- 0:02Speaker 1: This is Teddy Teapot with cabinet. Hey guys, it's Teddy
- 0:11Speaker 1: here with Teddy Teapot. This week I decided to talk
- 0:14Speaker 1: about all things plastic surgery. I'm gonna have Whitney Boohad,
- 0:18Speaker 1: Jane Kramer, and Dr Kelly Colleen all on to share
- 0:22Speaker 1: their different experiences. I realized last week when I posted
- 0:26Speaker 1: something about botox, people had a real visceral reaction. Either
- 0:30Speaker 1: people were so grateful that I was opening up about
- 0:33Speaker 1: things that I have done or that I do, or
- 0:37Speaker 1: people were thinking it was terrible and the worst thing
- 0:40Speaker 1: ever that I would promote that on my social media
- 0:43Speaker 1: because people should love themselves as they are. And truly,
- 0:46Speaker 1: my feeling is it's much more challenging to watch somebody
- 0:52Speaker 1: that may you know, have a platform in any aspect
- 0:55Speaker 1: pretending like they have never done anything, so that the
- 0:58Speaker 1: people that you know wat to their stories or get
- 1:01Speaker 1: to know them start to believe that, you know, it's
- 1:05Speaker 1: all natural all the time. And I think that, you know,
- 1:07Speaker 1: you each person has a choice what they want to share,
- 1:10Speaker 1: but in regards to me, I have to be authentic,
- 1:14Speaker 1: and you know, I figured we should do a podcast,
- 1:16Speaker 1: The Good, the Bad, and the ugly of all of
- 1:19Speaker 1: these you know, decisions that we end up making. And
- 1:22Speaker 1: you know, I think Shannon Doherty posted something last week,
- 1:27Speaker 1: you know, talking about how hard it was to um,
- 1:31Speaker 1: you know, look at people on social media and compare
- 1:35Speaker 1: herself to people that have had face lifts or get
- 1:38Speaker 1: bo talks, and you know how it's just not an
- 1:41Speaker 1: even playing field. So I mean it really, you know,
- 1:45Speaker 1: open my eyes to so many discussions we can have.
- 1:47Speaker 1: So I'm really excited to answer all of your listener
- 1:50Speaker 1: questions today and really dig into this. So in a second,
- 1:53Speaker 1: we'll be bringing on Whitney buhah. And I'm sure sometimes
- 1:58Speaker 1: if you're aimlessly rolling reels, you know who Whitney Boohua
- 2:03Speaker 1: is because she makes these hilarious videos because she got
- 2:09Speaker 1: botox and it gave her a droopy eyelid, and she's
- 2:12Speaker 1: decided to you know, kind of make you laugh while
- 2:16Speaker 1: she's talking about it, but also educate us on some
- 2:18Speaker 1: of the dangers that botox can lead to. Hi, Hi,
- 2:24Speaker 1: thanks for joining us this week. Yeah, of course, thanks
- 2:28Speaker 1: for having me. Well, we appreciate you sharing, and um,
- 2:32Speaker 1: just to kind of get us started, do you mind
- 2:33Speaker 1: just telling everyone what actually happened. Yeah, of course, like
- 2:38Speaker 1: your story. Sure, So I guess I'll start from the beginning.
- 2:42Speaker 1: I've been getting botox for about three years and typically
- 2:46Speaker 1: always went in I really five to six months, so
- 2:48Speaker 1: I'd say twice a year and kind of focus on
- 2:50Speaker 1: my forehead, like my eleven lines and then just the
- 2:53Speaker 1: lines on my forehead. Um. So I went in for
- 2:55Speaker 1: my normal appointment and asked for those same things, and
- 2:59Speaker 1: then her about like two or three days, I noticed
- 3:02Speaker 1: that my left eyebrow was a lot lower than my
- 3:05Speaker 1: right one. So I texted my injector and she told
- 3:07Speaker 1: me to come back just a couple of days later,
- 3:09Speaker 1: and she told me she would add four units just
- 3:12Speaker 1: below my eyebrow on my left eye. And I honestly
- 3:17Speaker 1: didn't know, you know, where you're supposed to inject versus
- 3:19Speaker 1: where you're not supposed to inject. So I went back in,
- 3:22Speaker 1: she added the units, and then about five days after
- 3:25Speaker 1: that is when I started to see that my left
- 3:26Speaker 1: eye was drooping like crazy. Um, it basically just was
- 3:31Speaker 1: closing more and more. So it took about five days
- 3:33Speaker 1: to kick in, and then from there for the next
- 3:36Speaker 1: like a week and a half, I got progressively worse. UM,
- 3:40Speaker 1: So it just started closing. And I don't know if
- 3:42Speaker 1: you saw pictures, but just the difference in my eyes
- 3:45Speaker 1: was crazy. And then my right I started overcompensating, UM,
- 3:49Speaker 1: trying to open bigger because the left eye was so
- 3:52Speaker 1: far closed. So I had this huge right eye and
- 3:54Speaker 1: then this really tiny left eye. UM. And then from there,
- 3:58Speaker 1: I mean, I texted my injector again, and I spoke
- 4:00Speaker 1: with the plastic surgeon who's the head of the med SPA,
- 4:04Speaker 1: and he referred me to someone else who kind of
- 4:06Speaker 1: specializes in these types of things if something goes wrong,
- 4:09Speaker 1: and I met with her about two weeks later, and
- 4:12Speaker 1: they told me. What she told me, this expert i'd
- 4:15Speaker 1: call her, is that UM, an injector should never touch
- 4:19Speaker 1: you until at least two weeks after your initial injections,
- 4:22Speaker 1: because the botox can take two weeks to settle. So
- 4:25Speaker 1: which I went, yeah, just like a week later. So
- 4:28Speaker 1: the botox hadn't fully settled at that point, and I
- 4:31Speaker 1: had more added which could have caused could have maybe
- 4:34Speaker 1: added to the problem. UM. But when I met with
- 4:37Speaker 1: this other injector, she suggested adding two units of botox
- 4:41Speaker 1: to my lash line, so like one at the front
- 4:44Speaker 1: and one at the back, which freaked me out, but
- 4:47Speaker 1: she said it was probably the biggest thing that would
- 4:49Speaker 1: help me, so I decided to go ahead and do it.
- 4:51Speaker 1: And then about two weeks after that, I think it
- 4:54Speaker 1: had started to settle in and my left I started
- 4:56Speaker 1: opening back up. And why while you were struggling with
- 5:01Speaker 1: keeping your eye open, were you struggling with vision at all?
- 5:05Speaker 1: You know, my vision was fine. It was more just
- 5:08Speaker 1: the feeling like it felt super heavy throughout the day.
- 5:11Speaker 1: There would be times I would be sitting at my
- 5:13Speaker 1: computer and just kind of hold my lid up like
- 5:16Speaker 1: this because I'd be working all day, and then it
- 5:19Speaker 1: just felt very tired and very heavy. And not that
- 5:21Speaker 1: it affected my vision, It just had this strange feeling
- 5:25Speaker 1: of like a strain or that it was I just
- 5:27Speaker 1: needed to blink a lot or close my eyes for
- 5:30Speaker 1: a little while. Yeah, And then were you warned about
- 5:35Speaker 1: this ever happening when getting bowtops? I know I've been
- 5:38Speaker 1: told when I when I get botox' is like, oh,
- 5:40Speaker 1: if we put too much here, you know, it can
- 5:43Speaker 1: lift your eyebrows too much and you look surprised, or
- 5:46Speaker 1: if you put too much here, your brows will start to,
- 5:49Speaker 1: you know, go down. But nobody has really ever talked
- 5:52Speaker 1: to me and said what happened to you could actually
- 5:55Speaker 1: happen to any of us. Yeah, same, I had known
- 5:59Speaker 1: similar things to what you said, or you know, the
- 6:02Speaker 1: frozen look i'd call it, where they inject too much
- 6:04Speaker 1: in your face doesn't move. Obviously no one wants that.
- 6:07Speaker 1: But those were really the only risks or side effects
- 6:10Speaker 1: that I knew. I didn't realize that this eyelid drooping
- 6:13Speaker 1: could happen. Um. And I feel like I connected with
- 6:16Speaker 1: so many women after this that also had no idea
- 6:19Speaker 1: that this could be a side effect. And how long
- 6:22Speaker 1: until you were fully recovered. So it's been a little
- 6:27Speaker 1: bit over three months now, and in my opinion, I'm
- 6:30Speaker 1: still not a hundred percent And it's probably hard for
- 6:33Speaker 1: you to see looking at me or you know, i'd
- 6:35Speaker 1: say that, if anything, this eyebrow is still a little
- 6:38Speaker 1: bit lower than the right eyebrow. Um. But when I
- 6:42Speaker 1: take a picture, it's funny because in video you can't
- 6:44Speaker 1: really tell her face to face, you can't really tell,
- 6:46Speaker 1: but if you take a photo you can see it
- 6:48Speaker 1: a lot more. Um, And there's still a little bit
- 6:50Speaker 1: of unevenness in my eyes and it's definitely way better
- 6:54Speaker 1: than it was, but to me, it's still not a pent.
- 6:57Speaker 1: And what did it do like to your m you're
- 7:00Speaker 1: like mental state, like that first time you looked in
- 7:03Speaker 1: the mirror and you started noticing that that was happening,
- 7:05Speaker 1: And how did you kind of reconcile it? M hm, yeah,
- 7:09Speaker 1: I think the initial when I first saw it, I
- 7:13Speaker 1: was just really freaked out. I had no idea what
- 7:15Speaker 1: was going on, and immediately I thought that this would
- 7:17Speaker 1: be permanent damage because I've never seen my face look
- 7:20Speaker 1: like this before, so it was just really shocking. Um.
- 7:24Speaker 1: And I think the good thing was that I'm working
- 7:27Speaker 1: from home. You know, we're still at that point, we
- 7:30Speaker 1: were still kind of in lockdown and quarantine, so I
- 7:32Speaker 1: wasn't going many places. But when I did have to
- 7:36Speaker 1: go somewhere, it was super uncomfortable. I was very very
- 7:39Speaker 1: self conscious. I wanted to keep my sunglasses on. I
- 7:41Speaker 1: was parting my hair and like swooping my my like
- 7:45Speaker 1: all the way in front of my left eyes. You
- 7:47Speaker 1: couldn't even see it, so it was it was really hard.
- 7:50Speaker 1: You know, you just don't feel very confident, you don't
- 7:52Speaker 1: feel like you look like yourself and going out in
- 7:55Speaker 1: public was very uncomfortable. So then how did you make
- 7:58Speaker 1: like which I think your video are great, Like I like,
- 8:02Speaker 1: they make me laugh, they're educational, it's all the things.
- 8:05Speaker 1: So how did you get to the point where you
- 8:07Speaker 1: were able to do that? Yeah? I mean it. I
- 8:12Speaker 1: don't even know for sure. I think what started it
- 8:14Speaker 1: was that, Um, I believe it was a Sunday night
- 8:17Speaker 1: when it started to get really bad, and I had
- 8:21Speaker 1: posted a video with my hair covering my eye, and
- 8:25Speaker 1: I mentioned in the video that I had gotten bad
- 8:28Speaker 1: botox and that's why I was covering my eye like that.
- 8:31Speaker 1: And I received so many responses from followers and from
- 8:35Speaker 1: people asking what do you mean you got bad botox?
- 8:38Speaker 1: I didn't know you could get bad botox? What does
- 8:40Speaker 1: that mean? Just so many questions and so much interest.
- 8:44Speaker 1: So I sat with it for a few hours and
- 8:45Speaker 1: thought about it and decided that I also didn't know
- 8:49Speaker 1: how long I was going to look like that, so
- 8:50Speaker 1: I couldn't hide my face forever. But basically decided that
- 8:53Speaker 1: I might as well share this with everyone who has
- 8:55Speaker 1: questions and has no idea that this could happen, because
- 8:57Speaker 1: I didn't know this could happen prior either. Um, so
- 9:01Speaker 1: I remember sitting down in my kitchen and just propping
- 9:03Speaker 1: my phone up and had my hair is still covering
- 9:07Speaker 1: my face. Started the video and was like, Okay, here
- 9:10Speaker 1: we go, I'm going to show you it, moved it
- 9:11Speaker 1: over and I just started talking about what had happened,
- 9:15Speaker 1: and from there there was just such a huge response
- 9:17Speaker 1: from people. Obviously, there are the people who are the
- 9:20Speaker 1: trolls and are going to hate on you for getting
- 9:22Speaker 1: botox in the first place, but the large majority was
- 9:25Speaker 1: people who were very supportive and just had questions and
- 9:28Speaker 1: wanted to understand more about how this can happen and
- 9:31Speaker 1: how they can prevent it for themselves in the future.
- 9:34Speaker 1: And then have you gotten botox since? And would you
- 9:37Speaker 1: ever do it again? I have not gotten it since,
- 9:40Speaker 1: But I can't say I'll never do it again, you know.
- 9:44Speaker 1: I mean when I've had it in the past and
- 9:46Speaker 1: it's good, it's great. You know, it makes your skin
- 9:48Speaker 1: look better, it makes you feel better, and this obviously
- 9:52Speaker 1: was a very unfortunate situation, but I can't say that
- 9:54Speaker 1: I'd swear it off forever. And the person who did
- 9:57Speaker 1: it this time was she the person that had done
- 10:00Speaker 1: it prior as well. Yes, I've been going to her
- 10:03Speaker 1: for over a year. And did she ever cop to
- 10:06Speaker 1: like making a mistake? Was there something that she hit?
- 10:09Speaker 1: Did she do it in the wrong location? Like what
- 10:11Speaker 1: is kind of the signs if you're getting botox to
- 10:14Speaker 1: maybe go this is a red flag? Yeah, so she
- 10:18Speaker 1: I didn't hear much from her after um, but the
- 10:21Speaker 1: other woman that I met with, who was more like
- 10:23Speaker 1: the expert on fixing these types of things, really told
- 10:26Speaker 1: me a lot of useful information and what she said.
- 10:29Speaker 1: And obviously she didn't do the initial injections, so she
- 10:32Speaker 1: doesn't know a hundred percent. But she received my chart
- 10:35Speaker 1: from the medspot looked at all the markings where she injected,
- 10:38Speaker 1: and from her analysis of that, she said that basically,
- 10:42Speaker 1: there's two muscles right below your eyebrow, and if you
- 10:45Speaker 1: hit one, that's going to cause your eyelid to droop,
- 10:48Speaker 1: and they're right next to each other, so actually injecting
- 10:51Speaker 1: under your eyebrows very dangerous. And most injectors don't go
- 10:55Speaker 1: below the brow, they stay above the brow. So she
- 10:57Speaker 1: said she would never inject below the brow. She would
- 11:00Speaker 1: day away from that area because these muscles are so
- 11:02Speaker 1: close together. That if you hit that one that's the
- 11:05Speaker 1: wrong one, your eyelid will droop. So what she believes
- 11:08Speaker 1: is that it was injected into the wrong area and
- 11:10Speaker 1: that's what caused the eyelid potosis. And the first time
- 11:14Speaker 1: that she did it, she went under your eyebrow. The
- 11:17Speaker 1: so she went under the second appointment when my eyebrows
- 11:20Speaker 1: were uneven. Okay, so your eyelid wasn't drooping at the
- 11:24Speaker 1: first one. You were just noticing a difference in your eyebrow. Okay,
- 11:28Speaker 1: that's the part that I missed. Okay, so that makes sense.
- 11:32Speaker 1: So here pretty much the p s A is if
- 11:34Speaker 1: you're getting botox and they go underneath your eyebrow, tell
- 11:39Speaker 1: them to stop exactly, like do not inject their Wow.
- 11:45Speaker 1: So you know, did you find that hearing from so
- 11:48Speaker 1: many people and helping other people kind of go through
- 11:51Speaker 1: the same thing helped your experience, like at least knowing like, Wow,
- 11:55Speaker 1: I'm helping others, and you know, because I know when
- 11:59Speaker 1: I'm when I'm struggling with something or when something happens.
- 12:01Speaker 1: As long as I kind of like put put my
- 12:04Speaker 1: best foot forward and like have those open, vulnerable conversation,
- 12:08Speaker 1: it like makes the time go by faster and you
- 12:11Speaker 1: feel like there's a purpose for it all. And definitely
- 12:14Speaker 1: it was I think just talking to other people about it,
- 12:18Speaker 1: and a lot of people could relate, maybe not necessarily
- 12:21Speaker 1: to the eyelid drooping, but to other things. You know,
- 12:24Speaker 1: people have had problems with getting their lips injected or
- 12:28Speaker 1: areas around their mouth where the botox really relaxes that
- 12:31Speaker 1: muscle and they can't smile. So maybe not the exact
- 12:34Speaker 1: situation that I was in, but something similar where we
- 12:36Speaker 1: could at least talk about it and commiserate and you
- 12:39Speaker 1: felt like you weren't alone with it. So that really
- 12:42Speaker 1: helped me to kind of get through it. Was talking
- 12:44Speaker 1: with other people was the support I received that. You
- 12:47Speaker 1: know a lot of people even though they get botox too,
- 12:52Speaker 1: they were very supportive and they weren't you know, there
- 12:54Speaker 1: were the people that weren't supportive, but I think that
- 12:56Speaker 1: so many women do get botox and they now understand
- 12:59Speaker 1: that this is a risk and they were appreciative of
- 13:02Speaker 1: me sharing about it. Yeah, because I think if you
- 13:04Speaker 1: going to do something, if you know the risk and
- 13:06Speaker 1: it's still that important to you and you want to
- 13:08Speaker 1: do it, and it's gonna make you feel better and
- 13:10Speaker 1: it's something that you're confident in that decision, that's one thing.
- 13:13Speaker 1: But if you're going in and you really don't know,
- 13:15Speaker 1: and it's in the fine print of the sixty paper
- 13:18Speaker 1: so that you sign before getting botox, then it can
- 13:22Speaker 1: for sure happen. Um, So how do people find you?
- 13:27Speaker 1: Because I I know that after hearing this, they're gonna
- 13:30Speaker 1: have so many more questions from you, and you know,
- 13:34Speaker 1: I want them to be able to see the videos.
- 13:35Speaker 1: I want, you know, everybody to have that support if
- 13:39Speaker 1: they are going through it as well. Yeah, definitely. So
- 13:41Speaker 1: you can find me on Instagram. It's at something Witty
- 13:44Speaker 1: and it's w h I T T Y awesome. Thank
- 13:48Speaker 1: you so much for joining us and I appreciate you
- 13:50Speaker 1: sharing your experience. Yeah, thank you so much for having me.

- 14:35Speaker 1: R E l l e dot com. Hi, Funny, how
- 14:39Speaker 1: are you good? Good? Thanks for joining us, Thank you
- 14:43Speaker 1: for having me. I'm so excited. So you're in California
- 14:47Speaker 1: this week? I'm in California. Yea, I have some work
- 14:49Speaker 1: stuff I have to do, so um yeah, I I
- 14:53Speaker 1: forgot how much I love California. It's just the weather
- 14:56Speaker 1: is so nice. Although it's very hot today. It's so
- 15:00Speaker 1: I'm in the valley and it is like over a
- 15:01Speaker 1: hundred degrees already. Yeah, the same. I'm like, wait a minute,
- 15:05Speaker 1: my Nashville. This humidity is like it's like you can
- 15:08Speaker 1: just feel it, like it feels like Nashville. So I'm like,
- 15:10Speaker 1: all right, I got a little pizza home with me here.
- 15:12Speaker 1: Ye how are you? I'm good? I yeah, I'm doing
- 15:16Speaker 1: as good as can be inspected that you know. Happy
- 15:18Speaker 1: life is opening up over here now, like we can
- 15:21Speaker 1: go out do things without masks. Like feeling good, feeling good.
- 15:26Speaker 1: All right, let's get into chits. Let's please, let's please
- 15:30Speaker 1: talk about it, Okay, So Jana, like myself, I had
- 15:35Speaker 1: my boobs done after I had my son Cruise, and
- 15:39Speaker 1: it's something I had thought about for a long time.
- 15:43Speaker 1: But I also was in like a really tough place
- 15:48Speaker 1: in my life, like in a really low place when
- 15:50Speaker 1: I decided to get them done. And I remember being
- 15:53Speaker 1: the you know, the recovery being hard, but I also
- 15:56Speaker 1: now know years later, like how much I love them. Yes,
- 16:01Speaker 1: and so going into how you know, how are you feeling?
- 16:04Speaker 1: What made you finally like make the plunge for sure?
- 16:08Speaker 1: So I like a few years ago, Um, I wanted
- 16:14Speaker 1: to get them, but I think I didn't want to
- 16:16Speaker 1: get them for myself, Like it was one of those
- 16:18Speaker 1: things where I kind of think, or I know that
- 16:20Speaker 1: I was more self conscious of my body and you
- 16:23Speaker 1: know just how your boobs changed when you have kids. Um,
- 16:27Speaker 1: it's one of those things where I was just super
- 16:29Speaker 1: self conscious about and you know, I wanted to feel sexier.
- 16:34Speaker 1: But again I think I was doing it. If I
- 16:36Speaker 1: would have done it, then I would have probably gotten
- 16:39Speaker 1: bigger than I wanted to, Like it wouldn't have been
- 16:41Speaker 1: like for what I wanted. So I'm first of all,
- 16:44Speaker 1: I'm so glad that I waited because I waited when
- 16:47Speaker 1: it was the right time for me, and it just
- 16:49Speaker 1: it was one of those things where I was like, okay,
- 16:52Speaker 1: like and it's so hard because like in this day
- 16:54Speaker 1: and age, like you know, we want to be proud
- 16:56Speaker 1: of our bodies, and I think you can be both.
- 16:58Speaker 1: I think you can be proud of your body, but
- 17:00Speaker 1: I think you can also want to change things as well,
- 17:02Speaker 1: and I think there's no shame in that. And I
- 17:03Speaker 1: think you can love your body regardless. And for me,
- 17:06Speaker 1: I was like, you know what, I don't like the
- 17:08Speaker 1: way that this looks. I don't it didn't go back
- 17:10Speaker 1: to normal like my like this is like tm I
- 17:13Speaker 1: but like my Ariel was, I was like, oh my god,
- 17:15Speaker 1: they stretched so much when I was pregnant. They didn't
- 17:17Speaker 1: go back out. So it was just like I just
- 17:18Speaker 1: have like this big old like and I'm like and
- 17:22Speaker 1: then like you know, saggy boobs. I was like, you
- 17:24Speaker 1: know what, like I what do what does Janna want?
- 17:27Speaker 1: And I was like, okay, I want a small but
- 17:29Speaker 1: yet you know, full size, and I want reconstruction of
- 17:32Speaker 1: the nipple and like it was and now like I'm
- 17:35Speaker 1: like constantly like people like and I never understood it,
- 17:37Speaker 1: like when people got boobs, like you want to see
- 17:39Speaker 1: my boobs, and I was like, sure, but now you
- 17:41Speaker 1: want to see my boobs like I go around, you
- 17:43Speaker 1: want to see my boots because I just I love them,
- 17:46Speaker 1: like I'm and I and I'm so happy that I
- 17:49Speaker 1: made the decisions for myself. And then I didn't listen
- 17:52Speaker 1: to other people being like, oh, you should love your
- 17:53Speaker 1: body the way you should. Yes, I one thousand percent
- 17:55Speaker 1: agree with you, But I also think it's okay to
- 17:57Speaker 1: change and do things that can make you a little
- 18:00Speaker 1: more confident or make you feel better in your own skin. Yeah,
- 18:04Speaker 1: and I think you know, while I'm gonna ask you
- 18:06Speaker 1: how you ended up picking your surgeon and whatnot, But
- 18:08Speaker 1: like when I picked mine, I remember loving her because
- 18:12Speaker 1: I was like asking me, I'm like, listen, I'm athletic.
- 18:15Speaker 1: I don't want to have like big old knockers like
- 18:18Speaker 1: I just want them. I want to be able to
- 18:20Speaker 1: not have to wear bra And she was like like,
- 18:24Speaker 1: I want to be able to wear like a cute
- 18:26Speaker 1: tank top and just be all right. And she's like
- 18:28Speaker 1: looked at me and she's like, all right, you know
- 18:30Speaker 1: this is the CCS. We think she goes, but I'm
- 18:32Speaker 1: gonna need to cut, like I'm gonna need to do
- 18:34Speaker 1: nipple reconstruction on you. I never even knew that was
- 18:36Speaker 1: a thing. And I was like, what do you mean
- 18:38Speaker 1: And she's like, well, I mean you want me to
- 18:41Speaker 1: be blunt. I'm like yes. She's like they're like pencil erasers.
- 18:43Speaker 1: They're so long. And I was like what, yeah. Yeah.
- 18:48Speaker 1: My my doctor was like with my like varial as
- 18:51Speaker 1: or whatever. He was like, it looks like you've got
- 18:52Speaker 1: like two large salamis. And I was like okay, Like okay,
- 18:56Speaker 1: we didn't have to be like me, but you're like okay,
- 19:00Speaker 1: And then I was. But now it's like so I
- 19:02Speaker 1: was like, wow, so many other things changed other than
- 19:06Speaker 1: just the fact that like, yeah, I don't have to
- 19:07Speaker 1: wear a bra, but also I like don't have constant,
- 19:10Speaker 1: like hard nipples that I'm like having to wear padded
- 19:13Speaker 1: bras and do all of these things. So like, for me,
- 19:15Speaker 1: it had multiple benefits. But how did you pick your surgeon?
- 19:19Speaker 1: So I had met with a few surgeons um in
- 19:22Speaker 1: Los Angeles before I had moved to Nashville, and I
- 19:26Speaker 1: kept saying that the doctors like no, like I want
- 19:28Speaker 1: I want them to be small, and they're like no, no, no,
- 19:29Speaker 1: like you're gonna want to go bigger, you should get
- 19:31Speaker 1: at least three three ccs and like no, like I
- 19:35Speaker 1: don't like how that looks. And because they did like
- 19:37Speaker 1: the three D thing, I was like, I would prefer
- 19:39Speaker 1: that the smaller ones. But I felt like he kept
- 19:41Speaker 1: like wanting to push me. He's like every girl who's
- 19:44Speaker 1: out of surgery and says they wish they were bigger.
- 19:45Speaker 1: And I'm like, okay, well I'm not that person, like
- 19:47Speaker 1: I want them again like you like I'm like I
- 19:49Speaker 1: like to run. I like I'm very athletic, like I
- 19:51Speaker 1: don't I don't want to be, you know, like dealing
- 19:54Speaker 1: with jugs as well. So, um, when I met with
- 19:58Speaker 1: my doctor Unger Nashville, he was just like he got me.
- 20:02Speaker 1: He's like, you want cute, perky, you know, like just
- 20:06Speaker 1: nice rounded fits your body so much so that I
- 20:09Speaker 1: trusted him that on day of surgery, I was like, hey,
- 20:11Speaker 1: if you want to go bigger, like I trust you.
- 20:13Speaker 1: If you think it fits my body, I trust you.
- 20:16Speaker 1: And so he tried like he put in like these
- 20:18Speaker 1: um like different size implants and He's like, it just
- 20:22Speaker 1: didn't look good on your body. So I ended up
- 20:24Speaker 1: he ended up taking some fat out of my right
- 20:26Speaker 1: boob because my right boob was always gonna be bigger.
- 20:29Speaker 1: But he put to sixty in my right boob and
- 20:31Speaker 1: two eighty in my left, and I just again, I
- 20:34Speaker 1: totally trusted him, and he just made me feel really comfortable.
- 20:38Speaker 1: And uh, you know a lot of I got so
- 20:41Speaker 1: many comments about like b I I, and you know,
- 20:43Speaker 1: why would I do this? And I'm putting, you know,
- 20:46Speaker 1: toxic stuff into my body. But he just calmed my
- 20:49Speaker 1: nerves about all of it. And I will be honest
- 20:51Speaker 1: with you. When I looked at the b I I stuff,
- 20:53Speaker 1: I was like, I don't even have boots and I
- 20:54Speaker 1: have all the symptoms. So I've had to mute some
- 20:57Speaker 1: people because they know about it so much that I'm like, oh,
- 21:01Speaker 1: I do you know what? I am tired? You know
- 21:04Speaker 1: what I do anxiety? I am very tired, and I
- 21:08Speaker 1: have confusion sometimes, and I'm not I'm not knocking people
- 21:11Speaker 1: that have it, and I have I have empathy for
- 21:13Speaker 1: people that do go through it, but I don't think
- 21:15Speaker 1: that's everyone's experience, and I don't think they should push
- 21:17Speaker 1: that on everyone that it's going to happen to us, Yeah,
- 21:19Speaker 1: to to every to each his own, and you have
- 21:21Speaker 1: to do what kind of like makes you feel the best.
- 21:24Speaker 1: But a lot of people don't know about like that
- 21:26Speaker 1: fat fat transfer part. Like I remember, I end up
- 21:30Speaker 1: getting like two tensecs. They also told us like do
- 21:33Speaker 1: you want it to be under the muscle? Do you
- 21:35Speaker 1: want it to be like I forget the shapes, but
- 21:37Speaker 1: they ask you like different shapes, like do you want
- 21:39Speaker 1: it to be rounded at the top or do you
- 21:41Speaker 1: want it more job. I wanted more of like I
- 21:43Speaker 1: didn't want a big right here. I just wanted it
- 21:45Speaker 1: like a low profile yeah, low profile. Yeah. So I
- 21:48Speaker 1: did that. But then they're like, okay, so we found
- 21:50Speaker 1: a spot that will take the fat from if we
- 21:53Speaker 1: need to like give you more volume. And I remember
- 21:56Speaker 1: the first they said they were gonna take it like
- 21:58Speaker 1: in between my thighs or something like that. And I
- 22:00Speaker 1: remember the first thing I woke up from anesthesia was like,
- 22:04Speaker 1: did you take the fat from then? Thoughts? And she goes, no,
- 22:09Speaker 1: we didn't need it, and I was like shucks, I know,
- 22:12Speaker 1: I know, and it part of me, like one of
- 22:15Speaker 1: my girlfriends was doing the mommy like makeover with some
- 22:17Speaker 1: light bo and honestly, for a few minutes debated it
- 22:21Speaker 1: because I was like, I've always like had even as
- 22:24Speaker 1: a kid, I've always had like a little like tummy
- 22:26Speaker 1: pat poch and I have no matter like what I do,
- 22:28Speaker 1: drink run like, it's kind of always there. And I
- 22:30Speaker 1: was like, man, that'd be kind of nice. But he
- 22:33Speaker 1: did tell me that it hurts really bad, and I
- 22:35Speaker 1: was like, I don't want to be in pain everywhere,
- 22:37Speaker 1: so um, and I ended up just being like, you
- 22:39Speaker 1: know what, I like my little mommy pooch. I'm cool
- 22:41Speaker 1: with it. But I didn't you know, I don't knock
- 22:43Speaker 1: anyone that does the mommy makeover because I have a
- 22:44Speaker 1: friend that did it and she looks banging. So I'm
- 22:46Speaker 1: kind of like, oh, shoot, there's always time if we
- 22:49Speaker 1: end up later on. What was the recovery like with kids?
- 22:54Speaker 1: So I was worried about that because they say for
- 22:56Speaker 1: six weeks he can't lived anything more than ten pounds,
- 22:58Speaker 1: and my son Jay's is too and so you still requires,
- 23:01Speaker 1: you know, to lift he's still in a crib, so
- 23:02Speaker 1: lift in and out of a crib. At the time,
- 23:05Speaker 1: my my ax um. He cut the crib where we
- 23:08Speaker 1: can open it like a so he just like kind
- 23:11Speaker 1: of walk in there. So that was the only part
- 23:13Speaker 1: that was kind of a bummer, because there was times
- 23:14Speaker 1: when Jason was like up up and I was like, no, mommy,
- 23:16Speaker 1: boo boo's remember, like Mommy can't pick you up. But
- 23:19Speaker 1: it went by really fast, and I'm gonna be honest
- 23:21Speaker 1: with you. The first three days I called my doctor
- 23:25Speaker 1: and I was like, this tight feeling on my chest,
- 23:27Speaker 1: this heaviness. I don't like, like is that going to
- 23:29Speaker 1: go away? Because I don't. I don't. I don't like it,
- 23:31Speaker 1: like it's causing the anxiety because I I do suffer
- 23:34Speaker 1: with anxiety. So that feeling like I couldn't breathe or
- 23:37Speaker 1: it was super tight. I didn't like that. I felt
- 23:40Speaker 1: like I had like dumbbells on my chest. But then
- 23:42Speaker 1: I took the I took the medicine. I think it
- 23:45Speaker 1: was percocepts. I took those for two days and then
- 23:47Speaker 1: I moved to Addville, and honestly, the pain was really minimal.
- 23:51Speaker 1: The only thing that bothered me was just the tightness
- 23:52Speaker 1: in the chest, and I think that lasted for six days.
- 23:54Speaker 1: So I just was like high on value for like
- 23:56Speaker 1: a week and it was great. So well that for me.
- 24:00Speaker 1: The hardest part was, you know, my kids were younger too,
- 24:04Speaker 1: but it was trying to sleep a stomach sleeper and
- 24:08Speaker 1: generate and I would wake up in the middle of
- 24:11Speaker 1: the night laying on my stomach and like pain. I'm
- 24:13Speaker 1: like why did my body let me roll over onto
- 24:16Speaker 1: this pain? Like why did I do this? And I
- 24:18Speaker 1: also was scared to take the medication for more than
- 24:21Speaker 1: like two days because you know how like highly addictive
- 24:24Speaker 1: it can be. So I was like onto advil, but
- 24:27Speaker 1: I would wake up in the middle of the night,
- 24:28Speaker 1: like why why am I in this position? Like I
- 24:31Speaker 1: had to get that punch to my back and that
- 24:34Speaker 1: was that was a really that was probably the hardest
- 24:36Speaker 1: for me because the same like I'm a stomach sleeper,
- 24:38Speaker 1: I starfish like on my stomach and to sleep on
- 24:41Speaker 1: my back was just so uncomfortable. But yeah, once I
- 24:44Speaker 1: hit like the four or five weeks, I was kind
- 24:45Speaker 1: of able to go like a little bit on my side.
- 24:48Speaker 1: And now I'm back to stomach sleeping and I'm ten
- 24:50Speaker 1: weeks post surgery, so um, and I feel good, like honestly,
- 24:55Speaker 1: it's it's and I didn't think it was bad at all.
- 24:57Speaker 1: And but I mean I've had C sections and a
- 24:59Speaker 1: few other stomach surgeries like with my appendix and BLAE ladders,
- 25:02Speaker 1: so I feel like it's not that painful in my experience. Yeah,
- 25:06Speaker 1: well they look amazing and in closing, because I know
- 25:08Speaker 1: you gotta go. Um, do you have any regrets? Are
- 25:11Speaker 1: you thrilled you did it? I have zero, zero, zero
- 25:15Speaker 1: zero regrets. I'm happy with the size again, like I
- 25:18Speaker 1: trusted my surgeon I have Honestly, my only regret is
- 25:22Speaker 1: I didn't do it sooner. Yeah, that's only right. It happens. Well,
- 25:28Speaker 1: thank you so much for sharing your experience, and I
- 25:31Speaker 1: love you. I love you too. I hope to see
- 25:33Speaker 1: you soon. Okay, yes, please bye bye, honey. First of all,

- 26:10Speaker 1: we have a podcast called Drama Queens. I feel like
- 26:14Speaker 1: it's a walk down memory lane that also might be
- 26:16Speaker 1: a little bit of a stumble down memory lane. I
- 26:19Speaker 1: mean we'll have cocktails sometimes, so we might leave stumbling.
- 26:23Speaker 1: I'm good with that. There are no fans like One
- 26:25Speaker 1: Tree Hill fans. There is no family like our family.
- 26:29Speaker 1: So we got together to do a rewatch podcast to

- 26:50Speaker 1: right like um Jamie's out of the house. She might
- 26:53Speaker 1: she might be finally ready to live out those wild
- 26:56Speaker 1: years that she cut. You know what I mean. I
- 27:00Speaker 1: think it might be time. I'm going to say a
- 27:02Speaker 1: lot of therapy. Peyton Sawyer is in so much therapy
- 27:07Speaker 1: right now, well not long ago. I found my vote
- 27:11Speaker 1: Brooke Davis for President pinn. I don't know it's Brook
- 27:13Speaker 1: Davis a senator or something. There's so much cool stuff
- 27:19Speaker 1: to imagine for them, but before we can go forward,
- 27:22Speaker 1: we got to go back to the beginning. You nailed it.
- 27:28Speaker 1: Make sure you all listen to Drama Queens on the

- 28:12Speaker 1: and now we're gonna bring on our final guest, Dr
- 28:15Speaker 1: Kelly Colleen. She is one of the new breakout star
- 28:20Speaker 1: doctors on DR nine, O two and oh on East,
- 28:23Speaker 1: So make sure you tune and not to mention an
- 28:25Speaker 1: incredible surgeon. So we are going to ask all of
- 28:29Speaker 1: the listener questions. Sorry, I'm just throwing them at you
- 28:32Speaker 1: because we're short on time and I need all of
- 28:34Speaker 1: your infa perfect guy. We're gonna start with botox fillers.
- 28:39Speaker 1: These are all from like listeners of Teapot that they submitted.
- 28:42Speaker 1: So how old should I slash can I start? I
- 28:46Speaker 1: mean it honestly just depends on what's going on with
- 28:48Speaker 1: your face. I have done botox on people as young
- 28:50Speaker 1: as their mid teens, and so if you have what's
- 28:53Speaker 1: called a writed at rest or a wrinkle at rest
- 28:56Speaker 1: that's there even when you're not using your muscle, there
- 28:59Speaker 1: is nothing about starting botox early. I'm not a big
- 29:02Speaker 1: fan of extensive botox if there's nothing going on in
- 29:05Speaker 1: your face, like, don't don't waste your money. But if
- 29:07Speaker 1: you've got an actual problem, go for its. Sister. And
- 29:10Speaker 1: people always say, oh, if you get bow talks earlier,
- 29:13Speaker 1: it's preventative later. Is that true? It can absolutely be
- 29:17Speaker 1: true if you're someone who's very active, like I'm so
- 29:20Speaker 1: active in my forehead. I just that's how I emote
- 29:22Speaker 1: when I talk. So starting botox in your mid late
- 29:25Speaker 1: twenties is a great idea if you're someone where you
- 29:27Speaker 1: can see it where it's gonna go a long term.
- 29:30Speaker 1: If you're not super active in an area, do not
- 29:33Speaker 1: waste your money. If you're a big smiler and around
- 29:35Speaker 1: your eyes you can already see those rinkles forming in
- 29:37Speaker 1: your mid late twenties, go for it. You could potentially
- 29:40Speaker 1: prevent something that was permanent. Speaking of prevention, does getting
- 29:44Speaker 1: botox help people with T MJ and migrains? Like? Do
- 29:48Speaker 1: you believe in that? Absolutely? And it's well documented to
- 29:51Speaker 1: work in both things. The key is that seeing a
- 29:54Speaker 1: skilled practitioner that places it properly. If your your neighborhood
- 29:58Speaker 1: met spat and they're not really doing the right ofvaluation
- 30:00Speaker 1: and placement, you're you're you're just wasting your money. Go
- 30:03Speaker 1: to someone who knows what they're doing. So would you
- 30:06Speaker 1: recommend always to go to an actual doctor to get botox?
- 30:12Speaker 1: You necessarily need to. I think you just need to
- 30:14Speaker 1: be understand what you're doing. When you go to a
- 30:17Speaker 1: mets fall without good supervision, people are going to sell
- 30:20Speaker 1: you what they have and not necessarily what you need
- 30:22Speaker 1: or what you should have. And so if you're going
- 30:25Speaker 1: someplace that just has a hammer. Everything looks like a
- 30:28Speaker 1: nail to them. And does botox actually help with hooded islands?
- 30:35Speaker 1: You know it can't a little bit, but not a lot.
- 30:38Speaker 1: You can get some mild elevation of the eyebrow when
- 30:41Speaker 1: it's placed properly. You can get some major elevation of
- 30:45Speaker 1: the eyebrow when it's placed poorly. So I would argue
- 30:48Speaker 1: that if you have a hooded island, you have a
- 30:50Speaker 1: droopy island. Solve the problem by having the surgery. Don't
- 30:53Speaker 1: do weird things to your eyebrows. You're gonna regret, That's true.
- 30:57Speaker 1: I've seen that, um And would you say that there's
- 31:04Speaker 1: a big difference between disport and botox? They're pretty equivalent
- 31:10Speaker 1: in my mind, But you're gonna find people that like
- 31:12Speaker 1: one or the other more. I like disport more. I'm
- 31:15Speaker 1: a disport girl. Don't kill me allergy, and I love
- 31:17Speaker 1: you guys too, But it's just for whatever reason, I
- 31:20Speaker 1: like the way it feels and looks on me more.
- 31:22Speaker 1: I say, use whatever you can afford. They're all pretty equivalent.
- 31:27Speaker 1: And what would you say, what would you say similar
- 31:30Speaker 1: in regards to pain as botox, Because people are like,
- 31:33Speaker 1: does botox hurt, does fill a hurt. I personally think
- 31:36Speaker 1: filler hurts a lot more than botox. Totally, A great
- 31:39Speaker 1: filler is a hundred times worse. In my mind, Botox
- 31:42Speaker 1: is kind of like I think it's the equivalent of
- 31:45Speaker 1: plucking an eyebrow hair. Each poke feels about that level
- 31:48Speaker 1: of pain to me. Right, And then what would you
- 31:51Speaker 1: say if somebody had a choice to either get like
- 31:53Speaker 1: laser resurfacing or some different type of laser, or like
- 31:57Speaker 1: start doing botox and filler or do you think they're
- 31:59Speaker 1: too totally separate things? Totally separate things. So laser resurfacing
- 32:05Speaker 1: it's going to improve your overall skin quality and texture,
- 32:08Speaker 1: Botox minimize wrinkles that come from moving muscles, and filler
- 32:12Speaker 1: is going to add back volume. Again, make sure you
- 32:15Speaker 1: know whoever you're going to see knows how to do
- 32:18Speaker 1: all of these things, because they're always going to do
- 32:20Speaker 1: the same thing if that's the only thing they have
- 32:22Speaker 1: to sell, and it doesn't solve the right problem. So
- 32:24Speaker 1: how do you think that people can actually be sure
- 32:28Speaker 1: that they're going to a good place and that that
- 32:30Speaker 1: person is reputable and is able to do a good
- 32:33Speaker 1: job for them. Well, I mean, I think in general,
- 32:36Speaker 1: I think the absolute best botox filler laser management is
- 32:40Speaker 1: done by plastic surgeons and dermatologists because we know it
- 32:44Speaker 1: all and we have access to it all. I think
- 32:47Speaker 1: if you go someplace that has a plastic surgeon or
- 32:50Speaker 1: a dermatologist that work there and not only just a
- 32:52Speaker 1: medical director, but physically present several times during the week,
- 32:56Speaker 1: you have that backup and you have that knowledge to
- 32:59Speaker 1: make really good decisions so you don't waste your money.
- 33:02Speaker 1: I mean, your money is valuable. Put it where it's
- 33:04Speaker 1: gonna actually fix what you wanted to fix. And I
- 33:07Speaker 1: know that filler can be dissolved. Can botox be dissolved?
- 33:12Speaker 1: So unfortunately no, So if botox is placed poorly, you're
- 33:17Speaker 1: stuck with it for a couple of weeks to a
- 33:19Speaker 1: couple of months, depending on what the complication is. Um
- 33:22Speaker 1: that's what people love and hate about botox. And you know,
- 33:24Speaker 1: if you love it, it's also gone in a few
- 33:26Speaker 1: weeks to a month. Right, It just depends on how
- 33:29Speaker 1: your body metabolism metabolizing it. Right. And then how come
- 33:34Speaker 1: this question was a lot, But how come some people
- 33:37Speaker 1: that get filler start to look kind of all Look
- 33:40Speaker 1: the same, almost like cat ladies, like, what what's happening there?
- 33:44Speaker 1: And how do you avoid that occurring to you? That
- 33:48Speaker 1: happens from poorly placed filler. End of story. People that
- 33:52Speaker 1: look like that have too much place in the wrong places.
- 33:55Speaker 1: So often what happens is people see their faces coming
- 33:58Speaker 1: down and they're told, if you put lots of it
- 34:00Speaker 1: up here, your face moves up. And that's certainly the case,
- 34:03Speaker 1: but you don't look human. You start looking like a
- 34:05Speaker 1: very pretty alien and it's a bad look. And once
- 34:08Speaker 1: you start getting botox, is it a must to continue
- 34:11Speaker 1: or could you get it and be like, oh, I
- 34:13Speaker 1: like it? Or does it do you a disservice to
- 34:16Speaker 1: not get it that next time? Are you going to
- 34:17Speaker 1: start developing those wrinkles again and make bigger lines or
- 34:20Speaker 1: what are your thoughts on that? I mean, it really
- 34:22Speaker 1: depends on what you're treating. If you have some wrinkles
- 34:24Speaker 1: you don't like and you want to soften them, you
- 34:26Speaker 1: have to do it consistently because every time it wears off,
- 34:29Speaker 1: that muscle pulls on that skin informs the wrinkle again,
- 34:33Speaker 1: and it's not going to get softer with time. If
- 34:35Speaker 1: you do it consistently, the wrinkle get softer and softer
- 34:38Speaker 1: and softer, and sometimes even completely goes away if you
- 34:40Speaker 1: do it consistently for a year or two. If you're
- 34:43Speaker 1: doing preventative botox and you don't really have a defined rinkle,
- 34:46Speaker 1: you're not really doing anything bad by skipping, you know,
- 34:49Speaker 1: every couple months and then coming back once or twice
- 34:52Speaker 1: a year. Right, all right, we're moving on to boobs.
- 34:55Speaker 1: We're moving on to boobs best augmentation. And this I
- 34:59Speaker 1: actually need to know. Even though somebody in your office,
- 35:02Speaker 1: Dr Lisa Casala, who I love, did my boobs I
- 35:05Speaker 1: don't think I paid attention to when she told me.
- 35:09Speaker 1: Is it true that you need to have your boobs
- 35:11Speaker 1: touched up or redone every ten years? It's absolutely true.
- 35:15Speaker 1: Once you have a silicone breast implant, they are a
- 35:18Speaker 1: you know, device that has to be changed. They're not
- 35:20Speaker 1: meant to be there for life. The reason why is
- 35:23Speaker 1: because they're soft and they have wrinkles in them, even
- 35:25Speaker 1: if you can't see them through the skin, and that
- 35:27Speaker 1: wrinkle rubs, rubs, rubs for years, and it creates a
- 35:30Speaker 1: weak point that ruptures one. Silicone implants ruptures. They're they're
- 35:34Speaker 1: just very problematic and cause all kinds of complications, and
- 35:37Speaker 1: so we need to get in there switch them out
- 35:40Speaker 1: before they have the chance to cause problems. So, once
- 35:43Speaker 1: you have an implant, it's like any type of health maintenance.
- 35:45Speaker 1: It's like a colonoscopy. Every ten of fifteen years, you're
- 35:48Speaker 1: gonna come in have a small procedure, Suck it up
- 35:50Speaker 1: and do it. It's the right thing to do to
- 35:52Speaker 1: stay stay healthy and safe and preserve your beautiful breast
- 35:55Speaker 1: long term. And as this procedure the same type of
- 35:59Speaker 1: recovery is the first time you get your boobs done.
- 36:01Speaker 1: Or is it easier or is it more simple. It's
- 36:04Speaker 1: much easier for most patients because you've already had the
- 36:07Speaker 1: pocket created. So if your breast look great going into
- 36:10Speaker 1: that procedure, it's gonna be a really no big deal thing.
- 36:13Speaker 1: You'll be back to normal much quicker than the original surgery.
- 36:16Speaker 1: If you've had problems, though, it might be just as
- 36:18Speaker 1: longer longer, But most women, it's just a simple in
- 36:21Speaker 1: and out switch the implant to a newer version, and
- 36:24Speaker 1: every couple of years we get a newer, stronger, sturdier version.
- 36:28Speaker 1: Hopefully we'll get more than ten to fifteen years out
- 36:31Speaker 1: of easing plants in the future. Oh, that's great. And
- 36:33Speaker 1: then for people that you know went went bigger, were like,
- 36:36Speaker 1: you know, I feel like the style was bigger, you know,
- 36:39Speaker 1: a little while ago, and now they want to have
- 36:41Speaker 1: smaller boobs, but they still want the same Do they
- 36:44Speaker 1: then need a lift or how does that happen? Will
- 36:48Speaker 1: your boobs just adjust to having a smaller size, you know,
- 36:51Speaker 1: it's it can be either one. It really depends on
- 36:53Speaker 1: your personal skin. And then also how droopy your breasts
- 36:58Speaker 1: are at a baseline. So many women can downsize with
- 37:01Speaker 1: no lift and the skin and tissue will shrink up
- 37:04Speaker 1: over six months or so and it will look beautiful
- 37:06Speaker 1: and they don't require the extra scars. Some women they
- 37:09Speaker 1: just their skin is to loose. Their skin quality is
- 37:12Speaker 1: not great because the sunbathing or smoking, and they really
- 37:15Speaker 1: need to have a lift to tighten the skin around
- 37:18Speaker 1: that smaller implant. I will tell you nobody wants to
- 37:21Speaker 1: have a lift when they come into my office. But
- 37:23Speaker 1: I've never had a patient come back and say, man,
- 37:25Speaker 1: I wish I didn't do that lift. I think the
- 37:27Speaker 1: trade is so so good. It's like it gives you
- 37:30Speaker 1: that beautiful, perky shape that you've been missing. And what
- 37:33Speaker 1: if in five years from now, I said, you know what,
- 37:35Speaker 1: I want my implants out, but I still want, you know,
- 37:38Speaker 1: to feel confident with my boobs and blah blah blah.
- 37:40Speaker 1: If I took the implant out and I got a lift,
- 37:43Speaker 1: would I have a similar type of result? Yeah? So,
- 37:46Speaker 1: I mean an implant and breast never looks like a
- 37:49Speaker 1: natural breast. It just tends to look more round and
- 37:51Speaker 1: has volume higher where a natural breast not. I personally
- 37:54Speaker 1: think natural breasts are beautiful. I think women look amazing
- 37:57Speaker 1: when their implants come out. You often need to do
- 38:00Speaker 1: a little bit of work, though you can't just pull
- 38:02Speaker 1: it out. The muscle needs to be repaired or it
- 38:04Speaker 1: starts doing weird things. You need sometimes fat grafting to
- 38:07Speaker 1: repair some of the sitting and stretching that the implant cause.
- 38:11Speaker 1: And then plus or minus a lift, depending on how
- 38:13Speaker 1: large your implants are and your tissue quality. Um, I
- 38:16Speaker 1: think women look great with their implants out. I know
- 38:18Speaker 1: many women are told you're gonna look terrible, you have
- 38:20Speaker 1: to have them forever. That is just not the case.
- 38:22Speaker 1: That's good, that well, that's exciting. And then what is
- 38:27Speaker 1: the average cost of getting your like breast augmentation and
- 38:35Speaker 1: a left So it's really going to depend on where
- 38:38Speaker 1: you live because it's very regionally dependent. But I would
- 38:41Speaker 1: say probably an average would be anywhere from fifteen to
- 38:44Speaker 1: thirty thousand dollars for those two procedures from a board
- 38:47Speaker 1: certified plastic surgeon. And remember you want a board certified
- 38:51Speaker 1: plastic surgeon who is board certified by the American Board
- 38:54Speaker 1: of Plastic Surgery. Okay, guys, to make sure you check
- 38:57Speaker 1: that part. How common is breast implant illness and what
- 39:01Speaker 1: are your thoughts on that? So the trick is, we
- 39:04Speaker 1: really don't know. There's never been great studies on it.
- 39:07Speaker 1: You know. All we have is the studies that look
- 39:09Speaker 1: at kind of general happiness with your implants, and in general,
- 39:14Speaker 1: a vast majority of women upwards of nine for both
- 39:17Speaker 1: cosmetic and reconstructive patients like their implants at ten years.
- 39:21Speaker 1: Breast implant illness is a real thing. There's some women
- 39:23Speaker 1: that just don't play well with implants, and we're not
- 39:26Speaker 1: exactly sure who those women are. There's some active studies
- 39:29Speaker 1: going on right now. There's one that will hopefully come
- 39:32Speaker 1: out near the end of the summer where some of
- 39:34Speaker 1: my brilliant colleagues have looked at the proper treatment of
- 39:36Speaker 1: breast implant illness and what surgeries when you remove the
- 39:40Speaker 1: implant are the right way to go. UM. There are
- 39:43Speaker 1: very vocal, active crowd online and so I know a
- 39:46Speaker 1: lot of the information is scary to patients. I always
- 39:49Speaker 1: try to remind people that they're a wonderful support group,
- 39:52Speaker 1: but they only see themselves. They only see other women
- 39:55Speaker 1: that have problems, and so they start to believe that
- 39:58Speaker 1: everybody with implants has problems, and that's just not not reality. UM.
- 40:03Speaker 1: Implants can certainly cause issues, but most women are happy.
- 40:06Speaker 1: I have rest in plants. I love them. UM. I
- 40:09Speaker 1: continue to be happy with them, and I have them
- 40:12Speaker 1: for twenty years now. So I think you just have
- 40:15Speaker 1: to have these discussions with your doctor. But the reality
- 40:18Speaker 1: is it's a real thing, and it's a real complication
- 40:20Speaker 1: of potential risk, and your doctors should talk to you
- 40:22Speaker 1: about it if you're having an implant place And how
- 40:26Speaker 1: do you know if somebody comes in and like, maybe
- 40:29Speaker 1: plastic surgery isn't the best thing for them mentally or physically,
- 40:32Speaker 1: whatever it may be, Like, what are some of the
- 40:35Speaker 1: signs you look for? I mean, I remember when I
- 40:37Speaker 1: first came into your offices and Dr Casella looked at me,
- 40:41Speaker 1: and I was looking to get my boobs done. And
- 40:43Speaker 1: this is before you know, I kind of went all
- 40:45Speaker 1: in and changed my life and all of these things.
- 40:47Speaker 1: And then I was telling her I also wanted to
- 40:50Speaker 1: get a tummy tuck. And I remember this like it
- 40:53Speaker 1: was yesterday, because she looked at me and she's like,
- 40:56Speaker 1: I will one million percent to your boobs. I'm not
- 40:59Speaker 1: doing a tummy tuk up on you. This is something
- 41:01Speaker 1: you can do on your own. You know, you don't
- 41:05Speaker 1: need it, like, and I just appreciate appreciated her honesty,
- 41:09Speaker 1: and it also made me go wow, like, uh, you
- 41:12Speaker 1: know somebody that didn't want to take my money. That's huge,
- 41:15Speaker 1: like and it like made it made me feel empowered
- 41:18Speaker 1: that I could make some changes and get myself to
- 41:22Speaker 1: a place starts feeling better. And then she goes, Listen,
- 41:23Speaker 1: if you make these changes and you come back in
- 41:25Speaker 1: six months and you still want a tummy talk, we'll
- 41:27Speaker 1: talk about it. But how often will surgeons really give
- 41:30Speaker 1: it to you like that? I mean, unfortunately, in my experience,
- 41:34Speaker 1: not as often as they should. You know, I I
- 41:36Speaker 1: think the best person in your corner is a surgeon
- 41:39Speaker 1: that's going to be honest with you, and I think
- 41:40Speaker 1: that's true of anything in life. Everybody should surround themselves
- 41:43Speaker 1: by friends and family that tell you the truth. Unfortunately,
- 41:47Speaker 1: with plastic surgery, if you have a credit card and
- 41:49Speaker 1: wave and around, someone's gonna take it. So you just
- 41:52Speaker 1: have to be very careful who you choose. The things
- 41:55Speaker 1: that I find the boring signs or when women don't
- 41:57Speaker 1: know what they want, they're just unhappy and want something
- 42:00Speaker 1: done and they come in and they're like, tell me
- 42:01Speaker 1: what I need. Uh, nobody needs anything, and so I
- 42:05Speaker 1: don't that's a patient where I just say, hey, I
- 42:07Speaker 1: think you need to kind of re evaluate why you
- 42:10Speaker 1: came into my office. UM. I also don't love when
- 42:13Speaker 1: patients come in and they're doing it for someone. They're saying,
- 42:17Speaker 1: my husband thinks I need bigger boots, my husband makes
- 42:19Speaker 1: fun of this, my boyfriend, my wife, my girlfriend, and
- 42:23Speaker 1: they never talk about what bothers them. They're bothered by
- 42:26Speaker 1: another person being bothered, and I think that's a warning sign. UM.
- 42:31Speaker 1: I also think the people that are trying to take
- 42:33Speaker 1: a nine to attend on the scale of perfection. I
- 42:38Speaker 1: think that, Um, I really hate that people don't appreciate
- 42:42Speaker 1: and love the bodies that they're in. And I think
- 42:45Speaker 1: that's why I love all In And I followed you
- 42:47Speaker 1: for a long time. I've known you for a long too,
- 42:50Speaker 1: but I love I think the focus really should be
- 42:53Speaker 1: on fixing things that aren't fixable with a healthy lifestyle.
- 42:57Speaker 1: And you know, the skin that stretches out for um,
- 43:00Speaker 1: having babies, that's that's not fixable with diet and exercise.
- 43:03Speaker 1: You know, if you have it a normal area of
- 43:05Speaker 1: lcodistrophet like saddle bags, you are healthy weight and you
- 43:09Speaker 1: do everything right, but you have a funny area of fact.
- 43:12Speaker 1: Those are wonderful things to fix with plastic surgery, and
- 43:14Speaker 1: I'm supportive of that, but I really think we need
- 43:17Speaker 1: to start focusing on loving our bodies and what our
- 43:20Speaker 1: bodies do for us, and stop finding fault with every
- 43:23Speaker 1: inch of a woman's body and and trying to chase
- 43:26Speaker 1: this impossible perfection that just doesn't really exist in real life.
- 43:30Speaker 1: I mean, you know, you've been around celebrities more than me.
- 43:33Speaker 1: They don't look like what they look like. Yeah, I mean,
- 43:36Speaker 1: it's a real right, It's a filtered version, and it's
- 43:40Speaker 1: something that people say to me often is I can't
- 43:43Speaker 1: believe you know, like you know, you lost all this way,
- 43:46Speaker 1: you lost you know, pounds, Like what's happening with all
- 43:50Speaker 1: the loose skin? And I don't see any And I'm like, listen, one,
- 43:54Speaker 1: there's a different angles that show different situations. I have
- 43:57Speaker 1: lou skin if I I wear a lot of highways
- 43:59Speaker 1: to shorts and like our high waisted workout pants, and
- 44:03Speaker 1: when I pull it down, there is a loose skin
- 44:04Speaker 1: at the bottom. But that's one of those things that
- 44:06Speaker 1: like I am, I embrace it. I'm like, listen, this
- 44:09Speaker 1: is who I am. I carried you know, three babies
- 44:13Speaker 1: in this belly, I you know, fluctuated. Wait my entire life.
- 44:16Speaker 1: I'm happy that I got to a place where I
- 44:19Speaker 1: am consistently taking care of myself where I didn't feel
- 44:24Speaker 1: that way when it came to my boobs, Like I
- 44:26Speaker 1: was like, oh my god, you know, like I just
- 44:28Speaker 1: wanted that change. But a lot of people do ask
- 44:30Speaker 1: I want to be able to get rid of the
- 44:32Speaker 1: loose skin. So how do they do that? Yeah? I mean,
- 44:37Speaker 1: you know, loose skin. It it really depends on the
- 44:40Speaker 1: degree of laxity. If it's a little bit loose, there's
- 44:42Speaker 1: wonderful skin tightening machines that can tighten your skin up
- 44:45Speaker 1: to about They do need to be done every eighteen
- 44:49Speaker 1: months to two years because you lose the effect. And
- 44:52Speaker 1: then if you have more than twenty tightening and you
- 44:55Speaker 1: need then you really need to have some kind of
- 44:56Speaker 1: tightening procedure like a tummy tup or a sign lift
- 45:00Speaker 1: or an arm lift. But some of these surgeries have big,
- 45:03Speaker 1: obvious scars that are pathnemonic for the surgery you had done.
- 45:07Speaker 1: And so unless you've had a lot of laxity, I
- 45:09Speaker 1: encourage people to just embrace their beautiful bodies and not
- 45:12Speaker 1: get a scar where everyone scares at you and says, hey,
- 45:15Speaker 1: I know what surgery you had done. Um. I don't
- 45:18Speaker 1: think those surgeries are the right move for someone who
- 45:20Speaker 1: doesn't have a huge amount of skin. And remember every
- 45:23Speaker 1: tightening procedure as a trade. You're trading that loose skin
- 45:26Speaker 1: for a big scar, and so you have to decide
- 45:29Speaker 1: is that trade worth it? Are you trading up? Are
- 45:31Speaker 1: you gonna be trading down? And a lot of women
- 45:34Speaker 1: I see are trading down. They look amazing. They just
- 45:36Speaker 1: have a little bit of laxing. There's no reason to
- 45:39Speaker 1: do that to their body. Um, it's funny what you
- 45:42Speaker 1: just said. I know you're a fellow peloton or I'm
- 45:44Speaker 1: slightly obsessed with it myself. Christ Christian McGhee, who I'm
- 45:48Speaker 1: obsessed with. Um, she's adorable, as are her voice. She
- 45:51Speaker 1: had a post about this last week with her strong
- 45:54Speaker 1: yoga body and she showed her loose stomach from having
- 45:57Speaker 1: her beautiful boys, and I loved it. Made me feel
- 46:00Speaker 1: so good because I'm like, even this strong, badass woman
- 46:04Speaker 1: has the looseness and it's okay and she's not running
- 46:08Speaker 1: to have something done to it. She's okay with it,
- 46:10Speaker 1: and I love that. Yeah, I think you know, and
- 46:12Speaker 1: to each his own, and you figure out, you know
- 46:15Speaker 1: what it is that you want to You know that
- 46:17Speaker 1: you want to change what you can work on and
- 46:18Speaker 1: what you can live with. And for me personally, I
- 46:20Speaker 1: can live with the fact going you know what, Listen,
- 46:22Speaker 1: I'm taking care of me. I'm I'm doing the right steps.
- 46:25Speaker 1: And if you know, further down the line, something changes
- 46:28Speaker 1: and I want to try something or try laser try,
- 46:30Speaker 1: I'm gonna try it, and I'm gonna be open and
- 46:32Speaker 1: vulnerable with it because I think it is you know,
- 46:35Speaker 1: I think that some people keep what they've done to
- 46:37Speaker 1: themselves like really close to the cuff, you know, and
- 46:40Speaker 1: and it's their you know, their option if they want
- 46:42Speaker 1: to share. But I think when it when it does
- 46:44Speaker 1: come to things, I wouldn't ever want to be like,
- 46:46Speaker 1: oh no, I never got my boobs done. They're just
- 46:49Speaker 1: of course they look like this after breastfeeding. It whatever
- 46:52Speaker 1: it may be. So I think, you know, it is
- 46:54Speaker 1: it is great that people are starting to open up
- 46:56Speaker 1: more and talk about it. And then in closing, what
- 46:59Speaker 1: is the biggest red flag? You can tell people that
- 47:02Speaker 1: are going into a surgeon's office that like, this surgeon
- 47:06Speaker 1: isn't for you. You're about to make a mistake with
- 47:08Speaker 1: this person. So I think there's two or three things
- 47:12Speaker 1: that I tell all my patients. The first most important
- 47:14Speaker 1: thing I'm as you know, I'm I'm primarily a revision surgeon.
- 47:17Speaker 1: I'm a fixer of people that are feel like they
- 47:19Speaker 1: didn't get what they wanted the first time around. The
- 47:22Speaker 1: most common thing that leads to this is not having
- 47:25Speaker 1: a good communication with the surgeon. If you feel like
- 47:27Speaker 1: you're being talked to and not listened to, that is
- 47:30Speaker 1: a big red flag. And I think the other thing
- 47:33Speaker 1: is uh not showing you before and actors that are
- 47:36Speaker 1: taken long term that are six months or more out.
- 47:39Speaker 1: And then the last is the hard sell. I think
- 47:42Speaker 1: if someone pushes you hard, tries to convince you not
- 47:45Speaker 1: to see other consults, tries to make you pick a
- 47:48Speaker 1: date on the day of your consultation, that is a
