- Brothers in the Box: How we doing everybody welcome back to Brothers in the Box I'm Ilyas here with Ishan and Ishan the time has come the time has come bro it's been it's been how many months it's been six six months I want to say eight months almost of doing September October November December January February March April eight months of doing a podcast every single week leading up to this moment. moment, the culmination of the season. Ladies and gentlemen, the playoffs have begun. And let me just say, wow, it is not disappointed even on day one. Absolutely not. And you know what I really appreciate about this time? now, if you can hear a little bit of background noise, we're currently filming with the window open because it is so nice outside. that we're able to do this and I don't think that there's a better atmosphere for playoffs compared to the nice weather, the playoff hockey, the playoff basketball, the Blue Jays are winning. had an amazing first inning today and I just, there's no, exams are done. There's no better feeling in the There's no better feeling in the world. I'm almost there. I'm almost at, I'm halfway to where you are. Obviously I have exams for the next, think I'm done on May 15th, but once, once that, that date hits, it's going to be, it's going to be nice. but yeah, before we dive into anything else, just a quick recap on day one, of the playoffs. we started off with, a beautiful matchup, a nice, calm, playoff experience, earned matchup from the Carolina Hurricanes, 2-0 shutout, Freddie Anderson, give him his flowers. I mean we started with a bang though. We did. Face off, fight right off the rip, three seconds into the game, captains go at it. I think, okay I know a lot of like, we're not big fans of the Kachuk brothers, but I'll give props to Brady when he wants to get his team going and- Convinced the opposing captain and drop the gloves he does it and he does he's not scared of anyone and I'll give I'll give him props for that. Think the biggest question at the moment is What is gonna be the new Rogers song for the playoffs? Yeah, it's gonna be it's gonna be very interesting last year's pink pony club. No, no late on the line the commercial song commercial song. Yeah. Yeah So we'll see ⁓ We'll see about that. I'm very excited for that. that's a, it's been a high the last two years. Yeah. I think it's a Canadian staple now, to be honest. Just watching those nonstop ads over and over over again. No, the Flyers took a very close one against Pittsburgh, in my opinion, an upset for game one. They're playing in Pittsburgh. Porter Martone with his first NHL goal and it couldn't have come at a better time. It was an absolute missile of a shot. he beat Stuart Skinner. I think it was far side. Eventually became the game winner after Brian Russ scored, but just, it just goes to show you that you have to earn everything. was not his goal. It was not. It was his first playoff goal. But I mean, still, probably one of the biggest goals of his is the biggest goals so far yeah and then very surprising to me ⁓ we're talking about a little bit yesterday but minnesota took care of business in in dallas we're talking with his yesterday as i just said but dallas is in my opinion notorious for dropping game ones but they're able to bounce back they they always do bounce back and i would be surprised if ⁓ tomorrow they play They play tomorrow. I see we see them, go out and give the wild exactly what they did to them. But, Who knows, we'll see that tomorrow, but Caprizov had a disgusting goal. Yeah, I didn't I didn't even get to watch the highlights. Above, above ⁓ Otter's Glove. Yeah. Just kissed. ⁓ actually didn't kiss bars just underneath the ⁓ bar. It just went top shelf, just roofed it. After this podcast, I'm going to go watch every single highlight of Such a beauty. Currently, the Avs and the Kings are playing. It is 1-0 last time I checked. Arturi Leknin had the opening goal. I believe there was a goal that was scored but it was waved off. It was called off. I don't know because I haven't watched the game at all today but there was a delay of game penalty for an unsuccessful challenge. I'm not 100 % sure what kind of happened with that. Yeah. But Montreal and Tampa Bay do play ⁓ on today, which is going to be an absolute banger of a game. I think this is one of those games, it's similar to what the Wild in Dallas series is going to look like. But this is one of those games that's a must watch game. even if you're not a fan of any of those teams, ⁓ It's going to be just of the most probably exciting series that we'll have in the playoffs. And then later on today, we have the Bruins and Sabres game one from Buffalo. It's been 16 years since they've had any playoff hockey. So ⁓ sure fans are already getting super excited for that. They've playoff football with Josh Allen, but he hasn't been able to take them to the promised land. So. I be surprised if the Sabres can't dig into the promised land but who knows? what happens. And then to round out tonight we have Utah, Vegas, Hart is getting the nod from John Tortorella. I wonder there's a little bit of bias when it to Tortorella. Obviously you and I both think that Aiden Hill is not that guy anymore. Yeah. He shouldn't be starting, but Tortorella coached, did he? I'm not sure if he coached. Yeah. think their times might've crossed a touch. Okay. I mean, looking at back of your old players and you have that faith in them. Exactly. I'm sure that's it's a big thing, but I think regardless of that Carter Harder showed that he's the better goaltender out of those two. Um, he's just been dealing with injuries, um, a little bit. But he's back, he's healthy and I wouldn't be surprised if they stick with him throughout the entirety of their playoff run. And what I'm seeing right now on Twitter is Doughty has played a sleeper of a game today. Absolute stinker. Well, I mean, what Are we surprised? No. I want to check this guy's age, bro. How old is he? This King's team, I don't know, he's 36 years old. This Kings team is old. Copa Tar is retiring this year. They brought in Artemi Panarin for what? Just a first round exit to the Habs. Obviously, they dealt the bad hand being on that side of the bracket. It's obviously going to be super tough for them. But ⁓ in opinion, don't think, even before I didn't think bringing in Panarin was the right move for them. fits their timeline a little bit better than. some people. mean, they, he, they can definitely flip them later. ⁓ if he, I don't know exactly what his contract is looking like. He's on eight year. Eight year. Yeah. Okay. So if that turns into a modified no trade, I'm sure he's on a no movement right now. but if it turns into a modified no trade, I'm sure they'll be able to flip them later. I'm getting them onto a team that, is looking to push for the playoffs, but they're, they're moving to a more of a. focusing on Quinton Bifield, I feel like, and Le Ferrier. So we'll see what happens with their team. And then, really, the playoffs starts tomorrow at 7 p.m. For the best team in the league. No, no. when Edmonton's not playing in the playoffs, it just feels not so much like the playoffs. No, it doesn't. I don't know what it is. It's just like, I don't know what... how to explain to all the listeners out there how excited I am just to watch like game one. it doesn't matter it doesn't matter like what I'm doing. I'm sitting on the couch for the entirety of those three hours and I'm putting on a jersey and I'm sticking with that jersey until they lose obviously. And it's just gonna be the best three hours of my life because I'm gonna be over the moon watching them play. Yeah and In my personal opinion, this Oilers team is the best Oilers team that we've taken ⁓ the playoffs in the last three years. ⁓ if I'm being completely, I would, would a hundred percent agree with you. think that a lot of people have talked about how that first run that we made, against Florida went to seven games. We had the depth, we had a bunch of young pieces. ⁓ And we need to develop and obviously we didn't bring back Holloway and Broberg and that's definitely a misstep. I think, that team had a vision, they had the young guys, they had ⁓ those abilities. We have now. And then ⁓ looking at team that it back to the ⁓ finals, you had, we went little bit older, tried to bring in that veteran presence. We have that too. ⁓ We have both huge pieces and crucial things that we struggled with in both of those years was goaltending and defensive ability and be honest Connor Ingram has been absolutely amazing. like ⁓ the fact that okay this guy went from an ahl no no sorry he went from last year not playing at all to an ahl goaltender to being coming up and being our very very safe backup because we had tristan yari now being our starter for the playoffs like ⁓ his progression over the last year has been insane and I'm hoping that he can keep it going. I'm hoping so too. But, Ishan, let's move into ⁓ some of the review of our predictions that we had at the beginning of the year. Let's our standings that we thought would happen and then we can look at kind of the questions that we were asking at beginning of the year and kind of review those. So, first, I believe that I was one and you were two on that list. I believe so. So do want to go with your Atlantic division prediction? And then we can review it after I say mine against standings. Yeah. ⁓ ⁓ Atlantic predictions, we started relatively well at the top. We had Tampa taking the first seed. we the Canadians, then the Panthers, ⁓ then Sens, Leafs. ⁓ Redwings, Sabres, Bruins. Okay. And I had the Canadians, Tampa, Sens, ⁓ Sabres, Redwings, Bruins. And the actual order of the Atlantic was Buffalo Sabres, ⁓ Tampa Lightning, Montreal Canadians, Boston Bruins, ⁓ Ottawa Detroit Redwings, Florida Panthers and last but not least the Toronto Maple Leafs. So, Yishan, I don't think you got any right. I didn't get any of them right. I got one right. Which one did you get right? Tampa finishing second. I yeah. I mean, I feel like I had, I mean, I had the better order though, because I put Tampa ahead of the Canadians. I had the Sens. ⁓ Yishan, I don't think you got any right. Yeah, I didn't get any of them right. I feel like I I mean, I had the better order though, because I put Tampa ahead of the Canadians. You 0 for 8, it doesn't matter. Okay, so we're making this into a competition. It's always a competition. It's always a competition. see how it is. I see how is. In my mind, my roster or my lineup looks more like the NHL standings currently than yours does. But how many did you get right? That's the question. Okay, alright. And it's 0, so I take the Atlantic, so it's 1-0 alias. Metro, I'll go first. Devils, Canes. 0 for 8, it doesn't matter. Okay, so we're making this into a competition. It's always a competition. It's always a competition. see I see In my mind, my roster or my lineup looks more like the NHL standings currently than yours does. But how many did you get right? That's the question. Rangers. Flyers, jackets, caps, islanders, penguins. ⁓ my Lord. And I put canes, devils, rangers, flyers, jackets, caps, islanders, penguins. Okay. So our actual... We just flipped the devils and the canes. actual prediction, or sorry, the actual standings are going to go canes, penguins, flyers, capitals, jackets. Islanders, Devils, Rangers. And so... got zero right. I got one right. I did get zero right. I thought the Rangers would have been better this year. I think we both did. I take the Metro, ladies and gentlemen. I don't think it's crazy for us to both have the Flyers. As a point? No, no, no. Just ⁓ think that... We were pretty accurate about the Flyers. Obviously they finished ahead of the Caps, but... Yeah, the Devils and the Rangers just massive upsets this year. yeah, 100%. Definitely a change in scenery in the playoffs. We both got... You got two points and I got one point. Oh, we both got... We both got the Jackets correct, finishing fifth. So, two to one, you take the Metro, it's one up. One a piece. Let's move to the central, shall we? The central. ⁓ no. Okay, you go first. Okay, I got the first three right. I got ⁓ Stars, Wild, I put Jets, Blues, Mammoth, Preds, Blackhawks. Okay. And I went Stars, Avs, Wild, Blues, Jets, Preds, Blackhawks. And so we both got ⁓ one for the Blackhawks. I got a point for the blues. Wait. No, I got a point for Blues. Oh no no, you did, you got a point for the Blues. Oh no no, I did. You did get a point for the Blues. And you got three points. So, you take Central. I think I did really well this year actually. The Central was a... Okay, first of all... Surprisingly. You went a little... You went very safe with the Central, in my opinion. I went what I thought would would have happened. There's no creativity with your prediction. So your creativity is putting the mammoth third? Yeah, because I thought that they would be better. Well, know, if you moved the abs first and switched the wild and the mammoth, then you would have got it. I know, perfect. I know, perfect. Okay, Pacific. 2 to 1. I had the oil, Vegas, then Vancouver, then Anaheim. Then LA, then Calgary, then Seattle, then the Sharks. Holy. And Ishan? I had Vegas, then the Oil, then LA, then Vancouver, then Anaheim, Calgary, Seattle, Sharks. Okay, so you get one point for Vegas. Mm-hmm. ⁓ was fourth. I get one point for LA. that's it. That's it. And that's a good game. So a score of a two to one with a tie. Yeah. Or three to whatever you want to call it. You take this year's predictions. will beat you ⁓ at the awards, the awards which will be coming very shortly ⁓ they are announced. But just a couple of questions that we had for teams. let's just quickly go over, start at the Atlantic. Buffalo Sabres, will the Buffalo Sabres finally end its postseason drought. Yes, they will. We talked about this last episode. First in the Atlantic. Huge, huge bounce back year. Honestly, I didn't think this talent that they had would fully foster into what it is right now, but it has. I'm not surprised if they make a good run at Boston. Florida, are the Panthers built for a three-peat? No, they are not. No, they are not. The age, I think, caught up with them, the injuries that they had this year caught up with them and thus we have no Florida Panthers in the playoffs this year. Yeah, I'm trying to wonder when was the last time NHL three-peated? I'm guessing the Canadians. Yeah. Right? it's been kind of difficult in recent years, you know what I mean? It's not... I don't think the NHL is a league where you three-peat. The New York Islanders won four consecutive Stanley Cup champions from 1980 to 1983. then after that, the Oilers, that was when the Oilers dynasty started right after the, ⁓ the Islanders dynasty. Okay. Yishan, let's move on to the Canadians. Can the Canadian's youth movement produce another playoff run? I think, ⁓ playoff run? Playoff run. I think, ⁓ no. I think yes. by Cole Caulfield, my Rocket Richard winner. I they got dealt the bad hands by having a team that's very good, very skilled and has a lot of playoff experience in the first round, but I just don't think they have what it takes to beat them. Toronto Maple Leafs, how will Toronto evolve without Mitch Marner? And I think the question wasn't whether they're going to evolve. It was the fact that they devolved. Yeah, they crumbled. Yeah, they did. Austin Matthews ⁓ the latter part of the season. No culture in Toronto. GM's fired. Barube is probably not going to be coaching ⁓ team. He will stay with ⁓ Toronto Maple Leafs, but... Just a lack culture, like I said, in locker room ⁓ and starts the top. Yeah. A team that just doesn't have what it takes to get all the way there. A team who traded for Brandon Carlo and could now up with the first overall pick. And that first overall pick could go to Boston. It could. ⁓ I'm pretty sure It's not protected. If it is, that's a very smart move. They trusted Bren and Karlo enough? They trusted their team enough? Is it a ⁓ protected? ⁓ it is top 5 protected. Okay. So if the Lees do get into the top 5, they will keep their pick. But trading Fraser Minton, I think. What happens, and I've really understood this, what happens if they get that top five pick? They keep their pick, but then they get the pick from next year? Next year's pick is unconditional. Okay. Which is obviously not the worst thing in the world either. No, it's not. This trade looks very nice for Boston. It does. Let's move to the Metro. Just a couple of questions in the Metro. Did Carolina... do enough to tackle its scoring woes. I think it did. I don't think so. I think they're obviously they're a little bit lackluster. I don't think so. I know that they got Ehlers Stankhoven stepped up. Stankhoven has been playing well. Set Jarvis has also stepped up. And so has Ajo. just not 100 % sold on their ability to score in the times that they really need it. Yeah, I think, know, obviously... have a great defense. Don't get me wrong. Yeah, they're... Freddie Anderson is playing well so far. And ⁓ played well at the end of the season. He was a little bit shaky at the beginning, but he stepped into his role. they obviously are a team that can score. I don't know if they can score, particularly when it matters, which is why I don't think they're going to make it all the way to the final. ⁓ But I do think they have what it takes to win a couple rounds. Yeah, for sure. For sure. 100%. I agree. The Philadelphia Flyers have the Flyers upgraded enough at the right spots in order to make the playoffs. they made the playoffs. They did. They did their job. You can agree or disagree with me this, but do you think that it's a possibility that the Philadelphia Flyers are in the playoffs because of what me and you like to call the talkative effect? I honestly I wouldn't I wouldn't be surprised because do you think that next year when they go and try and make a run that they're just too gassed and they don't have it I I honestly I don't surprised even this year that they made the play players have stepped up when it matters like Trevor Zegrist has had an amazing season Matvei Vichkov has made some some great strides and in his development as well and a lot of players have kind of stepped up when they needed to and pushed in that extra that ⁓ that much more to make to make the playoffs but I feel it's very similar to Vancouver I don't see them making the playoffs again next year. I think it's a possibility. ⁓ I could see it but there's lot of key kind of factors that still need fine tuning. Obviously I think their goal-tening is not good enough. No and they're still very young. There's still there's still a relatively young team. I think there's some older guys that they can start moving out. Yeah. And then bringing in even more younger guys to fit around, know, Porter Marton, Michkoff, even Zgress. He's not super old either. So working around those guys and using players like Travis Konekne, Owen Tippett and all those guys to make that happen is more than doable. But I like the spot that they're in right now. Having some good playoff experience for those younger guys is very important. Colorado Avalanche, is their supporting cast, and now this is in the central for those of you who haven't clued in, is the supporting cast of the Avalanche enough or do they need to add more? I think there's a little bit of both. Yeah, honestly, I would say their supporting cast is one of the best in the league. Their depth is insane. Yeah, and does that come a little bit from the adjustments they made at the deadline? I do think so. I think it's a very big piece having Naz and Kadri on your team and playing in those depth positions is definitely Nick Ra as well. he's I don't know if he'll come into his own. He's an older guy. But having him there is as a veteran presence on that third line who can win you draws. is ⁓ to Brock Nelson. Maybe putting him on the fourth line and making that fourth line really solid and being able to trust all four lines for Jared Badnar, I think is a huge plus for them and is huge for going deep in the playoffs. ⁓ I feel a lot of people know this by now, but we've talked about it multiple times, but having that third line, That Marshann line in the playoffs last year did the dirty work for them. scored goals against third lines that were just not up to their standard because you don't usually have ⁓ level talent on your third line. Sometimes players that are performing well and are just in the nitty gritty or have that potentially become superstars but they're not there yet. But having a player like Brad Marshann or Nazem Kadri ⁓ on third line is crucial. That would be very, very nice. I agree. And this last question for the central, what adjustments will Glenn Gullitzen make for the Dallas Stars to reach the cup final? And I think those are questions that we will see answers to now. Yeah. The team has very good. I think that their run this year is going to be heavily dependent on how well Auditor can play. Yeah, I think, know, obviously his first game was not it at all. Um, he, he was, uh, who's, who's playing like a prime Skinner. Um, in those moments, I don't know if I'd go so far as to say that, but he, landed five goals, but I mean, obviously he's playing against a good team. There's a little bit of nerves there, I'm guessing. Um, but you've been to the playoffs multiple times and I know I, if I was anyone in that locker room, especially, um, Glenn Goatson. I'm expecting more from my goaltender. 100%. We moved to Pacific. For the Anaheim Ducks, is this season the season that the Ducks reach the playoffs again? And Ishan, yes it is. And I couldn't be happier for them. I know we're playing them in the first round, but I really like the Ducks. I really like Cutter. They're fun team to watch. They are a very fun team to watch. It'll be a good test for the Oilers. We'll put them in their place. We will. For the Oilers is this version of the Oilers as good as the past two seasons? We talked about this at the beginning of the episode. I think it's better. I agree. There is a little more youth in the lineup, which is necessary there the the goaltending is better I would say and I expect that Dry Cytl will be even better than he has been in seasons past because he's gotten the rest the last few days. top of that, Bouchard the best he's ever been in his career at this moment in time. And this guy steps up in the playoffs. He plays even better than he does in the regular season. And so ⁓ if think he played well, and I know a lot of you who are listening and a lot of ⁓ the of the NHL don't think he played well and it isn't deserving of the Norris, which he 100 % is, He is going to be even better in this playoff run to the cup for the Oilers. Yeah. I know a lot of, I don't know. I, I, can, you can vouch for me on this or not, but I've told a lot of people that Dry Settle I think is going to win the cons might this year, ⁓ I, in my opinion, makes a lot of sense. ⁓ you look at him, he's got a little bit more rest than McDavid does. He's, I, I wouldn't be surprised if he leads the, if he leads the league in, ⁓ in scoring in the playoffs either. Definitely in goals. Yeah. I think he's going to have a very big impact on that second line. The power play is going to be that much better with him there. Yeah, the power play has been very lackluster. Yeah, I think in the past couple games, especially against the Canucks, it was nice. It's against the Canucks. Yeah, obviously not the best team. But they showed that they can still score on the power play and having that extra threat there that's just going make it that much more scary is so crucial. Yeah. For the Vancouver Canucks. Is their current center situation good enough for them to compete in the loaded West? And I think the question should have been, is the roster good enough to compete in the league? And the question to that answer is no. was so bad that they had to get rid of Grinyuze. and Patrick Alveen, or not Patrick Alveen, well, he's gone now. But Jim Rutherford. addressed this question the exit interviews and said that he knew that Quinn Hughes wanted to leave and was going to leave before the season started. Interesting. So ⁓ just goes to show you, I think, what the culture is like in Vancouver. Yeah. I mean, it's ⁓ bit toxic. Petey wants to stay. I don't know why. I don't know why Roman wants to be captain. think a change of scenery for Petey would be nice for him and nice for his career. But that's something that him and his agent have to talk about and get Adam Foote out of there. ⁓ not been what anyone thought he was. I don't know why they hired him because they hired him because Quint Hughes liked him. And Quint Hughes knew he was leaving at the beginning of the season, so what was the point? I hope that they can ⁓ some moves this offseason and kind of set themselves up for a successful rebuild. I'm not so sure that the Canucks are even capable of doing that, but I'd to see some kind of effort be made, especially with depending on who they draft. their draft definitely matters a lot. They have a very, very ⁓ solid chance to get that first round pick. ⁓ think it's going to Toronto to be honest. I'm not I'm not even kidding. Who who knows? I wish I was kidding. The last question for the Vegas Golden Knights, how will their defense look without Alex Picciorangelo? In my opinion, it's it's so, so much worse. It has ⁓ the broadened Rasmus Anderson at deadline as well. I and kind of fill that void that they're missing. I don't think that Rasmus Anderson has done a good enough of a job of filling that void. I he's a great player, but there's something missing in that Vegas defense. And I think that's their biggest hole. Other than goaltending, we'll see how shaky or how solid Carter Hart is going to be in this first playoff matchup for him in ever, I believe. Yeah. I don't think he's ever been to the playoffs. Cause he was on the Flyers. Yeah. But they kind of went the Oilers route and ⁓ relied less on defense and on ⁓ offensive firepower in Mitch Marner. we'll see how, ⁓ that hasn't really been the solution the Oilers the last seasons, but we'll see if it ends up working out for the Golden Knights. So now Ishan, Let's get into our playoff predictions. me, out of the West, I have Colorado in 4 and then ⁓ in 7. This might be a spicy one, but the Mammoth in seven and then the Oilers in five. Okay. Coming out the West for me, have Colorado in five. think the Kings, somehow win one game. think it could be this game. It could be this game. It's close. It's close game right now. I think I have Dallas in seven as well. I have Vegas in six. I think that playoff experience will take them through. They have the offensive firepower and I think they want that rematch with of course the Edmonton Oilers in five as well. Okay. And then let's finish out the rest of the West. I have Colorado against Dallas. So Colorado in seven. I would agree with that. I think I have a very similar thing. And then I have Edmonton in six against Utah. For the conference final for the West, I have Edmonton in 7 over the Avs. yeah. I have for Vegas and Edmonton, I have Edmonton in 6 as well. And I also have Edmonton in 6 against Colorado. I don't trust them to go to game 7 and win. At least I don't have the confidence right now in them. But It's more than possible that they're able to get it done. Okay, let's look at the East you go first. Yeah starting off in the in the East I have Buffalo in six. Okay and then the Lightning in seven. Okay Carolina in six and Pittsburgh in seven. Okay. I similar but different. I have Buffalo also in six. I have Montreal in seven. I have Carolina in five and I have Pittsburgh in seven. Yeah. but yeah, a little bit similar, but different. Yeah. I don't know. I don't know. Obviously I don't know if the Habs, the Habs have what it takes to beat the Lightning, it's going to be lot of a lot on this first game that comes up. I think they're going to win tonight. And that's, that's, that's a big thing. Upsetting them in their own in Florida. think they're ready. Okay. They feel Dobesh is going to be on his game today. They're definitely, they're definitely an exciting team and they're definitely going to have a lot of fans there, even though it's in, it's in Tampa. The team has a massive fan base. rounding out the Eastern Conference, I have the Lightning ⁓ in five against Buffalo and also in five against Pittsburgh. ⁓ And then I have the Lightning in six against Carolina. Okay. For me, I have Buffalo in six, sorry, Montreal in six against Buffalo. then on the other side, I have Carolina in six against Pittsburgh. And for our conference ⁓ champion the East, ⁓ have in seven. Okay. So that for me sets up in Oilers. Montreal final, all Canadian final. And I think Edmonton will take that in five. For me, it sets up a Oilers and Tampa final. I think we beat a Florida team this year. I don't think it goes to seven, but I do think it goes to six. Okay. And there you have it folks. Those are our raw playoff predictions. Obviously, know, a little biased for Oilers fans, but we truly believe in our team. There's going to be a lot of tough matchups for every single team to make it where they are. let us know your guys' Get hyped for the playoffs. Yeah. And make sure to tune into that Lightning and Abs game. Yeah. There's a couple other storylines I just want to go through. Dreisel is going to be back for game one. Dickinson will also be back for game one for the Oilers. This battle of Pennsylvania, think is either that. or this Habs-Tempo Bay matchup is the best. Round one matchup. agree. think a lot of people have slept on the Pittsburgh and Flyers matchup. think not a lot of people are talking about that, but make sure to tune into that one as well. Yeah. then let's just do a quick player of the week. Do want to do a first day the playoffs player of the week? Sure. I'm going to give it to Porter Martone ⁓ as the player of the week. can do the honorable mention, but ⁓ I think it's just being that young and scoring the game winning goal in the playoffs is such a huge thing to do. He's played what? seven games in the NHL. But massive goal for him. I'm going to give the honorable mention to ⁓ Freddie Anderson. Stellar performance, shutout, 22 a lot of high quality looks that Ottawa had. And he just really came through for them. And when Carolina needed him most, he was there. So I give that an honorable mention. The Avalanche are currently winning 2-0. We're going to go watch that game at this moment. We hope you guys enjoy the rest of your Sunday and we will see you next week to review maybe what will be the end of round one for some teams. Quite possibly. Quite possibly. Take care guys and we'll see you next week.
