- 1:25Speaker 4: time for the expos It sponsored.
- 1:27Speaker 1: Yeah, Cabin Fever, locally owned and operated since nineteen eighty two,
- 1:30Speaker 1: located in the heart of Trolley Square. It's Cabin Fever
- 1:33Speaker 1: so much more than a gift store, so.
- 1:35Speaker 2: Much more, I mean, incredibly more than just that, you know,
- 1:39Speaker 2: a run of the mill gift store.
- 1:40Speaker 1: We're looking for the first movie that ever scared you,
- 1:44Speaker 1: the most recent movie that has scared you.
- 1:47Speaker 2: I used to be terrified of scary movies, and so
- 1:52Speaker 2: much so that and I don't remember the name of
- 1:55Speaker 2: the movie, but it was like to the Invaders on
- 1:59Speaker 2: a space ship and they were going to Mars and
- 2:02Speaker 2: and there were these Martian creatures and I don't I was.
- 2:05Speaker 4: A little Mars attacks, is it? No?
- 2:07Speaker 2: No, I think I was twelve or something like that.
- 2:13Speaker 2: And it made me so frightened and scared. I felt
- 2:16Speaker 2: sick for three or four days and refused to leave
- 2:19Speaker 2: the property.
- 2:20Speaker 3: Really that scared scared you that much?
- 2:22Speaker 2: Yeah, it really did. And then I guess the most
- 2:25Speaker 2: recent movie to scare me probably probably the uh that Australian. Now,
- 2:32Speaker 2: it just left my mind.
- 2:34Speaker 4: Australian.
- 2:35Speaker 2: Think of it for a second, you know, with the
- 2:38Speaker 2: little kid and the and the car.
- 2:40Speaker 4: Oh skinn a marink no, no, Skinn marine No. That
- 2:44Speaker 4: was a weird one.
- 2:45Speaker 2: That was Australian.
- 2:47Speaker 4: Think of it, think of it.
- 2:49Speaker 5: My very first one that ever scared me is the
- 2:52Speaker 5: scariest Disney movie ever made.
- 2:54Speaker 4: It is called Watcher in the Woods.
- 2:56Speaker 3: That was creepy. Do you the good thing about Watcher
- 2:58Speaker 3: in the Woods. It's not, No, it's not. It is
- 3:02Speaker 3: just it's eerie.
- 3:03Speaker 4: It is beautifully done. I love Watching the Woods. I
- 3:05Speaker 4: own it on on DVD copy.
- 3:09Speaker 3: Benny Davis. Yeah, last movie Benny Davis was.
- 3:11Speaker 4: In and she was scary alone herself.
- 3:15Speaker 5: The most recent movie that scared me, the most recent
- 3:20Speaker 5: one that kept me on my toes and kept me
- 3:22Speaker 5: on the edge of the seat itself, was Green Room
- 3:25Speaker 5: with So it's about It's about these punk this punk
- 3:30Speaker 5: band that goes and performs at a Nazi bar with Andy.
- 3:34Speaker 5: They stumble upon something they're not supposed to see after
- 3:36Speaker 5: they get kicked out of the green room and all
- 3:38Speaker 5: hell ensues, and do you.
- 3:40Speaker 3: Get scared anymore? Katie or do you just enjoyed?
- 3:43Speaker 4: Takes a lot to scare me. I think the biggest
- 3:46Speaker 4: thing you'll ever get get me with is probably this weird,
- 3:50Speaker 4: strange video game where there's a shark in the water
- 3:52Speaker 4: and you have to swim through water and there's I.
- 3:55Speaker 2: Remember the movie, yes, the Sound of Music. No, No,
- 4:00Speaker 2: it was The Bobba Duke.
- 4:01Speaker 4: Oh, that movie was very good.
- 4:02Speaker 2: We interviewed the director. Yes, The Bobba Duke.
- 4:06Speaker 1: Scary eight seven seven, six oh two nine, six ninety six.

- 4:26Speaker 6: Et in the theaters when it came out, and when
- 4:29Speaker 6: the alien was first introduced, it freaked me out.
- 4:33Speaker 8: It was even like it I.

- 4:39Speaker 2: it now, you go yeah, kind of like what what what?
- 4:44Speaker 2: And yeah and now and.
- 4:47Speaker 1: Movies a long time ago, you didn't get leaked pictures
- 4:50Speaker 1: of what things were going to look like, so you
- 4:52Speaker 1: really were surprised when you went to the movie. So, yeah,
- 4:56Speaker 1: we didn't know what.
- 4:56Speaker 4: ET was going to look like, and trailers didn't.
- 4:58Speaker 2: Give any anything recently, anything recently.
- 5:01Speaker 6: Meg, I think the last movie that kind of freaked
- 5:05Speaker 6: me out was the movie Barbarian.
- 5:07Speaker 4: That one was so good.
- 5:10Speaker 5: Yes it is guard. Isn't you think he's going to
- 5:13Speaker 5: be the bad guy? It's so That movie was very good.
- 5:16Speaker 5: I agree, Thanks Meg, Thanks Meg. Let's go to Mary Anne.
- 5:21Speaker 2: I'm married. Where are you, Marianne, I'm on my way
- 5:25Speaker 2: to work. Okay, what scared you?
- 5:28Speaker 9: So?
- 5:28Speaker 10: My first movie was Poultergeist because I was a child
- 5:31Speaker 10: when I watched it, and still to this still, to
- 5:34Speaker 10: this day, I can't see a screen that's like, you know,
- 5:37Speaker 10: fuzzing out without getting a little weird.
- 5:40Speaker 2: I was an I was an adult when I saw it,
- 5:42Speaker 2: and I don't remember being really scared, but I'm it
- 5:46Speaker 2: was gripping. I would say it was very gripping. Maybe, yeah,
- 5:50Speaker 2: thank you. Anything recently, anything recently scared you.
- 5:55Speaker 10: I just don't like anything that because I've had kids.
- 5:58Speaker 10: I don't like anything that involves kids.
- 6:00Speaker 2: So like a yeah, all right, see you later. Uh Martha,
- 6:07Speaker 2: Hi Martha, where are you calling from?

- 6:18Speaker 11: from them. So the first movie is going to age
- 6:21Speaker 11: me quite a bit. That ever scared me.
- 6:23Speaker 6: I was a really little kid.
- 6:24Speaker 11: I saw Watership Down.
- 6:28Speaker 2: Those rabbits are really they are disgusting. Yeah, I was just.
- 6:34Speaker 6: A little kid.
- 6:35Speaker 11: It was a very violent movie.
- 6:36Speaker 12: And he's the heck out of me.
- 6:38Speaker 2: Yeah, thanks Marion, Martha, Martha.
- 6:44Speaker 4: I've got a couple more minutes. Let's go to Cole.
- 6:47Speaker 3: Hey, Cole, what's your scary movie?
- 6:52Speaker 13: When I was a kid, they put all of the
- 6:55Speaker 13: old it shows into one like a movie, and that
- 7:00Speaker 13: it made me scare at the drain for like five
- 7:02Speaker 13: years as a kid.
- 7:03Speaker 4: There, I understand that.
- 7:05Speaker 2: Yeah, all right, thank you.
- 7:08Speaker 4: Anything recent call.

- 7:21Speaker 14: Col Yeah, I'm I'm calling from the southeast of Salt Lakes.
- 7:33Speaker 14: The first movie I remember actually scaring me was like
- 7:37Speaker 14: it was in the series Tales from the Crypt. It's
- 7:40Speaker 14: it's a movie called Demon Night, where like a bunch
- 7:44Speaker 14: of demons show up and someone's holding a flask of
- 7:48Speaker 14: what's supposed to be Jesus's blood, and it's like ceiling
- 7:52Speaker 14: off this abandoned The blood is magic and it seals
- 7:55Speaker 14: off this abandoned house. And yeah, I remember it is
- 8:00Speaker 14: like scarring me.
- 8:02Speaker 8: And and then like.
- 8:04Speaker 14: More, I like more recently, I've like learned to understand horror,
- 8:08Speaker 14: so horror doesn't really get me. But I remember the
- 8:10Speaker 14: last movie I watched that made me really uneasy that
- 8:15Speaker 14: I had to stand up pose it turn the lights
- 8:18Speaker 14: off with No Country for Old Men.
- 8:20Speaker 3: Yeah, that's a different.
- 8:22Speaker 14: Way, and it was like, oh, like how is how
- 8:26Speaker 14: is Javier Bardem doing what he's doing? And why is
- 8:29Speaker 14: nobody listening?
- 8:30Speaker 2: And I can I tell you my favorite line from
- 8:33Speaker 2: that movie. It's when when it's when Tommy Lee Jones
- 8:38Speaker 2: and what's his name go his deputy, No, it is
- 8:42Speaker 2: his deputy, not Josh Brolin. They go and they're looking
- 8:45Speaker 2: down into the valley where all those people have been killed,
- 8:49Speaker 2: and and the deputy says, what, boy, that sure is
- 8:52Speaker 2: a mess, isn't it, sheriff? And Tommy Lee Jones goes, well,
- 8:56Speaker 2: it'll do until the mess gets here.
- 9:00Speaker 13: That's a good one.
- 9:02Speaker 14: Yeah, that was just a movie that just made me
- 9:05Speaker 14: go I can't. It was nominated for an Oscar.
- 9:09Speaker 2: I get it all right, yes, all right.
- 9:13Speaker 5: The ex pool continues after these messages eight seven, seven,
- 9:17Speaker 5: six oh two nine six nine six.
- 9:19Speaker 4: The question is.
- 9:21Speaker 5: The first movie that ever scared you and the most
- 9:24Speaker 5: recent movie that ever scared you?
- 9:26Speaker 2: It was Garrett Dilla Hunt, who's the depth I couldn't
- 9:28Speaker 2: think of his name.
- 9:29Speaker 4: There you go, all.
- 9:30Speaker 2: Right, Harriman, Okay, let's get through the phones with the
- 9:35Speaker 2: phones are full. Let's you see how many people we

- 9:48Speaker 2: movie that really scared you when you were young?

- 9:54Speaker 12: actually gave me nightmares for the first time was the
- 9:57Speaker 12: original Willie Walker and the Chocolate Factory.
- 10:00Speaker 4: It's the boat scene.
- 10:01Speaker 1: There's lots of stuffed up the chocolate too.
- 10:05Speaker 10: And when I was a kid, I was always told
- 10:07Speaker 10: by like my mom and my grandma whatever, that if
- 10:11Speaker 10: I had a scary dream, to think there's something that
- 10:13Speaker 10: made me happy.
- 10:13Speaker 12: And for the longest time, I couldn't think of chocolate.
- 10:16Speaker 15: Oh, all right, thank you, thank you.
- 10:21Speaker 4: Let's go to Emily.
- 10:23Speaker 2: Hi, Emily, Hi, Hi, what movie scared you?
- 10:28Speaker 7: Alien? It scared me so bad. And I had a
- 10:33Speaker 7: headgear that I had to wear at night, and I
- 10:37Speaker 7: wore it religiously because I thought, Okay, the alien can't
- 10:40Speaker 7: implant its egg inside me because I'm wearing my head sport.
- 10:44Speaker 2: Well, there you go. And Emily, anything recently frightened you?

- 11:09Speaker 13: That's just my friends and.
- 11:11Speaker 16: I thought we'd be tough. We kind of snuck into
- 11:14Speaker 16: it and at that first attack scene, we all knew
- 11:17Speaker 16: we were in over our heads.
- 11:19Speaker 2: Well again, I saw that. I saw it when I
- 11:22Speaker 2: was an adult, and I just remember sitting there thinking,
- 11:24Speaker 2: this movie is so cool.
- 11:26Speaker 5: I I remember correctly. It is the very first werewolf,
- 11:29Speaker 5: like full werewolf transformation you see on film.
- 11:31Speaker 2: Really cool, really good, such a web.
- 11:33Speaker 8: Of the theater.
- 11:34Speaker 16: After that, attack scene, and then decided we were toughen up.
- 11:37Speaker 16: We came back a couple of days later and made
- 11:39Speaker 16: it to the hospital scene and then left again.
- 11:43Speaker 2: I know the feeling, I know.
- 11:45Speaker 8: I know that never saw.
- 11:46Speaker 12: The whole thing.

- 12:21Speaker 12: hated The Mummy. Yeah, scared the craft out of me.

- 12:31Speaker 2: Yeah yeah, yeah, I mean those were very well done.
- 12:34Speaker 4: My dad showed me that one for the first time.

- 12:41Speaker 12: No scary movies. Okay, wonder is recent, but not recent
- 12:47Speaker 12: that it's kind of like the last one I saw
- 12:50Speaker 12: was that s Oh yeah, this wicked scientist who turns
- 12:56Speaker 12: a man into a state.
- 12:58Speaker 11: Yeah.

- 14:38Speaker 3: Thought, eight years old. That's pretty young.
- 14:40Speaker 4: That's pretty young.
- 14:42Speaker 2: It's like my my wife said that her older sister
- 14:47Speaker 2: took made her watch The Exorcist when she was too young.
- 14:51Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 14:52Speaker 2: One when I went to see The Exorcist in the
- 14:54Speaker 2: theater and it was it's it was pretty scary. I mean,
- 14:58Speaker 2: I was kind of scared, but I I was there
- 15:00Speaker 2: with my friend Chris Barnes, and he was down on
- 15:03Speaker 2: his hands and knees on the floor of the theater, going,
- 15:06Speaker 2: I can't do this anymore, I can't do this. It
- 15:10Speaker 2: was just so he was so scared by that and
- 15:12Speaker 2: that movie. That movie actually left me feeling a little
- 15:15Speaker 2: unsettled for a couple a couple of days.
- 15:18Speaker 4: Thank you, Thank you, thanks Amanda.
- 15:21Speaker 5: Oh sorry, I will say I had a friend watch
- 15:25Speaker 5: walk out of the movie theater during The Messengers, which
- 15:28Speaker 5: is not a very scary movie. In my personal opinion,
- 15:31Speaker 5: it has it's a Chris Kirsten Stewart movie when she
- 15:36Speaker 5: was younger about a haunted farm that she moves to.
- 15:39Speaker 2: A haunted farm.
- 15:40Speaker 4: Haunted farm.
- 15:41Speaker 2: Yeah, that sounds really scary.
- 15:43Speaker 4: Incredibly original.
- 15:45Speaker 1: Some people are texting in the ring Okay, yeah, yeah,
- 15:49Speaker 1: Amityville horror, A rack Noophobia.
- 15:53Speaker 4: We got another watch in the woods.
- 15:55Speaker 2: In the in the texting, I thought a racknophobia was
- 15:57Speaker 2: just kind of amusing.
- 15:58Speaker 11: No.
- 15:59Speaker 1: I still if I'm showering and I think too much
- 16:02Speaker 1: about the shower head and I'm.
- 16:05Speaker 3: Just sure there's there's a spider waiting.
- 16:08Speaker 2: Up that I what what what sort of what sort
- 16:10Speaker 2: of thought process is it that you're in the shower
- 16:13Speaker 2: and you start thinking about the shower head?
- 16:15Speaker 1: Well, no, when I look if I if I look
- 16:17Speaker 1: at it too much and start thinking about the spider
- 16:20Speaker 1: that might be hiding up there, and then when I
- 16:22Speaker 1: close my eyes to wash my face, he's gonna come down.
- 16:27Speaker 2: Yep.
- 16:28Speaker 4: Another another texts is Leprechaun. That movie I just found
- 16:33Speaker 4: incredibly funny.
- 16:35Speaker 3: Quiet Place. That's a good one, and the the sequels
- 16:39Speaker 3: are really good too.
- 16:40Speaker 4: I finally watched the Day one and that was that
- 16:44Speaker 4: was really good.
- 16:46Speaker 2: I when I was very little kid. And I've looked
- 16:49Speaker 2: this up before and I can't remember what it's called now,
- 16:52Speaker 2: but it was on my parents were watching. I think
- 16:55Speaker 2: it was I don't know, ed Sullivan or something, and
- 16:58Speaker 2: and he said, now we're going to show this short film.
- 17:01Speaker 2: It's a little short film about nuclear war. And it
- 17:05Speaker 2: was a black and white animated film. It was silent
- 17:11Speaker 2: and it showed mushroom clouds and then it showed animals
- 17:16Speaker 2: and people looking up at the mushroom cloud and then
- 17:19Speaker 2: their eyes going black. Oh geez, I've looked it up before.
- 17:25Speaker 2: I'll see if I can find it again. It was
- 17:27Speaker 2: like a four five six minute film, but it was
- 17:30Speaker 2: meant to be, you know, let's not go detonated, no
- 17:33Speaker 2: nuclear bombs, an anti nuke film, scary.
- 17:38Speaker 3: Bourbon texted in. And this is my most recent one.
- 17:42Speaker 3: Civil War. Yeah, that one with Kirsten Dunst and Jesse Plemmons.
- 17:48Speaker 4: It's just too real.
- 17:49Speaker 2: Yeah, it's And Jesse Plemmons was just too real in that.
- 17:52Speaker 3: That scene and he's only in it for five minutes.
- 17:56Speaker 3: That scene with him is the scariest.
- 17:59Speaker 2: And that's good plump Jesse Plemmons. That's plump Jesse Plemmons,
- 18:05Speaker 2: Skinny Jesse Plemons couldn't have pulled that off.
- 18:07Speaker 4: Well, we've got we can finish off with Ben Ben

- 18:18Speaker 8: So the first one that scared me, it was probably
- 18:22Speaker 8: a rachmophobia. And the worst part is right after we
- 18:29Speaker 8: watched it, I was like four or five years old.
- 18:32Speaker 8: My mom said, Okay, it's time to go take a bath.
- 18:34Speaker 8: So I go into the bathroom. There's a little crack
- 18:38Speaker 8: in the tub and a spider's eggsack hatch.
- 18:44Speaker 2: Right get it did not?
- 18:48Speaker 4: It did?
- 18:49Speaker 8: And and my older brothers and sisters still make fun
- 18:52Speaker 8: of me for it. And I'm still terrified of spiders.
- 18:55Speaker 4: I am yeah with you.
- 18:57Speaker 2: I don't like them.
- 18:58Speaker 8: Thank you.
