- 0:00Speaker 1: Well, as we know, today is indeed Police Remembrance Day
- 0:03Speaker 1: and it is an opportunity to reflect on the ultimate

- 0:10Speaker 1: am really pleased to say that joining me on the
- 0:12Speaker 1: line this morning are two voices that I know you'll recognize.
- 0:16Speaker 1: It is the absolutely wonderful Waldo and Sue. Good morning
- 0:21Speaker 1: to you both. Yay go so good. It's so lovely
- 0:27Speaker 1: to hear your voices. How things going in Tasmania?
- 0:30Speaker 2: Bluddy? Now I'm apart from that love.
- 0:34Speaker 1: Are you missing us?
- 0:36Speaker 3: No, we miss you both, but we miss your poems made.
- 0:49Speaker 1: And do you know when I realized that it was
- 0:52Speaker 1: Police Remembrance Day, I thought, I remember when you had
- 0:55Speaker 1: read me a beautiful poem a couple of years ago
- 0:57Speaker 1: for Police Remembrance Day. And then Declan who works out
- 1:01Speaker 1: in our reception, said that you'd been in contact, and
- 1:04Speaker 1: I thought, oh, that's wonderful the way the universe works,
- 1:07Speaker 1: and that you'd given us a call to jump on
- 1:10Speaker 1: and delivered that amazing poem that you have got for
- 1:14Speaker 1: Police Remembrance Day.
- 1:17Speaker 2: But we can do a poem for you more often
- 1:18Speaker 2: if you are well.
- 1:20Speaker 1: Just we've got it. We actually do a math challenge
- 1:22Speaker 1: on a Friday now, so what a maths challenge? So
- 1:26Speaker 1: people have a go at a different maths challenge now
- 1:30Speaker 1: on a Friday. It's notthing a bit different, mixing it up,
- 1:35Speaker 1: you know, them having a crack at a at a
- 1:37Speaker 1: maths question and lots of people getting on board to
- 1:40Speaker 1: have a go at it. But we love having to
- 1:42Speaker 1: catch up with you guys. But Waldo, what do you reckon?
- 1:46Speaker 1: Do you think you could deliver that poem for us
- 1:48Speaker 1: for Remembrance Day Police Remembrance Day?
- 1:52Speaker 2: I certainly can because after I wrote it, the police
- 1:56Speaker 2: asked me could they use it? And then they unveiled
- 2:00Speaker 2: the police memorial at oh By No Road there and
- 2:04Speaker 2: that broke me up. It's Emboston Bronze on the police
- 2:08Speaker 2: memorial and it's called the Policeman from the Bush. Gwenywittson
- 2:15Speaker 2: was a family man, a fine policeman too. He loved
- 2:19Speaker 2: the job, his colleagues and was just like me and you.
- 2:23Speaker 2: We respected it all walks of life. No matter who
- 2:26Speaker 2: he met. You could meet a million people in your
- 2:29Speaker 2: life at Glenn. He won't forget. He touched the hearts
- 2:33Speaker 2: of all he met and many he had not. The
- 2:36Speaker 2: territory came to a halt the day Paul Glenn we shot.
- 2:42Speaker 2: His memory will never fade. He's always in our hearts,
- 2:46Speaker 2: a territory icon, he will always be a part. Then
- 2:50Speaker 2: people came from miles and miles and other countries too,
- 2:55Speaker 2: all here to pay their last respects for the copper.
- 2:58Speaker 2: They all knew the nt Aborigine gave him a secret name.
- 3:05Speaker 2: It is whispered now with great respect from sea to
- 3:09Speaker 2: desert plains, and the morals of this sad story to
- 3:14Speaker 2: which we can relate. There are many more out there
- 3:18Speaker 2: like Glenn. Please respect them. There your mates. Thank you, folks,
- 3:25Speaker 2: and thanks Katie. I'll put Sui back on.
- 3:27Speaker 1: Oh thank you Waldo
