- 0:00Can I share something real quick about Nicole Jackson?
- 0:02He's asking permission. He's got that twinkle in his
- 0:05eye. Keith, I'm a little.
- 0:06Bit now that's why I'm like, it's going to be something where
- 0:08like I like you can refute it, but it's going to take me 10
- 0:10minutes to do it. Hello and welcome to episode 96
- 0:12of Draft Offsides with Tico Enzo.
- 0:15My name is Keith and what we got today, guys, what's going on?
- 0:20What's on your minds? Kudos is on the horizon.
- 0:25I'm in two minds about it because I don't like the fucker.
- 0:29And this to me, I'm really having a hard time coming to
- 0:31terms with you not liking Kudus. Like what is that about?
- 0:34It seems like the IT seems like the type of player that you'd be
- 0:36excited about. That's what he what how he acted
- 0:39at Tottenham. Well, you got 1 red you.
- 0:42Got one but he was acting like a Dick somewhere.
- 0:44That might happen but OK. But if Cunha would have came.
- 0:47Cunha has also gotten multiple Reds actually like a Dick.
- 0:50You would have been. You would have been that.
- 0:52Wasn't again. It wasn't against Tottenham.
- 0:55What? What did he do?
- 0:56I can't remember, but he got red carded and that's when he went
- 0:59that that was after I traded him to, to to start going.
- 1:02He also did. It's some personal.
- 1:03It's there's some it's personal and he didn't replay that wolf
- 1:07next last season. Let's be honest, didn't replay
- 1:09that wolf. He didn't play well last season,
- 1:10but I think we all think that he's a good player, right?
- 1:13Like. 50 million. No, that's just the going rate
- 1:16these days. And and the annoying.
- 1:18Thing is, has gone up, you know I.
- 1:19Know it's fucking ridiculous, but the annoying thing is this.
- 1:22This happens every season. My Tottenham gets like rumors
- 1:25for this player, this play and then also they go to somewhere
- 1:27else and it just goes down the pecking order and we always seem
- 1:30to get our four for fifth or sixth choice.
- 1:32And then and then you end up getting like a Brandon Johnson
- 1:35regen. Exactly.
- 1:37The audacity of this person getting upset because like his
- 1:40first, second and third fourth choice don't want to join like
- 1:43the 16th or 17th place team in the EPL.
- 1:46Yes, that's not the why you're living in the past, but now in
- 1:49the Champions League is probably a brand new season.
- 1:51Or brand new. It's not the past, that's
- 1:52literally the last season. Oh, so he kicked the Fender
- 1:56while he was down and then he slapped him in the face?
- 1:59Nice, nice, yeah. That's And then Richard Lesson
- 2:02came in and took a dive. Yeah.
- 2:05That sounds, yeah, yeah. But they won that game 41, so it
- 2:08was a frustration foul. Yeah, true, Yeah.
- 2:13Before we go any further, just really touching on the the
- 2:15passing of Diego Jota. Super sad, really shocking.
- 2:19I mean, I, I was trying to think of the last time a player like
- 2:23like of that caliber and that level passed.
- 2:25And it's really hard to think think about.
- 2:27And it's also just really hard to just come to terms with.
- 2:29And we have a lot of Liverpool fan friends and it's been a
- 2:32tough, tough week for soccer. Soccer people around the world,
- 2:35huh? Yeah, the community came all
- 2:38together. Obviously there's still players
- 2:40playing in the competitions, but man, that that one was like one
- 2:46of those things where you wake up considering, you know, has
- 2:48three kids, wife, the parents, every day you're like, it's one
- 2:51of those things it I don't know if you guys saw this year during
- 2:54the NHL All Star game, there was two brothers who were playing
- 2:56hockey. Same thing happened, like there
- 2:58was an accident but passed away. So stuff like that, when it
- 3:00happens, I feel like it brings not just obviously the sports
- 3:03world, but just everyone together and it's just tragic.
- 3:06Yeah, really, really sad. Very unexpected.
- 3:09The only the only other one I could think about this was the
- 3:12player that was meant to go to a Premier League team and die in a
- 3:15plane crash that. Was, oh, it was a helicopter.
- 3:17Yeah, that was also really tragic.
- 3:18That was tragic too. But you know, it's always, it's
- 3:21never, it's never expected. Yeah, I mean, this is life is so
- 3:25fragile, huh? Yeah, That's really good.
- 3:28Yeah. Love you guys.
- 3:30Love you guys. Yeah, OK, trying to keep our
- 3:35keep keep things moving matter Weki to Arsenal.
- 3:40This this is just starting to pick up steam and.
- 3:43I think it's a good move for Arsenal part to be honest.
- 3:46Well, he plays pretty good off the lap, so it's like the idea
- 3:49of him providing competition for Martinelli and being back up for
- 3:52Osaka seems like a pretty versatile position, a good
- 3:55player for them, you know, for what they need.
- 3:58What confuses me is that Rodrigo is still in the mix also.
- 4:03So would you start Matawecki over Rodrigo?
- 4:08I don't think there's any world in which they'd get both of them
- 4:10and a striker, you know. This move doesn't make sense to
- 4:14me to be honest, both for Maduicki and Arsenal.
- 4:18I mean, I guess for Arsenal doesn't make sense.
- 4:19You're getting back up there, but why would Maduicki want to
- 4:23go there? Seems like similar situation
- 4:25where it's going to be there are players at the same position so
- 4:28if you want playing time that's not the team you want to go to.
- 4:31I think he probably backs himself to beat Martinelli in a
- 4:35comp. There's also Tricia, a scientist
- 4:37Martinelli. Yeah.
- 4:38But Tricia is a bench player for Arsenal.
- 4:41I think he's a good player, but he's coming off the bench.
- 4:43Yeah, I think, I think that would be the idea that Matt,
- 4:45Matt Maduweke backs himself to beat Martinelli on the left and
- 4:49also get some game time on the right.
- 4:51But yeah, do you guys get that? And I also, but I also think
- 4:53it's not that much different from him being at Chelsea.
- 4:55If anything, it's a less crowded backfield than, you know, at
- 4:59Chelsea. So the one thing that I just
- 5:01think would be so funny is if we sell matter weke, if Chelsea
- 5:07sells matter weke to Arsenal to help fund a purchase of Rodrigo,
- 5:12you know what I mean? That would be like the ultimate,
- 5:13like, ha ha that. Would be and that would be
- 5:17hilarious. But, but I think the issue with
- 5:18Rodrigo and I think the reason why no clubs are signing him is
- 5:21just I, I obviously like transfer fuse one thing, but I
- 5:24think the other part is the, I think his wages are just too
- 5:26much. Like I, I think he's asking
- 5:28straight too much money. Like I don't, I don't have any
- 5:31real backing for that. Like I haven't read that
- 5:33anywhere. But I just got this feeling like
- 5:35like the like the Premier League is really working so hard on
- 5:37like these wage structures, like Chelsea's team is they're all
- 5:40not paid a lot and it's very incentive driven the contracts.
- 5:43And I think that like a Rodrigo is going to ask for so much
- 5:46money. That's going to be impossible to
- 5:48do that. Like 400 bags.
- 5:51Well, even in the threes out of there's not a lot of players at
- 5:53Chelsea that are out of any that are getting north of three.
- 5:57That's surprising. Yeah.
- 6:00That's surprising. But yeah, I don't, I don't know,
- 6:03but Matawaki to Arsenal I think would be a good fit for me at
- 6:09like he'll go down the left, he'll be more attacking.
- 6:13He's, you know, like you said before Keith, he does get a lot
- 6:15of shots on goal and creates opportunities.
- 6:17So something they need, yeah, they want, they want more goals
- 6:21and they're not going to get a striker so.
- 6:24I think they, I think the Blue Crest thing is starting to move
- 6:26a little quicker is what I'm what I'm reading from Arsenal.
- 6:29So which would be interesting. And that was we had that, we had
- 6:32that convo on our pod last week with Joe about Gorkhres and
- 6:36where he goes and drops. And I think that's a pretty good
- 6:38like mid, mid second. It seems like where he goes and
- 6:42pretty, pretty juicy proposition at that point I think.
- 6:46Yeah. The other one, the Arsenal
- 6:49that's heating up is an essay rumor, which again, that one to
- 6:52me makes less sense. Like like, I guess it's just the
- 6:54versatility. But I think if if as a goes to
- 6:57Arsenal does not downgrade, like every player like that
- 6:59downgrades already guarded me that downgrade Martinelli to me
- 7:03like all these guys like not so much because I think that like
- 7:07he's going to automatic take every spot, but just that it's
- 7:10just there's going to suddenly be a rotation thing going on
- 7:12there. It it just doesn't make sense
- 7:15like as a if, especially with Nani going there right now, like
- 7:18that's one less spot that he can try to take.
- 7:21Like he is a #10 so you'd think he would be fine with Odegaard,
- 7:25but Odegaard's a staple, isn't he?
- 7:27Isn't he like a team captain? Do they take that out?
- 7:30So it just doesn't make any sense for me for Eze to go to
- 7:34Arsenal like he'll he, he would do well if there was a spot
- 7:37open, but from the Luxevin, Nani's already going and he's
- 7:41already on his way. I, I think it's, I mean, I can't
- 7:43imagine. Again, it's one of the
- 7:44situations I can't imagine. They signed both Nani and Eze.
- 7:47You think you think Eze is just doing this to try to get a bad
- 7:50contract at Palace? That could be like it seems to
- 7:53be like the running trend right now in the league right now.
- 7:56Everyone's trying to do it that. 'D be funny, that'd be funny.
- 8:01Simenyo re signed with Bournemouth so those, those kind
- 8:04of rumors are gone. Sorry Enzo.
- 8:05I know he was rumoured the other time.
- 8:07Would you have been excited about that?
- 8:08I. Would have loved to have had
- 8:10him, I told him. Especially with all the the
- 8:13rumours about Sun not starring and maybe going to thin a bachi
- 8:17or it would make more sense. I would.
- 8:20I would still, even if you've got kudos who plays on the
- 8:22right, I'd like to get someone that plays on the left unless
- 8:26you're going to play freaking matters off that left hand side,
- 8:28which he's done before but isn't his true position.
- 8:30So but Semenya going to Bournemouth, that's that's great
- 8:33for Bournemouth and he had a great season last season and he
- 8:37could do similar things again this season.
- 8:39So. Yeah, I think, I think Semenya,
- 8:41that's that signing specific that solidifies him as like an
- 8:45early second round pick. Yeah.
- 8:47And then the last one, Kyle Walker to Burnley.
- 8:50I mean, there's not much to say. Karl Walker was barely a fantasy
- 8:52asset when he played for City. I think the only kind of funny
- 8:55thing. Did you watch the announcement
- 8:56video? No, there's.
- 8:59Another, it was like Lionel Richie.
- 9:01It's it was it was odd. And there's like a sculpture.
- 9:04Yeah, it's exactly that. It's like cuts from that music
- 9:07video. Then all of a sudden, like Karl
- 9:08Walker has like a sculpture that he's holding of Lionel Richie.
- 9:11He's like, I'm here. It's very weird.
- 9:13God, very odd. The the reason I added Walker in
- 9:16there was because, you know, barely being a lower team means
- 9:19that hopefully it looks like some of the pieces they got,
- 9:22they also got Edwards, which we'll speak about later.
- 9:25They've got some attacking pieces.
- 9:27Even with Walker being the Fender, he's he, he can get up
- 9:30and down that wing and maybe like free them up from getting
- 9:33like because I'm pretty sure. Are they still playing out from
- 9:35the back? I'm assuming even though
- 9:36company's gone. I I've.
- 9:39I don't know, I think it's a different structure for sure.
- 9:41I. Don't know?
- 9:41Well then, then it should work out for them.
- 9:44We'll see. I think I also think it's like
- 9:46so hard to know because like the the teams that have tried last
- 9:49few years, the teams that have tried to play the same where
- 9:51they played in the Championship in the Premier League have
- 9:53gotten obsolete, crushed. So you're hoping that some of
- 9:56these teams learn that they need to adjust and do like the Thomas
- 9:58Frank where they like very much adjust how they played from the
- 10:00Championship to the Premier League and slowly ease their way
- 10:02into like a new style of play. That would be.
- 10:06That'd be the help, you know. Yeah, I think, I think really
- 10:09enough. Walker will have more value on
- 10:12Burly than he did with the city. I think so.
- 10:14Just more defensive like plays, interactions, points.
- 10:19I, I, I just more stuff will go through him, Just, I don't know
- 10:23all that stuff. Actually, OK, I see it.
- 10:25I get it like that. And then I just pulled up
- 10:28Fabrizio's Twitter account just to see if there was any new
- 10:31updates. And the top thing he has pinned
- 10:35is usually when he pinned something, it's pretty much done
- 10:38deal guy, chorus, guy chorus or however, yeah, it's pretty much
- 10:44the closest to signing it. It's pretty much a done deal,
- 10:46personal terms of redone just between the teams and he's not
- 10:49going to training at Sporting Lisbon.
- 10:53The other thing is Kudos is not talking to any other club.
- 10:56He just wants to top them. So that's the other one that's
- 10:59on there. And Marcus Rashford, no surprise
- 11:02here. He he's pretty much not in the
- 11:03platform. And you, Marcus Rashford offers
- 11:06himself to Barcelona is like the funniest.
- 11:08It's like, yeah, I offered myself to do a lipa.
- 11:10That doesn't mean. It's funny because like that,
- 11:13that door is now open, though, if you if you think because Nico
- 11:16Williams just resigned with Athletico Bilbao again.
- 11:19Can we talk about that? No, no, I was just saying that
- 11:22the door is open for it. That's what I was saying.
- 11:25Can. We talk about Nico Williams.
- 11:26No, there's no point in doing that.
- 11:28He's not. Yeah, well, let's talk about it
- 11:29after. It's it is funny, though.
- 11:31It's a very it's like very funny.
- 11:34Anything else? I think there was, oh, the, the
- 11:38were we talking about like your craz and then, oh, Zuba Mande,
- 11:41that's official too. First off, yeah, yeah.
- 11:43Subbu Mande's official. Well, we're Are we gonna talk
- 11:45about party? No, let's, let's stay out of
- 11:48that one. I'm just saying he's gone.
- 11:50So now that has solidified that Zuma.
- 11:52Mande in more than one way. That's what he wanted to talk
- 11:54about. I don't think that's what you
- 11:56wanted to talk. About that's no, that's how I
- 11:57wanted to link it. I didn't want to talk about.
- 12:00How much of A monster he is? Yeah, OK.
- 12:04So definitely an Arsenal player. Were you guys, were you guys
- 12:07surprised that didn't wonder by Rashford?
- 12:12A little bit, a little bit, especially considering how much
- 12:15starting time he got over Ollie Watkins.
- 12:18What does that mean? But what does that mean for
- 12:19Ollie Watkins? You know, I feel like Ollie
- 12:21Watkins, like Emory, like kind of disrespects Watkins.
- 12:24I don't think he disrespects. So I think Emory plays who's in
- 12:27form and like Watkins was Dolphin and.
- 12:31I feel like every time Watkins, when it came on, he scored a
- 12:34goal. I feel like every time he was
- 12:35involved, he would score a goal, then he would just get benched
- 12:37again. I don't know if that's just like
- 12:38my my brain remembering it incorrectly, but it felt that
- 12:41way for a big chance this season.
- 12:43I feel like Aston Villa would have got them if they got they
- 12:45didn't get Champions League right there in Europa.
- 12:47That is true. So if they had got Champions
- 12:49League like it's essential is not on the books no more right
- 12:52no, so he's. You know, it's actually been
- 12:55weirdly quiet on the villa front this chance window, if you if
- 12:58you haven't noticed. Well, it's been quiet for a lot
- 13:00of teams, but to be honest, not that many teams did early
- 13:02business besides, you know, Chelsea obviously.
- 13:05Liverpool. Liverpool, Man United, Man C
- 13:09Those four teams went early, but everyone else has been pretty
- 13:12quiet when you look at the transfers made so far this
- 13:14season. It's a little unrelated from the
- 13:16EPL by Jesse John Duran who went from Villa to Saudi.
- 13:20He's now he's at Turquesse. Fender Baccha.
- 13:23Fender Bacchi. Yeah, I mean, another player
- 13:26like just getting out of Saudi, but it sounded like his setup
- 13:29was really weird, right? Weren't you telling me that he,
- 13:31like, had to live in a different country?
- 13:33Like very far away. Yeah, 'cause he's like.
- 13:35He lived with his girlfriend, and he wasn't allowed to live in
- 13:37the same house as that woman he was not married to.
- 13:40Yeah. Just odd.
- 13:41Yeah. Yeah, some odd stuff going on.
- 13:44Yeah, OK, get into another section right now.
- 13:48So this is something that Tico brought up that I thought was
- 13:49really good. We've we've talked about a lot
- 13:51in like passing and it's just about kind of like kind of
- 13:54honing in on a little bit. It's talking about like rotation
- 13:57risk. And then also that versus like
- 13:59starter uncertainty. And what what does the
- 14:01difference between the two are and how to how they kind of
- 14:04affect ranking players. I think like the poster boy for
- 14:06this is Man City and how do you like deal with a team where
- 14:11there's going to be so much rotation and you know, all these
- 14:14players when you look like points per start are some of the
- 14:17elite players, you know, but a lot of them aren't getting the
- 14:20amount of games that that would make them elite.
- 14:24You know, they aren't getting 30 plus games, they're getting
- 14:26closer to 20. And how do you kind of then rank
- 14:29them and how do you guys kind of come to terms with that?
- 14:31So for Man City, it's and before I go into like my thought
- 14:35process, I just I want to throw this out to you guys as well
- 14:38just so you guys could have some time to think about it.
- 14:41Watching the Club World Cup, the the roster that Pep used, do you
- 14:47guys think that's going to be the rotation or do you guys
- 14:49think that the plays plays a factor or not?
- 14:51So that's what I was looking at as well.
- 14:53But for City to be obviously the person who sits atop is how
- 14:57long? That's the one person you know
- 14:59who's going to start pretty much 90 plus percent of the game.
- 15:02So without a doubt how long if he's there, you take him and you
- 15:05don't have to worry about about him at all.
- 15:07The one to me that's going to be very interesting is Omar Marmos.
- 15:10He came out last year when Holland was injured.
- 15:12He was scoring goals. And then even when Holland was
- 15:14in the rotation, he was still playing, playing some minutes.
- 15:17But I just don't understand how they're going to fit in.
- 15:19And obviously the biggest thing is Doku, not Doku, I'm sorry,
- 15:22Floating, who last year had a terrible year after having an
- 15:25amazing year from two years ago. Those are the top three that are
- 15:28to me, I think they have the highest potential, the upside
- 15:31and the lowest, lowest risk of having being rotational players.
- 15:36The ones that are a nightmare to on from the front, midfield and
- 15:39forwards are Fordin and Savio. Yeah.
- 15:43And then what about Shirky then How does that fall into it?
- 15:46To be honest, that one, I'm so kind of I'm I'm not sure where
- 15:50he's going to play, what position he's going to play, how
- 15:52he's going to fit in. I probably wouldn't draft him
- 15:54unless it's like an amazing value pick.
- 15:56But I don't think he's going to be on the board until like the
- 15:58fourth, fifth round for for it to be value pick.
- 16:01But it's it's so difficult coming from the French league,
- 16:03which we know it's not that competitive, but he is a great
- 16:06player. He did have a good Club World
- 16:08Cup. He had I think he had a couple
- 16:09of goals. But again, I just don't
- 16:11understand where he's where he's going to fit.
- 16:12And there's also like the Nico Gonzalez's Rogers coming back in
- 16:16the midfield. So it's going to be a complete
- 16:18like shit show there. To me.
- 16:20It's I, I wouldn't, I wouldn't waste a high draft pick, draft
- 16:26value on, on those players with the with the all the
- 16:28uncertainty. Yeah, there's a lot of risk.
- 16:30You're right, there's a lot of risk.
- 16:31And I I agree with the Holland Mamoush.
- 16:34I think they honestly, I know you think about rotation it, but
- 16:37I think he'll find a way to get them started.
- 16:40But yeah, Savino, Doku, Foden, I'm not sure if they'll get
- 16:46rotated week in, week out with Champions League and all the
- 16:48cups. That's what you worry is that
- 16:50they get focused on the FA Cup with the League Cup.
- 16:53But like, I see a couple of other names on there, like I
- 16:55feel like Einori and Vardiol should be like playing 90% of
- 16:59the season this season with the defenders that they have, and
- 17:02they should be. You should be able to get some
- 17:04value out of them. The the scary thing about, well,
- 17:08the thing about Vardiol is when he started the year, he was
- 17:11playing left back. He was putting up amazing
- 17:13number, scoring goals, going to the top key passes, all of that
- 17:17stuff. But then because of injuries, he
- 17:19switched to center back. That's when I feel like his
- 17:22production towards the end of the year, the numbers were not
- 17:24there and he was more clean. She dependent.
- 17:26And I'm looking at the last few games from last year, 6 points,
- 17:2812, nine and a half, three and a half, 10 1/2 compared early on
- 17:32where it was mostly like 2017, 2114.
- 17:36And to me, Arnori is the player that's has the highest potential
- 17:41from the defense and he's someone that I'm going to.
- 17:44I think he's one of the players that's going to have the highest
- 17:46breakthrough. Yeah, I think I think with that
- 17:49Nori there and I also think with Nico O'Reilly, you know, he was
- 17:52the one that took the role. He's probably going to play that
- 17:55backup. I think Marty Y'all might play a
- 17:56few games left back for the for most part, it's going to be send
- 17:58it back and you're not going to get those same numbers.
- 18:00So I think I think Marty Y'all is a bit of a chop player to be
- 18:03honest with you this year. Like he would have been a good
- 18:05but we have a we have a bus like a bus section coming up.
- 18:08He actually would have been a really good one to put on there
- 18:10because he's definitely someone that I'm I'm kind of these
- 18:13dropped way down on boards compared to the point total that
- 18:16he scored last year, because I think we're just a little too
- 18:18wise to what's going on there. But but yeah, I kind of agree
- 18:21with you. I think that Holland is the the
- 18:23one that's like, you know, he's on, he's on a plane of his own,
- 18:27right. And then and then I mean, I
- 18:30think it's Foden for me. If I was ranking it, I think
- 18:33it's Foden for me. And then and then it then it
- 18:36gets really weird. And then I totally agree.
- 18:38And then like, because you see the potential with Marmoush, but
- 18:41are you really going to risk it? And then Doku Savino, I feel
- 18:44like they're starting to get priced in a little more.
- 18:46I think, you know, third, fourth round for the the when they
- 18:49play, you know, you start them, but then there's going to be
- 18:51games where you can't play them. And then I think there's other
- 18:54like Rinders is another very interesting proposition too.
- 18:57And it's not like he's not going to be this.
- 18:59He's not probably not going to be an elite point creator, but
- 19:01he did score 10 plus goals in Syria last year.
- 19:04He is like capable of doing that.
- 19:05And he also kind of feels more that like Gundolin Silver Roll
- 19:10is a little more of like an industrial midfielder that
- 19:13there's also kind of has that a creative player.
- 19:14So he might he actually I could see him getting more game time
- 19:17than Savino and Judoku just not getting as high like play per
- 19:21game scores. It's going to be about how Pep
- 19:24plays too. You know he's going to change
- 19:26his tactics and how they're going to play.
- 19:28Are they going to try to keep the ball because they've been
- 19:30last season they were calling the count attacks so much.
- 19:32Are they going to try to solidify that midfield or are
- 19:34they going to go gone home, just go Barcelona and try to score
- 19:38more goals than everybody else? OK, I have I have an idea.
- 19:42So we we're all working on our rankings right now and we're
- 19:44we're going to have those up and we'll probably have those out
- 19:46next for next week's episode. I'm going to search and find
- 19:50where you guys have Doku, for example.
- 19:52Is that is that you guys cool with me doing that?
- 19:54Yeah, OK. I.
- 19:57Don't know who ranked yet. Well, I think that she might.
- 20:00Me, I have Jeremy Doku at 33. Enzo, you have Jeremy Doku at
- 20:0447. Tico, you have Jeremy Doku at
- 20:1036. That's interesting.
- 20:12So, Enzo, you're actually the lowest of us on it.
- 20:15I have Savio ranked my chart and Doku I have him 26th.
- 20:19You that's, that's really interesting too.
- 20:20So what? To me that's also really tricky
- 20:22because I don't see that much difference between Savio.
- 20:24No, I have, I have Savio 45. Yeah, you have both of them.
- 20:28Enzo. Enzo, you just, you have no
- 20:29desire, huh? No, just because it's the things
- 20:32that we spoke about before and you're talking about right now,
- 20:35Rotation. Am I going to take these these
- 20:38players are going to be rotation players and I, you know, we're
- 20:40not sure if they're going to start every game if or if
- 20:42they're going to come off the bench or am I going to choose
- 20:44players that will start and can get get me some points that can
- 20:48win me games? Yeah, I, I think a lot of it's
- 20:50team construction, right? Like if you have a lot of really
- 20:52safe players, maybe it makes sense to like splash on like one
- 20:56of these guys like a Sharky or something later where you're
- 20:58like, oh, this guy could could have so much upside.
- 21:00And if he doesn't play, at least I have, I have a really steady
- 21:03baseline that I don't need them every week.
- 21:05You know, then it makes more sense to to pick up a guy like
- 21:07that, you know? Yeah.
- 21:09So the the fan tracks official ranking for these players.
- 21:13I'm just going to go read that up to Jeremy Doku.
- 21:15So first it's Holland ranked seven.
- 21:19Marmouche was ranked 19th, Phil Ford on ranked 34th, Rodri
- 21:23ranked 37, which is, excuse me, kind of surprising.
- 21:26And then Savio 41 and Doku at 50.
- 21:29So even franchise has Savvy or Ankara than Doku.
- 21:32That's the that's the fan tracks official ADP that you're looking
- 21:35at. Official ADP Yeah, yeah.
- 21:39Which party? All they also have.
- 21:41Yeah. Yeah.
- 21:42What do you guys have Fodin? Tricky 59.
- 21:44I have Fodin a little earlier myself.
- 21:48Me too. Maybe, maybe I'm a little choppy
- 21:50mistake on Fodin. I think Fodin's somewhat.
- 21:52I'm kind of optimistic on this year 23.
- 21:54Let's go. I'm in the I got my 34.
- 21:56I have him 23rd. What?
- 21:58You're really low on City players, but.
- 22:02I get it. It's just not worth it's not
- 22:05worth the risk for I get it. But I'm thinking that if I can
- 22:11get voted in the third, I think he can deliver a second round
- 22:14value fairly easily personally. But I also, but there's also a
- 22:17chance he just doesn't like, you know, he just has a year like
- 22:20last year. And that's the war.
- 22:23OK. And then I think that the so
- 22:25City's like kind of its own thing, I think.
- 22:27And then the other kind of type of team that's interesting is
- 22:30like a Chelsea where it's not so much like I'm sure there will be
- 22:32rotation, but I think the concern is starter uncertainty.
- 22:35I think Chelsea's like this. I think Tottenham's like this
- 22:37with some roles where it's not so much like I know all these
- 22:41guys are play are going to play. They might only get 20 games.
- 22:43It's like some of with some of these other teams, it's like who
- 22:46is going to be the starter? So with Chelsea, we've talked
- 22:48about it a lot with the wingers and you know, with Asavio
- 22:52Esteval coming in with, you know, Matawecki still there,
- 22:55with Pedro Neto, with Jon Pedro suddenly coming in and Liam
- 22:58Dilap and Nicholas Jackson. And you know, it's like who who
- 23:04are the ones that you can really rely on?
- 23:05How are you guys handling those situations?
- 23:07It's going to be the same way isn't it as as C because you
- 23:10don't know who to * and it went all last season.
- 23:13Like there's only a couple players on Chelsea where last
- 23:16season when you knew they were going to start, like Nico
- 23:17Jackson was one of them, but now Nico Jackson isn't one of them.
- 23:19Like Cole Palmer's is going to start week in week out and he
- 23:22should start week in week out. I think Enzo Fernandez is a
- 23:25week, but the wingers, it's it's the side pieces that aren't
- 23:30going to. I'd almost want to just pick a
- 23:34Cucarella and help on that going down the wing.
- 23:39But I guess my question is, are you do you devalue them in
- 23:42rankings as much as you devalue like a Doku Savino?
- 23:46Or do you was it just more of a is it a willing to take a risk
- 23:51on a on a guy on a winger for like a Chelsea or a you know,
- 23:54the Kulu Madison situation at Tottenham?
- 23:56Are you willing to take a risk there?
- 23:58Just use like try and do some research and really trying to
- 24:01make it educate against who the starter is and like risk that or
- 24:04would you rather because like, I guess it's just it's two sides
- 24:06of the same thing where it's like one is you get 20 games,
- 24:11but when they play they're great.
- 24:12And the other one is you're hoping to get 30 games from like
- 24:15a Kulasevski and just hope that he's the start over Madison on
- 24:18Tottenham, for example, or hope that Pedro Netzo starts 30 plus
- 24:21games for Chelsea because he's he started the end of the season
- 24:24well and has been playing a lot in the Club World Cup.
- 24:28I think you've got to take in all the factors and you can take
- 24:31the risk, and you've said it before, high, high risk, high
- 24:33reward, especially if they do get the start on the spot and
- 24:35they're all good players. Let's be honest, they're not bad
- 24:38players on this Chelsea team. It's just where or not they fit
- 24:41into the ends of Moresca role. You probably know better than
- 24:44us, Keith. But if not us?
- 24:45Well, I guess for me, it's like I look at like 7 you and Tokyo
- 24:47and like, even though, you know, you're not going to get all the
- 24:50starts, you know that when they do come in, they usually end up
- 24:53scoring. And I think there's more value
- 24:56in that than like taking a risk on the third round for a guy
- 24:59that might only play 10 times, you know what I mean?
- 25:03As opposed to. But even though, even though
- 25:05like that, the the upside is higher, right, like, you know,
- 25:08oh, he's like he could be a 35 game player and he could, you
- 25:12know, deliver like way better on his value.
- 25:15I just I worry that the that there's just this chance that he
- 25:18doesn't do that and he just becomes a bit part player in the
- 25:21team, like in Estavio Esteval or something.
- 25:23Just is it just too young and doesn't really get those starts
- 25:25or Pedro Neto doesn't kind of continue his form throughout the
- 25:29season. So to me it's almost the Doku
- 25:32Savino's are almost like it's like you know what they're they
- 25:35are. And you more so than like what's
- 25:37going to happen like a Pedro Neto or a James Madison
- 25:40Kulisevski with a new coach situation for Tottenham.
- 25:43And they're stealing for Doku Savios much higher.
- 25:46Those are places they started. You expect them to score 15 plus
- 25:49points? Yeah, and an individual game
- 25:50based individual game, yeah. To me with Chelsea is like I
- 25:56want to. I was in the draft, Liam Dilap,
- 25:58I thought it was going to overtake Nico Jackson.
- 26:00You guys know how I dislike Nico Jackson as a as a striker, as a
- 26:03player almost even as a human. But now with Jon Pedro coming in
- 26:10there it's it drops. All three of them are drop lore
- 26:14even though I feel like Pedro could probably play on the right
- 26:16wing as well, especially with Madhuri.
- 26:18On left wing, but yeah. Left, yeah, on the wings as
- 26:20well. But to me from the one thing
- 26:23with Chelsea is they're going to get Champions League again.
- 26:25They're not going to play in that conference competition
- 26:27where they played like their 6th winger and they still want, you
- 26:30know. But Esteve I was someone who I
- 26:33would I'd rather draft him than Liam Dillop.
- 26:38You know what's funny? I still think Nico Jackson's
- 26:41actually better than both of them.
- 26:44You're delusional. I'm being serious.
- 26:46I mean, there's things that he there's things the one thing
- 26:48that's interesting to Chelsea and this this could also make it
- 26:51more of a headache because I think they each do different
- 26:53things really well. So Liam de Lab is this classic
- 26:56like bruiser center forward. Nico Jackson's really good at
- 26:59running it behind, really good at like transit balls in
- 27:02transition. Jon Pedro is incredible as like
- 27:05almost like this false 9 like 1 cup play striker and like they
- 27:09all do very different things. Yeah, but what?
- 27:11What one thing does Nico Jackson do more than they do?
- 27:15Yeah, he's he's much better running in behind.
- 27:17He's much better at holding the ball up in the midfield.
- 27:20So he's very composed until he gets in front of the goal.
- 27:23Yeah, exactly. He's the best at missing
- 27:25opportunities. But he gets the opportunities.
- 27:27His big chances missed wasn't that crazy compared to a lot of
- 27:30other players. There's a little bit of an
- 27:32Internet agenda against him. I think so too.
- 27:35Like look very much led by Tico. I feel my.
- 27:37Brother. Yeah, and you?
- 27:39Well, that's OK. Anyway, Nico Jackson, I still
- 27:42think he's bad. And Liam de Lapp and Pedro, at
- 27:46this point in time, can they surpass him?
- 27:48Maybe with form, but I still think Nico Jackson his worst
- 27:54enemy is his is his self. Yeah, he's in such the doghouse
- 27:58for Chelsea though, with Maresca, so we'll see.
- 28:00Even if he's better, who knows who's gonna get the starts?
- 28:03Yeah, the Labs scored twelve goals on Ipswich.
- 28:05OK, doesn't mean that he's gonna score 12 goals on the Chelsea
- 28:08team. Nico scored ten goals.
- 28:11Nico was also injured for 1/3 of the season, if not more.
- 28:13One played 30 games started 28. The lap played.
- 28:16What was it, 3732? But it's completely different
- 28:20teams mate, I get that you you play in a low block or you play
- 28:24against an open backfield. Like seeing all that grass in
- 28:27front of you is completely different playing against teams
- 28:30that are playing five in the back.
- 28:31Yeah. I mean, I, I, I think all this
- 28:32discussion just lends itself to the bigger point that we're
- 28:34trying to make here is that it's that how do you, how do you
- 28:38really draft these guys accordingly?
- 28:40And I think, I think my, my position is that you have to,
- 28:44you have to like push him back a little bit.
- 28:47Even if you're, even if you have really like Enzo, you have
- 28:50clearly have strong conviction on Nico Jackson, but you still
- 28:52have to acknowledge that he might not win that spot.
- 28:55And like, if he did, you probably dropped him in the
- 28:58second or third, but now he's probably not on your board until
- 29:00what, the 4th? 5th?
- 29:026th I'm not sure I've got him. I'll look for you somewhere.
- 29:07I'll look for you. I think I got the lap before
- 29:10him, you know that. Yeah, you have you have Nico
- 29:13Jackson 58, which I think makes sense and it's like and it's I
- 29:17think, but that's and you have so you have Savignon Doku ahead
- 29:21of him and that's because you know that they're going to get
- 29:23playing time. So I think that's kind of the
- 29:24point. I was kind of thinking and I
- 29:26feel like even if like I think you guys are kind of there too,
- 29:29just in your rankings, is that these guys, the the rotation
- 29:33players, even though the they're they're not going to get you 30
- 29:38games. Just knowing that they are going
- 29:39to be coming in and out is more valuable than actually taking a
- 29:42risk on a guy that's agreed not gonna might not get you
- 29:46anything, you know? Agreed.
- 29:48Can I share something real quick about Nicole Jackson or we want
- 29:50to move on? I'm just asking permission.
- 29:55I have to share my screen so you know.
- 29:57Oh, I don't what? OK, what?
- 29:58Yes, that's. Real quick.
- 29:59Yeah, let me see, which one was it?
- 30:02Look at this guy. He's got that twinkle in his
- 30:04eye. Keith, I'm a little.
- 30:05Bit now that's why I'm like, it's going to be something where
- 30:07I like, I like, you can refuse. This is going to take me 10
- 30:09minutes. The missed shots in open play
- 30:11for last year. Look at all these ones.
- 30:14Missed shots. Why is there a big red one on
- 30:17the six shot? Box because big shot you're full
- 30:23and these are just all the missed shots in general.
- 30:26See another one OK, it's actually a pretty cool slot.
- 30:29It's not even safe shots. These are not the they're not
- 30:31blocked. These are shots that made it all
- 30:33the way through and he just missed the goal.
- 30:36OK. OK, you guys want to hear the
- 30:38list of the big chances missed in the Premier League in 2425?
- 30:42Yeah, go on. Ollie Watkins is number one with
- 30:4527. Wow.
- 30:46Mohammed Salah is number 2 with 24.
- 30:50Really. Holland is #3 with 21.
- 30:52Nicholas Jackson is #4 with 19. Alexander Isak is number 5 with
- 30:5718. So as far as big chances, misco,
- 31:00like he's in elite territory and he's but you know what I mean?
- 31:05Like, but he's also like, but he's around names that are all
- 31:08very highly rated and aren't perceived as missing big
- 31:11chances. Because they're all getting in
- 31:13opportunities. You got to get the opportunity
- 31:15to score, go get there. You got to get in the right
- 31:18space. You got to get in the in the
- 31:19right. Area so we don't need to we
- 31:21don't need to argue I I feel like we can move on from yeah so
- 31:25the other team that the other team.
- 31:26So we talked about City. We talked about like Chelsea.
- 31:29We talked a little about about Tottenham, but I also want to we
- 31:32talked about this last weekend a little bit that the cool stuff
- 31:34scheme Madison to me is the really fascinating thing in that
- 31:38team and who's going to play in that 10.
- 31:40And I think there's also a chance that Thomas Frank changes
- 31:43the system because he's done that when when Bradford was in
- 31:46the championship to when Bradford came into the Premier
- 31:48League to Brentford now to like so going to Tottenham, I don't
- 31:51think there's this automatic thing that there's going to be
- 31:53this damn scarred role that we're talking about.
- 31:55I don't think it's as automatic that that that happens.
- 31:58There's a very there's a very like high probability that they
- 32:01play like a 352 or they do something else completely as
- 32:04well. But I just think that it's going
- 32:07to be interesting on that team. You know with with San like what
- 32:11what you mentioned that he might you know the uncertainty are
- 32:13there. It sounds like he might be
- 32:14staying another year. I saw that though, yeah.
- 32:17That could happen too, but I've heard he's not going to start,
- 32:20which is is absurd if you're going to keep him in my opinion.
- 32:25So I mean you're going to start Bart Simpson over him.
- 32:29Don't know who did you start a lot for Charleston potentially
- 32:31it. Would be no for Charleston.
- 32:32Might be leaving too. I heard he's trying to leave
- 32:34because he wants more game time. So you know what's, you know
- 32:37what the one funny thing is, is that Richarlson's profile really
- 32:40reminds me of Kevin Schauder a little bit in the way he plays
- 32:44the Yeah, like they have a similar like, like crashing the
- 32:46back post, like good in the air. Like there's a level of them
- 32:50that I could see him playing, Richarlson playing off the left
- 32:52and doing well for for Tottenham.
- 32:55He played there last year or was it 2 years ago?
- 32:57Now he plays on the left, he's playing.
- 32:59On the left he plays off the left, yeah, I think he's
- 33:01probably better off the left. I think people tried to turn him
- 33:03into a striker and it didn't quite.
- 33:05No, it didn't work. Yeah.
- 33:07Or you spend that much money on him.
- 33:08You know what I mean? Fuck me.
- 33:10Yeah. But yeah, with the Kulu,
- 33:12Madison, I just don't know because Kulu did so well in that
- 33:1510 roll. But I think we're also thinking
- 33:18back, and I thought about this after the pod last week, that in
- 33:21that Big Ang team, like, Madison got benched a bunch and Kulu got
- 33:26used more in there. But this isn't Big Ang's team
- 33:29anymore. Now it's from his friend.
- 33:31It's also last year. Such a weird year to like.
- 33:35You just taught them as an example of how the players will
- 33:36do this year because yeah, initially we thought Madison was
- 33:40going to be the main person, but then it was Kulzefsky after he
- 33:42was benched 2 years ago. But then last year when
- 33:45Kulzefsky was the main guy, you saw how the team did in the
- 33:49Premier League and even in the Europa he was injured.
- 33:52Was he playing Kulzefsky in the Europa League runner?
- 33:54He got hurt. He got hurt near the end, but he
- 33:57was he was playing. Yeah.
- 33:59So to me, it's I think the upside from Madison is, I mean,
- 34:03I'm a huge Madison fan. I think the upside for him is so
- 34:06much better. So to me, if I had to like draft
- 34:08them, I don't think I would draft Klusowski in the second
- 34:11round. I'd rather wait to take Madison
- 34:12in the third round. Yeah, I think they're, I think,
- 34:16yeah, I think we talked about that.
- 34:17I think those are the same concerns.
- 34:19I don't think that they're like they're baked in enough that the
- 34:21chance that one of them might play the other, but there's also
- 34:24a chance that they both play. So there is maybe maybe that is
- 34:26maybe those are the the right spots for them.
- 34:29OK. The next thing I want to talk
- 34:30about is, well, I guess we is Brighton.
- 34:34And I feel like they're kind of like city light in the sense
- 34:36that that the rotation that happens on that team is pretty
- 34:39brutal, but they just the points they generate are nowhere near
- 34:41city level points. No.
- 34:44So So what does that leave you? Because like Jon Pedro's gone
- 34:47from there now. So.
- 34:48But Gruda is all of a sudden interesting.
- 34:50Yeah, that's the that's one of the ones I put up for later on.
- 34:53He could take. Up and then you're always going
- 34:55to take Matoma, right, But even then you don't you there's going
- 34:57to be there's rotation even there for their ** player.
- 35:00So it doesn't feel great. Who really starts week in week
- 35:03out for the centre backs? That's it.
- 35:06Maybe, maybe not even that at times.
- 35:08Buffing honestly switches them out too.
- 35:12But someone's got to take that Jao Pedro spot and who's going
- 35:16to fill up the goals and who has the opportunity to.
- 35:18And I think Gruber has Welbeck for half a season.
- 35:23For the first half, first ten, first ten weeks, I think I
- 35:26actually think that Brighton in the same way that city, I think
- 35:28there's going to be some value to be found on Brighton.
- 35:30It's just about who it is and how you find it.
- 35:32And it's kind of like it's like winning a lot like what lottery
- 35:35picks from there. But I think there's going to be
- 35:37some value that's pushed down in drafts for everything that we're
- 35:40talking about now where people don't really want to mess with
- 35:43the rotation stuff. But if they get the right guy,
- 35:46they're going to get some good, good value of of like grud all
- 35:49of a sudden fills in for job, that job pager role and all of a
- 35:51sudden you're getting him. You know, you get 25 games out
- 35:55of him starting and where he's going in drops.
- 35:58It's great. Or like, yeah, if if it's well
- 36:01back or if it's maybe Inciso comes back to Brighton has a
- 36:03really good season. Bona note.
- 36:05There's like a bunch of different guys.
- 36:06So many. Yeah, that could all of a sudden
- 36:08really thrive. Solid March.
- 36:11So yeah, I mean, if he suddenly rises from the dead, you know,
- 36:14his knee, it's a bionic knee and he's back out there.
- 36:19Stand away from that fucker. OK, then the Arsenal question, I
- 36:23think for me it's just it's about it's not so much about the
- 36:25team now because that team now is so paper thin, but it's about
- 36:28like if pieces come in. So if as it comes in that
- 36:31downgrades Odegard, Martinelli, if Cuckoo comes in, I'm sorry,
- 36:35not if Matoueke comes in, that downgrades Martinelli for me.
- 36:38If Yorker as comes in, or even Cesco, that really downgrades
- 36:43Kai habits for me, right? So Kai habits even start to get
- 36:49a striker. I don't think so, but that's we
- 36:52can. We're not going.
- 36:53To put them in the midfield role again.
- 36:55I think that was a little bit of a failed.
- 36:56I think they might if they were really desperate.
- 36:58But like that's what Mccom Marino's there for.
- 37:00That's what you know, they have all these players, they're all
- 37:02of a sudden like they have Norgard now, they have Super
- 37:05Mendy, they have they have more guys.
- 37:07I think Cavetts starts on the shark week when they play
- 37:10Brinley. That's it.
- 37:12Yeah, situation a starter. Yeah, I agree 100%.
- 37:15We can talk about that. He's he's actually in our bus
- 37:17section. And then Zilla is the one that's
- 37:20so interesting to me because they, there was such a headache
- 37:22last year with you guys. Both had Ollie Watkins with
- 37:25Duran and then all of a sudden it's Rashford and Ascencio and
- 37:30you know, they're all rotating and you can't really start any
- 37:32of them. But now without like they don't
- 37:34have the personnel to concern me right now.
- 37:35And I think part of that ends up to your point was just about how
- 37:38they don't have Europe selfs and their budgets constricted.
- 37:41But it'll be interesting to see like if they try and spot some
- 37:43cash by the end of the year and what that looks like.
- 37:46But that's a, that's a team to keep an eye on for that reason,
- 37:49because it's, you know, Emery's prone to it if he has the
- 37:52capabilities. And he's pretty, he's pretty
- 37:55like stubborn when it comes to his lineup.
- 37:57Like he puts out basically the same lineup every week.
- 38:01But he did. But then he was switching it so
- 38:03much, right? Because he brought in all those
- 38:05players, like you said, now they're now they're back down to
- 38:09the what they have. It's going to be Morgan Rogers,
- 38:12Tillerman's, McGinn, Watkins. Like that's, that's who he's
- 38:17going to have. Man, I can't imagine another
- 38:20whole season. Him again.
- 38:21He looked like he was like down on his feet by the end of I.
- 38:23Think their trajectory is going downward?
- 38:25Because they missed Champions League.
- 38:28Because they missed Champions League and the they didn't bring
- 38:31any players and I just don't think they're going to do that
- 38:33well in the EPL. And it's just how, how many
- 38:37years in or can you essentially bring back the same core?
- 38:40Yeah, and who's going to be the goalkeeper?
- 38:41That's another key, one perfectly honest because they
- 38:43played from out the back. Your question doesn't sound like
- 38:47Martinez is going to be back there, huh?
- 38:48No, I don't think Martinez is going to be back there.
- 38:51OK, Yeah. So those are those are kind of
- 38:52just we just wanted to talk about some of those teams that
- 38:54are have a lot of rotation and certainly hope that was helpful,
- 38:57felt felt helpful to talk through it.
- 39:00OK. Then we just now that we've been
- 39:03making our rankings and we've, you know, we've seen a draft and
- 39:06we're still looking at ADP on fan tracks is officially up.
- 39:10We wanted to kind of go through some really early sleepers.
- 39:13So these are people that as of right now we're kind of seeing
- 39:15sleepers they might change on draft boards.
- 39:17So we have two each and then we have two kind of early Buster
- 39:20guys that we're concerned about. Tito, do you want to start with
- 39:22your early sleepers? First one is a Manchester City
- 39:25player, Matthews Nunez for the biggest thing for him is he got
- 39:30switched over to defense this year.
- 39:32He started all of Club World Cup games and Pep has been raving
- 39:35about him. How important has been on the as
- 39:37a right back last year on the games he just played?
- 39:41Not I think he only started 19 games and he played 26.
- 39:45From those games, the ones he qualified for clean sheets, he
- 39:49would have gotten an extra 40 points which would have ranked
- 39:52him as a 24th and total points among defenders only.
- 39:56And this is again when he only started 19 games.
- 39:59So you will, my assumption is he's going to start play more
- 40:02games and obviously with the team they have in the clean
- 40:04sheets, I think he'll has potential to be top 15 defender.
- 40:08I like that one. I, I think it's all about that
- 40:10positional shift, right? Yep.
- 40:13It it, it has my mouth warrant just as a positional shift, but
- 40:17it's also it's it's Manchester Sea.
- 40:20Who else do they have on that right side?
- 40:23Do they have anybody else that can play right back?
- 40:26I don't think so. OK, that that then yeah, let.
- 40:29Me see who their defender Well, they have the Yankees Rico Luis
- 40:34who's. Playing.
- 40:37You're gonna lose. You're gonna lose some time to
- 40:39him for sure. Yeah, you're gonna lose some.
- 40:40And then Oscar with two BS, he's in midfielder, he's not gonna
- 40:43play. He's.
- 40:44Not gonna play right back yeah, you just.
- 40:45Want you just want to bring him up, OK?
- 40:47Yeah, I did. And then they just have their
- 40:49regular rotational players, Diaz, Ikanji, Nathanakis.
- 40:52So Johnstones the only I think sometimes if they decide to go 3
- 40:56in the back which maybe I just on.
- 40:59That but the Lunas still plays you Phil in that three in the
- 41:01back when he places a wing back. If he plays as a wing back,
- 41:05which would be more beneficial because he'll be defender who
- 41:07plays more attacking. So I think he has just a bunch
- 41:10of upside for for this year. I think that's a really good
- 41:14child, Chico. I think that's a really, really
- 41:15good child. Well, we'll just wait until
- 41:18someone else says it's all right.
- 41:20Sees. It's a good point.
- 41:22Who else do you have, Chico? This one is kind of a in a Cody
- 41:25Gap Gapo. It's a little sad.
- 41:27We talked about obviously Diego Giotto, who passed away and last
- 41:31year Gapo split the starts with Diego Giotto, so he still had
- 41:34ten goals and four assists. So you would think he's going to
- 41:37get more playing time or opportunity and he's going to be
- 41:39the only one who's in play striker.
- 41:41Obviously it's a terrible reason that he's going to get more
- 41:43opportunity, but he has someone who, in my opinion, he's
- 41:48probably going to have a better year just because of the tragic
- 41:50death of Giotta. Yeah.
- 41:53I mean, it's it. Could it could be or, or they
- 41:57could just play watts and solar and and Louis Diaz in the front
- 42:013 and that just because they have the depth now and that that
- 42:05just solidifies Louis Diaz. I don't think Louis Diaz will
- 42:08leave. Well, who's going to play as the
- 42:10night? Who's going to get in the bus,
- 42:13Louis? Diaz.
- 42:15But his best positions are off the left, that's what he
- 42:17prefers. And Jack could also play the
- 42:20left as well. So I think he will.
- 42:21He will just have more opportunity.
- 42:22And I don't think he's the player who's right tied.
- 42:24I don't think he's a player that people try to draft because when
- 42:27you think about the Liverpool attack, I think he's like on the
- 42:29bottom of the totem pole. So I think he just might have a
- 42:33much better year this year. OK.
- 42:36Yeah, I think, I think we were getting with drafts like I mean
- 42:38for me what his eight, I haven't ranked at 49.
- 42:41What's his ADP looks like right now?
- 42:43He's ADP 68. Yeah.
- 42:45I mean you're, so you're talking seventh round for a guy that
- 42:48could potentially be like a third round value if he actually
- 42:50gets the starts. I think that's solid.
- 42:53That's good. Yeah.
- 42:56OK. And what do you have?
- 42:58Michael Gruda from Brian, with Pedro leaving, leaves big boots
- 43:02to fill. They had moments last season
- 43:05when we saw that as we're watching, they had only they
- 43:08only started eight games, but they did play 21 games coming
- 43:12off the bench. They got one goal and four
- 43:15assists. I just feel like if he got more
- 43:17more starts, if you really take that like that's a goal every
- 43:20two games. I mean that's an assist every
- 43:22two games and a goal and in eight unfortunate, but I think
- 43:26he can get more in this Bryan team that's, you know, always
- 43:29quite attacking, especially on the the counter.
- 43:32I think that he could come up and I'm not sure where he's
- 43:34going ADP wise, but I think he could be a nice piece that could
- 43:38that could potentially take over Pedro's role in that Bryan team.
- 43:43He's 133rd on the ADP fan tracks.
- 43:47Yeah, I mean, I, I agree with everything you said.
- 43:48I think we talked about the bright and rotation a little bit
- 43:51and that's the only maybe downside on him.
- 43:53But I think even at 1:33, so you're talking 14th round.
- 43:56Yeah, that's a really good one. None of that.
- 44:00Who else you got? I'm going to talk about Marcus
- 44:03Edwards next. He just signed for Burnley.
- 44:07He came from the Portuguese league.
- 44:08He's the next Tottenham player also.
- 44:11He's a four. He's class as a forward but
- 44:12plays as a winger. He's very tight minded.
- 44:16He loves to dribble down the wings, get balls into the box.
- 44:19I feel like he has big potential ghost points even on this
- 44:23Burnley team where they'll be playing a lot of counter attack
- 44:26football. So he'll get some opportunities
- 44:27and he'll play on that same side as Karl Walker, who could
- 44:31potentially give him some nice passes down the wing.
- 44:33I figure that he could, and I don't know.
- 44:35I don't think he even gets draft drafted if he does very late.
- 44:40I like that one. I feel like I definitely haven't
- 44:42put in a lot. I haven't been putting a lot of
- 44:43effort into the Championship players.
- 44:45I think the last few years has really turned me off.
- 44:47But it is important to look at them and I it's a really good
- 44:50point. I also feel like like this.
- 44:52Do you think this is finally the year where a Championship team
- 44:55comes in and knocks out one of the Premier League guys?
- 44:59Yes. You do, I don't.
- 45:01Wolves. Wolves, Brantford.
- 45:03I think there's a couple teams that have lost some key pieces
- 45:06that my my own issues. Last year, without Cunha, that
- 45:09team's getting relegated. Yeah, well, we said the same
- 45:12thing about Bournemouth last year when they lost Solanke.
- 45:15I I don't think I said that. You know what said that?
- 45:18When I said that. But the ironic thing is the team
- 45:23Salaki went to almost had relegated.
- 45:27You piece of shit. But you know, the ironic thing
- 45:29is that you also won a cup. A European one at that.
- 45:33Wouldn't seem all right, all right, let's let's let's not get
- 45:35this real, real, OK. Oh, yeah, I have two.
- 45:37My first one is not, not to be fair.
- 45:39From Brighton. 11.5 points per start, 8.2 ghost points per
- 45:43start. 24% of his only 24% of his points came from Gold's
- 45:47assistant clean sheets with ten starts.
- 45:51Like that's a solid amount of stats.
- 45:53He started the last six games and the season.
- 45:56His ADP is one O 6, yet his numbers are like all his
- 46:00numbers. If you're like blind testing him
- 46:01without his name would be closer to like a guy go that should be
- 46:04going in like the third fourth round.
- 46:06So, you know, I think the only the negative is that
- 46:09positionally he's a bit weird because he plays like right
- 46:12back, but he gets so at the field he can play center mid.
- 46:14But I kind of I'm like, even though he's not the same type of
- 46:17player, just points wise, the way he does it kind of reminds
- 46:19him like a Pascal go gross, like a regen for Brighton a little
- 46:22bit so. Yeah, I think we we discussed
- 46:26him before about being that new Pascal Gross and I think the I
- 46:30picked him up the end last season and he helped me, you
- 46:33know, come 6 but he he did put up points and.
- 46:38He Oh, you lost a circle trick. But yeah, I think he's he's a
- 46:43good one, especially going in the 10th, in the 11th round.
- 46:47Yeah, next I have Beto from Everton.
- 46:50Surprisingly good points were started.
- 46:52He kind of felt like he was a little bit of a meme for his
- 46:54like lack of goals, but then he really turned it on for chunks.
- 46:57So 11.2 points per start, 7.2 ghost points per start, which is
- 47:02really good for strikers. And then his his his jacks, like
- 47:06his goals of sis clean sheets is only 35%, which is again very
- 47:09low for a striker. So it's very good ghosting for
- 47:12the striker position, which is usually pretty cool.
- 47:14It's just dependent. And I also just I think the
- 47:16biggest argument I have for him is just that I really love the
- 47:20unit around him, the attacking unit with Alcraz and Die McNeil
- 47:23all around him, like kind of supporting.
- 47:25I think any striker needs a good attack force around them to
- 47:29really thrive. Like any mediocre striker, you
- 47:31know that isn't going to create all the opportunities
- 47:33themselves. And he just seems like the type
- 47:34of guy that is going to thrive in a, in a situation that's so
- 47:37positive like. That so last year we were high
- 47:39on Beto after he's got the start.
- 47:41But have you seen the striker? They signed everything.
- 47:45Yeah. Dear, dear.
- 47:46No, Barry. You think there's some
- 47:49competition? You think that the new striker
- 47:51from? I think he came from the Spanish
- 47:53league. Villarreal wouldn't get the
- 47:55starts. Calvert Lewin, left.
- 47:58Mm hmm. So I think it's Beto's position
- 48:00and I think that this new guy, Barry's probably going to eased
- 48:02in and I don't I would maybe like we'll see.
- 48:06I think it's super valid, but I feel like it's Beto's position
- 48:08to lose right now. He scored for Vila Real, he
- 48:14scored eleven goals and I think they finished like top 6.
- 48:16This guy's 6 foot 5. So.
- 48:19But Beto's big too. I mean, I think they're very
- 48:21similar profiles. Yeah, I think it's going to be
- 48:25interesting to see. I just wanted to kind of we had
- 48:27to talk about this new striker side.
- 48:28Yeah, kind of get your thought process on that.
- 48:31Yeah, I think that's super. I mean, if he takes a position,
- 48:35maybe, maybe that's maybe one way.
- 48:36If you get better, you got this guy too.
- 48:38You handcuff him, you know, just to play it safe.
- 48:42I think that's smart. OK, then move into the bus.
- 48:46Who do you guys Tico? Who do you have for your your
- 48:49bus section? First one, Maduicki, we talked
- 48:53about before last year, I think he put up good production value
- 48:56for Chelsea, especially when he was starting.
- 48:59But to me, he's most likely going to be backup Tosaka and
- 49:02then if he goes on the left left wing, there's competition
- 49:05between Martinelli, Tresart. So I just don't think he's going
- 49:08to have the value that he did, especially right, the
- 49:10soundtracks had ranked. I just don't think he's a player
- 49:14I would take a chance on, especially considering it's a
- 49:16new team, new system, all of that stuff.
- 49:19I don't think he's just going to have any offensive value.
- 49:21I think if he starts he's he'll be start a spot starter.
- 49:24Yeah, I think, I think we can. I think that he's one of those
- 49:27guys where if, you know, if he's, if he guaranteed that he
- 49:30was going to start games, you'd be super happy with his
- 49:32production as like you were last year.
- 49:34But it's just a matter of where, where he's going to get those
- 49:36games in any of the situations that he's linked to right now.
- 49:39Yeah, it doesn't look good perfectly on this for him.
- 49:42And then the other guy I have is Chris Wood, last year, career
- 49:45year, 20 goals to recess. I just don't think he's going to
- 49:47be able to replicate that year. I don't think Forrest as a team,
- 49:50they're going to be able to replicate the season they had
- 49:52from last year. He will also be turning 34 years
- 49:56old and last year, the way he ended the year, the last 11
- 49:59games he only scored two goals and had one assist.
- 50:02And for a player very goal dependent at that age on a team
- 50:04that's overachieved last year, I would stay away from him.
- 50:08I agree, I think there's a few things that else that could
- 50:10happen around him that is going to affect him if Elanger leaves.
- 50:15Does Callum Hubs or Deutsche fit the whole season?
- 50:18Those are all things that help him out.
- 50:20Is Morgan Goodwig going to start a season the way he did last
- 50:22year? But I agree, I don't think he's
- 50:25going to score 20 goals and get 3 assists again.
- 50:28And this Forest team was a Unicorn last season, so.
- 50:31You never brought in. I'm sorry.
- 50:33They also brought in and that one of the strikers from I think
- 50:36there's bots of Fogo Igor, Jesus, yes, you know and they
- 50:40also have the other guy. I forget his name right now, but
- 50:42there was a striker that they were really excited about that
- 50:44they paid a bunch of money for a year, a year ago and you got
- 50:47injured right away. So there's.
- 50:48So yeah, I don't know. I'm just saying there's some,
- 50:50there's some other people around there too.
- 50:52So I I kind of agree with that. And so who do you have?
- 50:54Because we're not doing Tiger's third one.
- 50:57I laugh when I saw it. I deleted it all right.
- 51:01I got Obi Wan and Wobi for Fulham over form, fantasy wise.
- 51:06Nine goals, 6 assists, the majority of which came from
- 51:09getting to mid season last season.
- 51:11If you really look at how he ended last year, like he did
- 51:14have some double digit games, but you can see he's dolphining.
- 51:17He had like 3.5 and a six in there in the last few games.
- 51:21I just think he he definitely overperformed.
- 51:23It was great for me, great, great pick in the sixth round
- 51:25last season, but I don't think that's going to happen again.
- 51:27He's going pretty high. It looks like his ADP is going
- 51:30to be high and I think he's just going to be really pissed off,
- 51:33you know, pick him up. Yeah, I think it's all about ADP
- 51:35for this one, right. I think, I think that's where
- 51:38the concern is what like and let's let's see actually where
- 51:42he's going ADP 18, so in the second round.
- 51:46Yep. Just feels a little early.
- 51:48But you've really got the only thing I I think I have him still
- 51:51in the third round next in in my in my my mock only because of
- 51:54what he did last season. And maybe that's the only only
- 51:59only reason why. Yeah, I, I, I guess that makes
- 52:01sense. I think, you know, I think he
- 52:03also over performed his actually by a decent amount.
- 52:07Like not not obviously like Chris Wood levels, but you know,
- 52:11yeah, he was like almost a + 4 XG over plus 4XG over performer.
- 52:17His goals were as nine and his XG was five.
- 52:21Yeah. So that's a lot.
- 52:25It's a lot man, I just don't think he can replicate in the
- 52:27full on team. Yeah, I agree.
- 52:29I think. Yeah, I think the team, the team
- 52:31factor too. OK, who else do you have?
- 52:33Brendan Johnson, Mr. Barr, Simpson, Tottenham's top goal
- 52:37scorer last season, but with the lives of us, Syontel and maybe
- 52:41Kudos who plays on that side and and tells who can't play on that
- 52:44side. I think that he was benched
- 52:46enough last season to the point where he wasn't deemed the star.
- 52:50So even though he's got eleven goals and three assists and
- 52:53he'll go on like the like, not too high, but he's still got
- 52:56high enough. We'll piss you off where I don't
- 52:57think he's going to even put in anything close to those numbers.
- 53:02It's a different team, different, different manager.
- 53:04I'm going to add some players and I think we've already looked
- 53:07at his position with kudos, so that that's what's concerning.
- 53:11I think that he very much was an ANG player in the way that
- 53:14Andrew really liked him arriving late at the back post and the
- 53:17speed at which he did stuff. And yeah, I I'm not saying he
- 53:21can't find a way to dabble in Thomas Frank.
- 53:23I think that the play style just, it doesn't suit him as
- 53:26well as as it it did for Ang. So I agree.
- 53:29All right. Is it my turn?
- 53:31Yeah. First thing I have on here is
- 53:33Jacob Murphy, A phenomenal season last year I'm just really
- 53:37worried about. We've talked about this a few
- 53:38Times Now, but new Newcastle is actively shopping for a right
- 53:41winger, a Langa rumored to be going there.
- 53:44That's really huge. I also just don't think that
- 53:46we've seen enough of a body of work of his over a long period
- 53:49of time for me to be excited about him, especially like where
- 53:54he's kind of going like, you know, fourth round, early 5th.
- 53:58To me, this feels a little scary for potentially a backup.
- 54:03Yeah. And then my next one is Kai
- 54:05Haberts. And this is the one I've just
- 54:06been banging the drumline. I think we're all kind of an in
- 54:09agreement though. Now I don't think anyone's
- 54:10really arguing with me, but I was just so shocked to see him
- 54:14in that in the job society mock go so early in the late 2nd
- 54:18because I just don't see a world where Arsenal doesn't sign
- 54:20somebody up top. And if any sort of signing
- 54:24occurs, immediately drops like the fifth round for me.
- 54:28Cuz I think, yeah, even if it is like a Cesco and they're they're
- 54:31rotating, then I still don't like think that the value is
- 54:34gonna be there in the 1st 334 rounds to have a player who's
- 54:38like a rotation player in your squad.
- 54:41And so I think like the only scenario in which he returns any
- 54:44sort of second or third round value is if like they don't sign
- 54:48a striker. And if they don't sign a
- 54:49striker, I'm pretty sure Arsenal fans are gonna ride.
- 54:53So I just don't see that world. No comments.
- 54:56No, pretty much hit the the nail on the head.
- 54:59We've already banged on about car haverts.
- 55:02If for example just say they don't sign a striker, where
- 55:06would you sign? Where would you draft car
- 55:08habits? If they don't get jokers or a
- 55:09Cesco, where would you draft car habits?
- 55:12Third round early. Mid, early, mid, yeah.
- 55:16And be happy. I'd be pretty happy, yeah.
- 55:19I wouldn't be like, pissed about it.
- 55:20Like, you know that that's a good signing.
- 55:21Yeah. Yeah, no, I think that's super.
- 55:24Yeah, for sure. Yeah, yeah.
- 55:25And but if they do sign, what do you?
- 55:27What do you have to say, Chico? You have something to say?
- 55:29No. No, I have I, I'm not a fan of
- 55:32hammers. I I would stay away from him.
- 55:34Even if they don't sign anyone else.
- 55:38I don't see a world where they don't sign up.
- 55:40That's. How I feel too.
- 55:42That's like. Having what?
- 55:42What world is this that you guys don't see?
- 55:45We've been living in this world for fucking two years that they
- 55:48haven't signed a striker. So it's more like he's not a
- 55:53striker. He wasn't supposed to be a
- 55:55striker. They signed Gabriel Jesus.
- 55:58How many years ago was that? Is he is he still on the squad?
- 56:02Yes. Yes, so maybe he takes some time
- 56:04from habit too. You coming?
- 56:07Remember, he had that gruesome injury or injury.
- 56:09Yeah, yeah. I mean, he's been.
- 56:12He should be back though by this year.
- 56:14I mean, probably this year. Yeah, it's his for year for
- 56:18Arsenal. I remember his first year, he
- 56:20was really good. Yeah, I mean, he was getting
- 56:22drafted. I don't know if it was last
- 56:24year, if it was two years ago, he was getting drafted as like a
- 56:25second, third rounder. Well his first year he I have
- 56:29his numbers up here at 11 goals, so the following year I think he
- 56:31was getting drafted in the second round.
- 56:34Yeah, All right. So those are those sections.
- 56:36We just have some fun stuff for some.
- 56:37Would you rather's thanks for ever put these in because I
- 56:39definitely didn't. Would you rather the lap Jackson
- 56:43or Pedro? Are we giving reasons or we just
- 56:48want to power through it just. Just do it.
- 56:50Just enter it quick and if it's if we and we can go from there.
- 56:54Pedro the LAP waiver wire trash. Even though I think Nicole
- 56:59Jackson's been out of the three, I'm going to go to lap because I
- 57:02feel like he might get starred ahead of all of them.
- 57:06Interesting. I'm actually gonna I'm going to
- 57:07job Pedro just in the sense that he's more versatile.
- 57:11So you can if he can win that starter role, great.
- 57:13But then he can also play in the left wing.
- 57:14He can also play in the 10. There's just a little more
- 57:17versatile tilty there to hit for him to get game time.
- 57:19Even though I think that there's gonna be there's gonna be games
- 57:21where I think job Pedro plays with Jackson to allow, you know,
- 57:25but I don't think there's gonna be a lot.
- 57:26I mean, maybe they will, but I don't.
- 57:28I don't think that's the case for the other two.
- 57:31And also Jackson starting the year on the red.
- 57:33Yes, that's it. OK.
- 57:36Would you rather Cunya and Bueno?
- 57:38Cunya easily. He just so much goes points, he
- 57:41does so much for the team, he and I think.
- 57:45What team did he do that for? Wolves and I think with Bruno
- 57:48being there, it's going to take a lot of the pressure off of him
- 57:50as well, so I think Cunya is going to have a really good
- 57:51year. And I'm going to go.
- 57:55I'm going to go and boom ball just because I feel like boom
- 57:59ball. I think he can do a lot more on
- 58:03the Manchester United team because they they go do go down
- 58:05the wings quite a bit. Kunya's going to be stuck in
- 58:08that middle and I think Bruno's going to be just dominating the
- 58:12middle and won the ball at a time so.
- 58:14Well, he's not even on the United team.
- 58:17He will be, he will. He's going to be I, I'm going to
- 58:22go above too. I think I'm ranked one position
- 58:24higher than Kunya. I think it's just the stability.
- 58:26I think Emblem has offers more, I think, I mean, it's a little
- 58:31too like mercurial for me in the sense that like he might
- 58:34explode. He might, I don't know.
- 58:36I just there's a little more uncertainty there with like his
- 58:39attitude, personality and stuff. And I think I don't think
- 58:41there's that much daylight between them as far as ability.
- 58:44And so I think I just got to go on to, I think is less likely to
- 58:47explode or do something stupid or get get if I was a manager or
- 58:52something. Yeah, and one more.
- 58:53OK, next one. Gordon or Haverts Gordon?
- 58:59What is what is happening here? Well, think of it if if there's
- 59:02no striker, if they don't get a striker.
- 59:05There's no, there's no world that I'm taking haverts over,
- 59:09Gordon. OK, something so making it
- 59:11possible be objective. OK, Gordon.
- 59:15I didn't. Gordon too.
- 59:16I'd go Gordon also. Yeah, OK.
- 59:19This is a good one. This is like a positional
- 59:21difference 1 So Whista or McNeil, you're high.
- 59:25You're high on Whista. You guys noticed in the inkings?
- 59:29I'll go McNeil. I'll go McNeil also.
- 59:32Yeah, I think that's just the point.
- 59:34The points are just too good there.
- 59:36Yeah, the amount of points that McNeil generates, even if you
- 59:38are the Wistar fan, you know. Also, if it's a close one, go
- 59:43with midfielder. Well, I think in the past, yes,
- 59:46I think this new season, I'm not too, I'm not sure how much you
- 59:49watched the last episode, but it seems like there's a little bit
- 59:51of a shift towards forward being a little scarce right now.
- 59:55Well, it's not just that you get that.
- 59:58I know it's not a big deal, but you get one extra point for
- 1:00:00clean sheets. That you but you also get and
- 1:00:03you can also, you can play five of them as opposed to being on
- 1:00:07being able to play 3 forwards. But yeah, I think that I think
- 1:00:10forward is going to be it's going to be interesting.
- 1:00:11There's a scary media, yeah. It's going to be fun.
- 1:00:13OK, these next three questions ends up you can do.
- 1:00:15I have no clue what they're even asking.
- 1:00:17OK, so which player has played the most seasons but also been
- 1:00:22substituted off in the Premier League?
- 1:00:25It's someone that's like in our realm of.
- 1:00:26It's not like a random name. No, it was.
- 1:00:29It was a start in like 1950. No, this is the Premier League.
- 1:00:33So the Premier League's not only been around since 96, I figured
- 1:00:35from 96 onwards. But like someone that was
- 1:00:38someone that we like talk about occasionally.
- 1:00:40Someone. Someone that you would know.
- 1:00:42But what is it you want? Some you.
- 1:00:43Want some? You want some hints?
- 1:00:45Yeah. Are they still in the league?
- 1:00:46No, they're just. Still in the league most seasons
- 1:00:48subbed off the most, Wayne Rooney.
- 1:00:52No right team though. He's Welsh.
- 1:00:55Oh, gigs. There you go.
- 1:00:58So he's played the most seasons, not necessarily the most
- 1:01:01appearances, but he's also been substituted off the most.
- 1:01:03Also does it. Aren't his goal system is
- 1:01:05actually really bad when he like they're really not like that
- 1:01:09elite at all. No, but he's got a lot of hockey
- 1:01:11assists. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 1:01:15OK, all right. Who holds, who holds the record
- 1:01:18for most Premier League appearances?
- 1:01:19You you guys should all know this one.
- 1:01:22Is it a goalie? No, it's not, Goalie.
- 1:01:25Is it Alan Scherer? No.
- 1:01:27No, that was going to be my guess so.
- 1:01:30Rio Some players started really young and played in the Premier
- 1:01:32League their whole career. Is it Rio?
- 1:01:35No. Is it a defender?
- 1:01:37He's a sentiment fielder. Frank Vampire No.
- 1:01:40No, he's played. He's played for Villa.
- 1:01:43He's James Villain, obviously. No, no, no, Gareth.
- 1:01:47That was what I thought it was going to be.
- 1:01:48Gareth Barry, 653 games. Can we click on check some of
- 1:01:55these? I've got them on the Internet
- 1:01:57right here, OK? Yeah, you say you have it on the
- 1:02:01Internet. Means nothing to us.
- 1:02:03All right, what goalkeeper has the most clean sheets in Premier
- 1:02:05League history? Oh, no, no.
- 1:02:07No. Most clean sheets in Premier
- 1:02:11League history? It's going to be Vanderstar.
- 1:02:14No. Check.
- 1:02:15PH Check. PH Check 202.
- 1:02:19Yep, all right, we're done. Yeah, we're done.
- 1:02:22This has been episode 96 of Draft Offsides.
- 1:02:25My name is Keith, I'm with Tico Enzo and we will see you soon,
- 1:02:28very soon. The rankings are coming up.
- 1:02:31We are almost done with ours. It's waiting on Tico.
- 1:02:34Just went on Tico. No joking.
- 1:02:36We're waiting on Sergei, actually.
- 1:02:38No, we're waiting on Tico. Are we seeing?
- 1:02:39His rankings? Let me see, let me.
- 1:02:41Have you looked at his tab? Yeah, it's fucking scattered,
- 1:02:44mate. It's fucking scattered bro.
