- 0:43SPEAKER_01: Welcome to week two and the games of the week with our Section 4 football analyst, Roger Neal.
- 0:50SPEAKER_01: Let it rip, Roger.
- 0:52SPEAKER_00: Thanks, Tim.
- 0:53SPEAKER_00: Well, let's take a look at some of the big games coming up in Section Four this weekend.
- 0:58SPEAKER_00: Let's start things off in class A.
- 1:01SPEAKER_00: UE's Tigers matching up against Horsez.
- 1:04SPEAKER_00: Horse had a big win to go to one and one last weekend.
- 1:08SPEAKER_00: They racked up almost 400 yards on the ground.
- 1:11SPEAKER_00: So they put a lot of yardage up on the board.
- 1:14SPEAKER_00: Now the Tigers had a tough loss against Maine Enwell in their opener too.
- 1:18SPEAKER_00: So that should be a very interesting battle coming up in action in Class A, Tim.
- 1:22SPEAKER_01: This is an early season rematch of last year's Class A championship game, which UI won 34-0.
- 1:30SPEAKER_01: Yui and Coach Bolino are looking for their first victory, and I'm sure Coach Hillman and the Blue Raiders would like nothing more to avenge the Class C I'm sorry, Class A championship game loss last season.
- 1:42SPEAKER_00: Let's take a look at uh Class B Main Enwell opening things up with that win over Union Endicott 14-0.
- 1:48SPEAKER_00: They used a big punt return, 80-yard return to break open a scoreless game and go on to get the victory.
- 1:54SPEAKER_00: This time around, they will face longtime rival Norwich.
- 1:58SPEAKER_00: That's going to be at Main Enwell.
- 2:00SPEAKER_00: Norwich comes in with a record of 1-1, and the Spartans are 1-0.
- 2:04SPEAKER_00: And anytime, Tim, these two teams go at it, it should be very interesting.
- 2:07SPEAKER_00: And certainly the edge, perhaps, maybe with Maine Enwell in their home stadium.
- 2:13SPEAKER_01: Whenever you hear Norwich versus Main Enwell, you can't help but think of the two coaches, Gallagher and Christie.
- 2:18SPEAKER_01: It sounds like a law firm.
- 2:20SPEAKER_01: Norwich scored 69 points last week and allowed zero.
- 2:25SPEAKER_01: Main Enwell shut out a very good UE team, 14-0.
- 2:30SPEAKER_01: I highly doubt there's going to be a zero on the board for either team for this game.
- 2:35SPEAKER_00: Another Class B team in action, Windsor.
- 2:38SPEAKER_00: They will be in action against a Class A team in Ithaca.
- 2:42SPEAKER_00: Windsor 1-1, but they had a loss to Shenango Forks in the uh game last weekend, and Ithaca has played just one game.
- 2:49SPEAKER_00: They are 0-1.
- 2:50SPEAKER_00: Anytime teams go out of their class in uh the enrollment situation, very interesting, and we'll see what Windsor can do on uh the slate against the Ithaca tip.
- 3:01SPEAKER_01: Windsor is coming off a tough loss in the Hogan Bowl with Shenango Forks.
- 3:06SPEAKER_01: That game could have gone either way.
- 3:09SPEAKER_01: Ithaca is an improved team, and they have a new stadium, Moresco Stadium, named after their longtime coach Joe Moresco.
- 3:17SPEAKER_00: Class C competition.
- 3:19SPEAKER_00: The Forks will be in action.
- 3:20SPEAKER_00: They're 2-0.
- 3:21SPEAKER_00: They will take on 0-1 Oneata.
- 3:24SPEAKER_00: And Tim, will the Forks again be a dominant player, not only in Section 4, but around the state?
- 3:30SPEAKER_01: The real coach, Neil, sorry, Roger.
- 3:34SPEAKER_01: And the Oneana Yellow Jackets should have their hands full with Shenango Forks.
- 3:39SPEAKER_00: Also coming up this weekend, Waverly plays at Newark Valley.
- 3:42SPEAKER_00: Waverly comes in unbeaten, 2-0.
- 3:44SPEAKER_00: Newark Valley a tough loss to Tioga in the opener, so they are 0-1 at Newark Valley.
- 3:50SPEAKER_00: So that should be a good showdown as well.
- 3:52SPEAKER_01: Waverly is a much improved program and just might challenge for the Class C championship.
- 3:58SPEAKER_01: Mark your calendars for the weekend of October 14th, 15th, when the Wolverines host Shenango Forks.
- 4:05SPEAKER_01: If Newark Valley can contain Joey Tomaso with a dynamic Waverly offense, the Cardinals can make it a very interesting game.
- 4:12SPEAKER_00: Class D Tyoga 2-0 record.
- 4:16SPEAKER_00: They have had a huge edge offensively, 82-26 outscoring the opponents.
- 4:21SPEAKER_00: And Harpersville Afton 0-1 will come in to match up against Tyoga in that one.
- 4:26SPEAKER_01: Tyoga is Tyoga.
- 4:27SPEAKER_01: I watched some of their game last week.
- 4:29SPEAKER_01: They have playmakers in all the ball handling positions, so they will be tough to defense.
- 4:34SPEAKER_01: The Harpersville Afton Hornets and Coach Garlets are going to need a strong defensive performance to beat Tyoga.
- 4:41SPEAKER_00: Also, uh, as we go on to eight-man football, Moravia puts their high-powered offense on display coming up this weekend.
- 4:49SPEAKER_00: They're 2-0.
- 4:50SPEAKER_00: They'll take on Trumansburg, and Trumansburg's unbeaten 1-0.
- 4:54SPEAKER_01: This should be a very interesting contest.
- 4:56SPEAKER_01: Both teams enter the game undefeated.
- 4:59SPEAKER_01: Both have scored a lot of points.
- 5:01SPEAKER_01: Moravia 92 in two games and only given up 14 points, while Trumansburg has scored 46 in their only game and given up eight points.
- 5:12SPEAKER_01: Something has to give.
- 5:13SPEAKER_01: With these two high-scoring teams and only 16 players on the field at a time, the officials better have their cardio up because you'll be running a lot.
- 5:30SPEAKER_00: They'll take on Whitney Point with an unbeaten record so far, too.
- 5:34SPEAKER_00: That should be an interesting game.
- 5:38SPEAKER_01: Both Watkins-Glen Odessa Montour and Whitney Point have not had any problem scoring points or holding their opponents in check.
- 5:45SPEAKER_01: In two games, Watkins-Glen Odessa Montour has scored 80 points and allowed only 24, where Whitney Point has scored 36 points in their only game and allowed only six.
- 5:59SPEAKER_01: Both teams are undefeated, but that will change this weekend.
- 6:02SPEAKER_00: All right, so no matter what, coming up this weekend, there should be some excitement on the football field.
- 6:08SPEAKER_00: Lots of good matchups all around Section 4, Tim.
- 6:11SPEAKER_01: Thank you, Roger.
- 6:12SPEAKER_01: Great analysis, as usual.
- 6:14SPEAKER_01: Take care.
- 6:15SPEAKER_00: You got it.
- 6:16SPEAKER_00: Thank you.
- 6:17SPEAKER_00: Thanks.
