Planning a trip to the Gila National Forest? Two popular campgrounds, Bighorn and Cosmic, are shutting down August 24th for new shade structures—expect heavy equipment and no access until at least August 29th. Don’t cancel your adventure: head instead to open Cottonwood Campground or explore dispersed camping along FS roads, but always pack out everything and make sure fires are fully extinguished.
