- Sue: Recently I returned home from a trip visiting family to find that the two gutters on my home which had been falling down and one damaged were fixed. My neighbors had been by the house when I was away to make the repairs. I'm expressing extreme gratitude for their help in getting that situation resolved. Particularly so the day after I came home started about a two or three day rain session, because now that they're fixed, of course they're draining the water away from the house as they properly should. And it's also meant that the down spot that I have to collect rainwater is functioning more efficiently now. Because even though we've received about an inch and a half of rain each day for the past two days, three days, the water table still hasn't come up above the foundation of the house, which is to say that the water in the well still low, since the runoff hasn't reached the aquifer. So that rainwater is what I'm using now to do laundry rather than stressing the well with using the machine. For me to do the laundry in an alternative way with water, rainwater consumes about ten gallons. And of course I can control how much water and how much laundry I'm cleaning by pouring the water in. During the time that my husband was ill, the washing machine broke and because he couldn't inspect it, he couldn't either tell me by remote how to fix it, nor did he want anyone in the house to fix it while he was sick. So we bought a small portable unit with a spin cylinder and a wash cylinder. And of course it takes more time and interaction to get the laundry done in this way, but I'm not stressing the well. And that pretty much means that although I have to spend more time Preparing laundry, having water in the well for showering and other daily needs is much preferred. It's about the adaptation. And I'm grateful that I c that I held on to that washing machine. Although I have asked my neighbors for help with these gutters for a while, it's a situation where when I was occupying the house as I normally do, I wasn't gonna press the issue with them because after all, they're doing me a favor. I'm also grateful to another neighbor who installed some replacement ceiling fans. And now I just need two neighbors to come by and shift the newly acquired inroom air conditioner, it's actually a mini split, up to the second floor via the wood spiral staircase. I tried to do it myself the other day. Didn't get beyond the first rung, so for the moment the weather isn't necessitating the use of the second airroom air conditioner upstairs, but I'm grateful nonetheless. They had to slept the box the boxes indoors from the delivery. They were seventy pounds each, so Grateful for that. The gratitude I feel for trusting some neighbors to be in my house when I'm not there and for the willingness to give of their time. They don't want their labor compensated, but of course that means I'll be cooking, baking, adding in a pizza night or something like that for their kids to enjoy. Cash is not flowing enough to hire a proper professional and nor can I reimburse them for the professional value of the work that was done. At the moment this is the best I am able to do. To repay some part of that gratitude I feel. Other than if they happen to listen to this blog post. Hi, thanks for thanks for being such exceptional humans. Grateful for the fact that you stand up when needed. It's what makes living by myself in my home as a sixty five year old widow more comfortable and livable. When of course a third set of neighbors, who are related to the gutter fixer, took care of Rita while I was away. She's very happy with them, for which I'm grateful. Because she gets to stay in the same neighborhood, encounter the same doggies and humans, and I'm the only one that's missing at that moment. And they do such a beautiful job with her that for a few days she wants to go back to their places home. These are all asks that I made of my neighbors and they stood up, showed up, and acted in a passionate, caring response. Cause and effect, you know. Now all I have to do out of gratitude, cure. More income so that I'm not in a situation where I'm asking for volunteers. Doesn't matter that they want to help. It's about being more solidly sustaining myself. Note the college prep school that I attended, the Interlock and Center for the Arts, published the results of their investigation with regard to Epstein, other sexually involved matters with students, and it was the school was described as a haven for child prodigies. That's a label I never applied to myself. Prodigy. Certainly impossible to see when you're a child, my experience. Maybe others self recognize. So I guess I d can apply the label that a child prodigy isn't always guaranteed a prosperous income just because they're smart or talented or gifted. Hey, I was also a student in the gate program. Doesn't matter what all these labels are. Not putting food on the table at the moment. That's alright. I've got my rice and beans, tin fish. But if you're listening to this and have need of a childhood prodigy that has exceptional tools and an enormous IQ of a hundred and sixty two, give me a call. Send me a text. Better yet, comment on this video and let's talk about what I might be able to help you with. My situation of free paying gratitude also means my responsibility morally. To continue to send out my generosity to strangers. So would you like to be the beneficiary of my gratitude? Let me know. I've got plenty. In the meantime, thanks for sharing your energy today. I appreciate you.
