Transcript
- 0:01[SPEAKER_00]: time for the 49ers rush podcast.
- 0:28[SPEAKER_00]: And here's your host, John Chapman.
- 0:33[SPEAKER_01]: What is going on, Faithful, it is absolutely incredible to be with you guys day.
- 0:38[SPEAKER_01]: I got to let you know.
- 0:39[SPEAKER_01]: Today was a four fall start or lane Johnson as we call them to this show.
- 0:48[SPEAKER_01]: The idea was to get a countdown show done.
- 0:50[SPEAKER_01]: I was supposed to record with Dan earlier, had some family stuff, not bad stuff, a family coming from out of town.
- 0:55[SPEAKER_01]: So I had to postpone that one.
- 0:57[SPEAKER_01]: Then I was going to do the countdown, which got
- 1:02[SPEAKER_01]: Then it comes across the waver wire up 49er's added to cut to so then all right cool I get to go build this you know NFL profile and scouting report on these two players, which I love get that done and then you get the press conference from Kyle, which I'm going to update everybody on which was supposed to happen yesterday, but the 49er's media is always weird so then you know as like you know I'm going to watch Kyle I won't go through the players right now.
- 1:26[SPEAKER_01]: I got to get to show done I got some stuff that's going on.
- 1:30[SPEAKER_01]: to have that much time.
- 1:30[SPEAKER_01]: So it's funny because if you follow us on YouTube and our schedule timing, this shows bit scheduled pushback, scheduled pushback, scheduled pushback, just kind of the way it goes.
- 1:41[SPEAKER_01]: But excited for today.
- 1:42[SPEAKER_01]: This is episode 1,652 of the 49ers rush podcast.
- 1:46[SPEAKER_01]: Have to say thank you to our executive producers of all of our shows, Corey Robbins, 49ers, George 365 in David Gil, the best of the best.
- 1:54[SPEAKER_01]: So what we're going to do is couple tidbits on Kyle's
- 2:00[SPEAKER_01]: Then we're going to jump into two brand new 49ers that we're just added today and in our countdown series and it's funny because you know the 40 the NFL roster's 90 players you get 91 with the international pathway and then we've covered sincere McCormick who was cut or waived and Derek can't team or sorry Derek forest gets placed on IR so
- 2:27[SPEAKER_01]: You know, 90 turns to 91 turns to 92 turns to 93 and so yeah, we're going to have a couple of numbers that you know replicate because I want to make sure we cover the new guys for sure.
- 2:36[SPEAKER_01]: So anyway, don't be sticklers with the actual numbers of the process, but it's it's a killer for us as it always is, but excited because we got new 49ers.
- 2:45[SPEAKER_01]: And it's at a position of huge need.
- 2:46[SPEAKER_01]: Probably the biggest takeaway from Kyle Shanahan's press conference was Isaac Rindo.
- 2:52[SPEAKER_01]: Torres Peck lifting weights a month ago.
- 2:55[SPEAKER_01]: Man, the $40 don't leak.
- 2:56[SPEAKER_01]: Do they?
- 2:58[SPEAKER_01]: You get a player on the roster, tears his peck a month ago.
- 3:02[SPEAKER_01]: Nobody knows about it.
- 3:04[SPEAKER_01]: Man, Grito just can't, he just can't stay healthy.
- 3:07[SPEAKER_01]: Like, and I would be willing to bet, what's I don't like to do?
- 3:13[SPEAKER_01]: I like to bet, but not in a negative light, right?
- 3:16[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know if he ever suits up for the $40 again.
- 3:19[SPEAKER_01]: Now, partially, this entry could help him.
- 3:22[SPEAKER_01]: It could secure a roster spot for him by staying on the pub.
- 3:27[SPEAKER_01]: Because he's not going to count as a roster spot.
- 3:28[SPEAKER_01]: Now, the Kyle Shader was asked, was it a season ending pec injury?
- 3:33[SPEAKER_01]: He said not a season ending, but probably to the end of training camp.
- 3:38[SPEAKER_01]: So like, man, he's not that good anyway.
- 3:41[SPEAKER_01]: He's never been healthy.
- 3:43[SPEAKER_01]: He's going to his third season.
- 3:45[SPEAKER_01]: Has it participated really in any training camps?
- 3:48[SPEAKER_01]: What's so ever?
- 3:52[SPEAKER_01]: Put them on pup and just put them on the shelf, break glass in case of emergency, right?
- 3:58[SPEAKER_01]: But I don't know why what emergency would want Isaac Rindo out there playing with the fumbles, lack of vision, can't run screens properly, just I don't know what to do with the dude, man.
- 4:11[SPEAKER_01]: There's a reason why you never started college at two separate schools in five seasons.
- 4:16[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, he's had now you had the three NFL seasons.
- 4:20[SPEAKER_01]: his five college seasons.
- 4:21[SPEAKER_01]: He has been injured seven out of eight consecutive seasons.
- 4:27[SPEAKER_01]: That's as injury prone as you're going to get now.
- 4:31[SPEAKER_01]: Does that mean all as pick was more likely to be torn because he's had all these injuries.
- 4:35[SPEAKER_01]: No, it's just this guy just cannot stay healthy, whether it's hamstrings, knees, ankles, pecs, dead matter.
- 4:43[SPEAKER_01]: It's like a game of operation.
- 4:49[SPEAKER_01]: how many injuries can you have like dudes Mr. Glass and I hate like I hate it whenever people do that, you know, tear these players down and not trying to do that, but the facts are the facts seven injuries out of eight seasons.
- 5:10[SPEAKER_01]: do it is it's hard to get a runny back that has no vision at all, like just none.
- 5:17[SPEAKER_01]: And then the fumbling issues on top of it.
- 5:18[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, lightweight speed guy, whatever else.
- 5:20[SPEAKER_01]: So that's huge joint practices are going to be with the Titans and Chargers.
- 5:24[SPEAKER_01]: Um,
- 5:25[SPEAKER_01]: that was kind of to be expected interesting you do play the chargers not that it matters much like that's not that big of a deal um Trent is the only player that hasn't reported um didn't talk about why said he's going to be there next week you know you had to put the no holdout claws into his contract Trent don't want to be there there's no like I understand I'm not overly concerned about this he's under contract
- 5:49[SPEAKER_01]: Trent knows what to do.
- 5:50[SPEAKER_01]: He's going to have half the days off anyway, but it's nice to have everybody in the building.
- 5:55[SPEAKER_01]: Probably one of my favorite things from the presser.
- 5:57[SPEAKER_01]: Also, Digi Zuwa, they asked Kyle about it.
- 6:00[SPEAKER_01]: He said one of the best leaders on the team so far.
- 6:04[SPEAKER_01]: not a shock if you watched our show when they signed them and you know we talked about also a lot and how he was the Dallas Cowboys glue he was the locker room guy and they went through a lot had you know player die he was the guy that kind of led that whole effort kept everybody like this dude is for real and you know being Wayne we're talking Tuesday man
- 6:30[SPEAKER_01]: I said, oh, so should be, and now I'm, like, even more like, oh, hell yeah.
- 6:35[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, Osa, Oteki Zua got to be a captain after getting traded for and show it up doing what he's got to do.
- 6:40[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, for good love it.
- 6:43[SPEAKER_01]: My thing that I wanted to know the most was who's taking reps at the number three or Sam linebacker?
- 6:50[SPEAKER_01]: They tried to get it out of them didn't go well.
- 6:54[SPEAKER_01]: They asked them is there a leader at the Sam or the number three linebacker.
- 6:57[SPEAKER_01]: He said nope.
- 6:58[SPEAKER_01]: He said there's a big time competition for three four five and six.
- 7:02[SPEAKER_01]: You have Fred Warner and Drake Greenlaw one two.
- 7:04[SPEAKER_01]: That's easy after that who knows but like
- 7:07[SPEAKER_01]: Who's taking reps at Sam?
- 7:09[SPEAKER_01]: It's very easy follow-up guys.
- 7:11[SPEAKER_01]: Come on now.
- 7:12[SPEAKER_01]: Who's taking reps there?
- 7:14[SPEAKER_01]: At least that.
- 7:14[SPEAKER_01]: Who's taking reps?
- 7:15[SPEAKER_01]: Who's returning points?
- 7:17[SPEAKER_01]: Come on.
- 7:18[SPEAKER_01]: be better.
- 7:20[SPEAKER_01]: But anyway, very curious to see how that's going to go.
- 7:23[SPEAKER_01]: And then, you know, I watched a little bit of EOR's press conference.
- 7:26[SPEAKER_01]: You know, there's players up to Nick Bosa was on there.
- 7:29[SPEAKER_01]: I can only take so much before I fall asleep.
- 7:31[SPEAKER_01]: But Nick Bosa did say quote, it's going really well.
- 7:35[SPEAKER_01]: And was injured early.
- 7:37[SPEAKER_01]: So he's taking it slow in quote.
- 7:41[SPEAKER_01]: Those are good
- 7:49[SPEAKER_01]: for, you know, just kind of what's going on with.
- 7:54[SPEAKER_01]: get, you know, the entire, whatever, and we'll get more information and there'll be a lot more news coming out and all that kind of stuff, but it definitely didn't want to leave those and, you know, as we kind of conclude, I want to go through the chat a little bit today's episode about the roster countdown.
- 8:09[SPEAKER_01]: Most importantly, the two newest 49ers, Jordan Mims and Jamar Jefferson, which both are running backs.
- 8:17[SPEAKER_01]: I said whenever we covered sincere McCormick as one of our
- 8:23[SPEAKER_01]: Run it back room is light, even with K-Lon Black, like they are a light light light light light.
- 8:29[SPEAKER_01]: And then you add on to that, the injury of Isaac Grindo, and now it's even lighter, it makes a lot of sense why they added not one, but two running backs in Jordan, Manson, Jamarchef.
- 8:38[SPEAKER_01]: And we're gonna tell y'all about it.
- 8:40[SPEAKER_01]: Before you leave today's show, you're gonna know everything you need to know about the two newest 49ers.
- 8:45[SPEAKER_01]: Appreciate all the Hashtag CCs, countdown crew, coming in strong, happy to be here, David.
- 8:51[SPEAKER_01]: Appreciate you, Ben.
- 8:52[SPEAKER_01]: Um, yeah, and says, you know, should have cut Grando two years ago, should have drafted them, but I don't mind taking chances on highweight speed guys.
- 9:04[SPEAKER_01]: But man, there's like, you can't draft quarterbacks that aren't accurate.
- 9:07[SPEAKER_01]: You can't draft cornerbacks that are slow.
- 9:10[SPEAKER_01]: You can't draft wide receivers that can't catch.
- 9:13[SPEAKER_01]: You can't draft for any backs that can't see.
- 9:16[SPEAKER_01]: Like, there are certain thresholds.
- 9:20[SPEAKER_01]: this guy's got to be able to do this and you know, it's a day three pic that's I think fourth round but yikes yikes yikes yikes yikes what's up Thomas, man, appreciate your brother uh... i'm sorry, but great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great
- 9:44[SPEAKER_01]: like you just put them on pup.
- 9:45[SPEAKER_01]: He doesn't count against the roster.
- 9:48[SPEAKER_01]: He doesn't.
- 9:49[SPEAKER_01]: It's an extra like there's not a negative and keeping a player on pup one.
- 9:54[SPEAKER_01]: If you cut a player on injury, you got to pay an injury settlement.
- 9:57[SPEAKER_01]: That comes out of the owner's pocket more than anything else.
- 10:00[SPEAKER_01]: But like there's no reason to because with the torn pack, you could play in six months.
- 10:08[SPEAKER_01]: Hey, you know, Kyle shit.
- 10:09[SPEAKER_01]: It said it's going to take him up against, you know, trading camp, which they said it happened a month ago.
- 10:14[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know the exact whatever, but let let let let let's say it happened in April right that that's the wind it happened in April kind of the earliest.
- 10:23[SPEAKER_01]: He's going to be available except timber.
- 10:26[SPEAKER_01]: but probably October, just put him on the pub and just keep him there.
- 10:31[SPEAKER_01]: And you know, if he was working out at the facility, it's pub, if he's working off at home and he got injured, that's in F.I.
- 10:37[SPEAKER_01]: That's less money for him.
- 10:39[SPEAKER_01]: Hopefully he was with that the facility, man, if you're a bubble roster player, you know, practice squad, where they're working out of the facility.
- 10:46[SPEAKER_01]: You get hurt there, you paid.
- 10:48[SPEAKER_01]: You get hurt at home, even if it is lifting weights, or doing drills.
- 10:51[SPEAKER_01]: Nah.
- 10:52[SPEAKER_01]: And if they're going to take their body to keep it, but yeah, the good news, if there is good news,
- 10:59[SPEAKER_01]: Garendo has a little bit more longevity with the 49ers now because he was a cut casualty guy anyway, but now you don't really have to You just keep them on pup the entire time pass the 53 don't count and if you get into November and God forbid Kale and Black Jordan James Christian we can't forget hurt.
- 11:18[SPEAKER_01]: You just bring him out off the reserve out of the fridge.
- 11:21[SPEAKER_01]: You'd be ready to go Yeah, right here David.
- 11:25[SPEAKER_01]: He's just not made for it
- 11:27[SPEAKER_01]: Some 49ers love him.
- 11:28[SPEAKER_01]: That's good champion your players like have the dialogue.
- 11:32[SPEAKER_01]: That's what we're here for to inform you on these players, but yeah, get your guys.
- 11:37[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, look at this.
- 11:38[SPEAKER_01]: The man 49ers faithful forever.
- 11:40[SPEAKER_01]: 90 shout out to Josh Zach and Ben, um, they are the curators, the designers, the blueprint engineers.
- 11:49[SPEAKER_01]: of this 91 now 92 man roster series, appreciate you, brother.
- 11:54[SPEAKER_01]: Appreciate you, brother.
- 11:55[SPEAKER_01]: What's up?
- 11:56[SPEAKER_01]: We got nine as par in the house.
- 11:57[SPEAKER_01]: Let's go four or four here.
- 11:59[SPEAKER_01]: What's up?
- 11:59[SPEAKER_01]: Call it.
- 12:00[SPEAKER_01]: My man he says, John, see you in Australia.
- 12:05[SPEAKER_01]: I cannot wait.

- 12:53[SPEAKER_01]: That is what it is.
- 12:54[SPEAKER_01]: That is what it is being appreciate you.
- 12:56[SPEAKER_01]: What's a Brian.
- 12:57[SPEAKER_01]: You are the freaking man.
- 12:59[SPEAKER_01]: So right here, Debster.
- 13:01[SPEAKER_01]: What's up, Debster?
- 13:01[SPEAKER_01]: You're one of the best.
- 13:03[SPEAKER_01]: She says, what is your take on the runnybacks?
- 13:05[SPEAKER_01]: She Claire five later.
- 13:07[SPEAKER_01]: That we just got.
- 13:08[SPEAKER_01]: So without further ado, let's dive into the 40 daughters roster countdown of 2026.
- 13:15[SPEAKER_01]: Now here's the way that this works.
- 13:16[SPEAKER_01]: We do this every year, all 90 players.
- 13:20[SPEAKER_01]: Jordan MIMS comes at at number 82 and Jamar Jefferson number 81.
- 13:24[SPEAKER_01]: These are the two running backs that were just added.
- 13:27[SPEAKER_01]: We're going to dive in and tell you everything that you need to know about both of them.
- 13:30[SPEAKER_01]: Now here's the funny thing, maybe not funny.
- 13:34[SPEAKER_01]: They're very similar.
- 13:35[SPEAKER_01]: They're both kind of bowling ball, bigger, styled, slow plotting, running backs that are hard to bring down.
- 13:41[SPEAKER_01]: But I want to give each one of them their own, right?
- 13:44[SPEAKER_01]: Treat them with the respect that they deserve.
- 13:48[SPEAKER_01]: These are veteran running backs that have journey through the NFL over the past three to four years have not found a home, have not got a lot of volume, but have been on a lot of teams.
- 13:58[SPEAKER_01]: There's way too many similarities,
- 14:02[SPEAKER_01]: Let's dive into number 82 Jordan men's first.
- 14:05[SPEAKER_01]: Let's go through it.
- 14:06[SPEAKER_01]: Then we'll go 81 from our Jeffers.
- 14:08[SPEAKER_01]: And I'm going to apologize because a lot of the stuff, they're so similar.
- 14:12[SPEAKER_01]: They're journey similar.
- 14:15[SPEAKER_01]: Highway speed similar.
- 14:17[SPEAKER_01]: You said to the NFL, similar.
- 14:19[SPEAKER_01]: So I don't want to sound redundant.
- 14:24[SPEAKER_01]: But there, there's just a lot of similarity.
- 14:28[SPEAKER_01]: So, Jordan Mibbs, running back six foot 205, 26 years old, he turns 27 next month, June 16th.
- 14:37[SPEAKER_01]: He's a big all around short yardage back that can catch.
- 14:41[SPEAKER_01]: he has the most receiving prowess of the two of not that, you know, yeah, I'm not trying to say to say tomorrow Jefferson can't catch, but Jordan Mims is the receiving option, but he's six foot two or five and he runs a four six five, like he is not fast.
- 14:56[SPEAKER_01]: There's a reason why this player was on the waver bar.
- 14:59[SPEAKER_01]: There's the reason why both of these guys were.
- 15:01[SPEAKER_01]: He's from Fresno State, went to East Palo Alto.
- 15:04[SPEAKER_01]: That's where he's born and raised, went to Midlow, Atherton High School, Ed, he was a killer there.
- 15:11[SPEAKER_01]: 321 rush yards in one game in high school, Ed, you know, probably my favorite thing.
- 15:20[SPEAKER_01]: Whenever we're talking about Jordan Mims, his biggest games in high school, his biggest games in college, all came and the playoffs or bull games or games that mattered.
- 15:31[SPEAKER_01]: His biggest games.
- 15:31[SPEAKER_01]: So when the lights are bright, Jordan Mims is at his best.
- 15:36[SPEAKER_01]: That is huge.
- 15:37[SPEAKER_01]: He was an undrafted free agent in 2023.
- 15:40[SPEAKER_01]: And he's now with his 14ers with the bills first, then the Saints, then the Titans, now he's with the 49ers.
- 15:47[SPEAKER_01]: Um, you know, pulled up some tape back at Fresno State, pulled dogs, go dogs, um, big power back doesn't change direction well, like at all, like he runs through.
- 15:58[SPEAKER_01]: He is not a juke, whatever, and I always use the phrase, make people miss, like Caleb Black doesn't make people miss.
- 16:07[SPEAKER_01]: He has a lot of broken tackles.
- 16:09[SPEAKER_01]: That's not making people miss in my definition.
- 16:12[SPEAKER_01]: So maybe I need to clarify that people fall off of him.
- 16:16[SPEAKER_01]: Like, tomarkibs makes people miss, right?
- 16:19[SPEAKER_01]: Like, like, like, the juke of the agility and all that stuff, that's making people miss.
- 16:25[SPEAKER_01]: You're not getting that from Kaylin Black, Jordan Mems to Marge Jefferson.
- 16:28[SPEAKER_01]: That's all what they do.
- 16:30[SPEAKER_01]: These are bowling ball, Maurice Jones drew, just shrugging people off, like middle school children at a daycare, you know, just get off, get off me.
- 16:43[SPEAKER_01]: Like, that's what it is.
- 16:45[SPEAKER_01]: And like, it's funny because I watched his tape first and I was like, all right, he's slow.
- 16:49[SPEAKER_01]: Looked up his pro day numbers, four, six, five in the 40 yard dash slow.
- 16:54[SPEAKER_01]: seven, five, three cone.
- 16:56[SPEAKER_01]: That means change of direction.
- 16:57[SPEAKER_01]: No bueno.
- 16:58[SPEAKER_01]: This dude is at north south, not even a one cut runner, I would say, just a big power back.
- 17:05[SPEAKER_01]: It's just what it is.
- 17:05[SPEAKER_01]: But very good receiving.
- 17:08[SPEAKER_01]: He had 91 career receptions in college, 18 career touchdowns, which I did like.
- 17:13[SPEAKER_01]: His best skill set is short yard.
- 17:15[SPEAKER_01]: It's falling forward, getting positive yards, feet move on
- 17:20[SPEAKER_01]: That is what I'd like probably most about Jordan Mims's game, you know, three years in the NFL, he's played in 17 games.
- 17:30[SPEAKER_01]: 20 rush attempts for 70 yards, not good 12 reception 19 targets, not bad 71 yards.
- 17:36[SPEAKER_01]: He had three first downs in the receiving game 71 career special team snaps with one kickoff return for 19 yards.
- 17:43[SPEAKER_01]: He's not a returner.
- 17:45[SPEAKER_01]: He is not a returner.
- 17:48[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe you have them up in the Bryan Robinson role and kickoff as a blocker perhaps because of the size.
- 17:54[SPEAKER_01]: But you know, I don't know the
- 17:59[SPEAKER_01]: We don't have those things yet, but, you know, you're talking about a guy, I, like, I don't want to say this 404.
- 18:07[SPEAKER_01]: He's a tackling dummy.
- 18:08[SPEAKER_01]: Got it.
- 18:09[SPEAKER_01]: I don't, I would say he's more than that.
- 18:13[SPEAKER_01]: But at worst, you got these two guys that are going to get a lot of reps in fight for practice squad battle.
- 18:21[SPEAKER_01]: The running back depth chart set.
- 18:23[SPEAKER_01]: Christian McCaffrey,
- 18:25[SPEAKER_01]: Now, there's a battle for number two, Jordan J's first K to black, but they're both making this roster.
- 18:31[SPEAKER_01]: Isaac Rindos now on pup way to go.
- 18:34[SPEAKER_01]: Patrick Taylor Jr., like if you need a vet step into, you know, break glass in case over.
- 18:40[SPEAKER_01]: Patrick Taylor Jr. can do everything.
- 18:43[SPEAKER_01]: Very strong powerful runner consistent.
- 18:46[SPEAKER_01]: Can catch out the backfield, can do special teams can return.
- 18:49[SPEAKER_01]: And the kickoff gave you need to he can do whatever you want.
- 18:54[SPEAKER_01]: Jamar Jefferson, Jordan Mims, you're fighting for a practice squad spot or an injury that gives you a chance and you kind of seize the moment.
- 19:03[SPEAKER_01]: That's about it.
- 19:06[SPEAKER_01]: Uh, that's the job did that make it be filled all warm and squishy about Mims.
- 19:11[SPEAKER_01]: I, what I'm trying my hardest to, this is the number 82 player on the roster that was added and wasn't on NFL roster despite every team having 91 players.
- 19:25[SPEAKER_01]: That's what you get here.
- 19:28[SPEAKER_01]: This is it, you know, nobody's going out and buying a Jordan Mims jersey.
- 19:32[SPEAKER_01]: No slight to him.
- 19:34[SPEAKER_01]: It's just, let's be realistic with what we got going on right here.
- 19:39[SPEAKER_01]: Let's be realistic.
- 19:41[SPEAKER_01]: And he's tough.
- 19:43[SPEAKER_01]: He's going to give you a very, very good look.
- 19:47[SPEAKER_01]: He could do a little bit of everything, but I doubt there could be a lot of play call set up.
- 19:52[SPEAKER_01]: for my man Jordan Mims.
- 19:54[SPEAKER_01]: All right, let's get to number 81.
- 19:57[SPEAKER_01]: Jamar Jefferson, the other newest 49ers running back in a room that needs depth big time right after this.
- 20:05[SPEAKER_01]: 49ers rush road trip is going into it's sixth year with over 40 events at road games.
- 20:11[SPEAKER_01]: If you are traveling to see the 49ers play this year, you gotta come party with us.
- 20:16[SPEAKER_01]: And on top of that, we give games, trivia, giveaways.
- 20:21[SPEAKER_01]: We've partnered with tick pick this year.
- 20:22[SPEAKER_01]: All you have to do is search 49ers rush on any of the tick pick sights, apps, you name it, and on top of all of that.
- 20:30[SPEAKER_01]: best dressed, giveaways, autographed jerseys, kids are always included and get in for free with a ticketed adult.
- 20:37[SPEAKER_01]: And a lot of times for select cities, we will have 49ers legends come out and you get to meet and greet them and get autographed.
- 20:44[SPEAKER_01]: Vorrow Bowman, Frank Gore, Patrick Willis, Fred Warner, are all players that we have worked with in the past and trust me.
- 20:50[SPEAKER_01]: If you want to build the 49ers community, you're traveling by yourself, we got you covered 49ers
- 21:03[SPEAKER_01]: All right, number 81, newest 49er, Jumar Jefferson.
- 21:10[SPEAKER_01]: Fun name, I like that.
- 21:12[SPEAKER_01]: Angry, plays angry.
- 21:15[SPEAKER_01]: I, in my quest to differentiate these two running backs, five 10, two, 12, like a shorter but thicker.
- 21:25[SPEAKER_01]: He's me, man.
- 21:27[SPEAKER_01]: his tape is just attitude that's what I mean that this he's just he's a mean player and it comes across the tape which I really really do like and I put tomorrow Jefferson higher because he was drafted seventh round um and because I think he's you know played a little bit more he's played more games
- 21:47[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not sure he's better athlete.
- 21:50[SPEAKER_01]: Well, this is dive into it.
- 21:51[SPEAKER_01]: 510 to 12, just turn 26.
- 21:53[SPEAKER_01]: He's younger too, a four year younger, 11 months younger.
- 21:56[SPEAKER_01]: Went to Oregon State, another West Coast guys.
- 21:59[SPEAKER_01]: He was the pack 12 offensive freshman of the year for the entire.
- 22:03[SPEAKER_01]: You know, way back, whatever it uses, not the pack too anymore.
- 22:08[SPEAKER_01]: He had 1380 yards as a freshman with 12 touchdowns.
- 22:11[SPEAKER_01]: He had two four touchdown games for Oregon State to bevers.
- 22:15[SPEAKER_01]: The problem was he never replicated that got worse and worse.
- 22:18[SPEAKER_01]: Never got over a thousand yards or double digit touchdowns again in the season.
- 22:22[SPEAKER_01]: He's from Los Angeles, went to Harbor City and led them to a state title.
- 22:26[SPEAKER_01]: He was a stud in a high school.
- 22:29[SPEAKER_01]: His nickname is Monchi.
- 22:31[SPEAKER_01]: He kind of, as championed that, that's his Twitter handle and all that kind of stuff.
- 22:35[SPEAKER_01]: He was a seventh round pick, 257 in 2021, third to last pick, you know, not quite,
- 22:45[SPEAKER_01]: Not quite Mr.
- 22:48[SPEAKER_01]: Relevant.
- 22:48[SPEAKER_01]: Sorry, I was like, what is it?
- 22:50[SPEAKER_01]: When a full round later, Elijah Mitchell went in the sixth round that year.
- 22:53[SPEAKER_01]: And I just didn't have a seventh round pick in 2021.
- 22:56[SPEAKER_01]: He went a full round later than that.
- 22:58[SPEAKER_01]: Ran a four, six.
- 22:59[SPEAKER_01]: And you know, this is, you know, a pro day guy, combine guy.
- 23:03[SPEAKER_01]: You look up his spider chart.
- 23:04[SPEAKER_01]: It's one of the worst of ever seen.
- 23:06[SPEAKER_01]: He's not athlete.
- 23:07[SPEAKER_01]: He's a better football player than athlete.
- 23:14[SPEAKER_01]: Anger like dude just needs a Snickers you know what I mean like the don't don't get angry This dude's just hangry all the time and he's had a crazy career He comes out in 2021 Gits playing time and then no action for two years so as a rookie he makes the team Gits
- 23:35[SPEAKER_01]: Subcarries special teams mostly and then for two years nothing.
- 23:39[SPEAKER_01]: I can't find entry stuff on them.
- 23:41[SPEAKER_01]: No clue what happened 2022 2023 just vanished And it goes back the Lions bring him back and it gets probably his best year in 2024 He's played in career 17 games 21 rush tips for 96 yards two touchdowns five receptions on six targets Lot smaller receiving sample size, but five out of six ain't bad for 33 yards 25 special team snaps
- 24:05[SPEAKER_01]: Um, you know, watching Jamar Jefferson, it's just like, I could point my finger and say, yeah, angry, nobody wants to tackle them, whenever I'm looking at a Jordan man, so I'm like, well, he can do everything.
- 24:25[SPEAKER_01]: He, he, he's better on routes.
- 24:28[SPEAKER_01]: He short yardage is kind of his thing.
- 24:31[SPEAKER_01]: I don't think either one of these guys are going to make the roster, but you need a depth and you got depth.
- 24:38[SPEAKER_01]: You got two running backs now that have experienced in the NFL multiple teams, they're slower.
- 24:45[SPEAKER_01]: But you got some thumpers in there.
- 24:47[SPEAKER_01]: Man, it'd be nice to have a short yard is back.
- 24:49[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, use one.
- 24:51[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe tomorrow, Jefferson or Jordan Mims can become that.
- 24:55[SPEAKER_01]: Thomas, do you think?
- 24:56[SPEAKER_01]: If Mims somehow scores a touchdown, they'll play this.
- 25:01[SPEAKER_01]: This is why I'm not.
- 25:03[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, that's awesome.
- 25:04[SPEAKER_01]: Where's where's the way he could I don't want to butcher it, but I love it.
- 25:08[SPEAKER_01]: I love it.
- 25:09[SPEAKER_01]: So yeah, that's short.
- 25:10[SPEAKER_01]: Admitted Jamar Jefferson.
- 25:11[SPEAKER_01]: The two newest 49ers.
- 25:13[SPEAKER_01]: So now we know a little bit.
- 25:14[SPEAKER_01]: Just angry, bowling ball, short, stubby, stocky.
- 25:20[SPEAKER_01]: run in backs as well they are as well they are now their kid team comes in at number 80 on the four dinners roster countdown and again our whole criteria who makes the biggest impact this season alone not about the future.
- 25:34[SPEAKER_01]: Josh Benzack and myself, we ranked one through 91.
- 25:37[SPEAKER_01]: We compile, we average, and that gives us our list.
- 25:40[SPEAKER_01]: Derek canteen is up eight spots from last year.
- 25:44[SPEAKER_01]: Eight spots, he was 88 last year.
- 25:46[SPEAKER_01]: And like the thing about him, safety, former rookie tryout player that won a spot and stuck with the team all year.
- 25:56[SPEAKER_01]: His goal last year, Derek canteen, the safety, just make the practice squad.
- 26:01[SPEAKER_01]: Not only do you make the practice squad,
- 26:05[SPEAKER_01]: and they brought them back.
- 26:06[SPEAKER_01]: Like, this is an NFL underdog success story.
- 26:10[SPEAKER_01]: No one's gonna know about it.
- 26:13[SPEAKER_01]: Did like rookie try out and with the team for a full year now?
- 26:18[SPEAKER_01]: Where's Jersey number 40, respect?
- 26:19[SPEAKER_01]: I wore 40 in high school.
- 26:22[SPEAKER_01]: 511197, that ideal kind of build for 49ers defense back is 25 years old.
- 26:29[SPEAKER_01]: Played at Georgia Southern for three years transferred to Virginia Tech and transferred to Cincinnati.
- 26:34[SPEAKER_01]: So you got three separate schools, whatever else.
- 26:37[SPEAKER_01]: Went to Evans High School in Georgia.
- 26:39[SPEAKER_01]: And this is important, dual enrollment at Georgia Military College while in high school.
- 26:45[SPEAKER_01]: 49ers love those disciplined, you know, those those those guys, this is one of those guys it's easy to see why they fell in love with Derek canteen military dude doing all the extra you got to love it all that he's got that in spades with six year player in college and he tied for the
- 27:07[SPEAKER_01]: NCAA lead for interceptions when he ever six and 20 20 as a long time ago.
- 27:13[SPEAKER_01]: He goes to Cincinnati becomes a captain before he takes a snap there.
- 27:17[SPEAKER_01]: Like that's this type of guy, OSA type of character guy, right?
- 27:21[SPEAKER_01]: Now obviously he's not a starter or going to be a team captain here, but hey, who knows, maybe one day.
- 27:27[SPEAKER_01]: Wasn't on any consensus big boards coming out of the draft sign is an undrafted free age after rookie tryouts was cut, but then brought back It was a member of the entire time and you look at what do you make?
- 27:40[SPEAKER_01]: In the NFL if you're on the practice squad and never get called up 234 thousand that's what you make a year So 200 grand love it good for him
- 27:50[SPEAKER_01]: never got called up to play in a game.
- 27:53[SPEAKER_01]: That wasn't there, but he's got ball skills and you look at that safety room.
- 27:57[SPEAKER_01]: It's light.
- 27:58[SPEAKER_01]: There are three light position groups.
- 28:01[SPEAKER_01]: Safety, running back, which we just talked about and tied in.
- 28:05[SPEAKER_01]: Those are the three.
- 28:05[SPEAKER_01]: Now, if you're looking at NFL value, guess which are the three lowest paid rooms in the NFL.
- 28:13[SPEAKER_01]: Safety,
- 28:15[SPEAKER_01]: running back tight ends.
- 28:17[SPEAKER_01]: So the premium positions they're loaded up on and these positions that the NFL says is not quote unquote valuable or profitable or you know price high.
- 28:27[SPEAKER_01]: Niners shrugged their shoulders at it.
- 28:29[SPEAKER_01]: That's just what it is.
- 28:30[SPEAKER_01]: So the safety room.
- 28:31[SPEAKER_01]: You got malgonstoff, a giant brown marquee seagull, Sarah Nill who's more of a special teams guy.
- 28:38[SPEAKER_01]: And then you've got our guy, Derek Cantine and Patrick McMores.
- 28:41[SPEAKER_01]: Derek Forest was on this list.
- 28:44[SPEAKER_01]: Now he's on IR.
- 28:46[SPEAKER_01]: So that room was like, just got lighter, just got lighter.
- 28:50[SPEAKER_01]: But your top three really top four, which is really all you're going to keep for your 53 man roster with Mustafa Brown, Siegel and Sierra Nill, that's kind of set.
- 29:00[SPEAKER_01]: Derek can't team, what does he got to do?
- 29:02[SPEAKER_01]: Ben, just nailed down that spot again as the top safety special team stud.
- 29:09[SPEAKER_01]: You know, on the practice squad, and maybe get called up this year.
- 29:12[SPEAKER_01]: That's the goal.
- 29:14[SPEAKER_01]: How cool.
- 29:14[SPEAKER_01]: I want to tell you this.
- 29:15[SPEAKER_01]: When you see 40 out there, Derek can't team.
- 29:18[SPEAKER_01]: If he ever plays the NFL snap, I want you to remember this because you're going to be like, oh, that was that dude rookie try out, hung out for a full year came back.
- 29:27[SPEAKER_01]: Now the student playing it like that is cool.
- 29:29[SPEAKER_01]: He'll, man, and I understand if talking about the number 80th player on the 49ers roster isn't your gym, I get that.
- 29:39[SPEAKER_01]: But these dudes are living dreams, man.
- 29:41[SPEAKER_01]: They are living dreams.
- 29:44[SPEAKER_01]: And I am a dairy canteen fan.
- 29:47[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not quite sure what else to say besides that.
- 29:52[SPEAKER_01]: Such a freaking stud, such a stud.
- 29:55[SPEAKER_01]: Now, let's get to number 79, Brandon Parker, offensive tackle.
- 30:00[SPEAKER_01]: Now before we get there, I forgot to say, we do have another Deshawn Stribbling tape up on the 49ers rush.com and our Patreon channel.
- 30:08[SPEAKER_01]: We have,
- 30:10[SPEAKER_01]: full film breakdowns all 22 tape on the entirety of the 49ers rookie class.
- 30:15[SPEAKER_01]: We're going through round two now.
- 30:17[SPEAKER_01]: So we got multiple games.
- 30:19[SPEAKER_01]: We have Deshawn Striplin.
- 30:20[SPEAKER_01]: I went to his 2024 tape Washington state.
- 30:23[SPEAKER_01]: Translate so much better for the 49ers.
- 30:26[SPEAKER_01]: You see dig routes, slant routes.
- 30:29[SPEAKER_01]: It's still a stretch to the 49ers system.
- 30:34[SPEAKER_01]: But I'm telling you right now, like 20, 24 tape for the Sean Stripling is much more translatable to the 49ers, because they run actual route tree.
- 30:38[SPEAKER_01]: It's not just all hitches, hitches, hitches, hitches, hitches, hitches, hitches, hitches, hitches, hitches, hitches, hitches, hitches, hitches, hitches, hitches, hitches, hitches, hitches, hitches, hitches, hitches, hitches, hitches, hitches, hitches, hitches, hitches, hitches, hitches, hitches, hitches, hitches, hitches, hitches, hitches, hitches, hitches, hitches, hitches, hitches, hitches, hitches, hitches, hitches, hitches, hitches, hitches, hitches, hitches, hitches, hitches, hitches, hitches, hitches, hitches, hitches, hitches, hitches
- 30:55[SPEAKER_01]: we'll see how it goes.
- 30:57[SPEAKER_01]: We'll see how it goes.
- 30:58[SPEAKER_01]: Anyway, right here, Devs are amazing how running backs are so underrated, but trying to play without one and see what happens.
- 31:05[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, Shanna hit is tied to the running back position more than any other coach.
- 31:08[SPEAKER_01]: What's just crazy when you think about his dad, right?
- 31:10[SPEAKER_01]: His dad didn't care.
- 31:11[SPEAKER_01]: He just, I don't care.
- 31:12[SPEAKER_01]: Undructured free agents throw him out there.
- 31:14[SPEAKER_01]: Hey, Kyle Shanna handed it to you with Alfred Morris, right?
- 31:17[SPEAKER_01]: I think he was a six-rounder Matt Brida.
- 31:18[SPEAKER_01]: He's done it with that before, but
- 31:21[SPEAKER_01]: Man, when he doesn't have a running back, he likes that shenny hand system just goes, put really, really quick.
- 31:27[SPEAKER_01]: David, appreciate you, man.
- 31:28[SPEAKER_01]: This is the kind of content I was desperate for as a kid during the office.
- 31:33[SPEAKER_01]: I know, man.
- 31:35[SPEAKER_01]: Dude, I remember what we would do.
- 31:39[SPEAKER_01]: We would get our playing cards, right?
- 31:42[SPEAKER_01]: Because Ben, we would walk me and my brother we walked down to the movie winner, rental and river oats.
- 31:46[SPEAKER_01]: It was about 2.2 miles away.
- 31:49[SPEAKER_01]: We'd walked down there and they had street fighter and cards.
- 31:53[SPEAKER_01]: That's what we would just hang out there all day.
- 31:56[SPEAKER_01]: And whenever we had money, we'd buy a pack of cards and I just memorized the stats on the back of the card.
- 32:02[SPEAKER_01]: Like that's what we would do.
- 32:04[SPEAKER_01]: Oh yeah, he averaged 4.7 yards per carry back at you know, whatever it was.
- 32:10[SPEAKER_01]: Now it's a little bit different.
- 32:12[SPEAKER_01]: There's so much content out to you talking about Niners all day and that's a beautiful thing as a beautiful thing.
- 32:18[SPEAKER_01]: I am very thankful.
- 32:20[SPEAKER_01]: that there are people, you are the people I am referring to, people that care.
- 32:27[SPEAKER_01]: I never knew this would be by job or my career, but here we are.
- 32:31[SPEAKER_01]: How many episodes are we at?
- 32:35[SPEAKER_01]: 1652 but stupid but stupid awesome and the only reason why we can do that is because of you.
- 32:44[SPEAKER_01]: So thank you for watching, listening, however it is hit subscribe if you haven't yet.
- 32:49[SPEAKER_01]: Help us out.
- 32:50[SPEAKER_01]: Number 79 on this roster countdown Brandon Parker offensive tackle.
- 32:55[SPEAKER_01]: It leaked size dudes of behemoth 6 8 3 20.
- 33:00[SPEAKER_01]: and experience.
- 33:01[SPEAKER_01]: This guy has played a lot of football in his career and I mean he's an athlete with huge arms.
- 33:08[SPEAKER_01]: Paris Johnson is a junior as his closest comp on mocktraffable.com 79% athletic matchup.
- 33:16[SPEAKER_01]: 6 8 320 like this dude is bigger than Trent Williams.
- 33:20[SPEAKER_01]: High-wise lengthwise now.
- 33:22[SPEAKER_01]: He's not trembling.
- 33:23[SPEAKER_01]: I'm saying he's not Paris Johnson junior.
- 33:25[SPEAKER_01]: He's 30 years old and he's just played a lot of football.
- 33:28[SPEAKER_01]: Came out of North Carolina, A&T.
- 33:32[SPEAKER_01]: Sorry, I apologize.
- 33:45[SPEAKER_01]: Brandon Parker was drafted ahead of Fred Warner and that not trying to like shame Brandon Parker by any stretch Man, dude, a Hall of Famer got picked after you like you like that just puts the draft into perspective right like yeah, hopefully that Hopefully that makes sense
- 34:10[SPEAKER_01]: born and raised in canapolis, North Carolina went to AL Brown High School was not recruit out of high school at all.
- 34:17[SPEAKER_01]: It was tall and skinny kid, but you know, had a good college career, led to them being drafted in the third round by the Oakland Raiders.
- 34:26[SPEAKER_01]: He was 60 fifth overall.
- 34:27[SPEAKER_01]: You're talking top of the third round.
- 34:30[SPEAKER_01]: Um, but what he did at the college level, you know, this was before NIL, obviously three time meac offensive linemen the year never allowed a second college three times three seasons never never gave a set never incredible.
- 34:48[SPEAKER_01]: Um, was a solid player in the NFL and he played a lot like like this guy played 59 games like this is a player that has played football
- 34:59[SPEAKER_01]: Was the solid player kind of lost this job bounced around a little bit and, you know, he's been with the Raiders, the Falcons, the 49ers, and this is his second stint with the 49ers.
- 35:12[SPEAKER_01]: He was on the team back at 2024 in the practice squad in the middle of the season.
- 35:16[SPEAKER_01]: They cut them.
- 35:17[SPEAKER_01]: Wasn't with us for a year than they brought them back.
- 35:20[SPEAKER_01]: So they've seen them.
- 35:20[SPEAKER_01]: They're familiar with them.
- 35:21[SPEAKER_01]: They like them.
- 35:22[SPEAKER_01]: 33 starts going into his
- 35:27[SPEAKER_01]: Best year was back in 2020 when he started 13 games.
- 35:30[SPEAKER_01]: Just kind of has been a swing tackle.
- 35:32[SPEAKER_01]: That's his job.
- 35:33[SPEAKER_01]: So he's the number three to number four tackle One start in 2024 for the 49ers that was about it.
- 35:41[SPEAKER_01]: And it's just another veteran offensive tackle Enrique Cruz probably going to take his job.
- 35:48[SPEAKER_01]: This is just what it is, but this is a guy Brandon Parkett has made $10.4 million
- 35:55[SPEAKER_01]: That is a win, ladies and gentlemen, one of us wins.
- 35:58[SPEAKER_01]: We all win.
- 35:59[SPEAKER_01]: That is generational wealth.
- 36:01[SPEAKER_01]: Hopefully he takes care of it and puts it to good use.
- 36:04[SPEAKER_01]: He signed a one year, $1.2 million deal with the 49ers and no guarantees and with the way Austin Pleasant played like, let's just go through the depth chart of tackle, trying Williams called to me, kivets, the Darian low, Enrique Cruz.
- 36:19[SPEAKER_01]: Those guys are making the roster.
- 36:20[SPEAKER_01]: Those are the four.
- 36:22[SPEAKER_01]: So Austin Plaza's bread of parkers, Zach Thomas, Isaac Calica, like there's a lot of odd men out.
- 36:28[SPEAKER_01]: I would not be shocked if a transaction is made where you lose the tackle and you bring in a running back, tight end or safety.
- 36:38[SPEAKER_01]: But you can't do that because Trent Williams is not here and Trent Williams don't practice on Wednesdays.
- 36:43[SPEAKER_01]: A lot of times Trent Williams don't practice on Thursdays.
- 36:46[SPEAKER_01]: So you gotta have guys that get reps there
- 36:52[SPEAKER_01]: you're offensive, you know, practice.
- 36:55[SPEAKER_01]: So like you can't just throw Joe Schmo in there at left tackle.
- 36:59[SPEAKER_01]: Well, Brandon Parker's not Joe Schmo.
- 37:01[SPEAKER_01]: There's a $10 million man with played in 59 games at left tackle.
- 37:06[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, do you want him starting?
- 37:07[SPEAKER_01]: Do you want him to be really even your backup?
- 37:09[SPEAKER_01]: No, but this is somebody that's played a lot of football.
- 37:13[SPEAKER_01]: that you could put in there and just say, look, Trent's not in, maybe something veterinary loguids being dumped or he's playing right tackle or whatever.
- 37:22[SPEAKER_01]: Let this guy go in there and he's gonna be just fine with the number two's, he's not gonna get Macchones injured.
- 37:28[SPEAKER_01]: It, you know, what's it called?
- 37:30[SPEAKER_01]: Intersquared squimage or joint practices or whatever else.
- 37:35[SPEAKER_01]: So that's where it is.
- 37:36[SPEAKER_01]: And yeah, Defts are, it is kind of crazy.
- 37:39[SPEAKER_01]: being drafted ahead of Fred Warner.
- 37:40[SPEAKER_01]: Like, could you imagine telling your great kids actually got drafted ahead of Fred Warner?
- 37:44[SPEAKER_01]: Well, sub 916, appreciate you, man.
- 37:46[SPEAKER_01]: Thomas, cards and video games laid my whole groundwork from memorizing player stats.
- 37:52[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, my gosh, dude.
- 37:54[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, whenever... Yeah, video games are where it's at, man.
- 38:00[SPEAKER_01]: I would...
- 38:03[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 38:04[SPEAKER_01]: Video games are where it's at.
- 38:06[SPEAKER_01]: I love it, man.
- 38:06[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, what's up, Shannon?
- 38:07[SPEAKER_01]: Appreciate you.
- 38:08[SPEAKER_01]: It's so wonderful to see you.
- 38:09[SPEAKER_01]: We love you, too.
- 38:09[SPEAKER_01]: We love you, too.
- 38:10[SPEAKER_01]: All right.
- 38:11[SPEAKER_01]: Let's get to our last player on today's roster count down.
- 38:13[SPEAKER_01]: Number 78, Bryson Eason, fun player.
- 38:19[SPEAKER_01]: Priority free-age this year for the 49ers defensive tackle huge.
- 38:23[SPEAKER_01]: Now there's nobody else in this roster that looks like this guy.
- 38:27[SPEAKER_01]: Six, two, three, twenty, three.
- 38:29[SPEAKER_01]: This is the Earl Mitchell, right?
- 38:31[SPEAKER_01]: Like they used to have this guy, this build on the roster, haven't had it recently.
- 38:37[SPEAKER_01]: Big O do durable.
- 38:39[SPEAKER_01]: He plays a lot of football.
- 38:41[SPEAKER_01]: Jersey number 67 for the 49ers, which like you watch his tape at Tennessee.
- 38:47[SPEAKER_01]: This was the guy that was recruited to play Mike Linebacker to Tennessee.
- 38:51[SPEAKER_01]: Now, and he wore Jersey number 20, which is cool in and of itself.
- 38:56[SPEAKER_01]: But how big was he?
- 38:57[SPEAKER_01]: I got it right.
- 38:58[SPEAKER_01]: He was a 265 pound Mike Linebacker.
- 39:02[SPEAKER_01]: That's insane.
- 39:04[SPEAKER_01]: Then they moved them to outside kind of linebacker rusher than defensive end, the defensive tackle.
- 39:10[SPEAKER_01]: And that's where he should be.
- 39:11[SPEAKER_01]: Six, two, three, twenty, three, where Jersey number 20 is hilarious.
- 39:15[SPEAKER_01]: It's pretty fun to look at.
- 39:17[SPEAKER_01]: You pull up the tape and you're just like, wait, to say what?
- 39:20[SPEAKER_01]: They're gonna put a runny back over there.
- 39:22[SPEAKER_01]: Uh, but anyway, 24 years old, he played at Tennessee for five consecutive years didn't transfer.
- 39:30[SPEAKER_01]: He attended white haven high school, played linebacker, won all state honors twice.
- 39:36[SPEAKER_01]: Started as a started varsity as a freshman on a six A Tennessee undefeated team.
- 39:42[SPEAKER_01]: It was finalist for Mr. this Mr. Tennessee is finalist for it.
- 39:46[SPEAKER_01]: Not a small school like you're talking six A state champs undefeated.
- 39:51[SPEAKER_01]: This dude was alpha as alpha gets in the state of Tennessee and he was good and the problem You can't have the same amount of sacks whenever you start every single game is john Chapman when john Chapman don't play And so here is the problem with Bryson season he's huge he's a damn good player never been injured place every single game ever
- 40:18[SPEAKER_01]: eight of bring anything in pass rush in the today's NFL pass rush is key you can be a plugger for two downs sometimes
- 40:28[SPEAKER_01]: And that's kind of the problem with pricing these.
- 40:31[SPEAKER_01]: It's because he doesn't bring anything to the past Rush game at all.
- 40:35[SPEAKER_01]: You just really, really don't.
- 40:36[SPEAKER_01]: But he started 13 games at Tennessee three consecutive seasons in a row.
- 40:41[SPEAKER_01]: Like this dude, you just plug them in, graduated with the degree in communications.
- 40:45[SPEAKER_01]: He loved to hear that, obviously communications key for just defense and team football in general.
- 40:53[SPEAKER_01]: I did not
- 40:54[SPEAKER_01]: do a draft write up, you know, we did 200 and about 20 something.
- 40:59[SPEAKER_01]: He went one of them.
- 41:00[SPEAKER_01]: Dane Brugler with the athletic had a six round grade on him and said, quote, Eastern needs to become a more instinctive and technically consistent player, but he has the talent to serve multiple roles.
- 41:12[SPEAKER_01]: Though I don't see a super high ceiling, he can provide scheme
- 41:22[SPEAKER_01]: Change to direction and speed are completely absent.
- 41:25[SPEAKER_01]: It's not there.
- 41:26[SPEAKER_01]: He goes, he's a rhino.
- 41:28[SPEAKER_01]: He's going one way.
- 41:30[SPEAKER_01]: If it's a counter, no, counter him out.
- 41:34[SPEAKER_01]: It's not there.
- 41:36[SPEAKER_01]: If he gets it right early, then he can have success in the run game.
- 41:40[SPEAKER_01]: It great use of hands, power, durability is as great as asset.
- 41:43[SPEAKER_01]: Like I said, just a plugger in the middle.
- 41:46[SPEAKER_01]: Two down player at best can't really use them on special teams.
- 41:52[SPEAKER_01]: Use them on gold line packages only like like that's the problem.
- 41:56[SPEAKER_01]: The scene lean Just not there for price in season, but man, you know, fun player you play 546 NAF slash like that's a lot of snaps 61 career college games 105 tackles 22 tackle for losses in his career four and a half sex none of those came last year
- 42:16[SPEAKER_01]: None of those came last year.
- 42:17[SPEAKER_01]: That's the killer.
- 42:19[SPEAKER_01]: And got no guarantees.
- 42:20[SPEAKER_01]: He signed a three year 3.1 million dollar pretty standard minimum priority free agent role, but with no guarantees.
- 42:28[SPEAKER_01]: And the problem with pricing these in is there was another priority free agent signed at the same position with the largest guarantee that they offered anybody the 49ers are known as a very, very cheap franchise whenever it comes to priority free agents.
- 42:43[SPEAKER_01]: I think it was Spotrack put out the list of how much money was dived up to priority free agents that weren't drafted free agents 49ers for 28 out of 32 teams.
- 42:54[SPEAKER_01]: They are every year, in my opinion, Larry Kruger says this as well, this is one of the cheapest ways to go out there and help your team, but the Niners just do not spend here.
- 43:07[SPEAKER_01]: They pick one or two players and that's it.
- 43:10[SPEAKER_01]: And I think that that is a miss, but you look at the defensive tackle room, talk about a completely overhaul.
- 43:16[SPEAKER_01]: I am so proud of what the 49ers have created.
- 43:19[SPEAKER_01]: Now, you got to see if it works.
- 43:21[SPEAKER_01]: Also, Diggy Zua, Alfred Collins, one of my favorite players, CJ West, Grace and Houghton.
- 43:26[SPEAKER_01]: That is a badass for.
- 43:28[SPEAKER_01]: That is a young.
- 43:30[SPEAKER_01]: Also, it's only 28.
- 43:33[SPEAKER_01]: Sebastian Valdez Evan Anderson James Thompson Jr.
- 43:36[SPEAKER_01]: He's the priority fridge.
- 43:37[SPEAKER_01]: They got the huge signing bonus, and then Bryce and Ethan.
- 43:40[SPEAKER_01]: You got eight guys Now, Bryce and Ethan has to pass Evan Anderson for that plug-a-roll Evan Anderson's played a lot of good football.
- 43:48[SPEAKER_01]: We played a lot of good football It's gonna be hard to pass of but you know, I like this player these are the type of signings where I'm just like, oh nice Like, too.
- 43:59[SPEAKER_01]: There's a roll.
- 44:00[SPEAKER_01]: He's durable
- 44:02[SPEAKER_01]: Tell me you don't like that, and he gets stopped to run.
- 44:05[SPEAKER_01]: That's what he can do.
- 44:06[SPEAKER_01]: You got him for free?
- 44:08[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe something comes out.
- 44:09[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe he shines.
- 44:10[SPEAKER_01]: It says something for somebody that's played that much football on the SEC.
- 44:14[SPEAKER_01]: Hopefully that comes through.
- 44:16[SPEAKER_01]: So that's going to do it for our episode.
- 44:18[SPEAKER_01]: Today we got some nuggets on Kyle Shinyan's presser.
- 44:21[SPEAKER_01]: And we got five new 49ers players added to the roster count down number 82 Jordan Mims.
- 44:28[SPEAKER_01]: Number 81, Jamar Jefferson, the two new added running backs.
- 44:30[SPEAKER_01]: Number 80, Derek Cantine, the rookie tri-out, hold over 79, Brandon Parker.
- 44:35[SPEAKER_01]: You got a veteran offensive tackle that's huge.
- 44:37[SPEAKER_01]: It's 78, priority free agent, price and eason.
- 44:41[SPEAKER_01]: Got some vets, got some youngsters.
- 44:46[SPEAKER_01]: fun episode, thank you guys, hopefully you enjoyed this and until next time, stay strong, faithful.
