so Bill
- 22:34Speaker 1: makes this phone line. We've told you the story before,
- 22:36Speaker 1: but he actually chose a number. Rather than have five
- 22:39Speaker 1: five five like they do in the movies, he chose
- 22:41Speaker 1: a real They got a real phone number. Now, it
- 22:44Speaker 1: was it cal Turk or was it cal tur It
- 22:48Speaker 1: was call tur So. It was C A L L T.
- 22:51Speaker 1: You are, yes, okay, must have been one one hundred, right.
- 22:55Speaker 1: I don't know what the I don't know what was
- 22:57Speaker 1: it When we were kids. Nine seven six that was
- 22:59Speaker 1: the bad numbers. But you if you if you type
- 23:02Speaker 1: nine seven six, that's when it would be like what
- 23:05Speaker 1: was it? That's how you knew it was like one
- 23:07Speaker 1: of those numbers that charge you like a dollar a second.
- 23:11Speaker 1: I don't know. There's some number you can call it
- 23:13Speaker 1: it calls you back. That's that's Star six six or
- 23:18Speaker 1: something like that. No, Star sixty nine is what you
- 23:19Speaker 1: would die when you want to just call back whoever
- 23:21Speaker 1: called you. I thought that was like who oh is
- 23:24Speaker 1: that what it was? Yeah? If someone called you and
- 23:26Speaker 1: you missed the call um starting, you'd hit star sixty
- 23:30Speaker 1: nine and would call back whoever just called you. They'd
- 23:33Speaker 1: be like hello, Yeah, like who do this? You just
- 23:36Speaker 1: call me? Right? You try to get all tough and stuff. Yeah,
- 23:39Speaker 1: who that's one of this is how you handed the
- 23:43Speaker 1: doing my neighborhood? What is who is it? Um? Yeah?
- 23:48Speaker 1: So that phone would ring NonStop UM in in the
- 23:52Speaker 1: production office and it was just there and if you
- 23:54Speaker 1: were bored, you'd pick it up. I'm talking who called it?
- 23:57Speaker 1: From all around the world. People would call that number,
- 24:00Speaker 1: and I think we told you we put up a
- 24:01Speaker 1: map and we would put a pin in different countries
- 24:04Speaker 1: when they would call, it was just covered with pins.
- 24:07Speaker 1: And did you ever chat with people on there? Donal? Yeah,
- 24:10Speaker 1: a couple of times. I thought it was really interesting
- 24:13Speaker 1: how because of this, Turk decided to play a huge
- 24:18Speaker 1: prank on the janitor because he knew that JD would
- 24:22Speaker 1: love cal called tur so much that he played a
- 24:29Speaker 1: prank on the janitor to where the janitor has I
- 24:33Speaker 1: think it's blamed for having blue handprints all over. Well,
- 24:39Speaker 1: it feels to me it's the first time you as
- 24:42Speaker 1: Turk acknowledged that JD has a problem being stalked by
- 24:45Speaker 1: the janitor, right, and then he decides to prank the
- 24:48Speaker 1: janitor where you're like, I'm gonna do you. It's basically
- 24:52Speaker 1: like you're doing me. Why were you doing me a favor?
- 24:54Speaker 1: I forgot because because I knew you'd like cal turn
- 24:58Speaker 1: called turn? And then why did you do this giant
- 25:01Speaker 1: elaborate like vandalism because I knew you'd like it, and
- 25:05Speaker 1: as a celebration that was a person. Yeah, that's a
- 25:09Speaker 1: weird story. Yeah, but I remember I registered you know,
- 25:12Speaker 1: now that we're watching them all in a row, I
- 25:13Speaker 1: was like, I think this is the first time the
- 25:15Speaker 1: turk is because it's funny, like it's never discussed really
- 25:19Speaker 1: with anyone, that JD is stalked by this guy, right,
- 25:24Speaker 1: and this is the first time that you were like, oh,
- 25:26Speaker 1: I hooked you up with him? Right? Yeah? Right? But
- 25:30Speaker 1: then what you did was pretty you know you you
- 25:32Speaker 1: you painted your handprint all over the place, right, I
- 25:37Speaker 1: mean it's kind of a dickish thing to do to
- 25:38Speaker 1: a janitor. Yeah. And then after I did that, I
- 25:42Speaker 1: got his hands uh blue too, so he would get
- 25:45Speaker 1: the blame for it. Yes, Oh, that's why does Kelso
- 25:51Speaker 1: say something? Now, Yeah, Kelso's like, oh Clark, something like
- 25:56Speaker 1: cutcha or some shit like one of those I don't know, shit,
- 25:59Speaker 1: I don't know. Yeah, it's probably something like catcha um.
- 26:03Speaker 1: I like when you go um when we're talking about
- 26:06Speaker 1: called turn and uh you go. But I'm gonna ask
- 26:09Speaker 1: people to still dial the K even though there is
- 26:12Speaker 1: no can. I'm like, I'll always dial the K right
- 26:16Speaker 1: and that's and that's when he goes, I know you will.
- 26:18Speaker 1: And because of that, I did this for you. I
- 26:21Speaker 1: don't know. It was weird, yep. I like the course
- 26:25Speaker 1: line number to the Nuts. That was very nice. Julianne
- 26:28Speaker 1: Marghalie's does a big chorus line number one, the singular
- 26:33Speaker 1: sensation and little Stem and she she nails all those
- 26:43Speaker 1: guys in the balls. Yeah, including Mickhead. Yeah, she gets
- 26:46Speaker 1: all some of our She gets Mickhead. I thought it
- 26:49Speaker 1: was all stunt man. No, this is these were actually
- 26:51Speaker 1: a lot of these guys were background. They just all
- 26:55Speaker 1: had cups on. I guess I don't know either. I
- 26:58Speaker 1: wonder you get it hasn't pay if or if someone
- 27:00Speaker 1: hits you in the balls. I mean, you're a background performer.
- 27:04Speaker 1: They have things that like get you bumped up, Like, oh,
- 27:07Speaker 1: if you you know, right, did something slightly not level
- 27:12Speaker 1: of stunt, but you did something slightly hazardous, you get
- 27:14Speaker 1: a bump. Getting kicked in the ball should definitely give
- 27:17Speaker 1: you a Yeah. I think getting caned in the balls
- 27:19Speaker 1: by Julianne Margoli's pay me. Yeah, give me some give
- 27:23Speaker 1: me some more money, especially if she's hitting me with
- 27:25Speaker 1: a hard cane. Yeah, that thing didn't look like it
- 27:31Speaker 1: was not hard. It looked like she could. Actually, That's
- 27:35Speaker 1: why I just assumed it was stuntman, because even if
- 27:37Speaker 1: you know, she could miss and nail you in the leg.
- 27:39Speaker 1: But I guess you know, Mickhead's not And it doesn't
- 27:42Speaker 1: It doesn't take much to there's mental You think God
- 27:47Speaker 1: or whoever our creator or evolution would have would have
- 27:51Speaker 1: made the sack harder. It's so fragile, dude. It if
- 27:56Speaker 1: if you're not get hit with anything, and and and
- 27:59Speaker 1: and the impact feels like this sounds you're in so
- 28:05Speaker 1: much pain. Yeah, and you can see it so lightly.
- 28:07Speaker 1: You can if you just hit the right spot, it's
- 28:10Speaker 1: like destroying the death Star Donald. If you just hit
- 28:12Speaker 1: the right spot, that's probably the best death ever, the
- 28:15Speaker 1: Death Star, either the Death Star or being on Alderon
- 28:18Speaker 1: best death ever. So quickly, speaking of things you're you're
- 28:23Speaker 1: obsessed with, Um, that episode of Wanda Vision was amazing.
- 28:28Speaker 1: I loved it right. Oh my god? How about that
- 28:29Speaker 1: song that ends it? I want to I want to
- 28:32Speaker 1: like play the song. It's so good. Do you hear
- 28:35Speaker 1: the trap version of it? No, they've already got remixes? Yea,
- 28:40Speaker 1: so good. They really are changing how TV is made
- 28:45Speaker 1: over there at Disney Man, Like you need a budget now,
- 28:49Speaker 1: like you need a real budget or you ain't making
- 28:51Speaker 1: nothing no more. You know. I think that show is
- 28:54Speaker 1: so good and and I know nothing about like it
- 28:57Speaker 1: makes me that sho put this way. The show is
- 28:59Speaker 1: so good. It makes me more to go back and
- 29:00Speaker 1: watch the movies where they where where there's Vision and
- 29:03Speaker 1: Wanda together. Oh you you know, then you're gonna have
- 29:08Speaker 1: to watch everything because Vision was Jarvis originally, and Jarvis
- 29:12Speaker 1: was the voice in Tony's head. I'm probably don't do that,
- 29:16Speaker 1: but um I I I it's really good. And I
- 29:19Speaker 1: have to shout out Catherine Hahn because she's a Northwestern grad.
- 29:22Speaker 1: She's on the cover of our Northwestern Magazine this month,
- 29:25Speaker 1: and I'm very proud of her. She's so good. And
- 29:29Speaker 1: you know what, when she was just doing her little
- 29:32Speaker 1: supporting stuff, I was still smiling because everybody loves Catherine Han.
- 29:35Speaker 1: And then this episode, when she really had a chance
- 29:38Speaker 1: to shine, I was like, oh my god, that was amazing. Yeah,
- 29:42Speaker 1: she's always been good, babes. Yeah, she's always been good though,
- 29:47Speaker 1: man Like, she's always been just a great actress. And
- 29:50Speaker 1: now you know, she's a marvel. Now she's now she's Yeah,
- 29:54Speaker 1: she's having quite a moment. She's the marble girl now,
- 29:56Speaker 1: I know. But she's just one of those people that everyone,
- 29:58Speaker 1: you know, people might not know her necessarily know her name,
- 30:00Speaker 1: but they see her and they go, oh, I love her.
- 30:02Speaker 1: And now she's like, she's gonna be a household name.
- 30:04Speaker 1: Now she's she's she's she's on fire. I saw that
- 30:07Speaker 1: Julie Bowen, who plays the mom on Modern Family and
- 30:10Speaker 1: is really great and funny, she did a like a
- 30:13Speaker 1: shout out, like, you know, because you know, Elizabeth Olsen
- 30:17Speaker 1: is is playing her in the episode, and uh, and
- 30:21Speaker 1: she did such I gotta just say again, I feel
- 30:23Speaker 1: like Donald going on a rant about a fucking Marvel thing.
- 30:26Speaker 1: But Elizabeth Olsen, yeah, fantastic. Yeah, man, she she is
- 30:31Speaker 1: not just like okay for a for a pretty girl.
- 30:35Speaker 1: She's fantastic. Yeah. And she is changing her acting style
- 30:40Speaker 1: with every episode to match the style of whatever they're
- 30:44Speaker 1: you know, you know, highlighting featuring lampooning. Yeah, whichever era
- 30:48Speaker 1: she's doing, and she does it so well. From that
- 30:50Speaker 1: like Fifties like Happy Go Lucky Wife where she's twirling
- 30:53Speaker 1: in the first episode, all the way down to this
- 30:56Speaker 1: just exhaust like with she like did the whole Julie
- 30:59Speaker 1: Bowen Modern Family thing. It was amazing. It's such a
- 31:05Speaker 1: good what a talent. Yeah, great show. All right, guys,
- 31:09Speaker 1: we're gonna take a break, and then I promise you
- 31:10Speaker 1: we're gonna talk more a television show Scrubs. You write
- 31:14Speaker 1: back and we're, um, what about when I'm explaining the
- 31:27Speaker 1: Heart to Julianna Margalis and I say, it's like a
- 31:31Speaker 1: house and the ventricles are like rooms. And she goes
- 31:36Speaker 1: on this long day like monologue about how like I'm
- 31:39Speaker 1: so much smarter than you. I know everything, don't tell me.
- 31:41Speaker 1: And then I'm like room rooms. Richard kind is back,
- 31:50Speaker 1: I'm stealing qute tips was hilarious. That was funny. I'm
- 31:53Speaker 1: assuming these qute tips are complimentary. I'm very, very happy
- 32:00Speaker 1: that Joel has booked Richard Kind finally on the show,
- 32:05Speaker 1: one of our favorite guest stars ever. And the janitor
- 32:08Speaker 1: is such a jerk for giving Richard Kine Turk and
- 32:12Speaker 1: Carla's address man. And he he docks to you, he
- 32:16Speaker 1: docks to you, Well, you're at you're at dinner and
- 32:20Speaker 1: they're standing, Uh, you're at your dinner and and you
- 32:24Speaker 1: hit your phone rings and she goes, baby, don't answer
- 32:26Speaker 1: your phone. And you go, baby, when you call Turk,
- 32:28Speaker 1: you get Turk. How did you give him? How did
- 32:33Speaker 1: you know my number? He said? The janitor is pretty
- 32:37Speaker 1: good with the dark web. I'm guessing, huh, Well, he's
- 32:40Speaker 1: got access to all of our files. I think we
- 32:43Speaker 1: established that he knows every single thing about us. That's right.
- 32:48Speaker 1: That from the Breakfast Club. That was a great moment
- 32:50Speaker 1: when they when they realized the host snapped. The janitor
- 32:52Speaker 1: has gone through everybody's files and knows do you remember
- 32:57Speaker 1: that in the Breakfast Club the janitor or the or no,
- 33:00Speaker 1: the janitor, the janitor doesn't He goes through everybody's lockers.
- 33:04Speaker 1: He goes through everybody's stuff. Oh so, so then when
- 33:08Speaker 1: right before you're talking the thing you're talking about, when
- 33:10Speaker 1: the janitor sees Richard Kind, he goes, I can help
- 33:15Speaker 1: you if you want If you want to what does
- 33:17Speaker 1: he say? Says something like I can help you, right,
- 33:19Speaker 1: and he goes, I'm listening. This in his great Richard Kind. Boys,
- 33:25Speaker 1: I'm listening. I'm listening. Go on, go one. Mike Schwartz,
- 33:30Speaker 1: the loneliest man alive is funny. And then this first,
- 33:32Speaker 1: probably the funniest thing in the episode. Yeah, first him
- 33:35Speaker 1: touching you and then the two of you bumping each
- 33:37Speaker 1: other at the end and doing Lloyd. I don't know
- 33:39Speaker 1: if he's been named Lloyd yet, but this is the
- 33:42Speaker 1: Mike Schwartz who we've mentioned is one of our favorite
- 33:45Speaker 1: writers on the show, and he wrote a last week's episode,
- 33:49Speaker 1: um the one that I directed, and he plays Lloyd
- 33:52Speaker 1: the I guess he's basically a FedEx guy right without
- 33:56Speaker 1: being a FedEx guy, And this was one of my
- 33:58Speaker 1: Mike had lots of bits. I mean, Mike could have
- 34:00Speaker 1: been a stand up He had so much, so many
- 34:02Speaker 1: funny He was the guy in the writer's room, and
- 34:04Speaker 1: we'd just make everybody die laughing because he was just
- 34:06Speaker 1: constantly doing stick. And one of his things, I think
- 34:10Speaker 1: was this where he said, he said, you want to
- 34:12Speaker 1: see what the loneliest guy in the world looks like.
- 34:14Speaker 1: And then someone just touches his shoulder and he goes
- 34:17Speaker 1: and like like cuddles up to his own shoulder where
- 34:21Speaker 1: he was touched. We had the warmth, right m and
- 34:26Speaker 1: then so that's funny and then and then uh, and
- 34:30Speaker 1: then he cut later and and we both do it.
- 34:34Speaker 1: We bump into each other, bump into him, and we
- 34:37Speaker 1: both simultaneous m turned around and do it at the
- 34:40Speaker 1: same time and then walk away. It was time to Yeah,
- 34:43Speaker 1: so lonely, very funny, so lonely. How about when I'm
- 34:46Speaker 1: putting that's a really funny cutaway when it looks like
- 34:49Speaker 1: I'm sleeping with having sex with this woman in the
- 34:51Speaker 1: beds like shaking and bouncing, and then uh, and then
- 34:54Speaker 1: you reveal that I did it for this beautiful woman,
- 34:57Speaker 1: but she's not even a hook up with me. He
- 35:00Speaker 1: hooks up with a shirtless, ripped guy, right, and I'm like,
- 35:03Speaker 1: why couldn't he have done it? Right? Then you walk
- 35:08Speaker 1: out and then you join Elliott in the closet and
- 35:11Speaker 1: this wasn't a fantasy. They're in the closet making out
- 35:14Speaker 1: and he still doesn't have a shirt on. Yeah, and
- 35:16Speaker 1: I say, dynamite Ariolas. I think that JD is a
- 35:18Speaker 1: real Ariola connoisseur because he's often he loves him Sumaria.
- 35:21Speaker 1: He loves him Sumario. But he's often commenting on male ariolas. Yeah.
- 35:27Speaker 1: I don't know why the character is so appreciative of
- 35:30Speaker 1: a nice male Ariola. When you got him, you got him.
- 35:38Speaker 1: It's just like he's like insecure about his own or something,
- 35:41Speaker 1: because he's always like, oh, look at that guy, like
- 35:43Speaker 1: the guy ripped right, He's like, he's like a muscle builder,
- 35:46Speaker 1: ripped guy who spends every weeking second of his life
- 35:49Speaker 1: in the gym, And all JD notices there's dynamite Ariolas.
- 35:53Speaker 1: That's had to be a freak in which we'll call
- 35:55Speaker 1: improv by that craft. Yeah, I'm sure it was dynamite area. Um,
- 36:05Speaker 1: what's the I'm not I'm not that lone Oh yeah,
- 36:08Speaker 1: I'm not that. I'm not that lonely. Very funny. Wait,
- 36:13Speaker 1: I have a question, So when when Doug is taken
- 36:17Speaker 1: downstairs to investigate these deaths. Those are all malpractice deaths. Yeah, yeah,
- 36:24Speaker 1: not a single death in there that was like, oh,
- 36:27Speaker 1: hematoma or something. It's like, because the initial joke is
- 36:31Speaker 1: that Doug, because he's done all of these things himself,
- 36:34Speaker 1: he's able to diagnose what. How how another fellow doctor
- 36:39Speaker 1: killed this patient. There's five in one day at a
- 36:42Speaker 1: single hospital. Yeah. Not only that, no, well, I mean
- 36:47Speaker 1: it happens a lot of hospitals. But even he even
- 36:50Speaker 1: comes upstairs, back upstairs, and he's like, hey, such and such,
- 36:53Speaker 1: I saw your handiwork in the morgue. Yeah, keep it
- 36:57Speaker 1: looking on his lollipops, keep it up now. Now he's
- 37:01Speaker 1: all cocky. He's got the he's got the all the uh.
- 37:07Speaker 1: You know, carners always have to be eating something, you know.
- 37:10Speaker 1: So our guys had a lollipop. That is. That's interesting
- 37:14Speaker 1: that it's always like that, though, But it's just to
- 37:16Speaker 1: show you how comfortable they are around now. We talked
- 37:18Speaker 1: about it once before. It's like you try and find
- 37:20Speaker 1: the scene with the carner where he's not he or
- 37:22Speaker 1: she is either definitely really odd looking or weird, and
- 37:27Speaker 1: then they give them some quirk and then there's always
- 37:30Speaker 1: something about them eating or they're just so immune to
- 37:35Speaker 1: to to being around a corpse that they're comfortable having
- 37:39Speaker 1: their sandwich pepperoni and cheese sandwich right, which is tasty.
- 37:47Speaker 1: It is good. I gotta say, Donald M. Casey posted,
- 37:50Speaker 1: you both posted videos of your daughter dancing. It's the
- 37:53Speaker 1: cutest thing I've ever seen in my entire life. I
- 37:55Speaker 1: didn't know my daughter could dance like that. She's really good. Yeah,
- 37:58Speaker 1: I didn't know she could dance. And she's so I
- 38:02Speaker 1: don't know, bouncy and that for best in an into it.
- 38:05Speaker 1: She has that. She got that thing. I got a
- 38:07Speaker 1: lot of people hit me up, a lot of I
- 38:09Speaker 1: had dancers hitting me up to tell me, yo, dude,
- 38:12Speaker 1: not bad, Well great so you and she loves it right,
- 38:15Speaker 1: so she can like stick with it. She's a dance
- 38:18Speaker 1: class now. I felt such pride as the godfather watching
- 38:22Speaker 1: her dance. I did too, as her as her real father. Yeah,
- 38:27Speaker 1: I was like, holy cow. I didn't like I knew she.
- 38:30Speaker 1: I knew she could dance and she liked to dance,
- 38:33Speaker 1: but I didn't know she could do choreography. And you know,
- 38:35Speaker 1: she didn't come home and rehearse that at all, you know,
- 38:39Speaker 1: and so I wasn't expecting to see her really dance,
- 38:43Speaker 1: but it's all dances that she can do, like it's
- 38:46Speaker 1: I don't know, man, it's just really it's really surreal
- 38:48Speaker 1: to see your kid do something and you not know
- 38:53Speaker 1: that that talent, you knowing the talent was there, but
- 38:55Speaker 1: not knowing that it was that like that. After while
- 38:59Speaker 1: I was watching it was like, I was like, she's
- 39:00Speaker 1: got that thing. She got there's a little bit of that.
- 39:02Speaker 1: She got a little bit of that thing in her.
- 39:03Speaker 1: She's she's she's really into you know, she's not trying hard,
- 39:07Speaker 1: she's having fun. It's not you know, I loved it. Yeah, man,
- 39:11Speaker 1: she's she's got, she's got and she's just so freaking cute. Man.
- 39:15Speaker 1: Good word, right, good baby, thank you. I wish I
- 39:18Speaker 1: could take all of the credit. That's all my wife.
- 39:20Speaker 1: All Right, we're gonna gonna break and when we come back,
- 39:23Speaker 1: we're gonna talk to an amazing guest that Joel is
- 39:26Speaker 1: curated for all of our listening pleasure, and we're b gurgle.
- 39:40Speaker 1: We don't gurgle anymore, you do, it's a little gurgle.
- 39:43Speaker 1: I don't gurgle anymore. Give it up for Look a Mike,
- 39:47Speaker 1: is that your name? No, No, it's Mike. Hi, Mike,
- 39:58Speaker 1: Welcome in the program. Oh my god, this is so crazy.
- 40:02Speaker 1: I know, it's pretty surreal. I'm sure after listening to
- 40:05Speaker 1: us for a while to see it all happen. This
- 40:07Speaker 1: is Joelle, and there's Daniel, and that's Donald Phase, and
- 40:10Speaker 1: that's the zach Brath. This is me, the zach Brath.
- 40:13Speaker 1: I can't believe I'm live with the Phase on closet.
- 40:17Speaker 1: Are there it is? There's all those sun dresses. Well
- 40:20Speaker 1: there it is a speaking of which we're we're gonna
- 40:25Speaker 1: be doing live from the closet for our for our
- 40:28Speaker 1: live show. It's gonna be exciting, great idea. Um, yeah ahead, Donald,
- 40:34Speaker 1: I can't wait to be in my closet for the
- 40:36Speaker 1: live show in my onesie. I'm really gonna do. Are
- 40:39Speaker 1: you committing to the onesie? Because I'm on the fence
- 40:41Speaker 1: of onesie or suit. Let's let the fans decide. Okay,
- 40:46Speaker 1: we should let us say the fans, amongst telling us
- 40:49Speaker 1: things that you want on the live show, if you
- 40:51Speaker 1: could tell us if you'd rather Donald than I in
- 40:53Speaker 1: onesies or suits, we'd appreciate it. I was also just
- 40:57Speaker 1: recently gifted a T shirt that says mos tove motherfuckers.
- 41:01Speaker 1: I might wear that too. Wow, that's right on. No,
- 41:06Speaker 1: it's not really appropriate. I want to. I want to.
- 41:07Speaker 1: I want to be appropriate. Um, Mike, where where are you?
- 41:10Speaker 1: Colonels from Minneapolis, Minnesota? Yes, sir, is that your accident? Donald?
- 41:17Speaker 1: Is that your Minnesota accent? I was trying my best
- 41:19Speaker 1: to do my Minnesota. By the way, speaking of Midwest accents,
- 41:22Speaker 1: you have to watch Barb and Star go to Vista
- 41:25Speaker 1: del Mar. Is it funny? It's hilarious? Wait hold on,
- 41:29Speaker 1: is it funny the whole movie? Or is it funny
- 41:31Speaker 1: fifteen minutes and that's it. No, I'm telling you it's hilarious.
- 41:34Speaker 1: Now you have to go into it with in a
- 41:37Speaker 1: silly mood. It's like it's like the silliest Will Ferrell
- 41:39Speaker 1: movie you've ever seen, except it's christin wigg Okay, I
- 41:43Speaker 1: mean it's absurd. Donald, get as high as you've ever gotten.
- 41:48Speaker 1: Beat your beat your record. I don't get high like that.
- 41:51Speaker 1: No more, can't point, you can't get hired, and it's
- 41:54Speaker 1: just stopped. Yeah, you stopped. But um, it's I'm like alcohol.
- 41:58Speaker 1: Where you can just like pass out and like, you know, die,
- 42:01Speaker 1: we just kind of like you just kind of like,
- 42:03Speaker 1: oh this this is my Max and then and there
- 42:05Speaker 1: we are. We've reached it. But anyway, it's very funny
- 42:09Speaker 1: and um, it's I mean, it's so silly, but I
- 42:13Speaker 1: laughed out Kristin Wig is so fucking funny. Have you
- 42:15Speaker 1: watched License to Drive yet? No, you just told me
- 42:18Speaker 1: to watch it. I haven't had a chance yet. Can
- 42:20Speaker 1: we focus on Mike? Mike, do you have a question
- 42:22Speaker 1: for Mike's not talking? Mike wanted to be I took over. No,
- 42:25Speaker 1: I took over. Mike wanted to share, and I was
- 42:27Speaker 1: talking about Vista del Mar. Um, Mike, what do you
- 42:31Speaker 1: have a question for us? Sure? Um? Has there been
- 42:35Speaker 1: throughout the filming of Scrubs? Was there ever an episode
- 42:39Speaker 1: or a script that you guys read where the plot
- 42:43Speaker 1: line of the episode helped you out with your own
- 42:47Speaker 1: life in any way, like with an issue you were
- 42:50Speaker 1: having a or a decision you were weighing. Wow, that's
- 42:56Speaker 1: a very question. That's it's a great question. I'm coming
- 43:00Speaker 1: not hard man, No, it's you make us think. I'm
- 43:02Speaker 1: so glad you don't ask like something that We've been
- 43:04Speaker 1: asked one hundred times, that's interesting question. I will say this,
- 43:10Speaker 1: Carla turned out to be the type of relation. Carla
- 43:16Speaker 1: and Turk turned out to be the type of relationship
- 43:18Speaker 1: that I wanted in real life. It wasn't just on television.
- 43:22Speaker 1: And so when I met my wife, my now wife,
- 43:27Speaker 1: I she had a lot of the same type of
- 43:33Speaker 1: I'm not saying she was Carla, but she had the
- 43:35Speaker 1: same type of traits. She was very responsible, but she
- 43:39Speaker 1: was also a ball buster, and I couldn't get away
- 43:41Speaker 1: with doing the things that I would normally do. And
- 43:45Speaker 1: it was very much like what Carla is in real
- 43:48Speaker 1: on the show. She was that in real life. So
- 43:51Speaker 1: that maybe, but as far as like life lessons and
- 43:56Speaker 1: stuff like that, well, I will say that, you know,
- 44:00Speaker 1: very a common theme of the episodes was to um,
- 44:06Speaker 1: you know, live in the moment and and savor your
- 44:09Speaker 1: friendships and and um and you know, I can't do
- 44:13Speaker 1: this all on my own, meaning like I need to
- 44:16Speaker 1: be present to how amazing my my friendships are. And
- 44:20Speaker 1: I think that that, you know, that definitely impacted my life.
- 44:25Speaker 1: I think that, you know, if you act in something
- 44:27Speaker 1: for this long and you're putting out this message week
- 44:30Speaker 1: after week. I think it. I think it's interesting to
- 44:34Speaker 1: think about like that. It it made me really savor, um,
- 44:38Speaker 1: how special my friendships are in my life. Well there's
- 44:41Speaker 1: that and also exact Yeah, I will say that you
- 44:43Speaker 1: and you, Johnny, Sarah Judy, Yeah, that came with the show.
- 44:50Speaker 1: Also Bill Krista that all, uh, that came with the show. Also,
- 44:55Speaker 1: I just I don't know, I can't pinpoint any one
- 44:58Speaker 1: lesson that we had on the show. And we know,
- 45:01Speaker 1: as doing doing the recaps and everything, I can totally
- 45:05Speaker 1: relate to a lot of the things that we've we've
- 45:08Speaker 1: gone through so far, but at the time when we
- 45:11Speaker 1: were making it known, it didn't necessarily I mean, well,
- 45:15Speaker 1: it's hard. It's hard to say, um, Mike, honestly because
- 45:18Speaker 1: there's so many of them. You know. I'm sure if
- 45:21Speaker 1: I looked back, I'd go, oh, you know that that did.
- 45:23Speaker 1: But it's hard to it's hard to do. Like in
- 45:25Speaker 1: a macro way, look at look at what what about you? Daniel?
- 45:29Speaker 1: Daniel You're you're the stand of the group when it
- 45:31Speaker 1: comes to scrubs. Yeah, you gotta why you gotta do
- 45:37Speaker 1: me like that? You do were there in a life
- 45:42Speaker 1: lesson from a particular episode. I mean you okay, sure, yeah,
- 45:48Speaker 1: I got I got one too. And I would say
- 45:51Speaker 1: it was guy love. I would say, especially you know
- 45:53Speaker 1: in my high school, you know, in my high school age,
- 45:57Speaker 1: you know, and we're dredging up some you know, probably
- 46:00Speaker 1: matic feelings, so just you know, preparing everybody for this.
- 46:02Speaker 1: But it was so commonplace just to use the word
- 46:05Speaker 1: gay as a as you know, a bad word to
- 46:08Speaker 1: describe something we didn't like. And it was shows, it
- 46:13Speaker 1: was shows like Scrubs that kind of changed my perspective
- 46:17Speaker 1: on loving your friends and also changed my perspective on
- 46:21Speaker 1: using the word gay as something bad. It was I mean,
- 46:25Speaker 1: of course having having gay friends, and you know, just
- 46:30Speaker 1: trying to adjust my own you know, language as a
- 46:34Speaker 1: stupid ass teenager to not be an offensive jerk all
- 46:37Speaker 1: the time, but also realizing that like being open about
- 46:40Speaker 1: your emotions and being friendly with your guy friends has
- 46:44Speaker 1: nothing to do with any of that, has nothing to
- 46:46Speaker 1: do with sexuality. It's just being friends, and it's just
- 46:50Speaker 1: being open, and it's about you know, being in touch
- 46:53Speaker 1: with your feelings and all of that. And I think
- 46:56Speaker 1: something like guy love was a little bit of like, yeah,
- 46:59Speaker 1: that I relate to that. That's what I'm looking for.
- 47:02Speaker 1: That that is how I feel and like trying to
- 47:04Speaker 1: like suppress that because friends were saying stuff like that's
- 47:07Speaker 1: gay was not only incredibly ignorant and problematic at the time,
- 47:10Speaker 1: but it's just not true. Right, Yeah, Well that's good.
- 47:13Speaker 1: Well I hope we made a difference in in that regard.
- 47:16Speaker 1: I mean, I've we've been told that before. Um you
- 47:19Speaker 1: know that we've that that that that men felt like.
- 47:26Speaker 1: You know, we've always battled, um, you know, we're a
- 47:30Speaker 1: little bit older than you, but we always battled that thing.
- 47:32Speaker 1: We're like, oh, you guys are being so gay, And
- 47:33Speaker 1: it was always this this negative thing, and uh and
- 47:37Speaker 1: and Donald and I aspired and with with Bill's writing
- 47:40Speaker 1: to try and make it make that go away. Where
- 47:43Speaker 1: about your Joel. There's an episode I think it's in
- 47:47Speaker 1: season one where uh Cox just like absolutely reams j
- 47:51Speaker 1: D for like really wanting a mentor and the idea
- 47:57Speaker 1: of like, oh my god, like in high school, I
- 48:00Speaker 1: wanted a mentor so bad. I was like, I'm gonna
- 48:02Speaker 1: be an artist, but I don't know how to like
- 48:04Speaker 1: break into the industry, and it really needs somebody who's
- 48:06Speaker 1: gonna like teach me and guide me, like mold me.
- 48:09Speaker 1: And I like watched every like high art, you know
- 48:14Speaker 1: drama film where like this brilliant person is discovered and
- 48:18Speaker 1: then they're like shaped so that they can like get
- 48:20Speaker 1: on their way, and it was like hearing that basically
- 48:23Speaker 1: you're just gonna have to stand on your own two
- 48:24Speaker 1: feet and figure this shit out was like revolutionary. Like
- 48:28Speaker 1: it's it seems obvious, but it was. It was something
- 48:30Speaker 1: I really needed to hear at a young age so
- 48:33Speaker 1: that I could stop looking for help and just start
- 48:35Speaker 1: doing the things I wanted to do and I want
- 48:38Speaker 1: to being like as a really impactful lesson for me. Yeah,
- 48:44Speaker 1: you're your own mentor you well, oh man, I try
- 48:47Speaker 1: to be you are you aren't working? All right? Mike?
- 48:52Speaker 1: Do you have another question for us? That was a
- 48:53Speaker 1: good one. You made us all think. Um, all right,
- 48:56Speaker 1: how about a fun one now? Yes? Go ahead? If um,
- 49:00Speaker 1: if j D and Turk had a peloton, what would
- 49:07Speaker 1: their user names be and who would their favorite instructors
- 49:11Speaker 1: behin Cody Codys no doubt, and I definitely think Turk
- 49:19Speaker 1: would be would be called brown Bear. Yes, I'd be
- 49:22Speaker 1: called Eagle Rider. Fantastic. It's funny you asked that although
- 49:31Speaker 1: although you know, I think Donald, I think j D
- 49:35Speaker 1: and Turk would definitely be doing all the musical rides.
- 49:37Speaker 1: It would be like I didn't even those. I don't
- 49:44Speaker 1: even do those right, by the way, Yeah, j D
- 49:46Speaker 1: and Turk would have a fucking Peloton B for two
- 49:52Speaker 1: and then you you can you can picture the fucking
- 49:54Speaker 1: scrub shot, right. It would start on Donald and he'd
- 49:57Speaker 1: be peddling his ass off, right, and then it would
- 49:59Speaker 1: Dolly to reveal me and I'm just like doing something else,
- 50:02Speaker 1: like what I'm hungry, eating a sandwich. You know, we
- 50:06Speaker 1: only get one hour to work out together. Oh my god.
- 50:09Speaker 1: If Peloton was a thing when Scrubbs came out, there
- 50:12Speaker 1: definitely would have been a peleton. That's a reboot idea. Right, then,
- 50:18Speaker 1: there you go. We'll tell Bill, We'll tell Bill. Um,
- 50:28Speaker 1: all right, my friend, it is time for Minneapolis's favorite segment.
- 50:33Speaker 1: It's time too fix your live. We were gonna have
- 50:42Speaker 1: the sound machine ready, Mike, you were gonna be our
- 50:43Speaker 1: first guest. Um, you were about to be the first
- 50:47Speaker 1: guest where I have access to the sound machine. But
- 50:50Speaker 1: we had some technical difficulties Danil's gonna have to come over.
- 50:54Speaker 1: I have to come over in your hazmat's suit. Nope,
- 50:56Speaker 1: no problems, all right, you know what? We let up
- 51:02Speaker 1: off the gas. Donald. No, I'm not saying hold on,
- 51:06Speaker 1: I'm not saying. I'm saying the numbers are going down.
- 51:08Speaker 1: Maybe not a hazmat suit, just the mask and the
- 51:12Speaker 1: mask due to double mask, double mask, double double mask.
- 51:16Speaker 1: I'll tell you what. Yeah, you can double mask and
- 51:19Speaker 1: maybe wear some surgical gloves. You watch a Star Wars, Joel,
- 51:23Speaker 1: why are you yelling currently? Oh? Yes, sorry, sorry, we
- 51:28Speaker 1: get a bigger TV. What is that? Rebels? Rebels? Yeah?
- 51:33Speaker 1: Concord is is it Concord Dawn? Is it Concord Dawn?
- 51:40Speaker 1: Turn a real quick? What episode is it? Donald? Oh?
- 51:48Speaker 1: I know the episode. I can tell you right now.
- 51:50Speaker 1: Turn it away so I can tell you real quick.
- 51:52Speaker 1: Ezer Canaan and uh Captain Rex uh Land on an
- 51:57Speaker 1: old base that's occupied by separate tists and a Battle
- 52:01Speaker 1: Droid Supreme Battle Droid is there and they do us
- 52:05Speaker 1: a Clone Wars scenario and at the end of it,
- 52:08Speaker 1: as the resolves, the Battle of the Clone Wars, and
- 52:10Speaker 1: they all come to realize that the Empire is the
- 52:12Speaker 1: common enemy. And just as they realize that, the Empire
- 52:16Speaker 1: shows up and they fight the Empire and Uh escape
- 52:20Speaker 1: with the new Phantom. In that episode, they get the
- 52:22Speaker 1: new Phantom because Ezra lost the Phantom. That is the episode.
- 52:27Speaker 1: Am I right? I am a right, Joel dan lineing
- 52:32Speaker 1: a snore added to my sound. Jell, you're like doing
- 52:40Speaker 1: the show while watching Star Wars Rebels. You really are
- 52:43Speaker 1: Donald's long lost wife. I reel like in another life,
- 52:50Speaker 1: you guys who just pull bong hits and watch fucking
- 52:52Speaker 1: Star Wars the best college roommates. Okay, all right, Mike, Sorry, sorry,
- 53:01Speaker 1: So how can we help you start? We're here to help,
- 53:03Speaker 1: all right. Well, I had sent uh Joel one thing,
- 53:07Speaker 1: and something else has taken its place that is kind
- 53:11Speaker 1: of equal parts terrifying and hilarious. So I have a
- 53:15Speaker 1: nine year old son, So this is probably a little
- 53:19Speaker 1: bit more for for Donald. But I have a nine
- 53:21Speaker 1: year old son, and my wife discovered him recently in
- 53:27Speaker 1: his bed stark naked with a flashlight and her copy
- 53:33Speaker 1: of US Weekly. And so I was more of a
- 53:39Speaker 1: Victoria's Secrets kind of guy. But well, you gotta start somewhere, right,
- 53:43Speaker 1: So us Weekly. It's a funny choice, but it is
- 53:48Speaker 1: all right, No, I'm just wondering. I like it. I
- 53:52Speaker 1: assume the flashlight was because it was nice, but it's funny.
- 53:54Speaker 1: It was daylight, daylight, and he wants he wants to
- 53:57Speaker 1: put a spotlight. It was a nighttime, it wasn't night time.
- 54:00Speaker 1: So um, I am now in that that that terrifying,
- 54:06Speaker 1: you know area of you know, he's nine, Like, do
- 54:11Speaker 1: we start any type of conversation around you know, the
- 54:16Speaker 1: dirty stuff? Well, I mean I think I do. I
- 54:20Speaker 1: don't know how dirty it is either, I think I
- 54:23Speaker 1: think the conversation is I you don't want him to
- 54:29Speaker 1: feel like he's doing anything wrong. That's the most important.
- 54:33Speaker 1: You don't want him to ever associate shame with those
- 54:36Speaker 1: feelings because he doesn't know, you know, remember, I mean
- 54:39Speaker 1: you can remember when you were that. You know, you
- 54:40Speaker 1: don't know what the fuck's going on. You're like going
- 54:42Speaker 1: through all these changes and you know for some kids
- 54:44Speaker 1: it's going to start earlier than others, and you don't
- 54:46Speaker 1: want him to ever. I mean, you're the first, so
- 54:49Speaker 1: you could be you or your wife could be the
- 54:51Speaker 1: first source of shame, and you don't want to go
- 54:55Speaker 1: anywhere near that. You want to make him feel that
- 54:57Speaker 1: it's all normal and okay, are fine, there's nothing wrong
- 55:01Speaker 1: with what you're doing, and it's it's all natural. But
- 55:05Speaker 1: then have a conversation about what it is he's doing
- 55:07Speaker 1: and what you know, and that that's because he could
- 55:11Speaker 1: literally he could have just been butt naked trying to
- 55:14Speaker 1: read a magazine that belonged to you and your wife
- 55:17Speaker 1: and not knowing you, Zach, you never you never know
- 55:21Speaker 1: he's perusing us weekly. Well, he knows that he's he
- 55:25Speaker 1: knows that it's not a comic a book that he's
- 55:27Speaker 1: supposed to read, obviously, so he's hiding and reading it.
- 55:30Speaker 1: I just love gossip Mom. No, but no, but think
- 55:33Speaker 1: about think about I think no, but think about it.
- 55:36Speaker 1: The way him being naked and everything has nothing to
- 55:39Speaker 1: do I don't think that has anything to do with
- 55:41Speaker 1: the book. I think that has everything to do with
- 55:43Speaker 1: the fact that he's only nine years old and there
- 55:46Speaker 1: is no there shouldn't be. You know, at nine years old,
- 55:48Speaker 1: my kid walks around the house naked. He has brothers
- 55:50Speaker 1: and sisters here, and he doesn't care, you know what
- 55:52Speaker 1: I mean, He's seven, you know he doesn't care. I
- 55:55Speaker 1: think at not. I don't. I don't know. I don't
- 55:58Speaker 1: know the circumstances. I don't know what he's saying. He's
- 56:01Speaker 1: I mean, I get a sense what Mike is saying
- 56:02Speaker 1: is like, I know my kid, I know that he
- 56:04Speaker 1: was fascinated with this, and um and what my my
- 56:10Speaker 1: my wife you know, came to me with this and
- 56:13Speaker 1: just said, this is your area. I don't know how
- 56:15Speaker 1: to deal with this. You know, I think a book
- 56:18Speaker 1: can really help you, Mike. I remember my mom, this
- 56:21Speaker 1: is so outdated. Probably I'm sure there's a twenty twenty
- 56:23Speaker 1: one better version, but the one Donald, I don't know
- 56:25Speaker 1: if you had this. It was called What's Happening to Me? No,
- 56:28Speaker 1: I didn't, and um it was all about puberty, um
- 56:33Speaker 1: and and for you know, a children's book, but about
- 56:36Speaker 1: the changes that are going. What are these what's happening
- 56:39Speaker 1: to me? What are these feelings? So I would I would,
- 56:41Speaker 1: I would recommend. And I remember we would laugh at
- 56:43Speaker 1: that book because we were, you know, we were nervous,
- 56:45Speaker 1: and it was like, um, and you don't even have
- 56:48Speaker 1: to you don't even have to read it with the kid.
- 56:50Speaker 1: You could say like, hey man, here's a book we
- 56:52Speaker 1: got you or you know, but anyway, you know, the
- 56:55Speaker 1: book that we had made this it's just for you
- 56:58Speaker 1: the questions, who's your flashlight? No. The book that we
- 57:02Speaker 1: had was called What's Happening to Me? And it in
- 57:05Speaker 1: a funny, kind of irreverent way with funny pictures. It
- 57:09Speaker 1: explained to kids what's happening because they don't it's weird,
- 57:11Speaker 1: they don't know. And God, and we didn't have the internet.
- 57:13Speaker 1: I mean, God, God forbiddies. You know, at least he's
- 57:15Speaker 1: looking at us weekly and not. That's exactly what I'm
- 57:18Speaker 1: to put the parental controls on all your all your shit.
- 57:22Speaker 1: That is. That is the truth right there, because there's
- 57:24Speaker 1: definitely a curiosity brewing, and the last thing you want
- 57:29Speaker 1: is him to find, you know, internet porn. You know,
- 57:37Speaker 1: I think, I really think, And I don't have kids,
- 57:39Speaker 1: so I'm just saying from my own experience and coming
- 57:42Speaker 1: from child psychologist parents, but the only the best thing
- 57:45Speaker 1: you can do is make sure that you and your
- 57:47Speaker 1: wife don't ever embarrass him about any of it. Because
- 57:50Speaker 1: think about when you were a little like you just
- 57:52Speaker 1: you don't know what the hell's going on. You have
- 57:54Speaker 1: all these feelings and all of a sudden, you want
- 57:55Speaker 1: to look at your mom's gossip magazine because there's a
- 57:58Speaker 1: woman in a bathing suit or whatever. I mean. The
- 58:00Speaker 1: Victoria I remember, like the Victoria's Secret Catalog would arrive
- 58:04Speaker 1: and I just remember like looking around and like, oh dude,
- 58:09Speaker 1: that ship came to my room. I used to have
- 58:11Speaker 1: to work at a well, I didn't work. My parents
- 58:14Speaker 1: worked at a theater, and so I used to have
- 58:16Speaker 1: to go with them and sit in the audience and
- 58:19Speaker 1: watch shows. And there was this one show called one Monkey,
- 58:22Speaker 1: Don't Stop, No Show right. And in the play they
- 58:27Speaker 1: look at this book called The Joy of Sex. They
- 58:32Speaker 1: bought the real book. I think I was like nine,
- 58:36Speaker 1: eight or nine maybe even, you know what I mean.
- 58:39Speaker 1: And one night when the play was over and my
- 58:43Speaker 1: dad's packing up and my mom's you know, packing up too,
- 58:47Speaker 1: said let's go find out. Let's go find this Joy
- 58:49Speaker 1: of Sex book. Yeah, I got some reading I want
- 58:52Speaker 1: to do. Let me tell you something right now ahead,
- 58:56Speaker 1: us Weekly ain't got nothing on a Joy Sex. Holy cow,
- 59:02Speaker 1: it was, and it was graphic too, but it was
- 59:05Speaker 1: all art draw It was all drawn in art and
- 59:07Speaker 1: stuff like that. And I'm sitting backstage at my parents'
- 59:10Speaker 1: theater freaking looking at you know, with the slow page
- 59:14Speaker 1: turn with real slow page like the it was all
- 59:19Speaker 1: pictures too, so you know, I curio be happy he
- 59:23Speaker 1: didn't find that, you know what I mean. And he
- 59:25Speaker 1: found reminded me Donald that my parents had a book.
- 59:28Speaker 1: We had a big book shelf, the tons of hundreds
- 59:30Speaker 1: of books. And when I was growing up, I must
- 59:32Speaker 1: have been younger than your son, Mike, and they had
- 59:36Speaker 1: a book called Birth, Birth, and birth was like from
- 59:40Speaker 1: the seventies, like women, you know, like you know everything
- 59:44Speaker 1: you need to know about birth, but it was like
- 59:46Speaker 1: definitely women spread open and you know, preparing for birth.
- 59:52Speaker 1: And I just remember just like lying in the library
- 59:56Speaker 1: just like slow doing slow age turns on birth. And
- 1:00:08Speaker 1: it was so non sexual. I mean, it was like
- 1:00:11Speaker 1: it was like explaining the birthing process to new moms.
- 1:00:15Speaker 1: And I was just like fascinated. But you know it's
- 1:00:20Speaker 1: gonna happen, man, Mike, you know you went through it.
- 1:00:22Speaker 1: It's the changes coming. I recommend a book. I mean,
- 1:00:25Speaker 1: first of all, be honest with him and talk to
- 1:00:27Speaker 1: him like like like you wish you know. I always
- 1:00:30Speaker 1: feel like in these opportunities you have the opportunity to
- 1:00:33Speaker 1: be the best fucking dad you can. You gotta It
- 1:00:35Speaker 1: might be embarrassing, you might cringe a little bit, but
- 1:00:37Speaker 1: you're like, you know what, this is that moment where
- 1:00:40Speaker 1: I get to shine and be like, I'm I don't
- 1:00:42Speaker 1: know how well your dad did it or your mom
- 1:00:44Speaker 1: did it, but like I'm gonna crush this assignment. I'm
- 1:00:46Speaker 1: gonna and like, you know, I'm sure that you can
- 1:00:52Speaker 1: have a straight, honest talk with him where he doesn't
- 1:00:54Speaker 1: feel embarrassed. But then also, I recommend a book because
- 1:00:57Speaker 1: I remember it working for me. I mean, like, because
- 1:00:59Speaker 1: sometimes they don't want like they might want. You can
- 1:01:01Speaker 1: give him some basics to his face and have a
- 1:01:04Speaker 1: frank conversation, but then he might want like a children's
- 1:01:07Speaker 1: book that he can kind of peruse alone. That's like,
- 1:01:09Speaker 1: that's not I'm not embarrassed in front of my my parents, right,
- 1:01:12Speaker 1: what do you think you're the dad? No? I I agree,
- 1:01:18Speaker 1: I don't. I don't think this is a I don't
- 1:01:20Speaker 1: think this is a bad thing. This is an opportunity
- 1:01:22Speaker 1: for you to get to know your son a little
- 1:01:25Speaker 1: bit more, you know what I mean, And so take
- 1:01:27Speaker 1: the opportunity and enjoy. Yeah, I mean, I had always
- 1:01:29Speaker 1: had the intention of being, you know, that rock star
- 1:01:32Speaker 1: dad that has the talk and does it like the
- 1:01:34Speaker 1: perfect way, because my dad never did. I learned on
- 1:01:38Speaker 1: my own. But yeah, um, I was just hoping I
- 1:01:41Speaker 1: had a few more years. But well, Mike, I would say,
- 1:01:44Speaker 1: talk Mike. I would imagine the talk's going to evolve
- 1:01:46Speaker 1: the talk you have when him when he's thirteen. It
- 1:01:48Speaker 1: is probably the different than the talk you're gonna have
- 1:01:50Speaker 1: at nine. But at nine, you can, you can, you
- 1:01:53Speaker 1: can most importantly let him know that he's not it's
- 1:01:55Speaker 1: not weird, He's not. No, you know, I wouldn't you know.
- 1:01:58Speaker 1: I remember like thinking, I remember thinking just like what's
- 1:02:03Speaker 1: you know, what is going on? Like, what is happening?
- 1:02:06Speaker 1: Why does that feel nice? I told you about the
- 1:02:12Speaker 1: Sharper image massager my parents had. I told you that
- 1:02:16Speaker 1: story on the show. I don't know if I want
- 1:02:19Speaker 1: to tell this story. Um, if that Sharper image massager
- 1:02:26Speaker 1: had the ability to ovulate, it would have definitely been pregnant.
- 1:02:38Speaker 1: I just remember I went looking for it once in
- 1:02:41Speaker 1: in the living closet where it always was, and one
- 1:02:43Speaker 1: day I went and like it wasn't there, and I
- 1:02:45Speaker 1: was like, where the fuck is the Sharper image? And
- 1:02:48Speaker 1: my parents had put it on a very high shelf.
- 1:02:51Speaker 1: They had somehow assessed that I was, you know, massaging myself,
- 1:02:59Speaker 1: and they thought that that high shelf was gonna keep
- 1:03:01Speaker 1: me from my little botic lover climb. I climb that
- 1:03:08Speaker 1: fucking shit. Oh my God, got her back down her love?
- 1:03:16Speaker 1: Who we gotta cut this, I'm sure, no, no, no, no,
- 1:03:23Speaker 1: I don't want the world to know that I made
- 1:03:25Speaker 1: it with a sharper image beside. Sorry, funny. All right, Mike,
- 1:03:30Speaker 1: You're welcome, sir, you are so good luck, good luck,
- 1:03:34Speaker 1: give us an update so we know that that it
- 1:03:35Speaker 1: all went well, and and look for some good books.
- 1:03:38Speaker 1: I don't know what the twenty twenty one version of
- 1:03:40Speaker 1: What's Happening to Me is, For all I know there's
- 1:03:42Speaker 1: an updated version of that. But I'm sure there's a
- 1:03:45Speaker 1: lot of parents, man with nine year olds, who who
- 1:03:49Speaker 1: are who are searching for the same book. Um to
- 1:03:52Speaker 1: deal with it. Donald, you have that common man, You're
- 1:03:54Speaker 1: you're your kid's not far away from this. Yeah, man,
- 1:03:59Speaker 1: I'm not really looking forward to it either. All Right, Mike,
- 1:04:04Speaker 1: good luck, you can hang out. We're gonna finish. Yeah,
- 1:04:06Speaker 1: you can hang out because we're done. We did the show.
- 1:04:09Speaker 1: I had one part that I want to bring up
- 1:04:13Speaker 1: again that I want to talk about. At one part
- 1:04:16Speaker 1: in the episode that I want to talk about, and
- 1:04:18Speaker 1: I thought it was very funny where you walk in
- 1:04:21Speaker 1: with Cox and you're like, I'll take the lead on
- 1:04:23Speaker 1: this one, mister Steele first name, man of and Cox goes,
- 1:04:28Speaker 1: You're out. That's it very hard. Oh. Another little bit
- 1:04:33Speaker 1: of trivia is that there's a moment where we're all
- 1:04:36Speaker 1: lying down in a four bedroom me, you and Sarah
- 1:04:40Speaker 1: and a patient and you're hearing all in our heads
- 1:04:44Speaker 1: right yeah, and then the patient. Voice of the patient
- 1:04:49Speaker 1: was Mike Schwartz, the same writer who was the needy
- 1:04:55Speaker 1: FedEx driver. Okay, little trivia for you guys I got
- 1:04:58Speaker 1: from Scrubs Wiki. Is there anything you want to say
- 1:05:01Speaker 1: to the people where we leave, Zach Yam You always
- 1:05:05Speaker 1: say to me, you're always asking me. I'm gonna give
- 1:05:07Speaker 1: you the opportunity you have to. It's a great opportunity
- 1:05:10Speaker 1: to talk to so many people around the world. I
- 1:05:13Speaker 1: want to tell you that I love you and I
- 1:05:16Speaker 1: wish you kindness and love. You know, be the person
- 1:05:22Speaker 1: that when someone lets you merge into traffic, you put
- 1:05:26Speaker 1: your hand up as a as a thank you. Be
- 1:05:29Speaker 1: that person. The other day I encountered someone who wasn't
- 1:05:33Speaker 1: that person. I thought, it's so easy to just give
- 1:05:36Speaker 1: the thanks high five. Be that person. And hey, mark
- 1:05:41Speaker 1: your calendars, because March twenty sixth is gonna be our
- 1:05:44Speaker 1: live show and it's gonna be a lot of fun.
- 1:05:47Speaker 1: We're putting together a whole plan and um, it's going
- 1:05:51Speaker 1: to be it's gonna be special, and we're really excited
- 1:05:54Speaker 1: about it, and we're not just phoning it in. We're
- 1:05:56Speaker 1: gonna really put some effort into it. We'll let you know, Joell.

- 1:06:23Speaker 1: gonna fucking stay up. They will stay up in stadtd's

- 1:06:32Speaker 1: ski town. So they're probably gonna be up partying anybody.
