- 0:47SPEAKER_02: And I'm Travis Beasley.
- 0:49SPEAKER_02: And it's currently raining.
- 0:50SPEAKER_01: It is.
- 0:51SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 0:51SPEAKER_02: It actually sounds like the rain has now picked up a little bit since we hit the record button.
- 0:56SPEAKER_01: Yep.
- 0:56SPEAKER_01: That's bad.
- 0:57SPEAKER_01: As it always happens.
- 1:00SPEAKER_03: It's not even spring.
- 1:02SPEAKER_02: Nope.
- 1:02SPEAKER_03: I think we had a delayed spring this year.
- 1:04SPEAKER_03: Actually, what I think happened was that the weather saw what was going on and was like, I'm not gonna fuck with Oklahoma this year.
- 1:11SPEAKER_01: Not right now.
- 1:12SPEAKER_02: Which, you know, appreciative of that one.
- 1:15SPEAKER_01: Also you were like, it's not spring.
- 1:17SPEAKER_01: And I had to stop and think, like, wait, isn't it spr oh no, it's it's it's almost August.
- 1:23SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 1:24SPEAKER_01: Dude, time has been time is not real.
- 1:27SPEAKER_03: Um but uh yeah, it like everything's been so fucky, we didn't even get tornadoes this year.
- 1:35SPEAKER_03: What is that about?
- 1:36SPEAKER_01: I mean, knock on wood.
- 1:39SPEAKER_01: So uh that was a uh just you know so it enjoy the just enjoy the ambient rain sounds in the background.
- 1:47SPEAKER_01: If they even come through, they might not, but we'll see.
- 1:49SPEAKER_01: Imagine.
- 1:50SPEAKER_01: We'll probably get put out in posts on a and then I'll put better, I'll put better rain sounds under in post.
- 1:56SPEAKER_01: Perfect.
- 1:57SPEAKER_01: No, I won't.
- 1:58SPEAKER_03: But jumping right into it because this is a bit of a long-winded episode of Oh boy.
- 2:06SPEAKER_03: We're back in the abyss with a gentle rain in the background.
- 2:11SPEAKER_01: A hell rain?
- 2:12SPEAKER_03: Acid do they get like acid rain?
- 2:14SPEAKER_03: It depends on what layer you're on.
- 2:16SPEAKER_03: Great.
- 2:17SPEAKER_02: Right, yeah.
- 2:18SPEAKER_03: So when we last left off, I discussed the history of the demons, the different types of demons, and delved a little bit into how they're run, which is to say chaotically and evilly.
- 2:27SPEAKER_03: Chaotic evilly.
- 2:29SPEAKER_01: Chaotically evil.
- 2:31SPEAKER_01: Evilly chaotic.
- 2:33SPEAKER_03: So basically, shortly after Mortal Evil brought the Tanari on the scene, they all but destroyed their masters, the Oberiths, and made the very first Tanari Demogorgon.
- 2:42SPEAKER_03: Uh, who became the Prince of Demons.
- 2:44SPEAKER_03: Oh, okay.
- 2:44SPEAKER_03: He also accidentally made a god of demonic dinosaurs and a new race of incorporeal demons, but that's just a footnote.
- 2:51SPEAKER_03: This is all the stuff that we covered last time.
- 2:52SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I was gonna say it happens.
- 2:54SPEAKER_02: This is a very quick uh briefing of the last episode.
- 2:57SPEAKER_02: Previously.
- 2:59SPEAKER_03: The last demon episode.
- 3:01SPEAKER_03: Not the last.
- 3:02SPEAKER_01: So if you click on the very last one, you you will not find demon dinosaurs, and I'm sorry.
- 3:08SPEAKER_03: The the Tanari are a diverse race of creatures, especially when compared to even other infernals.
- 3:15SPEAKER_03: In universe, the reason for why there are so many unique monstrosities as well as common typings of Tanare and in general demons, is just that there are some types of evil that are common and ever-present, creating a single type of demon, which I think is kind of neat.
- 3:31SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 3:32SPEAKER_01: I mean, that makes sense to me.
- 3:34SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I mean I can I can fall it simple, but yeah, it's I mean they're done.
- 3:41SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 3:42SPEAKER_01: I'm I'm with it.
- 3:43SPEAKER_03: So as you'll recall, uh Tonari were created by corrupted souls of evil mortals, blah blah blah.
- 3:49SPEAKER_03: And if there's one thing that the mortals are good at, it's repeating the same mistakes over and over.
- 3:56SPEAKER_02: What really?
- 3:57SPEAKER_03: Too real.
- 3:58SPEAKER_03: This makes the Tanare the most numerous in both sheer volume, but also the different types.
- 4:04SPEAKER_03: By fifth edition, it's been whittled down to about 11 types, but we'll try and cover all editions.
- 4:10SPEAKER_03: Which is still a lot.
- 4:11SPEAKER_03: Yes.
- 4:12SPEAKER_01: Really, I mean.
- 4:13SPEAKER_01: And and plus, I may be correct me if I'm wrong, but I get the feeling that it it might be one of those situations where it's like there's innumerable amount like kinds of tonare, but they're not gonna So basically it's kind of just you can get away, you could easily get away as a uh writer for DD with just making up another kind of tonare and and it it wouldn't strictly go against canon.
- 4:44SPEAKER_03: Especially because, and this is kind of jumping ahead, but a lot of the demon lords are on their own, just unique monstrosities.
- 4:52SPEAKER_03: Gotcha.
- 4:54SPEAKER_03: So the Tonare existed as far back as first edition, though not under the same name.
- 4:59SPEAKER_03: Uh that name actually was not introduced until second edition.
- 5:02SPEAKER_03: They were all just demons.
- 5:04SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 5:04SPEAKER_03: So first edition brought us the Tonari types of mains, Secubai, Hezru, Glebrezu, and Rock, Nalfeshni, Baylors, and Meriliths.
- 5:16unknown: Okay.
- 5:18SPEAKER_02: It's gonna be another one of those episodes, guys.
- 5:21SPEAKER_02: I think I recognize like three or four of those.
- 5:25SPEAKER_02: I don't think those were words that you just said.
- 5:29SPEAKER_03: So by fifth edition, a few editions were made, and succubi were removed entirely and classified as neutral evil shapeshifters.
- 5:37SPEAKER_03: But for the most part, those core demons are the building blocks of the Tonari.
- 5:42SPEAKER_03: Gotcha.
- 5:43SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 5:43SPEAKER_03: Uh first edition also gave us the Gorstroi as a in a Dragon magazine article penned by Gary Gygax in 1984.
- 5:52SPEAKER_03: Um, Garestoi is the plural of Garesto.
- 5:56SPEAKER_03: Um, so I I will get to that later.
- 6:00SPEAKER_01: Oh, okay.
- 6:00SPEAKER_02: I was supposed to say I Is he a demon painter?
- 6:04SPEAKER_01: I was gonna say, I hope that doesn't that's not supposed to mean something to me right now, because it doesn't.
- 6:09SPEAKER_03: Uh so uh Planescape in second edition brought us many things always out there.
- 6:17SPEAKER_02: Oh man, yeah.
- 6:18SPEAKER_02: I honestly kind of forget about Planescape from time to time.
- 6:22SPEAKER_02: Like the stuff that it throws in.
- 6:25SPEAKER_02: Oh, yeah.
- 6:26SPEAKER_03: Just expanded so much.
- 6:28SPEAKER_03: Thank you, Planescape.
- 6:29SPEAKER_03: Thank you, Planescape.
- 6:30SPEAKER_03: Thank you, Planescape.
- 6:31SPEAKER_03: Honestly, this whole arc and the last celestial arc, I've just been living in Planescape.
- 6:37SPEAKER_01: Yeah, sometimes it'd be that way.
- 6:40SPEAKER_03: So uh Planescape introduced the Alophines and the Cambions, which I will say are now right fully absorbed into the half fiend description.
- 6:47SPEAKER_03: So allofenes are the descendants of female succubi and male mortals, and cambians are the descendants of male incubi, slash succubi, and female mortals.
- 7:00SPEAKER_01: Okay, yeah.
- 7:01SPEAKER_01: Uh gotcha.
- 7:03SPEAKER_03: Yeah, so they're just half fiends.
- 7:05SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 7:06SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 7:06SPEAKER_01: Yeah, because that was a Seric situation, if I remember correctly.
- 7:10SPEAKER_01: He was a Cambian, his mother was a human.
- 7:12SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 7:13SPEAKER_01: And his father was a demon.
- 7:14SPEAKER_01: And now he's half fiend or chiefling.
- 7:18SPEAKER_03: J just depends.
- 7:19SPEAKER_03: I mean now he's dead.
- 7:21SPEAKER_03: Okay, well.
- 7:22SPEAKER_03: Anyway, uh, Planescape also gave us the Alkalith, the Babus, uh, the Balgora, the Bebeliths, the Kazmi, the Dretches, the Marzi, the Molly Deus, the Nabusu, the Rudderkin, and the Uridazu.
- 7:40SPEAKER_03: Okay.
- 7:42SPEAKER_03: Don't worry, I will describe all of these.
- 7:44SPEAKER_03: You this won't you won't have to remember uh all of them.
- 7:47SPEAKER_03: This won't be on the test.
- 7:49SPEAKER_02: That's good.
- 7:49SPEAKER_02: Wait, there's a test?
- 7:52SPEAKER_02: Shit.
- 7:55SPEAKER_01: Uh I don't see you taking notes.
- 7:57SPEAKER_01: That's that's why I have my phone out.
- 8:00SPEAKER_02: I'll just pull your uh notes up.
- 8:02SPEAKER_02: It's fine.
- 8:02SPEAKER_01: Ah.
- 8:03SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 8:07SPEAKER_01: The negatives to a shared gable doc.
- 8:10SPEAKER_01: So Google Drive.
- 8:12SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 8:12SPEAKER_03: Sorry.
- 8:13SPEAKER_03: Or the negatives of you know, just leaving it all out in the open.
- 8:18SPEAKER_03: True.
- 8:19SPEAKER_03: So third edition brought in the Edaru, Arrow Demons, Cerebellith, Castiger, Clericur, Mimixicus, the Par the Palethi, and the Sarosworn.
- 8:34SPEAKER_02: The Mimicus.
- 8:37SPEAKER_03: The the Mimicu.
- 8:39SPEAKER_03: Nope.
- 8:40SPEAKER_02: Are they just Mimicus?
- 8:41SPEAKER_03: Myrmixicus.
- 8:42SPEAKER_03: Myrmixicus.
- 8:43SPEAKER_02: Myrmixicus.
- 8:45SPEAKER_02: The the Oh, they're Roman demons.
- 8:47SPEAKER_03: Yes, naturally.
- 8:48SPEAKER_02: Right.
- 8:50SPEAKER_03: So fourth edition brought in very few few new Tannare, in part because it was mostly concerned with whittling down, though perhaps rightfully so with the Tanare.
- 9:01SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 9:02SPEAKER_02: In this instance, yeah, like less is probably more now.
- 9:07SPEAKER_01: You know, that's probably acceptable.
- 9:10SPEAKER_01: I'm torn between being not surprised that fourth edition didn't really hold on, hold on.
- 9:17SPEAKER_03: Didn't really add anything to the side.
- 9:18SPEAKER_03: Yeah, hold on.
- 9:20SPEAKER_03: Because um it just give them that their win for that one, and I will tell you why you're going to be frustrated.
- 9:31SPEAKER_03: Okay.
- 9:31SPEAKER_03: So the ones that were introduced were the Imoleth, the Mesodemon, and the Evi Avistro.
- 9:38SPEAKER_03: It's all very fourth edition.
- 9:40SPEAKER_03: I mean, okay, this isn't necessarily necessarily fourth edition's fault, but the Imolith were only ever mentioned in fourth edition monster manual, and the same with the Avistro.
- 9:50SPEAKER_03: In fact, for the Avistro, I found almost no information on them even existing outside of a tiny entry in the same monster manual.
- 9:57SPEAKER_01: Wow.
- 9:58SPEAKER_01: I think I'm gonna have a heart attack of not surprised.
- 10:01SPEAKER_01: The Imoleth at least had a wheat wiki entry.
- 10:06SPEAKER_01: You know it's you know it's bad when there's that link to something related in the wiki entry and it's red.
- 10:13SPEAKER_01: You're like, damn it.
- 10:14SPEAKER_01: It's like nope.
- 10:15SPEAKER_03: No, it wasn't even listed under there.
- 10:17SPEAKER_03: I yeah, no, I was literally only found it like I was going through each of the monster manuals to make sure that I found everything and didn't like miss anything.
- 10:28SPEAKER_03: And there's nothing.
- 10:30SPEAKER_02: So they were like written about in this one tiny little like paragraph and then just forgot about.
- 10:38SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 10:39SPEAKER_03: Wow.
- 10:39SPEAKER_03: A stat block exists for them, and I've seen one or two pieces of art for them.
- 10:45SPEAKER_03: Wow.
- 10:45SPEAKER_03: I think I'm gonna have a heart attack.
- 10:47SPEAKER_03: Not surprised.
- 10:49SPEAKER_03: So as for the mezzodemon, they were a victim of fourth edition's very stupid alignment changes.
- 10:56SPEAKER_03: They were called m mezzaloths and classified as neutral evil infernals in every edition since first, except for fourth.
- 11:04SPEAKER_01: Okay, great.
- 11:05SPEAKER_03: So I'm not gonna talk about them yet, because they're not demons.
- 11:07SPEAKER_03: Fourth edition just classified them as demons.
- 11:10SPEAKER_03: Okay.
- 11:10SPEAKER_01: Oh, yeah, okay.
- 11:12SPEAKER_01: And they had a variation called Forte, they had a variation called Soprano, and it was stupid because they were just, I'm sorry, that was a stupid joke.
- 11:22SPEAKER_01: Moving on to actual demons.
- 11:25SPEAKER_03: Fifth edition gave us no new tonari and simply made some much-needed changes to the organization of demons.
- 11:32SPEAKER_03: Thank you.
- 11:33SPEAKER_03: Thank you.
- 11:34SPEAKER_02: Thank you, fifth edition.
- 11:35SPEAKER_02: Just, you know, kind of polishing things as time goes on, skipping fourth edition that reverted back to the like Neolithic age and then Yeah.
- 11:46SPEAKER_02: Rip.
- 11:47SPEAKER_03: So now we're actually going to discuss each of the types of the demons, and it's going to be, as you can tell, a little wild.
- 11:57SPEAKER_03: And I'm going to tell you guys about these demons right after we take a quick break.
- 12:01SPEAKER_01: God damn it.
- 12:03SPEAKER_01: Alright, fine.
- 12:06SPEAKER_03: Hey everybody, thank you so much for listening to Demons Part 2.

- 12:17SPEAKER_01: It happened.
- 12:18SPEAKER_02: Yep.
- 12:19SPEAKER_01: Some sometimes it'd be that way.
- 12:22SPEAKER_01: More content for you, I suppose.

- 15:28SPEAKER_01: She's busy with the the evil row.
- 15:31SPEAKER_01: The demon of the This started so innocently.
- 15:37SPEAKER_03: I'm gonna talk about some of the celestials.

- 16:13SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 16:14SPEAKER_02: Because this has definitely turned into a multi-parter.
- 16:18SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 16:19SPEAKER_01: We're good at that.
- 16:21SPEAKER_01: Sometimes it'd be that way.
- 16:22SPEAKER_02: Sometimes it do be that way.
- 16:24SPEAKER_02: Uh, big thank you to Alexander Nakarata for our theme song Blacksmith.
- 16:29SPEAKER_01: And I think with that, we're gonna venture back into the abyss and talk more about the Tonari.
- 16:36SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 16:38SPEAKER_01: Okay, let's get wild.
- 16:40SPEAKER_03: So, let's start in alphabetical order with the Adaru.
- 16:44SPEAKER_03: Uh, the Adaru were this cunning mobile tonaru or sorry, Tonari, that really enjoyed corrupting uh mortals and collecting minions.
- 16:57SPEAKER_03: Ooh.
- 16:58SPEAKER_02: Yes.
- 16:59SPEAKER_03: They also looked like massive millipedes.
- 17:01SPEAKER_03: And they had these humanoid faces that kind of look like a twisted cherub.
- 17:08SPEAKER_01: That's fun.
- 17:09SPEAKER_02: Okay, that's fun.
- 17:10SPEAKER_02: Okay, I know it's gonna be a little bit long, and I'm not gonna go too far off here, but do you know what that description just reminded me of?
- 17:15SPEAKER_02: Yes.
- 17:16SPEAKER_01: Code of the face dealer?
- 17:17SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 17:17SPEAKER_01: Hey, same thing.
- 17:19SPEAKER_01: Same thought.
- 17:20SPEAKER_01: Same thought stealer.
- 17:21SPEAKER_01: It it he looks like Code of the Face Stealer.
- 17:24SPEAKER_01: Obligatory Avatar Last Cerebender reference.
- 17:27SPEAKER_01: Also, you said minions.
- 17:30SPEAKER_03: And I just thought you thought of a demon collecting minion uh paraphernalia.
- 17:36SPEAKER_01: No, like the actual, like the actual creatures.
- 17:40SPEAKER_03: So like that guy No, that that that's what I was uh saying.
- 17:43SPEAKER_03: Uh uh that he him collecting Oh, you thought of him collecting like actual minions.
- 17:48SPEAKER_01: Yeah, like like he he exists in the despicable meat universe.
- 17:52SPEAKER_01: Oh my god.
- 17:53SPEAKER_01: That's just m strange millipede.
- 17:56SPEAKER_01: So um what what what is his name again?
- 17:58SPEAKER_01: Yellow.
- 18:00SPEAKER_03: He's not a speci like he's not a one demon, he's a classification of demons.
- 18:05SPEAKER_02: I just want to look up a picture of Yeah, go ahead.
- 18:08SPEAKER_02: Um I don't know if that's how you spell it.
- 18:10SPEAKER_02: How do you spell it?
- 18:11SPEAKER_01: A-D-A-R-U.
- 18:12SPEAKER_01: That's nasty.
- 18:14SPEAKER_01: Oh, I kinda like it though.
- 18:16SPEAKER_01: Oh, what's wrong with his butt?
- 18:17SPEAKER_01: Okay, anyway, moving on.
- 18:19SPEAKER_01: Anyway.
- 18:20SPEAKER_01: Uh, you're fine.
- 18:21SPEAKER_03: Um, yeah.
- 18:23SPEAKER_03: So they like to burrow and climb, very mobile.
- 18:28SPEAKER_03: Uh they had this uh poisonous mist emitting from their body, and it sickened non-evil beings and aided evil beings.
- 18:36SPEAKER_03: They're also immune to uh spells that restrict movement and have access to greater teleport.
- 18:43SPEAKER_01: Okay, that like I get it, but the the fact that the mist only affects non-evil creatures is like hilarious to me.
- 18:51SPEAKER_02: Right.
- 18:52SPEAKER_02: I actually kind of got like caught on that for a second.
- 18:54SPEAKER_02: I was like, okay, the mist was really cool.
- 18:56SPEAKER_02: Wait, what?
- 18:57SPEAKER_02: It only affects non-evil creatures?
- 18:59SPEAKER_03: No, I no, it only hurts non-evil creatures and aids evil creatures.
- 19:03SPEAKER_01: That's just like hilarious.
- 19:04SPEAKER_01: Like, I don't know.
- 19:06SPEAKER_01: I don't know why that's that visual is funny to me.
- 19:09SPEAKER_01: Anyway, sorry.
- 19:10SPEAKER_03: No, you're fine.
- 19:10SPEAKER_03: Um, a daru were said to be born in the abyss whenever mortals spoke uh lies that had grave consequences.
- 19:18SPEAKER_04: Okay.
- 19:19SPEAKER_03: Oh, moving on are the alkalith.
- 19:23SPEAKER_03: Um, they are actually one of the few types of demons that even other demons find revolting.
- 19:30SPEAKER_02: Oh, that's nice.
- 19:31SPEAKER_03: Yeah, they're this their body is this oozy green, phosphorescent mass of like dripping, toxic corruption.
- 19:43SPEAKER_03: Uh they're described as putrescents made living.
- 19:46SPEAKER_03: Uh, they are an embodiment of pestilence and heralds of blight.
- 19:51SPEAKER_03: Um, they're covered in leather the in a leather leathery coating that c constantly cracked open and oozed and hardened again.
- 20:00SPEAKER_03: Uh, they were about six feet in diameter and could alter their form to fit into archways and cracks where they could be easily mistaken for strange fungal growths where they would prey on people.
- 20:10SPEAKER_04: Huh.
- 20:11SPEAKER_03: Um they took great pleasure in polluting their environment, and their desire was so extreme that they were willing to ignore attacks again against them for the chance of corrupting a fresh body of water.
- 20:23SPEAKER_02: Hmm.
- 20:24SPEAKER_02: Too real.
- 20:25SPEAKER_02: I gotta say, while the other demons might find it revolting, I mean the artwork is kind of cool.
- 20:31SPEAKER_02: I kinda like it.
- 20:33SPEAKER_02: Minus the fact that I'm sure it smells just god-awful, but Yeah.
- 20:37SPEAKER_01: It I do like the artwork for it though.
- 20:39SPEAKER_03: Uh the Alkaliths were created and served the Demon Lord Jubilex, which we will talk about later.
- 20:47SPEAKER_03: And you will recognize, I'm sure, exactly when I bring it in up.
- 20:52SPEAKER_02: Jubilex.
- 20:53SPEAKER_02: Jubilex.
- 20:54SPEAKER_02: Jubilex.
- 20:55SPEAKER_03: Um, okay, so the next is the Armonite.
- 20:58SPEAKER_03: They're this Tonari demon that looks like an undead senator.
- 21:02SPEAKER_03: Um they have like these bullhorns and um they honestly they look so cool.
- 21:12SPEAKER_02: I love it.
- 21:14SPEAKER_02: Yeah, same.
- 21:15SPEAKER_02: Uh that tail is wicked.
- 21:17SPEAKER_03: They were clannish and territorial demons and they forbade all trespassers.
- 21:23SPEAKER_03: Uh they took jobs that had immense amounts of bloodshed with the least personal risk.
- 21:29SPEAKER_03: They were also incredibly arrogant, and uh if not rewarded the plunder they expected for their services or given orders they didn't like, they would desert or even rebel against their employers.
- 21:41SPEAKER_02: Um, like, do they use their tail for like attacks or something?
- 21:49SPEAKER_02: Because that thing is like a sawblade on the other.
- 21:52SPEAKER_03: Their tails are this long serrated like saw blade, pretty much, and um they they use.
- 22:00SPEAKER_03: Used it to like attack in between gouts and armor.
- 22:03SPEAKER_01: Nice.
- 22:04SPEAKER_01: Uh, this is a pull.
- 22:05SPEAKER_01: It reminds me a little bit of the Andelites from the Animorphs book series.
- 22:11SPEAKER_01: Oh god.
- 22:12SPEAKER_01: That's a pull.
- 22:13SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 22:13SPEAKER_01: That's a pull right there, but that's kind of what they they remind me of a little bit, except uh Angry.
- 22:19SPEAKER_01: I do not understand that reference.
- 22:21SPEAKER_01: It's okay.
- 22:21SPEAKER_01: Undead.
- 22:22SPEAKER_01: It's okay.
- 22:22SPEAKER_01: I I barely understand that reference.
- 22:25SPEAKER_01: I I read a lot of those books and I barely understand that reference anymore.
- 22:29SPEAKER_03: So the next is the Arrow Demon, which um are kind of they're I don't want to say your basic demon, but they're like your foot soldier demon.
- 22:40SPEAKER_03: Um they they're very humanoid.
- 22:43SPEAKER_03: They are basically really ugly thin um forearmed orcs.
- 22:51SPEAKER_01: Yeah, they kind of look like a Yeah.
- 22:54SPEAKER_01: Well, okay, I would say a cross between a human and an orc, but not in a half orc way.
- 22:59SPEAKER_01: But in a like corrupted bad way.
- 23:01SPEAKER_01: If that makes sense.
- 23:03SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 23:03SPEAKER_01: Also, they just like made this and they were like, oh, it's so basic, we don't know what to call it.
- 23:09SPEAKER_01: Oh fuck, it's got a bow.
- 23:10SPEAKER_01: Let's call it an arrow.
- 23:11SPEAKER_01: Arrow demon.
- 23:12SPEAKER_02: It's an aero demon.
- 23:14SPEAKER_03: Um, they were one of the few types of demons that actually had like this uh teamwork mentality, but like it's more of a group survival kind of thing and less altruistic.
- 23:24SPEAKER_01: Aw, that's not nice.
- 23:26SPEAKER_03: Uh they're cruel, cold-hearted creatures, and they yeah.
- 23:31SPEAKER_01: They have bows.
- 23:32SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 23:33SPEAKER_02: I mean, a creature that has four arms, you might as well give it bows.
- 23:37SPEAKER_02: True.
- 23:37SPEAKER_03: True.
- 23:38SPEAKER_03: Uh, next up is one of the most like iconic of uh demons.
- 23:45SPEAKER_03: It's the Baylor.
- 23:47SPEAKER_03: They were one of the most powerful demons described as the quintessential Tanari, and like for good reason.
- 23:55SPEAKER_03: They're imposing humanoid figures.
- 23:58SPEAKER_03: They stand at 12 feet tall, weigh around 4,500 pounds.
- 24:02SPEAKER_03: Uh, they have this incredible, powerful aura of darkness that um envelops their forms.
- 24:09SPEAKER_03: They have deep red skin and flaming whips.
- 24:14SPEAKER_01: Yeah, this is very classic.
- 24:17SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 24:18SPEAKER_02: Yeah, which like the flaming whip is probably one of my favorite aesthetics for a demon.
- 24:24SPEAKER_01: Yeah, also, if I remember correctly, um Oseric's father was a demon, or as was a demon.
- 24:29SPEAKER_01: Uh Oseric's father was a Baylor, if I remember correctly.
- 24:32SPEAKER_03: Probably.
- 24:33SPEAKER_03: Um, they are driven by overwhelming and primal urge to battle and have a passionate rage.
- 24:39SPEAKER_03: Same.
- 24:42SPEAKER_03: They're still highly intelligent creatures.
- 24:45SPEAKER_03: They just want to quell their bloodlust, which is unquenchable.
- 24:50SPEAKER_03: Uh I mean that's really all there is to it.
- 24:55SPEAKER_01: I mean, I Yeah, like I mean, they they look cool.
- 24:59SPEAKER_01: Like, there's a there's a lot of stuff going on, but they are very like classic demon.
- 25:06SPEAKER_01: Um like this is definitely the picture a lot of people have when they think demon.
- 25:11SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 25:11SPEAKER_03: Um, I will mention that Baylor, um, Baylors as a whole were actually named after a ba after one of their own who was called Baylor.
- 25:21SPEAKER_03: Um he was the most powerful uh and fought with Lulf and fought with uh he was favored by Baphomet.
- 25:32SPEAKER_02: I remember seeing a specific like person, yeah, I guess in this case, demon, whatever, like a specific thing that was named Baylor, not they are a Baylord.
- 25:44SPEAKER_02: So he is Baylor.
- 25:45SPEAKER_01: Imagine if there was a human named human.
- 25:48SPEAKER_01: How fucked up would that be?
- 25:49SPEAKER_02: There might be.
- 25:50SPEAKER_03: There might be.
- 25:51SPEAKER_03: Oh gosh.
- 25:52SPEAKER_03: Moving on, uh, are the Balgura, uh, also known as leaping demons.
- 25:58SPEAKER_03: They're this um bee-steel tonnery that kind of resemble orangutans.
- 26:02SPEAKER_03: Oh yeah.
- 26:03SPEAKER_03: Um the they are like five to six feet tall, which, you know, they look huge when you think about it, but then you think about it standing next to a Baylord, it's like that's half height.
- 26:14SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 26:15SPEAKER_01: They're they're very um they're very chonky though.
- 26:18SPEAKER_03: Yeah, but it's the artwork that does it for you.
- 26:21SPEAKER_02: Well, yeah, I know.
- 26:21SPEAKER_02: I'm just saying, like, when you think of height, it's like that's a Yeah.
- 26:25SPEAKER_01: That's still pretty.
- 26:26SPEAKER_01: I would not want to stand next to that thing.
- 26:28SPEAKER_02: Well, yeah, and even though it's only six feet, the thing is like solid muscle.
- 26:32SPEAKER_03: Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 26:33SPEAKER_03: It's big.
- 26:34SPEAKER_03: Uh about six hundred and fifty pounds of it, actually.
- 26:36SPEAKER_02: Jesus.
- 26:37SPEAKER_01: Big thick boys.
- 26:39SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 26:40SPEAKER_01: Jesus.
- 26:41SPEAKER_03: Um, they were the most animalistic of the Tonari, um, but they were not really true beasts, but they were not all also not very intelligent.
- 26:51SPEAKER_03: Um they were somewhat indifferent to the dealings of demon politics and infighting.
- 26:57SPEAKER_03: They were mostly just content to just give in to their basic animal instincts.
- 27:03SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I mean that I think that makes sense with their um like their appearance, their vibe.
- 27:09SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 27:09SPEAKER_01: Yeah, they're just kind of I mean, they're animals.
- 27:12SPEAKER_03: They didn't actually despise the Beitazoo.
- 27:15SPEAKER_03: Um, they just kind of are pretty much just out for themselves in the most chaotic sense.
- 27:21SPEAKER_02: Because their instincts are chaotic.
- 27:24SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 27:25SPEAKER_03: Um they're they're territorial, but I mean as long as you stay away from them, they're really not gonna come after you.
- 27:33SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 27:34SPEAKER_02: That's good, at least.
- 27:37SPEAKER_03: So the next one that we have is the Balez.
- 27:41SPEAKER_03: Sorry.
- 27:42SPEAKER_03: I I always I always uh go straight for it without looking at the little description I have.
- 27:49SPEAKER_03: The Balazau.
- 27:50SPEAKER_03: Or sorry, the Bula Zau.
- 27:52SPEAKER_03: And it was a violence-craving tonary demon that appeared to be a gaunt minotaur.
- 27:59SPEAKER_03: They were kind of the heavy, heavy infantry of the abyss.
- 28:03SPEAKER_03: Um the demonic breed was commonly referred to by planar scholars as Baphomet's perfect children because Baphomet is the one who created them.
- 28:12SPEAKER_03: And they look like Baphomet.
- 28:13SPEAKER_03: And they look like Baphomet.
- 28:15SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 28:15SPEAKER_03: Right.
- 28:16SPEAKER_03: They're like, like I said, very skeletal uh rather than muscular.
- 28:21SPEAKER_03: And rather than like the horns of a bull, they have these ram, ramhorns as well.
- 28:27SPEAKER_03: Well, and uh their feet ended in claws instead of hooves.
- 28:31SPEAKER_03: So they're not like the perfect like Baphomet clone.
- 28:34SPEAKER_02: Yeah, but but the they do definitely resemble Baphomet.
- 28:38SPEAKER_03: They look fucking awesome.
- 28:40SPEAKER_03: They're surrounded by flies and their flesh is covered in maggots.
- 28:44SPEAKER_02: Their tail looks like it's dripping fucking poison.
- 28:47SPEAKER_03: It is.
- 28:48SPEAKER_03: Oh, fantastic.
- 28:49SPEAKER_02: Nice.
- 28:50SPEAKER_01: They look fucking awesome, actually.
- 28:53SPEAKER_03: So they are antagonistic, violent bullies, and they delighted in causing conflict, and they only gained entertainment through combat, whether that was their own combat or watching people.
- 29:08SPEAKER_03: Other people fight, yeah.
- 29:09SPEAKER_03: Disagreements among them turned violent easily.
- 29:12SPEAKER_03: I can imagine.
- 29:13SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 29:14SPEAKER_02: Hmm.
- 29:14SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I'm not surprised on that one.
- 29:17SPEAKER_03: So the next one is the cerebral, which is a type of tonnery demon um that possessed psionic powers.
- 29:25SPEAKER_03: Great.
- 29:26SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 29:27SPEAKER_03: So it was a huge, monstrous, ogre-like humanoid, except for it didn't have skin.
- 29:35SPEAKER_03: It was pretty I mean it did, but it was like attached to the bone.
- 29:40SPEAKER_02: Yeah, that's all it is.
- 29:42SPEAKER_02: It's it's just like skin and bone.
- 29:45SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 29:45SPEAKER_01: It's like it doesn't have flesh.
- 29:48SPEAKER_01: A hideous, swollen and exposed brain.
- 29:52SPEAKER_01: Oh, that that is its brain.
- 29:53SPEAKER_01: Yep.
- 29:54SPEAKER_03: Oh shielded beneath its spinal bones.
- 29:56SPEAKER_01: I just noticed that as you started saying that.
- 30:00SPEAKER_01: Yeah, it's its brain is very long and just kind of out.
- 30:04SPEAKER_03: Yeah, it's a big old brain.
- 30:06SPEAKER_02: I feel like they're using the word shielded very loosely here.
- 30:09SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 30:09SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 30:11SPEAKER_03: It's um mostly just like, oh hey, it it's got a couple of strong points, but if you poke it right there, it might forget the word for fight.
- 30:19SPEAKER_03: That seems like a design flaw.
- 30:22SPEAKER_03: A little bit.
- 30:23SPEAKER_01: Or maybe its brain is like tough.
- 30:26SPEAKER_03: Or maybe its brain is protected by psionics.
- 30:28SPEAKER_01: Oh, sure, right.
- 30:30SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I mean, you're right.
- 30:31SPEAKER_01: I forgot that.
- 30:31SPEAKER_01: And this thing has psionics.
- 30:33SPEAKER_01: Phenomenal.
- 30:34SPEAKER_02: Uh that, yep, that's horrifying.
- 30:36SPEAKER_03: So the next one that we have is the Casmi, and it's sometimes called the Fly Demon because it is a fly demon.
- 30:46SPEAKER_03: They were horrible, disgusting giant flies that suck the blood and enjoy torturing and tormenting their victims.
- 30:56SPEAKER_02: It's a mosquito.
- 30:57SPEAKER_03: Yeah, it looks like a mosquito.
- 30:59SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 31:00SPEAKER_03: Look, I'm just I'm just reading what I uh what I uh wrote down.
- 31:05SPEAKER_02: Yeah, no, no, I know.
- 31:06SPEAKER_02: I'm just saying to help people with that, it's mosquito.
- 31:12SPEAKER_03: I mean, really, they they can grow about seven feet to nine feet in length, and they were very lightweight for a giant mosquito fly human.
- 31:24SPEAKER_03: Uh when speaking, Casmies had this rasping buzzing noise, but communicated via telepathy mostly.
- 31:33SPEAKER_03: Uh their blood was black.
- 31:36SPEAKER_03: What else?
- 31:36SPEAKER_03: They were cunning but cowardly.
- 31:39SPEAKER_03: Uh, but they love to torture.
- 31:42SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I mean, they have the tools to do so.
- 31:45SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 31:45SPEAKER_02: There's some real choice art and choice miniatures of these guys.
- 31:51SPEAKER_01: This looks like what's his name from the Phantom Menace?
- 31:54SPEAKER_01: Oh my god.
- 31:55SPEAKER_01: The slave owner who formerly owned Waddle.
- 31:59SPEAKER_03: Wato.
- 31:59SPEAKER_03: Yeah, thank you.
- 32:01SPEAKER_03: Dretches are uh the least powerful of Tonari.
- 32:06SPEAKER_03: They were petty, ugly demons that were usually sacrificed by hierarchying demons.
- 32:12SPEAKER_03: Um they were about four feet tall, weighed sixty pounds, and that they're fucking hideous.
- 32:19SPEAKER_02: That weighs more than sixty pounds.
- 32:21SPEAKER_02: They've got like a mole face.
- 32:23SPEAKER_02: Uh yeah, they've got this Or like a naked mole rat.
- 32:28SPEAKER_03: Naked mole rats are much cuter than this.
- 32:30SPEAKER_03: Yeah, yeah, and there's a interesting They had like slobbery, slack mouths and there's an interesting, maybe, maybe striated color, maybe hair situation happening.
- 32:44SPEAKER_01: It's bristly hair.
- 32:45SPEAKER_01: Right, yeah, right in the the genital region that immediately caught my eye, and I was like, what's that?
- 32:52SPEAKER_01: What is that?
- 32:53SPEAKER_03: Did not even Well, luckily, um, it's not anything other than hair because they don't reproduce.
- 33:02SPEAKER_02: Thank goodness.
- 33:04SPEAKER_03: Yeah, that's except by nature of hu of mortal uh.
- 33:09SPEAKER_01: Man, what do you have to do wrong in your life to turn into one of these things?
- 33:12SPEAKER_01: Because I'm going to avoid doing that.
- 33:15SPEAKER_02: Ugh.
- 33:16SPEAKER_03: They nasty.
- 33:18SPEAKER_02: They are like that's worse than the Um mostly it's displeasure that caught creates them.
- 33:25SPEAKER_03: Oh.
- 33:25SPEAKER_01: Well, I'm displeased all the time.
- 33:27SPEAKER_01: Damn it.
- 33:29SPEAKER_02: Well, you're screwed.
- 33:30SPEAKER_01: Uh no, I'm gonna be a dretch, guys.
- 33:35SPEAKER_03: So the next one, moving right along, is the Glabra Zoo.
- 33:40SPEAKER_03: Um, it is this um it's so difficult to explain it.
- 33:45SPEAKER_03: They have four arms, but not in a traditional way.
- 33:47SPEAKER_03: The bigger set is or the top set is much bigger, much, much bigger, and it has two little pincer hands on that one.
- 33:56SPEAKER_03: Yep.
- 33:57SPEAKER_03: The smaller set protrudes there from their stomach, and those are clawed.
- 34:02SPEAKER_03: Um, goat horns are on the top of their head, their skin's like wrinkly and like leathery.
- 34:09SPEAKER_03: Um, they have a canine head with numerous fangs.
- 34:16SPEAKER_03: I feel like someone's kid designed this thing.
- 34:19SPEAKER_03: They also stand around 9 to 15 feet tall and weigh 5,500 pounds, roughly.
- 34:24SPEAKER_03: Jesus Christ.
- 34:25SPEAKER_01: You know, though, I mean, to be fair, when the kind of the guy who's kind of running everything is Demogorgon, I guess this is like Oh, yeah, this is just running the mill shit.
- 34:37SPEAKER_01: Yeah, that's like, yeah, that's right.
- 34:39SPEAKER_01: The the demon lord has two baboon heads, so I can accept this.
- 34:43SPEAKER_03: So uh despite their physical prowess, they preferred to work behind the scenes.
- 34:48SPEAKER_03: Um, they took pleasure in tempt acts of temptation, uh luring all they meet with lies, deception, and offers of power before ruining their victims' lives.
- 34:58SPEAKER_03: Wow.
- 34:59SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 35:00SPEAKER_03: Demons are fun.
- 35:02SPEAKER_02: With a physique like that, you would think they'd be like out on the front lines, like just murdering.
- 35:08SPEAKER_03: Yeah, like with like the Balors.
- 35:10SPEAKER_02: Yeah, but no.
- 35:12SPEAKER_03: So the next is the Garestro, uh, which I mentioned earlier.
- 35:16SPEAKER_03: They are this uh incredibly powerful demon that resembled sort of a fiendish minotaur.
- 35:23SPEAKER_03: Uh their immeasurable physical power is matched only by the baylores, uh, but they have none of the intel intellect to match it.
- 35:32SPEAKER_02: So they dumb.
- 35:33SPEAKER_03: Yeah, they dumb.
- 35:34SPEAKER_03: Um they stood at 20 feet tall and weighed 14,000 pounds.
- 35:39SPEAKER_03: Imagine that that thing running at you.
- 35:42SPEAKER_03: Actually, no, imagine that thing stepping on you.
- 35:44SPEAKER_03: Uh like you are Oh no.
- 35:47SPEAKER_02: You're an ant.
- 35:48SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 35:49SPEAKER_03: Um their overall structure was kind of bear-like because they were like wide in the trunk.
- 35:56SPEAKER_03: But when and because of this, they kind of moved on their knuckles like giant gorillas, so they're just like a mishmash.
- 36:03SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 36:04SPEAKER_01: I mean, go get kind of going with the theme.
- 36:07SPEAKER_01: I feel like a lot of demons are a giant mishmash.
- 36:10SPEAKER_01: Yeah, for sure.
- 36:11SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 36:12SPEAKER_01: I mean, I like it though.
- 36:13SPEAKER_03: It is said that they can grow indefinitely, and apparently a Gorstro was reported to be 200 feet tall.
- 36:24SPEAKER_02: Where does that thing even like live?
- 36:27SPEAKER_03: The abyss.
- 36:28SPEAKER_02: Yeah, but where though?
- 36:31SPEAKER_03: They're mostly operate as siege weapons.
- 36:35SPEAKER_01: Yeah, fair.
- 36:36SPEAKER_01: I mean, there's like at least 666 layers in the abyss.
- 36:39SPEAKER_01: So I'm sure there's somewhere that has like a really tall layer.
- 36:43SPEAKER_01: Yeah, a really tall layer with like big enough cows or whatever.
- 36:46SPEAKER_01: That is a giant siege engine.
- 36:49SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 36:49SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 36:50SPEAKER_03: So the next one we have is the Hezru, which, dependent on the addition, kind of look like frogs to me.
- 36:58SPEAKER_03: Uh, they have this.
- 37:00SPEAKER_03: I mean, it's described as being superficial resemblance to toads in humanoid form, but honestly, they look like they just straight up look like toads or frogs.
- 37:08SPEAKER_02: Yeah, they just look like angry frogs.
- 37:10SPEAKER_02: Yeah, yeah.
- 37:11SPEAKER_02: They like I would go with toads.
- 37:13SPEAKER_02: They definitely just look like giant angry toads.
- 37:16SPEAKER_03: Um, so they're about eight feet tall and weigh about 750 tons, and they're just covered in these little spiky things.
- 37:23SPEAKER_03: They had rows of sharp teeth that uh like it they have a massive mouth, so they have tons of sharp teeth.
- 37:33SPEAKER_03: It's legitimately like a like a toad with teeth.
- 37:38SPEAKER_01: And it looks like the it looks like shark mouth.
- 37:41SPEAKER_03: Yeah, it does look like a shark mouth.
- 37:42SPEAKER_01: Actually, just on a frog.
- 37:45SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 37:46SPEAKER_03: Frog toad.
- 37:47SPEAKER_03: A frog toad.
- 37:48SPEAKER_03: Um so they were obedient and simple, but they were very powerful.
- 37:53SPEAKER_03: Um, they gladly served under more powerful demons, um, and even summoners who supported their behavior, uh, which is to say they like to fight and they like to be chaotic.
- 38:05SPEAKER_03: Cool.
- 38:06SPEAKER_03: Um touching a theme.
- 38:08SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 38:09SPEAKER_03: Uh they're still demons and they enjoy beating up even loyal subordinates just for fun.
- 38:16SPEAKER_03: So like a bonding.
- 38:18SPEAKER_03: They can't really see the big picture.
- 38:20SPEAKER_01: No.
- 38:21SPEAKER_02: That's just bonding time.
- 38:23SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I mean, when you're a demon.
- 38:26SPEAKER_03: So next is an Imolith, which is a little bit different from a lot of the others because it was created in fourth edition.
- 38:34SPEAKER_03: Um they are undead demonic creatures that are sometimes created when the spirits of deceased demons fall back to the abyss.
- 38:44SPEAKER_03: They are uh they greatly despise living creatures and are often found with liches and vampires, though also with demons.
- 38:54SPEAKER_03: They're immune to fire because they pretty much just look like a demon skeleton that's on fire.
- 39:01SPEAKER_02: They yeah, they are straight up just fire.
- 39:04SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 39:05SPEAKER_02: Which I guess given the name Emolith.
- 39:08SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 39:08SPEAKER_02: I mean, they look kind of cool.
- 39:10SPEAKER_03: They they they they they do.
- 39:12SPEAKER_01: I'm just bracing myself to be disappointed.
- 39:15SPEAKER_02: You said that they were made from deceased demons.
- 39:18SPEAKER_03: Basically, when a um when a demon is killed outside of their uh outside of the abyss, they have a chance to either go back to the abyss and uh like reform their body there.
- 39:34SPEAKER_03: Uh well, I say they have a choice.
- 39:37SPEAKER_03: The universe has a choice, basically.
- 39:39SPEAKER_04: Right.
- 39:40SPEAKER_03: Um die, be reincarnated as a lesser demon, or as a fourth edition, something goes horribly wrong and they become an amoleth.
- 39:49SPEAKER_01: Hmm.
- 39:50SPEAKER_01: I mean, I'm with it, but it just kind of feels like I'm with it, but it just kind of feels like there were already, which I know that fourth edition pared down a lot of the pre-existing types of demons.
- 40:04SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 40:05SPEAKER_02: But I still feel like that that's like an unnecessary addition, really.
- 40:08SPEAKER_01: Yeah, like it it it seems like it's something that like I said, I'm with it.
- 40:13SPEAKER_01: And even though fourth uh fourth edition pared it down a lot, there's still a lot of other kinds of demons that it's like, eh.
- 40:20SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 40:20SPEAKER_01: Anyway, they look cool though.
- 40:22SPEAKER_03: They they do.
- 40:23SPEAKER_03: Um, so next is the Castiger, and uh they are these wicked, sadistic, um prisoner ward prison wardens, basically, and kind of hunters.
- 40:35SPEAKER_03: Um they're huge, about 15 feet tall, and could weigh up to 10,000 pounds.
- 40:41SPEAKER_03: Um they're um roughly humanoid with like these hordes that just jut straight out and rippling muscle, you know, that sort of thing, cloven hoofs, thick ass arms, thick ass legs.
- 40:57SPEAKER_03: Thick ass.
- 40:58SPEAKER_03: Probably have a thick ass too.
- 41:00SPEAKER_03: Um they wore armor, but not really.
- 41:05SPEAKER_03: It was like metal that they just fashioned directly to its body.
- 41:10SPEAKER_02: Damn.
- 41:11SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 41:12SPEAKER_02: And uh I I cannot figure out how to spell this.
- 41:16SPEAKER_03: K-A-S-T-I-G-H-U-R.
- 41:20SPEAKER_03: K-A-S-T-R-T-I-G-H-U-R.
- 41:24SPEAKER_02: Okay, not even close to what I was thinking.
- 41:27SPEAKER_02: You're fine.
- 41:28SPEAKER_02: So Fucking weird is what they are.
- 41:31SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 41:33SPEAKER_02: I I I got I I got no other words.
- 41:37SPEAKER_03: They were um, I mean, they were the torturers uh and the slavers of demon kind.
- 41:43SPEAKER_03: Um they were actually able to eventually torture advanced creatures such as more po more powerful outsiders and even dragons.
- 41:54SPEAKER_03: Oh okay.
- 41:56SPEAKER_01: So, yeah, because the thing with their armor reminded me of the um uh oh, it was one of the planar dragons.
- 42:05SPEAKER_01: It was when white dragons end up in the abyss.
- 42:08SPEAKER_03: Oh, yeah.
- 42:08SPEAKER_01: Yeah, that's what that reminded me of.
- 42:10SPEAKER_01: So I would imagine that these guys had probably a hand in that.
- 42:14SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 42:16SPEAKER_03: So the next is the clerk clericure, um, or clericure, uh, which are go on, sorry.
- 42:24SPEAKER_01: No, you're good.
- 42:24SPEAKER_01: I just uh I saw an image.
- 42:26SPEAKER_03: Yep.
- 42:27SPEAKER_03: Um, so they are one of the most powerful and respected demons.
- 42:31SPEAKER_03: Uh they are known to be so horrifying that even baylors give them a wide wide birth.
- 42:36SPEAKER_03: This is because they stand at over 30 feet tall, have an immense wingspan of 60 feet, uh, their skin is black or gray, and is coarse and rough.
- 42:48SPEAKER_03: Rather than hair, they have a mane of spines coating their body that runs down their fa from their face to their shoulders.
- 42:55SPEAKER_03: They have four powerful arms seemingly twitching with bloodlust, uh, contrasted by their short but thick legs.
- 43:02SPEAKER_03: Uh their heads seemingly combine the features of a vicious orc and mule with a set of pitch black eyes, but the most horrifying feature of all were the slobbering mouth was the slobbering mouth that's located on their abdomen, containing a drooling tongue, rows of blunt teeth, and a pair of smacking lips.
- 43:24SPEAKER_02: Jesus.
- 43:25SPEAKER_02: This thing is just all sorts of horrifying and fucked up.
- 43:29SPEAKER_01: Okay, so the word, I know that that was probably the word that was used, but those teeth don't look blunt.
- 43:34SPEAKER_01: They look very sharp.
- 43:35SPEAKER_03: Yeah, that was pro the third edition description.
- 43:38SPEAKER_03: Oh, gotcha, fourth.
- 43:39SPEAKER_01: Maybe, yeah, versus the art.
- 43:42SPEAKER_01: Jesus Christ.
- 43:45SPEAKER_01: I just I I clicked it and I saw the mouth, and I was like, oh.
- 43:51SPEAKER_01: Yeah, that's what we're doing.
- 43:53SPEAKER_03: Is a lot more blunt.
- 43:54SPEAKER_03: Uh as a fourth edition, they are very, very sharp.
- 43:58SPEAKER_01: I mean, not that them have.
- 44:00SPEAKER_01: Having like blunt like molars is any really better.
- 44:03SPEAKER_03: No.
- 44:03SPEAKER_03: I don't want that to bite me.
- 44:05SPEAKER_03: Uh they were incredibly powerful and very well aware of it, um, highly self-assured of their own abilities.
- 44:12SPEAKER_03: They they had this complete sense of security that ord that allowed them to order around almost any other demon.
- 44:19SPEAKER_03: Oh.
- 44:20SPEAKER_03: Attacking any that did not do as they commanded.
- 44:22SPEAKER_01: I mean, they're 30 feet tall.
- 44:24SPEAKER_01: Does the other mouth just go is it just like right there next to their stomach?
- 44:28SPEAKER_01: What's happening in there?
- 44:31SPEAKER_02: That's how they really eat.
- 44:33SPEAKER_01: Is it?
- 44:34SPEAKER_01: I don't I know they probably don't need to eat, but I just want to know what's going on in there.
- 44:38SPEAKER_01: Also, they're 30 feet tall!
- 44:41SPEAKER_03: No.
- 44:43SPEAKER_03: So it it's mostly as a means of very quickly decimating their enemies.
- 44:49SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 44:50SPEAKER_01: I mean, it doesn't even matter how sharp their teeth are, because they're 30 feet tall.
- 44:53SPEAKER_01: That's big enough to just swallow most things whole.
- 44:56SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 44:56SPEAKER_02: Like the mouth itself is probably like fucking 10 feet.
- 44:59SPEAKER_03: But you have to remember, these are demons, they enjoy torture.
- 45:02SPEAKER_03: I mean fair.
- 45:04SPEAKER_02: So like it'll just bite your leg off with it's gigantic.
- 45:08SPEAKER_02: Gigantic stomach mouth.
- 45:10SPEAKER_03: So um moving on.
- 45:12SPEAKER_03: We're at 44 minutes, and I'm not halfway done yet.
- 45:15SPEAKER_02: Oh jeez.
- 45:16SPEAKER_03: Um, so moving on, uh, we have manes, um, which are M-A-N-E, and they're the quintessential blob.
- 45:25SPEAKER_03: Blob.
- 45:26SPEAKER_03: Um, they are a demon that's formed when they're the basic demon that's formed when a chaotic evil soul died and is sent to the abyss.
- 45:34SPEAKER_03: They're kind of considered fodder by everyone else.
- 45:38SPEAKER_03: Uh they are approximately three feet tall, humanoid, weighing only 15 pounds.
- 45:44SPEAKER_03: Their bodies are pale, bloated, nearly hairless, and crawling with maggots that actually feed on them.
- 45:51SPEAKER_03: Uh, their eyes are constantly dripping with disgusting liquids, and they show no signs of sentience.
- 45:57SPEAKER_03: Uh their jagged teeth and cruel claw claws are complimenting of their very feral minds.
- 46:05SPEAKER_03: That's lovely.
- 46:06SPEAKER_03: Um, so the they would make decent rank and file soldiers, except for their pure hatefulness drove them to attack any non-denomic enemies they encountered, and they're also incredibly stupid and difficult to control.
- 46:24SPEAKER_03: Oh no.
- 46:25SPEAKER_03: When you're oh no.
- 46:28SPEAKER_03: They had no sense of self-preservation and would continue to attack in a way detrimental to their own survival.
- 46:34SPEAKER_03: Uh most mains lost their memories in a traumatic process that grants them their forms.
- 46:40SPEAKER_03: Um man, that sucks.
- 46:43SPEAKER_03: And they can the the they're not actually stuck as manes forever.
- 46:49SPEAKER_03: Um, in fact, this is kind of like the larva of the demons.
- 46:55SPEAKER_03: Um, like they don't have quite the same, like you turn into this and then that and then that, like the devils do, but you do have the ability to change out of being a mane.
- 47:06SPEAKER_03: Okay, good.
- 47:07SPEAKER_02: I wonder if they remember what they were like when they changed.
- 47:11SPEAKER_01: Oh gosh.
- 47:12SPEAKER_01: Oh, they do.
- 47:14SPEAKER_01: Oh, great.
- 47:14SPEAKER_01: Because I would just change into something else, and I would be like, oh, yeah.
- 47:18SPEAKER_01: Oh, that was me.
- 47:19SPEAKER_01: That was me, oh no.
- 47:21SPEAKER_01: But now I have a s a mouth on my tummy, so it's okay.
- 47:25SPEAKER_03: I mean, you wouldn't probably go straight there, but part of the reason why they're so insane is because of the fact that they lost their memories when they became mains.
- 47:34SPEAKER_03: So they're just uh well, they're just left with this frag fragmented memories and um this like overwhelming loss of something that they can't understand because they're too stupid.
- 47:49SPEAKER_01: Same.
- 47:50SPEAKER_01: That sucks.
- 47:52SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 47:52SPEAKER_01: Man, that that actually like it's funny to laugh at like, you know, very like typically very stupid DD like monsters or whatever, but like that sucks.
- 48:03SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 48:04SPEAKER_01: Anyway.
- 48:04SPEAKER_03: Um so the next is the Merilith, and they're you're they're a very powerful Tanari.
- 48:12SPEAKER_03: They are tacticians and advisors to demonic nobility and um kind of sexy.
- 48:20SPEAKER_03: They also act as serpentine demon queens.
- 48:23SPEAKER_03: So from the waist up, they are attractive humanoid women uh with six arms, very uh oh, what's her name?
- 48:30SPEAKER_03: The um Indian uh the Hindu goddess.
- 48:33SPEAKER_03: Oh, I think it's uh Kali.
- 48:34SPEAKER_03: Kali, yes.
- 48:35SPEAKER_03: Kali, I think.
- 48:36SPEAKER_03: Um but their lower half is this giant green snake, kind of like the Yanti.
- 48:42SPEAKER_01: Yeah, and like um like Nagas.
- 48:45SPEAKER_01: Yes, Lamiyas, I think.
- 48:46SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 48:47SPEAKER_03: Um, so they typically carried in each hand highly decorated weapons and adorned themselves with bangles and jewelry.
- 48:56SPEAKER_03: They were about twenty feet long and uh and weighed two tons, and then when they stood normally, they were about seven and nine feet tall.
- 49:05SPEAKER_01: So like their like resting posture was seven and nine feet tall.
- 49:09SPEAKER_01: But if you like if stretched them up from tail to tip, head to tail to 20 feet.
- 49:14SPEAKER_01: Also, that's pretty so I'm I mean, I'm not saying anything, but it's a it's pretty thick, thick girl.
- 49:22SPEAKER_01: I'm into it, but I was not expecting that just from the that there's a there's a lot of uh essentially a 20-foot snake.
- 49:30SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 49:31SPEAKER_03: So they're like I said, highly intelligent creatures.
- 49:34SPEAKER_03: Um they were disciplinary masters, and in the eyes of most merits, uh subtle temptation was but a silly game compared to true warfare planning.
- 49:44SPEAKER_03: Nice.
- 49:45SPEAKER_03: They are bloodthirsty.
- 49:48SPEAKER_03: Uh they eagerly join melee given the chance and serve as commanders through throughout all of the blood war.
- 49:56SPEAKER_03: Um, I mean, that's it for for them, pretty much.
- 49:59SPEAKER_01: I will say I kind of enjoy that a lot actually, because I feel like that is a little bit of a subversion of the typical like feminine feminine female demon that you see where it's like, you know, they're all about the lust and the the trickery.
- 50:16SPEAKER_01: Yeah, the poisoning, which I'm not saying isn't cool sometimes, but it's nice to see the other side of it too.
- 50:22SPEAKER_01: Yeah, we're just a totally unhinged, well, I say unhinged, but like, you know, bloodthirsty, you know, tactician, yeah, but still very feminine demon.
- 50:32SPEAKER_01: I think that's cool.
- 50:33SPEAKER_01: It's very, it's kind of subversive.
- 50:34SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 50:35SPEAKER_03: So the uh next is the Marzi, um, who are they're basically ghouls.
- 50:43SPEAKER_03: Um they're emaciated and pale and leathery.
- 50:47SPEAKER_03: They have this hunched posture, elongated claw nails, and they they kind of look like ghoulish elves.
- 50:56SPEAKER_03: Yeah, they nasty.
- 50:57SPEAKER_02: They look like Falmer.
- 50:59SPEAKER_02: They do look like Falmer.
- 51:00SPEAKER_02: You're right.
- 51:01SPEAKER_03: Um, their primary goal is to kill and consume mortals of great physical prowess and intellect.
- 51:07SPEAKER_03: Uh yeah.
- 51:08SPEAKER_03: I mean, that's pretty much it.
- 51:10SPEAKER_03: I mean, yeah, that's that's pretty uh the next is the Molly Deus, uh, the Molly Deus, uh, which are powerful two-headed Tanari that uh What?
- 51:22SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 51:23SPEAKER_01: They look awesome!
- 51:24SPEAKER_03: What the heck?
- 51:26SPEAKER_03: So uh their main head resembled a uh like a wolf or a hyena, while a slithering serpent protrudes out of their neck.
- 51:37SPEAKER_01: That's so cool.
- 51:38SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 51:39SPEAKER_03: I wish I had a serpent, but they're about 12 feet tall and weigh about 1500, 1,500 pounds.
- 51:45SPEAKER_01: Jesus Christ.
- 51:46SPEAKER_03: Um they had no room for treachery and served their lords faithfully, though um, you know, that they're not very they're very powerful, but they're not very high up when you like keep in mind the massive hierarchy and their total willingness to serve under others.
- 52:05SPEAKER_01: Yeah, that's very interesting in comparison to a lot of other demons.
- 52:09SPEAKER_01: Um I mean I respect it though.
- 52:11SPEAKER_01: I respect it.
- 52:12SPEAKER_03: Um The Myrmixicus uh were powerful, tonnery aquatic demons.
- 52:20SPEAKER_03: Uh they were much slower on land, though they could oddly fly and use natural magic.
- 52:30SPEAKER_03: Um I mean, sure.
- 52:32SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 52:34SPEAKER_02: I don't see anything about them that looks like they should be able to fly.
- 52:38SPEAKER_03: Uh using magic, I guess I believe.
- 52:40SPEAKER_03: Sure.
- 52:41SPEAKER_03: Um they're arrogant demons who refuse to serve others and instead rule portions of the abyssal seas, and that's pretty much it.
- 52:52SPEAKER_03: Um the next is the Nibasu, which are also called Death Stealers.
- 52:56SPEAKER_03: Uh Hell yes.
- 52:58SPEAKER_03: They are aggressive Tanari demons that have a strong connection to undeath and were eternally hungry for souls.
- 53:06SPEAKER_03: They were unique among fiends in that they had to live on the material plane for part of their lives.
- 53:14SPEAKER_02: And they look like bats and gargoyles.
- 53:18SPEAKER_03: Yeah, they look like gargoyle bats.
- 53:19SPEAKER_03: Uh they're very skinny and lithe and um You got bat wings.
- 53:25SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 53:25SPEAKER_03: Uh they stand actually about seven feet tall.
- 53:28SPEAKER_03: Uh I know they don't look like it from their art, um, and weigh about 140 pounds.
- 53:33SPEAKER_02: That is a very light.
- 53:35SPEAKER_03: Very emaciated, yes.
- 53:37SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 53:38SPEAKER_03: Um, they uh they can change their coloration to better blend in with their surroundings.
- 53:43SPEAKER_03: Yeah, they gotta be light so they can fly.
- 53:46SPEAKER_03: Uh they enjoyed treasure hunting a lot.
- 53:49SPEAKER_03: Ooh.
- 53:50SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 53:51SPEAKER_03: Nice.
- 53:52SPEAKER_03: Next is the Nalfeshni.
- 53:55SPEAKER_03: Um, they were uh this boarish uh demon demonic entity that stands about 10 feet tall.
- 54:04SPEAKER_03: They have I mean, they look like a boar ate by pedal monstrosity that they're they're flying pigs, okay?
- 54:13SPEAKER_03: Oh they have wings.
- 54:15SPEAKER_02: Can they actually fly?
- 54:16SPEAKER_02: Please tell me.
- 54:18SPEAKER_03: Because those wings, despite the flimsy appearance, they can fly.
- 54:23SPEAKER_03: Okay.
- 54:25SPEAKER_03: They have these very, very tiny feathered wings.
- 54:30SPEAKER_03: I just imagine Which like completely undersized.
- 54:34SPEAKER_03: They have to use magic to fly.
- 54:36SPEAKER_01: No, I'm pretty sure.
- 54:37SPEAKER_01: I just imagine that it's like in in cartoons, you know?
- 54:40SPEAKER_03: Yes, it I mean, it would have to look like that.
- 54:42SPEAKER_01: Yeah, so it's just like they're kind of like drooping and their wings are just like flapping super hard.
- 54:49SPEAKER_03: But I mean, because they're incredibly rotund beasts.
- 54:52SPEAKER_02: Yeah, they they they think they have that boarish like look.
- 54:56SPEAKER_02: They've got what is that, three sets of fucking tusks, but one of them is jutting out from under their eyes.
- 55:03SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 55:03SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 55:04SPEAKER_02: Sorry, one set, not one single tusk.
- 55:06SPEAKER_02: That would be weird.
- 55:07SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 55:08SPEAKER_03: Oh, yeah, that would be weird.
- 55:09SPEAKER_01: At least their tusks are like symmetrical on their face.
- 55:12SPEAKER_03: Um by the way, among a Nalfeshne's preferred foods were halflings and terrified beings.
- 55:19SPEAKER_03: Aww.
- 55:20SPEAKER_01: Oh the the fear makes it taste better.
- 55:23SPEAKER_01: Obligatory it reference.
- 55:25SPEAKER_01: I haven't seen that far.
- 55:26SPEAKER_03: The second group uh included powerful humanoids, certain demons, gnomes, immortals, insects, including arachnids, and elemental creatures.
- 55:36SPEAKER_02: That's a I was really hoping that gnomes wouldn't make that.
- 55:40SPEAKER_03: That's a very I'm not gonna lie.
- 55:42SPEAKER_03: The only reason I went into the second part was because of the gnomes.
- 55:45SPEAKER_01: That's a very also like varied you know I think they just like to eat.
- 55:53SPEAKER_03: They are um thick.
- 55:55SPEAKER_03: Thick.
- 55:56SPEAKER_03: Well, specifically, so they're known as for their roles as judges in the abyss.
- 56:01SPEAKER_03: Uh they process damned souls from the mountain of woe and uh and then appropriate them a task.
- 56:09SPEAKER_04: Whoa.
- 56:10SPEAKER_03: From atop their flaming throne, they were the ones responsible for turning new newly deceased of the abyss into mains and other lesser demons, depending on whether food, slaves, or slave food was most needed.
- 56:22SPEAKER_03: Um Jesus.
- 56:25SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 56:26SPEAKER_03: Hmm.
- 56:27SPEAKER_02: So they don't really fight?
- 56:29SPEAKER_03: No, they're not really fighters.
- 56:30SPEAKER_02: They're more I mean they're creators, kind of.
- 56:34SPEAKER_02: Like they just sit on their fiery throne, apparently, and create things.
- 56:40SPEAKER_03: Despite their love of food, they do possess a reasonable amount of self-control.
- 56:44SPEAKER_03: Um, they often obtain food from the prime material plane and actually stored it within their pantries instead of eating it immediately.
- 56:51SPEAKER_03: The fact that the fucking monster manual felt the need to describe that is hilarious.
- 56:58SPEAKER_01: Okay, but also, I'm just imagining what a demon's pantry looks like.
- 57:02SPEAKER_01: Also, I think that's very interesting.
- 57:05SPEAKER_01: Because for a lot of these, I was getting a very specific vibe off them that was maybe related to like a seven deadly sin or like a horseman of the apocalypse, and I was like, okay, these are the gluttony.
- 57:16SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 57:16SPEAKER_01: But not necessarily.
- 57:18SPEAKER_01: No.
- 57:18SPEAKER_01: Yeah, they don't just eat everything.
- 57:20SPEAKER_03: And that that's the thing, is I will say a lot of the demons kind of subvert the stereotype.
- 57:24SPEAKER_01: Exactly.
- 57:26SPEAKER_03: So from there we have the Palathy, which are arrogant demons covered in fire.
- 57:32SPEAKER_03: Love it.
- 57:33SPEAKER_01: Beautiful.
- 57:33SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 57:34SPEAKER_03: Um, they're tall, emaciated humanoids with blood, red or blue skin.
- 57:39SPEAKER_03: They had these bony vestigial wings, and um, they could easily be distinguished by being entirely covered in flame.
- 57:46SPEAKER_03: The fire did not harm them, and they could change the color and appearance of the flames at will.
- 57:51SPEAKER_01: Um I wanna be that.
- 57:53SPEAKER_03: You wanna be that?
- 57:54SPEAKER_01: Yeah, that's I'm I'm with it.
- 57:56SPEAKER_03: They were used by Baylors as sergeants or messengers, and um more powerful demons took great delight in reinforcing reinforcing their positions with them.
- 58:07SPEAKER_03: Just because of Yeah.
- 58:11SPEAKER_03: Um I mean they actually disdained fighting in melee, I will say.
- 58:16SPEAKER_03: Um but they were known to be extremely malicious and sadistic.
- 58:21SPEAKER_02: They were desperate, yeah.
- 58:23SPEAKER_03: They were desperate to acquire souls, magical knowledge, and power, or any other form of currency that can be used to gain power.
- 58:30SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 58:31SPEAKER_02: Just flaming demons.
- 58:35SPEAKER_03: A flame.
- 58:36SPEAKER_02: A flame.
- 58:37SPEAKER_02: So they can change their own color of the fire.
- 58:41SPEAKER_02: Wow, that was a fucked up sentence.
- 58:43SPEAKER_02: Anyway.
- 58:44SPEAKER_03: You're good.
- 58:44SPEAKER_03: So next up we have the rhetoricin.
- 58:46SPEAKER_03: Uh so rhetoricans were demons that are very low on the pecking order.
- 58:51SPEAKER_03: Um, they're these grotesque disfigured demons with backwards pointing ears.
- 58:56SPEAKER_03: They have this little arm thingy that struts out, juts out and has another mouth on it.
- 59:02SPEAKER_03: Uh oh.
- 59:04SPEAKER_03: They're misshapen and like Yeah.
- 59:09SPEAKER_03: Um it's pretty in its own way.
- 59:16SPEAKER_03: They were carriers of the warping plague and infected victims with a bite.
- 59:22SPEAKER_03: Uh, the bitten experienced debilitating symptoms such as pain and tremors while their bodies were warped and disfigured by the abyss' taint.
- 59:29SPEAKER_03: The victim's flesh was twisted and shifted around the bones, transforming them into abyssal wretches.
- 59:34SPEAKER_02: That's one hell of a process.
- 59:36SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 59:37SPEAKER_02: Jesus.
- 59:38SPEAKER_01: Um I don't I don't want any kind of taint to do with this thing.
- 59:45SPEAKER_02: Right.
- 59:45SPEAKER_02: Can I just say the usage of the uh the word taint there?
- 59:51SPEAKER_02: I don't know.
- 59:52SPEAKER_03: Just can I'd send taint.
- 59:55SPEAKER_01: Jokes.
- 59:56SPEAKER_03: So um God, that's so gross.
- 1:00:00SPEAKER_03: Next up we have the sorrow sworn.
- 1:00:02SPEAKER_03: Um their hand mouth.
- 1:00:04SPEAKER_03: I hate their hand mouth.
- 1:00:05SPEAKER_03: I'm sorry.
- 1:00:06SPEAKER_03: Uh next up is the sorrow sworn.
- 1:00:08SPEAKER_03: It's a creature that preys on feelings of grief and loss.
- 1:00:12SPEAKER_03: That sucks.
- 1:00:13SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 1:00:14SPEAKER_03: Um, so I'm bringing them up, but I will say as of um as of fourth edition, they have been reclassified uh that to be shadow creatures from the Shadowfell.
- 1:00:28SPEAKER_03: Okay.
- 1:00:28SPEAKER_03: So they're kind of undead demons that uh are fragments of death incarnate.
- 1:00:35SPEAKER_03: Um they're these gaunt humanoids that are 12 to 15 feet tall and weigh about 500 pounds.
- 1:00:40SPEAKER_02: Okay, I definitely did not see them being that tall.
- 1:00:42SPEAKER_01: Yeah, because they're very gaunt.
- 1:00:44SPEAKER_01: And they're and their image makes their art makes them look small.
- 1:00:48SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 1:00:48SPEAKER_03: Um, they have hooked claws for hands, and they're kind of they kind of are meant to evoke like a really upsetting looking reaper.
- 1:00:58SPEAKER_03: Uh they kind of do.
- 1:01:00SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 1:01:01SPEAKER_03: Um I'm upset.
- 1:01:03SPEAKER_03: So at a whim, the Sarsworn demon exuded an aura that provoked creatures within 30 feet to suffer intense feelings of despair and personal loss, constantly imagining the worst bereavements and failures they'd ever known, or could dread to know.
- 1:01:17SPEAKER_03: Those of Iron Will could shrug off such thoughts.
- 1:01:19SPEAKER_03: The rest were overwhelmed and distracted and weakened by them.
- 1:01:22SPEAKER_01: Okay, that's a normal Tuesday for me.
- 1:01:24SPEAKER_01: What's special about them?
- 1:01:27SPEAKER_03: Uh a victim could become days and they thought if they thought on these losses.
- 1:01:32SPEAKER_03: If it spoke of great the great emptiness of genocide of history, of genocide, massacre, tragedy, and pointless sacrifice, a victim might become dangerously confused.
- 1:01:43SPEAKER_03: If it promised future sorrow or taunted its victim with the futility of fighting against the inevitable, they would become stunned with fear.
- 1:01:51SPEAKER_03: They could convince people to take their own life.
- 1:01:54SPEAKER_03: Dang.
- 1:01:55SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 1:01:56SPEAKER_01: I was gonna make a joke up until that last sentence.
- 1:01:58SPEAKER_01: That sucks.
- 1:02:00SPEAKER_01: Okay then.
- 1:02:01SPEAKER_03: Um they preferred to prey on his victims from hiding.
- 1:02:04SPEAKER_01: Yeah, that that make that makes sense.
- 1:02:07SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 1:02:07SPEAKER_01: You know, I can I can ride with these guys being demons.
- 1:02:10SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 1:02:11SPEAKER_01: That's a pretty chaotic evil thing to do.
- 1:02:13SPEAKER_03: Um when they did get switched to um Shadowfell creatures.
- 1:02:19SPEAKER_03: Yeah, they are servant, they became servants of the Raven Queen.
- 1:02:22SPEAKER_02: Really?
- 1:02:23SPEAKER_01: Why do you have people like that in your employ, Miss Raven Queen?
- 1:02:26SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 1:02:27SPEAKER_02: That doesn't even make sense.
- 1:02:30SPEAKER_01: That's I um I I don't like that.
- 1:02:33SPEAKER_03: Basically, they are it's kind of like I didn't go too far into it because this is about demons, but basically it would be they were the twisted remains of Shotarchai.
- 1:02:45SPEAKER_02: Okay, alright.
- 1:02:46SPEAKER_02: Uh yeah, alright.
- 1:02:47SPEAKER_02: Um I we don't have time for me to go down that rabbit hole.
- 1:02:50SPEAKER_03: Whatever.
- 1:02:51SPEAKER_03: So next are the succubi.
- 1:02:53SPEAKER_03: Even though they got switched around, I I mean, uh obviously I went over the last thing, even though it got switched around, but even though it got switched around, I'm gonna talk about the succubus.
- 1:03:01SPEAKER_03: I mean, we all know what a succubus is.
- 1:03:03SPEAKER_03: It's a beautiful lesser breed of Tanari.
- 1:03:06SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 1:03:07SPEAKER_03: It's a beautiful demon.
- 1:03:08SPEAKER_03: Um that um sexy.
- 1:03:11SPEAKER_03: A succubus appears as a stunningly beautiful woman of statuesque build and perfect figure, with flawless skin and red or raven black hair, but also clawed fingers and a large dark-hued or reddish bat-like wings mounted on their backs.
- 1:03:26SPEAKER_03: Their eyes were set to smolder with sinister desire.
- 1:03:29SPEAKER_03: Uh small horns or a tail might also be seen.
- 1:03:32SPEAKER_03: Uh succubi on average are about six feet tall and weighed about 125 pounds.
- 1:03:38SPEAKER_03: And they're beautiful.
- 1:03:39SPEAKER_03: And incubi are pretty much their opposite.
- 1:03:42SPEAKER_03: I mean, I not really their opposite.
- 1:03:45SPEAKER_03: They're just the male version.
- 1:03:46SPEAKER_02: Right.
- 1:03:46SPEAKER_02: They're just beautiful men.
- 1:03:49SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 1:03:50SPEAKER_03: Seccubi have a shape-changing ability and assume any humanoid form that they want to.
- 1:03:57SPEAKER_03: And mortals rarely saw Psycubi and Incubi in their true forms.
- 1:04:01SPEAKER_01: It's interesting that they were still like sexy though.
- 1:04:04SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 1:04:04SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 1:04:05SPEAKER_01: Because I find the idea of them secretly being like kind of gross or maybe just completely formless, like a like a ditto or something.
- 1:04:14SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 1:04:15SPEAKER_01: And then just transforming into whatever that person's personal fantasy is, is compelling.
- 1:04:20SPEAKER_01: But they're sexy, whatever.
- 1:04:22SPEAKER_03: Um, so they're described as interestingly enough, lovers, not fighters.
- 1:04:28SPEAKER_03: Uh Secubi fled all conflict if they could.
- 1:04:32SPEAKER_03: Um, they preferred subterfuge and seduction, uh, turning their enemies against one another and making them into loyal servants.
- 1:04:39SPEAKER_03: Uh they were very lusty creatures.
- 1:04:42SPEAKER_03: Um, they could use a life-draining kiss.
- 1:04:46SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 1:04:46SPEAKER_03: Um, a preferred tactic was to disguise themselves and feign friendship or pretend to be a damsel in distress.
- 1:04:52SPEAKER_03: A Phoenix succubus desired a corrupted soul like nothing else and feeling utterly empty until they claimed one.
- 1:05:01SPEAKER_01: Cool.
- 1:05:02SPEAKER_01: So they enjoy corrupting people.
- 1:05:03SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 1:05:04SPEAKER_01: That's that's I mean, yeah.
- 1:05:06SPEAKER_03: So next up is the Iri um Iridezu.
- 1:05:13SPEAKER_03: Sure.
- 1:05:14SPEAKER_02: And the like the name I actually recognized when you went through the list earlier and had to look them up just to make sure.
- 1:05:22SPEAKER_02: But yeah, they're Rat beans.
- 1:05:24SPEAKER_02: Yeah, they're because I came across them researching something, and I was like, that's just a fucking rat.
- 1:05:29SPEAKER_03: Yep.
- 1:05:30SPEAKER_03: Uh they are, I mean, they're six foot-tall rat beans.
- 1:05:33SPEAKER_03: I mean, what else do you want me to describe them as?
- 1:05:36SPEAKER_03: They have very low intelligence, um but uh and they were also kind of gutless.
- 1:05:44SPEAKER_03: Oh they they regularly took abuse in the abyss, so they preferred to be on the material plane.
- 1:05:53SPEAKER_03: I'm sad.
- 1:05:54SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 1:05:55SPEAKER_03: Uh I'm sad for that.
- 1:05:56SPEAKER_03: But I mean they serve under various uh Demon Lords.
- 1:06:01SPEAKER_03: And finally, we have the rocks.
- 1:06:05SPEAKER_03: They are known by all abyssal denizens as untrustworthy and flighty creatures ruled by greed.
- 1:06:12SPEAKER_02: I mean, they're definitely flighty creatures.
- 1:06:14SPEAKER_02: Look at that thing.
- 1:06:14SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 1:06:15SPEAKER_03: They're eight feet tall, weigh 500 pounds, and appear between a cross and a cross between a vulture and a human.
- 1:06:24SPEAKER_01: Also, if if other well, I guess they're kind of all in conflict with each other pretty consistently.
- 1:06:31SPEAKER_01: But if if if you're considered to be untrustworthy in the company of other demons, that's when you know it's bad.
- 1:06:38SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 1:06:38SPEAKER_02: Like all other demons.
- 1:06:40SPEAKER_02: They are untrustworthy.
- 1:06:42SPEAKER_01: I kind of want to be one of these after I die.
- 1:06:44SPEAKER_03: Um their bodies are twisted and gnarly and with a long neck and limbs that's that are all covered in sinew.
- 1:06:52SPEAKER_03: The parts of their body that are not covered in sinew are covered in small grey feathers and often stunk of carrion.
- 1:07:00SPEAKER_01: Um I kinda I kinda dig 'em.
- 1:07:06SPEAKER_02: Like they're they're interesting looking.
- 1:07:08SPEAKER_02: Now the physical description of them kinda turned me away after that, because like, ugh.
- 1:07:14SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 1:07:15SPEAKER_03: So they were once thought to be lo loyal only to their own kind, but rocks turned out to be treacherous even towards each other and betrayed their fellows for simple cheap jewels.
- 1:07:24SPEAKER_03: Um they are like literally twisted, horrible birds.
- 1:07:30SPEAKER_01: Like So they're kind of the the greed.
- 1:07:34SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 1:07:34SPEAKER_01: They they kind of embody greed, I see a little bit.
- 1:07:37SPEAKER_03: Um they're capricious in the extreme and only work together due to their um ability to coordinate, and we're well known for abandoning their jobs and enjoining new masters they believe to be more powerful.
- 1:07:49SPEAKER_01: They're kind of like really, really worse Kenku.
- 1:07:53SPEAKER_01: Uh yeah.
- 1:07:54SPEAKER_02: Just demon Kenku, but worse.
- 1:07:56SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 1:07:57SPEAKER_01: Well, even Kenku had a stronger sense of like racial togetherness and everything than it seems like these guys.
- 1:08:05SPEAKER_03: Oh, yeah.
- 1:08:05SPEAKER_03: I mean, these guys don't give a shit.
- 1:08:07SPEAKER_01: Yeah, these are just like hell Kenku.
- 1:08:09SPEAKER_03: I mean, they would sell their mother for one corn chip.
- 1:08:12SPEAKER_03: Yes.
- 1:08:13SPEAKER_03: Impressive YouTube.
- 1:08:14SPEAKER_03: Um, so they saw no reason to accept a bargain when they could simply kill a diplomat, take his treasure, and then have the added benefit of saving their need for carnage and having a fresh meal.
- 1:08:25SPEAKER_02: Delicious.
- 1:08:26SPEAKER_02: Makes perfect sense.
- 1:08:28SPEAKER_03: In combat, they acted like birds of prey, and it's fun.
- 1:08:32SPEAKER_03: Rocks were f were wrought from evil s ancient sins of hatred and wrath, weirdly enough, and not greed.
- 1:08:41SPEAKER_01: I mean, sure.
- 1:08:42SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 1:08:43SPEAKER_03: And even though I have so much more that I have written out, I am going to have to do a part three for demons.
- 1:08:53SPEAKER_02: Oops.
- 1:08:55SPEAKER_02: I'm sure everyone is so upset about this.
- 1:08:57SPEAKER_03: I wanted to get to the neutral evil guys.
- 1:09:00SPEAKER_03: You'll get there.
- 1:09:01SPEAKER_03: Eventually.
- 1:09:02SPEAKER_03: On the bright side, I don't have to do very much research for my next episode.
- 1:09:05SPEAKER_03: Exactly.
- 1:09:06SPEAKER_03: Um, but that's all I have uh that that I can fit into the time.
- 1:09:13SPEAKER_01: Otherwise, you would do like one thing from the next category and then just have to be like, alright, guys, that's it.
- 1:09:18SPEAKER_01: Yeah, maybe on an incredibly unsatisfying cliffhanger.
- 1:09:21SPEAKER_02: At that point, we would just be eating up our uh time availability.
- 1:09:26SPEAKER_02: Yeah, exactly.
- 1:09:27SPEAKER_04: Mm-hmm.
- 1:09:28SPEAKER_02: Rip.
- 1:09:29SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 1:09:30SPEAKER_02: Well, that was certainly Enlightening.
- 1:09:33SPEAKER_02: Enlightening, though.
- 1:09:34SPEAKER_02: Those things are fucking ugly, man.
- 1:09:36SPEAKER_03: Which ones?
- 1:09:37SPEAKER_02: All of well, not all of them.
- 1:09:39SPEAKER_02: I can't say all of them, but most of them.
- 1:09:41SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 1:09:42SPEAKER_02: And then the poor cowardly rats.
- 1:09:44SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 1:09:44SPEAKER_01: Yeah, that that's kind of sad.
- 1:09:47SPEAKER_01: I wish they were at least smart.
- 1:09:49SPEAKER_01: I just feel bad for a lot of these guys.
- 1:09:51SPEAKER_03: Well, don't feel bad because they would very easily just like kill me.
- 1:09:55SPEAKER_01: Oh, yeah.
- 1:09:56SPEAKER_03: Without a second thought.
- 1:09:57SPEAKER_01: Yeah, without even a first thought, really.
- 1:09:59SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 1:10:00SPEAKER_01: Or, you know, like seduce me and then not even stay for breakfast.
- 1:10:04SPEAKER_01: And also corrupt my soul.
- 1:10:05SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 1:10:07SPEAKER_03: Take it.
- 1:10:09unknown: Hmm.
- 1:10:09SPEAKER_02: Well, thank you everyone uh so much for listening.
- 1:10:12SPEAKER_02: Don't forget, follow us on all of our various social media platforms and areas that we mentioned in the break.
- 1:10:20SPEAKER_01: Social media areas.
- 1:10:21SPEAKER_01: Tell your friends who like demons.
- 1:10:23SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 1:10:24SPEAKER_01: I'm I know you have one.
- 1:10:25SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 1:10:26SPEAKER_02: And there's always at least one friend that's into demons.
- 1:10:29SPEAKER_01: Maybe don't tell your parents about this one though, unless they're cool.
- 1:10:32SPEAKER_03: Hopefully you have cool parents.
- 1:10:34SPEAKER_01: Hopefully you have cool parents that like demons.
- 1:10:36SPEAKER_03: If you have anything you would like to suggest as a topic, feel free to send us an email at dungeonpedia.podcast at gmail.com.
- 1:10:42SPEAKER_02: And uh well, I guess you don't really have your word cut out for you for your next episode because it's mostly done.
- 1:10:51SPEAKER_03: Well, I might have to do some adjusting and make sure that it doesn't go as crazy over as this one.
- 1:10:58SPEAKER_03: Hey, it happens.
- 1:10:59SPEAKER_02: But thank you everyone again for listening, and uh, we'll catch you here next week on another episode of Dungeon Pedia.
- 1:11:08SPEAKER_03: Man.
- 1:11:09SPEAKER_01: I think that that was black guy.
- 1:11:12SPEAKER_01: I know.
- 1:11:12SPEAKER_01: The one looks like Master Splinter, and it makes me sad that he's so stupid.
