- Lucas: Welcome back to Learn Spanish with Fexingo. I am Lucas. Luna: And I am Luna. Hi everyone. It is so good to be here again. Lucas: Yes. We have been talking about the kitchen lately. Lots of chopping and stirring. Luna: I know. I still have flour on my shirt from that last episode. Lucas: Well today we are leaving the kitchen. We are going outside. Luna: Oh, I like that. Outside sounds nice. What are we doing outside? Lucas: We are learning how to talk about moving around. Three very common verbs. Luna: Three verbs? Okay. I am ready. Let us start with the first one. Lucas: The first verb is 'ir'. It means 'to go'. Luna: 'Ir'. To go. That is simple enough. Lucas: Yes. Now let us put it into a phrase. 'Voy a la tienda'. Luna: 'Voy a la tienda'. Let me try that. Voy... a la... tienda. Lucas: Perfect. 'Voy a la tienda' means 'I am going to the store'. Luna: I am going to the store. Yes. I can use that when I buy bread. Lucas: Exactly. So if someone asks where you are going, you say 'Voy a la tienda'. Luna: Let us hear it again slowly. 'Voy a la tienda'. Lucas: 'Voy a la tienda'. Luna: 'Voy a la tienda'. I think I have that one down. Lucas: Good. Now the second verb. This one is the opposite direction. Luna: Opposite? So instead of going away, you come closer? Lucas: Yes. The verb is 'venir'. It means 'to come'. Luna: 'Venir'. To come. Okay. How do we say 'come here' or 'come home'? Lucas: A very common phrase is 'Ven a casa'. Luna: 'Ven a casa'. Come home. Or come to my house. Lucas: Yes. It is an invitation. You tell a friend to join you at your place. Luna: Let me try. 'Ven a casa'. Vennn... a casa. Lucas: That was excellent. Very clear. 'Ven a casa'. Luna: 'Ven a casa'. I like this one. It feels friendly. Lucas: It is warm and inviting. Let us repeat it together. 'Ven a casa'. Luna: 'Ven a casa'. Yeah. That is really easy to remember. Lucas: Okay. Two down. One to go. The third verb is 'salir'. Luna: 'Salir'. Does that mean to exit? Lucas: Yes. It means 'to leave' or 'to go out'. Luna: Okay. So if I am inside and I want to go out, I use 'salir'? Lucas: Correct. A natural phrase is 'Salgo ahora'. Luna: 'Salgo ahora'. I leave now. Or I am leaving now. Lucas: Yes. You use it when you are telling someone your plan. Luna: Let me practice. 'Salgo ahora'. Sahl-goh ah oh rah. Lucas: Spot on. 'Salgo ahora'. Luna: 'Salgo ahora'. It sounds urgent but polite. Lucas: It is just factual. You are stating a fact. 'Salgo ahora'. Luna: Let us review them all quickly. First is 'Voy a la tienda'. Lucas: 'Voy a la tienda'. Going to the store. Luna: Second is 'Ven a casa'. Lucas: 'Ven a casa'. Coming home. Luna: Third is 'Salgo ahora'. Lucas: 'Salgo ahora'. Leaving now. Luna: Those three cover so much movement. Go, come, leave. Lucas: They are the basics of movement. Without them, you cannot make plans. Luna: True. I would never know when to meet my friends without these. Lucas: So keep practicing. Say them out loud while you walk around your room. Luna: I will try walking to the door and saying 'Salgo ahora'. Lucas: Just don't actually leave before we finish recording. Luna: Oh no. I promise I will stay. 'Voy a quedarme'. Lucas: Good choice. Let us do 'Voy a la tienda' one more time. Luna: Ready. 'Voy a la tienda'. Lucas: Very good. And 'Ven a casa'. Luna: 'Ven a casa'. It feels natural. Lucas: And finally 'Salgo ahora'. Luna: 'Salgo ahora'. Time to go, right? Lucas: Not yet. We have time for one small scene. Imagine you are at work. Luna: Okay. I am at my desk. My friend calls me. Lucas: He says, 'Hola! Ven a casa, por favor'. Luna: Oh. He wants me to come home. But I need to finish something first. Lucas: So you reply, 'Lo siento. Salgo ahora, pero luego voy a la tienda'. Luna: Sorry. I am leaving now, but later I go to the store. Lucas: Perfect. You used all three phrases in one sentence. Luna: Wow. I did not even think about putting them together like that. Lucas: That is how language works. You connect the dots. 'Ven a casa'. Luna: 'Ven a casa'. I will invite my neighbor soon. Lucas: And then you can say 'Salgo ahora' when it is time to go. Luna: And maybe stop at the market on the way. 'Voy a la tienda'. Lucas: Exactly. Small steps. Big progress. You are doing great. Luna: Thank you, Lucas. I feel more confident moving around in Spanish. Lucas: That is the goal. Practice these until we chat again. Luna: See you next time. 'Hasta luego'. Lucas: Bye everyone. Keep speaking.
