- 0:10Speaker 1: Hey, everybody, it is time for the freshest edition of
- 0:12Speaker 1: Birds Are Weekly presented by the Inside the Birds Network
- 0:15Speaker 1: for my colleague and friend Ray. Didn't John, Derek Gunn
- 0:18Speaker 1: and Ray. Nobody, and I mean nobody saw what happened
- 0:23Speaker 1: on Sunday coming, especially after the Eagles jump out to
- 0:27Speaker 1: a twenty one nothing lead. First three possessions, Ray, they
- 0:30Speaker 1: scored touchdowns, They had Jalen at twelve of seventeen, one
- 0:34Speaker 1: hundred and fifty seven yards. I mean, they were rolling,
- 0:38Speaker 1: they were rolling, Ray, and you're thinking, this is going
- 0:40Speaker 1: to be one of the most epic blowouts in the
- 0:43Speaker 1: history of an Eagles Cowboys series. And then all of
- 0:47Speaker 1: a sudden, Rayy, all of our hopes, all of our dreams,
- 0:52Speaker 1: all of ours which just go down the toilet. First
- 0:54Speaker 1: of all, your impressions of the way this Eagles often
- 0:57Speaker 1: started out the first three because it looked to me
- 1:03Speaker 1: in the first three possessions like they were finally, finally
- 1:07Speaker 1: and this was like looking like a playoff offense.
- 1:12Speaker 2: Uh, yes and no, yes and no in this sense.
- 1:18Speaker 3: You look at the scoreboard that says twenty one to nothing, yea,
- 1:21Speaker 3: and the first thing you think is, oh my god,
- 1:23Speaker 3: the offense has has found the key and.
- 1:25Speaker 2: They've unlocked the door.
- 1:27Speaker 3: Uh, but you look at the three you look at
- 1:30Speaker 3: the three drive, you look at the three scoring.
- 1:32Speaker 2: Drives, and they weren't really drives. Yeah.
- 1:35Speaker 3: The first the first one, the Cowboys coach. Cowboys coach
- 1:39Speaker 3: makes the decision, they're at midfield, he's going to go
- 1:41Speaker 3: for it and fourth down and they get stopped, and
- 1:45Speaker 3: so the Eagles get the ball at midfield, so short field.
- 1:48Speaker 2: That's seven nothing, second.
- 1:50Speaker 3: Possession, they're they're about to go three and out, and
- 1:54Speaker 3: they get rough on the kicker and they get new life.
- 1:57Speaker 2: They get the ball back and then they take that
- 1:59Speaker 2: in and score.
- 2:00Speaker 3: And the third one comes off the fumble where they
- 2:03Speaker 3: again they got a short field, they take it in. So, yes,
- 2:06Speaker 3: it's twenty one nothing, but it doesn't it doesn't tell
- 2:10Speaker 3: you that these were not three twelve plays eighty r drives.
- 2:16Speaker 3: You know, they got some opportunities and they got a
- 2:18Speaker 3: couple of breaks.
- 2:19Speaker 2: They took advantage of them.
- 2:20Speaker 3: But it isn't like all of a sudden the offense
- 2:23Speaker 3: found itself. You know, they got opportunities and they took
- 2:25Speaker 3: advantage of them, but there wasn't like all of a
- 2:29Speaker 3: sudden the wow, this thing is really rolling now, yeah,
- 2:31Speaker 3: scoreboard would say that, but they got some things that
- 2:34Speaker 3: kind of fell in their lap and it took advantage
- 2:36Speaker 3: of them. But once you got past that, then the
- 2:40Speaker 3: offense essentially disappeared, right, And that's kind and that's kind
- 2:44Speaker 3: of the way it's been all year with this team.
- 2:46Speaker 1: Ray, I was trying to be optimistic and you just
- 2:48Speaker 1: burst my bubble completely. You just killed my happy moment, right,
- 2:53Speaker 1: But I have to agree with you one hundred percent.
- 2:56Speaker 1: I mean, you know, and then early on in the game,
- 2:58Speaker 1: they get ag involved. You know, I thought as the
- 3:01Speaker 1: game wore on, they tried to involve him a little
- 3:03Speaker 1: too much, but they got him. They got him more
- 3:07Speaker 1: involved in the game because the Cowboys were giving him
- 3:09Speaker 1: seven to ten yards cushion. It was obvious early on
- 3:12Speaker 1: that they were a little bit afraid, I want to say,
- 3:16Speaker 1: of what a j possibly possibly could do to them.
- 3:20Speaker 3: Yeah, it's it did seem that way, and the Eagles
- 3:23Speaker 3: did take advantage of it, and it was very clear
- 3:26Speaker 3: the part of the game plan was to get him
- 3:28Speaker 3: involved early, which to me makes perfect sense.
- 3:31Speaker 2: I mean, he's you know, I mean, he's that kind
- 3:33Speaker 2: of a player.
- 3:34Speaker 3: You want to get him involved, you want to make
- 3:37Speaker 3: him a bigger part of the offense. And the Eagles
- 3:39Speaker 3: had that opportunity and they did do that. But you know,
- 3:43Speaker 3: as as this whole season has unfolded, this was just
- 3:48Speaker 3: another chapter, you know, I mean, it was another one
- 3:51Speaker 3: where the offense, the execution of it, the play calling,
- 3:58Speaker 3: the overall application of it. I mean, it just it
- 4:03Speaker 3: just it's baffling, you know. I mean, I think I'm oversimplifying.
- 4:08Speaker 3: I don't know that it is all that baffling in
- 4:11Speaker 3: this respect. I really do think not the entirety of
- 4:15Speaker 3: the problem, but a lot of the problem.
- 4:18Speaker 2: You just take it back to the offensive line. You
- 4:20Speaker 2: really do, you really do?
- 4:22Speaker 3: I mean, you compare this offensive line as largely the
- 4:27Speaker 3: same guys that this offensive line this season to last season.
- 4:33Speaker 3: It's totally totally different and they're trying to do a
- 4:37Speaker 3: lot of the same things. They're trying to be basically
- 4:40Speaker 3: the same kind of offense, but the offensive line they're
- 4:44Speaker 3: playing essentially with a different offensive line. I mean, that's
- 4:47Speaker 3: and that's where everything is kind of breaking down. And
- 4:50Speaker 3: I don't know this deep into the season, Derek, how
- 4:54Speaker 3: much you'll be able to fix it.
- 4:55Speaker 2: You know, I really don't.
- 4:56Speaker 3: It's not like, oh yeah, they'll tweak a couple of things,
- 4:58Speaker 3: and you know they'll figure that. Well, you know, here
- 5:02Speaker 3: we are, we're eleven weeks in Thanksgivings coming up. I
- 5:07Speaker 3: don't know if there's all of a sudden that the
- 5:08Speaker 3: light's gonna come on. I think this is what they're
- 5:11Speaker 3: gonna be the rest of the way.
- 5:12Speaker 4: Hey, one thing that always scares me is the latest
- 5:15Speaker 4: financial scam. And with the holidays, it's all about finding
- 5:18Speaker 4: the perfect gift. But this time of the year, not
- 5:20Speaker 4: every deal is actually what it seems. You've got these

- 6:25Speaker 1: I agree with you one hundred percent. I don't think
- 6:27Speaker 1: at this stage of the season it's it's a fix it.
- 6:31Speaker 1: I don't think it's a tweak it. I think it's
- 6:34Speaker 1: we're going to have to keep doing what we're doing
- 6:36Speaker 1: and hope that it irons itself out. Because at this point,
- 6:41Speaker 1: you are what you are ray for the season. Every team,
- 6:43Speaker 1: whether you're a playoff contender or whether you're a team
- 6:46Speaker 1: jockeying for a position for the number one pick in
- 6:49Speaker 1: the twenty twenty six draft, you are what you are
- 6:52Speaker 1: at this point, and Eagles right now are what they
- 6:54Speaker 1: are I look at the way this game unfolded.
- 6:59Speaker 2: Ray.
- 6:59Speaker 1: But but this team is also, especially this offense is
- 7:03Speaker 1: a jackal and hide, and the defense kind of played
- 7:07Speaker 1: itself like that. Also the first half of this game,
- 7:11Speaker 1: when the Eagles wore up twenty one to nothing, the
- 7:13Speaker 1: Eagles had one hundred and eighty seven yards of offense.
- 7:16Speaker 1: Dallas had sixty yards of offense. When Dallas stopped kicking
- 7:21Speaker 1: themselves in the butt and they got that late touchdown
- 7:24Speaker 1: before the half ended, I'm looking at the halftime stats
- 7:27Speaker 1: and love and behold, Dallas has two hundred and eleven
- 7:30Speaker 1: yards of offense and the Eagles had one ninety six
- 7:34Speaker 1: when Dallas got that first testdown. Were you a little
- 7:36Speaker 1: bit concerned? Then? Yeah?
- 7:40Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean that's you're right. I mean that's exactly
- 7:43Speaker 2: how it was.
- 7:44Speaker 3: And you know, the there was a feeling there that
- 7:50Speaker 3: after at up twenty one to nothing, the offense began
- 7:53Speaker 3: coughing and sputtering.
- 7:54Speaker 2: You know, you saw it coming on. We've seen it
- 7:57Speaker 2: all year.
- 7:58Speaker 1: Uh.
- 7:59Speaker 3: And then Dallas got that last possession and they score
- 8:02Speaker 3: right before the half.
- 8:04Speaker 1: Uh, And.
- 8:06Speaker 3: You kind of got the feel and that gave them
- 8:07Speaker 3: a little something to you know, but the Eagles were
- 8:11Speaker 3: getting the ball to start the second half. So what
- 8:14Speaker 3: you're thinking is, okay, you know, Cowboys are kind of
- 8:17Speaker 3: back in the game. They got a little hope. But
- 8:21Speaker 3: the Eagles get the ball to start the second half.
- 8:23Speaker 3: They come out, they take control. Here, they take it down,
- 8:25Speaker 3: they score, they can put this thing back in order,
- 8:29Speaker 3: you know, and instead that first series of the second
- 8:34Speaker 3: half becomes a foreshadowing of everything that's going to happen.
- 8:36Speaker 3: I mean, you get the second play, you get a
- 8:39Speaker 3: completion on the first play that's uck Hertz throws past
- 8:44Speaker 3: the Calcutara, get eight yards. Okay, fine, second down they
- 8:49Speaker 3: run that real sweet little pass to Goddard, they get
- 8:53Speaker 3: some twenty and you think, okay, we're really rolling. And
- 8:56Speaker 3: now here it comes. Here's the flag and it's coming back,
- 9:00Speaker 3: and you know, Matt Pryor lines up incorrectly, so that
- 9:04Speaker 3: play comes back. Now instead of being you know, instead
- 9:07Speaker 3: of being down in Dallas territory for the first down,
- 9:11Speaker 3: now all of a sudden, you're facing a long yard
- 9:14Speaker 3: situation and you.
- 9:16Speaker 2: Wind up going three and out.
- 9:17Speaker 3: You give the ball back to the Cowboys, and all
- 9:19Speaker 3: of a sudden, it's the game again. That drive to
- 9:21Speaker 3: start the second half was really the Eagles opportunity to
- 9:25Speaker 3: kind of re establish control of the game, and they could.
- 9:28Speaker 3: It looked like they were getting ready to do that,
- 9:31Speaker 3: but a stupid penalty wipes out a big play. They
- 9:35Speaker 3: wind up, they don't get a first down, they have
- 9:37Speaker 3: to punt the ball back to the Cowboys, and the
- 9:40Speaker 3: Cowboys get the ball, and the rest of that half
- 9:42Speaker 3: was really kind of the Cowboys game. And I again,
- 9:46Speaker 3: it's not like it's something we haven't seen before. I mean,
- 9:49Speaker 3: that's been this offense just hurting itself one series after another.
- 9:55Speaker 3: You know, fourteen penalties ninety six yards. You can't win.
- 10:01Speaker 3: I mean you can't win playing that kind of football.
- 10:04Speaker 3: And it's not like, you know, it's not like it's, oh,
- 10:06Speaker 3: it was just one game. Why fourteen penalties? Yeah, it's
- 10:10Speaker 3: just one game is a bad game. No, They've been
- 10:12Speaker 3: doing this all along. I mean the first time they
- 10:14Speaker 3: played the Cowboys Week one, they had nine penalties. That
- 10:17Speaker 3: the Denver game that they blew when they had a
- 10:19Speaker 3: big lead, nine penalties. Last week it's a Lions nine penalties.
- 10:25Speaker 3: Had two other games with eight penalties. So this game
- 10:29Speaker 3: was not just a one off. It wasn't just one
- 10:31Speaker 3: of those. Oh man, that was one of those days. No, no, no, no,
- 10:34Speaker 3: I mean them been doing this week after week, getting
- 10:37Speaker 3: away with it very often, but this week they did.
- 10:40Speaker 4: Hey it's Jeff Mosher. And if you have a family
- 10:42Speaker 4: and kids at home, like me, you always want them

- 11:52Speaker 1: Season high fourteen penalties. Ray, let's holding in on that
- 11:55Speaker 1: for just a moment. We heard players talking about lack
- 11:59Speaker 1: of focus, lack of concentration. You're the defending Super Bowl champions. Offensively,
- 12:05Speaker 1: you have the same unit basically as you had a
- 12:07Speaker 1: year ago minus Makai Becton. You know, a big game,
- 12:11Speaker 1: what it takes to play a big games, what it
- 12:13Speaker 1: takes to mentally prepare for big games. How about the
- 12:16Speaker 1: world were you talking about for a season high fourteen
- 12:18Speaker 1: penalties against the Dallas Cowboys, and you know how pivotal
- 12:21Speaker 1: that game could be in terms of the jockey for
- 12:24Speaker 1: number one seed in the NFC? Is it lack of
- 12:28Speaker 1: focus or lack of discipline rate?
- 12:32Speaker 3: That's probably both, probably both. When do you go through
- 12:37Speaker 3: the kinds of stop start, backward forward, up down kind
- 12:42Speaker 3: of season that's been for this team, you know it's
- 12:46Speaker 3: never one thing, and that's you know, that's one thing
- 12:49Speaker 3: that you know, Nick serian I said to you before
- 12:52Speaker 3: we started rolling here that the only thing that's more
- 12:55Speaker 3: frustrating than watching this team play is watching Nick Sirianni's
- 12:59Speaker 3: press conferences because it seems like he doesn't really I mean,
- 13:02Speaker 3: the guys are asking the right questions, but he's not
- 13:05Speaker 3: really answering them. So that's that's really frustrating. But the
- 13:08Speaker 3: one thing that he has said, which I agree with,
- 13:11Speaker 3: and he said it pretty much every week is you know,
- 13:14Speaker 3: when things go wrong, it's never just one thing, and
- 13:17Speaker 3: it's never just one guy. If it were, that's pretty fixable,
- 13:21Speaker 3: but it's not. It's been a different guy on a
- 13:23Speaker 3: different play. It's been a different thing on a different week.
- 13:27Speaker 3: And that's why this team is where it is. You know,
- 13:31Speaker 3: watching this game, watching this game, and then watching the
- 13:34Speaker 3: whole course of the season up till now, it's been
- 13:38Speaker 3: it's had me shaking my head because how many times,
- 13:41Speaker 3: how many times in assessing this season, like on all
- 13:45Speaker 3: the media platforms, have you seen people make this statement
- 13:50Speaker 3: this team they just find a way to win. Yep,
- 13:54Speaker 3: they find a way to win. So well, what are
- 13:58Speaker 3: you really saying there? You're saying, I don't know how
- 14:02Speaker 3: they're winning these games, but I guess they're winning them
- 14:07Speaker 3: now that you know what. That reminds me of. That
- 14:10Speaker 3: reminds me of doesn't remind me of last year. It
- 14:14Speaker 3: reminds me of two years ago. Remember two years ago
- 14:17Speaker 3: when they got to ten and one. How many times
- 14:20Speaker 3: did you how many times did you hear people say
- 14:22Speaker 3: they find a way to win. Yeah, they find a
- 14:25Speaker 3: way to win. And it was the same thing. It
- 14:26Speaker 3: was sort of like everybody was saying, I don't really
- 14:28Speaker 3: quite believe what's going on here, but they find a
- 14:30Speaker 3: way to win. That isn't what you were saying last year.
- 14:33Speaker 3: No one was saying last year when this team got
- 14:36Speaker 3: on its roll, they find a way to win. No,
- 14:39Speaker 3: you you were kicking teams butts from the first snap
- 14:43Speaker 3: to the last snap, and when it was over, you
- 14:46Speaker 3: damn well knew how they won.
- 14:49Speaker 2: They won it.
- 14:50Speaker 3: They came out and they and they rolled the opposition.
- 14:53Speaker 3: So nobody was saying they found a way to win. No,
- 14:56Speaker 3: they dominated. They dominated this team last year their way
- 15:00Speaker 3: to the super Bowl. They dominated through the second half
- 15:03Speaker 3: of the year. It was two years ago we were
- 15:05Speaker 3: saying they find a way to win, and we know
- 15:07Speaker 3: how that season ended up. So that's kind of where
- 15:11Speaker 3: we are right now. And it's same thing. You know,
- 15:14Speaker 3: they're eight and three leading their division, looks like they're
- 15:18Speaker 3: on their way to the playoffs.
- 15:20Speaker 2: You know that's not bad.
- 15:23Speaker 3: But to try and say that this team is the
- 15:26Speaker 3: same team as they were last year, it's not even close.
- 15:30Speaker 3: It's not even close. And to your point of what
- 15:33Speaker 3: you were saying just a moment ago, and I kind
- 15:35Speaker 3: of agree with you. I think when you get to
- 15:37Speaker 3: this point in the season, when you get to Thanksgiving week,
- 15:40Speaker 3: this is what you are. You know you're you know
- 15:43Speaker 3: you're not There's the reinforcements aren't coming over the hill. Okay,
- 15:47Speaker 3: there's nobody coming in to help you. You're just gonna
- 15:49Speaker 3: have to find a way to get there with what
- 15:52Speaker 3: you got right now and what you saw on Sunday,
- 15:55Speaker 3: I mean that was pretty bad and now they got
- 15:58Speaker 3: to get it together on it. Yet another short week
- 16:01Speaker 3: to play a red hot Chicago Bear team, even though
- 16:06Speaker 3: it's at home, that ain't going to be easy.
- 16:08Speaker 4: Hey, Philly fans, game day is stressful enough. Parking, traffic,
- 16:12Speaker 4: long lines, We've all been there. But when it comes
- 16:15Speaker 4: to your cannabis. Camden Apothecary makes it easy. This is
- 16:20Speaker 4: the dispensary for sports fans, just minutes outside of Philly,
- 16:24Speaker 4: with plenty of free parking. You'll be in and out fast,

- 17:03Speaker 4: great prices, and an experience made for Philly fans twenty
- 17:06Speaker 4: one and up.
- 17:08Speaker 1: You know, array the public outcry to fire Kevin Batullo
- 17:14Speaker 1: is louder than it's ever been, and obviously it's because
- 17:17Speaker 1: of the way they lost this game to the hated
- 17:19Speaker 1: Dallas Cowboys. But I'm not gonna let the players off
- 17:22Speaker 1: the hook. I mean, this is more than just Batulo
- 17:25Speaker 1: you know, you can vote. It is an unimaginative offense,
- 17:28Speaker 1: but execution is execution. It wasn't a flashy offense a
- 17:32Speaker 1: year ago when they won the Super Bowl. It was
- 17:34Speaker 1: a grinded out, run over the opponent type offense. But
- 17:37Speaker 1: that worked for them. Yeah, it's like you said, the players.
- 17:43Speaker 1: It's always something with the players. It's one player, it's
- 17:45Speaker 1: two player. You know. Sometimes it's consecutive plays where penalties
- 17:51Speaker 1: will hold them back. There were two plays in this
- 17:53Speaker 1: game with Dallas Goddard at It catches for big games
- 17:56Speaker 1: called back because the penalties. You know, I understand Kevin
- 17:59Speaker 1: Bitto may not be the most creative offensive mastermind in
- 18:03Speaker 1: the NFL, but don't absolve the players from this mess
- 18:07Speaker 1: as well, because Lady Luck has shined on this offense
- 18:10Speaker 1: much of this season in terms of making the necessary plays.
- 18:15Speaker 1: Lady Luck frowned on this team against the Dallas Cowboys.
- 18:19Speaker 1: And you know what, luck only carries so far. You
- 18:22Speaker 1: can only go so far with luck before it comes
- 18:23Speaker 1: back to bite you in the backside. And it bit him.
- 18:26Speaker 1: It bit him big time this time. And I don't
- 18:28Speaker 1: know what you're going to do from this point on,
- 18:30Speaker 1: because now you've lost even more players and you got
- 18:34Speaker 1: big games coming up as well.
- 18:35Speaker 3: Yep, yep, for sure. You know, I understand the outcry
- 18:41Speaker 3: about Patulo because he was an unknown, has no track
- 18:45Speaker 3: record for doing this. So people were a little skeptical
- 18:50Speaker 3: going to the season. I mean when people were when heck,
- 18:54Speaker 3: when you and I back in Week one were saying, yeah,
- 18:58Speaker 3: defending champs, got all this personnel for the most part,
- 19:01Speaker 3: on you know, what are your concerns going into the season,
- 19:04Speaker 3: and everybody kind of said, well, we kind of got
- 19:06Speaker 3: to see how the new offensive coordinator works out. You know,
- 19:09Speaker 3: the communication between him and the quarterback, the play calling,
- 19:12Speaker 3: blah blah blah. I mean, it was a legitimate point
- 19:14Speaker 3: to raise, and people raised it. But the stuff that's
- 19:19Speaker 3: happening now, and I'm not going to absolve the Tuolo
- 19:22Speaker 3: of anything here because he I mean, he's his hand
- 19:24Speaker 3: in it, darn right it is. But he's not sending
- 19:29Speaker 3: in plays telling guys to jump off sides. He's not
- 19:32Speaker 3: sending in plays to say, by the way, line up
- 19:35Speaker 3: in the wrong spot. Here's the play, but you line
- 19:37Speaker 3: up in the working spot. He's not sending in plays
- 19:39Speaker 3: and saying, hey, Fred, make sure you get your hands
- 19:41Speaker 3: in the face of that pass rusher.
- 19:42Speaker 2: You know, he's sending in plays.
- 19:45Speaker 3: But the players are the ones that are getting the
- 19:48Speaker 3: flags thrown on them. And that comes back to execution,
- 19:52Speaker 3: you know, and the play calling and the offensive design.
- 19:55Speaker 3: I mean, that's all part of the equation, and we
- 19:58Speaker 3: I fully acknowledge that. But once the ball snapped, I mean,
- 20:04Speaker 3: it's up to the players to carry it out and
- 20:07Speaker 3: they just haven't been. And the weekend, week out, penalty
- 20:12Speaker 3: after penalty, drive killers, bad decisions. It's you know, that's that's.
- 20:19Speaker 2: That part of it's on the players.
- 20:20Speaker 3: The coaches had bear a certain amount of responsibility, and
- 20:23Speaker 3: they should, but this is also on the players, it
- 20:26Speaker 3: really is. And you know, you look at Kevin Patulo's situation.
- 20:34Speaker 3: He he's a rookie offensive coordinator. He had never done
- 20:39Speaker 3: this before. He's been a he was a career position
- 20:42Speaker 3: coach who was handed at the OC responsibility for a
- 20:46Speaker 3: Super Bowl champion. Okay, his first crack at this first
- 20:50Speaker 3: time being the OC. He's going to be for a
- 20:53Speaker 3: team that just won the Super Bowl. So what do
- 20:58Speaker 3: people expect? I mean, do you think do you think
- 21:01Speaker 3: he's going to come in and say, you know, what
- 21:05Speaker 3: I'm gonna got a whole new playbook for you. You know,
- 21:09Speaker 3: you know you're won the Super Bowl doing this stuff.
- 21:10Speaker 3: But I got these ideas, this is what we're going
- 21:12Speaker 3: to do. Of course not He's going to come in
- 21:15Speaker 3: in his position and he's going to try and run
- 21:17Speaker 3: the same offense and just won the super Bowl.
- 21:18Speaker 2: Okay, so he had.
- 21:21Speaker 3: It's basically the same formula of what they they were built.
- 21:25Speaker 3: They went on their run, they won their super Bowl
- 21:28Speaker 3: with one style of play and one philosophy, and it
- 21:31Speaker 3: was all built off the running game, which all started
- 21:34Speaker 3: with a dominating offensive line. So he's not going to
- 21:37Speaker 3: come in as a first time offensive coordinator and change
- 21:39Speaker 3: all that, you know. And so he comes in and
- 21:42Speaker 3: he says, Okay, this is what won for us before.
- 21:45Speaker 3: We're going forward with this philosophy and this playbook. I
- 21:49Speaker 3: totally understand that part of it. The problem is you're
- 21:52Speaker 3: trying to do that with an offensive line that isn't
- 21:55Speaker 3: anywhere near as good as it was a year ago.
- 21:58Speaker 5: Hey, I still like a good night out, but I'm

- 23:28Speaker 3: So it's if that's if, that's kind of where you are,
- 23:30Speaker 3: and that is where they are. I kind of understand
- 23:33Speaker 3: how they got there, But now you got to try
- 23:37Speaker 3: and find a way to get this to get this truck,
- 23:39Speaker 3: to get this truck.
- 23:40Speaker 2: Out of the mud and get it back on the road.
- 23:43Speaker 3: It can actually when it gets back to the playoffs
- 23:46Speaker 3: this year, which they will clearly once you get back there,
- 23:50Speaker 3: are you going to be Are you going to be
- 23:51Speaker 3: in a position to win a game or two? The
- 23:54Speaker 3: way they're playing right now, as inconsistent as they are
- 23:57Speaker 3: right now, and essentially as in a effective as they
- 24:00Speaker 3: are on offense right now. You know, do you like
- 24:03Speaker 3: their chances in the postseason against good teams?
- 24:06Speaker 1: I really don't know. No. Great for a life for me.
- 24:09Speaker 1: I can't understand why they can't run the football. I
- 24:12Speaker 1: really can't. This was the Dallas defense giving up one
- 24:14Speaker 1: hundred and thirty one yards a game on the ground.
- 24:17Speaker 1: This is one of the poorest defense over defenses overall
- 24:20Speaker 1: in the National Football League, Saquon Barkley touches the ball,
- 24:23Speaker 1: He's getting smacked behind the line of scrimmage more than
- 24:25Speaker 1: he is once he crosses the line of scrimmage. I'm
- 24:27Speaker 1: at a point now, I understand teams are honing in
- 24:30Speaker 1: on Saquon. I'm at a point now I might want
- 24:32Speaker 1: to see a little bit more tank Bigsby. I mean,
- 24:34Speaker 1: every time he gets the ball, he's picking up eight, nine,
- 24:37Speaker 1: twelve yards. So what is he saying when he gets
- 24:40Speaker 1: the ball that Saquon isn't saying. That's a good question,
- 24:45Speaker 1: you know, if you want to get if you want
- 24:48Speaker 1: to get this Brown game going, and I understand you
- 24:50Speaker 1: pay Saquon a lot of money. I'm sorry, but the
- 24:55Speaker 1: SOS is right now, give the ball a tank more.
- 24:57Speaker 1: I'm serious, you know, I'm just I'm at that point
- 25:00Speaker 1: right now. Yeah, you're not alone. I mean a lot
- 25:03Speaker 1: of people have asked me that question.
- 25:04Speaker 3: Like you know, it's it's happened often enough now that
- 25:07Speaker 3: you put Bigsby in there and he goes eight yards,
- 25:10Speaker 3: ten yards, wait a minute, and then he's out. You know,
- 25:13Speaker 3: he gets two touches and he averages nine yards of
- 25:16Speaker 3: carry and then he's on the bench. So what's up
- 25:19Speaker 3: and why doesn't he get the ball more? Yeah, perfectly
- 25:23Speaker 3: logical questions to ask. I think with Barkley all year,
- 25:28Speaker 3: and the question is now being asked out loud, has
- 25:32Speaker 3: Barkley lost it?
- 25:33Speaker 2: Is there something? Is there something wrong with him?
- 25:35Speaker 3: Is he Is he hurt and not saying anything about it?
- 25:39Speaker 3: Is he into one of those the year after the
- 25:44Speaker 3: two thousand yard year that he is just not the
- 25:46Speaker 3: same guy? I mean, is this Are we seeing Jamal
- 25:50Speaker 3: Anderson again? Are we seeing Priest Holmes again? That is
- 25:54Speaker 3: that what we're seeing? I don't really feel that. I
- 25:58Speaker 3: don't really see that. I don't think he's broken down physically.
- 26:03Speaker 3: I think it's largely fat.
- 26:04Speaker 2: Again.
- 26:05Speaker 3: Almost everything with me, it all comes back to the
- 26:07Speaker 3: offensive line. I mean, none of the guys on the
- 26:10Speaker 3: offensive line, and they're largely in the same guys, they
- 26:13Speaker 3: just aren't. They just aren't playing the way they did
- 26:15Speaker 3: last year. There isn't a single guy on that line
- 26:18Speaker 3: that's playing as well as he played a year.
- 26:19Speaker 1: Ago, not at all.
- 26:21Speaker 2: So it's not like, oh, it's they got Steen in
- 26:23Speaker 2: there instead of Beckton. So that's the whole problem.
- 26:25Speaker 3: No, no, no, no, I mean Milatta has not played as
- 26:28Speaker 3: well as he played before. Dickerson, we all know that
- 26:31Speaker 3: he's been hurt all year and he's trying to play
- 26:34Speaker 3: through it, but not particularly well. Jurgens has been in
- 26:38Speaker 3: and out, had the back surgery.
- 26:40Speaker 2: He's not the same player.
- 26:42Speaker 3: Steen at this point looks to me like a kid
- 26:45Speaker 3: who's he can pass block some, but he's not much
- 26:48Speaker 3: of a run blocker. And Lane is, you know, thirty
- 26:52Speaker 3: five and struggling physically. I mean, so that's kind of
- 26:55Speaker 3: the reality of it. But you're trying to run the
- 26:57Speaker 3: same plays and you're one wondering why it's not being
- 27:02Speaker 3: as effective. I think that you look at Barkley when
- 27:05Speaker 3: he takes a handoff now and you can see now
- 27:07Speaker 3: they're throwing him the ball as much as they're handing
- 27:09Speaker 3: it off to him. He takes the handoff now and
- 27:13Speaker 3: there's two guys on him before he even gets back
- 27:16Speaker 3: to the line of scrimmage. So it's no mystery to
- 27:20Speaker 3: me that he's averaging three point whatever on per carry
- 27:25Speaker 3: because he's just not getting He's just not there. The
- 27:28Speaker 3: holes aren't there, and he's not getting he's not getting
- 27:33Speaker 3: the kind of blocking that.
- 27:34Speaker 2: He got last year. That's part of it.
- 27:37Speaker 3: But what I've started to see now in the last
- 27:41Speaker 3: couple of weeks is.
- 27:45Speaker 2: I think's it's in his head now, and when.
- 27:48Speaker 3: He's running with the ball, he isn't quite as decisive,
- 27:52Speaker 3: you know. I mean it's more like he's got the
- 27:55Speaker 3: ball and he's kind of looking for that daylight and
- 27:58Speaker 3: he's trying to find that hole where he get where
- 28:00Speaker 3: you can get the crack and get the big gainer.
- 28:02Speaker 3: Whereas last year it was just there. I mean, he
- 28:05Speaker 3: took the ball and it was there. I mean the
- 28:07Speaker 3: door was wide open. That ain't true now. But every
- 28:11Speaker 3: time he's getting the ball, he's kind of looking for it,
- 28:13Speaker 3: which makes him a little a little tentative, you know,
- 28:18Speaker 3: Whereas when Tank comes in, Tank is just busting it.
- 28:22Speaker 3: I mean he's just taking the ball and he's going
- 28:24Speaker 3: north south. I mean he's just putting his head down
- 28:26Speaker 3: and he's just driving it. And I don't think it
- 28:29Speaker 3: seems to me like he's hitting whatever hole there is
- 28:33Speaker 3: quicker than Saquan is hitting his. And I think it's
- 28:35Speaker 3: a case where the defenses are clearly playing or just
- 28:39Speaker 3: laying on Berkley and not giving him a chance to
- 28:42Speaker 3: get started.
- 28:42Speaker 2: And I think now it's kind of working on his mind.
- 28:44Speaker 3: He knows people are talking about it, he knows how
- 28:46Speaker 3: far below last year's standard he's playing, and every time
- 28:49Speaker 3: he's got the ball, he's I think he's starting to
- 28:51Speaker 3: press a little bit, whereas Tank just comes in and
- 28:53Speaker 3: Tanks just says, give me the ball and I'm going
- 28:55Speaker 3: And I think it's a little bit of a different look.
- 28:59Speaker 3: Do I think the Tank is a better runner than Barkley, No, No,
- 29:02Speaker 3: But I think right now where Barkley is and the
- 29:05Speaker 3: kind of season it's been and knowing the expectations for him,
- 29:09Speaker 3: I think maybe he's trying to do more with each
- 29:11Speaker 3: carry than Tank is. Tank's just trying to take it
- 29:13Speaker 3: and go with it, where as I think Barkley is
- 29:15Speaker 3: trying every carry to be the carry that's going to
- 29:18Speaker 3: turn this season around.
- 29:20Speaker 1: And this Eagles defense that was so dominant against the
- 29:23Speaker 1: Detroit Lions and made Jared Goff very uncomfortable. They couldn't
- 29:28Speaker 1: touch Herd, they could hardly touch Dak Prescott. I don't
- 29:31Speaker 1: think Dak was uncomfortable more than maybe two or three
- 29:34Speaker 1: plays the entire game, and for the last two plus
- 29:37Speaker 1: quarters of the game, the Dallas Cowboys racked up four
- 29:40Speaker 1: hundred and thirteen yards on this Eagles defense. They finished
- 29:44Speaker 1: with four to seventy three against this Eagles defense. Now,
- 29:47Speaker 1: because of the ineptitude of the offense, I believe the
- 29:50Speaker 1: Eagles defense was gassed to a certain degree. But the
- 29:53Speaker 1: big name players didn't show up. Jalen Carter was in
- 29:56Speaker 1: the witness protection program and I thought he would have
- 29:59Speaker 1: a big game entertrat in the middle of that Dallas
- 30:01Speaker 1: offensive left. He was a no show in this game.
- 30:03Speaker 1: And I understand, you know, players did fall by the wayside,
- 30:08Speaker 1: but the fact that they couldn't get off the field
- 30:10Speaker 1: against Dallas in that second half basically was shocking with
- 30:13Speaker 1: shocking in a lot of ways.
- 30:15Speaker 2: Yeah, I agree with you.
- 30:16Speaker 3: I thought that they would be able to get more
- 30:18Speaker 3: pressure on on the rare occasions that they got a
- 30:22Speaker 3: little pressure, Dak was pretty good about kind of getting
- 30:25Speaker 3: out of the pocket and getting himself just enough time
- 30:28Speaker 3: to make a play. You know, I think I've always
- 30:32Speaker 3: been a Dak Prescott fan. I think he's a good player,
- 30:35Speaker 3: I really do. Uh And and now if you look
- 30:38Speaker 3: at his career, he's got the numbers to back it up.
- 30:40Speaker 3: I know how Eagle fans feel about Cowboys, and I
- 30:43Speaker 3: know how Eagles fans feel about Cowboys quarterback. They're not
- 30:46Speaker 3: going to give him any credit. No, but he's pretty
- 30:48Speaker 3: he's pretty good player. And I think he's like ten
- 30:51Speaker 3: and five career against the Eagles.
- 30:53Speaker 1: Yes, so in seven and one at home against the Eagles,
- 30:56Speaker 1: he's he's.
- 30:57Speaker 2: Had He's had good games against this team. This was
- 30:59Speaker 2: nothing new, but you got.
- 31:02Speaker 3: To get pressure on him to have any success, and
- 31:04Speaker 3: Eagles really didn't and on a couple of the occasions
- 31:07Speaker 3: when they did get a little heat, for the most part,
- 31:09Speaker 3: he was able to get out and get out of
- 31:11Speaker 3: there and still make a play. He played really well.
- 31:14Speaker 3: I mean, you talk about the numbers, and you're right.
- 31:16Speaker 3: The defense and we praised him to the sky the
- 31:18Speaker 3: last two weeks greatly, So, I mean they played really
- 31:21Speaker 3: good against Green Bay and Detroit. But in this game,
- 31:24Speaker 3: I mean they got shredded. And I think because the
- 31:27Speaker 3: offense was doing nothing like six seven straight possessions, they
- 31:33Speaker 3: were just giving it right back to the Cowboys. I
- 31:36Speaker 3: think the defense did get a little bit gassed. And
- 31:38Speaker 3: the other part of it is just listen that is
- 31:40Speaker 3: an explosive offense.
- 31:42Speaker 2: Yes, they're the number one passing offense in the league. Okay,
- 31:45Speaker 2: So I mean that's a fact. So you keep giving
- 31:48Speaker 2: them the ball back, you keep giving them the ball back.
- 31:50Speaker 2: At some point they're going to start to they're going
- 31:52Speaker 2: to start to get it roll. And that's and that's
- 31:54Speaker 2: what they did. Pickens played great, but.
- 31:57Speaker 3: I mean you pointed out I think they finished like
- 32:00Speaker 3: a four hundred and seventy three and seventy four yards.
- 32:03Speaker 2: Listen, if C. D. Lamb doesn't drop five passes, they
- 32:07Speaker 2: might have five.
- 32:08Speaker 3: Hundred and fifty yards exactly that game. I mean, that's
- 32:11Speaker 3: that is how many big plays they were hitting this
- 32:13Speaker 3: team with. So the idea that I had somebody last
- 32:17Speaker 3: week was working on a story that they're going right
- 32:20Speaker 3: for the paper about comparing this Eagles defense to the
- 32:24Speaker 3: nineteen ninety one Eagles defense, and I said, no, you.
- 32:35Speaker 2: Know, look, they've had a couple of really good games
- 32:37Speaker 2: they have.
- 32:38Speaker 3: They played really good against Green Bay, they played really
- 32:39Speaker 3: good against Detroit, and you know, they.
- 32:43Speaker 2: Get some good young players and the other are pretty good.
- 32:45Speaker 3: But no, no, comparing them to the nineteen ninety one defense.
- 32:50Speaker 3: You know, Reggie Waite, Eric Allen, Seth Joyner, Jeromera, Clyde Sibbett.
- 32:55Speaker 2: No, no, no, we're not there yet.
- 32:58Speaker 3: And I think I think this game on Sunday kind
- 33:00Speaker 3: of kind of underscored that. I mean, they're good, and
- 33:03Speaker 3: they're a big reason why this team is eight and three,
- 33:06Speaker 3: but let's not start comparing them to Hall of famers just.
- 33:09Speaker 1: Yet, right right? You know, and ray two of the
- 33:11Speaker 1: more egregious plays in the game. Saquon fumbles for the
- 33:14Speaker 1: first time this season, and then of course, what the
- 33:17Speaker 1: heck was Xavier Gibson thinking about field and then punt
- 33:21Speaker 1: at the three yard line and then gets blown up.
- 33:24Speaker 1: I mean, everybody's screaming, let it go, let it go.
- 33:27Speaker 1: You get the ball at twenty, let it go. No no, no, no,
- 33:30Speaker 1: no no. You talk about players who mentally were off
- 33:34Speaker 1: their game on Sunday, they were mentally off their game.
- 33:38Speaker 2: Yeah, they they were.
- 33:39Speaker 3: And uh, you know the Gibson, the Gibson play, which
- 33:43Speaker 3: is unforgivable. I mean, it's just it's just unforgivable. They
- 33:51Speaker 3: wound up, you know, they wound up. The defense bailed
- 33:54Speaker 3: them out. I mean, the defense held held the Cowboys
- 33:56Speaker 3: out of the end zone.
- 33:57Speaker 1: On that.
- 33:57Speaker 3: Give them, give them credit for that. But yeah, I
- 34:00Speaker 3: mean that's just that was just so well. Listen, Derek,
- 34:03Speaker 3: in your youth, you were an old kick returner. I
- 34:05Speaker 3: mean you you've you've been in that position, and the
- 34:08Speaker 3: thing that you're taught is you have to be aware
- 34:10Speaker 3: where you are. And if you're at the ten yard line,
- 34:12Speaker 3: which is where this kid was in that ball went
- 34:14Speaker 3: in the air, if you find yourself backing up, don't
- 34:18Speaker 3: touch it. Okay, don't you know? Nothing good can happen,
- 34:21Speaker 3: nothing good can happen there.
- 34:23Speaker 2: You gotta let it go.
- 34:24Speaker 3: And he caught that at the two yard line and
- 34:27Speaker 3: then of course compounds it by fumbling.
- 34:29Speaker 2: Listen, that's what got him cut in New York.
- 34:32Speaker 3: I mean it was exactly that kind of thing, that
- 34:34Speaker 3: kind of bad judgment, that kind of inability to put
- 34:38Speaker 3: the ball away, that's what got That's what got him
- 34:40Speaker 3: cut in New York. Now I'm not saying that's what's
- 34:42Speaker 3: going to happen here, but it does raise an interesting
- 34:46Speaker 3: question looking ahead to Friday.
- 34:48Speaker 2: You know, who are you gonna who are you gonna
- 34:50Speaker 2: put back on pump tree? Are you going to put
- 34:54Speaker 2: him back there?
- 34:55Speaker 3: After what you just saw I don't think so are
- 34:57Speaker 3: you going to bring Are you going to bring Britain
- 34:59Speaker 3: Covid up for the practice?
- 35:01Speaker 2: Quiet? I mean he hadn't touched the ball all year?
- 35:04Speaker 3: Or are you going to put Cooper Dejine back there
- 35:06Speaker 3: like it did last year?
- 35:08Speaker 2: I mean you got to find somebody between now and Friday.
- 35:11Speaker 2: What are you going to do?
- 35:13Speaker 1: M m, Well, I'm sick of talking about the Dallas
- 35:15Speaker 1: Cowboys and giving them kudos. They won a game, So
- 35:17Speaker 1: what They're five to five and one, Eagles eight and
- 35:20Speaker 1: three right now, and they have a lot of football
- 35:22Speaker 1: left to play to try to get this thing right.
- 35:24Speaker 1: Keep your fingers crossed. Oh, before we go right, Also
- 35:27Speaker 1: want to give you an opportunity to promote a big
- 35:29Speaker 1: event you and some very talented legendary people have coming up.

- 36:07Speaker 3: All of that nothing that you saw in Dallas. Okay,
- 36:10Speaker 3: there won't be any references to that. There'll be rivers
- 36:13Speaker 3: of the cowboys, but it'll all be in the form
- 36:15Speaker 3: of Eagles wins. But it's a show we'll put together.
