Speaker 1: I am Sherry Mackie, and it's time for us to
• 0:02
Speaker 1: go to God in prayer. And as always I ask
• 0:05
Speaker 1: that you join along with us in prayer. You know,
• 0:08
Speaker 1: I think about so often we are comparing our lives
• 0:11
Speaker 1: to everybody else and looking at what somebody else has,
• 0:14
Speaker 1: or they got this family, they got that family, or
• 0:18
Speaker 1: they got this money, they got this gift, this talent,
• 0:20
Speaker 1: and we are discontented. Well, today I want to pray
• 0:23
Speaker 1: about us being satisfied with Jesus and him ordering our
• 0:28
Speaker 1: steps and what he is doing in our lives. Father, God,
• 0:33
Speaker 1: in the name of Jesus, Lord, you are the bread
• 0:37
Speaker 1: of life. Yet we confess we have fed our hearts
• 0:40
Speaker 1: with less of things. You are living water, but we've
• 0:44
Speaker 1: chased broken things that cannot hold anything. Today, God, we
• 0:48
Speaker 1: return hungry, thirsty, weary God, and we ask satisfy us
• 0:54
Speaker 1: with You and you alone. All around us, the world
• 0:58
Speaker 1: whispers that we need more and more, more and more success,
• 1:01
Speaker 1: more comfort, more approval. But you, Lord, whisper something different.
• 1:05
Speaker 1: You say, God, I am enough, And so God, today
• 1:09
Speaker 1: we quiet our soul before you. Right now, Jesus, we
• 1:13
Speaker 1: lay down our cravings. We surrender the idols that we've
• 1:17
Speaker 1: built in our lives the applause, the control, the endless striving,
• 1:22
Speaker 1: and God, we choose instead to trust that what you
• 1:25
Speaker 1: offer us is so much better, so much deeper, so
• 1:29
Speaker 1: much fuller and eternally lasting. Lord, open our eyes to
• 1:34
Speaker 1: the beauty of your presence when we feel for God,
• 1:38
Speaker 1: and remind us you are the God who sees when
• 1:42
Speaker 1: we feel empty. Fill us with the richness of your word.
• 1:46
Speaker 1: When we feel our love anchor us and the truth
• 1:49
Speaker 1: of the cross. When you proved once and for all
• 1:53
Speaker 1: that we are worth dying for Jesus, we want to
• 1:58
Speaker 1: long for you more than anything. God, let our desires
• 2:02
Speaker 1: be shaped by eternity. Teach us to feast on your promises,
• 2:06
Speaker 1: to rest in your grace, and to rejoice in your
• 2:09
Speaker 1: presence even in silence. God, break every chain God that
• 2:13
Speaker 1: binds us to false comforts. Let the sweetness of your
• 2:17
Speaker 1: presence drown out the noisiness of life. Let your peace God,
• 2:22
Speaker 1: our hearts, God, and your joy become our strength. God.
• 2:25
Speaker 1: When we're attempted to wonder, call us back with the
• 2:28
Speaker 1: kindness of your voice. When we're tempted to doubt, God,
• 2:31
Speaker 1: steady us with the truth of who you are. Jesus,
• 2:34
Speaker 1: you are our portion, You are our shepherd, You are
• 2:38
Speaker 1: our savior, you are our son. God, help us to
• 2:42
Speaker 1: live as people who truly are satisfied in you, not
• 2:47
Speaker 1: just today, but every day that you give us breath.
• 2:50
Speaker 1: Make our lives show and be a testimony that Jesus
• 2:54
Speaker 1: is enough. In your beautiful, powerful, and satisfying name, we
• 3:00
Speaker 1: pray God, we will be satisfied in You. Amen. Amen,
