Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: Mayhem, absurdity and merriment. That is how The Age describes
- 0:05Speaker 1: our next guests and their new show, which is coming
- 0:07Speaker 1: to the Regal Theater this Friday and Saturday night. Tickets
- 0:11Speaker 1: are available through ticket Tech. We speak, of course, of
- 0:14Speaker 1: Leno and Woodley.
- 0:15Speaker 2: Hello, let the mayhem begin.
- 0:17Speaker 3: Good morning, Hello, good morning, great to be here, Frank,
- 0:21Speaker 3: Hello Lisa, Hello Russell.
- 0:24Speaker 1: In Space this is the show what made you decide.
- 0:30Speaker 2: You're in space? No one can hear you scream, but
- 0:33Speaker 2: hopefully they can hear you laugh.
- 0:35Speaker 4: Well, and they tell you that they can hear you
- 0:37Speaker 4: do that weird thing with your teeth coll that you
- 0:39Speaker 4: do where you go where you suck on your teeth.
- 0:43Speaker 4: I had to deal with that in space for nine
- 0:45Speaker 4: months for really, dear no, I don't know what that
- 0:49Speaker 4: was about. I just don't think that that wouldn't be
- 0:51Speaker 4: a great slogud for so in space people can hear
- 0:55Speaker 4: you go. There was a mix up. The whole thing
- 1:01Speaker 4: was a mix up because I said to Cold you
- 1:03Speaker 4: want to do a show again this year and he said, actually,
- 1:06Speaker 4: to be honest, I need space. And then I signed
- 1:09Speaker 4: that up for the Melbourn Comedy Festival. Put the title
- 1:12Speaker 4: in there, and then he said no, I didn't want
- 1:14Speaker 4: to do a show this year, and then we were
- 1:15Speaker 4: just you know, we were obligated to.
- 1:17Speaker 2: You were left with no alternative. Really, it's you guys
- 1:20Speaker 2: all alone on a spaceship or so you think.
- 1:23Speaker 3: Well, yes, that's that's right. I mean, as usual, I
- 1:27Speaker 3: can't really believe why Frank keeps on talking me into
- 1:30Speaker 3: doing a show, because once again, I've written this amazing
- 1:32Speaker 3: show about the first people to walk on Mars I
- 1:36Speaker 3: mean spoiler alert. But funnily enough, he just tries to
- 1:39Speaker 3: sabotage the show. Isn't that incredible? For all these years,
- 1:44Speaker 3: I'm trying to figure out who the dickhead is because
- 1:47Speaker 3: I thought that he was the dickhead, but because I
- 1:50Speaker 3: keep on signing up for his stupidness, I think I've
- 1:53Speaker 3: finally figured out after thirty five years, I'm the dick
- 1:56Speaker 3: ed Litha Rugh, I'm dead. I'm really frustrated that I
- 2:02Speaker 3: am the dickhead, but also I'm frustrated that it's taking
- 2:04Speaker 3: me so long to realize that I'm the dickhead, right,
- 2:07Speaker 3: because I keep on thinking he's going to do a
- 2:09Speaker 3: really good show, but he just stuffs it up. Constantly,
- 2:12Speaker 3: but the audience seemed to enjoy it.
- 2:14Speaker 1: Well, this is the thing. We are the winners out
- 2:16Speaker 1: of this, you know, slow realization.
- 2:20Speaker 3: I'm the loser. I do care. I mean I love you.
- 2:24Speaker 3: I love you, Lisa, I love you dearly. I listened
- 2:26Speaker 3: to you every single day, but I don't care about you.
- 2:30Speaker 3: I'm the giccked.
- 2:31Speaker 4: That's the thing that I know.
- 2:33Speaker 1: Okay, now, were you inspired?
- 2:35Speaker 4: I thought, you know what I thought? I thought Carl
- 2:37Speaker 4: was going to say that I love you, Lisa. I
- 2:39Speaker 4: love everything about you. And the more I think about it,
- 2:41Speaker 4: I'm sorry. Think I think rustles the dish.
- 2:45Speaker 2: Sorry, it's taken ten months to work it out, but yeh,
- 2:49Speaker 2: there we go. The pennies dropped.
- 2:50Speaker 1: That was a quicker realize.
- 2:52Speaker 4: I don't agree. I don't agree.
- 2:53Speaker 1: Cart Were you inspired by the recent Artemis two mission
- 2:57Speaker 1: or was it more Katie perry Top because she's an
- 3:02Speaker 1: astronaut as we know, she was up there.
- 3:03Speaker 4: For ten minutes. Yes, yeah, that's a good point. I
- 3:08Speaker 4: think we were actually more more inspired by the recent
- 3:11Speaker 4: Jeff Bezos step where it just blew up before it
- 3:14Speaker 4: even got.
- 3:16Speaker 2: I would say that you should be more inspired by
- 3:19Speaker 2: SpaceX shares and how the world just got its first trillionaire.
- 3:23Speaker 3: Well, that's right, and if tickets go well on the weekend,
- 3:26Speaker 3: that I will be the first trillionaire comedians in the universe.
- 3:31Speaker 4: We just need to sell about one hundred and fifty
- 3:35Speaker 4: billion more tickets maybe more.
- 3:38Speaker 2: Yeah, I love the Asta Theater, but I don't think
- 3:40Speaker 2: it's going to I don't think it's going to make
- 3:42Speaker 2: you a trus.
- 3:42Speaker 3: No, well, unfortunately, I don't want to tell you how
- 3:44Speaker 3: to do your job, but I think it's the Regal Theater.
- 3:48Speaker 3: But anyway, I mean, you write your own so you've
- 3:51Speaker 3: been doing it for ten months. You know what you're
- 3:53Speaker 3: doing stuff you don't. But I wouldn't say that to people.
- 3:57Speaker 3: I would say that Russell is one of the most official,
- 4:00Speaker 3: shouldn't you know, like he cried, he stops his.
- 4:03Speaker 2: Eyes checking that you're paying attention. You'd be surprised.
- 4:11Speaker 3: Anyway, I put it to you that Arsomis and SpaceX
- 4:15Speaker 3: stole the idea off us. We came up with this
- 4:17Speaker 3: idea like two years ago, and right, they stole the
- 4:21Speaker 3: idea of us. So how dare you, mister Elon, Yes,
- 4:26Speaker 3: how dare you?
- 4:27Speaker 1: How dare they? Did you is there any spacecraft props
- 4:31Speaker 1: on the stage.
- 4:32Speaker 4: Well, yeah, I made myself a little alien, you know,
- 4:35Speaker 4: and I have yet and we even we do a
- 4:38Speaker 4: little section where we go for a space walk, you know,
- 4:41Speaker 4: we're in the space suits and everything. That's quite an
- 4:43Speaker 4: effective little bit of the show that I think it
- 4:45Speaker 4: shouldn't really be called a space walk because it's more
- 4:47Speaker 4: like a space float. That's a little pinicotie of me.
- 4:50Speaker 4: But yeah, I never had the opportunity to bring that
- 4:52Speaker 4: up in a compasation. You have to mention Michael Jackson's moonwalk.
- 4:56Speaker 4: Great walk, but it's really just a walk against the
- 4:58Speaker 4: wind walk, mindy, walk against the windwalk. I just said,
- 5:02Speaker 4: thanks for giving me the opportuite event some of this.
- 5:04Speaker 4: Actually it feels good.
- 5:05Speaker 1: No problem.
- 5:06Speaker 2: Directed by Eddie Perfect, we believe.
- 5:09Speaker 3: Really, Yes, that's right. He came in and he did
- 5:13Speaker 3: a lot of just basically you get to your corner, Frank,
- 5:16Speaker 3: and you get to your corner, Colin. He basically stopped
- 5:19Speaker 3: this from hitting each other with blunt instruments and killing
- 5:22Speaker 3: each other while we're writing it. But hey, as they
- 5:24Speaker 3: say in the classics, he was perfect for the role.
- 5:27Speaker 3: He's a very good he's very experience. He was fantastic
- 5:31Speaker 3: and all through the years, you know, I think we
- 5:33Speaker 3: finally figured out after thirty five years, directors are good thing.
- 5:40Speaker 2: Yeah, you do need them because you do need it.
- 5:43Speaker 3: Because you know, if I come up with an idea
- 5:45Speaker 3: and Trate doesn't like it, he just goes no, and
- 5:47Speaker 3: I go, come on, yes, and he goes well no,
- 5:50Speaker 3: and I go no yes, and he goes, well no,
- 5:53Speaker 3: But we both got fifty percent of the vote, so
- 5:55Speaker 3: we don't get anywhere. So we started writing this show
- 5:58Speaker 3: in two thousand and seven, and it's only finally that
- 6:01Speaker 3: we got any perfect involved that we finally got to finish.
- 6:04Speaker 1: Oh well, we get to enjoy it this weekend at
- 6:07Speaker 1: the Regal. There are back to back shows on both
- 6:09Speaker 1: Friday and Saturday night. It's going to be wonderful to
- 6:12Speaker 1: have you back in town. It's been too long.
- 6:14Speaker 3: Thanks so much for having us and all the best
- 6:16Speaker 3: with your radio careers. We're at the Regal Theater.
- 6:20Speaker 1: Thank you, Lena onwardly
- 6:22Speaker 3: Thanks guys, thanks, thank you.
