On Halloween night 2025, a New Hanover County resident was violently robbed while asleep—masked intruders smashed in, assaulted him with a blunt object, and stole his watch, safe, cash, and weed. Two suspects, 19-year-olds Selwyn Davis and Alston Allen, have already pleaded guilty to armed robbery and burglary, receiving 5-7 year sentences after surveillance footage and digital evidence tied them to the crime—including kicking in the door with guns and later appearing on camera.
