- 0:00When we travel on a major highway, we do not doubt or
- 0:04question that the destination at the end of that road is where we
- 0:08will eventually end up. We may need to face various
- 0:13difficulties along the way. There may be stops for food or
- 0:17fuel. There may be automobile
- 0:19breakdowns and needed repairs. There may be storms and
- 0:24temporary halts or diversions, but if we remain focused on the
- 0:29objective and continue to stay on the highway, we will one day
- 0:34reach the end. If we get turned around,
- 0:38confused or convinced to take a different Rd. in a different
- 0:42direction, or to simply settle down somewhere and give up the
- 0:46attempt to reach the destination, then we will not
- 0:50make it there. We need patience, persistence,
- 0:55and a constant faith that regardless of any opposition,
- 0:59any obstacles, any setbacks, if we remain on the highway, we
- 1:04will reach our goal. Our family, our friends, our
- 1:09society may try to change our plans, denigrate the
- 1:13destination, claim. There are better places to go
- 1:17to. If we respond to these voices,
- 1:21we will wind up somewhere other than where we first intended.
- 1:26For the spiritual seeker, following the path of spiritual
- 1:30growth is similar to this highway.
- 1:33To start on this path is due to an act of faith.
- 1:37In many cases, this faith arises as a result of an experience of
- 1:42the Divine and an intuition of the divine truth of existence
- 1:47and the purpose of the Divine manifestation.
- 1:52We tend to believe that we are the originators of our actions
- 1:55and that we are in control of what we decide, where we go, and
- 1:59what we wind up doing with our lives, as if the entire
- 2:03universal creation is just there as a backdrop for our decisions
- 2:08and actions. In reality we are constantly
- 2:12subject to influences, vibrations, energies that
- 2:17originate outside ourselves and which shape who we are, what we
- 2:22value and how we act. Our role is to choose to open
- 2:27ourselves up to 1 influence or another, one highway or another
- 2:32so to speak, depending on how we choose.
- 2:36The universal energies guide and propel us along the way.
- 2:40If we choose to open ourselves up to the ego personalities,
- 2:44fulfilment, to the forces of desire, craving, lust, anger,
- 2:50hatred, then of course we wind up mired in those things and
- 2:56cannot reach the goal as long as we remain fixated on the desire
- 3:00fulfillment of the individual life experience.
- 3:05If we remain firm in our choice of a spiritual purpose, those
- 3:10energies bring us to the spiritual realization we have
- 3:14chosen. Trior Bindo notes quote.
- 3:19If you desire only the Divine, there is an absolute certitude
- 3:24that you will reach the Divine. But all these questionings and
- 3:28repinings at each movement only delay and keep an impending
- 3:32curtain before the heart and the eyes, For at every step when one
- 3:38makes an advance, the opposite forces will throw these doubts
- 3:43like a rope between the legs and stop 1 short with a stumble.
- 3:47It is their metier to do that, one must say.
- 3:52Since I want only the Divine, my success is sure.
- 3:57I have only to walk forward in all confidence, and his own hand
- 4:01will be there secretly leading me to him by his own way and his
- 4:05own time. That is what you must keep as
- 4:09your constant mantra. Anything else one may doubt, but
- 4:14that he who desires only the Divine shall reach the Divine is
- 4:18a certitude, and more certain than two and two make four.
- 4:24That is the faith every Sodek must have at the bottom of his
- 4:27heart, supporting him through every stumble and blow and
- 4:32ordeal. End Quote.
