Speaker 1: Almost as important as the tax gus. We've slashed a
0:03
Speaker 1: record number of job crushing regulations. That includes to you,
0:07
Speaker 1: and that includes tremendous numbers of environmental regulations which stopped
0:12
Speaker 1: your businesses. But they didn't do anything and they had
0:14
Speaker 1: no impact. If anything, they made the environment worse. But
0:18
Speaker 1: we eliminated one hundred and twenty nine old regulations for
0:21
Speaker 1: every new one that was approved. It was supposed to
0:24
Speaker 1: be one in ten and it's turning out to be
0:26
Speaker 1: one hundred and twenty nine, one in one hundred and
0:29
Speaker 1: twenty nine. So we're getting rid of one hundred and
0:32
Speaker 1: twenty nine nonsense regulations pertainly new one that we've had.
0:36
Speaker 2: You're listening to the forty seven Morning Update with Ben ferguson.
0:40
Speaker 3: Good Tuesday morning. Nice to have you with us on
0:42
Speaker 3: the forty seven Morning Update. And we've got one big
0:44
Speaker 3: story coming out of the White House. First up, Iran
0:47
Speaker 3: says they fired on US warships in the straight of
0:49
Speaker 3: hor Moos. This coming is the US sinks not one,
0:53
Speaker 3: not two, not three, not four, but five, no, no,
0:56
Speaker 3: No six small Uranian fast boats. Trump warns the regime
1:01
Speaker 3: that they can be blown off the face of the Earth. Now,
1:05
Speaker 3: before we get to that, I want to say something
1:07
Speaker 3: that's really important, and that is do you want to
1:10
Speaker 3: help the people that are still under siege right now
1:13
Speaker 3: in Israel? So many of you have stepped up to
1:16
Speaker 3: help have a huge impact, and the International Fellowship of
1:19
Speaker 3: Christians and Jews is on the front lines helping those
1:22
Speaker 3: that are desperately in need right now that are in Israel.
1:26
Speaker 3: And because of you, you're having a huge impact. All Right,
1:30
Speaker 3: I want to take a moment and I want to
1:32
Speaker 3: talk to you about the incredible impact that you can
1:34
Speaker 3: have for the people of Israel right now, Right now,
1:38
Speaker 3: our Jewish friends are feeling forgotten. There's a Jewish woman
1:42
Speaker 3: named Esther I'd like to tell you about, and her
1:44
Speaker 3: home is an Israel. Esther is living through days and
1:47
Speaker 3: nights of fear. Sirens are sounding, rockets screaming through the sky,
1:52
Speaker 3: long stretches spent in a bomb shelter.
1:55
Speaker 4: She's eighty four years old.
1:57
Speaker 3: Esther is elderly, She's fragile and all now imagine that
2:01
Speaker 3: no help, no food deliveries, no medical care, no one
2:05
Speaker 3: knocking at the door. It's a war zone. But because
2:08
Speaker 3: of friends like you, Esther is not alone. Now through
2:12
Speaker 3: the IFCJ. They are there, bringing her food, meeting her
2:17
Speaker 3: urgent needs, and reminding Jewish people like Esther, you are
2:21
Speaker 3: not forgotten in times of fear and uncertainty. Your compassion
2:26
Speaker 3: brings hope and real help. Esther asks that you hear
2:29
Speaker 3: these words quote to those who give, you are doing
2:33
Speaker 3: a very great mitzvah, a good deed you give from
2:36
Speaker 3: your heart.
2:37
Speaker 4: May God protect you. Friends.
2:40
Speaker 3: I want you to know that your gift to God's
2:42
Speaker 3: people is truly hope giving and life saving. So if
2:46
Speaker 3: you've not gotten involved with the IFCJ, please do it
2:49
Speaker 3: now and don't wait. Call eight eight eight four eight
2:53
Speaker 3: eight IFCJ right now. That's eight eight eight for eight
2:58
Speaker 3: eight IFCJ. Or go to if CJ dot org. That's
3:03
Speaker 3: IFCJ dot org. It's a forty seven morning update and
3:07
Speaker 3: it starts right now.
3:08
Speaker 2: Story number one.
3:09
Speaker 3: I want to start by telling you what's happening right
3:12
Speaker 3: now in the Strait of hor Moves. Iran has fired
3:15
Speaker 3: on US warship in the Straight of Horn Moves after
3:18
Speaker 3: Trump announced plans to guide ships through the passage. Now,
3:23
Speaker 3: many people don't understand just how massive the Straight of
3:27
Speaker 3: Horn Moves actually is. A lot of people think of
3:29
Speaker 3: it as like a simple, easy waterway, almost like the
3:32
Speaker 3: Panama Canal.
3:34
Speaker 4: That is not the case at all.
3:35
Speaker 3: There's been criticism saying, why can't Trump just take out
3:38
Speaker 3: all these Iranian fastboats. We've again decimated their navy. But
3:43
Speaker 3: these little fastboats that are almost like small boats that
3:46
Speaker 3: you would see on a lake anywhere you go this summer,
3:49
Speaker 3: with a lot of engines on the back so they
3:51
Speaker 3: have speed, is exactly what is hitting these vessels. Now,
3:55
Speaker 3: I'm going to do my best to explain to you
3:57
Speaker 3: something that most Americans have no not fully understood or
4:01
Speaker 3: grass because the media is a terrible job of truly
4:04
Speaker 3: explaining this global shipping sector and the threat to our
4:09
Speaker 3: navy and commercial vessels, and just how easy it is
4:12
Speaker 3: for these small.
4:12
Speaker 4: Boats to actually hide.
4:13
Speaker 3: All right, So when we're talking about the strade of
4:17
Speaker 3: horn moves and it's important, saying it that way is
4:21
Speaker 3: honestly a massive understatement. This is one of the most
4:25
Speaker 3: critical choke points on planet Earth. You have more than
4:28
Speaker 3: twenty percent of the world's oil supply coming through here,
4:31
Speaker 3: and that doesn't count all the other vessels from around
4:34
Speaker 3: the world that use the trade of horn moves to
4:36
Speaker 3: get things from point A to point B. Now, to
4:39
Speaker 3: put it in perspective, at its narrowest point, the strait
4:43
Speaker 3: is about twenty one miles wide at its narrowest point.
4:48
Speaker 4: That's insane.
4:50
Speaker 3: Now, that is something that if you think about, it's
4:53
Speaker 3: really hard to be looking out and watching for all
4:56
Speaker 3: these small boats all the time. Now, the shipping lanes
4:59
Speaker 3: of the mave oil tankers and cargo ships are allowed
5:02
Speaker 3: to use is actudently about two miles wide in each direction.
5:06
Speaker 3: That's it. It's easy to control that. What's hard to
5:10
Speaker 3: control is the other nineteen miles that you have on
5:12
Speaker 3: the left of the right side, or you can divide
5:14
Speaker 3: it up depending on where these ships are.
5:16
Speaker 4: It is massive, So imagine this.
5:19
Speaker 3: You've got a gigantic oil tanker, then you've got some
5:22
Speaker 3: of the largest objects on Earth moving them. They're forced
5:24
Speaker 3: into an essentially a narrow highway on the water, making
5:28
Speaker 3: them very easy targets. And then there are multiple layers
5:32
Speaker 3: of threats that can come after them because they are
5:35
Speaker 3: in this two mile wide area, all right, So it
5:38
Speaker 3: makes them sitting ducks. Now you also can ask a
5:40
Speaker 3: question why the shipping lane's there. That's the deepest points,
5:42
Speaker 3: and these ships are huge and they're way below the
5:45
Speaker 3: water line right because of how much cargo. So that's
5:48
Speaker 3: part of the reason why you have these narrow basically
5:51
Speaker 3: highway going through the strait for these massive tankers.
5:55
Speaker 4: All right.
5:55
Speaker 3: Now, I RAN strategy is one that is it's really
6:00
Speaker 3: tough to deal with. It's not a go head to
6:02
Speaker 3: head with the US Navy in a traditional fight.
6:05
Speaker 4: We already did that. They lost.
6:07
Speaker 3: We completely took out their entire navy of their large ships.
6:11
Speaker 4: We know that all right.
6:12
Speaker 3: Now they're basically using runabouts like the average boat you
6:15
Speaker 3: would be using if you're going out there to go
6:19
Speaker 3: sight seeing on a lake, or if you're buying a
6:22
Speaker 3: boat to go wait, you know, to go skiing behind.
6:25
Speaker 3: That is what they're using now, that size boat to
6:29
Speaker 3: go after these tankers and these container ships. All right,
6:32
Speaker 3: So this is a lot like just terror, isn't that
6:36
Speaker 3: we see around the world. It's really hard to find
6:38
Speaker 3: a lone wolf. It's really hard to find one individual
6:40
Speaker 3: that wants to blow up you know, a car, or
6:43
Speaker 3: to blow up a bus, or to blow up something
6:45
Speaker 3: in a you know, next to a hotel like a restaurant.
6:48
Speaker 3: You understand that's what they're doing now in the Strait
6:51
Speaker 3: of Horn moves. They deploy these small, fast attack boats,
6:55
Speaker 3: all right. They are operated by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard.
6:59
Speaker 3: They're not stud okay, they're pretty smart. These boats are
7:02
Speaker 3: designed to be low profile, they're designed to be extremely fast,
7:07
Speaker 3: and they're designed to be highly maneuverable. You could say
7:11
Speaker 3: that these boats are faster and smaller than even the
7:14
Speaker 3: boats that you see that pirates have used to go
7:16
Speaker 3: after ships around the Horn of Africa, for example. They
7:21
Speaker 3: also are armed with heavy machine guns, rocket launchers and
7:26
Speaker 3: even anti ship missiles. So this is well executed, well
7:31
Speaker 3: thought out, and they hide well on the sea, all right.
7:34
Speaker 3: So all of that is against Basically, the odds are
7:38
Speaker 3: stacked against us in that way. Now here's the other
7:40
Speaker 3: thing that's interesting. These boats can run skinny. What does
7:43
Speaker 3: that mean. It means in very little water, they can
7:46
Speaker 3: hug the coastline, they can blend in with normal fishing traffic.
7:51
Speaker 3: They can hide along and among the commercial vessels as well.
7:55
Speaker 3: The Persian Gulf, by the way, is very busy. There's
7:58
Speaker 3: constant movement, there's legitimate traffic everywhere, and that cluster makes
8:04
Speaker 3: it actually easier for these boats to hide among other
8:06
Speaker 3: boats and look like it's one thing on the water,
8:08
Speaker 3: when actually it's two things, a large boat and a
8:10
Speaker 3: small boat. So by the time one of these boats
8:13
Speaker 3: breaks away and then starts accelerating towards a tanker or
8:16
Speaker 3: a navy ship, you may have like minutes or even
8:21
Speaker 3: seconds to react because you don't have the radar system
8:26
Speaker 3: that many of us would imagine to see all of
8:29
Speaker 3: these little boats coming at you.
8:31
Speaker 4: Now, just think about.
8:32
Speaker 3: The logistics the physics here. You've got a massive, old
8:35
Speaker 3: tanker that can't swerve or stop. These ships take miles
8:40
Speaker 3: to change course. Literally, they're very slow, they're very predictable,
8:45
Speaker 3: and they're very vulnerable. In these narrow highway lanes that
8:48
Speaker 3: are two miles wide, the Iranian boats can swarm, meaning
8:53
Speaker 3: you're not dealing with one threat, you're dealing with five
8:55
Speaker 3: or ten or even a dozen of them coming from
8:57
Speaker 3: multiple directions at once at one of these tapers. They
9:01
Speaker 3: practice this, they're pretty good at it, and it's like
9:04
Speaker 3: trying to defend a convoy of semi trucks on a
9:07
Speaker 3: two lane road all right, while motorcycles are flying at
9:10
Speaker 3: them in every angle of direction at high speed. That
9:14
Speaker 3: is the best analogy that I can give you. Now,
9:17
Speaker 3: you've got roughly twenty percent of the world's old supply
9:20
Speaker 3: that's passing through the strait. Any disruption, even a temporary one,
9:24
Speaker 3: sends the energy prices skyrocketing overnight.
9:26
Speaker 4: We've witnessed that.
9:28
Speaker 3: So now that you understand this, I want to go
9:31
Speaker 3: back to what America did do, and it's pretty impressive.
9:34
Speaker 3: In the last twenty four hours, the US has sunk
9:38
Speaker 3: six of these small iranium boats. I would refer them
9:42
Speaker 3: as mosquitoes. And Trump is also now warning the regime
9:47
Speaker 3: that they could be blown off the face of the
9:48
Speaker 3: earth if they don't stop this. Now, we sink these
9:51
Speaker 3: six small iranium boats that were deployed to harassed vessels
9:55
Speaker 3: that were stuck in the Strait of Horn Moves shortly before,
9:58
Speaker 3: Trump warn Islamic Republic that look, you guys, keep this up,
10:03
Speaker 3: I'm going to blow you off the face of the earth.
10:05
Speaker 3: And I'm sick and tired of dealing with you, and
10:07
Speaker 3: you guys better reopen the critical waterway and we're going
10:10
Speaker 3: to do everything we can.
10:11
Speaker 4: Now.
10:12
Speaker 3: Admiral Brad Cooper, who's head of the US Central Command
10:14
Speaker 3: known as syncome, he told reporters Monday afternoon in a
10:18
Speaker 3: press call that while Iran historically has to ploy between
10:22
Speaker 3: twenty and forty small boats to threaten commercial shipping in
10:25
Speaker 3: the Strait, he said today we saw it just six
10:28
Speaker 3: and we were able to eliminate all of them. He said,
10:31
Speaker 3: we have an enormous amount of capacity, capability and firepower
10:36
Speaker 3: that's now concentrated in and around the Strait, including Apache helicopters,
10:41
Speaker 3: Seahawk helicopters, and he also emacides that Iran's military capability
10:46
Speaker 3: has been dramatically degraded, which means we've got an upper
10:50
Speaker 3: hand right now on this.
10:52
Speaker 4: Again. That is great news. When you look at the
10:55
Speaker 4: Straight of Horn moves.
10:56
Speaker 3: Not only does it connect the Persian Gulf to the
10:58
Speaker 3: Gulf of Aman, it can next one part of the
11:00
Speaker 3: world to the other. And it's massive. It's not small.
11:04
Speaker 3: And I say that so that you understand just how
11:07
Speaker 3: big this is now. Monday strike occurred after Trump and
11:10
Speaker 3: own Sunday evening of this new Project Freedom. It's this
11:15
Speaker 3: initiative to move maritime traffic through the Strait since it's
11:20
Speaker 3: been backed up for months from the start of Operation
11:22
Speaker 3: Epic Fury on February the twenty eighth. Iran then came
11:26
Speaker 3: out and warned that it would resist any effort to
11:29
Speaker 3: force open the strait and insisted that any ships attempting
11:32
Speaker 3: to move through the waterway must coordinate with Tehran first,
11:37
Speaker 3: prompting Trump to tell Fox News that the Middle Eastern
11:40
Speaker 3: regime would be blown off the face of the earth
11:42
Speaker 3: again if it attacks US flagged vessels, saying, quote, we
11:48
Speaker 3: have more weapons and ammunition at a much higher grade
11:51
Speaker 3: than we had before, is what Trump said. We have
11:54
Speaker 3: the best equipment, We have staff all over the world.
11:58
Speaker 3: We have these bases all over the world. They're all
12:00
Speaker 3: stucked up with equipment, and we can use all of
12:03
Speaker 3: that stuff, and we will if we need it. Now,
12:06
Speaker 3: the President claimed that Iran has become much softer. In
12:09
Speaker 3: other words, you can you can mold them more regarding
12:12
Speaker 3: the peace talks that have stagnated since mid April. Now,
12:16
Speaker 3: let me also go back to what Sincom said.
12:20
Speaker 4: All right.
12:20
Speaker 3: Cooper did not say whether America's strikes on Iran's fast
12:26
Speaker 3: attack boats and Turan's claims that it fired at US
12:29
Speaker 3: warships constant a collapse of the fragile ceasefire secured last month,
12:34
Speaker 3: so that is again up in the air at this
12:37
Speaker 3: point on what's really happening. What Cooper did say was this,
12:41
Speaker 3: I think the key thing here for us is we're
12:45
Speaker 3: merely there as a defensive force to give a very
12:49
Speaker 3: thick layer of defense to commercial ships and commercial shipping
12:54
Speaker 3: to allow them to proceed out of the Persian Gulf.
12:58
Speaker 3: Now right now, there are there are literally hundreds and
13:02
Speaker 3: hundreds of ships that are anchored. You have about eighty
13:06
Speaker 3: seven different countries now that have ships that are flagged
13:11
Speaker 3: to them that are sitting in the Persian Gulf. Syncom said,
13:16
Speaker 3: our job is to give them safe passage.
13:20
Speaker 4: Now here's what we also know.
13:22
Speaker 3: At least two US ships crossed the straight up from
13:25
Speaker 3: Moves on Monday, according to Syncome. A claim that a
13:27
Speaker 3: ram slammed is quote unquote baseless, and again that's nothing
13:31
Speaker 3: but propaganda. I also want you to understand something else
13:34
Speaker 3: about these fast boats that are very sophisticated. A right,
13:37
Speaker 3: they're small. They can hide. It's a very large body
13:41
Speaker 3: of water. They can hide behind other vessels in an attack,
13:43
Speaker 3: and you have virtually no warning. These boats, some of
13:47
Speaker 3: them are smaller than twenty feet long. Now, a typical
13:52
Speaker 3: boat that you would go skiing behind for your family
13:55
Speaker 3: is usually twenty two to twenty five feet, so a
13:59
Speaker 3: lot of these are smaller than that. Some of them
14:02
Speaker 3: even have just one engine but still are able to
14:04
Speaker 3: haul it. Many of them have two and three engines
14:07
Speaker 3: on a very tiny boat. And these are calm waters
14:10
Speaker 3: in the street of four moves, so they're able to
14:12
Speaker 3: just haul it almost like a jet ski I would
14:14
Speaker 3: describe it with just just on top of the water
14:17
Speaker 3: and flooring it. Now, it also remains to be seen
14:20
Speaker 3: how many foreign ships are going to take up saycomes
14:23
Speaker 3: offer to move through the strait after a South Korean
14:27
Speaker 3: used carrier reported an explosion and fire on board when
14:32
Speaker 3: it attempts to cross the waterway. So that's new news there,
14:35
Speaker 3: I guess self. Create didn't want our help. They decided
14:37
Speaker 3: to go to loan. That didn't work very well for them.
14:40
Speaker 3: So what does this mean? Now, it's pretty clear that
14:44
Speaker 3: the present saying I'll give you a safe passage if
14:47
Speaker 3: you want it. You have another boat, by the way
14:49
Speaker 3: that suffered a blast early Monday while fire broke out
14:52
Speaker 3: in the engine room of a Panama flag cargo ship.
14:55
Speaker 3: South Korea's foreign minister has also confirmed now Trump said
14:58
Speaker 3: that that attack on the Namu should push Soul, South Korea,
15:04
Speaker 3: which has twenty six ships trapped in the golf, to
15:06
Speaker 3: join US and military operations to secure the strait. We'll
15:09
Speaker 3: see if they actually do it, the president, saying this
15:12
Speaker 3: on true social quote, perhaps it's time for South Korea
15:15
Speaker 3: to come and join the mission. Other than the South
15:17
Speaker 3: Korean ship, there has been at this moment no damage
15:21
Speaker 3: to ships going through the strait, the President wrote, noting
15:24
Speaker 3: that military commanders will speak to reporters on Tuesday about
15:28
Speaker 3: all of these operations. Now, along with the South Korean ship,
15:31
Speaker 3: you had a UAE oil tanker that was targeted by
15:33
Speaker 3: an Iranian drone as it tried to cross the strade
15:36
Speaker 3: and caught fire as well. So Iran is doing everything
15:40
Speaker 3: they can to try to hurt the US and to
15:43
Speaker 3: try to shut down the strait. That is obvious, the
15:46
Speaker 3: President saying, We're not gonna have it. And then the
15:48
Speaker 3: question becomes, what is next. Is the President going to
15:52
Speaker 3: go back and start hitting targets and individuals in Iran?
15:57
Speaker 3: That is what is really going to be the big
16:00
Speaker 3: question that so many are gonna be looking at next.
16:03
Speaker 3: What's very clear, as the President has made it clear
16:06
Speaker 3: he's not gonna be screwed with or held hostage, and
16:08
Speaker 3: America is there to win, and America is there also
16:11
Speaker 3: to give safe passage.
16:14
Speaker 4: That is very clear.
16:16
Speaker 3: So now we wait and we see what the President
16:18
Speaker 3: does next, but I have a feeling it's gonna be
16:21
Speaker 3: pretty darn aggressive. Quick break, Ben Ferguson Show, More coming up.
