- 0:00Speaker 1: Hello everyone, This is Gilgore, and this is the story
- 0:02Speaker 1: of Genesis six, the Great Flood and the birth of
- 0:05Speaker 1: a new covenant. In the ancient world, where the skies
- 0:07Speaker 1: were heavy with secrets and the earth held mysteries in
- 0:09Speaker 1: its bosom, an unexpected tale unfurled a narrative that would
- 0:14Speaker 1: reverberate through time and echo in the hearts of generations.
- 0:17Speaker 1: This is the story of Genesis six, a chapter marked
- 0:20Speaker 1: by despair, divine judgment, and the dawn of hope. It
- 0:23Speaker 1: was a time when humanity thrived, yet their hearts turned
- 0:25Speaker 1: toward wickedness. Sin like a dark shadow stretched across the land.
- 0:30Speaker 1: The descendants of Adam had multiplied, filling the world with
- 0:33Speaker 1: their presence. However, instead of love, compassion, and mercy, they
- 0:37Speaker 1: embraced violence and corruption. The earth was filled with chaos,
- 0:40Speaker 1: and the cries of the oppressed could be heard as
- 0:42Speaker 1: they rose to the heavens. God, who had looked upon
- 0:45Speaker 1: his creation with joy in the beginning, saw the deep
- 0:47Speaker 1: seated evil within humanity. Their thoughts were continually bent on wickedness,
- 0:51Speaker 1: and his heart was filled with pain. Each day brought
- 0:54Speaker 1: forth a new wave of sin that rippled through the
- 0:56Speaker 1: hearts of men. God's sorrow was profound. He had created
- 1:00Speaker 1: humans in his image, and yet they had chosen paths
- 1:02Speaker 1: filled with destruction. It is during these dark days that
- 1:05Speaker 1: the scripture speaks of the Nephelim giants that roamed the earth,
- 1:09Speaker 1: offspring of the sons of God and the daughters of men.
- 1:13Speaker 1: Some interpretations depict them as fallen angels who took mortal
- 1:17Speaker 1: women as their brides, giving rise to a lineage of
- 1:19Speaker 1: mighty beings. The world was not only facing moral decay,
- 1:23Speaker 1: but also strange and fearsome creatures that spread further terror
- 1:25Speaker 1: among the people. Seeing how far humanity had fallen, God
- 1:29Speaker 1: decided that enough was enough. His patience had worn thin,
- 1:32Speaker 1: and his wrath prepared to descend upon the world. It
- 1:34Speaker 1: was here that the story pivoted towards hope amidst impending doom.
- 1:38Speaker 1: But amidst the chaos, there emerged a glimmer of light, Noah,
- 1:41Speaker 1: a man of righteousness. Unlike those around him, Noah found
- 1:45Speaker 1: favor in the eyes of the Lord. He walked with integrity,
- 1:48Speaker 1: adhering to the principles of justice, mercy, and faith. He
- 1:51Speaker 1: was a beacon of hope and a treacherous world, a
- 1:54Speaker 1: man whose heart resonated with the cries of his creator. God,
- 1:57Speaker 1: seeing Noah's faithfulness, chose him to accomplish a many mental task.
- 2:01Speaker 1: He spoke intimately with Noah, revealing his plan to cleanse
- 2:04Speaker 1: the earth from its wickedness. God indicated that he would
- 2:07Speaker 1: send a great flood, purging the world of its corruption.
- 2:09Speaker 1: Yet in this act of judgment, there was still a
- 2:11Speaker 1: promise of salvation. In a divine revelation, God instructed Noah
- 2:15Speaker 1: to build an ark great and sturdy, one large enough
- 2:19Speaker 1: to save his family and pairs of every kind of animal.
- 2:22Speaker 1: The dimensions were given, and Noah, with unwavering faith, set
- 2:24Speaker 1: about his monumental task. The people around him scoffed and mocked.
- 2:29Speaker 1: They could not comprehend the gravity of the situation. They
- 2:32Speaker 1: lived in denial, consumed by their wicked ways, oblivious to
- 2:35Speaker 1: the impending doom. Day by day, Noah persevered in his work,
- 2:39Speaker 1: gathering wood, crafting the vessel, and preparing for a future
- 2:42Speaker 1: that seemed unimaginable to those around him. Meanwhile, he preached
- 2:45Speaker 1: a message of righteousness, urging others to turn back to
- 2:47Speaker 1: God and abandon their corrupt ways. But the world remained obstinate.
- 2:51Speaker 1: Once the arks stood tall and proud. The day of
- 2:53Speaker 1: Reckoning arrived, the heavens opened and torrents of rain fell
- 2:57Speaker 1: to the ground. The water surged forth, becoming a mighty
- 3:00Speaker 1: flood that engulfed the land. The atmosphere darkened, and the
- 3:03Speaker 1: cries of the wicked drowned in the roar of the tempest.
- 3:06Speaker 1: As the flood waters rose, Noah and his family were
- 3:08Speaker 1: safely tucked inside the Ark, a sanctuary away from the
- 3:12Speaker 1: chaos outside. The animals, two of each kind, both clean
- 3:15Speaker 1: and unclean, took shelter beside them, each pair representing a
- 3:18Speaker 1: fragment of God's creation. The rain fell relentlessly, and the
- 3:21Speaker 1: ground became a swirling mass of turmoil. For forty days
- 3:24Speaker 1: and forty nights, the rain poured down, shaping the landscape
- 3:27Speaker 1: and wiping clean the traces of human sin. Then, at
- 3:30Speaker 1: long last, the deluge began to subside. The waters receded,
- 3:34Speaker 1: revealing the remnants of the world that had once been,
- 3:37Speaker 1: a world rewritten and redefined. After many days adrift on
- 3:40Speaker 1: the still waters, the Ark came to rest upon the
- 3:42Speaker 1: mountains of Ararat. Hope began to blossom in the hearts
- 3:45Speaker 1: of Noah and his family. They released a raven, then
- 3:48Speaker 1: a dove, seeking signs of life beyond the confines of
- 3:51Speaker 1: their vessel. Finally, the dove returned with an olive leaf,
- 3:55Speaker 1: an unmistakable symbol of peace, signaling the end of God's judgment.
- 3:58Speaker 1: Once the land dried, Noah and his family stepped out
- 4:02Speaker 1: on to the earth, greeted by the fragrance of the
- 4:04Speaker 1: new world. They were the sole survivors of a cataclysmic cleansing,
- 4:08Speaker 1: chosen to begin anew. God spoke to Noah, establishing a covenant,
- 4:12Speaker 1: promising never again to destroy the earth by flood. To
- 4:16Speaker 1: signify this covenant, God placed a rainbow in the sky,
- 4:19Speaker 1: a vibrant ark of colors that would forever serve as
- 4:21Speaker 1: a reminder of his mercy, grace, and the promise that
- 4:25Speaker 1: even in the face of judgment, hope could prevail. The
- 4:28Speaker 1: story of Genesis six is one of stark contrasts, the
- 4:31Speaker 1: depth of human corruption alongside the heights of divine mercy.
- 4:34Speaker 1: It reminds us that even in the darkest of times,
- 4:37Speaker 1: righteousness can shine through, guiding leaders and individuals in faithfulness.
- 4:41Speaker 1: As Noah stood on the threshold of a new beginning,
- 4:43Speaker 1: the world awaited the unfolding of a divine plan that
- 4:46Speaker 1: would shape the future of human kind and the cosmos
- 4:49Speaker 1: forever etched in the annals of history. Thank you for listening.
