- 0:32Speaker 1: just want to front load it by saying it was
- 0:34Speaker 1: an awesome and drama-licious episode. I was actually telling Beatrice
- 0:39Speaker 1: that I think this might be the best episode that
- 0:41Speaker 1: I've ever seen on the show for all of these seasons.
- 0:44Speaker 2: It was really great.
- 0:46Speaker 1: They covered so much. And so this recap, I hope,
- 0:48Speaker 1: is pretty juicy. But before we get into it, we
- 0:51Speaker 1: do have to issue you that disclaimer, which is to
- 0:53Speaker 1: hide your wife And hide your kids.

- 1:47Speaker 1: Well, kind of.
- 1:48Speaker 2: Maybe.
- 1:48Speaker 1: A little bit.
- 1:49Speaker 2: A little bit.
- 1:50Speaker 1: We chopped it up, though.
- 1:51Speaker 2: We did. But we reacted to that only on Patreon.

- 2:19Speaker 1: Now, we also wanted to mention because we're about to
- 2:22Speaker 1: go into the new season, season 21 of Sister Wives,
- 2:25Speaker 1: we wanted to mention to you that we're going to

- 2:46Speaker 1: think about that trailer? What do you think about Cody
- 2:49Speaker 1: and Robin not returning? We're going to keep these lines
- 2:53Speaker 1: open throughout the entire season and we definitely want to
- 2:56Speaker 1: hear from you. So if you want to sound off too,
- 3:00Speaker 1: Beatrice and Delia, all you have to do is go
- 3:02Speaker 1: to speakpipe.com slash realitytvcringe. That's speakpipe.com slash realitytvcringe. Let us
- 3:11Speaker 1: know what you're thinking. We'd love to hear about it. Yes. Now,
- 3:15Speaker 1: before we launch into this recap, there were just a
- 3:18Speaker 1: couple of items of gossip this week.
- 3:21Speaker 2: Just a little bit.
- 3:22Speaker 1: In the Sister Wives universe, and we just wanted to
- 3:24Speaker 1: touch upon it. Take it away.
- 3:27Speaker 2: Well, the first one has been posted kind of everywhere. Even,
- 3:31Speaker 2: what was that article? TVAce.com or something even reported on
- 3:36Speaker 2: it of an alleged Cody Brown Instagram post that has
- 3:41Speaker 2: been deleted.
- 3:42Speaker 1: Oh, no. What did it say, Beatrice?
- 3:45Speaker 2: It says, after more than 16 years filming Sister Wives,
- 3:49Speaker 2: Robin and I have made the very hard decision to
- 3:52Speaker 2: walk away from the show and We are grateful for
- 3:54Speaker 2: the opportunity to share our family with all of you.
- 3:57Speaker 2: Through all the ups and downs, we have opened our
- 3:59Speaker 2: homes and hearts to so many of you. You are welcome.
- 4:03Speaker 2: But times have changed. And so is our family and
- 4:06Speaker 2: the nature of the show. We are no longer interested
- 4:09Speaker 2: in the narrative that is being shared and have decided
- 4:11Speaker 2: our piece cannot be bought. We wish the other three
- 4:14Speaker 2: women the best of luck and hope they can forge
- 4:16Speaker 2: their own paths forward without using Robin and I for
- 4:19Speaker 2: a storyline. To our loyal fans, this will not be
- 4:23Speaker 2: the last you see of us. We have some very
- 4:25Speaker 2: exciting announcements coming soon. Peace and love, Cody Brown.
- 4:29Speaker 1: So of course, when I saw that initially, I was like,
- 4:33Speaker 1: oh my God, it has been Quite a long time
- 4:36Speaker 1: since Cody Brown has posted on social media. I think
- 4:39Speaker 1: the last time he posted was for Special Forces and
- 4:42Speaker 1: it felt like a forced post that he was contractually
- 4:45Speaker 1: obligated to make. So I got really excited and then
- 4:48Speaker 1: I got kind of reactive because of the tone of
- 4:52Speaker 1: this particular post. But then Beatrice informed me that... It's fake.
- 4:58Speaker 1: It's a fake post.
- 4:59Speaker 2: It's a fake post.
- 5:00Speaker 1: They got me. They got the boomer in the room.
- 5:02Speaker 1: I'm booming out.
- 5:03Speaker 2: They got a lot of people, actually. I mean, a
- 5:05Speaker 2: lot of people think that this post is real, but
- 5:08Speaker 2: it was fabricated. It was created by Ace Fanning, who
- 5:12Speaker 2: is like one of the hosts of the Shit Talk podcast.
- 5:15Speaker 2: And they don't like us.
- 5:16Speaker 1: They hate us. I don't know why they would hate us.
- 5:19Speaker 1: We are so awesome. I think we mentioned them once. Probably.
- 5:22Speaker 2: And they didn't like that.
- 5:23Speaker 1: Yeah. They didn't like it at all.
- 5:25Speaker 2: For some reason. I mean, we were being nice, but whatever.
- 5:27Speaker 2: So yeah, they were the ones that created it. They
- 5:29Speaker 2: posted it on Instagram and they posted it as if
- 5:33Speaker 2: it was real. And then they edited the post and said,
- 5:36Speaker 2: just FYI, this is a joke, but this is after
- 5:39Speaker 2: everybody took it very seriously. Oh no.
- 5:41Speaker 1: Okay.
- 5:42Speaker 2: So it's been going around the internets and it's fake.
- 5:44Speaker 1: And it has been debunked. Yes. So nobody believed that hype.
- 5:47Speaker 2: No one at all.
- 5:49Speaker 1: Now, I also know that Janelle made a post on
- 5:51Speaker 1: her Instagram recently, which was an actual real post. Tell
- 5:55Speaker 1: us about that. Yeah.
- 5:56Speaker 2: So she posted a video of her and her boyfriend, Pia.
- 6:00Speaker 1: Pia.
- 6:01Speaker 2: And they're driving around somewhere. And Janelle captioned the video saying,
- 6:06Speaker 2: a nod to my passenger princess era. I'm not sure
- 6:10Speaker 2: I've ever been one before, but I could really get
- 6:12Speaker 2: used to this. And then she had a comment that said, um,
- 6:16Speaker 2: Pete drives, he opens my car door and he makes
- 6:20Speaker 2: sure I am taken care of. He spoils me in
- 6:22Speaker 2: lots of old fashioned ways. I really could get used
- 6:25Speaker 2: to it. And then she had a little comment underneath
- 6:28Speaker 2: that was a little bit of a dig to Cody
- 6:30Speaker 2: Brown where she said, and he gives me the luggage
- 6:33Speaker 2: rack for all of those asking. I've never had someone
- 6:36Speaker 2: watch out for me and take care of me like
- 6:39Speaker 2: he does.
- 6:39Speaker 1: Heart eyes.
- 6:41Speaker 2: So that was pretty great. I mean, it was a
- 6:43Speaker 2: little bit of a dig to Cody.
- 6:44Speaker 1: Definitely a swipe. Yes.
- 6:46Speaker 2: And I appreciate that. I want more of that.
- 6:49Speaker 1: It is a crumb.
- 6:50Speaker 2: A little bit.
- 6:50Speaker 1: It is barely a vapor that we can detect. Like
- 6:54Speaker 1: we need more.
- 6:55Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 6:56Speaker 1: But I mean, I will take whatever I can get,
- 6:59Speaker 1: like a greedy raccoon.
- 7:00Speaker 2: Totally.
- 7:00Speaker 1: Drag him.
- 7:01Speaker 2: I know.
- 7:02Speaker 1: We need you guys to drag him.
- 7:04Speaker 2: At least he's trained her well though.
- 7:05Speaker 1: Yes. I'm so happy for that. Me too. She deserves that.
- 7:08Speaker 1: I truly believe it.
- 7:09Speaker 2: She does.
- 7:10Speaker 1: All right. So without further ado, now that that's out
- 7:13Speaker 1: of the way, let's get into our recap of Sister
- 7:17Speaker 1: Wives season 11. Before we do, we should probably mention
- 7:20Speaker 1: we're not going to be here next week.
- 7:21Speaker 2: Oh yeah.
- 7:22Speaker 1: So we're just going to do this one episode and
- 7:24Speaker 1: then we're just going to peace out on season 11. Well,
- 7:26Speaker 1: this is a long episode though. It was a two
- 7:28Speaker 1: hour special episode. So we're going to cover it this
- 7:32Speaker 1: week and then we're going to take off next week
- 7:34Speaker 1: in preparation for the big event, the cultural event in
- 7:38Speaker 1: the dumpster of So next week, we're not going to
- 7:40Speaker 1: be posting anything on our podcast or on YouTube, only
- 7:43Speaker 1: on Patreon.
- 7:45Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 7:45Speaker 1: So if you still want some contents from your girls,
- 7:48Speaker 1: make sure you sign up to Patreon. Okay, without any
- 7:51Speaker 1: further ado, season 11, episode 1, entitled... It's Worse Than
- 7:55Speaker 1: We Thought.
- 7:56Speaker 2: And it is. Dun, dun, dun.
- 7:57Speaker 1: It is worse than we thought. Oh, I didn't get
- 7:59Speaker 1: your takeaway.
- 8:00Speaker 2: I mean, do we need one?
- 8:02Speaker 1: I have one, though.
- 8:03Speaker 2: My takeaway is Too Many Tacos Tony has got some audacity.
- 8:08Speaker 1: Oh, all the audacity. Audacity. For some reason, I had
- 8:12Speaker 1: recalled him bringing up the Browns taking a loan against
- 8:16Speaker 1: their homes, which they could not do because they're overly leveraged,
- 8:19Speaker 1: I'm sure. But I had thought that that happened more
- 8:22Speaker 1: into the season. I didn't know straight out of the gate.
- 8:26Speaker 1: We were going right to the loan. Me neither. That
- 8:28Speaker 1: is a lot of audacity. My takeaway is, and I've
- 8:32Speaker 1: already told you because I left you a message on
- 8:34Speaker 1: the WhatsApp, is just that Mary in this conversation at
- 8:37Speaker 1: the end of this episode with Cody was such a
- 8:40Speaker 1: petulant little baby. The way that she talks, the way
- 8:46Speaker 1: that she can't just be, I don't know, a normal
- 8:50Speaker 1: person having a conversation with It really rubbed me the
- 8:54Speaker 1: wrong way for someone who has a desire, which her
- 8:59Speaker 1: desire seems to be to reconnect with Leon, but also
- 9:03Speaker 1: to reconnect with Cody and to get their marriage back
- 9:06Speaker 1: on track. Just for somebody who has that kind of
- 9:08Speaker 1: a desire, like, why aren't you being a little nicer? Like,
- 9:11Speaker 1: you're just such a bull in a china shop. She
- 9:13Speaker 1: was annoying me.
- 9:15Speaker 2: That's fair.
- 9:15Speaker 1: She was annoying me.
- 9:16Speaker 2: She is annoying.
- 9:17Speaker 1: She is annoying. And that's all. That's all I have
- 9:19Speaker 1: to say. Okay, let's get into the recap.
- 9:20Speaker 2: Take it away. Well, like we said, there's a lot
- 9:23Speaker 2: in this episode. We have a lot of things going on.
- 9:26Speaker 2: The start of the episode was kind of a nothing burger.
- 9:29Speaker 2: We have Madison going over to Christine's house to ask
- 9:31Speaker 2: little Truly if she would be the flower girl at
- 9:34Speaker 2: her wedding, which I thought was kind of cute. Truly
- 9:37Speaker 2: is adorable to me. She's got such sass. I know
- 9:39Speaker 2: you are a kid hater.
- 9:41Speaker 1: I'm not a kid hater. I love children. Well. But,
- 9:44Speaker 1: I mean, she's just got a lot of energy.
- 9:48Speaker 2: And you can't handle that.
- 9:49Speaker 1: She's very talkative. I can handle that. I just, I
- 9:52Speaker 1: don't know. There's just something about it. It's annoying to me.
- 9:54Speaker 2: I thought she was cute.
- 9:55Speaker 1: Sure.
- 9:55Speaker 2: She's very talkative. She's got a big personality.
- 9:58Speaker 1: Very excited to be the flat.
- 10:00Speaker 2: Girl.
- 10:00Speaker 1: Yeah. It's very cute how she talks.
- 10:02Speaker 2: I thought she was cute. And obviously Madison is stressed
- 10:05Speaker 2: out because her wedding is in two months. It's in June.
- 10:08Speaker 2: And so everybody, not just her, is prepping for this wedding.
- 10:12Speaker 2: But then we promptly get right into the Tony McKelvey
- 10:16Speaker 2: stuff because we have Christine who calling Cody over and saying,
- 10:20Speaker 2: we need to talk, bitch. And we have this whole
- 10:23Speaker 2: like theatrical thing about how Cody gets these phone calls
- 10:27Speaker 2: like multiple times a day from multiple women, multiple members
- 10:30Speaker 2: of the family and how it stresses them out a bit.
- 10:33Speaker 2: So he goes over to Christine's house and this is
- 10:35Speaker 2: where Christine tells Cody that McKelty came up to her
- 10:38Speaker 2: in Hawaii to tell her that Tony wants to marry her.
- 10:42Speaker 2: And Cody is like just as shocked as Christine. He's like,
- 10:46Speaker 2: what the hell? We don't even know this guy. But
- 10:48Speaker 2: what bothered me is that Christine and Cody are like,
- 10:51Speaker 2: we don't know him at all, but he's come over
- 10:53Speaker 2: to the house a few times.
- 10:55Speaker 1: Right.
- 10:56Speaker 2: So they have gotten to meet him. We were wondering
- 10:59Speaker 2: last week if, you know, Christine had this big reaction
- 11:02Speaker 2: because she had not met Tony at all. Right. Which
- 11:04Speaker 2: would have been fair and valid, but no, they have
- 11:06Speaker 2: met him. They know that McKelty's been dating him and
- 11:10Speaker 2: they're acting like they don't know him very well at all.
- 11:13Speaker 2: And I just I'm just going to say I'm bothered
- 11:16Speaker 2: by Christine and Cody's reaction to this for most of
- 11:19Speaker 2: the episode because they think it's very rushed. They think
- 11:24Speaker 2: that McKelty and Tony are like jumping the guns. And
- 11:28Speaker 2: I'm like, didn't you raise your kids to be this way?
- 11:31Speaker 1: Weren't you this way?
- 11:32Speaker 2: Weren't you this way?
- 11:33Speaker 1: I mean, as recently as Robin, like, didn't they court
- 11:36Speaker 1: for like five or six months and then they got married, right?
- 11:40Speaker 2: I think so. I think they had probably had a
- 11:41Speaker 2: little bit longer, but the OG three definitely were rushed
- 11:45Speaker 2: into their weddings like within three months.
- 11:48Speaker 1: Right.
- 11:48Speaker 2: Like it was very, very quick. This is very common
- 11:51Speaker 2: for a lot of Mormon marriages and I'm assuming fundamentalist
- 11:54Speaker 2: Mormon marriages. So I'm just like, y'all need to chill
- 11:57Speaker 2: out with the whole it's rushed because this is what
- 12:00Speaker 2: you raised your kids to do. This is what you
- 12:03Speaker 2: modeled for them. And I understand Cody being like kind
- 12:06Speaker 2: of reserved about it. He's like, well, they should take
- 12:08Speaker 2: some more time to get to know each other. You know,
- 12:11Speaker 2: with all my years of wisdom, you know, I've realized
- 12:15Speaker 2: looking back that rushing into my marriages wasn't the smartest thing.
- 12:19Speaker 1: Which was an interesting statement because I think he's in
- 12:23Speaker 1: this at least part of the timeline. He is regretting
- 12:26Speaker 1: his primary three relationships with the OG3. I thought there
- 12:30Speaker 1: was a difference though in the reservation thing. that Cody
- 12:34Speaker 1: had versus the reservation that Christine had, because Cody seemed
- 12:37Speaker 1: to be motivated primarily by money. And he did say like,
- 12:42Speaker 1: it's too soon. And maybe he does sincerely want better
- 12:45Speaker 1: for his kids because he is in a season of
- 12:48Speaker 1: life where he's realizing like that didn't that formula didn't
- 12:51Speaker 1: work for me. I should have waited. I should have
- 12:53Speaker 1: courted much longer and maybe I would not have married
- 12:55Speaker 1: these women. And so he wants better for his kids.
- 12:58Speaker 1: But more than that, it's the money because I don't
- 13:01Speaker 1: know how much TLC is contributing for Maddie's wedding. Maybe
- 13:07Speaker 1: they're contributing some, but I do think the Browns are
- 13:10Speaker 1: probably coming out of pocket for some or most of
- 13:13Speaker 1: that wedding. And then the idea of just two months
- 13:16Speaker 1: after that, which is what Tony and McKelty ultimately propose,
- 13:20Speaker 1: is that they get married in August, Maddie gets married
- 13:22Speaker 1: in June, like to come out of your pocket even more.
- 13:26Speaker 1: Like Cody's worried about the money. But Christine seems to
- 13:30Speaker 1: have a different concern. I think it is split between
- 13:34Speaker 1: who she knows McKelty to be and the way that
- 13:36Speaker 1: she's describing McKelty here as flighty and... naive, impulsive, impulsive, childish, childish, immature.
- 13:48Speaker 1: I'm just like Christine.
- 13:50Speaker 2: That bothered me a lot.
- 13:52Speaker 1: That bothered me too. And I'm trying to remember how
- 13:54Speaker 1: old she was when she married Cody.
- 13:56Speaker 2: Like 19 or 20.
- 13:57Speaker 1: You're still immature, Christine. So like she has, she has
- 14:01Speaker 1: a concern about McKelty. And honestly, I share some of
- 14:04Speaker 1: those concerns.
- 14:04Speaker 2: Okay.
- 14:05Speaker 1: For any woman who wants to marry somebody at 19,
- 14:08Speaker 1: I would share that concern. but there's also just something
- 14:12Speaker 1: about how she's viewing Tony here that feels like there's
- 14:16Speaker 1: an undercurrent of something else is going on. Maybe she
- 14:19Speaker 1: thinks not unlike myself, that he's a bit repulsive. Maybe
- 14:24Speaker 1: she's wondering why does he talk like that? She has
- 14:26Speaker 1: marbles in his mouth. What's going on, young man, snap
- 14:29Speaker 1: out of it. Or maybe one of these things is
- 14:32Speaker 1: not like the other. And I'll just, he's too different
- 14:36Speaker 1: from the culture of the family. And that's, that I
- 14:41Speaker 1: know a lot of people have made that because Tony
- 14:44Speaker 1: is a person of color, like maybe there was a
- 14:47Speaker 1: bit of bias against him.
- 14:51Speaker 2: I've kind of heard that about, some Mormons, I'm not
- 14:54Speaker 2: going to say all of them, but like some Mormons
- 14:56Speaker 2: can definitely be.
- 14:57Speaker 1: I think black people weren't, were considered to be satanic
- 15:01Speaker 1: until the seventies in the LDS, or they were considered
- 15:04Speaker 1: to be of the devil or demonic until the seventies.
- 15:07Speaker 1: That's modern times. Yeah.
- 15:09Speaker 2: I'm not saying all Mormons believe that. I think that
- 15:12Speaker 2: there's a lot of, you know, Mormon families and stuff
- 15:14Speaker 2: that probably believe in that kind of a thing. And,
- 15:17Speaker 2: you know, I don't know what the real reason is.
- 15:20Speaker 2: I think that there's some justification for, christine and cody
- 15:24Speaker 2: worrying about it being too fast i mean obviously like
- 15:27Speaker 2: they don't they don't know tony well enough like they
- 15:30Speaker 2: have met him they've you know probably known him at
- 15:33Speaker 2: a superficial level but they don't know him well enough
- 15:35Speaker 2: cody says something like you know it's weird that mckelty
- 15:38Speaker 2: wants to get married to him when the family hasn't
- 15:40Speaker 2: vetted him enough yet and i'm just like well she
- 15:43Speaker 2: doesn't really need anybody's permission she is a grown adult And,
- 15:47Speaker 2: you know, I know I'm jumping ahead here, but like
- 15:49Speaker 2: Robin was the voice of reason.
- 15:51Speaker 1: She actually often is.
- 15:54Speaker 2: She literally said, like, I don't understand what the big
- 15:56Speaker 2: deal is when Maddie and McKelty are literally the same
- 15:59Speaker 2: age and we're so supportive of Maddie marrying a 30-year-old man,
- 16:04Speaker 2: but we're not as supportive for McKelty marrying a 22-year-old
- 16:08Speaker 2: frumpy dumpy boy from St.
- 16:10Speaker 1: George, Utah.
- 16:11Speaker 2: Like it doesn't make sense to me. I kind of
- 16:14Speaker 2: wondered because we kind of brush over it a little bit.
- 16:18Speaker 2: Tony is an LDS Mormon. And Robin also mentions that
- 16:23Speaker 2: it's kind of a known thing for Mormons to rush
- 16:26Speaker 2: into marriages because they want to fuck. They want to
- 16:29Speaker 2: get their pencils wet. And so maybe the concern with
- 16:32Speaker 2: like Christine and Cody is like, okay, are y'all just
- 16:34Speaker 2: wanting to bang? Is that the reason why you want
- 16:37Speaker 2: to rush it? Maybe let's not do that. But again,
- 16:40Speaker 2: you raised your kids to believe in this kind of
- 16:42Speaker 2: a lifestyle and You modeled it for them, not once,
- 16:45Speaker 2: not twice, but three times. And then you also got Robin.
- 16:49Speaker 2: And I just don't understand what the big hullabaloo is.
- 16:52Speaker 2: It probably is mainly money because they're broke.
- 16:56Speaker 1: And that he's so different, I think. Although when Cody
- 16:59Speaker 1: sits down with Tony, he seems super open to him.
- 17:04Speaker 1: I thought he seemed super open to Tony. He expressed
- 17:07Speaker 1: what his concerns were. Tony.
- 17:09Speaker 1: Was I think eminently reasonable and he's going to ultimately
- 17:13Speaker 1: give him the blessing. I'm sorry, I'm jumping ahead, but
- 17:16Speaker 1: like I felt, I felt like he was very respectful.
- 17:18Speaker 1: Cody was, and I thought that he was very kind
- 17:21Speaker 1: and welcoming to Tony overall. It's Christine to me that
- 17:26Speaker 1: is the one with the problem here.
- 17:27Speaker 2: Yeah. And I think Christine primarily is the one that's
- 17:31Speaker 2: talking shit about her own daughter throughout the episode. I mean,
- 17:34Speaker 2: Cody does express things like, you know, McKelty is a
- 17:37Speaker 2: little bit immature and, you know, he says the time
- 17:41Speaker 2: in St. George was supposed to be for her to
- 17:43Speaker 2: kind of grow up a little bit because apparently McKelty
- 17:47Speaker 2: actually wanted to move up to Washington state and Cody
- 17:50Speaker 2: and Christine shot that dream down because they were like,
- 17:53Speaker 2: we don't have the money to move you up there
- 17:54Speaker 2: and then move you back. Like you fail.
- 17:57Speaker 1: You have the money to send her to Washington state
- 17:59Speaker 1: and help her with her rent for a little while.
- 18:01Speaker 2: And that's my other issue. Okay. So like they, you know,
- 18:04Speaker 2: they shot down her dream. They settled on St. George,
- 18:06Speaker 2: Utah because it was like closer and they could kind
- 18:08Speaker 2: of keep an eye on her and she could work
- 18:10Speaker 2: at the pawn shop with their family friends or whatever.
- 18:12Speaker 2: But they keep talking about money in this episode. And
- 18:14Speaker 2: I'm like, you know what? You had 1 million children.
- 18:18Speaker 2: It's kind of your responsibility to like figure out the
- 18:21Speaker 2: finances a little bit or set your kids up to
- 18:24Speaker 2: be able to be independent when they're adults. Like that's fine.
- 18:28Speaker 2: I understand not being able to pay for college for
- 18:31Speaker 2: every single one of these children I get that it's
- 18:33Speaker 2: a lot but if you're a parent and you have
- 18:36Speaker 2: five other adults in this family that are supposed to
- 18:40Speaker 2: be funding all of these children why is it such
- 18:43Speaker 2: an issue for McKelty to just like move away or
- 18:46Speaker 2: get married I don't know I just I think it's
- 18:49Speaker 2: a little.
- 18:50Speaker 1: Well to me it kind of sent up a flare
- 18:52Speaker 1: like well where is the money then how is it
- 18:54Speaker 1: being distributed around the homes like how much is Christine
- 18:58Speaker 1: getting how impossible would it truly be for Christine to
- 19:02Speaker 1: finance a wedding for McKelty? Like for me, it would have, if,
- 19:06Speaker 1: if Cody, if I was his wife and Cody was
- 19:08Speaker 1: super reticent to pay for it because we didn't have
- 19:12Speaker 1: the money, I'd be like, okay, but how much, how
- 19:14Speaker 1: much is, how much are we getting though? How much
- 19:16Speaker 1: is going into the family LLC? How much is my
- 19:18Speaker 1: house getting? How much is Robin's house getting? Like, let's
- 19:20Speaker 1: take an accounting of what is happening here. Like these
- 19:23Speaker 1: are the, years where they're paying the big bucks for
- 19:26Speaker 1: their kids exactly and we know from Mary that Mary
- 19:30Speaker 1: had to pay for Leon going to college also paid
- 19:32Speaker 1: for Leon's car I think Christine ended up well we
- 19:36Speaker 1: know she paid for Isabel's surgery out of her pocket
- 19:39Speaker 1: like Christine ended up funding her children I'm pretty sure
- 19:42Speaker 1: Janelle did the same thing I'm just not I just
- 19:44Speaker 1: don't know why you're not asking these questions like where's
- 19:47Speaker 1: the money why can't we afford it though we've been
- 19:49Speaker 1: on now for a We don't have money saved for
- 19:52Speaker 1: each kid for their, for their weddings. Yeah.
- 19:55Speaker 2: That doesn't make sense.
- 19:56Speaker 1: Even just 20 G's per kid or something. Like you
- 19:58Speaker 1: could have socked something away, right?
- 20:00Speaker 2: Seriously. Or even a portion of it, but like maybe
- 20:02Speaker 2: to your point about how the money is being dispersed.
- 20:05Speaker 2: Like if we know that all of the wives are
- 20:07Speaker 2: getting an equal share of it. So Mary gets an
- 20:10Speaker 2: equal share, even though she's got one child who doesn't
- 20:13Speaker 2: even live with her anymore. But like Christine has the
- 20:16Speaker 2: same share and Janelle has the same share. Maybe the
- 20:19Speaker 2: way they break down the finances is Cody looks at
- 20:22Speaker 2: Christine and is like, well, you have to pay for
- 20:24Speaker 2: all of Truly's hospital bill because she was in the
- 20:26Speaker 2: ER for nine days. So you're going to be stuck
- 20:28Speaker 2: with that debt, which means that we can't afford to
- 20:31Speaker 2: send McKelty to college up in Washington state, or we
- 20:35Speaker 2: can't even afford to move her up there, which wouldn't
- 20:37Speaker 2: be that expensive. Also, like I've moved around a million times.
- 20:40Speaker 2: You can do it on the cheap. But we can't
- 20:42Speaker 2: afford to do that. We're going to send McKelty to St. George.
- 20:45Speaker 2: We're also not going to let her get married too
- 20:47Speaker 2: close to Maddie because we can't afford that because we're
- 20:49Speaker 2: going to allocate a lot of money to Janelle for
- 20:52Speaker 2: Maddie's wedding. Like maybe that's how they're kind of dividing
- 20:55Speaker 2: things up. And then of course, Robin's getting a bunch
- 20:57Speaker 2: of money for her Dickensian villages and her amethyst crystals
- 21:01Speaker 2: and stuff like that. So I don't know. It just
- 21:04Speaker 2: struck me the wrong way when they were like, we
- 21:06Speaker 2: can't afford to pay for this. I'm like, well, you
- 21:08Speaker 2: had all these kids though. You can't just like pay
- 21:12Speaker 2: for this wedding for Maddie and then tell McKelty, sorry,
- 21:14Speaker 2: we're too broke to pay for your wedding. Like that's lame.
- 21:17Speaker 2: I don't know. I just think that's lame. So when
- 21:19Speaker 2: Cody ends up sitting with Tony and having this conversation,
- 21:24Speaker 2: Tony ends up coming over to Christine's house. They're going
- 21:26Speaker 2: to have dinner. The vibe is off.
- 21:28Speaker 1: Kind of weird.
- 21:29Speaker 2: It's pretty tense and weird. Christine has kind of a
- 21:32Speaker 2: judgy face on her. She's not really happy to be there.
- 21:35Speaker 2: She says something to the camera like, I wish I
- 21:38Speaker 2: could have been more supportive and happy for McKelty, but
- 21:41Speaker 2: the truth is I'm not. And I'm not going to be.
- 21:44Speaker 2: I'm not supportive of this marriage. I'm not happy for McKelty.
- 21:48Speaker 2: I'm just not.
- 21:49Speaker 1: Well, she also says that she wishes that she could
- 21:52Speaker 1: have done things a little differently in Hawaii when McKelty
- 21:54Speaker 1: came to her to tell her about her impending nuptials
- 21:58Speaker 1: to Tony. She's like, I wish I could have said
- 22:00Speaker 1: some of the things that I know McKelty would have
- 22:02Speaker 1: liked to hear. And I'm like, that's a good impulse.
- 22:05Speaker 1: That's a good motherly instinct. But why are you again
- 22:08Speaker 1: on camera dragging your child? Why are you doing it again?
- 22:12Speaker 2: The whole episode. It's crazy how much they disparage McKelty.
- 22:16Speaker 2: I'm just like, there could have been a way where
- 22:19Speaker 2: you could have maybe said a few little things like,
- 22:21Speaker 2: you know, we're just worried about her maturity level or something.
- 22:24Speaker 2: And we're worried about them being too young. Like that's
- 22:26Speaker 2: fair and valid. Those are all parental worries to have,
- 22:30Speaker 2: but like over and over again, they're like shitting on
- 22:32Speaker 2: McKelty and her personality and how she doesn't think things through.
- 22:35Speaker 2: And she's too spontaneous.
- 22:37Speaker 1: It was really crushing too, because when we get to
- 22:39Speaker 1: this scene where Tony and McKelty are talking to Cody
- 22:42Speaker 1: and Chris, Christine, McKelty is trying to do everything right.
- 22:47Speaker 1: She's coming to her father for the blessing. And it,
- 22:51Speaker 1: feels like if Cody withholds the blessing, they're not going
- 22:54Speaker 1: to do it. Like they're going to honor and respect
- 22:56Speaker 1: that and follow Cody's terms. Like I could have never
- 22:59Speaker 1: done that at 18 years old. I was out popping
- 23:01Speaker 1: my pussy, doing my own thing, getting married at 18.
- 23:03Speaker 1: I was doing whatever the if I wanted to do.
- 23:05Speaker 1: But McKelty's really trying to honor her mother and father.
- 23:08Speaker 1: And still you've got sniping Christine behind the scenes talking
- 23:11Speaker 1: all of this crap about her. Anyway, it made me
- 23:13Speaker 1: feel bad. Back to Cody and Tony on that small
- 23:18Speaker 1: little sofa in Christine's bedroom where they're facing each other
- 23:23Speaker 1: with their beer bellies out. Like two sumotori wrestlers.
- 23:27Speaker 2: I thought Cody had a six pack that Janelle was
- 23:29Speaker 2: so obsessed with. I don't see it. Maybe a six
- 23:33Speaker 2: pack of beer.
- 23:34Speaker 1: And he's wearing these tight little jeans, which is pronouncing
- 23:37Speaker 1: the bulbous aspect of his belly. I'm like, Cody, you
- 23:41Speaker 1: don't see yourself the way that I do.
- 23:44Speaker 2: I know it's crazy.
- 23:45Speaker 1: And he's wearing these like, slippers as we call them
- 23:47Speaker 1: in Hawaii or um flip-flops yeah you can see it's
- 23:50Speaker 1: his new stylish choice I can't do it it's really
- 23:53Speaker 1: bad is like flopping around and.
- 23:55Speaker 2: It's all like frizzy and burnt he's in his surfer
- 23:58Speaker 2: era it's totally a surfer era I don't get it
- 24:02Speaker 2: surfer in Las Vegas of all places and you're right
- 24:05Speaker 2: Cody is trying to be gracious to Tony in this
- 24:08Speaker 2: conversation like he's willing to hear him out which I
- 24:11Speaker 2: do oddly enough respect like I'm glad that at least
- 24:15Speaker 2: even though Christine is worried as fuck and she's not
- 24:17Speaker 2: supportive of it. I think Cody, maybe it's for the cameras.
- 24:21Speaker 2: I don't know. Cody is trying to just be like, okay,
- 24:25Speaker 2: I may not approve of it, but like my daughter's 19. Okay.
- 24:30Speaker 2: She's an adult. Like we're just going to hear this out. And, uh,
- 24:34Speaker 2: Tony does introduce the conversation pretty well. He's like, I
- 24:37Speaker 2: really love McKelty. I would love to marry her. I'm
- 24:39Speaker 2: just asking for your blessing. Um, And Cody gives his
- 24:44Speaker 2: opinions about it a little bit. He's like, I know
- 24:46Speaker 2: you're LDS. I know you're kind of doing this Mormon
- 24:49Speaker 2: style and we're kind of rushing it a little bit.
- 24:52Speaker 2: I do have some stipulations. If you are willing to
- 24:55Speaker 2: hear me out and Tony is willing to hear him out.
- 24:57Speaker 2: One of the biggest stipulations for Cody is that I
- 25:01Speaker 2: don't want you to take my daughter away and my
- 25:04Speaker 2: future grandchildren away just because we're polygamous. Like I know
- 25:07Speaker 2: you're LDS. the LDS church doesn't approve of polygamy. Like,
- 25:11Speaker 2: please don't denounce me and my family and don't keep
- 25:14Speaker 2: my daughter away from me and my grandchildren away from me.
- 25:17Speaker 1: And also raise your grandchildren to be open to polygamy.
- 25:20Speaker 2: Exactly. Just allow them to be able to make their choice, basically.
- 25:24Speaker 2: He's not saying that they need to live polygamy, but
- 25:27Speaker 2: just allow them that openness. And Tony does agree to it.
- 25:31Speaker 2: He's like, I completely understand your concerns and whatnot. There
- 25:36Speaker 2: was something else. Oh, Cody does say, you know, are
- 25:39Speaker 2: you going to be okay with not having a temple marriage?
- 25:43Speaker 2: Because Tony is LDS Mormon, the LDS church not only
- 25:47Speaker 2: rejected Maddie for the fact that her family is polygamist,
- 25:50Speaker 2: but they did reject McKelty for the same reason. So
- 25:54Speaker 2: because they rejected McKelty, Tony and McKelty can't get married
- 25:58Speaker 2: in the Mormon temple. And And Cody asks him if
- 26:01Speaker 2: he's going to be okay with that. And Tony's like, well,
- 26:04Speaker 2: you know, I would really love to get a temple marriage,
- 26:06Speaker 2: but at the same time, like I'm fine to wait
- 26:08Speaker 2: because maybe the LDS church will change their minds in
- 26:11Speaker 2: the future or something. And we can have a temple marriage,
- 26:15Speaker 2: which I thought was kind of an odd answer.
- 26:18Speaker 1: Well, he's hoping that at some point when the show
- 26:20Speaker 1: is no longer a thing, maybe they can try again
- 26:22Speaker 1: to have McKelty convert. It just makes me so mad.
- 26:27Speaker 1: It just makes me think of Jesus on the cross
- 26:30Speaker 1: and the thief on the cross, the thief who he
- 26:33Speaker 1: tells in this day, you will join me in paradise.
- 26:36Speaker 1: Like that thief wasn't baptized. That thief didn't go through
- 26:40Speaker 1: some sort of temple initiation or anything else. That thief
- 26:43Speaker 1: was just loved and accepted into the kingdom of heaven.
- 26:46Speaker 1: but Mormons, you can't let McKelty in.
- 26:49Speaker 2: It's crazy.
- 26:49Speaker 1: She's marrying an LDS and she wants to be a Mormon. Like,
- 26:53Speaker 1: I don't understand that, but like churches be wilding. It's
- 26:56Speaker 1: very much a, you can't sit with us kind of
- 26:58Speaker 1: a mentality. And I'm just like, okay, but I thought
- 27:01Speaker 1: we're all believing in the same God, but okay, whatever.
- 27:04Speaker 1: That's naive.
- 27:05Speaker 2: I guess, I guess so. And so Tony is just
- 27:09Speaker 2: in love with McKelty and ultimately I think he just
- 27:12Speaker 2: wants to fuck.
- 27:12Speaker 1: So I think- Ew, do you think they're soaking?
- 27:14Speaker 2: I don't know. I was kind of wondering that because
- 27:17Speaker 2: they're kind of close to each other a little bit
- 27:19Speaker 2: for like this courtship that's supposed to be very chaste.
- 27:21Speaker 2: I'm just like, maybe you guys are soaking. Maybe you
- 27:24Speaker 2: all are touching each other. But at the same time,
- 27:26Speaker 2: Tony seems like he's trying to be a good Mormon boy.
- 27:29Speaker 2: And he does give off very virgin energy.
- 27:33Speaker 1: He does. He does give off virgin energy.
- 27:35Speaker 2: So maybe they haven't touched each other yet. And that's
- 27:37Speaker 2: maybe why they want to rush this courtship a bit.
- 27:41Speaker 2: And Cody brings up that In his next point, he's like,
- 27:44Speaker 2: you know, I would really love it if you could
- 27:46Speaker 2: like wait a little bit longer. Like this is pretty
- 27:49Speaker 2: fast and this is very Mormon style. And Cody offers
- 27:52Speaker 2: the alternative of like, can you wait like maybe 10 months,
- 27:55Speaker 2: maybe a year? Like I'm not asking you to wait
- 27:57Speaker 2: a long time, but just like a little bit longer.
- 28:00Speaker 2: And Tony doesn't say yes right away. He says, I'll
- 28:03Speaker 2: talk to McKelty about it because we want to fuck ultimately.
- 28:06Speaker 1: And... We have a timetable.
- 28:09Speaker 2: We have a timetable. And Tony does bring up in
- 28:11Speaker 2: this conversation they want to get married in August, which
- 28:13Speaker 2: I do think is ridiculous. Yes. Like, on its face.
- 28:17Speaker 1: Tone deaf and definitely would steal Maddie's thunder. Whether that's
- 28:21Speaker 1: the intention or not, I can't say, but it's a
- 28:24Speaker 1: booty thing to do.
- 28:25Speaker 2: And I think that it's a difficult situation because... you
- 28:28Speaker 2: do have this family that is so large and you
- 28:31Speaker 2: have so many kids that are in their adult prime
- 28:33Speaker 2: years right now at the same time. And you have Logan,
- 28:36Speaker 2: who's also in like a long-term relationship. And, you know,
- 28:39Speaker 2: he might not be thinking about marriage at this very moment,
- 28:42Speaker 2: but like what I'm trying to say is all of
- 28:44Speaker 2: these kids are in relationships. They're going to want to
- 28:47Speaker 2: get married. It kind of sucks that they can't really
- 28:50Speaker 2: get married close to each other because you don't want
- 28:53Speaker 2: to steal the other kids' thunder and stuff like that.
- 28:56Speaker 2: So again, From that perspective, you know, it sucks that
- 29:00Speaker 2: McKelty and Tony are being told to wait. But at
- 29:02Speaker 2: the same time, I'm like.
- 29:03Speaker 1: It's not your money.
- 29:04Speaker 2: No.
- 29:05Speaker 1: To me, it's not your money. If I were Cody,
- 29:06Speaker 1: I would have just said, look, if you want us
- 29:08Speaker 1: to contribute to your wedding, you're going to have to
- 29:10Speaker 1: wait at least one year. If you guys want to
- 29:12Speaker 1: do it yourself and YOLO it and ELOPE, then go
- 29:14Speaker 1: ahead and do that. But we can't contribute anything monetarily.
- 29:17Speaker 2: Then fine.
- 29:17Speaker 1: It is up to you. It is your choice.
- 29:19Speaker 2: Exactly.
- 29:19Speaker 1: It's not a rejection. It is an option.
- 29:21Speaker 2: Right. And Cody... does say in his talking head a
- 29:24Speaker 2: couple times he's like I really don't want to push
- 29:26Speaker 2: them too much here like I don't want to restrict
- 29:29Speaker 2: them by giving them all of these like stipulations or
- 29:32Speaker 2: these rules that they have to abide by or whatever
- 29:34Speaker 2: because he doesn't want them to just go run off
- 29:37Speaker 2: and get eloped without including everybody he wants to be included,
- 29:40Speaker 2: but he also wants to give his parental opinion. And
- 29:43Speaker 2: he's also totally hinting at the fact that like, yeah,
- 29:46Speaker 2: we're not going to pay for a wedding in August
- 29:48Speaker 2: after just paying for one in June, bitch. But Tony's
- 29:52Speaker 2: not really happy about it. McKelty's not really happy about
- 29:54Speaker 2: it either because she really wants an August wedding. And
- 29:56Speaker 2: this is where we get the scene with Tony and
- 29:59Speaker 2: McKelty on the couch where he says, if finances are
- 30:02Speaker 2: the only issue, then why don't you just take out
- 30:04Speaker 2: a loan.
- 30:05Speaker 1: Against your house?
- 30:07Speaker 2: Why don't you just take out a home equity loan?
- 30:10Speaker 2: It's fine.
- 30:10Speaker 1: It's a thing. Do they know that?
- 30:12Speaker 2: Yes.
- 30:13Speaker 1: You 22 year old idiot. Of course they know that.
- 30:16Speaker 2: That is crazy. Could you imagine if I came into
- 30:19Speaker 2: your family? And I was like, yeah, I'm going to
- 30:21Speaker 2: marry your daughter and I want you to pay for
- 30:22Speaker 2: it and I want you to take out a home
- 30:24Speaker 2: equity loan.
- 30:25Speaker 1: Not me. Can you imagine my husband?
- 30:27Speaker 2: Oh, my God. He would have been so fucking mad.
- 30:29Speaker 2: He would have been like, get the fuck out.
- 30:32Speaker 1: He would have absolutely been like, no.
- 30:34Speaker 2: Oh, my God.
- 30:35Speaker 1: It is not going to happen.
- 30:36Speaker 2: I just can't imagine being a kid asking your parents.
- 30:41Speaker 2: girlfriends parents that like that's just like so wild to
- 30:44Speaker 2: me well it.
- 30:44Speaker 1: Is like an old-fashioned tradition that the family of the
- 30:48Speaker 1: bride is the one that foots the bill for the
- 30:51Speaker 1: entire thing that's crazy to me too it's very nuts
- 30:54Speaker 1: and if my daughter had been heterosexical and married a
- 30:59Speaker 1: boy i'd have been you're on your own honey i'm
- 31:01Speaker 1: not paying for your whole shindig and stuff like i'll
- 31:04Speaker 1: help you buy your dress or something maybe i'll buy
- 31:06Speaker 1: the cake but like if you guys want to spend
- 31:08Speaker 1: that kind of money. See, I personally, my own value
- 31:11Speaker 1: is I would never spend a ton of money on
- 31:13Speaker 1: a wedding. And, but if you want to go ahead,
- 31:15Speaker 1: but you're going to have to fund that yourself.
- 31:17Speaker 2: Literally, my parents always said the same thing to me.
- 31:19Speaker 2: They're like, if you ever grow up and marry a
- 31:21Speaker 2: man or whatever, and you want a traditional marriage, you're
- 31:24Speaker 2: paying for it. And I'm like, yeah, okay. And I've
- 31:27Speaker 2: also never been the kind of person that's like, I'm
- 31:29Speaker 2: going to spend $ 50, 000 on a wedding.
- 31:30Speaker 1: It's going to be the wedding of the century.
- 31:33Speaker 2: Like why? Who cares? I literally don't care.
- 31:36Speaker 1: If I could have gotten married in front of Elvis
- 31:39Speaker 1: in Vegas, I would have done that too.
- 31:40Speaker 2: I mean, right? Yes.
- 31:42Speaker 1: That's me though. That's just me. I know a lot
- 31:43Speaker 1: of you probably had a beautiful wedding.
- 31:45Speaker 2: And that's awesome.
- 31:46Speaker 1: Probably cost a lot, but I'm just, I'm just not
- 31:48Speaker 1: of that mind personally.
- 31:50Speaker 2: My great uncle and my great aunt got married on
- 31:52Speaker 2: April Fool's Day to an Elvis impersonator in Vegas. And
- 31:56Speaker 2: they like love that. I just think like little kooky
- 31:59Speaker 2: weddings and stuff like that are fun or like elopements
- 32:01Speaker 2: are great. I don't know. I just, whatever. Tony and
- 32:04Speaker 2: McKelty want a big wedding. They want their parents to
- 32:06Speaker 2: pay for it. And they want it in August. And
- 32:08Speaker 2: that's just the point of this episode. And it's crazy
- 32:11Speaker 2: to me. I get that they want to get married.
- 32:14Speaker 2: They want to fuck. They want to rush into it.
- 32:15Speaker 1: And that's fine.
- 32:16Speaker 2: Then do it.
- 32:16Speaker 1: But why do I have to pay for it?
- 32:17Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm not going to pay for it. And we're
- 32:19Speaker 2: not going to do it two months after Maddie's wedding either. Like,
- 32:21Speaker 2: that's crazy.
- 32:22Speaker 1: Get a grip.
- 32:23Speaker 2: That's crazy to me. And so after the conversation with
- 32:27Speaker 2: Tony and Cody, then we joined together with Christine and McKelty.
- 32:31Speaker 2: And we discuss that conversation a little bit. And Cody
- 32:35Speaker 2: straight up tells Christine, like, yeah, I'm going to give
- 32:37Speaker 2: him my blessing. It's fine.
- 32:38Speaker 1: And she's shocked.
- 32:39Speaker 2: And she's super shocked.
- 32:40Speaker 1: It does feel like they talked about it beforehand. And
- 32:43Speaker 1: we did see them talk, but they talked further. And
- 32:45Speaker 1: they both agreed that this is not something that they want.
- 32:48Speaker 1: But then as soon as Cody sat down with Tony,
- 32:51Speaker 1: he changed his mind. And he gave them the blessing.
- 32:53Speaker 1: And so she's very surprised. And she seems a bit
- 32:56Speaker 1: disappointed because she doesn't have an ally sitting next to
- 32:58Speaker 1: her to help Mikhail T., think straight about this.
- 33:02Speaker 2: And i think she really just wanted him to say
- 33:04Speaker 2: no so she didn't have to be the bad guy
- 33:06Speaker 2: but i'm like christine you're being the bad guy this
- 33:08Speaker 2: whole episode like talking shit about your daughter and how
- 33:11Speaker 2: you just don't trust that this is going to work
- 33:13Speaker 2: out for her basically she's.
- 33:15Speaker 1: No shrinking violet though like to tony's face she says
- 33:18Speaker 1: yeah i have some reservations about you i'm not fully
- 33:21Speaker 1: sold on you yet yeah i need to see more
- 33:23Speaker 1: from you like i would never have been able to
- 33:25Speaker 1: say that to you oh my god i mean that's
- 33:27Speaker 1: just i'm like okay there's the aries there's the ram
- 33:31Speaker 1: In Christine.
- 33:33Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah. It's pretty harsh. I was like, dang, okay. Like,
- 33:36Speaker 2: but we're fine with Caleb Brush because even though he's
- 33:40Speaker 2: 30 and was talking to Maddie when she was 17, allegedly,
- 33:44Speaker 2: or 16, allegedly, he's fine because he was a family friend. Right.
- 33:49Speaker 2: And that's okay. And I just think that's wild.
- 33:52Speaker 1: Make it make sense.
- 33:53Speaker 2: It doesn't make sense at all to me. And maybe
- 33:56Speaker 2: you're right. Maybe there is some alternative reasons why Christine
- 33:59Speaker 2: is so judgmental. And maybe it has to do with
- 34:03Speaker 2: Tony's background, his ethnic background or whatever. I don't know.
- 34:07Speaker 2: It just, it's so weird to me. Agreed. I think
- 34:10Speaker 2: that he's repulsive and gross too. And I think he's
- 34:13Speaker 2: kind of a loser. It could just be that.
- 34:15Speaker 1: It could just be that.
- 34:16Speaker 2: But if your daughter loves him, who are you to say?
- 34:19Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 34:20Speaker 2: You married Cody Brown also.
- 34:21Speaker 1: If there's something to say, Christine's going to be the
- 34:23Speaker 1: one to say it with her big old mouth.
- 34:25Speaker 2: I guess so. And so when they're talking with Tony
- 34:29Speaker 2: and McKelty, McKelty... No, I think Cody and Christine tell them, like,
- 34:35Speaker 2: can you wait a little bit? Like, we're not asking you...
- 34:37Speaker 2: to wait forever we're not asking you to wait five
- 34:40Speaker 2: years but like can you wait until december instead just
- 34:43Speaker 2: so that way maddie has some time to enjoy her
- 34:46Speaker 2: wedding and like the after glow of her wedding like
- 34:49Speaker 2: we want to give maddie her space and her time
- 34:51Speaker 2: and her speed so can you wait till december mckeulty's
- 34:54Speaker 2: like no because he's like um i want to get
- 35:01Speaker 2: married at a park And it's going to be way
- 35:03Speaker 2: too cold in Las Vegas, Nevada for us to get
- 35:06Speaker 2: married in a park in December. It's not going to
- 35:09Speaker 2: work for my vision.
- 35:10Speaker 1: Well, what about our backyard?
- 35:12Speaker 2: Which I thought was crazy too.
- 35:14Speaker 1: Would a backyard wedding be okay?
- 35:16Speaker 2: But I'm like, Christine, what backyard? Your backyard went to
- 35:19Speaker 2: concrete slab. It's a moonscape. You want her to get
- 35:22Speaker 2: married in that backyard? Like it's not like we're going
- 35:25Speaker 2: to get married in Robin's backyard. Christine's offering hers. That's crazy.
- 35:30Speaker 2: And McKelty's just like not into it. And I think
- 35:33Speaker 2: they kind of end the conversation like leaving it hanging
- 35:37Speaker 2: a little bit because Cody and Christine are like, well,
- 35:40Speaker 2: we give you our blessing, but like, can you please
- 35:42Speaker 2: wait a little, just a little, please, just a couple months.
- 35:46Speaker 2: It would be really great if you could do that.
- 35:48Speaker 2: And McKelty and Tony are like, we'll think about it.
- 35:51Speaker 1: I just can't. I don't get it.
- 35:54Speaker 2: It's so entitled to me.
- 35:55Speaker 1: It is so very entitled to me.
- 35:57Speaker 2: Like, I know I'm kind of erring on the side
- 35:59Speaker 2: of Tony McKelty a little bit in this episode. I'm like,
- 36:01Speaker 2: you know, I know they want to get married, but
- 36:03Speaker 2: also y'all are spoiled.
- 36:06Speaker 1: It's that Gen Z thing.
- 36:07Speaker 2: Are they Gen Z? I think they're millennial. Because they're
- 36:10Speaker 2: older than me.
- 36:10Speaker 1: I don't think they're older than you.
- 36:11Speaker 2: Yeah, they're older than me.
- 36:13Speaker 1: Are they older than you?
- 36:13Speaker 2: Because this is like 2016 and they're 19 and 22.
- 36:17Speaker 1: So that means they would be 32.
- 36:20Speaker 2: Maybe they are my age.
- 36:21Speaker 1: Maybe she's your age. Anyway, Gen Z. Millennials.
- 36:24Speaker 2: Millennials.
- 36:25Speaker 1: I'm just making trouble to you. I know you are.
- 36:27Speaker 2: Always got to shit on the younger generations.
- 36:28Speaker 1: You always call me a boomer and I'm not a boomer.
- 36:30Speaker 2: You call yourself a boomer.
- 36:32Speaker 1: Because I've been entrained by you from the constant insults.
- 36:37Speaker 1: calling me a boomer don't associate me with that greedy
- 36:41Speaker 1: materialistic soulless generation thank you very much.
- 36:44Speaker 2: I would never i did call your husband a crotchety
- 36:46Speaker 2: old man when i came i'm such a nice.
- 36:50Speaker 1: Daughter-in-law he's literally younger than me by a damn sight
- 36:53Speaker 1: so what are you saying anyway moving on.
- 36:56Speaker 2: Anyway moving on so then after this conversation with tony
- 36:59Speaker 2: mckeulty cody and christine want to talk to their friends
- 37:03Speaker 2: chris and don who own the pawn shop that mckeulty
- 37:06Speaker 2: works at In St. George. And they just want to
- 37:10Speaker 2: get some insight because they don't know what to do
- 37:13Speaker 2: as parents in this situation. They're like freaking out. And
- 37:15Speaker 2: it's mainly Christine who's freaking out. So they talk to
- 37:18Speaker 2: Chris and Dawn about it. And Chris and Dawn are like, yeah,
- 37:21Speaker 2: you know, we hardly ever see McKelty. We thought she
- 37:23Speaker 2: would hang out with us and come over for dinners
- 37:26Speaker 2: and stuff. But she's nowhere to be seen. She's out
- 37:28Speaker 2: soaking with her friends. Yes. They literally say she's like
- 37:34Speaker 2: dating around. And Christine and Cody are surprised to hear
- 37:37Speaker 2: that because... she's not dating around. She's just dating Tony.
- 37:41Speaker 2: And it kind of, there's the implication there that maybe
- 37:43Speaker 2: she should date around and find maybe some more attractive.
- 37:47Speaker 1: Anybody better? Is there anybody better in St.
- 37:49Speaker 2: George, Utah? Anyone better besides Tony Patron? And Cody and
- 37:54Speaker 2: Christine tell Chris and Don that they want to get married.
- 37:58Speaker 2: Chris and Don agree that it's fast, but also like
- 38:00Speaker 2: they're saying, let them live their truth, bro. Yeah. Leave
- 38:05Speaker 2: them be. Like they're just young kids in love.
- 38:07Speaker 1: They're not going to listen to you anyway.
- 38:09Speaker 2: Exactly.
- 38:10Speaker 1: And Cody's like, no, they need time to negotiate the
- 38:13Speaker 1: marriage contract. And his friend is like, that sounds so romantic, Cody.
- 38:18Speaker 2: Totally romantic.
- 38:18Speaker 1: They're not thinking like that. They're thinking like a couple
- 38:21Speaker 1: of kids who want to get married.
- 38:23Speaker 2: And this is where Cody makes some dumb comment about
- 38:25Speaker 2: how he's got cumulatively 80 years of marriage experience with
- 38:29Speaker 2: all of his wives. And so he really knows what
- 38:31Speaker 2: he's talking about.
- 38:32Speaker 1: I would appreciate if somebody listened to me.
- 38:34Speaker 2: With my 80 years of marriage experience. And he does say, again,
- 38:39Speaker 2: very poignantly, that he regrets rushing into his marriages with
- 38:44Speaker 2: his wives because, you know, they had to get to
- 38:46Speaker 2: know each other.
- 38:47Speaker 1: Except Robin. After the fact.
- 38:49Speaker 2: And a longer courtship would have been better, similar to
- 38:52Speaker 2: my courtship with Robin. I mean, he doesn't say that,
- 38:54Speaker 2: but that's definitely the subtext there. And Chris and Dawn
- 38:58Speaker 2: are like, Yeah, but we got married pretty quickly. And,
- 39:02Speaker 2: you know, there's something really beautiful about getting married young.
- 39:05Speaker 2: You know, you can kind of cement your love together
- 39:08Speaker 2: and kind of grow from that foundation. And maybe you
- 39:10Speaker 2: just got to give them a chance. And I kind
- 39:12Speaker 2: of liked that. Me too. Because they are kind of
- 39:14Speaker 2: just giving the counterpoint to Cody and Christine who are
- 39:17Speaker 2: freaking out about this rushed marriage. And maybe it's because
- 39:21Speaker 2: they're reflecting on their shitty ass marriage. Because they got
- 39:24Speaker 2: married after like three months and Cody's repulsed by Christine
- 39:27Speaker 2: and Christine is unhappy.
- 39:28Speaker 1: He is repulsed by her because... can I just say
- 39:31Speaker 1: this and just interject? Because when she first calls him
- 39:33Speaker 1: over to talk about Tony wanting to talk to him,
- 39:37Speaker 1: he looks so uncomfortable in her bedroom. They sit on
- 39:40Speaker 1: this little sofa together and she's got her legs up
- 39:44Speaker 1: and she's turned to him and she seems like she's
- 39:46Speaker 1: kind of being a little flirty and playful and he's
- 39:49Speaker 1: just like talk to the hand and then when both
- 39:53Speaker 1: of them walk into the little library to talk to
- 39:55Speaker 1: McKelty and Tony did you see Christine reach over and
- 39:59Speaker 1: try to hold his hand did you see that yeah
- 40:01Speaker 1: and he didn't hold her hand and then she just
- 40:03Speaker 1: put her hand right back in her lap. Like he
- 40:06Speaker 1: is disgusted with Christine. And 100%. I think he was
- 40:09Speaker 1: expecting these two St. George friends to come over and
- 40:13Speaker 1: agree totally with them so that they could have a
- 40:15Speaker 1: special segment where it's not just us. Everybody agrees. McKelty
- 40:18Speaker 1: shouldn't be getting married. And they were very shocked and chagrined.
- 40:22Speaker 1: It seemed that these two disagreed.
- 40:25Speaker 2: And I really think it's because Christine and Cody like
- 40:28Speaker 2: have been having so many marital issues that, And I
- 40:31Speaker 2: think they're attributing it to the fact that they got
- 40:33Speaker 2: married so young and they didn't get to know each other.
- 40:35Speaker 2: And that's all fair and valid. But just because your
- 40:37Speaker 2: guys' marriage is a failure, just because you guys got
- 40:41Speaker 2: married and you hate each other, doesn't mean that your
- 40:45Speaker 2: kids who are also rushing into their marriage is going
- 40:47Speaker 2: to hate. They're going to hate their marriage and they're
- 40:49Speaker 2: going to hate their lives together. Like it's not the
- 40:51Speaker 2: same thing. I kind of felt that personally because when
- 40:55Speaker 2: I got married to your daughter, I had a lot
- 40:56Speaker 2: of people... tell me that I was like making a
- 40:59Speaker 2: mistake because we totally rushed into it in true lesbian fashion.
- 41:02Speaker 2: And we got married really young, even though a lot
- 41:05Speaker 2: of people told us not to. And, you know, while
- 41:08Speaker 2: it hasn't been free from challenges, like I'm very grateful
- 41:12Speaker 2: for my marriage to your daughter. I love her very much.
- 41:14Speaker 2: And like, we've grown up together. And like, I think
- 41:17Speaker 2: that we have something really special and valuable. And I
- 41:20Speaker 2: just wish that like people wouldn't be so quick to
- 41:24Speaker 2: shit on rushed marriages like that. Like if a kid
- 41:27Speaker 2: wants to get married young, like let them just do it.
- 41:30Speaker 2: If they're gonna make the mistake, they're gonna make the
- 41:31Speaker 2: mistake themselves.
- 41:32Speaker 1: Yeah, but at the same time, Beatrice, I'm sure that
- 41:34Speaker 1: a lot of people who were telling you to just
- 41:36Speaker 1: wait were coming from a very good place and also
- 41:38Speaker 1: from their own experience. And they're just trying to help.
- 41:41Speaker 1: They really are just trying to lend you some advice
- 41:44Speaker 1: that might be helpful to you so that you can
- 41:46Speaker 1: make a more full body decision. But like what we
- 41:48Speaker 1: always forget at this age, looking at people at your
- 41:52Speaker 1: age is like, you don't listen to us. kids aren't
- 41:54Speaker 1: going to listen to us. You're going to go forward
- 41:57Speaker 1: and make your own mistakes, which you talked about last week.
- 41:59Speaker 1: And we really, all we can do is say what
- 42:01Speaker 1: we think and then let it go and not keep
- 42:03Speaker 1: pestering you about it.
- 42:05Speaker 2: And totally the people that came to me were saying
- 42:08Speaker 2: the same kinds of things, same sentiments that Cody and
- 42:10Speaker 2: Christine are saying. We're like, you know, we rushed into
- 42:13Speaker 2: it and it's hard and we hated our lives and
- 42:16Speaker 2: our marriage sucks basically. And I get it. But I
- 42:20Speaker 2: just feel like back off a little. And Chris and Dawn,
- 42:23Speaker 2: I did appreciate that they offered the alternative perspective of like,
- 42:26Speaker 2: it's not that bad though. Like not every young marriage
- 42:29Speaker 2: is going to end up into a failure. So just
- 42:32Speaker 2: chill out. Just because y'all hate each other doesn't mean
- 42:34Speaker 2: they're going to. And so then Cody and Christine summon
- 42:38Speaker 2: the other wives over to their house to break the news.
- 42:41Speaker 2: And Christine in particular is very worried about telling Janelle
- 42:45Speaker 2: because she doesn't want Janelle to be frustrated. She doesn't
- 42:47Speaker 2: want Janelle to be stressed out. And she doesn't want
- 42:50Speaker 2: Janelle to feel like McKelty is stealing Maddie's thunder because
- 42:54Speaker 2: she knows that that's how Janelle is going to feel.
- 42:56Speaker 1: Of course.
- 42:57Speaker 2: And sure enough, that is kind of how Janelle feels.
- 43:00Speaker 2: So when Christine breaks the news to everybody, Christine's like, look,
- 43:04Speaker 2: I'm not supportive of this at all. I don't want
- 43:07Speaker 2: her to marry Tony. I think it's rushed. I'm very
- 43:11Speaker 2: worried about it. I'm very stressed out about it. We
- 43:13Speaker 2: tried to tell them to slow down. We tried to
- 43:15Speaker 2: tell them to wait a few months and they're not
- 43:18Speaker 2: really into it. And Janelle is just shocked. She has
- 43:22Speaker 2: no words at this point in time. She's like, what
- 43:24Speaker 2: the fuck? I think she's kind of keeping her Torian
- 43:26Speaker 2: rage buried down a little bit because I think deep
- 43:30Speaker 2: down she's probably mad because she does want Maddie to
- 43:33Speaker 2: have her time. Mary, interestingly enough, is the one that
- 43:37Speaker 2: is saying to the camera, like, I feel really bad
- 43:39Speaker 2: that the energy of this room and the energy of
- 43:42Speaker 2: this conversation is so drastically different. than the energy that
- 43:46Speaker 2: we had with Maddie when she told us that she
- 43:49Speaker 2: wanted to get married to a 30-year-old man and everybody
- 43:52Speaker 2: was super supportive of her. And I thought that was
- 43:55Speaker 2: interesting that it came from Mary, of all people, because
- 43:57Speaker 2: I thought Mary didn't like McKelty.
- 43:59Speaker 1: Well, she also said some things about McKelty at the
- 44:03Speaker 1: same time in her interstitial about how McKelty was immature
- 44:07Speaker 1: and And she was impulsive and she just didn't really
- 44:10Speaker 1: know if this was the right thing for her, but
- 44:12Speaker 1: you can't really tell her anything. So there were also
- 44:14Speaker 1: some digs that she took at McKelty. But yeah, I
- 44:17Speaker 1: was surprised that she said that. And then of course, again,
- 44:19Speaker 1: we have Robin with the voice of reason. Like, I
- 44:21Speaker 1: don't know why people are so concerned about this. You know,
- 44:24Speaker 1: Maddie is the very same age. And actually that was
- 44:26Speaker 1: an epiphany to me. I think I knew that in
- 44:29Speaker 1: the back of my mind, but when you think about it,
- 44:31Speaker 1: they really do present so differently, Maddie and McKelty. McKelty
- 44:35Speaker 1: really is much more of a childlike, not childish, but
- 44:39Speaker 1: a childlike personality, much more open and free with a
- 44:43Speaker 1: zest for life. Maddie's a bit more guarded, like Janelle actually.
- 44:46Speaker 2: Yeah, very serious.
- 44:47Speaker 1: More guarded, more closed off, more methodical and thoughtful in
- 44:50Speaker 1: the way that she proceeds in her life. I would
- 44:52Speaker 1: have thought that Maddie was at least a couple of
- 44:54Speaker 1: years older, but they're the same age.
- 44:57Speaker 2: And the family does say that, like multiple members of
- 44:59Speaker 2: the family say you know, even though they are the
- 45:02Speaker 2: same age, Maddie has always seemed like the older sibling
- 45:06Speaker 2: of the two and has always seemed way more mature.
- 45:09Speaker 2: So therefore it's okay for her to marry a 30
- 45:11Speaker 2: year old man. Whereas McKelty rushing into this marriage with
- 45:14Speaker 2: Too Many Tacos Tony is a cry for concern or
- 45:18Speaker 2: like a cause for concern. And I just really don't
- 45:20Speaker 2: like the disparity with it because even though McKelty is
- 45:25Speaker 2: immature I think Maddie would be immature too like I
- 45:28Speaker 2: don't I know we're like acting like Maddie's older than
- 45:31Speaker 2: McKelty but she is 19 also and I think I
- 45:34Speaker 2: feel like she's probably got some immature moments that maybe
- 45:36Speaker 2: we're not seeing well.
- 45:38Speaker 1: And in the year of our Lord 2026 would Maddie
- 45:40Speaker 1: be okay with one of her kids or her daughter
- 45:43Speaker 1: does she have two daughters or two I think two
- 45:45Speaker 1: sons I forget one of her daughters marrying a 30
- 45:49Speaker 1: or almost 30 year old when she was 18 or
- 45:51Speaker 1: 19 or meeting a A 28-year-old when she's 16 or
- 45:56Speaker 1: 17 and talking to them and falling in love. I
- 45:58Speaker 1: bet Maddie would not feel the same way.
- 46:00Speaker 2: Exactly. But....
- 46:03Speaker 1: But then again, they have a great marriage. They're still together.
- 46:05Speaker 1: They have a great life. But like, it just, yeah,
- 46:07Speaker 1: it's just unfair. It is a double standard.
- 46:09Speaker 2: It totally is. And so, you know, they all discuss it.
- 46:13Speaker 2: Janelle says, you know, I would really like for them
- 46:15Speaker 2: to wait a little bit just to give Maddie some
- 46:18Speaker 2: time with her wedding. And that's completely fair and valid.
- 46:21Speaker 2: Of course. You know, Maddie does, she is the first
- 46:23Speaker 2: one getting married to the family. So I do think
- 46:25Speaker 2: that the family wants to respect that and they want
- 46:28Speaker 2: to give Maddie the speece. to have her time and
- 46:32Speaker 2: have her moment and i think that's fair again i'm
- 46:36Speaker 2: just gonna bring up the point that you had a
- 46:38Speaker 2: million children close in age together so it is kind
- 46:42Speaker 2: of unfair now that all of them are of marrying
- 46:45Speaker 2: age you want them to do it at a specific
- 46:47Speaker 2: time frame because you want everybody.
- 46:49Speaker 1: To have their space like that's not how it works hun.
- 46:51Speaker 2: It's not how life works And so then we have
- 46:54Speaker 2: Robin making the comment of, are they just wanting to
- 46:57Speaker 2: rush into it like all LDS couples do because they
- 47:00Speaker 2: want to fuck? And Christine does say, I think that
- 47:02Speaker 2: that's part of it. And it was interesting because Robin's
- 47:06Speaker 2: the only one that voices this, that saying like, you know,
- 47:09Speaker 2: a lot of Mormons do this because they want to
- 47:11Speaker 2: have sex because you have the law of chastity that
- 47:14Speaker 2: you can't get, you can't have sex until you get married.
- 47:17Speaker 1: Right.
- 47:18Speaker 2: And Janelle and Mary and Christine all are like, no comment.
- 47:22Speaker 2: We don't want to talk about that, about the Mormon church. Why?
- 47:27Speaker 2: Didn't y'all get married fast because you wanted to fuck?
- 47:29Speaker 2: Are we going to act like you didn't do that?
- 47:31Speaker 1: They don't talk about the bedroom. But interestingly, Robin is
- 47:34Speaker 1: okay to do that.
- 47:35Speaker 2: She's the only one that's open about it. True Libra
- 47:37Speaker 2: right there. And so we kind of end the conversation
- 47:41Speaker 2: with that. Then we go over to Bozeman, Montana, where
- 47:44Speaker 2: the family.
- 47:44Speaker 1: Can we just rush through this part? Literally. It's nothing.
- 47:47Speaker 1: It's a nothing burger.
- 47:48Speaker 2: I only want to bring it up just because it's,
- 47:52Speaker 2: showing the double standard again, because we had like the
- 47:54Speaker 2: first half of the episode, basically shitting on McKelty.
- 47:57Speaker 1: All the parents, everybody except for Robin.
- 47:58Speaker 2: All of the parents like shitting on McKelty for wanting
- 48:00Speaker 2: to get married. And then now we're in Bozeman and
- 48:03Speaker 2: we're going to all these like food and beverage and
- 48:06Speaker 2: cake vendors and stuff.
- 48:07Speaker 1: Everybody's so excited and having a great time. Happy.
- 48:11Speaker 2: So supportive of Maddie marrying this 30 year old, but okay, whatever.
- 48:15Speaker 2: And then the end of the episode is Mary and Cody.
- 48:19Speaker 2: talking this was the tea right here was juicy because
- 48:25Speaker 2: the conversation starts off by mary bitching about leon right
- 48:31Speaker 2: and bitching about leon's attitude and how they don't want
- 48:34Speaker 2: to talk to her and how mary is trying to
- 48:37Speaker 2: bridge the gap with leon but leon's got their walls
- 48:40Speaker 2: up and she's frustrated and then mary equivocates is that
- 48:45Speaker 2: the word To this, to her relationship with Cody, because
- 48:49Speaker 2: she says, you know, I feel like I'm in the
- 48:51Speaker 2: same place with Leon that I am with you, Cody.
- 48:54Speaker 2: And Cody's like, what do you mean? Feigning ignorance. Like,
- 48:58Speaker 2: what do you mean? And Mary's like, well, you know,
- 49:01Speaker 2: every time I try to talk to you about anything,
- 49:02Speaker 2: you just kind of. Go blank.
- 49:06Speaker 1: And blow me off.
- 49:07Speaker 2: And blow me off. And, you know, I'm not really
- 49:10Speaker 2: okay with where things are at right now and what
- 49:13Speaker 2: we've been doing.
- 49:13Speaker 1: Okay. You're paraphrasing to her credit because she is such
- 49:18Speaker 1: a bad person. communicator. And yes, we do start off
- 49:24Speaker 1: talking about Leon. I felt like Mary is now getting
- 49:28Speaker 1: mad about it. Like she's actually pissed off that Leon
- 49:33Speaker 1: would carry this grudge this long. And I think that
- 49:36Speaker 1: Mary went up to Utah to visit Leon maybe two
- 49:41Speaker 1: months ago, one month ago or whatever. Like it wasn't
- 49:43Speaker 1: that long ago. And so it hasn't been a lot
- 49:46Speaker 1: of time. And in the conversation when Mary traveled to
- 49:49Speaker 1: Utah with Leon, like she didn't really say anything. Again,
- 49:53Speaker 1: she kind of expected Leon to do all the talking
- 49:56Speaker 1: to mend their relationship. And Leon's like, I ain't doing that.
- 49:59Speaker 1: And so Mary, what are you doing to heal this relationship?
- 50:02Speaker 1: What sort of action steps? What is your plan? But no,
- 50:05Speaker 1: you just want to be pissed. And be like, well,
- 50:08Speaker 1: Leon's being spoiled. Like, that's kind of what it was.
- 50:11Speaker 2: That's totally what it was. And she does say, you're right.
- 50:14Speaker 2: She says something like, I just want to deal with
- 50:17Speaker 2: it and fix it. I just want to tell Leon,
- 50:19Speaker 2: we need to deal with this. You need to get
- 50:21Speaker 2: over it and let's fix it. And then she says
- 50:24Speaker 2: that to Cody as well. Like, let's deal with it.
- 50:26Speaker 2: Let's talk about it. That's just my personality, Cody. I
- 50:29Speaker 2: just want to deal with it. And I'm like, well,
- 50:31Speaker 2: but you're not dealing with it.
- 50:32Speaker 1: She doesn't want to deal with it. She doesn't want
- 50:34Speaker 1: to hear anything because he's going to say some things
- 50:36Speaker 1: to her in this conversation and she immediately reacts and
- 50:40Speaker 1: flares up.
- 50:41Speaker 2: Yes. And so Cody says he's confused about this. He's like,
- 50:46Speaker 2: I think he's taken off guard by Mary bringing this up,
- 50:50Speaker 2: especially on camera.
- 50:51Speaker 1: He was planning for a conversation about Leon only.
- 50:54Speaker 2: And he does keep trying to bring it back to
- 50:56Speaker 2: Leon in this conversation because the point of this was,
- 51:00Speaker 2: Cody being like, I'll talk to Leon for you. Like
- 51:03Speaker 2: I'll see if I can try and mend the gap
- 51:05Speaker 2: between you two. Maybe I can hear what Leon has
- 51:09Speaker 2: to say and I can give them my input. So
- 51:12Speaker 2: that way they're not as mad at you. And Mary's
- 51:15Speaker 2: just like, yeah, but what about us though? She keeps
- 51:19Speaker 2: bringing it back up to them. And while I do
- 51:22Speaker 2: think Mary was being annoying in this conversation, um, I
- 51:24Speaker 2: kind of feel like she did it on purpose to
- 51:26Speaker 2: bring it up on camera because I feel like.
- 51:28Speaker 1: Otherwise he would not have.
- 51:29Speaker 2: He would have never talked about it with her.
- 51:31Speaker 1: Entertained the conversation at all.
- 51:33Speaker 2: At all.
- 51:33Speaker 1: I think you're right. I think she planned for this
- 51:35Speaker 1: to happen.
- 51:36Speaker 2: Totally.
- 51:36Speaker 1: And I don't blame her because again, for some context here,
- 51:41Speaker 1: according to Mary and maybe Christine in her book, I
- 51:44Speaker 1: can't keep it together, everybody. But according to Mary, Cody
- 51:48Speaker 1: had promised her if, She granted the legal divorce that
- 51:52Speaker 1: he could marry Robin and adopt the kids, the little
- 51:55Speaker 1: tenders and everything. Then he would recommit to their relationship
- 52:00Speaker 1: and they could start working on the situation with that relationship,
- 52:04Speaker 1: that marriage. And so that was one of the incentives
- 52:08Speaker 1: that Mary had. to go through with the legal divorce.
- 52:10Speaker 1: And then, of course, she does it and he ghosts her. Now,
- 52:13Speaker 1: this coincides, according to Cody, in this conversation with Mary
- 52:17Speaker 1: actually telling Cody to leave her home, that she needs
- 52:21Speaker 1: some space. It's not safe. Get out of my life. Like,
- 52:25Speaker 1: get out of my life. So she says this to
- 52:27Speaker 1: Cody during the whole catfish. So she's definitely got a
- 52:31Speaker 1: banana in her mouth. She's definitely making drunken phone calls
- 52:34Speaker 1: at 2 a.m. to who she thinks is Sam. And
- 52:37Speaker 1: she's in love with another man. So she tells Cody
- 52:39Speaker 1: to get the fuck out. And he does. And he never,
- 52:43Speaker 1: ever comes back. And in this conversation, she's trying to
- 52:47Speaker 1: force the issue by doing it on camera. And I
- 52:50Speaker 1: think she wants to communicate to him that she wants
- 52:53Speaker 1: to be with him. She wants to be together. She
- 52:56Speaker 1: wants to work on the relationship. And Cody proceeds to
- 53:00Speaker 1: act so surprised that she would want such a thing.
- 53:05Speaker 2: And he's so surprised that it's even an issue also,
- 53:08Speaker 2: because Cody is saying things in this conversation and also
- 53:11Speaker 2: on camera, like in his talking head, like I've worked
- 53:15Speaker 2: really hard to not be antagonistic. I've worked really hard
- 53:19Speaker 2: to be calm. Anytime I try to interact with Mary,
- 53:22Speaker 2: because I don't like want things to pop off between us.
- 53:25Speaker 2: And I don't want her to pop off on me basically.
- 53:28Speaker 2: And so to him and his mind, he's doing work.
- 53:31Speaker 2: He's doing the work in their relationship, but, not in
- 53:35Speaker 2: the way that Mary wants it done because she wants
- 53:39Speaker 2: the work done on her pussy.
- 53:40Speaker 1: She wants that. She wants him to work that pussy.
- 53:43Speaker 1: How do you get that?
- 53:44Speaker 2: She's lonely. And that's, that's the root of this.
- 53:47Speaker 1: She was lonely beforehand and she's even lonelier now.
- 53:50Speaker 2: And we know now, I think from Christine's book that
- 53:54Speaker 2: prior to the catfish, Cody and Mary weren't fucking like,
- 53:58Speaker 2: they weren't in a sexual intimate relationship for many years.
- 54:02Speaker 2: The whole like, beginning seasons of the show where they're
- 54:05Speaker 2: trying to talk about, you know, the idea of having
- 54:07Speaker 2: another baby was all a crock of shit because he
- 54:10Speaker 2: wasn't even touching her poo nanny with a 10 foot
- 54:13Speaker 2: pole at this point in time. So it's been many
- 54:15Speaker 2: years that they haven't really had a full marriage. Then
- 54:19Speaker 2: that led to the catfish situation, obviously, and Mary having
- 54:24Speaker 2: an emotional affair because she is lonely and, um, wants
- 54:28Speaker 2: her punani touched. And neglected. And she's neglected.
- 54:30Speaker 1: And she's in a very toxic relationship and also a
- 54:33Speaker 1: toxic family system.
- 54:34Speaker 2: Yes.
- 54:35Speaker 1: And she doesn't know how to healthily assert her desires
- 54:39Speaker 1: or to have boundaries or to demand things in this relationship.
- 54:42Speaker 1: And so she resorts to doing whatever she's doing online
- 54:45Speaker 1: with people outside of her relationship and not actually talking
- 54:48Speaker 1: to Cody. It seems to me at some point in
- 54:51Speaker 1: this conversation with Cody and Mary that Mary is just like,
- 54:54Speaker 1: what are we going to do? because we need to
- 54:56Speaker 1: do whatever that is so that we can move on.
- 54:58Speaker 1: It almost felt like she's like, should we just go
- 55:00Speaker 1: our separate ways? She wants an answer from him. What
- 55:04Speaker 1: is it that you want to do? Do you want
- 55:05Speaker 1: to be with me or do you not? Do you
- 55:07Speaker 1: want to walk away from me? And if so, like,
- 55:10Speaker 1: let me know. And Cody in this moment insists that
- 55:15Speaker 1: they go to see Nancy.
- 55:16Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 55:17Speaker 1: I'm like, not Nancy. Oh my God. The most ineffectual
- 55:20Speaker 1: therapist known to man, but he wants to do this
- 55:23Speaker 1: in a safer environment and here I agree with him.
- 55:26Speaker 1: Because in this conversation, I was so annoyed with how
- 55:30Speaker 1: Mary talks. It's not that she didn't have valid points.
- 55:33Speaker 1: She did. It's not that she shouldn't make demands and
- 55:36Speaker 1: ask for clarity and transparency. She absolutely should. But the
- 55:42Speaker 1: tone in which she does it, anytime Cody says something
- 55:45Speaker 1: to her, and he's being very careful with his tone.
- 55:47Speaker 1: He is. He's being very careful with his inflection. He's
- 55:50Speaker 1: not being reactive at all. And I felt like That
- 55:54Speaker 1: was kind of a trauma response with him. Like what
- 55:57Speaker 1: that gave to me was that he has been down
- 55:59Speaker 1: this road so many times with Mary that he's had
- 56:02Speaker 1: so many explosive arguments and situations with Mary that he
- 56:06Speaker 1: is so careful in any potentially problematic conversation with her.
- 56:11Speaker 1: He's got to moderate how he speaks and how he presents.
- 56:14Speaker 1: And even with him being so careful in this conversation,
- 56:17Speaker 1: you still have Mary popping off. And when he says
- 56:20Speaker 1: something like, well, I don't think I did that. She's like, well,
- 56:23Speaker 1: that's how I feel, Cody. And she's just, do you
- 56:26Speaker 1: know what I'm saying? She's so, talk about immature. Talk
- 56:30Speaker 1: about not having a developed personality. Talk about, I don't know,
- 56:34Speaker 1: you guys have been married for 25 years at this
- 56:36Speaker 1: point or whatever it is. And you guys still don't
- 56:38Speaker 1: know how to interact with each other. It's abysmal.
- 56:41Speaker 2: She's one of those people that really leads with anger
- 56:44Speaker 2: all the time.
- 56:44Speaker 1: And leads with frustration. She's an angry person.
- 56:46Speaker 2: Whereas instead of reflecting on why am I angry and
- 56:51Speaker 2: what's the feeling underneath the anger, because oftentimes anger is
- 56:55Speaker 2: secondary to like the actual emotion that you're feeling. She
- 56:58Speaker 2: just comes in bullhead horns out. Like she's ready to
- 57:03Speaker 2: just fight about it because she starts off saying something
- 57:08Speaker 2: about Leon and how she, Leon is angry with her,
- 57:12Speaker 2: doesn't understand the full situation, doesn't understand that Mary was
- 57:16Speaker 2: a victim of the catfish, which pisses me off.
- 57:20Speaker 1: Which she puts in quotation marks.
- 57:22Speaker 2: She puts it in quotation marks and that just pisses
- 57:24Speaker 2: me off. And I'll get to that in a second.
- 57:26Speaker 2: But she's saying this about Leon and says, you know,
- 57:28Speaker 2: Leon doesn't get it. It feels like it's a punishment
- 57:32Speaker 2: for me and that I'm not willing to deal with
- 57:35Speaker 2: that any longer. I'm not willing to spend more time
- 57:38Speaker 2: like that in my relationship with my own kid. And
- 57:40Speaker 2: I'm not willing to spend time in that relationship with you,
- 57:44Speaker 2: Cody also, because she's kind of insinuating that Cody is
- 57:48Speaker 2: punishing her by either withholding affection, not coming around, coming around,
- 57:53Speaker 2: not having a close relationship with her, which likely started
- 57:57Speaker 2: before the catfish anyway. So I'm like, Mary, I understand
- 58:01Speaker 2: you're frustrated by this situation, but can we also be
- 58:03Speaker 2: real with you for a second? Like you're the one
- 58:07Speaker 2: that was one foot out the door of this relationship
- 58:10Speaker 2: already by talking to Sam the catfish.
- 58:12Speaker 1: You were cheating.
- 58:13Speaker 2: You were cheating. You were sexting with this person. You
- 58:16Speaker 2: were telling this person you loved them. Miss me with
- 58:18Speaker 2: this whole, I'm a victim of a catfish.
- 58:22Speaker 1: And I'm being punished.
- 58:23Speaker 2: And I'm being punished for being a victim. No, you're not.
- 58:26Speaker 2: You had an emotional affair. And I understand why you
- 58:29Speaker 2: did because you were neglected. Doesn't make it right, obviously.
- 58:32Speaker 2: I understand that your marriage was terrible and is terrible,
- 58:37Speaker 2: but maybe you should have put both feet out the
- 58:40Speaker 2: door and left. Maybe you should have been real with
- 58:43Speaker 2: yourself and been like, you know what? I had more
- 58:45Speaker 2: fun sucking on that banana in the bathtub than I
- 58:47Speaker 2: have in all 30 years of my marriage with Cody.
- 58:50Speaker 1: And you can't really blame Leon for just needing to
- 58:53Speaker 1: take a little bit of space. That's not punishment. That
- 58:56Speaker 1: is just a reaction to something that you did. You
- 59:00Speaker 1: don't like it because it shines a light back on
- 59:02Speaker 1: you concerning the thing that you did, which you still
- 59:05Speaker 1: don't want to even name because in this conversation, Cody
- 59:08Speaker 1: actually does and it's so awesome. He's like, so do
- 59:11Speaker 1: you think Leon is upset because you cheated on me?
- 59:14Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 59:15Speaker 1: Like we don't use that word. Like I know Robin
- 59:17Speaker 1: did the one time and now Cody's using it. And
- 59:20Speaker 1: I just don't think Mary has the interiority of or
- 59:25Speaker 1: the capacity to receive that word. She's still in denial
- 59:29Speaker 1: as to what she did. She's still trying to paint
- 59:32Speaker 1: herself out as a victim. And she is high on
- 59:36Speaker 1: her own supply. She's huffing her own farts on this.
- 59:38Speaker 1: She believes it. And that's why she's like so incredulous
- 59:42Speaker 1: that Leon would have the audacity not to call Mary
- 59:45Speaker 1: back or not to want to participate in a relationship. Well,
- 59:48Speaker 1: Leon told you that you were being catfished. Leon saw
- 59:51Speaker 1: what you were doing. In the relationship with Cody, and
- 59:54Speaker 1: maybe they didn't hear you actually tell Cody that he
- 59:58Speaker 1: had to leave the house, but Leon absolutely knew it.
- 1:00:01Speaker 1: Kids know things like that, Mary. So why are you
- 1:00:04Speaker 1: acting so brand new? It makes me crazy, Beatrice.
- 1:00:07Speaker 2: It makes me crazy too, because I'm just like, oh
- 1:00:10Speaker 2: my God, like... Leon's allowed to be angry and while
- 1:00:13Speaker 2: we do talk about how Leon is a big fucking
- 1:00:15Speaker 2: brat because they are they're totally they have attitude a
- 1:00:19Speaker 2: lot of the time and they're kind of an annoying
- 1:00:21Speaker 2: person even to this day kind of like they're still
- 1:00:24Speaker 2: really annoying they still have at this point in time
- 1:00:27Speaker 2: a right to be angry because like you said they
- 1:00:29Speaker 2: did tell Mary over and over again that they were
- 1:00:31Speaker 2: being catfished and Mary didn't believe them at all. And
- 1:00:35Speaker 2: Leon likely heard a lot of those 2 a.m. conversations
- 1:00:39Speaker 2: where you're professing your love to this fucking catfish, where
- 1:00:42Speaker 2: you're sucking on a banana in a bathtub and probably
- 1:00:44Speaker 2: moaning and having phone sex. You know what I mean?
- 1:00:47Speaker 2: Like they probably heard all of these things and you
- 1:00:49Speaker 2: still want to act like a victim and that's BS.
- 1:00:53Speaker 2: And like when Mary brings up the catfish and puts
- 1:00:57Speaker 2: it in quotations, we have this like weird interstitial where
- 1:01:01Speaker 2: she's like, I don't want to give that power and
- 1:01:04Speaker 2: Cody says yeah I've had to tell Mary over and
- 1:01:07Speaker 2: over again to stop reacting to the things that people
- 1:01:10Speaker 2: are saying online about it to stop reading articles about
- 1:01:14Speaker 2: it it doesn't exist outside of your own mind and
- 1:01:17Speaker 2: none of this exists outside of the walls of our
- 1:01:19Speaker 2: little polygamous compound like just forget about it and I
- 1:01:23Speaker 2: was kind of wondering if that was Cody's attempt at
- 1:01:28Speaker 2: trying to sweep this under the rug, because maybe he
- 1:01:30Speaker 2: doesn't even want to deal with the fact that Mary
- 1:01:33Speaker 2: had an emotional affair with somebody, like maybe somewhere deep
- 1:01:37Speaker 2: down inside of him, he can't even believe that like
- 1:01:40Speaker 2: he would have a wife who would betray him in
- 1:01:43Speaker 2: this way. And I know Cody sucks and I'm not
- 1:01:45Speaker 2: trying to justify, you know, Cody's treatment as a husband.
- 1:01:48Speaker 2: He's objectively terrible, but maybe this is his way of
- 1:01:51Speaker 2: trying to sweep it under the rug and, And Mary
- 1:01:54Speaker 2: maybe is looking at comments and getting embarrassed. And maybe
- 1:01:58Speaker 2: this is to your point about her feeling so much shame,
- 1:02:01Speaker 2: she can't even look at this part of herself. And
- 1:02:04Speaker 2: now she's watching all these people online and TMZ article
- 1:02:07Speaker 2: after TMZ article talking about how she's a big old cheater.
- 1:02:10Speaker 1: Your actual recordings that you left for Sam being leaked
- 1:02:14Speaker 1: on the internet, the photos.
- 1:02:15Speaker 2: Exactly.
- 1:02:16Speaker 1: Oh my God, how embarrassing.
- 1:02:17Speaker 2: Super embarrassing. And so maybe she's just reacting from her
- 1:02:21Speaker 2: own trauma from the situation but it's like girl you
- 1:02:24Speaker 2: did it to yourself and i'm sorry that the only
- 1:02:28Speaker 2: two people that are in your that are in your
- 1:02:29Speaker 2: corner right now are mad at you cody's mad at
- 1:02:32Speaker 2: you and leon's mad at you.
- 1:02:34Speaker 1: But you made your bed but of course they are
- 1:02:37Speaker 1: you made your bed they're normal human people who would
- 1:02:40Speaker 1: have normal human reactions to such a To make amends
- 1:02:47Speaker 1: and you continue to attempt to be conciliatory. You don't
- 1:02:50Speaker 1: need to be a doormat, but you continue to make
- 1:02:53Speaker 1: yourself available to these relationships until they're ready, until they
- 1:02:58Speaker 1: can speak, until something gives way. But Mary is getting
- 1:03:01Speaker 1: frustrated at this point. She wants everybody to just accept her,
- 1:03:04Speaker 1: get over it. She doesn't want any distance between her
- 1:03:08Speaker 1: and Cody. And honestly, I think she desperately, desperately wants
- 1:03:12Speaker 1: her marriage back. She wants this connection with Cody. but
- 1:03:15Speaker 1: he is so freaking checked out.
- 1:03:18Speaker 2: Totally.
- 1:03:18Speaker 1: And he does bring up, and she says it, like,
- 1:03:20Speaker 1: you don't come. I call you. You say, I can't
- 1:03:22Speaker 1: come over. I'll call you later. And then you never call.
- 1:03:25Speaker 1: I spend a lot of time on my own in
- 1:03:29Speaker 1: my haunted house with my wet bar. And there's nobody around.
- 1:03:34Speaker 1: It is a really lonely life. And this is where
- 1:03:36Speaker 1: Cody reminds her, but like, yeah, you told me to
- 1:03:39Speaker 1: leave your house. You told me to get out of
- 1:03:42Speaker 1: your life. And When he says that, she actually like
- 1:03:47Speaker 1: drops her mouth open. Like she can't believe he says it.
- 1:03:50Speaker 1: And she has nothing to say in reply to that.
- 1:03:52Speaker 1: Because what can you say? You absolutely did that. What
- 1:03:56Speaker 1: she does say is, well, Cody, you know what I
- 1:03:58Speaker 1: was going through at the time. You know why I
- 1:04:01Speaker 1: said that, Cody. Okay, what?
- 1:04:04Speaker 2: I know. I'm like, what are you trying to say there?
- 1:04:06Speaker 2: Like she says that a couple times actually. Like you
- 1:04:09Speaker 2: know the real reason behind that. And Cody's like, no,
- 1:04:12Speaker 2: I don't.
- 1:04:12Speaker 1: I actually don't.
- 1:04:13Speaker 2: And what was the thing that he said? I never
- 1:04:15Speaker 2: said this. I think it was about visiting Nancy. Oh, right.
- 1:04:20Speaker 2: Cody keeps saying something like, you know, like, let's talk
- 1:04:22Speaker 2: to Nancy. Let's talk to Nancy.
- 1:04:23Speaker 1: He keeps trying to direct.
- 1:04:25Speaker 2: He's trying to shut the conversation down because I think
- 1:04:27Speaker 2: he doesn't want this to be on camera at all.
- 1:04:30Speaker 2: And he's really trying hard to be calm and not
- 1:04:32Speaker 2: turn it into a fight. And Mary says, I've been
- 1:04:34Speaker 2: asking you to go to Nancy and you keep saying no.
- 1:04:39Speaker 2: And Cody says, I don't remember denying that. I don't
- 1:04:42Speaker 2: remember ever saying no. And this is where I'm like, okay,
- 1:04:45Speaker 2: there's a breakdown here. I think Cody's trying to save
- 1:04:48Speaker 2: his face in this conversation a little bit. I think
- 1:04:50Speaker 2: he is trying to gaslight Mary a bit. I think
- 1:04:54Speaker 2: Mary probably has been trying to get him to go
- 1:04:56Speaker 2: to therapy for a while. And maybe Cody's just not
- 1:05:00Speaker 2: interested because, like you said, he's totally fucking checked out.
- 1:05:03Speaker 2: He's been checked out for a long time. And ultimately...
- 1:05:06Speaker 2: You know, he was checked out before the catfish and
- 1:05:09Speaker 2: now certainly after the catfish and he just doesn't want
- 1:05:13Speaker 2: to deal with it. Mary is trying, but like Mary girl,
- 1:05:18Speaker 2: if you're the only one that wants this and he
- 1:05:20Speaker 2: doesn't want it, it's time to leave.
- 1:05:22Speaker 1: Yes. Have some self-respect.
- 1:05:23Speaker 2: It's time to go. Yeah.
- 1:05:25Speaker 1: I mean, acting like a petulant entitled child. And fully
- 1:05:30Speaker 1: owning your part in this is the problem. And next
- 1:05:34Speaker 1: week in the preview, we see Cody sitting down with
- 1:05:37Speaker 1: Leon and saying something like, I think I was the catalyst.
- 1:05:40Speaker 1: I think I was the reason the catfish happened, which
- 1:05:43Speaker 1: I loosely remember this conversation. And I thought that that
- 1:05:47Speaker 1: was really generous of Cody to even admit. And I
- 1:05:49Speaker 1: wondered to myself then, and I'm still wondering, did he
- 1:05:51Speaker 1: mean that? Does he think that maybe he contributed to
- 1:05:55Speaker 1: the events that took place? It'll be interesting to watch
- 1:05:57Speaker 1: it again. But in this conversation, you just kind of
- 1:06:03Speaker 1: see the utter and total breakdown of this relationship. There's
- 1:06:08Speaker 1: nothing good here. There's not even friendship. There's an inability
- 1:06:12Speaker 1: to talk about things that they actually agree on, i.e.
- 1:06:15Speaker 2: Leon.
- 1:06:15Speaker 1: They're just so frustrated. profoundly disconnected it's like cut bait
- 1:06:20Speaker 1: and go Mary or Cody.
- 1:06:22Speaker 2: I mean really and I think it's at this point
- 1:06:24Speaker 2: where like you can't really resurrect anything in this marriage
- 1:06:28Speaker 2: maybe a few years ago when the disconnection started you
- 1:06:32Speaker 2: probably could have gone to therapy and maybe worked on
- 1:06:34Speaker 2: your things but it has been disconnected for so long
- 1:06:38Speaker 2: at this point like we know from Christine's book it
- 1:06:41Speaker 2: was like 10 years or something like that that Mary
- 1:06:43Speaker 2: and Cody had like ceased intimacy it's like it's been
- 1:06:47Speaker 2: a minute and then mary continues to grovel and we
- 1:06:52Speaker 2: see her do this all the way up into season
- 1:06:54Speaker 2: 20 bitch yeah where she is continuing to cape for
- 1:06:58Speaker 2: cody and robin and try to act like this dutiful
- 1:07:01Speaker 2: wife but cody has been checked out over it uninterested
- 1:07:06Speaker 2: and like i know that he's kind of been stringing
- 1:07:09Speaker 2: her along yes up into this point and mary does
- 1:07:11Speaker 2: say near the end of this conversation she's tired of
- 1:07:14Speaker 2: being in limbo and i think you're right it's because
- 1:07:17Speaker 2: she's like toying with the idea of just leaving or
- 1:07:21Speaker 2: wanting to stay. And I think she does ultimately want
- 1:07:23Speaker 2: to stay for the family as a whole, obviously because
- 1:07:26Speaker 2: of her tree paintings.
- 1:07:27Speaker 1: That was the simplest. I think the reason she stays
- 1:07:30Speaker 1: is for Cody. I think she's desperately in love with Cody.
- 1:07:33Speaker 2: Gross.
- 1:07:34Speaker 1: I think she wants to get it back on track
- 1:07:36Speaker 1: with him.
- 1:07:36Speaker 2: And I'm just like, why?
- 1:07:38Speaker 1: I don't have any idea. I can't see it. I
- 1:07:40Speaker 1: don't understand it, but they have a shared history and
- 1:07:44Speaker 1: when you are in a relationship since you're 19 years
- 1:07:46Speaker 1: old with the same person and you guys have shared
- 1:07:48Speaker 1: so much together, it is devastating to walk away from
- 1:07:51Speaker 1: something like that. So she's just not ready to do
- 1:07:54Speaker 1: it yet. Cody, on the other hand, is ready. And
- 1:07:57Speaker 1: the kind thing for Cody to do is to tell
- 1:07:59Speaker 1: her the truth right now and to let her know
- 1:08:01Speaker 1: it's never, not ever going to happen. And he really
- 1:08:03Speaker 1: doesn't do that until they're in Flagstaff. And even then
- 1:08:06Speaker 1: she doesn't hear it or want to hear it. And
- 1:08:08Speaker 1: that's the delusion of Mary.
- 1:08:10Speaker 2: And it's really... crazy to watch it. Cause I do
- 1:08:13Speaker 2: think you're right. She does love him and they have
- 1:08:15Speaker 2: long history together. So she wants to keep it and
- 1:08:18Speaker 2: she wants to stay, but I don't know. I think
- 1:08:22Speaker 2: the real problem is her not acknowledging that she had
- 1:08:25Speaker 2: this affair and that she enjoyed it. Like that's the thing.
- 1:08:28Speaker 1: Like she wanted it and she would have left Cody
- 1:08:30Speaker 1: in a second.
- 1:08:31Speaker 2: If it were real, she literally was on a voice
- 1:08:33Speaker 2: recording saying that she would have done that. Like she
- 1:08:35Speaker 2: would have done anything for this person. And if Sam
- 1:08:38Speaker 2: turned out to be that beautiful 25 year old model
- 1:08:41Speaker 2: are you kidding me yes she would have left cody
- 1:08:44Speaker 2: and the whole family in a hot minute honey and
- 1:08:47Speaker 2: so it's just she can't admit to herself that that's
- 1:08:49Speaker 2: what she wanted to do and it's funny because she
- 1:08:51Speaker 2: posted this instagram reel like just yesterday i saw that
- 1:08:55Speaker 2: where she it was a promo for worthy up and
- 1:08:57Speaker 2: maybe we'll react to it on patreon because it's so
- 1:09:00Speaker 2: ridiculous but one of the things that she had said
- 1:09:02Speaker 2: was that she struggles with being authentic and i thought
- 1:09:05Speaker 2: that that was like the most truthful authentic authentic thing
- 1:09:10Speaker 2: that we've ever heard from mary brown because you can
- 1:09:12Speaker 2: see it in season 11 you can see it in
- 1:09:14Speaker 2: all these seasons sister wives but like she really struggles
- 1:09:18Speaker 2: with Being her authentic self. And in that, I can
- 1:09:21Speaker 2: have compassion for Mary, even though it frustrates the fuck
- 1:09:24Speaker 2: out of me. Because I'm like, oh my God, just
- 1:09:26Speaker 2: be real with yourself. But you can tell.
- 1:09:29Speaker 1: Maybe she's becoming self-aware. But I mean, based on the trailer,
- 1:09:33Speaker 1: I don't think we're going to see any of that.
- 1:09:35Speaker 2: At all.
- 1:09:35Speaker 1: Self-reflection in this season.
- 1:09:37Speaker 2: No. At all. And so season 11 does look lit,
- 1:09:40Speaker 2: but we will pause it for now. Yeah. Because we
- 1:09:42Speaker 2: have season 21 to worry about for sure. But the
- 1:09:45Speaker 2: season preview for 11, we have Maddie getting married and
- 1:09:49Speaker 2: her bachelorette party and their dress fitting and everything. We
- 1:09:53Speaker 2: have Tony proposing to McKelty on some cliffside or whatever.
- 1:09:57Speaker 2: And Christine says, you know, she does acknowledge McKelty is
- 1:10:00Speaker 2: different when Tony's around. She's actually quiet for once. She
- 1:10:03Speaker 2: shuts the fuck up. It's great. Yeah.
- 1:10:05Speaker 1: Such a good mom, Christine.
- 1:10:07Speaker 2: Such a good mom. We also have Robin and Christine
- 1:10:10Speaker 2: allegedly getting along better. They end up hugging each other
- 1:10:13Speaker 2: on the couch.
- 1:10:13Speaker 1: I don't believe that for a second.
- 1:10:14Speaker 2: And Robin is crying because their friendship is just growing.
- 1:10:17Speaker 1: When is she not crying?
- 1:10:18Speaker 2: I know. Cody does tell Tony to wait six more
- 1:10:21Speaker 2: months to get married so that way they can fuck.
- 1:10:23Speaker 2: And Tony is like, I don't think I want to
- 1:10:26Speaker 2: do that. Um, Cody does talk to Leon. He does
- 1:10:29Speaker 2: say that he is the catalyst for the things happening
- 1:10:32Speaker 2: with Mary and Leon and their bitchy attitude is like,
- 1:10:36Speaker 2: I don't believe that bitch. You don't know nothing.
- 1:10:40Speaker 1: You're not an adult.
- 1:10:41Speaker 2: You're a zygote.
- 1:10:41Speaker 1: You don't know the things of adults and marriages and
- 1:10:44Speaker 1: how hard it can be for real.
- 1:10:47Speaker 2: Um, you don't know everything. It's so annoying. Um, and
- 1:10:52Speaker 2: then Cody does say that his ultimate goal is to
- 1:10:54Speaker 2: keep his family together and which does age like milk.
- 1:10:58Speaker 2: And then Mary and Janelle go to therapy with Nancy,
- 1:11:01Speaker 2: but we don't see Mary and Cody going to therapy
- 1:11:03Speaker 2: with Nancy, which is unfortunate.
- 1:11:05Speaker 1: I know they do.
- 1:11:06Speaker 2: I know, but I don't see, we don't see it
- 1:11:07Speaker 2: in the preview.
- 1:11:08Speaker 1: We don't see it in the preview. And I remember
- 1:11:10Speaker 1: nothing getting resolved as usual in that therapy. And the
- 1:11:14Speaker 1: way Mary and Janelle were so awkward in that preview,
- 1:11:18Speaker 1: sitting down on the same sofa to talk to Nancy,
- 1:11:20Speaker 1: they can't stand. Nobody likes each other in this family
- 1:11:23Speaker 1: at all. Nobody likes each other at all.
- 1:11:26Speaker 2: And Mary literally says in that therapy session that, like,
- 1:11:28Speaker 2: we're not friends. Me and Janelle, we're not friends.
- 1:11:30Speaker 1: Bitch. You're such a bitch. Why you gotta be like that?
- 1:11:33Speaker 2: Like, for no reason.
- 1:11:34Speaker 1: Janelle is literally not doing anything like that.
- 1:11:37Speaker 2: I mean, nobody says anything like that about Mary. Mary's
- 1:11:39Speaker 2: the only one that's just like, I'm not friends with anybody.
- 1:11:42Speaker 1: And she really doesn't have the currency to be able
- 1:11:46Speaker 1: to make that kind of a withdrawal with these relationships. Like, no,
- 1:11:49Speaker 1: you owe people. For real. Like, you should be showing
- 1:11:51Speaker 1: up in a different way to these various relationships, but
- 1:11:53Speaker 1: you're still such a.
- 1:11:55Speaker 2: I think that's the issue really with her. She doesn't
- 1:11:57Speaker 2: realize that she has to show up and you, sometimes
- 1:12:00Speaker 2: you have to suck up your own pride. You have
- 1:12:02Speaker 2: to like be the bigger person and it's not always comfy.
- 1:12:06Speaker 2: And sometimes it's annoying that you have to just like, okay,
- 1:12:09Speaker 2: I'm just going to grit my teeth and like deal
- 1:12:11Speaker 2: with it. But like Mary grew up.
- 1:12:12Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:12:13Speaker 2: She doesn't know how to show up for other people.
- 1:12:15Speaker 1: No, she does not. She's essentially very selfish. Not unlike Leon. Yeah.
- 1:12:20Speaker 1: And also not unlike Cody. So like attracts, like facts. Okay, guys,
- 1:12:26Speaker 1: once again, we are going to be gone next week,
- 1:12:28Speaker 1: but we would love to get your calls if you
- 1:12:30Speaker 1: want to call about your reaction to the trailer about
- 1:12:34Speaker 1: Cody and Robham not coming back to this season and
- 1:12:37Speaker 1: or to the franchise. All you got to do is
- 1:12:39Speaker 1: go to speakpipe.com slash reality tv cringe. I would love,
- 1:12:43Speaker 1: we would love to hear from you. But until we return...
- 1:12:47Speaker 1: Please do not forget that we're on Patreon, still dropping content,
- 1:12:51Speaker 1: and we have nothing but love for you.
- 1:12:53Speaker 2: And peace out.
- 1:12:55Speaker 1: Bye. Bye, guys.
