Transcript
- 0:01[SPEAKER_01]: Welcome to the Mile High Huddle Podcast with your football priests, Chad Jensen, and Zach Kilerman.
- 0:08[SPEAKER_01]: Remember, Broncos Country is not a geographic location.
- 0:12[SPEAKER_01]: It's a state of being.
- 0:20[SPEAKER_03]: Welcome in everybody to this Father's Day edition of the Mile High Huddle Podcast.
- 0:25[SPEAKER_03]: I'm your host Chad Jins and with me my fellow football priest, Janome, you love him.
- 0:29[SPEAKER_03]: Zach, Kelvin, Minzack.
- 0:30[SPEAKER_03]: First of all, dude, have you had a good weekend, big duck.
- 0:33[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, it's been pretty, uh, I guess slower Chad and that's what we're going to have to get you stew for the next six weeks in Siltraining Camp.
- 0:39[SPEAKER_02]: So it's just adapting to the normal NFL off season.
- 0:42[SPEAKER_02]: How about you?
- 0:43[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, just kind of a relaxing, relaxing weekend, not much by way of news, obviously, but plenty of content still just kind of sifting through the aftermath of many camp and really just all the things that we learned over the course of the offseason training program, because it's officially in the books.
- 1:03[SPEAKER_03]: When they ended many camp a day early, thus ended the
- 1:08[SPEAKER_03]: entire offseason training program.
- 1:10[SPEAKER_03]: So that's been fun.
- 1:11[SPEAKER_03]: We got some stuff we're getting into tonight.
- 1:12[SPEAKER_03]: Guys, some quick alo's and blacks.
- 1:14[SPEAKER_03]: You also a fiesta good to see you, bro.
- 1:16[SPEAKER_03]: Happy father's day to you to pop a bear.
- 1:19[SPEAKER_03]: Everybody out there's pop a bear says happy father's day broncos country.
- 1:22[SPEAKER_03]: 14 and three plus plus plus plus plus we know what it means.
- 1:25[SPEAKER_03]: We all know what it means.
- 1:27[SPEAKER_03]: thank you pop a bear for the super chat before we even went live dude we're very grateful thank you pal uh rocks in the house good to see another deer member and superstar we got string guy saying it's nice to have the night off to not off of work to watch live
- 1:44[SPEAKER_03]: is keeping Jonathan Cooper a good idea, or does it hurt the culture?
- 1:48[SPEAKER_03]: Sean Payton is trying to build.
- 1:49[SPEAKER_03]: That's an interesting question.
- 1:50[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, we weren't really planning on talking too much about Cooper, but hey, it's on the mind.
- 1:55[SPEAKER_03]: It's on the mind.
- 1:56[SPEAKER_03]: Zach, what are your thoughts for for Raj?
- 1:58[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, Raj, happy father's day to you and everyone else in the chat is well, thank you for joining us tonight.
- 2:03[SPEAKER_02]: Hope you're having a good day off.
- 2:06[SPEAKER_02]: I don't think a culture is made by one player and certainly not by Jonathan Cooper.
- 2:11[SPEAKER_02]: Now, God forbid if this was Bonyx, the quarterback of the team, the face of the team.
- 2:15[SPEAKER_02]: If he went out and did these things in, yeah, there'd be a little bit of a black mark.
- 2:19[SPEAKER_02]: If you stand by him, but
- 2:20[SPEAKER_02]: Like I've been saying, Cooper is a nice player to have, and he's a great story from a seventh round pick, but he's not an necessity.
- 2:26[SPEAKER_02]: He's on a PS2, he's on a Zach Allen, he's not even a Nick Benito.
- 2:30[SPEAKER_02]: So when you have an expendable player like that, I don't know even if you stand by him, it's going to hurt you too much because his reputation's already tattered anyway, Sean Peyton.
- 2:38[SPEAKER_02]: From years and years ago, with Bounigate and everything else, if you get rid of him though, that would signal that you're cutting the cancer, so to speak, and you're not going to tolerate any sort of black marks on the team.
- 2:51[SPEAKER_03]: Man, it'd be one thing Zach, if it was still in the realm of a single incident, relegated solely to, he said she said, let it play out in a court of law, but boy, boy.
- 3:04[SPEAKER_03]: did Jonathan Cooper not do himself any favors by going and getting himself arrested exactly one week later for not only exact violating the protection order, but also getting new charges added to his deals.
- 3:21[SPEAKER_03]: there's a reason why the tonality changed and it went from we are aware of the matter and we are investigating to uh we're kind of disappointed here guys like I don't know what else to say we're going to continue to investigate so I could see it honestly Zach going either way yeah
- 3:38[SPEAKER_03]: If the Broncos weren't so deep and strong at outside linebacker, it might be different.
- 3:44[SPEAKER_03]: But I think, hey, man, you want to keep the vibes.
- 3:47[SPEAKER_03]: You want to keep as Raj brings up here the culture, the new image, not new, but the restored image.
- 3:54[SPEAKER_03]: that the Walton Penner group has worked hard and sacrificed and invested to bring back to the Broncos.
- 3:59[SPEAKER_03]: Like, it's not like this is all the sudden putting all that at risk, but it certainly doesn't look good.
- 4:05[SPEAKER_03]: It's a PR thing.
- 4:06[SPEAKER_03]: It's a domestic violence allegation, nevertheless, an allegation series, though it is.
- 4:12[SPEAKER_03]: So I could see it going either way, but the Broncos, I think spoke with their actions.
- 4:19[SPEAKER_03]: mandatory mini-camp saying yeah excuse don't it's not it's not you it's us you're not don't worry about it you take care of you like that's creating some distance and they didn't necessarily have to do that like he from what we understand he's available he could have gone didn't have court coming up for a few weeks yet Zack so like he could have been there they didn't want that around what they were trying to do
- 4:42[SPEAKER_02]: I think what you said Chad is the most important part here.
- 4:45[SPEAKER_02]: We're going to get this question a lot until there's a resolution with the Cooper situation, but we don't know all the facts.
- 4:51[SPEAKER_02]: And I don't know that the Broncos know all the facts.
- 4:53[SPEAKER_02]: The investigations are still playing out.
- 4:55[SPEAKER_02]: And as I've said before, and I think Chad would coastline this.
- 4:58[SPEAKER_02]: If it comes out that he was criminally in the wrong or legally in the wrong or whatever, then I think the chances of the Broncos moving on would be much higher.
- 5:06[SPEAKER_02]: If his name is cleared, that's a pathway for him to be on the roster in 2026.
- 5:11[SPEAKER_03]: true, like if the charges get dropped or he is not convicted or whatever, but even then Zack, that might preserve his standing with the team in the sense that maybe he doesn't get released, but he's still staring down the barrel of a six game suspension just for
- 5:27[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, again, be one thing if it was the one incident, but because there were now two incidents, it's almost, it's like a virtual guarantee he's going to get suspended.
- 5:36[SPEAKER_03]: And that violation typically that comes with six games.
- 5:39[SPEAKER_03]: You can appeal it, maybe wouldle it down to four, maybe in like the best possible case down to two games, but you're going to be without him for a stretch to open this season, no matter what.
- 5:51[SPEAKER_02]: I, it makes me angry.
- 5:52[SPEAKER_02]: I see comments.
- 5:53[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know, troll or not, new, new viewer or not.
- 5:56[SPEAKER_02]: Meco the dog saying defending coupe is crazy.
- 5:59[SPEAKER_02]: Believe no women pot.
- 6:00[SPEAKER_02]: Please go back, Meco.
- 6:01[SPEAKER_02]: If you haven't already, when this first came out, Chad and I were both very adamant in saying that if he does come out like these charges are actually in allegations or true, the book needs to be thrown at Jonathan Cooper.
- 6:12[SPEAKER_02]: He should be criminally held liable.
- 6:14[SPEAKER_02]: His career should be in jeopardy.
- 6:16[SPEAKER_02]: It's not what you're saying it is.
- 6:18[SPEAKER_02]: We're just kind of
- 6:21[SPEAKER_03]: I have no idea what that comment is about, but it is our obligation to say it's allegation.
- 6:29[SPEAKER_03]: We have to keep it within that context just because of liability issues and our platform, we have to keep a letter of the law.
- 6:39[SPEAKER_03]: But what he has been accused of is that the allegations and some of the
- 6:44[SPEAKER_03]: What would you call it, the evidence of the case that has come to light the nurses notes and all that stuff, it's pretty damning, it's pretty ugly.
- 6:52[SPEAKER_03]: And if it is that ends up being completely found truths act through court of law, you don't want your team associated with that.
- 7:01[SPEAKER_02]: No, you don't.
- 7:01[SPEAKER_02]: And I, meco's saying fair now, well, meco, maybe you shouldn't have made the comment and been so reactive in the first place.
- 7:07[SPEAKER_02]: We are right down the middle on this podcast.
- 7:09[SPEAKER_02]: We're just letting the investigation play out just as the NFL is and just as the Broncos are.
- 7:14[SPEAKER_02]: So, yeah, that helps.
- 7:16[SPEAKER_03]: Well anyway today though guys some some other hello's I see the princess Michaela's in the house.
- 7:22[SPEAKER_03]: I see Mike says I voted for Empress, but Princess works.
- 7:26[SPEAKER_03]: Empress would have worked yeah for sure.
- 7:28[SPEAKER_03]: Great to see Michaela with us.
- 7:30[SPEAKER_03]: Hope you're doing well.
- 7:31[SPEAKER_03]: Sue Gibson.
- 7:32[SPEAKER_03]: Howdy happy father's day to all in the chat Michael Davis.
- 7:35[SPEAKER_03]: What's up buddy?
- 7:36[SPEAKER_03]: Good to see you guys Todd.
- 7:38[SPEAKER_03]: a lot of the gang is here.
- 7:39[SPEAKER_03]: This is good to see.
- 7:41[SPEAKER_03]: Well, Zach, before we get to the main crux of tonight's content, the topic I wanted to talk about, let's see what's on.
- 7:48[SPEAKER_03]: The Princess Michaela's mind as she jumps in on the top rope and she wants to do with a very generous super chat top rope.
- 7:57[SPEAKER_03]: She's a legend.
- 7:58[SPEAKER_03]: And she knows it.
- 7:59[SPEAKER_03]: We love you, Michaela.
- 8:00[SPEAKER_03]: Thank you so much.
- 8:01[SPEAKER_03]: She says, I'm frankly tired of talking about Cooper.
- 8:04[SPEAKER_03]: I'd rather focus on other players on our team.
- 8:07[SPEAKER_03]: It's my birthday on Thursday.
- 8:09[SPEAKER_03]: Ugg, she says, hold.
- 8:11[SPEAKER_03]: I love my MHH people.
- 8:13[SPEAKER_03]: Well, I'm glad you mentioned that because
- 8:15[SPEAKER_03]: For I'm one of those guys that kind of relies on Facebook reminders for for for birthdays.
- 8:22[SPEAKER_03]: And I don't get on Facebook that much anymore.
- 8:25[SPEAKER_03]: So I'm putting this in the old I'm putting this in the phone right now.
- 8:30[SPEAKER_03]: So I can be sure to send Michaela.
- 8:36[SPEAKER_03]: a text that day.
- 8:37[SPEAKER_03]: We'll be on that night too, so that'll be fun.
- 8:38[SPEAKER_03]: But there's plenty of Kayla of other folks to talk about on this roster and speaking of outside linebacker and other reason why you don't need to be, you don't need to, we'll see how plays out in court, right, Zach?
- 8:49[SPEAKER_03]: But you don't need to be too long suffering in the Cooper sense because, man, Jonah, Ellis look good.
- 8:57[SPEAKER_03]: Q Robinson look like a man possess like of all the guys on that depth chart.
- 9:02[SPEAKER_03]: The one I'm the most excited about coming out of the offseason training program now is that besides obviously Nick Benito.
- 9:07[SPEAKER_03]: I'm talking about the depth guys is absolutely Q Robinson.
- 9:11[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, he's living up to the height for sure.
- 9:14[SPEAKER_02]: And again, like you said, it's the, the Broncos are in a good position.
- 9:18[SPEAKER_02]: So you can move on from Cooper without feeling too bad.
- 9:20[SPEAKER_02]: And you can even not sign Vaughn Miller and move on from Cooper and not feel too bad because of the depth you had or have on the roster.
- 9:27[SPEAKER_02]: And Michaela, first of all, thank you so much for the super second of all.
- 9:31[SPEAKER_02]: Early, early birthday wishes to you like Chad said, we'll be on the pot.
- 9:34[SPEAKER_02]: Thursday, we'll celebrate you then, but thank you so much.
- 9:36[SPEAKER_02]: And we love you just as much.
- 9:38[SPEAKER_02]: Thank you.
- 9:39[SPEAKER_03]: Very good to see you.
- 9:41[SPEAKER_03]: Hope you've had a great weekend.
- 9:42[SPEAKER_03]: We also have the lady slash queen, Diana Hendry, jumping in and also off the top rope.
- 9:49[SPEAKER_03]: These two ladies are just such dear friends and members of our community.
- 9:54[SPEAKER_03]: And we're looking forward to being.
- 9:56[SPEAKER_03]: Yes, the power company.
- 9:58[SPEAKER_03]: We're looking forward to seeing you guys at the meet and greet week three, Broncos Rams, Sunday night football.
- 10:04[SPEAKER_03]: It's gonna be an epic night.
- 10:05[SPEAKER_03]: It's gonna be an epic night.
- 10:06[SPEAKER_03]: So,
- 10:07[SPEAKER_03]: Lady D though, she says, hi Chad Zach and Scott.
- 10:10[SPEAKER_03]: Yes, indeed, Mr. Producers with us.
- 10:12[SPEAKER_03]: He is in the house.
- 10:13[SPEAKER_03]: She says happy father's day to everyone who's a dad, hit the like button, share and subscribe.
- 10:19[SPEAKER_03]: Glad to hear, she says, Jonah Coleman is doing better than expected.
- 10:23[SPEAKER_03]: So happy to see Bo Nick's back on the field.
- 10:26[SPEAKER_03]: Can't wait for the meeting greet.
- 10:28[SPEAKER_03]: I may change for life.
- 10:29[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, Coleman.
- 10:30[SPEAKER_03]: Man, Zach,
- 10:34[SPEAKER_03]: I've viewed him kind of as, all right, good to have some JK Dobbins insurance, right?
- 10:38[SPEAKER_03]: Like a guy you can plausibly plug in first and second down if you need him to and step in for JK Dobbins to come out of the offseason training program like he needs a role.
- 10:48[SPEAKER_03]: Like he needs to be part of what the Broncos are doing and he will.
- 10:51[SPEAKER_03]: So I wrote about this today, you know.
- 10:54[SPEAKER_03]: You look at what they were doing last season, Zach, and I've granted that was with Peyton calling the play, so this could slightly change with web.
- 11:01[SPEAKER_03]: But between Harvey and Dobbins Zach, they averaged 20 carries per game.
- 11:06[SPEAKER_03]: Up until that all changed when he was gone week 11 on Dobbins that is.
- 11:11[SPEAKER_03]: JK would get 15 Zach.
- 11:13[SPEAKER_03]: Harvey would get five carries on average through the first 10 weeks.
- 11:17[SPEAKER_03]: So if you look at it like 20s the magic number, they may be shoot for in terms of planned running back carries.
- 11:23[SPEAKER_03]: I'm not talking about receptions, plan running back carries.
- 11:26[SPEAKER_03]: Maybe it's not JK getting 15, maybe it's JK and this could help ostensibly keep him healthy.
- 11:33[SPEAKER_03]: Hopefully getting 10 carries.
- 11:35[SPEAKER_03]: And you work in, you know, you split that other 10 between Coleman and Harvey, but you've got to get Coleman some touches do this guy is a net positive out of the gates like fully NFL ready.
- 11:48[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, perfectly well said.
- 11:49[SPEAKER_02]: I agree with that.
- 11:50[SPEAKER_02]: I think if he does get those touches, he will go on to be one of if not the biggest steel from the 2026 NFL draft guy who might have been a second round prospect went going in the forefront.
- 12:01[SPEAKER_02]: I still can't get over the value of the Brock was got with Coleman.
- 12:05[SPEAKER_02]: First of all, Ziana, I guess, or second of all now.
- 12:07[SPEAKER_02]: Thank you so much for your generosity and
- 12:09[SPEAKER_02]: good to see you one third of the power company.
- 12:12[SPEAKER_02]: And to your point about Bo, not just on the field, but off the field, I saw something on social media.
- 12:17[SPEAKER_02]: It was the entire Broncos offense got together for like a boys day.
- 12:20[SPEAKER_02]: They were by the water on a boat or something.
- 12:22[SPEAKER_02]: But Bo is all smiles.
- 12:23[SPEAKER_02]: He was looking good.
- 12:24[SPEAKER_02]: It's so nice to see he's back in the fold.
- 12:26[SPEAKER_02]: And you can tell every single teammate around him, just resonates and responds to number 10 the captain of the team.
- 12:32[SPEAKER_02]: Thank you again.
- 12:33[SPEAKER_03]: And I just loved hearing what Mike McGlinchey said about like he recounted, hey, man, it was, hey, how bad was it to see Boneyx go through what he went through after the bills game blah blah blah.
- 12:43[SPEAKER_03]: And he's like, yeah, that sucked, but like we went through some, I mean, after I'm paraphrasing him, how hard we worked and all the sacrifices we made to get to that point.
- 12:54[SPEAKER_03]: the way that ball bounced in our favor, like we were right there.
- 12:57[SPEAKER_03]: So it was tough for us to have that rug kind of ripped from beneath our feet.
- 13:01[SPEAKER_03]: But seeing him back, this is McGlinchig in paraphrasing.
- 13:05[SPEAKER_03]: Haven't him in the huddle gives us a lot of quote unquote juice.
- 13:08[SPEAKER_03]: So that's...
- 13:10[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, it's just imaginable what having your franchise quarterback in the equation on the field.
- 13:15[SPEAKER_03]: Even though day one of many camp, he was limited to individual day two.
- 13:19[SPEAKER_03]: He took steps forward, did individuals act and a little bit of team in seven on seven.
- 13:24[SPEAKER_03]: So not full team didn't do the 11 on 11 stuff, but nevertheless, man, it's a raising of the ships, right?
- 13:31[SPEAKER_03]: He's that tied and it's good to have him back.
- 13:34[SPEAKER_02]: because it's not just what he does with his football ability.
- 13:36[SPEAKER_02]: That's great in itself, Chad, but he's just a winner.
- 13:39[SPEAKER_02]: He sacrificed his body to get the Broncos where they are.
- 13:42[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, he literally left it all out on the field.
- 13:45[SPEAKER_02]: And he just has that fourth quarter magic.
- 13:47[SPEAKER_02]: He just knows how to win.
- 13:48[SPEAKER_02]: He has the it factor.
- 13:50[SPEAKER_02]: That is infectious for players around Bow Knicks.
- 13:53[SPEAKER_02]: And that's why you're seeing the comments made about him.
- 13:55[SPEAKER_02]: Thank you again, Diana.
- 13:56[SPEAKER_03]: We love you, appreciate you so much.
- 13:59[SPEAKER_03]: And yeah, Mika, we welcome you.
- 14:01[SPEAKER_03]: Man, thanks for finding us.
- 14:02[SPEAKER_03]: Appreciate your comments.
- 14:04[SPEAKER_03]: And we want you to contribute to the conversation.
- 14:08[SPEAKER_03]: As I think this, I think Michael Davis says it pretty well right here, dude.
- 14:11[SPEAKER_03]: There's a tight knit pod.
- 14:12[SPEAKER_03]: Contribute where he can be mindful of everyone.
- 14:14[SPEAKER_03]: And welcome.
- 14:15[SPEAKER_03]: Those are pretty,
- 14:17[SPEAKER_03]: pretty easy strictures if you want to call them that.
- 14:19[SPEAKER_03]: But Zach, let's turn the page for a second.
- 14:22[SPEAKER_03]: Actually, one last thing before we get to this.
- 14:24[SPEAKER_03]: Let's grab two song fill, jumping in on Facebook, great to have you with us big dog, saying happy fathers day to all our dads out there.
- 14:33[SPEAKER_03]: Welcome, I made you for life, Broncos, for life.
- 14:35[SPEAKER_03]: Thank you, Phil, and right back at you big dog.
- 14:37[SPEAKER_03]: Hope you've had a great day and good to see you.
- 14:41[SPEAKER_03]: All right, Zach, let's get to some more roster talk.
- 14:44[SPEAKER_03]: So over the weekend,
- 14:46[SPEAKER_03]: I wrote an article six Bronco veterans and I'm going to add a little thing in common.
- 14:51[SPEAKER_03]: So these were all guys that were on the 53 man roster at some point this past season, but six guys based on the offseason training programs act, the additions, momentum, the way it's looking are not going to be on the roster week one.
- 15:05[SPEAKER_03]: And I want you to tell me if and where I'm wrong.
- 15:07[SPEAKER_03]: And the first one is Tyler Bade.
- 15:10[SPEAKER_03]: Now, some people at running back would pick a net with me there and say,
- 15:15[SPEAKER_03]: He was the guy that took precedent seemingly over Gillil McLaughlin because even though McLaughlin was on the roster last season he was basically a healthy scratch and all but one game until Dobbins got hurt then he started dressing.
- 15:29[SPEAKER_03]: Why during that whole time, but day was kind of backup third down back guy like it was mostly RJ on third down, but then he would come in and get a few reps on third down, et cetera.
- 15:40[SPEAKER_03]: But what people miss in that equation, aside from the fact that here comes Jonah Coleman and that kind of changes things, is that when the chips were down and all of a sudden, Dobbins has gone, but day didn't move up the depth chart.
- 15:51[SPEAKER_03]: He stayed exactly where he was.
- 15:54[SPEAKER_03]: It was all of a sudden, a Glofflin getting all the extra carries.
- 15:59[SPEAKER_03]: So from a running back priority perspective, I do think, and this is also based on what we saw what we heard throughout the offseason training programs act.
- 16:07[SPEAKER_03]: It's going to be Dobbins.
- 16:08[SPEAKER_03]: It's going to be Harvey Coleman, McLaughlin.
- 16:12[SPEAKER_03]: It's still up for competition, but nevertheless, McLaughlin being that fourth guy, then biday, then Cody Schrader.
- 16:18[SPEAKER_03]: So do you, you see biday making this roster?
- 16:21[SPEAKER_02]: It's like asking me if I want Melvin Gordon or Adam Troutman to make the roster.
- 16:24[SPEAKER_02]: No, I think you draft players like Jonah Coleman, so you don't have to keep players like Tyler Badey around any longer.
- 16:31[SPEAKER_02]: He was a guy that you had because you had nobody else, Chad.
- 16:34[SPEAKER_02]: You had him in the air where Marvin Mims was taking carries out of the backfield.
- 16:38[SPEAKER_02]: You don't need Badey anymore.
- 16:39[SPEAKER_02]: He doesn't do anything spectacular.
- 16:41[SPEAKER_02]: He's very much a jag, just another guy move on.
- 16:46[SPEAKER_03]: All right, let's get to number two here.
- 16:48[SPEAKER_03]: Lucas Crowell, and this is another one, I got a little bit of pushback, mostly on Facebook, but basically that, no, no, no.
- 16:56[SPEAKER_03]: If you're looking at the two incumbents beyond Ingram and Troutman, and how they fit with the two draft picks coming in this year, plus Caleb Loaner, the guy on the outside looking in, it's not Lucas Crowell, it's Nate Adkins, which I beg to differ.
- 17:09[SPEAKER_03]: But do you see Crowell making this 53?
- 17:12[SPEAKER_03]: After what you've seen so far, this off season?
- 17:15[SPEAKER_02]: No, same answer as running backs.
- 17:17[SPEAKER_02]: I think you draft jolly.
- 17:18[SPEAKER_02]: You draft Bentley.
- 17:19[SPEAKER_02]: So you don't have to keep players around like crawl any longer, Chad, a guy.
- 17:23[SPEAKER_02]: Again, who's not anything spectacular.
- 17:25[SPEAKER_02]: He's not overly powerful.
- 17:26[SPEAKER_02]: He's not overly tall.
- 17:28[SPEAKER_02]: He's not an overly good blocker.
- 17:29[SPEAKER_02]: He's not an overly good touchdown maker.
- 17:32[SPEAKER_02]: And I agree with cornbread and miss in the chat.
- 17:34[SPEAKER_02]: Crawl is cooked.
- 17:35[SPEAKER_02]: Badea is cooked.
- 17:35[SPEAKER_02]: These incumbents, Chad.
- 17:37[SPEAKER_02]: They were replaced by the draft class.
- 17:40[SPEAKER_03]: Man, health is a big part of this, too, right, as long as everybody stays healthy this summer, but Justin Jolie, he looked pretty solid, based on what we saw in the off season.
- 17:50[SPEAKER_03]: I'm not very high on Bentley making the roster.
- 17:54[SPEAKER_03]: I'm high on Bentley, I like his upside, I think he brings some potential.
- 17:57[SPEAKER_03]: I think he spends that his rookie year probably on the practice squad.
- 18:03[SPEAKER_02]: That's fine.
- 18:04[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, Caleb Loaner's also the other wild card here because I would rather gamble on Caleb Loaner, because there's at least something he does well.
- 18:11[SPEAKER_02]: He's super tall.
- 18:12[SPEAKER_02]: And he made touchdowns in college.
- 18:13[SPEAKER_02]: So on that basis alone, I'd rather gamble on his upside than whatever's left of Lucas Crawl's upside.
- 18:20[SPEAKER_03]: All right, Zach, let's get back to the conversation at hand.
- 18:23[SPEAKER_03]: We've gone through two of these six veterans.
- 18:25[SPEAKER_03]: I don't think it's going to be there.
- 18:26[SPEAKER_03]: Come week one.
- 18:27[SPEAKER_03]: Let's get to the third one.
- 18:29[SPEAKER_03]: And that is unfortunately a little Jordan Humphrey.
- 18:32[SPEAKER_03]: Now, I do remain very open to the possibilities act that Humphrey could still find his way onto the 53 at some point in this season.
- 18:42[SPEAKER_03]: I'm talking out of camp, you know, as of week one, not on the roster.
- 18:46[SPEAKER_03]: And even then, if they choose to keep six wide receivers, which is possible, I doubt it, but it's possible.
- 18:52[SPEAKER_03]: You got to view little Jordan Humphrey as the leader in the clubhouse if they keep six, but I don't think they will.
- 18:57[SPEAKER_03]: And because they're probably only going to keep five, I don't see little Jordan Humphrey making a plus Zach, you got a keen Butler coming in and a bunch of motivated, undrafted rookies,
- 19:09[SPEAKER_02]: Please, it came save us from the nightmare that is Little Jordan Humphrey.
- 19:14[SPEAKER_02]: If it was up to me, Chad, I don't know.
- 19:15[SPEAKER_02]: You're asking what I think the Brock was will do, but first is what I think they should do.
- 19:20[SPEAKER_02]: I think they should move on from Little Jordan Humphrey, but Sean Payton loves him.
- 19:24[SPEAKER_02]: Some L.J.A., just like he loves him, some Adam Trautman.
- 19:27[SPEAKER_02]: I would put it entirely at 50, 50.
- 19:29[SPEAKER_02]: If a King Butler shows any sort of spark.
- 19:32[SPEAKER_02]: because he was the two-time UFL player or offensive player of the year, whatever Chad receptions leader, Yada Yada, she shows any sort of spark and upside.
- 19:39[SPEAKER_02]: I think they'll put him in that big slot receiving role and kick L.J.
- 19:43[SPEAKER_02]: H to where he belongs, and that's back to the unemployment line.
- 19:46[SPEAKER_03]: including raining, right, he's the reigning UFC offensive player there.
- 19:50[SPEAKER_03]: All right, Jordan Jackson's act.
- 19:52[SPEAKER_03]: Some Broncos fans go, who?
- 19:54[SPEAKER_03]: What?
- 19:54[SPEAKER_03]: A lot of Broncos fans forget this dude's been on the 53 men roster as a defensive lineman.
- 20:00[SPEAKER_03]: Two years in a row, including last season.
- 20:02[SPEAKER_03]: He was the seventh guy.
- 20:03[SPEAKER_03]: This time around those act.
- 20:05[SPEAKER_03]: I don't think he's making it.
- 20:06[SPEAKER_03]: I think Matt Henningson is going to unseat him because Henningson looked like a man possessed in minicam.
- 20:12[SPEAKER_03]: Now granted,
- 20:16[SPEAKER_03]: translate that momentum into training camp when the pads go on.
- 20:19[SPEAKER_03]: That's when you really start to see what's what on the defensive line.
- 20:22[SPEAKER_03]: But I don't I think this is the year Jackson officially kind of burns off.
- 20:26[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, he's a member like D Sean Williams hang around.
- 20:30[SPEAKER_02]: I know he became a starter, but this is a appear backup type player who only hung around because they didn't have better depth at the position.
- 20:37[SPEAKER_02]: Now they do they can afford to to serve him as walking papers and like you chat.
- 20:41[SPEAKER_02]: I don't
- 20:45[SPEAKER_03]: All right, two more here, Zach.
- 20:46[SPEAKER_03]: And if there's any, I miss that you want to assert by all means.
- 20:49[SPEAKER_03]: We should brainstorm, and that goes for the chat as well.
- 20:52[SPEAKER_03]: Level Bailey, now granted, there's a little asterisk here because Bailey did make the 53-man roster out of camp his rookie year, 2024.
- 21:01[SPEAKER_03]: Last year, he did not.
- 21:02[SPEAKER_03]: He was unseated by Carina Reed.
- 21:04[SPEAKER_03]: But he did find his way onto the roster through elevations, and then later in the season as an actual promoted to the 53 guy.
- 21:15[SPEAKER_03]: Not only is he dealing with Murdoch, Red Murdoch, an actual draft pick, but you've got several other recent undrafted rookies who also spent time on the 53-arty mention read, but also Jordan Turner, who's more of a traditional stack linebacker in the Broncos like him a lot, and then Tory and York who has still quite a lot of buzz and hype going for him going into the summer.
- 21:37[SPEAKER_03]: Do you see Level Bailey on this 53-man roster when the dust settles week one?
- 21:41[SPEAKER_02]: probably not.
- 21:42[SPEAKER_02]: Although I feel like the Broncos never gave Bailey a fair shake and extended opportunity because he had that pick six and his first preseason games in each hat or some the last preseason game has rookie year.
- 21:54[SPEAKER_03]: That was like the icing on the cake that got on the roster spot.
- 21:57[SPEAKER_02]: Perfect.
- 21:57[SPEAKER_02]: So that's that's it.
- 21:59[SPEAKER_02]: I thought would be an instant like I don't know.
- 22:02[SPEAKER_02]: He made a good impression.
- 22:03[SPEAKER_02]: A first impression with the coaching staff.
- 22:05[SPEAKER_02]: And then we heard and hide no nor hair at him.
- 22:07[SPEAKER_02]: The Brock was brought back singleton.
- 22:09[SPEAKER_02]: They brought in uh Drake Greenlaw last year.
- 22:11[SPEAKER_02]: They have sternot.
- 22:12[SPEAKER_02]: He's been kind of buried.
- 22:13[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know if he makes the 53 but I would keep him around the practice squad just to see what he can be if anything.
- 22:19[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, and by the way, that pic six that Bailey had in the final preseason game, 2024, what was it like 96 yarder like he went almost the entire field was pretty cool and this next one and last one here is that does I'm going to I'm going to say kind of hurts my heart a little bit because I do have a soft spot for this cat.
- 22:38[SPEAKER_03]: because he is a recent draft pick and that is JL Skinner.
- 22:42[SPEAKER_03]: Now, this is a guy though, Zack, who, of all of these, I remain the most open to proven me wrong here, just because not only is he a draft pick, the Broncos want to see their draft picks exceed.
- 22:54[SPEAKER_03]: But there's only so many safety spots.
- 22:56[SPEAKER_03]: Three of them you can argue of the four that are likely to carry are a lock.
- 23:00[SPEAKER_03]: So really you've got three four guys for guys competing for one.
- 23:05[SPEAKER_03]: Skinner those act he's a recent draft pick six rounder Boise State.
- 23:09[SPEAKER_03]: Well, was it twenty twenty three four five yeah twenty twenty three.
- 23:12[SPEAKER_03]: So part of the maiden Sean Peyton draft class.
- 23:15[SPEAKER_03]: And then also he's really established himself as a key contributor on special team.
- 23:20[SPEAKER_03]: So he has value and for that, I could see him proving me wrong on this.
- 23:24[SPEAKER_03]: But you look at the at the field that he's going against for that fourth spot, Tyson Anderson, the free agent they brought in the only technically outside free agent they brought in back in March.
- 23:35[SPEAKER_03]: Plus Zach is seventh round rookie and Miles Scott Parker Robinson and Undrafted rookie.
- 23:39[SPEAKER_03]: So there's a lot of guys competing.
- 23:41[SPEAKER_03]: I have a hard time seeing Skinner come out on top because also last thing, Anderson also specializes on special teams.
- 23:48[SPEAKER_02]: And you know what?
- 23:48[SPEAKER_02]: Who else?
- 23:49[SPEAKER_02]: Devon Key, the training all pro special teamer.
- 23:52[SPEAKER_02]: I don't think you keep two safety shadges because they're they're good on special teams.
- 23:56[SPEAKER_02]: So if it came down to it, I'm with you.
- 23:58[SPEAKER_02]: I don't think Skinner survives.
- 23:59[SPEAKER_02]: Unfortunately.
- 24:00[SPEAKER_03]: So there you have it guys.
- 24:01[SPEAKER_03]: You tell us if we missed anybody.
- 24:04[SPEAKER_03]: We're talking veterans unlikely to be on the roster week one, Bill.
- 24:09[SPEAKER_03]: Jumped in, did we sign or release Parker Robertson?
- 24:12[SPEAKER_03]: Does that mean Miles Scott might be out?
- 24:16[SPEAKER_03]: Zach, have you heard any news on this?
- 24:18[SPEAKER_03]: Cause as of earlier today, I was not aware that he is not on the team.
- 24:22[SPEAKER_03]: What have you heard?
- 24:23[SPEAKER_03]: I have not heard anything, but I could be out of the loop.
- 24:26[SPEAKER_03]: So I'm pretty sure he's still on the roster, brother, I haven't seen any specific news on that front, but he is Parker Robertson, undrafted rookie, Oklahoma State, 511, he's like 185, he's an interesting guy.
- 24:41[SPEAKER_03]: He could have some upside, like,
- 24:44[SPEAKER_03]: Again, like maybe practice squad, I don't see him really threatening for the roster at this time around because again, they're probably going to carry four safeties on on the 53.
- 24:53[SPEAKER_03]: Three of those spots are pretty locked, and that is Talonohu Fonga, Brandon Jones, and Zach brought up Devon Key.
- 24:59[SPEAKER_03]: Devon Key is kind of being given the opportunity, the first bite at the apple to replace PJ Locke as the third safety who sees a lot of time on defense, by the way, that third
- 25:13[SPEAKER_03]: he's not going anywhere.
- 25:14[SPEAKER_03]: So three of those spots that are barring a trade of one of the top two guys, which isn't going to happen.
- 25:19[SPEAKER_03]: Our locked, then you get to that fourth spot and it's guys like Roberts and I mentioned Skinner, Anderson, who just got signed from the bangles and the seventh round rookie mile Scott.
- 25:28[SPEAKER_03]: So it's going to be a, and Sean Payton talked about this last week.
- 25:31[SPEAKER_03]: He's quote unquote anxious to see how this safety competition shakes out.
- 25:36[SPEAKER_02]: And I think people are treating the practice squad as something that's an also ran.
- 25:40[SPEAKER_02]: And nowadays it's not also ran anymore.
- 25:43[SPEAKER_02]: It's not just you make the 53 and that's you're never going to see the player again.
- 25:47[SPEAKER_02]: With how prevalent callups are from the practice squad, you can shell a guy chat and he could still make an impact for you during the regular season.
- 25:54[SPEAKER_03]: So just because these guys might be cut in the summer, that's what we might not see them in the fall.
- 25:59[SPEAKER_03]: Because remember the new rules on practice squad after the pandemic is that went from me in a 10 man practice squad to 16 very helpful.
- 26:08[SPEAKER_03]: Not only that, but you can elevate two players each week off your practice squad onto your game day active roster at which point after the game is over.
- 26:19[SPEAKER_03]: You can put them right back on your practice squad without having to wave them.
- 26:28[SPEAKER_03]: If you want them back on your practice squad, you have to expose them to the waiver wire and if they don't get claimed, you can then just promptly resign them to your practice squad.
- 26:34[SPEAKER_03]: So a lot of times with that roster math, what ends up happening is it's a guy who's created a little bit of value for himself, they'll get to that third elevation and after the game, their team will just sign them to the 53 instead of
- 26:46[SPEAKER_02]: risking into the to the way of a wired depending so there's that offers just a lot of flexibility in how teams can manage their roster throughout a season exactly yes so again just because these guys might be way by by two in august they could still resurface later in the season and i think we're going to get some good intel and training camp as to who can play and who cannot
- 27:06[SPEAKER_03]: Chase brings up one of our dear members, stoked to see Justin Jolie, the fifth round tight end, in some preseason action, even if he's gonna need a year to develop me too, dude.
- 27:16[SPEAKER_03]: I'm really excited about this guy.
- 27:18[SPEAKER_03]: We, Scott and I, we watched him up close at the senior bull and he was,
- 27:23[SPEAKER_03]: Man, he was very interesting.
- 27:24[SPEAKER_03]: Definitely looked like a big receiver playing tight end.
- 27:28[SPEAKER_03]: So I think he factors into the 53-man roster out of the gates, but yeah, he's going to take some time to develop a little bit.
- 27:35[SPEAKER_03]: How do you utilize him as a rookie?
- 27:37[SPEAKER_03]: I think you'll see some three tight end sets because the Broncos are trying to get, I mean, just based on what Leb said last week.
- 27:45[SPEAKER_03]: uh, in reference to the Rams going kind of mid-season all the sudden going really heavy with three tight ends sets.
- 27:51[SPEAKER_03]: Not to say that that means he's going to do that, but just, I don't know, I think that's on the brain a little bit more higher usage of tight ends in the game plan week to week.
- 27:59[SPEAKER_03]: We'll see some joelies Zach, I think this rookie year.
- 28:03[SPEAKER_02]: It's a what Chase said in the second part there so important because I don't want to anyone to get too out over their skis like you say chat about jolly's expectations.
- 28:13[SPEAKER_02]: It's a really tough position to transition from college to the NFL too and it might be a case like Chase is perfectly saying there in 2027 or 2028 where you might see the payoff in his development but every now and then if you need a scene pass or you want a red zone ball and you want to bonus to have a safety blanket not named Evan Ingram,
- 28:33[SPEAKER_03]: We got Eric Holt checking in on super chat.
- 28:36[SPEAKER_03]: Thank you, big dog.
- 28:37[SPEAKER_03]: Great to see one of our long time superstars in the house.
- 28:40[SPEAKER_03]: And by the way, Eric, we noticed that you, like so many folks currently in our chat right now, you've stayed at the campfire throughout the entire off season, dude.
- 28:49[SPEAKER_03]: Like a lot of folks, God bless them.
- 28:51[SPEAKER_03]: I'm not making any judgments here, but they'll go away from the campfire when the off season rolls around.
- 28:55[SPEAKER_03]: They might stick around a little up until about free agency that'll disappear.
- 29:00[SPEAKER_03]: Come back for a few days.
- 29:02[SPEAKER_03]: for the draft and then they'll kind of, you'll see him again in August.
- 29:05[SPEAKER_03]: You've been there at the campfire with us the entire time, buddy.
- 29:08[SPEAKER_03]: So we appreciate you.
- 29:09[SPEAKER_03]: He says, hey guys, six Broncos, I don't expect to make the 53.
- 29:13[SPEAKER_03]: Humphrey, Adkins.
- 29:17[SPEAKER_03]: Jonathan Cooper, which it's interesting, Zack, is when I did my post mini camp 53 man roster project projection.
- 29:23[SPEAKER_03]: I did project Cooper gone.
- 29:25[SPEAKER_03]: So it's not a bold prediction per say, but that's me just gone.
- 29:29[SPEAKER_03]: We'll talk about that here in a second.
- 29:30[SPEAKER_03]: But day, he says gone, McLaughlin gone, and a shocker, Stitham, he says Butler, the new UFL wide receiver, and Sam Ellinger, will shine Zack.
- 29:41[SPEAKER_02]: It wouldn't surprise me, absolutely not considering how Elinger's looked and considering what we saw from Stedum considering what Sean Peyton said about the competition.
- 29:50[SPEAKER_02]: It would just, it would have to be like no doubt about it.
- 29:53[SPEAKER_02]: In my opinion, for Sean Peyton to move off of Jared Stedum as the number two to go to Elinger as the number two to make that type of move, it would have to be like,
- 30:02[SPEAKER_02]: uh... state system face plants and elinger throes like three four touchdowns of preseason game except for that happening though i don't see that chakra transpiring the rest is more a legitimate thank you are
- 30:13[SPEAKER_03]: I was writing about the backup competition this time around and how it's an actual competition where they're letting them fight for the job as opposed to since 2023 this is just Jared Stitton's job and all he has to do is go out in training camp and kind of justify it.
- 30:28[SPEAKER_03]: This time around it's being pitted Zach as a bona fide competition and why that's important.
- 30:33[SPEAKER_03]: It is important just because Bonyx is health situation.
- 30:36[SPEAKER_03]: It's that much more kind of crucial.
- 30:38[SPEAKER_03]: He's coming off an injury.
- 30:39[SPEAKER_03]: You want to feel as solid about that QB2 spot as you can if you're the Broncos, but my question is, like, what changed?
- 30:47[SPEAKER_03]: Why all of a sudden are the Broncos going, you know,
- 30:50[SPEAKER_03]: We need to, we need this to be an actual competition for QB2.
- 30:54[SPEAKER_03]: And I'm thinking about this.
- 30:55[SPEAKER_03]: I'm scratching my head.
- 30:55[SPEAKER_03]: I'm writing about it.
- 30:56[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, really, the only thing that changed is that, because Eleanor was around last summer, granted he was new, brand new to the Broncos, but he was around what change was, when Bonix got hurt, they had to turn to Stitham.
- 31:11[SPEAKER_03]: and Stitham did not answer the bell.
- 31:13[SPEAKER_03]: He stepped up and played the game like in that sense he answered like when they called on him, he stepped up, he played in a very tough situation like freak, freak, stars aligned in the worst possible way situation, but
- 31:26[SPEAKER_03]: He did not equip himself well, Zach, outside of the very first, I'll say the first two Bronco possessions from there.
- 31:34[SPEAKER_03]: It was literally Zach all downhill.
- 31:36[SPEAKER_03]: And then of course, his two turnovers ended up being huge difference makers in that outcome of the Patriots winning 10, seven, remember seven of those points were off his to quote my part here, two handed fumble, Jared Stidham.
- 31:49[SPEAKER_03]: So I think that's what made them realize, you know what?
- 31:53[SPEAKER_03]: We need maybe better answers.
- 31:54[SPEAKER_03]: And if the answer ends up being steady, I'm still so be it, but we need to be a little bit more sure of it.
- 32:01[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, well said, it's not just that he didn't win the game in my opinion, Chad, he showed his limitations as an NFL quarterback, either a backup or not.
- 32:09[SPEAKER_02]: And I think Sean Payton took a look in that mirror or looking at the game footage and realized what Jared's system is and what San Allen could be.
- 32:18[SPEAKER_02]: He loves his projects.
- 32:19[SPEAKER_02]: He loves Zach Wilson.
- 32:21[SPEAKER_02]: He liked the gunslinging quarterbacks going back to his time in New Orleans.
- 32:24[SPEAKER_02]: He's complimented Ellen your chat for how he can move in the pocket kind of a dual threat, so to speak.
- 32:29[SPEAKER_02]: I've written about, say, Ellen, or more than I like to admit, just based on Sean Peyton quotes.
- 32:35[SPEAKER_02]: And I just think he realized the limitations that you're shackled with when you have Jared said him even as your number two quarterback.
- 32:41[SPEAKER_03]: Well said, Big Dog.
- 32:42[SPEAKER_03]: Eric, again, brother, so good to see you.
- 32:44[SPEAKER_03]: Thank you again.
- 32:45[SPEAKER_03]: We've got the Queen Diana Henry.
- 32:47[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, now jump in back in.
- 32:49[SPEAKER_03]: Another top rope super chat.
- 32:51[SPEAKER_03]: Thank you.
- 32:51[SPEAKER_03]: Thank you so much.
- 32:52[SPEAKER_03]: Much love and respect to you, my friend.
- 32:55[SPEAKER_03]: She says, I just want
- 32:57[SPEAKER_03]: Jekwann Macmillan and Marvin Mems, Jr.
- 33:01[SPEAKER_03]: Paid.
- 33:02[SPEAKER_03]: I'm hoping Sam Ellinger bumps out, Stitham.
- 33:04[SPEAKER_03]: Never been a fan of Stitdy.
- 33:06[SPEAKER_03]: In my opinion, I think they move on from Cooper.
- 33:08[SPEAKER_03]: I think we go five and one for six games, MHH for life.
- 33:12[SPEAKER_03]: I just have a feeling too that I don't know what it is.
- 33:15[SPEAKER_03]: I'm not, again, don't call it a bull prediction.
- 33:18[SPEAKER_03]: It's just like a gut feeling right now because they asked him to stay away from mini camp.
- 33:24[SPEAKER_03]: I think that's them saying stay away because we're looking to see what's what we have outside laying back or whether the guys give us some confidence to perhaps just rip the band aid off and move on from you and also time to get our ducks in a row and kind of figure out not only the depth chart and who can step up and be this starter if we do release you exact but also the salary cap ramifications and Bob Morris wrote about this guys.
- 33:47[SPEAKER_03]: I highly recommend you go read it.
- 33:54[SPEAKER_03]: the salary cap to contract situation of Cooper and what really the Broncos are weighing right now with that, but bottom line is if they cut them now, and this is a summing's act.
- 34:06[SPEAKER_03]: There are no there's no I don't want to say offset language what was the what was the phrase he used in the article I'm it's going to skate me right now, but a lot of times in these contracts is that the guarantees are tied to like if you do something off the field that requires us to cut you that's not a guarantee the guarantee goes away in other words we reserve the right if you do something away from the team
- 34:28[SPEAKER_03]: We don't have to pay you that in some cases.
- 34:29[SPEAKER_03]: You have to pay us back like if some of that guarantee was paid in assigning bonus, et cetera.
- 34:34[SPEAKER_03]: It's unclear if any of that kind of language, just so you know, is in the Cooper contract, but if they were to release in Zack, they're looking at about five million dead this year, but they would save like 27 million over the next two years for what it's worth.
- 34:49[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, it's like the NFL's version of being fired with cause and without cause and the investigation shows one thing.
- 34:55[SPEAKER_02]: The broadcast can fire Cooper with cause and like Chad said recoup some of that money, but we'll see how that shakes out again.
- 35:00[SPEAKER_02]: The investigations, the legalities to what Deanna's saying about McMillan and Mims.
- 35:05[SPEAKER_02]: We can't forget about Rowley Moss hanging on the background as well.
- 35:08[SPEAKER_02]: He's an extension candidate.
- 35:09[SPEAKER_02]: I would hope they pay one of these guys shed because we have a McMillan rumor and then that kind of died off.
- 35:14[SPEAKER_02]: We know Marvin Mims wants a new contract.
- 35:16[SPEAKER_02]: He has a new agent.
- 35:17[SPEAKER_02]: The rest of what DNA set here, we'll see what shakes out with, we just talked about sitting here and, uh, LLM, LLM, LLM, or the standing here.
- 35:24[SPEAKER_02]: Stitom and LLM are the quarterback competition, and I've never been a big fan of STitom either.
- 35:28[SPEAKER_02]: Your prediction about five and one, the first six games, they do that, they are winning the Super Bowl.
- 35:33[SPEAKER_02]: I do not care.
- 35:34[SPEAKER_02]: Thank you, DNA.
- 35:35[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, it still blows my mind like we had a short go up Zach over the last over the weekend of us just kind of riffing on the that news from about a week and a half ago that talks had begun between the Broncos and McMillan so we had a little real slash short go up on YouTube and the Facebooks and our Instagram and TikTok and all that stuff and on Facebook and actually on all the platforms.
- 35:59[SPEAKER_03]: you always find three or four comments get rid of moss he's a bum, Riley moss sucks.
- 36:06[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, miss me on moss like trade and cut and get rid of him like dude.
- 36:11[SPEAKER_03]: you guys are tripping when he figured out even before that he figured out the whole penalty thing and being a little too grabby and just constantly being in the officials bullseye.
- 36:21[SPEAKER_03]: He was still a net positive even in the face of that, but he figured out a way to cut that down completely down the stretch and into the playoffs.
- 36:30[SPEAKER_03]: He's at one of the best number two corners in the NFL, whether people want to accept that or not.
- 36:37[SPEAKER_02]: 1,000% you guys know where I stand on Riley Moss.
- 36:39[SPEAKER_02]: I'll continue defending him and I'm calling it down the middle because when he messes up Just like when PS2 messes up in coverage or McMillan I'll call them out, but Riley offers like Chad said way more good than bad and if he goes get those penalties under control He could be a solid long-term corner back to for you.
- 36:55[SPEAKER_03]: I'm I'm longing Riley Moss for sure Yeah, it's gonna be interesting and just by the way just because we haven't heard anything further on McMillan
- 37:04[SPEAKER_03]: I know there were some, you know, some blowback on that initial report saying now we have our sources say they haven't had talks yet guys we're not going to get any info like meaningful resolution on it.
- 37:17[SPEAKER_03]: I should say until late July at soonest when they all come back for training camp.
- 37:22[SPEAKER_03]: But more likely, Zach, very early August is when the extension ducks will start falling.
- 37:28[SPEAKER_03]: So we'll see, but lady D would love you.
- 37:31[SPEAKER_03]: We appreciate you know this.
- 37:33[SPEAKER_03]: String guy says, Zach, mostly agree with your predictions.
- 37:36[SPEAKER_03]: But who knows what Peyton will do, Sean Peyton that is.
- 37:39[SPEAKER_03]: I wonder if Sean Peyton drives George Peyton as crazy as he does you and the rest of Broncos country.
- 37:46[SPEAKER_02]: I'm a little confused though, Raj.
- 37:48[SPEAKER_02]: What the context was, what prediction I made.
- 37:50[SPEAKER_02]: I'm not totally sure, but I think it was a little Jordan and like I think when we're talking about a little Jordan Humphrey or maybe I don't know.
- 37:58[SPEAKER_02]: It's got to be.
- 37:58[SPEAKER_02]: That's the only one I can think of right now, but I just don't know.
- 38:01[SPEAKER_02]: It comes out of a personal bias.
- 38:03[SPEAKER_02]: Sean loves them.
- 38:03[SPEAKER_02]: I don't.
- 38:04[SPEAKER_02]: It's what Sean wants, not what I want.
- 38:06[SPEAKER_02]: So we'll see what happens.
- 38:07[SPEAKER_03]: Yes, Todd, the Broncos signed Devin Key's Little Brother Dane.
- 38:10[SPEAKER_03]: Who's a wide receiver?
- 38:12[SPEAKER_03]: So he's on the roster.
- 38:13[SPEAKER_03]: You got a couple of keys in Denver.
- 38:15[SPEAKER_03]: Quorum bredomus.
- 38:16[SPEAKER_03]: Y'all think Nate Adkins will get pushed out.
- 38:20[SPEAKER_03]: I have him currently making the roster as the fourth tight end.
- 38:23[SPEAKER_03]: But he's very much on unstable ground.
- 38:27[SPEAKER_03]: Because you got the two draft picks this year.
- 38:34[SPEAKER_03]: And then Bentley, who's more of that blocker, yeah, he can do some down-filled stuff, champagne likes that about him as a pass catcher, but Anne Kaleb Loaner, all it takes is one of those guys to like really show up this summer and Adkins is gone.
- 38:50[SPEAKER_03]: But I do think Adkins is the priority right now, like if they had to go to Wardam, Marl, Adkins is on the 53, because of what he brings to the table as a blocker.
- 38:59[SPEAKER_03]: He is, at least for now, Zach,
- 39:01[SPEAKER_03]: So don't listen what they say about Troutman, Adkins is their best blocking tight end currently.
- 39:07[SPEAKER_02]: That's what I was gonna say for all the faults about Nate Adkins, what he does well is he functions as a fullback and as a tight end.
- 39:13[SPEAKER_02]: No other tight end really could do that on the roster.
- 39:15[SPEAKER_02]: So if they get rid of the fullback they have chat, if they don't bring back Adam Prentz's for example, then yeah, I think Nate Adkins can find his way.
- 39:22[SPEAKER_02]: If they do though, then they don't really need him.
- 39:25[SPEAKER_03]: That's a good point, dude.
- 39:26[SPEAKER_03]: And it's a, when you're thinking about the roster and projecting, it's like, are they gonna keep five running backs?
- 39:32[SPEAKER_03]: Cause if fullback counts with the running back.
- 39:34[SPEAKER_03]: So you're gonna keep what?
- 39:36[SPEAKER_03]: Dobbins Harvey Coleman, let's just say McLaughlin and
- 39:41[SPEAKER_03]: the fullback apprentice or you're going to keep three actual running backs and a fullback which by the way, I don't think they will.
- 39:48[SPEAKER_03]: I think they'll keep four and one so they'll keep five we'll see.
- 39:52[SPEAKER_03]: But Zach did set up now better than it ever has since Sean Payton's been the head coach.
- 39:57[SPEAKER_03]: If they wanted to keep just three true running backs, they could because Coleman is that complete in that top three, they have really everything they would need and then you could try and stash him a gofflin and or a bidet or maybe even a straight or we'll see how straight it looks as summer on the PS bring them up elevate them until you run out and then you could figure out what to do them.
- 40:18[SPEAKER_02]: Plus you're so confident in JK Dobbins is so confident that he could stay healthy for a full season so put your money where your mouth is carry one less running back and put your all your faith and a JK actually lasting you seven can games.
- 40:30[SPEAKER_03]: By the way, Comber out of us.
- 40:31[SPEAKER_03]: Yes, Loaners purported time table is he's supposed to be back for training camp.
- 40:36[SPEAKER_03]: So we'll see a top though.
- 40:37[SPEAKER_03]: He says Drew Sanders is history in my opinion.
- 40:42[SPEAKER_03]: He might be it might be too little too light, but look out of like this.
- 40:46[SPEAKER_03]: They've kept him this long for a reason.
- 40:49[SPEAKER_03]: So Sean Peyton said good things about him last week, granted he plays a front seven position.
- 40:55[SPEAKER_03]: So it's a little bit harder to see what's what in the format of OTAs in many camp when they don't have pads on and it's relatively non-contact.
- 41:03[SPEAKER_03]: So time will tell, but he was a very productive pass rusher in college.
- 41:09[SPEAKER_03]: He has experience playing the edge.
- 41:11[SPEAKER_03]: So even though we didn't like it, him moving positions, all of a sudden, once again, like back drafted as an inside guy, then moved to outside, then back to inside.
- 41:20[SPEAKER_03]: Now back to outside, we don't love that.
- 41:22[SPEAKER_03]: It's kind of breakneck and it's like let him just specialize and focus on one thing.
- 41:27[SPEAKER_03]: One of the reasons the Broncos hacker doing it is because he is experienced on the edge.
- 41:31[SPEAKER_03]: So like alignments and assignments and technique and understanding, let alone what it takes to actually rush and you know, penetrate and get to the quarterback.
- 41:40[SPEAKER_03]: He has a base understanding of that.
- 41:41[SPEAKER_03]: He's not starting from square one.
- 41:43[SPEAKER_02]: No, and another reason is he was a fairly high round draft pick, and if you cut him now, you're basically saying, we give up, he's a bust, he's unsalvable.
- 41:53[SPEAKER_02]: He'll never amounts to what we thought he could be in the NFL.
- 41:56[SPEAKER_02]: So for that point alone, I think the brock was going to try to make chicken salad at a chicken.
- 42:00[SPEAKER_02]: You know what would Drew Sanders and get whatever they can out of him, whatever that may be.
- 42:05[SPEAKER_02]: But I will say this last thing on the Sanders
- 42:09[SPEAKER_03]: If he's healthy, he is a very talented human being.
- 42:13[SPEAKER_03]: Like he's a explosive athlete.
- 42:16[SPEAKER_03]: He's got the size.
- 42:17[SPEAKER_03]: He is a talent.
- 42:18[SPEAKER_03]: And even the very little amount of times that he's actually spent on the field in the regular season, all of which basically came as rookie year.
- 42:27[SPEAKER_03]: Like he found a way to be around the ball.
- 42:28[SPEAKER_03]: Like he's a guy that, if he can stay healthy, I think it's kind of like the cream rises to the top and it'll be very self-aware.
- 42:35[SPEAKER_03]: It'll be obvious to everybody what Sanders is.
- 42:39[SPEAKER_03]: If there's the big caveat, if he can stay healthy and even Sean Peyton emphasized that last week on this, when he was asked about Sanders is, you know, he's got to stay healthy, but then good things.
- 42:51[SPEAKER_02]: even though like even if he does stay healthy though, and even if the Broncos get rid of Cooper, he still has to go through other players to even see the field chat.
- 42:58[SPEAKER_02]: There's like three other linebackers waiting in the wings before true Sanders is up to bat.
- 43:03[SPEAKER_02]: So I hope it can make something firm self.
- 43:05[SPEAKER_02]: I'm with you on him.
- 43:06[SPEAKER_03]: By the way, Mike Davis, I see you as at 65 ideas on the meet and greet this year.
- 43:11[SPEAKER_03]: So it case you if what you're asking is when is it week three Broncos ram Sunday night football?
- 43:18[SPEAKER_03]: and hope to see you there due to be awesome to have you there.
- 43:21[SPEAKER_03]: So rock those acts is why would anyone want Marvin Mims gone from the Broncos?
- 43:26[SPEAKER_03]: He made a a key catch against the bills in the 25, 25, 25 AFC division around, page a quant and Marvin Mims.
- 43:35[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, I don't see too much if any Zach negativity about Mims.
- 43:41[SPEAKER_03]: Generally speaking, I think most Broncos fans like Mims and they
- 43:49[SPEAKER_03]: he's still out there publicly questioning where he fits with the team like he's doing his part to kind of put pressure on the Broncos through the arena public opinion to come to the table and get an extension done and I do think they will Zach the question for me isn't is men's coming back I do think he comes back on an extension to me it's who do they prioritize between McMillan and Moss because they're both corners.
- 44:13[SPEAKER_02]: And how are they paying Marvin Mims they paying him as a receiver or paying him as a return man that's going to be I think crux of negotiations and I don't know Michael I'm with Chad here I haven't seen too many Brock was fans crapping on Marvin Mims obviously no one wants him to reset the receiver market I don't I don't think he's worth that
- 44:29[SPEAKER_02]: But most of us want him to be around a little longer with the organization and get more opportunity as a receiver for the reason that you pointed out and Sean Peyton even pointed out again, Chad, he goes every time we've called Marvin Mims' number, he's answered, it's about getting him the SNAPs.
- 44:43[SPEAKER_02]: Well, now's the time to get him those SNAPs.
- 44:45[SPEAKER_02]: Thank you, they'll rock.
- 44:47[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, so I'm going to answer a quick question here for
- 44:54[SPEAKER_03]: Michael Davis on the Drew Sanders front.
- 44:57[SPEAKER_03]: He's like, dude, Chad, what game was he actually active in doing stuff?
- 45:00[SPEAKER_03]: Well, I know it's filled with his history by now, but he did start for games his rookie year at the end of the season.
- 45:07[SPEAKER_03]: So that was the last Russell Wilson season, right?
- 45:10[SPEAKER_03]: And where he kind of made his presence felt got to remember he had a tag of that.
- 45:15[SPEAKER_02]: So it's the chargers, I think.
- 45:17[SPEAKER_03]: The chargers had a sack or pardon me.
- 45:20[SPEAKER_03]: He had a tackle for a loss.
- 45:21[SPEAKER_03]: I'm trying to figure out where his takeaway came from.
- 45:24[SPEAKER_03]: He recovered a fumble against the chiefs in that very first win.
- 45:29[SPEAKER_03]: So if you guys recall.
- 45:32[SPEAKER_03]: Well, was it 16 and a row they beat the Broncos that first time the Broncos finally snapped the streak was Peyton's first year and it was with Ross at home here a cover to fumble in that game.
- 45:45[SPEAKER_03]: But yeah, Drew Sanders, again, I'm keeping it within context here.
- 45:48[SPEAKER_03]: I'm not trying to blow it out of proportion like he's a whirling dervish anytime he's on the field, but he does
- 45:54[SPEAKER_03]: impact the game.
- 45:55[SPEAKER_03]: If you go look at his game logs when he's on the field, he makes things happen.
- 46:00[SPEAKER_03]: So I'm still optimistic that this is going to be the year for him to finally kind of stay out of the crosshairs of the injury bug.
- 46:07[SPEAKER_03]: So I think if he can do that, the rest honestly, Zach brought up the key another key component, his draft pedigree.
- 46:13[SPEAKER_03]: I think the rest will take care of it.
- 46:14[SPEAKER_03]: So
- 46:15[SPEAKER_02]: But like if you go into our content management system chat and you search Drew Sanders' name, like 10 pictures will pop.
- 46:22[SPEAKER_02]: All the pictures are from that Kansas City game, him recovering that fumble.
- 46:26[SPEAKER_02]: That's how little we've seen of Drew Sanders.
- 46:28[SPEAKER_02]: And that's how much of a total wild card he is.
- 46:31[SPEAKER_02]: He can go either way, it's really.
- 46:33[SPEAKER_03]: Excellent point.
- 46:35[SPEAKER_03]: All right guys, it's say,
- 46:37[SPEAKER_03]: It's a family day.
- 46:39[SPEAKER_03]: You guys are family.
- 46:40[SPEAKER_03]: So we're doing the stream, obviously.
- 46:42[SPEAKER_03]: But we got a few things going tonight.
- 46:43[SPEAKER_03]: So Zach's gonna go through a few messages.
- 46:46[SPEAKER_03]: I'm gonna take one last look at the chat before we leave, grab one or two more things so don't go anywhere.

- 47:50[SPEAKER_03]: All right.
- 47:50[SPEAKER_03]: Let's wrap it.
- 47:51[SPEAKER_03]: Let's wrap it fire these Zach.
- 47:53[SPEAKER_03]: Michael Davis says, if you're telling me Riley Moss is a top 10 corner back too, then you're also telling me that he would be a CB one on 20 teams.
- 48:04[SPEAKER_03]: Easy.
- 48:05[SPEAKER_03]: I would say that Riley Moss could competently and confidently start as the CB1 on one third of this lead.
- 48:13[SPEAKER_03]: Yes.
- 48:13[SPEAKER_03]: Think back guys, when last season, he's going through all the ups and downs of the penalty issues, right?
- 48:22[SPEAKER_03]: Sir Tan then goes down.
- 48:25[SPEAKER_03]: Riley Moss rolled over to the number one spot and held it down with authority.
- 48:30[SPEAKER_03]: Like, they did not miss a beat in the secondary.
- 48:33[SPEAKER_03]: So yes, I don't know the exact number of teams.
- 48:36[SPEAKER_03]: I'm not looking at rosters right now, but yeah, dude, he could start for a good chunk of the NFL teams as the number one corner.
- 48:42[SPEAKER_02]: That's a great anecdotal pull I forgot about that and it's so true and maybe we're higher on Raleigh Moss than other podcasts, but here's my barometer Michael, if Riley hit the free agent market tomorrow would one NFL team give him a contract, commensurate to being a starting quarterback.
- 48:58[SPEAKER_02]: And the answer is yes, so that's that's here answer.
- 49:01[SPEAKER_02]: All right, there he is a great quarterback too.
- 49:04[SPEAKER_03]: String guy says, I love Moss.
- 49:05[SPEAKER_03]: My only concern is can we afford to keep him?
- 49:09[SPEAKER_03]: And that's the question.
- 49:11[SPEAKER_03]: That's the, you know, $600,000 question, whatever.
- 49:14[SPEAKER_03]: It's the big question.
- 49:15[SPEAKER_03]: And especially in the face of you got a couple other key guys in a contract here.
- 49:19[SPEAKER_03]: And by the way, we haven't even mentioned much in that scope of things.
- 49:24[SPEAKER_03]: Brandon Jones, also in a contract here, the safety group.
- 49:27[SPEAKER_03]: And then you got to worry about Bow's contract next year, which again, with all this stuff going on with Cooper
- 49:34[SPEAKER_03]: rip the band aid off dude, move on.
- 49:36[SPEAKER_03]: You've got the horses in the rush line back a room.
- 49:39[SPEAKER_03]: And you'll save in 27 and 28 combined, 27 million bucks that could go toward counting for bonus, et cetera, et cetera.
- 49:47[SPEAKER_03]: So, but that is the question because like if he hit string guy, if Moss hit Zach, the
- 49:52[SPEAKER_03]: free agent market back in March he would have gotten somewhere between 22 or 20 and 22 million bucks.
- 49:57[SPEAKER_03]: I've seen some people say 20 upwards of 25 million.
- 50:00[SPEAKER_03]: Then you're all of a sudden talking past your 10 money just because of the way open markets, right?
- 50:05[SPEAKER_03]: It's all supply and demand drives the price up.
- 50:07[SPEAKER_03]: So this is a guy who knows what he's worth.
- 50:10[SPEAKER_03]: He doesn't get it from Denver.
- 50:11[SPEAKER_03]: He will get it somewhere.
- 50:14[SPEAKER_02]: And you can't pay everyone.
- 50:15[SPEAKER_02]: The Broncos have talked about that.
- 50:16[SPEAKER_02]: They've shown that in their actions with JFM.
- 50:19[SPEAKER_02]: You have to let some of these other players go.
- 50:21[SPEAKER_02]: Fortunately, you drafted a corner back that's supposed to step up and be the next long-term starting corner on a rookie contract mind you and joddate variance.
- 50:29[SPEAKER_02]: So again, I don't know string guy if they're going to pay Moss a sap or they're going to wait and see how the joddate bear in year two progression takes off before they have to make a decision.
- 50:38[SPEAKER_03]: And then this is kind of the two same topic, cornbreadmus, if you're GM and the Broncos, looking at your team, prepare for a Super Bowl run.
- 50:48[SPEAKER_03]: Where's your weak point?
- 50:49[SPEAKER_03]: He says, me, backup quarterbacks.
- 50:52[SPEAKER_03]: So I would say on offense, that's fair, but I would probably lean more toward tight end.
- 50:56[SPEAKER_03]: On defense, I would lean right here with Todd.
- 50:59[SPEAKER_03]: inside linebacker.
- 51:00[SPEAKER_03]: However, Zack, I think we could all feel very different and will end up feeling very different about inside linebacker depth by the end of August.
- 51:09[SPEAKER_03]: I think you're going to see some guys pop and shine and you're going to feel a little bit better.
- 51:13[SPEAKER_03]: Granted none of them are going to have any proven production to bring to the table.
- 51:16[SPEAKER_03]: It's all going to be projection still because you can't read too much into what you see in the preseason and they're all still pretty in experience.
- 51:24[SPEAKER_03]: But I also think that's another reason why Zack heard things as well.
- 51:29[SPEAKER_03]: They're looking, they're going to be scanning the waiver wire from July through August for the right opportunity of veteran who does have some proven experience they could bring in fit in the team culture and not have to pay him an arm in a leg.
- 51:42[SPEAKER_02]: Exactly.
- 51:43[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, it's weak right now because it seems like it's not very top heavy with singleton and sternat coming back.
- 51:49[SPEAKER_02]: They're kind of I don't know very vanilla starters, but underneath them you have some exciting options that we've talked about already read Murdoch, Tory and Lord York, Carina Reed, Level Bailey, if even one of those guys chat steps up and becomes and develops into a long-term starter, I don't think that position becomes that much weak anymore.
- 52:07[SPEAKER_03]: All right, guys.
- 52:07[SPEAKER_03]: A mile high salute, a special shout out to all the great Super Chat Superstar supporters and dear members.
- 52:13[SPEAKER_03]: Helpin' us, keep the lights on this 21st day of June.
- 52:17[SPEAKER_03]: See the time, it just starts flying, baby.
- 52:20[SPEAKER_03]: Like, feels slow in the moment, but then all of a sudden you look back and I'm like, whoa, it's all ready to light June.
- 52:25[SPEAKER_03]: But that shout out, we're starting with the princess, Michaela Parker.
- 52:29[SPEAKER_03]: Thank you, Michaela.
- 52:29[SPEAKER_03]: Queen, Diana, Hendry, Announceable, generous supers, pop a bear, throwing down a super before we even hit the old go live button, Tucson fill, holding it down for us on Facebook and last but not least amongst the super stars tonight, Eric Holt.
- 52:44[SPEAKER_03]: And guys, all the members in the chat, you know who you are.
- 52:47[SPEAKER_03]: I've mentioned you all this evening, except for I think Pearl, good to see you Pearl, hope you're doing well.
- 52:52[SPEAKER_03]: But you know who you are, we love you, we appreciate you.
- 52:55[SPEAKER_03]: And Zach and I were back tomorrow for Monday night show.
- 53:00[SPEAKER_03]: So we'll see you guys then.
- 53:01[SPEAKER_03]: And in the meantime, everybody enjoy what remains for Father's Day and shout out to all the dads in Broncos Country.
- 53:08[SPEAKER_02]: Have a great rest of your Sunday.
- 53:10[SPEAKER_02]: We will see you tomorrow and I take care.
- 53:11[SPEAKER_02]: And as always, go Broncos.
