- 0:02SPEAKER_03: I'm Jordan Travis.
- 0:03SPEAKER_03: And I'm Devin Travis.
- 0:04SPEAKER_03: We're so excited to be back this season, JT.
- 0:07SPEAKER_03: I I couldn't wait to get going again.
- 0:09SPEAKER_03: Obviously, a little slow start for our nose, but we're back.
- 0:13SPEAKER_03: We're rolling another great episode.
- 0:14SPEAKER_03: We're gonna bounce around all over the place, man, covering a ton of hot button topics.
- 0:18SPEAKER_03: I can't wait, JT.
- 0:19SPEAKER_03: I'm excited to be here.
- 0:20SPEAKER_00: I'm excited too, bro.
- 0:21SPEAKER_00: Stay tuned for that and remember to follow Travis Take Two on all platforms.
- 0:24SPEAKER_00: Like, comment, share, and subscribe on YouTube and wherever you listen to your podcast.
- 0:28SPEAKER_00: Let's get started, bro.
- 0:31SPEAKER_03: Well, yeah, you know where I'm starting, JT.
- 0:33SPEAKER_03: I'm just a fan.
- 0:34SPEAKER_03: I get to sit back and and watch.
- 0:37SPEAKER_03: I'm a Cowboys fan.
- 0:38SPEAKER_03: Uh Sundays normally suck.
- 0:41SPEAKER_03: Um, I'm also a Seminoles fan, just like yourself.
- 0:45SPEAKER_03: Uh and a bit of a slow start, right?
- 0:47SPEAKER_03: Three and four, all of our losses versus ranked opponents.
- 0:50SPEAKER_03: Uh I want to believe, I do.
- 0:53SPEAKER_03: I I want to believe I'm not one of these uh fans that always look for the negative, but uh tell me what you got.
- 0:59SPEAKER_03: I mean, I I'm I'm really interested to hear your take.
- 1:02SPEAKER_03: I never bother you about Florida State football.
- 1:04SPEAKER_03: So this is truly uh my first time really getting to hear what you have to say.
- 1:07SPEAKER_00: Well, um obviously it's not the start that we wanted, bro.
- 1:11SPEAKER_00: Um but I can count on two hands.
- 1:15SPEAKER_00: Literally, there's probably a total of 10 plays that change our season from being possibly 7-0, 6-1.
- 1:23SPEAKER_00: Um, every single game that we've played and we've lost, like SMU starting off the season.
- 1:30SPEAKER_00: Um Bro, that's that should be a guaranteed win.
- 1:34SPEAKER_00: Obviously, it didn't go how we wanted it.
- 1:36SPEAKER_00: Um, so I'm not gonna sit here and and and go back, but we weren't able to talk about that.
- 1:40SPEAKER_00: There was there were so many plays in that game.
- 1:42SPEAKER_00: One play that changes the game.
- 1:44SPEAKER_00: Um, obviously, Alabama, the the delay.
- 1:48SPEAKER_00: I mean, being at that game and us having all the momentum, the crowd was completely dead, the air was sucked out of the place.
- 1:54SPEAKER_00: Um, obviously, the delay where I look up and there's nothing but sunshine and clouds everywhere and birds flying.
- 2:00SPEAKER_00: I didn't see one cloud in the sky, so I don't know where that delay came from.
- 2:03SPEAKER_00: But sitting in a locker room for an hour or however long we were in there, obviously there's no excuses at all.
- 2:10SPEAKER_00: Um, but it's like the whole thing switched.
- 2:13SPEAKER_00: Obviously, we're on the four-yard line and we don't score against Louisville, and that fast, literally that fast, bro.
- 2:20SPEAKER_00: They go 90, whatever it was, 94 yards, and literally the game is over from that play.
- 2:27SPEAKER_00: And it's the craziest thing because we've been so affected by momentum.
- 2:31SPEAKER_00: This team has been so affected by momentum, and we don't, I mean, momentum is only allowed is only what you allow it to be.
- 2:38SPEAKER_00: Um like I always said, like when I played, it was like momentum is something you respond to.
- 2:44SPEAKER_00: Um, it's not something you surrender to, and I think that's so big, is because what you allow momentum to be is so is so important, bro.
- 2:52SPEAKER_00: Because obviously, yeah, they go and score touchdown.
- 2:54SPEAKER_00: Guess what?
- 2:55SPEAKER_00: Your offense gets to go back out there and and the momentum just like that.
- 2:58SPEAKER_00: You go down and score, that momentum is over with.
- 3:01SPEAKER_00: So these guys just have to stop allowing momentum to affect them so much.
- 3:05SPEAKER_00: But yeah, bro, I mean, obviously, this past week against Miami, which is gonna be fun to talk about that.
- 3:09SPEAKER_00: There's a lot, a lot to talk about there.
- 3:12SPEAKER_00: But Florida State looked like the better football team on Saturday.
- 3:15SPEAKER_00: I don't know what you believe.
- 3:16SPEAKER_00: I agree by far.
- 3:17SPEAKER_00: I agree.
- 3:18SPEAKER_00: We could say Miami's ranked whatever, and Miami fans can say whatever they want, but Florida State looked like the better football team on Saturday, and being on that field, it felt that way, bro.
- 3:27SPEAKER_00: It felt like we were dominating in every aspect of the game.
- 3:30SPEAKER_00: Our defensive line stepped up.
- 3:32SPEAKER_00: Um, we had pressure on Mensa the entire game, and you could see he was uncomfortable as heck.
- 3:36SPEAKER_00: Malachi Tony is possibly the best player in college football.
- 3:40SPEAKER_00: Jeremiah Smith, Malachi Tony, those top two are they're insane.
- 3:44SPEAKER_00: I mean, he's insane, he's hard to cover.
- 3:46SPEAKER_00: Um, but yeah, bro, I just think we are the better football team on on Saturday.
- 3:52SPEAKER_03: Yeah, you know, you you said you you said a couple things, you know, while while talking there that I have so much interest in.
- 3:59SPEAKER_03: You know, you I just got done watching the the Saban documentary, and and a ton of the stuff that that Saban talked about throughout um those six episodes was the the tiny, the small details, and and you mentioned those small details.
- 4:16SPEAKER_03: So I I guess I want to know as someone who played for Mike Norvell, and obviously, you know, you you you spent a ton of time on those practice fields.
- 4:23SPEAKER_03: Um, you spent a ton of time uh with Norvell watching tape and breaking down all the stuff that comes with the game of football.
- 4:32SPEAKER_03: Do you feel like Coach Norvell does what he needs to do in the sense of covering all those small details?
- 4:41SPEAKER_03: And then if so, my my next question is is how you talk about momentum and you talk about uh don't let the momentum control your next move and find a way to flip it.
- 4:53SPEAKER_03: I'm just so interested because you know you do see momentum clearly in football.
- 4:57SPEAKER_03: It's clear as day.
- 4:58SPEAKER_03: Like the whole game flipped on a dime in that Louisville game.
- 5:01SPEAKER_03: Is it a guy that walks in the huddle and says, hey guys, no more of this.
- 5:04SPEAKER_03: Hey, let's do this, or or is it a coach that kind of walks in and it's loud and it's too uh like what I talk to me about this for state team, and I guess what you've seen in those small details and then how they've handled momentum.
- 5:15SPEAKER_00: Well, I'll say the small details is one of the most important things that we talk about at Florida State.
- 5:20SPEAKER_00: They literally talk about the climb, and every single letter in that word climb means something.
- 5:25SPEAKER_00: C is consistency, L is little things, I is intensity, M is mental toughness, and B is brotherhood.
- 5:32SPEAKER_00: So I mean, we literally talk about little things, it's a second word.
- 5:36SPEAKER_00: Um and when I was at Florida State, the little things were so so important.
- 5:40SPEAKER_00: And your coach can only do so much.
- 5:42SPEAKER_00: It gets to a point where your coach tells you about the little things at the beginning of the season, and your leaders have to take control.
- 5:48SPEAKER_00: Um we were at Florida State from spring, the entire spring, bro.
- 5:52SPEAKER_00: If we had a piece of trash in the locker room that was the smallest piece of gum wrapper, Norvell used to take a picture of it and go around the locker room and take a picture of every piece of trash.
- 6:01SPEAKER_00: This was in the spring.
- 6:02SPEAKER_00: Um, when the season came along, it's our can it's our job to take control of that.
- 6:06SPEAKER_00: But we had about 10 updowns.
- 6:09SPEAKER_00: I mean, there's a day we did a hundred updowns before we even started our workout for the day.
- 6:13SPEAKER_00: So it just shows that the little things are so important.
- 6:15SPEAKER_00: I realized the little things in life are so important.
- 6:18SPEAKER_00: Um like it still to this day, like I want to do the little things.
- 6:23SPEAKER_00: I feel like the people respect the little things so much more as I mean, picking up trash in the locker room.
- 6:28SPEAKER_00: I mean, I picked up trash in the locker room at halftime, and they think I'm like the greatest thing.
- 6:32SPEAKER_00: I'm like, this is my job.
- 6:33SPEAKER_00: Like, I I I mean, we're here on earth to do the little things and put smiles on people's faces.
- 6:37SPEAKER_00: Like, it's not you don't have to thank me for anything at all.
- 6:40SPEAKER_00: Um, but yeah, but the little things are so important.
- 6:42SPEAKER_00: I know, like, for example, Allie, um, she does the little things for you.
- 6:45SPEAKER_00: I mean, you do the little things for her.
- 6:47SPEAKER_00: You wake up in the morning, you write her a note, or she wakes up every single day and looks at that note on the counter.
- 6:51SPEAKER_00: It might be seen as such a little thing, but that means so much to her.
- 6:55SPEAKER_00: Um, so yeah, bro, I think that the guys have to take control of the little things now and say, hey, we are the leaders of this football team.
- 7:00SPEAKER_00: Mike Norvell has so much to worry about right now.
- 7:04SPEAKER_00: And he's uh offensive coordinator, he's running and he's making um game plans all week.
- 7:10SPEAKER_00: He's making schedules, and we have to take control of the little things.
- 7:13SPEAKER_00: So I think that they really need to focus on that.
- 7:15SPEAKER_00: Um, the guys on the bench when we are up, when we're down, those guys that are on the bench that aren't playing, their impact is so important.
- 7:23SPEAKER_00: Waving that towel in the air.
- 7:25SPEAKER_00: And you might not think that your job is important, but your job is so important because when you look to that sideline and you see your guys jumping up and down and pumped up when you come off the field, or there's the interf interception, a touchdown, it's so important.
- 7:36SPEAKER_00: Um, but yeah, the momentum thing, I just feel like, bro, once again, it's the guys have to take control.
- 7:41SPEAKER_00: Someone has to take control.
- 7:42SPEAKER_00: Um, or everyone has to take control.
- 7:44SPEAKER_00: Our team in 2023, we just knew that there was not a team out there that can beat us.
- 7:49SPEAKER_00: And if they're gonna score a touchdown, guess what?
- 7:50SPEAKER_00: Office, Tatum Bethune used to hold me accountable.
- 7:52SPEAKER_00: They used to score and he used to come to the sideline and not get in my face and curse me out, but he'd be like, hey, bro, let's go.
- 7:57SPEAKER_00: Like, let's go.
- 7:58SPEAKER_00: And I know when I look him in his eyes and I say, I got you, I got your back.
- 8:01SPEAKER_00: So at what at some point, we have to have one another's back.
- 8:05SPEAKER_00: I mean, the Cumpson game in 23, we're down, we're probably about to lose the game.
- 8:11SPEAKER_00: And here comes Caitlin DeLoch that comes out of nowhere and makes a sack and scores.
- 8:15SPEAKER_00: And guess what?
- 8:15SPEAKER_00: We have control of the game that fast.
- 8:17SPEAKER_00: So sometimes a guy just has to make a play.
- 8:20SPEAKER_00: Make a play, and the momentum is gone.
- 8:22SPEAKER_00: But I feel like we haven't been able to do that this year.
- 8:24SPEAKER_00: Um, we haven't had that guy to just go make a play that changes the game.
- 8:28SPEAKER_00: So yeah.
- 8:30SPEAKER_03: Yeah, and you know, you you you mentioned the climb.
- 8:32SPEAKER_03: I mean, I love that I'm I'm taking that to baseball tomorrow with the climb and and all the words that come along with it.
- 8:39SPEAKER_03: But that that all sounds like brotherhood.
- 8:41SPEAKER_03: And I I think back to your team in 2023.
- 8:44SPEAKER_03: Obviously, I got a you know, up close and personal look.
- 8:47SPEAKER_03: And I was at the hotel on Friday night before every single Saturday game, and you know, I saw all the families interacting, and you know, we were close with the verses, and and and we were close with uh the Bensons and everybody, it was like a big family affair, and we showed up to the game and it almost felt like the pack of fans and the families that were a part of this Florida State football team.
- 9:10SPEAKER_03: Um, it felt like we were one.
- 9:12SPEAKER_03: And I guess my question to you, without having to speak, I guess, too far, but but in game, do you see the the towels waving?
- 9:21SPEAKER_03: Do you see the pumped up sidelines?
- 9:22SPEAKER_03: Do you see um the intent behind uh uh supporting their teammates in every play that they do, or do you feel like uh, you know, maybe that's something that does need to be um uh attacked, I guess, a little bit.
- 9:36SPEAKER_00: Yeah, um, I think there's obviously like I'm always gonna say, like, yes, it can be better.
- 9:40SPEAKER_00: Because once again, we could be better at everything that we do.
- 9:43SPEAKER_00: Always can.
- 9:44SPEAKER_00: So, yeah, we can be way better at every single aspect of the program.
- 9:49SPEAKER_00: And Mike Norvell will tell you the same thing.
- 9:51SPEAKER_00: We can be better at everything, he could be better, you know.
- 9:53SPEAKER_00: It's and he'll be the first one to tell you, I need to be better.
- 9:56SPEAKER_00: And we always have so much room for growth, and I've realized that growth is so important um over these past two, three years, and growing is so so important, bro.
- 10:05SPEAKER_00: So, yeah, I think that there's there definitely can there's so much room for improvement there.
- 10:10SPEAKER_00: Um, but yeah, I do feel like they're starting to play for each other.
- 10:14SPEAKER_00: I mean, this weekend you saw it in Miami, bro.
- 10:16SPEAKER_00: I mean, I haven't felt I haven't been at a game where I felt like that in a long time.
- 10:24SPEAKER_00: Like it was fun.
- 10:26SPEAKER_00: Did you you felt like you were playing?
- 10:27SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I feel like I was part of the team.
- 10:29SPEAKER_00: Um, I mean, I I feel I mean I'm with them so much now.
- 10:32SPEAKER_00: I I am pretty much part of the team, but um, it was so cool to be on that field and watch the guys have each other's back and have Mike Norvell's back.
- 10:40SPEAKER_00: Um someone asked me a question along the lines of like, do you believe that the guys are still playing for Mike Norvell?
- 10:47SPEAKER_00: I mean, if you didn't watch that game on Saturday, go watch it and see guys playing for their head coach.
- 10:51SPEAKER_00: Um, and playing for the logo and the name on the front of their jersey just as much as the name on the back.
- 10:56SPEAKER_00: This is the first time in a long time, bro, that I've felt that.
- 10:59SPEAKER_00: Where it felt like they were representing Florida State University.
- 11:02SPEAKER_00: Yes, I'm not into moral victories at all.
- 11:04SPEAKER_00: And we can get into the ins and outs and the X's and O's in the game that hey, we should have had a chance that they win with that bull crap holding call.
- 11:11SPEAKER_00: Um, but they were playing for Florida State University.
- 11:15SPEAKER_00: It was Miami first Florida State, and it felt like two teams that love their university and they're playing for it again.
- 11:21SPEAKER_00: And it felt so good.
- 11:22SPEAKER_00: And like watching the the passion, like Ashton Daniels scoring touchdowns and throwing balls, and Deuce Robinson, obviously a big Florida State fan growing up.
- 11:29SPEAKER_00: But these guys were like fighting for gardening gold, and it was like it was it felt so good.
- 11:34SPEAKER_00: Um so yeah, bro, like I know we talk a lot about this team and Mike Norvell, and yes, everyone has their own opinions.
- 11:42SPEAKER_00: Um, I'm a Florida State fan at the end of the day, and I want to see Florida State win football games again.
- 11:47SPEAKER_00: But how they played on Saturday made me proud to be a Florida State Seminole.
- 11:50SPEAKER_00: And once again, I'm not into moral victories at all.
- 11:52SPEAKER_00: I've never been into moral victories.
- 11:54SPEAKER_00: And once again, we need to find a way to win that football game.
- 11:56SPEAKER_00: We should have won the game without having to go to overtime.
- 11:59SPEAKER_00: Um, but how they fought for us, I was able to walk out of that field with my head high, and there wasn't any canes fan.
- 12:07SPEAKER_00: And I was in the middle of probably 2,000 Keynes fans going over this little overpass, walking pass, and no one said a word to me.
- 12:15SPEAKER_00: And it felt so good.
- 12:16SPEAKER_00: It felt so good.
- 12:17SPEAKER_00: But obviously, woke up the next day.
- 12:19SPEAKER_00: I'm like, dang, we we still lost that game.
- 12:21SPEAKER_00: So I know they gotta respond.
- 12:23SPEAKER_00: Obviously, bye week this week.
- 12:24SPEAKER_00: Next week we play Clemson, bro.
- 12:26SPEAKER_00: And I think that this football team just got a little bit of confidence.
- 12:28SPEAKER_00: That I mean, obviously, we played Alabama tough.
- 12:31SPEAKER_00: This is a really good football team.
- 12:33SPEAKER_00: We are like a really good football team that has so much potential.
- 12:36SPEAKER_00: We just got to figure figure out a way to finish games, finish.
- 12:40SPEAKER_00: That's it.
- 12:43SPEAKER_03: Yeah, yeah.
- 12:44SPEAKER_03: I mean, you yeah, you you you said you you said so many th things while you were talking that you know, resident, my hair stood up, but you're right, you're spot on.
- 12:52SPEAKER_03: I mean, that that was the very first game that I have seen in this NIL transfer portal era that I absolutely can't stand.
- 13:01SPEAKER_03: Because, in my opinion, we got guys transferring from Florida to Florida State, from from Miami to Florida.
- 13:07SPEAKER_03: They're they're not real Seminoles.
- 13:10SPEAKER_03: We saw real Seminoles on the field for the first time with 21 and a half point underdogs, and sure, I'm not into Vegas and rivalry games and yada yada yada.
- 13:18SPEAKER_03: Florida State was the better team in that football game.
- 13:20SPEAKER_03: There's no question on Saturday.
- 13:21SPEAKER_03: Florida State was the better team.
- 13:23SPEAKER_03: Am I saying that Florida State is a better team than Miami?
- 13:25SPEAKER_03: No, I'm not.
- 13:26SPEAKER_03: Miami is ultra-talented and they survived an incredibly tough rivalry game against the hungry Florida State team.
- 13:32SPEAKER_03: I give them credit, they got the job done.
- 13:34SPEAKER_03: But but that was the first time I seen a Florida State team that looked like they cared about the name on the front of their chest a little bit more than the name on the back.
- 13:41SPEAKER_03: I got I gotta go to Miami though.
- 13:43SPEAKER_03: I gotta ask you, obviously, about those about those two plays.
- 13:46SPEAKER_03: I um I don't understand um really what happened.
- 13:50SPEAKER_03: I've seen the the debacle and the debate on social media.
- 13:54SPEAKER_03: Uh, I'll give you my uh very uninformed fan opinion very quickly.
- 13:59SPEAKER_03: Um the holding call, say whatever you want.
- 14:03SPEAKER_03: I don't really care.
- 14:04SPEAKER_03: I've never really seen a holding call during a Hail Mary.
- 14:07SPEAKER_03: I that this is just a fan.
- 14:08SPEAKER_03: Like you don't see holding calls in Hail Marys.
- 14:10SPEAKER_03: That's just the number one take that I had in watching that play.
- 14:14SPEAKER_03: Um, and then to move to the next one.
- 14:16SPEAKER_03: Um, I don't really understand the rule.
- 14:19SPEAKER_03: Um, I have seen a bunch of different angles.
- 14:21SPEAKER_03: I have no idea what Chat GPT, what's AI, and what's real.
- 14:25SPEAKER_03: Um, all I know is that they talked about dual possession.
- 14:30SPEAKER_03: The referee that made the call was looking underneath the pile at the end of the play.
- 14:36SPEAKER_03: He was never interested in dual possession early on in the play.
- 14:39SPEAKER_03: Of course, if he falls on his back with five Miami defenders around him, with the ball over his head.
- 14:45SPEAKER_00: So with the ball over his head.
- 14:46SPEAKER_03: Tell me, tell me.
- 14:47SPEAKER_03: Um take me to take me to the holding call.
- 14:49SPEAKER_03: I got another one.
- 14:50SPEAKER_00: Holding call number one is obviously we shouldn't even have to go to the second play.
- 14:54SPEAKER_00: That ref wanted to make an impact in a big time game, and he ruined something that could have been a really special ending to a game.
- 15:03SPEAKER_00: We still have to go for the two version, which if we go to go down and we lose by two points, like man, let's like, oh, let's give it to Miami.
- 15:10SPEAKER_00: But now we have to live with like, oh, what it could have been.
- 15:13SPEAKER_00: Now a ref just wanted to make an impact that throws a flag five seconds after the ball was thrown.
- 15:19SPEAKER_00: Literally, if you watch that clip, there's one flag and the ball's in the air.
- 15:23SPEAKER_00: I believe it hits the receiver's hand, and you see the flag get thrown after Ashton gets hit.
- 15:29SPEAKER_00: So everyone thinks it's gonna be a late hit on the quarterback.
- 15:32SPEAKER_00: But here comes a flag, and they call holding.
- 15:35SPEAKER_00: And mind it, I think that was the only holding call the entire game.
- 15:39SPEAKER_00: And that tells you a lot about a referee trying to make an impact at it.
- 15:42SPEAKER_00: Ball game, I mean.
- 15:43SPEAKER_00: Um we I hope we can find this uh picture of just one of the Desir twins getting absolutely like clotheslined and clothes lined, he's like the quarterback's right here, and we could attack on the quarterback, and we were closed, we were freaking out on the bench.
- 15:59SPEAKER_00: This is way earlier in the game trying to get a holding call.
- 16:01SPEAKER_00: No holding calls, you're not calling holding calls the whole entire game.
- 16:04SPEAKER_00: Okay, don't call holding calls the entire game.
- 16:06SPEAKER_00: Why in that moment, when a guy is losing his footing and you teach a uh tackles and lineman, if someone's losing their footing, it's not like a hold, but you're ripping him down, and it wasn't like a oh, he's not falling to the ground ripping.
- 16:20SPEAKER_00: He literally had him inside and brought him down.
- 16:23SPEAKER_00: So I think even Miami fans know that that call was absolute trash.
- 16:27SPEAKER_00: Um, obviously, the next play, Deuce goes up, the ball's in his hands, the ball's in the air for a second after it touches his hands, but the Miami defender does not have the ball in his hands.
- 16:38SPEAKER_00: You can see on the floor that the Miami defender does not have it in his hands, it's almost just sitting on his lap.
- 16:43SPEAKER_03: It was not in his belly.
- 16:47SPEAKER_00: And obviously, if you're gonna wait to see who has the ball at the end of the pile, it's not a fumble, it's a freaking catch or not.
- 16:54SPEAKER_00: And both of them had control, if you want to say it.
- 16:56SPEAKER_00: So I think Ashton Daniels threw for six touchdowns instead of four, and Miami has given up three touchdowns, passing touchdowns all year long.
- 17:03SPEAKER_00: Ashton Daniels had four or six, whatever you want to say.
- 17:07SPEAKER_00: Um, so I gotta give Ashton Daniels a lot of credit too.
- 17:09SPEAKER_00: Because once again, we lost the game.
- 17:10SPEAKER_00: But Ashton Daniels played his heart out, and I respect him.
- 17:13SPEAKER_00: There's been a lot of talk about Ashton Daniels lately.
- 17:16SPEAKER_00: Um, yeah, bro.
- 17:18SPEAKER_03: Uh, I'm happy for they they they can they they can say what they want about him, right?
- 17:23SPEAKER_03: Like ups, downs, left, rights.
- 17:26SPEAKER_03: Uh being a quarterback is the second hardest thing to do in all of sports.
- 17:29SPEAKER_03: I'm so enjoying it, and I love you today.
- 17:32SPEAKER_03: Uh but uh yeah, I mean, step in the box for you were scared.
- 17:37SPEAKER_03: Uh right.
- 17:38SPEAKER_03: Uh but but but but he he really has done an incredible job this year.
- 17:44SPEAKER_03: I have seen a ton of growth.
- 17:45SPEAKER_03: It looks like he's running the ball with a lot more passion and and and intent.
- 17:50SPEAKER_03: It looks like I heard uh Mike Dravel say in a pregame something in the week that he wanted him to be more decisive.
- 17:56SPEAKER_03: Like, if it's not there, tuck the ball and just go.
- 18:00SPEAKER_03: I saw it.
- 18:00SPEAKER_03: I thought he threw a ton of beautiful balls.
- 18:02SPEAKER_03: I thought the line played extremely well and back to the ref and officiate, and we'll move past this.
- 18:07SPEAKER_03: Um, in baseball, we say that that um I don't care if the umpire strike zone is crappy.
- 18:12SPEAKER_03: I don't care.
- 18:12SPEAKER_03: It is what it is, they're humans.
- 18:14SPEAKER_03: Uh, but the the best thing that we can ask for from an umpire, and the same thing goes in football, is the consistent umpire.
- 18:22SPEAKER_03: And if you don't call a holding call game, you don't call a holding game in a Miami, Florida State football game on a Hail Mary with no time left.
- 18:28SPEAKER_03: I'm sorry you just don't do it.
- 18:29SPEAKER_03: That's not consistency.
- 18:30SPEAKER_03: Sure.
- 18:31SPEAKER_03: I'm not saying that the refs were doing anything that would lead to cheating.
- 18:34SPEAKER_03: I'm just saying be consistent to what you do.
- 18:37SPEAKER_03: And they weren't, and man oh man, wherever that command center was, it looked like they had their mind made up really quickly.
- 18:42SPEAKER_03: There really wasn't much talk about what was going on in that play.
- 18:45SPEAKER_03: Um, um, it looks like we are gonna upheld the play.
- 18:48SPEAKER_03: That that's at least what I heard, and what a sad ending to a fantastic game.
- 18:53SPEAKER_03: And I tipped my cap to the Knowles and Coach Mike Norvella and everybody because um that was a Florida State football team that was playing with a little bit of this, and uh I'm proud of it.
- 19:02SPEAKER_03: So um how do you move forward from there though?
- 19:04SPEAKER_03: Like so we we do have a bye week.
- 19:06SPEAKER_03: Um I'm so interested, Jordan.
- 19:08SPEAKER_03: I for everybody that watches this podcast, I've said it before.
- 19:11SPEAKER_03: Like, dude, me and you don't we don't talk sports.
- 19:14SPEAKER_03: Like when I played, you never said a word to me about baseball.
- 19:16SPEAKER_03: It was like, hey Dev next game, are you okay if I suck?
- 19:19SPEAKER_03: Like that was it.
- 19:20SPEAKER_03: Um but I am interested, like how in baseball, right?
- 19:26SPEAKER_03: Like if you get swept, an off day is needed, like, oh my god, dang, we we need it.
- 19:32SPEAKER_03: Um, we have four losses to four ranked opponents, and we have one ranked opponent left moving forward.
- 19:37SPEAKER_03: So I'd imagine that we do have some positive stuff looking ahead.
- 19:41SPEAKER_03: But in this bye week, can you explain to me a little bit of like what this mood's like?
- 19:45SPEAKER_03: I'd imagine you were confused on Sunday.
- 19:47SPEAKER_03: Like, how do we lose that game?
- 19:49SPEAKER_03: But is this bye week needed?
- 19:50SPEAKER_03: Like, is this a good time for it?
- 19:52SPEAKER_00: Yeah, it's a bye week, but with Mike Harvell, bye week is yeah, you have a few days off, but we're gonna work on Tuesday, Wednesday, and possibly Thursday.
- 19:58SPEAKER_00: Um, so I know that guys got back and they got to work because once again, sitting at home and yes, rest in your mind sometimes is absolutely amazing.
- 20:07SPEAKER_00: But now we're so close, bro.
- 20:09SPEAKER_00: We are so close.
- 20:10SPEAKER_00: We need to get healthy in this week.
- 20:12SPEAKER_00: Obviously, uh Chroma, I mean, I'm praying for him.
- 20:15SPEAKER_00: That's the first time I've it brought tears to my eyes.
- 20:18SPEAKER_03: Are they ever gonna call hip drop tackle?
- 20:21SPEAKER_03: Like, like I don't know if it's a rule in college football or not, but I mean never see it called.
- 20:25SPEAKER_03: God, what what happened?
- 20:26SPEAKER_03: What happens in that what happens in that football game if we have chroma?
- 20:29SPEAKER_03: I mean, sure you can play the what if factor, and I'm sure Miami was banged up too, but man oh man, oh man, like that kid is so special.
- 20:35SPEAKER_00: I would say he's one of the best players I've ever seen.
- 20:38SPEAKER_00: Like with my own eyes.
- 20:39SPEAKER_00: Like he really is.
- 20:40SPEAKER_00: To be a sophomore in college, I've never seen someone with the balance, the strength, the the power that he has, and the way he hits holes, and it takes six guys to bring him down every time.
- 20:51SPEAKER_00: So I'm praying for him, bro.
- 20:52SPEAKER_00: He's a really special person, a really special player.
- 20:55SPEAKER_00: Um, but yeah, that was my first time being on the field and seeing some uh aircast being brought out.
- 21:00SPEAKER_00: It felt so so it was like a flashback and it was kind of crazy.
- 21:04SPEAKER_00: But uh, yeah, praying for him.
- 21:05SPEAKER_00: But yeah, bro, this bye week is big.
- 21:07SPEAKER_00: Um obviously they're gonna get some rest this weekend.
- 21:10SPEAKER_00: Rest of your mind, clear your mind, clear your thoughts.
- 21:13SPEAKER_00: But let's get back to work.
- 21:14SPEAKER_00: Um, next week, let's get back to work.
- 21:16SPEAKER_00: It's this is one of the first like times where I say this next game is the most important game every single game.
- 21:22SPEAKER_00: It's weird.
- 21:22SPEAKER_00: Like this Miami game, I'm like, this is the most important game.
- 21:24SPEAKER_00: We come out and play hard.
- 21:26SPEAKER_00: This Clemson game, Halloween weekend in Tallahassee.
- 21:31SPEAKER_00: There's nothing better than this.
- 21:32SPEAKER_00: This is the most amazing opportunity that these players have, and they have no idea.
- 21:35SPEAKER_00: Because this game right here, this is still Clemson.
- 21:37SPEAKER_00: Like, let's not forget this is Dabo, Sweeney, and Clemson.
- 21:40SPEAKER_00: Like this is a rival for us.
- 21:42SPEAKER_00: Like, it is.
- 21:43SPEAKER_00: It always has been.
- 21:44SPEAKER_00: It's not like Florida, Miami, but Clemson is always a big rival.
- 21:48SPEAKER_00: It's always Florida State first Clemson, and it's a big game.
- 21:50SPEAKER_00: Um, so seven o'clock game.
- 21:53SPEAKER_03: I mean, let's just get it straight.
- 21:54SPEAKER_03: Miami just got relevant as of recent.
- 21:56SPEAKER_00: So yeah, yeah.
- 21:58SPEAKER_03: Clemson's almost been a bigger rival.
- 22:00SPEAKER_03: Exactly.
- 22:01SPEAKER_00: So this is the opportunity.
- 22:04SPEAKER_00: We can win out.
- 22:05SPEAKER_00: We go eight and four for the rest of the year.
- 22:07SPEAKER_00: We have five games left.
- 22:08SPEAKER_00: And people are gonna say, hey, like they're gonna be excited for next year.
- 22:13SPEAKER_00: We haven't been able to be excited for next year too often.
- 22:15SPEAKER_00: We're almost like dreading the next year.
- 22:17SPEAKER_00: So let's win five games in a row, come out and get our minds right, and build this confidence in this football team that we see that we are a talented football team week in and week out.
- 22:25SPEAKER_00: We see amazing things every week and we see little flashes here and there.
- 22:29SPEAKER_00: Um, our defensive line is playing better, bro.
- 22:31SPEAKER_00: That's what I love to see.
- 22:33SPEAKER_00: Like these guys are playing better.
- 22:34SPEAKER_00: And that's what we needed.
- 22:35SPEAKER_00: Our linebackers are really talented.
- 22:36SPEAKER_00: I'm a big fan of our linebackers, always have been.
- 22:39SPEAKER_00: Um when you have defensive line that gets to the quarterback, you don't have those DB trying to cover for eight, six, seven, eight seconds, you know?
- 22:47SPEAKER_00: Um, so yeah, I'm excited for what's to come, bro.
- 22:50SPEAKER_00: I really am.
- 22:50SPEAKER_00: I know I know I'm positive and I always try to stay very optimistic and very positive.
- 22:54SPEAKER_00: Um, but yeah, I'm excited for the football team.
- 22:57SPEAKER_00: I am.
- 22:57SPEAKER_00: They I think they have a lot of potential and they still have a chance.
- 23:00SPEAKER_00: We have we have a chance to go get a bowl game, a cool bowl game.
- 23:03SPEAKER_00: And I mean, who knows?
- 23:04SPEAKER_00: You know, you know, you have no idea.
- 23:05SPEAKER_00: Go win out and dominate every football team, and we'll see what happens.
- 23:10SPEAKER_03: Well, go knows.
- 23:12SPEAKER_03: That's all I gotta say.
- 23:13SPEAKER_03: And I'm rocking for Mike Norvell.
- 23:15SPEAKER_03: And uh, we we are a positive uh Florida State podcast because sports are hard and no one has any idea what it's like, and it's easy to talk from the outside.
- 23:24SPEAKER_03: And man on man was Twitter live, but I'll stand on the freaking the top of the mountain and scream.
- 23:31SPEAKER_03: I'll rock with whatever guy is leading my army until he is gone.
- 23:34SPEAKER_03: So um save your sentiment because you can't do anything about it.
- 23:38SPEAKER_03: Go Mike Norvell and go Knowles.
- 23:40SPEAKER_03: Um top 25 um uh is like all nuts.
- 23:45SPEAKER_03: Um we got a brand new top five.
- 23:46SPEAKER_03: Yep.
- 23:47SPEAKER_03: Um Florida State gets beat by Miami, and now they're the number one team in the country.
- 23:51SPEAKER_03: BYU, Ohio State, Notre Dame, and Georgia.
- 23:54SPEAKER_03: But dude, what a crazy, what a crazy freaking week.
- 24:00SPEAKER_03: I mean, Auburn rolls into Georgia and they dominated the entire football game.
- 24:04SPEAKER_03: They're they're the better Auburn was the better team against the University of Georgia, who, in my opinion, I'm sorry.
- 24:09SPEAKER_03: I I think Georgia is the best team in the country, but you wouldn't know better than me.
- 24:13SPEAKER_03: Um Ohio State somehow, somehow, um uh they won, right?
- 24:18SPEAKER_03: Ohio State won.
- 24:19SPEAKER_00: Ohio State won against uh Indiana this week by four, which was a dead loss towards the end of the game.
- 24:25SPEAKER_03: It was a dot.
- 24:26SPEAKER_03: It was a dot, like like Indiana won the game, but like what like one inch, one inch, and they lost the game.
- 24:32SPEAKER_03: Uh the quarterback's hurt, though.
- 24:34SPEAKER_03: That's I don't know how they're gonna survive that.
- 24:36SPEAKER_03: I guess they got Jeremiah Smith.
- 24:37SPEAKER_03: You can just throw them screens all game.
- 24:39SPEAKER_03: Um BYU, what an impressive win.
- 24:41SPEAKER_03: Notre Dame um at home.
- 24:43SPEAKER_03: What a tough place to play.
- 24:45SPEAKER_03: Um, that was a super encouraging win.
- 24:47SPEAKER_03: I love Marcus Freeman.
- 24:48SPEAKER_03: I know you do too.
- 24:50SPEAKER_03: I would never want to play that defense ever.
- 24:52SPEAKER_03: Um but do you agree with the top five?
- 24:56SPEAKER_03: So we got Miami, BYU two, Ohio State three, Notre Dame four, and Georgia five.
- 25:01SPEAKER_03: Let me just make a quick comment.
- 25:03SPEAKER_03: How's Ohio State three if they lose their quarterback?
- 25:05SPEAKER_03: I don't want to make you know, talk about 2023, but I don't know.
- 25:08SPEAKER_03: It doesn't make sense to me how Ohio State can lose the starting quarterback and then number three in the country.
- 25:12SPEAKER_03: But who do you got?
- 25:13SPEAKER_03: Who's your top five?
- 25:14SPEAKER_00: Oh, I mean, you saying that right there, but uh I got Ohio State number one, bro.
- 25:20SPEAKER_00: I'm still bitter.
- 25:21SPEAKER_00: Ohio State number one.
- 25:22SPEAKER_00: Come on.
- 25:22SPEAKER_03: I mean, once again, without that quarterback, the wins in Vegas dropped to like nine and a half or something.
- 25:27SPEAKER_00: I said, I mean, my bit.
- 25:29SPEAKER_00: I I don't know, I don't trust Vegas.
- 25:30SPEAKER_00: My biggest thing is like, yeah, Ohio State, Indiana.
- 25:33SPEAKER_00: Like Indiana's still, to me, what are they six six and one right now?
- 25:38SPEAKER_03: Um, uh yeah, they're six and one.
- 25:40SPEAKER_03: Yep, they're sitting at number six, they were number five last week.
- 25:42SPEAKER_00: So I'll say Ohio State.
- 25:44SPEAKER_00: Uh I hate to say it.
- 25:45SPEAKER_00: Give me Miami at number two, obviously.
- 25:47SPEAKER_00: One, two.
- 25:48SPEAKER_00: I mean, that right there is close.
- 25:49SPEAKER_00: You know, it's it's close.
- 25:50SPEAKER_00: Miami this past week, and this is why I'm saying number two.
- 25:53SPEAKER_00: How they looked this past the over the overall the entire season, Miami at number one.
- 25:57SPEAKER_00: But give me Ohio State at one, Miami at two.
- 26:00SPEAKER_00: Number three, I mean, this is where it gets tough.
- 26:02SPEAKER_00: Obviously, Georgia, Alabama, they all lose.
- 26:04SPEAKER_03: You know, yeah, just start naming all the SEC teams plus number days, right?
- 26:08SPEAKER_00: I mean, at number three, I like Ole Miss, bro.
- 26:12SPEAKER_00: I'm a big Ole Miss fan this year.
- 26:13SPEAKER_00: Ole Miss is the quarterback.
- 26:15SPEAKER_00: Like, obviously, they go they go down and lose to Florida big.
- 26:19SPEAKER_00: Um, that's been their one bad game this year.
- 26:22SPEAKER_00: Every team has had one bad one bad game this year, you know, um, except for Miami or Ohio State.
- 26:28SPEAKER_00: Um number four, uh, give me Indiana.
- 26:32SPEAKER_00: Number five, just give me Georgia.
- 26:33SPEAKER_00: It's easy to stick around with those big teams.
- 26:35SPEAKER_00: Once again, it's one bad game.
- 26:37SPEAKER_00: It's hard to judge, and they better get their losses out early rather than late because we've seen what happens then.
- 26:42SPEAKER_00: If you lose in the SEC championship, then Georgia gets kicked out.
- 26:45SPEAKER_00: And I hate going back in the past, but Georgia was a top five, top four team that year for sure.
- 26:52SPEAKER_00: So was Florida State.
- 26:54SPEAKER_00: But yeah, they're losing early, bro.
- 26:55SPEAKER_00: But you know, it's it's kind of it's tough.
- 26:58SPEAKER_00: This is one of the weirdest college football years for the top 10.
- 27:03SPEAKER_00: BYU is good, but I just I gotta see a little bit more from BYU.
- 27:07SPEAKER_00: We've seen them in the past be really good football teams that just can't beat really, really good football teams.
- 27:11SPEAKER_00: Obviously, they beat Notre Dame, but we gotta see a little bit more from BYU.
- 27:16SPEAKER_03: I mean, I think BYU is a team that's really good at home, super tough place to play.
- 27:21SPEAKER_03: Quarterback those for 70 yards a couple weeks ago and then pops 325 the next week, and I didn't check the line this past week, but they're a tough, gritty team, and and and it've been fun to watch.
- 27:31SPEAKER_03: Ole Miss, you're right, Jordan.
- 27:32SPEAKER_03: I mean, last year with Lane Kiffin, like what a story that is, and and really it's kind of gone like pretty silent, I feel like, overall.
- 27:39SPEAKER_03: Uh, but Ole Miss is head coach this year, moves from DC.
- 27:42SPEAKER_03: Uh uh, he's like the interim head coach last year, uh, gets the head coach job this year.
- 27:47SPEAKER_03: He hasn't that team playing hard.
- 27:49SPEAKER_03: And that defense, uh, they've given up three points uh to Mizzou uh this past week.
- 27:56SPEAKER_03: That's a Mizzou team that just uh dropped like a 40 or 50 piece against Florida.
- 28:00SPEAKER_03: Um, and they give up 17 points on the road at Vanderbilt.
- 28:04SPEAKER_03: So obviously a really good quarterback.
- 28:06SPEAKER_03: The defense continues to get better.
- 28:08SPEAKER_03: I think that's a really, really, really good football team.
- 28:10SPEAKER_03: Um, I got Georgia number one, JT.
- 28:12SPEAKER_03: I'm just saying, dude, I never want to play Kirby Smart.
- 28:14SPEAKER_03: I love how he uh speaks about his players.
- 28:18SPEAKER_03: I love how there's never any panic.
- 28:20SPEAKER_03: Um I don't know, bro.
- 28:22SPEAKER_03: I don't know anything about football, and I don't know how you feel, but Kirby Smart, I feel like is like growing into what Saban grew into.
- 28:29SPEAKER_03: Like, I feel like I'm watching it live.
- 28:31SPEAKER_03: Uh like Kirby Smart, I feel like used to always like scream all the time on the sidelines and like absolutely go bananas.
- 28:37SPEAKER_03: And I watched him and he like admitted, like, hey, we're tired.
- 28:41SPEAKER_03: Like, this is gonna be a tough one.
- 28:44SPEAKER_03: Um, uh, in the Alabama-Georgia game, even if, even if we were to lose this game today, I'm proud of this group because the way that they prepared, they're living to the standard.
- 28:53SPEAKER_03: This is a well-fought football team.
- 28:54SPEAKER_03: One team had to lose.
- 28:55SPEAKER_03: Like, I love what I see with the evolution of Kirb Kirby Smart.
- 28:59SPEAKER_03: Um, and I'll never bet against Georgia.
- 29:01SPEAKER_03: And I think Alabama's good, Jordan.
- 29:03SPEAKER_03: I don't know how you feel, but that freshman quarterback, bro.
- 29:07SPEAKER_03: Not talked about enough.
- 29:08SPEAKER_03: Maybe he is, but um, but duty, he the yeah, man.
- 29:12SPEAKER_03: That that's a special young man.
- 29:14SPEAKER_03: He I think he'll win a Heisman one day.
- 29:15SPEAKER_03: I don't know how you feel.
- 29:16SPEAKER_00: But that's there's some good quarterbacks right now in college football.
- 29:18SPEAKER_00: There really are.
- 29:20SPEAKER_00: Um, and I'm a big Julian Saiyan fan.
- 29:23SPEAKER_00: I know everyone's like kind of like, oh, he has Jeremiah Smith.
- 29:26SPEAKER_00: But once again, man, I've seen quarterbacks that have really talented wide receivers not be able to get him the ball.
- 29:31SPEAKER_00: He finds a way to get him the ball.
- 29:32SPEAKER_00: It's hard when someone's double covered all the time to trust your guy and make throws that your guys can catch the ball in double coverage.
- 29:38SPEAKER_00: You still have to make that throw.
- 29:39SPEAKER_00: You have to throw it up high enough into a right spot where your guy only can get it.
- 29:43SPEAKER_00: And he does that so often.
- 29:44SPEAKER_00: So I'm a big Julian Saiyan fan.
- 29:46SPEAKER_00: I mean, we gotta talk about Arch Manning a little bit because I mean, he's he struggled, bro.
- 29:51SPEAKER_00: He started strong and now they're struggling.
- 29:54SPEAKER_00: Um, yeah, bro.
- 29:56SPEAKER_00: Uh let's get into Texas a little bit because Arch Manning, I mean, that offense and this is Texas football, bro.
- 30:03SPEAKER_00: They're playing, they're losing at home.
- 30:06SPEAKER_00: Um the talented defense, talented offense, and they just can't get it going, bro.
- 30:12SPEAKER_03: I mean, there's so much talent on that team, and I try so hard to root for Archie Manning.
- 30:19SPEAKER_03: I mean, I think about the pressure put on this young kid and having to live up to this standard of your last name on the back of your jersey.
- 30:27SPEAKER_03: Um, I think he's a good player.
- 30:30SPEAKER_03: I do.
- 30:30SPEAKER_03: I think he's a good player.
- 30:32SPEAKER_03: Um, but I think he's just a good college player, and and that's it.
- 30:37SPEAKER_03: And and and I I I don't, dude, I don't know football.
- 30:40SPEAKER_03: So this is just like the fan in me talking, throwing out random opinions.
- 30:44SPEAKER_03: And I've seen a lot of quarterbacks have uh not great college careers, but because of those ups and downs and the ebbs and the flows and getting punched in the face enough, it ends up turning into a a pretty good NFL career.
- 30:57SPEAKER_03: Um, I know he's still highly touted.
- 30:58SPEAKER_03: I know people still have him high up on their draft board, or I guess what would be their projected draft board.
- 31:03SPEAKER_03: But my opinion, he's had chances to win the game.
- 31:07SPEAKER_03: And if you are the best player on your team, and if you are going to be a quarterback that's gonna play in the NFL, if you get the ball with an opportunity to bring your team back to either win a game or tie a game to send it to overtime, the good ones that I see get it done, and he just hasn't had the ability to get it done up to this point.
- 31:22SPEAKER_00: Um, I think that bro, I I watch him and I just feel like he's so hesitant.
- 31:28SPEAKER_00: Um at some point, you just have to let the ball rip, you know, and yes, he does let it rip sometimes, and people are like, What are you doing there?
- 31:36SPEAKER_00: Um but bro, like number one, protect the football.
- 31:41SPEAKER_00: Yes, we know Arch Manning has to protect the football.
- 31:43SPEAKER_00: That's the most important thing for him right now.
- 31:46SPEAKER_00: Um but sometimes you have to trust what you see and let it go.
- 31:49SPEAKER_00: Um, and I wish a lot more quarterbacks would do that because I feel like we're so scared to make mistakes sometimes that we're scared to let the ball go.
- 31:57SPEAKER_00: Um, I think he just needs to build you were, right?
- 32:00SPEAKER_00: Yeah, for a long time.
- 32:01SPEAKER_00: For a long time.
- 32:02SPEAKER_00: Um, I think my last But how do you get over how do you get over caring about what people think anymore?
- 32:08SPEAKER_03: You know, throw a couple picks and say, so what?
- 32:11SPEAKER_00: Come to the sideline, you'd be pissed off a little bit.
- 32:13SPEAKER_00: But bro, like you know, like Jameis, I mean, is the most confident person in the entire world.
- 32:18SPEAKER_00: Interceptions, but throw for eight touchdowns, you know, and win the game.
- 32:21SPEAKER_00: Jameis's job is to win the game, and receivers love a quarterback that takes chances and say, Hey, I like my guy over your guy, and I'm gonna throw the ball.
- 32:30SPEAKER_00: You know, that's how Jameis thinks.
- 32:32SPEAKER_00: He likes his guys, he's their guys like, hey, my bot, my guy can make this play.
- 32:36SPEAKER_00: It's not 50-50, it's 75-25 or 90-10.
- 32:40SPEAKER_00: Jameis gives his guys a chance.
- 32:41SPEAKER_00: That's why his guys love playing for him.
- 32:43SPEAKER_00: So I think Arch just needs to let it rip, let it go, play aggressively, obviously protect the ball, um and handling pressure like people are bringing a lot of pressure on him, bro.
- 32:53SPEAKER_00: Like, find your hots, get the ball out quick.
- 32:56SPEAKER_00: Um, I think he'll be all right, bro.
- 32:58SPEAKER_00: I really do.
- 32:59SPEAKER_00: Um, once again, it's so hard playing, especially at a big university, playing quarterback and being a big name guy, he's trying to live up to so much hype.
- 33:07SPEAKER_00: I can't imagine how much pressure you truthfully have.
- 33:11SPEAKER_00: Um, no one has any idea.
- 33:13SPEAKER_00: They can talk all they want about him.
- 33:14SPEAKER_00: I can't imagine how much pressure he has, and it's hard.
- 33:17SPEAKER_00: I mean, a guy say pressure is a privilege, but how much pressure he has, I can't I can't even comprehend that.
- 33:22SPEAKER_00: So, yeah, bro.
- 33:25SPEAKER_03: Well, I hope he, I mean, I'm with you, dude.
- 33:27SPEAKER_03: I hope he figures it out.
- 33:28SPEAKER_03: And yeah, Steve Sarkeesian, arguably one of the best play designers in the world.
- 33:32SPEAKER_03: I I I do wonder if if Steve Sarkeesian at times maybe doesn't trust him, and Arch Manning, who's a smart young, young man, kind of feels it, and maybe that is why he's a little bit timid.
- 33:42SPEAKER_03: I don't know football.
- 33:43SPEAKER_03: I just watch a lot of Texas football and and um I hope he figures, I hope he I hope he figures it out.
- 33:50SPEAKER_03: So uh Jeremiah Smith though, George, have you ever in your life, I know you love Ohio State, have you ever in your your your your young life seen a more uh talented football player, more complete wide receiver prospect?
- 34:04SPEAKER_03: Um, if your team is drafting one overall and you need a quarterback, like all heck, are you saying, screw the quarterback and I'm going to get the next Megatron?
- 34:14SPEAKER_03: Or what do you got?
- 34:15SPEAKER_00: Yeah, once again, I said like when you have a player like that on your team, you always have a chance to win.
- 34:21SPEAKER_00: It's literally like Calvin Johnson, Randy Moss, like all these guys, like at this age that he's at, and the way he runs routes, his speed, his size, his hands, I mean, his body control to be that big is insane.
- 34:37SPEAKER_00: I mean, he is an insane football player.
- 34:40SPEAKER_00: Um, I wish Florida State got him.
- 34:43SPEAKER_00: We almost had but I'm I mean, I'm not enough.
- 34:47SPEAKER_00: I'm happy for him.
- 34:49SPEAKER_00: Um yeah, bro.
- 34:51SPEAKER_00: Um I mean he just uh he's the best player in college football, and I love Malachi Tony and Malachi Tony and it's a it's a very I don't care what people say, it is closer than people think.
- 35:02SPEAKER_00: Malachi Tony is a damn good receiver, too, bro.
- 35:05SPEAKER_00: Like it's a one-two punch at receiver.
- 35:07SPEAKER_00: He just it looks like he's playing basketball in the football field, like it's just smooth, just knows what his body control is insane.
- 35:14SPEAKER_00: But yeah, I'm taking Jeremiah Smith.
- 35:16SPEAKER_00: Does he ever drop a ball?
- 35:17SPEAKER_00: I haven't seen him drop a ball ever.
- 35:19SPEAKER_00: One handed catches, everything.
- 35:20SPEAKER_00: He made every um unbelievable.
- 35:22SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I'm taking Jeremiah Smith number one, without a doubt, no matter who the quarterback is.
- 35:27SPEAKER_00: Um, because once again, when you have a receiver like that, sometimes all you gotta do is just throw the ball up and say, hey, here's my guy, he's better than your guy.
- 35:34SPEAKER_00: You double cover him, we're gonna run the ball, we're gonna go to our other receivers.
- 35:38SPEAKER_00: So Jeremiah Smith, yeah, give me him at number one all day.
- 35:44SPEAKER_03: Um, just just just I gotta ask a quick pop.
- 35:46SPEAKER_03: If you could have one uh player, the the the best wide receiver in the draft or on your team, I'll just just go to fantasy football, for instance, in this situation here.
- 35:56SPEAKER_03: But think about it as a quarterback.
- 35:57SPEAKER_03: Um, would you rather have like the best receiver possible, or would you rather have the best running back possible?
- 36:04SPEAKER_03: If you can only have one, one or the other, what do you think depends who my team is.
- 36:09SPEAKER_00: If I'm the Chiefs, give me the bet, give me the best running back.
- 36:11SPEAKER_00: Like we got Kenneth Walker that's absolutely dominating.
- 36:15SPEAKER_00: Umce again, if you're a team that's like, for example, let's say the hmm, let's say the Lions.
- 36:26SPEAKER_00: Yes, they have great receivers right now, but that offensive line is just pounding, and you have Jameer Gibbs, who's the best running back in the game.
- 36:33SPEAKER_00: I mean that elevates the team because they could move him around and he can almost play your receiver at points, you know.
- 36:40SPEAKER_03: But bro, he's playing receiver right now.
- 36:42SPEAKER_03: He he's he lines up in the slot all the time.
- 36:44SPEAKER_00: So he can give me the best running back that can play this.
- 36:46SPEAKER_03: So or you know, I'm proud of you because it looks to me like you're stepping back from the world and you're in your uh like from your old world and you're starting to like take in all the beautiful things in life, like fantasy football, and good for you, Jordan.
- 37:01SPEAKER_03: You're right.
- 37:01SPEAKER_03: Yeah, it's over on there's like four and a half catches every week.
- 37:04SPEAKER_03: So yeah, he's basically.
- 37:04SPEAKER_00: I got them on fantasy, so he's helping me out.
- 37:08SPEAKER_03: Yeah, bro.
- 37:09SPEAKER_03: Yeah, baby back gibbs, baby.
- 37:12SPEAKER_03: All right, anyway.
- 37:13SPEAKER_03: All right, let's just keep it going with some NFL football.
- 37:16SPEAKER_03: Okay.
- 37:17SPEAKER_03: Uh, I'm gonna let you answer because I know what you know, but I'm gonna say uh I've been a lot of disappointing teams this year in the NFL.
- 37:26SPEAKER_03: A ton.
- 37:27SPEAKER_03: Um uh what team for you is like the team that you're like, how in the hell are they in the situation they're in right now?
- 37:35SPEAKER_03: The Chargers.
- 37:37SPEAKER_00: Um sorry, I sorry, Cam.
- 37:42SPEAKER_00: I mean, I know who you're gonna say, the Cowboys, but man, the Chargers, like you have Justin Herbert at quarterback who's been one of the top quarterbacks in the NFL over the past how many, how many years?
- 37:54SPEAKER_00: Um you have Mike McDaniel, McDaniel at offensive coordinator.
- 38:00SPEAKER_00: That's the problem.
- 38:02SPEAKER_00: Sorry, Dolphins.
- 38:03SPEAKER_00: Harbaugh as your coach.
- 38:05SPEAKER_00: And they're like watching them play football last year.
- 38:07SPEAKER_00: It's like you always felt like they had a chance.
- 38:09SPEAKER_00: And this year it's like I mean, what's going on?
- 38:14SPEAKER_00: I don't know.
- 38:14SPEAKER_00: Um I think that the offensive line needs to pick up their stuff.
- 38:22SPEAKER_00: I mean, because he's getting hit every play.
- 38:24SPEAKER_00: But they've always stunked.
- 38:26SPEAKER_03: But they but like really bad with it.
- 38:27SPEAKER_03: They stunk last year.
- 38:29SPEAKER_03: Or last year, maybe it was a couple years ago, but he always gets hit and somehow, some way, like he like always delivers dimes.
- 38:35SPEAKER_03: I mean, bro, it what what's his number one receiver?
- 38:37SPEAKER_03: Like Lad McConkie?
- 38:39SPEAKER_03: I think he's special, bro.
- 38:40SPEAKER_03: But uh isn't he like six foot?
- 38:42SPEAKER_03: He's not big, right?
- 38:42SPEAKER_00: Yeah, but he's so good.
- 38:43SPEAKER_00: I mean, he can't get in the ball because I mean if you he's catching the ball, bro, and I feel like guys are coming free within two seconds.
- 38:50SPEAKER_00: It's hard to get a guy the ball, and they know if I mean they could just play short routes the entire game underneath and get pressure on the quarterback, and your team has no chance.
- 38:58SPEAKER_00: So yeah.
- 39:01SPEAKER_03: I mean, I trust you.
- 39:02SPEAKER_03: I trust you.
- 39:03SPEAKER_03: I mean, I just uh I'm with you.
- 39:06SPEAKER_03: They okay, they are certainly, certainly, certainly the most the most disappointing team up to this point because uh they always were in games last year.
- 39:15SPEAKER_03: Like they're they're well coached, like you said.
- 39:17SPEAKER_03: They always can run the ball if you're playing under Hallball, Harbaugh, he is gonna force the ball down your throat.
- 39:22SPEAKER_03: And I I always defend Justin Herbert.
- 39:24SPEAKER_03: I mean, I I tell people that I'd rather have Justin Herbert on the Cowboys than Dak Prescott, and man oh man, he is um he has not really helped my case up to this point in the year.
- 39:34SPEAKER_03: I mean, the cowboys are just so disappointing, man.
- 39:39SPEAKER_03: They have all the money in the world, they get all these superstars, um, and it's just the same stuff, man.
- 39:48SPEAKER_03: I I don't know football, dude.
- 39:49SPEAKER_03: This is just this is the Florida State Twitter fan in me.
- 39:54SPEAKER_03: Uh it's frustrating.
- 39:56SPEAKER_03: Um uh I'm sure they'll figure it out.
- 39:59SPEAKER_03: I love the head coach.
- 40:00SPEAKER_03: I think he's great, I think they play hard, I think the defense is getting better.
- 40:05SPEAKER_03: Um, I think the Packers just completely own the Cowboys.
- 40:09SPEAKER_03: I I don't know if I remember us beating the Packers since I've really watched football.
- 40:14SPEAKER_03: Um, I can't stand watching um uh the Cowboys play on Sunday.
- 40:19SPEAKER_03: So we're gonna move on to a new and better topic.
- 40:22SPEAKER_03: Uh our cousin Joe Notto just came out with a new song, It's Pretty Good, and he talks about the Buffalo Bills.
- 40:29SPEAKER_03: Um, and my beautiful wife uh is a huge Chiefs fan, so you know that as holidays are approaching, we're always talking about the Bills Chiefs debate.
- 40:37SPEAKER_03: Um, Josh Allen does things that Jordan and I I like I feel like when I watch Josh, watch Josh Allen in the regular season, he looks at me like he's like the greatest quarterback of all time, and then he'll just like randomly do some stuff at times that makes me go, what the hell?
- 40:51SPEAKER_03: Um, I think that they like can win a Super Bowl this year.
- 40:54SPEAKER_03: And then I look on the flip side of the Chiefs, Jordan, I go, How the hell can you beat a Pat Mahomes-led team with Andy Reid with a real running back and Kenneth Walker?
- 41:02SPEAKER_03: Um, do you agree obviously that they're the two best teams in the AFC?
- 41:06SPEAKER_03: And if and if and if you do, do you believe that one of those two teams will win a Super Bowl this year?
- 41:11SPEAKER_00: Well, I think that this weekend say the Chiefs.
- 41:13SPEAKER_00: Let's start off with the Chiefs.
- 41:15SPEAKER_00: We'll be a big test for the Chiefs.
- 41:16SPEAKER_00: I mean, the Seahawks are a dang good football team.
- 41:19SPEAKER_00: The defense is really good.
- 41:20SPEAKER_00: Um, the offense is okay.
- 41:22SPEAKER_00: Um so this will be a big test this weekend.
- 41:26SPEAKER_00: They play the Chiefs.
- 41:27SPEAKER_00: Is it the Seahawks, right?
- 41:29SPEAKER_03: Yeah, and it's and it's it's in Seattle too.
- 41:32SPEAKER_03: So they got the 12th man.
- 41:33SPEAKER_00: So that'll be a big test.
- 41:34SPEAKER_00: But I mean, those two teams, bro, Josh Allen is a freak, obviously.
- 41:38SPEAKER_00: He's gonna make those plays like we talked about earlier.
- 41:40SPEAKER_00: He's gonna make those plays where it's like, wow, he's insane, but he takes so many chances that you'll say, like, what the heck are you doing sometimes?
- 41:47SPEAKER_00: Um, so yeah, but I think it's gonna be freaking a battle this year.
- 41:51SPEAKER_00: Um, um, you know, I I hope Holly is happy all the time, but I would love to see the Bills win a Super Bowl, bro.
- 41:59SPEAKER_00: I would love to.
- 42:00SPEAKER_00: Um for the sake of Buffalo.
- 42:02SPEAKER_00: Um Uncle Joe being from Buffalo, Jojo being a new Buffalo fan.
- 42:07SPEAKER_00: He likes to say whatever he wants, but he grew up a Dolphins fan.
- 42:11SPEAKER_00: Um confused.
- 42:14SPEAKER_00: Uh Floridians.
- 42:16SPEAKER_00: Yeah, bro.
- 42:16SPEAKER_00: I'm a I'll uh I hope the Bills can pull one out this year.
- 42:19SPEAKER_00: Keon Coleman has been absolutely balling.
- 42:21SPEAKER_00: He stepped up when Dion has got hurt, but I think Keon got a lot of hate last year.
- 42:28SPEAKER_00: You know, Keon gets a lot of hate because he he he's himself and obviously gets a lot of attention for being Keon Coleman.
- 42:33SPEAKER_00: He's not anybody else, he's not putting on a show.
- 42:35SPEAKER_00: Keon is Keon, but he put his head down this offseason, and I couldn't be more proud of him because he's a young man still.
- 42:41SPEAKER_00: Like people like to forget, like they forget.
- 42:43SPEAKER_00: Keon is younger.
- 42:44SPEAKER_00: What is he, 22, 23 years?
- 42:46SPEAKER_00: What's he 22, 23?
- 42:47SPEAKER_00: He's a young man, and it's like he's learning his way.
- 42:51SPEAKER_00: Um, he got a lot of attention last year for the personality that that he is.
- 42:56SPEAKER_00: Um, yeah, man, I'm so proud of him.
- 42:59SPEAKER_00: Um, you didn't hear anything about him this offseason.
- 43:01SPEAKER_00: He literally went ghosts.
- 43:02SPEAKER_00: You didn't see no commercials, you didn't see anything.
- 43:05SPEAKER_00: He you didn't see no videos of him working out, he just worked, and it's showing now, bro.
- 43:09SPEAKER_00: And he deserves it all because he's a really, really special person.
- 43:12SPEAKER_00: Um, so yeah, I hope the Bills can win it all.
- 43:15SPEAKER_00: And I mean, hopefully, yeah, just give me the bills, bro.
- 43:18SPEAKER_03: I know you don't want to hear that, but I ain't liking or retweeting.
- 43:23SPEAKER_03: If my wife listens to this podcast, you are not gonna set me up to get me in trouble.
- 43:28SPEAKER_03: I wish both teams the best, and I pray that the Cowboys can uh work some magic, but I do not foresee this happening.
- 43:36SPEAKER_03: George, the Rams are pretty disappointing too.
- 43:38SPEAKER_03: I mean, I know the man.
- 43:40SPEAKER_03: We um we used to we used to be like very supportive of the Rams um because of Jared Verse, but he's gone now, so we can tell the truth.
- 43:47SPEAKER_03: Um, I love Sean McVeigh.
- 43:49SPEAKER_03: I think that he's fantastic.
- 43:50SPEAKER_03: I listened to his podcast on the regular.
- 43:52SPEAKER_03: If you've never listened to a Sean McVeigh podcast, uh sit and listen to how that man speaks and leads and and and God His team always uh plays incredibly hard for him.
- 44:02SPEAKER_03: But two and four, no Miles Garrett, uh no Devontae Adams is the new kicker tear tears his ACL.
- 44:09SPEAKER_03: Um, I don't know how much of it you've been watching for me, like teams that play on the West Coast are like, see you later.
- 44:14SPEAKER_03: I don't really care.
- 44:15SPEAKER_03: Sorry, Cam, love you.
- 44:17SPEAKER_03: Uh, but that that Eastern to Central time, I can't stay up too late.
- 44:21SPEAKER_03: Uh okay, so anyways, Jordan, do you have any takes on the on the Rams or just uh they'll probably figure it out in the that's what I was about to say.
- 44:28SPEAKER_00: Um Mount East Stafford as quarterback, they have a bunch of vets.
- 44:32SPEAKER_00: Um Aaron Donald, I don't really.
- 44:35SPEAKER_00: I mean, Braden Fisk.
- 44:37SPEAKER_00: I mean, I don't want to sit here and Aaron Donald's one of the greatest that ever played the game, but if you don't play football for a few years and you come back, it's it's just different.
- 44:46SPEAKER_00: You know, working out in the gym is a little bit different.
- 44:47SPEAKER_00: I know he's had a few plays this year, but he hasn't been the old Aaron Donald that we know.
- 44:52SPEAKER_00: Um yeah, bro, I think that the Rams always figure it out.
- 44:56SPEAKER_00: Miles Garrett will come back, obviously.
- 44:57SPEAKER_00: He's he's injured right now.
- 44:59SPEAKER_00: Um I think they'll figure it out.
- 45:01SPEAKER_00: They got enough vets on that team, and that's what you need.
- 45:03SPEAKER_00: You just need leaders that have been through it, been through all the ups and downs, and yeah, I think they'll figure it out.
- 45:09SPEAKER_00: They haven't been who we thought they were.
- 45:11SPEAKER_03: That's what I love, Jordan, about the NFL compared to baseball and the NBA compared to baseball, is sure Aaron Donald's not gonna be the same Aaron Donald of 21 years old and then a number one pick out of I don't even remember where he went to school, but they value Aaron Donald just being in that locker room and the experiment experience and the talks.
- 45:33SPEAKER_03: And I think about a Braden Fisk, right?
- 45:35SPEAKER_03: Like, yeah, sure Aaron Donald doesn't move like he he used to, but his workouts, I'm sure, are gonna help uh Braden Fisk.
- 45:43SPEAKER_03: I'm sure his technique's gonna help Braden Fisk.
- 45:45SPEAKER_03: I'm sure um um him playing um in all these crazy environments in big games is gonna help Braden Fisk.
- 45:52SPEAKER_03: So I I just have so much um um appreciation for the NFL and the NBA because they they still do really appreciate um the veteran experience playing just player just being in a locker room.
- 46:04SPEAKER_03: So I love that about the NFL.
- 46:06SPEAKER_03: Uh Jalen Hurts.
- 46:08SPEAKER_03: Uh I know that it's something that we've followed.
- 46:11SPEAKER_03: I don't want to speak on it a ton.
- 46:13SPEAKER_03: I just know that that that I hope Jalen Hurts is okay.
- 46:18SPEAKER_03: He is one of my absolute favorite um athletes.
- 46:23SPEAKER_03: As much as I hate to say it, I hate Philly, bro.
- 46:25SPEAKER_03: I hate Philly, and I hate that LeBron went to Philly, and I'm sure that we'll talk about that too.
- 46:29SPEAKER_03: I hate everything about Philly.
- 46:30SPEAKER_03: Um, I love Trey Turner.
- 46:32SPEAKER_03: Um, Trey, I love you, and I'm so sorry, but I just don't like Philly.
- 46:36SPEAKER_03: Uh uh uh what do you got on Jalen Hurts, bro?
- 46:39SPEAKER_00: I hope he I hope he's yeah, it's hard to speak on something like that.
- 46:42SPEAKER_00: That's you know, I pray he's okay.
- 46:44SPEAKER_00: Like that's this is like it's bigger than football, bro.
- 46:47SPEAKER_00: And that's what I think we forget sometimes.
- 46:50SPEAKER_00: We get so caught up in sports, like blood clots in the lungs.
- 46:53SPEAKER_00: That's what I mean Nani Connie passed away of, you know, like it was like starting in her leg, traveled up to her lungs, and then goes to her heart.
- 47:01SPEAKER_00: You know, it's like this is no joke at a young at a young age, and I think it should have been handled differently, obviously.
- 47:09SPEAKER_00: Um, I don't know everything that happened, but Jalen Hurts had to stay up all night long, didn't get to sleep, and how to go play in a football game.
- 47:16SPEAKER_00: But at what point we have a blood clot that's superficial close to the skin, whatever they want to say.
- 47:23SPEAKER_00: A blood clot is a blood clot.
- 47:24SPEAKER_00: I mean, that is life-threatening.
- 47:27SPEAKER_00: I know they might say it was in his leg and it wasn't moving.
- 47:30SPEAKER_00: He just played a football game and after the football game it moved, and now he went on a flight and flew back from London, and now it's in his lungs.
- 47:38SPEAKER_00: He has blood clots in his lungs.
- 47:40SPEAKER_00: Like I just I'm not a medical professional at all.
- 47:45SPEAKER_00: But I mean, from what I've heard, it's like, what are we doing?
- 47:49SPEAKER_00: Um I mean I just can't mom.
- 47:53SPEAKER_00: After I got my surgery on my ankle farm, wouldn't let me fly home from freaking North Carolina.
- 47:58SPEAKER_00: We drove.
- 47:59SPEAKER_00: Um, and I was moving the entire time.
- 48:00SPEAKER_00: She had me moving, she had me doing this and that.
- 48:03SPEAKER_00: Um, so yeah, bro, I just don't know the ins and outs, but I just pray he's okay.
- 48:07SPEAKER_00: Um yeah.
- 48:11SPEAKER_03: Put the player first, and that's how it always should be.
- 48:15SPEAKER_03: And um unfortunately in sports at times, that's just not what always happens.
- 48:20SPEAKER_03: So um he'll bounce back.
- 48:22SPEAKER_03: He'll bounce back.
- 48:23SPEAKER_03: Um the games that happen internationally, George.
- 48:25SPEAKER_03: I never I know you never played in them.
- 48:27SPEAKER_03: I know I've spoken to some players that go and you know and play in the games that have happened in in Japan.
- 48:34SPEAKER_03: Um, I don't know.
- 48:35SPEAKER_03: I I don't know if you have a take on it.
- 48:37SPEAKER_03: I the players that I spoke to have said like it's a super cool experience, but it's exhausting.
- 48:42SPEAKER_03: Um, I know if you partake in in in any um activity on hard rock.
- 48:49SPEAKER_03: Uh I've heard that betting on football games that are out of the country is is extremely um uh it's it's just it's it's hard to figure out.
- 48:58SPEAKER_03: Um have you heard any or do you have any takes on what it's like to play international football?
- 49:02SPEAKER_03: Or I know it's cool.
- 49:03SPEAKER_03: I they're it's bringing football to a different country, it's great for viewership.
- 49:07SPEAKER_03: I love that the NFL and the in and and and Major League Baseball do it now, but um for me, I I can't imagine that as a player it has to be terrible and then to think about what it's like to bounce back the next week.
- 49:18SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I think that it I think that's tough.
- 49:20SPEAKER_00: Um I definitely understand like what we're trying to do is I mean, it's all about TV and money and fans and how much money can the NFL raise, but easy, that's my job.
- 49:31SPEAKER_00: I feel like them.
- 49:33SPEAKER_00: I mean, it's a hard flight, bro.
- 49:35SPEAKER_00: Fly into a game that's however long you're on the flight, eight hours, nine hours.
- 49:39SPEAKER_00: Um, I mean, if you don't get there early enough, then your body can't even adjust.
- 49:44SPEAKER_00: Like we saw that with the Rams early on this season.
- 49:46SPEAKER_00: Was it the Rams, right?
- 49:47SPEAKER_00: And they literally look so bad.
- 49:49SPEAKER_00: It looked so bad.
- 49:50SPEAKER_03: Was it the Rams?
- 49:52SPEAKER_03: Uh yeah, the Rams the Rams played in Australia.
- 49:54SPEAKER_03: Well, I think it was this past week, but I'm so I'm so messed up from Saturday with the Cowboys and or Saturday with the Knowles and Sunday with the Cowboys that I don't know what happened, bro.
- 50:04SPEAKER_03: What day is it?
- 50:05SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I just I feel like that's tough, bro.
- 50:07SPEAKER_00: And then after a game, you gotta fly back and get ready for the week to come and gotta allow your buddy that's that's probably the hard part, right?
- 50:13SPEAKER_00: That's that's the harder part, I would say so.
- 50:16SPEAKER_00: I mean, your body needs rest, and I feel like you're not getting a lot of rest when you're trying to adjust to a time zone.
- 50:24SPEAKER_03: Come over here to the baseball side, bro.
- 50:26SPEAKER_03: 162, 81 on the road.
- 50:28SPEAKER_03: We gotta bounce back and forth.
- 50:29SPEAKER_03: See you.
- 50:30SPEAKER_03: Football players build a little different, can't handle 17.
- 50:33SPEAKER_03: Or is it 18?
- 50:33SPEAKER_03: I don't know, whatever.
- 50:34SPEAKER_00: But we play 18, and like those 18s beat your body more than those little running the first base.
- 50:40SPEAKER_03: Well, that's I see.
- 50:42SPEAKER_03: I got respect for you there, bro, because I can I can barely walk in the playoffs.
- 50:46SPEAKER_03: Fred Warner yesterday.
- 50:47SPEAKER_00: Fred Warner was flying across the field yesterday and just smashing people.
- 50:51SPEAKER_00: We're watching it, and I'm like, I don't know how like there people get up from those hits.
- 50:56SPEAKER_00: It's like like you know, it's just different.
- 50:58SPEAKER_00: Smashing with his head over and over.
- 51:01SPEAKER_03: I love Fred Warner, but those refs I got questions once again.
- 51:05SPEAKER_03: It was they called the helmet to helmet, took it away, clear as day, they pick up the flag.
- 51:10SPEAKER_03: He there also was a helmet to helmet on the guy at the sideline.
- 51:13SPEAKER_03: I mean, it was straight helmet to helmet, no flag.
- 51:16SPEAKER_03: I mean, we got all these dang reviews that happen in sports.
- 51:19SPEAKER_03: I mean, why are we picking up flags?
- 51:21SPEAKER_03: If you can have like an auto-correct of like a first down marker, how can they not call down in the headset and say when they're talking in those 10 seconds?
- 51:28SPEAKER_03: Um don't pick up the flag.
- 51:32SPEAKER_03: He hit him right in the helmet with his helmet.
- 51:35SPEAKER_03: Somehow they picked that flag up.
- 51:37SPEAKER_03: Uh man, that was absolutely insanity.
- 51:40SPEAKER_03: Um, but the major league baseball playoffs are here, Jordan.
- 51:42SPEAKER_03: I know that you know I only watch Major League Baseball.
- 51:45SPEAKER_03: Um, Brewers versus the Rays.
- 51:48SPEAKER_03: Uh, I want you to give me uh your thoughts on that first.
- 51:51SPEAKER_03: Uh, although I know that you probably don't know one player on each team.
- 51:54SPEAKER_03: Come on, just give me something.
- 51:54SPEAKER_03: Y'all give me a couple of things.
- 51:55SPEAKER_03: I know I'm the Rays.
- 51:56SPEAKER_00: The Rays have C A M I E R O.
- 52:00SPEAKER_00: Is it Camille Junior Camonero?
- 52:05SPEAKER_00: Um yeah, I don't know nothing, bro.
- 52:07SPEAKER_03: Anyone else?
- 52:08SPEAKER_00: I mean, I probably know, guys, if you said up.
- 52:10SPEAKER_03: Taylor Walls, the shortstop, Florida State boy.
- 52:13SPEAKER_03: I mean, I'm rooting for him.
- 52:14SPEAKER_03: I I love the Rays.
- 52:15SPEAKER_03: Give me the Rays.
- 52:16SPEAKER_03: I like the Rays.
- 52:17SPEAKER_03: I I absolutely I I do.
- 52:19SPEAKER_03: I I I I'm not saying the Rays are gonna win.
- 52:21SPEAKER_03: You got the Rays winning.
- 52:22SPEAKER_03: I love it.
- 52:23SPEAKER_03: We're from Florida.
- 52:24SPEAKER_03: Um I want to talk on this because this is my this is my like passion.
- 52:31SPEAKER_03: I've been waiting for a World Series um with two teams and two organizations that play the game the right way.
- 52:40SPEAKER_03: Um, you know, uh I get it.
- 52:44SPEAKER_03: And and the game changes, and sure maybe I'm a little bit on the old school side because um it's the era in which I grew up playing the game, where um if there's a guy in second base with no outs, it's selfless baseball.
- 52:57SPEAKER_03: And if you have to bottom over and you're 7-8-9 in the lineup, uh that makes sense to me.
- 53:03SPEAKER_03: Um, if you have to hit behind the runner, like Mookie Betts did in the playoffs, which I loved.
- 53:07SPEAKER_03: I went back and talked to the kids um against the Brewers, and he moves off the plate, gets a fastball away, hits a simple ground ball to second base, moves the runner to third, Freddie Freeman drives him in.
- 53:17SPEAKER_03: Um don't get it twisted.
- 53:19SPEAKER_03: I think that the Dodgers, um, they're like an anomaly.
- 53:22SPEAKER_03: Okay, like they have every kind of player and they formulate a lineup and they're ran by uh a manager uh that does everything freaking right.
- 53:34SPEAKER_03: The Dodgers got swept by the Brewers, they're in the playoffs every year.
- 53:37SPEAKER_03: I think about all these, you know, how whatever run they're on.
- 53:41SPEAKER_03: Um everybody plays 162.
- 53:43SPEAKER_03: Uh, they play 180 every year.
- 53:45SPEAKER_03: And those 18 extra games or so, whatever that number is, over the course of five, six years, um, or if not longer, they played like an entire like longer seas, like a whole extra season than everybody in playoff games, which every baseball game is not the same.
- 54:00SPEAKER_03: A playoff game takes it out of you in a way in which you can't explain.
- 54:04SPEAKER_03: It's nowhere near like the regular season.
- 54:06SPEAKER_03: Um, so I tip my cap to the the Dodgers, and I'm not making any kind of nasty comment um toward them.
- 54:12SPEAKER_03: They play the game the right way.
- 54:13SPEAKER_03: Mookie Betts is my favorite player.
- 54:14SPEAKER_03: He's Mookie the Betts, for those of you who don't know.
- 54:17SPEAKER_03: Um they got beat by the better team and the hotter team.
- 54:20SPEAKER_03: But the Brewers, um uh I I mean, they're what are they?
- 54:25SPEAKER_03: 19th in salary cap, so they're on the on the back half.
- 54:28SPEAKER_03: The the Rays, we know that they don't ever play anybody.
- 54:31SPEAKER_03: They're 25th in salary cap.
- 54:33SPEAKER_03: They don't play their pay their guys like everybody else does.
- 54:37SPEAKER_03: Um, but I coached in the minor leagues 2021, 2022, and 2023 um with the uh Atlanta Braves, who I love dearly.
- 54:45SPEAKER_03: Um I would show up to the field, Jordan, when the Tampa Bay Rays, we'd play them in double A or AAA, or if I ever was in town, and I would watch their practice.
- 54:55SPEAKER_03: Like I made it a point that when the other team's hitting BP, I never watch.
- 54:59SPEAKER_03: Like I'm in on the computer studying pitchers, trying to figure out tips, how can I help our players?
- 55:05SPEAKER_03: When the Rays are on the field in that other dugout, I sit and watch everything that they do.
- 55:10SPEAKER_03: Um, they're uniform, though they're in sync.
- 55:13SPEAKER_03: I love Asian baseball.
- 55:14SPEAKER_03: Like everything that they do matters.
- 55:15SPEAKER_03: Everything that they do is done together.
- 55:17SPEAKER_03: Everything that they do is like step by step, and every step matches.
- 55:21SPEAKER_03: Absolutely love it.
- 55:22SPEAKER_03: That's the Tampa Bay Rays in a nutshell.
- 55:24SPEAKER_03: They just do everything right.
- 55:25SPEAKER_03: Um, sure they don't pay their players as high as everybody else does, but they develop their players, and players then go on and make their money elsewhere.
- 55:34SPEAKER_03: Like a ton of players, in which I'm sure you can find throughout the major leagues that I don't really do my homework on.
- 55:40SPEAKER_03: Love the love the Tampa Bay Rays.
- 55:42SPEAKER_03: They do everything right, they play the game the right way.
- 55:44SPEAKER_03: Um, they're 7-8-9 in their lineup, don't really produce a ton, but they they control the strike zone well.
- 55:49SPEAKER_03: They they play pretty damn good defense, they always have great pitching, they always have great game plans.
- 55:54SPEAKER_03: And let me tell you something a team that plays uh that throws strikes, um, has really good stuff, plays really good defense, runs the bases well, and gets timely hitting.
- 56:03SPEAKER_03: They're willing to sack a runner over when they need to, and they play for the name on the front of their jersey.
- 56:08SPEAKER_03: It's hard to find in Major League Baseball.
- 56:09SPEAKER_03: It's just the truth.
- 56:10SPEAKER_03: You got a lot of guys that play because they want to get rich, and I get it, they got families to take care of.
- 56:15SPEAKER_03: Um, but the Tampa Bay Rays do everything right, and I'm so happy that they're there.
- 56:19SPEAKER_03: Um, I dreamt of this World Series because on the flip side is Pat Murphy, um, the Milwaukee Brewers manager.
- 56:25SPEAKER_03: I got my first ever letter in my life from Arizona State when Pat Murphy was the head coach there.
- 56:30SPEAKER_03: You don't know this story because I don't know, you probably like weren't even born.
- 56:34SPEAKER_03: Um uh I always wanted to go to Arizona State as a young kid.
- 56:38SPEAKER_03: Um it was my dream program because they sent me my first letter.
- 56:41SPEAKER_03: I thought it was like so cool.
- 56:43SPEAKER_03: Um, Eric Cosmer committed to Arizona State.
- 56:46SPEAKER_03: So I'm like, oh man, I played against him since I was 10 years old.
- 56:48SPEAKER_03: Like I'm gonna I'm gonna be like Cosmer.
- 56:51SPEAKER_03: Um once again, it's the same exact everything, Jordan.
- 56:55SPEAKER_03: Like they they just play the game right.
- 56:59SPEAKER_03: It's it's refreshing.
- 57:00SPEAKER_03: There's not a ton of swing and miss.
- 57:02SPEAKER_03: If you don't get the ball to go forward, good luck.
- 57:05SPEAKER_03: Everybody says, oh, you need the home run to win in the playoffs.
- 57:08SPEAKER_03: Sure, it helps.
- 57:10SPEAKER_03: Um that's why the Dodgers win the World Series every year because they got guys that get the ball to go forward.
- 57:15SPEAKER_03: They pitch well, they play good defense, they run the bases well, they always have timely hitting.
- 57:18SPEAKER_03: Um, and they also have Shahe Otani and Freddie Freeman that can lead the yard and Max Muncie at any time.
- 57:23SPEAKER_03: Um, we're looking at two teams heading into a lockout, Jordan.
- 57:28SPEAKER_03: Like this is like um people were saying that the Dodgers did it on purpose, so they can say, look, uh some of the teams that pay less money can can win the World Series too.
- 57:37SPEAKER_03: Um man, this this is simply um uh a culmination of great coaching all throughout the minor leagues.
- 57:48SPEAKER_03: The minor leagues don't get enough credit um because all those guys played the minor leagues.
- 57:52SPEAKER_03: Um it's a great GM and a great owner who put the GM in a situation to go get the guys that he felt like were the right guy at every single position.
- 58:00SPEAKER_03: Um they obviously have Jacob Mizarowski, which is is arguably uh the biggest phenom in Major League sports since Paul Skins.
- 58:09SPEAKER_03: Um and they just do everything right.
- 58:11SPEAKER_03: I love Bryce Terrain to death.
- 58:12SPEAKER_03: I always felt like he was going to be a major league all-star.
- 58:15SPEAKER_03: Um and man on man, however great I thought he'd be, he surpassed all my expectations.
- 58:20SPEAKER_03: Um, absolutely love the team, Jordan.
- 58:22SPEAKER_03: Uh I love the Brewers, I love the Rays.
- 58:24SPEAKER_03: I really don't care who wins.
- 58:26SPEAKER_03: I hope it goes seven, and I hope people get a chance to sit back and watch what it's like to play real baseball because um Derek Cheater said it best.
- 58:33SPEAKER_03: Um it used to be the three absolutes, and maybe for some organizations it it still is.
- 58:38SPEAKER_03: But um there's only one game to play the uh one way to play this game, and that's the right way.
- 58:44SPEAKER_03: And we got two teams in this World Series that play the game the right way.
- 58:47SPEAKER_03: So I tip my cap.
- 58:49SPEAKER_03: Cleveland Indians, same thing with you.
- 58:51SPEAKER_03: You guys play the game the right way as well.
- 58:52SPEAKER_03: I love Steven Vote.
- 58:54SPEAKER_03: Um, but uh I I am so damn happy.
- 58:57SPEAKER_03: I am back invested in the game of baseball.
- 59:00SPEAKER_03: And if I can see more of this, I hope the kids sit back and watch.
- 59:03SPEAKER_03: Like sit back and watch this baseball because um if you want to make it to the big leagues, play like them.
- 59:08SPEAKER_03: Play like play like the guys that you're seeing on TV that are in this World Series right here because it's it's the way it's supposed to be done.
- 59:14SPEAKER_03: That's my spiel and all that.
- 59:16SPEAKER_03: Thank you so much for allowing me to get that off my chest, and we'll move on to LeBron James going to Philly.
- 59:22SPEAKER_03: Can't stand it.
- 59:22SPEAKER_03: Uh once again, I said I'm not the biggest Philly fans fan.
- 59:27SPEAKER_03: Um, but what do you got on the bond in Philly?
- 59:29SPEAKER_03: I'm aware where he at fan.
- 59:30SPEAKER_03: I ain't rooting for the Sixers.
- 59:32SPEAKER_00: Um, yeah, this is like the first team.
- 59:34SPEAKER_00: Obviously, I'm a big LeBron James fan.
- 59:36SPEAKER_00: This is the first.
- 59:36SPEAKER_00: Did you like my rant?
- 59:38SPEAKER_00: Did you like my rant?
- 59:39SPEAKER_00: It was great.
- 59:40SPEAKER_00: Great.
- 59:41SPEAKER_00: God, give me some love.
- 59:43SPEAKER_00: What you're talking about?
- 59:45SPEAKER_00: I know Mizarowski.
- 59:46SPEAKER_00: I know that picture he throws hard.
- 59:47SPEAKER_00: That's what I do know.
- 59:49SPEAKER_00: I don't know much about baseball.
- 59:50SPEAKER_03: God, I feel I feel refreshed.
- 59:52SPEAKER_03: I thank you, Cam.
- 59:53SPEAKER_03: I feel refreshed now.
- 59:54SPEAKER_03: Back to Philly, talk to you, Jordan.
- 59:56SPEAKER_00: Um, yeah, being a big LeBron fan, it's like one team where I'm just kind of like, like, why?
- 1:00:02SPEAKER_00: You know, he could have gone, ended his career.
- 1:00:04SPEAKER_00: I know he wants to win a championship, and whatever.
- 1:00:07SPEAKER_00: Cleveland, if he was gonna go anywhere, stay with the Lakers, Cleveland or Miami.
- 1:00:11SPEAKER_00: That was I would have been a big LeBron, bigger LeBron James fan, you know?
- 1:00:14SPEAKER_00: You want to end where it was a big part of your career.
- 1:00:17SPEAKER_00: I think that all these teams is kind of getting me to a point where I think LeBron James is the best player ever.
- 1:00:22SPEAKER_00: Don't get me wrong, he's my favorite player to ever play the game, but I I don't like the I don't I'm not a big fan of the move.
- 1:00:30SPEAKER_00: Um I like the Sixers before without him.
- 1:00:32SPEAKER_00: I'm a big Tyrese Maxie fan.
- 1:00:34SPEAKER_00: Um loved him.
- 1:00:36SPEAKER_00: Uh uh Joel Embiid.
- 1:00:39SPEAKER_00: I don't really know how I feel about Joel Embiid, but Tyrese Maxie is my guy.
- 1:00:43SPEAKER_00: Obviously, they got Jalen Brown now, LeBron James, Tyrese Maxie, Joel and B.
- 1:00:47SPEAKER_00: It's like they're building super teams, and uh LeBron is always going to the super team, which we I've heard people talk about used to defend the heck out of it, but this is getting to a point where it's like, come on, bro, like I get it.
- 1:00:59SPEAKER_00: You want to win a championship, but come on, LeBron.
- 1:01:02SPEAKER_00: Like, kind of went to the Heat, we've been with Giannis, and we wouldn't have said anything, you know?
- 1:01:06SPEAKER_00: Cleveland with Donovan Mitchell, and we wouldn't have said anything to stay with the Lakers, but I don't know, bro.
- 1:01:11SPEAKER_00: It's tough.
- 1:01:13SPEAKER_03: Yeah, I I mean it's tough for me too.
- 1:01:17SPEAKER_03: I I I I can't root for the Sixers.
- 1:01:19SPEAKER_03: Um, I don't know much about the game of basketball.
- 1:01:23SPEAKER_03: I I do get to to to to see uh Marcus Morris and Markeef Morris um almost every day um uh at work.
- 1:01:32SPEAKER_03: And I did ask them about Joel Embiid.
- 1:01:35SPEAKER_03: Um they said he's the best big, I believe.
- 1:01:37SPEAKER_03: I don't remember if it was Marcus or Markeith, uh, but they said that like when he is healthy, he is the best big in the game.
- 1:01:44SPEAKER_03: And they say it's like not even close.
- 1:01:46SPEAKER_03: Like what he can do on a court is he's the best big in the game.
- 1:01:50SPEAKER_03: That's what they say.
- 1:01:51SPEAKER_03: I don't know anything about basketball, and I hope they don't get mad at me for quoting it.
- 1:01:55SPEAKER_03: I don't know which one said it.
- 1:01:57SPEAKER_03: Um I I I don't know who's beaten them.
- 1:01:59SPEAKER_03: I do think that they're the favorite in the East.
- 1:02:02SPEAKER_03: Um I love Jalen Brown.
- 1:02:04SPEAKER_03: Um, I love how he's willing to share his opinions on things, in which sometimes people say athletes shouldn't speak much.
- 1:02:11SPEAKER_03: I I love it.
- 1:02:12SPEAKER_03: Um but um yeah, I I I don't know, man.
- 1:02:16SPEAKER_03: It just doesn't look right.
- 1:02:17SPEAKER_03: It's like his fourth or fifth jersey.
- 1:02:19SPEAKER_03: And for all of those people who love the transfer portal and NIL, you cannot speak because you love this.
- 1:02:25SPEAKER_03: Um, so don't dislike uh LeBron James for bouncing everywhere because you love this.
- 1:02:31SPEAKER_03: Uh but uh yeah, I I I I I can't do it.
- 1:02:35SPEAKER_03: I don't even have a team anymore, so I don't know.
- 1:02:37SPEAKER_03: Go everybody else.
- 1:02:38SPEAKER_03: Come to the Timberwolves.
- 1:02:39SPEAKER_00: I mean, Anthony Edwards, probably my I mean, him and LeBron are very close now.
- 1:02:44SPEAKER_00: Anthony Edwards is just like a you know, I like those players that just have that attitude, they just don't care.
- 1:02:49SPEAKER_00: They're athletes out there, they don't care who's in front of you.
- 1:02:51SPEAKER_00: I'm better than you no matter who you are.
- 1:02:53SPEAKER_00: And he has that mindset.
- 1:02:54SPEAKER_00: They just got Lonzo or Lamella ball.
- 1:02:57SPEAKER_00: Um so that's gonna be fun to watch.
- 1:02:59SPEAKER_00: I mean, that's gonna be the most fun team to watch in uh all the NBA.
- 1:03:03SPEAKER_00: You have two like just like very different people, very good football uh football players, very good basketball players.
- 1:03:11SPEAKER_00: Um I'm excited to watch them, bro.
- 1:03:15SPEAKER_03: I don't know.
- 1:03:16SPEAKER_03: Maybe Luca can carry the the Lakers.
- 1:03:18SPEAKER_03: I don't know, that'd be cool to see.
- 1:03:19SPEAKER_03: Luca seems to be better when he's on his own anyway.
- 1:03:22SPEAKER_03: So uh you got Wemby with the Spurs.
- 1:03:25SPEAKER_03: I mean, you always have the Thunder.
- 1:03:27SPEAKER_03: I don't know.
- 1:03:27SPEAKER_03: I guess basketball's gonna be really dang good.
- 1:03:29SPEAKER_03: I just can't wait to see who's gonna be like the face of this league when when LeBron is issued.
- 1:03:37SPEAKER_00: That's no question.
- 1:03:39SPEAKER_00: Wemby's the best.
- 1:03:40SPEAKER_00: Wemby's the best player in the NBA right now.
- 1:03:43SPEAKER_00: I mean, it's hard to even argue it.
- 1:03:45SPEAKER_00: I mean, he's got a defense, he can shoot at 7-5, he can dribble.
- 1:03:51SPEAKER_00: Um I don't think we'll ever see a player that's like him ever again.
- 1:03:56SPEAKER_02: Okay, okay.
- 1:03:58SPEAKER_02: Um, he ain't top of my guy LeBron James on my mountain rush now.
- 1:04:02SPEAKER_00: But he's only he's young still, he got a long time left.
- 1:04:06SPEAKER_03: Oh, sucks.
- 1:04:07SPEAKER_03: Well, Geordie, we love this part.
- 1:04:10SPEAKER_03: Uh, we get an opportunity to to bring back our weekend slate and and and and we get to talk about college sports and NFL and most importantly college football and and and where we are gonna decide to say that hey, I'm gonna beat you this week.
- 1:04:25SPEAKER_03: And I love the fact that this week we're gonna be able to like track, like not this week, this year, we're gonna track it, Jordan.
- 1:04:30SPEAKER_03: So I hope you did your homework because I'm always locked in.
- 1:04:34SPEAKER_03: ChatGPT has me locked.
- 1:04:36SPEAKER_03: Um, but this week we're gonna we're let's let's go ahead and and and pick uh who we got this week.
- 1:04:42SPEAKER_03: Um, I already know that I'm gonna beat you, so I'll let you go first.
- 1:04:45SPEAKER_03: Uh Ole Miss at Texas.
- 1:04:47SPEAKER_03: Um, Texas minus three and a half.
- 1:04:50SPEAKER_03: I feel like I know where you're going, and I'm probably gone.
- 1:04:52SPEAKER_00: Ole Miss.
- 1:04:53SPEAKER_00: I mean, I I always hear you always say talking about the underdog in the game like this when it's like less than three and a half or three, you always say take the underdog.
- 1:05:02SPEAKER_03: I say I say less than three, but I think in college it's like a little higher.
- 1:05:06SPEAKER_03: Like I feel like less than six, like that five and a half.
- 1:05:09SPEAKER_03: I feel like five and a half's like daring you to take the favorite.
- 1:05:12SPEAKER_03: So you got Texas, right?
- 1:05:14SPEAKER_03: Oh Miss Ole Miss.
- 1:05:16SPEAKER_03: I like to play in this game.
- 1:05:20SPEAKER_03: We gotta get like a like a like a like a dog pick too, like moneyline.
- 1:05:23SPEAKER_03: Like, yeah, you're we're even going against the spread.
- 1:05:25SPEAKER_03: We're taking Ole Miss straight up.
- 1:05:27SPEAKER_03: I absolutely love it.
- 1:05:29SPEAKER_03: Houston at Utah, Utah minus six and a half.
- 1:05:32SPEAKER_03: So they are the favorites at home.
- 1:05:34SPEAKER_03: Uh Houston, they've been a little bit up and down, but somehow, somehow they they do find a way to win those tight games.
- 1:05:41SPEAKER_03: Um they obviously did drop one uh a couple weeks back.
- 1:05:44SPEAKER_03: What do you got?
- 1:05:45SPEAKER_03: Uh Utah.
- 1:05:47SPEAKER_00: This one's tough for me.
- 1:05:49SPEAKER_00: Um Houston obviously being up and down.
- 1:05:51SPEAKER_00: I I mean I would say give me tough, bro.
- 1:05:56SPEAKER_00: Just give me Utah minus six and a half, make it fun.
- 1:06:00SPEAKER_00: Blowout Utah.
- 1:06:02SPEAKER_03: I mean, I guess we're gonna either win together or lose together.
- 1:06:06SPEAKER_03: I'm with you.
- 1:06:06SPEAKER_03: Utah minus six and a half.
- 1:06:08SPEAKER_03: I'll take the the home favorite.
- 1:06:10SPEAKER_03: I think they played really well at home.
- 1:06:11SPEAKER_03: Texas AM at Alabama.
- 1:06:14SPEAKER_03: Alabama minus 14 and a half.
- 1:06:16SPEAKER_03: They dropped uh back-to-back games.
- 1:06:19SPEAKER_03: Um, dude, the SEC crazy, man.
- 1:06:21SPEAKER_03: They had four teams in the top 10, seven in the top 15 a week ago, and this week they got two in the top 10, and they got five in the top 15.
- 1:06:29SPEAKER_03: So SEC's SEC seems to beat up each other quite a bit.
- 1:06:33SPEAKER_03: But Alabama at home minus 14 and a half.
- 1:06:36SPEAKER_03: I I'm rolling with Alabama.
- 1:06:37SPEAKER_00: I'm gonna, I'm a you know, before this podcast, I was gonna take Alabama.
- 1:06:40SPEAKER_00: Well, give me Texas AM.
- 1:06:42SPEAKER_00: That game is, you know, you always run into games in the SEC where it's like this team has been horrible all year, and they come out of nowhere, either make it close or win the football game.
- 1:06:50SPEAKER_00: Um, I love Keelan Russell, I think he's one of the best college football quarterbacks right now, and he's a freshman.
- 1:06:57SPEAKER_00: Um Ryan Williams is hurt, I believe.
- 1:07:01SPEAKER_00: Um Ryan Coleman.
- 1:07:04SPEAKER_00: Ryan Coleman Williams, sorry.
- 1:07:06SPEAKER_00: Give me Texas AM plus 14 and a half with the possibility to keep his game within three points.
- 1:07:12SPEAKER_03: Uh, you already see if I make the first pick, you just go the opposite.
- 1:07:16SPEAKER_03: It's typical.
- 1:07:18SPEAKER_03: Think about this though.
- 1:07:18SPEAKER_00: Like they Alabama did not look great last week without Ryan Coleman Williams.
- 1:07:24SPEAKER_00: And I at the beginning of the year I questioned him a lot.
- 1:07:28SPEAKER_00: I did.
- 1:07:28SPEAKER_00: I gotta be honest with you.
- 1:07:29SPEAKER_00: I questioned him a lot.
- 1:07:30SPEAKER_00: But he's played very, very well this season.
- 1:07:33SPEAKER_00: And last game, without having him towards what he got hurt in the second quarter, they look like a completely different team.
- 1:07:39SPEAKER_00: Um, so yeah, that's why I'm taking Texas AM.
- 1:07:42SPEAKER_00: I love going against you.
- 1:07:44SPEAKER_00: Yeah, good luck.
- 1:07:45SPEAKER_03: Good luck with the quarterback, bro.
- 1:07:47SPEAKER_03: If you like Texas AM, just just take the under and uh you'll be golden because if Texas AM wins this game, it's like 10 to 7.
- 1:07:53SPEAKER_03: All right, NFL week seven.
- 1:07:55SPEAKER_03: Chiefs at the Seahawks, Sunday night football.
- 1:07:58SPEAKER_03: Uh Seahawks are favorites at home, two and a half.
- 1:08:02SPEAKER_03: This one's tough right here.
- 1:08:03SPEAKER_00: And I know who you're gonna go with, but it is tough, bro.
- 1:08:06SPEAKER_00: The Seahawks defense is really, really good.
- 1:08:08SPEAKER_00: Obviously, Patrick Mahomes is the best in the world.
- 1:08:10SPEAKER_00: But can the Chiefs' offensive line handle the Seahawks defense?
- 1:08:14SPEAKER_00: I don't know.
- 1:08:15SPEAKER_00: Give me the Seahawks minus two and a half, which I've been cheering for the Chiefs all year, which I usually don't cheer for the Chiefs.
- 1:08:20SPEAKER_00: I've been a big Chiefs fan this year.
- 1:08:22SPEAKER_00: I don't know why.
- 1:08:23SPEAKER_00: Um, maybe because I hear the War channel on TV.
- 1:08:25SPEAKER_00: Um, but give me a Seahawks minus two and a half, which is not what I was gonna go with earlier.
- 1:08:32SPEAKER_03: I'm just not gonna say anything, but I'm gonna write my pick because if I just write it, I could say that like it's something something someone else wrote it.
- 1:08:39SPEAKER_03: That's my pick right there.
- 1:08:41SPEAKER_03: Let's see.
- 1:08:41SPEAKER_03: Yeah, can you read that at all?
- 1:08:44SPEAKER_03: Yep.
- 1:08:44SPEAKER_03: Yeah, I'm uh two and a half, whoever that team is.
- 1:08:47SPEAKER_03: I'm gonna actually um go with that team.
- 1:08:49SPEAKER_03: So uh Packers at the Lions, minus three.
- 1:08:52SPEAKER_03: Uh Lions have been an absolute disaster, and the Packers seem to be uh figuring things out with Jordan Love.
- 1:08:59SPEAKER_00: I mean, in Detroit, give me the Lions.
- 1:09:03SPEAKER_00: Um, yeah, the Lions have been so up and down.
- 1:09:06SPEAKER_00: You always say like Jared Goff is very questionable sometimes.
- 1:09:09SPEAKER_00: Give me the Lions.
- 1:09:09SPEAKER_00: I love Jameer Gibbs a lot.
- 1:09:11SPEAKER_00: Uh obviously, that receiving core is insane.
- 1:09:13SPEAKER_00: When they put things together, they are one of the best football teams in the National Football League.
- 1:09:18SPEAKER_00: So give me a Lions.
- 1:09:20SPEAKER_03: I'll go with the Packers in that one, man.
- 1:09:22SPEAKER_03: Plus three, the Lions defense all over the place.
- 1:09:25SPEAKER_03: I think over probably sounds like the best one in this game.
- 1:09:30SPEAKER_03: Um, but if you beat my Cowboys, I'll tip my cap and I'll just keep the train rolling.
- 1:09:35SPEAKER_03: I'll go Packers plus three, if not outright.
- 1:09:38SPEAKER_03: Uh Bengals at the Ravens.
- 1:09:40SPEAKER_03: Ravens minus two and a half is Long.
- 1:09:42SPEAKER_00: That's what I'm literally.
- 1:09:43SPEAKER_00: He has a chance to possibly practice and play this week.
- 1:09:47SPEAKER_00: Um Okay.
- 1:09:49SPEAKER_00: As of right now, we'll Hammers played last week.
- 1:09:52SPEAKER_00: Give me the Bengals.
- 1:09:53SPEAKER_00: Um that game's gonna be a close game.
- 1:09:56SPEAKER_00: As always, Bengals, Ravens.
- 1:09:58SPEAKER_00: Uh it's tough.
- 1:10:00SPEAKER_00: Um, give me the Bengals this year.
- 1:10:02SPEAKER_00: Um I'm I'm a big Bengals fan.
- 1:10:04SPEAKER_00: I'm a big Joe Joe Burrow fan, obviously Jamar Chase, and T.
- 1:10:07SPEAKER_00: Higgins is a very, very slipped on wide receiver in the NFL.
- 1:10:10SPEAKER_00: I know he gets a lot of he does get some credit, but he is a really talented wide receiver.
- 1:10:15SPEAKER_00: So give me the Bengals.
- 1:10:18SPEAKER_03: I'm with you.
- 1:10:19SPEAKER_03: Bengals, plus two and a half.
- 1:10:20SPEAKER_03: If the spread's under three, they're daring you to take the favorite.
- 1:10:25SPEAKER_03: God, well, I mean, we were together a lot.
- 1:10:27SPEAKER_03: I think that was four or six.
- 1:10:28SPEAKER_03: We were together.
- 1:10:30SPEAKER_03: Well, that was this weekend's slate.
- 1:10:32SPEAKER_03: So we'll see who gets off to the better start.
- 1:10:34SPEAKER_03: I'm coming for your head this year, and you don't live far.
- 1:10:36SPEAKER_03: Watch out.
- 1:10:38SPEAKER_03: Watch out.
- 1:10:39SPEAKER_03: Hey, we got a little fantasy recap this year, though.
- 1:10:42SPEAKER_03: That's pretty cool.
- 1:10:42SPEAKER_03: And something that's been keeping us busy since we did the show is our fantasy league, JT.
- 1:10:48SPEAKER_03: And uh my team is sucking, and I'm going straight downhill.
- 1:10:52SPEAKER_03: Um, I gotta be completely honest, Jordan.
- 1:10:56SPEAKER_03: Um, I have like four quarterbacks on one roster, I think.
- 1:10:59SPEAKER_03: Maybe it's three.
- 1:11:00SPEAKER_03: I auto-drafted in all three leagues.
- 1:11:02SPEAKER_03: I still have yet to pick up a guy on waivers, I believe.
- 1:11:05SPEAKER_03: Um, I do have a GM for my one team that's in the sleeper league with my uh all my all my buddies with at the Academy.
- 1:11:13SPEAKER_03: Um, and I got a 12-year-old running it for me.
- 1:11:16SPEAKER_03: Um, he's freaking Austin.
- 1:11:17SPEAKER_03: Uh awesome.
- 1:11:18SPEAKER_03: Go Austin.
- 1:11:20SPEAKER_03: Um, you got any good stories on fantasy though?
- 1:11:23SPEAKER_00: I have a 93%, 94% chance to win.
- 1:11:27SPEAKER_00: Second half, I need three and a half points, three point six points from Brock Purdy.
- 1:11:31SPEAKER_00: And literally he goes four for seven with like four 40 yards in the second half, 50, 60 yards in the second half, and I lost the game.
- 1:11:38SPEAKER_00: So now I'm three and three instead of four and two, which I'll be tied for first right now, or tied for second, which that's my craziest story last night.
- 1:11:46SPEAKER_00: I woke up this morning, I'm like, I had to have won.
- 1:11:47SPEAKER_00: All I needed was three points, and we got one and a half points.
- 1:11:50SPEAKER_00: I love Brock Purdy, but damn man, sucks.
- 1:11:53SPEAKER_00: Ramonde Ramon J Stevenson too, bro.
- 1:11:56SPEAKER_00: I'm like, he won the starting job this year, and after the first two games of fumbling, and he's gone straight downhill.
- 1:12:02SPEAKER_00: Sucks.
- 1:12:03SPEAKER_03: Yeah, I think he had a good week too, not this past week, but the weekend before, I think he had like 18 or 19 points.
- 1:12:09SPEAKER_03: But uh, yeah, the he's he's very, very up and down, super talented.
- 1:12:14SPEAKER_03: I got him on one of my teams too.
- 1:12:16SPEAKER_03: Um maybe I should look to trade somebody because it looks to me like I'm gonna have like a two and um, I don't know, two and eleven, two and twelve season if I don't make a move here soon.
- 1:12:25SPEAKER_03: Uh so I guess I'll have to figure that out.
- 1:12:27SPEAKER_03: My only bad injury so far was Nico Collins.
- 1:12:30SPEAKER_03: Um he missed a couple weeks, and I believe I lost both weeks in one league that he was out.
- 1:12:35SPEAKER_03: CJ Stroud's playing better.
- 1:12:37SPEAKER_03: I still believe in Houston, although I think they're two and four or whatever the case may be.
- 1:12:41SPEAKER_03: Um I love D'Amico Ryans.
- 1:12:43SPEAKER_03: I think he's a great coach.
- 1:12:45SPEAKER_03: Um, and um that's about it I got on on fantasy Jordan.
- 1:12:49SPEAKER_03: I got two kids now and um uh a job that keeps me very busy, and fantasy football is like the least of my priorities.
- 1:12:58SPEAKER_03: So uh good luck, auto draft.
- 1:13:01SPEAKER_03: Good luck, auto draft.
- 1:13:04SPEAKER_03: All right, Jordan.
- 1:13:05SPEAKER_03: We're showing viral moments of things that popped up this week in the crazy world of college football.
- 1:13:11SPEAKER_03: You gotta give me your takes on some of the stuff that you're seeing.
- 1:13:13SPEAKER_03: I think that I mean, a Texas fan, what are we doing?
- 1:13:16SPEAKER_00: Austin, he has credentials to get on the field after a game.
- 1:13:19SPEAKER_00: Um the problem with the world today is there's cameras everywhere.
- 1:13:23SPEAKER_00: And back in the day, about whatever my dad's time, he would say he would have been knocked out on the floor, and no one would have seen, and there wouldn't have been cameras everywhere.
- 1:13:32SPEAKER_00: Gets to a point where we're men, and you are walking up to another man's face and you're flicking them off with with guys that you know can absolutely destroy you.
- 1:13:43SPEAKER_00: You have no chance.
- 1:13:44SPEAKER_00: Man, look at it, look at it.
- 1:13:46SPEAKER_00: Um it's just sad.
- 1:13:48SPEAKER_00: It's sad that this is what the world has come to because this is what it's come to.
- 1:13:51SPEAKER_00: You have your phone out and holding it in someone's face and flicking them off.
- 1:13:55SPEAKER_00: Well, with players and men that are a lot stronger and tougher than you mentally, physically, it just gets to a point where it's pretty sad.
- 1:14:02SPEAKER_00: I mean, I had little kids this this week.
- 1:14:04SPEAKER_00: We were sitting at a tailgate, five-year-old, five-year-old Miami kids.
- 1:14:09SPEAKER_00: I am not joking, bro.
- 1:14:10SPEAKER_00: They were five years old and they were saying, if the Seminoles, and they're flicking us off as they're doing the war chant.
- 1:14:17SPEAKER_00: Well, the dad is videoing them laughing with his teeth.
- 1:14:20SPEAKER_00: And I'm just like, what are we doing?
- 1:14:22SPEAKER_00: I understand it's football, we have rivals, but what are we teaching our young men to be?
- 1:14:28SPEAKER_00: And I could see this guy doing this when he was a young man with his dad just encouraging it.
- 1:14:32SPEAKER_00: Um, so yeah, my kids definitely will not be doing anything like this one day, and I know Bo won't.
- 1:14:40SPEAKER_03: Um I've never seen this in my life at Winston State, uh, Winston Salem State.
- 1:14:46SPEAKER_03: Uh he was hand painting.
- 1:14:47SPEAKER_03: I don't know what those are.
- 1:14:48SPEAKER_03: Are those hash marks?
- 1:14:50SPEAKER_03: Um, I know that the AD apologize, but have you ever seen anything like this?
- 1:14:55SPEAKER_03: I think you're better.
- 1:14:56SPEAKER_00: He's doing three feet too, like he's walking out three steps.
- 1:14:59SPEAKER_00: I think at some point you just say we don't need hash marks, and we're just gonna go and guess.
- 1:15:05SPEAKER_00: It's awesome, honestly.
- 1:15:06SPEAKER_00: It really is awesome that he went the whole entire field.
- 1:15:09SPEAKER_00: I mean, how many hash marks is that of an entire field?
- 1:15:12SPEAKER_03: I a lot.
- 1:15:13SPEAKER_03: I think it's terrible, but I appreciate it.
- 1:15:16SPEAKER_03: It's amazing.
- 1:15:17SPEAKER_03: I appreciate it.
- 1:15:18SPEAKER_03: Find a way to get it done, baby.
- 1:15:20SPEAKER_03: You never know.
- 1:15:21SPEAKER_03: Look at him, look at him walking, look at him walking.
- 1:15:25SPEAKER_03: That is awesome.
- 1:15:28SPEAKER_03: So good, so good.
- 1:15:30SPEAKER_03: Oh man.
- 1:15:31SPEAKER_03: How about this one, Jordy?
- 1:15:33SPEAKER_03: I mean, a six-year-old.
- 1:15:35SPEAKER_03: Um yeah, he very well might be the next, might be the next area.
- 1:15:41SPEAKER_03: Look at that! Look at that, and he keeps his balance, no way.
- 1:15:45SPEAKER_03: Touch.
- 1:15:46SPEAKER_03: Oh my! Oh my.
- 1:15:48SPEAKER_03: I mean, if you're coaching this defense, how do you stop?
- 1:15:52SPEAKER_00: I'm gonna take my kid off the field first, and then tell him hey, we just got a team tackle.
- 1:15:58SPEAKER_00: Everyone has to jump on top of him because I mean, what do you do?
- 1:16:00SPEAKER_00: I don't think I can tackle him.
- 1:16:03SPEAKER_02: No, no, that's awesome.
- 1:16:05SPEAKER_02: Look at Pops running down the line.
- 1:16:07SPEAKER_02: Let's go, Tuddy.
- 1:16:11SPEAKER_02: Uh, it's so good.
- 1:16:14SPEAKER_00: All right, guys.
- 1:16:14SPEAKER_00: Well, thank you so much for tuning in to this episode and every episode of Travis Take Two.

- 1:16:26SPEAKER_00: Yeah, bye week.
- 1:16:28SPEAKER_00: Get ready for moles next week that we go mold.
- 1:16:30SPEAKER_00: Yes, sir.
