- 0:04Speaker 1: Welcome back to Artists on Artists on Artists on Artists.
- 0:07Speaker 1: This week, perhaps you're in the grocery store checkout aisle,
- 0:11Speaker 1: and you see a book that catches your eye. This
- 0:13Speaker 1: week we're talking to romanticy novelists.
- 0:17Speaker 2: The largest current genre in all of literature. Romanticy combines
- 0:22Speaker 2: the high fantastical worlds of fantasy with the nasty, dirty,
- 0:27Speaker 2: perverse world of romance. We sit down with these very, very,
- 0:32Speaker 2: very talented alchemists who put together those two key ingredients
- 0:37Speaker 2: and make the magic.
- 0:39Speaker 3: You lap up like a dog.
- 0:41Speaker 4: So get your shardnay and your weighted blanket and let's listen.
- 0:45Speaker 3: In Wow, I cannot believe all of us in the
- 0:51Speaker 3: same room together.
- 0:52Speaker 1: What a wonderful meeting of the mines this is.
- 0:58Speaker 3: It is just so nice, This is amazing. I'm so
- 1:02Speaker 3: excited to dive into the work today.
- 1:06Speaker 1: I'm such a big fan of all of your works.
- 1:09Speaker 5: Of course, of course.
- 1:11Speaker 1: This is of course, it's so wonderful to see authors
- 1:15Speaker 1: and to see what makes them tick, you know, And
- 1:18Speaker 1: I confess I'm not much of a person for the stage,
- 1:22Speaker 1: of course, but but this is a wonderful chance to
- 1:25Speaker 1: talk about what we love. The most.
- 1:28Speaker 6: But you have such presence here. That's what I really
- 1:31Speaker 6: noted at the last convention. Such presence, and you really
- 1:36Speaker 6: feel that in your novel.
- 1:37Speaker 1: Oh, thank you so much, Thank you very much.
- 1:42Speaker 3: It's an undenialle Charlie.
- 1:46Speaker 1: I really appreciate that very much.
- 1:50Speaker 3: Should we go around, I believe the book is on.
- 1:56Speaker 7: The side jackets. You could probably have regular This is
- 2:00Speaker 7: from the pictures on the jacket.
- 2:01Speaker 1: Yes, do we look like book jackets.
- 2:04Speaker 7: Let's do our jacket faces, Shelly.
- 2:06Speaker 6: Yes, the headshots of people who don't normally get their
- 2:10Speaker 6: foot is.
- 2:13Speaker 1: I can't wait to dive into that.
- 2:14Speaker 3: Okay, let's go around and introduce ourselves, you know, and
- 2:18Speaker 3: so people can put a name to the face.
- 2:20Speaker 6: Wonderful.
- 2:22Speaker 3: Hi guys, my name is Jackson Dark.
- 2:29Speaker 1: Bravo.
- 2:29Speaker 3: Is it my real name. You'll have to get to
- 2:32Speaker 3: know me to find out. I am a romantic rider.
- 2:37Speaker 3: I focus on the Dragon, the fairy, and the fryman
- 2:44Speaker 3: classic the genre. Let me take it back, that's not
- 2:51Speaker 3: that's the name of.
- 2:56Speaker 8: You, guys.
- 2:57Speaker 3: Are you guys are starting to roast the jag, Dragon,
- 3:02Speaker 3: the ferry, and the friend. It's not a genre. It's
- 3:07Speaker 3: the name of the first book. That started on for me.
- 3:11Speaker 3: It's part of my Cosmic Light series twenty book series
- 3:18Speaker 3: in which my main characters run around my little made
- 3:22Speaker 3: up world called full Blank for blank is a magical
- 3:26Speaker 3: place where a lot of things happen, and a fryman
- 3:30Speaker 3: just so happens to stumble into it.
- 3:32Speaker 6: Oh yes, the odd.
- 3:35Speaker 7: In the real world we called it's a line cook
- 3:38Speaker 7: and the fan is of course a person that comes
- 3:41Speaker 7: in and.
- 3:44Speaker 3: Yeah, it's so amazing.
- 3:46Speaker 4: You're sitting around here with a bunch of people who
- 3:48Speaker 4: are God you are gone with.
- 3:55Speaker 3: I love your work.
- 3:56Speaker 4: I think I did a little bit of an endorsement
- 3:59Speaker 4: on one of the back of warri them thank.
- 4:01Speaker 3: You, Yes you wrote, oh wow, yes.
- 4:04Speaker 7: Yes, you actually are part of all you will have
- 4:07Speaker 7: I think on all the back of our book you
- 4:09Speaker 7: have all.
- 4:09Speaker 1: Yes, I got an oh good from you.
- 4:12Speaker 6: Yes, I got a great at points.
- 4:15Speaker 7: I got a what is this thing?
- 4:18Speaker 4: My publisher says, don't give them your writing for free,
- 4:22Speaker 4: for peach sake, So that's why I kind of just
- 4:25Speaker 4: give a word.
- 4:27Speaker 1: You're letting the name do the work, of course.
- 4:29Speaker 3: So that's me Jack Dork, Jackson Dark.
- 4:32Speaker 6: Go ahead, I'm Kisses Stoneley, kiss of Yes. You know,
- 4:42Speaker 6: I've written about four different series now that take place
- 4:46Speaker 6: in worlds inspired by the by the elements. Yes, we
- 4:51Speaker 6: have a water world and it's sort of and we
- 4:55Speaker 6: have a fire world, which is sort of Those are
- 4:58Speaker 6: the volcano Fey, which of course trademarked. Then we have
- 5:02Speaker 6: the Earth world, which is mostly humanoid animals sort of
- 5:06Speaker 6: like a sexual animal situation. And then we have the
- 5:10Speaker 6: Air world, which is just birds, regular birds. And I
- 5:13Speaker 6: actually want an award for my creative writing in that
- 5:16Speaker 6: because there are no actual human English language speakers in
- 5:21Speaker 6: the book, which just sort of a bunch of CAUs
- 5:23Speaker 6: and squeaks.
- 5:24Speaker 3: The way that you translated it and made it feel
- 5:28Speaker 3: so special, how to capture a mocking bird's coca?
- 5:32Speaker 1: And I don't want to put you on the spot,
- 5:34Speaker 1: but I have a passage from that book that I
- 5:38Speaker 1: love and it's all cause but I understood it perfectly,
- 5:43Speaker 1: and it is it is sensual and it is delightful.
- 5:46Speaker 1: When you read that start of chapter two, I think
- 5:48Speaker 1: you know what I mean.
- 5:49Speaker 6: Yes, so this is when they enter the bird Kingdom,
- 5:52Speaker 6: which is of course a tue. Oh and sort of
- 6:07Speaker 6: when I wrote that, I'm really glad it resonated with
- 6:10Speaker 6: you because I was channeling my second divorce when I
- 6:12Speaker 6: wrote that, and.
- 6:15Speaker 7: I was wondering, if it was possible, could you tell
- 6:18Speaker 7: us how you spilled that?
- 6:20Speaker 6: Absolutely, So there's a lot of seas involved. Yeah, there's
- 6:25Speaker 6: a lot of c's and there are some case and
- 6:28Speaker 6: even from time to time I put a vowel between
- 6:30Speaker 6: the two. And that's what I call writing.
- 6:34Speaker 3: A little bit of cat cock cat cocky.
- 6:36Speaker 6: There's a lot of cack and.
- 6:38Speaker 5: Cock in my novels.
- 6:41Speaker 3: Between A and A kick cock kick that one that
- 6:51Speaker 3: we left.
- 6:53Speaker 7: Probably we should talk about all the cuss words and
- 6:55Speaker 7: slurs we've stumbled onto and writing our fantasy language.
- 6:59Speaker 3: Well, it's just so fun to figure out what people
- 7:01Speaker 3: call other people when they're angry at that.
- 7:06Speaker 1: It's a fun thing.
- 7:10Speaker 9: When we try to notate that they are sort of
- 7:13Speaker 9: a lesser class.
- 7:14Speaker 6: In the world. We're not.
- 7:16Speaker 5: We're sort of doing an allusion to real life and
- 7:19Speaker 5: not really.
- 7:19Speaker 7: It's always it feels bad to read and it.
- 7:25Speaker 1: Sounds weird tatting out of your mouth, even though we
- 7:29Speaker 1: know it's not real.
- 7:30Speaker 6: We know that's talking mostly about centers, and yet it's
- 7:33Speaker 6: still sounds basis.
- 7:36Speaker 3: Middle Grounder that doesn't sound right.
- 7:37Speaker 1: You know.
- 7:39Speaker 6: How, even in.
- 7:41Speaker 1: Fantasy worlds where anything is possible, we invent discrimination.
- 7:48Speaker 3: It's like it's like a slant rhyme. It's like a
- 7:50Speaker 3: slant rhyme, but it's a slant slur.
- 7:54Speaker 1: Yes, absolutely struck a way.
- 7:57Speaker 6: To sort of weave the star Cross Lovers arc. And
- 7:59Speaker 6: there's no better way to do that than make it
- 8:01Speaker 6: a world where like very well hung horsemen are absolutely
- 8:09Speaker 6: pushed from society their traditions.
- 8:12Speaker 3: And cast system. I always said it, I've always said it.
- 8:18Speaker 1: Oh well, I on that note, I will introduce myself.
- 8:24Speaker 1: My name is Restaurante Excalibur, and I am the author of,
- 8:31Speaker 1: of course, the Nights of the Bare Chested Table. These are,
- 8:39Speaker 1: of course a table full of shirtless nights are all
- 8:45Speaker 1: after the heart of our main girl, Mousie Rebecca.
- 8:51Speaker 6: And and she has brown hair.
- 8:54Speaker 1: From what I read, absolutely what she has own hair chocolate,
- 9:03Speaker 1: dirt and brown as mud or oak or mahogany.
- 9:08Speaker 3: I love how you explain her, all the different words
- 9:11Speaker 3: for brown you come up with.
- 9:13Speaker 1: And I prefer not to describe her face, so that
- 9:16Speaker 1: anyone's face.
- 9:17Speaker 3: May exist upon it could look like anything, or could
- 9:26Speaker 3: be any it's not a visual character.
- 9:30Speaker 1: No, No, she's not for you to see, only for
- 9:33Speaker 1: you to be. And those six nights, oh, they are
- 9:37Speaker 1: ravenous for her.
- 9:38Speaker 3: Can I admit something? When I first saw the title
- 9:41Speaker 3: of your book, I first swore the table was going
- 9:45Speaker 3: to be bare chested, and not the men around it,
- 9:47Speaker 3: because it's you describe it as the knights of the
- 9:50Speaker 3: bare chested table.
- 9:54Speaker 1: Gerbo mean testing turn of grammar. Now, isn't it put
- 10:00Speaker 1: the comma somewhere? And it's a question and whatnot?
- 10:03Speaker 3: Well, because if you look at the knights of the
- 10:05Speaker 3: round table, you're not saying the knights around.
- 10:08Speaker 6: And that, and we don't do that in this genre.
- 10:11Speaker 9: This is a genre that would be remiss to include
- 10:13Speaker 9: any sort of body positivity outside of maybe scales.
- 10:17Speaker 1: Or no, positively are scales here, that's for sure. No,
- 10:30Speaker 1: it's the fair chested table because it was originally translated
- 10:34Speaker 1: from Spanish, where of course you put the adjective before
- 10:39Speaker 1: after the thing in the reverse order that we do it.
- 10:42Speaker 3: And inspired by Spanish, Yes, I.
- 10:45Speaker 1: Am, ever so inspired by Spanish. The country of Spain,
- 10:51Speaker 1: It's many cities and customs, the famous siesta, and that's
- 10:56Speaker 1: why I have a chapter in the middle where you
- 10:58Speaker 1: take a siesta. It is fifteen blank.
- 11:01Speaker 5: Pages for you to take a nap for I loved
- 11:05Speaker 5: you playing with the form like that.
- 11:07Speaker 6: You know, just blank pages. Some some speculated that perhaps
- 11:11Speaker 6: you were unsure what to write. But what I believe
- 11:15Speaker 6: is that you wanted the reader to be along this
- 11:19Speaker 6: journey with you and all of your characters in the
- 11:21Speaker 6: middle of their room.
- 11:22Speaker 1: So glad and now I saw this. I'm so glad
- 11:25Speaker 1: you were able to pick up on this, because yes,
- 11:27Speaker 1: my publisher sent me a few nasty emails saying, okay,
- 11:32Speaker 1: clearly you didn't think of fifteen more pages to do.
- 11:35Speaker 3: With all publishers or pigs.
- 11:38Speaker 7: Yes, I love my publisher.
- 11:41Speaker 10: Pab absolutely asse.
- 11:57Speaker 1: On both your households. Let's keep going about your publishing house,
- 12:04Speaker 1: pop upon your or your Penguin random house.
- 12:08Speaker 7: On the Penguin, the legends himself.
- 12:15Speaker 3: Goodmorrow, it's me Brash, our cars.
- 12:19Speaker 6: Kan.
- 12:26Speaker 11: Bross, Russ Camst awarded and metaled of all of us.
- 12:39Speaker 4: Back in the day when we give medals to books,
- 12:42Speaker 4: I miss it. Now you just get an Oprah's breeding
- 12:47Speaker 4: all the respect.
- 12:49Speaker 7: They are still giving metals to books. You're just not getting.
- 12:54Speaker 3: And and I I did, I do want to say,
- 12:58Speaker 3: don't diminish Oprah's breed book was what is it Oprah's
- 13:04Speaker 3: book Club?
- 13:05Speaker 7: I will say, I don't agree with Oprah's Breeding Club.
- 13:08Speaker 6: And weird.
- 13:10Speaker 3: I think it's weird she started doing that.
- 13:13Speaker 4: The last I got, the last ward I got was
- 13:16Speaker 4: the American Mark book Club, and I went, what the
- 13:19Speaker 4: fuck is this bullshrut?
- 13:21Speaker 3: Anyway?
- 13:22Speaker 5: I right.
- 13:24Speaker 3: Within the world of Ho Ho.
- 13:28Speaker 6: Naturally, naturally what whole.
- 13:33Speaker 3: Whole bags with wings? Yes, trade trade, bark.
- 13:42Speaker 5: Nice creature.
- 13:45Speaker 3: It is a bag described to us.
- 13:52Speaker 1: Describing so wonderfully. And your book, I couldn't possibly do it,
- 13:56Speaker 1: just your.
- 13:57Speaker 12: Imagination such a well developed, a specific type of fantasy character.
- 14:09Speaker 3: What's about the I mean? Reading my box, I got
- 14:13Speaker 3: so many A whole hero hawk bed. Another one comes
- 14:19Speaker 3: in the door, bra Another one comes in the door.
- 14:25Speaker 4: Round big bazook feathers up to the eye can see.
- 14:34Speaker 4: It's a whole bag with wigs.
- 14:37Speaker 3: Round big Bazook's feathers.
- 14:41Speaker 5: The eyes can see.
- 14:44Speaker 3: So the feathers aren't up to the eyes. The fathers
- 14:46Speaker 3: are up to the eyes.
- 14:51Speaker 1: It's a whole bag.
- 14:52Speaker 3: With round big Bazook.
- 14:58Speaker 6: What shall they make.
- 15:06Speaker 1: You're writing for the straight shooter. You don't many people
- 15:10Speaker 1: who read fantasy expect a sort of cowry of language,
- 15:13Speaker 1: just sort of poeticism that transports you to another reality.
- 15:18Speaker 1: And your reality is blunt and and and the edges
- 15:23Speaker 1: are hard, deep.
- 15:27Speaker 6: Deep holes, turgid words. And that's why you're at the
- 15:30Speaker 6: top of.
- 15:30Speaker 3: This genre, because you've done something that none of us
- 15:33Speaker 3: have been able to do. We mostly sell these books
- 15:36Speaker 3: to female audiences. You have captured the men. Honk hawk
- 15:46Speaker 3: famous catch phrase.
- 15:47Speaker 2: Hog kok basically say it's beautiful of just a big
- 15:53Speaker 2: flying feathery Tip's really what the thing is.
- 15:56Speaker 6: Let's be honest with it, asking I was just a
- 16:00Speaker 6: nip flie at either side, and you've.
- 16:04Speaker 3: Really I mean, now I'm curious.
- 16:10Speaker 4: See you, young box will teach me about the teach
- 16:12Speaker 4: me about the new the new stuff, because they want
- 16:14Speaker 4: me to do audio books, because they want truck drivers
- 16:17Speaker 4: to read my books while they're draggling.
- 16:20Speaker 5: And I had to sit down with Larry.
- 16:21Speaker 3: The cable guy. He's doing my book, my whole back.
- 16:30Speaker 5: And he will not be doing the world of.
- 16:35Speaker 3: Reading my work.
- 16:37Speaker 5: And he said, no, I.
- 16:38Speaker 3: Want to listen to it. So amazing.
- 16:42Speaker 1: I can't wait to hear Marry the cable guy read
- 16:45Speaker 1: the whole bag.
- 16:48Speaker 3: I can't wait for his interpretation. And I'm I'm so
- 16:52Speaker 3: nervous to talk to everyone, big friend, big flan, Thank
- 16:55Speaker 3: you it.
- 16:55Speaker 2: My name is Francis Featherstone, and I am I am,
- 16:59Speaker 2: of course the writer of the Quest of the Earth
- 17:02Speaker 2: and Sea Sky, Quest of the Earth and the Sky.
- 17:08Speaker 2: It's it's well, it's the series of books, and it's
- 17:10Speaker 2: a force about of a group of young rogues that
- 17:14Speaker 2: have to travel in this fantasy world. But here's the twist.
- 17:18Speaker 7: In this world.
- 17:19Speaker 3: They walk on the air, and the Earth is the air, So.
- 17:26Speaker 2: Imagine the world is upside yes, they walk, they walk around.
- 17:33Speaker 2: The Earth is like a negative space and the ozone
- 17:36Speaker 2: is the earth, but they're walking through So imagine if
- 17:39Speaker 2: living in Earth, you're walking and you're walking through dirt
- 17:43Speaker 2: in your head, but your feet.
- 17:45Speaker 6: Are on the air and you in your books really
- 17:47Speaker 6: are characterized by how much walking is handling.
- 17:49Speaker 13: Lots of walking, lots of walking. They're going on quests.
- 17:52Speaker 2: They're a bunch of teenagers obviously experiencing love and Earth.
- 17:57Speaker 3: But the Earth is the sky and the sky is
- 18:02Speaker 3: the Earth.
- 18:03Speaker 2: And I'm very excited because we've been working with Catherine Hardwick,
- 18:07Speaker 2: who is adapting the book to a movie, which.
- 18:13Speaker 5: Is so exciting.
- 18:14Speaker 3: I was, I was crying a screenplay. I'm, I'm.
- 18:18Speaker 2: I started writing the screenplay and now I have meaningful consultation.
- 18:31Speaker 1: That's a wonderful title.
- 18:33Speaker 3: That means whatever they do.
- 18:36Speaker 2: I can say if I like it or if I
- 18:39Speaker 2: don't like it, and it's meaningful and they get to
- 18:42Speaker 2: listen to that and then.
- 18:44Speaker 3: Do what they want to.
- 18:46Speaker 5: But it is meaningful.
- 18:48Speaker 14: It's well, they told me they're going to listen. They're
- 18:53Speaker 14: going to listen. So has anyone else's books an adapted?
- 18:57Speaker 14: It's very very interesting for your hand The.
- 19:00Speaker 1: Keys the Castle to sure sure, of course, I met
- 19:05Speaker 1: with the producer of Hallmark, which is not the channel.
- 19:10Speaker 1: It's sort of a series of uh of of of
- 19:14Speaker 1: a fantasy things whatever.
- 19:17Speaker 6: But he said he was on.
- 19:22Speaker 1: He said my work was unadaptable, but it must remain
- 19:25Speaker 1: on the page, and so I shan't be And I
- 19:30Speaker 1: don't know why I started talking.
- 19:32Speaker 4: No, we're talking about adapt Well, why didn't yours be adapted?
- 19:36Speaker 3: Yeah, you have for animation.
- 19:38Speaker 6: What content cannot be made visual? He said?
- 19:42Speaker 1: The six bare chested men are not are not exactly.
- 19:49Speaker 1: The tension is lost when there's six of them and
- 19:52Speaker 1: it sort of just looks like a shirt versus.
- 19:54Speaker 3: What I wanted to say was yours felt the most adapted,
- 19:58Speaker 3: the most imaginative. You get a hated man.
- 20:03Speaker 1: What pervert could imagine? Six bear chested men? You know
- 20:07Speaker 1: it's sick, is it not.
- 20:09Speaker 6: One of my favorite things about your novels are the
- 20:12Speaker 6: creative names that you give your characters. And so these
- 20:14Speaker 6: six men, I'm just they're not coming to mind, the
- 20:17Speaker 6: six names of these.
- 20:18Speaker 1: Men, six men, and I shall rattle them off all
- 20:21Speaker 1: Brady Bunch. Imagine if you will, the Brady Bunch title
- 20:26Speaker 1: good Show in the middle squares situation.
- 20:31Speaker 3: This is exactly how I imagine my characters, the Brady Bunch.
- 20:36Speaker 1: Rebecca in the middle, she's looking up. And then it
- 20:42Speaker 1: is restaurante.
- 20:45Speaker 3: So your name.
- 20:51Speaker 5: First out of the gate character.
- 20:53Speaker 3: You're.
- 20:57Speaker 1: Restaurante Pastoroni the name of the first bear Chester place in.
- 21:05Speaker 3: Spain, fantastic Spain, an old time Italian.
- 21:13Speaker 1: Space, Italian Spanish fusion.
- 21:15Speaker 3: Imagine if the medieval times of the Canterbury Tales was
- 21:19Speaker 3: it Spain Italy borna you knows.
- 21:21Speaker 2: I can imagine what if, what if Barcelona was a
- 21:24Speaker 2: little more Italian?
- 21:26Speaker 3: I love the world Roscoe oil with some.
- 21:32Speaker 6: The second tile.
- 21:33Speaker 1: She looks to the upper right hand owner of the
- 21:36Speaker 1: second bar chested man appears. His name is musical A
- 21:41Speaker 1: la Vodka and he is the one who sings.
- 21:47Speaker 3: I have a very tender spot for musical.
- 21:50Speaker 1: He's one of my favorite, the singing one like a mouse.
- 21:56Speaker 5: He turns to the left.
- 22:00Speaker 3: You're only on the top level, all right, corn, all right,
- 22:09Speaker 3: calm down.
- 22:12Speaker 1: Let's go down to tell you Senora Rissotto, the bad boy.
- 22:20Speaker 15: Transgender yess are sort of a bad boy queer character.
- 22:27Speaker 7: Yes, yes, he's queer because he has a girl's name,
- 22:31Speaker 7: and the girl's name is girl Spanish for girl, and of.
- 22:36Speaker 5: Course we mean queer. Is it the old timey sort
- 22:38Speaker 5: of strange.
- 22:41Speaker 3: Flex nicknacks, Yes.
- 22:43Speaker 6: Queer type.
- 22:46Speaker 1: She looks to the right hand tile.
- 22:49Speaker 3: But what is that?
- 22:50Speaker 1: It is marinera sombrero.
- 22:57Speaker 15: Pretty most defensive of them all, and he thinks he
- 23:04Speaker 15: likes books, moving on quickly to the bottom title bottom
- 23:09Speaker 15: title card.
- 23:09Speaker 1: She's looking around her. There have so many bare chested man,
- 23:16Speaker 1: some arrow and mouse.
- 23:20Speaker 6: Yeah, that took three books to get Jim and she looks.
- 23:23Speaker 1: Down upon air Spana.
- 23:33Speaker 6: Your parents.
- 23:37Speaker 5: Standing around.
- 23:38Speaker 6: Really, Oh my god, it's like this, but this is
- 23:46Speaker 6: this is.
- 23:49Speaker 1: So that's where I was trying to think of when
- 23:51Speaker 1: I wrote that character.
- 23:58Speaker 3: French French dessert, Yes, span Wrath, Spanya.
- 24:04Speaker 1: Taram Sue and he is an old soul is doctor
- 24:13Speaker 1: Italy Spayard, Italy Spaniard. And he is a professor, the
- 24:24Speaker 1: one that she looks to for advice and wisdom. So
- 24:27Speaker 1: shay them all again, I got them, I got I
- 24:32Speaker 1: remember that it would be helpful if I went backwards.
- 24:35Speaker 1: So we had doctor.
- 24:39Speaker 3: You can't even get the first one, just said it.
- 24:46Speaker 1: Doctor Italy Spania. Then we went back upwards to.
- 24:51Speaker 9: The way you snaffed about terms, and the first word
- 24:56Speaker 9: was not.
- 25:00Speaker 1: Then we went back to.
- 25:07Speaker 3: Oh, yes, one, I don't even remember.
- 25:17Speaker 1: Senor. Gosh, well you have to play back the tape,
- 25:20Speaker 1: I guess.
- 25:21Speaker 6: God God, perfect character names. You know, I really resonated with.
- 25:26Speaker 3: Because you are taking the worlds and adapting, almost like
- 25:30Speaker 3: every new book is a new place, and you're always
- 25:34Speaker 3: figuring out how to make a sexy climate.
- 25:38Speaker 6: It's true, which is really difficult because once you've done
- 25:40Speaker 6: all four elements. It's sort of where do you go
- 25:42Speaker 6: from there?
- 25:43Speaker 1: I heard you're going to the periodic table next.
- 25:45Speaker 6: I heard that, yes, and I know the periodic table
- 25:48Speaker 6: very well, and for that reason, I'm glad to be writing.
- 25:51Speaker 3: A book there we're starting.
- 25:53Speaker 6: I'm going to start with helium. I think aware of
- 25:57Speaker 6: the helio really.
- 25:59Speaker 5: Appus your sensibility.
- 26:02Speaker 6: That there's a lot about there's a lot of.
- 26:05Speaker 2: Where the helium actually makes things lower because if you
- 26:11Speaker 2: don't remember, remember.
- 26:14Speaker 3: In is a crowd and the clown is the sky.
- 26:19Speaker 3: So when you feel a balloon, it goes out the interesting.
- 26:29Speaker 6: Of course, I would love your notes. I feel like
- 26:32Speaker 6: it'll make my novels so much more well rounded. Certainly,
- 26:37Speaker 6: you just have.
- 26:37Speaker 3: Such a good way of, you know, writing this romance
- 26:42Speaker 3: capture romance like no one I've ever seen. How we're
- 26:47Speaker 3: gonna fall in love and helium well.
- 26:49Speaker 6: In helium in my world, unfortunately, it sort of follows
- 26:52Speaker 6: the kind of the natural law is more akin to
- 26:55Speaker 6: our world that's in.
- 27:00Speaker 1: You.
- 27:01Speaker 6: Yeah, But the problem is is it's a world where
- 27:04Speaker 6: you only know that you found your true mate when
- 27:07Speaker 6: you both inhale helium and your voices are at the
- 27:10Speaker 6: same tone.
- 27:12Speaker 1: So there's the moment.
- 27:13Speaker 6: It's the moments.
- 27:18Speaker 2: A divergent or baby world. Do we have the same
- 27:22Speaker 2: company because our voices out of the.
- 27:26Speaker 6: Yeah. Yeah, there's an imprinting that happens when one character
- 27:29Speaker 6: is like, and I do sort of in the book
- 27:32Speaker 6: indicate that by writing a very small fox.
- 27:41Speaker 3: You know, when you square something and it has a
- 27:43Speaker 3: tiny tow at the top, that's.
- 27:44Speaker 6: What you're cutting out.
- 27:48Speaker 5: Most of my books notes.
- 27:50Speaker 9: There's about three or four sentences on the page and
- 27:52Speaker 9: a break of footnotes at the bottom, just a paragraph published.
- 27:57Speaker 2: It is always like, oh, if you have to use
- 27:59Speaker 2: the size, you're not being imaginative.
- 28:01Speaker 3: And I say, go suck a butthole.
- 28:16Speaker 5: Sort of barking like a small dog. Yeah, it's.
- 28:23Speaker 6: That's a classic bash art. Yeah, you know in in
- 28:28Speaker 6: my novels, it's really important that sensuality is woven and
- 28:32Speaker 6: brought to such a hind extent but never executed as
- 28:37Speaker 6: soon exactly. My whole novel should sort of get you
- 28:41Speaker 6: to a place where you're red in the face, wet
- 28:44Speaker 6: in the shorts, tighten the ass, slick in the ears,
- 28:48Speaker 6: lug in the hair.
- 28:51Speaker 5: Why did the jest big in the in the hole
- 28:56Speaker 5: in the hole and big in the hole, tall in.
- 29:01Speaker 6: The feelings, and what else. You're right there.
- 29:07Speaker 9: It's just sort of sort of strong in the lip,
- 29:10Speaker 9: loose in the tooth, dry in the tongue, what the hair,
- 29:19Speaker 9: the hair, broad in the shoulders, fining, narrow with the
- 29:23Speaker 9: waist up, fine archers, strong in the stalks.
- 29:35Speaker 6: Week at the t F s A S.
- 29:37Speaker 5: Do you have those in America? At the four to
- 29:39Speaker 5: one case.
- 29:41Speaker 6: I'm a Canadian writer. Of course, comes through, It does
- 29:44Speaker 6: come through.
- 29:45Speaker 2: You know.
- 29:45Speaker 9: I have my characters sort of talking about the sea
- 29:47Speaker 9: and tower and and some of my and in a
- 29:50Speaker 9: fantasy world where there are birds in the sky is
- 29:53Speaker 9: where I.
- 29:53Speaker 5: Started to see in tower, because that's where they all circle.
- 29:59Speaker 6: I would love to read.
- 30:01Speaker 3: This is such a beautiful crescendo of will they won't they?
- 30:04Speaker 3: I'm hot and bothered.
- 30:05Speaker 6: Of course, you know, I did already read from the
- 30:07Speaker 6: air books. I'll read from the Water book, which yes,
- 30:12Speaker 6: I love this and this one was really a hit
- 30:14Speaker 6: among the tween demographic. Sorry, let me just call this.
- 30:21Speaker 6: Penelope ran in brackets, swam to Paul's sides.
- 30:31Speaker 5: He pulled out his marpinis and that's the end of
- 30:35Speaker 5: the book.
- 30:37Speaker 14: At the end of the book.
- 30:39Speaker 5: I said, I say, there's a lot of photos.
- 30:48Speaker 3: It's all my reference.
- 30:49Speaker 4: Yes, I saw you do a reading Barnes and Noble
- 30:52Speaker 4: and you read the end of the book again, and
- 30:54Speaker 4: I what a weird way to sell books.
- 30:56Speaker 6: I want people to know that what they're what they're
- 30:59Speaker 6: reading towards.
- 31:03Speaker 9: My publisher said the book had to be four hundred pages,
- 31:06Speaker 9: and I agreed.
- 31:08Speaker 5: It doesn't mean there has to be writing on every
- 31:10Speaker 5: single leve Yeah, like like a cap.
- 31:19Speaker 3: Well, that's different. We always say all cops are publishers,
- 31:28Speaker 3: publish are bigs.
- 31:32Speaker 9: And really confusing people at the sort of anti cop
- 31:38Speaker 9: rallies signs.
- 31:39Speaker 1: Yes, that was such a lovely passage. Does anyone passage?
- 31:44Speaker 3: I was going to ask, if you.
- 31:48Speaker 6: Asol and you have an unreleased novel, I forget what
- 31:50Speaker 6: it's called. You have an unreleased novel in the sort
- 31:52Speaker 6: of dragon fame world.
- 31:53Speaker 3: It's called Dragon Fairy due.
- 31:57Speaker 6: Straight to the plane, but I hit it.
- 32:00Speaker 3: Yes, Well, as you guys know, I'm sure the audience knows.
- 32:04Speaker 3: The Friedman has kind of found himself betwixt two courts,
- 32:08Speaker 3: the dragon and the Fae, and he's kind of being
- 32:12Speaker 3: a double agent for both and he cannot decide because
- 32:14Speaker 3: he's fallen deeply in love with the Dragon Queen. F
- 32:18Speaker 3: F and the Fay Queen just love the light.
- 32:23Speaker 2: Variation of the favorite things about your books is it's
- 32:27Speaker 2: almost like if the lion the witch in the wardrobe,
- 32:30Speaker 2: but the person who went through the wardrobe is just
- 32:33Speaker 2: the biggest douchebag.
- 32:35Speaker 4: I wouldn't say, here's a he's a flawed guy, yourudge,
- 32:39Speaker 4: your characters.
- 32:42Speaker 3: Kind. I guess in America he would be considered a douchebag.
- 32:46Speaker 3: He just he keeps asking all the witches waits. Oh,
- 32:51Speaker 3: that's what you do in America.
- 32:53Speaker 5: I guess it's a mart Wait you said in America
- 32:57Speaker 5: you would be a douchebag? Where where where is your
- 33:00Speaker 5: world set?
- 33:01Speaker 3: It's it's it's.
- 33:04Speaker 6: Yes, yes.
- 33:06Speaker 3: I'm to read a little passage. The front man waited
- 33:12Speaker 3: in the court. This would be the day he finally
- 33:15Speaker 3: made his choice. The queen arrived, her beautiful scales, towering body,
- 33:22Speaker 3: long long, long neck, ferocious teeth and eyes that screamed
- 33:28Speaker 3: help me.
- 33:30Speaker 6: I love that an woman, Oh, I love that.
- 33:32Speaker 3: Hello, it's good to see you again. Hmmm, Hi Bunny
- 33:39Speaker 3: Bonny his pet name from before, from before you know
- 33:46Speaker 3: I could burn you in two if I wanted to
- 33:50Speaker 3: rip you apart with my big mangled teeth, make you
- 33:53Speaker 3: mince meat in front of the whole court.
- 33:56Speaker 5: Sort of a snuff element here.
- 33:58Speaker 3: I like that. I'd like that very much.
- 34:03Speaker 5: Course, witness watching.
- 34:06Speaker 3: Quick come to my chambers. We need to talk privately, Okay,
- 34:13Speaker 3: I'll go.
- 34:16Speaker 6: Lyrical.
- 34:16Speaker 3: Chapter three, the queen lay on our bed begging for more.
- 34:24Speaker 6: So we skip.
- 34:26Speaker 5: Sort of like a nineteen fifties movie. We see them
- 34:29Speaker 5: kissing the cigarette.
- 34:31Speaker 1: Come back to my chambers, now.
- 34:40Speaker 6: Emotic.
- 34:41Speaker 3: At the end of it, what happens is I go,
- 34:45Speaker 3: you see, this is what happened, and then you get
- 34:48Speaker 3: into the emation. Well, that's my question for you. Do
- 34:53Speaker 3: you make love like your characters?
- 34:55Speaker 6: It's a really great.
- 34:58Speaker 3: What what's what do we pulling from? In real life?
- 35:01Speaker 3: You are always wondering how sick and twisted our bedroom.
- 35:05Speaker 6: Does they are?
- 35:05Speaker 1: To reflect the artists.
- 35:08Speaker 3: I think you can just go down the line.
- 35:11Speaker 9: I would say, for me, the only way that my
- 35:13Speaker 9: books are reflected is I have one hand in a
- 35:15Speaker 9: glass of water, one hand over.
- 35:16Speaker 3: A candle, always connected the elements.
- 35:23Speaker 5: Absolutely, that's me to.
- 35:24Speaker 3: A t.
- 35:26Speaker 1: Spread between the elements.
- 35:34Speaker 5: It was just stramming my clip like a mandolin.
- 35:42Speaker 9: So no, I'm writing my novels while this is happening
- 35:50Speaker 9: through Siri, which is why a lot of my books
- 35:53Speaker 9: have the word okay sort of.
- 35:57Speaker 1: I my I'll answer with kind of. I would say
- 36:01Speaker 1: that I am on six phone lines at the same
- 36:04Speaker 1: time having phone sex with six different men sort of
- 36:08Speaker 1: six way tell orgy.
- 36:15Speaker 2: Wow, six way zoom sex sounds actually awful, you can
- 36:22Speaker 2: merely hear.
- 36:23Speaker 3: Sorry, sorry, do we have to did you bring it?
- 36:28Speaker 1: Did bring a little recording of my last six way
- 36:31Speaker 1: sex party? And I believe let me see, I'll press
- 36:35Speaker 1: play now.
- 36:38Speaker 3: Happy Okay, So I'm sorry, sorry, let me I just
- 36:46Speaker 3: love to say something before is excuse me?
- 36:51Speaker 1: So thank you all for joining me on birthday for
- 36:54Speaker 1: some hold for some sorry.
- 36:59Speaker 16: I.
- 37:01Speaker 3: I'd like to start my frozen for you. Guys. You guys,
- 37:06Speaker 3: wave your dick around, leave your dick around the table.
- 37:12Speaker 1: I placed my breasts on the table.
- 37:14Speaker 3: Why did you put them on a table? Okay, guys, guys, guys, guys, guys, guys,
- 37:20Speaker 3: are we good? So my dick is out?
- 37:23Speaker 5: Okay, Okay, my breast I'm putting in my ass on
- 37:26Speaker 5: the table.
- 37:27Speaker 3: Were we supposed to be at a table. I'm on
- 37:29Speaker 3: my couch.
- 37:32Speaker 1: I said, to bring your table.
- 37:34Speaker 3: How are you putting your tits on the table facing down?
- 37:39Speaker 5: She's turned to the side of their stacks, sort of
- 37:41Speaker 5: like heads in the door frame.
- 37:46Speaker 3: Oh my god, I was on mute the whole time.
- 37:47Speaker 3: I'm wet as a dog. Dad my frozen. I have
- 37:52Speaker 3: to figure out if I'm frozen. Can you screen sharing?
- 38:00Speaker 6: I don't want to see that.
- 38:00Speaker 5: Don't change the Google doc now they have little glasses.
- 38:04Speaker 17: Can you enable recording? I like to record this, I said,
- 38:13Speaker 17: I said no, I said, I don't want this to
- 38:15Speaker 17: be recorded. I don't turn it off.
- 38:20Speaker 5: Oh god, very very erratic.
- 38:24Speaker 3: I'm glad they were recording so we could hear.
- 38:26Speaker 1: I'm so glad they adventure record.
- 38:29Speaker 4: I don't love the I don't make love like the
- 38:32Speaker 4: whole bags with wings because I don't have swords and dilbos.
- 38:36Speaker 1: Shall you please read that scene the first time the
- 38:39Speaker 1: hoe bags make love. It is like nothing I've ever read.
- 38:43Speaker 6: Music to my.
- 38:44Speaker 3: Eyes, fire and horror all over the wall. That's how
- 38:59Speaker 3: you sex seeds. For Basha Khan, it's sex if it's rhyming.
- 39:07Speaker 3: Fire and horrors all over the war Ra goes, the
- 39:13Speaker 3: Man goes the Tin Man. Okay, Gussie John two whole
- 39:22Speaker 3: bags with wings flying. It's like almost Doctor Susie. One
- 39:30Speaker 3: one in search, the other says no, it's shinn.
- 39:36Speaker 4: They dance the farry dams as it snows, dildos and
- 39:39Speaker 4: mock it's time to clean up.
- 39:42Speaker 3: Look at this place. There's common so much suck. I'm
- 39:46Speaker 3: gonna stop that.
- 39:52Speaker 1: And you went to the dildo blizzard is so.
- 39:58Speaker 3: It's the biggest need of the they're trapped into dildos
- 40:01Speaker 3: and no, I don't get any wars.
- 40:04Speaker 2: That one was so special too, because I loved this
- 40:08Speaker 2: was the only thing that shel Silverstein ever illustrated that
- 40:12Speaker 2: he didn't do.
- 40:13Speaker 3: And so these drawings are just so wonderful and they're
- 40:15Speaker 3: very whimsical, and not all the books are they that way.
- 40:19Speaker 3: But what about you doing?
- 40:20Speaker 12: I love?
- 40:21Speaker 3: Can I just say one of the biggest things in
- 40:23Speaker 3: your book is the tin Man sounds different from the
- 40:25Speaker 3: Man's two different beings.
- 40:28Speaker 4: One is from a house of tin and one is
- 40:30Speaker 4: from a house of comms.
- 40:38Speaker 3: Wow, this episode is really funny so far, wouldn't you.
- 40:41Speaker 7: Say, Kylie?
- 40:41Speaker 1: I think I'd say so Jeremy and you know, I'd
- 40:44Speaker 1: say that there's a lot of stuff coming down the
- 40:46Speaker 1: pike that is not necessarily only on this episode.
- 40:50Speaker 3: Yes, we're talking about our Patreon. You guys can check

- 41:17Speaker 1: of that on the Patreon.

- 41:47Speaker 9: Binary These home bags do fall into a gen into
- 41:56Speaker 9: a gender binary every time beautiful.
- 41:59Speaker 3: Every time I hear this, I go oh man wrote this.
- 42:02Speaker 3: Every time I'm like, this is what a man wrote.
- 42:04Speaker 6: What do you mean?
- 42:05Speaker 3: Okay, well, I want to know. Do you have sex
- 42:07Speaker 3: the way your characters? I actually don't. I am celibates
- 42:12Speaker 3: when i'm writing.
- 42:13Speaker 2: So so my husband understands that I don't they love
- 42:17Speaker 2: while I'm writing, because I need those urges, those very strong.
- 42:22Speaker 3: Urges, straight into the book. This time I'm playing with.
- 42:26Speaker 3: You know, in this world, they're they're they're coming of age.
- 42:29Speaker 2: My characters are going on a question and they're they're
- 42:32Speaker 2: the youngest of their family, but they're officially men and
- 42:35Speaker 2: women or in my world we call them ving and
- 42:38Speaker 2: volgaing and and I.
- 42:40Speaker 3: Do love that exactly. I don't. Can you read it?
- 42:44Speaker 3: Can you read one of your excerpts. I just love
- 42:46Speaker 3: your rank, the way that you use metaphor simile and adjectives.
- 42:50Speaker 6: Totally scripts, yeah, metaphor simil. I love the way you
- 42:54Speaker 6: sort of weave the vings and thongs of it all.
- 42:56Speaker 3: Yes, yes, yes.
- 43:00Speaker 13: Bagor was scared as a baby puppy, and as he
- 43:05Speaker 13: walked through the thick storm that was dirt with his
- 43:10Speaker 13: feet firmly grasping the air, scared to fall into the center,
- 43:16Speaker 13: away from the air like a little apple from a tree,
- 43:20Speaker 13: but upside down. He looked across the room and saw
- 43:26Speaker 13: a ving that caught his eye. The thing's name was
- 43:31Speaker 13: Abergam Scunter want.
- 43:35Speaker 2: Abergam's breasts floated upwards into the earth.
- 43:46Speaker 3: Your book is less about romance and more about how
- 43:48Speaker 3: amazing it would be to such. Every other sentence is
- 43:53Speaker 3: about how people are walking on as not.
- 43:57Speaker 1: The sex that excites you. That these urges are tied
- 44:00Speaker 1: to the urges are tied to the logic of what
- 44:03Speaker 1: happens when you're in different layers of the act.
- 44:06Speaker 3: It doesn't really like your horny No, well, you'll get
- 44:08Speaker 3: to the part where they lay down? Should I say
- 44:11Speaker 3: lay up? I think we're gonna get it?
- 44:16Speaker 6: Wait, and I do you know, it's interesting to me
- 44:18Speaker 6: that you don't have sex while you write. And it
- 44:21Speaker 6: seems that you've been sort of constantly writing for the
- 44:23Speaker 6: past twenty years.
- 44:24Speaker 13: There's always another book.
- 44:26Speaker 6: So how does your husband feel about that?
- 44:29Speaker 3: My husband understands now there stands I think. So he's
- 44:32Speaker 3: a grumpy guy that you it's grumpy when I met him.
- 44:35Speaker 3: He seems to be withering away.
- 44:37Speaker 4: If he was grumbling before you, Madam of the transit
- 44:40Speaker 4: of property, he's grumpy, exactly exactly.
- 44:43Speaker 3: He loves safaris, my husband, he loves he loves going
- 44:49Speaker 3: the Safaris.
- 44:49Speaker 7: He's part of a local mushroom club for him. He's

- 45:15Speaker 3: I was recently divorced.
- 45:17Speaker 1: I'm so sorry to here of your divorced divorce.
- 45:22Speaker 9: And would you say that that inspired your most recent book,
- 45:25Speaker 9: Fuck you fairies, I fucking hate you.
- 45:28Speaker 3: I don't know if it played into it at all.
- 45:30Speaker 2: What I loved, and I was following this very closely,
- 45:35Speaker 2: is you represented yourself in divorce court and it was
- 45:39Speaker 2: the most fanciful.
- 45:44Speaker 3: I wanted to win. I saw I don't trust the lawyer.
- 45:48Speaker 3: I wanted to win, so of course I would represent myself.
- 45:53Speaker 3: I walked in with my suit of armor, threw down
- 45:57Speaker 3: a gloves slap of the judge. I believe we have
- 46:01Speaker 3: the opening, we have the foot open all rise, h
- 46:06Speaker 3: your honor, hold on my skin.
- 46:13Speaker 6: I pitched my skin.
- 46:14Speaker 3: I pitched my skin, Council, I can't work like this.
- 46:18Speaker 3: He he has a blade.
- 46:23Speaker 4: All I want is custody of the kids, your honor,
- 46:25Speaker 4: and that's that's all I objection.
- 46:28Speaker 3: This is.
- 46:29Speaker 1: I mean, we can't be having you.
- 46:30Speaker 5: As a bailiff.
- 46:31Speaker 3: You wan to take this guy out of the shouldn't
- 46:33Speaker 3: be talking. I'm sorry, I'm sorry.
- 46:38Speaker 5: What did you say?
- 46:40Speaker 3: Zip, sir? We need you here, bailff.
- 46:43Speaker 6: We need we need you tuesday.
- 46:46Speaker 3: Order order order, order, order, order, go ahead, you guys.
- 46:54Speaker 3: Com Okay, God, what happens when things fall apart, when
- 47:03Speaker 3: a marriage wants filled with love ends your honor?
- 47:07Speaker 5: His dick is out.
- 47:08Speaker 3: I can't do this. Let me finish, Let me finish,
- 47:11Speaker 3: Let me finish here now, okay, I'm back.
- 47:15Speaker 5: He's jacking out.
- 47:16Speaker 3: You don't want me to think about it. I'm not
- 47:19Speaker 3: jacking off.
- 47:20Speaker 5: He said, let me finish, and he reached down and.
- 47:24Speaker 16: I touched my The skin is pinching right near my penis.
- 47:28Speaker 16: I'm trying to fix it. I love that clip off one.
- 47:38Speaker 1: Yeah, they turned it around.
- 47:44Speaker 5: It's sort of a my cousin situation.
- 47:47Speaker 2: Yeah, double sided, high in the divorce court, always siding
- 47:52Speaker 2: with the father.
- 47:53Speaker 1: Always.
- 47:56Speaker 3: You guys, have a part of your book that you're
- 48:01Speaker 3: most proud of. Maybe you get most emotional when you
- 48:04Speaker 3: read it. You regurgitates, reminds you of something, or captures
- 48:09Speaker 3: a feeling that you've been trying to convey for years
- 48:11Speaker 3: and years and years. I and you can say no.
- 48:17Speaker 1: In my box, I have something that I well, I
- 48:21Speaker 1: can just read this passage because it always brings me
- 48:23Speaker 1: to tears. It's something that I've I've wanted to express
- 48:26Speaker 1: as an artist, but it's about sharing and the importance
- 48:30Speaker 1: of sharing that I've never figured out how to articulate.
- 48:34Speaker 1: So I'll just read from This is the Middle, Great,
- 48:41Speaker 1: good place.
- 48:42Speaker 6: Great play, Sister Mousey.
- 48:44Speaker 1: Rebecca sits in the corner of the room, so small
- 48:51Speaker 1: you'd barely notice her. Pass her by, shuffle past her.
- 48:55Speaker 1: Nobody notices her. They keep hitting her. She keeps saying,
- 48:58Speaker 1: oh sorry, sorry, all right. Then the door bell rings,
- 49:13Speaker 1: I'm awake. The six knights of the bare Chested Table
- 49:20Speaker 1: all filin. They had just ordered a pizza. They obtained
- 49:27Speaker 1: the pizza and the and they place it upon the table,
- 49:32Speaker 1: not noticing Rebecca in the corner, they see six slices
- 49:38Speaker 1: for six men, a perfect order. They exclaim, good wealth,
- 49:42Speaker 1: wine slice each, good job, good job doctor, Well, thank
- 49:49Speaker 1: you marinera. They congratulate each other, and then they hear
- 49:56Speaker 1: from the corner of the room.
- 49:59Speaker 5: It's mouse.
- 50:00Speaker 1: Rebecca and her glasses fall off, her cardigan falls off, her.
- 50:03Speaker 3: Shirt falls off. Did everything accidentally fall off?
- 50:14Speaker 1: In retrospect, it was a big burst of wind that
- 50:16Speaker 1: hit her in respects and she says so sorry, sorry, sorry.
- 50:21Speaker 1: She tries to shy away like a little mouse, hiding,
- 50:24Speaker 1: always hiding, always trying to be smaller. The men all
- 50:27Speaker 1: look at each other, drooling with with hornyness, and they
- 50:32Speaker 1: are so wrapped by her they let their tongues hang
- 50:37Speaker 1: out of their mouth like dogs, and then they stop
- 50:40Speaker 1: each other. Six slices not for six men, but for
- 50:45Speaker 1: one woman.
- 50:52Speaker 3: She's going to eat that whole pizza.
- 50:55Speaker 1: Talk about.
- 51:03Speaker 3: Turning it on its head in a feminist wing.
- 51:06Speaker 2: These men show up ready to eat a perfect order
- 51:09Speaker 2: of Pizzas turns out, now see the Rebecca glassy shirtless
- 51:15Speaker 2: off pitts.
- 51:17Speaker 14: These better test, these better tested men.
- 51:26Speaker 3: I'm going to one eat pizza, girlfriend, and theres are
- 51:31Speaker 3: gonna be out like dogs pizza.
- 51:35Speaker 1: And it always gives me because.
- 51:37Speaker 3: It's so important, so beautiful.
- 51:41Speaker 6: Really is so beautiful.
- 51:42Speaker 1: You know.
- 51:43Speaker 6: I have similar themes in my book because it is
- 51:45Speaker 6: about making sure that you're sharing between you know, the
- 51:48Speaker 6: different as you were talking about before, the different levels
- 51:51Speaker 6: of the cast system and the heart of what the
- 51:54Speaker 6: romance is all about.
- 51:56Speaker 3: Yes, would you like me to read a passage?
- 51:58Speaker 6: He used to. Of course, I'll be sure to read
- 52:01Speaker 6: sort of from the middle, by by which I mean
- 52:03Speaker 6: the end.
- 52:07Speaker 3: Which book is this from?
- 52:08Speaker 6: This is from the this is from the volcano. This
- 52:11Speaker 6: is the second book in my series, the Fiery Fae.
- 52:16Speaker 6: While we're talking about sort of the fairies that live
- 52:18Speaker 6: in and around the volcano, and of course, as we
- 52:21Speaker 6: all know, because we've all read this book, that the
- 52:24Speaker 6: fay who live at the bottom of the volcano are
- 52:26Speaker 6: sort of a lower class and the fay who live
- 52:29Speaker 6: in the magmare sort of the higher.
- 52:30Speaker 3: Yes, the district one through twelve right to a situation
- 52:34Speaker 3: where the volcano goes off and the rich people learn
- 52:36Speaker 3: a lesson.
- 52:37Speaker 9: And the rich people learned to ship well, absolutelyfication. What wow, Yes,
- 52:43Speaker 9: the magma flowing down the volcano is absolutely and you're
- 52:46Speaker 9: very good with metaphor similes.
- 52:48Speaker 5: And what was the other objects which naturally are all
- 52:51Speaker 5: groups together always.
- 52:56Speaker 3: And odjectives are mine.
- 52:58Speaker 5: That's very good.
- 53:03Speaker 3: That's my favorite quote from a popular movie.
- 53:10Speaker 6: Flame Fay jumped to her feet. Here comes the magma,
- 53:14Speaker 6: she said, Here comes the thing we've all been waiting for,
- 53:18Speaker 6: for the rich, the magma. Fay at the top of
- 53:20Speaker 6: the volcano, to understand how we're living. She bit her
- 53:24Speaker 6: flaming fingernails with glee. But there are some who are
- 53:28Speaker 6: anxious of this, said ancient mother Magma, who of course
- 53:34Speaker 6: had moved down the mountain, had moved down the volcano
- 53:37Speaker 6: earlier that year, sort of on a peace mission, sort
- 53:40Speaker 6: of of flame Fay looked over at the one that
- 53:53Speaker 6: I just mentioned and held her face in her hands.
- 53:58Speaker 6: There is no place for the magma people here, there
- 54:02Speaker 6: is only you. But she could not accept this, and
- 54:06Speaker 6: she flew up towards the top of the volcano. As
- 54:08Speaker 6: it was bursting, she leapt into the magma, which as
- 54:12Speaker 6: she did, she realized there was nothing to be afraid of,
- 54:17Speaker 6: for the magma was not going to hurt them. They
- 54:19Speaker 6: were made of flames, and instead it could be used
- 54:22Speaker 6: as lubricant. She pulled down her face skirt, revealing her
- 54:27Speaker 6: face lips, click, volva, vagina, cervix.
- 54:34Speaker 3: Woa, whoa, whoa, Oh.
- 54:42Speaker 1: I love how plainly you describe anatomy and no floweriness, no, no,
- 54:49Speaker 1: no casing it in these metaphors.
- 54:51Speaker 16: It is.
- 54:52Speaker 1: This is scientifically when.
- 54:59Speaker 3: Horn those over.
- 55:02Speaker 5: And because everyone.
- 55:05Speaker 6: Listen, this genre is very full. There's many people writing novels,
- 55:10Speaker 6: there's many people writing sexual scenes between fantasy characters. I
- 55:14Speaker 6: have to find a way to differentiate myself exactly, and
- 55:19Speaker 6: to do that that means having an anatomically correct sort
- 55:23Speaker 6: of science lesson in the middle of the humans, just
- 55:26Speaker 6: to humans.
- 55:27Speaker 1: It's so interesting what you're doing, because I would say
- 55:29Speaker 1: that that as romanticy writers, we have to come up
- 55:32Speaker 1: with maybe a thousand different words for for for dick.
- 55:36Speaker 3: And absolutely our favorites.
- 55:39Speaker 6: Absolutely yes, I mean I prefer crust.
- 55:42Speaker 3: And hoole, crestin hole, crust and hole.
- 55:46Speaker 5: Like to the romantic author Kristen.
- 55:53Speaker 8: You get coffee every single and don't talk about there's
- 56:00Speaker 8: a request.
- 56:04Speaker 5: Crest and hall are my face, so that's.
- 56:06Speaker 3: Right, throbbing dagger, yes, and a pocket watch of course.
- 56:15Speaker 1: Angry serpent and bountiful canoe.
- 56:21Speaker 3: Oh I love a canoe. What about what about.
- 56:25Speaker 4: Big big, big candlestick falling off the tip of a ship.
- 56:32Speaker 3: Into a into a big big bowl of teeth. The
- 56:47Speaker 3: ball of teeth is the click grow up?
- 56:49Speaker 6: Okay, you know.
- 56:51Speaker 5: Most men can't find the bull of teeth.
- 56:55Speaker 3: Absolutely to my husband, he can find in the woods,
- 57:04Speaker 3: but he can't find the teeth.
- 57:06Speaker 14: A mouth, sweethearts, I'm going to say, I like to
- 57:11Speaker 14: use on am on a pier, so I like suned
- 57:14Speaker 14: and then.
- 57:16Speaker 3: Oh that's good because it's sucking in.
- 57:22Speaker 6: On scre.
- 57:25Speaker 7: My scwamp.
- 57:26Speaker 3: Good.
- 57:28Speaker 1: What about?
- 57:28Speaker 3: What about?
- 57:29Speaker 6: What about?
- 57:30Speaker 3: Are you just doing it off your dome.
- 57:33Speaker 6: Diferent?
- 57:34Speaker 1: Okay, can read somebody you know this might help and
- 57:39Speaker 1: romantic author out there.
- 57:40Speaker 3: Who's yes, yes, absolutely yes.
- 57:43Speaker 4: What about a tasty blue not off top of a
- 57:47Speaker 4: lesbian tooth, fairy.
- 57:50Speaker 1: Cucumber and a bowl of yellow Now I'm stuck on bowl,
- 57:58Speaker 1: a rip and a.
- 57:59Speaker 3: Tip, a dragon's sword and a phase secret.
- 58:05Speaker 6: Sword and very nice, very nice began.
- 58:09Speaker 18: El and investibule, a big big igloo and a micro penis,
- 58:22Speaker 18: a night.

- 58:29Speaker 3: You lost the ball good forget the.
- 58:32Speaker 6: Bow, A cursed prophecy and enlightened.
- 58:38Speaker 3: Spirit, a classic one here, a scimitar and a sheath.

- 58:55Speaker 3: And the vagina. Two wet tunnels rub against trouber.
- 59:04Speaker 5: Entering this sort of queer.
- 59:09Speaker 4: Many the whole bags are queer, Some whole bags with
- 59:13Speaker 4: wings are gay, and some whole bags with wings are straight.
- 59:17Speaker 3: Depends on the book. Okay, some of them, some of
- 59:24Speaker 3: them are straight.
- 59:26Speaker 1: Whole bags beating the queer baiting allegations.
- 59:30Speaker 3: I should look back. Do you just say, ver are
- 59:33Speaker 3: gay this time? And there straight this time?
- 59:36Speaker 4: Right above the page number, you'll see get straight page number.
- 59:41Speaker 6: So changes depending on the page.
- 59:43Speaker 3: Well, can we talk about some of all of our
- 59:46Speaker 3: fantastical characters we have all of our books special some
- 59:50Speaker 3: of these characters that you're developing, these ideas of what
- 59:54Speaker 3: a character can be in these people, these these creatures
- 59:58Speaker 3: I would say you're the king of in a way
- 1:00:01Speaker 3: that's sweet. Can you just list off some of the
- 1:00:03Speaker 3: other characters you have in your very sweet Yes, I

- 1:00:29Speaker 3: Okay, what else do I out here?
- 1:00:32Speaker 7: You gotta turn to the page.

- 1:00:36Speaker 3: There it is. Oh ah, the slot hairy rat.
- 1:00:42Speaker 6: I love the slut hairy rat.
- 1:00:44Speaker 3: I really what a sense of humans? Hey come back?
- 1:00:49Speaker 9: Yeah, great conector to the rump stilled skin of the
- 1:00:51Speaker 9: whole world, harry rat.
- 1:00:53Speaker 3: Oh the gnome with drugs falling down a hole. I
- 1:00:59Speaker 3: love that creature because you can only ever run into
- 1:01:01Speaker 3: the nome with jokes. It's falling down a hole. I
- 1:01:04Speaker 3: love it, and it goes so fast because they're.
- 1:01:08Speaker 6: Fine. You can down that.
- 1:01:09Speaker 3: That's junk you can sell.
- 1:01:11Speaker 1: The center of gravity of the nome is all off
- 1:01:14Speaker 1: because he's just alley drunk first down forever.
- 1:01:20Speaker 5: He's absolutely fully.
- 1:01:25Speaker 12: All right.
- 1:01:26Speaker 3: A carrot man with no balls. Carrot man with no balls.
- 1:01:35Speaker 3: They can have lots of those in mind. The banker
- 1:01:38Speaker 3: shepherd with a poop.
- 1:01:40Speaker 5: Yeah, poop is sexual.
- 1:01:41Speaker 12: To some from the banker shepherd. Let's not fly by
- 1:01:47Speaker 12: baker shepherd. He's in charge of the sheep. He tells

- 1:02:02Speaker 3: That's it.
- 1:02:03Speaker 6: Yeah, and that is very And I remember the end chapter,
- 1:02:07Speaker 6: the last chapter of your book where you introduced the
- 1:02:10Speaker 6: cum icicle, which was very harrowing because the character who
- 1:02:13Speaker 6: was producing the cub icle's new if he had sex,
- 1:02:16Speaker 6: he would kill whoever he was having sex with because
- 1:02:20Speaker 6: his cum would come out of icicles and sort of
- 1:02:21Speaker 6: pierce the insides, which really created steaks in the.
- 1:02:25Speaker 4: Thank you And I'll tell you this, I saw that
- 1:02:27Speaker 4: Frozen movie and all off looks.
- 1:02:29Speaker 3: A little bit like my cum icycle.

- 1:02:34Speaker 5: Well, I mean yeah, you have a whole chapter called
- 1:02:37Speaker 5: let it ho. I mean only makes sense.
- 1:02:39Speaker 3: I will say, is just a general snowman, So you
- 1:02:44Speaker 3: might be confused. You might be inspired by a snowman.
- 1:02:47Speaker 3: What do you guys think of your fan basis? By
- 1:02:49Speaker 3: the way, do you have great fans? So they're very nice?
- 1:02:52Speaker 3: Who are the kye stuff to people? You know, you
- 1:02:54Speaker 3: write something you don't know who's going to read it.
- 1:02:56Speaker 3: Of a sudden you find out who's reading, and it
- 1:02:58Speaker 3: might be a bit of a surprise.
- 1:03:00Speaker 6: Have nicknames friends?
- 1:03:02Speaker 3: Oh yeah, they're called the Friends.
- 1:03:04Speaker 1: The Francis Fences, bare backs, and they are a bunch
- 1:03:10Speaker 1: of women who look exactly like.
- 1:03:11Speaker 6: Me, mineor the kisses. And usually they're women who are
- 1:03:17Speaker 6: on their second or third husband who do not want custody.
- 1:03:21Speaker 3: Mine are the dragon queens or the fairy queens. They
- 1:03:24Speaker 3: really divide themselves into the two sides of my book,
- 1:03:27Speaker 3: which and they're really rooting for who's going to win
- 1:03:31Speaker 3: out in the end of this tumultuous love story.
- 1:03:33Speaker 6: Edward Jacobs situation.
- 1:03:35Speaker 1: No, no, no, oh, yes, kind of like that movie Twilight.

- 1:03:47Speaker 3: version of that.
- 1:03:48Speaker 6: That's sort of a sort of a fairy dragon.
- 1:03:54Speaker 7: Right now.
- 1:03:55Speaker 3: And she said, it's so nice to see someone continues,
- 1:03:57Speaker 3: that's of Twilight. No, it's it's different. Two people can

- 1:04:28Speaker 5: You're gonna take this guy out of here.
- 1:04:29Speaker 3: Why did you look at my junker and say out
- 1:04:32Speaker 3: of you because he touched it on it? I'm not
- 1:04:34Speaker 3: touching on it. I'm pinched again. My skin is pinched.

- 1:05:19Speaker 3: Are we gonna watch you eat a pizza again?
- 1:05:25Speaker 5: You believe you believe she made us favor it again?
