- 0:10Speaker 1: Welcome to Justin Kat's.
- 0:11Speaker 2: My name is Michael Binnen on this Tuesday, June the sixteenth.
- 0:15Speaker 2: I hope everybody's having a great day so far. If
- 0:18Speaker 2: you want to join us, you can do that five
- 0:19Speaker 2: oh two three eight four fourteen fifty. If you want
- 0:21Speaker 2: to text us on the Whiskey Heth text line, you
- 0:23Speaker 2: can do that at five oh two four one four
- 0:26Speaker 2: fourteen fifty. Or you can tweet me at just the
- 0:29Speaker 2: Cat Radio as I have Justin Golee.
- 0:34Speaker 1: How many days in a row? Is this?
- 0:36Speaker 2: I don't know why I keep saying that, but well
- 0:38Speaker 2: yeah I do. And I'm so sorry. Matthew Childers is
- 0:41Speaker 2: with us? It's God, are you as frustrated by me
- 0:45Speaker 2: as I am with me?
- 0:46Speaker 3: I mean, you've done this since I sorry working here,
- 0:48Speaker 3: So I mean it's it's not nothing anything new.
- 0:52Speaker 2: I know, but it just it's it's a knock on
- 0:55Speaker 2: you his way. I look at it, and I don't
- 0:57Speaker 2: mean for it being I don't want to do that.
- 0:59Speaker 2: But uh, anyway, by here's the funny part. Uh, Justin
- 1:05Speaker 2: called me this morning at six fifteen in the morning
- 1:08Speaker 2: just to see hey. I called him last night to
- 1:12Speaker 2: see how he's doing and I didn't talk to him
- 1:14Speaker 2: in a few days and he didn't answer. He returns
- 1:18Speaker 2: my call at six, literally six fifteen this morning.
- 1:24Speaker 3: Is it?
- 1:25Speaker 2: There's some kind of etiquette when it comes to texting
- 1:28Speaker 2: and or calling someone back.
- 1:32Speaker 3: I mean, Michael, you get up at like four thirty
- 1:34Speaker 3: in the morning. I mean, true, it's fair for you
- 1:36Speaker 3: to have your day fully going. You've probably been to
- 1:39Speaker 3: the gym, you've been to two jobs already. I feel
- 1:43Speaker 3: like he probably was not thinking about is this too
- 1:45Speaker 3: early for Michael Bennett?
- 1:48Speaker 4: You know.
- 1:48Speaker 2: The funny part is that's exactly what he said, because
- 1:52Speaker 2: he's like, well, you've been up probably for the last
- 1:54Speaker 2: two hours, and which is unfortunately true. But I just
- 1:58Speaker 2: isn't their etiquette though? When it comes to texting somebody?
- 2:01Speaker 2: Do you look at it as I can't text anyone
- 2:05Speaker 2: or call someone until after a certain hour. Do you
- 2:09Speaker 2: have that little rule for yourself like I do?
- 2:11Speaker 5: Yeah?
- 2:12Speaker 3: For me, the etiquette is just never call my cell phone.
- 2:14Speaker 3: That's the etiquette. It's it's it's never called my phone.
- 2:17Speaker 3: I really, I I've said on you. I've said it before.
- 2:21Speaker 3: I hate talking on the phone. I cannot stand it
- 2:24Speaker 3: because ninety nine percent of phone calls. If it's not
- 2:26Speaker 3: something business related or it's like super important, it's just like, so,
- 2:33Speaker 3: what'd you get into today? I'm like the same thing
- 2:36Speaker 3: I get into every day, go to work, a dinner,
- 2:40Speaker 3: you know, hung out, you know, like.
- 2:42Speaker 2: You'll you never call Paulina, is what you're telling me,
- 2:46Speaker 2: Pauline not talking on the phone every day? Okay, So
- 2:50Speaker 2: is this the uncomfortable conversation that you have with Paulina
- 2:53Speaker 2: every day?
- 2:55Speaker 3: No, like ours are different. We talk about different stuff
- 2:57Speaker 3: every single time.
- 2:59Speaker 5: It's like.
- 3:01Speaker 3: Distant relative or like distant friend phone conversation where like
- 3:06Speaker 3: they can tell, like I feel bad saying it, but
- 3:09Speaker 3: I can tell they just want to talk to me
- 3:11Speaker 3: for a second, but they have nothing to talk about.
- 3:13Speaker 3: And I'm just like, look, I love you, I just
- 3:17Speaker 3: don't really want to talk to you right now.
- 3:19Speaker 5: Like I just.
- 3:20Speaker 2: See that's fair that I like that. It's just like, Okay,
- 3:24Speaker 2: I'm doing fun. Because my son up that lives in
- 3:27Speaker 2: New York. He calls me pretty much every day, and
- 3:31Speaker 2: there are particular days I know he wants to I
- 3:34Speaker 2: have to settle myself down because I'm the exact same way.
- 3:37Speaker 2: It's like, how was your day? Have you had anything
- 3:41Speaker 2: to eat, anything going on, see you later.
- 3:44Speaker 1: That's it. That's the extent of my conversation.
- 3:47Speaker 2: But there are days I can tell he's a little
- 3:51Speaker 2: maybe I don't want to say homesick, but he wants
- 3:54Speaker 2: to chit chat. And so I have to remind myself, Michael,
- 3:58Speaker 2: be patient. Your son will to talk to you, because
- 4:01Speaker 2: he'll just start talking about all kinds of stuff. And
- 4:05Speaker 2: at that point, I know, Okay, I have to listen
- 4:08Speaker 2: and I have to be a part of this conversation
- 4:10Speaker 2: because number one, he misses a home a little bit.
- 4:13Speaker 2: He might miss his mom, probably more than his dad.
- 4:17Speaker 2: But I'm the one that chit chats. His mom doesn't
- 4:20Speaker 2: really chit chat. So I'll chitchat there, and well, next
- 4:24Speaker 2: thing you know, we're on the phone for an hour
- 4:25Speaker 2: and a half two hours, and I somehow will be
- 4:32Speaker 2: patient and say anything else you want to talk about,
- 4:37Speaker 2: just and he'll come up with more stuff. I just
- 4:39Speaker 2: have to be patient. And I'm not the most as
- 4:42Speaker 2: you know, I'm not the most patient person in the world,
- 4:46Speaker 2: but I've tried to train myself with my boys. I
- 4:49Speaker 2: have to be a little more patient with them, and
- 4:52Speaker 2: I think I do a reasonably good.
- 4:54Speaker 4: Job with them.
- 4:55Speaker 1: But I'm with you, I can't do it all the time.
- 5:00Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm just I'm just not on the phone person.
- 5:02Speaker 3: You just have to stop everything you're doing. And like
- 5:05Speaker 3: I said, if it's like for a certain reason or
- 5:08Speaker 3: certain someone that's completely different, you know I can.
- 5:10Speaker 5: I'll make the time for it and this and that.
- 5:12Speaker 3: Like, but if it's just out of nowhere, this random
- 5:18Speaker 3: family of verse calling me, like you're like, oh, okay,
- 5:20Speaker 3: you know, I answer to see what they have to say,
- 5:21Speaker 3: and it's just so, what did you do today?
- 5:24Speaker 5: Like, well, went to work.
- 5:26Speaker 3: I'm twenty seven years old, you know, I gotta pay
- 5:29Speaker 3: my bills somehow. And they're like, oh, that's cool. How
- 5:31Speaker 3: was work? I'm like it was all right, just all right.
- 5:35Speaker 3: I'm like, what what I'm helding? I'm held vocally hostage,
- 5:39Speaker 3: you know, like I can't I can't go anywhere.
- 5:41Speaker 2: But do you say that? Do you say, is there
- 5:43Speaker 2: anything else you need to talk about? I got a
- 5:45Speaker 2: lot going on?
- 5:46Speaker 5: Yes, I do.
- 5:48Speaker 1: Do you really? I'm like, okay, good, good for you.
- 5:50Speaker 3: I'm just like, hey, like this is not knock against you,
- 5:53Speaker 3: but I'm in the middle of doing something like can
- 5:55Speaker 3: I call you back or like, can we do Yeah?
- 5:58Speaker 2: But but but if you get a phone call you
- 6:01Speaker 2: miss it. Is there a time that you say, I
- 6:04Speaker 2: can't call them before and I can't call them after
- 6:06Speaker 2: because I I've always said a rule, I don't ever
- 6:09Speaker 2: call anybody before probably eight or nine o'clock returning a
- 6:14Speaker 2: phone call, I don't text, And probably the same thing
- 6:17Speaker 2: for texting. I don't call any unless it's a family member.
- 6:21Speaker 2: I don't call anybody back after nine o'clock.
- 6:27Speaker 3: Texting texting for me, like, I'll text anybody anytime, because
- 6:31Speaker 3: it's like they'll just they'll just see it when they
- 6:33Speaker 3: see it, like I'm not expecting them to open it immediately.
- 6:37Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 6:38Speaker 3: Phone calls, if I really have to call somebody back, if,
- 6:44Speaker 3: I'll usually wait till like the afternoon. Yeah, Like I
- 6:48Speaker 3: feel like that's usually when everybody is like kind of
- 6:50Speaker 3: slowing their day down so they have more time.
- 6:52Speaker 5: So I'll usually do in the afternoon.
- 6:54Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 6:55Speaker 2: See, because when people call me and or I'm trying
- 6:59Speaker 2: to call somebody, and I'll leave on the voicemail if
- 7:02Speaker 2: they don't answer, I said, I'll be up until eleven o'clock.
- 7:05Speaker 1: You are welcome to call me up till eleven and
- 7:08Speaker 1: that's it. And usually.
- 7:11Speaker 2: Most people don't do that, but if it's something fairly important,
- 7:15Speaker 2: they'll call me back at that time. But just now
- 7:20Speaker 2: with a lot of the horse people, yeah, they're calling
- 7:22Speaker 2: me trainers, other owners, that kind of stuff. They're calling
- 7:26Speaker 2: me probably seven, seven point thirty something like that, because
- 7:29Speaker 2: there's a lot going on. I just have learned how
- 7:33Speaker 2: to work the clock with trainers because typically around between
- 7:38Speaker 2: the hours of five or six and nine o'clock they're working.
- 7:43Speaker 2: They don't want to be disturbed at all. So I
- 7:45Speaker 2: usually call trainers around ten o'clock or after. But any
- 7:50Speaker 2: any anyone else, I don't do it until after eight
- 7:53Speaker 2: o'clock and I don't bother anybody after ten o'clock at night.
- 7:56Speaker 2: So I just I just always had that unwritten rule.
- 7:59Speaker 2: But for just to call me at six point fifteen
- 8:01Speaker 2: in the morning, I said. I gave him a hard
- 8:03Speaker 2: time about it. He said, but you've been up for
- 8:05Speaker 2: two hours, and I'm like, okay, fair enough. Yeah, I
- 8:09Speaker 2: just I just wouldn't have answered. I'd have seen his
- 8:10Speaker 2: name pop up. I'd be like, I'll let that.
- 8:14Speaker 1: No, I had to are you kidding? I had to
- 8:16Speaker 1: talk to justin.
- 8:17Speaker 2: I you you don't somebody you've worked with for the
- 8:20Speaker 2: last two years, you don't just say ignored. At this point, no,
- 8:23Speaker 2: I'm not gonna be doing it. If you're calling me
- 8:25Speaker 2: at six o'clock in the morning. I'm answering the phone
- 8:28Speaker 2: A lot of times.
- 8:29Speaker 3: I will watch my phone go off, mute it, watch
- 8:33Speaker 3: it go to voicemail, see what they have to say,
- 8:34Speaker 3: and then see if I need to call them back
- 8:36Speaker 3: or not.
- 8:36Speaker 2: That's what I do see, and now everybody knows how
- 8:40Speaker 2: you do it. So I'm kind of like this is
- 8:44Speaker 2: weird because I've done that a couple of times as well.
- 8:48Speaker 2: And then I look at it's like, okay, just get
- 8:49Speaker 2: the phone call over. Even though I don't want to
- 8:51Speaker 2: talk to anybody, It's like I'm gonna have talk to
- 8:53Speaker 2: him eventually, so I might as well just get the
- 8:56Speaker 2: phone call over with and then move on, because yeah,
- 8:59Speaker 2: I'm Everything goes to voicemail, now goes to text message.
- 9:04Speaker 2: Then you get the weird ones where it's not a
- 9:08Speaker 2: phone number that's recognized, so my phone picks it up
- 9:12Speaker 2: and says, please announce your name, which I never signed
- 9:15Speaker 2: up for. That is that just some sort of automatic
- 9:18Speaker 2: thing that our phones are doing.
- 9:20Speaker 1: Now.
- 9:21Speaker 2: I hate that even more because now not only do
- 9:23Speaker 2: you get the phone call or a miscall, but now
- 9:26Speaker 2: you see, oh I gotta go push this extra button
- 9:29Speaker 2: to see what non existent phone number I have. It's
- 9:32Speaker 2: just like, please stop doing that. Just have the phone
- 9:34Speaker 2: numbers come in? Are you frustrated by that as much
- 9:38Speaker 2: as I am.
- 9:38Speaker 3: I just get frustrated using my phone in general. I
- 9:41Speaker 3: wish you just I just didn't have to have it.
- 9:43Speaker 3: I wish we could go back to like carry or
- 9:44Speaker 3: pigeon or something like.
- 9:46Speaker 1: Oh geez, no, I'm not doing that.
- 9:49Speaker 2: Somebody sent me a certified piece of mail. Who sends
- 9:52Speaker 2: mail anymore? Yeah, that's that's that's ridiculous.
- 9:56Speaker 3: If someone I remember my one of my close friends,
- 10:00Speaker 3: he wants to be he wants to be like a firefighter.
- 10:03Speaker 3: And he was like, hey, I'm filling out the application.
- 10:05Speaker 3: It's like a really extensive background process you gotta do.
- 10:08Speaker 3: I need all these I need all these resources. I
- 10:11Speaker 3: was like, okay, that's fine. You know, he was like,
- 10:12Speaker 3: I need you to write a letter. What I was like,
- 10:15Speaker 3: I have to write a letter. I was like, I
- 10:16Speaker 3: haven't written a letter since like fifth grade. And then
- 10:20Speaker 3: he was like, yeah, you have to write a letter
- 10:21Speaker 3: to this guy. It has to be handwritten. It can't
- 10:24Speaker 3: be to come. It has to be handwritten. So because
- 10:27Speaker 3: they don't so they can scan for AI and stuff
- 10:29Speaker 3: like that, has to be handwritten. And I have to
- 10:32Speaker 3: send take it to the post office and mail it,
- 10:34Speaker 3: like drop it off at the station. You have to
- 10:38Speaker 3: mail it. And I had so for this thing, I
- 10:41Speaker 3: had to write a letter. It was kind of annoying
- 10:45Speaker 3: on his part because he told me like a day
- 10:47Speaker 3: before it was due, so I had a little I
- 10:49Speaker 3: had to sit down and write this letter out of
- 10:51Speaker 3: the middle of my day. Yeah, I Lily was just like, dude,
- 10:54Speaker 3: is such a great guy. If my house is on fire,
- 10:56Speaker 3: I'd let him pick me up or whatever. Like I
- 10:59Speaker 3: had like glaze him a little bit. But I go
- 11:02Speaker 3: drop that. I take this letter. I go to the
- 11:04Speaker 3: post office. This is the first time I've ever sent
- 11:07Speaker 3: a piece of mail in my entire life. Is it
- 11:10Speaker 3: the first time first time I've literally I go there
- 11:14Speaker 3: are people behind me in line. I am terrified. I'm
- 11:17Speaker 3: so nervous. I'm like, hey, like I've never done this before.
- 11:21Speaker 3: I just need to send this letter. I just have
- 11:22Speaker 3: the piece of paper in my hand. I don't have
- 11:23Speaker 3: any car, I don't have any cards, I don't have
- 11:25Speaker 3: any any stamps. I have to go buy stamps. I
- 11:29Speaker 3: gotta buy card. I gotta put the letter in there.
- 11:31Speaker 3: I gotta find out where to send the letter to.
- 11:34Speaker 3: This lady goes to this twenty minute process. Help me
- 11:36Speaker 3: figure this out. She's like, that'll be ten to twenty
- 11:39Speaker 3: nine or whatever because of all this stuff I had
- 11:40Speaker 3: to buy for it. That was the worst experience of
- 11:42Speaker 3: my entire life. I said, I said, if you don't
- 11:45Speaker 3: get this job, I'm not writing you no more letters.
- 11:47Speaker 5: I want you to know that.
- 11:48Speaker 2: Well, not only that, I'm sending the bill to him
- 11:51Speaker 2: as well. What's his name, name's Ray.
- 11:54Speaker 4: Ray.
- 11:56Speaker 2: To do this to your friend, you owe him fifteen dollars, Okay.
- 12:01Speaker 2: I just want you to know you need to write no,
- 12:03Speaker 2: bring cash to Matthew, and make certain that you take
- 12:09Speaker 2: him to lunch too, to be able to tell you
- 12:11Speaker 2: that when he probably knew it, what two or three
- 12:15Speaker 2: months in advance, the day before. Yeah, I would have
- 12:18Speaker 2: had a I write it and then I handwrite it.
- 12:23Speaker 2: What do you say, I mean, I haven't I can't
- 12:26Speaker 2: think of the last time. Oh, I I never mind.
- 12:28Speaker 2: I had a gentleman take me out to lunch last
- 12:31Speaker 2: week and I wrote, I'm writing a thank you note
- 12:34Speaker 2: for that.
- 12:36Speaker 1: Yeah, so I do write thank you notes. I did.
- 12:41Speaker 1: I did.
- 12:42Speaker 2: But this person is old fashioned. He's a little older
- 12:46Speaker 2: than me, and every time I take him to lunch,
- 12:49Speaker 2: he sends me a note thanking me. So I need
- 12:53Speaker 2: to reciprocate. I just I reciprocate. That's the only time.
- 12:56Speaker 2: But anyway, all right, I think the big news we
- 12:59Speaker 2: all know that came out yesterday. We talked about it
- 13:03Speaker 2: yesterday with regarding Jay Batt, who was the emerging name
- 13:09Speaker 2: as the athletic director at the University of Kentucky, And
- 13:11Speaker 2: of course it came fiicial yesterday. How do these people
- 13:15Speaker 2: find out this stuff, especially somebody from Yahoo Sports.
- 13:20Speaker 1: How does he find out? Why?
- 13:22Speaker 5: Why?
- 13:22Speaker 2: Why would somebody release Oh, let's just give this a
- 13:25Speaker 2: bit of a tidbit of information to Yahoo.
- 13:28Speaker 1: I would love to know something like that.
- 13:30Speaker 2: But it became official yesterday afternoon or yesterday morning, and
- 13:36Speaker 2: uh uh, listen, what do I think about it? Listen,
- 13:40Speaker 2: it's it seems like he's a really nice cat. I'm
- 13:44Speaker 2: I've already requested for him to come on the radio
- 13:47Speaker 2: show with us. We'll see if if that comes to
- 13:49Speaker 2: fruition in the UH next month or so. They the
- 13:53Speaker 2: response to me was, Michael, let's get him settled in
- 13:56Speaker 2: Lexington and then we'll have him on the show. So
- 13:59Speaker 2: we'll we'll see if that happens or not. But every
- 14:01Speaker 2: time I get a quick glimpse of a picture of him,
- 14:04Speaker 2: I'm thinking he looks like Will Stein's big brother. Have
- 14:08Speaker 2: you seen a picture of j Blatt?
- 14:09Speaker 5: Yes?
- 14:09Speaker 1: I have, And do you feel the same way.
- 14:12Speaker 2: I mean, I swear Will Stein and Jay Bat could
- 14:16Speaker 2: be brothers.
- 14:17Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean they have like a similar head shape,
- 14:20Speaker 3: Like they look look kind of similar. I'm just wondering
- 14:23Speaker 3: why when you look this dude up, his first name
- 14:24Speaker 3: is literally J, Like it's the letter J.
- 14:28Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 14:28Speaker 2: I don't get that either. I mean, at least it's
- 14:30Speaker 2: easy to spell. But I haven't seen anything where it's
- 14:37Speaker 2: Is it short for something or is it literally?
- 14:40Speaker 1: His name is the letter J.
- 14:41Speaker 5: Everywhere I had to look up yesterday, I just saw
- 14:43Speaker 5: the letter J.
- 14:44Speaker 3: So that's all I've seen. I don't know exactly. Maybe
- 14:47Speaker 3: this man is like his name's Jane or something. He's
- 14:50Speaker 3: very embarrassed about it, like his family wanted a daughter
- 14:53Speaker 3: when he was born.
- 14:54Speaker 5: And he's jezbub I mean, could it be?
- 14:56Speaker 3: Yes, his name's Jasmine Blatt and he won't tell anybody, like,
- 14:59Speaker 3: I don't know, I've never seen it before in my life.
- 15:01Speaker 5: As name was literally J.
- 15:03Speaker 1: Yeah, J Batt.
- 15:05Speaker 2: So it seems like tom Izzo's not happy. We'll talk
- 15:10Speaker 2: about that in a minute, but listen. The one thing
- 15:14Speaker 2: I did like that he said he believes UK basketball
- 15:17Speaker 2: and football can be great under his watch, pointing to
- 15:21Speaker 2: Alabama's success in both sports during his tenure as the
- 15:25Speaker 2: wad down there. So I thought, well, I would like
- 15:29Speaker 2: to know what Greg Burn has to say about that.
- 15:31Speaker 2: But the athletic director at Alabama. But he J Batt
- 15:36Speaker 2: is taking credit for that, and he's in his fourth
- 15:40Speaker 2: job in five years, but quickly says he's coming to
- 15:43Speaker 2: UK to stay. Fourth job in five years. That's a
- 15:49Speaker 2: lot of movement right there. If I'm his wife, I'm like, okay,
- 15:53Speaker 2: where are we? I'm already pre planning where am I
- 15:56Speaker 2: moving next? After Lexington? I hope he's in a UK
- 15:59Speaker 2: and does a nice job and is there to stay.
- 16:01Speaker 2: But man, That's a lot of movement, isn't it.
- 16:04Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 16:04Speaker 3: I mean, after the second time, just not leave it.
- 16:06Speaker 3: I'm like, you can go to Lexington. I'm just gonna
- 16:08Speaker 3: stay here in my house wherever I'm at. Like, I'm
- 16:10Speaker 3: just like I four and five years. That's that's that's
- 16:15Speaker 3: that's a hefty resume. I mean, maybe you get more
- 16:17Speaker 3: experience out of that, but who knows, Maybe maybe it is.
- 16:22Speaker 3: Maybe I doubt after just picking up an athletic director
- 16:24Speaker 3: job at Kentucky, you just jumped ship after a year
- 16:27Speaker 3: or two, But who knows what can happen?
- 16:29Speaker 1: Well, you know, I've got a a next door neighbor.
- 16:33Speaker 2: Uh. They're originally from Michigan. He ran the plant here
- 16:37Speaker 2: for Ford here in town and uh then then from.
- 16:41Speaker 1: There he moved to.
- 16:44Speaker 2: Canada, and then from there he moved to uh Korea
- 16:49Speaker 2: and ran the plant in Korea. But he kept his
- 16:53Speaker 2: house here. He just he's like, we fell in love
- 16:57Speaker 2: with Louisville. I'm not going to sell my house here.
- 17:00Speaker 2: My wife will be here, our kids grew up here.
- 17:02Speaker 2: And so therefore he went from Kentucky to Canada to
- 17:06Speaker 2: Korea and then moved back to Kentucky. It's just like, Okay, well,
- 17:10Speaker 2: at least you got a home base. Another good friend
- 17:12Speaker 2: of mine that was in the military, he kept moving
- 17:15Speaker 2: all the time. He says, I'm done. I want my
- 17:17Speaker 2: girls to have a home. So we're buying a place
- 17:19Speaker 2: in Kentucky and then I'll make this my last home.
- 17:22Speaker 2: I can't imagine moving as much as some people do.
- 17:28Speaker 2: I just I couldn't do it. But some people are
- 17:30Speaker 2: able to do that and survive. And I've lived in Louisville,
- 17:35Speaker 2: like you've lived in Louisville majority of our lives.
- 17:38Speaker 3: I have moved. I graduated college or high school nine
- 17:44Speaker 3: years ago. I've moved eight times.
- 17:48Speaker 2: Yeah, but that's a little different. In the same city though, Yeah,
- 17:50Speaker 2: in the same city. Yeah, but these people are moving
- 17:54Speaker 2: to different locations.
- 17:57Speaker 3: Well, I'll text you what my experience isn't about something
- 18:00Speaker 3: today is exactly I'm not excited for it. Well, I'm
- 18:03Speaker 3: excited to move, I'm not excited to actually do the movie.
- 18:07Speaker 2: I'm not excited for you. So I just I want
- 18:10Speaker 2: this to fail and you come right back to little
- 18:11Speaker 2: and come back to work here. So isn't that terrible?
- 18:14Speaker 2: I don't wish that. I'm just kidding. So I want
- 18:16Speaker 2: you to succeed and have a great life. But I
- 18:19Speaker 2: just I don't know how these people move pack unpacked,
- 18:22Speaker 2: pack unpack and do that kind of stuff. But I'm
- 18:25Speaker 2: happy before for uh Jabad, I'm happy for uh the university.
- 18:29Speaker 1: Uh Do you think he can?
- 18:31Speaker 2: Because I thought that was interesting his first one of
- 18:34Speaker 2: his first comments is that we can succeed at basketball
- 18:39Speaker 2: and football.
- 18:41Speaker 1: Can u K do that?
- 18:43Speaker 5: Can?
- 18:43Speaker 2: Because it seems like Alabama, even though they succeeded at basketball,
- 18:49Speaker 2: it's still known as a football school.
- 18:52Speaker 3: Yeah, And I think that no matter what if will
- 18:55Speaker 3: Ston Barring will Stein has this incredible tenure where he
- 18:59Speaker 3: goes to college, well collegetball playoffs or something like that,
- 19:01Speaker 3: like and you keep Mark Pope and it's still pretty average,
- 19:06Speaker 3: like barring something like that, like a very drastic change,
- 19:09Speaker 3: Kentucky will always be a basketball school. I mean, in
- 19:11Speaker 3: the end, just won a football national championship, went back
- 19:14Speaker 3: to back playoffs.
- 19:15Speaker 5: There's still like I still view them as a basketball school.
- 19:17Speaker 1: That's just what it is.
- 19:18Speaker 5: Yeah. I think that's where their main fan base is
- 19:22Speaker 5: based around.
- 19:22Speaker 3: Like, yeah, everybody loves having football be successful, but I
- 19:26Speaker 3: mean I think it's just how it is it's just
- 19:28Speaker 3: kind of like a ingrained in your culture. So like, yeah,
- 19:32Speaker 3: Kentucky can be good at both, but you know it's
- 19:34Speaker 3: gonna take a lot of money and a lot of work.
- 19:36Speaker 3: You have the advantage of being the sec so you
- 19:38Speaker 3: have you have the money aspect.
- 19:40Speaker 2: Exactly that that's never the issue. Hopefully he can raise
- 19:43Speaker 2: the money that he was raising up in Michigan State
- 19:46Speaker 2: in that short time period. But uh, I don't think
- 19:50Speaker 2: clearly will Stein didn't have anything to worry about about
- 19:52Speaker 2: a brand new boss coming to town because he's brand
- 19:55Speaker 2: new to the university and he's he's absolutely killing it
- 19:58Speaker 2: out there on the recruiting wars now with Mark Pope.
- 20:01Speaker 2: I think he really needs to get to know Ja Blatt,
- 20:05Speaker 2: don't you think. And it's one of those situations where, uh,
- 20:10Speaker 2: he's got to take care of some business. Do you
- 20:13Speaker 2: think Jay Batt has that ability to think, Okay, you
- 20:18Speaker 2: need to get going and it's probably concentrating more on
- 20:22Speaker 2: basketball than he is on football right now.
- 20:25Speaker 3: I mean, if the dude has been in four different
- 20:29Speaker 3: jobs in five years, I imagine he's not afraid to
- 20:32Speaker 3: make some tough decisions.
- 20:33Speaker 1: Yeah, that's a great point.
- 20:35Speaker 3: It would be one where yeah, he probably is having
- 20:37Speaker 3: a conversation with Mark Pope saying, hey, look, I know
- 20:41Speaker 3: I just started here, but I know how the transfer
- 20:43Speaker 3: portal went. I know you've got a big splash at
- 20:45Speaker 3: the end of the recruiting is heating up right now.
- 20:47Speaker 3: But the team this season, you know, is not up
- 20:51Speaker 3: to the standard of what we wanted to be. And
- 20:53Speaker 3: last season wasn't up to the standard of what Kentucky
- 20:55Speaker 3: fans wanted to be. So I'm just gonna be flat
- 20:57Speaker 3: with you and say, hey, look, this is kind of
- 20:59Speaker 3: this is your third season. This is the year to
- 21:01Speaker 3: prove me you can get it done or do. You
- 21:02Speaker 3: don't have to win a national championship right here, but
- 21:04Speaker 3: the show that you're improving and the show that you
- 21:06Speaker 3: belong here, or else we're gonna have to make some
- 21:09Speaker 3: tough decisions or else. You know, I'm gonna have to
- 21:11Speaker 3: divert more money into will Stein and this and that,
- 21:13Speaker 3: you know, because we need fans that come to the
- 21:15Speaker 3: We need fans in the university.
- 21:16Speaker 2: And you know, if you look at Michigan State, what's
- 21:18Speaker 2: the first thing you think of When you think of
- 21:20Speaker 2: Michigan State. You think of football, You think of basketball.
- 21:23Speaker 5: Michigan State. It's a tough one.
- 21:26Speaker 1: I I kind of agree with you.
- 21:27Speaker 3: But when I was growing up, yes, Michigan State was
- 21:31Speaker 3: extremely good at both for all my entire life. Like,
- 21:34Speaker 3: I kind of saw them more as a football school
- 21:37Speaker 3: when I was growing up, Yes, And then when I
- 21:40Speaker 3: became like a teenager, Michigan State football kind of starting
- 21:43Speaker 3: to fall by the wayside, and it's been kind of
- 21:45Speaker 3: pretty bad for a long time. So I'd say they're
- 21:47Speaker 3: basketball right now, but I still put them as a
- 21:49Speaker 3: football school.
- 21:50Speaker 1: Do you really?
- 21:51Speaker 2: I almost put them more as a basketball school because
- 21:54Speaker 2: of tom Oh tom Izzo's head. Uh, He's got a
- 21:57Speaker 2: longer tenure than any of the football coaches that I've
- 22:00Speaker 2: ever been there. So to me, it's almost more of
- 22:02Speaker 2: a basketball school because of pure purely because of tom Izzo.
- 22:08Speaker 3: I just always remember watching like the Michigan State Michigan
- 22:11Speaker 3: rivalry football games all the time every year, and Michigan
- 22:14Speaker 3: State playing in the Rose Bowl all of the time,
- 22:16Speaker 3: and all this stuff when I was growing up. Michigan
- 22:21Speaker 3: State is an anomaly to me. I have no idea
- 22:23Speaker 3: what happened to their football program.
- 22:24Speaker 5: I don't know.
- 22:25Speaker 3: I don't either, Ads they've had just gave up on
- 22:28Speaker 3: trying to make that successful, or and they're just fully
- 22:31Speaker 3: bought into Tom Mizzo, or I don't know what it is,
- 22:34Speaker 3: because like it was a I mean, they went from
- 22:37Speaker 3: this is a competent year in year out top ten
- 22:41Speaker 3: team to this team can't even take a breath in
- 22:44Speaker 3: the Big.
- 22:44Speaker 1: Ten, right exactly? So, all right, well we got to
- 22:47Speaker 1: take our first break.
- 22:49Speaker 2: If I look at Michigan State, I don't even think
- 22:51Speaker 2: Michigan considers them a rival. They probably consider Ohio State
- 22:56Speaker 2: more of a rival than they do Michigan State.
- 22:58Speaker 1: Oh yeah, yeah, exactly. So all right, if you want to.
- 23:01Speaker 2: Give us call fible two three and four fourteen fifty,
- 23:04Speaker 2: you want to text us on the Whiskey Thief text line,
- 23:06Speaker 2: you can do that five oh two four one four
- 23:08Speaker 2: fourteen fifty.
- 23:09Speaker 1: We'll get to those when we get back.
- 23:11Speaker 2: You can tweet me at just the Cat Radio, uh
- 23:13Speaker 2: uk ads. As far as you're basketball some more non
- 23:17Speaker 2: conference games, we'll talk about that in just a little bit.
- 23:21Speaker 2: And uh you know, of course there's some news coming
- 23:24Speaker 2: out of the summer practices already which sounded real exciting,
- 23:27Speaker 2: But we'll talk about that as well.
- 23:29Speaker 1: So stay right there.
- 23:30Speaker 2: A lot of more of Just the Cats coming right up.
- 23:54Speaker 2: Five O two three eight four fourteen fifty. You want
- 23:56Speaker 2: to call Fabo two four one four fourteen fifty. You
- 23:59Speaker 2: want to text on the Whiskey Thief, text Lin or
- 24:01Speaker 2: you tweet me at Just the Cat radio. Uh, let
- 24:03Speaker 2: me get to a couple of these texts that we've got. Ohio,
- 24:07Speaker 2: guys said, have you seen the snippet of Willi cally
- 24:09Speaker 2: stein most recent interview? I said, see the link, but
- 24:13Speaker 2: the language used is it radio appropriate? So you may
- 24:16Speaker 2: want to listen at commercial break? Okay, I'll I'll listen
- 24:19Speaker 2: to that a little bit because I have not seen it.
- 24:22Speaker 2: I'm sure you haven't as well. Is that fair enough to.
- 24:24Speaker 3: Say I have not seen it, but I'm about to
- 24:28Speaker 3: open it right now.
- 24:29Speaker 1: Yeah, well, we'll see what it says.
- 24:31Speaker 2: Uh in just a little bit, Jamie said, I only
- 24:35Speaker 2: have an issue with my sister in law calling me,
- 24:38Speaker 2: uh laugh at loud. She lives in Washington and I'm
- 24:41Speaker 2: in Illinois and forgets about the time zones. I've told
- 24:45Speaker 2: her multiple times please ask if it's okay to FaceTime
- 24:49Speaker 2: or call unless it's an emergency. See ill Yeah, I
- 24:55Speaker 2: get that. Here's the ears the issue I have? Uh
- 25:01Speaker 2: when other family members from the in law side call
- 25:05Speaker 2: and we're already in bed. My wife takes the call
- 25:09Speaker 2: and she talks next to me in bed with the
- 25:12Speaker 2: brightest light, and it's like I can't sleep at that point,
- 25:17Speaker 2: I'm wide awake, and I'm like, Okay, do I say
- 25:21Speaker 2: something or do I not? And then I feel bad
- 25:24Speaker 2: when I say, Patricia, can you take the call somewhere else?
- 25:27Speaker 1: And I kind of feel guilty. Is that bad?
- 25:30Speaker 2: Is that bad form for me to say to my
- 25:33Speaker 2: wife to go take the call somewhere else? No?
- 25:35Speaker 3: I do that to Pauline all the time, but no,
- 25:37Speaker 3: oh do you really like? It's not for like phone
- 25:39Speaker 3: calls and stuff. So she's one of those people who
- 25:41Speaker 3: gets just like once you once it hits like ten pm,
- 25:45Speaker 3: like a certain time every night, she gets like deathly tired,
- 25:49Speaker 3: like she can't stand up anymore.
- 25:50Speaker 5: She has to go to sleep.
- 25:51Speaker 3: Does not matter how loud it is in there, It
- 25:53Speaker 3: doesn't matter how bride is in there, doesn't matter if
- 25:55Speaker 3: she has like her day clothes on or whatever. She
- 25:58Speaker 3: will just fall asleep in bed. She leaves all the
- 26:02Speaker 3: lights on, every light and she like, will lay down
- 26:05Speaker 3: for bed with the lights on, knowing that they need
- 26:08Speaker 3: to be come on. And I'm like, and I know
- 26:11Speaker 3: it now. I'm like, you're getting in bed mode. Get
- 26:13Speaker 3: up and go turn those lights off. I'm already half asleep.
- 26:17Speaker 3: And she's like, it's okay, just just go to sleep
- 26:20Speaker 3: with said, No, I don't want to sleep with the
- 26:21Speaker 3: lights on.
- 26:21Speaker 5: I can't sleep.
- 26:23Speaker 3: And she will leave the lights on while she sleeps seriously,
- 26:27Speaker 3: yes she doesn't. What is she afraid of? No, she's
- 26:30Speaker 3: not afraid. She's just too tired to turn them off.
- 26:33Speaker 1: Oh.
- 26:33Speaker 5: She she literally doesn't care. She will just sleep with
- 26:36Speaker 5: the lights on.
- 26:37Speaker 2: Wasn't there a product back in the day where you,
- 26:40Speaker 2: what was it called the clapper or something you would
- 26:42Speaker 2: clap your hands and the lights would go off.
- 26:45Speaker 1: Is that still in existence?
- 26:47Speaker 5: I mean it probably is. I can't imagine anybody has.
- 26:49Speaker 2: That's I've already got the perfect birthday, anniversary of Christmas
- 26:55Speaker 2: gift for Paulina. You get her the clapper thing, and
- 26:59Speaker 2: that way she doesn't have to get out of bed
- 27:01Speaker 2: and you just clap and it turns off.
- 27:03Speaker 3: I always thought, I can't believe we haven't at least
- 27:07Speaker 3: integrate the technology's houses where the light switch for your
- 27:10Speaker 3: bedroom is like built into your nightstand.
- 27:14Speaker 2: Well, I mean can't you do that with uh what
- 27:17Speaker 2: is that app that's on your if that let me
- 27:20Speaker 2: think about what's on my iPhone? It's like home, isn't
- 27:25Speaker 2: it home? And it controls all kinds of stuff.
- 27:28Speaker 5: Yeah, I know you can do that.
- 27:29Speaker 1: That's yeah. I bet you can go. I bet you.
- 27:32Speaker 2: Uh there's an electronics store out there, you know, the
- 27:35Speaker 2: big box one, and you can go there and buy
- 27:37Speaker 2: something and say, hey, Siri, U turn off my light
- 27:42Speaker 2: and of course there goes my phone because I said
- 27:44Speaker 2: hey Siri.
- 27:45Speaker 1: But I bet you could do that.
- 27:47Speaker 5: You probably can't.
- 27:49Speaker 2: Yeah, that's I Listen, I'm coming up with great ideas
- 27:52Speaker 2: to save your you know, future marriage. Okay, so this
- 27:55Speaker 2: is what you need to do because after thirty two years,
- 27:58Speaker 2: there's no filter in me and you got to get
- 28:02Speaker 2: to the thirty two year point.
- 28:03Speaker 3: There's this app now that it's supposed to it's supposed
- 28:07Speaker 3: to work for people who sleep too heavy and like
- 28:10Speaker 3: turn their phone off when they wake up in the morning,
- 28:12Speaker 3: or turn their alarm off. And what you're supposed to
- 28:14Speaker 3: do is it's supposed to make it really difficult for
- 28:16Speaker 3: you to turn your alarm off. So you have to
- 28:18Speaker 3: take a picture of something in your house to turn
- 28:20Speaker 3: your alarm off. So like what I've seen people do, Yeah,
- 28:25Speaker 3: they download this app and their alarm will not stop
- 28:28Speaker 3: going off until they like take a picture of like
- 28:30Speaker 3: their toilet, Like, so they have to go to the bathroom.
- 28:32Speaker 3: Oh come, Oh, I have to get out of your
- 28:34Speaker 3: bed and go take a picture of your refrigerator, and
- 28:37Speaker 3: then your alarm goes like turns off.
- 28:39Speaker 2: Yeah, I got an idea what I'd like to take
- 28:41Speaker 2: a picture of to get my alarm to go off.
- 28:43Speaker 2: And because that's what probably i'd feel about the alarm,
- 28:46Speaker 2: that might be the dumbest thing I've ever heard. Is
- 28:49Speaker 2: so these are for the heavy, heavy, heavy sleepers that
- 28:52Speaker 2: can't wake up.
- 28:52Speaker 1: In other words, Yeah.
- 28:54Speaker 2: And you literally take a picture of something to prove
- 28:57Speaker 2: you're out of bed.
- 28:58Speaker 1: That is so sad.
- 28:59Speaker 3: I think it's funny like you do. Yeah, when I
- 29:03Speaker 3: was a kid, I was the same way. I definitely
- 29:05Speaker 3: could see myself using this, Could you really okay? I
- 29:08Speaker 3: used to have two alarm clocks. Come on, I couldn't
- 29:12Speaker 3: get up, Like I literally would not wake up I've
- 29:14Speaker 3: never been a morning person in my life.
- 29:15Speaker 5: I had to like do it over.
- 29:17Speaker 3: And I used to keep the radio on at night,
- 29:20Speaker 3: Like I would literally listen to talk radio at night
- 29:23Speaker 3: to go to sleep. I'd have one next to my
- 29:25Speaker 3: night on my nightstand, and then one that's timed five
- 29:29Speaker 3: minutes after across the room on my dresser. So if
- 29:33Speaker 3: I didn't get up to the first one, I really
- 29:34Speaker 3: had to stand up and go turn the other radio off.
- 29:38Speaker 2: And so did you enjoy the talk radio that you
- 29:41Speaker 2: were listening to? No, that's why I fell asleep, all right?
- 29:44Speaker 2: So does that I what if full circle you end
- 29:48Speaker 2: up being some kid listens to Matt Childress and is
- 29:53Speaker 2: trying to go to sleep and you put him to sleep.
- 29:56Speaker 1: Would that make you feel good?
- 29:57Speaker 5: Yeah?
- 29:58Speaker 1: It would? It would?
- 29:59Speaker 3: I mean, like my god, like you know what, someone
- 30:01Speaker 3: out there is listening to go to bed. I hope
- 30:04Speaker 3: you get a sleep, hope you sleep tight, have really
- 30:06Speaker 3: beautiful dreams.
- 30:07Speaker 1: Yeah, I'll be talking right. Here's how old I am.
- 30:10Speaker 2: So when I was a kid, I would have a
- 30:12Speaker 2: record player and I would play an album to put
- 30:16Speaker 2: me to sleep, and then the record would stop, it
- 30:19Speaker 2: would go over and turn off. So that's I would
- 30:21Speaker 2: listen to records going to sleep. So yeah, that makes
- 30:24Speaker 2: me feel old just saying that.
- 30:26Speaker 1: Uh what about them? Have you ever done the oral ring?
- 30:31Speaker 3: Uh? No, but I've seen them. I've heard that people
- 30:34Speaker 3: have really bad experiences with them. Oh really, because do
- 30:38Speaker 3: you remember back whenever I forgot what Samsung phone it was,
- 30:41Speaker 3: but the battery packs kept like exploding in them and
- 30:44Speaker 3: like burning up.
- 30:44Speaker 5: It was a couple of years.
- 30:45Speaker 3: Yes, So apparently the same thing is happening in these
- 30:47Speaker 3: rings where the battery pack in them is expanding so
- 30:50Speaker 3: people can't get them off their fingers. They're like crushing
- 30:52Speaker 3: their fingers cut.
- 30:53Speaker 1: Holy cow, I have not heard that.
- 30:56Speaker 2: Okay, that's that's not a good tign I just like
- 30:59Speaker 2: a buddy of mine one for Christmas. He says, Yeah,
- 31:01Speaker 2: it even knows when I fart when I'm sleeping. It's like,
- 31:03Speaker 2: why do we want to know that? Explain to me?
- 31:06Speaker 1: Why do I want to know when I'm passing gas
- 31:08Speaker 1: when I'm sleeping.
- 31:09Speaker 3: I mean, Paulina does it all the time, so I
- 31:11Speaker 3: wish she had one of those so she could know
- 31:12Speaker 3: how many times it happens.
- 31:15Speaker 1: You just admitted that on air. I can't believe that.
- 31:19Speaker 5: I mean she admits it on air every night, so I.
- 31:21Speaker 1: Mean, oh she does. Okay, all right, Dan.
- 31:23Speaker 3: I've seen that one. I've seen people use the or ring.
- 31:26Speaker 3: I know people who have one and they like it. Yeah.
- 31:28Speaker 3: I've also seen people use like a whoop. Have you
- 31:30Speaker 3: seen a whoop?
- 31:32Speaker 1: I've never even heard of it. No, So it's a.
- 31:34Speaker 3: If you ever like watch, like pay attention to golf.
- 31:36Speaker 3: Almost every golfer has one. They just wear around the wrist.
- 31:39Speaker 3: It looks like a watch, except it's Okay, it's just
- 31:41Speaker 3: a band and when it does attract your sleep attracts
- 31:44Speaker 3: all It's basically a fit big the tract your sleep tracks,
- 31:47Speaker 3: your calorie intake checks, all that stuff, and they just
- 31:49Speaker 3: you just never take it off. You just wear all
- 31:51Speaker 3: the time and attracts all that stuff, even in the shower. Yeah,
- 31:54Speaker 3: you wear it in the shower, you were everywhere.
- 31:56Speaker 1: See.
- 31:57Speaker 2: I don't I when I go to bed, I have
- 31:59Speaker 2: to have everything off.
- 32:00Speaker 1: I mean I don't like jewelry.
- 32:02Speaker 4: I don't.
- 32:02Speaker 2: That's why I couldn't do the whole oral ring thing.
- 32:05Speaker 2: I don't know if I could wear some bracelet. Why
- 32:07Speaker 2: do I need to know that much about my life.
- 32:11Speaker 5: I don't know.
- 32:11Speaker 3: Some people like that information. They think that, Like for me,
- 32:15Speaker 3: I feel like it wouldn't help. It's like for me,
- 32:16Speaker 3: it's just like, man, I already knew only got twenty
- 32:19Speaker 3: eight percent of the sleep I should have got last night,
- 32:21Speaker 3: Like I don't need my watch to tell me that
- 32:24Speaker 3: I know.
- 32:24Speaker 2: Yeah, you're not, because that's what it's going to tell me, Michael,
- 32:27Speaker 2: you're not sleeping enough. And I get it, I'm probably
- 32:30Speaker 2: not sleeping enough. But one person said, what about the
- 32:33Speaker 2: people sitting in the airport for an early morning flight
- 32:36Speaker 2: carrying on a phone conversation? Who wants to have a long,
- 32:40Speaker 2: winning conversation at five am? That happened to me last week.
- 32:45Speaker 2: I'm in New York City, I'm trying to sit by myself,
- 32:48Speaker 2: and this lady comes over and sits next to me,
- 32:50Speaker 2: has a face. No, no, it wasn't even FaceTime conversation.
- 32:53Speaker 2: It was a phone call she was having with somebody
- 32:57Speaker 2: on speaker phone in a different language. I was so irritated,
- 33:03Speaker 2: and I mean, I'm not kidding. There was all these tables,
- 33:06Speaker 2: all these chairs all around me, completely empty, and she
- 33:10Speaker 2: sits next to me, one chair over, and I'm like,
- 33:14Speaker 2: why what is it about me that people have to
- 33:17Speaker 2: come over here and just irritate me?
- 33:18Speaker 1: I just and it happens more times than not.
- 33:21Speaker 3: My biggest pet peeve is people who use speakerphone in public.
- 33:25Speaker 1: I'm right there with you.
- 33:26Speaker 3: I literally cannot stand it. One but nobody wants to
- 33:29Speaker 3: hear your freaking conversation. Two you're on speakerphone, and ninety
- 33:34Speaker 3: percent of the time it's somebody who can barely hear
- 33:36Speaker 3: the conversation themselves, so they're yelling over the phone. Yeah,
- 33:40Speaker 3: it's always in a public setting. It's never like in private.
- 33:44Speaker 3: It's the most annoying thing that I ever see out
- 33:46Speaker 3: in public. And I don't know what it is about
- 33:47Speaker 3: airports and people see they do it all the time.
- 33:50Speaker 3: I feel like in an airport, in a loud setting,
- 33:52Speaker 3: you would need the phone to be up to your
- 33:53Speaker 3: ear so you could hear better, and maybe you just
- 33:55Speaker 3: yelling at your freaking phone.
- 33:57Speaker 2: I've always thought the best retaliation would be act like
- 34:00Speaker 2: you get a phone call and just start having a
- 34:03Speaker 2: random phone call and talking really loud next to them
- 34:06Speaker 2: and see how they react.
- 34:08Speaker 5: Yeah, that's that's.
- 34:10Speaker 1: What that's how you retaliate.
- 34:11Speaker 2: So uh, one person said letter as a first name
- 34:15Speaker 2: makes him see gangster.
- 34:17Speaker 1: On Animal Kingdom, J was a badass.
- 34:21Speaker 5: There was a J on Animal Kingdom.
- 34:24Speaker 2: I have no idea. Clearly there was on Adam. I
- 34:27Speaker 2: never watch Animal Kingdom. I would to it would come
- 34:31Speaker 2: on after some sports show and then I'm like, oh, yeah,
- 34:33Speaker 2: I'm not interested, But does it make him seeing gangster?
- 34:38Speaker 2: It is kind of cool. I will admit I'm foreseeing
- 34:42Speaker 2: T shirts or something here. My ad is J.
- 34:45Speaker 5: I mean, I mean, I guess, yeah, I don't.
- 34:48Speaker 1: Know, We'll see.
- 34:49Speaker 3: Uh.
- 34:50Speaker 2: One person said, have you all noticed Louisville keeps putting
- 34:53Speaker 2: out videos of their players shooting with no defense, trying
- 34:56Speaker 2: to convince us that they do indeed have shooters. My
- 34:59Speaker 2: pubmass can't hit threes with no defense. They're idiot. Fans
- 35:03Speaker 2: are eating it up. That's Texas the day so far.
- 35:09Speaker 2: I love that right there. I haven't watched the video.
- 35:13Speaker 1: So I don't know.
- 35:14Speaker 3: I literally saw a video yesterday of Milan man Chilovich
- 35:17Speaker 3: just shooting open three pointers, and the entire reply section
- 35:21Speaker 3: was like, We're.
- 35:22Speaker 5: Gonna see this all season.
- 35:23Speaker 1: I can't wait.
- 35:25Speaker 5: I know every team, every team has the stuff.
- 35:28Speaker 1: Yeah, but it was fun.
- 35:29Speaker 2: I did see the Mom Chilovich video, and it was
- 35:32Speaker 2: pretty fun to watch, I will say, because that's the
- 35:36Speaker 2: one thing we've been missing a lot, is the shooters.
- 35:40Speaker 2: And we think we have a shooter and either he
- 35:43Speaker 2: gets injured and he doesn't become the shooter. So anyway,
- 35:47Speaker 2: a lot of people are going freaking out because the
- 35:49Speaker 2: whole cam Williams wearing a boot. But listen, be be patient,
- 35:53Speaker 2: be calm, don't overreact to some of the things you're
- 35:57Speaker 2: seeing on Twitter. But anyway, it's it's really not that
- 36:00Speaker 2: big of a deal. Right now, we got to take
- 36:01Speaker 2: another break. I'll get back to your text as soon
- 36:04Speaker 2: as we get back. But as well as the announcement
- 36:07Speaker 2: of some of these non conference games, we'll talk about
- 36:11Speaker 2: that next stay right there. More of Justin Katz is
- 36:14Speaker 2: coming right up after this. All right, So yesterday University
- 36:40Speaker 2: of Kentucky basketball.
- 36:42Speaker 1: Announced that they added some more.
- 36:44Speaker 2: Non conference games. Matthew, and I want to talk to
- 36:47Speaker 2: you about these right now, and let me go through
- 36:50Speaker 2: the list until we start talking about it, all right.
- 36:54Speaker 2: November six James Madison November thirteenth, They're in Arizona November sixteenth,
- 37:03Speaker 2: Grambling State December eighth, Bryant December twenty second, Sacred Heart
- 37:11Speaker 2: in December twenty eighth, Gardner Webb, I, I.
- 37:18Speaker 5: It sounds like amazing out of conference schedule.
- 37:20Speaker 1: Yeah, that's kind of how I felt.
- 37:22Speaker 2: I mean, I know UK is playing North Carolina, Kansas,
- 37:26Speaker 2: U of L and the likes of those teams, but
- 37:30Speaker 2: in Virginia for that fact, which I am excited about
- 37:33Speaker 2: the Virginia game. I think that's fun to see a
- 37:37Speaker 2: scheduled there by the University Kentucky. But when I saw this,
- 37:42Speaker 2: I was, I guess the best way to describe it, Matthew,
- 37:47Speaker 2: I was really underwhelmed and probably even more agitated. If
- 37:54Speaker 2: I'm a season ticket holder, I'm not happy about this.
- 38:00Speaker 2: You spend lots of money to go see this team playing.
- 38:02Speaker 2: This is your home schedule and outside the conference, and
- 38:06Speaker 2: I'm like, this is really frustrating. So they've really drastically
- 38:09Speaker 2: changed to make certain that Mark Pope hopefully succeeds at
- 38:14Speaker 2: a non conference schedule as brutal as this.
- 38:17Speaker 3: One, especially coming off a year where last season he
- 38:21Speaker 3: was doing the whole like raw Rah. We want to
- 38:23Speaker 3: play as many great teams as possible, and we want
- 38:25Speaker 3: to play we don't want to play forty games. We
- 38:27Speaker 3: want to play fifty games. We want to you know,
- 38:29Speaker 3: we want to do all this stuff. And then so
- 38:32Speaker 3: you go from talking like that to scheduling this, Like
- 38:35Speaker 3: you said, you they do still have good games, like
- 38:37Speaker 3: they're not playing anybody.
- 38:38Speaker 5: The whole season, but it is a it is a
- 38:41Speaker 5: very drastic change.
- 38:42Speaker 3: It seems, like you said, seems like they're trying to
- 38:44Speaker 3: give him the best possible scenario to succeed. And I
- 38:47Speaker 3: feel like, almost if I'm a Kentucky basketball fan, obviously
- 38:51Speaker 3: I'm very disappointed in how the last season went and
- 38:53Speaker 3: how the Mark Pope tenure has kind of gone so far,
- 38:56Speaker 3: Like it's just not up to the standard of what
- 38:58Speaker 3: you would want. This would kind of make me mad,
- 39:02Speaker 3: Like you know, it's yeah, it feels like, okay, so
- 39:05Speaker 3: instead of trying to focus on getting better and trying
- 39:08Speaker 3: to fix the problems we have, we're just gonna schedule
- 39:10Speaker 3: worst teams and we're gonna just gonna get in the
- 39:12Speaker 3: tournament and hope we can figure it out.
- 39:14Speaker 2: Kind of upset, See, you took the words right out
- 39:18Speaker 2: of my mouth last year and the year before. We
- 39:20Speaker 2: want to play the toughest schedule in the country. We
- 39:22Speaker 2: want to play the best teams because it's gonna make
- 39:25Speaker 2: us better, and then you put out this non conference
- 39:27Speaker 2: after a season that didn't turn out. It's like, okay,
- 39:30Speaker 2: you're talking about out of both sides of your mouth.
- 39:32Speaker 1: I listen.
- 39:34Speaker 2: Uh, y'all have heard me say this multiple times. I
- 39:38Speaker 2: want Mark Pope to succeed. I like Mark Pope. I
- 39:42Speaker 2: look forward to him being at univers Kentucky for a
- 39:44Speaker 2: long time. But when I see something like this, I
- 39:47Speaker 2: hate do we use the phrase cop out, but this
- 39:52Speaker 2: is a bit of a cop.
- 39:53Speaker 1: Out as far as I'm concerned.
- 39:55Speaker 2: It's like, Okay, we got some tough games, but let's
- 39:58Speaker 2: we gotta get some easy games here. I didn't like it,
- 40:02Speaker 2: and I thought, Okay, the Gardener Web, Yes, they beat
- 40:06Speaker 2: us in the past, but I've heard of clearly we heard.
- 40:12Speaker 2: We know James Madison never knew there was a Northern
- 40:16Speaker 2: Arizona until yesterday?
- 40:17Speaker 1: Did you? Nope? I never knew there was a Bryant
- 40:22Speaker 1: until yesterday. Did you?
- 40:24Speaker 5: I have heard of Bryant University?
- 40:26Speaker 1: You have? Where is Bryant University?
- 40:29Speaker 5: No clue.
- 40:29Speaker 3: I'm just I don't know if maybe like a player
- 40:31Speaker 3: or a coach I know went to Brian or something
- 40:33Speaker 3: like that.
- 40:34Speaker 5: I've just heard. I've heard of the university before.
- 40:36Speaker 2: And the only Sacred Heart I know is in Louisville,
- 40:38Speaker 2: Kentucky and it's a girls' school.
- 40:40Speaker 5: True, I have heard of Sacred Heart.
- 40:43Speaker 2: Oh you have heard of Sacred Heart outside of the Louisville, Kentucky.
- 40:46Speaker 5: No idea where it's at, but I've heard of.
- 40:48Speaker 2: It, Okay, all right, And the only thing about Northern
- 40:50Speaker 2: Arizona is that it's probably in the northern part of
- 40:53Speaker 2: the state. That's it, we believe, So yeah, yeah, we
- 40:58Speaker 2: well exactly, it might not, it might be in New Mexico.
- 41:01Speaker 2: We just so we don't know, and they just kind
- 41:04Speaker 2: of misdirected it and it's ends up being Northern Arizona
- 41:08Speaker 2: New Mexico State University.
- 41:09Speaker 1: Who knows.
- 41:10Speaker 2: But it's one of those directional schools and and good
- 41:13Speaker 2: for them, but uh yeah, it's it's it's underwhelming.
- 41:17Speaker 5: And so do you do we know when these games are?
- 41:22Speaker 1: Like? Are these I said? The dates? Oh?
- 41:24Speaker 5: I did?
- 41:25Speaker 1: Okay, you weren't even listening to me the schools.
- 41:28Speaker 5: I wasn't listening to the dates.
- 41:29Speaker 2: I'll be okay. November sixth, okay is James Madison. November
- 41:33Speaker 2: thirteenth is Northern Arizona. November sixteenth is Grambling State, so
- 41:39Speaker 2: clearly those are back to back games. December eighth is Bryant,
- 41:43Speaker 2: December twenty second Sacred Heart, and December twenty eighth is
- 41:47Speaker 2: Gardner Web.
- 41:49Speaker 3: So three of those are like, yeah, I figured they
- 41:52Speaker 3: would all be earlier in the season obviously, but yeah,
- 41:55Speaker 3: I mean you, that's a lot of those in a row,
- 41:59Speaker 3: you know what I mean. Like, that's it's not like
- 42:01Speaker 3: those are sprinkled throughout the season to give your guys right. Like,
- 42:04Speaker 3: let's say you go on like a two game losing skid,
- 42:07Speaker 3: but you play two really good top fifteen, top twenty
- 42:09Speaker 3: five teams in the SEC and then you get one
- 42:11Speaker 3: of those sprinkled in the middle as like a confidence booster.
- 42:14Speaker 3: You don't have any of those. They're all in the row,
- 42:17Speaker 3: which feels like it's kind of meant to get guys
- 42:21Speaker 3: going early and then figure it out later down the road.
- 42:23Speaker 5: I don't know.
- 42:24Speaker 1: Yeah. Yeah.
- 42:25Speaker 2: One person texted in Michael, watch Animal Kingdom. You will
- 42:29Speaker 2: love it. Okay, you've watched Animal Kingdom before, Matthew, No idea. Okay, now,
- 42:36Speaker 2: I'll watch it. I'll watch it just to go see
- 42:38Speaker 2: j So I'll definitely do that. Uh. One person said, um,
- 42:44Speaker 2: make sure to get her the clapper and not the
- 42:47Speaker 2: clap two differently, two different things, completely different things, and
- 42:52Speaker 2: I'm pretty sure she won't be happy with the latter.
- 42:55Speaker 5: Yeah, we can, I can. I can make sure that
- 42:57Speaker 5: doesn't happen.
- 42:58Speaker 2: Why not play Beller, Murray or other local schools rather
- 43:02Speaker 2: than some of those no name schools. I see, I'm
- 43:04Speaker 2: right there with you to me, and I've said this
- 43:09Speaker 2: a few times.
- 43:10Speaker 1: It would be fun.
- 43:11Speaker 2: Since they're now renovating Freedom Hall, spending a lot of
- 43:14Speaker 2: money over there at Freedom Hall, why not play Beller
- 43:17Speaker 2: minute Freedom Hall. Since U of L won't let you
- 43:19Speaker 2: use Young Ciner, just go for use Freedom Hall. That
- 43:22Speaker 2: would be fantastic for the local fan base here in
- 43:25Speaker 2: Loisvill Like they used to do years ago.
- 43:27Speaker 1: They would play.
- 43:28Speaker 2: Indiana here in Louisville every other year. They'd play Notre
- 43:33Speaker 2: Dame every year in the Freedom Hall and it's that
- 43:36Speaker 2: was a lot of fun. So I'm right there with you.
- 43:38Speaker 2: Murray State would be a good one. I think it
- 43:40Speaker 2: would be awesome. If Kentucky said, you know what, once
- 43:44Speaker 2: a year we will play in away game at a
- 43:49Speaker 2: state school. And you talk about fans going nuts. If
- 43:56Speaker 2: UK went down to, for instance, Richmond and played or
- 44:00Speaker 2: a few k went down to Murray and played Murray State,
- 44:04Speaker 2: or Bowling Green and played Western Kentucky, don't you think
- 44:09Speaker 2: that would raise a lot of excitement, not just for
- 44:13Speaker 2: the opposing team, but for the fan base down there.
- 44:17Speaker 2: For UK, that would be one of the most sought
- 44:20Speaker 2: out tickets the entire season, And I wish they would
- 44:24Speaker 2: do something like that.
- 44:25Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean for the sole fact that I mean,
- 44:28Speaker 3: Kentucky's the state school. You know, there's fans all over
- 44:31Speaker 3: the state. So if you go into one of those areas,
- 44:34Speaker 3: like yeah, it's a smaller school that's not known for sports, obviously,
- 44:37Speaker 3: you get it. You give a chance for Kentucky fans
- 44:39Speaker 3: all over the place to get to see a game. Uh.
- 44:42Speaker 3: The only thing is those tickets would have to be
- 44:44Speaker 3: like super cheap, Like you couldn't price them like a
- 44:47Speaker 3: like a rep arena game or something like that. Obviously,
- 44:49Speaker 3: it'd be away game, so it'd be priced whatever the
- 44:51Speaker 3: other team wants to make them. But I think it'd
- 44:54Speaker 3: be cool to give other fans an opportunity to go
- 44:56Speaker 3: to see Kentucky play.
- 44:58Speaker 2: One person said, you raise complained about the schedule. Every year,
- 45:02Speaker 2: Kentucky plays plenty of marquee games while also playing in
- 45:05Speaker 2: the SEC. You want every game to be a top
- 45:08Speaker 2: twenty five game. No one does that. We play Kansas,
- 45:11Speaker 2: North Carolina, Louisville, Virginia, Indiana complain about something else. I
- 45:17Speaker 2: don't think I'm complaining about it, but I certainly am criticizing,
- 45:20Speaker 2: especially when Mark Pope said he wants to play the
- 45:23Speaker 2: most difficult schedule every single year, and then you see.
- 45:26Speaker 3: Especially because those are all home games, like you said,
- 45:29Speaker 3: so you're just, yeah, you're using your home games on
- 45:32Speaker 3: scheduling like that.
- 45:33Speaker 2: I don't think it's the schedule I'm necessarily complaining about
- 45:37Speaker 2: the most Texter. It's it's most likely more of why
- 45:41Speaker 2: are we playing these games at home? That's what I
- 45:45Speaker 2: don't like, because you look at the North Carolina games
- 45:49Speaker 2: that in likes. The Virginia game will hopefully be in
- 45:53Speaker 2: Lexington next year, but you got the U.
- 45:57Speaker 1: Of L every other year.
- 45:59Speaker 2: But the really marquee games are always somewhere else in
- 46:04Speaker 2: a neutral sight, and I never liked that, he said,
- 46:07Speaker 2: Kentucky schedule is harder than Louisville's. What is Matt talking
- 46:11Speaker 2: about our schedule? I'm not even the one who brought
- 46:14Speaker 2: up the conferendation. Well that's fair, but anyway, I don't
- 46:19Speaker 2: think you're ever going to satisfy anybody. But all right,
- 46:22Speaker 2: our two coming up right now. When we come back,
- 46:26Speaker 2: we'll get back to your text as well. Keeping coming
- 46:28Speaker 2: in and Mark Pope is looking at possibly adding another player.
- 46:33Speaker 2: We'll talk about that as well as Will Stein had
- 46:36Speaker 2: something on yesterday that made me very happy and his
- 46:40Speaker 2: video regarding welcoming Jay Bett as the new Athletic UK.
- 46:45Speaker 2: Stay right there, Our two of Justin Kat's coming up.
- 47:00Speaker 1: Welcome to Just the Cats with Michael Bennett. Our number
- 47:10Speaker 1: two of Just the Cats?
- 47:11Speaker 4: Uh?
- 47:13Speaker 1: Yeah, did you did you go back? And how this?
- 47:15Speaker 1: I sound crazy wild right now?
- 47:19Speaker 5: Sound very loud.
- 47:21Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 47:22Speaker 2: I haven't changed a single thing on this thing, so
- 47:26Speaker 2: I don't know what's going on here. We might have
- 47:28Speaker 2: to fix this at the next break, but uh, anyway, Uh,
- 47:32Speaker 2: did you.
- 47:35Speaker 1: Are you okay?
- 47:36Speaker 5: I'm good?
- 47:37Speaker 1: Okay? Do I sound totally distorted like I do in
- 47:40Speaker 1: my ears?
- 47:40Speaker 3: I mean like you don't sound as good as you
- 47:43Speaker 3: did before, but it was it's not as bad as
- 47:44Speaker 3: it was yesterday.
- 47:46Speaker 1: All Right, I might have to disconnect and reconnect in
- 47:48Speaker 1: a little bit.
- 47:49Speaker 2: But uh, have you gone back to watch that video
- 47:54Speaker 2: of Willie caley Stein being interviewed.
- 47:56Speaker 3: I was going to, and then I realized that I
- 47:58Speaker 3: have to play you through the PC pod, so I
- 48:00Speaker 3: can't listen to it without playing.
- 48:01Speaker 2: It over air, So I can't even Yeah, it's actually yeah,
- 48:05Speaker 2: you can't play it over here.
- 48:06Speaker 1: You gotta go watch that private.
- 48:07Speaker 2: It's it's a it's an eye opening interview, uh, talking
- 48:11Speaker 2: about his best friend being who passed away after being
- 48:16Speaker 2: killed in his house. I mean it was kind of crazy,
- 48:18Speaker 2: but uh uh I've always liked Willie cauley Stein. So
- 48:21Speaker 2: text with Ohio got thank you for sending me that.
- 48:24Speaker 2: I will watch the rest of that interview a little later.
- 48:27Speaker 2: It's it's it's pretty moving. Everybody that hasn't seen that,
- 48:29Speaker 2: you need to go, uh see that video. It's just
- 48:33Speaker 2: uh something else. So it's it's Willie caully Stein on
- 48:36Speaker 2: having one of his best friends kill his other and

- 49:39Speaker 6: that right now, very hot. Rub it in, Michael, No,
- 49:43Speaker 6: I'll rub.
- 49:43Speaker 1: It in nothing.
- 49:44Speaker 2: I would like to be in Kentucky right now, but
- 49:46Speaker 2: I'm not rubbing the thing that's I'm here working. I'm
- 49:49Speaker 2: not having any fun going around the beach. I'm I'm
- 49:53Speaker 2: in central Florida, so it's it's not even where that's
- 49:56Speaker 2: overly like, Oh, vacation time.
- 49:58Speaker 6: But anyway, but what's going on today? This week is
- 50:02Speaker 6: June fourteenth through the twentieth. Start off with June fourteenth,
- 50:07Speaker 6: nineteen ninety six. Great year for a cats comedy film.
- 50:12Speaker 6: The Cable Guy is releasing, figures. Have you all seen
- 50:15Speaker 6: The Cable Guy?
- 50:16Speaker 3: I know, Larry the Cable Guy. Not quite the same thing.
- 50:20Speaker 3: But sorry, that's unfortunate, Michael, anything with the Cable Guy.
- 50:25Speaker 3: Michael disconnected from the call, so it's just you and I. Oh,
- 50:28Speaker 3: all right, well so as soon as he jumps in,
- 50:31Speaker 3: we can know here you go here he is.
- 50:34Speaker 1: Yeah right, I just reconnected. It still sounds terrible.
- 50:37Speaker 6: Oh, well, have you seen The Cable Guy?
- 50:40Speaker 2: Michael Bennett Cable Guy? I love that movie with Matthew Broderick.
- 50:44Speaker 6: Yes, directed by Ben Stiller, stars Diane Baker, Jack Black,
- 50:50Speaker 6: Matthew Broderick. As you mentioned, Jim Carrey, Leslie Mann, George
- 50:54Speaker 6: Segal and Ben Stiller as director and actor.
- 50:58Speaker 2: The film grows. I didn't know Instiller directed that movie. Wow,
- 51:04Speaker 2: he can do me things. I guess the film that's
- 51:08Speaker 2: a bit of a dark comedy, is it is?
- 51:10Speaker 4: It is dark?
- 51:11Speaker 6: Yes, not not typical Jim Carrey comedy. The film gross
- 51:17Speaker 6: approximately sixty point two million dollars domestically, making it the
- 51:21Speaker 6: nineteenth highest crouction film of nineteen ninety six. And the
- 51:25Speaker 6: film was not only for three MTV Movie Awards, winning
- 51:29Speaker 6: two Best Comedic Performance and Best Villain, which were both
- 51:34Speaker 6: won by Jim Carrey.
- 51:35Speaker 2: Actually, I'm curious Corey and Matthew. Do you think they'll
- 51:41Speaker 2: continue the MTV Awards even though MTV is a shell
- 51:44Speaker 2: of what it used to be. I think it's it
- 51:48Speaker 2: might be done now. I think so it is? Okay,
- 51:51Speaker 2: so they don't do the MTV Awards anymore?
- 51:54Speaker 6: Not not aware of No, So we'll see uh next.
- 52:01Speaker 6: June fifteenth, two thousand and five, The superhero film Batman
- 52:06Speaker 6: Begins is Lisa Figgers all big fans of Batman films.
- 52:12Speaker 5: No best Batman trilogy ever made?
- 52:15Speaker 4: I agree wrong?
- 52:17Speaker 1: Who was the best Batman?
- 52:19Speaker 5: Christian Bale.
- 52:20Speaker 6: It's between Bail and Keaton for me, for sure, It's
- 52:23Speaker 6: like real Bail and who Keaton? Michael Keaton. Yeah, yeah,
- 52:27Speaker 6: it's Michael Keaton. To me, it's nobody else. I mean,
- 52:30Speaker 6: they're both pretty good.
- 52:32Speaker 1: Uh.
- 52:32Speaker 6: Directed by Christopher Nolan, it stars, of course, Christian Bale,
- 52:35Speaker 6: his first movie as Batman, Michael Caine, Morgan Freeman, Katie Holmes,
- 52:42Speaker 6: Killian Murphy, Liam Neeson, and Gary Oldman. The film gross
- 52:47Speaker 6: approximate two hundred and six point nine million dollars domestically,
- 52:51Speaker 6: maybe it the seventh highest grossing film of two thousand
- 52:54Speaker 6: and five. The film was nominally for nine Saturn Awards,
- 52:59Speaker 6: winning Best Actor, Best Fantasy Film, and Best Screenplay.
- 53:08Speaker 5: Anne Hathaway and Dark Knight Rises taught me a lot
- 53:11Speaker 5: about myself.
- 53:13Speaker 2: Okay, okay, you got to explain yourself a little more.
- 53:16Speaker 2: You think so you're one of those that thinks Anne
- 53:18Speaker 2: Hathaway is hot.
- 53:20Speaker 5: I think she is genuinely one of the most attractive women.
- 53:22Speaker 1: On this planet. I couldn't disagree more.
- 53:26Speaker 6: I'm sure your girlfriend loves to hear hear that.
- 53:29Speaker 5: She probably thinks Ann Hathaway is hot too.
- 53:35Speaker 6: June sixteenth, nineteen ninety five, the super hero film Batman
- 53:40Speaker 6: Forever is read lucent theaters. Did you like Batman Forever?
- 53:45Speaker 1: Never saw it? I only saw the original?
- 53:48Speaker 4: Yeah, well, all right.
- 53:50Speaker 6: Directed by Joel Schumacher, it stars Jim Carrey, Michael Goff,
- 53:55Speaker 6: Pat Hingele Timmer, Lee Jones, Nicole Kidman, Al Kimer as
- 54:00Speaker 6: Batman and Chris O'Donnell.
- 54:03Speaker 5: Jim Carrey played the Riddler right, yes, yes.
- 54:08Speaker 6: And Tommy Jones was two face. Chris O'Donnell was Robin.
- 54:13Speaker 4: I believe.
- 54:15Speaker 6: Film grosser proxy one hundred and eighty four zero point
- 54:17Speaker 6: one million dollars domestically, making it the highest cruction film
- 54:21Speaker 6: of nineteen ninety five. The film was nombingly for six
- 54:26Speaker 6: MTV Movie Awards, but came away with zero wins.
- 54:31Speaker 4: Over six.
- 54:33Speaker 6: June seventeenth, nineteen eighty three, there's another super hero film,
- 54:39Speaker 6: Superman three is read with introduced.
- 54:42Speaker 4: You see that.
- 54:44Speaker 6: Movie, Michael, No, I have not. I'm gonna go with no, Matthew.
- 54:51Speaker 5: I have not seen it. I've never been a big
- 54:52Speaker 5: Superman fan.
- 54:53Speaker 2: Okay, yeah, I'm not big on the I mean the
- 54:57Speaker 2: original Batman was good. I never saw Man. I never
- 55:01Speaker 2: saw Superman. I just that's not my type of genre.
- 55:06Speaker 3: I was never just a big DC guy. I always
- 55:08Speaker 3: liked DC villains more than I like the superheroes.
- 55:11Speaker 2: Oh really, because I think the best villain was Jack
- 55:15Speaker 2: Nicholson when he was the Joker.
- 55:17Speaker 4: He was pretty good. Yes.
- 55:20Speaker 6: So this was directed by Richard Lester, stars Jackie Cooper,
- 55:25Speaker 6: Margo Kidder, Mark McClure and neett O'Toole, Richard Pryor, Christopher
- 55:31Speaker 6: Reeve as Superman, and Robert Vaughan. The film gross approximately
- 55:37Speaker 6: sixty million dollars domestically, make it the eleventh highest grossing
- 55:42Speaker 6: film of nineteen eighty three. And this didn't get great reviews.
- 55:49Speaker 6: The film was ninety for two Golden Raspberry Awards Worst
- 55:56Speaker 6: Music Score and Worst Supporting Actor, but they didn't win,
- 56:00Speaker 6: and so, I guess that's a good thing. June eighteenth,
- 56:04Speaker 6: twenty ten, the adventure comedy film Toy Story three is
- 56:11Speaker 6: read the theaters. Yeah, a big toy I know Michael's
- 56:14Speaker 6: not a big Toy Story fan, but you're a Toy
- 56:17Speaker 6: Story fan, Matthew.
- 56:17Speaker 5: I am.
- 56:18Speaker 3: The fourth one sucked. I'm excited for the fifth one though,
- 56:21Speaker 3: gives up the Friday right?
- 56:22Speaker 1: Oh my god?
- 56:23Speaker 5: Yeah, I believe.
- 56:23Speaker 2: So. I saw the first one and that's it. The
- 56:26Speaker 2: second one. The second one is the best one.
- 56:29Speaker 1: Is it? Really?
- 56:30Speaker 4: He was pretty good?
- 56:31Speaker 1: Okay?
- 56:32Speaker 6: Directed by Lee unk Rich, it features the voices of
- 56:36Speaker 6: Tim Allen ned Baty, which I think ned Baty's from Louisville.
- 56:39Speaker 1: I believe, yeah, ned Betty's from Louisville. I always like
- 56:42Speaker 1: ned Baby.
- 56:42Speaker 2: Yeah, I think one of his he was in all
- 56:45Speaker 2: He was in The Shooter, which was with Mark Wahlberg,
- 56:49Speaker 2: unbelievable movie. But he was also in that Rodney Dangerfield
- 56:54Speaker 2: movie Back to School. Did y'all ever see that movie that's.
- 56:59Speaker 6: Got the Is that Robert Downey Junior two am?
- 57:01Speaker 1: I think exactly.
- 57:02Speaker 2: Robert Downey Junior was in that as well. I mean,
- 57:05Speaker 2: back to School is one of those movies. It's just like,
- 57:09Speaker 2: to me, it's almost iconic. I love back to School.
- 57:13Speaker 2: Anytime it comes on, I have to watch it. It
- 57:16Speaker 2: had Sam Kinnison, if you remember, the famous comedian that
- 57:21Speaker 2: was always yelling. It's just he was a really funny guy,
- 57:26Speaker 2: so that he was in that. I mean, back to
- 57:28Speaker 2: School is one of my all time favorites. And it
- 57:30Speaker 2: had you know, the guy from a Little In which
- 57:33Speaker 2: I liked.
- 57:35Speaker 6: Also features Joan Cusack, Tom Hanks, Stelle Harris, Michael Keaton,

- 57:59Speaker 6: Best Animated Feature and Best Original Song, which was We
- 58:05Speaker 6: Belong Together by Rainy Newman. June nineteenth, twenty fifteen, the
- 58:13Speaker 6: coming of age film inside Out is release Diitters. I
- 58:18Speaker 6: doubt Michael Bennon saw this.
- 58:21Speaker 1: I've never even heard of the movie.
- 58:22Speaker 5: You never heard of inside Out?
- 58:24Speaker 1: No, I've never heard of it.
- 58:25Speaker 3: I think the second one now is the highest grossing
- 58:27Speaker 3: animated film ever.
- 58:29Speaker 6: You Have You're Right Actually, directed by Pete Doctor, features
- 58:34Speaker 6: the voices of Lewis Black, Bill Hayter, Many Kayline, Richard Kinde,
- 58:41Speaker 6: Diane Lane, Kyle McLaughlin, Amy Poehler, and Phyllis Smith.
- 58:48Speaker 2: I'm a big Bill Hayter and Amy Poehler fan, but
- 58:50Speaker 2: I've never seen that movie.
- 58:52Speaker 6: Flack People film grosser approxtionate three hundred and fifty six
- 58:55Speaker 6: point five million dollars domestically. Maget the fourth highest Rosman
- 58:59Speaker 6: film of twenty fifteen, and the film was nominated for
- 59:04Speaker 6: two Academy Awards, winning won for Best and the Native Feature.
- 59:11Speaker 4: Last One.
- 59:12Speaker 6: June twentieth, nineteen seventy four, The neo noir mystery film
- 59:17Speaker 6: Chinatown is releasing theaters. Did you ever see China hown.
- 59:22Speaker 1: I saw Chinatown. That didn't that have Jack Lemon, not that.
- 59:26Speaker 4: I'm aware of.
- 59:27Speaker 2: Okay, I'm thinking of the wrong one. Then I'm not
- 59:30Speaker 2: sure I saw it.
- 59:32Speaker 6: Directed by Roman Polanski, stars Faye Denaway, John Hillerman, John Houston,
- 59:41Speaker 6: Perry Lopez, Jack Nicholson, and Bert Young. The film gross
- 59:46Speaker 6: approximately twenty nine point two million dollars domestically, againt the
- 59:50Speaker 6: thirteenth highest ruction film of nineteen seventy four. In two
- 59:54Speaker 6: thousand and seven, the American Film Institute ranked the movie
- 59:57Speaker 6: number twenty one as less of the top one hundred
- 1:00:00Speaker 6: films and the American cinema history. Hmm, Jack, I mean
- 1:00:06Speaker 6: back to back years he had Chinatown and One Flew
- 1:00:09Speaker 6: Over They.
- 1:00:16Speaker 1: I saw that movie. That was a great movie.
- 1:00:19Speaker 6: Pretty pretty hard to beat those back to back years
- 1:00:22Speaker 6: of films.
- 1:00:23Speaker 2: Yeah, Because you know, every time I would think of
- 1:00:26Speaker 2: the Lakers, I always though of Jack Nicholson because he
- 1:00:29Speaker 2: would always be there on the court, sitting and watching
- 1:00:32Speaker 2: the game. Every time I think of the Knicks, I
- 1:00:34Speaker 2: think of Spike Lee.
- 1:00:36Speaker 1: Uh.
- 1:00:36Speaker 2: And now they've made it to where it's been as
- 1:00:39Speaker 2: well Ben Stiller and who's the other kid? The shallow
- 1:00:43Speaker 2: may Timothay shallow may I and I don't even know
- 1:00:47Speaker 2: who he is. I don't think I've ever seen a
- 1:00:49Speaker 2: single movie, and they're acting like he's some big actor.
- 1:00:52Speaker 2: Is he really that big of a celebrity? Have you
- 1:00:55Speaker 2: seen Marty Supreme?
- 1:00:58Speaker 1: Never saw it?
- 1:01:00Speaker 3: He is like the only real movie star and like
- 1:01:04Speaker 3: the gen Z era, like he's like Tom Cruise level
- 1:01:07Speaker 3: at this point?
- 1:01:08Speaker 1: Is he really he's?
- 1:01:09Speaker 2: Okay? I take it back then, all right? So what
- 1:01:12Speaker 2: movies have you seen with him in it?
- 1:01:14Speaker 3: He's in both Dune movies, Maarty Supreme, Corey's. He was
- 1:01:19Speaker 3: in Wonka as well, the Willie Wonka remake. What was
- 1:01:23Speaker 3: that movie with Florence Pugh he was in.
- 1:01:27Speaker 4: I don't know.
- 1:01:27Speaker 6: But the one I like most is Marty that He's
- 1:01:30Speaker 6: He's great in that.
- 1:01:33Speaker 1: Red So you really like him? Is that fair to say, Matthew.
- 1:01:37Speaker 5: He's my favorite actor right now?
- 1:01:39Speaker 1: Is he really? Okay? I just didn't know you.
- 1:01:42Speaker 2: The only thing I know him for is for being
- 1:01:44Speaker 2: some supposed big Knicks fan and he dates one of
- 1:01:47Speaker 2: the Kardashians.
- 1:01:48Speaker 3: Okay, Corey. So this year is I mean, at least
- 1:01:51Speaker 3: in my memory, one of like the craziest years in cinema.
- 1:01:55Speaker 3: In a long time, with how many like really big
- 1:01:57Speaker 3: movies are coming out. What's been your favorite movie you've
- 1:02:00Speaker 3: watched so far? And what's the movie you're most excited for?
- 1:02:02Speaker 6: Here on a great question this year, man, Uh, I'm trying.
- 1:02:08Speaker 4: I'm trying. What I've seen this year?
- 1:02:10Speaker 6: Uh, well, I'll tell you the strangest film I probably
- 1:02:14Speaker 6: ever seen him Probably we'll see you. I saw a
- 1:02:17Speaker 6: film called back Rooms this past Uh saw that on
- 1:02:23Speaker 6: Friday Saturday. It's the weirdest move movie I've ever seen.
- 1:02:27Speaker 4: Uh.
- 1:02:28Speaker 6: I still don't understand what what what I saw? But
- 1:02:31Speaker 6: it was different. Yeah, it's it's strange. I don't think
- 1:02:36Speaker 6: Michael would would be a big big fan of it.
- 1:02:40Speaker 1: Why is that?
- 1:02:41Speaker 6: It's just for me?
- 1:02:43Speaker 1: It's just hard.
- 1:02:45Speaker 6: It's hard to explain. Okay, I don't want to spoil
- 1:02:48Speaker 6: it if you do want to see it.
- 1:02:49Speaker 2: But it's oh see, I've surprised my wife by some
- 1:02:51Speaker 2: of the things I will watch with her, and she's like,
- 1:02:53Speaker 2: I never thought you would like something like that, So
- 1:02:55Speaker 2: who knows.
- 1:02:56Speaker 1: Corey, I might surprise you.
- 1:02:58Speaker 6: I think you and your wife would have a blast
- 1:03:00Speaker 6: washing that together.
- 1:03:01Speaker 1: It's okay, I tell you why. I'll give it a try.
- 1:03:05Speaker 6: I'm trying to think, what's the best one I've seen
- 1:03:07Speaker 6: so far? I have a terrible memory, you know. Actually,
- 1:03:12Speaker 6: I know it sounds crazy, but Toy Toy Story five,
- 1:03:15Speaker 6: it's it's gonna be pretty pretty nice.
- 1:03:16Speaker 4: Actually, Uh, I believe.
- 1:03:21Speaker 6: Tony O'Brien is gonna be the voice of a character.
- 1:03:25Speaker 1: I saw that. Yeah, that.
- 1:03:28Speaker 3: The best movie I've seen so far this year. It
- 1:03:31Speaker 3: was probably Project Hill Mary. I think it's I have
- 1:03:33Speaker 3: not seen seen that yet. That's really good. Obsessions my
- 1:03:36Speaker 3: favorite movie of this year so far. You need to
- 1:03:39Speaker 3: see that one. That one's really good. And then the
- 1:03:41Speaker 3: one I'm most excited for is The Odyssey.
- 1:03:44Speaker 6: Oh the New Christopher Nolan. Yes, yeah, I'm curious with
- 1:03:50Speaker 6: both of y'all. What is your all time favorite movie?
- 1:03:54Speaker 6: And then what is your all time favorite sports movie? Corey,
- 1:03:58Speaker 6: I'll start with you, what's your favorite all time movie?
- 1:04:02Speaker 4: Man?
- 1:04:04Speaker 6: Uh, it's tough. I can go by genre. I mean comedy, No.
- 1:04:10Speaker 2: It has no, no, no, no, it has to be
- 1:04:12Speaker 2: all time favorite movie.
- 1:04:13Speaker 4: I mean the.
- 1:04:14Speaker 6: One, the one I can watch over and over and
- 1:04:17Speaker 6: over and never retired of is uh?
- 1:04:20Speaker 4: I love.
- 1:04:22Speaker 6: Is what dim and Dummer dumb really Wow, ok, I
- 1:04:28Speaker 6: love best sports movie.
- 1:04:33Speaker 2: I mean, I like Rudy, you like what Rudy Rudy
- 1:04:40Speaker 2: Really Yeah, I just wish it wasn't set with Notre Dame.
- 1:04:43Speaker 1: That's the only thing I wish.
- 1:04:44Speaker 6: It's it's a good story, so you know it is
- 1:04:47Speaker 6: a great though it's not true. Well yeah, parts of
- 1:04:51Speaker 6: her true. Yeah, yeah, from the last play. But mate,
- 1:04:55Speaker 6: favorite movie of all time? My favorite movie of all
- 1:04:58Speaker 6: time is is Shutter Island.
- 1:05:01Speaker 1: That's a good one. Yes.
- 1:05:02Speaker 5: My favorite sports movie of all Thomas coach Carter?
- 1:05:06Speaker 1: Is it really? Okay? I hate to tell you my favorite.
- 1:05:10Speaker 2: Well, a lot of times I'll say my favorite movie
- 1:05:13Speaker 2: is a sports movie, and that's the natural between that
- 1:05:17Speaker 2: and Moneyball, those two are my favorite. And then I
- 1:05:19Speaker 2: guess if I have to separate it out and then
- 1:05:21Speaker 2: it's not, it would be Wall Street. I love the
- 1:05:24Speaker 2: movie Wall Street. If y'all have have either, that's another
- 1:05:30Speaker 2: that's a great one, right there.
- 1:05:32Speaker 1: No, there is a movie called Wall Street.
- 1:05:35Speaker 6: Charlie Sheen and Michael Douglas. Greed is good, right exactly?
- 1:05:44Speaker 2: Yeah, great line, right there, Corey, perfect greed is good.
- 1:05:49Speaker 4: I agree with that.
- 1:05:50Speaker 2: But yeah, I think a lot of people always remember
- 1:05:54Speaker 2: Blue Horseshoe loves Anacott Steel, and this was a code
- 1:06:00Speaker 2: in the movie.
- 1:06:01Speaker 3: So you've never seen it before, have you, Matthew, No,
- 1:06:04Speaker 3: I've never seen this movie.
- 1:06:05Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, You've got to go because you know what
- 1:06:07Speaker 2: I'm talking about, don't you, Corey?
- 1:06:08Speaker 6: When I say that, I actually no, I don't. I've
- 1:06:11Speaker 6: heard of the film and I know who's who's in it.
- 1:06:14Speaker 2: Okay, Yeah, there is a code that they would use
- 1:06:17Speaker 2: on the phone to let them know to go buy
- 1:06:21Speaker 2: a particular stock in the The code was blue Horseshoe
- 1:06:25Speaker 2: loves Ana Coott Steel. So yeah, I've always wanted to
- 1:06:27Speaker 2: name something blue horse Shoe and name something else Ana
- 1:06:31Speaker 2: Coott Steel. But anyway, well, great job today, Corey. Always
- 1:06:34Speaker 2: having fun. Listen to you talk about all these different
- 1:06:38Speaker 2: movies that most of them I haven't watched.
- 1:06:41Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:06:41Speaker 6: I did a lot of them that were hero films
- 1:06:44Speaker 6: and cartoons.
- 1:06:46Speaker 4: I know you're, you know, big fans of either.
- 1:06:47Speaker 2: Of those, so it's okay, but that but y'all are,
- 1:06:50Speaker 2: and that's what matters. So it doesn't matter to me.
- 1:06:53Speaker 2: But are you happy about the Knicks winning?
- 1:06:57Speaker 6: I'm happy about Cat winning. I'm not really big fans
- 1:07:00Speaker 6: the next per se, but but with the next winning,
- 1:07:03Speaker 6: and that means that Fox and Johnson lost, So yeah,
- 1:07:08Speaker 6: you know, but I mean, I'm I'm happy for Katka.
- 1:07:12Speaker 1: I am too.
- 1:07:13Speaker 2: It's been fun watching them go do all these different
- 1:07:15Speaker 2: interviews as well, hasn't it.
- 1:07:17Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:07:17Speaker 6: I mean Cat probably should want a title at UK,
- 1:07:21Speaker 6: so I'm glad he's he's finely got one.
- 1:07:23Speaker 1: Yeah, exactly.
- 1:07:24Speaker 2: So all right, Corey Price, anything in the works for
- 1:07:27Speaker 2: you the next week? I mean, I see I still
- 1:07:31Speaker 2: see you posting uh Alice Blue Gollon videos. You're going
- 1:07:36Speaker 2: to go see them in concert? I guess again whatever
- 1:07:40Speaker 2: random bar Shannon's playing it.
- 1:07:42Speaker 6: Yeah, they're playing June twenty sixth and Lexington, so I'll
- 1:07:45Speaker 6: probably I'll probably be I'll probably be there. I probably
- 1:07:49Speaker 6: the last probably last three or four years. I can
- 1:07:52Speaker 6: probably count one hand how many times I've I've missed
- 1:07:56Speaker 6: one of the shows.
- 1:07:57Speaker 1: Are you kidding me? Okay?
- 1:07:59Speaker 6: Because I mean, they they they always play so close
- 1:08:02Speaker 6: that I mean, they don't go like far. I mean
- 1:08:05Speaker 6: they don't tour. I mean they're always in this area,
- 1:08:08Speaker 6: so I mean it's not hard to get down.
- 1:08:10Speaker 2: I need to go see him play again. Yeah, exactly
- 1:08:14Speaker 2: that as well. So all right, Corey, Well, I hope
- 1:08:16Speaker 2: you have a great week and we'll see you next Tuesday.
- 1:08:18Speaker 2: All right, well, I see you next Tuesday. Yes, you
- 1:08:21Speaker 2: will see me next Tuesday. Wait, I'll be right there.
- 1:08:24Speaker 2: So all right, by Corey Price. Right there, we're gonna
- 1:08:26Speaker 2: take a break five O two three four fourteen to
- 1:08:29Speaker 2: fifty five O two uh uh four one four fourteen
- 1:08:32Speaker 2: fifty you wanted text in.
- 1:08:33Speaker 1: We'll get to those text as soon as we get back.
- 1:08:35Speaker 2: And uh gotta talk about this possible uh additional player
- 1:08:40Speaker 2: maybe come the UK basketball Plus Will Stein had something
- 1:08:45Speaker 2: on yesterday and Michael Bennett's pretty happy about stay right there.
- 1:08:49Speaker 2: More just Scott's coming right up. We'll get to a
- 1:09:18Speaker 2: couple of text messages here. I've done pretty good. I
- 1:09:22Speaker 2: know I muted myself there. I just want to make
- 1:09:24Speaker 2: sure I don't say anything on air that I shouldn't
- 1:09:26Speaker 2: be saying, but which I could be guilty of. I
- 1:09:30Speaker 2: haven't done it, thank goodness, in a long time. But
- 1:09:33Speaker 2: one person texted in the University of South Florida is
- 1:09:36Speaker 2: technically not in the southern part of Florida.
- 1:09:39Speaker 1: You're exactly correct.
- 1:09:40Speaker 2: It's based in Tampa, and that's not South Florida. All right,
- 1:09:44Speaker 2: we can talk about Western Kentucky University. Are they in
- 1:09:47Speaker 2: the western part of Kentucky? I guess to me they're not.
- 1:09:54Speaker 2: I western part of Kentucky is more like Murray State.
- 1:09:58Speaker 2: Do you can you think you consider Bowling Green in
- 1:10:01Speaker 2: the western part of.
- 1:10:02Speaker 1: The state.
- 1:10:04Speaker 2: Like more western than here. I guess, all right, that's fair.
- 1:10:08Speaker 2: Eastern Kentucky University in Richmond. Do you think that is
- 1:10:11Speaker 2: in eastern Kentucky. I mean, I sure don't.
- 1:10:15Speaker 3: But I feel like Eastern Kentucky is a lot larger
- 1:10:18Speaker 3: of an area. Like Eastern Kentucky is almost like a
- 1:10:21Speaker 3: complete like geographical change for the rest of Kentucky. So like,
- 1:10:24Speaker 3: I'll give that one some slack that it's probably like it's.
- 1:10:27Speaker 5: Not really it's not like super super.
- 1:10:29Speaker 3: East, but eastern Kentucky is like I feel like Richmond's
- 1:10:33Speaker 3: kind of like the border, like that's where eastern Kentucky starts.
- 1:10:35Speaker 2: So you would say Lexington is in eastern Kentucky because
- 1:10:39Speaker 2: it's only twenty five miles away from Richmond, and Richmond
- 1:10:42Speaker 2: is directly south of Lexington.
- 1:10:45Speaker 3: I ain't close. I wouldn't really, I wouldn't consider it
- 1:10:47Speaker 3: Eastern Kentucky. No, but it's close.
- 1:10:49Speaker 2: Yeah, okay, fair enough. Karl Anthony Towns was interviewed on
- 1:10:53Speaker 2: Howard stertin This Morning.
- 1:10:56Speaker 5: I didn't know that.
- 1:10:57Speaker 1: What what's that?
- 1:10:58Speaker 5: People still listen to Howard Stern?
- 1:11:00Speaker 2: I didn't know you were still alive? But yeah, evidently
- 1:11:03Speaker 2: people still. Well that's the other problem yours truly does.
- 1:11:09Speaker 2: But I will say this about Howard Stern. I was
- 1:11:13Speaker 2: never a really big fan of his, but when he
- 1:11:16Speaker 2: interviews people, I think he's one of the best best
- 1:11:20Speaker 2: interviewers out there. I think he does a phenomenal job
- 1:11:23Speaker 2: at interviewing people. I'll always tune in when he's interviewing
- 1:11:27Speaker 2: some famous singer or rock star, and I think he
- 1:11:31Speaker 2: does a phenomenal job, and I enjoy those interviews. So yeah,
- 1:11:35Speaker 2: I'll listen to him. Kentucky's schedule is harder than Louisville's.
- 1:11:41Speaker 2: What is Matt talking about our schedule? I said that
- 1:11:43Speaker 2: one before, didn't Sorry about that? Yeah, sorry about that.
- 1:11:47Speaker 2: I'm getting I'm getting away from all this stuff, and
- 1:11:51Speaker 2: halfaway is a traffic attractive But she's no Natalie Portman.
- 1:11:57Speaker 3: This is this is tough for me. Natalie was the
- 1:12:00Speaker 3: literal first actress I ever saw with my own eyes.
- 1:12:04Speaker 3: She is a beautiful, beautiful woman. But Anne Hathaway is
- 1:12:07Speaker 3: something different. As much as I love Natalie Portman, I'm
- 1:12:10Speaker 3: gonna have to say I like Anne Hathway little Warre.
- 1:12:12Speaker 2: Do you really? I just and Hathaway's cute. She just
- 1:12:16Speaker 2: has a look that reminds me of a flamingo. I
- 1:12:19Speaker 2: don't know why. It just you heard me, I just
- 1:12:22Speaker 2: kinda I don't know, Michael, you don't want to be
- 1:12:26Speaker 2: in Louisville right now. Whoever decided to do construction on
- 1:12:29Speaker 2: Poplar Level and Preston Highway while sixty five is shut
- 1:12:32Speaker 2: down should be made to swim with the polar bears
- 1:12:36Speaker 2: at the zoo.
- 1:12:38Speaker 1: I didn't know that was going on.
- 1:12:39Speaker 2: You mean to tell me With I sixty five shut down,
- 1:12:44Speaker 2: they have construction going on Poplar Level and Preston.
- 1:12:48Speaker 1: Matthew, this is really.
- 1:12:50Speaker 2: I don't know who's making all these because you got
- 1:12:53Speaker 2: the whole I seventy one and Brownsboro Road and Waterston
- 1:12:56Speaker 2: Expressway going on. Whoever decided to do all of this
- 1:13:00Speaker 2: at one time should be swimming with polar bears.
- 1:13:04Speaker 3: This is the thing about Louisville that I just cannot
- 1:13:06Speaker 3: stand is the I guess the litigation of Louisville.
- 1:13:13Speaker 5: Like the higher ups of Louisville.
- 1:13:15Speaker 3: Yes, DMUs is like a major city and like a
- 1:13:17Speaker 3: huge city, so they just they just put all this.
- 1:13:20Speaker 3: We do enough construction to fix all of Manhattan at
- 1:13:24Speaker 3: the same time down here. Yeah, but we all I
- 1:13:26Speaker 3: can get to one side of the city at about
- 1:13:28Speaker 3: fifteen minutes on A sixty five. This is every summer.
- 1:13:31Speaker 3: We act like it's always new. This is literally every
- 1:13:34Speaker 3: single summer. It's just blowing up now because I sixty
- 1:13:37Speaker 3: five is shut down. They do this all the time.
- 1:13:39Speaker 3: Every single road is shut down during the summertime. It's horrible.
- 1:13:42Speaker 3: I don't understand how hard it is to manage these
- 1:13:45Speaker 3: projects out here.
- 1:13:47Speaker 5: It sucks. I can't stand. It's terrible.
- 1:13:50Speaker 1: Uh yeah, see, I'm right there with you.
- 1:13:52Speaker 2: I was asking some friends of mine over the weekend,
- 1:13:55Speaker 2: do you like that I guess it's the state that
- 1:14:00Speaker 2: decided to do this I sixty five. Do you like
- 1:14:03Speaker 2: that they're doing the construction and shutting I sixty five
- 1:14:07Speaker 2: down for two months? Or would you have preferred them
- 1:14:11Speaker 2: to do it over time? Do it over top?
- 1:14:14Speaker 1: You would.
- 1:14:15Speaker 2: I liked that they did it all at once. Just
- 1:14:17Speaker 2: get it over with, just rip the scab off, the
- 1:14:20Speaker 2: old sore and then let it just.
- 1:14:24Speaker 1: Heal quickly.
- 1:14:26Speaker 2: I mean, it's just but it's easy for me to say.
- 1:14:30Speaker 2: I mean, well, you got I seventy one shut down. Well,
- 1:14:34Speaker 2: a lot of construction going towards downtown everywhere there, You're
- 1:14:37Speaker 2: right there, everywhere, there's construction right now. But back to
- 1:14:41Speaker 2: school is a classic Michael hit the Triple Indy while
- 1:14:44Speaker 2: down in Florida.
- 1:14:47Speaker 1: You don't know what the Triple Indy is? Do you
- 1:14:49Speaker 1: know what's that?
- 1:14:50Speaker 2: Okay, it's just a dive that Rodney Dangerfield supposedly did
- 1:14:54Speaker 2: a cony Allen. So anyway, I just I you gotta
- 1:14:59Speaker 2: go watch some of the these movies. Uh uh, Jamie said,
- 1:15:03Speaker 2: went to see The Devil Where's Product two on Saturday
- 1:15:06Speaker 2: and Cat made an appearance. Also love Anne Hathaway. There's
- 1:15:10Speaker 2: another love for Anne Hathaway.
- 1:15:12Speaker 5: I did see that.
- 1:15:13Speaker 1: I didn't know.
- 1:15:15Speaker 5: Huh, I did see that. He's in that movie.
- 1:15:17Speaker 1: Why is he in that movie?
- 1:15:19Speaker 3: It's the same reason that you know what we're like,
- 1:15:21Speaker 3: Oh my gosh, sorry, knuck up on me. Remember like
- 1:15:24Speaker 3: a couple of years. Gosh, maybe like five or six
- 1:15:26Speaker 3: years ago there was a stipe Like every movie had
- 1:15:29Speaker 3: a professional athlete in it, like Lebron James in a
- 1:15:31Speaker 3: couple of movies, Johnsena was in a couple of movies. Yeah,
- 1:15:34Speaker 3: I think it's the same thing. I think he's like
- 1:15:36Speaker 3: a cameo in it for some reason. I don't seen
- 1:15:38Speaker 3: the movie, so that could be completely wrong, but I
- 1:15:40Speaker 3: did seeps of him minute.
- 1:15:41Speaker 2: But the young ladies or ladies out there that are
- 1:15:44Speaker 2: going to watch the Devil Worlds produg how what percentage
- 1:15:47Speaker 2: do you think they know who he even is?
- 1:15:50Speaker 5: I mean they might not know who he is at all.
- 1:15:53Speaker 2: See exactly, so they're not gonna know who Cat is.
- 1:15:56Speaker 2: But I'm glad Jamie you like.
- 1:16:01Speaker 4: And Hathaway.
- 1:16:02Speaker 2: I did you saw that movie?
- 1:16:05Speaker 1: Right? Devils Proud of too?
- 1:16:07Speaker 5: I've not seen it.
- 1:16:09Speaker 1: Did you see the first one? No? Good, don't waste
- 1:16:12Speaker 1: your time? Ever seen horrible, horrible movie. Uh?
- 1:16:17Speaker 2: Do you think Rick Petina will get invited to Travis
- 1:16:19Speaker 2: Kelsey's wedding at Madison Square Garden. That's a great question,
- 1:16:25Speaker 2: Ohio guy. I liked that question.
- 1:16:27Speaker 5: First off, Mass Square Garden. You're getting married at Madison Garden.
- 1:16:32Speaker 2: Evidently, well because that's you know, you know who he's marrying,
- 1:16:35Speaker 2: that singer.
- 1:16:37Speaker 5: But uh, but like there's no better venue than Madison.
- 1:16:41Speaker 2: Are they really well, are they really getting married at
- 1:16:44Speaker 2: Madison Square Garden? Or is this just somebody putting me on?
- 1:16:47Speaker 3: Like are we trying to say that in New York
- 1:16:50Speaker 3: City the best wedding venue that Taylor Swift a billionaire
- 1:16:53Speaker 3: to come up with with Madison Square Garden?
- 1:16:56Speaker 1: Is she a billionaire?
- 1:16:56Speaker 5: Yeah, she's a billionaire?
- 1:16:58Speaker 1: Is she really?
- 1:16:59Speaker 5: Yeah?
- 1:17:00Speaker 1: Congratulations?
- 1:17:01Speaker 2: By the way, Elon Musk, last week, of course we
- 1:17:06Speaker 2: all know SpaceX went to publicly traded on Wall Street
- 1:17:15Speaker 2: and right now it sits the value of it is
- 1:17:18Speaker 2: one hundred and ninety two dollars per share and fifty cents.
- 1:17:21Speaker 2: I haven't looked it up today. This was yesterday last night,
- 1:17:24Speaker 2: that's where it was trading at.
- 1:17:26Speaker 1: But now that.
- 1:17:29Speaker 2: Makes Elon Musk the first trillionaire.
- 1:17:38Speaker 3: How do you?
- 1:17:39Speaker 2: How do you fell? Okay? Okay, today it's at two
- 1:17:42Speaker 2: hundred and seven. It's now just moved two hundred and
- 1:17:46Speaker 2: eight dollars a share. He's going to be what's next
- 1:17:51Speaker 2: after trillionaire? Quadrupuleon I don't know how you huh, quadrillionaire? Quadrillionaire?
- 1:17:58Speaker 2: Is he on his way to be coming to brillionaire.
- 1:18:01Speaker 5: I don't think that will ever be possible.
- 1:18:03Speaker 1: I think it will be I mean it back and forth.
- 1:18:07Speaker 1: Maybe not, but you never know.
- 1:18:09Speaker 2: Are you jealous of Elon Musk for having a trillion dollars?
- 1:18:14Speaker 3: I mean, I'm jealous of somebody having one hundred dollars,
- 1:18:17Speaker 3: So I.
- 1:18:17Speaker 2: Mean, oh, come on, I listen. I'm happy for him.
- 1:18:21Speaker 2: I think it's fascinating. The guy is eccentric, but I mean,
- 1:18:27Speaker 2: I don't have a problem with it. I mean, I'm
- 1:18:29Speaker 2: glad that we can live in a world today that
- 1:18:32Speaker 2: people can make whatever kind of money they want to make,
- 1:18:35Speaker 2: as long as they get out there and work hard.
- 1:18:38Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:18:38Speaker 3: I mean, I don't really have any opinion on if
- 1:18:40Speaker 3: the dude's a trillion air Congrats to him, really, I like,
- 1:18:43Speaker 3: I really just I don't. I've seen people on social
- 1:18:47Speaker 3: media losing their minds over it. Some people are saying, like,
- 1:18:50Speaker 3: nobody should ever have that amount of money, nobody should
- 1:18:52Speaker 3: this and that. I get the opinions on it. This
- 1:18:56Speaker 3: is one of those moments where like, this is such
- 1:18:58Speaker 3: a small piece of news to me is I literally
- 1:19:03Speaker 3: do not care, like.
- 1:19:04Speaker 1: I am fascinating.
- 1:19:05Speaker 3: I understand like that, there is no like I get that.
- 1:19:07Speaker 3: If you're one of those people that's like, no human
- 1:19:09Speaker 3: being needs a billion dollars, no human being needs a
- 1:19:12Speaker 3: bit like a trillion, Like I get all those takes.
- 1:19:14Speaker 5: I completely understand.
- 1:19:15Speaker 2: Why do you get that because I don't because why
- 1:19:18Speaker 2: should I have that kind of amount of money?
- 1:19:21Speaker 3: Because I get the point that nobody's ever gonna be
- 1:19:23Speaker 3: able to physically spend that, nobody's gonna be able to
- 1:19:27Speaker 3: do anything with it, right, Like, there is a threshold
- 1:19:29Speaker 3: of money that no matter how luxurious you live, no
- 1:19:33Speaker 3: matter how you know fluently you live your life, you're
- 1:19:37Speaker 3: you're never gonna be able to burn that money. You're
- 1:19:39Speaker 3: never gonna be able to do anything. So you're int
- 1:19:41Speaker 3: a threshold where it's like, Okay, you don't need that much.
- 1:19:43Speaker 3: But at the same time, I'm also not one of
- 1:19:45Speaker 3: those people that's like he needs to give twenty five
- 1:19:48Speaker 3: percent of his wealth away to this and that I
- 1:19:50Speaker 3: don't care what you do with your money.
- 1:19:51Speaker 5: Do whatever you want.
- 1:19:51Speaker 3: If you're a trillionaire, great, if you make twenty dollars
- 1:19:54Speaker 3: an hour great. I really don't care. So like when
- 1:19:57Speaker 3: I see stuff like this come out in the news
- 1:19:59Speaker 3: and then people start losing their minds over and I'm like, dude,
- 1:20:01Speaker 3: we need some of us need to get lives. Some
- 1:20:03Speaker 3: of us need to stop the pocket watching other people
- 1:20:05Speaker 3: and just worry about ourselves. See.
- 1:20:07Speaker 2: I don't understand the people that say nobody deserves to
- 1:20:10Speaker 2: have that amount of money.
- 1:20:11Speaker 1: Well, yeah he does. He worked for it, he earned it.
- 1:20:14Speaker 1: He did.
- 1:20:14Speaker 2: He was lucky enough to develop some things that earned
- 1:20:18Speaker 2: him that kind of money. I would never say no,
- 1:20:21Speaker 2: one deserves that kind of money.
- 1:20:22Speaker 1: I think that. I think they do. To me. Somebody
- 1:20:25Speaker 1: had says something like that just means they're.
- 1:20:28Speaker 2: Jealous in wish they were in theirs mus because I
- 1:20:30Speaker 2: bet if the table was completely turned.
- 1:20:33Speaker 1: Oh I deserve this money. I earned it. I worked
- 1:20:36Speaker 1: for it. Of course you did, and you earned it.
- 1:20:39Speaker 1: You deserve it.
- 1:20:40Speaker 2: I just I don't know. That's one of those things
- 1:20:43Speaker 2: that alreays irritates me. Mark Pope is looking at possibly
- 1:20:47Speaker 2: adding an international player. Uh and there is a name
- 1:20:51Speaker 2: that has come up. He's a Serbian wing player named Nicola.
- 1:20:56Speaker 2: Here we go, Cus Costa Rica. It almost looks like
- 1:21:03Speaker 2: Costa Rica.
- 1:21:04Speaker 5: I'm sure he's not just visiting Costa Rica and people
- 1:21:06Speaker 5: are confused.
- 1:21:07Speaker 1: But maybe that's it.
- 1:21:08Speaker 2: Maybe he's he's gone from Serbia to Costa Rican and
- 1:21:12Speaker 2: he just adapted the name. I'm going to be Costa
- 1:21:14Speaker 2: Rica who's also considering Gonzaga and UCLA. He's six foot
- 1:21:18Speaker 2: eight and is only seventeen years old and clearly not
- 1:21:23Speaker 2: eligible for the NBA draft. I listen, if Mark Pope
- 1:21:28Speaker 2: can add another player, I say, get him. I don't
- 1:21:31Speaker 2: know if he's any good or not, but it seems
- 1:21:33Speaker 2: like he He's got some definite, definite qualities that UK
- 1:21:38Speaker 2: could probably use within the next couple of years.
- 1:21:41Speaker 1: But he's not going to be an impact player right away.
- 1:21:43Speaker 1: But you never know.
- 1:21:44Speaker 2: What do you think about him possibly bringing on this player?
- 1:21:47Speaker 3: I mean, I have no idea about this. I don't
- 1:21:49Speaker 3: even know who this guy is, So I mean, maybe
- 1:21:52Speaker 3: he's a great grab for Mark Pope. Maybe he's a
- 1:21:54Speaker 3: complete waste of time. But I literally haven't even heard
- 1:21:58Speaker 3: of this name until you brought it up. So I
- 1:22:00Speaker 3: guess contracts to Mark Pope for having a chance to
- 1:22:03Speaker 3: build the roster more, I guess is the best I
- 1:22:04Speaker 3: can say, Yeah, Yeah, hopefully it's not multivacation if people
- 1:22:08Speaker 3: are confused.
- 1:22:09Speaker 2: Yeah, ever since I brought up the stock for a
- 1:22:11Speaker 2: Space SpaceX, it's just gone up and down, up and
- 1:22:15Speaker 2: down continually.
- 1:22:16Speaker 1: It is kind of fun to watch.
- 1:22:17Speaker 2: But man, lots of people are saying it's gonna bust,
- 1:22:21Speaker 2: but it just continues to go.
- 1:22:22Speaker 1: Up and up.
- 1:22:22Speaker 2: You know, people are in line trying to and stock
- 1:22:26Speaker 2: market financial institutions were saying you had to have so
- 1:22:29Speaker 2: much money to be allowed to buy just a single share.
- 1:22:33Speaker 2: You had to have so much money in their account
- 1:22:36Speaker 2: with their institution before you could even buy it. It's
- 1:22:39Speaker 2: it was crazy. But all right, we're gonna take our
- 1:22:42Speaker 2: last break. When we come back, I want to talk
- 1:22:44Speaker 2: about Tom is Oh losing it and uh, what's going
- 1:22:47Speaker 2: on in the Big twelve in Texas tech World.
- 1:22:49Speaker 1: Are we relieved?
- 1:22:51Speaker 2: We'll stay right there after these commercials one, we'll see
- 1:22:55Speaker 2: you then alright on our last segment on this Tuesday.
- 1:23:25Speaker 2: I don't know if you saw this stat or not, Matthew,
- 1:23:29Speaker 2: but did you see the stat where the Spurs led
- 1:23:32Speaker 2: for seventy two percent of the NBA Finals only to
- 1:23:37Speaker 2: lose the championship in five games?
- 1:23:41Speaker 5: Yes, I did see that.
- 1:23:42Speaker 2: That's a crazy stat and that's just got to just
- 1:23:47Speaker 2: kill those players in the coaching staff that how can
- 1:23:51Speaker 2: you lead for that much of the finals only to
- 1:23:56Speaker 2: lose it in five games on top of it all,
- 1:23:58Speaker 2: that's just crazy.
- 1:24:00Speaker 3: I mean it's just inexperienced by the players, then experienced
- 1:24:03Speaker 3: by the coaching.
- 1:24:03Speaker 5: I mean, it's just.
- 1:24:06Speaker 4: It's bad.
- 1:24:07Speaker 5: It's really bad.
- 1:24:08Speaker 1: It is bad.
- 1:24:10Speaker 2: UK assistant basketball coach Michaale McLean was interviewed and he
- 1:24:15Speaker 2: said during the summer practices so far, which have just started,
- 1:24:19Speaker 2: that one player is really shining right now, and it
- 1:24:24Speaker 2: happens to be Zoom Diallo, the Washington Husky transfer guard.
- 1:24:30Speaker 2: And of course that's what you want to hear out
- 1:24:32Speaker 2: of your point guard. I mean, could this be the
- 1:24:37Speaker 2: point guard Big Blue Nation is waiting for. I mean,
- 1:24:40Speaker 2: we've been waiting for something, and just right now, I
- 1:24:44Speaker 2: just assume bubble wrap the guy and not play him
- 1:24:47Speaker 2: anymore till the start of the season. Right there, But
- 1:24:52Speaker 2: one person said UK has a much stronger schedule than.
- 1:24:56Speaker 1: U of L.
- 1:24:57Speaker 5: You've read this one like four times.
- 1:25:00Speaker 1: To read it again.
- 1:25:01Speaker 2: You know the funny part it's coming from three different people.
- 1:25:04Speaker 2: That's the wild part. Uh of course it does no
- 1:25:08Speaker 2: offense to u of L. The ACC is not quite
- 1:25:10Speaker 2: the schedule it had, the the the conference that it
- 1:25:14Speaker 2: once was.
- 1:25:15Speaker 1: Is that fair to say, yeah? Yeah.
- 1:25:18Speaker 3: But on the other end of it, I mean the
- 1:25:20Speaker 3: SEC was literally terrible for like fifty consecutive years. Yeah
- 1:25:24Speaker 3: it was, and now like the last you know, I
- 1:25:27Speaker 3: give like six to eight years. Yeah, he's really good.
- 1:25:29Speaker 3: Like stuff like that happens.
- 1:25:30Speaker 2: Boy, it was wild to see uh Iran playing in
- 1:25:35Speaker 2: the World Cup.
- 1:25:36Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:25:36Speaker 2: Here we were at war with them and there, well, okay, good,
- 1:25:41Speaker 2: we paid them off yesterday.
- 1:25:43Speaker 1: Oh we did. Okay.
- 1:25:44Speaker 2: So they played at Sofi Stadium and it was was
- 1:25:48Speaker 2: it nearly sold out or sold out?
- 1:25:50Speaker 1: It was it was in Los Angeles.
- 1:25:51Speaker 3: I think it was about technicality sold out, but somebody
- 1:25:55Speaker 3: who was at the game said that it was like ninety.
- 1:25:59Speaker 2: Okay, I'd say that's pretty close to being sold out.
- 1:26:02Speaker 1: I mean that was wild to see.
- 1:26:04Speaker 3: Which is crazy because, like you said, it's Iran versus
- 1:26:06Speaker 3: New Zealand. You know, a country that's like basically the
- 1:26:10Speaker 3: size of like a US state and they're over here
- 1:26:13Speaker 3: in America selling out a Sofi stadium.
- 1:26:16Speaker 2: Tom Izzo lost it as miss as he was being interviewed, saying,
- 1:26:22Speaker 2: you know, Michigan State has lost their president of the
- 1:26:25Speaker 2: university and now they've lost their ad their athletic direction.
- 1:26:29Speaker 2: Of course, you know it's Jay Bett that's come to UK.
- 1:26:32Speaker 2: He said, I can't stand what's going on. I've had it.
- 1:26:36Speaker 2: This is self conflicted. I'm very upset about it. I'm
- 1:26:40Speaker 2: sick of it.
- 1:26:41Speaker 5: Tom Izzo is just on his John Caliperry train right now.
- 1:26:44Speaker 1: Like he just is what it is.
- 1:26:46Speaker 3: He is literally just an old man that just complains.
- 1:26:49Speaker 3: Like he looks out his screen door in the morning
- 1:26:51Speaker 3: and complains that kids are playing out in front of
- 1:26:53Speaker 3: his house, and like he he's angry because kids have
- 1:26:56Speaker 3: it too good these days. I remember when he used
- 1:26:58Speaker 3: to have to work in the summertime. That's Tom Mizzough
- 1:27:01Speaker 3: is is just I really don't like that dude anymore.
- 1:27:05Speaker 5: All he does. All he does is complain's I'm sorry
- 1:27:08Speaker 5: to hear that.
- 1:27:08Speaker 3: I feel like I used to love Tom Mizzo growing
- 1:27:10Speaker 3: up the legendary basketball coaches. I just feel like I
- 1:27:14Speaker 3: do not see an interview with this man where he
- 1:27:16Speaker 3: is not complaining anymore. It's like man like either get
- 1:27:20Speaker 3: with the times or move on. It's the same thing
- 1:27:22Speaker 3: with John Caliperry. It's just it's just like it was
- 1:27:24Speaker 3: a funny little bit for a little while, Like you
- 1:27:27Speaker 3: would get excited for John Calla Perry to do postgame
- 1:27:29Speaker 3: interviews because you knew he was gonna say something off
- 1:27:31Speaker 3: the wall. Now it's just like, dude, I can tell
- 1:27:33Speaker 3: you're just doing this for attention. Like, let's just move on.
- 1:27:36Speaker 3: Can you like, either do your job or retire, move on.
- 1:27:40Speaker 2: Yeah, but let's be honest though, Uh, there is something
- 1:27:43Speaker 2: going on up there at Michigan State up in Lansing, Michigan,
- 1:27:47Speaker 2: with the with the president of the university leaving and
- 1:27:51Speaker 2: your athletic director gone, something clearly is going on. And
- 1:27:57Speaker 2: uh and for him to say it's self inflicting, I
- 1:28:00Speaker 2: kind of agree, wouldn't you? And I think that's worthy
- 1:28:03Speaker 2: of getting out there in front of the media and
- 1:28:05Speaker 2: complaining about this.
- 1:28:07Speaker 5: I don't.
- 1:28:07Speaker 3: I don't necessarily disagree. I'm just making the point that
- 1:28:10Speaker 3: I feel like the only time I ever hear of
- 1:28:12Speaker 3: tom Izzo is him complaining about something.
- 1:28:14Speaker 2: Well, you know that might that probably is true as well. Yeah,
- 1:28:17Speaker 2: well anytime, but that's pretty much true of any coach
- 1:28:20Speaker 2: out there, isn't it. Anytime you really hear one's it's
- 1:28:24Speaker 2: because they're complaining about something. Anytime you hear about John Caliperry,
- 1:28:28Speaker 2: it's him complaining about the nil, the current status is
- 1:28:32Speaker 2: college basketball.
- 1:28:33Speaker 3: It's any of those things. You hear him complaining about it.
- 1:28:36Speaker 3: I feel like I don't really hear that out of
- 1:28:37Speaker 3: Rock katinav a lot. I'll just be seeing videos of
- 1:28:39Speaker 3: Rick Matino talking to old fans and reconnecting with people,
- 1:28:43Speaker 3: basically saying like this is just a state of basketball.
- 1:28:46Speaker 3: I'm gonna do my job here and blah blah blah.
- 1:28:49Speaker 3: It's like, dude, I completely understand if you don't like
- 1:28:51Speaker 3: what's going on. I don't think a lot of people
- 1:28:53Speaker 3: like what's going on. But if you're gonna work in it,
- 1:28:56Speaker 3: if you're gonna be a part of the system, we
- 1:28:59Speaker 3: just have to adapt and get over it.
- 1:29:00Speaker 1: At some point.
- 1:29:01Speaker 5: Complaining about it is just not going to do anything anymore.
- 1:29:04Speaker 2: Ohio guy said, is it was more Mick Cronin than CALIPERI.
- 1:29:09Speaker 2: I might I might agree with that wholeheartedly.
- 1:29:11Speaker 1: Right there.
- 1:29:12Speaker 3: That's actually disrespectful to mc cronan. Mc corona is hilarious.
- 1:29:15Speaker 3: That dude says whatever he wants. He doesn't even complain,
- 1:29:20Speaker 3: He just says everything off the wall. He says exactly
- 1:29:22Speaker 3: what's on his mind with no filter.
- 1:29:24Speaker 1: I love Mickona.
- 1:29:26Speaker 2: One person said, Michael, when Matt Jones asked Jay Batt
- 1:29:31Speaker 2: about Mark Pope, did you notice his hesitancy and his answer,
- 1:29:37Speaker 2: or maybe I'm reading too much into mister BET's tone
- 1:29:40Speaker 2: of voice and fluctuation. I didn't listen to the interview,
- 1:29:43Speaker 2: but now I'm curious, so yes, I will go back.
- 1:29:47Speaker 2: But it could be just a coincidence. I mean, you
- 1:29:50Speaker 2: never know what's going on in the mind of that person.
- 1:29:53Speaker 2: He's probably how do I answer this question? I know
- 1:29:56Speaker 2: I need to be careful because people are questioning a lot.
- 1:29:59Speaker 2: I want to make sure I answer this the right way.
- 1:30:01Speaker 2: I don't know if I'd necessarily read too much into it.
- 1:30:04Speaker 2: But on the other hand, now I'm curious and I
- 1:30:07Speaker 2: might have to go back and listen to this interview,
- 1:30:09Speaker 2: so I probably will. But yeah, Matt Jones had h
- 1:30:12Speaker 2: Jay Batt, and good for him for having him on
- 1:30:15Speaker 2: right away like that. So that's that's where I'm a
- 1:30:18Speaker 2: little envious of Matt getting the interviews right away when
- 1:30:21Speaker 2: he does, and that's okay. He's he had that success
- 1:30:25Speaker 2: with his radio show and and good for him. So
- 1:30:29Speaker 2: now Big twelve was all set to file a league
- 1:30:34Speaker 2: a complaint in federal court against Texas Tech UH and
- 1:30:38Speaker 2: the Texas Attorney General seeking a declaration judgment and a
- 1:30:44Speaker 2: preliminary injunction to enforce its bylaws and potentially sanctioned the
- 1:30:50Speaker 2: school for its plan to play Brendan Soresby. Was this
- 1:30:55Speaker 2: the demise of Brendan Soresby saying Okay, I won't play. Yes,
- 1:31:02Speaker 2: it was, And isn't it sad that they had to
- 1:31:06Speaker 2: go to this kind of action. Schools are not listening
- 1:31:09Speaker 2: to their conferences or the NCAA or anything. And you're
- 1:31:12Speaker 2: irritated with me because I'm bringing this up, aren't you.
- 1:31:16Speaker 1: No, it's exhausting.
- 1:31:18Speaker 3: I will I will say I'm glad it's over, because
- 1:31:20Speaker 3: you know, yes, I think it was yesterday they finally
- 1:31:22Speaker 3: announced that he's literally just parting ways of Texas Tech.
- 1:31:25Speaker 3: It was funny that the memes I saw, if it
- 1:31:27Speaker 3: were hilarious. Every single UFL team was like, come on,
- 1:31:30Speaker 3: King's new quarterback, Brendan Soresby, come to Louisville come to
- 1:31:34Speaker 3: a championship program.
- 1:31:36Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah, it was funny, like I.
- 1:31:40Speaker 3: Make it does make me happy that like the NCAA
- 1:31:43Speaker 3: did something, like something happened and it worked out, like yeah,
- 1:31:46Speaker 3: you twelve did this, but the idea of the actual
- 1:31:52Speaker 3: college football one in this situation like this dude was
- 1:31:55Speaker 3: literally doing things illegal to the rules. He was trying
- 1:31:58Speaker 3: to extend his eligible when not possible. Then you get
- 1:32:01Speaker 3: caught with the gambling stuff. He blames it on mental health.
- 1:32:04Speaker 3: He blames it on all these things, and then eventually
- 1:32:06Speaker 3: it's just like, Okay, we've run out of excuses.
- 1:32:08Speaker 5: You're just not blaming anymore. So yeah, I'm glad it's over.
- 1:32:12Speaker 2: Do you know Landon Donovan, the one of the World
- 1:32:16Speaker 2: Cup announcments. Okay, did you see his rant on social media?
- 1:32:19Speaker 5: I did not.
- 1:32:21Speaker 2: He evidently United Airlines he was flying them. He said,
- 1:32:25Speaker 2: I've been flying United since I was sixteen years old,
- 1:32:27Speaker 2: and I've got millions of miles on them, and evidently
- 1:32:32Speaker 2: they were having some issues. He had to be rerouted
- 1:32:35Speaker 2: go to another city and then by the time they
- 1:32:38Speaker 2: were getting ready to take off at three am in
- 1:32:43Speaker 2: the morning, the pilot clocked out. And had to return
- 1:32:47Speaker 2: and United would not give them hotel stays or anything,
- 1:32:52Speaker 2: and so Landon Donovan went off on a unbelievable rant
- 1:32:59Speaker 2: against United Airlines, and then United Airlines responded back to them,
- 1:33:04Speaker 2: can we talk about this privately and not publicly, And
- 1:33:07Speaker 2: then that he went off on another complete rant saying, no,
- 1:33:10Speaker 2: we need to be transparent, this needs to be known.
- 1:33:13Speaker 2: It's just it's like, oh my gosh, it was just
- 1:33:15Speaker 2: an epic rant that I kind of enjoyed, quite honestly,
- 1:33:19Speaker 2: because I've been there as well where things have happening
- 1:33:23Speaker 2: with airlines. But that was something else to see that.
- 1:33:25Speaker 2: I don't know if you saw it or not, but
- 1:33:27Speaker 2: I enjoyed it.
- 1:33:28Speaker 5: No, I did not see that.
- 1:33:29Speaker 3: I've heard I'm not someone who flies a lot, but
- 1:33:32Speaker 3: I've heard nothing but negative things about UNI Airlines.
- 1:33:35Speaker 1: Oh. I like United.
- 1:33:36Speaker 2: No, I've never had any issues with I think it's
- 1:33:38Speaker 2: a nice airline. Listen, everybody has problems with airlines. It
- 1:33:42Speaker 2: doesn't matter which one it is. We've all had an issue.
- 1:33:45Speaker 2: I've had an issue with American Airlines. I've had an
- 1:33:47Speaker 2: issue with Delta. But you know what, I'm going to
- 1:33:50Speaker 2: continue to find. Nothing's going to change. So yeah, United
- 1:33:54Speaker 2: is it's a nice airline. I'm not gonna sit here
- 1:33:56Speaker 2: and bash them. It's fine. So all right, tomorrow, I'll
- 1:34:00Speaker 2: leave the will Stein thing that made me happy. There
- 1:34:04Speaker 2: is one thing he did yesterday or yeah it was
- 1:34:06Speaker 2: yesterday in his introductory or not introductory, but welcoming our
- 1:34:13Speaker 2: new athletic director, and he had something on that just
- 1:34:16Speaker 2: made me happy. So I'll leave that for tomorrow. But
- 1:34:18Speaker 2: all right, everybody, have a great day. I'll see you
- 1:34:21Speaker 2: tomorrow on Just the Cats
- 1:34:24Speaker 1: Tomorrow.
