- 0:01Speaker 1: Welcome to another episode of Busting with Your Busting with
- 0:05Speaker 1: the Boys. I'm your host, will come thum. We got
- 0:08Speaker 1: the boys in the bag, Jack Mitch Taylor. The boys
- 0:11Speaker 1: out in Canada right now, battling fires apparently out in
- 0:15Speaker 1: Western I think Western. I don't want to butcher at
- 0:17Speaker 1: Western BC. Like there's a lot of wildfires and fires
- 0:20Speaker 1: going on. The boy they had to evacuate. My wife
- 0:24Speaker 1: was on a bachorette out in California, out in Palm Springs.
- 0:28Speaker 1: Her flag gets canceled yesterday because of the hurricane situation.
- 0:33Speaker 1: So places are flooded out there. People aren't able to
- 0:35Speaker 1: get out. There's a lot of shit going on the
- 0:37Speaker 1: West Coast. It's thankful to be in a landlocked state
- 0:40Speaker 1: like Tennessee, be in the middle of the country where
- 0:42Speaker 1: you can stay away from all the danger. Before we
- 0:44Speaker 1: get into the episode, we are brought to you by
- 0:47Speaker 1: the one, the only, The Chevy Silverado Summer is here
- 0:50Speaker 1: and what better way to take advantage of all it
- 0:51Speaker 1: has to offer them with the Chevy Silverado Silverado Summer.
- 0:54Speaker 1: Think of all the possibilities boys from off road adventures,
- 0:57Speaker 1: to do yourself projects and hardcore work. Silverado has the
- 1:00Speaker 1: capability and technology to make this summer your best one yet.
- 1:04Speaker 1: With nine different Silverado models to choose from, an engines
- 1:07Speaker 1: that range from the powerful Turbomax to the six point
- 1:10Speaker 1: two liter V eight and the Duramax Diesel, you can
- 1:13Speaker 1: count on Chevy power and performance to get anything done.
- 1:16Speaker 1: And like many of you, the boys have been hitting
- 1:18Speaker 1: the road a lot lately. We're actually gonna be hitting
- 1:20Speaker 1: the road a lot come this fall, especially in September.
- 1:22Speaker 1: I think we're busy all four or five weeks, I
- 1:24Speaker 1: believe for our fall tailgate tour, which we can get into.
- 1:28Speaker 1: But there is an army of Silverado's and Silverado owners,
- 1:32Speaker 1: So shout out to all.
- 1:33Speaker 2: The boys out there.
- 1:33Speaker 1: Game recognizes game, and I know there's a lot of
- 1:35Speaker 1: We're going out to Nebraska for the bust and Bowl
- 1:37Speaker 1: in week five. I know there's gonna be a lot
- 1:39Speaker 1: of Chevy Silverado owners out there. But head over to
- 1:41Speaker 1: Chevy dot com and check out the Silverado and all
- 1:44Speaker 1: the Chevy trucks because it is the official truck of
- 1:48Speaker 1: Busting with the Boys. Guys, if you're watching on YouTube
- 1:50Speaker 1: right now, do not be shy to hit the subscribe button.
- 1:53Speaker 1: I know we're gonna have probably a lot of Chargers
- 1:55Speaker 1: fans tuned in. Oh, somebody's calling me. Actually have to
- 2:02Speaker 1: not take it right now. There's probably gonna be a
- 2:05Speaker 1: lot of Chargers fan tuned in. But we are almost
- 2:07Speaker 1: two four hundred thousand subscribers. That is fucking insane the
- 2:12Speaker 1: growth that's happened. Shout out to the boys in the back, Jack, Mitch, JP, Garrett,
- 2:17Speaker 1: all the boys who have been a part of growing
- 2:19Speaker 1: this thing. Dude, four hundred thousand subscribers is insane, is
- 2:25Speaker 1: truly insane.
- 2:26Speaker 2: Mitch.
- 2:27Speaker 1: I know you and JP said down at the beginning
- 2:28Speaker 1: of the year, or we're going over Hey, let's reach
- 2:31Speaker 1: reach for ambitious fucking goals, goals that we might not touch,
- 2:35Speaker 1: but let's paint something. Let's just paint a picture and
- 2:38Speaker 1: fucking go after something. I know you guys had a
- 2:42Speaker 1: very ambitious goal of seven hundred and fifty thousand by
- 2:44Speaker 1: the end of the year. Also with a realistic goal
- 2:46Speaker 1: you like to call it a five hundred thousand by
- 2:48Speaker 1: the end of the year. Right now, it seems like
- 2:49Speaker 1: we're on pace, but you guys have been fucking murdering it.
- 2:53Speaker 2: Man with a with a big fall coming up.
- 2:55Speaker 3: I think there's a chance we could reach our not
- 2:58Speaker 3: the very ambitious goal of fifty k, but five hundred
- 3:01Speaker 3: thousand I think is definitely in the cards, and especially
- 3:05Speaker 3: for what it looks like we have playning this fall,
- 3:07Speaker 3: I'm feeling pretty good about it.
- 3:09Speaker 1: I know, man, it's one of those things. Hey, I
- 3:11Speaker 1: have to take this phone call. I'm sorry.
- 3:13Speaker 4: What did you end on saying we might be able
- 3:15Speaker 4: to hit that goal?
- 3:16Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 3:16Speaker 3: I was saying, how with everything we have playing in
- 3:19Speaker 3: the fall, there's definitely a chance that we could be
- 3:23Speaker 3: hitting that five hundred k.
- 3:24Speaker 1: You gotta get I know, dude, that push, just the
- 3:28Speaker 1: push from the different fan bases.
- 3:30Speaker 4: We're gonna be doing a lot of shit this year.
- 3:32Speaker 2: I know.
- 3:32Speaker 1: We're doing our fall tailgate tour where we're going to
- 3:35Speaker 1: six different colleges.
- 3:36Speaker 2: Yeah it's six, yes, six stops, but they haven't been
- 3:39Speaker 2: announced yet.
- 3:40Speaker 4: They have not and there's still time, like we need.
- 3:42Speaker 1: If you're watching right now and you want the boys
- 3:44Speaker 1: to come by, come to your guys' college game, drop
- 3:47Speaker 1: it in the chat of where he wants to go.
- 3:48Speaker 1: The only thing we have kind of locked in right
- 3:50Speaker 1: now is the Bust and Bowl. That's week five, Michigan
- 3:52Speaker 1: at Nebraska. We will be in Lincoln. We will be
- 3:55Speaker 1: at Memorial Stadium, but we have not announced. We're still
- 3:58Speaker 1: kind of working through the stops are gonna go to.
- 4:00Speaker 1: We're bringing the bus. We bought an extra bus so
- 4:02Speaker 1: that way we could drive it and only gets up
- 4:04Speaker 1: to fifty five.
- 4:05Speaker 4: It's got a hole in the middle of the floor.
- 4:07Speaker 1: But the boys we found it somewhere down in the
- 4:09Speaker 1: uh somewhere in the sticks of Georgia for sale on Craigslist.
- 4:13Speaker 2: We bought that thing.
- 4:14Speaker 1: We're now we're going through a lot of hoops, insurance wise,
- 4:16Speaker 1: and everything else to get this thing on the road.
- 4:19Speaker 1: But we will be going on the Fall Tailgate tour.
- 4:21Speaker 1: We got the bus and ball. Like I said, we're
- 4:23Speaker 1: gonna be in some stuff at the pro level as well.
- 4:24Speaker 1: Obviously we got the Tysontown Taylor. The Boy obviously is
- 4:27Speaker 1: a Titan through and through. So we'll be doing stuff
- 4:29Speaker 1: here locally. And yeah, man, I hope we fucking do bro.
- 4:33Speaker 1: I hope, Like dude, if we hit seven hundred and
- 4:35Speaker 1: fifty thousand subscribers on YouTube, that would be nuts, man.
- 4:39Speaker 1: So hey, tell your group, chests, tell your friends, tell
- 4:41Speaker 1: the boys that we need everybody. It's gonna take everybody.
- 4:45Speaker 1: We did some cool interviews this last week right when
- 4:48Speaker 1: we got back from Italy. We hit the ground running
- 4:51Speaker 1: the next day, flying out to LA. We got out
- 4:55Speaker 1: to LA We got to sit down and go to
- 4:56Speaker 1: the Chargers training camp.
- 4:58Speaker 2: We gotta go.
- 4:58Speaker 1: We got to go to the Raiders training We got
- 5:00Speaker 1: to do, got to do some collapse with some cool podcasts,
- 5:04Speaker 1: The Fighter and the Kid.
- 5:05Speaker 2: That one is out.
- 5:06Speaker 1: I would assume the Bad Friends pod that we did
- 5:08Speaker 1: with Santino and Bobby Lee, that'll be out this week.
- 5:11Speaker 1: I would assume if not, that one will be out soon.
- 5:14Speaker 1: And then we also I had to fly out on
- 5:18Speaker 1: Thursday after the Richison Show. We got to go on
- 5:20Speaker 1: the Rich Eisen Show, which was the coolest fucking thing
- 5:22Speaker 1: in the world. Been watching that dude since I was
- 5:25Speaker 1: just a little pup and now seeing him, like I
- 5:27Speaker 1: don't know, just getting to be on his set and
- 5:29Speaker 1: everything else.
- 5:29Speaker 4: It's just one of those like damn, this is this
- 5:31Speaker 4: is fucking awesome.
- 5:33Speaker 1: And then the Boy the Boys got to go out
- 5:35Speaker 1: to Steve O's house and sit down with Steve O's
- 5:38Speaker 1: so that interview will come.
- 5:39Speaker 4: But sometime in the future.
- 5:40Speaker 1: We got a lot of things we're working through right now,
- 5:42Speaker 1: some cool segments we're trying to build out for the fall.
- 5:44Speaker 1: We got a new show coming out this fall, which
- 5:46Speaker 1: will be announced soon. We fucking bet the buses coming back.
- 5:49Speaker 1: We got new merch coming out, new new uh the
- 5:52Speaker 1: Boys theme merch for this year for college teams, NFL teams.
- 5:56Speaker 1: You know how we start small until we can build
- 5:57Speaker 1: demand somewhere else. So the Boys got a lot, a
- 6:00Speaker 1: lot of irons in the fire right now. We probably
- 6:02Speaker 1: need to bring somebody else on board. But anyway, we
- 6:05Speaker 1: had a hell of a week out in LA that.
- 6:08Speaker 2: Was all time.
- 6:08Speaker 1: I want to say it was on what was it
- 6:10Speaker 1: Wednesday where we kind of had like the twelve hour day.
- 6:13Speaker 1: It felt like, I mean, we had a lot of
- 6:16Speaker 1: fun in between. Then we hit Are Tough, but Wednesday
- 6:22Speaker 1: was like we obviously went out and hit the arcade
- 6:24Speaker 1: and play some mini golf. We were out in the
- 6:25Speaker 1: sun right because we did ray Or, we did The
- 6:28Speaker 1: Fighter and the Kid. Then we went out to the
- 6:29Speaker 1: Raiders training camp. By the way, sitting down with coach McDaniels,
- 6:32Speaker 1: that one's gonna come out next week. The way we're
- 6:34Speaker 1: gonna roll them out this episode. Austin Eckler, Mike Williams,
- 6:37Speaker 1: and Keenan Allen. We said down with those three. They
- 6:39Speaker 1: were combined forty like around forty minutes, when only got
- 6:42Speaker 1: to talk to Austin for like ten minutes. It sucks
- 6:44Speaker 1: because I really wanted to get into the running back
- 6:46Speaker 1: market stuff. Mike Williams and Keenan Allen they joined us.
- 6:49Speaker 1: They'll be rolling out today and then on Thursday. You
- 6:52Speaker 1: can expect to see us again on Thursday. We'll be
- 6:53Speaker 1: dropping the Derwin James interview on Thursday, and the next
- 6:58Speaker 1: Tuesday you will see Coach McDaniel from The Raiders. He
- 7:01Speaker 1: was honestly a lot of fun to sit down with.
- 7:03Speaker 1: I didn't know what to expect those low key a
- 7:04Speaker 1: little nervous My boy a Merebdula just said they got
- 7:07Speaker 1: done not having the greatest practice in the world. So
- 7:09Speaker 1: he's kind of got that light about him that he's
- 7:12Speaker 1: a little bit of a stiff.
- 7:13Speaker 4: He was not at all sitting with us.
- 7:14Speaker 1: I think this interview that comes out with Coach mcdamzels,
- 7:17Speaker 1: I think a lot of people are gonna like it
- 7:19Speaker 1: and enjoy it.
- 7:20Speaker 4: But that's kind of what you guys can look forward to.
- 7:23Speaker 1: But yeah, we got to hit the Raiders' training camp
- 7:25Speaker 1: and then that day we had to stay up north
- 7:26Speaker 1: in northern La, so we hit mini golf. We're playing
- 7:30Speaker 1: the arcade, We're sweating our fucking asses off, and then
- 7:33Speaker 1: we go and do Bad Friends pot at like seven
- 7:35Speaker 1: pm at night, seven thirty at night.
- 7:37Speaker 4: Finally get back to the hotel like ten.
- 7:39Speaker 1: You know, we have to drive like forty minutes back
- 7:41Speaker 1: down where a hotel was fortunately missing all the it
- 7:44Speaker 1: was after all the traffic. But we had a bit
- 7:46Speaker 1: of a day on Wednesday, hit it Thursday morning with
- 7:48Speaker 1: the richis and show and then was out.
- 7:50Speaker 2: But it was a hell of a week. Man.
- 7:51Speaker 4: Now we got back into the swing of things. I
- 7:53Speaker 4: get back.
- 7:54Speaker 1: My wife's gone for her bachelorette party for the weekend,
- 7:56Speaker 1: storm rolling solo dad duty all weekend.
- 7:58Speaker 4: I log and a half hours on my garment of sleep.
- 8:01Speaker 1: One night, boys, I fell asleep crashing on the couch
- 8:03Speaker 1: at like nine point thirty and didn't wake up until
- 8:05Speaker 1: like five The next morning, went over, went over to
- 8:07Speaker 1: my bed, slept till about eight thirty. But it felt
- 8:10Speaker 1: like I can't remember the last time I've slept ten
- 8:13Speaker 1: and a half hours, slept really past I usually struggle
- 8:16Speaker 1: to sleep like past eight o'clock, but I don't know
- 8:18Speaker 1: the last time I've logged like an actual ten and
- 8:20Speaker 1: a half hours. But hella fun weekend, get a little
- 8:25Speaker 1: weekend with the daughter with Rudeley, and now we're we're
- 8:28Speaker 1: back kicking this week. Boys, we got some stuff. We
- 8:32Speaker 1: got some segments coming up. Shout out, I know for
- 8:34Speaker 1: shout out, pet peeve, twisted question, teared talk, shittiest question.
- 8:39Speaker 1: We'll get into those things after we not got this
- 8:41Speaker 1: ad read. We interrupt this episode to bring you Duke Cannon.
- 8:44Speaker 1: Duke Cannon creates thick, high viscosity body wash. Thick is
- 8:48Speaker 1: formulated with a noticeably high viscosity and built to work
- 8:51Speaker 1: effectively on your body and not spew down the shower drain.
- 8:54Speaker 1: We partnered with Duke Cannon to create a scent that
- 8:57Speaker 1: best embodied are Trophy, the rivalry game between Nebraska Michigan.
- 9:02Speaker 4: It's called the Bust and Bowl. We all came together.
- 9:04Speaker 1: Duke Cannon wanted to partner with the boys and create
- 9:07Speaker 1: a scent that best embodied this game. We wanted to
- 9:09Speaker 1: bring a scent to life that celebrates this game, the
- 9:12Speaker 1: greatest rivalry, Nebraska versus Michigan, and we wanted to create.
- 9:16Speaker 4: This big ass brick of soap.
- 9:17Speaker 1: A biggest brick of soap is three times bigger than
- 9:19Speaker 1: any of your common bullshit soaps out there. It's a
- 9:22Speaker 1: triple mild for high superior quality, and it's made with
- 9:26Speaker 1: natural oils. With this scent called the Trophy Game created
- 9:29Speaker 1: by Busting with the Boys and Duke Cannon, we wanted
- 9:33Speaker 1: to give you, guys, hints of smoke, leather, and amber
- 9:36Speaker 1: that smells like a collegiate football game, bragging rights that
- 9:41Speaker 1: that them shoulder pads you smell when you walk into
- 9:45Speaker 1: a locker room, but with a little bit more of
- 9:47Speaker 1: an appealing taste. When you walk out and you hit
- 9:49Speaker 1: that tailgate, you smell like, Hey, what do you smell like?
- 9:52Speaker 1: I smell like the fucking Trophy Game that was created
- 9:55Speaker 1: by Busting with the Boys and Duke Cannon. Find this
- 9:58Speaker 1: new Duke Cannon scent at Duke Cannon Dot slash Trophy
- 10:01Speaker 1: Game again.
- 10:02Speaker 2: Bust with the Boys.
- 10:03Speaker 1: Duke Cannon created a soap that helped solve the problem
- 10:07Speaker 1: of finding the scent that best represented the Trophy Game,
- 10:09Speaker 1: which is the bust and ball fought over by Michigan
- 10:12Speaker 1: and Nebraska. That scent is now available everywhere everywhere. It's
- 10:17Speaker 1: called Trophy Game. Go to Duke Cannon dot com slash
- 10:20Speaker 1: Trophy Game. And speaking of being out in the ra
- 10:23Speaker 1: at the Raiders' training camp out in La Josh Jacobs
- 10:26Speaker 1: just signed.
- 10:27Speaker 2: I think he's going back.
- 10:28Speaker 1: The rumor is, are the articles that are coming out
- 10:30Speaker 1: right now, is that Josh is going back to training camp.
- 10:34Speaker 1: I'm like, I'm fired up because we need the boys
- 10:38Speaker 1: firing on all cylinders.
- 10:39Speaker 4: We need the Silver and Black rolling this football season.
- 10:41Speaker 1: I think Josh Jacobs is one of the best, if
- 10:44Speaker 1: not the best running back in the league right now,
- 10:47Speaker 1: especially with the numbers he put up last year. I
- 10:50Speaker 1: know he was wanting to hold out for a long
- 10:51Speaker 1: term deal or a longer deal. The whole running back
- 10:54Speaker 1: market in general, That's why I can't wait for you
- 10:56Speaker 1: guys to listen to Austin Eckler coming up. But the
- 10:58Speaker 1: whole running back market in general has been kind of like,
- 11:01Speaker 1: you know, vocalizing their their concerns about the the the
- 11:07Speaker 1: devaluing of the running back over time. You had guys
- 11:10Speaker 1: going into this offseason back when they had the FaceTime call,
- 11:13Speaker 1: when the running backs were kind of stand up and
- 11:15Speaker 1: vocalizing their their concerns and and uh and frustration. You
- 11:21Speaker 1: had Dalvin Cook, not Austin Eckler, he's up after next year.
- 11:26Speaker 1: But you had Dalvin Cook, Saquon Barkley, Josh Jacobs, anybody
- 11:30Speaker 1: else that was uh that was looking for a deal,
- 11:32Speaker 1: Ezekiel Elliott.
- 11:33Speaker 2: You had four go ahead Mitch maybe I know he
- 11:38Speaker 2: was like kind of up and now that he is there.
- 11:40Speaker 1: Anymore, right, you kind of get to be the feature back,
- 11:43Speaker 1: the main back.
- 11:44Speaker 2: Uh.
- 11:44Speaker 1: You had those four backs, Zeke, Dalvin Cook, sa Kwon
- 11:47Speaker 1: and Josh kind of hole down doing their thing, being
- 11:50Speaker 1: hopeful for long term deals. But obviously the back and
- 11:53Speaker 1: forth here all of those running backs got one year deals,
- 11:56Speaker 1: some soft one year deals. I want to say, Dalvin
- 11:59Speaker 1: and Zeke, we're like in that four to six range
- 12:01Speaker 1: for a year. Saquon, I want to say, he signed
- 12:05Speaker 1: a one year for like ten and ten and some change. Yeah,
- 12:09Speaker 1: But did he sign the tag or did they just
- 12:11Speaker 1: modify the one year deal. Maybe you signed the tag
- 12:13Speaker 1: and then you modify. I have no fucking clue. And
- 12:15Speaker 1: it seems like Josh Jacobs is about to be in
- 12:17Speaker 1: the same boat. All running backs were hopeful they could
- 12:19Speaker 1: get long term deals done. It seems like you chalk
- 12:22Speaker 1: this one up as the owners. You know, the leverage
- 12:26Speaker 1: is hard. Man Quon was in a podcast recently talking
- 12:29Speaker 1: about you could just say fuck it, like fuck the
- 12:33Speaker 1: team and fuck ownership and everything else and hold out
- 12:36Speaker 1: because your leverage is you playing right. But at the
- 12:38Speaker 1: same time, you're in the most selfless team game there is,
- 12:43Speaker 1: and there's a part of you that doesn't want to
- 12:44Speaker 1: do anything. There's a big part of you that doesn't
- 12:46Speaker 1: want to do that because you don't want to send
- 12:48Speaker 1: that message to the team because even though it's you
- 12:50Speaker 1: negotiating against the ownership, right it's like it's you negotiating
- 12:53Speaker 1: for your deal. You still have the internal the internal
- 12:57Speaker 1: conversations that go on amongst the players, amongst the coaches
- 13:00Speaker 1: that just some guys can feel slight as some guys
- 13:02Speaker 1: can It's like, man, at what point is enough money
- 13:04Speaker 1: and enough? Like, hey, we're we're looking to the future
- 13:07Speaker 1: of the running back here trying to save the running
- 13:08Speaker 1: back like species as a whole. But how far do
- 13:11Speaker 1: you go to try and do that without sending the
- 13:14Speaker 1: wrong message and not even that, but playing in the
- 13:16Speaker 1: window that you can play in, Like the NFL stands
- 13:19Speaker 1: for not for long, but the shelf life as an
- 13:21Speaker 1: NFL player is very small, and it's like, how far
- 13:25Speaker 1: are you willing to go to try and acquire a
- 13:28Speaker 1: contract that you feel like is necessary for the running
- 13:31Speaker 1: back market to kind of value itself back up in
- 13:33Speaker 1: the ranks.
- 13:34Speaker 4: Data doesn't like play into their hands.
- 13:36Speaker 1: It's like when you get past that second contract, or
- 13:38Speaker 1: when you get past that first contract, the tread on
- 13:41Speaker 1: the tire, it thins out. Man, It's like, how much
- 13:45Speaker 1: Dereck Henry's basically the only running back to prove that
- 13:48Speaker 1: you get better in the second contract. I'm not saying
- 13:50Speaker 1: that running backs aren't fucking great in the second contract,
- 13:53Speaker 1: but it's one of those things like Derek's one specimen
- 13:55Speaker 1: that's kind of proving the okay, he still can put
- 13:58Speaker 1: up two thousand yard scenes and everything else. I think
- 14:00Speaker 1: this year will be a big year that will play
- 14:02Speaker 1: into that data. It's like the guys like Austin Eckler,
- 14:04Speaker 1: Derrick Henry, Saquan Josh Jacobs, Ezekiel Elliott, these type of
- 14:09Speaker 1: backs that were absolute studs in their earlier years when
- 14:12Speaker 1: they're getting these long term deals, you need them to
- 14:15Speaker 1: still perform like fucking studs, like horses in their later
- 14:19Speaker 1: twenties to help that data show that, hey, the running
- 14:22Speaker 1: back can carry that type of load. Because we stay
- 14:24Speaker 1: with Austin and I wish again, I wish we had
- 14:26Speaker 1: more time with Austin and very smart cat. You see
- 14:30Speaker 1: that he's very business savvy, is savvy. He understands the
- 14:34Speaker 1: complexities that come with the running back market and the
- 14:38Speaker 1: value and the businesses and the ownership being an owner
- 14:40Speaker 1: versus being an employee. And Austin says a lot of
- 14:43Speaker 1: good stuff. But Austin's story is a great example of
- 14:48Speaker 1: not necessarily running back by committee. But there's some hungry
- 14:51Speaker 1: motherfuckers that are out there that's just waiting on the
- 14:53Speaker 1: opportunity to get their shot.
- 14:55Speaker 2: Austin is one of those examples.
- 14:56Speaker 1: Because you go back to where Melvin Gordon was holding
- 14:59Speaker 1: out for a deal at the time because he wanted
- 15:01Speaker 1: a bigger deal for the running back.
- 15:03Speaker 2: I wanted to say, maybe.
- 15:06Speaker 1: Who's old boy from from the Arizona Cardinals at the time,
- 15:11Speaker 1: David Johnson might have gotten a big deal. I can't remember.
- 15:13Speaker 1: Somebody got something. I want to say Melvin Gordon wanted
- 15:15Speaker 1: something like that. Maybe it was Ezekiel Elliott and Melvin
- 15:18Speaker 1: was holding out for something more right. He was kind
- 15:21Speaker 1: of like trying to leverage his ability. He's coming off
- 15:23Speaker 1: of a prime year and was trying to leverage himself
- 15:26Speaker 1: in those times where he was holding out. A guy
- 15:29Speaker 1: like Austin Eckler, an undrafted, fucking free agent that's cutting
- 15:32Speaker 1: his teeth on special teams and realize he can tote
- 15:35Speaker 1: the rock around the team. Realize he can tote the
- 15:36Speaker 1: rock round in training camp. Because when your starter's gone
- 15:39Speaker 1: and your best abilities availability, when somebody's gone, you're next up.
- 15:43Speaker 1: That next man up mentality, there's gonna be a hungry
- 15:45Speaker 1: motherfucker or a diamond in the rough. At some point
- 15:47Speaker 1: along the way, a story like Austin Ecklers proves that
- 15:50Speaker 1: that he comes in, he overtakes that job.
- 15:53Speaker 4: He becomes the mainstay of running back.
- 15:55Speaker 1: He becomes like the dude it all running back, run,
- 15:57Speaker 1: pass catch, put his face in the fan in pass ball,
- 16:00Speaker 1: pass pro and all that. And then you find yourself
- 16:02Speaker 1: that the game's gonna go on and go with or
- 16:05Speaker 1: without you. Austin's now gonna position himself of being an
- 16:07Speaker 1: old head and being somebody who's got to kind of
- 16:10Speaker 1: carry that towards for those perennial backs that can be
- 16:12Speaker 1: older and still tote the rock. But it's just interesting
- 16:15Speaker 1: because ultimately, like guys got to look out for themselves.
- 16:19Speaker 1: You got to take those you got to take those
- 16:21Speaker 1: contracts when you feel like you can. I'm saying all
- 16:24Speaker 1: that because Josh Jacobs he was holding out I would
- 16:26Speaker 1: assume for three to.
- 16:27Speaker 4: Five year deal.
- 16:28Speaker 1: Maybe he possibly wanted maybe a longer term deal, and
- 16:32Speaker 1: maybe there was something on the table. I know we
- 16:34Speaker 1: were there at their training camp. It sounded like there
- 16:37Speaker 1: was something on the table at some point in time.
- 16:39Speaker 1: And he doesn't see that contract. He doesn't get that
- 16:41Speaker 1: because they couldn't agree to terms before that July seventeenth,
- 16:45Speaker 1: franchise tag date June seventeenth, somewhere in the summer. Then
- 16:49Speaker 1: when you miss that opportunity to get a longer term deal,
- 16:52Speaker 1: it is now signed the franchise tag or get on
- 16:54Speaker 1: a one year deal at most. So Josh is now
- 16:57Speaker 1: in a position where he plays on this tag. Hopefully
- 17:00Speaker 1: he knocks it out of the fucking park. To where
- 17:02Speaker 1: he can look at getting a multi year deal, but
- 17:05Speaker 1: if not, you play yourself out of that contract that
- 17:09Speaker 1: you could have gotten, where you miss money. That's why
- 17:11Speaker 1: it's it's always such a tough spot to be in
- 17:13Speaker 1: as a player because you've got to bet on yourself.
- 17:15Speaker 2: Owners.
- 17:16Speaker 1: They're not going anywhere. They know the ball is gonna
- 17:18Speaker 1: continue to balance, they know that the rosters are gonna
- 17:22Speaker 1: look different year and in year out. They're not going anywhere.
- 17:24Speaker 1: Their shelf life is as long as they want it
- 17:26Speaker 1: to be. So it's just tough negotiating against time, for
- 17:31Speaker 1: your for the boys, for yourself, balancing it all. But
- 17:35Speaker 1: I'm fired up Josh's back in camp obviously because I'm
- 17:38Speaker 1: root for the Silver and Black this year. I'm not
- 17:39Speaker 1: sitting in the seat of being a fan watching the
- 17:41Speaker 1: boys unless a call shakes up in December or January,
- 17:45Speaker 1: like I was talking about with the head.
- 17:46Speaker 2: Coaching GM while we're out there in Vegas.
- 17:48Speaker 1: But so you guys will love the conversation we had

- 19:04Speaker 1: is your shout out? No free shout out broad to
- 19:06Speaker 1: us by Paramount Plus.
- 19:09Speaker 3: My shout out no free shout out this week goes
- 19:12Speaker 3: to this is technically week zero of college football season.
- 19:16Speaker 2: We do not.
- 19:17Speaker 3: We have college football every Saturday from now until January,
- 19:24Speaker 3: which is absolutely unreal. So my shout out goes to
- 19:28Speaker 3: those college football hype videos that you watch to get
- 19:33Speaker 3: ready for the season. I know, I personally used to
- 19:35Speaker 3: watch them before my games. Oh yeah, you would just
- 19:38Speaker 3: be sitting on the bus like juiced up, getting goosebumps and.
- 19:41Speaker 2: Stuff, and there we read.
- 19:45Speaker 3: It just fires you up so much to get out
- 19:47Speaker 3: there and just like play football. Like I'll still watch
- 19:50Speaker 3: them nowadays just to get ready to sit on my
- 19:52Speaker 3: couch and watch it. But there might be a college
- 19:56Speaker 3: football high video coming out of Busting for or College
- 20:01Speaker 3: Football Tour canne Foreshadows.
- 20:04Speaker 4: Do stuff about that. I do like a good motivational video.
- 20:07Speaker 2: I haven't seen it yet, but it's in the Lab
- 20:10Speaker 2: of Cooking.
- 20:11Speaker 1: Really yeah, I do love that. And you say, watch
- 20:13Speaker 1: get hyped up just to sit on your couch. No, man,
- 20:15Speaker 1: there's like a there's a nostalgia that comes watching a
- 20:19Speaker 1: fucking motivational video like that, and you watch back in
- 20:22Speaker 1: the day when you know, in August, when the paths
- 20:24Speaker 1: are popping and fall Camp was happening. Maybe like me
- 20:27Speaker 1: back in middle school, Headstrong was getting hype. Like you
- 20:30Speaker 1: get a song that just pulls you in, that brings
- 20:31Speaker 1: you back to a moment when you were fucking lacing
- 20:34Speaker 1: up where they're putting on the paths, getting on the
- 20:36Speaker 1: court doesn't fucking matter, and it just fires you the
- 20:40Speaker 1: fuck up that you yeah, get to sit on the
- 20:41Speaker 1: couch and root for your favorite team, but it brings
- 20:44Speaker 1: you back to a moment to where it gives you
- 20:46Speaker 1: that nostalgia, missing it and knowing that the season is here,
- 20:49Speaker 1: like the weather's here and everything else, and you're fired
- 20:51Speaker 1: up to be hanging with the boys or whoever you're around,
- 20:54Speaker 1: just to get motivated and verbally assault some people at
- 20:56Speaker 1: the television and dropping the group chats and throw your
- 21:00Speaker 1: sack there on the table and let him know that
- 21:02Speaker 1: you won in fantasy football, like the air is coming, bro.
- 21:06Speaker 2: I love that shout out amongst us.
- 21:08Speaker 4: It is amongst us, Jack, what do you.
- 21:10Speaker 5: Got kind of going off with mitches saying football's back,
- 21:14Speaker 5: but my shouting of your shout out.
- 21:16Speaker 6: Goes to parlays.
- 21:18Speaker 5: The gambling gods always are against us, but this weekend
- 21:23Speaker 5: also kind of a partial shout out shouting over your
- 21:25Speaker 5: shout out to Sean O'Malley, the bantamweight champion of the world.
- 21:30Speaker 6: I took a nice little parlay.
- 21:33Speaker 5: It was Sean O'Malley any any kind of win so knockout,
- 21:39Speaker 5: TKO or submission before two and a half rounds, and
- 21:43Speaker 5: it was like plus four eighty five. Put like fifty
- 21:47Speaker 5: bucks on it and won like four hundred dollars. So
- 21:50Speaker 5: it was it was a nice little treat on Saturday,
- 21:53Speaker 5: and I was I'm a big Sean O'Malley fan, so
- 21:56Speaker 5: just see him win.
- 21:57Speaker 6: The belt and also get a little coin on the side.
- 21:59Speaker 5: It was not so like I said, Football's right around
- 22:03Speaker 5: the corner. Cannot wait to be thrown out.
- 22:05Speaker 6: Bets.
- 22:05Speaker 2: Also nasty parlays.
- 22:07Speaker 6: Yeah we might be.
- 22:09Speaker 5: We might be having some parlays coming out here in
- 22:12Speaker 5: the next few months, along with some content, so stay
- 22:16Speaker 5: tuned with that. But yeah, shout out to winning a parlay.
- 22:19Speaker 5: It's kind of like cheats system.
- 22:21Speaker 1: Some of the boys getting in front of the camera
- 22:22Speaker 1: a little bit more with something we got cooking this fall.
- 22:25Speaker 5: We'll see, we'll see what goes on. But yeah, shout
- 22:27Speaker 5: out to to a nice wager.
- 22:29Speaker 1: Dude, I'm so excited to stay in that show up
- 22:31Speaker 1: and obviously build the hype for that, like it's gonna
- 22:34Speaker 1: be fun.
- 22:35Speaker 4: It's gonna be a great fucking time.
- 22:37Speaker 2: Uh.
- 22:37Speaker 1: And also Big Cat, he tweeted it yesterday over the weekend,
- 22:40Speaker 1: the Pro Football Football Show, Your boy is coming on
- 22:43Speaker 1: as a co host. So I'm fired up as as
- 22:45Speaker 1: one of the main stays on the show with a
- 22:47Speaker 1: big Cat. I want to say Casey is is one
- 22:50Speaker 1: as well. I want to say Dave is gonna be involved,
- 22:52Speaker 1: Taylor's gonna be involved, Kyle Long, we got a like
- 22:55Speaker 1: a revolving fourth chair. We got a revolving fourth chair
- 22:59Speaker 1: with my Big Cat and Casey. But that's gonna be
- 23:01Speaker 1: a fucking good time. And I know last year, the
- 23:03Speaker 1: last two years they've had Dion Sanders on, So you
- 23:05Speaker 1: go from one Hall of Famer to the next. Very excited,
- 23:09Speaker 1: very excited to be on the Pro Football Football Show.
- 23:12Speaker 1: We're gonna be rolling around a lot this fall. And
- 23:14Speaker 1: it's gonna be exciting. I think we have the tailgate
- 23:17Speaker 1: tour stuff spaced out enough, start off hot in September,
- 23:21Speaker 1: then we get.
- 23:21Speaker 2: To sit back.
- 23:22Speaker 1: Maybe it's either one or two in October, but we
- 23:24Speaker 1: really get to pour into this Spootober and then we're
- 23:27Speaker 1: looking at you know, one or couple in November, and
- 23:29Speaker 1: again we're starting to iron those things out.
- 23:31Speaker 2: But we don't.
- 23:32Speaker 1: Last year we learn like how quickly like that flame
- 23:36Speaker 1: can burn at both ends when you're trying to get
- 23:39Speaker 1: absolutely everywhere. But we're gonna have a lot of fun
- 23:41Speaker 1: stuff happing man getting out and frequenting Chicago and everything else.
- 23:45Speaker 1: My shout out, I know, free shout out brought to
- 23:47Speaker 1: Spy Paramount plus is gonna go to uh the parents
- 23:50Speaker 1: will get on board with this one. But when you
- 23:54Speaker 1: when you sleep in and your infant doesn't wake up
- 23:58Speaker 1: until like you wake you hear him, sir, and I
- 24:01Speaker 1: heard Roostern at like eight thirty. Rue wakes up at
- 24:03Speaker 1: she usually we put her down at seven. She sleeps
- 24:06Speaker 1: till seven, but she's usually up at like six thirty
- 24:08Speaker 1: and then chills in the crib until about seven or
- 24:10Speaker 1: until we go up and get her and since mom's
- 24:13Speaker 1: out of town. It was just your boy. And when
- 24:15Speaker 1: I knocked out on the couch that night, I was
- 24:17Speaker 1: trying to stay up to watch the Sean O maleyfil
- 24:19Speaker 1: to watch the Chano Maley fight and that it's a
- 24:21Speaker 1: great shout out Jack because I'm fired up that he's
- 24:23Speaker 1: a champion. But I was trying to stay up and
- 24:25Speaker 1: watch that fight. Ended up dozing off and fall asleep,
- 24:29Speaker 1: but get it back in bed, like go go to
- 24:31Speaker 1: my bed at like five in the morning, thinking like
- 24:33Speaker 1: I'll probably just sleep. I felt kind of awake, but
- 24:35Speaker 1: I was I'll sleep a couple more hours and I'm
- 24:36Speaker 1: sure i'll wake up here at six thirty or seven.
- 24:39Speaker 1: And when I start to hear rooster, like eight thirty
- 24:42Speaker 1: in the morning, and she's being cool, calm and collected,
- 24:44Speaker 1: like that's a that's a good feeling when you get
- 24:46Speaker 1: all of your sleep in as a parent and your
- 24:48Speaker 1: little one that isn't bothering you, they're not interrupting your sleep,
- 24:51Speaker 1: like they're not ready to go, and you're like, okay,
- 24:52Speaker 1: let's get going. Like she was just chilling and in
- 24:54Speaker 1: a good mood in her crib at like eight thirty
- 24:56Speaker 1: in the morning, so dad was fired up.
- 24:58Speaker 4: That's my shotow.
- 24:59Speaker 1: No free shot out is when you get when you
- 25:01Speaker 1: get to sleep in as a parent and your little
- 25:03Speaker 1: ones not making a fuss in the morning, and you
- 25:05Speaker 1: get to kind of still like enjoy your morning.
- 25:08Speaker 4: But that's my that's my shout out, no free shoutout.
- 25:10Speaker 5: Boys, it's someone who does not have kids at some
- 25:13Speaker 5: point probably will.
- 25:15Speaker 6: It scares me a lot.
- 25:16Speaker 5: Having to give up those precious moments of sleep on
- 25:19Speaker 5: like a weekend.
- 25:20Speaker 6: That's why I know I'm not ready to be a dad.
- 25:22Speaker 5: It's because I'm not ready to wake up at six
- 25:25Speaker 5: am and deal with a kid.
- 25:27Speaker 1: And that's okay, bro, that's okay. It's like it's like
- 25:30Speaker 1: people like man, you like, yeah, you gotta there's we're
- 25:34Speaker 1: all selfish. We're all selfish human beings, man, all of us.
- 25:38Speaker 1: We're all in our own world. We're all in our
- 25:39Speaker 1: own ego. We all want the ship to work out
- 25:41Speaker 1: our way. And when you do have a kid, like,
- 25:45Speaker 1: it's it's over your selfishness. Your selfishness is now you
- 25:50Speaker 1: have to pick your shots and windows. You have to
- 25:52Speaker 1: plan and organize. That's the one area where we've my
- 25:56Speaker 1: wife and I we've we've gotten a.
- 25:57Speaker 2: Lot better at is.
- 25:58Speaker 1: It's like utilizing calendar, which has been a learning curve
- 26:02Speaker 1: for your boy, but utilizing the calendar planning ahead, communicating
- 26:06Speaker 1: at all times. It's like this morning, I was like,
- 26:08Speaker 1: oh fuck, I saw in the calendar that we were
- 26:10Speaker 1: supposed to shot the intro ten And I'm sitting here like, hey,
- 26:12Speaker 1: I'll be in before a little bit before eleven. When
- 26:14Speaker 1: it's like Charles's flight got canceled and comes to Monday,
- 26:19Speaker 1: and now it's gonna get canceled till Tuesday. It's like, man,
- 26:21Speaker 1: I gotta remember to hit up the boys and let
- 26:23Speaker 1: him know whenever flights get canceled. I'm not gonna have that.
- 26:26Speaker 1: I can't get up at six to work out. I
- 26:28Speaker 1: have to wait. I have to wait until our babysitter
- 26:29Speaker 1: gets there, our nanny gets there at seven thirty, so
- 26:32Speaker 1: then I can go work out and then get all
- 26:34Speaker 1: that stuff in. But yeah, bro, trying to plan out
- 26:36Speaker 1: your selfishness throughout the week and the weekend.
- 26:39Speaker 4: It doesn't stop, like it's just never.
- 26:44Speaker 2: The key is.
- 26:44Speaker 4: Routine, Jack, And you'll know this when you're when you
- 26:47Speaker 4: become a parent.
- 26:47Speaker 1: I'm already becoming one of those older motherfuckers like, here's
- 26:50Speaker 1: the key, here's how you do it.
- 26:52Speaker 5: I'm not ready to be selfless for someone else. I
- 26:55Speaker 5: can be selfless, but not enough to bring someone into
- 26:59Speaker 5: the world.
- 27:00Speaker 2: Yeah, you lose it. You lose it.
- 27:02Speaker 5: Man.
- 27:02Speaker 4: You realize like you have to prioritize other ship. If not,
- 27:07Speaker 4: they'll be there'll.
- 27:09Speaker 1: Be some some lows somewhere, you know what I mean.
- 27:13Speaker 1: Like you might want your couple hours of freedom, but
- 27:15Speaker 1: it's got to be like structured out in a way
- 27:17Speaker 1: where I don't know. That's why I sneak off and
- 27:19Speaker 1: stay at the bus, tell about fucking as long as
- 27:21Speaker 1: I can. Then you go home, then you do the
- 27:24Speaker 1: then you do the dad thing until you put them down.
- 27:26Speaker 1: And then when you put them down, it's like you
- 27:27Speaker 1: got a decision to make to I want to separate
- 27:29Speaker 1: and go watch TV on my own and kind of
- 27:31Speaker 1: like beating myself, or do you build the relationship with
- 27:34Speaker 1: the wife, because then that's that's those are the times
- 27:36Speaker 1: where you get with the wife. Then you wake up
- 27:38Speaker 1: and you do it all over again. But yeah, bro,
- 27:41Speaker 1: you you kind of lose that. That's why it's uh
- 27:43Speaker 1: when you get to sleep in and get to kind
- 27:45Speaker 1: of like, oh man, I'm glad like a ruse being
- 27:47Speaker 1: cool and just kind of hanging in her care carib
- 27:49Speaker 1: right now, like she's having a good time with her
- 27:51Speaker 1: tiger and lion and stuffed animals in there.
- 27:55Speaker 2: That you get that selfishness a little bit back when
- 27:59Speaker 2: you probably do again like.
- 28:03Speaker 1: That, like yeah, listen listening to my boys who have
- 28:06Speaker 1: like older kids, man, Like you're going to soccer games
- 28:08Speaker 1: like your weekends are around them.
- 28:11Speaker 5: I mean I remember growing up playing like travel basketball
- 28:14Speaker 5: and like all the sports. And I have three other siblings,
- 28:17Speaker 5: so like my parents' lives were our lives.
- 28:20Speaker 6: They weren't their lives.
- 28:21Speaker 5: It was them taking us to practice and going to
- 28:24Speaker 5: extra like curricular school stuff. You know, making lunches is
- 28:28Speaker 5: just yeah, it doesn't stop it.
- 28:30Speaker 1: Making Man, you're so right, bro, Like yeah, like that's
- 28:33Speaker 1: you look back and you realize how much like your
- 28:35Speaker 1: parents actually do for you, or if money gets tight,
- 28:38Speaker 1: how you're now with a different family going to that
- 28:40Speaker 1: traveling going to that traveling tournament, staying with your buddy
- 28:44Speaker 1: thinking it's awesome. But now when you get older, you realize,
- 28:47Speaker 1: like all the sacrifices like your parents make just so
- 28:49Speaker 1: you can have a childhood like that to go to
- 28:51Speaker 1: all the games and go to all the weekends and
- 28:53Speaker 1: everything else. It's like in the future, you know, knock on,
- 28:56Speaker 1: way we keep this thing going and float and ascending,
- 28:58Speaker 1: like you're gonna have to play, Oh the soccer teraments
- 29:01Speaker 1: this weekend. You got this this weekend. Maybe dance this weekend.
- 29:04Speaker 1: Who knows what they're gonna be into. Maybe debate. We
- 29:07Speaker 1: got a little debate match up this weekend, four years
- 29:09Speaker 1: older on the debate team or some shit. But you
- 29:12Speaker 1: never know how it's gonna change. Man, It's just like
- 29:14Speaker 1: you're just in it. A lot of highs, a lot
- 29:16Speaker 1: of like, oh fuck, I gotta kind of like let
- 29:18Speaker 1: this go. I gotta I gotta like reprogram my brain
- 29:21Speaker 1: to think a little bit differently, because if you think
- 29:23Speaker 1: too much like selfishly, you're just gonna get pissed off
- 29:26Speaker 1: at everything else. Yeah, exactly, just mad like man, yeah,
- 29:34Speaker 1: oh fuck man.
- 29:36Speaker 6: Twisty Question of the week.
- 29:38Speaker 4: Oh, we want to get into the twisted question.
- 29:39Speaker 1: We got a twist the question before we get into
- 29:41Speaker 1: the Twisted Question, presented by old Mitch Carsley back there.
- 29:45Speaker 1: Twisted Question is brought to you by Twisted Tea the
- 29:48Speaker 1: smoothest hard iced tea out there. Perfect for pool parties. Now,
- 29:51Speaker 1: I'm gonna say this, perfect for tailgates. Tailgating season is coming, boys,
- 29:56Speaker 1: Load yourself up with twisted tea. Twist the tea lights
- 29:59Speaker 1: for people like, oh, there's a lot of sugar, a
- 30:01Speaker 1: lot of carbs and everything else. Twist the tea light
- 30:03Speaker 1: is a nice little substitute to enjoy refreshing ice tea
- 30:08Speaker 1: with some twists in there, with a little bit of kick,
- 30:10Speaker 1: five percent ABV, natural and casual. It's your favorite parts
- 30:14Speaker 1: about twisted tea, and that is the beverage itself, a
- 30:16Speaker 1: nice ice cold twisted tea, and also the camaraderie that
- 30:19Speaker 1: you have at these tailgates. But grab a refreshing twisted
- 30:22Speaker 1: tea today. You can pretty much find it everywhere. Go
- 30:24Speaker 1: support the boys, go hard, go twisted, you know what
- 30:28Speaker 1: I'm saying. But light goes one way, twist the tea
- 30:30Speaker 1: goes the other. They're fucking representing the boys. So go ahead,
- 30:34Speaker 1: grab yourself a twisted the tea anywhere today. But this
- 30:36Speaker 1: twisted question, jacket or not, Jack Mitch, give it to us.
- 30:40Speaker 3: All right, so we cat we have two that we
- 30:42Speaker 3: can do here and we can pick which one we want. Okay,
- 30:47Speaker 3: first one, would you rather the ability to change the
- 30:50Speaker 3: past or see into the future?
- 30:53Speaker 2: Have only done one like that before? Okay? To me?
- 30:57Speaker 2: It be to me it'd be changed the past. Would
- 30:59Speaker 2: you either it be summer forever or winter forever? Oh?
- 31:05Speaker 3: I mean, and I said, I said for something. This
- 31:09Speaker 3: was more for like me. If you wanted it to
- 31:11Speaker 3: be fall forever or spring forever, we could do whatever one.
- 31:15Speaker 6: I think maybe fall in winter and spring and summer together.
- 31:19Speaker 6: I don't know. That's tough. That's so tough.
- 31:26Speaker 4: I think you have to do summer right.
- 31:32Speaker 6: No more football ever?
- 31:35Speaker 2: Why there's football? There's what do you know?
- 31:37Speaker 1: You're saying, like you get the phone. Oh you're saying
- 31:40Speaker 1: you get the months with it, like you only get
- 31:42Speaker 1: Are you just saying?
- 31:43Speaker 5: Well, yeah, I think that's the case. Like it's so
- 31:45Speaker 5: you only get what like the weather. It's not like
- 31:47Speaker 5: it's hot all year as cold a year.
- 31:49Speaker 6: It's like you get the.
- 31:50Speaker 4: End of November until what the beginning of March.
- 31:53Speaker 6: Yeah, that seems fair.
- 31:56Speaker 1: Or you get from like is it May to August, June, July, August,
- 32:05Speaker 1: one of the end of May, end of May, the
- 32:07Speaker 1: beginning of August.
- 32:08Speaker 2: For what summer summer. Yeah, summer really goes into like September.
- 32:14Speaker 2: My birthday's first day summer. When's your birthday?
- 32:17Speaker 4: June twenty first, that's the first day of summer.
- 32:20Speaker 2: That's no, that's bullshit.
- 32:22Speaker 4: First day of summer is first day.
- 32:25Speaker 5: No.
- 32:25Speaker 1: I believe that the fucking internet might say that the
- 32:29Speaker 1: first day of summer is June twenty first, but the.
- 32:31Speaker 4: First day of summer it is no later than June first.
- 32:36Speaker 1: I could argue some of the back half of some
- 32:38Speaker 1: of the back part of May, like whenever school is out,
- 32:40Speaker 1: summer summer is here.
- 32:41Speaker 6: I would agree that those first few weeks.
- 32:44Speaker 1: Of June, let's just say summer is officially now June first.
- 32:48Speaker 2: You're just saying like when it gets warm or no.
- 32:51Speaker 1: I'm just saying like that's just what it is. Sure, well,
- 32:57Speaker 1: I I yeah, I guess you got. I mean, if
- 32:59Speaker 1: it's if it's only the months I'm gonna go winter
- 33:01Speaker 1: then because you get football, I personally, I'm more of
- 33:04Speaker 1: a I would rather play in the in the cold
- 33:07Speaker 1: than play in the heat. I would rather be cold
- 33:09Speaker 1: than be hot, because I get extremely like I can
- 33:14Speaker 1: just get too antsy man, Like you can layer up
- 33:16Speaker 1: in the cold.
- 33:17Speaker 3: I think it's easy. It's easier to warm up than
- 33:20Speaker 3: it is to cold cool down. Yeah, you can always
- 33:23Speaker 3: put extra blankets on, extra sweatshirt, sweatpants, but you cannot
- 33:28Speaker 3: like once you like are in shorts and a T shirt.
- 33:31Speaker 3: Like you can just take your clothes off, but you
- 33:32Speaker 3: can still be hot with your clothes off.
- 33:34Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 33:35Speaker 4: Yeah, I'm gonna go ahead and say winter.
- 33:37Speaker 1: I'm gonna say winter, holiday season, playoff, football, super bowls,
- 33:44Speaker 1: still in still in the winter. You know what I'm saying,
- 33:48Speaker 1: What else do you need? But what else do you need?
- 33:51Speaker 1: I mean, that's the that's like the most uh. I
- 33:56Speaker 1: feel like when you have the most perspective, when you
- 33:58Speaker 1: have the most gratitude is when you're in holid season, enjoin.
- 34:01Speaker 2: The people you love.
- 34:02Speaker 1: Like, yeah it's a little cold outside, Yeah the winner
- 34:04Speaker 1: can be a little shitty, But I think that that's
- 34:08Speaker 1: what creates the mentality.
- 34:10Speaker 2: I'm with you. I agree, Sam, we're all going winter. Yeah,
- 34:15Speaker 2: you need to find another one where we disagree here, No,
- 34:18Speaker 2: I think that one solid.
- 34:19Speaker 1: I think people I think people think we're crazy for
- 34:21Speaker 1: doing winter. It actually reminds me of this poem I
- 34:23Speaker 1: was reading earlier. Let's see here. This poem is brought
- 34:28Speaker 1: to us by UH. Was shared by Brian Peters, a
- 34:31Speaker 1: great follow on Twitter Brian underscore Peters ten. But it's
- 34:34Speaker 1: a poem called good Timber by Douglas Malik. Listen to
- 34:39Speaker 1: this one, boys. The tree that never had to fight
- 34:44Speaker 1: for sun and sky and air and light, but stood
- 34:49Speaker 1: out in the open plane and always got its share
- 34:52Speaker 1: of rain, never became a forest king, but lived and
- 34:57Speaker 1: died a scrubby thing. The man who never had to
- 35:02Speaker 1: toil to gain and farm his patch of soil, who
- 35:06Speaker 1: never had to win his share of sun and sky
- 35:11Speaker 1: and light and air, never became a manly man, but
- 35:15Speaker 1: lived and died as he began. Good timber does not
- 35:20Speaker 1: grow with ease. The stronger wind, the stronger trees, the
- 35:25Speaker 1: further sky, the greater length, the more the storm, the
- 35:31Speaker 1: more the strength by sun and cold, by rain and snow.
- 35:36Speaker 1: In trees and men, good timbers grow where thickest lies
- 35:41Speaker 1: the forest growth. We find the patriarchs of both, and
- 35:48Speaker 1: they hold council with the stars, whose broken branches show
- 35:53Speaker 1: the scars of many winds and much of strife. This
- 35:59Speaker 1: is the them and law of life? Does that not.
- 36:06Speaker 2: Juice you up? You were speaking right there.
- 36:09Speaker 4: That's Douglas Mallick dude. Shared by Brian Peters, now shared
- 36:12Speaker 4: by Will Compton on Busting with the Boys. That's a
- 36:15Speaker 4: good poem. That's a good poem to have.
- 36:18Speaker 1: That shows you're built in a winner, You're built in
- 36:21Speaker 1: the trials and tribulations of life. You feel me, jack,
- 36:25Speaker 1: That right there doesn't get it get you excited for
- 36:26Speaker 1: gambling this fall? If that right there doesn't get you
- 36:31Speaker 1: ready to fail miserably on a parlay and a lot
- 36:33Speaker 1: of bets. Only just read that poem and come back
- 36:35Speaker 1: the next week ready to swing. Time to set sail, boys,
- 36:42Speaker 1: Time to set sail before we do as we set sail,
- 36:45Speaker 1: Set sail with some fucking whiskey that makes you feel
- 36:48Speaker 1: like a man, That makes you feel like those timber
- 36:50Speaker 1: trees standing strong, standing tall.
- 36:53Speaker 4: We got a few bottles right here.
- 36:54Speaker 2: One.
- 36:55Speaker 1: They're known for their Rye whiskey. Whistle Pig is one
- 36:58Speaker 1: of the most credible, probably believe, the most credible rye
- 37:01Speaker 1: whiskey brand in all of the fucking land out in
- 37:04Speaker 1: the mountains of Vermont. They craft an incredible rye whiskey.
- 37:09Speaker 1: They're known for their sixth year, which we have right here.
- 37:11Speaker 1: That's their most popular, best price point, flies off the shelves,
- 37:16Speaker 1: But some of their hitters. I'm holding their ten year phenomenal,
- 37:20Speaker 1: phenomenal ride by the way.
- 37:22Speaker 4: But their twelve year might be my personal favorite.
- 37:25Speaker 1: Now, if you have the you have the wallet to
- 37:27Speaker 1: get yourself the uh the boss hogs of the world,
- 37:30Speaker 1: go ahead and dive yourself in there. Uh, but we
- 37:33Speaker 1: also have a whistle pig. Wanted to do a bourbon whiskey.
- 37:37Speaker 1: They chose Busting with the Boys is one of their
- 37:40Speaker 1: only maybe their only brand to uh do a bourbon with.
- 37:44Speaker 1: They made a bourbon on their own and then they
- 37:45Speaker 1: had Bust with the Boys make a bourbon on our own. Um,
- 37:49Speaker 1: you're gonna taste some sweet, some some heat up front.
- 37:51Speaker 1: You're gonna smell a little bit of caramel. You're gonna
- 37:53Speaker 1: taste a little little bit of that black pepper heat
- 37:55Speaker 1: right at the very tip top of your throat when
- 37:57Speaker 1: you're about to swallow to where you're a little scared.
- 37:59Speaker 4: You're a little nervous walking into the cave.
- 38:01Speaker 1: However, as it goes down your throat, picture yourself in
- 38:03Speaker 1: the backyard on a fall autumn day, the football game's
- 38:06Speaker 1: about to kick off in noon, and you're swinging in
- 38:09Speaker 1: a hammock in the backyard. That's how it goes down
- 38:11Speaker 1: your throat. Smooth, soft, easy, and it's just warmly on
- 38:15Speaker 1: the very tip top of your gut. You can find
- 38:17Speaker 1: this whistle Pig whiskey, especially our bourbon, as you see
- 38:20Speaker 1: with the sticker up top here. You can find our
- 38:23Speaker 1: bourbon sold at any whistle Pig retailer. Wherever you get
- 38:26Speaker 1: your whistle Pig, call up your local retailer, ask if
- 38:29Speaker 1: they have the bustle with the boys.
- 38:30Speaker 4: Bourbon, Say you want ten of them, and then go
- 38:32Speaker 4: pick it up.
- 38:33Speaker 1: But go ahead and grab yourself a bottle of whistle
- 38:35Speaker 1: Pig whiskey and kick your kiss, your work day, goodbye
- 38:38Speaker 1: this summer this fall, and kick it off with a
- 38:41Speaker 1: ride ay. Kick it off with the ride ay and
- 38:42Speaker 1: a little bit of bourbon with the boys. That was
- 38:47Speaker 1: a smooth That was a smooth little adver read for
- 38:50Speaker 1: the boys. For whistle Pig Man, they should definitely clip
- 38:53Speaker 1: that and use it as like they're opening video on
- 38:55Speaker 1: their website. Should we do a tier talk? I thought
- 39:00Speaker 1: I thought of a fun little tiar talk. Are we
- 39:02Speaker 1: able to do a tiar talk? Best things about August?
- 39:07Speaker 1: We're in the months of August. There's a lot of fomo.
- 39:09Speaker 1: You see all the football clips going on and everything else,
- 39:12Speaker 1: and there's a little bit of fomo about like getting
- 39:15Speaker 1: involved more with August. I feel like the first day
- 39:18Speaker 1: at school, So I mean, you're picking your first outfit
- 39:20Speaker 1: to go back, Like you can feel the energy of
- 39:22Speaker 1: football season in school coming and that spirit is in
- 39:25Speaker 1: the air. And what better way to kick it off
- 39:28Speaker 1: than to talk about some of our favorite things about
- 39:30Speaker 1: the month of August. I fucked the god here, dude,
- 39:38Speaker 1: fuck the gods. Let's make it about us. What we
- 39:44Speaker 1: got to here be football comes back. I mean that
- 39:49Speaker 1: is God's here, all right, God to your football comes back.
- 39:56Speaker 2: Mitch, you go ahead with your tier talk. I get
- 39:59Speaker 2: a couple of seconds, or now, sure you get a
- 40:01Speaker 2: couple of seconds. Let me.
- 40:03Speaker 1: I'll go ahead and get in online. Favorite things about
- 40:07Speaker 1: August football being back is on my list.
- 40:14Speaker 2: That's all that really matters.
- 40:18Speaker 1: Favorite things about August. My my Tier three is gonna
- 40:25Speaker 1: be specific Nebraska football coming back. You know the boys
- 40:34Speaker 1: are in training camp right now. They just unveiled their
- 40:37Speaker 1: new locker room. Their new facilities are getting put together.
- 40:41Speaker 1: The boys have some rule aid, they have some momentum
- 40:43Speaker 1: going into the season, and you feel it every year
- 40:46Speaker 1: with Nebraska football. You know the farm owners they're ready
- 40:50Speaker 1: to come to the facilities and cook their fucking wagu
- 40:53Speaker 1: steaks and their thick ribbies for the boys.
- 40:56Speaker 2: Like, hey, after practice, we'll cook.
- 40:57Speaker 1: We'll be outside and you're having that tomahawk and eating
- 41:01Speaker 1: it off the bone with the bone in your hand,
- 41:03Speaker 1: and you just know that Nebraska football's coming back. That's
- 41:06Speaker 1: my tier three, is that little tickle about Nebraska football.
- 41:10Speaker 1: My tier two is gonna be prepping for that fantasy
- 41:14Speaker 1: football team. The group chats are starting up again for
- 41:18Speaker 1: fantasy football. The shit talkins in the air. The whoever
- 41:22Speaker 1: won were last year, their shit still doesn't stink. They
- 41:25Speaker 1: can talk down to everybody else, the ones who suck,
- 41:28Speaker 1: the one who's got to I think the loser of
- 41:30Speaker 1: our the loser of our fantasy league this year is
- 41:33Speaker 1: going to have to sit at a restaurant with a
- 41:35Speaker 1: blow up doll, with the sex doll. And I'm trying
- 41:38Speaker 1: to get in the stipulation that it has to be
- 41:41Speaker 1: on Instagram Live. But my Tier two is gonna be
- 41:46Speaker 1: prepping for that fantasy football draft. There's nothing like like
- 41:49Speaker 1: getting ready seeing what's happening in the preseason, seeing what
- 41:51Speaker 1: guys you're gonna pick up. When I was in the
- 41:53Speaker 1: trenches with the boys, I'd go up to, you know,
- 41:56Speaker 1: the Derrick Henry's of the world.
- 41:57Speaker 2: Hey, where we at? Like, how you feeling about.
- 42:00Speaker 1: You're gonna get the rock twenty to thirty times a
- 42:01Speaker 1: game again this season, you think, because I'm thinking about
- 42:04Speaker 1: taking you one overall.
- 42:05Speaker 4: Hey, Christian McCaffrey, Well, how's the body feeling?
- 42:08Speaker 2: Up and down? Up and down?
- 42:09Speaker 1: Years put together a hell of a year last year,
- 42:12Speaker 1: and your boy took him first overall, Christian McCaffrey, and
- 42:14Speaker 1: it fucking paid off. My Tier one, My Tier one.
- 42:24Speaker 1: Here in the pads popping, here in the pads popping. Yeah,
- 42:29Speaker 1: Football's back. Football's back is God teer, but specifically the
- 42:33Speaker 1: sounds of football. When you hear the pads popping, the
- 42:37Speaker 1: pads come on, the shoulder pads come on for the
- 42:40Speaker 1: first time, and you start hearing it.
- 42:42Speaker 4: You start hearing the boys.
- 42:45Speaker 1: Kissing throughout the country, laying the wood, knocking, somebody's dick
- 42:50Speaker 1: in the dirt. Some no name comes out of nowhere,
- 42:53Speaker 1: kenne Vacaro. He was on the He was on the street,
- 42:56Speaker 1: as you would like to say, when he got either
- 42:59Speaker 1: cut or whatever from the New Orleans Saints, was waiting
- 43:01Speaker 1: for an opportunity. He had to sign a minimum deal
- 43:04Speaker 1: with the Tennessee Titans. Comes to the Titans, comes to
- 43:08Speaker 1: the Titans. Middle of camp. I want to say he
- 43:11Speaker 1: was running with the second team, third team. Don't fucking remember,
- 43:14Speaker 1: but all I do know this, the motherfucker laid the
- 43:16Speaker 1: wood on somebody to set the tone his first day
- 43:20Speaker 1: out in pads. That led to him obviously taking over
- 43:23Speaker 1: the reins, being the starting safety for a couple of years,
- 43:25Speaker 1: and then re up into a big deal. But took
- 43:27Speaker 1: advantage of an opportunity coming back in. But it all
- 43:29Speaker 1: started when he came to camp on a minimum deal
- 43:33Speaker 1: and laid the fucking pike to somebody.
- 43:36Speaker 4: No, homo, actually you know what. No pause, But that's
- 43:39Speaker 4: my tier one.
- 43:40Speaker 1: When you start hearing the pads pop, it gets you
- 43:42Speaker 1: a little giddy inside, It gets the blood flow below
- 43:45Speaker 1: the belt.
- 43:45Speaker 2: That's my tier one. That is my tier talk. I'll
- 43:48Speaker 2: be doing a one word yeah, go ahead, football.
- 43:51Speaker 1: Hard, one word, boner, legendary. All right, go ahead, Mitchell Jack.
- 43:59Speaker 2: I got it.
- 44:02Speaker 3: I'm gonna not revolve everything around football like you did. Uh,
- 44:07Speaker 3: not a football guy. I mean it is, but it's
- 44:10Speaker 3: got to. I mean it's football. Is everything that you
- 44:14Speaker 3: just said, fantasy football, pats popping, Nebraska football, it's all.
- 44:19Speaker 2: It's all the same thing. I'm right there with you.
- 44:21Speaker 2: I'm getting juiced up too. But my Tier three.
- 44:25Speaker 3: The reason it's Tier three, it's because it kind of sucks,
- 44:28Speaker 3: but like a part of it makes you sort of
- 44:30Speaker 3: excited a little bit. But school's back like being able
- 44:34Speaker 3: to Yeah, it sucks going to school. It sucks doing
- 44:36Speaker 3: your homework and sitting in class, so you really don't
- 44:39Speaker 3: give a shit about But you're kind of like back
- 44:42Speaker 3: with your boys, sort of back at the cafeteria table back,
- 44:46Speaker 3: just like messing around in the parking lot after school.
- 44:49Speaker 4: You're just back with your boys, just chasing tail.
- 44:52Speaker 2: Yes, and that's being.
- 44:54Speaker 1: Too nervous to actually chase it for real, telling your
- 44:56Speaker 1: boys your yeah, yeah, don't do that, don't yeah.
- 45:01Speaker 3: My my tier two this is dependent on where you
- 45:06Speaker 3: grew up. Like some parts of the country might be
- 45:09Speaker 3: a little bit different, but like the weather starts to
- 45:12Speaker 3: sort of change, Like you'll get that little like that
- 45:14Speaker 3: little tease in August where it's like it's like seventy
- 45:18Speaker 3: five in the mid afternoon, like one of them good days.
- 45:20Speaker 2: It's like up in Pa.
- 45:21Speaker 3: You'll get that every every now and then, like maybe
- 45:24Speaker 3: you start seeing like that one tree that's a little older,
- 45:26Speaker 3: a little weaker, it starts to change its colors a
- 45:28Speaker 3: little earlier, Like you start to get that that fall vibe.
- 45:31Speaker 3: It's hey, it's it's coming, it's here, and my tier one.
- 45:36Speaker 3: I guess this sort of has to do with football,
- 45:38Speaker 3: but it's those summer workouts with your team, with your
- 45:42Speaker 3: with this squad you're going in football season with just
- 45:44Speaker 3: be like.
- 45:45Speaker 2: Hey, it's here, we're about it. We're about to do
- 45:49Speaker 2: this thing. It's our year. Beginning of the season, during
- 45:52Speaker 2: the summer workouts, you've been seeing how much work you've
- 45:53Speaker 2: been putting in, Like we're going undefeated this year. We're
- 45:57Speaker 2: in prs. You're in them prs have weight, just light weight,
- 46:03Speaker 2: doing your thing.
- 46:05Speaker 3: Just with that with it being in the air and
- 46:07Speaker 3: just being so close you can almost taste it. It's
- 46:10Speaker 3: it makes those workouts a little bit easier. It's my
- 46:13Speaker 3: tier one.
- 46:14Speaker 2: That's solid, very solid.
- 46:22Speaker 1: You know, you know, Mitch's one of them kids too.
- 46:24Speaker 1: Who took the picture serious?
- 46:25Speaker 2: Oh for sure, mild good like took the photo serious,
- 46:35Speaker 2: h my tiar talk.
- 46:37Speaker 5: Number three is coming in is just back to school,
- 46:40Speaker 5: and it relates for adults and kids in school, because
- 46:43Speaker 5: I remember, you go all summer long, like in high
- 46:46Speaker 5: school or middle school or whatever, and you're actually pretty
- 46:48Speaker 5: excited for that first week back, see a lot of
- 46:50Speaker 5: the old friends, kind of show off.
- 46:52Speaker 6: Some new shoes or new shirt, whatever it may be.
- 46:55Speaker 5: And then also if you're on the opposite side of
- 46:56Speaker 5: it as an adult parent kid or or someone without kids,
- 47:02Speaker 5: one your kids are back in school, more time for you,
- 47:05Speaker 5: or just like normal places where kids are being you know,
- 47:09Speaker 5: out of control, whether it's like a public pool or
- 47:12Speaker 5: the gym, they are now subjected to school, so they're
- 47:15Speaker 5: no longer in the free world. Yeah, kind of get
- 47:18Speaker 5: them out of the way, so it's kind of like
- 47:19Speaker 5: a nice deal for both of them.
- 47:21Speaker 2: Back to school.
- 47:23Speaker 5: Number two is probably gonna be Friday night Lights. It's
- 47:29Speaker 5: like the first month where high school football comes back
- 47:31Speaker 5: and where I grew up. I was really close to
- 47:34Speaker 5: Brentwood Academy. I didn't go there, but I lived a
- 47:38Speaker 5: street over, so every Friday night when they had a
- 47:40Speaker 5: home game, you'd see the lights getting fired up. You're
- 47:42Speaker 5: the announcers on it, and then like you could just
- 47:45Speaker 5: like feel the energy of the crowd from a few
- 47:47Speaker 5: streets away. And that's kind of like the first moment
- 47:50Speaker 5: where I feel like fall is starting to like break.
- 47:53Speaker 5: So whether it's football or Friday night lights, it's kind
- 47:56Speaker 5: of all encompassing. And I think number one for me,
- 48:03Speaker 5: I don't want to like pick yock years, but it's
- 48:05Speaker 5: my favorite time of year.
- 48:06Speaker 2: It's fantasy.
- 48:07Speaker 5: Like my boys and me like take our fantasy league
- 48:10Speaker 5: extremely serious. Our commissioner does like seven or eight different
- 48:17Speaker 5: polls so that we can really figure out what we
- 48:19Speaker 5: want for our league this year.
- 48:21Speaker 6: And we just finished up our last one.
- 48:23Speaker 5: And I think our draft is like the first week
- 48:26Speaker 5: of or maybe like Labor Day weekends, like a week
- 48:30Speaker 5: before football actually starts. So yeah, it's like the first
- 48:33Speaker 5: time when you're really starting to like, no, the football
- 48:37Speaker 5: is making a return. You've got a chance to take
- 48:40Speaker 5: another run at a championship. You gotta start dialing in.
- 48:43Speaker 5: You start hitting the forums, really doing your research. So
- 48:47Speaker 5: it's just like a really good time of year where
- 48:49Speaker 5: things start pushing away from hot weather, away from summer
- 48:53Speaker 5: into a more structured.
- 48:55Speaker 2: Friday night light.
- 48:56Speaker 6: It's football time of year.
- 48:58Speaker 2: So that is me solid. Nice.
- 49:12Speaker 1: Did you we get a speaking on fantasy football? Should
- 49:15Speaker 1: we do a bust with the boys league?
- 49:16Speaker 5: I was just gonna mention that after this, So I
- 49:19Speaker 5: think so, And I'm willing to like set it up
- 49:21Speaker 5: for us and we can just have like pretty standard
- 49:23Speaker 5: rules and if we.
- 49:25Speaker 6: Want to get three other people, how many we have
- 49:27Speaker 6: seven it would be here.
- 49:29Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah, we get clumbs.
- 49:31Speaker 5: So we get to add in like two more people
- 49:33Speaker 5: and make it a ten man league to like standard
- 49:37Speaker 5: PPR snake draft. I mean, unless anyone else wants to
- 49:41Speaker 5: do other styles of draft.
- 49:43Speaker 6: That's my method.
- 49:44Speaker 2: Yeah, I like that. I like that as well.
- 49:47Speaker 6: No, like defensive however.
- 49:49Speaker 1: We we boosted the defensive stats a little bit, okay,
- 49:52Speaker 1: to give defense more of a rule like that in
- 49:55Speaker 1: uh in fantasy.
- 49:57Speaker 5: But yeah, I know we tried to do that last
- 49:59Speaker 5: year and I think it just kind of got away
- 50:01Speaker 5: from us and the season started and we're like, okay,
- 50:03Speaker 5: maybe next year.
- 50:04Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, you're right, You're right about that.
- 50:06Speaker 5: Down to to get one organized and get us all
- 50:09Speaker 5: in like a draft here in the next few weeks.
- 50:11Speaker 2: We should do that.
- 50:11Speaker 6: It'd be a great thing to.
- 50:13Speaker 5: Like just have like a ten minute segment what we're doing,
- 50:16Speaker 5: and we can do like a funny punishment, Yeah, a
- 50:19Speaker 5: loser that people are gonna obviously want to watch.
- 50:22Speaker 3: I was thinking, like, one, it could be like a
- 50:24Speaker 3: little segment we do on the show and like kind
- 50:27Speaker 3: of something for the people to keep up with, but
- 50:28Speaker 3: also like we have that punishment at the end of
- 50:31Speaker 3: the year.
- 50:31Speaker 2: Like, yeah, what's the punishment going to be? I can't.
- 50:35Speaker 2: I said something like you gotta go bald, but the
- 50:41Speaker 2: loser should have to transition to the other sex. I mean,
- 50:44Speaker 2: that's that's it.
- 50:47Speaker 6: I mentioned this in my fantasy up.
- 50:49Speaker 5: I mean this year is that you had to drive
- 50:51Speaker 5: to Mount Rushmore and take a selfie and drive back,
- 50:55Speaker 5: which just the thirty six hour commute there and back.
- 51:01Speaker 4: How would you know that somebody wouldn't just buy a flight.
- 51:05Speaker 5: Oh, we'd like have to get like an update like
- 51:07Speaker 5: every hour on the road, like you in the car.
- 51:09Speaker 6: So like, yeah, we wouldn't. We wouldn't let someone get away.
- 51:12Speaker 2: It could be fun.
- 51:13Speaker 1: That's better than probably, you know, right, Your last thing
- 51:22Speaker 1: we need is to get get caught at having things
- 51:26Speaker 1: around what they do. You see the people, like some
- 51:29Speaker 1: of their fans sometimes come after us, and I'll just
- 51:30Speaker 1: be like surprised, like I didn't I didn't know, but
- 51:33Speaker 1: maybe in the subconscious mind I saw it somewhere, you
- 51:35Speaker 1: know what I mean, Like you just saying.
- 51:38Speaker 2: Like we do the exact same thing. Part of my take.
- 51:41Speaker 5: Maybe comments on the YouTube ooh yeah, yeah, if you're on,
- 51:46Speaker 5: if you're watching right now, leave a good comment on
- 51:48Speaker 5: what the punishment should be if you lose, you get
- 51:51Speaker 5: last place.
- 51:51Speaker 2: In our fantasy football league.
- 51:53Speaker 1: All right, let's get into our Let's get into our
- 51:55Speaker 1: last segment before we start getting into the uh the
- 51:58Speaker 1: interviews with the Chargers. This segment is brought to you
- 52:02Speaker 1: by Dude Wipes. The Shittiest Moment segment. Still using toilet paper,
- 52:06Speaker 1: drop the TP and pick up Dude Wipes the wet
- 52:08Speaker 1: extra large flushbowl wipe that clears instead of smears. Wiping
- 52:13Speaker 1: wet just cleans better than wiping dry. Get confidently clean
- 52:17Speaker 1: with Dude Wipes that gets all the crap toilet paper
- 52:20Speaker 1: left behind.
- 52:22Speaker 5: Um.
- 52:23Speaker 1: You can pick up Due wipes on Amazon or Target
- 52:25Speaker 1: or Walmart nationwide.
- 52:28Speaker 4: Dude Wipes is pivotal here.
- 52:30Speaker 2: Boy.
- 52:31Speaker 1: You know, you get in there and you hit that
- 52:32Speaker 1: sandpaper effect. Some little Dingleberry boys on the TP can
- 52:36Speaker 1: be in there. It can be mixed in those hairs,
- 52:38Speaker 1: especially when you shower and you feel the me you
- 52:39Speaker 1: peel them away and you're like, God, damn it, I
- 52:41Speaker 1: wish there s wooden stick to my hair. With dude wipes,
- 52:43Speaker 1: you don't get that shit. You don't get that lazy
- 52:46Speaker 1: TP that wants to sit behind in your ass crack,
- 52:48Speaker 1: hanging on, hanging out with the hair around your buttthole.
- 52:52Speaker 1: You need to get dude wipes to clean all of
- 52:54Speaker 1: it away. Then you can get a little sandpaper effect
- 52:56Speaker 1: and even maybe.
- 52:57Speaker 2: Go a little farther.
- 52:59Speaker 1: But the shittiest question, the shittiest moment, Let's go with
- 53:02Speaker 1: the worst parts of training camp. Let's go with the
- 53:06Speaker 1: worst parts of training camp. I wrote a few down
- 53:07Speaker 1: because I was thinking the other day. I was like, man,
- 53:09Speaker 1: because there's times where you're like mistraining camp. But then
- 53:12Speaker 1: you like try and remind yourself, like why you don't
- 53:15Speaker 1: miss training camp?
- 53:18Speaker 4: Shittiest parts of training camp. I'm gonna say.
- 53:23Speaker 1: Going live when you have live periods, when you're in
- 53:26Speaker 1: the thicket training camp and the coaches want like a
- 53:31Speaker 1: live period every day, the very first live might get
- 53:34Speaker 1: you a little spicy, get you a little sauce up,
- 53:36Speaker 1: especially if you're somebody trying to make the roster.
- 53:37Speaker 4: You're like, okay, let's fucking turn it up.
- 53:40Speaker 1: You go goal line live or something like that, although
- 53:42Speaker 1: goal line is fucking a blood bath at times, but
- 53:45Speaker 1: going live when your body is just it's like when
- 53:48Speaker 1: you wake up, when you wake up in bed, you
- 53:51Speaker 1: feel it in your feet, your ankles, your knees. You're
- 53:53Speaker 1: getting down, you're trying to do some movement, you're trying
- 53:55Speaker 1: to do some yoga, some stretches to get your blood
- 53:57Speaker 1: flown a little bit. You feel them is on your feet,
- 54:01Speaker 1: you feel them aches in your joints, and you're like
- 54:04Speaker 1: a man.
- 54:05Speaker 4: The last thing I want to do.
- 54:05Speaker 1: I hope coach doesn't call live period and it's hot
- 54:08Speaker 1: as fuck out there, and then live period gets called up,
- 54:11Speaker 1: like hey, I hear there's gonna be some live today.
- 54:13Speaker 1: The ones don't have to go, but the twos and
- 54:15Speaker 1: threes are gonna make you guys go live, like move
- 54:17Speaker 1: the ball the full field or a full period of live.
- 54:19Speaker 1: You're like in scrimmage and you're just like, man, fucking
- 54:22Speaker 1: for what that's one another one? Chafing if you're not
- 54:27Speaker 1: loaded up with that gold bond, dude, Chafing in camp
- 54:32Speaker 1: is the fucking worst because you're wearing like, you know, spandex,
- 54:36Speaker 1: You're wearing all that stuff, but at the tip top
- 54:38Speaker 1: of your thighs, man, your ass crack, you can start chafing.
- 54:40Speaker 1: And if you get in some bad chafing situation, which
- 54:43Speaker 1: I've been in before, it sucks.
- 54:46Speaker 2: It is the most uncomfortable. Shit.
- 54:48Speaker 1: You feel like a pussy because you're like you're kind
- 54:50Speaker 1: of like wading a little bit and you kind of
- 54:51Speaker 1: want to tell people, but you don't want to tell people.
- 54:54Speaker 1: Chafing sucks. And then the another shitty part, this is
- 54:58Speaker 1: probably the worst feeling, is when there starts to get
- 55:01Speaker 1: a rumor floated around that the second half of the
- 55:04Speaker 1: day is gonna get canceled or you're gonna have a
- 55:05Speaker 1: movie night, only to get in the mindset that you're.
- 55:10Speaker 4: You're not going to be on.
- 55:12Speaker 1: The field, like, oh hell yeah, this is coming at
- 55:15Speaker 1: the perfect time in camp. You start joking with your boys,
- 55:18Speaker 1: only to learn that nothing is canceled and you're going
- 55:21Speaker 1: out for that afternoon practice or.
- 55:24Speaker 2: Joke through, whatever it is.
- 55:27Speaker 1: And then you you also learn on top of that
- 55:29Speaker 1: you have to sit in meetings after that ship and
- 55:31Speaker 1: not even meetings are canceled.
- 55:33Speaker 4: But when you get pranked, you get you get.
- 55:36Speaker 1: Duped into thinking that it's a movie night or the
- 55:39Speaker 1: second half the day is canceled, and only for it
- 55:41Speaker 1: to be a rumor that really pisses you off.
- 55:44Speaker 2: It happened.
- 55:44Speaker 1: It happened when you were at the Titans where we
- 55:46Speaker 1: thought it was gonna be a movie night because we
- 55:47Speaker 1: would do movie nights in Washington. But that really pissed
- 55:53Speaker 1: me off. But those are probably the worst parts about
- 55:55Speaker 1: Those are the shittiest parts of training camp. Oh oh yeah,
- 56:00Speaker 1: for two minutes sucks for me. Granted I played D three,
- 56:04Speaker 1: so it's a lot different. But like when you we
- 56:07Speaker 1: would always be an offense.
- 56:08Speaker 3: Yeah, two minute on offense and we would always do
- 56:11Speaker 3: it first period of the day.
- 56:12Speaker 2: You're done stretching and stuff.
- 56:14Speaker 4: You're not two minutes to start practice.
- 56:15Speaker 2: Yeah, you're not even really ready to do anything. And
- 56:20Speaker 2: next thing.
- 56:20Speaker 3: You know, you're going down the field to too, like
- 56:23Speaker 3: and everybody knows like you're non stop running and as
- 56:26Speaker 3: a receiver, like you are cooked by like fifteen minutes
- 56:31Speaker 3: into practice.
- 56:31Speaker 1: And now you think, I think everybody hates practicing two
- 56:34Speaker 1: minutes do because you're right, I mean being it's like
- 56:36Speaker 1: I consider like, oh, being a white linebacker in.
- 56:38Speaker 4: Two minutes like that, you're you're not in a more.
- 56:40Speaker 1: Vulnerable spot, but being a receiver, and you got to
- 56:43Speaker 1: run fucking every route.
- 56:44Speaker 4: It's tempo, get on the ball, it's clock management.
- 56:48Speaker 1: The only one who can seem to enjoy it's probably
- 56:49Speaker 1: the fucking quarterback because we're always doing two minutes at
- 56:53Speaker 1: the end of practice, and you're nobody's wanted to do
- 56:56Speaker 1: two minutes after doing all those periods of everything else.
- 57:00Speaker 2: Dog rape.
- 57:03Speaker 1: Sometimes we do put the ball down, like right after stretch,
- 57:06Speaker 1: so you're not even any type of warmed up and
- 57:09Speaker 1: you're doing put the ball down, like put the ball down,
- 57:12Speaker 1: move the ball like competition out there, popping ready to go,
- 57:16Speaker 1: No individual nothing to really lub yourself up from outside
- 57:21Speaker 1: of the bullshit, bullshit calistenics.
- 57:22Speaker 2: You do in the in the warm up that competition stuff.
- 57:25Speaker 3: You're doing camp, though, did you guys ever do like
- 57:29Speaker 3: not necessarily one on ones, but we did this thing
- 57:32Speaker 3: called ten lines. You line up on the goal line
- 57:35Speaker 3: and you have like that rubber thing in between you,
- 57:37Speaker 3: and it's just mono y mono, just whoever can push
- 57:40Speaker 3: somebody back.
- 57:41Speaker 2: The first Oklahoma drill, like it.
- 57:42Speaker 3: Wasn't Oklahoma drill because it was just like you're lined
- 57:44Speaker 3: up like offensive defensive lineman. It's just like a blocking drill,
- 57:48Speaker 3: like you just literally just have to drive the other
- 57:49Speaker 3: person back.
- 57:50Speaker 4: We didn't do that in the in the NFL, but
- 57:52Speaker 4: we did.
- 57:53Speaker 1: Like the first two years in college at Nebraska, You're
- 57:55Speaker 1: standing around like, man, I hope coach don't put me
- 57:57Speaker 1: up against some motherfucker.
- 57:59Speaker 2: Now. The way we did it, like we would call
- 58:01Speaker 2: each other out like.
- 58:02Speaker 4: Nice, I like that, Like I immediately go after the kicker.
- 58:06Speaker 2: Like I we had your ass out here.
- 58:08Speaker 3: We had like an all American corner and everybody knew
- 58:11Speaker 3: it was me versus him. So like every single time
- 58:14Speaker 3: we did it, it was always him and I your
- 58:18Speaker 3: boy one.
- 58:19Speaker 2: A lot of the time.
- 58:20Speaker 4: You want that, dude, you know you're stronger than in
- 58:22Speaker 4: the weight room.
- 58:23Speaker 3: This dude was stronger than me and he's a beast
- 58:26Speaker 3: and he still is. But like, we just always got.
- 58:28Speaker 2: Him in the leverage game. Yeah, I love that. Get
- 58:31Speaker 2: under him, get fucking drive the pads. Yeah. Ah. Man.
- 58:37Speaker 4: Again, it's like the you miss it and then.
- 58:41Speaker 1: Some parts of you just don't miss all that physical
- 58:46Speaker 1: that physicality.
- 58:47Speaker 4: But football is just amazing.
- 58:49Speaker 2: Dude.
- 58:50Speaker 1: You're imposing your will on somebody else, and you're doing
- 58:54Speaker 1: it with a with a a group, you know what
- 58:58Speaker 1: I mean. Everybody's kind of got like a different role,
- 59:00Speaker 1: a different element, a different fit in the scheme.
- 59:04Speaker 4: You're all trying to kind of accomplish the same thing.
- 59:07Speaker 4: I fucking love it.
- 59:08Speaker 2: Man.
- 59:08Speaker 1: Let's get in these how long we been going an hour? Fuck,
- 59:13Speaker 1: let's get in these interviews. If you're new here, we
- 59:16Speaker 1: always do long ass. We call him intros. I don't
- 59:18Speaker 1: even know why we call him intros. This is just
- 59:20Speaker 1: the podcast. But again, if you've been sticking around, make
- 59:23Speaker 1: sure to subscribe, leave comments. Let's get into these interviews
- 59:27Speaker 1: with the Chargers, Keenan Allen, Mike Williams, Austin Eckler. Brought
- 59:32Speaker 1: to us by Paramount Plus. They are sponsoring They sponsored
- 59:34Speaker 1: all of our training camp interviews. So they sponsored the
- 59:36Speaker 1: whole entire LA trip. Shout out to the boys stream
- 59:39Speaker 1: Paramount plus you know on your smart TV.
- 59:42Speaker 2: But without further ado, here are the interviews.
- 59:45Speaker 7: First stop at the training camp tour Los Angeles, California,
- 59:48Speaker 7: where the Chargers were sitting here with Austin Eckler, one
- 59:51Speaker 7: of the best running backs in the entire league, and
- 59:53Speaker 7: also will is Old.
- 59:55Speaker 4: One of the best landlords in the game.
- 59:56Speaker 7: Yeah, the best is the Yeah, when you were at
- 59:58Speaker 7: the Raiders, you stay at his place, right He charged
- 1:00:01Speaker 7: me rent.
- 1:00:01Speaker 2: I paid rent. There was there was.
- 1:00:03Speaker 4: He's a phenomenal landlord. He's the business man, is he?
- 1:00:06Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah, He's got a couple of things going on.
- 1:00:07Speaker 1: You got an app, You've got real estate, real estate,
- 1:00:11Speaker 1: a lot of nonprofits.
- 1:00:12Speaker 4: Yeah, huge real casey juju.
- 1:00:15Speaker 8: You guys just we just built the way right down
- 1:00:17Speaker 8: the beat right down the street here for Long Beach Bolly.
- 1:00:19Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:00:20Speaker 9: So a lot of stuff going on. He does a
- 1:00:22Speaker 9: lot of stuff.
- 1:00:22Speaker 7: No ship, how was well? Uh, I guess when you got.
- 1:00:26Speaker 8: Back, how was I mean, there wasn't really much in
- 1:00:29Speaker 8: the house, like there was like I just got the house.
- 1:00:31Speaker 8: I was like, look, man, there's not a lot in there.
- 1:00:33Speaker 8: There's enough to get buy though, and so that's I
- 1:00:34Speaker 8: guess that was enough. So it wasn't too much. And
- 1:00:37Speaker 8: you saw You're like, I bet there was a there
- 1:00:39Speaker 8: was a food left in the fridge, but I mean
- 1:00:42Speaker 8: that if that's it, then I'm like.
- 1:00:43Speaker 7: Whatever, we'll take out your throwing the garbage, yourself had
- 1:00:46Speaker 7: a couple of the anything else was Intactpee.
- 1:00:48Speaker 4: And Garrett, we're out there and I burnt the pizza
- 1:00:50Speaker 4: in the house.
- 1:00:51Speaker 7: A little smoke coming out of the oven. Yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 1:00:53Speaker 7: little smoke coming out of the oven. He's still own
- 1:00:55Speaker 7: that place now.
- 1:00:56Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:00:57Speaker 7: When you think about we'll get the football and stag
- 1:00:59Speaker 7: when you think about the ending of football, like what
- 1:01:01Speaker 7: is your end goal with all these.
- 1:01:03Speaker 8: Different Yeah, Man, for me, I'm really trying to just
- 1:01:07Speaker 8: continue to expand myself, expand my capabilities, and put myself
- 1:01:11Speaker 8: in positions to actually challenge those And so even like
- 1:01:14Speaker 8: right now, I've basically doubled my team this summer, and
- 1:01:18Speaker 8: I have two new things that I'm starting, starting this
- 1:01:20Speaker 8: website that's like a big aggregate of like all the
- 1:01:24Speaker 8: NFL players, like foundations and like merch lines and things
- 1:01:27Speaker 8: like that, so it's like a one stop shop. And
- 1:01:29Speaker 8: then I had like this discord event company that I'm starting.
- 1:01:32Speaker 8: So all of these things are always going on, and
- 1:01:34Speaker 8: I think I find myself where I get like, I
- 1:01:38Speaker 8: get impatient. I want to go do more, you know,
- 1:01:40Speaker 8: like football is going on, but it's like, Okay, I
- 1:01:42Speaker 8: still have time to do stuff, and so I continue
- 1:01:44Speaker 8: to build these different like situations where I can build
- 1:01:48Speaker 8: a team around a company, build a company, let that
- 1:01:50Speaker 8: thing operate, and then I build another one and I
- 1:01:52Speaker 8: do another one. And so that's where I am right now,
- 1:01:54Speaker 8: and I've been doing that for like four years now,
- 1:01:55Speaker 8: so all my endeavors are kind of starting to add
- 1:01:58Speaker 8: up and starting to grow this empire.
- 1:02:01Speaker 1: I was gonna say, how do you go about compartmentalizing
- 1:02:03Speaker 1: all that while playing football? Yeah, so making sure you're
- 1:02:06Speaker 1: not in the meeting room thinking about yeah.
- 1:02:08Speaker 8: Yeah, really when I'm here at football, when it's time
- 1:02:11Speaker 8: for football, like I am totally locked in at football,
- 1:02:13Speaker 8: just like when I'm thinking about those things, it's like
- 1:02:15Speaker 8: I'm only hyper focused on those And so when I'm
- 1:02:18Speaker 8: here and going into year seven, you know how it is,
- 1:02:22Speaker 8: you learn how to be a pro, You learn how
- 1:02:23Speaker 8: how the offenses work. You know pretty much every offense.
- 1:02:26Speaker 8: Now I've learned three of them. They're all the same.
- 1:02:28Speaker 8: We just call it different things. And I've gotten to
- 1:02:30Speaker 8: a routine. I love working out like that's that's what
- 1:02:32Speaker 8: I do. And so that helps where it's like I'm
- 1:02:35Speaker 8: already wanting to work and do the things that are
- 1:02:36Speaker 8: going to help me with football just on my own,
- 1:02:39Speaker 8: and so then when it comes time to football, I'm
- 1:02:40Speaker 8: already ready to go physically, and now it's just learning
- 1:02:42Speaker 8: the mental stuff.
- 1:02:44Speaker 7: When you came out and got in the NFL, when
- 1:02:46Speaker 7: did you start to feel more comfortable about doing stuff
- 1:02:48Speaker 7: outside of football?
- 1:02:49Speaker 2: Oh?
- 1:02:49Speaker 9: Great question, because yeah, yeah, yeah, for sure.
- 1:02:53Speaker 8: When I first started, right, I was I was undrafted,
- 1:02:56Speaker 8: six string, had a scratching claw to get on the team,
- 1:03:00Speaker 8: up on special teams, and for me, that was what
- 1:03:02Speaker 8: I was hyper focused on, just making sure I could
- 1:03:04Speaker 8: implement myself into this league and trying to make an
- 1:03:06Speaker 8: impact and be consistent and show that okay, I can
- 1:03:08Speaker 8: I can play at this level with this team or
- 1:03:10Speaker 8: some other team ended up being this team, and then
- 1:03:13Speaker 8: got a routine going was consistent. That's what I would
- 1:03:16Speaker 8: like to say, Like people say oh, you're this great
- 1:03:18Speaker 8: running back. Like what differentially, I'm just really consistent within
- 1:03:21Speaker 8: my job. You'd be surprised how far I can take you.
- 1:03:24Speaker 8: But once I got into my second year, I really
- 1:03:27Speaker 8: figured out how to start being a pro. So after
- 1:03:29Speaker 8: my second year, going into my third year, I was like, okay,
- 1:03:31Speaker 8: like I got a good grasp on this. I've I've
- 1:03:33Speaker 8: just pretty much established myself. You know, I've had success.
- 1:03:35Speaker 8: The coaching staff trust me, right, I know how to
- 1:03:38Speaker 8: actually get ready for season. And then that's when I
- 1:03:41Speaker 8: started getting into real estate and bought my first rental properties.
- 1:03:44Speaker 1: Who were some of the veteran mentors that you like
- 1:03:46Speaker 1: learn from and be like, Okay, after a year or two,
- 1:03:48Speaker 1: I've kind of learned how to be a pro. Who
- 1:03:50Speaker 1: are some of the guys you watched from afar or
- 1:03:51Speaker 1: directly influenced.
- 1:03:53Speaker 8: In the locker room, you know, there's so many different
- 1:03:55Speaker 8: types of people, There's so many different clicks and things
- 1:03:58Speaker 8: like that. And so we had our running back room,
- 1:04:01Speaker 8: and Melvin Gordon was like the guy that was in
- 1:04:02Speaker 8: front of me. He was he was just like the
- 1:04:05Speaker 8: number one in our locker room for a while in
- 1:04:08Speaker 8: uh in the running back room and for us, like
- 1:04:12Speaker 8: during the time here, like we all work together, but
- 1:04:14Speaker 8: when you go home, you're on your own.
- 1:04:16Speaker 9: And so like when we were.
- 1:04:17Speaker 8: Here, like yeah in the meeting room, like like I
- 1:04:19Speaker 8: see how much he understands the game and things like that.
- 1:04:22Speaker 8: So that was something I was able to learn from here.
- 1:04:24Speaker 8: But then you know how it gets when you get
- 1:04:25Speaker 8: outside the doors, it's on you.
- 1:04:27Speaker 9: What do you want to do?
- 1:04:28Speaker 8: And it goes back to even how I even got
- 1:04:30Speaker 8: to this point, Like I was so focused in college too,
- 1:04:33Speaker 8: but I thought I was going into business, and so
- 1:04:34Speaker 8: I was hyper focused on business building, my my connections,
- 1:04:37Speaker 8: my relationships, my capabilities in the business world. But that
- 1:04:40Speaker 8: that that drive and grind was also playing over into
- 1:04:43Speaker 8: my football career where I was trying to increase my
- 1:04:45Speaker 8: scholarship and so that demeanor coming into the PROB level, right,
- 1:04:50Speaker 8: it was the same thing it was like when it
- 1:04:51Speaker 8: was when I was done with the season or on
- 1:04:54Speaker 8: my own time, like I'm studying, I'm like, I'm making
- 1:04:56Speaker 8: sure that I can pick up any little thing that
- 1:04:58Speaker 8: I can to make sure I'm consider didn't do my job,
- 1:05:00Speaker 8: because you don't want it to be something that you
- 1:05:02Speaker 8: didn't do to cause you to fail right where it's
- 1:05:04Speaker 8: like I should have I should have done this, and
- 1:05:06Speaker 8: that would like nah, I couldn't do that to myself.
- 1:05:09Speaker 7: You know when you're you bring up Melvin Gordon, Yeah,
- 1:05:11Speaker 7: he's been on our podcast.
- 1:05:12Speaker 1: Me.
- 1:05:14Speaker 9: Yeah, we were telling this offseason a yeah, but.
- 1:05:16Speaker 7: You you walk into your room, undrafted guy scratching a
- 1:05:18Speaker 7: call on. You see this dude, he had the career
- 1:05:20Speaker 7: he did at Wisconsin, You see him balling out in
- 1:05:22Speaker 7: the league, and then you start to obviously overtake and
- 1:05:25Speaker 7: essentially take his job at the end of the day, Like,
- 1:05:27Speaker 7: was there ever a dynamic shift that you noticed throughout
- 1:05:30Speaker 7: the time that he was here once you started to
- 1:05:32Speaker 7: become the guy.
- 1:05:32Speaker 8: No, for us, it was I mean for me, I
- 1:05:36Speaker 8: was like super higher focus on whatever role I had.
- 1:05:39Speaker 9: At the beginning, it was just special teams.
- 1:05:40Speaker 8: It was like, all right, Austin, you had a great
- 1:05:42Speaker 8: you know, preseason on special teams to like five tackles
- 1:05:45Speaker 8: and special teams in the preseason games and it was like, Okay,
- 1:05:48Speaker 8: well this guy can run, he can tackle it, and
- 1:05:51Speaker 8: so yeah, I was decent at running back, but I
- 1:05:53Speaker 8: wasn't making crazy plays. My plays that I were making
- 1:05:55Speaker 8: was on special teams, so I'm running down on special teams.
- 1:05:58Speaker 8: And then my third, my third game in my rookie year,
- 1:06:02Speaker 8: I get my first ever carry and it was a
- 1:06:03Speaker 8: thirty four yard ripper right up the freaking middle for
- 1:06:06Speaker 8: a touchdown. Oh yeah, yeah it was thirty cheese. Yeah,
- 1:06:11Speaker 8: this is a little trap play. Yeah yeah, cheese mouse trap.
- 1:06:14Speaker 8: We have a whole bunch of codes, code names and stuff. Yeah,
- 1:06:19Speaker 8: and so yeah, rip it up and yeah, thirty four
- 1:06:22Speaker 8: yard touchdown.
- 1:06:22Speaker 9: I'm just full of emotion.
- 1:06:23Speaker 8: And I think that was kind of like, okay, like
- 1:06:25Speaker 8: maybe this guy can play offense a little bit. And
- 1:06:27Speaker 8: then actually Brandon Oliver, the guy that was in front
- 1:06:30Speaker 8: of me, ended up like tweaking his hamstring or something.
- 1:06:32Speaker 8: So then I did become the number two, and then
- 1:06:34Speaker 8: I did started playing more offense my rookie year, and
- 1:06:36Speaker 8: they're like, okay, like, yeah, he's consistent, knows what he's doing.
- 1:06:38Speaker 9: You can trust him in the game.
- 1:06:40Speaker 8: And then going into the next year, I was like
- 1:06:42Speaker 8: half and half like and it was like half offense,
- 1:06:45Speaker 8: half defense. And then the next year after that was
- 1:06:47Speaker 8: the year that Melbourne held out for the first three games,
- 1:06:50Speaker 8: and so then I was they were like Okay, Austin's
- 1:06:52Speaker 8: gonna get a test. Let's see if he can hold
- 1:06:54Speaker 8: the rope. We come out, I have an overtime like touchdown.
- 1:06:57Speaker 8: I go off the first game I had like three
- 1:06:59Speaker 8: touchdowns like one hundred and sixty seventy yards, and then
- 1:07:03Speaker 8: start establishing myself like okay, like this guy can actually
- 1:07:05Speaker 8: play football, and that they took me off with special teams,
- 1:07:07Speaker 8: and I was just strictly that'd.
- 1:07:10Speaker 2: Be the best feeling in the world.
- 1:07:11Speaker 8: Yeah, yeah, yeah, So there's progression that you saw within
- 1:07:14Speaker 8: and really it wasn't that I was doing anything crazy,
- 1:07:16Speaker 8: just doing my job, doing at a high level, doing
- 1:07:18Speaker 8: it consistently, and you know, it carries over into so
- 1:07:21Speaker 8: many different things, you know, all the aspects that I
- 1:07:23Speaker 8: have outside of football as well. Like I see in
- 1:07:25Speaker 8: my mind where it's like I take a project and
- 1:07:27Speaker 8: I apply those same at the principles that I live
- 1:07:30Speaker 8: by to it. And that's how I'm able to build
- 1:07:32Speaker 8: and do so many because I'm not in the in
- 1:07:34Speaker 8: the weeds and doing trying to do every little thing.
- 1:07:36Speaker 9: I'm just trying to do my portion of it.
- 1:07:38Speaker 8: And then I'll set it in especially for the companies,
- 1:07:40Speaker 8: I'll set up other people to do their portion of it,
- 1:07:42Speaker 8: and my portion is to oversee it right, right, And
- 1:07:45Speaker 8: when I'm in this room, it's like, Okay, my portion
- 1:07:46Speaker 8: is to play running back, right.
- 1:07:48Speaker 9: I'm not trying to do as much too much.
- 1:07:49Speaker 8: I'm trying to play running back to the highest level
- 1:07:51Speaker 8: that I possibly can. And the rest of the team
- 1:07:53Speaker 8: is right those teams that I put around myself as well.
- 1:07:57Speaker 9: So it's something that can rinse and repeat and I
- 1:07:58Speaker 9: can just keep doing.
- 1:07:59Speaker 1: Yeah, you've definitely you've obviously established yourself as like a
- 1:08:02Speaker 1: premiere back in the league. You're businessman, you can tell
- 1:08:05Speaker 1: you always see the wheels turning up top. Yeah, all
- 1:08:08Speaker 1: the headlines with the running back market and everything else. Ye,
- 1:08:12Speaker 1: Dalvin Cook, he just took a he just accepted a deal.
- 1:08:15Speaker 1: Ezekiel Elliott. Yeah, kind of softer deal. Yeah, one year deals,
- 1:08:19Speaker 1: franchise tags and all that. You've been somebody who's seems
- 1:08:22Speaker 1: to be like one of the leaders of that running
- 1:08:24Speaker 1: back group.
- 1:08:25Speaker 2: Where do you.
- 1:08:26Speaker 1: See this market going? How do you see all this shifting?
- 1:08:28Speaker 1: Like what is the strategy in your mind as you
- 1:08:30Speaker 1: see it from a bird's eye view?
- 1:08:32Speaker 8: Yeah, you know there's been a new narrative that's been
- 1:08:34Speaker 8: coming out because of the contract situation that's going on,
- 1:08:38Speaker 8: and for us as running backs right now, I think
- 1:08:40Speaker 8: it's important.
- 1:08:41Speaker 9: For us to talk about it.
- 1:08:42Speaker 8: And what we can do is one thing which I
- 1:08:45Speaker 8: think is amazing, to keep doing what we're doing right
- 1:08:47Speaker 8: now as far as playing, like keep making a huge
- 1:08:49Speaker 8: impact on your team. You know, there's average players in
- 1:08:53Speaker 8: the NFL, but then there's the outliers, and those outliers
- 1:08:55Speaker 8: are the guys that are setting the new markets, pushing
- 1:08:57Speaker 8: the boundaries. And the reason they're doing that is because
- 1:09:00Speaker 8: they're not the average. So when we have these narratives
- 1:09:03Speaker 8: that are coming out where they're comparing the outliers to
- 1:09:06Speaker 8: the average, it really hurts us, you know, and that
- 1:09:08Speaker 8: that's not fair to those guys. You know, you can't say, oh, well,
- 1:09:12Speaker 8: running backs in general only get this many yards.
- 1:09:14Speaker 9: What about those guys? What about you know, you know Josh.
- 1:09:17Speaker 8: Jacobs who just ran for sixteen hundred yards and all
- 1:09:19Speaker 8: those touchdowns and basically carry the Raiders offense. You know
- 1:09:23Speaker 8: what about ze I mean, Saquon what he's been doing.
- 1:09:25Speaker 8: You know, Tony Pollard, those guys that are not the average,
- 1:09:28Speaker 8: right and when you compare them to that you could
- 1:09:29Speaker 8: probably justify, yeah, if you shouldn't be paying anything, but
- 1:09:32Speaker 8: you could do that for every position.
- 1:09:33Speaker 9: You know, why are you doing that for the running
- 1:09:35Speaker 9: backs right now?
- 1:09:36Speaker 8: And so for us, what I want us to do
- 1:09:38Speaker 8: and what we've decided is let's keep talking about let's
- 1:09:40Speaker 8: try to change this narrative understanding make up.
- 1:09:43Speaker 9: Let people know that, hey, we can still make a
- 1:09:45Speaker 9: big impact.
- 1:09:45Speaker 8: And you see that, you go ask the Giants, fans
- 1:09:47Speaker 8: and the coaching staff how big of a you know,
- 1:09:49Speaker 8: impact Saquon is on the field right to when he's
- 1:09:52Speaker 8: not on the field, and they'll tell you that. And
- 1:09:54Speaker 8: so for us, it's it's talking about that and so
- 1:09:57Speaker 8: people understand that you cannot compare the outline to the
- 1:10:00Speaker 8: average and then justify paying them because of that. And
- 1:10:03Speaker 8: then another thing that we need to do is continue
- 1:10:05Speaker 8: to keep balling out, continue to do that right and
- 1:10:08Speaker 8: as we do that, I mean, time will show as
- 1:10:11Speaker 8: it has in the past, that yes.
- 1:10:12Speaker 9: We can make an impact on our team.
- 1:10:14Speaker 8: And not all running backs make a huge impact, but
- 1:10:16Speaker 8: the ones that do, we need them to step up.
- 1:10:18Speaker 8: Like me, there's this theory around twenty eight year olds like, oh,
- 1:10:21Speaker 8: you know, that's when they start dropping off. I'm twenty eight,
- 1:10:23Speaker 8: so it's on me, so on my shoulders, go out
- 1:10:25Speaker 8: there and prove them wrong.
- 1:10:26Speaker 1: You know, where do you see the market going? Like,
- 1:10:29Speaker 1: where do you want it? Where do you guys like
- 1:10:30Speaker 1: want it to go? Collectively?
- 1:10:32Speaker 8: Yeah, I mean I think it just wanted to stay consistent,
- 1:10:34Speaker 8: just like every other market is. You know, I'm not
- 1:10:36Speaker 8: saying we have any guys that are pushing the top
- 1:10:38Speaker 8: and need to bust open the market cap right now
- 1:10:41Speaker 8: and are the best new thing. I think Christians still
- 1:10:44Speaker 8: at that level and holding it down at the top.
- 1:10:46Speaker 8: You know, you could make some arguments from some other guys,
- 1:10:48Speaker 8: but no one's even getting close to those types of
- 1:10:51Speaker 8: contracts where it's like you're telling me they're that far
- 1:10:53Speaker 8: away and I can't believe that.
- 1:10:55Speaker 9: I don't buy that.
- 1:10:57Speaker 8: And so there's been a decline as far as you know,
- 1:11:00Speaker 8: these reupping of contracts. And you know, we saw it
- 1:11:03Speaker 8: with a franchise tag where it's like now, instead of
- 1:11:06Speaker 8: giving Saquon all those three guys write a chance to
- 1:11:09Speaker 8: go get an open market. They've been tagged and they've
- 1:11:11Speaker 8: been you know, stuck at an artificial set number. Are
- 1:11:15Speaker 8: they worth that maybe maybe not, but they don't get
- 1:11:17Speaker 8: an opportunity, and so you won't know, and so it
- 1:11:19Speaker 8: messes up our market. So now when you're getting compared
- 1:11:21Speaker 8: to people, how the market works, Oh well, sak one's
- 1:11:24Speaker 8: only getting ten, so we're gonna give you less than
- 1:11:25Speaker 8: that because you're not as good as him.
- 1:11:27Speaker 9: But maybe he should be making fifteen sixteen, fifteen, I
- 1:11:29Speaker 9: don't know.
- 1:11:30Speaker 2: We don't know.
- 1:11:30Speaker 9: One's going to know because he never got to the
- 1:11:32Speaker 9: open market.
- 1:11:33Speaker 7: Because it seems like with a lot of position group,
- 1:11:34Speaker 7: it's like the next guy up, the next guy up
- 1:11:36Speaker 7: who's played well enough, he just resets the market, and
- 1:11:39Speaker 7: then that guy resets it. Yeah, exactly, it always off.
- 1:11:41Speaker 7: It's a lineman, which is all I really know. Like
- 1:11:43Speaker 7: some guy sets the market and then six months later
- 1:11:46Speaker 7: there's a new line.
- 1:11:46Speaker 2: Then there's a new line.
- 1:11:47Speaker 7: One thing you brought up a little bit ago that
- 1:11:49Speaker 7: was a notable point is you're saying the biggest thing
- 1:11:52Speaker 7: is for guys just to stay and keep balling for
- 1:11:54Speaker 7: their team.
- 1:11:55Speaker 2: Was there ever a.
- 1:11:55Speaker 7: Discussion for you guys like we need to hold out
- 1:11:57Speaker 7: as a running back group. It's because it seems like
- 1:12:00Speaker 7: like if you're being undervalued, so much. Someone must have
- 1:12:03Speaker 7: brought that to the table, like do we just hold
- 1:12:04Speaker 7: out of this whole thing?
- 1:12:05Speaker 8: Yeah, no, it's definitely been brought up. You know, you
- 1:12:08Speaker 8: can go back and forth or whether that's that's good
- 1:12:11Speaker 8: or not. I just I just know as a collective,
- 1:12:13Speaker 8: it puts a lot of pressure on not necessarily the
- 1:12:16Speaker 8: older guys, but the younger guys, you know, because it's
- 1:12:19Speaker 8: like if you have a rookie or first year or
- 1:12:21Speaker 8: second year or even a bubble guy that's like, I
- 1:12:22Speaker 8: need to make the team.
- 1:12:23Speaker 9: And now you're asking the holdout.
- 1:12:25Speaker 8: It's like, man, that's that's a tough spot to put
- 1:12:28Speaker 8: a to put anybody like, you're not gonna get paid either,
- 1:12:31Speaker 8: So we're taking a risk here and getting everyone on
- 1:12:34Speaker 8: board with that. It takes time, and it takes I
- 1:12:37Speaker 8: think a reason that would be bigger than just the
- 1:12:40Speaker 8: running backs and maybe you know, as a collective of
- 1:12:42Speaker 8: the entire union, but now I think it comes down
- 1:12:46Speaker 8: to everyone's individual you know kind of situation like do
- 1:12:49Speaker 8: you think that's going to be a power move for
- 1:12:50Speaker 8: you not to sign your franchise tag or to hold
- 1:12:52Speaker 8: out based off of you know, your Senate scenario. And
- 1:12:55Speaker 8: it's it's all individual what you what do your what
- 1:12:57Speaker 8: does your team think you can do?
- 1:12:59Speaker 9: What are the commerce says that you have?
- 1:13:00Speaker 8: And because maybe the team is interested in getting something done,
- 1:13:03Speaker 8: but you're close, but you're not You're not on the
- 1:13:05Speaker 8: same page yet, so maybe you hold out to maybe
- 1:13:07Speaker 8: kind of close that small gap, or if you're really
- 1:13:09Speaker 8: far apart, it's like, ah, I don't know. If you
- 1:13:11Speaker 8: can hold out, it might not do anything, you know.
- 1:13:12Speaker 8: So I think there's different factors that play into everyone's situation,
- 1:13:15Speaker 8: a lot of different variables.
- 1:13:16Speaker 1: Do you feel like, what are the conversations like when
- 1:13:19Speaker 1: it comes to the thought of the running back having
- 1:13:21Speaker 1: their own union?
- 1:13:23Speaker 8: No, no, I mean I've heard narratives like that. I
- 1:13:27Speaker 8: think those are coming from outside sources. I've never heard
- 1:13:30Speaker 8: any of our guys say that. It doesn't really make
- 1:13:33Speaker 8: sense to me because if we're not utilizing our own
- 1:13:37Speaker 8: union that we have now, which is a lot more
- 1:13:39Speaker 8: powerful because it's all of us than what makes me
- 1:13:42Speaker 8: think that we're going to do it.
- 1:13:43Speaker 2: On our own right?
- 1:13:44Speaker 8: And I mean, who's going to run that, you know,
- 1:13:47Speaker 8: who's going to set that up? Like it's not just like, oh,
- 1:13:48Speaker 8: we just started union. The union is us. We are
- 1:13:51Speaker 8: the we are the union, you know, so if you
- 1:13:53Speaker 8: want to do something, let's do it. Let's get it done.
- 1:13:55Speaker 8: Like you already have the power to do what you
- 1:13:57Speaker 8: want to do with your individual union, you know, like
- 1:14:00Speaker 8: we can do it right now. What are you waiting for?
- 1:14:02Speaker 8: You know, if you want to start your own union,
- 1:14:03Speaker 8: why would you not like conversations like we had, Like
- 1:14:06Speaker 8: that's what it is. It was the running backs. There
- 1:14:08Speaker 8: was no there was no other position beside running backs
- 1:14:10Speaker 8: on that. So basically we already have that noise. So
- 1:14:12Speaker 8: I don't I just I think that's extra work. That's unnecessary.
- 1:14:15Speaker 9: Brother.
- 1:14:15Speaker 7: We appreciate you coming on. I know, literally twelve o
- 1:14:18Speaker 7: two right now, you have to work out of twelve five.
- 1:14:21Speaker 2: We could clearly talk to him for hours, for hours.
- 1:14:23Speaker 8: We gotta run back, We gotta run back in the bus. No,
- 1:14:26Speaker 8: you've been trying to get me out there. We'll make
- 1:14:29Speaker 8: it happen. We'll make it happen. Hopefully get it done
- 1:14:31Speaker 8: this next offseason and I'll have a whole empire to
- 1:14:33Speaker 8: unload on you guys and let you guys know how's going.
- 1:14:35Speaker 9: Yeah, awesome, good stuff.
- 1:14:39Speaker 1: We interrupt this episode to bring you the official water

- 1:15:13Speaker 1: Joe Burrow. Honestly, I enjoy a lot of fucking flavors
- 1:15:18Speaker 1: of body Armour. My favorite part of body Armor is
- 1:15:21Speaker 1: going into any gas station or walking up you know,
- 1:15:23Speaker 1: when you walk up to that fridge and you're just
- 1:15:24Speaker 1: excited to know, like, what flavors do they have in stock?
- 1:15:27Speaker 2: Am I gonna go with the water?
- 1:15:28Speaker 1: All that kind of lame, like, let's go with a
- 1:15:30Speaker 1: nice tasty sports drink. My favorite one is the is
- 1:15:34Speaker 1: the fruit punch, Big fruit punch guy. But I do
- 1:15:38Speaker 1: enjoy looking through all the flavors and seeing them in
- 1:15:40Speaker 1: a nice well lit refrigerator at a gas station. Available
- 1:15:43Speaker 1: in all stores nationwide. Head on over to body Armor
- 1:15:46Speaker 1: to the body Armor store.
- 1:15:48Speaker 2: Or I just butchered that.
- 1:15:50Speaker 1: Head on over to the body Armor store on Amazon
- 1:15:54Speaker 1: and get yours today drink body Armor. Back to the episode, gentlemen,
- 1:15:59Speaker 1: whatcome the busting with the boys? First quest, who's the
- 1:16:03Speaker 1: biggest try hard on the team?
- 1:16:05Speaker 9: The biggest try hard on try hard? You pretty much
- 1:16:09Speaker 9: can pick any defensive guy defense.
- 1:16:11Speaker 10: I feel like defensive players always try hard. Yeah, they
- 1:16:13Speaker 10: just yeah, they're extremely walk through.
- 1:16:15Speaker 9: Yeah, to walk through, bro, the defensive guy you want
- 1:16:18Speaker 9: to pick to give some some defense.
- 1:16:20Speaker 1: Now for the for the defensive side, the offensive line
- 1:16:23Speaker 1: is is taught to go at an unreasonable pace.
- 1:16:27Speaker 7: Unnaturally though you think those big guys want to be
- 1:16:29Speaker 7: running up and down the field like that yelled at.
- 1:16:32Speaker 4: But it comes from the coaches. They like put some
- 1:16:34Speaker 4: resks on, like hey.
- 1:16:35Speaker 7: We need some finish down lineah, finish with the ball
- 1:16:37Speaker 7: carrier goes running double route sixty yards, gets tackled at
- 1:16:41Speaker 7: the five yard line.
- 1:16:42Speaker 2: Yeah he's trotting down there. Yeah, you know.
- 1:16:45Speaker 7: Joey Bosta though he's the guy you look at and
- 1:16:47Speaker 7: you think probably not try hard.
- 1:16:49Speaker 9: Guy in practice the only one that don't Kali don't
- 1:16:51Speaker 9: really try hard either, Like yeah, because there's like an
- 1:16:54Speaker 9: understanding like I would have made the play. Most of
- 1:16:56Speaker 9: the guys is like I gotta get to my spot.
- 1:16:58Speaker 9: I can't let you block me. I gotta like bro relaxed, Bro,
- 1:17:01Speaker 9: Like you're probably not even gonna make the play, Bro.
- 1:17:04Speaker 2: You made you.
- 1:17:05Speaker 7: You bring up a great point, like getting to a
- 1:17:07Speaker 7: point where you know like you're good enough, you made
- 1:17:10Speaker 7: the roster. Not only made you made the roster, but
- 1:17:11Speaker 7: you're a fucking star. Like when did that creep in
- 1:17:14Speaker 7: for you? There was a little bit of there had
- 1:17:16Speaker 7: to be some time there in the beginning.
- 1:17:17Speaker 9: You're little insurance, say after probably after I made the
- 1:17:20Speaker 9: Pro Bowl. Yeah, I already thought I was pretty good,
- 1:17:23Speaker 9: but then I made the Pro Bowl and it was
- 1:17:25Speaker 9: like all you made it with one of the guys,
- 1:17:26Speaker 9: I was like twenty sixteen. That was after my ACS.
- 1:17:29Speaker 9: So twenty sixteen, I think maybe twenty seventeen you did.
- 1:17:32Speaker 1: You had comeback Player of the Year in Yeah, yeah,
- 1:17:34Speaker 1: eventem right, that was same year.
- 1:17:36Speaker 7: Okay, it was sixteen season, seventeen Pro Bowl.
- 1:17:39Speaker 9: Yeah, something like that something like that, that.
- 1:17:41Speaker 2: Is that is wild.
- 1:17:42Speaker 7: And then from from then on, did it change your
- 1:17:44Speaker 7: workout or just how you practice?
- 1:17:46Speaker 9: No, I still practice hard. I'm not I'm not try hard,
- 1:17:48Speaker 9: but I go pretty hard in practice.
- 1:17:51Speaker 2: You do, don't think I go hard? God, it's a teammate.
- 1:17:57Speaker 2: What's Kenny like as a teammate? Amazing? You know real
- 1:18:01Speaker 2: now I'm being serious.
- 1:18:02Speaker 10: He's like a coach, really, I mean he everybody go
- 1:18:06Speaker 10: to him for, you know, examples of how to run
- 1:18:08Speaker 10: a route. What do you think on this coverage? If
- 1:18:11Speaker 10: he playing me like this, how should I run it?
- 1:18:13Speaker 10: I feel like a lot more people go to him
- 1:18:15Speaker 10: as far as you know running routes before a coach.
- 1:18:19Speaker 2: Yeah, you are nasty.
- 1:18:21Speaker 7: You're right, running it is? Has that always been like
- 1:18:26Speaker 7: a really important thing to you or did you realize early.
- 1:18:28Speaker 2: I was always been shifty.
- 1:18:30Speaker 9: I used to play running back and I was like,
- 1:18:32Speaker 9: uh not very Sanders obviously, but I was like that
- 1:18:34Speaker 9: was my play style, Like yeah, Barry Sanders, lt I
- 1:18:37Speaker 9: make guys missing, you know all? And then I got Yeah.
- 1:18:41Speaker 9: My sophomore year high school, I went up to like
- 1:18:43Speaker 9: six three. So then I just had to take it
- 1:18:45Speaker 9: out of a receiver. But I can't there hear me
- 1:18:47Speaker 9: play style Nah, not have been levey On Bell something
- 1:18:51Speaker 9: like that shift.
- 1:18:52Speaker 7: Hey, Leveon Bell was different move he was almost like
- 1:18:55Speaker 7: standing still for a little bit.
- 1:18:56Speaker 2: He was different.
- 1:18:57Speaker 7: Glitching Madden like this was just kind of falling around.
- 1:18:59Speaker 7: He stand away from the hold to open and then
- 1:19:01Speaker 7: get him.
- 1:19:01Speaker 9: There any other running back do that? The coach is yelling, No.
- 1:19:06Speaker 2: Mike Commlin, dude.
- 1:19:07Speaker 7: He he just seems like he's got away with unique
- 1:19:09Speaker 7: personalities like Roethlisberger, ab and Le'Veon on the same team.
- 1:19:13Speaker 2: Yeah, no question.
- 1:19:16Speaker 10: A.
- 1:19:17Speaker 2: Yeah. Is there an art running around?
- 1:19:21Speaker 9: Absolutely? You gotta have a vision. It's definitely art man.
- 1:19:25Speaker 9: You gotta set this guy up. You gotta paint a
- 1:19:27Speaker 9: picture where he don't where he believes it.
- 1:19:29Speaker 1: You know what's like something practical that you're able to
- 1:19:33Speaker 1: just like say out loud because I feel like a
- 1:19:35Speaker 1: lot of it is probably just got to be instinct.
- 1:19:38Speaker 9: Yeah, a lot of it instinct. But I think more
- 1:19:40Speaker 9: than that, this leverage. Once you know a guy's leverage,
- 1:19:44Speaker 9: I can make him play the leverage more than he's
- 1:19:46Speaker 9: supposed to. Like you know what I'm saying. I can
- 1:19:49Speaker 9: really make that for people that don't so leverage. It
- 1:19:54Speaker 9: starts with the safety. So if it's two safeties, he's
- 1:19:56Speaker 9: gonna have inside leverage. If it's one safety, he's gonna
- 1:19:58Speaker 9: have outside leverage. So once you could figure that out
- 1:20:00Speaker 9: and you can see that pre snap, if he has
- 1:20:02Speaker 9: outside leverage, I'm taking him outside as far as I
- 1:20:05Speaker 9: want to take it. And now now the inside is
- 1:20:07Speaker 9: that much more open, you know what I'm saying, saying
- 1:20:09Speaker 9: thing with the outside. If he's inside leverage, I'm taking
- 1:20:12Speaker 9: him inside.
- 1:20:14Speaker 2: Is that something you had to learn early?
- 1:20:16Speaker 9: Absolutely comfortable with you. I mean, like for a rookie,
- 1:20:19Speaker 9: it's hard to do. I tell him all the time, like,
- 1:20:21Speaker 9: look at the safety is if it's too high, he
- 1:20:22Speaker 9: got inside leverage. But it's hard to like, yeah, you ain't.
- 1:20:26Speaker 4: You ain't just about to like he said, he's still
- 1:20:28Speaker 4: not comfortable.
- 1:20:29Speaker 10: I do it sometimes, but yeah, I feel like he
- 1:20:31Speaker 10: pushed it to like the farest point to where it's
- 1:20:34Speaker 10: like but he still do it.
- 1:20:36Speaker 7: Though, Like in your mind, when you're pushing somebody with
- 1:20:38Speaker 7: outside leverage out, you think about that redlining practice.
- 1:20:40Speaker 10: Yeah, I'm like, he's not gonna move and then I'm
- 1:20:42Speaker 10: gonna come back in. He's gonna be waiting on me,
- 1:20:44Speaker 10: but you try.
- 1:20:44Speaker 2: To push to the gatory pile.
- 1:20:45Speaker 7: I'm taking him, Yeah, taking him out there, and he
- 1:20:48Speaker 7: gotta play it.
- 1:20:49Speaker 2: He gotta play it. Yeah. Do y'all sell scout.
- 1:20:51Speaker 1: Do y'all sell scout a lot to where you're like, Okay,
- 1:20:53Speaker 1: I need this route to match up to what people
- 1:20:55Speaker 1: are obviously preparing for, and this is how it can
- 1:20:57Speaker 1: make it look like this, to change it up.
- 1:20:58Speaker 9: That's where the art part comes in. You make everything
- 1:21:00Speaker 9: look the same. You know what I'm saying. They don't
- 1:21:02Speaker 9: know what's coming.
- 1:21:03Speaker 7: So yeah, off of the line, I don't know how
- 1:21:08Speaker 7: this is for you, but like just watching you on
- 1:21:09Speaker 7: the outside, it's like, that's cool.
- 1:21:10Speaker 2: It just seems like they're running. Seems like they're running.
- 1:21:12Speaker 7: And then I know you, like you sit there and
- 1:21:15Speaker 7: you're like you know, qwo jet blah blah blah blah,
- 1:21:17Speaker 7: and you're all right, boys, good luck and just run
- 1:21:19Speaker 7: like a slant.
- 1:21:19Speaker 2: You're like, I didn't really do anything, did he know?
- 1:21:21Speaker 7: Thinking about leverage and all that stuff, It's wild how
- 1:21:24Speaker 7: many like mini games are being played on one on one.
- 1:21:27Speaker 9: S mass for sure, especially when you're playing against a
- 1:21:29Speaker 9: good guy. Yeah, and he knows his leverage, but he
- 1:21:31Speaker 9: don't really have to play that leverage. That's why I
- 1:21:33Speaker 9: like playing against the Patriots. They're tough, man, because like
- 1:21:36Speaker 9: it's one high, so they're playing outside leverage, but they'll
- 1:21:38Speaker 9: play ahead up and they won't move, just like, man,
- 1:21:40Speaker 9: I don't know I'm gonna get in there today.
- 1:21:42Speaker 7: It's wild the Patriots, Like, I mean, they obviously have
- 1:21:45Speaker 7: talent on their team, but they've made a living for
- 1:21:47Speaker 7: themselves being like a team that just like is really
- 1:21:49Speaker 7: well coached and get it done. And then you think
- 1:21:51Speaker 7: of one on one outside guy, like you'd be like, oh,
- 1:21:54Speaker 7: this is no problem, this is as talented as me,
- 1:21:55Speaker 7: blah blah blah blah. But they're just so dialed the
- 1:21:57Speaker 7: fucking and they just spin the wheel on defense. They
- 1:22:00Speaker 7: could run a three four one week and the next
- 1:22:02Speaker 7: week they're running five exactly. We have no idea we're
- 1:22:05Speaker 7: gonna do.
- 1:22:06Speaker 9: Every time we played him wrong, we're wrong, dude.
- 1:22:08Speaker 7: And then they bring Himen Chung back in the day
- 1:22:10Speaker 7: he go down and play the safety and be like
- 1:22:12Speaker 7: you like, now count him, and you're counting all that.
- 1:22:15Speaker 1: It was in their defense, Like they're known for trying
- 1:22:17Speaker 1: to take out the you know, the better weapon as
- 1:22:20Speaker 1: much as they can. So even though the dude's playing
- 1:22:22Speaker 1: head up, he's probably knows that he's got some inside
- 1:22:24Speaker 1: help somewhere.
- 1:22:25Speaker 7: But you say, hey, when you're when you're playing the Patriots, Mike,
- 1:22:28Speaker 7: like early in your career, this man's getting doubled over here.
- 1:22:31Speaker 7: It had to be nice double both guys.
- 1:22:34Speaker 10: I like it early on. And then they started trying
- 1:22:37Speaker 10: to double both of us and they had step and
- 1:22:41Speaker 10: it was like that were doing it was like punt.
- 1:22:45Speaker 9: No, it was crazy. It was double vice. Really no,
- 1:22:47Speaker 9: it was single. It was me and Stephan and then
- 1:22:49Speaker 9: they double him with JC.
- 1:22:51Speaker 2: That's you got to do that.
- 1:22:54Speaker 1: You guys played fantasy No, I don't know fantasy football.
- 1:22:57Speaker 2: If you look at the numbers on the.
- 1:22:58Speaker 10: Team, I think, hey, for sure, for sure, I think
- 1:23:02Speaker 10: you are some heavy hitters.
- 1:23:04Speaker 1: Yeah, are some heavy hitters. Sometimes you gotta like pick
- 1:23:06Speaker 1: and choose, like which one do we think? So you
- 1:23:07Speaker 1: get the ball more?
- 1:23:08Speaker 2: We got to I know if I'm on the I
- 1:23:10Speaker 2: know if.
- 1:23:10Speaker 1: I'm on the team, like I'm coming up, I have
- 1:23:12Speaker 1: one of you guys draft. I'm let's say, hey, I
- 1:23:13Speaker 1: need a I need something this.
- 1:23:15Speaker 2: I need something this week. I say, don't get mad
- 1:23:19Speaker 2: at you don't if you don't put up numbers.
- 1:23:22Speaker 4: You know, Jay reed, like I always said, you and
- 1:23:23Speaker 4: read on my fantasy and I'll come.
- 1:23:24Speaker 2: Up to him and be like, hey cat, two balls
- 1:23:26Speaker 2: last week. I'm gonna need you to pick it up.
- 1:23:29Speaker 2: I'm gonna have to move on. It's great. I have
- 1:23:30Speaker 2: to move on from you.
- 1:23:31Speaker 7: Do you guys get a tweeted out quite a bit
- 1:23:33Speaker 7: from people on their stasy teams?
- 1:23:35Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 1:23:35Speaker 7: Have you guys have been like a Todd girly situation
- 1:23:37Speaker 7: where you get the ball and the touchdowns right there,
- 1:23:40Speaker 7: but you know, for the betterment of winning the game,
- 1:23:41Speaker 7: you can't you can't score.
- 1:23:44Speaker 2: What do you think you would do in that situation?
- 1:23:46Speaker 2: Was that? To me?
- 1:23:47Speaker 7: Selfishly? I'm thinking stats, baby, we had contract to you're
- 1:23:50Speaker 7: coming up. It could be three years away. They got
- 1:23:52Speaker 7: to remember this touchdown?
- 1:23:53Speaker 2: You know? What was the situation on Todd?
- 1:23:56Speaker 7: So it's like usually like in a four minute situation,
- 1:23:58Speaker 7: were they already well basically the white flag and they'll like,
- 1:24:01Speaker 7: let you score. It's more of a running back thing.
- 1:24:03Speaker 7: They'll like, let you score to get the ball back.
- 1:24:05Speaker 7: Only being down nine and now gives them more time
- 1:24:07Speaker 7: to do that on sidekick. So the situation for you
- 1:24:10Speaker 7: is I'm.
- 1:24:10Speaker 9: Think for running back you gotta just go down.
- 1:24:13Speaker 2: Gotta go down.
- 1:24:13Speaker 7: But for you you can kind of play am or receive.
- 1:24:15Speaker 7: I'm not always in this step. You get your bubble
- 1:24:19Speaker 7: Street and you coach.
- 1:24:20Speaker 2: We have two possessions.
- 1:24:22Speaker 7: Want me to do exactly.
- 1:24:23Speaker 2: You gotta get a stop. You can't let us twice.
- 1:24:26Speaker 2: We can't let us score twice.
- 1:24:28Speaker 7: Let Bosa and Khalil go to work, bro and cook it.
- 1:24:31Speaker 7: I need you, Yeah, Mike, for you when you got draft, like, actually,
- 1:24:34Speaker 7: let's go back to just draft.
- 1:24:35Speaker 2: In general, for both of you.
- 1:24:36Speaker 7: When you guys were you're twenty fourteen thirteen, twenty thirteen, Uh,
- 1:24:41Speaker 7: where did you guys want to go? You've been here
- 1:24:42Speaker 7: long enough now it's okay if you don't see the charges.
- 1:24:44Speaker 7: But where did you want to go?
- 1:24:47Speaker 2: I really didn't have a place I wanted to go.
- 1:24:49Speaker 7: Who are you a fan of?
- 1:24:50Speaker 2: Growing up?
- 1:24:51Speaker 10: I like Randy Moss Adrian Peterson, but I didn't want
- 1:24:55Speaker 10: to go to Minnesota. Yeah, where'd you go? Where'd you
- 1:24:58Speaker 10: grow up at? I know you went to Colna, I
- 1:25:00Speaker 10: grew up.
- 1:25:00Speaker 7: You're coming out this ghost far You never thought about
- 1:25:05Speaker 7: going to the University of South Carolina.
- 1:25:06Speaker 2: Yeah, it was an option. It was an option.
- 1:25:10Speaker 4: Boy, hope he's a bigger he's a game cock.
- 1:25:13Speaker 10: Or yeah, that's why I was gonna commit, and it
- 1:25:16Speaker 10: happened he went to Clinton. On the day when I
- 1:25:22Speaker 10: went to commit, I just peked the Clemson had wait wait,
- 1:25:25Speaker 10: wait wait.
- 1:25:26Speaker 2: I grabbed.
- 1:25:29Speaker 9: Where.
- 1:25:30Speaker 10: I told my family I'm going to South Carolina. It
- 1:25:32Speaker 10: was like thirty minutes from the crib. I'm like, yeah,
- 1:25:34Speaker 10: we're going there. And then on commitment day, I grabbed
- 1:25:39Speaker 10: South Carolina had put it down, grabbed Clemson.
- 1:25:42Speaker 2: My mom was, what are.
- 1:25:44Speaker 7: You doing fucking away?
- 1:25:46Speaker 2: He's confuted.
- 1:25:47Speaker 7: There's no way you just had that.
- 1:25:48Speaker 10: But it's crazy because I had to commit me day,
- 1:25:51Speaker 10: my coach, my high school coach, had a long talk
- 1:25:53Speaker 10: with me because he knew I was going to South Carolina,
- 1:25:56Speaker 10: but he wanted me to go to Clemson. And he
- 1:25:58Speaker 10: had a long talk with me before like we had
- 1:26:01Speaker 10: the delayed thing and all.
- 1:26:04Speaker 2: Clemson.
- 1:26:05Speaker 7: What was like the what was the reason why you
- 1:26:06Speaker 7: should you talking.
- 1:26:07Speaker 2: About quarterback situation?
- 1:26:09Speaker 10: South Carolina didn't have like a real elyaite quarterback like
- 1:26:13Speaker 10: Clemson got some guys coming in receivers. I had to
- 1:26:16Speaker 10: learn from saying me and them. South Carolina didn't have nobody.
- 1:26:20Speaker 10: But that was my main thing. I'm like, I go
- 1:26:21Speaker 10: to South Carolina. I'm gonna be the star. Like, go
- 1:26:24Speaker 10: right now, be the star.
- 1:26:26Speaker 2: A little bit, get a little bit.
- 1:26:30Speaker 7: Everybody all right, you can't get in trouble anymore.
- 1:26:33Speaker 2: Nil is a thing.
- 1:26:33Speaker 7: Clear got some cash, new car.
- 1:26:39Speaker 10: I was driving the buick, Buick like old buick, pointing
- 1:26:45Speaker 10: at the point, B yeah locked. Then with me, how
- 1:26:49Speaker 10: much did you get paid to go to college?
- 1:26:51Speaker 9: I wish man, I was on my way to going
- 1:26:53Speaker 9: to Alabama. Though we probably got some bread, no question.
- 1:26:56Speaker 9: I didn't get nine though, wouldn't take no U huh No.
- 1:27:02Speaker 2: They was they Yeah, they was there. They was going.
- 1:27:03Speaker 2: They was gonna they were gonna show some love.
- 1:27:06Speaker 7: They it's like almost like they almost said say at
- 1:27:09Speaker 7: this point, like they pay people. They Derek in the pond,
- 1:27:12Speaker 7: He's like, I got paid in rings, which is a
- 1:27:13Speaker 7: hell of a thing to say. Yeah, crazy that it
- 1:27:15Speaker 7: goes hard.
- 1:27:15Speaker 2: I went on to visit.
- 1:27:16Speaker 9: Everybody got chrystlers. You know, it's crazy.
- 1:27:19Speaker 2: See that again.
- 1:27:20Speaker 9: Everybody everybody at the dorm had a christ had a
- 1:27:22Speaker 9: Crystler Chrysler three hundred, three hundred, three hundred, crushing like jeeps, Like, bro,
- 1:27:27Speaker 9: what's up?
- 1:27:28Speaker 7: Three hundreds got to be the wimber ones doing no way?
- 1:27:31Speaker 7: They said, they hook it up when you get their
- 1:27:33Speaker 7: systems rams. You hear about Matthew Stafford when he was
- 1:27:37Speaker 7: gonna leave early. No, he came out to his mailbox
- 1:27:39Speaker 7: and there was five hundred thousand dollars sitting in his
- 1:27:41Speaker 7: mailbox for him to stay for another year. Now, obviously
- 1:27:43Speaker 7: he was the first overall, but he's like, this is
- 1:27:45Speaker 7: fucking nothing. Great end up believing, but sec rules like that. Dude, No,
- 1:27:50Speaker 7: I think he gave it back. I didn't hear from him.
- 1:27:52Speaker 7: This is like a game of telephone friends a friend.
- 1:27:54Speaker 2: Now I'm here. You know I would have kept this.
- 1:27:58Speaker 2: You would have kept it. Quite somebody took it. I
- 1:28:01Speaker 2: don't know where it's AT's like once you leave paul it,
- 1:28:07Speaker 2: I ain't heard it up. That's what I'm every day.
- 1:28:11Speaker 7: You think dudes leaving college and then get in trouble
- 1:28:14Speaker 7: like Reggie Bush is a perfect example. Like they took
- 1:28:16Speaker 7: his heisman away. Yeah, Like I'm Reggie Bush I'm just
- 1:28:18Speaker 7: going to go to a trophy shop back. Hey make
- 1:28:19Speaker 7: me a replica of the heisman I won that thing.
- 1:28:21Speaker 7: It doesn't matter.
- 1:28:22Speaker 2: Clear day, Clear's day.
- 1:28:23Speaker 1: They do need to give that ship back to They
- 1:28:25Speaker 1: got to give that shack to then a hurry, like
- 1:28:27Speaker 1: when you got drafted here, most of the dynamic like
- 1:28:30Speaker 1: between y'all two, because you're obviously a first round pick,
- 1:28:32Speaker 1: you're very established come back player of the year, Pro Bowls.
- 1:28:35Speaker 2: See.
- 1:28:36Speaker 10: It was different because when I first got here, I
- 1:28:38Speaker 10: was dealing with my back, so I missed OTA's training
- 1:28:42Speaker 10: camp like the first four weeks of the season, so
- 1:28:45Speaker 10: I was just in the rehab room just trying to
- 1:28:47Speaker 10: get right. I wasn't really in meetings like that. I
- 1:28:50Speaker 10: was just trying to get healthy. So it was a
- 1:28:51Speaker 10: little different. It started off slow. I mean once I
- 1:28:54Speaker 10: hit the field film room, my main thing was how
- 1:28:57Speaker 10: could I learn defenses to make my job a little easier,
- 1:29:01Speaker 10: And just hearing them talking meetings and stuff just made
- 1:29:03Speaker 10: everything a lot quicker for me, learning a lot faster
- 1:29:06Speaker 10: and just yeah, play fast.
- 1:29:09Speaker 2: Was there a go ahead?
- 1:29:10Speaker 7: Was there like a dynamic between you two coming in
- 1:29:12Speaker 7: like you're being the first round pick?
- 1:29:14Speaker 2: How what you were you and Mike Cammon. I was
- 1:29:16Speaker 2: a year four. But did you sign the same contract yet?
- 1:29:20Speaker 9: Year he signed was? Uh was the year I made
- 1:29:22Speaker 9: the pro bo?
- 1:29:23Speaker 2: Yeah? So that was right after the a C.
- 1:29:25Speaker 7: Now was there a little bit of a like are
- 1:29:26Speaker 7: they trying to replace me? Because you guys are similar players?
- 1:29:28Speaker 9: How I was feeling when we first did it. Yeah,
- 1:29:30Speaker 9: I was sitting next to trap like, oh, they trying
- 1:29:33Speaker 9: me right now?
- 1:29:34Speaker 2: They trying me.
- 1:29:36Speaker 7: It is stressful sitting there watching the draft.
- 1:29:38Speaker 2: Yeah yeah, yeah, being like I'm like, they trying me.
- 1:29:40Speaker 9: When we drafting the first round receiver this year, I
- 1:29:43Speaker 9: thought they was trying me again, trying me again.
- 1:29:47Speaker 2: I think I'm kidding.
- 1:29:48Speaker 4: No, you extended it at this point when they had
- 1:29:51Speaker 4: drafted him.
- 1:29:52Speaker 7: Uh yeah, yeah yeah yeah, oh so you there's no
- 1:29:56Speaker 7: trying you know, we'll just bring in more talent to
- 1:29:59Speaker 7: help him out there.
- 1:30:00Speaker 2: So he was while I was here?
- 1:30:04Speaker 9: Why Michael was here? So No, I actually got extended
- 1:30:08Speaker 9: the year before. I told nice year and then again
- 1:30:10Speaker 9: so that what I got, I got extended the year
- 1:30:12Speaker 9: he got here, and then I got another one.
- 1:30:14Speaker 7: Uh three years later. Congratulations, you're the same year as
- 1:30:20Speaker 7: like you Cory Davis and one other receiver. You guys
- 1:30:25Speaker 7: went like three in a row, right, John Ross John Ross.
- 1:30:28Speaker 2: John retired this year.
- 1:30:30Speaker 7: Every fantasy person was like, this is the guy I'm
- 1:30:33Speaker 7: taking early in. Yeah, yeah, I mean you run a
- 1:30:37Speaker 7: forty like that. You know, the casual washers I said,
- 1:30:39Speaker 7: they're going this is my fucking fantasy correct.
- 1:30:43Speaker 2: Just looking for that when you're coming out.
- 1:30:45Speaker 7: Obviously you guys get picked boom boom boom, like three
- 1:30:47Speaker 7: in a row. Are you thinking like there's a little
- 1:30:49Speaker 7: rivalry here?
- 1:30:50Speaker 9: Nah?
- 1:30:51Speaker 2: Me and Corey was training together for the Campine. It's awesome, dude.
- 1:30:54Speaker 10: Yeah he col He cool as fuck. We was training,
- 1:30:57Speaker 10: We was talking about it. I think he had like
- 1:30:59Speaker 10: hurt his ankle or something, so he was just kind
- 1:31:01Speaker 10: of rehabbing their XO. So, yeah, we was talking about it. Uh,
- 1:31:05Speaker 10: we was talking about who's going first.
- 1:31:08Speaker 7: There wasn't a little something there like I want.
- 1:31:09Speaker 10: To go to Tennessee. Tennessee came and worked me out
- 1:31:11Speaker 10: at Clemson. It was like, yeah, we're gonna draft you.
- 1:31:14Speaker 9: That's the crazy thing about the draft. It is why
- 1:31:17Speaker 9: lots of your face you know what I mean, I'm
- 1:31:20Speaker 9: gonna draft you.
- 1:31:20Speaker 2: We love you. If you get to ask this over with,
- 1:31:24Speaker 2: everything was smooth, but yeah went the other direction.
- 1:31:27Speaker 7: Yes, So when the Titans came on, they were the
- 1:31:29Speaker 7: first one to pick right. Yeah, it was That's when
- 1:31:31Speaker 7: the domino effect happened because they took Core and they
- 1:31:35Speaker 7: took Dori.
- 1:31:35Speaker 2: Jafteven six seven. I was seven.
- 1:31:38Speaker 7: Yeah, all that had to hurt after me. Yeah, So
- 1:31:42Speaker 7: how did you feel when they when they say, hey,
- 1:31:44Speaker 7: I'm gonna draft you. Then all of a sudden they
- 1:31:47Speaker 7: take another wide receiver.
- 1:31:49Speaker 2: It wasn't Trivin, it was Tennessee. So I went really tripping.
- 1:31:54Speaker 2: That hurts? Oh that is funny. I was really Trivia.
- 1:31:58Speaker 2: I mean Philip Rivers. Yeah, a good situation. Talk about
- 1:32:04Speaker 2: Philip Rivers. Great.
- 1:32:07Speaker 4: Obviously never got a chance to win the Super Bowl.
- 1:32:09Speaker 1: We talk about Phil and then obviously the difference, the
- 1:32:11Speaker 1: differences with him and and justin.
- 1:32:15Speaker 9: Like I said, being a coach on the field, Phil
- 1:32:17Speaker 9: was definitely he ran the whole offense, like meeting room,
- 1:32:23Speaker 9: everything go through Phil. Uh, changing players at the line
- 1:32:26Speaker 9: field here to play, come in the helmet.
- 1:32:29Speaker 2: No, we ain't running that.
- 1:32:30Speaker 9: He changed changed the whole play. Uh yeah, without feel
- 1:32:34Speaker 9: I ain't.
- 1:32:35Speaker 2: I ain't. I ain't I ain't.
- 1:32:36Speaker 9: I ain't I probably not here right now. Yeah, Phiel
- 1:32:40Speaker 9: was the guy man for sure.
- 1:32:41Speaker 7: How long did it take you too to get that
- 1:32:43Speaker 7: kind of connection where you're like, this is my dude, Probably.
- 1:32:46Speaker 9: About halfway through my rookie season, say your rookie year
- 1:32:49Speaker 9: was My rookie year was solid. I wasn't even gonna
- 1:32:52Speaker 9: play like that. But then Malcolm Floyd got hurt. Then
- 1:32:54Speaker 9: I got right in and I was kind of the
- 1:32:57Speaker 9: number one. Uh it was Malcolm Andie Roy. He had
- 1:33:00Speaker 9: like a toe injury or something like that, so he
- 1:33:02Speaker 9: didn't play that much. So it's really just me and
- 1:33:04Speaker 9: Gates and Danny Woodhead.
- 1:33:06Speaker 2: So he would that's right, man, damn oh, I would
- 1:33:11Speaker 2: hear that. Philip Rivers.
- 1:33:12Speaker 1: I don't know how far away he lived, but he
- 1:33:14Speaker 1: would be like watching film and doing everything on his car.
- 1:33:16Speaker 2: Right.
- 1:33:17Speaker 9: Yeah, he went from here to San Diego, so his
- 1:33:20Speaker 9: whole ride is film study.
- 1:33:22Speaker 2: He just had a driver in a spinner van.
- 1:33:24Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:33:24Speaker 2: I'm pretty sure he living like Enciinnita's or something like that.
- 1:33:26Speaker 9: Carls Back, Yeah, Rancho Rancho Center.
- 1:33:28Speaker 2: I think an hour drive. Yeah, for sure, he ran
- 1:33:30Speaker 2: back man Field.
- 1:33:31Speaker 9: Lead a game we play Sunday away we get on
- 1:33:34Speaker 9: the bus. He already film study and breaking down the
- 1:33:36Speaker 9: blitz Blitz tape next team.
- 1:33:38Speaker 2: That's fucking wild. He playing around.
- 1:33:40Speaker 9: He wasn't because he got to run the Blitz meet.
- 1:33:43Speaker 7: He's got to run the So he's studying film for
- 1:33:44Speaker 7: the next week already, he's got to do the blitz.
- 1:33:46Speaker 7: He already put that one in the past. When you
- 1:33:48Speaker 7: guys got the bus. How do you guys feel when
- 1:33:50Speaker 7: you're coming back from plays and you might not have
- 1:33:52Speaker 7: the best game, Like, how how quick are you to
- 1:33:53Speaker 7: watch that film?
- 1:33:55Speaker 2: I probably won't watch it.
- 1:33:56Speaker 7: You won't watch it really if.
- 1:33:59Speaker 2: I had a back game.
- 1:34:00Speaker 7: Yeah, So for me, if I had a bad game,
- 1:34:01Speaker 7: I would literally be on that plane essentially in a
- 1:34:04Speaker 7: blender in a blender ye, just sitting there mentally like
- 1:34:07Speaker 7: what the funk happened to you? Myself for the hour
- 1:34:10Speaker 7: flight Mason.
- 1:34:11Speaker 9: I've been doing essence like high school. Though, you have
- 1:34:13Speaker 9: those a couple of bad plays and then all you
- 1:34:14Speaker 9: think about is the bad place some five touchdowns, But
- 1:34:17Speaker 9: damn I could have caught that one though.
- 1:34:18Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:34:19Speaker 7: Yeah, all the time, and it's a mental warfare for sure.
- 1:34:22Speaker 7: But I feel like people don't understand, like the NFL
- 1:34:24Speaker 7: is really like, you know, to show up on Sundays
- 1:34:26Speaker 7: and play like I feel like the casual fan still
- 1:34:27Speaker 7: doesn't know that. No, and you go and you have
- 1:34:29Speaker 7: a bad game or a game you don't want this,
- 1:34:31Speaker 7: this is going to be the one. You see the
- 1:34:33Speaker 7: matchup and you're like, I'm going to fucking end this game. Yeah,
- 1:34:35Speaker 7: and then it goes to the exact opposite and you're
- 1:34:37Speaker 7: like trying to reseat the season fraud Is it over?
- 1:34:40Speaker 2: Phrasy? What was it like for you? Your perspective? Philip
- 1:34:43Speaker 2: Rivers uh similar Uh.
- 1:34:47Speaker 10: I felt like he's someone I needed coming in as
- 1:34:49Speaker 10: a rookie, just somebody who was future Hall of Famer. Uh,
- 1:34:55Speaker 10: having a guy like Keenan and kind of take a
- 1:34:56Speaker 10: lot of pressure, you know off my game just now
- 1:35:00Speaker 10: getting all that attention. But yeah, Philip Rivers was like
- 1:35:03Speaker 10: somebody that you can go to about anything, you know,
- 1:35:06Speaker 10: film study, routes, whatever. I feel like he was a
- 1:35:11Speaker 10: coach also like him, like Philip Riverles was just to go.
- 1:35:16Speaker 10: He knew the offense so well. It was like, it's crazy,
- 1:35:19Speaker 10: what are the differences with him and Justin Herbert.
- 1:35:22Speaker 2: I think experience at this point.
- 1:35:25Speaker 9: When I got with him, I think he was on
- 1:35:27Speaker 9: year ten or eleven, so he already ten years in playoffs.
- 1:35:31Speaker 9: The boys was going like fourteen and two every year.
- 1:35:34Speaker 9: Back back to LT and them. They was crazy back then,
- 1:35:37Speaker 9: so I think definitely experienced. He knew every defense, anything
- 1:35:40Speaker 9: you could throw at him. He knew the whole offense.
- 1:35:44Speaker 9: So we changing players at the line, like, I don't
- 1:35:46Speaker 9: even know what played checking too?
- 1:35:48Speaker 2: What's that?
- 1:35:49Speaker 10: Bro?
- 1:35:49Speaker 6: I don't know.
- 1:35:50Speaker 2: I don't know, bro, this is what to do? I
- 1:35:51Speaker 2: don't know.
- 1:35:52Speaker 1: I mean it was crazy, and dip pointed, how disappointing
- 1:35:55Speaker 1: is it when you guys it feels like you have
- 1:35:58Speaker 1: great regular seasons, you get super close, you lose a
- 1:36:01Speaker 1: close one in the playoffs.
- 1:36:02Speaker 4: It seemed like for a minute there, a year in
- 1:36:04Speaker 4: and year out.
- 1:36:04Speaker 2: Yeah, it's tough.
- 1:36:06Speaker 9: Actually, see Sean maryon do an interview the other day,
- 1:36:08Speaker 9: he was saying, for them to get for for us
- 1:36:10Speaker 9: to get to the playoffs, we got to go through
- 1:36:12Speaker 9: Tom Brady, Ben Roethlisberger. Uh well, now it's Pat Mahomes,
- 1:36:18Speaker 9: Joe Burrow, Josh Allen like these the guys we gotta
- 1:36:21Speaker 9: get past. So, I mean, it ain't like we're playing
- 1:36:23Speaker 9: against Division two teams and we just thinking it up right.
- 1:36:26Speaker 9: We were playing against some good guys and last year
- 1:36:28Speaker 9: we lost to Trevor Lawrence.
- 1:36:30Speaker 2: He's a great guy too, so on the comeback, while
- 1:36:37Speaker 2: come back, he come back.
- 1:36:38Speaker 9: He never supposed to get high like that. That was
- 1:36:39Speaker 9: when Steph Cray Ship like just got hot. Like we
- 1:36:43Speaker 9: didn't get a stop offense. We couldn't do ship. So
- 1:36:46Speaker 9: it can be like that, man, any any.
- 1:36:48Speaker 7: Giving you had to go in the halftime being like,
- 1:36:51Speaker 7: damn we boys, we had no route here.
- 1:36:53Speaker 9: We're one touchdown in the first half and we had
- 1:36:55Speaker 9: like five turnovers. So it wasn't it wasn't you were
- 1:36:59Speaker 9: playing so bad?
- 1:37:00Speaker 2: Yeah they were, they were. Yeah, I don't know. It
- 1:37:03Speaker 2: was one of those ones. Man. Yeah, that's gotta be tough. Uh.
- 1:37:08Speaker 4: What's it like playing for coach Daley? And do you
- 1:37:10Speaker 4: love going for it as much as you guys?
- 1:37:12Speaker 2: Do? I love it? Yeah? Yeah, we love it for sure.
- 1:37:14Speaker 9: It's another opp you know, we get another opp It's uh,
- 1:37:19Speaker 9: we want the ball, man, Like we want the ball.
- 1:37:21Speaker 9: We want to lose with the ball in our hands,
- 1:37:23Speaker 9: and uh that's what we want to do.
- 1:37:25Speaker 1: Y'all are always ready to go for it when he's
- 1:37:28Speaker 1: being aggressive because he obviously he'll take a lot of
- 1:37:30Speaker 1: heat whenever it doesn't work out and it costs a
- 1:37:32Speaker 1: game or whatnot. But are you guys as offensive players? Like,
- 1:37:36Speaker 1: are you guys always like hell yeah, let's drop another thing.
- 1:37:39Speaker 9: So once he once he makes the call, it's like, oh, yeah,
- 1:37:42Speaker 9: for sure, we're going for it. It might be sometimes
- 1:37:44Speaker 9: before the car it's like, damn, we gotta punt all.
