- 0:01In the bhagavad-gita Shri Krishna teaches Arjuna that he
- 0:06has the right to action. But not to attachment to the
- 0:10fruits of the action. That is the results.
- 0:14In our world. Today, we are fixated on the
- 0:17destination, not the journey, and we measure everything by the
- 0:21immediate results, we obtained. This process is bound to develop
- 0:27frustration, dissatisfaction and impatience as the type of
- 0:33change. We seek in yoga, is not
- 0:36something that can be measured in tangible ways.
- 0:40From day to day. The other issue not frequently
- 0:45appreciated is that in some cases changes take place below
- 0:50the level of perception and do not become visible until a,
- 0:55certain quantity of change has taken place at which point, it
- 0:59may appear to be a sudden change.
- 1:02When in fact, it has been developing in the background for
- 1:06quite some time. This is similar to the threshold
- 1:10of light photons required to fire.
- 1:12The eyes to see something until sufficient photons are active.
- 1:18Everything is dark. A disciple asks, when we make an
- 1:24effort to do better, but don't see any progress, we feel
- 1:27discouraged, what is the best thing to do?
- 1:32The mother responds quote, not to be discouraged.
- 1:38Despondency leads nowhere to begin with the first thing to
- 1:42tell yourself is that you are almost entirely incapable of
- 1:46knowing. Whether you are making progress
- 1:48or not for very often what seems to us to be a state of
- 1:53stagnation, is a long sometimes long but in any case, not
- 1:58endless preparation for a Leap Forward.
- 2:02We sometimes seem to be marking time for weeks or months, and
- 2:06then suddenly something that was being prepared makes its
- 2:11appearance. And we see that there is quite a
- 2:14considerable change and on several points at a time.
- 2:19As with everything in yoga, the effort for Progress must be made
- 2:23for the love of the effort for Progress.
- 2:26The joy of effort, the aspiration for Progress must be
- 2:31enough in themselves. Quite independent of the result.
- 2:37Everything one does in yoga must be done for the joy of doing it
- 2:41and not in view of the result. One wants to obtain indeed.
- 2:47In life, always in all things, the result does not belong to us
- 2:53and if we want to keep the right attitude, we must act feel think
- 3:00strives spontaneously for that is what we must do.
- 3:06And not in view of the result to be obtained.
- 3:11As soon as we think of the result, we begin to bargain and
- 3:14that takes away. All sincerity from the effort,
- 3:18you make an effort to progress because you feel within you, the
- 3:21need the imperative need to make an effort and progress.
- 3:27And this effort is the gift. You offer to the Divine
- 3:30Consciousness in you, the Divine Consciousness in the universe.
- 3:35It is your way of expressing your gratitude, offering
- 3:39yourself. And whether this results in
- 3:43progress or not is of no importance, you will progress
- 3:48when it is decided that the time is come to progress and not
- 3:52because you desire it in quote reference SRI, aurobindo in the
