Transcript
- 0:16Speaker 1: Welcome into jag Zam today and Nannie Stevens, Brian Text,
- 0:18Speaker 1: and John Osier with you as we get ready for
- 0:20Speaker 1: another divisional matchup with the Texans this league. But it
- 0:23Speaker 1: was prey deadline day yesterday, So that's our first big
- 0:26Speaker 1: thing for you. Big Things brought to you by GEAJA
- 0:28Speaker 1: Government Employees Health Association Benefits for federal employees and retirees.
- 0:33Speaker 1: So Big Thing number one is a deadline deal. We
- 0:35Speaker 1: knew James Gladstone likes to be involved in these sorts
- 0:38Speaker 1: of things, and he was calling around, but he got
- 0:40Speaker 1: himself another wide receiver, Jacobe Myers going to be joining
- 0:43Speaker 1: this team. Just played the team that he was on
- 0:45Speaker 1: previously in the Raiders this week. Brian, what is this
- 0:47Speaker 1: going to add to the wide receiver room?
- 0:49Speaker 2: Well, listen, I called a couple of guys to scout
- 0:51Speaker 2: the league that I know through the years, and I
- 0:53Speaker 2: got three things back on him. One is that he
- 0:56Speaker 2: is a pro. Right, he fits the DNA of what
- 1:00Speaker 2: Tony Biselli, James Gladstow, and Liam Cohen are looking for.
- 1:03Speaker 2: The guy is a pro. He's a top competitor, he
- 1:05Speaker 2: wants to win. He enjoys the process of preparing to win,
- 1:09Speaker 2: so again fits all of that. And then John from
- 1:13Speaker 2: a football perspective, he's a guy who runs precise routes
- 1:16Speaker 2: and has dependable hands. That's always been the word on him.
- 1:19Speaker 2: Last year eighty seven catches over a thousand yards. He's
- 1:22Speaker 2: a guy that should be where he's supposed to be
- 1:24Speaker 2: and someone that the quarterback can depend on.
- 1:27Speaker 3: Yeah, when he gets the system, I think he'll have
- 1:30Speaker 3: a chance to be the most reliable route runner that
- 1:33Speaker 3: Trevor has. Remember how much he liked playing with Christian
- 1:36Speaker 3: Kirk because Christian was always.
- 1:38Speaker 4: At precise places, you know. Choby Myers is very good
- 1:42Speaker 4: at that.
- 1:43Speaker 3: I think when they get Brenton Strange back, you'll have
- 1:46Speaker 3: two guys who Trevor will know exactly.
- 1:48Speaker 4: Where it is.
- 1:48Speaker 3: Parker Washington's been doing a good job of that as well,
- 1:51Speaker 3: So I definitely think that this adds that, and it's
- 1:56Speaker 3: not necessarily at all.
- 1:58Speaker 4: I don't think a one year rental run.
- 2:00Speaker 2: By the way, those thousand yards and eighty seven catches.
- 2:03Speaker 2: John Kay last year and into this year five different
- 2:06Speaker 2: quarterbacks that he played with during his time in Las Vegas,
- 2:10Speaker 2: so it goes to show up his consistently he does
- 2:13Speaker 2: the little things well day in and day out, and
- 2:16Speaker 2: that's a good reason to take a shot and send
- 2:19Speaker 2: a forth and a six round pick for him.
- 2:21Speaker 1: Absolutely needed this time, especially with what the wide receiver
- 2:24Speaker 1: room is dealing with in terms of injuries, what the
- 2:26Speaker 1: whole team is dealing with and team of injuries. That's
- 2:28Speaker 1: our second big thing, which is next span up. The
- 2:30Speaker 1: team is banged up right now. Hopefully after the bye week,
- 2:32Speaker 1: you're hoping you can be a little bit healthy. But
- 2:34Speaker 1: some more injuries happening in this game, most recently against
- 2:37Speaker 1: the Raiders. We'll find out some more about that a
- 2:39Speaker 1: little bit later on.
- 2:40Speaker 4: But John, what.
- 2:41Speaker 1: Are some timeline updates in terms of Breton Strange and
- 2:44Speaker 1: Devin Lloyd that we know so far?
- 2:46Speaker 4: Well, it's a laundry list.
- 2:47Speaker 3: I mean, you've also got Jordan Lewis banged U, Brian
- 2:50Speaker 3: Thomas doing your Bang debt. You have me by on
- 2:52Speaker 3: Bang debt, So I mean we could go through the
- 2:54Speaker 3: list find out more today.
- 2:56Speaker 4: I expect.
- 2:58Speaker 3: My gut is that Brenton's Strange, he can come offire.
- 3:02Speaker 3: It's getting a with my gut, but I think he
- 3:05Speaker 3: will be able to play against the Chargers. I think,
- 3:07Speaker 3: which is next week, you hope, because he you know,
- 3:11Speaker 3: you forget how important he is to this Devin Lloyd.
- 3:14Speaker 3: It sounded from listening to Liam on Monday like there
- 3:17Speaker 3: was a chance that he could play this Sunday.
- 3:20Speaker 4: But it also sounded.
- 3:21Speaker 3: Like, you know, Liam talked a lot about his calf
- 3:24Speaker 3: and how that can be a very risk injury to
- 3:27Speaker 3: bring him back too quick. So it sounds like you'd
- 3:30Speaker 3: be real careful with dev And I'm not a doctor,
- 3:33Speaker 3: so I don't know how you know how close he is,
- 3:36Speaker 3: but there are on the side of caution with that one.
- 3:38Speaker 3: And I don't know that it's guaranteed this week, but
- 3:41Speaker 3: that's a guess.
- 3:42Speaker 2: You know, it's worth noting the trade deadline. Football is
- 3:45Speaker 2: a game of attrition. You lose guys, you have to
- 3:48Speaker 2: draft well, you have to coach even better to have
- 3:50Speaker 2: guys ready to play. And the draft deadline pushing that
- 3:54Speaker 2: back and making it more of a media event. Well,
- 3:57Speaker 2: the league is great at doing that, and it makes
- 3:59Speaker 2: it seem like you can all of your problems by
- 4:01Speaker 2: going and throwing some draft picks around. You can't do it.
- 4:03Speaker 2: Jaguars obviously couldn't add a corner or a safety, yesterday
- 4:07Speaker 2: they couldn't find a tight end. It just wasn't possible.
- 4:10Speaker 2: So you've got to rely now on some guys. You
- 4:12Speaker 2: need Monterrek Brown to play well, and of course he
- 4:16Speaker 2: had the interception last week. You need to figure out
- 4:18Speaker 2: can you get Quentin Morris on the field, can you
- 4:20Speaker 2: get more from the tight end position while you wait
- 4:23Speaker 2: for Brenton Strange to be ready to play, and can
- 4:25Speaker 2: you ask Ben trel Miller to play even more than
- 4:27Speaker 2: he has at a higher level. This thing with these
- 4:30Speaker 2: injured players, it's league wide. It always is in November.
- 4:34Speaker 2: Welcome to November in the NFL. Jaguars got to find
- 4:36Speaker 2: a way to survive with some backup guys and coach
- 4:40Speaker 2: their butts off to get them ready to play.
- 4:43Speaker 1: Our final big thing today going to be look ahead.
- 4:44Speaker 1: You mentioned the injuries we're dealing with. The Texans also
- 4:47Speaker 1: dealing with some injury CJ. Stroud and concussion protocol at
- 4:49Speaker 1: this point, and we don't necessarily know if he'll be
- 4:52Speaker 1: ready to go for game time. But this is a
- 4:53Speaker 1: huge opportunity for them to try and sweep the Texans
- 4:56Speaker 1: this week when they take them on for the first
- 4:58Speaker 1: time in quite some time.
- 4:59Speaker 2: Brian what the Texans since twenty seventeen and that was gosh,
- 5:03Speaker 2: that was so long ago. The Jaguars played Dan Savage,
- 5:07Speaker 2: he was their starting quarterback on opening Day at NRG
- 5:10Speaker 2: Stadium back in twenty ten, and that was a ten
- 5:13Speaker 2: sack day. It was an enormous day, ten sack day.
- 5:17Speaker 2: They get Davis Mills this week if CJ. Stroud can't go,
- 5:20Speaker 2: And though Davis Mills has five victories, one of them
- 5:23Speaker 2: is against the Jaguars back in twenty twenty one when
- 5:25Speaker 2: he was a rookie from Stanford here in Jacksonville. But
- 5:28Speaker 2: he's five, nineteen and one. That would be a major
- 5:31Speaker 2: break for a football team that is as banged up
- 5:33Speaker 2: as this one is. Last week they moved the ball
- 5:35Speaker 2: John but it only came away with a couple of
- 5:37Speaker 2: field goals. Five field goals. So the Jaguars, if c. J.
- 5:41Speaker 2: Stroud doesn't play, have an opportunity. It just sometimes it
- 5:45Speaker 2: comes out this way that you have a pivotal game
- 5:48Speaker 2: against a division foe, you're banged up, but they're missing
- 5:51Speaker 2: a more critical player. It's a distinct opportunity, despite how
- 5:54Speaker 2: banged up this team is, to be able to go
- 5:57Speaker 2: on the road in the division essentially put the Texans,
- 6:00Speaker 2: you know, a really difficult spot.
- 6:01Speaker 3: Yeah, when you're as beat up as the Jaguars are,
- 6:03Speaker 3: and I don't know if they're gonna get you know,
- 6:05Speaker 3: less feed up as you go along.
- 6:08Speaker 4: They can get healthy, great.
- 6:09Speaker 3: But if they're going to be sort of an attrition
- 6:12Speaker 3: team as they move forward, then there's gonna be a
- 6:15Speaker 3: couple down the road that the matchup just doesn't work
- 6:18Speaker 3: because you're down personnel. That being said, it's why a
- 6:22Speaker 3: game such as Sunday is so important because if you're
- 6:25Speaker 3: sort of limping to the finish, which again I don't
- 6:27Speaker 3: know if they will be, but they're so beat up
- 6:28Speaker 3: right now, you've got to get the gettables and with CJ.
- 6:32Speaker 3: Stroud out, this becomes one where you know, coin flip whatever.
- 6:36Speaker 3: Certainly not an advantage for either team, it doesn't look
- 6:39Speaker 3: like objectively. So these are the kinds you gotta get
- 6:41Speaker 3: if you're gonna sort of limp your way or grind
- 6:44Speaker 3: your way as a better term.
- 6:45Speaker 4: Into the playoffs.
- 6:46Speaker 1: All right, stay with us here on Jagsam. Coming up
- 6:48Speaker 1: after the break, we're gonna do a little this or
- 6:49Speaker 1: that as we look ahead to this week against the Texans.
- 6:55Speaker 1: Twelve years, dream Finders' Homes have been proud to call
- 6:57Speaker 1: themselves the official home builder of the jacksonvill Jaguars as
- 6:59Speaker 1: a dream vider homes dot com for all of the
- 7:01Speaker 1: available inventory and go Jags.
- 7:04Speaker 4: This this welcome back into jag Van.
- 7:11Speaker 1: We're gonna play a little this or that as we
- 7:13Speaker 1: look ahead to this game against the Texans. As mentioned
- 7:16Speaker 1: a lot of injuries that this team has been dealing with,
- 7:19Speaker 1: including some against the Raiders. So for me, the big
- 7:21Speaker 1: ones Ezra Cleveland and Jordan Lewis coming out of that
- 7:25Speaker 1: game banged up. Brian, which one's the bigger loss next
- 7:28Speaker 1: week if they can't get Jordan Lewis.
- 7:30Speaker 2: Yeah, Jordan Lewis made plays against Nico Collins the first
- 7:34Speaker 2: time they played. I mean, obviously they had Tyson Campbell
- 7:37Speaker 2: and he made a couple of big ones. But when
- 7:38Speaker 2: you lose, listen, I think everyone would say John that
- 7:42Speaker 2: the addition of Jordan Lewis and Eric Murray early on
- 7:46Speaker 2: in the season changed the trajectory of a secondary that
- 7:50Speaker 2: limped to the finish last year after giving up big
- 7:53Speaker 2: play after big play. Well, Murray's on injured reserve and
- 7:56Speaker 2: now if Jordan Lewis isn't able to go, then all
- 7:59Speaker 2: of a sudden, you've lost that that energy that the
- 8:02Speaker 2: veterans brought, that composure, the way that they played the game.
- 8:06Speaker 2: So I'm gonna say that the loss of Jordan Lewis
- 8:09Speaker 2: is probably more significant than Ezra Cleveland, cause you bring
- 8:11Speaker 2: in too much Ydoga. You've got Colby and Lanta, you
- 8:15Speaker 2: got Wyatt mile Let, You've got some options there. But
- 8:17Speaker 2: how do you replace what Jordan Lewis brings to the table.
- 8:20Speaker 2: I don't know that you can.
- 8:21Speaker 3: Yeah, the way they're built, meaning eight offensive linemen and
- 8:27Speaker 3: maybe not any stars on the offensive line, but they
- 8:29Speaker 3: have eight or nine offensive linemen that they like.
- 8:32Speaker 4: I agree.
- 8:33Speaker 3: And you know, you were supposed to be able to
- 8:36Speaker 3: replace quite capably your first beat up in Tier your guy,
- 8:42Speaker 3: and I think they can't. So adding to the Jordan
- 8:45Speaker 3: Lewis situation. On the other side, Travis Hunter's not gonna
- 8:48Speaker 3: be the game. So you're down Travis Hunter, You're you're
- 8:51Speaker 3: down Jordan Lewis if he can't play, and Eric Murray
- 8:55Speaker 3: that's what three your top five back there that plays.
- 8:57Speaker 2: So when these two teams met back in September.
- 9:00Speaker 4: Yeah, So that's uh yeah, Jordan Lewis be a big loss,
- 9:03Speaker 4: Wed a tough one.
- 9:04Speaker 1: We'll get updates totally a little bit later on today
- 9:06Speaker 1: and what those injuries are gonna look like. This one's
- 9:09Speaker 1: my thought of this or that or just your opinions.
- 9:12Speaker 1: James Gladstone's made a lot of moves, made some free
- 9:14Speaker 1: agent signings. Obviously this is first free agent class with
- 9:17Speaker 1: this team now with the franchise. What's your favorite move
- 9:20Speaker 1: that he's made or favorite acquisition that he's made thus far?
- 9:26Speaker 3: Probably I'm trying to think free agency like during free agency. Uh,
- 9:33Speaker 3: probably Lewis Jordan l I mean I if you count
- 9:36Speaker 3: that I U understiot free agency. They did a nice
- 9:39Speaker 3: job if I could take that whole first day meaning uh,
- 9:43Speaker 3: Eric Murray, Jordan Lewis, I thought, you know, uh, Downy
- 9:46Speaker 3: Brown ha hasn't really been with the other two guys
- 9:49Speaker 3: have been Hainesy. But yeah, in that first wave, Uh,
- 9:53Speaker 3: I think they did a nice job maybe not any
- 9:56Speaker 3: any Pro bowlers, but they did a nice job of Okay,
- 9:59Speaker 3: here how we can sort of elevate and get back
- 10:02Speaker 3: to where we can function some positions.
- 10:04Speaker 4: So I thought that first day that's kind of takeing chalk.
- 10:07Speaker 3: I mean, that's when they made the most moves, But
- 10:09Speaker 3: I thought that sort of symbolized to me how they're
- 10:12Speaker 3: gonna do this. We're gonna build smart now, eventually build
- 10:15Speaker 3: through the draft, but get these problems fixed right now.
- 10:17Speaker 2: I'm going to divide into two. I'll go free agency
- 10:19Speaker 2: Rob Hainsey because of what he's meant to the running game.
- 10:21Speaker 2: I think that's obvious. You saw last week them run
- 10:24Speaker 2: what seven or eight straight plays for the game winning touchdown.
- 10:28Speaker 2: But I think, especially this week, I think the most
- 10:30Speaker 2: critical move that James Gladistowe made was the trade for Newsome.
- 10:36Speaker 2: I mean, you've got a veteran guy who fits more
- 10:38Speaker 2: your style of play, and especially if you're gonna start
- 10:40Speaker 2: Monterrek Brown on the other side and not have Travis
- 10:43Speaker 2: Hunter and not have Jordan Lewis. Newsom's a guy who
- 10:46Speaker 2: showed you last week that he's gotten more acclimated to
- 10:49Speaker 2: the scheme and the system in Jacksonville, and you're good
- 10:51Speaker 2: account on him this week against the Houston Texans. So
- 10:54Speaker 2: I think that's a really critical one.
- 10:55Speaker 1: There's a lot of stuff to think about, even you
- 10:57Speaker 1: know Travis Hunter's trade.
- 11:00Speaker 4: Jacoby Myers is being added.
- 11:01Speaker 1: When I was looking at the list myself, when I
- 11:03Speaker 1: thought of that question that I thought is a subtle
- 11:06Speaker 1: one that I think has played out well is trading
- 11:08Speaker 1: Tanks Bigsby to Philadelphia because travesyten has been what I
- 11:12Speaker 1: would call the MVP of the offense so far and
- 11:15Speaker 1: just showing that if you buy into the system, you'll
- 11:18Speaker 1: be rewarded. And he's been given the carries. And you know,
- 11:21Speaker 1: in the off season all we were hearing was trade
- 11:22Speaker 1: him away and get rid of him. And what he's
- 11:24Speaker 1: been able to do after buying into the system, well.
- 11:26Speaker 2: I mean, listen, Howie Roseman gets a lot of credit
- 11:29Speaker 2: and he should. He's built a Super Bowl champion in Philadelphia,
- 11:31Speaker 2: and he's considered one of the brightest minds in an
- 11:35Speaker 2: NFL front office, and they've been able to make a
- 11:37Speaker 2: lot of moves because he stockpiled so many picks. How
- 11:39Speaker 2: about the move to trade with Detroit last year that
- 11:42Speaker 2: brought you both of their third round picks in twenty
- 11:45Speaker 2: twenty six. Now, the Jaguars didn't end up moving them,
- 11:48Speaker 2: and I don't think you want to because third round
- 11:50Speaker 2: picks generally become starters, guys that you rely on. But
- 11:53Speaker 2: they had the ammunition yesterday to be able to make
- 11:56Speaker 2: any move that they felt would improve their football team.
- 11:59Speaker 2: The one that did the one that they could. But
- 12:02Speaker 2: when you look at the stockpilot picks John all that
- 12:06Speaker 2: they had, you felt good about what Gladstone would be
- 12:09Speaker 2: able to do as they went searching for answers this week.
- 12:11Speaker 4: Yeah. Also, I thought they.
- 12:15Speaker 3: I made a lot of calls a lot of guys,
- 12:16Speaker 3: and I thought they played smart just doing the one.
- 12:21Speaker 3: I don't think this stage of your bill you want
- 12:23Speaker 3: to overpay for guys if you think they're just short
- 12:27Speaker 3: term rentals. So still a long term vision.
- 12:30Speaker 1: All right, after the break, we're gonna go over some
- 12:31Speaker 1: of the big deadline deals that went down yesterday across.
- 12:33Speaker 4: The league, says jag zam.
- 12:39Speaker 1: Rot to you buy Fields Auto Group se Fields First Tracking,
- 12:41Speaker 1: the premier luxury auto group, go to Fieldsauto dot com.
- 12:46Speaker 1: The deadline day yesterday, it's a lot of trades going down,
- 12:49Speaker 1: specifically the Jets getting rid of a lot of people,
- 12:52Speaker 1: and one of the big blockbusters of the day is
- 12:54Speaker 1: affecting the AOC South because Sauce Gardner is headed to
- 12:58Speaker 1: Indianapolis for two first round picks Brian, that's a pretty
- 13:02Speaker 1: hefty price to pay.
- 13:03Speaker 2: Well, especially when you're coming off of a game in
- 13:06Speaker 2: which Daniel Jones, the presumed quarterback of the future, has
- 13:10Speaker 2: five turnovers that he's responsible for. So all of a sudden,
- 13:13Speaker 2: now you might be thinking, well, we might not want to,
- 13:14Speaker 2: you know, chain ourselves to this and to pay him
- 13:17Speaker 2: the kind of contract he's going to command. We might
- 13:19Speaker 2: need some of these picks and a quarterback in the
- 13:21Speaker 2: next couple of years. But listen, it's instant gratification. These days.
- 13:25Speaker 2: They're going all in right now this year, giving up
- 13:28Speaker 2: two to ones for Sauce Gardner that they've been playing
- 13:30Speaker 2: without Travarious Ward, the free agent corner, they've been struggling
- 13:34Speaker 2: with pass defense. I think it's a risky move now.
- 13:39Speaker 2: I mean, if they win the Super Bowl, then they
- 13:40Speaker 2: make me look stupid for saying that. But the reality is, yeah,
- 13:43Speaker 2: if you don't win the super Bowl, that was a mistake.
- 13:45Speaker 3: Yeah, it's funny, and this is not necessarily The Cults
- 13:49Speaker 3: are the example of it, but they're not the only
- 13:52Speaker 3: team doing it. The trade deadline has changed so much,
- 13:55Speaker 3: like it used to be a few trades to get
- 13:58Speaker 3: maybe a third round pick for running backs like that,
- 14:00Speaker 3: and now it's it's a legitimate event where teams are
- 14:04Speaker 3: buying into we're gonna sell and we're gonna rebuild with
- 14:08Speaker 3: draft picks, and we're gonna go after it right now.
- 14:12Speaker 3: The question I have I have for the Colts move,
- 14:15Speaker 3: and if it be any franchise, I would ask this, Okay,
- 14:20Speaker 3: you've given up your first two picks, your equity builders
- 14:24Speaker 3: for twenty six and twenty seven.
- 14:26Speaker 4: That didn't that leads you without a first round pick
- 14:29Speaker 4: till twenty eight. I get it. I mean, it's just
- 14:33Speaker 4: not what.
- 14:34Speaker 3: I was used to growing up covering this league, right,
- 14:38Speaker 3: So it's just a different way of going about it,
- 14:41Speaker 3: and you're right for them, this trade better work and
- 14:45Speaker 3: they better go deep in the postseason because then you're
- 14:48Speaker 3: hanging there with okay, how are we gonna build moving forward?
- 14:51Speaker 4: What's going?
- 14:52Speaker 2: You know?
- 14:52Speaker 4: So it's it's it's a different league than it was
- 14:55Speaker 4: ten years ago with this kind of move.
- 14:56Speaker 1: We talked a little bit about the position you're trading for,
- 14:58Speaker 1: right whether it's quarterback or or defensive tackle. Because the
- 15:01Speaker 1: Jets also sent Quentin Williams to the Cowboys, got a
- 15:04Speaker 1: bunch of picks backs so the Jets are definitely stockpiling picks.
- 15:06Speaker 1: But the Cowboys, I assume that Quentin Williams they will
- 15:10Speaker 1: think will play well for quite some time.
- 15:12Speaker 3: John, Yeah, that's the that's the theory is uh. You know,
- 15:15Speaker 3: a defensive uh lineman, even an offensive lineman, has a
- 15:20Speaker 3: lot more shelf life of quality play into your early
- 15:23Speaker 3: thirties than maybe a running back, uh, even a cornerback.
- 15:27Speaker 4: So that makes sense. And again it's just old school thought.
- 15:34Speaker 3: Going after defensive line or offensive line with equity picks
- 15:38Speaker 3: at this stage of a player's career makes more sense
- 15:41Speaker 3: to me than going after a cornerback like you said,
- 15:43Speaker 3: are in the break guy the way this league calls DPI.
- 15:47Speaker 4: Now, uh, I A.
- 15:50Speaker 3: I've always said I would have trouble taking a cornerback
- 15:53Speaker 3: in the top five anymore because teams can negate that
- 15:57Speaker 3: position offensively so much.
- 16:00Speaker 4: But that's me.
- 16:03Speaker 2: It's interesting with the Cowboys, and I've watched the last
- 16:06Speaker 2: two games, the Broncos game was obviously on our bye weekend,
- 16:09Speaker 2: and then Monday Night Football them against the Cardinals, and
- 16:12Speaker 2: their defense really has struggled. But you've traded Micah Parsons,
- 16:16Speaker 2: who was a difference maker now for Kenny Clark and
- 16:19Speaker 2: Quinn Williams, the two defensive tackles who are right there
- 16:22Speaker 2: in the middle of the defense. So we're going to
- 16:23Speaker 2: see right now whether Jerry Jones' strategy pays off this
- 16:27Speaker 2: year or not. Now, they they had the pick to
- 16:30Speaker 2: swing for Quinn Williams, and they still got another pick
- 16:33Speaker 2: next year because I think they traded the twenty twenty
- 16:35Speaker 2: seven first round pick, so they've got another pick next
- 16:37Speaker 2: year in the first round. I mean, you've taken You've
- 16:40Speaker 2: taken Micah Parsons out and put in two big defensive tackles.
- 16:46Speaker 2: Better work.
- 16:46Speaker 3: Yeah, it's a curious there is a school of thought
- 16:51Speaker 3: with that age of free agent. I mean I think
- 16:53Speaker 3: Quinn Williams is twenty seventh. Yeah, twenty five to twenty seven.
- 16:56Speaker 3: You know, you give a first round pick, so like
- 16:59Speaker 3: Leonard william where you know what you're getting and there's
- 17:04Speaker 3: no risk. There's very little risk when you trade for
- 17:07Speaker 3: a defensive tackle because they fit most schemes. You know,
- 17:13Speaker 3: if you're built and you have the physical ability to
- 17:15Speaker 3: play that, you can go play it anywhere. So that's
- 17:18Speaker 3: a little bit of the theory too. I'm sure with
- 17:19Speaker 3: the Cowboys as look, we know this guy's good.
- 17:23Speaker 4: But they also sort of knew.
- 17:24Speaker 3: Mike it was good. Yeah, So that's where if you're
- 17:27Speaker 3: a Cowboys fan, you're like, what's going on.
- 17:29Speaker 2: In twenty seventeen. You remember the Jaguars knew they had
- 17:31Speaker 2: a hole in the middle of the line, and they
- 17:32Speaker 2: traded two picks, a fourth and a sixth to the
- 17:35Speaker 2: Bills for Marcell Darius. He made a big difference for that, right,
- 17:39Speaker 2: I mean he really that coalition.
- 17:40Speaker 3: Can make a mammoth difference. If it eats space and disrupts.
- 17:46Speaker 4: It can be a big deal.
- 17:47Speaker 1: So quickly again about Jacoby Myers being acquired. So it's
- 17:50Speaker 1: a fourth and a sixth that's going to last, I
- 17:52Speaker 1: guess in twenty six So we still.
- 17:54Speaker 4: Have eleven thirty five. I think thirty five. They have
- 17:58Speaker 4: two record.
- 17:59Speaker 2: Three, they have a four, they have two fives, they
- 18:02Speaker 2: have a six and three seven, So I think they.
- 18:04Speaker 1: Still have eleven. I think at thirteen hour at eleven
- 18:07Speaker 1: still lot.
- 18:08Speaker 4: Figure out if there's a way to trade all.
- 18:10Speaker 1: We're gonna have to talk to James and get some
- 18:11Speaker 1: of them sent away. But also we should we should
- 18:14Speaker 1: mention the wide receiver room is so banged up Chacobe
- 18:16Speaker 1: might play a significant factor right out of the gate.
- 18:19Speaker 4: I would think.
- 18:20Speaker 3: I think he passed his physical, was doing his physical today,
- 18:23Speaker 3: and I don't say pass.
- 18:24Speaker 4: I don't know that, but I think he's speaking in
- 18:27Speaker 4: the media today.
- 18:28Speaker 3: And my guess is they'll have a route package or
- 18:32Speaker 3: or a package where he can play, because with the
- 18:35Speaker 3: way the receivers.
- 18:35Speaker 4: Are banged up, he's gonna need to.
- 18:36Speaker 2: He's gonna get a lot of extra attention. This week,
- 18:38Speaker 2: I'm talking to Edgar Bennett. By the way, I scheduled
- 18:41Speaker 2: this before I knew that they were gonna make a trade,
- 18:45Speaker 2: so I'm excited to catch up with him and find no, no,
- 18:47Speaker 2: it's just listen. Last week I was supposed to talk
- 18:49Speaker 2: to Edgar, and Travis Hunter got hurt in the practice field,
- 18:52Speaker 2: so we begged off of that because there was no
- 18:54Speaker 2: one knew, so the conversation would have been moved. This week,
- 18:58Speaker 2: I've got him, and they've got an addition, so it
- 18:59Speaker 2: would be fun.
- 19:00Speaker 1: And of course he worked with Jakobe Myers and last week.
- 19:03Speaker 2: You're very cool.
- 19:04Speaker 4: Stay with us. We'll tell you what's coming up the
- 19:05Speaker 4: rest of the week.

- 19:32Speaker 5: Jock gun for Trevor dropping to throw four man rush
- 19:35Speaker 5: looking fires that one deep downfield to the far sideline.
- 19:38Speaker 5: It is caught tackling around the forty nine yard line.
- 19:41Speaker 5: But the clock is gonna turn here. The Jags are
- 19:43Speaker 5: gonna have to get up and try and spike it
- 19:45Speaker 5: eight seconds to play. He was tackling in the field
- 19:47Speaker 5: to play five seconds and Trevor will spike it with
- 19:50Speaker 5: four seconds left in the house.
- 19:52Speaker 6: Good job right there by the offense getting down the
- 19:55Speaker 6: field lined up to spike it. Now you send your
- 19:57Speaker 6: kicker out for a last second try.
- 19:59Speaker 5: It'll be a sixty eight yarder. You know he made
- 20:03Speaker 5: the seventy yarder in the preseason.
- 20:05Speaker 6: We saw him make the one in seventy look in
- 20:07Speaker 6: the last two games, he's missed two field goals and
- 20:10Speaker 6: an extra point. But you talk about getting some confidence back,
- 20:13Speaker 6: you drove this one right here and you got it back.
- 20:15Speaker 5: So here we go, a sixty eight yarder from the
- 20:18Speaker 5: left hash out of the hole, huff logan, cut logan,
- 20:22Speaker 5: puts it down, Camp Middle kicks it up. The sixty
- 20:25Speaker 5: eight yard field goal is good? No, lois what the.
- 20:36Speaker 2: Hey drilled in from sixty hey yards on the land
- 20:41Speaker 2: player I have?
- 20:42Speaker 4: How good? Is that?
- 20:44Speaker 6: Outstanding? And here's the thing, you just got a whole
- 20:48Speaker 6: of entergy as a football team on that sixty eight
- 20:51Speaker 6: yard field.
- 20:51Speaker 4: Goal, the record breaker song of the game tonight.
- 20:58Speaker 1: You're definitely gonna want to check it out if, of
- 21:00Speaker 1: course it sparked the overtime.
- 21:01Speaker 4: Victory as well.
- 21:02Speaker 3: Yeah, it was a cool moment. And you know, football geek,
- 21:06Speaker 3: here Parker washing and running the ball line awareness with
- 21:10Speaker 3: the official rather than dropping it and going look at me.
- 21:13Speaker 4: I mean, you know, nice play on his part.
- 21:16Speaker 2: He's a really good football a really good football player.
- 21:19Speaker 2: By the way.
- 21:19Speaker 4: A credit to Camelot on a wedding kick. That was cool.
- 21:22Speaker 2: But listen, that is so far away the angle of
- 21:24Speaker 2: the camera that you had there for that first version
- 21:28Speaker 2: of the kick. It's just it's breathtaking how far it
- 21:31Speaker 2: is sixty eight yards to put it between eight yards
- 21:35Speaker 2: of pipe. I mean, he said, you don't angle it
- 21:38Speaker 2: from that point. You just can't get as hard as
- 21:40Speaker 2: you possibly can and hope that you get it there.
- 21:42Speaker 2: And he more than got it there. I know everybody
- 21:45Speaker 2: keeps thinking we're gonna get over seventy, and this thing's
- 21:47Speaker 2: gonna keep going. But at some point it's gotta stop.
- 21:49Speaker 2: It's so far away.
- 21:51Speaker 1: Seventy might be where the next the next one is
- 21:53Speaker 1: kicked from. We'll keep an eye. We'll get some update
- 21:55Speaker 1: on injuries. We'll be back tomorrow and talk more Texans.
- 21:57Speaker 1: We'll see on JAGXAM on Thursday
