- 0:56Speaker 1: you by Central Texas Sports Medicine. Coming up, we're gonna
- 1:01Speaker 1: hear from Mike Elko, We're gonna hear from Marcel Reid,
- 1:03Speaker 1: We're gonna hear from Kaylin de Boor at Alabama. And
- 1:07Speaker 1: in the second hour, Rusty and Cease will be here
- 1:11Speaker 1: for the writers round table. Oh and you know what,
- 1:16Speaker 1: I got to get there, But we've got a prize
- 1:19Speaker 1: to give away. We've got our first weekly winner of
- 1:23Speaker 1: the Big Contest, and we'll be doing that here at
- 1:26Speaker 1: some point in this hour, because I'm gonna set it right.
- 1:29Speaker 3: Here, and it's going to want to remind me to
- 1:32Speaker 3: do that.
- 1:34Speaker 4: All right.
- 1:35Speaker 1: It's the Battle of the unbeaten Aggies coming up Saturday
- 1:40Speaker 1: morning at Kyle Field, Utahs State running rough shot over
- 1:47Speaker 1: Texas El Paso. Over the weekend twenty eight to sixteen,
- 1:51Speaker 1: the fighting bronco Minden Halls will be coming here facing
- 1:56Speaker 1: the undefeated Texas A and m Aggies who took down
- 2:01Speaker 1: UTSA on Saturday night. By the way, we'll hear from
- 2:09Speaker 1: coach Elko coming up, but he did say safety Dalton
- 2:12Speaker 1: Brooks should be available this weekend. Marcus Ratcliffe was really
- 2:16Speaker 1: good on Saturday night. Arch Manning says he didn't need
- 2:19Speaker 1: to watch DAYE to know he wasn't very good. I
- 2:22Speaker 1: hold myself to a high standard, said Arch today to reporters.
- 2:27Speaker 1: I've got to play better, got to lead more, got
- 2:30Speaker 1: to get our guys to play well around me, and
- 2:32Speaker 1: ultimately I wasn't good enough. Sarkesian said, I think one
- 2:39Speaker 1: thing that happened a little bit to Arch in this
- 2:40Speaker 1: game can mount on you. You feel like we're not scoring,
- 2:44Speaker 1: or I missed a read, or I missed a throw
- 2:46Speaker 1: when in reality you look at the scoreboard it's still
- 2:49Speaker 1: zero zero. Manning said he settled in in the second half, saying,
- 2:54Speaker 1: I realized we've got to start making plays.
- 2:56Speaker 3: I let it.
- 2:57Speaker 1: Rip a little more. I've got to start at sooner.
- 3:02Speaker 1: The Longhorns HOS San Jose State are one of those
- 3:07Speaker 1: California directional schools. This weekend Tonight, North Carolina TCU close
- 3:14Speaker 1: out the Labor Day college football weekend with Bill Belichick's debut,
- 3:22Speaker 1: and it'll be a star studded event. Former Tar Heels
- 3:30Speaker 1: Michael Jordan, Lawrence Taylor, Julius Peppers, Blake Snell, Chase Rice,
- 3:39Speaker 1: Eric Church will all be on hand, and I'm not
- 3:43Speaker 1: sure if they're coming to see Belichick or his girlfriend.
- 3:47Speaker 1: Florida State thirty one Alabama seventeen, but tragedy struck the
- 3:54Speaker 1: team shortly after the win, as freshman linebacker Ethan Pritchard
- 3:59Speaker 1: was shot in Havana, Florida, Sunday night. Pritchard is listed
- 4:04Speaker 1: in critical but stable condition. The school said. Ethan Pritchard,
- 4:09Speaker 1: a freshman linebacker, is in critical stable condition in the
- 4:13Speaker 1: intensive care unit at a local hospital after suffering a
- 4:18Speaker 1: gunshot wound last night while visiting family in Havana, Florida.
- 4:23Speaker 1: Further updates will be provided as they're available. Lee Corso
- 4:29Speaker 1: went out in style on Saturday. The venerated college football
- 4:34Speaker 1: analyst and headgear picker went six for six and over
- 4:40Speaker 1: five million people watched the last fifteen minutes of his
- 4:46Speaker 1: pregame show on Saturday morning. Also You Went a Hero
- 4:56Speaker 1: Army has won Larry Pickett Junior, a second year cadet
- 5:04Speaker 1: and football player. There is video showing him of pulling
- 5:09Speaker 1: a person out of a burning car following a wreck
- 5:13Speaker 1: over the weekend. Jeff Monkin, the coach, says, Larry's heroic
- 5:18Speaker 1: actions embodied everything we tried to instill in our cadet athletes, Courage, selflessness,
- 5:26Speaker 1: a willingness to put themselves before others. In that critical moment,
- 5:30Speaker 1: he didn't think of himself, only of helping another person
- 5:33Speaker 1: in need. We're incredibly proud of Larry for the way
- 5:37Speaker 1: he represented his family, our Army, football brotherhood, and the
- 5:41Speaker 1: values of West Point. The Rangers break up. The Rangers.
- 5:49Speaker 1: They're two and a half games out of the wild
- 5:51Speaker 1: card spot after sweeping Oakland over the weekend. They are
- 5:58Speaker 1: in Arizona to take on the Diamondbacks tonight, left hander
- 6:03Speaker 1: Patrick Corbin on the mound. The Rangers have won six
- 6:09Speaker 1: in a row and moved five games over five hundred
- 6:13Speaker 1: for the first time in more than three weeks. The
- 6:17Speaker 1: Astros finally won a game. They figured out how to
- 6:21Speaker 1: beat a bad Angels team this afternoon. Actually I still
- 6:25Speaker 1: saw that there was an out left, but it was
- 6:28Speaker 1: eight to three in the ninth inning, Luis, I mean,
- 6:35Speaker 1: I'm sorry. Jose Altuve has homered in that game. The
- 6:38Speaker 1: Rangers and Hunter Brown were shut out yesterday by the
- 6:43Speaker 1: Angels three to nothing. Their leader is down to five
- 6:48Speaker 1: over the Rangers. By the way, let's see, I've got
- 6:55Speaker 1: that down. And by the way, Rangers and Astros play
- 6:59Speaker 1: six games in the month of September, so there's lots
- 7:05Speaker 1: of opportunity for some excitement to go on. They're playing
- 7:10Speaker 1: tennis at the US Open Yannick Center. The number one
- 7:14Speaker 1: seed on court and on the women's side, Coco Goff,
- 7:18Speaker 1: the number three seed, was eliminated by Naomi Osaka six three,
- 7:25Speaker 1: six two this afternoon, and European captain Luke Donald filled
- 7:32Speaker 1: out his twelve man roster for the Ryder Cup later
- 7:37Speaker 1: this month. Shane Lowry, John rom Sepstraka, Victor Hovelin, Ludwig
- 7:45Speaker 1: Oberg and Matt Fitzpatrick all announced as captain's picks for
- 7:52Speaker 1: the tournament. Rory McElroy, Robert McIntyre, Justin Rose, Terrell Hatton,
- 8:01Speaker 1: Tommy Fleetwood, Rasmus Holguard had all already made the list
- 8:07Speaker 1: in qualifying. It will be played September twenty sixth through
- 8:12Speaker 1: twenty eight at Bethpage in New.
- 8:15Speaker 3: York, the forty fifth Writer Cup.
- 8:19Speaker 1: All Right, and I'm sure that you're the New York
- 8:22Speaker 1: fans will be very nice to those European golfers. Okay,
- 8:28Speaker 1: we're going to take a break. We're going to hear
- 8:31Speaker 1: from coach Elko. We're going to hear from embattled Alabama
- 8:35Speaker 1: coach Kaylin de Boor coming up. Uh, We're going to
- 8:40Speaker 1: give away a prize for our first Friday's Fearless winner.
- 8:46Speaker 1: All of that after the final lap brought to you

- 9:23Speaker 6: NASCAR Expinity Series race recap from Portland International Raceway. I'm
- 9:27Speaker 6: Kerrie Murphy. He's done it again. Connor Zilich wins for
- 9:31Speaker 6: the eighth time this season after leading seventy laps on
- 9:35Speaker 6: the day.
- 9:35Speaker 7: Yeah, it's pretty awesome. You know, I didn't expect to
- 9:39Speaker 7: win as many races come.
- 9:40Speaker 8: November and to have eight wins and you know at this.
- 9:44Speaker 9: Point in the year is pretty pretty spectacular.
- 9:46Speaker 10: So yeah, it's been really cool that this entire summer
- 9:48Speaker 10: we've been dominant everywhere we've gone and had.
- 9:50Speaker 8: A chance to win almost every race, and it's just
- 9:52Speaker 8: been up to me to texecute to get a job done. Yeah,
- 9:54Speaker 8: it was.
- 9:55Speaker 11: It was hectic, you know, later its restarts when you
- 9:57Speaker 11: know that you're a dominant car never fun.
- 10:00Speaker 7: We were able to make it work at the end.
- 10:02Speaker 2: I've set a lot of damage and struggle for grim,
- 10:04Speaker 2: you know, to fire off a little bit.
- 10:06Speaker 8: So yeah, I think without damage, it would have been
- 10:08Speaker 8: a little bit easier. But you know, when the eighteen.
- 10:11Speaker 7: Hit me, it really did me a lot.
- 10:12Speaker 12: Well love damage to the right rear and then certainly
- 10:14Speaker 12: didn't help us.
- 10:15Speaker 8: I show up to the track every week and race
- 10:17Speaker 8: like nobody's watching, and you know, I feel like that's
- 10:19Speaker 8: worked for me.
- 10:20Speaker 6: So yeah, I'm going to try not to change.
- 10:22Speaker 13: That and not let the wins affect how I go
- 10:23Speaker 13: about my.
- 10:24Speaker 8: Preparation and how I prepare for you trace, and not
- 10:26Speaker 8: let it affect the way I think that.
- 10:28Speaker 6: William Sawlich was second, followed by Nick Sanchez, Christian Echis,
- 10:32Speaker 6: and Austin Hill rounds out the top five. Your quick
- 10:34Speaker 6: point standing is Connor Zilich is your leader over Justin
- 10:37Speaker 6: Olgeier by twenty points. Next for the NASCAR Xfinity Series

- 12:15Speaker 1: only loss was Auburn and Baylor. Connor Thomas is going

- 13:36Speaker 1: All Right, man, I started out rough.
- 13:43Speaker 3: I mean not good, I mean horrible. I'm morty behind.
- 13:52Speaker 1: But that's okay. As we say every year, it's a marathon.
- 13:57Speaker 1: It's not a sprint. It's a marathon sprint. I'll be fine.
- 14:02Speaker 1: Usually takes me a couple of weeks to get going.
- 14:04Speaker 1: I get to lay of the land. I'll know better
- 14:07Speaker 1: next time.
- 14:08Speaker 3: I think we'll we'll go. So did I mention I
- 14:15Speaker 3: wasn't very good? I wasn't very good.
- 14:18Speaker 1: We've got the writer's round table coming up in the
- 14:20Speaker 1: second hour tomorrow. I have to be away, but don't worry.
- 14:25Speaker 1: Jason and Jordan are gonna hold down the fort for me. Okay,
- 14:31Speaker 1: that's tomorrow. Well of a high school report tomorrow. I
- 14:34Speaker 1: don't know everything that they have planned tomorrow, but I
- 14:36Speaker 1: know they've got stuff playing. I'll be back on Wednesday.
- 14:40Speaker 1: Don't worry about that. I've had to move the interview
- 14:45Speaker 1: with Ranger Doug. I'm still working on that. From writers
- 14:49Speaker 1: in the sky. We will get that done. It may
- 14:52Speaker 1: be as soon as Wednesday. You just have to listen
- 14:55Speaker 1: and follow me on the social media. That'd be Twitter, Instagram, Facebook,
- 15:02Speaker 1: follow me on I don't do TikTok okay, but you
- 15:06Speaker 1: can follow me on the social media and figure out
- 15:08Speaker 1: everything that's going on daily with the program.
- 15:13Speaker 3: Okay.
- 15:14Speaker 1: Earlier today, as he does every Monday of game week,
- 15:18Speaker 1: Mike Elko meets with the media answers her questions. We
- 15:21Speaker 1: carry that live here on the Zone at one thirty
- 15:25Speaker 1: every Monday afternoon. We did so again today. Here is
- 15:31Speaker 1: a little bit of what coach Elko had to say.
- 15:35Speaker 9: Yeah, you know, wrapping up the first one, I think
- 15:38Speaker 9: it played out like a lot of openers played out.
- 15:41Speaker 9: I think there were a lot of positives to draw from,
- 15:43Speaker 9: a lot of things that we did well on both
- 15:46Speaker 9: sides of the ball, and then obviously some areas that
- 15:49Speaker 9: we need to fix and get cleaned up, you know, offensively,
- 15:52Speaker 9: I think we have to look at our consistency of
- 15:54Speaker 9: execution and efficiency. You know, we were able to make
- 15:56Speaker 9: a lot of explosive plays that was great to see
- 16:00Speaker 9: stalled out on some drives that we would like to
- 16:01Speaker 9: have been able to keep going, you know. Defensively, I
- 16:04Speaker 9: thought we did a good job in the passing game
- 16:06Speaker 9: in the past. Defense certainly had that stretch in the
- 16:09Speaker 9: second half where we really put our foot down and
- 16:11Speaker 9: played the way we were supposed to.
- 16:13Speaker 4: But obviously the.
- 16:14Speaker 9: Rushing yards were way too many, and that's an area
- 16:18Speaker 9: of concern that we've got to get fixed. And so
- 16:20Speaker 9: I think we come out of Game one like you
- 16:21Speaker 9: come out of a lot of game ones, excited that
- 16:24Speaker 9: we got the win and excited with a lot of
- 16:26Speaker 9: the things that we did well, but certainly knowing that
- 16:28Speaker 9: growth is going to be real important for us to
- 16:30Speaker 9: go out and continue to have success. From a players
- 16:34Speaker 9: of the Week perspective, our Scout team players of the
- 16:37Speaker 9: week on defense it was Lane Gurky, On offense it
- 16:41Speaker 9: was Eli Morcos, and on special teams it was Luke Braydon,
- 16:44Speaker 9: And so those guys all did a really good job
- 16:46Speaker 9: for us. Offensive Lineman of the Week was Trey Zoon.
- 16:50Speaker 9: Thought he was again really really consistent with what he
- 16:53Speaker 9: did at tackle. Defensively, we went with Tyler Roon yetim
- 16:57Speaker 9: I thought he was disruptive in a in a detackle sense.
- 17:01Speaker 9: You know, sometimes those disruptions show up not necessarily on
- 17:04Speaker 9: the stat sheet, but in some of the things that
- 17:06Speaker 9: he does making plays and recreating.
- 17:08Speaker 4: The line of scrimmage. I thought he did that well.
- 17:11Speaker 9: And then our players of the week Offensively, it was
- 17:13Speaker 9: Mario Kraver eight catches for one hundred and twenty two
- 17:16Speaker 9: yards and two touchdowns. Certainly a nice introduction to Kyle
- 17:19Speaker 9: Field and to our offense. Defensively, we went with Tory
- 17:23Speaker 9: and York who had ten tackles in a TfL and
- 17:25Speaker 9: really played well in the middle of our defense. And
- 17:28Speaker 9: then on special teams we went with Casey Concepcion two
- 17:31Speaker 9: punt returns averaging forty seven yards, obviously based on that
- 17:34Speaker 9: eighty yard touchdown, and so that was kind of the
- 17:36Speaker 9: spark that got things going.
- 17:38Speaker 4: And so that was Week one.
- 17:40Speaker 9: Now it's on to the next right and so excited
- 17:43Speaker 9: to welcome Utah State in here. Aggie's versus Aggies those
- 17:46Speaker 9: matchups are always interesting. It's funny how many times I've
- 17:49Speaker 9: been in a non conference Aggies versus Aggie's matchup. It
- 17:51Speaker 9: seems like we keep setting them up. You know, Bronco
- 17:54Speaker 9: Mendenhall is there now as their head coach. Non Bronco
- 17:58Speaker 9: for a long time following his career, not not as
- 18:01Speaker 9: much personally, but just following his career, and obviously a
- 18:04Speaker 9: tremendously successful.
- 18:05Speaker 4: Head coach, did a great job at BYU.
- 18:08Speaker 9: We coached against him when he was at UVA, when
- 18:10Speaker 9: I was the defensive coordinator at Wake Forest, and so
- 18:12Speaker 9: I've always kind of followed his program from so far.
- 18:14Speaker 9: This will be the first time going against him. In
- 18:18Speaker 9: terms of, you know, trying to put it all together.
- 18:20Speaker 9: It's a little challenging.
- 18:21Speaker 4: You know.
- 18:21Speaker 9: It's they've played one game against the UTEB team they
- 18:24Speaker 9: won last week.
- 18:25Speaker 4: They want to know, but hard.
- 18:27Speaker 9: To get a full feel for what we're kind of
- 18:29Speaker 9: getting into. Defensively, they're a mix between three down and
- 18:32Speaker 9: four down. Their coordinator, Nick Hal has some SEC experience,
- 18:35Speaker 9: was at Vanderbilt with Clark Lee, who obviously I know
- 18:38Speaker 9: very well, you know, was at UVA before that, and so,
- 18:43Speaker 9: but trying to figure out what they're going to be
- 18:45Speaker 9: this year at Utah State when they've only got one
- 18:47Speaker 9: game against a wide open, ten personnel spread team is
- 18:50Speaker 9: a little bit of a challenge, and so trying to
- 18:52Speaker 9: piece together what that will look like, and we're hard
- 18:54Speaker 9: at work at that. Offensively, you know, they're kind of
- 18:57Speaker 9: more of a traditional pro style and so.
- 19:00Speaker 4: We'll have a little bit better feel for that. They're
- 19:02Speaker 4: led by.
- 19:03Speaker 9: Quarterback Bryce and Barnes who we think is a really,
- 19:05Speaker 9: really talented player, another really good group of four.
- 19:07Speaker 4: Quarterback had a big, big week last week.
- 19:10Speaker 9: Throwing and running the football, and so not that he's
- 19:13Speaker 9: a dual threat, but he's a very athletic kid who's
- 19:15Speaker 9: a very capable thrower. Two transfers at running back that
- 19:19Speaker 9: really stand out, Javon Jacobs and Miles Davis from New Mexico.
- 19:23Speaker 4: And from BYU. I think they are their two best
- 19:25Speaker 4: skilled players.
- 19:26Speaker 9: Really talented tight end brock Lane who has been really
- 19:29Speaker 9: productive for them for the last few years. And so
- 19:31Speaker 9: again some skilled players that stand out and will present challenges.
- 19:35Speaker 9: And then obviously they'll come into this environment and certainly
- 19:37Speaker 9: play their best football and be excited to be here.
- 19:39Speaker 4: And so from that we'll kind of opening up to questions.
- 19:43Speaker 13: Coach Rats, what was Dalton Brooks's absence and will be
- 19:48Speaker 13: available for this next game?
- 19:50Speaker 4: Yeah, he'll be available this week.
- 19:51Speaker 13: And I know a little bad a left field, but
- 19:54Speaker 13: you weren't in the area. But what do you remember
- 19:56Speaker 13: about and it's twenty years from Hurri Kanye Katrina, what
- 19:58Speaker 13: do you remember about that time and just being a
- 20:00Speaker 13: coach when those things kind of go up going.
- 20:02Speaker 9: Yeah, you know, certainly devastation, you know, and a lot
- 20:07Speaker 9: of that, the images and the heartbreak. I was not
- 20:11Speaker 9: in this area or region of the country and so
- 20:14Speaker 9: it didn't personally touch me as much as some of
- 20:17Speaker 9: the other things over the years have, but certainly remember
- 20:21Speaker 9: those images and what it looked like, and you know,
- 20:24Speaker 9: just just sad, sad thoughts for everybody who was displaced,
- 20:28Speaker 9: dislodged and it certainly went through it and lost their
- 20:30Speaker 9: life because of it all.
- 20:32Speaker 10: The way in the back dun coach, after watching the tape,
- 20:35Speaker 10: just how would you assess Marcel's comeand of the offense
- 20:38Speaker 10: on Saturday.
- 20:38Speaker 4: Yeah, I thought he did a nice job. I thought
- 20:40Speaker 4: he was comfortable.
- 20:41Speaker 9: I thought he was poised, you know, obviously, like there's
- 20:45Speaker 9: never going to be a week where there's not things
- 20:46Speaker 9: he's gonna wish he had back. That's just going to
- 20:49Speaker 9: be the nature of playing quarterback. But I thought he
- 20:51Speaker 9: delivered some really confident balls across the middle on time.
- 20:55Speaker 9: You know, we talked a lot about that last year,
- 20:57Speaker 9: how we never really felt like the rhythm and timing
- 20:59Speaker 9: of the past in the game got right. I felt
- 21:02Speaker 9: like we felt that a lot better Saturday. You know,
- 21:05Speaker 9: just balls coming out of cuts in rhythm, on time
- 21:07Speaker 9: catch and run opportunities.
- 21:10Speaker 4: Yeah, I think all that stuff was good to see.
- 21:12Speaker 9: Coach will stay in the back Tyler.
- 21:15Speaker 11: Coach you mentioned kind of being a little bit familiar
- 21:17Speaker 11: at least with ranklemenden Hall. How difficult I mean, he's
- 21:21Speaker 11: coming in a new program with so many of their
- 21:23Speaker 11: new transfers. How difficult is that preparing early in the season.
- 21:26Speaker 11: And then what is it about his coaching style that
- 21:29Speaker 11: you've kind of learned and or I guess expect to
- 21:33Speaker 11: prepare for it?
- 21:34Speaker 9: Yeah, I think I think I think these opening games
- 21:36Speaker 9: are more and more challenging every year because between roster scheme,
- 21:41Speaker 9: you just you don't have a great pulse or feel
- 21:44Speaker 9: for what you're getting into. And so we've just kind
- 21:47Speaker 9: of learned how to be ready to adjust and adapt.
- 21:51Speaker 9: I think that's literally what it comes down to so
- 21:53Speaker 9: much in these games. And Yeah, I think I think
- 21:56Speaker 9: he's a tough, hard minded head coach, and I think
- 21:58Speaker 9: his teams kind of show that there's a blue collar
- 22:00Speaker 9: toughness about how they play. There's uh, they play extremely hard,
- 22:04Speaker 9: they play extremely physical, you know, and they're very disciplined.
- 22:08Speaker 13: Coach to the right one.
- 22:12Speaker 17: Yeah, Mike, you know, go back and looking at it again. Yeah,
- 22:16Speaker 17: there's some issues in run defense. But I was wondering
- 22:20Speaker 17: how much encouragement is there. At the same time, I
- 22:22Speaker 17: think it was like ninety percent of the places y'all
- 22:25Speaker 17: had them held them to about two yards of carry.
- 22:28Speaker 17: But it's just the four or five plays that made
- 22:30Speaker 17: a big difference.
- 22:31Speaker 4: Yeah, what I told the guys is.
- 22:33Speaker 9: This, It's it's at some point we have to realize
- 22:37Speaker 9: that that's really all that ever is is those four
- 22:40Speaker 9: or five plays, and and the urgency to be correct
- 22:45Speaker 9: and right every single snap is what differentiates you from
- 22:49Speaker 9: being elite and average and bad on defense. And that's
- 22:53Speaker 9: just this day and age, and that's how it works.
- 22:55Speaker 9: And so regardless of who you play, regardless of what
- 22:59Speaker 9: it looks like, we're really good when we do things
- 23:02Speaker 9: the way we're capable of it, and we're really bad
- 23:04Speaker 9: when we don't. And we've got to figure out again
- 23:08Speaker 9: how to get the really good to be more consistent.
- 23:11Speaker 10: Which so the left first, just a couple other personnel
- 23:16Speaker 10: updates on Jordan Shaw and Tiger Riding.
- 23:18Speaker 4: Yeah, so Tiger's back now healthy.
- 23:22Speaker 9: Tiger got in a car crash this summer and so
- 23:25Speaker 9: he's just kind of been dealing with the ill effects
- 23:27Speaker 9: of that, and so he was actually cleared today. He's
- 23:30Speaker 9: been practicing, but today was the first day he was
- 23:32Speaker 9: like fully cleared, and so we would anticipate him being
- 23:34Speaker 9: able to address this week and starting to work his way.
- 23:37Speaker 4: Back into the rhythm.
- 23:39Speaker 9: Shaw's dealing with a little bit of a lower body
- 23:41Speaker 9: injury and so he's kind of day to day, game
- 23:44Speaker 9: to game. We'll see if we can get him out
- 23:46Speaker 9: there this week. We're hopeful, but he's just continuing to
- 23:49Speaker 9: progress and get better.
- 23:50Speaker 10: And then you've mentioned Mission twelve before. I'm just curious
- 23:53Speaker 10: just the heart and intent behind that and just how
- 23:56Speaker 10: you feel like that that program has gone since y'all
- 23:58Speaker 10: have implemented it.
- 23:59Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 24:00Speaker 9: I think one of the things that we've tried to
- 24:03Speaker 9: do here is build a complete program, and part of
- 24:06Speaker 9: that is the way we're able to enhance our student
- 24:09Speaker 9: athlete experience and the way we're able to enhance their lives.
- 24:12Speaker 9: And I think that matters. And I've said this on
- 24:14Speaker 9: multiple occasions, regardless of how many rules change, how much
- 24:19Speaker 9: money gets involved in this, how much nil gets involved
- 24:22Speaker 9: in this, at the end of the day, we're still
- 24:24Speaker 9: taking an eighteen year old away from home for the
- 24:26Speaker 9: first time in his life, and part of our job
- 24:29Speaker 9: is to develop them into men.
- 24:31Speaker 4: And that's kind of what Mission twelve is rooted in.
- 24:34Speaker 9: It's our ability to help these young people grow and
- 24:37Speaker 9: develop in ways outside of football. And so it's a
- 24:41Speaker 9: program that means a lot to me. It's a program
- 24:43Speaker 9: that we put together at Duke and developed. It's something
- 24:46Speaker 9: that we immediately got started when we got here and
- 24:48Speaker 9: got it off the ground. Finally this summer to the
- 24:50Speaker 9: level we wanted it, and I think it'll only continue
- 24:53Speaker 9: to grow as we move forward.
- 24:55Speaker 13: Which will stay front.
- 24:57Speaker 18: But you talked about some of the guys that were
- 24:58Speaker 18: absent in week one. How'd you out of Week one?
- 25:00Speaker 18: As far as the guys who did play moving into week.
- 25:02Speaker 4: Two, Yeah, they're all fine.
- 25:06Speaker 1: There was a little there was a little chuckle after
- 25:08Speaker 1: that answer to Tony's question.
- 25:11Speaker 3: They're all fine.
- 25:12Speaker 1: So, yeah, you've got the early kickoff on on Saturday morning. Great,
- 25:23Speaker 1: crowd Saturday night over one hundred and seven thousand, I
- 25:27Speaker 1: think the sixth largest crowd. It was full, it was sro.
- 25:33Speaker 1: I don't think it will be like that this Saturday.
- 25:37Speaker 1: I mean they'll be a good crowd, don't get me wrong,
- 25:40Speaker 1: but the eleven game against Utah State probably not as much.
- 25:47Speaker 1: We're going to spend time with the writers coming up
- 25:50Speaker 1: talking about the weekend that was in college football. It's
- 25:55Speaker 1: not quite over. It ends this evening with TCU and
- 25:59Speaker 1: North Carolina. The Bill Belichick era beginning in Chapel Hill.
- 26:06Speaker 1: It will be My question is over under number of
- 26:13Speaker 1: crowd shots of Belichick's girl friend the over under on that?
- 26:23Speaker 1: And will she be on the sideline with him? I mean,
- 26:27Speaker 1: she's been a practice, she's you know what I'm saying.
- 26:31Speaker 1: Will she be on the sideline with Bill? And if so,
- 26:34Speaker 1: will she be dressed appropriately or inappropriately? My guests will
- 26:41Speaker 1: be inappropriately Whether in the stands a box?
- 26:45Speaker 3: Do they have a box at the stadium in North Carolina?
- 26:47Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 26:50Speaker 1: That will be That will be the issue tonight for
- 26:53Speaker 1: Belichick against the horn Frogs of TCU. That's a national
- 26:59Speaker 1: TV game. T she use a slight favorite in that game.
- 27:03Speaker 1: Some of the slight favorites did not do quite as
- 27:07Speaker 1: well over the weekend. I thought it was a really
- 27:13Speaker 1: good weekend of college football. It was a fun weekend
- 27:16Speaker 1: of college football. Uh for for most of us, it
- 27:20Speaker 1: wasn't a fun weekend for Alabama. We're gonna hear from
- 27:23Speaker 1: Kayla to Boor coming up in just a minute. The
- 27:26Speaker 1: very bad news is they just got run out of
- 27:29Speaker 1: Dolt Campbell Stadium on Saturday. The good news is they
- 27:33Speaker 1: played Louisiana Monroe on Saturday. The bad news is if
- 27:41Speaker 1: they play like they played against Florida State, Louisiana Monroe
- 27:45Speaker 1: could give them fits. But we will we will hear
- 27:49Speaker 1: from the embattled Alabama coach. And by the way, I
- 27:53Speaker 1: you don't have to remind me Alabama was my pick
- 27:57Speaker 1: to win.
- 27:57Speaker 3: The SEC.
- 27:59Speaker 19: So well.
- 28:00Speaker 3: In other words, all last week was horrible.
- 28:04Speaker 1: Last Tuesday, I picked Alabama to win the SEC, and
- 28:10Speaker 1: then over the weekend I just get creamed in the
- 28:13Speaker 1: picking contests, both of them, the prog pole of the
- 28:17Speaker 1: Eagle and my own. And would I like to rethink that, Yes,
- 28:25Speaker 1: I would like to rethink that because I don't know
- 28:29Speaker 1: what's going on down there. But it's not good. And
- 28:37Speaker 1: I maintained that Kellen Deer bores a heck of a
- 28:39Speaker 1: football coach. But you know what, not every coach is
- 28:44Speaker 1: a great fit for every particular place. I don't know
- 28:49Speaker 1: what the coaches that would be a fit following Nick
- 28:52Speaker 1: Saban quite frankly, but the phrase is, you never want
- 28:59Speaker 1: to follow a legend. You want to follow the guy
- 29:02Speaker 1: who follows the legend. So and apparently I think Pau
- 29:09Speaker 1: I heard this on Pau right before we went on
- 29:11Speaker 1: the air. He has a seventy million dollar buyout. Did
- 29:15Speaker 1: I hear that correctly? A seventy million dollar buyout?
- 29:23Speaker 8: Whoo.
- 29:25Speaker 1: Alabama doesn't have that kind of money. Believe it or not,
- 29:28Speaker 1: they don't. They don't have a Phil Knight in Tuscaloosa.
- 29:33Speaker 1: And now they're saying, hey, that's part of the issue.
- 29:36Speaker 1: They don't have as many good players. They don't true
- 29:40Speaker 1: have as many good players. I have some good players.
- 29:44Speaker 1: I don't know if it's enough. We're gonna We're gonna
- 29:48Speaker 1: find out it's only one game. Only one game. Tell
- 29:53Speaker 1: that to the people in Tuscaloosa. Hey, my friends at

- 30:40Speaker 1: a holiday and you didn't work, so you've been sitting
- 30:43Speaker 1: in that chair watching football since Thursday night. I know
- 30:47Speaker 1: because I've been right there with you. I have gotten
- 30:50Speaker 1: up a few times, and I did come to work today.
- 30:52Speaker 1: I want that on record. What I'm getting to is

- 32:55Speaker 4: Shell Time.
- 32:57Speaker 1: What have you here on any edition? I'm looking at
- 33:02Speaker 1: those famous honeydew drinks at the US Open. Talked to
- 33:07Speaker 1: Scott Tribally about that last week. They're only twenty three dollars,
- 33:12Speaker 1: but man, they're good. Apparently you can make them at
- 33:16Speaker 1: home for less than a dollar. Probably.
- 33:23Speaker 3: I'm just saying they look pretty good.
- 33:25Speaker 1: This afternoon Labor Day in New York. Okay, we mentioned
- 33:30Speaker 1: earlier it was not a great start for Kaitlin de
- 33:35Speaker 1: Bore year two at Alabama. They went to Florida State
- 33:40Speaker 1: and they got punked. They got beaten like a tied
- 33:45Speaker 1: up goat on Saturday afternoon. Now, I think Florida State's
- 33:51Speaker 1: pretty good. I think their quarterback's pretty good. I think
- 33:55Speaker 1: their line of scrimmage is pretty good, which, by the way,
- 33:59Speaker 1: all of all I'll watch this weekend.
- 34:03Speaker 3: Line of scrimmage.
- 34:05Speaker 1: Quarterback play. You make mistakes, you're gonna get beat. Right,
- 34:12Speaker 1: you do stupid stuff, you're gonna get beat. You go
- 34:16Speaker 1: half stepping into any game, you're gonna get beat. That's
- 34:19Speaker 1: college football. And I tell you what else I've seen.
- 34:24Speaker 1: There has been a consolidation of talent from the schools
- 34:29Speaker 1: that are willing to spend money. Right, there is a
- 34:33Speaker 1: growing and it's gonna get wider. Discrepancy and I'm gonna
- 34:37Speaker 1: talk to the writers about this about the haves and
- 34:41Speaker 1: the have not There's always been haves and haves have
- 34:44Speaker 1: nots in college football, though there always will be. Okay,
- 34:48Speaker 1: I think it's gonna get worse from what I've seen.
- 34:51Speaker 1: All Right, let's hear from Kayland Boor today in Tuscaloosa.
- 34:57Speaker 22: I guess first of all, I just want to send
- 34:59Speaker 22: a con violence is out to Leroy Jordan's family, just
- 35:03Speaker 22: uh with the passing over the weekend, and so just
- 35:07Speaker 22: I know, huge part of this program and in the past.
- 35:09Speaker 22: Here then, and I want to send from our from
- 35:13Speaker 22: our coaching staff and our team our condolences, and then
- 35:16Speaker 22: just hitting up the injury updates because I know you
- 35:18Speaker 22: guys will ask on those. Uh Ja, Mary and Latham
- 35:22Speaker 22: had a lower body injury. You know, we'll see how
- 35:25Speaker 22: he progresses, will be day to day throughout this week.
- 35:29Speaker 22: And then Isaiah Horton, you know, really proud of the
- 35:31Speaker 22: way he fought through uh a lower body injury that
- 35:35Speaker 22: he had, but just kept fighting through. Saturday was certainly limited,
- 35:40Speaker 22: still feeling that a little bit, but he just continued
- 35:44Speaker 22: to compete.
- 35:44Speaker 7: And he's someone.
- 35:45Speaker 22: That it doesn't surprise me that that's what we saw.
- 35:48Speaker 22: But you know he'll be we expecting to be full
- 35:50Speaker 22: go by the end of the week. We'll build up,
- 35:53Speaker 22: you know, as he as he can tolerate here early on.
- 35:56Speaker 22: But Ryan, we'll go through the concussion pro call throughout
- 36:00Speaker 22: the week. You know, he'll have a day to day situation.
- 36:03Speaker 22: Jade Roberts, I think everyone probably saw last week he
- 36:06Speaker 22: was he was fully cleared. He's been out there on
- 36:09Speaker 22: the practice field for some time now, but just for
- 36:12Speaker 22: everyone to feel good and taking you know, full goal reps.
- 36:17Speaker 7: He traveled.
- 36:18Speaker 22: He could gone in the game if we needed to,
- 36:21Speaker 22: but didn't, didn't have him play out there. Tim Keenan
- 36:27Speaker 22: will be week to week, just kind of moving forward,
- 36:29Speaker 22: but he'll still be out this week and then Jim
- 36:31Speaker 22: Miller still week to week, coming along real nicely with
- 36:35Speaker 22: his progression. So optimistic there here in the short, short future.
- 36:41Speaker 7: Just start with that chase on the far left.
- 36:46Speaker 23: I most if not all coaching staffs when they great
- 36:49Speaker 23: individual players that they tracked loafs or instances of lack
- 36:53Speaker 23: of effort. Did you see much of that when you
- 36:54Speaker 23: looked at film on the defensive side of the ball.
- 36:58Speaker 22: Yeah, there's you know, we're certainly disappointed enough. Some effort
- 37:03Speaker 22: situations that happened. I think they came in different different ways,
- 37:08Speaker 22: and some of it's just flat out gotta gotta gotta pursue,
- 37:12Speaker 22: gotta get there, and uh, you know, it's it's it
- 37:17Speaker 22: surprises you sometimes when it happens, especially with certain guys
- 37:21Speaker 22: because of the effort that they put in day in
- 37:23Speaker 22: and day out. But you know, and I think there
- 37:26Speaker 22: were some other things that come across as you know,
- 37:30Speaker 22: hesitancy as a way I kind of put it. I
- 37:32Speaker 22: think after the game probably would follow that up and
- 37:35Speaker 22: say that there was a couple of times where we
- 37:37Speaker 22: just got to be quicker to get to a spot
- 37:40Speaker 22: and do our job. You know, it might be setting
- 37:43Speaker 22: an edge and just again hesitant with the communication kind
- 37:48Speaker 22: of confirming or just you know, we believe and have
- 37:51Speaker 22: that confidence in what we're doing. There really wasn't much
- 37:54Speaker 22: it was really I think I spoke maybe that there
- 37:56Speaker 22: was a couple of looks that we hadn't really practiced.
- 37:58Speaker 7: I don't really feel like there was really that at all.
- 38:01Speaker 22: After watching the film, I thought we did a good
- 38:03Speaker 22: job preparing.
- 38:04Speaker 7: I thought the guys had a great week.
- 38:06Speaker 22: Uh now you just gotta you know, translate the numbers
- 38:09Speaker 22: that you see on the football field that were in
- 38:11Speaker 22: different jerseys, uh, and believe that that scheme, those x's
- 38:15Speaker 22: and o's that you saw in your week of preparation
- 38:18Speaker 22: is who it is in a Florida State uniform. And
- 38:22Speaker 22: you know, just I think you saw it. As the
- 38:24Speaker 22: second half went along, they started really kind of get
- 38:28Speaker 22: into it. It was too late, you know. It just put
- 38:30Speaker 22: us behind the eight ball. Now you gotta be perfect
- 38:33Speaker 22: and everything you do and put us, you know, put
- 38:36Speaker 22: us in a spot where we had to play catch
- 38:38Speaker 22: up and.
- 38:38Speaker 7: On the road. That's uh, that's certainly hard to do.
- 38:41Speaker 22: And you know those guys were feeling it, uh there
- 38:43Speaker 22: with Florida State. You know it's a chance for them.
- 38:45Speaker 22: And you know, again together as a team, we got
- 38:49Speaker 22: to find a way to overcome one.
- 38:52Speaker 4: Side of the ball.
- 38:53Speaker 22: When you need that drive for a touchdown, getting it
- 38:55Speaker 22: done defensively, when you can get that big stop, getting
- 38:58Speaker 22: it getting it taken care of right there, we intot
- 39:01Speaker 22: our way back in the game.
- 39:03Speaker 7: That's what you got to.
- 39:04Speaker 22: Do when you have a seventeen point deficit. Again, we
- 39:06Speaker 22: shouldn't get to that spot, but inch in our way.
- 39:10Speaker 22: You know, something that we did better than I've felt
- 39:12Speaker 22: in the offseason. We've talked about, you know, the Oklahoma
- 39:15Speaker 22: game last year and how you got to try to
- 39:17Speaker 22: get seven points and make it close and put some
- 39:19Speaker 22: pressure on them. And we were right there, you know,
- 39:22Speaker 22: twenty four to seventeen. Really we should have the ball
- 39:25Speaker 22: third and eleven, you know, on defense with nine minutes
- 39:28Speaker 22: to go, and you know just how far we had
- 39:31Speaker 22: come in that probably previous ten to fifteen minutes of
- 39:35Speaker 22: the game. You know, I felt I'd have felt like, man,
- 39:38Speaker 22: this this thing's gonna happen, you know, and that there's
- 39:40Speaker 22: a real belief and confidence that I think was building
- 39:42Speaker 22: on the sideline. So just got to finish. You got
- 39:45Speaker 22: to get the stops. It comes back to just that effort.
- 39:47Speaker 22: But it has to happen from the very first play.
- 39:52Speaker 23: You're kind of sticking with that when you say you're
- 39:54Speaker 23: surprised by some of the lack of effort or intensity
- 39:57Speaker 23: from the players, You're expecting that from what do you
- 40:00Speaker 23: do to kind of combat that moving forward?
- 40:02Speaker 22: Yeah, I mean these guys, these guys, they're great kids,
- 40:07Speaker 22: they got high character, they believe, they want it bad,
- 40:11Speaker 22: and so it's just showing them and you know a
- 40:18Speaker 22: lot of times they already know, and you know, making
- 40:21Speaker 22: sure that, you know, we continue to be intentional. That's
- 40:25Speaker 22: a word that I use a lot, and it's gonna
- 40:27Speaker 22: be something I use a lot more this week again,
- 40:31Speaker 22: just be intentional on what we're trying to accomplish with
- 40:35Speaker 22: quality reps, you know, and making sure that every rep
- 40:39Speaker 22: is done at a high level, from you know, the
- 40:42Speaker 22: effort to the execution, staying the vie side will.
- 40:46Speaker 4: Go to bed.
- 40:48Speaker 17: Yeah, before he got hurt, Ryan Wings working inside more
- 40:51Speaker 17: a little bit.
- 40:52Speaker 23: How would you assess what he did and where he
- 40:53Speaker 23: could continue to improve once he gets back.
- 40:56Speaker 22: Yeah, I think we'll continue to you know, work figure
- 41:00Speaker 22: that out. You know, there's been so many bright moments
- 41:04Speaker 22: with him inside. He never really got going, you know,
- 41:08Speaker 22: in the game before getting hurt, and so you know,
- 41:12Speaker 22: we'll continue to have to make sure we're moving him around.
- 41:16Speaker 4: And you know.
- 41:17Speaker 22: Last year he had had a great season, you know,
- 41:20Speaker 22: and and a good foundation as far as us understanding
- 41:23Speaker 22: what he can do on the outside. We really felt
- 41:26Speaker 22: like what we'd again what we had seen, especially in
- 41:28Speaker 22: the fall limited practices in the spring, but in the
- 41:31Speaker 22: fall really liked how he could get matchups in our
- 41:35Speaker 22: favor and really pose some problems. You know, you can
- 41:38Speaker 22: get him from one side of the field to the other,
- 41:40Speaker 22: you can get him deep, you can get him you know,
- 41:41Speaker 22: out in the flat quick, and so there's a lot
- 41:43Speaker 22: of different directions he can go, you know, you know,
- 41:47Speaker 22: get the ball and even in the run game a
- 41:49Speaker 22: little bit. You know, So we'll keep assessing that, you know,
- 41:53Speaker 22: as we go through here, and you know, this week
- 41:55Speaker 22: will be a little trickier again with him getting limited opportunities,
- 41:57Speaker 22: but that's going to allow someone else to step up,
- 41:59Speaker 22: and you know, it's kind of continue to figure out
- 42:01Speaker 22: the dynamics of how we feel best with our receiving
- 42:04Speaker 22: core and the people that should be out there in
- 42:06Speaker 22: those spots.
- 42:07Speaker 1: That's Kaylin de Boor. You're not gonna get screaming and
- 42:11Speaker 1: cussing from Kaylin de Boor. I'm sure that's what Alabama
- 42:16Speaker 1: fans want right now, right because that's what they had
- 42:20Speaker 1: for fifteen years and it worked. But that didn't work
- 42:24Speaker 1: for everybody. Uh, he's won a lot of games being
- 42:28Speaker 1: Kaylin de Boor. Is he in the wrong spot? Maybe
- 42:35Speaker 1: we'll see there was a you know, there's all kinds
- 42:41Speaker 1: of things that come out after this. I saw a
- 42:43Speaker 1: quote on the internet. Guy quoting a fellow coach is saying, man,
- 42:46Speaker 1: I went up to visit him in Washington, and I'm
- 42:50Speaker 1: thinking to myself, he has got it so good up here.
- 42:52Speaker 3: There's no pressure up here.
- 42:56Speaker 1: Well guess what there is now? Tomorrow, Jason and Jared
- 43:02Speaker 1: are going to be here. They're filling in. I have
- 43:06Speaker 1: to be out for a day. I will be back
- 43:08Speaker 1: on Wednesday, but Jason and Jared are taking over tomorrow.
- 43:13Speaker 1: We've got to the writer's round table coming up here
- 43:15Speaker 1: in about twenty minutes, so you need to stay tuned
- 43:17Speaker 1: for that. We're going to hear from Marcel Reid when
- 43:19Speaker 1: we come back. The Astros Report, which was from last
- 43:24Speaker 1: night's game. The Astros have already played another one this afternoon.

- 44:42Speaker 12: The Houston Astros were unable to score yesterday as they
- 44:45Speaker 12: lost to the Angels three to nothing. Oswald broz I
- 44:48Speaker 12: got the scoring going in the fifth with the solo shot,
- 44:51Speaker 12: and the Angels score two more in the eight. It
- 44:54Speaker 12: was a great outing for Houston's Hunter Brown as he
- 44:57Speaker 12: went six innings allowing just three hits in one run,
- 45:00Speaker 12: but it was Jose Sritano who stole the show, going
- 45:03Speaker 12: seven scoreless innings of one hit baseball striking out eight.
- 45:08Speaker 12: The Astros have now lost two story games to the Angels,
- 45:11Speaker 12: but still hold a two game lead over the Mariners
- 45:14Speaker 12: in a four and a half game lead over the
- 45:16Speaker 12: Rangers in the AOST. Today they'll go for the series
- 45:19Speaker 12: split as Luis Garcia takes the Hill, and after the
- 45:22Speaker 12: Angels they'll play the Yankees, followed by the Rangers. First
- 45:26Speaker 12: pitch today is scheduled for one ten. With your Houston

- 46:03Speaker 1: Oh, I got seven women on my thanks for joining
- 46:08Speaker 1: us here on a Monday. The Astros did win this
- 46:13Speaker 1: afternoon and fought for that split against those tough LA Angels,
- 46:20Speaker 1: eight three to the final al twove with a two
- 46:23Speaker 1: run homer and a single furious with a homer Luis
- 46:27Speaker 1: Garcia gainst the win, Astros eight and three, two and
- 46:32Speaker 1: a half up on Seattle, five up on the Rangers
- 46:37Speaker 1: in the West. All right, as promised, let's hear from
- 46:41Speaker 1: Aggie quarterback Marcel Reid and his postgame comments after the
- 46:46Speaker 1: win Saturday night.
- 46:48Speaker 25: What can you say about your two new receivers, Casey
- 46:51Speaker 25: and Mario and what they were able to do for
- 46:53Speaker 25: you tonight?
- 46:54Speaker 26: The same thing I said over the summer. I mean,
- 46:56Speaker 26: we'd have an explosive receiver room this season, and you
- 47:00Speaker 26: know they showed that. I mean, I got them the
- 47:02Speaker 26: ball probably five yards off the line of scrimmers and
- 47:04Speaker 26: they turned them thirty forty yard plays. And that's what
- 47:07Speaker 26: they can do when they get the ball. They' slippery
- 47:09Speaker 26: and people got to make open field tackles and you
- 47:11Speaker 26: know they couldn't do that tonight, and they showed and
- 47:14Speaker 26: we kind of dominated on that part.
- 47:15Speaker 27: We'll go second row on the left side to Alex.
- 47:17Speaker 10: A lot of bubble screens with those guys. Just what
- 47:20Speaker 10: is it about kind of their skill set and how
- 47:22Speaker 10: you guys feel y'all are able to utilize that kind
- 47:24Speaker 10: of route concept.
- 47:25Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 47:25Speaker 26: I mean those guys are fast, they're quick, they're twitchy,
- 47:28Speaker 26: and you know, we talked about getting the ball week.
- 47:30Speaker 26: You know, Coach Klin talked about, you know, we have
- 47:33Speaker 26: bubbles the whole game, and you know, we wouldn't be
- 47:37Speaker 26: mad if we threw ten and.
- 47:40Speaker 7: Got to gain a five or to play.
- 47:42Speaker 26: But you know, it seemed like that every bowle we
- 47:45Speaker 26: threw was ten or more yards. So you know, we
- 47:48Speaker 26: just kept doing it until they could stop it.
- 47:49Speaker 7: And they couldn't.
- 47:50Speaker 10: So how would you just assess the way you played,
- 47:53Speaker 10: particularly the way you threw the ball.
- 47:58Speaker 26: I think I did all right. You know there are
- 48:00Speaker 26: some players I miss. Obviously Casey was wide open on
- 48:03Speaker 26: one of those balls. I think the wind kind of
- 48:04Speaker 26: caught it.
- 48:06Speaker 7: Also.
- 48:06Speaker 26: I was a little bit juiced, kind of let it fly,
- 48:08Speaker 26: but kind of mad about that one. But I think
- 48:13Speaker 26: I did pretty well overall. You know, it kind of
- 48:16Speaker 26: took us some adjusting to do. They didn't come out
- 48:18Speaker 26: and what we expected him to come out to, so,
- 48:21Speaker 26: you know, first two drives were kind of adjusting to
- 48:23Speaker 26: the coverages and what they were playing because that's not
- 48:26Speaker 26: what they showed on film. We kind of had to
- 48:27Speaker 26: change our game plan a little bit. But you know,
- 48:29Speaker 26: once we got rolling, we got rolling, We'll.
- 48:31Speaker 27: Go Fron on the right side to Travis and then Tony.
- 48:33Speaker 13: Yet to that end, how difficult was it to kind
- 48:35Speaker 13: of game plan for the coverages when they have ten
- 48:38Speaker 13: new guys coming in like that?
- 48:40Speaker 26: Yeah, I mean it's not too hard to game plan for,
- 48:44Speaker 26: you know, the type of defense that they play when
- 48:45Speaker 26: they have the same kind of coach, but you know,
- 48:48Speaker 26: with new players and maybe they could try something different.
- 48:50Speaker 26: But obviously we don't have film on that going into preparation. So,
- 48:54Speaker 26: like I said, we just had to adjust in the
- 48:55Speaker 26: middle of the game, and we did that, and once
- 48:58Speaker 26: we did, you know, play started to happen for us.
- 49:01Speaker 13: And how would you rate how just kind of the
- 49:02Speaker 13: offense ticked along as a whole through the game.
- 49:05Speaker 26: Yeah, I think, you know, the passing game, I think
- 49:08Speaker 26: we did a lot better than we've done previously and
- 49:11Speaker 26: what we was shown previously. Obviously in the run game,
- 49:14Speaker 26: we got to get moving. I got to cut back
- 49:15Speaker 26: on penalties, have way too many, and that put us
- 49:18Speaker 26: in some third and long situations to where they could
- 49:20Speaker 26: kind of attack with an uppercut and send pressure would
- 49:24Speaker 26: cover two so you know, we just got to stop that,
- 49:27Speaker 26: and then obviously we got to be better in the
- 49:29Speaker 26: run game.
- 49:30Speaker 27: We'll stay on that front road to Tony.
- 49:32Speaker 18: Marcell, obviously receptions to eleven different guys, You guys are
- 49:35Speaker 18: known for being a running team, but what is a
- 49:37Speaker 18: passing performance like tonight in just how many different ways
- 49:40Speaker 18: you guys are be able to tack them with the
- 49:41Speaker 18: vertical game and how like how much does that help
- 49:43Speaker 18: you guys moving forward?
- 49:45Speaker 26: Yeah, I mean it obviously helps when they have so
- 49:46Speaker 26: many guys they have to stop. I mean we have,
- 49:49Speaker 26: you know, four great tight ends, you know, six great
- 49:52Speaker 26: ride receivers, and obviously got four four great running backs.
- 49:55Speaker 7: I can get the ball and check down too.
- 49:56Speaker 26: So you know, they got a lot of people to cover,
- 49:59Speaker 26: and you know, if they can't cover them all, then
- 50:01Speaker 26: I'm gonna get the ball to him. If they can,
- 50:03Speaker 26: then I'm gonna run myself. But uh, you know, they
- 50:05Speaker 26: have to they have to choose, they have to play,
- 50:08Speaker 26: and you know, we're kind of taking advantage of that.
- 50:10Speaker 26: And I'm glad we got all these guys out of
- 50:12Speaker 26: the portal. Uh, some guys can go for this team.
- 50:15Speaker 26: And I'm really excited to just see, you know, how
- 50:17Speaker 26: we progress throughout the season.
- 50:19Speaker 27: We'll go front on the left side to Mark Marcel.
- 50:22Speaker 25: You've seen what Mario and Casey can do all spring,
- 50:25Speaker 25: you seen it all summer.
- 50:26Speaker 20: But how much fun was to see those guys turn
- 50:28Speaker 20: up field and go when it really mattered to cront
- 50:31Speaker 20: of one hundred thousand people.
- 50:32Speaker 7: I mean it was amazing.
- 50:33Speaker 26: Uh just watching case on that punt, I mean I
- 50:37Speaker 26: was like that kind of that.
- 50:39Speaker 7: Gave us a spark we needed for the game. And
- 50:41Speaker 7: you know it was just that Dude's crazy, that dude.
- 50:45Speaker 26: I haven't seen a punt return like that since a
- 50:47Speaker 26: nice Smith's been here, So you know, it's great watching
- 50:50Speaker 26: him do that. And then Rio, like I said, you
- 50:52Speaker 26: throw him the ball behind the line of scrimmage and
- 50:54Speaker 26: he go turned into sixty yard game. I mean, you
- 50:57Speaker 26: can't ask for anything better. So, uh, great expect for
- 51:00Speaker 26: those guys. I mean, they're great players and I'm happy
- 51:01Speaker 26: they're on my team.
- 51:03Speaker 27: We'll go through drawing the left side.
- 51:06Speaker 6: So what has made you most proud of your development
- 51:08Speaker 6: for yourself as a player, From you know, last December
- 51:11Speaker 6: against USC to now this season open and opener against UTSA.
- 51:16Speaker 26: I mean I feel like just it's maybe most proud
- 51:18Speaker 26: is probably my leadership. I mean, you know, I'm able
- 51:20Speaker 26: to communicate with these.
- 51:21Speaker 7: Guys a little bit better.
- 51:23Speaker 26: Uh, you know, getting receivers in the film room with coaches,
- 51:26Speaker 26: just trying to get that extra connection, build that connection
- 51:30Speaker 26: with everybody, and uh, you know, find ways to you know,
- 51:33Speaker 26: get the ball in their hands. Like I said, you know,
- 51:35Speaker 26: we watch every week just to understand each other's minds,
- 51:39Speaker 26: what we're thinking on each play. Uh, and then you know,
- 51:42Speaker 26: gaining the trust everybody. I think everybody's come so close
- 51:46Speaker 26: together since we've been in this offense for a whole year,
- 51:49Speaker 26: and uh, you know, we've got a veteran O line, uh,
- 51:52Speaker 26: some veteran running backs, and you know, it's just it's
- 51:55Speaker 26: special to have a team that has been together for
- 51:57Speaker 26: so long, h but in a system for so little,
- 52:01Speaker 26: and you know, we're kind of just all bonding together,
- 52:04Speaker 26: learning something new and having fun with it.
- 52:08Speaker 27: We'll go back to TV row on the left side
- 52:09Speaker 27: to Parker mentioned you haven't seen punt returns like that
- 52:12Speaker 27: since and nyas almost two people that can do that with.
- 52:17Speaker 16: Terry and Casey.
- 52:18Speaker 10: How does that factor in the explosiveness of that return
- 52:23Speaker 10: squad and just maybe what that brings to the table
- 52:25Speaker 10: for this team.
- 52:26Speaker 7: Yeah, I'll tell you what it brings to the table.
- 52:28Speaker 7: Great field position.
- 52:30Speaker 26: Terry almost took back two and he had one in
- 52:34Speaker 26: the kickoff return too, So I mean, I mean great athletes.
- 52:38Speaker 26: You know, if they have the ball in space, they
- 52:40Speaker 26: can make something happen. And it's just amazing that I
- 52:42Speaker 26: get to sit back and watch those guys work because
- 52:45Speaker 26: you see it every day. You've seen it since the spring,
- 52:47Speaker 26: in the summer and fall camp, and just really excited
- 52:51Speaker 26: that we have such.
- 52:52Speaker 7: A great group.
- 52:53Speaker 27: We'll go front row on the right side to Carter.
- 52:56Speaker 4: Marcel.
- 52:57Speaker 28: You talked about Craver and Casey and even before where
- 53:00Speaker 28: you get the ball to their hands. Just how much
- 53:01Speaker 28: does it help speed up the timing and and maybe
- 53:04Speaker 28: the spacing. Just how different it might feel now compared
- 53:07Speaker 28: to maybe last season.
- 53:09Speaker 7: Yeah, the separation is a lot different.
- 53:11Speaker 26: You know, like I said, we watched film together and
- 53:13Speaker 26: you know, getting in spaces, it's it's kind of, you know,
- 53:18Speaker 26: just a timing thing for us now. And you know
- 53:21Speaker 26: you've seen on that Digrell out through the ball. I
- 53:23Speaker 26: didn't even know where case he was. I just knew
- 53:24Speaker 26: where he was gonna be and you know, he made
- 53:26Speaker 26: a great catch. We had an exposive to play on
- 53:27Speaker 26: a third and long, and you know, they kept the
- 53:30Speaker 26: drive going. But you know, things like that is what
- 53:33Speaker 26: makes this group so special. And you know, like I said,
- 53:37Speaker 26: I'm really excited just to see how we progress throughout
- 53:39Speaker 26: the season.
- 53:40Speaker 28: And you guys didn't get the run game quite going tonight.
- 53:43Speaker 28: But just what are your kind of expectations going forward
- 53:46Speaker 28: for that and maybe what kept you guys from really
- 53:48Speaker 28: popping off from the run.

- 54:04Speaker 26: and you know we didn't get quite adjusted.
- 54:06Speaker 7: And also just the penalties.
- 54:08Speaker 26: I mean, we had some good runs, but you know
- 54:10Speaker 26: a lot of them were taken back because of holding calls.
- 54:13Speaker 26: So you know that that takes back on yardage. It
- 54:15Speaker 26: makes us look worse than you know what we were tonight,
- 54:18Speaker 26: But we got to clean that up.
