- 0:04Speaker 1: out this morning with Andrew Larson from Larsen Home Services
- 0:08Speaker 1: the website Larsenhome Services dot com. That's l A R
- 0:12Speaker 1: S O N Home Services dot com. Tell phone number
- 0:15Speaker 1: six so eight five three five forty three forty three.
- 0:18Speaker 1: That's five three five forty three forty three. And Andrew,
- 0:22Speaker 1: I was looking over a list of the important fall
- 0:25Speaker 1: maintenance procedures for homeowners this time of year. Replace furnace filters,
- 0:30Speaker 1: drain outdoor faucets, clean chimneys, repair driveways. Coming in at
- 0:35Speaker 1: number two seal any air leaks, and at number one
- 0:39Speaker 1: was clean gutters. And I think we're going to hit
- 0:41Speaker 1: those two top ones absolutely for sure this morning. How
- 0:44Speaker 1: you doing, my friend?
- 0:45Speaker 2: We might be looking at we might be looking at
- 0:47Speaker 2: the same list maybe except the list a list that
- 0:51Speaker 2: I'm looking at you. I'm not trying to make it
- 0:54Speaker 2: sound like the stuff we do at Larsenhome Services is
- 0:57Speaker 2: a big deal, but I mean, according to this list,
- 1:00Speaker 2: it's kind of a big deal. Number one, clean your gutters.
- 1:04Speaker 2: Number two clean clean your down spouts. Oh, number three,
- 1:09Speaker 2: rake leaves. I like that one. You gott to rake
- 1:11Speaker 2: the leaves because if you don't, I've done it before.
- 1:14Speaker 2: The snow melts in the spring, it turns to dirt.
- 1:16Speaker 2: It's nasty. Rake the leaves. Number four, inspect your roof. Yeah.
- 1:23Speaker 2: Number six seal air leaks. And honestly, a very important
- 1:29Speaker 2: one is change your furnace filter. A lot of us
- 1:32Speaker 2: probably don't do that that often, but I mean, it's
- 1:34Speaker 2: really made me think of it. This morning. I woke
- 1:35Speaker 2: up and I have a few of a little a
- 1:38Speaker 2: little pond from my house, and there's like steam coming
- 1:41Speaker 2: off of it looks like steam obviously because it's getting
- 1:44Speaker 2: colder out. The leaves are starting to turn color. The
- 1:47Speaker 2: Badgers are playing, the Packers are playing. It is fall,
- 1:49Speaker 2: and we know fall is amazing in Wisconsin and it's
- 1:52Speaker 2: beautiful and I absolutely love it. I hate what comes
- 1:56Speaker 2: after it, but it is what it is, right like,
- 2:00Speaker 2: we've all learned to endure it. But there are some
- 2:02Speaker 2: very important things that we need to do. And I
- 2:06Speaker 2: mean we sell maintenance free gutters every single day. And
- 2:09Speaker 2: listen if I google the most important fall maintenance things
- 2:13Speaker 2: to do, and Google tells me that clean your gutters
- 2:15Speaker 2: are the number one thing. That obviously means that it's
- 2:19Speaker 2: very important because we all just live in the world
- 2:21Speaker 2: that Google has created. Yes, we get our information and
- 2:25Speaker 2: everything from there. But no, but in all seriousness, if
- 2:29Speaker 2: we don't clean gutters in the winter and we don't
- 2:32Speaker 2: make sure that our down spouts are free and clear
- 2:35Speaker 2: for water to flow away from the house, I talk
- 2:36Speaker 2: about this all the time. That is when people end
- 2:40Speaker 2: up having an absolute disaster in the spring because the
- 2:45Speaker 2: gutters fill up, they clog up, then they fill up
- 2:48Speaker 2: with snow, then the snow melts, then they freeze, and
- 2:51Speaker 2: you've got it. You've basically got a chunk of ice
- 2:54Speaker 2: with leaves in it and dirt and sticks. And when
- 2:57Speaker 2: that stuff starts melting in the spring, and heaven for
- 3:00Speaker 2: bid we have one of those early rains. I mean, shoot,
- 3:02Speaker 2: we had thunderstorms at the end of February last Yeah,
- 3:04Speaker 2: I know that was super od, But heaven forbid we
- 3:08Speaker 2: get one of those early rains and your gutters are
- 3:10Speaker 2: full of are full of leaves, frozen leaves and sticks.
- 3:14Speaker 2: That's when we have problems because what else is frozen
- 3:17Speaker 2: the ground around the basement. And when the ground around
- 3:20Speaker 2: the basement is frozen, that water can't soak in and
- 3:23Speaker 2: if it's overflowing right next to your house and you
- 3:25Speaker 2: have any sort of negative grade. And by negative grade,
- 3:29Speaker 2: I mean when that water hits the ground, if it
- 3:31Speaker 2: doesn't run away, it's going to go next to your foundation.
- 3:37Speaker 2: And that's when I always say this, but water will
- 3:39Speaker 2: take the path of least resistance. It will find its
- 3:41Speaker 2: way in. And that's when people will find wet spots.
- 3:44Speaker 2: And even if they don't find wet spots, you'll start
- 3:46Speaker 2: to smell musty, moldy air. And that's when we know
- 3:50Speaker 2: we have a problem. Because a lot of people in
- 3:51Speaker 2: Wisconsin take the opportunity to finish their basements. It's an
- 3:57Speaker 2: inexpensive way to have more living space. And and and
- 4:01Speaker 2: so they get finished, and we get we get mold,
- 4:03Speaker 2: and we get mildew, and you can smell it. And
- 4:07Speaker 2: that's all because we might not have cleaned our gutters. Yeah, Sean,
- 4:10Speaker 2: I mean it's a big deal. And and and and
- 4:13Speaker 2: I love the fact that this list actually says gutter
- 4:16Speaker 2: down spouts. That's like another category because a lot of
- 4:19Speaker 2: times you might clean those gutters. But if you don't,
- 4:23Speaker 2: if you don't look or take off, we call it
- 4:26Speaker 2: a goose neck that's the very top part of the
- 4:29Speaker 2: down spout where it attaches to the gutter and it
- 4:31Speaker 2: has a bend, another bend, and then comes down the house.
- 4:34Speaker 2: We call it a goose neck. But if you're not
- 4:37Speaker 2: cleaning that out or you don't know that that's clean,
- 4:39Speaker 2: it doesn't matter if your gutters are clean, because they're
- 4:42Speaker 2: going to get to there and they're going to overflow anyhow.
- 4:44Speaker 2: So uh and sometimes that can actually be a worse
- 4:47Speaker 2: situation because now it's all overflowing in one spot instead
- 4:52Speaker 2: of continuously across the whole gutter. So cleaning your gutters
- 4:56Speaker 2: and down spouts is extremely important. And that's why, you know,
- 4:59Speaker 2: we talk about this every single day, but especially in
- 5:02Speaker 2: the fall before winter comes. It's something that really needs
- 5:05Speaker 2: to get done.
- 5:06Speaker 1: I know, one of the things that's important to you, Andrew,
- 5:08Speaker 1: is offering solutions and finding ways to avoid these problems.
- 5:11Speaker 1: So we talk about you know, the reason why we're
- 5:13Speaker 1: doing these things in fall. As you point out, spring
- 5:16Speaker 1: can be a horrible, horrible time if things aren't done properly.
- 5:20Speaker 1: We don't prepare properly. Winter can be terrible if you
- 5:22Speaker 1: don't prepare things properly as well. And I know something
- 5:24Speaker 1: gets really important to you, and the team at Largsalm
- 5:27Speaker 1: Services is offering up solutions to prevent these problems. Let's
- 5:31Speaker 1: talk first, off's talk a little bit about gutter shutter
- 5:34Speaker 1: and what makes it so phenomenal and why folks that
- 5:36Speaker 1: have gutter shutter can already check that check that number
- 5:39Speaker 1: one thing right off their list without having to lift
- 5:41Speaker 1: a finger other than pick up the pen and make
- 5:43Speaker 1: the little mark.
- 5:44Speaker 2: Absolutely you know so, I mean, obviously I have gutter
- 5:51Speaker 2: shutter on my house. We sell gutter shutter, we install
- 5:54Speaker 2: gutter shutter. I think it is. I think it is
- 5:57Speaker 2: the best product out there. And one of the reasons
- 6:01Speaker 2: I really have proof that it is is because we
- 6:03Speaker 2: all know. For me doing the show for so many years,
- 6:05Speaker 2: is that I used to have a different dealership and
- 6:08Speaker 2: I was forced to give that back. It is what
- 6:11Speaker 2: it is. But I can talk to every one of
- 6:13Speaker 2: my installers and every one of my managers. Our service
- 6:16Speaker 2: calls are down by eighty percent with gutter shut My
- 6:21Speaker 2: installers love installing it more. And there's a couple major
- 6:25Speaker 2: reasons why. First of all, the services because it's bigger
- 6:30Speaker 2: and it can handle more water. How much rain did
- 6:35Speaker 2: you get this weekend.
- 6:36Speaker 1: I think our neighbor actually almost five inches of rain
- 6:39Speaker 1: over the weekend, which is just staggering to think about.
- 6:42Speaker 2: It, and I had four and a half. I know
- 6:46Speaker 2: other products aren't going to handle that type of rain.
- 6:48Speaker 2: They just don't. And when we come to houses that
- 6:52Speaker 2: might have forty fifty sixty seventy foot runs and we
- 6:55Speaker 2: know that we can go with one down spot on
- 6:57Speaker 2: one end and we know it's going to handle it.
- 6:59Speaker 2: I mean, that's a huge piece of mind. Other products
- 7:02Speaker 2: just aren't big enough. Another major reason why it is
- 7:05Speaker 2: the best product out there is that it does not
- 7:07Speaker 2: have to nothing has to go underneath the shingles. We
- 7:10Speaker 2: don't have to create any flashing. The nothing goes underneath
- 7:13Speaker 2: the shingles, so we're not compromising the roof at all.
- 7:15Speaker 2: We're not messing with the shingles at all. And being
- 7:18Speaker 2: a master elite roofer, we knew that was a big thing.
- 7:21Speaker 2: And with the other product that we used to sell,
- 7:23Speaker 2: we had to put a flashing up under the roof
- 7:25Speaker 2: in order for the water to not go behind the gutter,
- 7:27Speaker 2: and that's not always the best thing for a home.
- 7:30Speaker 2: So it is the biggest, strongest maintenance free gutter on
- 7:34Speaker 2: the market, And honestly, I would say the best thing
- 7:36Speaker 2: about it is the fact that Larson Home Services puts
- 7:39Speaker 2: it up and I have my installers have millions of
- 7:45Speaker 2: feet of experience, and I'm not twisting that they legitimately
- 7:50Speaker 2: have millions of feet of experience. They have installed millions
- 7:54Speaker 2: of feet of gutters. So when it comes to a
- 7:57Speaker 2: rotten facierboard or an angle faci aboard or and you know,
- 8:01Speaker 2: one hundred and twenty year old home with cove with
- 8:04Speaker 2: cove facial on it, there's a lot of contractors that
- 8:06Speaker 2: will walk away from that, or they'll try to hang
- 8:09Speaker 2: it from the roof. We don't. We can alter your facia,
- 8:11Speaker 2: we can wrap it, we can make a maintenance free.
- 8:14Speaker 2: I just know that we have the best product with
- 8:17Speaker 2: the best installers, and we guarantee it. You know, anything's
- 8:20Speaker 2: ever wrong with it, you call us clogging, leaking, overflowing,
- 8:23Speaker 2: we take care of it no matter what. So that's
- 8:27Speaker 2: peace of mind. And my our sales reps will tell
- 8:29Speaker 2: that to me every day. They're like, you know, I
- 8:31Speaker 2: love being able to sell a product that I know,
- 8:33Speaker 2: no matter what happens, we're going to take care of it.
- 8:36Speaker 1: Yeah, you can feel good, feel good about that you
- 8:38Speaker 1: and the team feel obviously feel really good that you're
- 8:40Speaker 1: helping people, and also knowing that that it's not something
- 8:43Speaker 1: that's good that once you guys leave, it's it's no
- 8:46Speaker 1: longer you know, it's it's not your problem. One of
- 8:48Speaker 1: the things too, And I'll point this out as as
- 8:50Speaker 1: I mentioned you guys did my roof a number of
- 8:52Speaker 1: years ago. I remember getting a follow up letter from
- 8:55Speaker 1: you asking how like literally proactively asking how's it going?
- 9:01Speaker 2: Are you?
- 9:01Speaker 1: Are you satisfied? Any concerns? Here's our number. If you
- 9:04Speaker 1: have any questions, give us a call. And I know
- 9:06Speaker 1: Greg your dad. He gets out, does inspections, drives around,
- 9:10Speaker 1: checks out houses to make sure everything's good, and proactively
- 9:13Speaker 1: seek out feedback. Is you know, obviously folks if they've
- 9:16Speaker 1: got an issue, a significant issue, they'll contact somebody, but
- 9:20Speaker 1: but literally going out there to say, well, how are
- 9:22Speaker 1: you satisfied? How are they holding up? And then having
- 9:25Speaker 1: that expert I come out look and say how that is?
- 9:28Speaker 1: And that is something you don't you don't get anywhere else.
- 9:30Speaker 1: And that's one of the great things about working with Andrew.
- 9:33Speaker 2: What's THATPP? Well, I was going to say that. That's
- 9:36Speaker 2: so for me, that's one of the biggest things. My
- 9:39Speaker 2: dad was just telling me the other day. He called.
- 9:40Speaker 2: He called someone we had just we'd just done got
- 9:43Speaker 2: done installing their entire house. The five star Google review
- 9:46Speaker 2: called the office told how great the installers were, and
- 9:48Speaker 2: my dad followed up with him and said, Hey, I'd
- 9:50Speaker 2: like to schedule your inspection. I'm going to come out
- 9:51Speaker 2: and check it out. And the guy was like why,
- 9:55Speaker 2: he said, because I want to inspect it. He goes,
- 9:57Speaker 2: there's nothing to inspect. They did a phenomenal job. It
- 9:59Speaker 2: looks beautiful at rain. Everything's great, he goes, But what
- 10:02Speaker 2: they have to understand is that we hold our installers
- 10:05Speaker 2: to a very high standard. I mean so much as
- 10:08Speaker 2: screw placement on the downspouts, are they spaced right? Are
- 10:11Speaker 2: there enough? He goes and looks for things that a
- 10:15Speaker 2: homeowner would never notice, because a homeowner looks at it
- 10:19Speaker 2: from a ten thousand foot view. He looks at it
- 10:21Speaker 2: from a one foot view. And that's what he has
- 10:23Speaker 2: to explain to people is that we have we have
- 10:26Speaker 2: a very high standard. This is how we're trained, this
- 10:29Speaker 2: is how they're taught to do it, and if something's off,
- 10:32Speaker 2: we want to catch it before you do or before
- 10:34Speaker 2: it's ever a problem. And I think he said some
- 10:38Speaker 2: like four letter words because he was like dumbfounded. I
- 10:41Speaker 2: can't say him on the radio thing, but he was.
- 10:46Speaker 2: He was like, are you kidding me? You guys were amazing,
- 10:49Speaker 2: The installers were amazing, the sales reps were amazing. The
- 10:52Speaker 2: office followed up, and now you want to come look
- 10:54Speaker 2: at it? He said, sure, come on out whenever you want.
- 10:57Speaker 2: But that's the type of reaction I want to get, like,
- 11:00Speaker 2: we don't have to do that, but we want to
- 11:02Speaker 2: do that because we want to make sure that we're
- 11:05Speaker 2: installing it to the best standards. And the only standards
- 11:09Speaker 2: are guys know. And if it's wrong, we go back
- 11:11Speaker 2: and take care of it.
- 11:12Speaker 1: So and you put your name right the way I
- 11:14Speaker 1: know how to do it. Put your name right on
- 11:15Speaker 1: the trucks. And I see him around once in a
- 11:17Speaker 1: while or so often. I'll send you a picture of
- 11:19Speaker 1: and I see a truck. I saw it. Guys just
- 11:21Speaker 1: had down the road.
- 11:22Speaker 2: Yeah, I know, I saw there was one on the
- 11:24Speaker 2: high I'm just glad you weren't telling me. They were
- 11:29Speaker 2: driving like a Jersey. Oh.
- 11:30Speaker 1: No, they were. They were doing fantastic. They were, they were,
- 11:33Speaker 1: they were visiting with with the resident. And then they
- 11:36Speaker 1: they they were they had just left and I just
- 11:38Speaker 1: turned and I get calls from, Hey, your buddy's in town,
- 11:41Speaker 1: and so I drive and they like they like pulled over,
- 11:43Speaker 1: like I think they thought I was stalking them, and
- 11:44Speaker 1: I was hoping that they would stay stopped. Is by
- 11:47Speaker 1: by the time I got up to them, they had
- 11:48Speaker 1: they had moved on, and I'm like, I wanted to
- 11:50Speaker 1: say hi. But anyway, that's a cool thing is obviously
- 11:52Speaker 1: you put your name, you put your backing, and people
- 11:55Speaker 1: know you you've been working here in town doing great
- 11:57Speaker 1: work for a very very long time. That's a great
- 11:59Speaker 1: thing to talk about longevity. When it comes to your home.
- 12:02Speaker 1: You want to make sure that you're working with someone
- 12:04Speaker 1: that stand behind stands behind the work that they do,
- 12:07Speaker 1: that has phenomenal warranties. That's what you get with Larsenalme Services.
- 12:09Speaker 1: Today is the day. Give them a call six oh

- 12:20Speaker 1: Good advice there as well. Even better, call Larsenalme Services.

- 12:31Speaker 1: got is give them call six o eight five three
