A Maryland father lost his life Sunday night after bravely rushing back into his burning home to save his 10-year-old child—only to be overcome by flames. The fire, sparked by possibly overheated sparklers left in a trash can, erupted around 9:40 PM and quickly consumed the two-story house. Firefighters found the father deceased on the second floor, but the child was safely rescued. Authorities urge caution: used fireworks can stay dangerously hot—soak them before disposal to prevent tragedies like this.
