- 0:07[SPEAKER_01]: Welcome to the Dog's Podcast with your hosts, Lake Renaker, Justin Charles, and Josh All.
- 0:18[SPEAKER_02]: Hey, what's up, Browns fans?
- 0:19[SPEAKER_02]: Welcome back to another episode of Dogs Podcast.
- 0:22[SPEAKER_02]: Josh, all coming to you on a Friday.
- 0:24[SPEAKER_02]: Happy end of the week to everybody out there.
- 0:26[SPEAKER_02]: Hope everybody had a great week.
- 0:28[SPEAKER_02]: I hope the weekend is looking good for you.
- 0:31[SPEAKER_02]: And you're amped up for some wild card weekend football here in the NFL.
- 0:36[SPEAKER_02]: Of course, the Cleveland Browns not a part of that.
- 0:38[SPEAKER_02]: Haven't been for a couple years now, but we do have some good matchups coming this weekend.
- 0:43[SPEAKER_02]: Saturday, Sunday and Monday.
- 0:45[SPEAKER_02]: Don't forget about the Monday game.
- 0:47[SPEAKER_02]: We've got head coaching stuff going on.
- 0:49[SPEAKER_02]: I did a couple of episodes this week already talking about Kevin Safansky getting fired and some of the other coaches that are on the radar for the Cleveland Browns, the biggest news coming yesterday was Mike McDaniel, the head coach for the Miami Dolphins.
- 1:04[SPEAKER_02]: Now, well, he's been fired.
- 1:06[SPEAKER_02]: I guess before I cut off my, my news blurb there, he was a name that was reported.
- 1:12[SPEAKER_02]: I want to say a couple of weeks ago that I know the season hadn't ended yet.
- 1:18[SPEAKER_02]: And might have been Mary Kay at Cleveland.com was reporting that if Mike McDaniel were to be let go, the Cleveland Browns would be interested in
- 1:28[SPEAKER_02]: in looking at him for their head coaching position and now of course that he's been fired.
- 1:33[SPEAKER_02]: We've gotten those reports.
- 1:34[SPEAKER_02]: The Browns are interested.
- 1:36[SPEAKER_02]: Again, according to Mary K, a Mike McDaniel, if you do not remember or know this, which again, this is 10 years ago.
- 1:44[SPEAKER_02]: 12 years ago.
- 1:45[SPEAKER_02]: So if you're a newer Browns fan or you know, you weren't paying attention that closely years and years ago to all the coaching positions on the team, well, then you might not know this and that's totally fine.
- 1:55[SPEAKER_02]: Mike McDaniel was the wide receiver coach for the Cleveland Browns in 2014 underhead coach Mike Patton and offensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan.
- 2:05[SPEAKER_02]: That's right.
- 2:06[SPEAKER_02]: We had Kyle Shanahan and Mike McDaniel.
- 2:09[SPEAKER_02]: on the offensive staff for the Browns.
- 2:12[SPEAKER_02]: And that year did not go well because that was the Brian Hoyer Johnny Men's Elder Bockel.
- 2:17[SPEAKER_02]: Kyle Shanahan with his powerpoint got the hell out of here.
- 2:21[SPEAKER_02]: Went to Atlanta, Mike McDaniel, followed him, went along and then of course the two ended up I believe in San Francisco together.
- 2:28[SPEAKER_02]: But now,
- 2:29[SPEAKER_02]: Mike McDaniel on the open market for head coaching.
- 2:33[SPEAKER_02]: So let me know in the comments if you guys think the Brown should be interested in Mike McDaniel.
- 2:37[SPEAKER_02]: Now, that would make the what is that eight teams that need head coaches that is 25% one quarter of the NFL right now is looking for a head coach.
- 2:48[SPEAKER_02]: I saw this report on Twitter earlier and that's interesting because
- 2:52[SPEAKER_02]: they're saying kind of a difficult year to be looking for a head coach because they're so much demand this year.
- 2:59[SPEAKER_02]: Sometimes we get four new have five new head coaching openings.
- 3:03[SPEAKER_02]: We have eight right now and there still could be more.
- 3:06[SPEAKER_02]: There still could be more.
- 3:07[SPEAKER_02]: We're getting some smoke that if the packers crap the bed here and wildcard weekend that
- 3:14[SPEAKER_02]: Matt LaFlor could potentially be out as the head coaching green bay.
- 3:19[SPEAKER_02]: They could be looking at somebody like a John Harbour who knows.
- 3:23[SPEAKER_02]: But either way, no matter what ends up happening this week, you know, the Tampa Bay buck and years were another team.
- 3:28[SPEAKER_02]: That was rumored to be exploring a head coaching change with Todd Bowles, and up keeping him and firing and just wiping out the rest.
- 3:37[SPEAKER_02]: of the coaching staff completely.
- 3:40[SPEAKER_02]: They're all going, but Todd Bulls remains.
- 3:43[SPEAKER_02]: So it's an interesting time in the NFL for sure.
- 3:46[SPEAKER_02]: So let me, I got, I got a voice mail I want to play today.
- 3:49[SPEAKER_02]: Just wanted to touch on some of that coaching news, but the big thing for today, and I should have said this at the top of the show, I am going to do my first mock draft for you guys of the season.
- 3:59[SPEAKER_02]: Let's call this a rough mock.
- 4:01[SPEAKER_02]: This isn't like the final draft.
- 4:02[SPEAKER_02]: This is a rough draft mock because again,
- 4:05[SPEAKER_02]: the NFL season for the Browns just ended on Sunday hasn't even been a week at I have not done any film study prospect breakdown stuff whatsoever beyond what I prepared for today.
- 4:16[SPEAKER_02]: So my first mock draft here because I've gotten so many requests from you guys and I appreciate it.
- 4:21[SPEAKER_02]: It makes me feel good that you guys want to hear my take on the prospects and the mock draft and everything for the Browns heading into the season or off season.
- 4:29[SPEAKER_02]: So thank you for that.
- 4:34[SPEAKER_02]: I feel obligated to do it, so I'm doing it.
- 4:36[SPEAKER_02]: Moctref 1.0, loosely, like I said, rough draft, mock 0.0, 1.0, but I'll dive into that.
- 4:42[SPEAKER_02]: Here in a second, after I play the Voice Mill first, head to join thedogs.com if you want to be part of the dog pack, community, get over there, sync up with the private discord, hang out with all the diehard Browns fans 24, 7 conversations going on in there.

- 5:09[SPEAKER_02]: like dedicated Browns fans and their perspective on what's going on in the new cycle.
- 5:15[SPEAKER_02]: This community is the place to be.
- 5:17[SPEAKER_02]: So that's join the dogs.com.
- 5:18[SPEAKER_02]: We got the dogpack discord live episode.
- 5:20[SPEAKER_02]: This week will be on Sunday.
- 5:22[SPEAKER_02]: We're going to try a weekend.
- 5:24[SPEAKER_02]: Now that we're not doing preview shows.
- 5:25[SPEAKER_02]: So we're going to do it.
- 5:25[SPEAKER_02]: Sunday at 1 o'clock PM Eastern.
- 5:28[SPEAKER_02]: That's when that episode will take place.
- 5:30[SPEAKER_02]: So if you want to be on that show, you want to have an opportunity come up and talk to us.
- 5:33[SPEAKER_02]: Ask questions join the dogs.com is where you get access to that as well.
- 5:38[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, so like I said before I get into the mock draft, I want to hit this voicemail real quick.
- 5:43[SPEAKER_02]: This one is from Andrew.
- 5:44[SPEAKER_00]: What's up guys, Andrew here from Newcastle, hope you're all good.
- 5:47[SPEAKER_00]: I just want to talk about the Brown's plans for the two first round draft picks.
- 5:52[SPEAKER_00]: I know a lot of people are wanting us to take two wide receivers for far draft picks.
- 5:57[SPEAKER_00]: However, I, I'm with the mind that we'd be better off taking an offensive
- 6:05[SPEAKER_00]: I have a suspicion that the Giants are going to be selected in Carnell Tate, which then would leave us with the second best receiver in the draft.
- 6:13[SPEAKER_00]: I think we'd be better off taking either the guy from Miami or Farno from Utah.
- 6:19[SPEAKER_00]: I think history show and that it's a lot hard at a find elite tackles than elite wide receivers, particularly once you get out of the first round.
- 6:30[SPEAKER_00]: I think that the best approach would be take a tackle with the first pick.
- 6:34[SPEAKER_00]: I receive if the second pick and then I receive or in the second round as well, that'll be my ideal approach.
- 6:40[SPEAKER_00]: Go Browns.
- 6:41[SPEAKER_02]: Well, thank you Andrew for the voice mail.
- 6:43[SPEAKER_02]: That will lead us into the first mock draft here of the off season 2026.
- 6:50[SPEAKER_02]: So before I get into my picks and just so you guys know, I am not doing an entire mock draft.
- 6:58[SPEAKER_02]: I think the Browns have 10 or 11 picks in this draft.
- 7:01[SPEAKER_02]: That's like it's crazy.
- 7:03[SPEAKER_02]: And of course, like I said, I have not done on my prospect research or anything like that.
- 7:07[SPEAKER_02]: So what I'm gonna do here today is I'm gonna go through the first five picks at the Browns App.
- 7:12[SPEAKER_02]: So that'll be through three rounds, there's three rounds,
- 7:17[SPEAKER_02]: Round one, two, and three, so we've got tick six.
- 7:19[SPEAKER_02]: We've got estimated I'm going to go with pick 28 right now that's what I'm seeing on most of the websites.
- 7:25[SPEAKER_02]: That's kind of what they're projecting for the J. Guires pickin' the first round.
- 7:28[SPEAKER_02]: So toward the end of that first round, and then we've got pick 39 in the second round, pick 70, and then pick 107.
- 7:35[SPEAKER_02]: So those will be the five picks that I'm going to mock here today.
- 7:39[SPEAKER_02]: So to real quick touch on what Andrew was saying because you guys will see what I ended up doing here in this first mock.
- 7:46[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know if there's an elite tackle in this draft as far as like a left tackle.
- 7:54[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know yet.
- 7:56[SPEAKER_02]: There's so many people out there that have done more prospect analysis and breakdowns already than I have.
- 8:03[SPEAKER_02]: And I just know that to find an elite level, alpha-wide receiver outside of the first round of the draft is very difficult.
- 8:14[SPEAKER_02]: I don't trust Andrew Barry to do it or to be able to do it.
- 8:19[SPEAKER_02]: The only other way outside of using a first round pick on a receiver to get that type of player is to go trade for one and I don't see the browns doing that either.
- 8:28[SPEAKER_02]: So if the Giants, which I have seen this in a lot of spots, I have seen them taking Carnell Tate right before us at Pick 5.
- 8:36[SPEAKER_02]: If that were to happen, I'm okay taking Jordan Tyson.
- 8:40[SPEAKER_02]: The Y-R-Caver out of Arizona State.
- 8:42[SPEAKER_02]: I'm okay with that.
- 8:43[SPEAKER_02]: Again, without having gone through, I really want to dive into his injury history, because I know that's a big detractor for a lot of people, but I know he's a hell of a player.
- 8:52[SPEAKER_02]: He's a very good Y-R-Caver, and if you remember,
- 8:55[SPEAKER_02]: going back just a couple years like just because we get the second wide receiver and the draft doesn't mean we're getting the second best wide receiver and the draft Marvin Harrison Jr. went really early to the cardinals a couple years ago and then a few picks later the giants took Malik neighbors.
- 9:09[SPEAKER_02]: Who has had the better NFL career so far?
- 9:11[SPEAKER_02]: I know Malik neighbors went out with the ACL this year, but I don't think it's an argument.
- 9:14[SPEAKER_02]: I don't think anybody would argue.
- 9:16[SPEAKER_02]: That Malik neighbors hasn't been better on NFL field so far.
- 9:21[SPEAKER_02]: Then Marvin Harrison, Jr.
- 9:22[SPEAKER_02]: So just because we love Cardinal Tade here on this show, obviously we're buck eyes fans, we've watched him play.
- 9:28[SPEAKER_02]: We see the upside there.
- 9:30[SPEAKER_02]: And ESPN, like I've said, currently has him as the only wide receiver with a first round grade.
- 9:35[SPEAKER_02]: Now that can change, as we get closer to the draft.
- 9:40[SPEAKER_02]: does not mean that any of these other receivers can't also be good.
- 9:44[SPEAKER_02]: And I'm actually really getting higher on Macay Lemon out of U.S.C.
- 9:50[SPEAKER_02]: the bullet in the call for winner.
- 9:52[SPEAKER_02]: Tackles.
- 9:53[SPEAKER_02]: Again, I need to really dive into the prospects here and look at these offensive linemen where they're projected to go.
- 10:00[SPEAKER_02]: But I've got, obviously, I'm doing the mock draft here.
- 10:03[SPEAKER_02]: And I'm not going to do an Andrew Berry and go through a draft and not take any offensive linemen.
- 10:08[SPEAKER_02]: So, thanks again, Andrew, for the voice mail.
- 10:10[SPEAKER_02]: Again, if you guys want to get your voice emails on the show, head to thedogspodcast.com.
- 10:14[SPEAKER_02]: Tap leave, voice mail, the drop down menu.
- 10:17[SPEAKER_02]: You can leave a voice mail, record it, listen back, make sure you like it, whatever, send it in.
- 10:22[SPEAKER_02]: Or you can just type in a message, which as I'm saying, that's kind of why I started there.
- 10:26[SPEAKER_02]: I just remembered I do have a message from the website, from somebody.
- 10:30[SPEAKER_02]: So unless I,
- 10:32[SPEAKER_02]: I wish I could tell you guys in the chat, not let me forget, but I'm recording this by myself.
- 10:36[SPEAKER_02]: So I'm gonna have to make myself a note, and then hopefully I can hit that up.
- 10:41[SPEAKER_02]: It's a long one.
- 10:41[SPEAKER_02]: That's why I haven't done it.
- 10:43[SPEAKER_02]: It's a long message from the website, but we'll try to dive into that here.
- 10:46[SPEAKER_02]: Quick break then into the mock.
- 10:50[SPEAKER_02]: This episode is sponsored by Kaoshi.

- 11:58[SPEAKER_02]: Let's dive into this first mock draft of the off season here.
- 12:01[SPEAKER_02]: And we're going to roll into pick six in the first round for the Cleveland Browns.
- 12:08[SPEAKER_02]: And in this mock, the New York Giants do not.
- 12:12[SPEAKER_02]: They do not snipe carnal tape ahead of the Browns we take.
- 12:17[SPEAKER_02]: Carnell Tate, the Wider Seaver out of Ohio State.
- 12:19[SPEAKER_02]: If any of you followed the show, you should not be surprised at on my very first mock draft.
- 12:23[SPEAKER_02]: I'm gonna put Carnell Tate to the Cleveland Browns.
- 12:26[SPEAKER_02]: Okay.
- 12:27[SPEAKER_02]: That's happening.
- 12:28[SPEAKER_02]: Gosh darn it in this first one.
- 12:29[SPEAKER_02]: So, Carnell Tate 6, 3195, just 20 years old.
- 12:34[SPEAKER_02]: He will turn 21 here in about 10 days, I think.
- 12:36[SPEAKER_02]: 2025 season had 51 catches 875 yards and nine touchdowns.
- 12:42[SPEAKER_02]: And I forget how many games he missed was it.
- 12:45[SPEAKER_02]: It was either two or three, I believe, and I know he was banged up back in that Michigan game.
- 12:50[SPEAKER_02]: So he did a lot of this damage, 875 yards and nine touchdowns on not a full season.
- 12:57[SPEAKER_02]: So I think that's another thing to keep in mind when you're looking at the numbers and what he was able to do in the limited time that he was able to do it.
- 13:04[SPEAKER_02]: So, and again, we're talking about.
- 13:06[SPEAKER_02]: Jordan Tyson having an injury history.
- 13:08[SPEAKER_02]: It's kind of scary here.
- 13:08[SPEAKER_02]: We've got Carnell Tate, miss some time this year with an injury.
- 13:11[SPEAKER_02]: We had Jackson Smith and Jake Buck don't forget his last year at Ohio State missed like the entire season with a hamstring injury and then came out his rookie season and didn't do much.
- 13:21[SPEAKER_02]: Now he's the best receiver in the league, leading, let the whole league in receiving.
- 13:27[SPEAKER_02]: So you just can't go wrong, taking the wider receiver in the first round from Ohio State.
- 13:34[SPEAKER_02]: So really, the information I'm getting for this, I'm going to read to you guys that kind of like I did last year on these mocks from draft buzz and pro football network.
- 13:42[SPEAKER_02]: So the information from draft buzz says this.
- 13:44[SPEAKER_02]: Carnell Tate will thrive in an NFL offense that maximizes his route precision and intermediate excellence, profiling as a high-floor possession receiver who understands professional concepts.
- 13:55[SPEAKER_02]: He's a natural zebra-sever who dominates in that 10 to 20 yard, sweet spot where timing matters, with a smooth efficiency in all route running aspects translating seamlessly to NFL systems.
- 14:06[SPEAKER_02]: The tape shows a receiver whose body control of the stem and tactical intelligence creates separation without in-leat burst, fitting perfectly into timing-based systems where quarterbacks need receivers who hit landmarks precisely and understand spatial leverage against zone coverage.
- 14:23[SPEAKER_02]: His intermediate game and elite understanding of zone manipulation separate him from other prospects in this class.
- 14:29[SPEAKER_02]: It goes on to say offensive coordinators running West Coast principles will see a receiver Taylor made for their system, someone who understands how to beat man coverage with technique rather than pure athleticism.
- 14:39[SPEAKER_02]: The film reveals a receiver who hunts first downs with purpose.
- 14:43[SPEAKER_02]: His competitive mentality shows up most clearly when corners try to bully him.
- 14:48[SPEAKER_02]: Instead of wilting, he fights through contact and makes tough grabs any way with his reliable hands and toughness over the middle.
- 14:56[SPEAKER_02]: His contested catch.
- 14:58[SPEAKER_02]: numbers this year in college were insane.
- 15:00[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know off top of my head here.
- 15:02[SPEAKER_02]: I didn't look what they ended with.
- 15:03[SPEAKER_02]: But I know.
- 15:04[SPEAKER_02]: At the end of the season, he was like 12 or 14 on contested catchers during the season.
- 15:10[SPEAKER_02]: The dude goes up.
- 15:12[SPEAKER_02]: Go go down the field.
- 15:13[SPEAKER_02]: Go up for the ball and come down with it.
- 15:16[SPEAKER_02]: This draft buzz goes on to say, what keeps Tate from being considered truly elite is speed?
- 15:23[SPEAKER_02]: Good, but not game breaking with concerns about whether his rumored time reflects his developmental ceiling and that rumored time, I believe, is a four six, which is not fast.
- 15:35[SPEAKER_02]: for a wider receiver.
- 15:36[SPEAKER_02]: I don't expect Cardinal Tate will be running the 40 at his Pro Day or at the Combine.
- 15:41[SPEAKER_02]: He wins with his brain and his hands, not by simply running past offenders, though this limitation could impact his draft stocks significantly.
- 15:48[SPEAKER_02]: When I compare his tape to recent Ohio State products, I see more Chris O'Lave than Garrett Wilson in his game.
- 15:55[SPEAKER_02]: That's fine with me.
- 15:56[SPEAKER_02]: A technician who wins with nuance rather than pure explosiveness, he's a player with immediate NFL readiness, but potentially limited upside-repears ending a day one contributor with immediate third-down value who brings championship pedigree despite lacking elite natural gifts.
- 16:12[SPEAKER_02]: Now, be remember, and maybe I'm missed remembering this, but I'm pretty sure when Chris Olave came out.
- 16:19[SPEAKER_02]: He was not projected to run the 40-time that he did, and he ended up crushing the 40.
- 16:27[SPEAKER_02]: So I wanna keep some of that stuff in mind.
- 16:30[SPEAKER_02]: We're here at beginning of January.
- 16:33[SPEAKER_02]: We've got a long way to go to the combine.
- 16:36[SPEAKER_02]: We've got a long way to go to the draft.
- 16:38[SPEAKER_02]: So things will change, but this is where these analysts,
- 16:44[SPEAKER_02]: Scouts and everything currently sit on Cardinal T and then you flip over to Pro football network and here's what they say about Cardinal T He has reinvented his game and has become a true route running expert with rare sync throttle control and stem IQ for his size He still has the long strider range body control on catch point focus that makes him so potent in 50 50 situations like I talked about a little bit ago
- 17:07[SPEAKER_02]: but he's a true multi-level separator who can win one-on-one convert on clutch downs and generate big plays.
- 17:14[SPEAKER_02]: A complete X or movement Z, Tate will assuredly keep Ohio State's first round streak at Wydersever alive and he has impact starter ability.
- 17:23[SPEAKER_02]: So there you go.
- 17:25[SPEAKER_02]: Pick six in the first round, the Cleveland Browns take car and I'll take wider seaver from Ohio State.
- 17:32[SPEAKER_02]: Now, Andrew, everybody else out there, where should the Browns go at pick 28?
- 17:37[SPEAKER_02]: I just took a receiver at six.
- 17:40[SPEAKER_02]: I was torn here.
- 17:42[SPEAKER_02]: I was torn here because I wanted to take a certain position and then as I did a little more research on to projected availability, again, I used mock draft database when I put these mock drafts together, because they do an aggregate of all the mock drafts being done out there, all the industry.
- 18:01[SPEAKER_02]: So ESPN, PFF, CBS, sports illustrate all the mock drafts that get done out there.
- 18:07[SPEAKER_02]: the average it out to where each player is projected to go and I like doing it that way.
- 18:14[SPEAKER_02]: Last year it really helped me understand where players should or could be available on the draft.
- 18:19[SPEAKER_02]: And when I went through the next three picks after 28, it changed my mind about what to do.
- 18:26[SPEAKER_02]: at pick 28.
- 18:27[SPEAKER_02]: So pick 28th Brown's double tap that wide receiver position KC concept C on wide receiver out of Texas A and M 5 foot 11 190 pounds 21 years old.
- 18:41[SPEAKER_02]: Concepcion had 61 catches for 919 yards and 9 touchdowns this year, Texas A&M.
- 18:47[SPEAKER_02]: He also rushed 10 times for 75 yards and another score.
- 18:52[SPEAKER_02]: Now, Concepcion, this is from Traftbus.
- 18:55[SPEAKER_02]: His bread and butter comes when he's working the intermediate parts of the field.
- 18:59[SPEAKER_02]: Watch him on dig routes and deep overs and you see a completely different player than the guy running bubble screens.
- 19:03[SPEAKER_02]: He's at his best when he can build up speed and use his crafty footwork to gain separation, rather than
- 19:11[SPEAKER_02]: This isn't a guy who will consistently win with Roth.
- 19:13[SPEAKER_02]: Let us say him in the NFL.
- 19:14[SPEAKER_02]: He wins with savvy and route detail.
- 19:17[SPEAKER_02]: His role at the next level lands somewhere between a complimentary piece and offensive chess piece.
- 19:22[SPEAKER_02]: You can't stick him in there as an every down option early on.
- 19:25[SPEAKER_02]: He'll get bodied in blocking situations on the boundary.
- 19:28[SPEAKER_02]: but give him opportunities to find soft spots and get zoned.
- 19:32[SPEAKER_02]: That's where his film really pops.
- 19:34[SPEAKER_02]: He's got natural feel for space that summer severs never develop.
- 19:38[SPEAKER_02]: The 2025 season at Texas A&M will be massive.
- 19:41[SPEAKER_02]: This is obviously written before the year.
- 19:44[SPEAKER_02]: This says we will need to see if that sophomore slump was just a blipper or real concern.
- 19:48[SPEAKER_02]: You got to yada yada yada.
- 19:49[SPEAKER_02]: But he's got a high floor as a guy who can line up all over the formation.
- 19:52[SPEAKER_02]: What I love most is how he runs after the catch got some nasty to his game that makes him play bigger than his size shows on paper.
- 19:59[SPEAKER_02]: So again, this information is stuff's going to get updated because it's not even all the scouts have updated their stuff after this.
- 20:04[SPEAKER_02]: 2025 football season, Pro football networks says Casey Concepcion will be a darling of analytically-minded evaluators after his true freshman breakout at NC State.
- 20:15[SPEAKER_02]: In his very first collegiate season, he caught 71 passes for 839 yards and 10 touchdowns.
- 20:22[SPEAKER_02]: He added 320 more yards on the ground, 7.8 yards per attempt, good for 1,159 total yards from skimage and a total you heard it share over 25% as a freshman, a true freshman.
- 20:38[SPEAKER_02]: That's insane.
- 20:41[SPEAKER_02]: That's a stud right there.
- 20:43[SPEAKER_02]: His second season of NC State was much less efficient, but in a new environment, he may be able to reclaim a standing in the NFL draft, pecking order again that they haven't even updated their stuff from this year yet, either so.
- 20:54[SPEAKER_02]: It's really difficult to get a good gauge in what Scouts are currently saying about a lot of these players.
- 20:59[SPEAKER_02]: But
- 21:00[SPEAKER_02]: I know that he's projected first round, I don't think anybody really has him falling out of the first round.
- 21:05[SPEAKER_02]: I think the snake him at the end of the second round or the end of the first round here right before the second round is a good spot for Cleveland to get two receivers.
- 21:13[SPEAKER_02]: One who can come in and contribute immediately in Carnell Tate.
- 21:16[SPEAKER_02]: and then conception can kind of work his way in as he develops and grows at the NFL level, because we still have Jerry Judy, I know how we feel about Jerry Judy, but in a better offensive system with a quarterback behind an offensive line that can actually block for him and I understand I have not taken offensive line, and yet we'll talk about that.
- 21:38[SPEAKER_02]: I think Jerry Judy can be better than what we saw this year, obviously.
- 21:42[SPEAKER_02]: We saw it last year in 2024.
- 21:44[SPEAKER_02]: He's better than what we saw this year.
- 21:46[SPEAKER_02]: He's just, he's head case.
- 21:48[SPEAKER_02]: So that's his problem.
- 21:50[SPEAKER_02]: And we also have Senator Tillman.
- 21:51[SPEAKER_02]: We'll still have Isaiah Bond.
- 21:53[SPEAKER_02]: We are going to have a much better wide receiver core to incorporate a guy like concepts to you on, especially if we take tape or Tyson, either one early on in the first round.
- 22:05[SPEAKER_02]: Now, I'm projecting the browns to go more heavy at offensive line in free agency.
- 22:11[SPEAKER_02]: Then, why do receiver?
- 22:12[SPEAKER_02]: If you go look at the available free agent said each position, I don't have it up right now, so I'm not going to read the names.
- 22:16[SPEAKER_02]: I don't care.
- 22:17[SPEAKER_02]: I don't want to read the names.
- 22:19[SPEAKER_02]: Why do receivers and big old nothing burger?
- 22:21[SPEAKER_02]: I've said it a million times before, and I will say it a million times again.
- 22:24[SPEAKER_02]: You do not find a high level elite number one why do receiver in free agency?
- 22:29[SPEAKER_02]: They don't exist.
- 22:32[SPEAKER_02]: And the question is, why, why don't they exist in free agency Josh?
- 22:35[SPEAKER_02]: Why can't you get one in free agency?
- 22:38[SPEAKER_02]: Because teams that have that player do not let him hit free agency.
- 22:43[SPEAKER_02]: He either gets extended or he gets traded.
- 22:47[SPEAKER_02]: Those players are so highly sought after that they never hit free agency.
- 22:54[SPEAKER_02]: Go back.
- 22:55[SPEAKER_02]: Tell me the last alpha level wide receiver one that somebody picked up in free agency.
- 23:03[SPEAKER_02]: It does not happen outside of like a Devante Adams who's 37,000 years old.
- 23:09[SPEAKER_02]: Yes, those kind of players can be had in free agency.
- 23:12[SPEAKER_02]: But the young stud guys, the high level elite players, they're not in free agency.
- 23:18[SPEAKER_02]: Offensive line on the other hand, a little different store, you can get good high level starting caliber players on your offensive line in free agency.
- 23:28[SPEAKER_02]: So I'm anticipating Andrew Barry to be very active and very aggressive at the offensive line position in free agency, which
- 23:35[SPEAKER_02]: allows me to take two wider stevers in the first round, like I just did in this mock draft now.
- 23:40[SPEAKER_02]: Tony guys right now, not every mock I do leading up to the draft in the next three four months is going to have two wider severs in the first round, just not going to happen.
- 23:48[SPEAKER_02]: This time though, to kick off the draft talk this year, it did because it picked 39.
- 23:54[SPEAKER_02]: I am taking offensive linemen, Jennings, Dunker out of Iowa, six foot, five, three hundred
- 24:05[SPEAKER_02]: Dunker has legitimate NFL talent with a ceiling that will depend entirely on where teams decide to play him.
- 24:12[SPEAKER_02]: At Iowa, he dominated as a rogue grader in the run game with overwhelming power and finishing ability, but the transition to the pros will require positional clarity.
- 24:22[SPEAKER_02]: So whether they want to play him at tackle or guard.
- 24:26[SPEAKER_02]: Kind of like this sort of player right here because guess what the Brown's need?
- 24:29[SPEAKER_02]: Tackle and guard.
- 24:31[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know what they're going to address or how though address each of those positions in free agency.
- 24:36[SPEAKER_02]: So right now, early in this process, I like a guy like Jennings Dunker.
- 24:41[SPEAKER_02]: When facing elite speed rushers, his footwork occasionally betrays him and technical refinements in his past protection will be necessary regardless of position.
- 24:49[SPEAKER_02]: His hand usage needs polish too often, he's late with his punch allowing defenders into his chest before he can establish control.
- 24:56[SPEAKER_02]: While his nastiness and play strength jump off the tape, NFL defenders will exploit his occasional high pad level and limited lateral agility.
- 25:04[SPEAKER_02]: Teams must decide whether his future lies a tackle, where his length is questionable, or inside a guard where his mulling style seems tailor-made.
- 25:12[SPEAKER_02]: What makes Dunker and Triege isn't just the physical tools, but the football intelligence that shows up when diagnosing stunts and blitzes.
- 25:20[SPEAKER_02]: The cerebral side of his game, perhaps influenced by his off-field intellectual curiosity, manifest an excellent zone blocking angles and second-level targeting.
- 25:30[SPEAKER_02]: When the pads come on, darker transforms into a tone-setter, whose presence elevates the entire offensive lines of mentality.
- 25:38[SPEAKER_02]: He brings the same ferocity, whether leading the way on power runs or anchoring in past protection.
- 25:43[SPEAKER_02]: There's undeniable, started potential here for zone heavy offensive schemes, but he'll need coaching to maximize his toolkit at the next level.
- 25:50[SPEAKER_02]: The intangibles, toughness, competitiveness, football character,
- 25:55[SPEAKER_02]: are all there in spades.
- 25:57[SPEAKER_02]: In a league where physicality still matters, dunkers game has staying power, even as technical refinements remain ongoing.
- 26:06[SPEAKER_02]: I like the dude.
- 26:07[SPEAKER_02]: I, this is one of the guys I'm a little bit more familiar with just from like during the season, reading on some of these offensive linemen.
- 26:13[SPEAKER_02]: I like Jennings Dunker.
- 26:14[SPEAKER_02]: We'll see how that evaluation changes or progresses over the draft season here, but this is a guy that I would be very interesting, putting a little bit more of that nasty, that nasty that we got from White Teller earlier in his career.
- 26:29[SPEAKER_02]: Get it back in here on this offensive line.
- 26:34[SPEAKER_02]: This episode is sponsored by Vivid Seats.

- 27:52[SPEAKER_02]: pro football network, Jennings Dunker is the name you see when you look up old school offensive lineman in the dictionary.
- 27:58[SPEAKER_02]: He's a barrel chested brute with a mammoth upper body and explosive lower body power.
- 28:04[SPEAKER_02]: And as you'd expect from an old school lineman, he relishes the chance to bury defenders on blocks any chance he gets.
- 28:10[SPEAKER_02]: Dunker excels at firing off the snap, driving his legs in the run game and he has the high level raw power element to generate hefty displacement off the line.
- 28:18[SPEAKER_02]: Meanwhile, in past protection, he's quietly very sound when it comes to playing balance, square, and timing his punches effectively.
- 28:25[SPEAKER_02]: He's somewhat stiff in the hips without a lead length, and those two factors could push him inside to the guard position, but he's a quality talent and a tone setter at offensive tackle or guard.
- 28:37[SPEAKER_02]: Jennings Dunker, that's where the Browns go in the second round with Pick 39.
- 28:42[SPEAKER_02]: Now, the next pick 70, we are going to double tap this offensive line position the way we double taped wide receiver earlier, and it picks 70, we are going offensive tackle Carter Smith from Indiana, six foot five, three hundred and eight pounds.
- 28:58[SPEAKER_02]: Carter Smith brings the functional strength competitive makeup in three years of high level starting experience that translates immediately.
- 29:06[SPEAKER_02]: to professional football.
- 29:07[SPEAKER_02]: His performance against elite Big 10 competition, particularly daily battles against potential first-rounder Macau, Kamera, in practice, demonstrates readiness for the intensity jump.
- 29:18[SPEAKER_02]: The question mark center on physical dimensions and positional versatility rather than ability, if measurements confirm adequate arm length at the combine Smith as the anchor punch timing and awareness to hold down an NFL tackle spot in a gap scheme attack.
- 29:32[SPEAKER_02]: his temperament and finishing ability fit perfectly in a downhill running system that values physicality over finesse the type of offense that wants to impose its will rather than operate in space.
- 29:44[SPEAKER_02]: The alternate path involves kicking Smith inside the guardwear's power with translate even more effectively and his length concerns would vanish.
- 29:51[SPEAKER_02]: His inexperienced at the position creates some risk but his football intelligence here we go again, same thing as Dunker.
- 29:56[SPEAKER_02]: His
- 29:59[SPEAKER_02]: and technical foundations suggest the transition wouldn't require extensive retooling, just differently on marks and angles to learn.
- 30:07[SPEAKER_02]: The leverage advantage inside would be substantial, and his ability to climb to linebackers on combo blocks already resembles what NFL guards do in their sleep.
- 30:16[SPEAKER_02]: Teams running heavy personnel groupings with multiple tight-ends and full-backs should salivate over what Smith could provide as a molar in the A or B gap.
- 30:25[SPEAKER_02]: His willingness to strain and sustain through contact gives him starter potential wherever he lines up.
- 30:32[SPEAKER_02]: last paragraph here for Carter Smith.
- 30:35[SPEAKER_02]: He won't dazzle anyone with athletic testing numbers, but football has played on grass, not on track.
- 30:40[SPEAKER_02]: We say that all the time.
- 30:41[SPEAKER_02]: His taper vehicles a nasty effective blocker who helps transfer her help to transform Indiana from Dormat to contender in just two seasons.
- 30:50[SPEAKER_02]: That resume speaks louder than any 40 time could ever speak.
- 30:53[SPEAKER_02]: Whether he sticks a tack or moves inside the Gar Smith combination of power awareness and competitive
- 31:01[SPEAKER_02]: same assessment that I just referred Jennings dunker gives him legitimate staying power as an NFL starter for a coach who values toughness over flash
- 31:12[SPEAKER_02]: I'm trying to get gritty guys.
- 31:13[SPEAKER_02]: I'm trying to get nasty, dirty, mulling on my offensive line in Jennings, Dunker and Carter Smith are two guys that I'm very interested to see if the Browns are able to get in the NFL draft.
- 31:25[SPEAKER_02]: And the final pick for today's rough mock draft, the first one of the pre-ear off-season, I keep wanting to stay pre-season, the off-season here.
- 31:33[SPEAKER_02]: We're going to take our first defensive player and I really hesitate here because I just wanted to go all off-ends all the time.
- 31:40[SPEAKER_02]: But there is a position on defense.
- 31:42[SPEAKER_02]: We need to address, and I think this guy could be a good fit.
- 31:45[SPEAKER_02]: At least he as it sits here in January.
- 31:48[SPEAKER_02]: So with Pick 107, the Brown Select Safety Jalen Kilgore out of South Carolina, six foot one, two, 19, big kid.
- 31:58[SPEAKER_02]: Big kid at the safety position, 20 years old.
- 32:01[SPEAKER_02]: So he's another youngster.
- 32:02[SPEAKER_02]: All these players fit the age guard rails for Andrew Barry very well and gives the Browns a good
- 32:09[SPEAKER_02]: projection into the future with their young core that they drafted last year.
- 32:14[SPEAKER_02]: So, the breakdown on Kilgore with Kilgore, you are watching a defensive back who's run support jumps off the screen while his coverage skills remain a work in progress.
- 32:23[SPEAKER_02]: There's undeniable value in his versatility across the secondary, though his tendencies to gamble and zone coverage will need refinement against NFL caliber quarterbacks.
- 32:32[SPEAKER_02]: The size speed combination creates matchup opportunities against bigger receiving targets, yet the same aggressiveness occasionally, leaving some vulnerable to double moves from craftier
- 32:44[SPEAKER_02]: Killgore's transition from high school wide receiver to SEC Ballhawk reveals itself in how naturally he tracks the ball and flight, snaking those five interceptions last season with the instincts of someone who understands offensive intentions.
- 32:58[SPEAKER_02]: Despite this natural playmaking ability, his technique and man coverage still shows some inconsistencies that better receivers will exploit if it's not addressed.
- 33:06[SPEAKER_02]: The modern game demands defensive backs who can operate in multiple roles without substitution,
- 33:14[SPEAKER_02]: though developing more discipline in his assignments would elevate his overall effectiveness.
- 33:19[SPEAKER_02]: And then they go on to talk about Kilgore in the upcoming season because again, this has not been updated, but Prophobile Network goes on to say Jalen Kilgore.
- 33:26[SPEAKER_02]: Prophiles is one of the most unique and multifaceted defensive backs in the 2026 NFL draft.
- 33:32[SPEAKER_02]: At 6-1, 2-19 with sprawling length and charged up explosion, he's taken reps at boundary corner back, nickel, box safety, and field safety.
- 33:41[SPEAKER_02]: Kilgore's versatility is a testament to his intelligence, vision and football IQ, all traits that he used in tandem with his physical gifts to rack up three tackle for loss, five interceptions, and five pass break ups back in 2024.
- 33:54[SPEAKER_02]: While his muscle bound to an 19-pound frame embues his game with modest hip stiffness at times, he has the corrective and reactive athleticism to match and plant and drive over top stems, and with his closing speed, he can hawk over ill-fated passes and punish in support.
- 34:11[SPEAKER_02]: Best as a big nickel, but with all encompassing flexibility, kill work can be a dynamic glue guy for an NFL defense.
- 34:19[SPEAKER_02]: And if Jim Schwartz is still back here, running the Browns defense in 2026, I think Jalen Killgore could be a nice addition to that secondary at the safety position.
- 34:31[SPEAKER_02]: So there you go, guys.
- 34:32[SPEAKER_02]: Let me know what you think in the comments as you're following along here.
- 34:35[SPEAKER_02]: Again, rough first mock draft here of the offseason have not dive too deep in the prospect or anything, but I know you guys were clamoring for some draft talk, for some mock draft projections and things like that.
- 34:47[SPEAKER_02]: So here we go.
- 34:49[SPEAKER_02]: first one of the offices in the Browns, first five picks in the draft go pick six Carnell Tate wide receiver from the Ohio State University pick 28 from the Jacksonville Drake wires they go KC Concepts the own wide receiver Texas ANM
- 35:06[SPEAKER_02]: And then moving on, pick 9 or pick 39 offensive linemen, tackle or guard Jennings Dunker out of Iowa, pick 70 offensive tackle or potentially offensive guard Carter Smith out of Indiana.
- 35:21[SPEAKER_02]: And then to wrap it all up, they go pick 107 safety.
- 35:25[SPEAKER_02]: Jalen Kilgore out of South Carolina.
- 35:28[SPEAKER_02]: Let me know what you guys think, appreciate you tuning in.
- 35:29[SPEAKER_02]: This is always fun to do.
- 35:31[SPEAKER_02]: Again, I know I said I was going to get to that message from the website, but I'm going to save that for the next episode.

- 35:40[SPEAKER_02]: It's a little bit later here than I intended for it to go.
- 35:44[SPEAKER_02]: And my baby on the monitor is up and freaking crying.
