- 0:00Speaker 1: Off the Bench with Jacob Hester and Matt Flynn.
- 0:03Speaker 2: Let's go, baby, let's go.
- 0:05Speaker 1: From a championship backfield to your morning drive. Hands to Hester,
- 0:08Speaker 1: and Hester, yep, got it, five out of five. You're
- 0:12Speaker 1: locked in to Off the Bench. Flynn is back.
- 0:14Speaker 3: To throw for the end zone ball.
- 0:18Speaker 1: Live from the Raising Cane Studio, here's Jacob Hester and
- 0:23Speaker 1: Matt Flynn.
- 0:45Speaker 4: Welcome in OTV here on this Monday, Monday, Monday.
- 0:49Speaker 2: Your house got a case of the Mondays. Flynn, Alondra, Tay-Tay.
- 0:58Speaker 4: Fresh off beating the ever-living, ever-loving Hail out to Texas.
- 1:04Speaker 2: A & M Aggies. Double. Isn't that what they do? Yeah.
- 1:09Speaker 3: You got to lean back and do the little knee
- 1:12Speaker 3: thing for no reason at all. But, yeah, you got it. Yeah,
- 1:16Speaker 3: that too.
- 1:17Speaker 5: Weekend winner.
- 1:18Speaker 2: Actually, they just go fight Texas Aggies.
- 1:21Speaker 3: Which I don't think anybody outside of college stations ever
- 1:23Speaker 3: called them that.
- 1:24Speaker 4: Nerds.
- 1:27Speaker 3: Who do you have this week fighting Texas Aggies? It'd
- 1:30Speaker 3: be like, no, but like what team?
- 1:31Speaker 5: And they didn't put up a lot of fight on Saturday.
- 1:33Speaker 2: No, they quit.
- 1:36Speaker 6: They quit. And it wasn't even late in the game
- 1:39Speaker 6: when they quit.
- 1:39Speaker 4: No.
- 1:40Speaker 3: Kicking that field goal and not going for it. I
- 1:41Speaker 3: was like, they have conceded. And it's halfway through the
- 1:43Speaker 3: third quarter.
- 1:45Speaker 2: I think it was.
- 1:46Speaker 4: The second Jackson Harris touchdown where Lane kind of like
- 1:51Speaker 4: threw like a sledgehammer.
- 1:54Speaker 2: It's over. Nail in the coffin. Lay down, please.
- 1:59Speaker 5: It was a dirt.
- 2:00Speaker 2: Either way. I like that. He did something. That was fun.
- 2:05Speaker 2: Did you say a little parenting was going on between
- 2:09Speaker 2: Lane and Mike Elko? Like a who's your daddy type deal? Yeah.
- 2:13Speaker 2: I did.
- 2:14Speaker 4: Because he was talking about parenting from the SEC to Lane.
- 2:18Speaker 5: It was like, I'm your daddy.
- 2:19Speaker 2: Belt to butt.
- 2:22Speaker 5: BTB.
- 2:23Speaker 2: BTB. Everybody says it.
- 2:25Speaker 1: All the time.
- 2:25Speaker 2: A little bit later on, it'll be BTA. Right now,
- 2:28Speaker 2: it's BTB. 8 a.m. The A's are going to be flying.
- 2:34Speaker 2: We have respect around here for children. Yeah, for the
- 2:37Speaker 2: early car pullers. It is early for car pull, though. Yeah,
- 2:40Speaker 2: mine's a 705. They get in the car. That's tough.
- 2:44Speaker 4: So I guess if you want to say some A's,
- 2:45Speaker 4: you'd have to actually say them, like, in the next
- 2:47Speaker 4: 90 seconds.
- 2:49Speaker 1: Ass.
- 2:50Speaker 5: Bell to ass.
- 2:51Speaker 3: Get them all in, Matt.
- 2:52Speaker 5: Everybody hurry. Taylor, you didn't go yet.
- 2:55Speaker 2: Earmuffs. Earmuffs. All right. No, that was a lot of
- 3:00Speaker 2: fun watching that game. I assume that the stadium was rocking. Yeah,
- 3:06Speaker 2: it was good. I also assume it was not rocking
- 3:08Speaker 2: at a certain point, though, because there was too much
- 3:13Speaker 2: belt going on.
- 3:14Speaker 6: Not really. I think they enjoyed the belt.
- 3:17Speaker 2: I think so. Because of last year.
- 3:18Speaker 4: I mean, they even booed the A & M marching
- 3:21Speaker 4: band when they came on the field for halftime.
- 3:23Speaker 5: I didn't love that.
- 3:24Speaker 2: Actually, I loved it.
- 3:25Speaker 5: I think that band's a little cool.
- 3:28Speaker 2: No, it's not.
- 3:30Speaker 3: It's Texas A & M.
- 3:31Speaker 2: No.
- 3:32Speaker 7: I mean, their band's a little cool.
- 3:36Speaker 2: It's not nearly as cool.
- 3:39Speaker 5: Not as cool as, no, but I mean, they do.
- 3:42Speaker 6: Some pretty cool stuff. We got to talk about this later.
- 3:46Speaker 6: We don't have time right now.
- 3:48Speaker 2: We got three hours. Nothing about A & M is cool.
- 3:50Speaker 3: That's correct, yes.
- 3:51Speaker 1: I agree.
- 3:51Speaker 7: I agree.
- 3:52Speaker 3: But they're banned. A & M also enjoyed the belt
- 3:56Speaker 3: on Saturday. That's the type of school that they are.
- 3:58Speaker 3: Nothing about A & M is cool or fun.
- 4:01Speaker 5: They're like, more, please.
- 4:03Speaker 8: Yes.
- 4:03Speaker 4: Stop.
- 4:05Speaker 2: The band looks like it's soldiers marching in formation a
- 4:08Speaker 2: little bit.
- 4:09Speaker 3: But they're not. They're not. They're not a male team.
- 4:12Speaker 2: But it reminds me. But they're not.
- 4:14Speaker 5: And then the one person with the tons.
- 4:15Speaker 3: They're literally like stolen valor.
- 4:18Speaker 2: Yes.
- 4:20Speaker 9: Matt.
- 4:21Speaker 3: Highest ranked member of the Corps of Cadets.
- 4:23Speaker 2: Who is it?
- 4:23Speaker 3: Which one of those guys out there?
- 4:27Speaker 2: Which one of what guys?
- 4:28Speaker 3: It's the dog. It's the collie dog.
- 4:29Speaker 2: It is the dog. It's an actual.
- 4:31Speaker 3: It's the highest ranking member.
- 4:33Speaker 2: Yeah. What does that mean?
- 4:35Speaker 3: It means she outranks all the actual humans that are
- 4:38Speaker 3: in the Corps of Cadets.
- 4:39Speaker 5: If she barks in class, class is dismissed.
- 4:42Speaker 2: I thought she just goes into class.
- 4:45Speaker 4: No, no, no.
- 4:45Speaker 5: She's in the class. She has to bark.
- 4:47Speaker 3: And the sophomore cadet takes care of Reveille. If Reveille
- 4:52Speaker 3: jumps on the bed, the cadet has to take the floor.
- 4:55Speaker 5: That's crazy.
- 4:55Speaker 3: No chance in hell I'm ever doing that. Get off
- 4:59Speaker 3: the bed, bro.
- 5:02Speaker 2: Well, you don't have any respect.
- 5:04Speaker 4: I've told y'all this before, but I think it's been
- 5:06Speaker 4: a while. On my visit to Texas A & M,
- 5:08Speaker 4: they were playing Nebraska. Nebraska was still in the Big 12,
- 5:11Speaker 4: so it was A & M. And Nebraska wins at
- 5:14Speaker 4: Kyle Field, like, last second. And, you know, 50 fans
- 5:18Speaker 4: from Nebraska kind of storm the field or whatever. And
- 5:21Speaker 4: the cadets draw their swords out, and they're swinging them
- 5:26Speaker 4: like they're really going to cut somebody up. I was like, man,
- 5:30Speaker 4: if you don't holster that plastic-ass sword, what are you doing?
- 5:34Speaker 4: I was like, I'm not coming to this place. There
- 5:37Speaker 4: is no chance I'm coming to this place.
- 5:38Speaker 2: Seize your swords. That's right, Adam.
- 5:42Speaker 3: Yeah, I'd have packed my bags and left. Did you
- 5:46Speaker 3: stay the night at that point, or were you like,
- 5:47Speaker 3: I'm out of here?
- 5:48Speaker 2: Yeah, we just drive back. We don't need you playing.
- 5:51Speaker 2: We're good. We don't need that. They got swords.
- 5:55Speaker 4: I mean, I was like, did this man just pull
- 5:58Speaker 4: out a sword on these other humans?
- 6:00Speaker 2: Yeah, hold it like this. No, they were doing it
- 6:02Speaker 2: like this. Zorro. Not even the right way. They have
- 6:07Speaker 2: a good form.
- 6:09Speaker 5: What do you know about form?
- 6:11Speaker 2: Sword form?
- 6:12Speaker 5: What do you know about sword form?
- 6:13Speaker 2: Oh, I've seen some movies now. Trust me. I could
- 6:15Speaker 2: do it better than them. Three Musketeers?
- 6:19Speaker 9: Oh, yeah.
- 6:19Speaker 2: Oh, yeah. So you got it. So it was 35-6.
- 6:25Speaker 4: It was a complete just dismantling of A & M.
- 6:28Speaker 6: The crazy part about it is it could have been worse.
- 6:31Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 6:33Speaker 2: Like, you missed a field goal.
- 6:35Speaker 4: You dropped a touchdown in the end zone. You didn't
- 6:38Speaker 4: have to be overly aggressive, so you weren't, which I get.
- 6:43Speaker 4: It very easily.
- 6:44Speaker 2: Could have been.
- 6:45Speaker 5: Down to the last second, it could have been 41 to. Oh, yeah.
- 6:49Speaker 2: I mean, that was not a very good attempt.
- 6:53Speaker 5: Hunt was sitting next to me.
- 6:54Speaker 2: I wanted that one bad, too.
- 6:55Speaker 7: Hunt was like, can we just kneel? And I was like, no,
- 6:58Speaker 7: I want a 40 piece.
- 6:59Speaker 6: Me and Hunt are so different.
- 7:02Speaker 5: I said, no, we want 40.
- 7:03Speaker 4: And look, he's going to come in here and you're
- 7:06Speaker 4: going to say injuries and blah, blah, blah, blah. I
- 7:08Speaker 4: wanted that touchdown so bad that when he dropped it,
- 7:11Speaker 4: I was standing up and.
- 7:13Speaker 2: I went to a full squat.
- 7:14Speaker 3: And it's not like you can say.
- 7:15Speaker 2: I wanted it so bad. You can fumble.
- 7:17Speaker 3: Crazy things can happen. It's 35-6, bud. There's no risk
- 7:19Speaker 3: in doing that.
- 7:20Speaker 4: I just wanted one more last play of the game,
- 7:23Speaker 4: put a stamp on the end of it.
- 7:24Speaker 2: Something bad could happen, but also something good could happen
- 7:28Speaker 2: if you think about it.
- 7:28Speaker 3: It's pretty much every play, I would say. I would
- 7:31Speaker 3: argue that's every play.
- 7:32Speaker 5: It's a real coin toss, yeah.
- 7:33Speaker 2: Something about like 42-6. I just felt right. It felt
- 7:37Speaker 2: a little bit better for me. Like, was there an overbet?
- 7:40Speaker 6: No, I have no idea what the line was.
- 7:42Speaker 4: I don't even know what the– I'm just saying, like,
- 7:44Speaker 4: for me, after how they acted last year in your stadium,
- 7:47Speaker 4: just put a 42 piece on them.
- 7:50Speaker 5: Yeah, I think after last year, I don't care.
- 7:52Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 7:52Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 7:52Speaker 6: And it was a good play.
- 7:55Speaker 2: And look, and honestly, I think we all kind of
- 7:59Speaker 2: get it too. Like, they– not to say that you
- 8:03Speaker 2: should ever act a certain way, but they– The way
- 8:07Speaker 2: they played against us last year, they kind of deserve
- 8:09Speaker 2: to be able to take over your spot for a
- 8:12Speaker 2: little bit.
- 8:12Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 8:13Speaker 2: But it also was great fuel for us this year
- 8:15Speaker 2: and got us a new head coach. I'm not that
- 8:19Speaker 2: mad about it.
- 8:20Speaker 5: I'm not mad about it at all.
- 8:21Speaker 2: Y'all came in here and whipped our tails because it's
- 8:24Speaker 2: 7-0-9 now. Yeah. Our butts. So y'all can take over.
- 8:29Speaker 2: When we go to Kyle Field and when we should
- 8:33Speaker 2: take it over.
- 8:33Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 8:34Speaker 2: If we beat them like that, we should take it over.
- 8:38Speaker 7: I feel like it was the– I mean, obviously, since
- 8:41Speaker 7: he came in, it was a turning of the page.
- 8:43Speaker 7: But it just felt like putting the Brian Kelly era
- 8:46Speaker 7: completely to rest. Like, we got that monkey off our back.
- 8:51Speaker 5: Let's go.
- 8:52Speaker 3: I was looking through a buddy of mine during the game, and, like,
- 8:54Speaker 3: that fourth down play where you throw a deep to
- 8:57Speaker 3: Jackson Harris, that was the moment where you're like, Lane
- 9:00Speaker 3: Kiffin's our head coach now. That's the Lane Kiffin offense that.
- 9:03Speaker 2: We've been waiting to see.
- 9:04Speaker 4: Well, I've been waiting– for the celebrating before the play
- 9:08Speaker 4: actually happened because he knew he had it.
- 9:11Speaker 2: I've seen it a couple times where he's done like this.
- 9:13Speaker 4: I've been waiting for that because I always thought it
- 9:16Speaker 4: was pretty fun when he threw the play sheet up
- 9:18Speaker 4: at Ole Miss.
- 9:18Speaker 2: I was like, that looks fun.
- 9:21Speaker 6: I want to hang out with a team that does that.
- 9:23Speaker 2: He did that at Bama too when he was a coordinator.
- 9:26Speaker 4: So when the ball was snapped, so I can actually
- 9:30Speaker 4: see the coaches too from our booth. If I lean
- 9:34Speaker 4: right over, I can see them. And, like, I could tell, like,
- 9:38Speaker 4: they were excited when the ball was snapped. And then
- 9:39Speaker 4: I kind of, like, immediately went down. And you see
- 9:41Speaker 4: the head coach kind of, like, put the one hand
- 9:43Speaker 4: up and then, like, start kind of jogging.
- 9:45Speaker 2: I'm like, okay, they feel pretty good about this one.
- 9:49Speaker 2: Because you script a certain play to go against a
- 9:51Speaker 2: certain look. It's kind of like when you have a
- 9:55Speaker 2: fake field goal up. And you're like, this is the
- 9:57Speaker 2: one look that's part of this we're drawing this play
- 9:59Speaker 2: for this one look and then you get that look
- 10:02Speaker 2: as a coach you're like yeah we did it Jackson Harris.
- 10:07Speaker 2: Actually gave it to us. Yeah.
- 10:08Speaker 7: Jackson Harris after the game was like, whenever I went
- 10:11Speaker 7: up there and he called it, my heart started beating
- 10:13Speaker 7: real fast because I knew, like, we had repped that
- 10:15Speaker 7: all week.
- 10:16Speaker 2: Oh, yeah.
- 10:16Speaker 5: And so he was like, I knew that we were
- 10:18Speaker 5: about to get it right there. Like, Jackson Harris was
- 10:20Speaker 5: really excited.
- 10:21Speaker 2: Hardest catch you'll ever make.
- 10:22Speaker 4: That's what somebody next to me, Patrick Wright, who does
- 10:25Speaker 4: our stats, he goes like, Because I said that on
- 10:27Speaker 4: the broadcast. Like, that's the hardest catch and throw that
- 10:29Speaker 4: those two will ever make. He goes, what do you
- 10:31Speaker 4: mean by that? He's like, it's wide open. I go, exactly.
- 10:34Speaker 4: I said, for the receiver, that ball's in the air
- 10:36Speaker 4: for like 35 seconds. And you'll go, do I catch
- 10:39Speaker 4: it with my body? Do I catch it with my hands?
- 10:40Speaker 4: You'll kind of get it in between. And then for
- 10:42Speaker 4: the quarterback, and Matt, you can speak to that way
- 10:44Speaker 4: better than I can. You have a guy running down
- 10:47Speaker 4: the field wide open. And you got like, do I
- 10:49Speaker 4: put air on it? Do I just put it on him?
- 10:51Speaker 2: Wide open targets are the worst in a game. especially
- 10:56Speaker 2: like on a fourth down like that, somebody wide out,
- 10:58Speaker 2: it is the hardest play to hit. Cause you're not
- 11:01Speaker 2: throwing it to beat a defender at that point. You're
- 11:04Speaker 2: throwing it not to look like a complete moron and
- 11:07Speaker 2: an idiot out there. Like I saw, I saw burrow
- 11:10Speaker 2: yesterday late in the game, hit a Gaseki, Gaseki, Gaseki, whatever, Gaseki.
- 11:16Speaker 2: I saw him. He was wide open. Almost missed him.
- 11:18Speaker 2: That guy's like eight foot tall and he almost missed
- 11:20Speaker 2: them high because he was so wide open. It's just
- 11:23Speaker 2: like for everybody. why do people suck? And so like
- 11:28Speaker 2: it's a, but it was, it was such a cool
- 11:30Speaker 2: play call. And again, it's one of those plays I'd
- 11:32Speaker 2: be interested. Like if they didn't come out in the
- 11:34Speaker 2: perfect defense for that, like what would you run the ball?
- 11:38Speaker 2: Cause you had a fake heavy play. But of course
- 11:40Speaker 2: you bet. Cause they, cause they fake the, that was
- 11:42Speaker 2: one where they fake the direct snap, right? Their short
- 11:44Speaker 2: yardage direct snap. I mean, it was beautiful. You knew
- 11:48Speaker 2: something from that was coming at some point. Right. And,
- 11:52Speaker 2: I found it interesting because I think Lane was talking yesterday,
- 11:55Speaker 2: I believe, or maybe it was after the game, said
- 12:00Speaker 2: that I almost kicked it there because of the down
- 12:05Speaker 2: and distance, where we are in the field. The defense
- 12:07Speaker 2: was playing really well. The defense was playing really well,
- 12:10Speaker 2: but then I was like, wait a minute, this is
- 12:11Speaker 2: kind of what they brought me here for, to go
- 12:13Speaker 2: for it. Yeah, that was after the game.
- 12:15Speaker 5: Yeah, that was after the game.
- 12:19Speaker 2: Did he do his thing yesterday? Didn't he do it
- 12:22Speaker 2: two weeks ago? Yeah, he did it last week.
- 12:26Speaker 3: He started it after the Ole Miss game. I don't
- 12:28Speaker 3: know if he did it yesterday.
- 12:29Speaker 2: Got it. And then you kind of talked about your
- 12:33Speaker 2: differences between other people saying, you know, don't run, like,
- 12:37Speaker 2: take a knee, run it up. I saw a lot
- 12:39Speaker 2: of differences between my opinion and a lot of other
- 12:41Speaker 2: opinions out there on the social media about it's a
- 12:46Speaker 2: certain score, your quarterback's hurt, take him out of the game.
- 12:49Speaker 2: I was like, keep that dude in there right now.
- 12:52Speaker 2: Let him cook. Let that dude feel what it's like
- 12:57Speaker 2: to play quarterback. Yeah. Play quarterback the right way in
- 13:00Speaker 2: the system. Let him get some more practice reps in
- 13:02Speaker 2: there right now because Sam Leavitt was cooking.
- 13:06Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 13:06Speaker 2: And he was cooking on one leg. And it was
- 13:09Speaker 2: as soon as I saw that fake hamstring. Oh, yeah.
- 13:12Speaker 2: With the tape and the artificial hamstring after halftime, which is.
- 13:17Speaker 2: I've worn that a few times. Oh, yeah. And pretty exciting. But, man,
- 13:21Speaker 2: my guy played great. By far his best game.
- 13:25Speaker 3: Oh, yeah.
- 13:25Speaker 2: Absolutely. I mean, it's not even close.
- 13:27Speaker 7: Like, you talk about can he make the improvements by
- 13:30Speaker 7: the next game.
- 13:30Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 13:31Speaker 5: He made them.
- 13:32Speaker 2: Even if he was forced to.
- 13:33Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 13:34Speaker 2: Even if he had no options. His body said, we're
- 13:35Speaker 2: doing this today.
- 13:37Speaker 3: He's throwing the ball off of one leg, and you're like,
- 13:40Speaker 3: all right, I kind of like this.
- 13:41Speaker 5: I feel like even before he got injured, though, he
- 13:43Speaker 5: had kind of locked it in.
- 13:44Speaker 6: Attacked the middle of the field, too.
- 13:46Speaker 5: Yeah, he didn't get injured until the second quarter.
- 13:49Speaker 2: Yeah, he was. His interception, I saw exactly.
- 13:52Speaker 4: He had Jackson Harris going down the hash, and it
- 13:55Speaker 4: actually might end up being a huge play when the
- 13:58Speaker 4: guy's arm hit. So even on the interception, he saw
- 14:01Speaker 4: where the ball was supposed to go, and you could
- 14:03Speaker 4: see him. Trying to deliver a pass. And, again, Jackson
- 14:06Speaker 4: Harris probably would have ended up with over 200 yards
- 14:09Speaker 4: receiving if his arm didn't get hit.
- 14:11Speaker 2: Mm-hmm. Yeah, old Sam's hamstring is like, Sammy, boy, we're
- 14:16Speaker 2: going to get better today, whether you like it or not.
- 14:18Speaker 2: We're going to slow down today.
- 14:20Speaker 3: We're going to slow down, buddy.
- 14:22Speaker 2: I didn't like Jesse Palmer stealing all my lines during
- 14:24Speaker 2: the game.
- 14:25Speaker 3: I didn't like Jesse Palmer.
- 14:27Speaker 2: I can't hear that.
- 14:28Speaker 4: He's easy on guys. Why didn't y'all listen to your co-host?
- 14:33Speaker 4: It's pretty easy to sync the radio and the TV up.
- 14:36Speaker 1: It is.
- 14:36Speaker 3: I've done it before.
- 14:37Speaker 2: It's on me. I don't have a local radio in
- 14:39Speaker 2: the house.
- 14:40Speaker 5: What I listen to is Big Faith.
- 14:42Speaker 2: Do you have an Alexa? No.
- 14:45Speaker 5: I don't believe that.
- 14:46Speaker 2: I don't believe that at all. Do you have a Siri?
- 14:49Speaker 2: What is it? I have my phone.
- 14:51Speaker 5: Yeah, you can just put it on your phone and
- 14:52Speaker 5: put it on the speaker.
- 14:54Speaker 2: I can't just do that. I've got to use my
- 14:56Speaker 2: phone to scroll.
- 14:57Speaker 4: This guy, rather than listen to Florida Gator quarterback Jesse Palmer.
- 15:02Speaker 6: Then his friend.
- 15:03Speaker 5: Former bachelor.
- 15:05Speaker 2: Right? I'm not listening to my iPhone speaker during the game.
- 15:09Speaker 6: I don't believe you don't have a smart speaker in
- 15:11Speaker 6: your home.
- 15:12Speaker 2: I just don't. I don't believe that. Why would I
- 15:14Speaker 2: have a smart speaker?
- 15:16Speaker 4: Everybody does. Like an Alexa or something where you're like, hey,
- 15:19Speaker 4: what's the weather today? And it tells you.
- 15:21Speaker 2: I don't do that.
- 15:22Speaker 5: That's Taylor.
- 15:23Speaker 2: I just look at the sky. I look at the air.
- 15:25Speaker 3: It's funny she says that because I don't have one.
- 15:27Speaker 2: Really?
- 15:28Speaker 5: Taylor is our Alexa. He's like, today's weather.
- 15:31Speaker 2: Maybe I'm in the minority. I thought everybody had one. Nope. Like, hey, Siri, play.
- 15:37Speaker 5: If it's like a normal speaker, you could just.
- 15:39Speaker 2: I don't really know if I know anyone that does that.
- 15:42Speaker 2: Besides you. Where they talk to their speaker? You ask
- 15:46Speaker 2: it like, hey, to play a song? Mm-mm. In the house?
- 15:50Speaker 9: Mm-mm.
- 15:53Speaker 2: I don't do that. Why? Robots?
- 15:56Speaker 7: Anyway, you're not going to avoid the parlay.
- 16:01Speaker 5: I know we haven't brought it up. You're not avoiding it.
- 16:03Speaker 6: We're bringing it up.
- 16:04Speaker 5: It's going to happen.
- 16:05Speaker 6: You're lucky we started the show talking about ever.
- 16:07Speaker 2: Living, ever loving. We did pretty good with three and one.
- 16:12Speaker 2: Ain't no we.
- 16:13Speaker 5: What happened with the one?
- 16:15Speaker 3: We'll say.
- 16:16Speaker 2: And we told you.
- 16:17Speaker 6: We said, you idiot.
- 16:19Speaker 2: This is stupid.
- 16:22Speaker 4: You're doing it with your heart, and you're not doing
- 16:25Speaker 4: it with your mind. That's what's bothering me.
- 16:27Speaker 5: Because you did this to try to dunk on Notre Dame.
- 16:30Speaker 2: Yes. You know you did.
- 16:32Speaker 4: And what was the pick two weeks ago that he missed?
- 16:36Speaker 2: What was the one you missed two weeks ago?
- 16:37Speaker 3: It was North Carolina. That was the one that should have.
- 16:40Speaker 5: No, North Carolina should have hit.
- 16:41Speaker 3: North Carolina choked that one away.
- 16:42Speaker 5: I got you on that one. This one makes me angry.
- 16:44Speaker 2: It makes me mad, too. Because he did it just
- 16:46Speaker 2: because he hates Notre Dame. How was I supposed to
- 16:48Speaker 2: know when I make these picks on Friday that, Purdue's
- 16:51Speaker 2: number three receiver is going to be out. Who is Purdue?
- 16:55Speaker 4: Purdue.
- 16:56Speaker 1: Boilermakers.
- 16:57Speaker 2: Golly, man. We would have been 8-0 if it wasn't
- 17:01Speaker 2: for you. And we knew.
- 17:03Speaker 5: I'm going to start baiting you every weekend.
- 17:05Speaker 2: We told you when you picked that that it was
- 17:07Speaker 2: a bad pick. Yeah. Everybody hated it.
- 17:09Speaker 9: Why?
- 17:09Speaker 2: I'm about to go on a run, and all y'all
- 17:11Speaker 2: are going to miss your 50-50 bets. I'm 10-0 in
- 17:13Speaker 2: Marler's picks the last 10. Mm-hmm.
- 17:19Speaker 5: Mine, I'm pretty sure, was over by the first quarter.
- 17:22Speaker 7: And then Texas was just not taking the opportunities that
- 17:26Speaker 7: Tennessee was giving them.
- 17:28Speaker 5: Which is crazy.
- 17:29Speaker 7: I want us to stop pretending that Texas is the
- 17:31Speaker 7: number one team in the country.
- 17:33Speaker 2: I don't even remember what I'm paying.
- 17:35Speaker 3: Who would you rank ahead of them, though?
- 17:37Speaker 2: Georgia? Georgia. Georgia hasn't played anybody.
- 17:40Speaker 3: Texas has got the best win in the country against
- 17:42Speaker 3: Ohio State. They got another win on the road against
- 17:45Speaker 3: a top 20 team.
- 17:46Speaker 2: I don't think they've looked great. That only matters for
- 17:48Speaker 2: some people. They look awful.
- 17:49Speaker 3: I mean, who do you rank ahead of them?
- 17:50Speaker 6: Like, Indiana being ranked, like, five or six.
- 17:53Speaker 2: What? They haven't played anybody.
- 17:55Speaker 4: Like, I don't know why we don't reset. Like, if
- 17:58Speaker 4: we actually reset it, like, Florida would be a top
- 18:00Speaker 4: three team.
- 18:01Speaker 9: Sure.
- 18:02Speaker 2: Like, if we hit a reset.
- 18:03Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 18:04Speaker 4: But we don't do that. We go off preseason narrative. So,
- 18:08Speaker 4: Indiana playing Howard and Northwestern and Western Kentucky.
- 18:12Speaker 1: And then almost.
- 18:13Speaker 6: Oh, and almost losing to Northwestern.
- 18:15Speaker 2: Yes.
- 18:18Speaker 5: And Tennessee looked awful, too.
- 18:21Speaker 7: That was my first time watching them play this season,
- 18:24Speaker 7: and I was like, they play soft.
- 18:26Speaker 5: Like, they're all, like, soft.
- 18:29Speaker 2: Yeah, that wasn't a great. Except Texas still couldn't run
- 18:31Speaker 2: the ball against them. The game wasn't very pretty.
- 18:33Speaker 5: But their defense was running all over their offense.
- 18:37Speaker 2: I'll give them both credit. I'll give them both a
- 18:39Speaker 2: pass because it was 11. It was 11. Eastern time, right? Yeah, Knoxville.
- 18:44Speaker 3: Yeah, it was the 11 a.m.
- 18:45Speaker 1: Window.
- 18:46Speaker 2: Nashville's central, Knoxville's eastern.
- 18:48Speaker 5: Oh, interesting.
- 18:49Speaker 2: Did that blow your mind? No, it didn't blow my mind. Okay.
- 18:56Speaker 2: It's right on the line. Okay.
- 18:58Speaker 1: Okay.
- 18:59Speaker 4: All right, when we come back, we'll give you kind
- 19:02Speaker 4: of the full stats of LSU and Texas A & M.
- 19:05Speaker 4: There's some really, really good stuff in there, and I'm
- 19:07Speaker 4: not just talking about individual stats, but Team stats, Marcel
- 19:11Speaker 4: Reed stats, and we'll do it right here when we
- 19:13Speaker 4: jump back on OTB.
- 19:16Speaker 1: Off the bench.
- 19:17Speaker 5: Trash Rangers.
- 19:18Speaker 2: Hey, go to Trash Rangers. TrashRangers.com.

- 20:31Speaker 1: Off the bench with Hester and Flynn. Presented by Bayou Automotive.
- 20:39Speaker 8: I must admit, I can't explain any of these thoughts
- 20:44Speaker 8: racing through my brain. It's true.
- 20:48Speaker 2: Baby, I'm howling for you.
- 20:56Speaker 4: All right.
- 20:57Speaker 5: There's something wrong with this plot.
- 21:00Speaker 8: The actors here have not got a clue.
- 21:06Speaker 5: Baby, I'm howling for you.
- 21:44Speaker 2: All right, welcome back in.
- 21:45Speaker 4: OTB here live from the Razor Cane Studio. Of course,
- 21:49Speaker 4: every single Monday brought to you by our friends over
- 21:51Speaker 4: at Bayou Automotive, Ford, Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, and Ram.
- 21:54Speaker 6: BayouAutomotive.com.
- 21:57Speaker 4: All right, let's take a look at the team stats
- 22:00Speaker 4: for LSU and Texas A & M. First down, LSU
- 22:05Speaker 4: wins 20-11. Neither team was great on third down. 4-12
- 22:09Speaker 4: for LSU, 4-15 for LSU. from Texas A & M.
- 22:13Speaker 4: LSU did convert a fourth down. Should have been two
- 22:16Speaker 4: for two, but they were one for two on fourth downs.
- 22:19Speaker 4: Total yards, 506 for LSU to 197 for Texas A
- 22:22Speaker 4: & M. Through the air, 312 for LSU, 106 for
- 22:25Speaker 4: A & M. Rushing the ball, 194 for LSU to
- 22:27Speaker 4: only 91 for Texas A & M. Texas A &
- 22:28Speaker 4: M had 2.8 yards per carry. LSU had over five
- 22:41Speaker 4: yards per carry. Both teams about the same as far
- 22:44Speaker 4: as penalties. Seven for 44 for A & M, five
- 22:46Speaker 4: for 35 for LSU. Time of possession pretty much even
- 22:50Speaker 4: as well. 30-19 for LSU, 29-41 for Texas A & M.
- 22:56Speaker 4: The story of the game was going to be what?
- 22:59Speaker 4: Marcel Reed. We talked about him two years in a row.
- 23:02Speaker 4: He comes in after halftime and puts on a show.
- 23:05Speaker 4: There was no show to be had in Tiger Stadium
- 23:08Speaker 4: on Saturday. Through the air, he was 10 of 26,
- 23:11Speaker 4: 106 yards, 4.1 yards per attempt, no touchdowns, one interception.
- 23:16Speaker 4: That is a QBR of 31. Running the football, he
- 23:20Speaker 4: had 10 carries for negative 13 yards, negative 1.3 yards
- 23:25Speaker 4: per carry, and they take the sack yards away in college,
- 23:28Speaker 4: but even if you don't do that, even if you don't,
- 23:32Speaker 4: he only had two successful runs, and I think the.
- 23:35Speaker 6: Long was 12. You bottled him up.
- 23:39Speaker 4: To say the least, and it was such a master
- 23:41Speaker 4: class by Blake Baker, this defensive staff. There's so many looks.
- 23:46Speaker 4: I can't wait to go over the film review on
- 23:48Speaker 4: Eye in the Sky. There's so many great looks. And also,
- 23:53Speaker 4: there was a lot of times that the staff trusted
- 23:56Speaker 4: their guys in space to be a good enough athlete
- 23:59Speaker 4: to be able to get Marcel on the ground. There
- 24:02Speaker 4: was one that Deuce Gerald just came out of nowhere.
- 24:05Speaker 4: I mean, absolute nowhere. And in space, he gets Marcel
- 24:08Speaker 4: Reed on the ground. There was like two or three
- 24:10Speaker 4: where a D lineman had Marcel Reed in space and
- 24:13Speaker 4: the D lineman won. So great individual effort as well.
- 24:18Speaker 4: You did that, you were going to win the game.
- 24:21Speaker 2: And you did.
- 24:21Speaker 4: You bottled him up to say the least. And then,
- 24:24Speaker 4: as we talked about it, Sam Levitt has his best game.
- 24:26Speaker 4: Goes for 312, two touchdowns, 13.6 yards per attempt. Also
- 24:30Speaker 4: adds 22 yards on the ground. I loved the way
- 24:35Speaker 4: they ran the football. It was 38 times. They committed
- 24:38Speaker 4: to the run, 194 yards, three touchdowns on the ground.
- 24:44Speaker 4: And it was Dylan Jones. Harlan Berry got in there
- 24:47Speaker 4: at the end. Landon Clark had some time. Sam Levitt.
- 24:51Speaker 4: You had a couple of receivers actually ran the football
- 24:54Speaker 4: as well. It's a great game plan, well-executed game plan,
- 24:58Speaker 4: and that's how the Tigers went 35-6.
- 25:00Speaker 2: Yeah, I think just as we go forward into the season,
- 25:04Speaker 2: and again, four games into the season, into a long season,
- 25:09Speaker 2: Sam's got to get healthy, right? Yep. Now, he also
- 25:14Speaker 2: has to, once he does get healthy, completely healthy, he
- 25:18Speaker 2: has to remember this game. I texted y'all after, I
- 25:22Speaker 2: think it was like middle of the first quarter. I
- 25:24Speaker 2: was like, don't let Sam learn how to count to six,
- 25:26Speaker 2: because if he can count to six, this team can
- 25:29Speaker 2: go a long way. And I'm talking about the RPO game.
- 25:32Speaker 2: They ran the ball in first down. They called RPOs
- 25:34Speaker 2: where he did a much, much, much better job and
- 25:40Speaker 2: deciding when to hand the ball and when to throw
- 25:42Speaker 2: the ball on RPOs. We talked about it on our
- 25:45Speaker 2: film review last week. RPO is run pass option, not
- 25:48Speaker 2: pass run option. It is run first until they take
- 25:52Speaker 2: it away. And then you throw it as an answer.
- 25:55Speaker 2: You throw it as an answer to them, taking away
- 25:57Speaker 2: the run. You don't, go in there with the mindset,
- 26:00Speaker 2: I'm going to throw it if I like the throw.
- 26:03Speaker 2: It is, you throw it if you don't like the
- 26:05Speaker 2: look to the run. And Sam learned how to count
- 26:07Speaker 2: to six this time. And if he can do that,
- 26:12Speaker 2: plus all the things that came with his passing game
- 26:16Speaker 2: and getting through the progressions and that hamstring, absolutely forcing
- 26:21Speaker 2: him to become a better passer, to become a better–
- 26:26Speaker 2: quarterback in a passing offense, go through his progressions better,
- 26:28Speaker 2: slow down, not giving him, mentally not giving him that,
- 26:32Speaker 2: taking away one part of his game, which improved another
- 26:35Speaker 2: part of his game. And he threw the ball accurately,
- 26:37Speaker 2: threw the ball in time, made really good reads. I
- 26:39Speaker 2: was very impressed with Sam Levitt's game. And his toughness,
- 26:43Speaker 2: of course. I mean, that's a hard thing to do.
- 26:44Speaker 2: Hamstrings suck. So it's one of those things that as
- 26:50Speaker 2: he gets healthy and that part of his game comes back,
- 26:53Speaker 2: I'm hoping that He uses it as an answer to
- 26:57Speaker 2: the passing game not being there. So his wanting to
- 27:00Speaker 2: run as a passer and scramble is kind of like
- 27:03Speaker 2: the opposite of his RPO. He's thinking all of it
- 27:05Speaker 2: all backwards.
- 27:07Speaker 4: The play he actually really hurt his hamstring was actually
- 27:10Speaker 4: a pretty good play by him.
- 27:11Speaker 2: He was in the pocket. It broke down. He didn't panic.
- 27:16Speaker 4: He stepped fully up, like aggressive step up.
- 27:20Speaker 2: Then he stepped out.
- 27:21Speaker 4: To try to see if anybody was open, and then
- 27:23Speaker 4: he ran. I'm like, even that's an improvement because you're
- 27:26Speaker 4: stepping up in the pocket, and then you're going sideways
- 27:29Speaker 4: just in case somebody pops open, and then you decide
- 27:32Speaker 4: to run it.
- 27:33Speaker 2: That's a good play. This game, this Texas A &
- 27:36Speaker 2: M game, is going to do so much for Sam
- 27:39Speaker 2: Levitt's future, his potential, the way that people view him
- 27:44Speaker 2: at the NFL, the way it's going to affect in
- 27:48Speaker 2: a positive way If he learns from this and understands
- 27:51Speaker 2: why and can emulate that or simulate that throughout the
- 27:55Speaker 2: season as he goes forward and gets healthier, it's going
- 27:58Speaker 2: to do so much for this 2026 team as well. Now,
- 28:01Speaker 2: I know that there's a lot, and we're going to
- 28:03Speaker 2: get to injuries, and there's a lot of things that
- 28:06Speaker 2: is also kind of going a wrong direction for this
- 28:09Speaker 2: team from a personnel standpoint, which is brutal. Yeah, I
- 28:13Speaker 2: get that. I know your head coach has talked about
- 28:15Speaker 2: the depth and the issues there. But from the quarterback
- 28:18Speaker 2: standpoint still, if you have a quarterback that can be
- 28:20Speaker 2: dangerous and work the system, work this Lane Kiffin system,
- 28:25Speaker 2: you're going to be a threat the whole season. All right.
- 28:28Speaker 4: Well, I didn't want to be a Debbie Downer to
- 28:31Speaker 4: start the show, certainly with the way that you play,
- 28:33Speaker 4: but Matt did just say it. There are some injuries
- 28:35Speaker 4: that we have to talk about when we come back.
- 28:39Speaker 4: What does it mean? How long are those players going
- 28:41Speaker 4: to potentially be out? We'll break that down when we
- 28:44Speaker 4: come back here on OTB.
- 28:46Speaker 1: Off the bench.
- 28:47Speaker 4: All right, go to GCOPnet.com.

- 30:11Speaker 4: Off the bench with Hester and Flynn, presented by Bayou Automotive.
- 30:23Speaker 4: All right, welcome back in, OTB. I don't want y'all
- 30:43Speaker 4: to treat me any differently after the K-Z commercial drop
- 30:47Speaker 4: on the football weekend.
- 30:49Speaker 5: I thought you were going to say it because Theo
- 30:50Speaker 5: put you on his story.
- 30:51Speaker 4: Well, that either, but really about the K-Z commercial. Man,
- 31:00Speaker 4: that's a normal guy.
- 31:01Speaker 2: It was the first commercial after the game. It dropped?
- 31:04Speaker 2: No way.
- 31:05Speaker 5: You got primetime?
- 31:06Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 31:06Speaker 2: Dang.
- 31:08Speaker 3: I mean, that's a primetime Super Bowl spot.
- 31:11Speaker 2: I mean, basically. It is. Shout out to KDC.
- 31:14Speaker 6: KDCblinds.com. KDC Interior is now outdoor living. You saw the commercial.
- 31:18Speaker 2: You saw it. One touch. Screen goes down. One touch.
- 31:24Speaker 2: How long were you in the makeup chair? No makeup.
- 31:27Speaker 2: I don't need that. No needed. No. I don't need
- 31:30Speaker 2: it with skin like that. I'm tan enough. I don't
- 31:31Speaker 2: need it. Same.
- 31:35Speaker 5: I feel like facial hair is men's makeup.
- 31:37Speaker 2: A little bit.
- 31:38Speaker 1: Yeah. Yeah.
- 31:41Speaker 2: Unless somebody shaves their mustache. Looks like a doofus.
- 31:43Speaker 5: Something's different about you.
- 31:45Speaker 2: Guy gets a mustache for six, seven months. Now all
- 31:51Speaker 2: of a sudden that's... It's you. I told you, my
- 31:56Speaker 2: little one is like, what's wrong with your face? This
- 31:58Speaker 2: was yesterday. It's a loaded question. It is a loaded question.
- 32:01Speaker 2: And I said, you tell me what's wrong with my face.
- 32:03Speaker 2: She said, something's different. And I was like, what's different?
- 32:07Speaker 2: She said, I don't know, something about your lips. And
- 32:09Speaker 2: I was like, well, what specifically about my lips is different?
- 32:12Speaker 2: I want you to put your finger on it. And
- 32:16Speaker 2: I was like, what about my lips is different? And
- 32:17Speaker 2: she said, I don't know. And then she giggled and
- 32:19Speaker 2: just ran off. I don't know.
- 32:21Speaker 3: But that made you feel good the rest of the day.
- 32:23Speaker 7: Asking your kid to tell you what's wrong with your
- 32:25Speaker 7: face probably opens it up to you.
- 32:28Speaker 2: I'm just going to let you know.
- 32:29Speaker 6: If you have children my age, don't ask them that.
- 32:32Speaker 2: They'll roast you. They'll get roasted.
- 32:35Speaker 3: It's like, Dad, there's nothing you can do about it.
- 32:37Speaker 3: I just want you to be self-conscious.
- 32:38Speaker 2: I just want you to be self-conscious. There's something different.
- 32:42Speaker 2: All right.
- 32:43Speaker 6: Well, let's rip the Band-Aid off here on this one.
- 32:46Speaker 1: The parlay?
- 32:47Speaker 6: Well, that, no. We'll get to that. Whit Weeks.
- 32:51Speaker 2: Band-Aid thing, a metaphor. He's got a fracture.
- 32:56Speaker 4: Unfortunately, after the game, you kind of go down there,
- 33:01Speaker 4: you check on your guy, and and you kind of
- 33:04Speaker 4: hear him talking about it and I, and I heard
- 33:06Speaker 4: what it was and I'm sitting there like punching the air.
- 33:09Speaker 2: I'm so mad at it.
- 33:11Speaker 4: I mean, last year, you know, has something similar and
- 33:17Speaker 4: fights through it and kind of in and out of
- 33:19Speaker 4: the lineup. Cause he just wants to be out there.
- 33:21Speaker 4: And I forget what South Carolina game. You can just tell,
- 33:26Speaker 4: you know, how much pain he's in. Then, you know,
- 33:28Speaker 4: he gets a chance to get in there with his brothers.
- 33:29Speaker 4: That was fun. Tries to play in the Oklahoma game
- 33:31Speaker 4: and plays a handful of plays and, just never right.
- 33:34Speaker 6: And, you know, when you have an injury.
- 33:36Speaker 4: Like that, we talked about this a couple of weeks ago.
- 33:39Speaker 4: Like when you have an injury like that, you repair
- 33:40Speaker 4: that injury. Sometimes like the things around it, obviously you
- 33:43Speaker 4: get a little compromised because there's so much attention on
- 33:46Speaker 4: that one spot.
- 33:47Speaker 6: And so just very, very unfortunate news.
- 33:50Speaker 4: Everybody knows what wit means to the LSU defense with
- 33:54Speaker 4: his play, obviously. But with just his leadership and being
- 34:00Speaker 4: around the attitude that he brings to the field, You
- 34:04Speaker 4: can't replicate that. That happens organically. He's one of the
- 34:09Speaker 4: better leaders I've ever seen on a college football field.
- 34:11Speaker 4: And so LSU is going to have to find a
- 34:15Speaker 4: way without Whit Weeks.
- 34:16Speaker 6: Now, how long?
- 34:18Speaker 4: Because certain fractures, depending on the size of the fracture,
- 34:20Speaker 4: where it's at, and how quickly you can go in.
- 34:24Speaker 4: You're going to have surgery, I would assume. I'm sure
- 34:27Speaker 4: you're going to have to plate it again. It's just
- 34:29Speaker 4: my assumption.
- 34:31Speaker 6: How long are you out? Are you out the full year?
- 34:32Speaker 6: Could you come back if it's, like, postseason time?
- 34:36Speaker 2: Maybe.
- 34:37Speaker 6: You know, could you come back at the very end
- 34:39Speaker 6: of the season?
- 34:40Speaker 2: It's a maybe. But you're playing the bulk of this
- 34:43Speaker 2: year without wet weeks, regardless. Yeah, this was heartbreaking news for,
- 34:48Speaker 2: I would assume, most fans out there, certainly me watching this.
- 34:54Speaker 2: This has been, I mean, his whole career here at LSU,
- 34:58Speaker 2: it's been one of these things where his body just can't,
- 35:02Speaker 2: Match his mindset.
- 35:03Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 35:04Speaker 2: And his mindset is awesome. It is unarguably incredible.
- 35:08Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 35:08Speaker 2: Like you said, he's one of the best leaders you've
- 35:10Speaker 2: ever seen on a college football field. Absolutely. And it's
- 35:12Speaker 2: all organic. I mean, he was the guy that in
- 35:15Speaker 2: the transfer portal, like he was, he was on the
- 35:17Speaker 2: job every single day, every day, right? Every single day.
- 35:20Speaker 2: He has been the heart of like this LSU program
- 35:25Speaker 2: for a long time. And he's been a constant, been
- 35:27Speaker 2: a consistent. And for, his body not to just be
- 35:31Speaker 2: able to match that has been tough to watch. And
- 35:37Speaker 2: I know it's way harder on him. And I don't
- 35:40Speaker 2: know what this means for, you know, kind of his
- 35:42Speaker 2: future or whatever. And I might be in the minority
- 35:46Speaker 2: on this, but, like, he's given so much to LSU
- 35:50Speaker 2: and given so much to the program. He's sitting here
- 35:54Speaker 2: today not knowing a lot of information. I kind of
- 35:55Speaker 2: hope that's the last time he's put on the uniform
- 35:57Speaker 2: because I think that we, like, I hope that he
- 36:00Speaker 2: gets his body right and doesn't put his body in
- 36:03Speaker 2: any more, like, in harm's way to have an opportunity
- 36:06Speaker 2: at that next level, to have the best opportunity to
- 36:09Speaker 2: go to that next level.
- 36:10Speaker 4: I mean, you do have five for five.
- 36:15Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 36:19Speaker 2: Yeah, that's true.
- 36:20Speaker 4: Now, Witt's an NFL player. I mean, yeah, for sure.
- 36:23Speaker 4: You know what I'm saying? So, like, it could be
- 36:25Speaker 4: him saying, look, I got to start that clock. I
- 36:29Speaker 4: got to go do that. But that's like secondary for
- 36:32Speaker 4: me and for you too because we've gotten to know Witt.
- 36:36Speaker 4: I mean, again, that was the only recruiting visit LSU's
- 36:40Speaker 4: ever called me in on was Witt Weeks.
- 36:42Speaker 6: So I've known him since he was literally in high school.
- 36:45Speaker 4: I just feel awful for him because, I mean, he
- 36:47Speaker 4: happened a big year, was set up for a big year, and.
- 36:50Speaker 6: Just brutal, man. And the rehab that that young man
- 36:54Speaker 6: has done, Like, look, I'm old.
- 36:57Speaker 4: So every time I'll go in there for a little something,
- 36:58Speaker 4: a little dry kneeling or something, he was on the
- 37:01Speaker 4: table doing something.
- 37:02Speaker 2: Right. Trying to get ready for this season. I mean,
- 37:05Speaker 2: he's been all ball. He's been all LSU. And, yeah,
- 37:09Speaker 2: it sucks. It sucks really bad. And I know that
- 37:13Speaker 2: he's going to do everything that he can to get
- 37:16Speaker 2: back as fast as he can. But from what he's
- 37:21Speaker 2: kind of meant, I don't know. I hope he doesn't.
- 37:24Speaker 2: put himself in a compromise situation. And I know there's
- 37:27Speaker 2: adults in the room over there and I get it.
- 37:28Speaker 2: They're going to, they're going to protect himself from himself.
- 37:30Speaker 2: But I just know that young man is going to,
- 37:33Speaker 2: he's going to have the mindset that he wants to
- 37:35Speaker 2: play two weeks. So like, you know, you gotta, we'll see,
- 37:38Speaker 2: we'll see what happens of course. But, um, I mean,
- 37:42Speaker 2: Lane said it, I mean, it's hard. This team wasn't
- 37:45Speaker 2: constructed and built to sustain too many season ending injuries.
- 37:50Speaker 4: And it's starting to kind of add up now. And it's, um,
- 37:54Speaker 4: Now this one, you've got to go in, you've got
- 37:58Speaker 4: to see. You're going to have surgery, and so this
- 38:01Speaker 4: could be a deal. I know some people put a four-week.
- 38:04Speaker 4: This is longer than four weeks. I would say six
- 38:07Speaker 4: to eight more realistically would be it, and six, maybe
- 38:12Speaker 4: that's the number. But again, you do have to be
- 38:17Speaker 4: smart for him and himself and just for everything involved.
- 38:21Speaker 4: But like four weeks after going in, Surgery, that feels
- 38:26Speaker 4: too soon.
- 38:27Speaker 6: So I know four to six was tabbed on there.
- 38:29Speaker 6: I would say more six to eight.
- 38:32Speaker 2: Yeah, four to six. I mean, it's like it's already
- 38:37Speaker 2: had surgery, right? Already had a plate, something like that.
- 38:42Speaker 2: I don't know the specifics of his past, like injuries. Well,
- 38:45Speaker 2: his other one, yeah, he has a plate, yes. Yeah. Right. Mm-hmm. So,
- 38:52Speaker 2: I mean. I'd go on the longer side.
- 38:54Speaker 5: Same leg?
- 38:54Speaker 2: I believe so, yeah.
- 38:56Speaker 6: I believe, yes, right leg.
- 38:59Speaker 2: And, like, more plates doesn't make you like RoboCop.
- 39:01Speaker 4: Because when I went down there. We asked. When I
- 39:04Speaker 4: went down there afterwards, like, that was kind of the
- 39:06Speaker 4: conversation that they were having.
- 39:09Speaker 2: Well, we definitely asked. So, more plates make you stronger.
- 39:12Speaker 2: Not necessarily.
- 39:13Speaker 3: We were talking about a postgame, and you compared him
- 39:15Speaker 3: to Sean Lee. I think that is the perfect.
- 39:19Speaker 6: Sean's a hell of a player.
- 39:22Speaker 4: I had to play against him, practice against him when
- 39:25Speaker 4: we did the joint against the Cowboys.
- 39:28Speaker 2: His body just could not match the mind. He was
- 39:32Speaker 2: going to run through your face.
- 39:35Speaker 3: Similar players consist when they're on the field, leaders of
- 39:38Speaker 3: the defense, and just body couldn't keep up.
- 39:42Speaker 4: The other part of this, though, that is important to
- 39:45Speaker 4: note out, Charles Ross covering a punt.
- 39:49Speaker 6: Tore his ACL. That's another linebacker.
- 39:53Speaker 4: So now, you're down to, you got Singleton, you got Keyes,
- 39:59Speaker 4: and you got Zach Weeks next to TJ Daughtery. So
- 40:03Speaker 4: you're getting real thin at that position when you lose
- 40:06Speaker 4: one for the year. And I knew it as soon
- 40:08Speaker 4: as he did it. It was non-contact.
- 40:09Speaker 2: He grabbed his knee.
- 40:10Speaker 6: I said, well, that's an ACL.
- 40:12Speaker 2: He's out.
- 40:13Speaker 6: And if Witt's out, again, I don't think four to six.
- 40:16Speaker 6: I'm going to say six to eight.
- 40:19Speaker 4: You're, Your depth is being tested because that's a position
- 40:22Speaker 4: also that's going to be a lot of core four
- 40:24Speaker 4: war daddies out there on teams. And so now you've
- 40:27Speaker 4: got to kind of be careful with that, too. You
- 40:28Speaker 4: can't have them all out there because you're going to
- 40:30Speaker 4: need them on defense.
- 40:35Speaker 2: Yeah, that's– I think you're– yeah, you're kind of going
- 40:39Speaker 2: from the top linebacker crew in the country, in my opinion.
- 40:47Speaker 2: Now it's like, man, who– who's going to be there,
- 40:50Speaker 2: who's going to be, like, how consistent we can't sustain
- 40:53Speaker 2: many more blows to this linebacker. What point do you
- 40:56Speaker 2: have to start going six DBs? Yeah. Two stars?
- 41:03Speaker 1: No.
- 41:03Speaker 2: That would just be a dime. It would be a dime.
- 41:06Speaker 2: It would just be a dime.
- 41:09Speaker 6: One more part of the whole deal, and we can
- 41:10Speaker 6: talk about it.
- 41:11Speaker 2: What? Did you just drop it?
- 41:15Speaker 4: That is an option, like, to add some defensive backs,
- 41:18Speaker 4: but you're– Gosh, you're getting kind of thin there, too.
- 41:21Speaker 4: Let's talk about what the defense looks like with this
- 41:25Speaker 4: injury news and maybe what base is going to kind
- 41:28Speaker 4: of look like if they do go with a sub package,
- 41:30Speaker 4: and we'll do that to end our number one here
- 41:33Speaker 4: on OTB.
- 41:34Speaker 1: Off the bench.
- 41:35Speaker 4: All right, some banks, they know you by your account number.
- 41:40Speaker 4: I would say most banks know you only by your
- 41:42Speaker 4: account number. First American Bank and Trust takes the time
- 41:45Speaker 4: to know you. With a banking tradition dating back to 1910,
- 41:49Speaker 4: they offer personal and business checking, savings, mobile banking, mortgages,

- 42:29Speaker 2: coast or decision makers in New York City. Maybe you
- 42:32Speaker 2: want someone right here in Louisiana helping you and your
- 42:35Speaker 2: business right over at First American Bank and Trust, fabt.com.
- 42:47Speaker 1: Off the Bench with Hester and Flynn, presented by Bayou Automotive.
- 42:54Speaker 9: Have you got color in your cheeks? Do you ever
- 43:12Speaker 9: get that fear that you.
- 43:13Speaker 8: Can't shift the tide that sticks around like summits in
- 43:17Speaker 8: your teeth?
- 43:19Speaker 1: Are there some aces up your sleeve?
- 43:23Speaker 9: Have you no idea that you're in deep?
- 43:26Speaker 1: I dreamt about you.
- 43:27Speaker 8: Nearly every night this week. How many secrets can you keep?
- 43:34Speaker 8: Cause there's this tune I found that makes me think
- 43:37Speaker 8: of you somehow.
- 43:40Speaker 2: All right, welcome back in.
- 43:42Speaker 4: OTV here live from the Raising Cane Studio. All right,
- 43:46Speaker 4: so we're talking a little injuries with LSU. Charles Ross
- 43:51Speaker 4: and Whit Weeks, those are both your well linebackers. They're
- 43:55Speaker 4: going to be out. Ross for the year, Weeks for
- 43:57Speaker 4: some time. So you have T.J. Dotterer right there at mic.
- 44:02Speaker 4: Devon Keyes is somebody that certainly has a ton of experience.
- 44:06Speaker 4: He's going to be the starter. There's no doubt in
- 44:07Speaker 4: my mind about that. You've got Ty Singleton, who made
- 44:10Speaker 4: a play, made a really good play, instinctive play in
- 44:13Speaker 4: this game. Then you have Zach Weeks as well.
- 44:18Speaker 6: You're thin. You're going to have to, the old.
- 44:21Speaker 4: Rubik's Cube that we talked about, Tay-Tay, you're going to
- 44:23Speaker 4: have to keep turning that thing, too, to see.
- 44:25Speaker 2: You might have to move some people.
- 44:27Speaker 4: Some people might have to play different positions just to
- 44:30Speaker 4: try to create some depth.
- 44:31Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean, you move Jaden Breaker from inside backer
- 44:34Speaker 3: to edge rusher at the beginning of fall camp because
- 44:36Speaker 3: of injuries. He hadn't repped a ton at edge rusher anyways.
- 44:39Speaker 3: You can always move him back. Jake, during the break,
- 44:41Speaker 3: you brought up C.J. Jim Coyley. I mean, he's a
- 44:43Speaker 3: big body moving him from.
- 44:45Speaker 2: He played on the edge against Ole Miss.
- 44:46Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean, moving him to inside because, I mean,
- 44:48Speaker 3: he's played safety. He's played on the edge. He could
- 44:51Speaker 3: probably fit right in there as well. You're going to
- 44:52Speaker 3: have to piece it together, though.
- 44:55Speaker 2: The old duct tape and super glue. You're going to
- 44:57Speaker 2: need some really good play from your defensive line. Yeah. Because,
- 45:00Speaker 2: I mean, what are teams going to do if you
- 45:02Speaker 2: start getting thin and having to play some safeties in
- 45:03Speaker 2: the linebacks? They're going to try to big boy you.
- 45:05Speaker 2: They're going to try to big dog you. So you've
- 45:07Speaker 2: got to get some really good play, which you are getting,
- 45:09Speaker 2: which is a positive thing. Deuce Gerald, a true freshman.
- 45:14Speaker 2: Kid's a beast. He is really good.
- 45:16Speaker 4: He plays with some fire, too. I mean, he's super athletic, too.
- 45:21Speaker 4: That play he made against Marcel Reed, you will see
- 45:23Speaker 4: that on Eye in the Sky. I can promise you.
- 45:27Speaker 4: Along with 34 probably other plays. Who got worse over
- 45:33Speaker 4: from last year to this year? Marcel Reed or John Mateer? Well,
- 45:37Speaker 4: Reed was just really good against you.
- 45:40Speaker 2: That's a good point.
- 45:41Speaker 3: Yeah, Reed wasn't good last year.
- 45:44Speaker 2: All right.
- 45:45Speaker 4: We've got weekend winners coming up in a little bit,
- 45:47Speaker 4: but we've also got to talk about the Saints losing
- 45:49Speaker 4: to the Raiders.
- 45:51Speaker 1: Off the bench.
- 45:52Speaker 4: All right, go to pallagroup.com, P-A-L-L-A group.com, and when you

- 46:02Speaker 4: to pull up, and then right there you'll see it
