- 0:01Bronco's gun dry be back ye blind set again. We are back sixty one
- 0:14because the last one two got you. So I did say sixty two there.
- 0:20It says sixty anyway real quick before we get into yeah, it's says
- 0:25sixty two up there. But before we get me and Me and Quincy was
- 0:28just saying the hundred's episode has to be live. Whatever, we got to
- 0:32figure it out episode here. We can do it live on Twitter, we
- 0:36can do it live. There's a couple options we can do it. Oh
- 0:38no, I mean like we mean in person together, in the same in
- 0:41the same room. Yeah, we gotta make a trip. We gotta make
- 0:43a trip out of it, for sure. I'll be I was with me
- 0:47and me moving back to Orlando. Me and you less can take a trip
- 0:50to Quincy whenever you want. It's gonna be super easy because I lived there,
- 0:53and then when when Quincy comes down, We're both gonna be there.
- 0:56So I think it's gonna allow for collaboration a lot more now that I'm been
- 1:00back on that side. Yeah. Facts, I've been doing yoga every morning
- 1:04like I've been. I've been on it. Bro. That's dope, and
- 1:10like it really do like just like force you to kind of be more like
- 1:15just quiet and in the zone. And it's been making me like not want
- 1:19to watch like TV after I finish, you know what I mean. Like
- 1:23it's super dope. Yeah, And I've just been like mad disconnected like ever
- 1:30since I started doing it, you know what I mean. It's it's been
- 1:33real dope. I've been slacking on yoga for a long time. I'm my
- 1:36flexibility is horrible, so I should have been on. I knew I should
- 1:38have been doing it, you know what I mean, But I was just
- 1:42being lazy even now. But look at it. I actually, like I
- 1:45said, you got me back into it. Have a every weekend four am
- 1:49to four thirty stretcher yoga like you got. You gotta build up that habit.
- 1:53If not same thing, but I can. I can't cut my toenails
- 1:57without like moving my leg all the way over here to the side. I
- 2:00can't just beendible. How did how did you get into it? Just YouTube
- 2:07or what? So funny enough, my wife had bought a book, a
- 2:14yoga book from Barnes and Noble back in the day, the one that is
- 2:15specifically in Waterford that's not even there anymore. That's how, you know,
- 2:20how long? Yeah, that's why store now And she just never really got
- 2:24around to it, and like I forgot what reason it was. I think
- 2:30it was just the fact that, you know, we just needed to do
- 2:32something active, you know what I mean, especially like with like the way
- 2:38things have been, like it's we've just been like mad busy, and like
- 2:42I've been skateboarding again, and that was part of it too, like just
- 2:46getting into the yoga just to keep my body a little more limber and stuff.
- 2:49But like even with the skateboarding, I'm not able to really like find
- 2:52the time to go to the park so much, you know what I mean.
- 2:54So I wanted to at least do the yoga in the morning. And
- 2:57I'm riding the bikes with a size too. But I don't even know how
- 3:01we got into it, but we've been doing it from that book though.
- 3:04It's just like a book that gives you like a little introduction to like you
- 3:08know, the concepts behind it, you know, breathing techniques, like what
- 3:12kind of mine, that's what it's about. It's it's about it's learning how
- 3:15to breathe and addition, to get the blood flowing for the flexibility for sure,
- 3:20but that prevents accidents like everybody's super tight pause and your skateboard and you
- 3:24fall that that that that risk for injury is so much higher than if your
- 3:29body was a little more flexible limber, like you said, you could just
- 3:30like roll out of it, even with the skateboard and like so much of
- 3:35it is bringing your legs up. You know what I mean, ain't you?
- 3:37But that thing all over the place of this one, you know what.
- 3:45I heard a story about Tom Brady and it was like a big linebacker
- 3:50dude, y'all will know him. I just can't remember his name, but
- 3:53he said maybe it was warrant that I don't remember, but he said,
- 3:55like when he hit Tom Brady, it felt like you smacked the pillow and
- 3:59landed on the pillow because the second you touched him, his body would just
- 4:01go like limber. And that's why that that's why he was so and except
- 4:08for that that that leg injury, like he was so reliable, sustainable because
- 4:13he learned how to take the hits and put his body in the position where
- 4:16he's not gonna because people kind of go stiff and then that's when you fall,
- 4:19and that's when you fucking break. No, specifically the flexibility, but
- 4:24that concept that you're talking about and just that that limberness that he has.
- 4:28He he credits that specifically as to what you know, extended his career yet
- 4:34effective in his later years, like because he had a big, big focus
- 4:39on that like flexibilities and like it's funny because Skip Bayless used to always saying
- 4:44like the elongating of the muscles as opposed to like working out to like make
- 4:48him pump or whatever. Like it's like a whole like like science behind it,
- 4:53you know what I mean. M Yeah, Yo, it's important.
- 4:58I think one thing I the next step above yoga that I had never tried
- 5:01that I heard was just as gratified almost. It's meditation. I don't think
- 5:06my brain is that peaceful, though it can get there. I'm on and
- 5:12off of meditation for sure. Yeah yeah, oh yeah, Okay. I
- 5:15used to do uh sleep meditation as well, you know what I'm saying.
- 5:21So I would do like regular meditation and then like basically like meditation to like
- 5:26go into deep sleep and stuff like that. It works, It definitely works.
- 5:30Yeah. There there's like I've heard I haven't like tried any of it,
- 5:34but I did hear that there's a certain kind of meditation techniques that can
- 5:40put you into that r M, which is that really deep sleep where you
- 5:42have like the real crazy dreams and stuff. Yeah, that's what we got
- 5:46into Joe too. Yeah, yeah, what was it? What was it
- 5:49about that we were talking? So the lucid dreaming, it's going So you
- 5:56have to go through sleep paralysis in order to get to the lucid dreaming.
- 6:00So there's steps like where you have to you have to lay flat on your
- 6:02back, it has to be completely dark, and instead of like just closing
- 6:09your eyes and go to sleep, you kind of have to close your eyes
- 6:11and look at the inside of your eyelids. Like That's how it works because
- 6:15it's keeping your brain alert, like you're forcing the brain. Your brain is
- 6:19still do something, but at the same time, your brain is sending these
- 6:23messages like now this person's falling asleep. Like so it's the mixture of falling
- 6:28asleep and being awake while you're falling asleep. And I do it all the
- 6:30time, Like I get caught and sleeper out and said, bro, and
- 6:33I have to like fight myself to get out. I'm like, come on,
- 6:35just wake up. Or like you literally feel like someone's just holding you
- 6:39down, can't arm up, can't scream. Sometimes I try to scream for
- 6:44sure. When I was like I want to say, it was like six
- 6:46seventh grade, I remember at getting that. Yeah, I do that a
- 6:48lot. Like sometimes I do it accidentally on purpose, just because, like
- 6:54if it's a slow day at work and it's like five in the morning,
- 6:56like I'll lay down on the couch and I don't have to stay awake just
- 6:59in case they get like a message or something. At the same time,
- 7:00I'm tired, so I'm falling asleep, and I'll catch myself right in a
- 7:03sleeparalysis right there all the time. Bro, that's crazy. I try to
- 7:08like yell at my wife like me, Yeah, it feels like you're like
- 7:13wrapped tightly in like a lap code and you're just like trying to break out
- 7:16of it. Like and I finally wake up and like stand up, like
- 7:21I'm not falling back to sleeping alom where I hate that. I hate that.
- 7:24But yeah, there's a rather certain So what it is is you don't
- 7:28know when you're in a dream, right, That's the hardest part. When
- 7:31you know you're in a dream, that's when you can control it. But
- 7:34think about it. We have realistic as dreams, but it feels so real,
- 7:40right, like you're really in it, like it's really happening. But
- 7:44when you think about it, when you wake up, like there's no way
- 7:46that would ever happen in real life. Like, but when you're in it,
- 7:48you don't know, right, right, you do these little exercises throughout
- 7:51the day, right, and you're like, you're like pretty much just trying
- 7:55to put your This is like one of the examples of the one you try
- 7:59to put your finger through hand, do it a few times throughout the day,
- 8:03like just to randomly do it. So when you're in your dream and
- 8:05you try to put your finger through your hand, it's gonna go through your
- 8:07hand, and that's how you're gonna know you're in a dream. So it's
- 8:11literally building up a subsconscious message to yourself. So when you're in your dream,
- 8:16you trigger it and lets you know you're in your dream. You know
- 8:18you're in your dream, and then you're literally control. That's when people say
- 8:22they have like the auto body experiences, like they're flying. I have a
- 8:24flying dreams all the time, bro, just flying through my neighborhood. It's
- 8:28not that that's all the stuff that I was telling you guys about before that
- 8:33I prebosely try to do sometimes just see if I can do it. There's
- 8:35people who do do it. Do to it, do now, But it'd
- 8:41be super dope being just tapped into like those types of things and just understanding
- 8:48like the places your mind can go and how like how deep really it is
- 8:54and just bro, like I've been just on like a crazy like ever since
- 8:58I stop watching the Larry Sanders show. Bro, I haven't been wanting to
- 9:01watch nothing, Like I just like either keep the TV off, but if
- 9:05I watch them, I watch like some crazy like science thing, you know
- 9:09what I mean. And then like I've been like watching stuff about like black
- 9:13holes, quantum physics, you know, the ancient aliens thing. Yeah,
- 9:20just I'm just like kind of like taking all that in and even like what
- 9:24you said, and it's just kind of crazy, like how how much there
- 9:28really is like out there to kind of give you like that perspective, you
- 9:33know what I mean. And even like one of the things I was listening
- 9:37to was this guy that was basically like an astro physicist, and he was
- 9:39just saying that one of the things that separates humans from everybody else is like
- 9:45that awareness of time and the like awareness that there's more going on, you
- 9:50know what I mean, Like the concept of tomorrow and what's coming tomorrow is
- 9:56like one of the main things that separates us from like other animals on the
- 10:00planet, you know what I mean, because most animals they don't have a
- 10:03concept of it. Yeah, they're not pushing it off to tomorrow and they're
- 10:05like, oh, we'll go pick some fruit tomorrow. That's why that movie
- 10:09Limitless was so big to me, because you know, we only use like
- 10:13well fifteen percent of our brains or whatever they say, and just imagine being
- 10:18able to unlock your entire brain and completely control everything like who knows brou Yeah,
- 10:24No, that movie was hard. Yeah. I definitely feel like there's
- 10:28a lot of limitations even that we put on ourselves, like even subconsciously,
- 10:35like even the things that we eat, the kind of life that we're leading,
- 10:39you know what I mean, Because that's like a big thing too,
- 10:41that like I'm always like hyper aware of It's like every part of my day,
- 10:46what am I doing? You know, what am I really doing?
- 10:50Because I heard Joe Roewen talking about this, like you like if you put
- 10:56the weeks of your life like on like a like a paper, like like
- 11:00a poster or something, like, it's all there, bro, and you
- 11:03look at it and it's not that much, bro, you know what I'm
- 11:05saying, Like it's really like you could cross some things off like every week
- 11:09and you see, like, oh my gosh, bro, Like this is
- 11:11kind of crazy and like to some people that might be like a crazy concept,
- 11:15but to me, it's just like the idea that bro, like you
- 11:18gotta be meaningful and intentional like with stuff that you do, you know what
- 11:22I mean, Like the more you even dig into like all the stuff that
- 11:26we're discovering that is not even like we're discovering stuff that's still just like scratching
- 11:31the surface of what's in the realm of possibility, you know what I mean.
- 11:35So it's just so it's just so much to me, it's like it's
- 11:39so much craziness that it's like I don't have time to be like trapped in
- 11:46the minutia of life, you know what I mean. Like that's kind of
- 11:50like how I like envision stuff, and that'd be like that constant balance that
- 11:56I feel like people like us, like as far as everybody that's living right
- 11:58now now, like the world that we was like pretty much given is so
- 12:03much different as far as how we lead our lives as you know, previous
- 12:09generations, even up to twenty years ago, you know what I'm saying,
- 12:11Like so much has changed and so much is important now that's really nothing,
- 12:15you know what I'm right. Like, it's kind of like that whole like
- 12:18bitcoin and and you know nft thing. It's like, I don't I never
- 12:24argued with the money part of it or whatever or people that people make money,
- 12:28Like I don't get into that kind of stuff because to me, I
- 12:31don't. I don't care about money that much, you know what I mean.
- 12:33So to me, it's more like wow, like we really just created
- 12:37stuff out of thin air and assigned it a value that's not even a thing.
- 12:41Like there's so many other things going on and so many other things that
- 12:45are to me more valuable that we're put into the side to just create these
- 12:50things that really hold no value and putting them on a pedestal, Like it's
- 12:54it's just it's crazy to me, you know what I mean. And that's
- 12:56what happens a lot, just even like even with money, Like I was
- 13:00saying, like, obviously we're in that situation where everybody needs and we need
- 13:03to attain as much as we can to be at the most piece that we
- 13:07can be. But there's ways to do it that's intentional and that alns with
- 13:13like what you're really here to do, you know what I mean? Yep,
- 13:16facts, it's us about what we prioritized, like I feel like now
- 13:20now things and it kind of comes back to us full circle, which is
- 13:24why we don't get the quality of entertainment that you know was once you know,
- 13:30provided like obviously we have more access to entertainment. You know, there's
- 13:33way more avenues. But you know, if you look at, for example,
- 13:37cartoons, you know what I'm saying, from the nineties and two thousands,
- 13:41today's cartoons don't compare, you know what I'm saying. It's like we
- 13:43just the lack of appreciation for certain things kind of trickles over where. It's
- 13:48like even creators don't even put the same amount of effort into creating you know
- 13:54what I mean. The formulas too, you know what I mean, rarely
- 13:56are like we all get trapped in the in the thing where like, rarely
- 14:01are we just creating just to create, just to make something that we truly
- 14:05enjoy and put out just and if people like it, they like it.
- 14:09If they don't, they don't like. Everybody so attached to the numbers,
- 14:11Everybody so attached to the impressions, you know, the algorithm, all those
- 14:16details, and I do everybody does it, you know what I mean.
- 14:20But you know, at the end of the day, you know, ninety
- 14:24percent of the people that you hear that really like took it to like a
- 14:28certain level. At the end of the day, they just said, brou
- 14:31I'm gonna get really good at what I do and do it the way that
- 14:33I am imagine in my head that I want to do it, And That's
- 14:37what I'm gonna care about. That's what Kanye did. He wasn't trying to
- 14:41none of his music. He was trying to make any of it to impress
- 14:43anybody. He just had a sound in his head and he wanted it to
- 14:48hear a sound a certain way, and he wasn't gonna stop until it sounded
- 14:52the way that he wanted it to sound. Yeah, you don't care about
- 14:54busting down on royalties and splits with people because if he feels like the song
- 15:00needs this one person to say one word, and that person is going to
- 15:03ask for fifteen percent on the song and that's what he has to do to
- 15:07make it happen, and that because that's how he hears the song. Bro,
- 15:09he'll do it. Yeah, you know what I mean, And that's
- 15:13it. Go ahead, No, no, no, I was gonna say,
- 15:16like, that's the approach I had with when I started creating these mixes.
- 15:20I remember, and then you asked me it was off the show,
- 15:22but you asked me if anybody's like talked about it and stuff like, I
- 15:26could really I couldn't care less about anybody thinks until I think it's good.
- 15:30So you guys sit here and tell me how good you think it is.
- 15:33If I don't think it's good, it's not good yet. And when I
- 15:35get there, I'll do it. So I'll you know, I'll listen,
- 15:39I'll talk if anybody talks about it. I'm down to hear it. But
- 15:43I know I know what I need to work on and until I until I
- 15:48hear it, how I think it should sound. What everybody else says is
- 15:52not gonna matter to me, even if they's good. Feedback. Yeah,
- 15:56And I even feel like a lot of people don't even know how to give
- 16:00correct feedback when it comes to things like that, because you always have to
- 16:04take into take into account all the variables in the situation that you're aware of,
- 16:10you know what I'm saying, Like, especially like with music anything like
- 16:12that, Like if you have a new artist and it's like their first time
- 16:18in the studio, you're not judging it on the scale that you would judge
- 16:22like one of your favorite artists music dropping, you know what i mean.
- 16:26We're in an era now that you have to show the growth too, you
- 16:30know what I mean. Before artists was getting polished and then they was coming
- 16:33out with just their most Like the first thing you heard from an artists was
- 16:37their most fire ship, like their best produced, most fire like the project
- 16:41they've been working on their whole life like that, No more, you know
- 16:45what I'm saying. Like and and that detail, I feel like it gets
- 16:49lost a lot of people when they're giving their feedback, you know what I'm
- 16:52saying, because it's like you gotta consider those kind of things like where what
- 16:56position they're at. Like whenever I get feedback on stuff like that, I'm
- 17:00just more looking for if you got the ear and if if I can hear
- 17:06this becoming something dope, you know what I'm saying, because I know in
- 17:10the very beginning stage it's not gonna be that finished product that polished like oh
- 17:14my gosh, this is you know, DJ Jazzy Jeff level, you know
- 17:17what I mean, Like, it's not gonna happen. You got you gotta
- 17:19look at on the scale and projected, projected out, you know what I
- 17:22mean. Yeah, And that that was the best advice you probably gave me
- 17:26before I even like six months before I did it, Like you're like,
- 17:29we all know you're not like a season DJ who's been DJ in his whole
- 17:33life doing this shit forever, Like we're not expecting to hear something come out
- 17:37like that. And that's why I was like, yeah, I'm really not
- 17:40so so that's kind of like a bar that I set myself. I need
- 17:44a lower but still just knowing the quality of ear that I have and how
- 17:49little shit just would trigger me and if somebody else was doing it when I'm
- 17:53doing it triggers me to I'm like, nah, I can't do that,
- 17:56bro, Like I didn't. I should have done that different, but at
- 17:59the same time, it's just it's a process and the more you do it,
- 18:02but you definitely need to stay tapped into that feeling because that's what's gonna
- 18:04like, that's the spark. That's part of why your mixes are good,
- 18:08you know what I'm saying, because even though you're at this point, you're
- 18:12still trying to make sure it sounds on the level of what other people are
- 18:15doing, and you're conscious of that, and you're chasing that. You always,
- 18:19you know what I mean, not because you're gonna want to sound like
- 18:22somebody else or you want to quote unquote be on that level. You just
- 18:26want to be that comfortable with yourself like that. That's what a lot of
- 18:30people don't like. I feel like comedians are real good about recognizing that in
- 18:36other comedians, Like they a lot of times they don't really envy the jokes.
- 18:41They don't really envy, you know, the word play like it's it's
- 18:45not the stuff that somebody would think they envy from another comedian. A lot
- 18:48of times they envy their poison on stage delivery of it. They exactly,
- 18:53they envy the way they're able to maintain their tone. You know what I
- 18:56mean, what they envy is those little in between things that makes them them.
- 19:02And it's like, nah, bro, you're gonna have those things for
- 19:04you as long as you're good, those things are gonna just build for you,
- 19:07you know what I mean. And then people are gonna look at you
- 19:11and be like oh dang, like they're gonna envy those little in between things
- 19:15for you, and you're not even gonna regolize it, you know what I
- 19:17mean. That's the funny thing about being an artist, bro, Like you're
- 19:19always chasing that next level, and then like you're never you don't ever recognize
- 19:26that you're on that next level because you're still looking at the next level.
- 19:29Yeah right, you know what I mean. And somebody might be looking at
- 19:32you like dang, bro, like you on one, and it's like,
- 19:33nah, I'm not on one because I'm not there yet, you know what
- 19:36I mean. Like there's a lot of artists that you will hear them after
- 19:38they make like a certain album, like they're they're not that they're content,
- 19:42but they know that they made a masterpiece, so they're creating from a different
- 19:47place, you know what i mean. They're you know, That's why I
- 19:49like a lot of a lot of artists sometimes well they'll even experiment and like
- 19:53you like, Kendrick does it a lot, like he'll come out of left
- 19:56field with like the next thing. But dog, he's a real artist.
- 19:59You know. I'm saying he's not gonna make another good kid. He's not
- 20:03gonna make another good kid masterity. Why because he already made it. Bro.
- 20:07He made it a masterpiece. It captured that feeling. It his story,
- 20:11you know what I mean. He don't got another story, Bro,
- 20:14He's Kendrick. That's his story. You know, everything everything else that fuel
- 20:18changed after that exactly. It's like the same thing with fifty, like you
- 20:22know back in the day, Like I feel like it's it's definitely changing now,
- 20:26which is super dope. I think the Hip Hop fifty Anniversary is like
- 20:30a thing that's been opening people's eyes. But like you know, a few
- 20:33yeah, I got some moments going to the show. Yeah, but a
- 20:37few years ago people people was talking about fifty like he was washed, like
- 20:41oh, he can't make music now. But it's like why like why would
- 20:45he need to? Why does why? Why does he need a show that
- 20:48he can hang with people now? Like he already did a masterpiece. You
- 20:52know. You know what's funny how they do that too, Like I think
- 20:56majority hip hop industry, uh, because the R and B industry. You
- 21:02got one twelve boys to mail, all these all these fulls touring with their
- 21:04old music. You got YouTube being the first people to have a show at
- 21:11the MSG Spear playing their old music. Like these people are just making the
- 21:15rest of live and never have to make new music again, just singing their
- 21:18classic shit. If you have classic shit, you can ride the rest of
- 21:22your life out with that. Yeah, it's the it's the culture, brou
- 21:26at the end of the day, it's the culture because we just eat our
- 21:27own brou. Like. It's something that me and Quincy have talked about before.
- 21:32I don't know if we've talked about it on the podcast, but we've
- 21:34definitely talked about it with you Joe and just personal you know, me and
- 21:37him, like just going to the studios and coming with a with an energy
- 21:42of like yo, what's up? Like we're all we're all artists that are
- 21:45all on the same level trying to go for the same goal, So like
- 21:48what can we do and everybody stand offish? Oh nah, you know,
- 21:52like people feel kind of I'm not I'm not gonna say Hollywood, but like
- 21:56they just look at themselves a certain way and they feel like they have to
- 22:00put a lot of parameters around like how they operate, like as far as
- 22:04collaborating or like things like that. But it's like, bro, like we
- 22:08all artists on the same plane. We could all help each other. This
- 22:11ain't no, you know, we don't got to define what it is as
- 22:15far as like artists being just friendly period. You know, like they don't
- 22:21have to have a definition. It could just be yo, maybe maybe I'll
- 22:25throw some feedback on what you're doing. You take it or you're not take
- 22:27it. You know, no hard feelings. You know. It's like different
- 22:30little things that can kind of like strengthen a community of artists that a lot
- 22:34of people avoid. And it even kind of leads into like with the with
- 22:38the yoga thing that I was talking about, it just like really gels with
- 22:45just like the spirit of how do you say that, Like just that spirit
- 22:51of of being more focused on your own, Like it kind of puts you
- 22:56more in that zone of not like trying to lean on other people, not
- 23:02really trying to be on something like group think kind of thing. You know
- 23:06what I mean, it's just like, all right, I'm getting in the
- 23:07zone in my mind so I can be laser focused on what I'm doing in
- 23:11my day, you know what I'm saying to really, you know, just
- 23:17break through to that next level and like applying that to what you're doing.
- 23:21If that community is not there, it's like mad crucial, you know what
- 23:25I mean, Because I just feel like a lot of people sometimes they get
- 23:26stuck into looking for support stage, you know what I mean. Like I'm
- 23:30just and like I said, it's it happened with me too, you know
- 23:33what I'm saying. You get to a certain level where your artistry and you're
- 23:34like, oh, man, like I put in all this work where the
- 23:37people at But it's like you on the right path. You're doing what you
- 23:41need to be doing. Just keep doing that. The support will get there
- 23:45when whoever those people are feel like it's warranted, you know what I mean.
- 23:51Obviously sometimes you would feel you would want certain people to jump on a
- 23:55little sooner, but that's jay journey, not yours. You know what I
- 23:59mean. What you're doing is you're trying to get to that next point to
- 24:03make you know, those those demographics saying with what you're doing and really be
- 24:08focused on what you're doing, because you're putting that much working, you're really
- 24:12coming with a certain point of view that's unique and it's it's a dope sound
- 24:18or whatever it is, you know what I mean. Yeah, not that's
- 24:22facts, Like I don't know, man, I think that that's that's one
- 24:26of the things that's like I feel like you got to kind of grow into
- 24:30or at least be taught it, you know what I'm saying, Like,
- 24:33I feel like there's a lot of people that go their entire lives and don't
- 24:36get to that place, you know, And I'm I guess I could say
- 24:41thankful that I've gotten to a point of record at least recognition, even if
- 24:44I'm not like super super intuitive when it comes to it, like, you
- 24:48know, at least a point where I can recognize like, you know,
- 24:53individual thought, you know what I'm saying, Like just just being aware of
- 24:56like group thinking situations and not getting caught up with like you know, the
- 25:02cancel culture. I guess you could call it, you know what I'm saying,
- 25:03Like I feel like that's such a group think, you know thing that
- 25:07like people don't even realize that that's being a part of group thinking, Like
- 25:11that's you know what I mean, It's like it's weird, man, It's
- 25:14really weird. Yeah. Yeah, I feel like it has a lot to
- 25:17do with just like, at least for me, Like how I kind of
- 25:21manage all that is like constantly checking myself, you know what I mean,
- 25:23like always having a mantra in your head and knowing you know what I'm saying,
- 25:29Like it's just it's just that thing I was talking about at the beginning,
- 25:30like all the crazy things that happen, all the things that go on,
- 25:34all the things that can like things that we're on the cusp of achieving
- 25:40as as just as people, and just breakthroughs to have happened and will happen.
- 25:45How much ahead we are now compared to let's say, one hundred years
- 25:48ago, Like even the fact that we live in a time where there was
- 25:51so much technological advancement compared to other errors, you know what I mean.
- 25:56Like it's just a crazy thing to think about. And it's like always kind
- 26:00of keeping that in scale, So you're always thinking to yourself, like,
- 26:03all right, there's so much going on, what am I doing to make
- 26:07sure that what I got going on is the is gonna fulfill me to the
- 26:11best ability that I can. You know what I mean, because it's something
- 26:17we talk about all the time, like at the end of the day,
- 26:19like you the only one worrying about you. And again, this is not
- 26:22like like a bitterness type thing. This is not like an old fuck everybody
- 26:26type thing. It's just understanding that you even fail yourself. So people are
- 26:32gonna feel That's what that's like. You gotta time all the time, bro,
- 26:37We all let ourselves down all the time. For us to think that
- 26:41people aren't gonna let us down, it's crazy, It's literally crazy. And
- 26:45I feel like a lot of people just don't understand that detail. And part
- 26:48of it is the how do you say it, like the obliviousness, the
- 26:53obliviousness of not knowing that you feel yourself as well, you know what I
- 26:57mean. Nobody's you know, maybe some people are whatever, but you know,
- 27:04nobody's maximizing their time to their best ability all the time and just always
- 27:10making the right decisions, you know what I mean. There's always something that's
- 27:12gonna fall by the wayside, you know. Me and Joe was talking about
- 27:17it before, about Rodney Mullen I shared something I believe on TikTok and or
- 27:22Facebook or Instagram and he commented on it. And Ronney Mullin's just like a
- 27:26skateboarder from back in the day. He was one of the inter He invented
- 27:29a lot of the moves, like I believe he was part of the crew
- 27:33that invented the ali, like the basic movement skateboarding, Like there are a
- 27:37lot of the flip tricks. Like he really is like like a skateboard and
- 27:41savant. But but he'll say himself in interviews that to get to that level
- 27:48of mastery on the skateboard, he had to let a lot of things slide,
- 27:52like time with family, you know what I'm saying, other other avenues,
- 27:56just other things that he just didn't dedicate anytime too because he was focused
- 28:00on master and that thing. Yeah, you know what I mean. And
- 28:03then his story is crazy, that's exactly what Like, you know, I
- 28:07talked about her stories and it's you know, raised on a farm. His
- 28:11older sister was a surfer, but his dad was like skateboarding, Like no
- 28:18way, and he's like no, He's like I fought with this, like
- 28:19this is it for me. This skateboarding's it. And it wasn't until they
- 28:23actually started proving to his own family how good he was that they were like,
- 28:27all, we're gonna ride the skateboard thing out. But they that was
- 28:30the farthest thing they ever expected him or wanted him to do. And if
- 28:34he didn't follow through on his own, without the support of his family,
- 28:37who you know, we wouldn't have the kind of skateboard cutcher there is today,
- 28:42that's for sure. And I'm gonna say this about Rodney Mullen, dog,
- 28:47Rodney Mullen is the only skateboarder, the only one that I know,
- 28:52Like, I don't care if you like skateboarding or not. If I show
- 28:56you his best clips, you're gonna be mom blown broma. Yeah, the
- 29:02only one. There's other ones that are great. I love, for example,
- 29:06like Paul Rodriguez, I love, Nasa Huston, I love you know,
- 29:10there's a lot of great skateboarders and they do amazing things that like if
- 29:14you're a skate boarding fan, you appreciate Tony Hawk, you appreciate it as
- 29:18a skateboarding fan. But Ronnie Morland is one that you don't have to know
- 29:22anything about skateboarding and see him do what he doesn't be like, dog,
- 29:26this guy is ridiculously good anything like as sixteen years old. Bro, Like
- 29:30it's I have one clip that's my favorite him on clip. If he skated
- 29:34like that, that that that was part of his body, he could he
- 29:38couldn't even fall off. You couldn't even see him falling off of it.
- 29:42Bro' you're talking about a guy that And this is the crazy thing too,
- 29:47Like, and it's something that kind of has to do with physics too,
- 29:49because it's like this guy mastered the physics of him on a skateboard. Like
- 29:56he mastered it to a degree that Like I'm like, you have to dedicate
- 30:02so much time and have the aptitude to be able to do what he does,
- 30:06you know what I'm saying, Like you gotta have the vision. You
- 30:07know, it's gonna be bigger than anybody sees it as. Yeah, it's
- 30:11something that like to a certain point, bro, it's like you know,
- 30:15it's it's like defying gravity type stuff, you know what I mean, Like
- 30:18and just like defining the laws of balance even like you're like, bro,
- 30:22how do you have that much balance? That doesn't make any sense? It's
- 30:26ridiculous. Yeah, now Rodney mull is a go for sure. Yeah I
- 30:30worked and I probably say this because no one's gonna tap in who knows it,
- 30:34But yeah, I worked with it as a strange sister. She was
- 30:37an older lady. She was actually my mom's boss for a while. And
- 30:42I don't know it random like because she would never say it. And then
- 30:47randomly we're like, we're like in her office talking about I don't know how
- 30:49it came up, but skateboarding came up and she's like, oh, yeah,
- 30:52you guys know Rodney Mullen. She said, yeah, that's my brother.
- 30:56No, like, no way, Like everybody hit Google. She's like,
- 31:00the only way you're gonna know he's my brother is in his book he
- 31:02wrote. He wrote a book about his life, and that's the only place
- 31:03he talks about her. He wasn't They weren't close at all. He had
- 31:07the oldest sister who did the surfing, but she was a farm lady.
- 31:11She's like a big equestrian lady. She like on her whole life is horses,
- 31:15so she actually starts with the farm life, while the oldest sister and
- 31:21Rodney went to skating and surfboarding and kind of chose that life. So that's
- 31:23why they and the parents ended up favor in that side because of it.
- 31:29Yeah, it's crazy stories. Yeah it's crazy because he even he even has
- 31:34a thing where like, oh I heard Tony Hawk talking about her, Like
- 31:38he doesn't even allow people to video, like to video him that much.
- 31:44Like he's very picky about when he lets people video him skating. Like he's
- 31:51very he's a very very like like like just interesting cat bro like he's just
- 31:57like being one of the biggest people and not even and nobody really knows him
- 32:04because he doesn't care that people know him. But if you're in the game,
- 32:07you know who he is. Yeah, facts shout out to Rodney mullin
- 32:10man. And like I said, if you don't even have to like anything
- 32:15about skateboarding, just look at Rodney mullen highlights on YouTube and you're gonna be
- 32:20like, dog, what what's like? You're not even gonna understand. I'm
- 32:23gonna send y'all wanting the chat once once we're done here, But so what's
- 32:29up with Let's catch up so this you know, we're two we're two weeks
- 32:32since our last recording. UH Quincy has been uh on the road again.
- 32:38Come up. I feel like that chip came out of nowhere, like what
- 32:42you have that trip? Noah, So it's been planned. It's just you
- 32:49know, the years gone by fast man, it's been from like mad months
- 32:52ago, right, yeah, yeah, I mean it's it's actually my fiance's
- 32:59family. They own like three time shares, and so this specific time share,
- 33:02uh, we we go to every year unless you know something's coming,
- 33:08like for example, next year's the wedding, We're not doing it next year.
- 33:12But you know, every year they have like basically two weeks of the
- 33:17time share space and it's basically like, uh what sixteen. If it beds
- 33:24like sixteen, people like, it's huge, and so you know we do
- 33:29that. And yeah, so this was that time. We stayed up in
- 33:32Maryland with our family for the first week and then we went to the time
- 33:35share for the second week. So today we literally just got back home a
- 33:38couple of hours and I'm still trying to transition into like being back home right
- 33:43now. So yeah, you're like, you like just hit your house.
- 33:45You haven't even been home for like three hours in two weeks. Facts man,
- 33:49facts. So but it was cool man. The drive, Like you
- 33:52know, I'm usually good with drives, Like I don't mind driving places.
- 33:58So from us it's about ten hours, and the drive there and back both
- 34:02of them were pretty smooth. Man. You know, we just like basically
- 34:07put our phones like you know how you have like the little docks or whatever.
- 34:08We put our phone on the dock the night before we'll download like a
- 34:12series or something, and we just let that thing play on the surround sound
- 34:15speakers and just vibe you know, through the whole way. So it's cool.
- 34:20Yeah, we use our thing is when we go drive. So when
- 34:22we go like to to Laughlin on like Park City or like any of those
- 34:28hiking places like over there, we we do a murder podcast. Nice because
- 34:32like you're you're driving, so you're focused in bro. It's just like it
- 34:37takes. Yeah, it's good and it makes the trip go like so fast.
- 34:42M hmm. Yeah. But you know, time share has a little
- 34:45stigma behind it, and you know, my wife works in time share,
- 34:50but people who actually use it, like like y'all and actually like take trips
- 34:54and use it. It's worth it, man, It's definitely worth it.
- 34:58And not only that, but it's act actually a great investment if you use
- 35:00it right, you know, what I'm saying, because some people they don't
- 35:02even realize like that they can actually rent out their time share, you know
- 35:07what I mean, and make way more money off of that that like an
- 35:10Airbnb almost you know what I'm saying. So yeah, it's definitely a dope
- 35:15little investment. But I'm not gonna lie. Like I was talking about this
- 35:17with my father in law recently too. Like part of part of that stigma
- 35:22that is on the time share, I feel like it's also because like people
- 35:27don't realize that a timeshare is for people with exposable income, you know what
- 35:31I mean. Yeah, like if you don't, if you're if all your
- 35:36use it, you're not supposed to spend money on luxury stuff, you know
- 35:39what I mean Exactly that that's kind of like something that's lost like on like
- 35:44a lot of people nowadays. I feel like that it's like, bro,
- 35:46if you're if you're on like a like a stringent budget, you don't have
- 35:52room in there for luxury things. I mean wait, I had a buddy
- 35:55buddy coming down and we were driving down the strip and there's place called like
- 36:00the az Tech in Casino, which is like, bro, it's like the
- 36:04Wentworth of casinos because I've been there before. Yeah, I know you're talking
- 36:07about, but that's what he said. Like, if you're coming there and
- 36:12your budget is like that, like you're not even gonna be able to walk
- 36:15through Vegas, right yeah. If that's your full budget is getting in that
- 36:22room and affording that, then you're not you know, Vegas is gonna hit
- 36:24you dog. Yeah. Yeah. And like at the shop, bro,
- 36:30I got a sign shop with my father in law, and we do wraps
- 36:34and stuff like that, and sometimes people come and they're like, Yo,
- 36:37I want to wrap my car. How much is it? It's X amount?
- 36:39Oh my gosh. And how long does it take? Three days?
- 36:43Oh my gosh. Bro, If you don't got that money and you can't
- 36:45be without a car for three days, you should not be here. Not
- 36:50be worried about getting to sign them. Come and like get some kind of
- 36:55customization done to like either their car whatever, like get some kind of like
- 37:00item that like for example, like oh I want to get like ceramic tents
- 37:05on my car. All right, but oh but the back window don't go
- 37:07down and you gotta do to turn it on, like fix that first dred
- 37:15dollars. You're about to spend that. If you just put it into this
- 37:16car, this thing is gonna be running like like nobody's business brou Like,
- 37:22come on man like people. Just like I said, it's a little ramp
- 37:25based off the timeshit thing. But it's like, bruh, if it's not
- 37:29for you, just say that. You know what I'm saying, Like you
- 37:30don't gotta like. That's another thing too, Like I always find funny like
- 37:35people that like leave bad reviews on places or like go back to places that
- 37:39they've had bad experiences at. It's like brou like, go somewhere else,
- 37:43right and like or like people that argue with somebody about a price or something.
- 37:46B if you don't like the price, oh somewhere else on the way
- 37:50here, I was imagine seventy five dollars. I'll be hearing some crazy stuff,
- 37:55some crazy stuff. But that also goes back to the point too of
- 38:01like, just like I said, what people prioritize and like, like,
- 38:06for example, if your car window ain't working in Florida where it's one hundred
- 38:08and eight degrees and you're trying to wrap it with four hundred dollars when you
- 38:13could be fixing your window, your priorities are obviously not where they need to
- 38:16be, you know what I mean? Yeah, bro. And it's funny
- 38:19too because, like you know, there's a lot of people that will come
- 38:23to try to like start a business, you know what I mean, or
- 38:25like you know that they're got they got an idea for something they're trying to
- 38:29get off the ground or whatever. And you just see, like so transparently,
- 38:34how how little people know about business. How how many people think that
- 38:39just because they have an idea and say, hey, I'm doing this now
- 38:44that everybody's just obligated to to you know, do go to their brudness or
- 38:49like or recommend them without a track record, you know what I'm saying.
- 38:52Like, there's there's so much funny stuff. And it's funny because like people
- 38:55find out about the shop and everything. Oh man, Like why you don't
- 39:00advertise that all this is? It's like, bro, because I do business
- 39:04with business people. You know what I'm saying, I don't need to be
- 39:07Not that I don't need to be, but I'm blessed enough that I've put
- 39:10enough working that I don't need to be chasing you know, you know,
- 39:16every single dollar and trying to do anything with anybody or I have to advertise
- 39:22it and try to get people that I know to be you know, patrons
- 39:25to my business. Like, nah, Bro, I'm not in that situation.
- 39:29This is this is a professional thing. If anybody needs anything, this
- 39:32is the number to the shop. And to be honest and what and what
- 39:36I call it's not a social media business. Yeah, and there is aspects
- 39:40of like there's a lot of people that run it that way, you know
- 39:43what I'm saying. There's a lot of things that we do that you know,
- 39:46you can do those little videos and advertising and stuff. But the thing
- 39:50is this, Bro. The type of people that want to do that kind
- 39:52of stuff, you know, get stripes on their hood, you know,
- 39:55do the window tinning and stuff is the people that I'm talking about, people
- 39:59that don't I have disposable income trying to do disposable income things. And yes,
- 40:04this sounds expensive to you because this is not in your price range.
- 40:07Bro, you should not be worrying about this, you know what I'm saying.
- 40:10It's like Louis Vatton and like, damn, this shirt's expensive. Bro.
- 40:15You're not supposed to be at the store. Bro. You have the
- 40:19store, you know, blocks down from this ball brom My daughter said he's
- 40:27supposed to be dressing for less. Ross you feel me like, Bro,
- 40:30and I'm not. I'm not hating on that because I'm the type of person,
- 40:34Bro. I like to live below my means, Like you know what
- 40:36I'm saying. I like to be low maintenance. I don't. I don't
- 40:38like to have a lot of expenses. I don't like to have to worry
- 40:42about a lot of stuff going on. You know what I'm saying. Like
- 40:45I'm a very simple guy. I don't. I don't. I don't need
- 40:47nothing crazy, you know what I mean. So I'm not knocking people that
- 40:51don't go to Louisville or whatever because I don't got nothing louis Vatton Like now,
- 40:55item, Bro, you know what I'm saying. I just you know,
- 40:59for me, there's that that doesn't have value to me. You know
- 41:01what I'm saying. Clothing is clothing, Bro, Like I could finessa.
- 41:07Do you ever see like that? Tell me that you ever look online you
- 41:12see some shit and the influence you like, maybe I need to have like
- 41:15a nice fit. Do you ever get that feeling? I've always been very
- 41:20like I'm not gonna say that I've been like like my my my choices have
- 41:25always been the best. But I've always been into fashion, and like I've
- 41:29always always been real big on wearing stuff that other people don't have. Like
- 41:34that's why I'm really like hitting pop up shops when I'm somewhere. I like
- 41:37to hit up scure things. That's why I like those like random racks to
- 41:43have stuff that's like, you know, one one of each, like you
- 41:45might not find your size because they just got one there, you know what
- 41:49I mean, Like noster rack exactly. Bro. I like to I like
- 41:52to look at the stuff that's discounted because nobody likes it, you know what
- 41:55I mean, Like oh, how like what is this? And why do
- 41:59people not like like, oh no, I could rock that, you know
- 42:00what I'm saying. I always always uh one thing like as far as fashion
- 42:06goes, Like something that I always enjoy is when somebody compliments something that I'm
- 42:09wearing and like they don't know where I got it from and I know that
- 42:14it was just some like obscure fine, you know what I mean? Yeah,
- 42:16Like Dann, that shirt is dope, Like where you got that?
- 42:19That's what people thrift shop a lot, and they drift shopping. Fine,
- 42:24y'all used to work at Good. Well, that's crazy. I used to
- 42:28work at Good with Megatron. I'm ain't gonna talk with those stories. Yeah,
- 42:30we'll say that for another day. That boy, that's that's the first
- 42:35job I ever got him, and that's and that's the first job I ever
- 42:37wanted to get him fired from everything. I can't. Yeah, this guy
- 42:44would just like hang around and then like shoot, water gets at me mid
- 42:47shift, like, bro, come on, yo, He's funny because that's
- 42:52uh Joe's boy, Like they're real close. And when me and Joe started
- 42:57getting cool, I ended up Like when I realized that they were mad cool,
- 43:00I'm like, damn, that's funny because the guy he's talking about is
- 43:04a guy that he was like Like there was a period of like maybe like
- 43:07two or three years that we would like, me and my boys from the
- 43:10neighborhood. We would go around and play ball like in different places, and
- 43:15him and his boys, Joe's boy, Megatron, he would always be going
- 43:21to the places we was hooping at and he would go with his squad and
- 43:23they were like our arch nemesis, like everywhere point because we I'm not even
- 43:29gonna say, nah, Bro, fuck that, I'm not gonna arch nemesis
- 43:32because we used to fucking scrape them every time, dog, every time,
- 43:38Bro. And he used to get so mad he used to get furios.
- 43:45Dog. He was. He was funny though, he was. It was
- 43:50always fun when he was on the court, Bro, because he was you
- 43:52know, he's the one who lived in Wentworth. Oh yeah, yeah,
- 43:55you mentioned that you used to be in that. Yeah, he's the one
- 43:59who lived in where words, so that he used to pop up at the
- 44:00court sometimes exactly. So he was the one who always who had the apartment
- 44:05first. So like you know, your first friend that has their own place,
- 44:08you run up in that bitch all day. And that's that is why,
- 44:12like I know Wentworth because when Jay lived there, we would spend day
- 44:15and night there playing crash Bandicoot on the PlayStation. That's when he was eighteen
- 44:20and he just had his daughter and he was separated from her mother. So
- 44:24like it'll be the four of us babysitting the daughter playing crash Bandicoot every night
- 44:30and one and he had his daughter and yeah, so we are used to
- 44:34play ball there. I always suck, So I called myself like I'm the
- 44:37assist guy and assistant rebound guy. Put a body on a guy, but
- 44:42I couldn't get a layup for ship My shots. When I make them,
- 44:45they're nice. But that's why I ah, Well, we used to go
- 44:49to the Loss. We used to go to that one behind Publics. I
- 44:52used to trap Victoria Pines. We used to ball there, you know all
- 44:57those That's what I'm saying. We were probably in the same spot. Yeah,
- 45:00that's what I'm saying. I remember Gary, your other boy, because
- 45:02he used to bring that big gass speaker. So that's why I remembered him
- 45:06because he used to always bring the speaker and he used to always play like
- 45:08old school hip hop. So I always used to like when he came in
- 45:10and play music. Yeah, but bro, I'm telling you, dog,
- 45:15I was scraping them. Dog. I feel bad for Gary Dog because I
- 45:17know Gary had a garden. Yeah. I remember the last time I played
- 45:21with him. It was everybody there was Jay, it was Frank there,
- 45:22it was Gary there, and they started beefing. I was like, bro,
- 45:25this is we were like in our in our twur thirties by then.
- 45:30Yeah. Yeah, it was definitely the last ten years we did that's how
- 45:34my boys are. Like I was still beefing our thirties. He's never gonna
- 45:37end. But that's why I care. I don't care enough about fucking playing
- 45:40basketball to fight, y'all right now, anything else maybe, but not playing
- 45:45basketball. I cared about basketball a lot, but not to fight. Like
- 45:49I mean, I'm not gonna lie. I did get in a few basketball
- 45:52fights, but nine percent of the time it wasn't me like it was just
- 45:55you know, Bro, I'm telling you, Dog, I used to cook
- 45:58people so much. They used to get pissed bro and try to fight me
- 46:00just because I was sucking them up. Bro. I was fucking them up.
- 46:05Bro. Yo. Basketball was like the one that got away from me.
- 46:07Bro. If I swear a dog, if I had like two or
- 46:09three more inches a yo, I would I would have me. I would
- 46:15at least in a local college legend. You heard me, you would have
- 46:22been a ball in the architect Those are your two missed trains, yo.
- 46:27Speaking the architect, we could wrap up with this man like. I've been
- 46:30having a hell of hard time getting contractors to show up to the salon because
- 46:36I know. I mentioned to the people on the podcast that me and my
- 46:38wife opening the salon and Bro, We've been stuck for like three months just
- 46:44trying to get reliable contractors to show up, Like Bro, to give y'all
- 46:47a little backstory, I'm not a haggler, you know what I'm saying,
- 46:51Like, if you give me a price, I pay that price because for
- 46:53me, I don't haggle either, like from my services, Like, if
- 46:58I give you a price, that's the price. I'm not going down.
- 47:00I already calculated how much it's gonna be to make it worth it for me.
- 47:05We're not going back and forth. So I extend that same courtesy to
- 47:07people I do business with. If I don't like the price, I'm just
- 47:10not gonna do it with you. That's it. So bruh. I've had
- 47:15four plumbers that have given me prices that I've agreed with, and they literally
- 47:20disappear when I asked, like when I'm asking them to pay the deposit,
- 47:23Bro for me to pay a deposit. So that's a whole nother thing.
- 47:28But we finally own the schedule with the plumber, finally got the architect,
- 47:32you know, because we need like a certain permit to whatever. It's the
- 47:36whole ship, you know, County stuff or whatever, but we're very that
- 47:39takes time, bro, and to like, I think that is one of
- 47:42the things that draws certain contractors because but I mean, I told you me,
- 47:45my father was in the contract the business for ten years. We had
- 47:50we had a business and it was all that. It was pretty much renovation
- 47:53construction. And if if if, if it's not in the old bron,
- 48:00they're not even gonna help you try to get it in code. But like,
- 48:02like that's probably why he gave you mad das because if that ship's in
- 48:06code and they don't got to do that work, they're riding with you.
- 48:08Let's go, let's get it done. That's the easy part. Yeah,
- 48:12facts, man, Like I literally did as much as I could. Like,
- 48:15I'm the type of person, bro that I'm gonna do everything in my
- 48:17power to do everything I can myself, and I'm only going to use people
- 48:22if I literally have to. You know what I'm saying, Like, Bro,
- 48:24I promise you if the plumbing thing was something that I could have done
- 48:28myself and get the list or whatever, Bro, I would have been on
- 48:30YouTube for a week YouTube University, and then I would have jumped there with
- 48:35the pipes like Mario hey yo, shot to that. No, so what
- 48:40I just said? Ship Yo, there's for the first time ever, there's
- 48:45a hurricane hit in the West coast and it's pouring outside. It's crazy out
- 48:51there right now. Yeah, there's literally a I went golf in this morning
- 48:53and they held us back for like an hour because of it. It was
- 48:58terrible. So did the brains instead. But yeah, there's crazy a stormy
- 49:01in the West Yo. But global warming, global warming, step into that
- 49:08and lead that into a whole bunch of crazy conspiracy theories and stuff about things
- 49:13like that. I'm ready, I'm ready. I'm ready for the alien talk,
- 49:15the alien talk. I'm ready to dog, I'm ready for the alien
- 49:19talk. Let they're coming. They're here, Bru aliens stays, butters too.
- 49:25It me the aliens be like stay bad not not do not do not be
