• Roc: Welcome back, swappers. It is Jersey Swap Podcast. We got ourselves a Thursday morning drop for the pod. Rock on the mic. C dub on the mic. We're heading into week six. We got some good football this weekend. We got some good games. C-Dub: We got s we got a lot of good games. A lot of good games. Roc: And I I'm sorry if I got a little distracted there. I just got a a call when my phone was on do not disturb. So we got some good good football this week. And we got week six starting Thursday night. Seahawks at Broncos in mile high. Seahawks favored by two and a half with an overunder of forty and a half. Dub, initial thoughts? C-Dub: Let me be clear, Rock. I mean no offense. Roc: Yeah. Yeah. C-Dub: I think the Seahawks shit pump. Roc: What was the text I sent you today? C-Dub: What'd you send me today? You said something for the pod, right? You said s you said you have a pot a take for the pod, right? Roc: Yeah. I really don't I I really don't know why I C-Dub: Yeah no I'm looking now. Roc: can't get get off them and why they must just have a soft spot in my heart. But man, this Denver this I know this Denver C-Dub: I why you can't that's why I said Yeah That's why I said I mean no disrespect! That's why I said that. Roc: team, man, I don't know, bro. I I something about I I always just think that if they just If they they they just click. If their offense just clicks then I really don't know who can beat them in the league. And it hasn't happened yet. And maybe I'm just gonna keep on banking it. But I don't know, man. Peyton took over the play calling last week and they still looked horrible. I don't know. C-Dub: Nothing, dude. No I I mean, I I think is the big winner in this Davis Webb. Roc: Mm maybe, may maybe. C-Dub: the questions are off him. I mean I think and I think that I've now that we're a week removed from Sean Payton taking back play calling, was was was Davis Webb ever going to be successful? Roc: I don't I he was getting head coaching gigs this off season. That's the reason C-Dub: I know and Roc: why Peyton gave him play calling 'cause he didn't want to lose him. C-Dub: I know and then I mean, but is he the problem? Like what is I don't I I don't I can't diagnose. I'm not a football doctor, but there's a problem there. And we talked about it last time. Roc: I I really think right now I really think right now it's just they they can't run the ball and Bo Nix is just regressing regressing this season, right now. Just as a as of today he's just been regressing and maybe it's just he's in a little slump. But yeah, I don't know. This is both teams coming into it, three and two. Seahawks defense's been elite this year. Fewest fewest yards allowed per game in the league and Denver's offense ranks twenty sixth in scoring at under twenty points per game. So it kind of seems like a recipe for a Seahawk ship pumping. C-Dub: And a recipe for the under, in my opinion. I like the under a lot here. Roc: Yeah. I four forty and a half, I don't mind that. But it C-Dub: I know, I think that's it's just it's just a it's a statistically lower when you look at the grand scheme of the slate. It's it's very low, but I mean I Seahawks don't really have a run game, and the Broncos still have a defense, and then the Seahawks defense just kind of has been on a dominant run here, and I don't see the Broncos getting right in this game. If this is a get r if they if they had a g if there was a get right game, this ain't it. Roc: You you want to hear a crazy stat dub that I saw. C-Dub: Give it to me, Rock. Give it to me. Roc: When we were talking about the Seahawks last week and how the run games just vanished and how they're so JSN dependent. Obviously JSN's been balling. He's having another crazy year. He C-Dub: Hell yeah. Roc: leads leads the NFL with five hundred and eighty-three receiving yards and seven TDs through the first five weeks. JSN's accounted for forty nine percent of the Seahawks receiving yards. Denver's entire receiving group Has combined for five hundred and twenty nine yards and three touchdowns. The entire receiving core for the Broncos is less than just JSN. C-Dub: It's just sad 'cause they they they have guys. They have guys. It is unbelievable. Roc: It's unbelievable. It's unbelievable. Sor Sorton's been a Sutton's been a dude. They go out and they get Waddle and he's been nothing. He's had like one good game. Whatever the week he put up like a hundred and thirty. They're just not giving him many shots. And yeah, I don't know. Passer Tain's ankle. I don't I C-Dub: And we kind of Roc: don't know if he's gonna be playing yet. JSM we talked about, he rolled his ankle last week, but he's he we just got the Shafty tweet. He's good to go. So Seahawks should be at full strength. Broncos, I I gotta hear if Passer Tain and what's his name are playing. The other white cornerback. Riley Moss. Passertain C-Dub: You look at the Yep. Roc: and Riley Moss, they're both out last week, so we gotta see if they're both gonna be back this week or not. But It's looking grim for Denver. C-Dub: Yeah, i and I know they're going a mile high, all this, all that, but I mean, what bow are we gonna get? It hasn't been a good bow. And with Boat, I mean, he takes the ups and the downs. He's s i he's similar to a Jameis where watching him play football is an experience. You get a lot of good mixed with a lot of bad. It makes it fun, but it hasn't been fun. I mean, I w I want them to get right. They're a fun team. The league's better when when Denver's good, but I s I see ho this is a this is will be a Seahawks domination game. Roc: Yeah, with all the the stats and everything I just backed up, how this should be a Seahawks, get in there and get out game. Give me Denver. Give me Denver dub. Give me Denver. No. C-Dub: I n I know y I know you're dying on the hill and I'm not gonna die I'm not gonna die with you, but I'll I'll be there to watch. Roc: This this might be an I'm an idiot clip, I can't lie. This one might be very, very bad. And before we get in the next matchup though, I just wanna say we have a great, great Jersey Jersey matchup tomorrow. Both teams are wearing C-Dub: yes, yes, yeah. Roc: their color rusher throwbacks. So Broncos wearing their orange crush and Seahawks wearing their what bright yellow, old school blue, whatever it was. So C-Dub: Yeah, what yeah. Roc: just the the visuals will be on on point tomorrow, just for the for the watchers. C-Dub: yeah. I'm excited for it. And we'll have plays for that. We'll have plays. Roc: Yeah, we'll put up tomorrow. next game. Sunday, nine thirty in London. Houston Texans versus Jacksonville Jaguars. Jaguars favored by two and a half with a overunder of forty two and a half. C-Dub: Rock. This is my Roc: yeah. C-Dub: ga this is my game of the week. Roc: I love I love that. I love it. C-Dub: This is my game of the week. I think this is gonna be a great game, and I will be tapped in for this one. I'll be hungover, but I'll be t I'll be I I will be tapped into this. I am very excited for this game. Roc: Love that. C-Dub: I think there's some big storylines here. Montgomery's week to week. Jags first division game. Texans are already one and one in their division. I think we haven't seen the Jags get into it into a division fight. I mean, they're obviously their home, so you know them in London. Roc: Yeah. Home in London. C-Dub: I think it's to be a great game and it's DEF CON one for the the Houston Texans right now. This I think a win here kinda steadies the ship. It kinda gets gets buy in from me with their lackluster start. I don't I haven't looked at anything with Marv getting in. I'm not sure. He probably I'm assuming he probably won't have a big role in this one. But I mean Nico's still gonna be be doing his thing. I think this will be a close game. My thing is I was looking at Texans defensive stats. They're currently twenty third in opponent passing yards. And Jackson proved last week that they ha they have the ability to do the air raid with Strange and Washington. So I'm excited to see this game. This is one that I am very excited to watch. And it's crazy that the Texans have a must win that game this early in the season. Roc: Yeah. I I kinda love you putting the nuts on the table for the game of the week 'cause I actually I love this matchup. Even though it's one and four versus four and one. we talked about it last pod. I mean, if Texans win this game, they could they get a little a little sneaky. See what the sprinkle is for the division. I I mean, I don't know. Jacksonville's defense, allowing just fourteen points per game, second in the league right now, which I kind of feel like has gone under the radar. Because Tila C-Dub: I mean, honestly the Jags have gone under the radar in in general, I feel. Roc: They're yeah, i in general, they're great team, but I feel like whenever you think about them, it's like, T Law, Parker Washington. You don't really nobody really talks about their their defense. Obviously Liam Cohn's offensive coach, so that always gets the headlines for the turnaround. But on the other side of things, the Texans, you said that their passing game in defense ranks twenty third. I think Will Anderson and Dino Danielle Hunter finally woke up a little bit. They had four sacks last week. Granted it was against Tennessee. But I think they might continue continue on. Cause Eagles, Jalen Carter, they were getting to T Law, they were pressuring him the whole day. That's why that game was so close when it really shouldn't have been. So I think that would be a big factor in this week's game. Get those two studs. Anderson, depoy, favorite. Daniel Hunter last year, underrated fourteen and a half sacks. So obviously, you already said the the Marv trade, big deal. Reunite with Stroud. And you said You don't know what kind of impact they're gonna have, but I I have a heavy nuke play for the listeners. I looked at the Marvin Harrison receiving C-Dub: a nuke, a rock nuke. Roc: Marvin Harrison receiving line as of today, twenty six and a half yards. I love the over. I love the over. C-Dub: I think a lot of people beyond that too. I mean Roc: I think he is gonna I think he's gonna get enough snaps. I I think they're they're gonna get him up to speed, but I think he's gonna come out there rejuvenated, ready to show the world that he's still a stud. Because I think he I think he was just sick of it in Arizona. I think he was just being a little bit maybe a little prima donna, a little dramatic, but you gotta be a wide receiver one, you gotta have that little diva in you. And I think he was just kind of totally checked out in Arizona. I think he's gonna come back for vengeance and I think he's gonna look really good. And I think Stroud's gonna make it a point of. emphasis to get in the rock. C-Dub: I'd love to see it. I would love to see a rock. And for my my pick'em, I'm taking I am going to take I'm I've been back and forth on this all day. I'm gonna go Jags. I think the Jags still edge this out. I think they do cover two and a half, but I think it'll be a really good game. Roc: Yeah, my pick, I I think we might have a theme in this podcast 'cause my brain is telling me obviously go with the Jags. They're legit. They're a great team. Probably one of the best teams in the AFC. Just talked about it with Seattle. They're one of the best teams in the league and I went with Denver. But you know, my heart I'm I want the Texans. I'm taking the Texans this week. I think I C-Dub: Hey, do it. Roc: I think this is the momentum game that they're gonna start rolling. Obviously last week was the the cupcake. with Tennessee, you know, feel themselves a little bit, feel a little bit better and I think they carry it carry it into this week. C-Dub: Hey, guess we'll see. My game of the week though. Roc: Yeah. Alright, next one Ravens at Browns. Ravens favored by five and a half with a overunder of forty two and a half. C-Dub: This is a Browns gut gut check. This, I mean, I've been high on the Browns. If you listen to this, I'm high I'm I don't know why. It's one of those one of my sicko th takes, I guess. This is one of those I think this is a must cover game for them. I'm not saying that they need to get out of this game with a win, because they still technically do have a winning record. This is do they it's it's a do they belong. Do they belong in this conversation with a division that is wide open as I've been saying often. So I mean I think it I think it's gonna be interesting if Lamar plays. I I don't I there's not really much word out. They're keeping that close to the chest from what I've seen. But I mean, this is a do the Browns have some fight in them? Roc: Yeah, I think this is what we talked about. This is kinda like are th are they gonna be a threat the rest of the way or are they just a good story the first month of the season for Cleveland. I think this is a game that you kinda have to show up and show that, you know, I'm gonna be I'm gonna be around in the AFC North for the rest of the year. Obviously Snoop Huntley is serviceable. He showed showed out on prime time against the Falcons. He can definitely go out there and win a game. I kinda like love the under in this, forty two and a half. Browns defense really good. Their offense lackluster. If Lamar's not playing backup quarterback gets a good Cleveland defense, I I don't know, I kinda like the under in this game. C-Dub: Yeah, and again, who knows if Concepcion's playing, he's still in the concussion protocol. And he's a big piece of that. Roc: Yeah. C-Dub: one two punch with him in Boston. So it'll be exciting to see if I mean exciting to see if he plays. I hope he does, 'cause I think the two of them have really been sh been pla been showing out as rookies. So I'm excited to see that. And then it's we got a mid Deshaun last week. It's what which one will show up today? Or not today, Roc: Yeah. C-Dub: but on game day, which one will show up? Roc: Yeah, I think the Ravens are gonna send some pressure, a lot of pressure throughout throughout this game. interesting stat Cleveland's O line has been very, very, very pitiful this year. Watson was sacked eight times last week against the Jets and got hit thirteen times. Watson has nineteen sacks this year leading the NFL as of week five or week six. That's no bueno. And a Baltim Baltimore defense that they put on their hard hat, they go out there, they make plays, they wanna hit they wanna hit guys. I I think they're they're gonna send send some pressure on these guys this week. C-Dub: Yeah. one play I will be taking if Conception's out. I'm just gonna I'm just gonna take Judy Yards. I'd I'd like to see him Roc: Domanda. C-Dub: step up and do something. I mean, prove prove to the other we talked about trade deadline. Prove to other teams out there that you're still a guy. Roc: Yeah. C-Dub: so if Conception's out, I'll be taking that. But for my pick here, I am gonna take the Ravens to cover. I'm high Roc: Mm-hmm. C-Dub: on the Browns. I like I just don't I just It's a division game and the Ravens are obviously the better team. We haven't even talked about Henry. I mean, th their defense is good. It's gonna be ex it's gonna be an exciting chess match there. See if they can get them going. But I got the Ravens covering this one. Roc: Yeah, hopefully Conception plays and Lamar doesn't play because the dogs are barking. Give me Cle Cleveland. This is for you. My live dog, my live dog of the week C-Dub: I love that take, Rock. I love that take. Live dog. Roc: are the Cleveland Browns dub. I think this is divisional game. Five and a half is too many points. I think it's gonna be a field goal game. And I think the Browns, if Snoop Puntley's playing, I think the Browns are gonna load the box. They wanna shut down Henry. Henry went crazy in prime time against the Falcons. First and foremost, they're gonna wanna shut him down and make Snoop Puntley be a passer and see see what he can do. So give me Cleveland, give me the Browns, and I love them as my dog this week. Love them. C-Dub: No, it's a great I I like him too. I you I'm high on him. I I I hope I hope it happens. I just don't see a path. Especially if Lamar plays. And and that line'll move too, so we'll see we'll see what happens Roc: Yeah. C-Dub: there. Roc: We'll see come Sunday. Yeah. Next game, New Orleans Saints at the New York Giants. Saints favorites by one and a half points with an overunder of forty five and a half. C-Dub: is another game where Rock you can tell me if I'm an idiot, but I think the Giants are the better team. Roc: So do I I feel like a broken record the last three weeks I've said the exact same thing. The exact same thing. C-Dub: I know we keep doing this. We keep doing this. And it keeps happening. And this is another, I mean, this is another gut track. I also sound like a broken record because I'm starting to see S some power rankings. I might be a sicko for this looking at a ton of power rankings and searching on Twitter, just NFL power rankings, to see where the Giants are top ten. And there are some out there. There are some out there, and I Roc: You saw the top I I saw one the other day. C-Dub: my heart, my heart really really grew. I'm like the Grinch. My heart just grew a little bit when I saw that. prove you aren't frauds. And I am I I think the G men, I mean, I'm obviously gonna take them for the pick'em. We're doing this talk track now. I want to see my team on every top ten power ranking. And I think if they can I mean the and again the Saints they're not good, but they're not something you can play around with with their offense. And we'll see where it goes. Rock, how you feeling about this one? Roc: Yeah, I I obviously I l I like the Giants in this one. Broken record. I think we're the better team overall. And I the first thing that I wanna see and I wanna notice is what kind of energy we come out with, the Giants come out with after the tie. 'Cause it kind of is like one of those not like sick feelings that you get after a tie, 'cause it's a game that you should have won. then you should have lost and you and you walk away with a tie out. I want to just see what kind of energy they come out with if there's still a little bit of that jet lag where they're like, last week, or if they come out and they're like, All right, that week's past us. We let one get away, let's go do our job, let's get to four one and one, and let's head into the bye week feeling confident, feeling good. So I think you gotta continue continue to target neighbors, continue to target likely, drive the ball downfield. Take some shots. Hopefully we get a good Jameis game. Just like last week. He keeps momentum going and he's heating up. Catch a little bit of fire. And I like the Giants in this game. C-Dub: Rock, I have a little game for you though, before we move on from this one. I'm setting the line at five and a half. Can you guess what line I'm setting? Roc: Five and a half. Interceptions C-Dub: How many times does JJ McCarthy touch the field and get a snap? Roc: gonna take the gimme the over. I can see him getting six six play calls and maybe he spins one out. Maybe he throws airs one out. C-Dub: I I mean teams teams they have to they have to be a little smarter on the offense when they you have to you have to know that teams are gonna tee up. There's a real world C-Dub: where are we going with this one? Roc: there's a real world where I could see them being and eight, and nine maybe at the deadline. And the name that's getting brought up a lot of buzz is Cleo Mac, which I could definitely see. But another name that Adam Scheffner went out and talked about in a recent interview was Justin Herbert. I love Dart. I love him. And Herbert's having his down year. And it looks bad. It looks really, really gross right now. Harbaughs love each other. Harbaugh's harping helping Harbaugh's. This is a fantasy land. Dart and two first for Herbert. He's already under contract. It's not even that bad of a contract. And you can't diminish his talent. He's an absolute stud. He's putting up five thousand yards in forty touchdown seasons with no offensive line and no weapons. He's still a cre cream of the crop quarterback play in this league. I would love to see that trade happen. Dub dot C-Dub: Yuck. Roc: Really? C-Dub: Dart's the guy. I mean, why would we go and get Roc: I I C-Dub: JJ then? Why would we go and get a guy that we can get for cheap? And then get and then get Herbert? I I mean, you're this is y this is a fantasy of us getting rid of Dart. This that's the fantasy. I don't want to I don't want to Roc: I said it was fantasyland. But if week nine comes around the teams it's fantasy land, but if if C-Dub: accept that fantasy. I'm not that's a nightmare. I love Dart. Roc: Yeah. C-Dub: Dart's got the city, Dart's got love. I love Dart. Roc: I love him too and I want him to be the guy, but Herbert doesn't miss a start. He plays through everything and he has better traits, better numbers. He's done it. Roc: Give up the guy that hasn't made it through a full season in two years. C-Dub: Well Well the the i the injury Roc: What what what tell me. C-Dub: he ha the injury he had, it's not like he's a glass can he got boomed. His leg got boomed. I Roc: Yeah. And then last year, what the five games that he missed after he started? Five out of the eight weeks that he played? C-Dub: Some of them were just s rook rookie runs where he gets a concussion here and there. I I don't see it Roc: I love Dar I love everything about him. He has that it factor, but you're telling me you wouldn't want to take the quarterback that six six, two forty, that throws the ball eighty yards and doesn't miss a game? He hasn't missed a game. Plays through everything. He had a broken hand last year playing through it. And he's never had an offensive line. He's never had a C-Dub: You And you think Roc: real wide receiver one. C-Dub: you think if Dart didn't Dart didn't have those injuries he would play, he was trying to play through the leg. I I I just I just think it'd be a slap in the face from the Giants organization to get rid of Dart right now. It'd be a slap in the face to me. C-Dub: I would assume that as well. 'Cause I think if Beijing plays this game's a pick'em. Roc: I think if Bajent plays, I love Falcons, honestly. From what I saw last week, he's not a starting quarterback in the league. He was just missing guys, but I don't even know C-Dub: No, not at all. Roc: if I don't know if Bajant would be starting. Honestly. I think he might he might go to case. C-Dub: I I well the only reason I s the only reason I say that is because Ben Johnson's been really sneaky about in all his press conferences about who's starting. He has like he got asked Roc: Yeah. C-Dub: I think he said we have three guys who can play football. So it's sneaky there. I mean I would start k I would start case. But I'm st I'm gonna call back to our one of our first pods. I still think that Caleb Caleb should be suspended for a couple more games with how he reacted to his injury. that's neither here nor there. Th the thing is I'm scared to do a pick'em here because we don't have a starting quarterback from the Bears. if if Caleb's Roc: Or C-Dub: in Roc: or the Falcons, yeah, technically. I'm not sure what the spread lands at there, if Caleb does. Maybe like might be a four and a half point game. Five and a half? I don't know. Roc: Yeah. I I if Caleb plays I like the Bears, if he doesn't play I like the Falcons. simple as that, honestly. I still think the Bears are a really good squad, but from what I saw from Beijing last week was really, really ugly football. And the Falcons offense has still been playing really well besides the the the patty melt that Tua threw against the Ravens. Yeah. C-Dub: The cameo? The little cameo, the little sh little the little thing he did there? Yeah. that was awesome. Roc: We got a sneaky battle of running the rock in this game. Chicago ranks first in NFL and rush rush offense and Atlanta ranks second. Did you know that, Dub? C-Dub: Is Manungai back? Roc: I don't know. See he he has turf toe, they said, or maybe has turf toe and it sounds like it's a nothing injury, but turf toe actually sucks. Like it's not even I hate the name of it because they call it turf toe and it's like, dude, anyone could play on it, but then it's really your entire foot is like hanging and it's like broken and and C-Dub: Just mangled. Is I I don't see I don't see a world where they do stumble 'cause the Cardinals aren't a good team. At home in LA they they should do the job, but is this a must win for LA? C-Dub: I I I wanna say yes, but I looked at their schedule recently coming up and they've got some they've got some layups coming down the stretch in the immediate future. this th this is I would I would label this as a must win 'cause as in their division, where they got the the Niners, if they wanna have a chance at the division, get home field, they have to kinda start winning some games out here. And the last time these two teams met was last year in a forty to forty tie. So that over under would have slammed by about a good thirty points on top of that.
