- 0:01But all is screened, subliminal, mystical.
- 0:06It needs the intuitive heart, the inward turn.
- 0:10It needs the power of a spiritual gaze.
- 0:14Else to our waking mind, small moment look, a goalless voyage
- 0:19seems our dubious coarse. Some chance has settled or
- 0:24hazarded, some will or a necessity without aim or cause,
- 0:30unwillingly compelled to emerge and be in this dense field where
- 0:36nothing is plain or sure. Our very being seems to us
- 0:41questionable, our life a vague experiment, the soul a
- 0:47flickering light in a strange ignorant world.
- 0:51The Earth. A brute mechanic accident, a net
- 0:55of death in which by chance we live.
- 0:59All we have learned appears a doubtful guess.
- 1:02The achievement done. A passage or a phase whose
- 1:06farther end is hidden from our sight.
- 1:10A chance happening or a fortuitous fate.
- 1:14Out of the unknown, we move to the unknown.
- 1:18Ever surround our brief existence here, Gray shadows of
- 1:22unanswered questionings, the dark in conscience, sineless
- 1:27mysteries stand up unsolved behind fate's starting line.
- 1:34An aspiration in the night's profound seed of a perishing
- 1:38body and half lit mind uplift its lonely tongue of conscious
- 1:43fire towards an undying light, forever lost only adheres sole
- 1:50echo of its call, the dim reply in man's unknowing heart and
- 1:57meats, not understanding why it came or for what reason is the
- 2:02suffering. Here God sanctioned to the
- 2:06paradox of life and the Riddle of the Immortal's birth in time.
- 2:13Along a path of eon Serpentine. In the coiled blackness of her
- 2:18nessient course, the earth goddess toils across the sands
- 2:22of time. A being is in her whom she hopes
- 2:26to know. A word speaks to her heart.
- 2:29She cannot hear. A fate compels whose forms she
- 2:33cannot see. In her unconscious orbit through
- 2:37the void, out of her mindless depths, she strives to rise a
- 2:43perilous life. Her gain, a struggling joy, a
- 2:48thought that can conceive but hardly knows, arises slowly in
- 2:53her and creates the idea. The speech that labels more than
- 2:58it lights a trembling gladness that is less than bliss, invades
- 3:04from all this beauty that must die.
- 3:07Alarmed by the sorrow dragging at her feet, and conscious of
- 3:12the high things not yet won ever, she nurses in her
- 3:16sleepless breast an inward urge that takes from her rest and
- 3:20peace. Ignorant and weary and
- 3:24invincible, she seeks through the soul's war and quivering
- 3:29pain, the pure perfection her marred nature needs.
- 3:34A breath of Godhead on her stone and mire, a faith she craves
- 3:39that can survive defeat. The sweetness of a love that
- 3:44knows not death. The radiance of a truth forever
- 3:47surer. A light grows in her, she
- 3:51assumes a voice, her state she learns to read and the ACT she
- 3:56has done, but the one needed truth eludes her grasp, herself,
- 4:02and all of which she is the sign.
- 4:05An inarticulate whisper drives her steps, of which she feels
- 4:10the force but not the sense. A few rare intimations come as
- 4:15guides. Immense divining flashes cleave
- 4:18her brain, and sometimes in her hours of dream and muse the
- 4:24truth that she has missed looks out on her as if far off.
- 4:30And yet within her soul a change comes near that flees from her
- 4:35surmise, and ever postponed compels attempt and hope it
- 4:43seems too great for mortal hope to dare.
- 4:48A vision meets her of supernal powers that draw her as if
- 4:52mighty kinsmen lost, approaching with a strange great luminous
- 4:57gaze. Then as she moved to all that
- 5:01she has not, and stretches arms to what was never hers,
- 5:05outstretching arms to the unconscious void.
- 5:09Passionate, she prays to invisible forms of gods,
- 5:13soliciting from dumb fate and toiling time what most she
- 5:18needs. What most exceeds her scope.
- 5:22A mind unvisited by illusion's gleams, a will expressive of
- 5:27soul's deity, a strength not forced to stumble by its speed,
- 5:33a joy that drags, not sorrow as its shade.
- 5:37For these she yearns and feels them destined hers.
- 5:42Heaven's privilege, she claims as her own right.
- 5:46Just is her claim. The all witnessing gods approve,
- 5:52clear in a greater light than reason owns our intuitions are
- 5:57its title deeds. Our souls accept what our blind
- 6:03thoughts refuse. The Earth's wing.
- 6:07Chimeras are truth's deeds in heaven, the impossible God's
- 6:12sign of things to be.
