- 0:07Speaker 1: suitable for all audiences. Listener discretion is advised. Welcome to
- 0:14Speaker 1: Patriot's Unfiltered. What do we think about Nikhil Harry being
- 0:19Speaker 1: involved in the office right now? Are he's supposed to
- 0:22Speaker 1: be here and he's here, and I think he's gonna participate.
- 0:25Speaker 1: I think he should practice in those funky little hat
- 0:28Speaker 1: too long. He should have showed the helmet. Just wears
- 0:30Speaker 1: little hat out. He should shoe. It's since like a
- 0:33Speaker 1: nineteen twenties newsman. Yeah, sure, see Hawyer has jumped over
- 0:37Speaker 1: Zappy in the depth chart over. Well, he's a coach.
- 0:42Speaker 1: Zappy's in. I guess yes, just yes, I want to
- 0:45Speaker 1: see Zappy. Are you happy with very every impressed with Zappy?
- 0:48Speaker 1: I don't know. I fall started left to take a lappy.
- 0:50Speaker 1: I don't want to fall into any trappie. I'm dead serious.
- 0:53Speaker 1: I think he tolds a good ball. He does, but
- 0:55Speaker 1: he's too small, thick on the waist down. Yeah, he's
- 0:58Speaker 1: a well no, but you want me to give you
- 1:02Speaker 1: a minute though. Nutricia's walking along and in his right
- 1:06Speaker 1: hand he's got a little black walkie talk I can
- 1:09Speaker 1: see something in his hand. Yeah. Now it could be
- 1:11Speaker 1: a chocolate Eclaire too, I'm not you know. You see,
- 1:13Speaker 1: this is Patriot's Unfiltered, fueled by Dunking. All right, welcome
- 1:20Speaker 1: the Patriots Unfiltered. It is Thursday here at Gillette Stadium,
- 1:24Speaker 1: and it's been a kind of a wild day here.
- 1:27Speaker 1: We started the day by learning what we started last night,
- 1:30Speaker 1: by learning that they moved practice to nine thirty. So
- 1:33Speaker 1: we're like, okay, Scramble, Scramble Special morning Edition, move your
- 1:37Speaker 1: you know, the live show outside at nine thirty. Ready
- 1:40Speaker 1: to go. We're all ready to go. Then about six
- 1:42Speaker 1: thirty this morning, um, they might be canceling practice, okay,
- 1:47Speaker 1: And then by seven we found out that they had
- 1:50Speaker 1: canceled practice, so we're like, all right, we're back to
- 1:52Speaker 1: our regular time at noon. I think it worked out
- 1:55Speaker 1: well though, because if they went into the bubble week,
- 1:56Speaker 1: I mean, you wouldn't be able. We're done. Yeah, so
- 2:00Speaker 1: we got everything and now we get to get to talk. Yeah, so,
- 2:02Speaker 1: but it kind of stinks. I was hoping for that
- 2:04Speaker 1: one more day to go out and watch them. You know,
- 2:07Speaker 1: it was a fun two days. It's a It's a
- 2:09Speaker 1: great way to break up the spring and get a
- 2:11Speaker 1: little actual information. I mean not that it's you know,
- 2:15Speaker 1: definitive in any way, but but you get to watch
- 2:17Speaker 1: some football. It's fun. Absolutely. I listen. You know, this
- 2:21Speaker 1: is the time for kneat jerk, you know, you know,
- 2:24Speaker 1: takes in opinions, you know, with very very little information. Right,
- 2:29Speaker 1: But my my contention that I'm okay with the offense
- 2:34Speaker 1: and I think that Mac has enough weapons to me
- 2:37Speaker 1: was confirmed. I agree, I'm confirmed, I agree, and I
- 2:40Speaker 1: shouldn't watch any eleven on eleven stuff. I take it now, Okay, okay,
- 2:44Speaker 1: we'll take those limited Sam size. I agree with you,
- 2:47Speaker 1: and I also think my concerns about the defense were
- 2:50Speaker 1: kind of reinforced just seeing it on the field. It's
- 2:53Speaker 1: a work in progress, but I got some some real
- 2:56Speaker 1: questions about the defense. I would agree with with you guys. Um,
- 2:59Speaker 1: secondary we all thought was a huge question wreck there
- 3:03Speaker 1: were some breakdowns in coverage. I mean, I don't think
- 3:05Speaker 1: it's overly surprising at this time of year, although I
- 3:09Speaker 1: did hear Jack Jones had a couple. Jack Jones is competitive,
- 3:13Speaker 1: very competitive, I do think. Um, you know, Mike and
- 3:17Speaker 1: I talked about this a little after practice yesterday. I
- 3:19Speaker 1: do think there's an element of he's going at a
- 3:21Speaker 1: speed that's different than pretty much everybody else. So it's
- 3:24Speaker 1: something to keep in mind, to keep keep an eye
- 3:26Speaker 1: on um. But the lack of depth in the secondary,
- 3:32Speaker 1: I think is an issue. And I don't know. I
- 3:34Speaker 1: mean they have, They've had a lot of different guys
- 3:36Speaker 1: out there. When you say that, you mean talented depth. Yeah,
- 3:39Speaker 1: because they've got numbers. Well, they have numbers of safety.
- 3:42Speaker 1: They don't at corner I mean it's Malcolm Butler, Terrence Mitchell, yeah,
- 3:47Speaker 1: Jack Jones and you know, yeah, you know like the rookies.
- 3:51Speaker 1: I mean that rookies don't provide you depth until they play. No,
- 3:54Speaker 1: but I'm saying they have numbers, they have cornerbacks, yes
- 3:56Speaker 1: they have. They have players on the roster, yes, yes,
- 3:59Speaker 1: they have a lot of death the wide receiver to
- 4:01Speaker 1: Christian Wilkerson. You know, I mean Irey Nixon, you know,
- 4:05Speaker 1: not to disagree with Paul. I know everybody hates when
- 4:07Speaker 1: I do that, but I'm more never doing I'm more
- 4:09Speaker 1: concerned about the front. It's the same guys. It's Lawrence guy,
- 4:12Speaker 1: it's Godchaw, it's Dietrich Wise. Those that's your front and
- 4:15Speaker 1: that's what you're gonna say. We're going to go into
- 4:18Speaker 1: games and that I believe that's who you kind of
- 4:20Speaker 1: win or lose games within the trenches. And I think
- 4:22Speaker 1: there is some depth in the secondary. I don't think
- 4:24Speaker 1: the top line is great or clear yet, but I
- 4:26Speaker 1: think it'll be okay. I think the safety group is
- 4:29Speaker 1: very deep, and I think they'll be able to do
- 4:31Speaker 1: some things against the past, but against the run, winning
- 4:35Speaker 1: the battle in the trenches, the physical teams. That that's
- 4:38Speaker 1: my concern right now. Against it. I feel good about
- 4:40Speaker 1: the offense, I really do. I think there's a lot
- 4:41Speaker 1: of pieces there. I'm going to agree and disagree with Mike.
- 4:43Speaker 1: I'm going to agree with his concerns about the front.
- 4:46Speaker 1: I think that they basically brought back the same cast
- 4:48Speaker 1: of characters that has struggled the last couple of years
- 4:50Speaker 1: to stop the run. That's an issue to me. But
- 4:53Speaker 1: here's the thing, but I don't have any confidence whatsoever
- 4:55Speaker 1: that they can stop the past. You know, they couldn't
- 4:59Speaker 1: last year and lost the best part of that. Let's
- 5:01Speaker 1: get back to the run for a second, because this
- 5:04Speaker 1: is an example of you know, it looked bad at times,
- 5:08Speaker 1: but why and that's where we don't really know personnel,
- 5:11Speaker 1: you know. So for example, like for all we know Barmore, Gotcha,
- 5:15Speaker 1: the guys up front did what they were supposed to do,
- 5:18Speaker 1: but the guys were supposed to clean up and take
- 5:20Speaker 1: advantage of that didn't do their job, you know. And
- 5:23Speaker 1: I'm talking about high Tower in van Noy and the
- 5:27Speaker 1: guys on the edge, and you know, maybe with a
- 5:30Speaker 1: little bit more speed this year, Gotcha looks better because
- 5:35Speaker 1: the guys are filling the gaps the way they're you know,
- 5:38Speaker 1: the run fits. You know, they're doing that better than
- 5:41Speaker 1: they did last year because they're getting there. Yeah, I know,
- 5:44Speaker 1: I suppose it's possible, but I just don't see a
- 5:48Speaker 1: defense that made a lot of plays behind the line
- 5:50Speaker 1: of scrimmage last year. I feel like, consistently, especially in
- 5:53Speaker 1: some of the really bad games, that teams were getting
- 5:56Speaker 1: two three yards a pop even when they were stopping them.
- 5:59Speaker 1: And how do you make an argument now that they're
- 6:03Speaker 1: going to be better now? I hear? I mean, I
- 6:06Speaker 1: see ray Qua McMillan, I see mac Wilson. Those guys
- 6:08Speaker 1: can run a little bit so that I remember, remember
- 6:10Speaker 1: the Patriots unfiltered mantra don't listen to what they say.
- 6:14Speaker 1: Look at what they do. They got rid of linebackers,
- 6:18Speaker 1: they didn't get rid of guys up front, So what
- 6:22Speaker 1: do they think it's a good point. They think it's
- 6:24Speaker 1: a good point. I just think that you're drawing your
- 6:26Speaker 1: conclusion that is different than what they d I don't
- 6:29Speaker 1: think that they feel like it's that big of an
- 6:31Speaker 1: issue if they allow rushing yards. I really do. And
- 6:36Speaker 1: I'm not going with the Patriots thing like, yeah, they
- 6:39Speaker 1: got two hundred yards rushing because Bill wanted them to.
- 6:41Speaker 1: I'm not going with that because because they don't want
- 6:44Speaker 1: to allow two hundred yards rushing in games. But I
- 6:47Speaker 1: just I feel like that they don't think that that
- 6:49Speaker 1: was the reason why their defense struggled. And you make
- 6:55Speaker 1: a really good point. They brought back those guys. I
- 6:58Speaker 1: think god Cha was terrible. I think he was terrible.
- 7:01Speaker 1: I think is excellent. I disagree about Gotcha. I think
- 7:05Speaker 1: he was adequate. I don't think he's very good at all.
- 7:07Speaker 1: I think he gets pushed all over the place. And
- 7:10Speaker 1: I mean, I don't know if that's the reason why
- 7:12Speaker 1: they couldn't stop the run. I'm not I'm not equating
- 7:15Speaker 1: those that's why. I think Fred's makes a really good
- 7:17Speaker 1: point about maybe he is okay, but he needs help.
- 7:23Speaker 1: I'm sorry. I find it hard to believe that Ray Kwa,
- 7:25Speaker 1: McMillan and Mack Wilson are going to be better stopping
- 7:29Speaker 1: the run than Dante high Tower and Kyle van Noy.
- 7:32Speaker 1: Like stopping the run. You want to tell me that
- 7:34Speaker 1: mac Wilson's better in the flat covering Devin Singletary, You
- 7:39Speaker 1: can convince me of that. Yeah, you want to tell
- 7:41Speaker 1: me that those guys can move around and make plays
- 7:44Speaker 1: on the perimeter better than Van Noy and and that
- 7:47Speaker 1: I can buy filling against the guard against the run.
- 7:51Speaker 1: I can't. I can't buy that, okay, that that those
- 7:53Speaker 1: guys will be better filling. I just I just you know,
- 7:57Speaker 1: and we love Dante high Tower for everything that he's
- 7:59Speaker 1: done for the team, but I just remember so many
- 8:02Speaker 1: times where he's just watching guys blow by him and
- 8:04Speaker 1: he's just like, and I don't like, I don't want
- 8:07Speaker 1: to say it's an effort thing. Yeah, you know why,
- 8:09Speaker 1: But it's because they're breaking through the line untouched, like
- 8:12Speaker 1: Jonathan Taylor and the famous for the you know, the
- 8:15Speaker 1: third and short play, was it or a fourth and
- 8:17Speaker 1: short that he broke on for the long run. What
- 8:19Speaker 1: was that? Yeah? Yeah, but maybe, but maybe he's supposed
- 8:23Speaker 1: to be up closer to the line. I mean it
- 8:26Speaker 1: should be a tackle for five yards. Yeah, but in
- 8:29Speaker 1: that particular case, the game would have been over with
- 8:31Speaker 1: the tackle for five yards. He should have made the tackle.
- 8:33Speaker 1: He did not play well at times last year. I'm
- 8:36Speaker 1: not telling you that. A matter of fact, I've been
- 8:38Speaker 1: telling you the opposite. I think it's time to move on, right,
- 8:41Speaker 1: But you can't tell me as a as a run
- 8:43Speaker 1: stopper that mac Wilson will be a better option than
- 8:48Speaker 1: Dante high Tower or Kyle Van Noy. Yeah, I don't
- 8:51Speaker 1: well the way high Tower played last year, I'm not
- 8:55Speaker 1: sure about that. I am okay, I am positive of it. Yeah,
- 9:00Speaker 1: it's just the same guys. But Max here, Max speaking
- 9:03Speaker 1: right now, And I mean, I don't want to spend
- 9:05Speaker 1: too much time on this very red he'd been working
- 9:08Speaker 1: out it looks like. But I just got to say
- 9:10Speaker 1: I just really impressed with him too, Like the progress
- 9:13Speaker 1: he's made. He looks in command of the offense. He
- 9:15Speaker 1: had some nice downfield throws. You know, it is what
- 9:18Speaker 1: it is. In terms of being minicamp, but I just
- 9:20Speaker 1: think he looks like a second year quarterback. He's under control,
- 9:24Speaker 1: he's in command. So from that perspective, I think that
- 9:27Speaker 1: that was my biggest takeaway, Mac looking like the guy
- 9:31Speaker 1: that we need him to be this year. And as
- 9:34Speaker 1: you said, I don't think that they have a plus
- 9:37Speaker 1: weapon guy Tyreek Hill that guy. But I think they
- 9:40Speaker 1: got a lot of pieces that they have to somehow
- 9:42Speaker 1: figure out what's our best offense. But I think they
- 9:45Speaker 1: have some choices that they haven't had in the last
- 9:47Speaker 1: couple of years. And that goes to the tight end group,
- 9:49Speaker 1: that goes to the running back group. That they're deep
- 9:52Speaker 1: and maybe not top heavy, certainly you know that, but
- 9:55Speaker 1: there's there's a lot of solid guys there. You know.
- 9:58Speaker 1: You know I'm the reason to be like I think
- 10:00Speaker 1: they could do something here on offense. I'm with you.
- 10:03Speaker 1: I'm with you. I'm not but I'm with you. With
- 10:05Speaker 1: everything you said about Mac Jones, I think that he
- 10:07Speaker 1: is um. He's the leader and it shows on the field.
- 10:12Speaker 1: He's doing a little bit of everything. And I'm not
- 10:14Speaker 1: even talking about the way he's playing because they haven't
- 10:17Speaker 1: done anything. But he's with wide receivers, you know, going routes. Um.
- 10:23Speaker 1: I think that he's been constantly talking with Judge and
- 10:27Speaker 1: Patricia mostly Patricia UM. But I think the level that he,
- 10:33Speaker 1: you know, just visually that he's at right is so
- 10:36Speaker 1: much different. He looks so much more comfortable from what
- 10:38Speaker 1: we've seen. He's taken this really seriously, yes, and like
- 10:43Speaker 1: he's doing everything he can. Yeah, you're right, he has.
- 10:46Speaker 1: He's the guy that needs to put in the extra work. No,
- 10:48Speaker 1: I don't mean because of that. I mean, where are
- 10:50Speaker 1: they going to go? Who's who's he getting the guidance from.
- 10:53Speaker 1: He's got to take what you're saying. And I agree,
- 10:55Speaker 1: But I also think that you know, he's a guy
- 10:57Speaker 1: that he's he's the extra effort guy because he needs
- 11:01Speaker 1: to e every Now. He doesn't have the natural ability
- 11:03Speaker 1: you know of you know, Lamar Jackson. You know, he's
- 11:06Speaker 1: gotta he's got to work at it. But he is.
- 11:09Speaker 1: He's doing it. He's doing it. It's just as as
- 11:12Speaker 1: a as a Patriots fan, your quarterback is doing everything
- 11:15Speaker 1: he possibly can. Now will it translate to him being
- 11:18Speaker 1: a top ten quarterback in the league. He's got to
- 11:20Speaker 1: go out there and prove it. But I don't think
- 11:22Speaker 1: you could ask any more of Mac Jones in terms
- 11:24Speaker 1: of what he's done, what he's bringing. I mean, Paul,
- 11:26Speaker 1: Paul made a comment during practice that stood out to
- 11:29Speaker 1: me was just, you know, whenever Mac goes, the ball's
- 11:32Speaker 1: not hitting the ground. The ball And I remember Paul
- 11:34Speaker 1: telling me two years ago when we're watching Cam Newton
- 11:37Speaker 1: do it, Brady Brady was here, Baul never hit the ground,
- 11:41Speaker 1: you know, not not trying to say that he's Brady,
- 11:43Speaker 1: but that's the kind of community offense, particularly in shorts.
- 11:47Speaker 1: When you're doing a mini camp and it's a lot
- 11:51Speaker 1: of you know, prep work, it's a lot of install
- 11:54Speaker 1: it's half we're running the plays, you know, against air.
- 11:58Speaker 1: The ball should never hit the ground. Right with Mac Jones,
- 12:01Speaker 1: the ball never hits the ground. It does when the
- 12:03Speaker 1: other guys go Okay, and I'm not telling you that well, geez,
- 12:06Speaker 1: when Hoyer goes, he's like completing half the passes. No,
- 12:09Speaker 1: they're in the nineties, both him and Zappy, but sometimes
- 12:12Speaker 1: they miss. Yeah. Mac never misses, Yeah, and he just
- 12:17Speaker 1: looks like really in control, yeah, of what of what
- 12:22Speaker 1: they're doing. And I think part of that is mentally
- 12:26Speaker 1: he's gotten it he gets, you know, like does he
- 12:29Speaker 1: have all the answers like Brady, No, But I think
- 12:31Speaker 1: he's got some of them. Now. It's that part of it,
- 12:34Speaker 1: you know, comes That's the part that comes naturally to him.
- 12:38Speaker 1: It's the upstairs part, right, yeah. Yeah, And I mean
- 12:42Speaker 1: and I think we saw some some downfield passing last
- 12:45Speaker 1: year from him a little bit. But but he's had
- 12:47Speaker 1: some great throws and those stand out. You know, I
- 12:50Speaker 1: think Agalore has looked, you know, he looks better to me.
- 12:53Speaker 1: I don't know if I'm if I'm hoping against hope
- 12:55Speaker 1: with him, but he's just consistent around. I mean, he's
- 12:58Speaker 1: probably caught as many passes as anybody the last few days.
- 13:00Speaker 1: But you know, between him between Parker, we saw the
- 13:03Speaker 1: contested catch with Parker. You know, Trey Nixon has been
- 13:06Speaker 1: the talk of training camp, which we're gonna chat a
- 13:08Speaker 1: little bit about him, but doing everything he can with
- 13:10Speaker 1: the opportunity he got over those two days with Myers,
- 13:13Speaker 1: seeing like he's coming back from something and Bourne was
- 13:16Speaker 1: out that first. You know, if you if you look
- 13:17Speaker 1: at the trajectory of any like um, you know Cinderella story,
- 13:22Speaker 1: a guy who you know really didn't have a shot.
- 13:25Speaker 1: But these are the steps that all those stories had
- 13:29Speaker 1: early on. They gave him an opportunity, and the person
- 13:33Speaker 1: you know, did something with the opportunity and then built
- 13:36Speaker 1: from there, you know. And that's that's what a guy
- 13:39Speaker 1: like Trey Nixon had. Ty Nixon has put himself like
- 13:42Speaker 1: when when we're you know, a month from now or
- 13:44Speaker 1: a month and a half from now, when we're getting
- 13:46Speaker 1: ready and Mike and I are like, you know, let's
- 13:48Speaker 1: come up with you know, eight burning questions for training,
- 13:51Speaker 1: you know, some you know, Kenny build some clickbait that
- 13:53Speaker 1: we'll put together. Yeah, that will be one. I think
- 13:57Speaker 1: that will be included no matter how many we decide
- 13:59Speaker 1: to do. Trey Nixon, can he do it with pads
- 14:02Speaker 1: on against defense? Yeah? The way he did in minicamp,
- 14:05Speaker 1: right will be a question. You know, I sort of
- 14:10Speaker 1: threw one way out there. Okay, So most of the
- 14:13Speaker 1: stuff that he was doing, you know, like Jacoby Myers
- 14:16Speaker 1: is definitely limited by some something physical. He's not doing
- 14:20Speaker 1: anything against defense. He does the drills, he's been out
- 14:22Speaker 1: there every day that we've been out there, but he
- 14:24Speaker 1: doesn't do anything, you know, and he's in a group
- 14:27Speaker 1: of about remember a half dozen or so players you
- 14:31Speaker 1: know that are out there every day. But you know,
- 14:33Speaker 1: Jabrill Peppers, Marcus Jones, they're there a lot. You know
- 14:38Speaker 1: James White, you know, they're they're both. They do some
- 14:41Speaker 1: conditioning work too, But I haven't seen Jacoby Myers do
- 14:44Speaker 1: one rep against a defense. So Trey Nixon has been
- 14:47Speaker 1: in the slot and gotten those opportunities, and I started
- 14:49Speaker 1: to think, you know, Myers is now a restricted free agent,
- 14:53Speaker 1: so he got you know, it's not expensive, like you
- 14:56Speaker 1: got a second round tender. I believe it's not overly daunting,
- 15:00Speaker 1: but you just wonder, are they given this guy the
- 15:04Speaker 1: extended look and the players are designed to go places?
- 15:06Speaker 1: You know? And Trey Nixon said that on Tuesday, the
- 15:10Speaker 1: first shot play that he had is he said, his
- 15:12Speaker 1: eyes lit up. He got all excited about it because
- 15:14Speaker 1: he knew it was coming to him. He knew it
- 15:15Speaker 1: was going to be an opportunity. So they're designing plays
- 15:18Speaker 1: for Trey Nixon in mini camp, and you just wonder,
- 15:23Speaker 1: does Bill look at that and say, this guy can
- 15:26Speaker 1: give me what I need in the slot. I could
- 15:28Speaker 1: save a couple of million here. Well, yeah, it's let's
- 15:31Speaker 1: can he do it now? Because you know, like they say,
- 15:34Speaker 1: if they don't bite when they're puppies, they don't won't
- 15:35Speaker 1: bite with their dogs. If you can't do it in shorts,
- 15:38Speaker 1: you probably can't do it when it's contested. But he
- 15:41Speaker 1: passed this test, and maybe Myers stays and stays in
- 15:44Speaker 1: the role as the slot guy this year, and then
- 15:46Speaker 1: they just say thanks, but you know, good luck on
- 15:49Speaker 1: two more years and you go, and then you have
- 15:51Speaker 1: Trey Nixon for another two years. Yeah, yeah, you know,
- 15:56Speaker 1: I mean I went to so far as to say, like,
- 15:58Speaker 1: if they really like Nixon, you know, maybe you you
- 16:01Speaker 1: send Myers on his way now, like, you know, let's
- 16:04Speaker 1: put him in the surprise cut category, right. You know,
- 16:07Speaker 1: I think they got a lot of the I think
- 16:09Speaker 1: they got a lot of bodies there, and they're gonna
- 16:11Speaker 1: have to I mean, they're gonna have some tough decisions
- 16:13Speaker 1: to make either way. But you know, how many What
- 16:16Speaker 1: what did Nixon's opportunities look like when we get to
- 16:19Speaker 1: training camp? Is Myers able to go? Does that bury him?
- 16:22Speaker 1: I also want to see what does Nixon look like
- 16:24Speaker 1: when he gets hit? Because he's small, like get the
- 16:27Speaker 1: pads on. Myers has a little bulk to his frame. Yeah,
- 16:30Speaker 1: you know, to me, um, can you get off a press,
- 16:33Speaker 1: but you get away. For the last two years, Myers
- 16:36Speaker 1: has been over the middle catching a lot of passes
- 16:38Speaker 1: and he's and he's he's answered the bell every time. Right, yep,
- 16:41Speaker 1: that's his that's his strength. So I do wonder if
- 16:44Speaker 1: Trey Nixon could do the same thing and hold up
- 16:47Speaker 1: over eighty five catches like Myers did last year. Yeah,
- 16:50Speaker 1: And that's that's a good point too, because Myers maybe
- 16:54Speaker 1: not the crazy athleticism that but reliable in the right spot,
- 16:58Speaker 1: makes the tough catches. And I do think they went
- 17:01Speaker 1: down field a little bit with him last year. Not
- 17:03Speaker 1: a lot, not a lot. I'm not trying to they listen.
- 17:05Speaker 1: They did not have a lot of explosive plays last year,
- 17:08Speaker 1: but I do think he made a few. Yeah. And
- 17:11Speaker 1: I before anybody attacks like this is this is a
- 17:15Speaker 1: pu This is a Patriots unfiltered post mini camp sort
- 17:19Speaker 1: of just throwing some some stuff. You know, we're watching
- 17:21Speaker 1: Trey Nixon play. Well, like you said, Fred, they gave
- 17:24Speaker 1: him some opportunities and he took advantage of the opportunities.
- 17:27Speaker 1: Let's see where it goes. And now I'm just sort
- 17:29Speaker 1: of connecting dots and wondering about the future. I'm not
- 17:32Speaker 1: telling you that means anything. Well, this is the fun
- 17:34Speaker 1: of it, because this is what you want. You want
- 17:36Speaker 1: random guy to pop in a camp and it's no
- 17:39Speaker 1: you know, no certainty that he's going to carry it
- 17:41Speaker 1: over into camp. But I mean, how much did we
- 17:43Speaker 1: spend any time talking about Trey Nixon in the last
- 17:45Speaker 1: couple of months. None? You know, he comes out and
- 17:47Speaker 1: trade Nixon did more in these two days than he
- 17:49Speaker 1: did in the entirety of the offseason last year that
- 17:51Speaker 1: we got to see. Right, I'm not telling you what
- 17:52Speaker 1: happened in days that we weren't around, but training camp,
- 17:55Speaker 1: he was a non factor. He was not out there
- 17:57Speaker 1: at all. And then I throw another guy, not not
- 18:00Speaker 1: exactly in that mix, but we talked about him a
- 18:02Speaker 1: little bit. Was was Bledsoll, another guy didn't really have
- 18:05Speaker 1: any expectations for him, but was with the top defense
- 18:08Speaker 1: a little bit, was working and look comfortable in noority
- 18:11Speaker 1: with going with other front line guys. And that's why
- 18:14Speaker 1: I separate Nixon, because Nixon's out there with a galore
- 18:17Speaker 1: and Born and John hu Smith and here we go
- 18:21Speaker 1: and as opposed to just getting reps with And this
- 18:25Speaker 1: is a good example of how much we know and
- 18:28Speaker 1: we don't know like we but these are the first
- 18:31Speaker 1: practices that you know, we've had extended looks. They've been
- 18:34Speaker 1: out there. So somewhere along the line, Trey Nixon may
- 18:37Speaker 1: have done something, Joshua Bledsoew might have done building and
- 18:40Speaker 1: we have no idea that And then we get out
- 18:42Speaker 1: there and it was like, whoa, who's this guy? He's
- 18:44Speaker 1: all of a sudden. I always find some reason why
- 18:46Speaker 1: they're there, you know, and this is, you know, kind
- 18:48Speaker 1: of unrelated to what we're talking about right now, but
- 18:50Speaker 1: I always find that part of it interesting. And I
- 18:52Speaker 1: said this to Mike yesterday when we were up there,
- 18:54Speaker 1: and like, so they drafted Cole Strange and they just
- 18:58Speaker 1: said he's our left guard, right, Like he didn't. He
- 19:03Speaker 1: didn't do anything to earn that other than get drafted
- 19:05Speaker 1: in the first round. That's right. And I'm not saying
- 19:06Speaker 1: that he doesn't deserve the spot. I know, it's just
- 19:08Speaker 1: you know, bear with me here, but sight unseen, he's
- 19:11Speaker 1: the left guard, Like what did he do? Like that?
- 19:15Speaker 1: For instance, Cameron mcgron can't do right because Cameron mcgron
- 19:19Speaker 1: doesn't get a sniff. He's never out there with any
- 19:21Speaker 1: of these groups that we're talking about. It's Mac Wilson now, yeah,
- 19:25Speaker 1: and you know Juan Juwan, Bentley, Ray Kwon, McMillan. We
- 19:28Speaker 1: haven't seen anything from Cameron mcgron other than scout work. Yeah,
- 19:33Speaker 1: so like what does he have? Like I'm always curious
- 19:36Speaker 1: as to why this guy gets the job site unseen,
- 19:39Speaker 1: this guy doesn't what do they know? Yeah, it's it's
- 19:43Speaker 1: a good guess. I guess that's why they took him
- 19:45Speaker 1: in the first round. I know. But even a lot
- 19:48Speaker 1: of first rounders, like at least you know, there's a
- 19:52Speaker 1: formality like you'll see the veteran backup in there first
- 19:56Speaker 1: and then oh yeah, you know a week later, just
- 19:58Speaker 1: for a second, this guy there's like that this ostensible
- 20:02Speaker 1: like you know, you know, he earned it, not no
- 20:06Speaker 1: cold strange Day one. Well, we're talking about yesterday. He's
- 20:09Speaker 1: not signed yet, right, he's we're still waiting to sign,
- 20:12Speaker 1: right right, there's still four guys. Jack Jones signed today. Okay, um,
- 20:17Speaker 1: but it made me think when we were talking about
- 20:19Speaker 1: that yesterday, is there are certain positions that if you
- 20:22Speaker 1: did all the stats across the league that rookies contribute
- 20:25Speaker 1: immediately or sooner than than other positions. Is it just
- 20:28Speaker 1: related to hear I don't know, just something. Well. It
- 20:30Speaker 1: used to be running back was one that you could
- 20:32Speaker 1: get in early, and of course offensive line. Wide receiver wasn't.
- 20:36Speaker 1: But now that's changed, you know. Now wide receivers are
- 20:39Speaker 1: coming out, especially the early picks. They're coming out and
- 20:43Speaker 1: contributing right away. Yeah, yeah, yeah, No, it's uh Jack Jones,
- 20:48Speaker 1: we brought him up. I mean, just a few guys
- 20:50Speaker 1: standing out. I think it's um, but it's hard. There
- 20:53Speaker 1: wasn't a lot of eleven on eleven. There wasn't really
- 20:56Speaker 1: any anywhere they were moving the ball and and and
- 20:58Speaker 1: and kind of scrimmaging. That's thing. The offense has looked
- 21:01Speaker 1: much better in seven on seven than eleven on eleven,
- 21:03Speaker 1: and I think that's why, Like we've had some sort
- 21:06Speaker 1: of differing opinions as to the quality of practice, and
- 21:12Speaker 1: like I think Mac Jones has thrown the ball exceptionally
- 21:14Speaker 1: well in the two days and I wrote it both days.
- 21:17Speaker 1: But someone asked me why I was so much down
- 21:22Speaker 1: on Matt Jones some others and I didn't like listen
- 21:28Speaker 1: I'm not here to tell you that the other guys
- 21:30Speaker 1: are wrong. I'm just saying I think his downfield passing
- 21:32Speaker 1: has been on point in the two days that we
- 21:34Speaker 1: got to watch. The throw he made to Aghalore in
- 21:37Speaker 1: the sideline yesterday was unbelievable. It was perfect. Now, a
- 21:40Speaker 1: lot of people that were over there thought he was
- 21:42Speaker 1: out of bounds, you know, we can't see that from
- 21:44Speaker 1: the eight miles away that we were, but it was
- 21:46Speaker 1: still a perfect throw. But it was seven on seven.
- 21:49Speaker 1: When it's eleven on eleven, it doesn't look like that. Yeah,
- 21:52Speaker 1: I saw him pull down the ball once or twice,
- 21:57Speaker 1: you know. And what the reason for that, who knows.
- 22:00Speaker 1: But it's probably just guys either didn't run the right
- 22:03Speaker 1: route or they didn't get open. All the completions in
- 22:06Speaker 1: eleven on eleven. When I say all again, I don't
- 22:09Speaker 1: mean every single one. I'm just saying the vast majority
- 22:11Speaker 1: of the stuff that we saw last summer, the little
- 22:13Speaker 1: dump offs of the backs, the little check downs, you know,
- 22:16Speaker 1: shallow crosses. Our boy, Taekwon Thornton has called a number
- 22:19Speaker 1: of little shallow crosses and digs and you know, nothing
- 22:22Speaker 1: really down the field. And we saw, you know, the
- 22:24Speaker 1: Saint Mac has had issues down the scene and we've
- 22:28Speaker 1: seen those. You know, Harris caught it, Damien Harris. But
- 22:32Speaker 1: it was a bad pass. The one, the one that
- 22:34Speaker 1: was intercepted yesterday too Born I mean, not exactly a scene,
- 22:37Speaker 1: but kind of in that area the field and he missed.
- 22:39Speaker 1: He missed Agalore wide open on the numbers on Tuesday,
- 22:43Speaker 1: you know, twenty yards. You know he's nobody, nobody was
- 22:46Speaker 1: near him. Yeah, that might be his bill blast? Is
- 22:49Speaker 1: that the guy Steve Steve Bass, Steve blasts what flag?
- 22:56Speaker 1: That one from Rome? That might be his Steve Blasts throw.
- 23:02Speaker 1: Like he just there's something about down the scene in
- 23:04Speaker 1: the middle that he has trouble with. I find like
- 23:08Speaker 1: it's a to pause point. I think a lot of
- 23:10Speaker 1: the reports were just in how they were packaged, because
- 23:12Speaker 1: when you go into the actually reading the what people
- 23:15Speaker 1: were writing about what they saw, it all kind of
- 23:17Speaker 1: matches up that and it's intentional too. Like people it's
- 23:20Speaker 1: like he had an amazing day. Did he tail off
- 23:22Speaker 1: at the end, Yes, but it was amazing. I think
- 23:25Speaker 1: everybody knows by now every big throw he made those
- 23:27Speaker 1: were the ones. The other ones they weren't talking about
- 23:29Speaker 1: were a lot of little just dump offs. It's fine
- 23:32Speaker 1: what they learned in the offense whatever, but you know,
- 23:34Speaker 1: it's just, uh, I think there's a little bit of
- 23:36Speaker 1: sensationalism going on sometimes where it's just oh my god.
- 23:39Speaker 1: But it was certainly good. You just try to be
- 23:42Speaker 1: balanced that. I mean, it wasn't it wasn't perfect, but
- 23:44Speaker 1: it's you know, those that do the stats, and you
- 23:47Speaker 1: know how much I love those um what they pick
- 23:50Speaker 1: and choose to include. Like to me, if you're doing stats,
- 23:54Speaker 1: hey have fun, shoot your best shot, but drew them all.
- 23:58Speaker 1: Like on on Tuesday, Mike and I are looking at
- 24:01Speaker 1: each other and like we were reading these these people
- 24:04Speaker 1: that are coming up with he was twenty two for
- 24:06Speaker 1: twenty three, or twenty one for twenty he was twenty
- 24:09Speaker 1: four for twenty two. He actually had two. That's the
- 24:13Speaker 1: but that's that's the Boston. That guy that guy out
- 24:17Speaker 1: that was funny. He's the guy that said Matt confirmed
- 24:19Speaker 1: Brandy his off season or something like that. That guy's funny.
- 24:23Speaker 1: I like that. You know who better than me to
- 24:26Speaker 1: like snark? But the yes, all of my favorite things.
- 24:30Speaker 1: The you know, Mike and I are looking like, um
- 24:35Speaker 1: so that guy dropped that pass, and then this one
- 24:38Speaker 1: went off that guy's hands, and this one was under
- 24:40Speaker 1: thrown like you can in you just in your mind's eye,
- 24:43Speaker 1: you're like, I remember at least three or four incomplete passes.
- 24:46Speaker 1: How are these guys having won? Right? Well? Two? And
- 24:48Speaker 1: then you're like, what are they counting? So yesterday I
- 24:50Speaker 1: counted everything, and again I came up with six incomplete passes. Right,
- 24:54Speaker 1: he was seventeen for twenty three. Yeah, now this is
- 24:57Speaker 1: counting everything. Seven on sevens, eleven on eleven, various like
- 25:02Speaker 1: levels of competitiveness. I would say, yea, and no one
- 25:06Speaker 1: had him with six and complete passes. I was the
- 25:07Speaker 1: only one, and I was just like, if you're gonna
- 25:09Speaker 1: count them, count them right, you know. So that was
- 25:12Speaker 1: my one experiment for yesterday, and I will go back
- 25:14Speaker 1: to never keeping track of stats again at practice. Yeah. Well,
- 25:16Speaker 1: it's like if you don't have a ninety percent completion
- 25:19Speaker 1: percentage in these kind of practices, like you got real problems.
- 25:22Speaker 1: It's not like he's picking apart in eleven on eleven
- 25:24Speaker 1: defense and a live scrimmage. It's a good point because
- 25:27Speaker 1: even the bombs in seven on seven should be completed,
- 25:30Speaker 1: Like you should be able to complete a pass, you know,
- 25:34Speaker 1: more often than not. And I'm not saying every one
- 25:36Speaker 1: he completed, like four of them yesterday. They're pretty Yeah,
- 25:42Speaker 1: he was. He was good yesterday. He's been good. He's
- 25:44Speaker 1: been he throws the ball. Well, he's very accurate. We
- 25:46Speaker 1: know what he is. We'd always an accurate passer, right Like,
- 25:49Speaker 1: I don't even think the biggest critic would say he's
- 25:51Speaker 1: not an accurate passer. Very happy that Mac Jones is
- 25:54Speaker 1: our quarterback, all right. Um. The other story that we
- 25:57Speaker 1: were keeping our eye on it was the whole coaching
- 25:59Speaker 1: thing on offense and who's doing what and uh, you
- 26:04Speaker 1: know Freddie was at the forefront of this, even no
- 26:06Speaker 1: before you know, the mini camp. Jeff Howe had the
- 26:09Speaker 1: story that you know he might have gotten from Reecee,
- 26:13Speaker 1: but that it looks like Patricia the trend you know,
- 26:16Speaker 1: it looks like it's trending towards Patricia calling the plays.
- 26:20Speaker 1: And there he was with a walkie talkie calling plays. Um,
- 26:24Speaker 1: so maybe he knew something or somebody told him something,
- 26:28Speaker 1: or the only thing is Joe Judge has a wakie
- 26:30Speaker 1: talkie calling plays too, That's the only thing about that.
- 26:33Speaker 1: But Okay, there's no question Patricia is more involved than Judge.
- 26:38Speaker 1: And we looked at it. It's I know it's simplistic,
- 26:42Speaker 1: but on seven on seven's Judge is doing it. They're passing. Right.
- 26:45Speaker 1: When it's full team and they run, it's Patricia, right,
- 26:48Speaker 1: it's running game coordinator, passing game coordinator. Yeah, but that's
- 26:51Speaker 1: what it looks like from AFAR. Yeah, I thought last
- 26:54Speaker 1: week it would be Joe Judge and after mini camp
- 26:56Speaker 1: now I agree with that report. I think it probably
- 26:59Speaker 1: will be Matt Patricia. I just don't remember do they
- 27:01Speaker 1: ever do walkie talkies before? I feel like Josh always
- 27:03Speaker 1: just had a headset on days they were going to
- 27:05Speaker 1: be calling in plays. Yeah, and I do wonder if
- 27:07Speaker 1: they don't usually do that much in mini camp. I'm
- 27:10Speaker 1: not saying they haven't at all, but I think that's
- 27:13Speaker 1: more of a training camp thing. I just wonder if
- 27:14Speaker 1: they wanted to, you know, quicken the pace, you know,
- 27:19Speaker 1: get those guys used to communicating. Yeah, yeah, you know
- 27:22Speaker 1: digitally right. It always seems like part of practice, right,
- 27:25Speaker 1: Like that seems like trying and important throughout practice, getting
- 27:28Speaker 1: the like the calls relayed, and yeah, I think that's
- 27:33Speaker 1: relevant I don't know. Yeah, definitely, I mean I mean,
- 27:35Speaker 1: I mean more than relevant. I mean it's something that
- 27:38Speaker 1: if this is a whole new play caller Matt Patricia
- 27:40Speaker 1: is gonna be calling offensive plays, like how does he
- 27:42Speaker 1: do it compare you know, the tempo and whatever. Yeah,
- 27:45Speaker 1: I agree, but I do I want to go back
- 27:46Speaker 1: to one point because I do you guys remember like
- 27:49Speaker 1: in past Mini camps do they usually do they usually
- 27:52Speaker 1: kind of do some live moving the ball because I
- 27:54Speaker 1: don't remember any sessions the last two days where all right, situational,
- 27:59Speaker 1: all right, second and third move the ball up to
- 28:00Speaker 1: hear like they go down the field like it was
- 28:02Speaker 1: just kind of running drools from the same thirty yard line.
- 28:04Speaker 1: I think they're runs. I think it's just all about
- 28:07Speaker 1: we want to get these plays installed and wrapped in. Yeah,
- 28:11Speaker 1: I don't think they do. I don't know, like sequencing
- 28:14Speaker 1: plays or anything where oh they're relaying And I'm not
- 28:16Speaker 1: telling you they don't do it. But I agree with Fred.
- 28:19Speaker 1: I don't think. I don't think they do. I just
- 28:20Speaker 1: I seem to remember last year in Mini camp seeing
- 28:23Speaker 1: Mac get a chance to do some of that stuff
- 28:24Speaker 1: earlier on. I mean maybe I'm confusing it with with
- 28:26Speaker 1: training camp. But um, they well, because he was a rookie,
- 28:30Speaker 1: maybe they just wanted to see him do some of it. Yeah,
- 28:32Speaker 1: just to you know, get an idea of where he is,
- 28:35Speaker 1: um at that point. Yeah, and uh and just kind
- 28:38Speaker 1: of tying it zappy. I mean, no, we we did.
- 28:41Speaker 1: They open with so many little zappie jokes. But I
- 28:43Speaker 1: mean he seems fine. He seems like he knows what
- 28:45Speaker 1: he's doing, Like he doesn't seem in over his head
- 28:47Speaker 1: and anything like that. But to Paul's point, everybody should
- 28:50Speaker 1: he's got a good arm. They will say that he
- 28:52Speaker 1: throws the ball. Well yeah, but I think Toleven's with
- 28:57Speaker 1: the size, that's what. That's what. That's where you need
- 28:59Speaker 1: to see that can manage with the big I don't
- 29:02Speaker 1: know anything about him, but did he run it all
- 29:05Speaker 1: when he was in college? A little bit? A little
- 29:08Speaker 1: bit He had a big run in one of the
- 29:09Speaker 1: games I watched where he just like took off, but
- 29:11Speaker 1: it was a scram because it wasn't because he's pretty thick.
- 29:15Speaker 1: So could you use him as a gadget guy. He's
- 29:17Speaker 1: not like considered to be overly up. No, I think
- 29:20Speaker 1: he's probably like like Mac. He's not like he's gonna
- 29:22Speaker 1: throw the ball. But he's not like the New Orleans guy. No, no, no,
- 29:26Speaker 1: he's like six feet I know, but he's thick. He
- 29:30Speaker 1: would see way like two twenty maybe yeah, okay, so
- 29:33Speaker 1: like he could run the ball. That's what I'm saying.
- 29:35Speaker 1: He's not like but you're you're saying he's a power
- 29:38Speaker 1: running back, not not a power, but like he won't
- 29:42Speaker 1: get hurt if he runs. I don't know. So I
- 29:45Speaker 1: don't know, but I think he's he's like Mac. But
- 29:48Speaker 1: you know, I think it's fine. I mean, they need
- 29:49Speaker 1: another guy and apparently they got one third quarter. I mean,
- 29:52Speaker 1: I i'd put him on the practice squad. I think
- 29:55Speaker 1: the arm is live. I think there's something they had
- 29:57Speaker 1: to work with. Yeah, I would try to keep him.
- 29:58Speaker 1: Probably too small for some I seem to go snaggle,
- 30:02Speaker 1: And I mean, you're run that risk. But what are
- 30:05Speaker 1: you gonna do? You can't you can't put all your
- 30:08Speaker 1: roster together. That's the thing, just that in mind. That's
- 30:11Speaker 1: what's just so hard. And to bring up another guy
- 30:13Speaker 1: time Montgomery, like another guy who just in the mix
- 30:16Speaker 1: out of the backfield receiver doing a lot of different stuff.
- 30:19Speaker 1: It's just how do you how I figure out what's best,
- 30:23Speaker 1: because I think you're gonna have to get rid of
- 30:25Speaker 1: some guys that that are pretty good, maybe at the
- 30:27Speaker 1: running back position, where I mean they just seem stacked.
- 30:30Speaker 1: It's a crowded room. And to Freddi's point, you know,
- 30:34Speaker 1: where does James White fit into that? Is he ready
- 30:37Speaker 1: to go? Is he pup to start training camp? I
- 30:39Speaker 1: think you brought that up on Tuesday, Freddie, Ye where
- 30:42Speaker 1: he falls in? If he's part of this team, someone's
- 30:45Speaker 1: got to go. Is Damien Harris a surprise cut or trade?
- 30:49Speaker 1: I think it would be trade. It wouldn't cut him,
- 30:52Speaker 1: but I wouldn't rull it out. I wouldn't rule anything
- 30:54Speaker 1: out right now. I mean, you look amazing how many
- 30:56Speaker 1: people are talking about that. Oh yeah, you look at
- 30:58Speaker 1: Pierre Strong and Kevin Harris. I mean they both they
- 31:01Speaker 1: both have the look. I mean we didn't really running
- 31:03Speaker 1: back in Ota hard to tell, but they look like
- 31:07Speaker 1: when they carry the ball. They got some I mean
- 31:09Speaker 1: some guys that can carry the ball. And I mean
- 31:12Speaker 1: I think he got at least four of them right now.
- 31:14Speaker 1: JJ Taylor's scooting around once again too, So you love yourself.
- 31:18Speaker 1: I like watching him. I don't know if he's ever
- 31:20Speaker 1: got in any well, if James White stays, he's definitely
- 31:24Speaker 1: I think he's a candidate to go. But Damien Harris,
- 31:28Speaker 1: I'm really intrigued by the amount of people, fans, media,
- 31:33Speaker 1: everybody wondering if he's going to get the Sony Michelle
- 31:36Speaker 1: treatment because he's in the last year of his rookie
- 31:38Speaker 1: deal like Michelle was. And I if Kevin Harris looks
- 31:42Speaker 1: like he could play, would you rule it out? No?
- 31:46Speaker 1: I wouldn't rule it out now. I like the idea
- 31:48Speaker 1: of Damian Harris and Remander Stevenson and that one two punch.
- 31:53Speaker 1: I kind of would like to see Stevenson sort of
- 31:56Speaker 1: get the lead role over Harris a little bit. But
- 31:59Speaker 1: I like both of those guys, and I like the
- 32:01Speaker 1: way that works. Harris is certainly taking advantage of his
- 32:04Speaker 1: Celtics access while he's here, that's for sure. Did you
- 32:08Speaker 1: see the boss man, Oh yeah, in the locker room. Yeah,
- 32:11Speaker 1: he's he's addressing them. How about at the end of
- 32:13Speaker 1: the game, they're showing up behind the scenes under the stadium,
- 32:15Speaker 1: and it comes Robert Kraft walking down there, walking down
- 32:18Speaker 1: the runway. Congratulations the Celtics for winning last night. Did that.
- 32:23Speaker 1: This guy didn't even want like. It's amazing how little
- 32:25Speaker 1: he cares about anything. I was going. I made it
- 32:28Speaker 1: through the whole game. Tremendous performance by the Celtics last year,
- 32:32Speaker 1: by the way, they played really really well for like
- 32:35Speaker 1: forty four minutes. Right, Marcus Smart got a little too
- 32:38Speaker 1: involved in a third quarter for my liking. But I
- 32:40Speaker 1: think he had I think everyone had a good game.
- 32:42Speaker 1: Oh he did have a good game. But he but
- 32:44Speaker 1: he's the reason why Golden Steak cut back in. Yeah,
- 32:46Speaker 1: I started throwing the ball to the wrong team. That's bad. Yeah,
- 32:49Speaker 1: that was bad. I thought I was. I was calling
- 32:51Speaker 1: him pistol pete. I thought Robert Williams was great. Robert
- 32:55Speaker 1: Williams was outstanding. I mean that one block he had.
- 32:57Speaker 1: I mean, yeah, okay, he's got a sore knee, but
- 33:00Speaker 1: he was up there. The timing on his blocks is amazing.
- 33:04Speaker 1: Time lord huh, I love what they call him. Jesus,
- 33:06Speaker 1: What is wrong with you? Why don't you? You can't
- 33:08Speaker 1: even keep up vain interest? If it started earlier, it's
- 33:13Speaker 1: gonna be the eighteenth title. Two more wins, guy, It
- 33:15Speaker 1: is tough. Two more and you're done at eleven thirty.
- 33:18Speaker 1: Not that hardtis yawns coming coming back from the from
- 33:23Speaker 1: the bar, from the bar across the street, drags acid
- 33:26Speaker 1: of the office. But they play again tomorrow night. So
- 33:31Speaker 1: all right, that's finally we get just one night that
- 33:34Speaker 1: throw off. That's the only time. It's the only time
- 33:37Speaker 1: that that there's only one day in between. I've just
- 33:39Speaker 1: been so by the time of our next show, there
- 33:41Speaker 1: is a possibility that the Celtics world champs. Yeah, because
- 33:45Speaker 1: they'll play Sunday right right Friday, Friday, Monday, Friday Monday.
- 33:49Speaker 1: iBOT to win the next give him the Golden State Game,
- 33:52Speaker 1: and then come back here and win because it is
- 33:54Speaker 1: a two two one one one y so went it
- 33:57Speaker 1: here right game six, they went They went to three
- 34:00Speaker 1: two because the Celtics will win in too many titles,
- 34:02Speaker 1: and they had to change it. When the Lakers come,
- 34:04Speaker 1: they made it two three two. I remember those days
- 34:07Speaker 1: after the Celtics one and eighty four is two two
- 34:09Speaker 1: one one one. The next year was the same thing,
- 34:11Speaker 1: Celtics home court over the Lakers. They made it two
- 34:13Speaker 1: three two, and that just that changed the series. So
- 34:16Speaker 1: we're gonna talk more about what we've seen. But NFL
- 34:19Speaker 1: News Cooper cup h like eighty million guaranteed or some
- 34:25Speaker 1: crazy number like that. And you know, to Paul's point,
- 34:27Speaker 1: the cap is crap. Are you are you like relenting
- 34:31Speaker 1: a little now? You know? I mean they obviously you know, um,
- 34:36Speaker 1: it's money. Their owner is Yeah, the owner has a
- 34:40Speaker 1: lot of money and he's willing to spend it. At
- 34:42Speaker 1: some point they're gonna have to make an adjustment for
- 34:44Speaker 1: this stuff. But you know they'll eliminate that loophole. No, oh,
- 34:49Speaker 1: that's the only adjustment that would stop it. If you
- 34:50Speaker 1: want to pay the money, it's always a way to
- 34:52Speaker 1: do it. At some point, the rams are gonna have
- 34:54Speaker 1: to make an adjustment, I'm saying, But for now they
- 34:57Speaker 1: are absolutely going for it. M Aaron Donald, you know,
- 35:01Speaker 1: the highest paid defensive player ever, Well, how do you
- 35:04Speaker 1: you know, how do you fault them? They've got the players,
- 35:06Speaker 1: and if they're keep it, going to spend the money
- 35:09Speaker 1: like term, short terms, Like you've given them big money,
- 35:13Speaker 1: a lot of money. But if you have the cash,
- 35:15Speaker 1: you can do that. They're short term deals. They're not
- 35:18Speaker 1: going to kill you. They're not going to kill you.
- 35:20Speaker 1: And I had UM, I had Matt Morrell put in.
- 35:25Speaker 1: Andrew Brant was on the Pat McAfee show yesterday about
- 35:28Speaker 1: this topic, UM, and he sort of broke down the
- 35:31Speaker 1: cap and Warren Sharp tweeted it out and one of
- 35:34Speaker 1: our listeners knew that it would be like buzzwords for
- 35:37Speaker 1: me and said, this is kind of what the way
- 35:39Speaker 1: Paul talks about the cap all the time. And again,
- 35:41Speaker 1: I've never said it doesn't exist, right, Like, technically it
- 35:44Speaker 1: doesn't exist. I'm just explaining to you why it's different
- 35:47Speaker 1: than the other other leagues with caps. Oh yeah, because
- 35:49Speaker 1: you can do things in the NFL that you can't
- 35:51Speaker 1: do in the NBA area. And it's definitely softer than
- 35:53Speaker 1: the other league. And that's one of the things that
- 35:56Speaker 1: they can do. And Andrew Brandt, who was in the business,
- 36:00Speaker 1: he did this for a living, you know, he explained
- 36:03Speaker 1: that if you have an owner that has the cash,
- 36:06Speaker 1: and you can go cash over cap, and these are
- 36:09Speaker 1: the things that you can do to get around it.
- 36:11Speaker 1: It still exists. No one ever said that there's no
- 36:14Speaker 1: such thing as a cap for the teams that have
- 36:16Speaker 1: a lot of money, right, But there are ways to
- 36:18Speaker 1: get around the cap. Dollars and just keep it, you know,
- 36:21Speaker 1: a low cap number by giving him a lot of money, right,
- 36:24Speaker 1: And we'll be talking about that in twenty twenty six
- 36:26Speaker 1: when Devin mccordy's still on the sale cap and you're
- 36:29Speaker 1: still you know, yeah. I mean, some guys, you know,
- 36:33Speaker 1: do those kinds of things for, like franchise quarterbacks and
- 36:36Speaker 1: wide receivers that have the greatest statistical season in the
- 36:39Speaker 1: history of the league. We do it for you know,
- 36:42Speaker 1: free safety that provide great leadership in the wide room
- 36:46Speaker 1: and in the category of it always works out for
- 36:48Speaker 1: the Patriots. This thing with Deshaun Watson isn't looking good
- 36:52Speaker 1: for him. I mean, I can't can you imagine the
- 36:56Speaker 1: scenario that he plays this year. I mean unless what
- 37:01Speaker 1: we're hearing and I guess the New York Times had
- 37:03Speaker 1: a whole investigation, unless all that is just totally bogus,
- 37:07Speaker 1: I can't imagine he plays. I just like look at it,
- 37:09Speaker 1: like to me that I know this is silly because
- 37:12Speaker 1: I know there's more people coming out, like it's up
- 37:14Speaker 1: to twenty four people filed complaints, and I know that
- 37:18Speaker 1: Time story said there was like sixty six different massages
- 37:22Speaker 1: that he sought out or whatever. To me, the story
- 37:25Speaker 1: hasn't changed I have. I don't think any any more
- 37:30Speaker 1: or less of Watson. But we're getting some details. Yeah,
- 37:33Speaker 1: but I think these details were readily available when it
- 37:36Speaker 1: like he's a creep, he's got an issue. Yeah, I
- 37:39Speaker 1: don't know if that issue means he's a felon. That's
- 37:42Speaker 1: the only thing I don't know. And I still don't know. Yeah,
- 37:46Speaker 1: like I don't. I haven't seen anything that would say, oh, well,
- 37:49Speaker 1: that's the smoking gun he's going to go to prison.
- 37:52Speaker 1: I still haven't seen that. But I've seen plenty enough
- 37:56Speaker 1: for Goodell to say, there's no way in this climate
- 38:00Speaker 1: I can allow this guy to play football without punishment, right,
- 38:04Speaker 1: And I can't imagine he's even gonna play this year.
- 38:06Speaker 1: I mean, I guess, look at with the mijor League
- 38:08Speaker 1: Baseball did to Trevor Bauer. I know, I guess the
- 38:10Speaker 1: solution that people are saying is you just put him
- 38:13Speaker 1: on paid leave until this whole thing is settled, and
- 38:16Speaker 1: that's gonna be at least a year. I mean, how
- 38:19Speaker 1: bad of a mistake might this be for the Cleveland
- 38:22Speaker 1: Oh my god. But I'm also hearing that he used
- 38:26Speaker 1: resources when he was with the Texans in order to
- 38:29Speaker 1: get this stuff done, to create a to set up massages. Yeah,
- 38:35Speaker 1: like that doesn't mean that the Texans knew that he
- 38:38Speaker 1: was doing this. No, but like what like don't you
- 38:41Speaker 1: like what's he doing with massages? What's with massage? Yeah?
- 38:44Speaker 1: Like why does he We've got a person here, why
- 38:47Speaker 1: does he need so many different like Joe? We paid
- 38:51Speaker 1: Joe to do it. Why doesn't he use Joe? Yeah
- 38:54Speaker 1: it's weird. I like, a I cannot see I really yeah,
- 39:01Speaker 1: I can't see a scenario that he plays. I really don't. Yeah,
- 39:04Speaker 1: it's getting harder and I don't know, Like if you
- 39:06Speaker 1: have to know, Florida has been big on the paid
- 39:08Speaker 1: leaf thing, Like can't you just suspend him? Like well
- 39:11Speaker 1: that that what do they call the commissioner's list? Yeah,
- 39:14Speaker 1: they could do that, but I would just suspend him.
- 39:17Speaker 1: Well it's lawyers, Paul, Yeah, there will be lawyers. So
- 39:20Speaker 1: he sues them for you suspended me while okay, until
- 39:24Speaker 1: proven guilty. You know I haven't been. I haven't been.
- 39:27Speaker 1: But you're not suing him for his guilt? No, no, no,
- 39:30Speaker 1: suing him for conduct. He scomes the league if they
- 39:33Speaker 1: don't know no, but I'm suspending I'm sorry, you're right, Yeah,
- 39:36Speaker 1: I'm suspending him, just like I suspended Ben Roethlisberger and
- 39:40Speaker 1: I suspended Ezekiel Elliott. Yeah, who didn't weren't found guilty
- 39:44Speaker 1: in a court of law? If anything, I mean, there's
- 39:47Speaker 1: enough there to Yeah, the commissioner do whatever he wants.
- 39:50Speaker 1: It's in the CBA. You know he can do it,
- 39:53Speaker 1: you know. Yeah. I just who's gonna be the starting
- 39:57Speaker 1: quarterback for the Browns because Field now she's Jacoby Brissett
- 40:01Speaker 1: is going to be their starting quarterback? Browns Browns, Browns
- 40:05Speaker 1: um a boy Tea spot out a great point why
- 40:08Speaker 1: they the Browns can't get rid of h Baker Mayfield.
- 40:11Speaker 1: And he's saying, like, because you know, so many of
- 40:14Speaker 1: the league owners were so mad at the Browns for
- 40:17Speaker 1: the contract they gave to Shaun Watson that no one
- 40:19Speaker 1: wants to step it and help them out right and
- 40:22Speaker 1: get that contract off there. No, I mean, obviously, if
- 40:26Speaker 1: Baker Mayfield was any good someone would would would sign up.
- 40:29Speaker 1: But he's Marginals. You know, he's good enough. But if
- 40:32Speaker 1: you're like, if you're like Seattle, if you're Seattle, you
- 40:35Speaker 1: would say, yeah, he's better than what I got. I'm
- 40:37Speaker 1: gonna see if I can resurrect him. Yeah, but he's
- 40:40Speaker 1: no guarantee that he's gonna be resurrected. So you know,
- 40:44Speaker 1: screw you. You might have an opportunity. Has Cleveland he'll
- 40:47Speaker 1: be back in Cleveland. Well, what do you think? Like
- 40:50Speaker 1: he's good so suspended? What if Cleveland said, you know what, Baker,
- 40:55Speaker 1: you just kidding. You're under contract, You're gonna make nineteen millions.
- 40:58Speaker 1: It's in your best interest to go out and play
- 40:59Speaker 1: well else true, not wrong? Yeah, you know, I mean
- 41:02Speaker 1: I don't see it happening, But I was just like, like,
- 41:06Speaker 1: what a story that would be. They've excused him from
- 41:08Speaker 1: mini camp, so so he wouldn't be hap Like I'm
- 41:12Speaker 1: at their mini camp. Is Watson out there? I don't
- 41:16Speaker 1: know if I know they excused Yeah, he has, but
- 41:23Speaker 1: I think the mini camp is next week. Oh okay,
- 41:25Speaker 1: I'm not pot don't hold me to that again. That's
- 41:27Speaker 1: one of those you know, I know just enough to
- 41:29Speaker 1: get in trouble. Um. But I have seen, like Mike said,
- 41:32Speaker 1: I have seen Watson in Cleveland uniform, which I assume
- 41:35Speaker 1: is part of like OTAs and stuff. Okay, so I've
- 41:38Speaker 1: seen him in Brissette. I don't know if he's going
- 41:40Speaker 1: to be out there now though. Yeah. Wow, all right, um,
- 41:45Speaker 1: lots to talk about. We're gonna take a break. We'll

- 53:36Speaker 1: Copyright twenty twenty. Bank of America Corporation and now great
- 53:42Speaker 1: moment in history. My point of the thing that we
- 53:46Speaker 1: were talking about. Yes, I think it's like you're afraid
- 53:49Speaker 1: to find out something good about mac What what am
- 53:53Speaker 1: I like? I'd like to do some research. We might
- 53:56Speaker 1: actually find out. Oh, sorry, now you want to compare
- 53:58Speaker 1: them to everybody, right, I just want to know if
- 54:00Speaker 1: those blitzed numbers. Well, I'm gonna compare all those numbers
- 54:02Speaker 1: to everybody. Then he's in the thirties, okay, in the
- 54:05Speaker 1: league and most things. But I'd like to know what
- 54:08Speaker 1: this is. Okay, but you don't want to know what
- 54:10Speaker 1: he's like you, I do want to know. But when
- 54:12Speaker 1: we talk about all the other stuffs, what did I
- 54:16Speaker 1: say that, Oh, those aren't good numbers. We talked about
- 54:18Speaker 1: him yesterday and we said those aren't good What all
- 54:22Speaker 1: the all the you know, his passer rating and all
- 54:24Speaker 1: that stuff. The only thing I mentioned yesterday was I
- 54:26Speaker 1: didn't think Houston blitzed a lot. And you just told
- 54:28Speaker 1: me the guy said he flits five times, So I
- 54:30Speaker 1: was right. I didn't think Houston blitzed a lot in
- 54:32Speaker 1: the game. Okay, they didn't, But that now you're changing
- 54:35Speaker 1: the goalposts. I'm not changing any goal posts. You read
- 54:38Speaker 1: off his numbers against the blitz, right, sixty attempts for
- 54:40Speaker 1: three hundred fifty yards. I said, those aren't great numbers.
- 54:42Speaker 1: I don't know if they are. I'm telling you it's not.
- 54:45Speaker 1: So you know what the numbers. I don't care what
- 54:48Speaker 1: anybody else does. Three hundred and fifty yards on sixty
- 54:51Speaker 1: attempts is not against the blitz. I'd like to know
- 54:53Speaker 1: what the averages are. I'm just telling you it's not
- 54:56Speaker 1: good for Matt Jones. That's all I'm saying. I don't
- 55:00Speaker 1: know what anybody else did, but you need to another
- 55:02Speaker 1: to come. No one has been blitzed as much as
- 55:04Speaker 1: he has. Okay, but right be couldn't he say that
- 55:07Speaker 1: no one got blitzen Jones? Yeah, so he got blitzed
- 55:09Speaker 1: sixty five times. The next guy might have been sixty four.
- 55:13Speaker 1: Like I'd like to know. You can't then look it
- 55:15Speaker 1: up for it if you want to know. I don't
- 55:17Speaker 1: care spouting all this stuff up with that. I'm not
- 55:19Speaker 1: spouting anything. All I said was I didn't think Houston
- 55:22Speaker 1: blitzed a lot. And then the guy wrote in to
- 55:24Speaker 1: say they always find that one thing, but we're talking
- 55:27Speaker 1: about overall. Forget you would hang up. Not mine's not
- 55:30Speaker 1: a hang up. I just want to I don't know.
- 55:33Speaker 1: I just want to know. Then look it up. I
- 55:35Speaker 1: don't care. That's what I pay you for. I don't
- 55:38Speaker 1: have a subscription to PF. Oh my god, that's another
- 55:42Speaker 1: great moment from So I just got caught in a
- 55:47Speaker 1: lie there. Oh yeah, you got us a subscription to
- 55:50Speaker 1: Prue and I said I didn't have one. I forgot
- 55:53Speaker 1: um speaking of it. Yeah, so I have that. I said,
- 55:56Speaker 1: I didn't reorder those weekly things. But you do have
- 56:00Speaker 1: access to the advanced stats and all that. Yeah. Excellent, Yeah, yeah,
- 56:06Speaker 1: another piece of the puzzle. That was a good argument
- 56:08Speaker 1: right there. That was good. I was wondered me and
- 56:10Speaker 1: Eric were even there. Oh, I just kept hearing Eric
- 56:12Speaker 1: in the backers are not good, Bob. Eric's like, I
- 56:16Speaker 1: don't miss that at all. Do you think how have
- 56:19Speaker 1: we heard from Eric? No? No, and I don't really
- 56:21Speaker 1: expect to. No. He thought he was better than us
- 56:24Speaker 1: when he was here. I assume he thinks he's better
- 56:26Speaker 1: than us now. Yeah, but like to rub it in, Hey,
- 56:28Speaker 1: I'm sitting on a beach in a Ruba. You know,
- 56:31Speaker 1: I was a little bit, uh, a little bit weird
- 56:34Speaker 1: without him at the last couple of days being up
- 56:36Speaker 1: on the ramps. I agree, not doing you know, the
- 56:38Speaker 1: doing attendants and stuff like that. I do. I agree,
- 56:42Speaker 1: that's the first time. I mean, I really, I know.
- 56:44Speaker 1: I know we're watching football. We enjoy that, But a
- 56:46Speaker 1: lot of the real fun is just the stupid nonsense
- 56:48Speaker 1: that we talked about during and Eric was was you know,
- 56:51Speaker 1: as much involved in the stupid nonsense and the impressions
- 56:54Speaker 1: as anybody's. Well, we should say that there's a job
- 56:57Speaker 1: posting for a writer staff rider Deuce. You're acquiring a person,
- 57:02Speaker 1: and yeah, you know, hopefully it'll be someone we can
- 57:04Speaker 1: make a lot of fun of. I know, hopefully somebody
- 57:06Speaker 1: will make a lot of fun of the personality if
- 57:08Speaker 1: you know how to write. You know, the Patriots and
- 57:10Speaker 1: you and you got a sense of humor and apply.
- 57:13Speaker 1: But I don't think it's just writing like they you know,
- 57:15Speaker 1: they might be on this show. They could well, they
- 57:18Speaker 1: could do absolutely well. I know, I've been kind of
- 57:22Speaker 1: thinking about it, and I mean, this is what you
- 57:23Speaker 1: said to me when you hired me. It is like,
- 57:25Speaker 1: you know, you got to write. That's that's got to
- 57:26Speaker 1: be the baseline, and that's the foundation and for the job,
- 57:29Speaker 1: that will be the foundation. Um, but I mean as
- 57:33Speaker 1: somebody who loves to write and feels the urge to write,
- 57:36Speaker 1: you know, it's it's that that's a that's a key
- 57:37Speaker 1: part of the start, you know, where you go from
- 57:39Speaker 1: there into video, into social onto this show and everything
- 57:43Speaker 1: else that could be remained to be seen. But you
- 57:45Speaker 1: know the baseline of it will be you got to
- 57:47Speaker 1: come in. You gotta be able to write and and
- 57:49Speaker 1: hang with us and and all that. We'll see where
- 57:51Speaker 1: I agree with the way Mike says that that's got
- 57:53Speaker 1: to be the baseline. Like a lot of people are, oh,
- 57:54Speaker 1: I love the Patriot, I've been Patriots fan. Do you write?
- 57:58Speaker 1: We assume that, we assume you you enjoy sports. And
- 58:02Speaker 1: I remember going to a symposium when I was in
- 58:05Speaker 1: high school, and um, the gentleman that was speaking was
- 58:10Speaker 1: going around, you know, why do you want to be
- 58:12Speaker 1: a sports writer? And kid raises his hands like, well,
- 58:14Speaker 1: you know, I've just been in love with sports since
- 58:17Speaker 1: the day I was born. I was like, he goes,
- 58:19Speaker 1: but why do you want to be a sports writer? Right?
- 58:21Speaker 1: And there was crickets it'd be better to say I've
- 58:23Speaker 1: loved writing from the day, right, yes, yeah, you know,
- 58:27Speaker 1: I think it's both like I enjoyed writing and I
- 58:30Speaker 1: enjoy sports, right, you know, and I mean you know
- 58:32Speaker 1: you I mean Paul traditional sense of newspaper and that
- 58:36Speaker 1: kind of background. I'm completely the opposite. But you know,
- 58:39Speaker 1: at a certain point, you feel like you have something
- 58:41Speaker 1: to say and something that you want to write. And
- 58:44Speaker 1: you know that has never gone away from me of
- 58:46Speaker 1: you know, watching a practice or you know, hearing an
- 58:48Speaker 1: interview with somebody. I have something to say about the team.
- 58:51Speaker 1: So you want somebody who has something to say and
- 58:53Speaker 1: has a way to express it with writing. So yeah,
- 58:56Speaker 1: you know, there's a lot of podcasters and people like
- 58:59Speaker 1: that that that have been a flying but I think
- 59:01Speaker 1: the writing part is you know, I haven't seen quite
- 59:03Speaker 1: enough of that, and the more the better. So okayah,
- 59:06Speaker 1: come on down, Yeah, all right? Five five Pat's five
- 59:10Speaker 1: hundred is the ace ticket hot line. Web radio at
- 59:13Speaker 1: Patriots dot com is the email address. Uh got a
- 59:17Speaker 1: lot of emails coming in. Let's so let's turn to
- 59:20Speaker 1: Let's go to the phones. Todd's in Greenville, North Carolina.
- 59:23Speaker 1: What's up, Todd? A good afternoon. I'm glad for your coverage.
- 59:27Speaker 1: I appreciate it. I kind of wish you guys it's
- 59:29Speaker 1: not get an extra show yes a week two. Well yesterday,
- 59:32Speaker 1: I you know, we purposely wanted one day off from
- 59:35Speaker 1: the Live Chelsea they could just absorb a lot of specially,
- 59:38Speaker 1: and then today got canceled. So I knew that that
- 59:40Speaker 1: was a possibility, you know, but that's especially when they
- 59:44Speaker 1: stayed out there so long yesterday. Yeah, I thought that
- 59:46Speaker 1: was a chance. Yeah, that's what I thought. Yeah, it's okay.
- 59:48Speaker 1: You know what, I'm really interested in the review of
- 59:51Speaker 1: Train Nixon. What's his faith? Lazar said that he's got
- 59:55Speaker 1: more his measurables are more NFL ready than say, some
- 1:00:00Speaker 1: of the other things. And yet today you guys said
- 1:00:01Speaker 1: that he doesn't even measure up to Jacoby Myers. So
- 1:00:04Speaker 1: it's kind of wondering why such a conflict in your opinions.
- 1:00:07Speaker 1: He said, it's measurable, you mean, like Tis height way,
- 1:00:11Speaker 1: his speed is more NFL ready than some of the
- 1:00:15Speaker 1: other receivers, but like who train Nixon? And and then
- 1:00:18Speaker 1: this morning you guys said that he just doesn't have
- 1:00:20Speaker 1: the bulk or the sustainability to you know, maintain. I
- 1:00:23Speaker 1: didn't say he doesn't have it. I didn't say that
- 1:00:25Speaker 1: at all. I said I'm curious to see if he
- 1:00:28Speaker 1: can hold up catching eighty five passes over the middle
- 1:00:31Speaker 1: the way Jacoby Myers has the last two years. Yeah,
- 1:00:33Speaker 1: I didn't see he can't physiques too. Though he's small,
- 1:00:36Speaker 1: he's smaller than Yeah, he's smaller than Jacobe. But I
- 1:00:39Speaker 1: think he's got He's probably got a little more shimmy
- 1:00:41Speaker 1: to him in a little maybe a little bit more
- 1:00:43Speaker 1: d speed. But they're there, but there. I don't think
- 1:00:44Speaker 1: there's any question. I agree with you whole hardly, Mike,
- 1:00:47Speaker 1: as I offer the money. So, okay, so the Lazarre
- 1:00:50Speaker 1: said he's over six feet tall? Is he? I mean
- 1:00:54Speaker 1: maybe a shade he's he's about six feet Okay, Yeah,
- 1:00:58Speaker 1: so that's that rops. Next question's listed here. It's probably
- 1:01:01Speaker 1: about six two On the internet, it says six ft
- 1:01:05Speaker 1: one eighty seven. What's jacobe question? That's small ship, But
- 1:01:10Speaker 1: that's fine. Like if he's gonna be a slot receiver,
- 1:01:12Speaker 1: it's plenty big enough to be a slot receiver. Yeah,
- 1:01:14Speaker 1: oh yeah, yeah, like seedee lamb right, pretty good? Yeah, long, Yeah,
- 1:01:18Speaker 1: he's like one game seventy. Yeah, you know he's probably
- 1:01:22Speaker 1: six two sixty three. Yeah, so this one more quickly,
- 1:01:27Speaker 1: seed Lamb is six two one. What's Jakobe? Can you
- 1:01:32Speaker 1: give me? Jakobe? I'm sorry, hate asking you to do
- 1:01:33Speaker 1: stuff making him tight. Just you could keep talking, go
- 1:01:39Speaker 1: ahead to talk, get it, okay? I know, no, no, no,
- 1:01:42Speaker 1: you guys are excited. This is the best. This is
- 1:01:44Speaker 1: the summer duldrum for football. And yeah, you guys got prashion.
- 1:01:47Speaker 1: It is what we live for. Yes, next week we
- 1:01:50Speaker 1: get it one of Star Wars and Stranger six two
- 1:01:52Speaker 1: two one. Yeah, Jacobe markedly bigger. Yeah, it's a couple
- 1:01:57Speaker 1: inches and fifteen pounds every year. Ye? Is there any
- 1:02:00Speaker 1: chance that we suffered from leadership issues on both side
- 1:02:03Speaker 1: of the ball from players standpoint, Like you lose Brady
- 1:02:06Speaker 1: who took over on offense and who was leading the defense?
- 1:02:09Speaker 1: List here it was nobody maybe Jude on and he
- 1:02:13Speaker 1: you know, he's starting this year strong. But I didn't
- 1:02:15Speaker 1: feel like we had somebody who you could say, hey,
- 1:02:18Speaker 1: look they're playing on their field and they're backing up
- 1:02:20Speaker 1: what they're saying and vice versa, and they're there. This
- 1:02:23Speaker 1: is who's rallying our offense, and this is who's rallying.
- 1:02:26Speaker 1: I don't. I didn't think we had that, man. I
- 1:02:28Speaker 1: think that's why last year McDaniels was so important because
- 1:02:31Speaker 1: he kind of, you know, kept the offense going. So
- 1:02:34Speaker 1: I'll take that answer up there. Thanks, all right, thanks.
- 1:02:36Speaker 1: I'm not sure what the question was, but I mean
- 1:02:37Speaker 1: I think it's Mac. I mean Mac, I mean, and
- 1:02:40Speaker 1: you know he's a rookie. Last year, you don't ask
- 1:02:42Speaker 1: a rookie to come in and take that, but he
- 1:02:44Speaker 1: seized it. As we talked about defensively, that's another question.
- 1:02:47Speaker 1: I mean, you have Devin mccordy, Juwan Bentley, but it's
- 1:02:51Speaker 1: a work in progress. You don't really know that a
- 1:02:52Speaker 1: lot of guys rotating, it's hard to really get a
- 1:02:55Speaker 1: beat on the defense. This is unbelievable. So I just
- 1:02:58Speaker 1: I need to get a little bit of an aside here.
- 1:03:01Speaker 1: So I had a question in last week's mail bag
- 1:03:04Speaker 1: from someone who is really disappointed that we no longer
- 1:03:08Speaker 1: provide transcripts of the interviews of players on pages dot com, which,
- 1:03:13Speaker 1: as you can tell, Fred have been around since the
- 1:03:17Speaker 1: advent of the website. We've never done We've never ever
- 1:03:20Speaker 1: consistently provided transcripts of player interviews other than the quarterback
- 1:03:26Speaker 1: and the coach. Player player interviews. Okay, so we had
- 1:03:33Speaker 1: a guy who wrote in a very well thought out
- 1:03:35Speaker 1: long you know, it was long, but it was detailed,
- 1:03:39Speaker 1: and I explained to him that we've never done that
- 1:03:42Speaker 1: and why we've never done it because it's impossible because
- 1:03:45Speaker 1: we can't shoot all of the emails. We can't shoot
- 1:03:48Speaker 1: all of the interviews in order to be able to
- 1:03:51Speaker 1: have them available. I said, when we had COVID in
- 1:03:54Speaker 1: the pandemic, there were a lot of these player interviews
- 1:03:57Speaker 1: that were conducted via zoom calls, so we were able
- 1:04:01Speaker 1: to put those up on the website as videos, but
- 1:04:04Speaker 1: not transcripts. We've never done transcripts of player interviews and
- 1:04:10Speaker 1: posted them on pages dot com, largely because we don't
- 1:04:14Speaker 1: have access to him. Like when I'm in the locker
- 1:04:17Speaker 1: room or Mike's in the locker room and he might
- 1:04:19Speaker 1: be talking to Dietrich twice and I might be talking
- 1:04:22Speaker 1: to Devin mccordy. I'm not there the whole time of
- 1:04:26Speaker 1: an interview. You're bouncing around, maybe doing five six different
- 1:04:30Speaker 1: guys one day. Whatever. You're looking for a quote for
- 1:04:34Speaker 1: something specific that you use, right, So I explained this
- 1:04:38Speaker 1: to him, and I haven't heard back from that guy.
- 1:04:41Speaker 1: By the way, it was ce Rigby was the guy's name.
- 1:04:44Speaker 1: It was a very well thought out email and it
- 1:04:46Speaker 1: was not overly critical. But one of the things that
- 1:04:49Speaker 1: he wanted that he went to say was the reason
- 1:04:53Speaker 1: he likes the transcripts is because he likes to see
- 1:04:56Speaker 1: what they say for himself, so he can understand when
- 1:05:00Speaker 1: media twists the words. Okay, but but he can't he
- 1:05:04Speaker 1: doesn't have the bandwidth to listen to it. He's in
- 1:05:07Speaker 1: a in a remote area, so like physically a lot
- 1:05:11Speaker 1: of times that time of his metal band Yeah yeah, no, no, no,
- 1:05:15Speaker 1: a physically connection. I think I took the true meaning.
- 1:05:20Speaker 1: I took it that he's in in a remote like
- 1:05:22Speaker 1: rural area and he doesn't have enough bandwidth. But but
- 1:05:26Speaker 1: this wasn't he's looking for transcripts, okay. So in my explanation,
- 1:05:31Speaker 1: I explained to him that, in addition to all the
- 1:05:34Speaker 1: reasons why we can't provide transcripts, that no player in
- 1:05:40Speaker 1: my twenty plus years here has ever complained to us
- 1:05:43Speaker 1: that we've portrayed his words incorrectly. And I am telling
- 1:05:47Speaker 1: you zero point zero, I've never heard a player since
- 1:05:52Speaker 1: I've been here, complained that he was misquoted, misrepresented, or
- 1:05:57Speaker 1: you know, miscategorized in any way, shape or form. I said,
- 1:06:01Speaker 1: I understand. And so this guy and this is like,
- 1:06:04Speaker 1: not the guy who wrote the email. This is a
- 1:06:06Speaker 1: different another guy. He says. The entire paragraph that he
- 1:06:10Speaker 1: wrote was about how they wanted to be able to
- 1:06:11Speaker 1: read interviews posted, not see them. You wrote your reply,
- 1:06:15Speaker 1: I understand your desire to see an interview for yourself, okay,
- 1:06:19Speaker 1: meaning the transcript, but whatever saying you understand when you're
- 1:06:24Speaker 1: not even reading the questions. There's a lot about how
- 1:06:26Speaker 1: you approach your fans. They never asked for more videos.
- 1:06:29Speaker 1: They specifically said they couldn't watch your videos. Your paragraph
- 1:06:32Speaker 1: long response just steamrolls overseas question and only talks about
- 1:06:36Speaker 1: why there can't be more videos posted. That's not what
- 1:06:39Speaker 1: I said, But that's okay, just the fact that some
- 1:06:44Speaker 1: do you know what a transcript is? Who edits this?
- 1:06:47Speaker 1: This is like the how like, this is how they
- 1:06:49Speaker 1: respond to a question when you're explaining why you can't
- 1:06:52Speaker 1: provide what they're looking for, right, This is how they do.
- 1:06:56Speaker 1: And it's not the person who asked the question. By
- 1:06:58Speaker 1: the way, which again was very well thought out, well
- 1:07:02Speaker 1: written question, which is why I included it, by the way,
- 1:07:05Speaker 1: in the mail bag, like this is what you deal with, right?
- 1:07:09Speaker 1: So was that a question for the mail bag I
- 1:07:11Speaker 1: should use this week? Should I answer that? So? Just
- 1:07:14Speaker 1: out of curiosity, how do you read a transcript and
- 1:07:19Speaker 1: find out what the guy meant? But you can't read
- 1:07:23Speaker 1: the quote to find out what a guy meant? Right,
- 1:07:26Speaker 1: how do you know that the person is accurate? Right?
- 1:07:30Speaker 1: I'll go back to Bill Parcels And the guy was
- 1:07:32Speaker 1: a madonna? You remember that? No, remember it was he
- 1:07:36Speaker 1: was he was a primadonna called the guy to know
- 1:07:39Speaker 1: he called it a primadonna. Right. Our transcriber wrote pre
- 1:07:43Speaker 1: wrote pre madonna, right right, right, and that was they
- 1:07:50Speaker 1: They corrected it, but it was funny that day. But
- 1:07:52Speaker 1: like generally, as you know, I let like the you know,
- 1:07:58Speaker 1: call me fat, call me whatever, you know, you know whatever,
- 1:08:01Speaker 1: I don't. I don't care, like I usually let all
- 1:08:04Speaker 1: that crap go. But when you so grossly misrepresent what
- 1:08:07Speaker 1: I answered in this question to the to the point
- 1:08:10Speaker 1: where you're saying not being disrespectful right to a reader,
- 1:08:13Speaker 1: I got to address that. Okay, Wow, you just proved
- 1:08:17Speaker 1: you don't care enough about people who take the time
- 1:08:19Speaker 1: continuing the questions to do more than nice job, Champ.
- 1:08:23Speaker 1: That's what you're right, Champion. I'm not your champ. Hey, scout, Yeah,
- 1:08:31Speaker 1: let's go Chief Dan rights And for the love of God,
- 1:08:34Speaker 1: this is um he's on Deuce's case. For the love
- 1:08:38Speaker 1: of God, can you please stop saying plus every other sentence?
- 1:08:42Speaker 1: I know, I got your tweet, I got your like
- 1:08:45Speaker 1: twice like let it go. Sorry you had to hear
- 1:08:48Speaker 1: me say plus a few too many times. Not only that,
- 1:08:51Speaker 1: but in addition to as well as plus. Oh sorry,
- 1:08:58Speaker 1: uh that's great. No, thanks, thanks. Oh we do talk
- 1:09:01Speaker 1: about Disney plus a lot. Um. Let's see. Goodday all.
- 1:09:10Speaker 1: Jake from Bendigo, Australia. Is everyone enjoying being back at
- 1:09:14Speaker 1: practice watching some low key football? And are you setting
- 1:09:17Speaker 1: up a cute little picnic while you're watching? I wish
- 1:09:20Speaker 1: we had a picnic. We had no food. No, I
- 1:09:22Speaker 1: didn't get to watch any practice on Tuesday, so it
- 1:09:25Speaker 1: was awesome to hear you reel off the place. Thank you.
- 1:09:28Speaker 1: One last thing, chasing some words of wisdom inspiration for
- 1:09:31Speaker 1: my flag football team. Um, we have to win to
- 1:09:34Speaker 1: take anything from Mike. Yeah we're through to the playoffs
- 1:09:38Speaker 1: game or the local league next week. Well, good luck,
- 1:09:40Speaker 1: good luck. You know, make some adjustments. That's all I
- 1:09:43Speaker 1: can say. And don't go against Troy Brown. Don't ignore
- 1:09:45Speaker 1: your special teams. Don't ignore your special teams, that's for sure.
- 1:09:49Speaker 1: And and something I didn't think of. I'm kind of
- 1:09:51Speaker 1: mad at myself in retrospect because I'm like, why did
- 1:09:53Speaker 1: we keep throwing it to that kid? I should have adjusted.
- 1:09:56Speaker 1: I should have adjusted. I did not make enough. Coach.
- 1:09:58Speaker 1: I will say, though, if you're in the layoff, screw
- 1:10:00Speaker 1: the hole. Everybody gets to play. Go for the wind.
- 1:10:04Speaker 1: I did that for It was funny too. I mean
- 1:10:06Speaker 1: it was so good that one of the kids on
- 1:10:08Speaker 1: my team, you know, my son's Campbell, was like, you're
- 1:10:10Speaker 1: not taking Campbell out today? Right that he had a
- 1:10:12Speaker 1: kid on the team didn't want Campbell out of the
- 1:10:14Speaker 1: game because he's a quarterback. He's the quarterback on the Wind. Yeah,
- 1:10:17Speaker 1: yeah at it. So does he have a future you
- 1:10:20Speaker 1: think in the sport. He loves it. He loves it.
- 1:10:23Speaker 1: I mean you watch him and we're trying to stay
- 1:10:26Speaker 1: away from that right now, but no, he loves it.
- 1:10:28Speaker 1: He just loves throwing the football. And I mean he
- 1:10:30Speaker 1: just has to look like one of the other coaches
- 1:10:32Speaker 1: came watch Geez, Campbell looks like Aaron Rodgers out there.
- 1:10:34Speaker 1: But I mean he was the only reason we were
- 1:10:36Speaker 1: able to hang in there was because he can he
- 1:10:38Speaker 1: can throw. He can throw downfield. And you know, their
- 1:10:40Speaker 1: team was good and was kind of hanging back, but
- 1:10:42Speaker 1: he was, you know, picking him apart a little bit,
- 1:10:43Speaker 1: dropped a couple of touchdowns, but I don't know, we'll see,
- 1:10:46Speaker 1: We'll see. He enjoys it. So it's like it's content,
- 1:10:48Speaker 1: let's go throw. Let's go throw a football, you know,
- 1:10:50Speaker 1: and he wants to like, he wants like the play
- 1:10:52Speaker 1: wrist band like he just wants to like for time
- 1:10:54Speaker 1: one and the and the the little the pouch that
- 1:10:58Speaker 1: ten ten ten, Yeah, fourth grade Addison. At that time,
- 1:11:03Speaker 1: Brady had a throwing coach. Yeah, Addison. And Fred's note,
- 1:11:07Speaker 1: thanks for your discussion of collegiate softball. I found, I
- 1:11:11Speaker 1: found my new favorite sport. Asked for my question Oklahoma
- 1:11:14Speaker 1: is too good? Though? Unfortunately, Yeah, I was wondering if
- 1:11:18Speaker 1: Mike had another semi famous family member relative. I was
- 1:11:22Speaker 1: using a program called Solid Works because I'm a nerd
- 1:11:25Speaker 1: and I noticed Douseau Systems when I was loading it up.
- 1:11:28Speaker 1: I've seen that. Yeah, there's another mic do So that's uh,
- 1:11:31Speaker 1: that's like a programming guy. I know there is one
- 1:11:33Speaker 1: out there. Oh yeah, yeah, not I have seen Doau
- 1:11:37Speaker 1: Systems though, I've seen that logo. There's also an airplane
- 1:11:39Speaker 1: company I think, but it's d A s Sault So.
- 1:11:43Speaker 1: But we're all related. We all go back to the
- 1:11:44Speaker 1: same in Quebec City. Yeah, way back one your frontierman
- 1:11:48Speaker 1: fur traders exactly, Fred exactly, up and down, up and
- 1:11:51Speaker 1: down the Saint Lawrence with the boats and the trading
- 1:11:54Speaker 1: with the natives and everything. That's uh big ancestry nerd. Two,
- 1:11:57Speaker 1: that's where you came from. Quebec City. That put that
- 1:11:59Speaker 1: part of the the family for sure. Uh. Sam in Toronto,
- 1:12:03Speaker 1: I've been seeing some buzz here and there. Just curious
- 1:12:06Speaker 1: if you guys think Trey Nixon will have a better
- 1:12:08Speaker 1: season this year than more Maurice Harris did in twenty nineteen.
- 1:12:13Speaker 1: Maurice Harris, I don't even remember him, is that one
- 1:12:15Speaker 1: of our guys. Maurice Harris's kind of an odd was
- 1:12:21Speaker 1: he like another seventh Round pick or something or um.
- 1:12:25Speaker 1: I want to guess that's what's the If I had
- 1:12:27Speaker 1: to guess right now for Trey Nixon, I would say
- 1:12:29Speaker 1: he's on the practice squad, But I definitely think there's
- 1:12:33Speaker 1: a possibility that he could be more than that. That's
- 1:12:36Speaker 1: but Maurice Harris, is he the guy that was like
- 1:12:39Speaker 1: from my from Washington? I have no idea. I'm blank,
- 1:12:43Speaker 1: and I gotta hope that Trey Nixon can do more
- 1:12:45Speaker 1: than a guy we've never even heard of. Maurice Harris.
- 1:12:49Speaker 1: He was on Washington so wide receiver that was on watch.
- 1:12:52Speaker 1: Oh was that the guy? He can't? He was just
- 1:12:54Speaker 1: here for camp sixteen seventeen eighteen with Washington. He had
- 1:12:59Speaker 1: his last in Washington eighteen twenty eight catches with Randering
- 1:13:02Speaker 1: four yards. I think he was just with camp. But
- 1:13:05Speaker 1: why the comparison to him, I don't know. I think
- 1:13:08Speaker 1: probably a million guys like him. I think he just
- 1:13:10Speaker 1: I think he just had to camp him. I think so.
- 1:13:14Speaker 1: I think so. But that was that nineteen year where
- 1:13:17Speaker 1: he kind of needed a little to find something at
- 1:13:20Speaker 1: the receiver position and maybe a catch or two. But Dana,
- 1:13:26Speaker 1: Virginia and Michigan from what Paul was saying about Myers
- 1:13:29Speaker 1: and his injury status and his contract status compared to
- 1:13:32Speaker 1: other players. How many games does Myers play for the
- 1:13:35Speaker 1: Patriots in twenty twenty two? What about twenty twenty three,
- 1:13:39Speaker 1: seventeen and zero? Yeah, I'd probably be around the same.
- 1:13:42Speaker 1: I mean, I think that's that's if Trey Nixon is
- 1:13:44Speaker 1: a legitimate inside receiving option, uh, that that could signal
- 1:13:49Speaker 1: the end for Jacobe maybe here, But I don't. I
- 1:13:51Speaker 1: don't think it's the case they're going to move on
- 1:13:53Speaker 1: from him immediately. Yeah. I don't either. When I was
- 1:13:56Speaker 1: listening to Tuesday's show, every time you mentioned Thornton, my
- 1:13:59Speaker 1: reflex was to think Jerry Thornton, which provided quite the
- 1:14:01Speaker 1: mental image of him out there running routes and being
- 1:14:04Speaker 1: a gunner. Yeah, he's out there on the sidelines yesterday. Yeah,
- 1:14:08Speaker 1: it would didn't you know. I liked that Thornton was
- 1:14:12Speaker 1: getting some reps. I don't think that there was anything
- 1:14:14Speaker 1: that he did that necessarily gave you this oh oh.
- 1:14:17Speaker 1: It just seems like he's working in like Paul mentioned,
- 1:14:21Speaker 1: a little underneath routes. He's catching what's kind of thrown.
- 1:14:23Speaker 1: But there's nothing like oh boy, I mean, you read
- 1:14:26Speaker 1: about all the oh boy plays, he wasn't. I mean,
- 1:14:30Speaker 1: I think we're all just kind of waiting for him
- 1:14:31Speaker 1: to be on the outside and maybe he runs the
- 1:14:34Speaker 1: double movie. He did have a you know, and he
- 1:14:37Speaker 1: unlike Trey Nixon, he was mostly with secondary groups as well.
- 1:14:40Speaker 1: But he did have one deep ball that he got
- 1:14:42Speaker 1: well behind the coverage and Brian Hoyer under throw him.
- 1:14:46Speaker 1: He caught it, but he had to wait for it
- 1:14:47Speaker 1: and come back. It was I think that was on
- 1:14:52Speaker 1: Tuesday playing gunner too. Oh yeah, that's that's relevant. He's
- 1:14:56Speaker 1: getting some work with Slater and beth Uh trying to
- 1:15:01Speaker 1: learn how to get a role on special teams. If
- 1:15:03Speaker 1: you're going to be the fifth receiver, Fred, you got
- 1:15:05Speaker 1: to learn how to plash now. But like Doo still
- 1:15:07Speaker 1: get this reference. I just see him as a gunner
- 1:15:10Speaker 1: and ending up like one of those kids on Stranger
- 1:15:13Speaker 1: Things that the guy just cracks all his bones. It's
- 1:15:16Speaker 1: too skinny. I know. Well, if you can get down
- 1:15:19Speaker 1: the field, but I mean any way, you can make
- 1:15:21Speaker 1: the team. And I think that's that's the that's the point,
- 1:15:23Speaker 1: and that's the point too with Nixon special teams. Does
- 1:15:25Speaker 1: he do anything on special teams. I don't think I've
- 1:15:27Speaker 1: ever seen him do anything. I don't know, but I
- 1:15:30Speaker 1: meant has to make the team. Oh yeah, yeah yeah.
- 1:15:34Speaker 1: But then you get him active and David has a game. Um,
- 1:15:40Speaker 1: I'll give the three players that were the leaders in
- 1:15:43Speaker 1: receiving yards, rushing yards and sacks for the Patriots in
- 1:15:45Speaker 1: a given season. You have to name the year. Oh,
- 1:15:48Speaker 1: I'm not good at those, matching up the individual year. Yeah,
- 1:15:51Speaker 1: I'm not good at these. Later maning on you here,
- 1:15:56Speaker 1: So leader and rushing, receiving and sacks Dion Branch, Corey Dillon,
- 1:16:03Speaker 1: and Roosevelt Colvin four wrong? Right? Oh you just said
- 1:16:11Speaker 1: leader in rushing Dion Branch. No, I said these are
- 1:16:15Speaker 1: the people that were leaders in rushing, receiving, in sacks. Okay,
- 1:16:19Speaker 1: it's Deon Branch, who else, Corey Dillon and Roosevelt Colvin.
- 1:16:23Speaker 1: It's not four, It's got to be five. Five, is correct? See.
- 1:16:27Speaker 1: I think you should do it the other way. It's
- 1:16:29Speaker 1: like it would be hard to the same you know
- 1:16:31Speaker 1: five who were the leaders in those character Anyway, we'll
- 1:16:34Speaker 1: play along. Rob Gronkowski, La Garrett Blunt and Chandler Jones
- 1:16:40Speaker 1: fourteen wrong? Thirteen fifteen fifteen. It's one of those three. Um,
- 1:16:45Speaker 1: Sean Jefferson, Curtis Martin and Chris Slade. Oh wrong, Um,
- 1:16:55Speaker 1: why are you yelling at us? We told you this
- 1:16:57Speaker 1: is not my strong suit. Wes Welker and Jarvis green
- 1:17:00Speaker 1: Ellis Mike Wright. Oh eight twenty ten ten is correct.
- 1:17:07Speaker 1: Julian Edelman, Sony Michelle and Trey Flowers. Uh eighteen is correct. Hey,
- 1:17:15Speaker 1: I got one. Irvy Friar, John Vaughan and Andre Tippett. Oh.
- 1:17:20Speaker 1: John Vaughan six No. Eighty eight eight nine two nd
- 1:17:27Speaker 1: Friar was still hitter in nine. Terry Glenn, Kevin Falk,
- 1:17:32Speaker 1: William mc ginnis and Greg Spires. Terry Terry Glenn, Kevin
- 1:17:37Speaker 1: Falk ninety nine, two thousand and two thousand is correct.
- 1:17:43Speaker 1: Wes Welker, Sammy Morris and Richard Seymour Oh wait, oh
- 1:17:49Speaker 1: wait is correct? Good? I got two? Yeah, I suck
- 1:17:54Speaker 1: at that game, though. I've a disgrace to the Trivia family.
- 1:17:58Speaker 1: You know that you know the area though with the eyes,
- 1:18:00Speaker 1: I mean it's yeah, but then you're within three years.
- 1:18:02Speaker 1: But they were I mean yeah, I mean they had
- 1:18:03Speaker 1: to only be a certain amount of it, right, It
- 1:18:05Speaker 1: has to be when they were here. Yeah, right, it'll
- 1:18:08Speaker 1: be a lot harder, like two thousand and two. Like
- 1:18:10Speaker 1: if you had said the other way, I wouldn't. I
- 1:18:12Speaker 1: would have probably had more fun guessing. Yeah, would have
- 1:18:15Speaker 1: been hard, Yeah, Ramona Tampa. Three questions I recently wondered one, Paul,
- 1:18:22Speaker 1: if you could have one non celebrity media person career,
- 1:18:26Speaker 1: who would it be? Non media person career? Who would
- 1:18:30Speaker 1: non media celebrity? Is that what is? Yeah? Non celebrity
- 1:18:35Speaker 1: media person career. So if I could toiling obscurity, who
- 1:18:40Speaker 1: would you want to be? I think if you asked
- 1:18:42Speaker 1: me what I would want to do for a living
- 1:18:44Speaker 1: other than be famous, Yeah, a media person. But could
- 1:18:49Speaker 1: you be like a quarterback? No, well, I think that
- 1:18:52Speaker 1: would be like a celebrity. But he says non celebrity
- 1:18:56Speaker 1: media person. Oh so it's like not like not Adam Schefter, right,
- 1:19:01Speaker 1: who would you consider him a celebrity media person? Like
- 1:19:04Speaker 1: I thought he meant non celebrity Aaron Andrews media person.
- 1:19:08Speaker 1: I don't know. I don't even know. Yeah, that's hard.
- 1:19:10Speaker 1: I don't even know where to start. I don't know
- 1:19:12Speaker 1: the perimeters of what we're asking. I mean, I mean,
- 1:19:15Speaker 1: I always thought about like a trainer. I'd like to
- 1:19:17Speaker 1: be freaking Bill Gates or you know something like that.
- 1:19:20Speaker 1: You know, I'd like to invent the post it. Yeah, no,
- 1:19:23Speaker 1: I mean obviously you know she wouldn't want to be
- 1:19:26Speaker 1: ridiculously successful, right and therefore rich, but like something that
- 1:19:30Speaker 1: you kind of thought about doing but never really pursued. Yeah,
- 1:19:34Speaker 1: I mean I always wanted to go into comedy writing. Yeah,
- 1:19:37Speaker 1: like if I didn't go into like sports and publishing,
- 1:19:39Speaker 1: I would have tried that. Yeah, you know, yeah I
- 1:19:42Speaker 1: liked it and I funny, that's true. But can you
- 1:19:46Speaker 1: write funny? Yeah? Usually the people that can write now
- 1:19:48Speaker 1: depress people. Um, I don't know. I always would like
- 1:19:52Speaker 1: to I hockey coaching hockey I really enjoyed, and I
- 1:19:55Speaker 1: think I'd always like maybe a bakery or like a
- 1:19:58Speaker 1: small like little breakfast restaurant something like that, like running that. Really,
- 1:20:01Speaker 1: I think I'd like to do something like that that's
- 1:20:03Speaker 1: just like simple. I would love to do that, but
- 1:20:06Speaker 1: not the time that it takes to do it. I
- 1:20:08Speaker 1: got to get there, Like like I would love to
- 1:20:11Speaker 1: have a place that was super successful that I could
- 1:20:13Speaker 1: be at for like a couple hours, just gladhanding. I
- 1:20:16Speaker 1: knew everybody like I had a great but you got
- 1:20:20Speaker 1: the best bagels here. Man. But in order to do
- 1:20:22Speaker 1: that success, in order to be successful at that, you
- 1:20:27Speaker 1: got a bus. You spend like eighteen hours a day
- 1:20:29Speaker 1: in the place. Oh yeah, right right now, I'm with you.
- 1:20:32Speaker 1: That's that you're the celebrity. I would love to have
- 1:20:34Speaker 1: like a little coffee shop everybody, Oh Paul's here today. Hey,
- 1:20:38Speaker 1: you know I come up and say hello, fresh muffins,
- 1:20:42Speaker 1: a coffee shop or like a something a popular bar.
- 1:20:46Speaker 1: I wouldn't want to deal with a bar. I wouldn't
- 1:20:47Speaker 1: want to deal with a bar. Well, no, this is
- 1:20:50Speaker 1: like fantasy land. Yeah, I'd rather I'm with friends. Would
- 1:20:52Speaker 1: be better than having a popular bar. I'd have breakfast
- 1:20:56Speaker 1: like Sam Alan with a over your should if the
- 1:20:59Speaker 1: sports going drunk, guys making book in the back room. Yeah,
- 1:21:07Speaker 1: and it's a only a matter of time before Paul
- 1:21:08Speaker 1: Walnuts comes break my legs. Dude, you're living on the edge. Dude.
- 1:21:13Speaker 1: If you could have directed a movie franchise franchise franchise,
- 1:21:17Speaker 1: which would you choose and would you make significant change?
- 1:21:20Speaker 1: Oh wow, that's a good one. Um, I'm just gonna
- 1:21:22Speaker 1: go with with Aliens. I love that. That was my
- 1:21:23Speaker 1: favorite movie grown up. I think, like a good monster movie,
- 1:21:26Speaker 1: a lot of a lot of potential something like that. Yeah,
- 1:21:28Speaker 1: for sure, he goes Star Wars. Well, Star Wars is
- 1:21:30Speaker 1: Star Wars. I mean, I think to get the chance
- 1:21:33Speaker 1: to do what like Jon Favreau is doing right now
- 1:21:35Speaker 1: as like somebody who grew up and making billions of dollars. Well,
- 1:21:38Speaker 1: aside from that, but being able to just you know,
- 1:21:41Speaker 1: having grown up and being such a fan that he
- 1:21:43Speaker 1: is and now being able to take all those things
- 1:21:45Speaker 1: that he loved and make now stuff for us, for
- 1:21:48Speaker 1: the fans. I think that's really really cool too. And
- 1:21:50Speaker 1: I mean I think everybody enjoys those you know, everybody
- 1:21:53Speaker 1: of our generation now that's getting to like experience those
- 1:21:55Speaker 1: Star Wars movies that you know, we grew up it
- 1:21:57Speaker 1: was like three movies, three movies, and now it's you know,
- 1:22:00Speaker 1: growing into this whole universe. So dah. I mean, if
- 1:22:03Speaker 1: I could do something Star Wars, that would be amazing.
- 1:22:05Speaker 1: The Mandalorian forget about it. And Fred if you could
- 1:22:07Speaker 1: tell off a media or NFL person, who would it be, Oh,
- 1:22:11Speaker 1: I know who that would be? Someone in the office. Oh,
- 1:22:15Speaker 1: someone in the NFL office. Oh prob, Yeah, what after
- 1:22:20Speaker 1: defleet Kate? Well, just in general, he's always mad NFL person.
- 1:22:23Speaker 1: Ever since I've known him, he's been in the NFL
- 1:22:25Speaker 1: office crosshairs. I have the X like head of PR
- 1:22:30Speaker 1: for the league, Joe Brown, I'll name his name, sent
- 1:22:34Speaker 1: Jonathan Craft a letter and said I'm a pain in
- 1:22:36Speaker 1: the ass. Well that's I think that's a compliment that. No,
- 1:22:39Speaker 1: he we both laughed over. Yeah, he's a badge of honor.
- 1:22:43Speaker 1: I mean, considering what I know. When Jonathan laughed over, yeah, yeah,
- 1:22:46Speaker 1: that's I mean, the way the hoops they make you
- 1:22:48Speaker 1: jump through, I think you'd want to be a pain
- 1:22:50Speaker 1: in the ass you got pushed back and try to
- 1:22:51Speaker 1: like make it better and stuff. So yeah, that's a
- 1:22:53Speaker 1: good thing. Yeah, that's a good question that what would
- 1:22:56Speaker 1: I want? I don't I don't know what I would
- 1:22:58Speaker 1: want to do. I don't have any skills. Nothing that
- 1:23:04Speaker 1: I'm good at is profitable in any way. What about
- 1:23:06Speaker 1: a TV critic? Yeah, no, they used to remember that
- 1:23:11Speaker 1: Jack Craig, I think his name was not the Sports
- 1:23:13Speaker 1: on TV. Yeah, Sports on TV not not Jack Craig,
- 1:23:16Speaker 1: not the goalie. No, not the goalie, no, no, but
- 1:23:19Speaker 1: the guy that What about Jim Jim Craig. Who's Jim
- 1:23:22Speaker 1: Crai the goalie? Was he a critic? It's a bit,
- 1:23:28Speaker 1: it's a it's amazing. I played so smooth. It's so smooth.
- 1:23:33Speaker 1: I don't want to interrupt. It's a stick. It's perfect,
- 1:23:38Speaker 1: Jack writes in from the website. Later, Ah, it all
- 1:23:43Speaker 1: comes back to transcripts. A listener wrote, asking your predictions
- 1:23:47Speaker 1: for a long shot, who would make the opening roster? Uh,
- 1:23:51Speaker 1: here are my nominations on offense, Trey Nixon on defense,
- 1:23:55Speaker 1: Sam Roberts. What do you think that's I mean, it's
- 1:23:58Speaker 1: nice in theory. I think he he's a rookie at
- 1:24:01Speaker 1: the bottom of the rung right now, trying to learn.
- 1:24:03Speaker 1: And Brandon Schooler, Yeah, special teams, Paul Stick his name, Yeah, perfect,
- 1:24:10Speaker 1: long A getting a lot of work with Bethel and Slater. Yeah.
- 1:24:13Speaker 1: I on Roberts, he was doing a little post session
- 1:24:17Speaker 1: work on Tuesday, so, I mean it just we were
- 1:24:20Speaker 1: down there, so you get just an in depth kind
- 1:24:22Speaker 1: of look at the veterans talking him hand placement here,
- 1:24:26Speaker 1: you know, I mean, he's just like a fifth round pick,
- 1:24:28Speaker 1: right a few years later than that. Six. I think
- 1:24:32Speaker 1: he's six. But he's a big guy. He's a big guy.
- 1:24:35Speaker 1: And you know, for all the the stuff I said
- 1:24:37Speaker 1: about the front seven and you know, defensive line, I
- 1:24:39Speaker 1: mean that he's kind of one of those guys like God,
- 1:24:41Speaker 1: please please somehow work out and be a player, because
- 1:24:44Speaker 1: they could really use that. Speaking of those up front,
- 1:24:47Speaker 1: I have a question, what do you guys, um, what
- 1:24:50Speaker 1: do you guys make a Byron Coward? I'd always been
- 1:24:53Speaker 1: mia for when was the last time he was seen
- 1:24:55Speaker 1: somewhere other than like the Celtics game I saw him.
- 1:24:59Speaker 1: The only time I I saw him was, um, you know,
- 1:25:01Speaker 1: the organization did a great thing um for the young
- 1:25:04Speaker 1: girl who was the cancer survivor, and she came in
- 1:25:07Speaker 1: and he was here. He was one of the players
- 1:25:08Speaker 1: that like went out onto the field with her. And
- 1:25:10Speaker 1: that was like, I haven't seen him in anything, Like
- 1:25:12Speaker 1: he was hurt all of last year, never got on
- 1:25:15Speaker 1: the practice field, right, nothing, And we haven't seen him
- 1:25:18Speaker 1: on the practice field this year. I've seen a ninety
- 1:25:19Speaker 1: nine out there forever. He's just yeah, working out but
- 1:25:24Speaker 1: collecting a chat. Yeah he's still getting a check. Melvin writes,
- 1:25:28Speaker 1: since sweet kid, with all due respect to practice, can
- 1:25:30Speaker 1: someone please slap the hell out of Draymond Green? When
- 1:25:34Speaker 1: did the rest field it's okay to allow players to
- 1:25:36Speaker 1: talk back on every single play, call a tech on Green,
- 1:25:40Speaker 1: watch that leave him, and then when you're done, you
- 1:25:42Speaker 1: can go home. Do you watch that league at all?
- 1:25:45Speaker 1: When bitch but Curry Tatum, they all smart and the
- 1:25:53Speaker 1: flopping is gotten as bad as soccer. It's ridiculous. I mean,
- 1:25:56Speaker 1: it's to the point where like Daniel Tice has something
- 1:25:58Speaker 1: to say to the referee after every play, but I
- 1:26:00Speaker 1: will say something about Green, like the stuff that he
- 1:26:02Speaker 1: does that doesn't get called. It's unbelievable. I didn't even
- 1:26:06Speaker 1: watch the game, and I saw like a highlight of
- 1:26:08Speaker 1: him out off of stuff that he does that doesn't
- 1:26:10Speaker 1: get called. They have videos of it. I mean, like
- 1:26:13Speaker 1: it was one off. I've seen something man handle and yeah,
- 1:26:18Speaker 1: I see I see the same videos and don't see
- 1:26:20Speaker 1: them the same way. Yeah, I don't like I thought
- 1:26:22Speaker 1: that was just And then at they remember they had
- 1:26:24Speaker 1: the big scrum in the fourth quarter, like everybody was
- 1:26:27Speaker 1: on the floor going for that ball and he got
- 1:26:29Speaker 1: you got call for a file for pushing Markus Smart,
- 1:26:32Speaker 1: Al Horford tackled Stefan Steph Curry and there was no
- 1:26:37Speaker 1: call on that, Like, does anybody up in arms? Was
- 1:26:40Speaker 1: the same play? Yeah, but Green was a loose ball
- 1:26:43Speaker 1: throughout the game and he fouled out. That's why I
- 1:26:46Speaker 1: don't watch. He's a jerk. I hate you. I hate
- 1:26:48Speaker 1: Draymond Green, Green and Smart. It's real tough to watch basketball. One.
- 1:26:53Speaker 1: Guys like that are like key parts of their teams
- 1:26:55Speaker 1: like that. Neither one of them does anything like remotely
- 1:26:59Speaker 1: basketball Like. It's just I'm gonna be a total guard
- 1:27:02Speaker 1: than you. You're gonna look at me, you disrespect me
- 1:27:05Speaker 1: like I just I have no use for either one
- 1:27:07Speaker 1: of them. Brad and Adelaide wants to correct my pronunciation
- 1:27:11Speaker 1: of the Australian town. It's Bendigo as an indigo. Well
- 1:27:15Speaker 1: then it would ben Diggo. I don't know, I don't
- 1:27:17Speaker 1: know what did I say ben Diggo? M that's all gentlemen,
- 1:27:21Speaker 1: I miss Eric. Oh, you're the only one, but Eric
- 1:27:26Speaker 1: would have been here to right right. Well, thank you
- 1:27:29Speaker 1: for picking up the mantel. There. Wow pronunciations. Claire. Hello,
- 1:27:35Speaker 1: Hello everyone, I heard you did the Claire podcast. Well
- 1:27:38Speaker 1: a podcast that included Yeah, she was on it, Steve
- 1:27:41Speaker 1: BALISTERI and Murphy Claire. I. I passed along the email,
- 1:27:46Speaker 1: so it's up to him now to respond. I don't
- 1:27:49Speaker 1: know what you're talking about, uh, Claire says, whoa, whoa, whoa.
- 1:27:52Speaker 1: I tuned in late and don't know what's going on.
- 1:27:55Speaker 1: But for the record, I love you guys. You weren't
- 1:27:58Speaker 1: even brought up today. No, No, I don't know what
- 1:28:03Speaker 1: you're talking about. We haven't talked about No, we didn't
- 1:28:07Speaker 1: even talk tight ends. Claire. Yeah, so football with the
- 1:28:11Speaker 1: no fullback, who are you witnessing? Are you witnessing anything
- 1:28:14Speaker 1: at the moment to see where they are going with
- 1:28:17Speaker 1: or without that? Or might it be a little too early.
- 1:28:21Speaker 1: I didn't see anybody play fullback at all. Um. It
- 1:28:26Speaker 1: seems like that that part of the playbook is out
- 1:28:28Speaker 1: of the offense. Although I mean, I don't really remember
- 1:28:30Speaker 1: how much we saw fullback half back kind of stuff
- 1:28:34Speaker 1: and ots. Anyway, that's kind of like a short yardage.
- 1:28:37Speaker 1: I don't even think we ever saw two people in
- 1:28:39Speaker 1: the backfield. No ever, No, I didn't, certainly not Dalton Keene,
- 1:28:43Speaker 1: who seems like the only guy who could maybe well
- 1:28:45Speaker 1: he's also an he's another guy on the limiting list.
- 1:28:48Speaker 1: You know him and Johnny wasn't fullback stuff? You guys
- 1:28:54Speaker 1: are I can't recall two guys in the backfield at
- 1:28:57Speaker 1: once that I can think of. Let's go to the
- 1:29:01Speaker 1: ace ticket hut line. Patty's an agawam, what's up Patty? Gentlemen? Hey,
- 1:29:06Speaker 1: hey buddy. So I had a question, um football question,
- 1:29:13Speaker 1: and I'm practicing this with I know that the cap
- 1:29:17Speaker 1: is kind of crap, but do you guys think if
- 1:29:20Speaker 1: at anywhere between like now in the trade dead line,
- 1:29:24Speaker 1: if Johnny Smith doesn't show signs of marked improvements this
- 1:29:29Speaker 1: coming year when in this offense, do you think they
- 1:29:32Speaker 1: try and move him, even if they have to eat
- 1:29:34Speaker 1: some of his salary for this year and like next
- 1:29:36Speaker 1: year or two. I think it's a good question. I
- 1:29:40Speaker 1: don't know. I think he's looked pretty good. Um, I
- 1:29:42Speaker 1: think he's looked a little better. Who plays in his place?
- 1:29:45Speaker 1: But yeah, that's I hope. My question is it's great
- 1:29:47Speaker 1: if you want to get rid of Devin Asiasi and
- 1:29:49Speaker 1: he blows it up. But I think john who based
- 1:29:52Speaker 1: on the contract that gave him, I think he's I
- 1:29:53Speaker 1: think he's here to stay. I like that he's been
- 1:29:56Speaker 1: here throughout all the OTA practices. He had a nice
- 1:29:58Speaker 1: catch the other day. Um, you know, I just hope
- 1:30:01Speaker 1: he's a little more smoother, maybe a little bit, you know,
- 1:30:03Speaker 1: but I mean maybe it's part connected to mac two. Um,
- 1:30:06Speaker 1: but I kind of am. I'm a little bit optimistic
- 1:30:09Speaker 1: on Jonas Smith and Nelson Agilo. I know that's, like,
- 1:30:11Speaker 1: you know, crazy to even say that, but um but
- 1:30:14Speaker 1: I don't know. I think that they've just looked looked
- 1:30:16Speaker 1: looked a little better to me this year. I just
- 1:30:17Speaker 1: think you need two tight ends And I don't know
- 1:30:19Speaker 1: who the other tight ends are if you get rid
- 1:30:21Speaker 1: of Henry or Smith, and I know, I know they
- 1:30:24Speaker 1: make a lot of money. But yeah, Henry kind of quiet.
- 1:30:29Speaker 1: There's no question he's Yeah, he's been limited him Myers
- 1:30:33Speaker 1: White Peppers like those guys have been out there in
- 1:30:38Speaker 1: uniform but haven't really done much. Yeah. Uh Nicholas from Oslo, Norway,
- 1:30:44Speaker 1: right soon, um, he said, according to Ala. According to
- 1:30:47Speaker 1: NFL dot com, there are two first round picks that
- 1:30:50Speaker 1: are still unsigned, Picket from the Steelers and Cole Strange.
- 1:30:54Speaker 1: Why do you think Strange is not signed yet? Are
- 1:30:56Speaker 1: the Patriots so tight against the cap that they need
- 1:30:59Speaker 1: to rework somebody else's contract in order to have room
- 1:31:01Speaker 1: to sign him? Also, what would happen if a player
- 1:31:04Speaker 1: is unsigned but participates in team activities and gets injured.
- 1:31:09Speaker 1: I think there's probably I mean, I don't know. I
- 1:31:11Speaker 1: think there's probably a boilerplate insurance. Yeah, yeah, thing that
- 1:31:15Speaker 1: these guys sign, like this is what you would have
- 1:31:17Speaker 1: gotten had you been signed already, that kind of thing.
- 1:31:20Speaker 1: I mean, this is a little bit of an aside,
- 1:31:21Speaker 1: but I did see. Gosh, I'm blanking on who the
- 1:31:24Speaker 1: player is, but somebody in the fourth round got like
- 1:31:26Speaker 1: twenty five K more than you're supposed to be slotted, Houston,
- 1:31:30Speaker 1: and so now that's holding everything. It was the second
- 1:31:31Speaker 1: pick of the fourth round, and that's why the fourth
- 1:31:34Speaker 1: round has been slower, and Jack Jones signing was sort
- 1:31:38Speaker 1: of an anomaly in that round. But I do think
- 1:31:41Speaker 1: that they have some money issues right now in terms
- 1:31:43Speaker 1: of having to move some stuff around to get those guys,
- 1:31:45Speaker 1: you know. I mean, they'll get it done though, I mean,
- 1:31:47Speaker 1: it's not a big deal, but I do think they
- 1:31:48Speaker 1: have to make some moves to figure that out. I
- 1:31:51Speaker 1: think they'll have to do some stuff to operate during
- 1:31:53Speaker 1: the season. Yeah, you know, at the very least, like
- 1:31:56Speaker 1: you know, I R and you know, claiming guys off
- 1:31:59Speaker 1: waiver and all that kind of stuff. Once they have
- 1:32:02Speaker 1: to when everybody counts, they'll have some some bookkeeping to do. Um,
- 1:32:07Speaker 1: I know Paul's favorite subject to his special teams. Did
- 1:32:12Speaker 1: we see anything in terms of Marcus Jones taking kicks
- 1:32:17Speaker 1: or anything like that. He's on ice kind of right now.
- 1:32:19Speaker 1: He does warm ups, he's kind of through the walker.
- 1:32:21Speaker 1: He's in a red jersey even Yeah, he's the only
- 1:32:23Speaker 1: one in the red jersey. We did see Jack Jones
- 1:32:25Speaker 1: do some punts, but he had a couple couple drops.
- 1:32:27Speaker 1: It was shaky with him. Kyle Dugger, Paul's guy, was
- 1:32:30Speaker 1: back there a little bit. It's my annual teeth. They
- 1:32:33Speaker 1: put Kyle Dugger back there. He looks smooth as silk,
- 1:32:35Speaker 1: and then you never see him do it again. Yeah,
- 1:32:37Speaker 1: but I'm still hopeful that that Marcus Jones is the
- 1:32:40Speaker 1: guy once we get kick returns. We got a glimpse
- 1:32:44Speaker 1: yesterday for the first time of Pierre Strong, and both
- 1:32:47Speaker 1: Mike and I thought, um, he looked pretty fluid. He's
- 1:32:51Speaker 1: an interesting guy. Interesting guy. I'm real curious to see
- 1:32:54Speaker 1: him with the pads on and to see how big
- 1:32:57Speaker 1: he looks, how fast he really looks. How is he
- 1:32:59Speaker 1: through contact? He's just he's tall, he's high cut, he's fast.
- 1:33:03Speaker 1: I just want you know, how's the stop and go.
- 1:33:05Speaker 1: Is he put a foot in the ground and take
- 1:33:07Speaker 1: off and get through guys, or he's a one cut guy.
- 1:33:10Speaker 1: One cut. But I mean, Harris just looks like a
- 1:33:13Speaker 1: Harris Steven traditional, big thick leg, traditional between the tackles.
- 1:33:19Speaker 1: But to your point, caught a little bit, caught a
- 1:33:21Speaker 1: little bit unexpectedly. I mean we didn't really see much.
- 1:33:24Speaker 1: I don't really remember any any place from from Strong
- 1:33:26Speaker 1: where he caught the ball really at all. No matter
- 1:33:28Speaker 1: of fact, I didn't seem any place from him in
- 1:33:30Speaker 1: the backfield period. But tastes the phone ringing, what's going
- 1:33:35Speaker 1: on back there? Wow, he fell asleep after this guy.
- 1:33:40Speaker 1: Phone's ringing, people hanging up and he's on his phone.
- 1:33:46Speaker 1: Where's Matt today? His kid got sick and his wife's working,
- 1:33:52Speaker 1: so he had to go home and it's going around. Yeah,
- 1:33:54Speaker 1: the cold this week. I have a look at that
- 1:33:57Speaker 1: stuff at the same again with COVID like you feel
- 1:33:59Speaker 1: like you're he gets a cold and you're like, great,
- 1:34:01Speaker 1: now he's gonna have a little cough, and anywhere I go,
- 1:34:03Speaker 1: everyone's gonna be like you gotta get a doctor's note. Yeah,
- 1:34:07Speaker 1: Justin writes in um at last we got rid of Scalavino.
- 1:34:12Speaker 1: Just kidding, hope he does well. Everything that we've seen
- 1:34:15Speaker 1: so far doesn't tell us as much as we think.
- 1:34:17Speaker 1: I think we all. I think we'll know a little
- 1:34:20Speaker 1: more and have a feel for where we are after
- 1:34:23Speaker 1: training camp is over. Right, Yeah, we will know more.
- 1:34:27Speaker 1: So if we get more information we'll know, we'll then
- 1:34:30Speaker 1: no more. Right. Okay? Do you think that Patricia was
- 1:34:34Speaker 1: moonlighting as an offensive coordinator apprentice last year? Just a thought?
- 1:34:39Speaker 1: I don't, Paul. I'm glad to see you agree with
- 1:34:43Speaker 1: Mike more often. Lastly, have you guys seen the Offer?
- 1:34:47Speaker 1: I think it's a prime movie about the backstory I'm
- 1:34:50Speaker 1: making of the Godfile, and I might have to watch that.
- 1:34:53Speaker 1: I get some things in my queue. Is it a
- 1:34:55Speaker 1: documentary or is it just a movie documentary style? I
- 1:35:00Speaker 1: I don't know a tremendous amount about it, but yeah,
- 1:35:03Speaker 1: I think it's one of those kind of movie document
- 1:35:05Speaker 1: and I have to ask me Tis this question because
- 1:35:07Speaker 1: I know he's up on it. What's the deal with
- 1:35:09Speaker 1: Black Adam? Is that going to be a good movie?
- 1:35:12Speaker 1: We got wet thumbs down. Really, I heard it's the
- 1:35:16Speaker 1: only movie superhero movie made in the last like ten
- 1:35:21Speaker 1: years or so without any CGI. Really. Yeah, I was
- 1:35:25Speaker 1: gonna say, this seems like they're just ripping out these
- 1:35:28Speaker 1: CGI action movies now with like Ryan Reynolds. There's a
- 1:35:30Speaker 1: new one each month that is shot like on a
- 1:35:33Speaker 1: sound stage with greens. How do you do that? Just
- 1:35:36Speaker 1: a lot of effects? Yeah, yeah, Yeah, it's gonna be
- 1:35:40Speaker 1: expensive though, that's the thing and dangerous, right yeah, you
- 1:35:42Speaker 1: gotta do all that, put it all together and coordinate
- 1:35:45Speaker 1: it and and will it be as good? I mean,
- 1:35:48Speaker 1: CGI is so good now. Yeah, I was gonna say,
- 1:35:50Speaker 1: you guys misunderstood, like obviously, like there was a show
- 1:35:53Speaker 1: in the fifties that was Superman and he was flying,
- 1:35:56Speaker 1: but you know you can actually see the wires connected
- 1:35:58Speaker 1: to it, right, I meant, how do you do it
- 1:36:01Speaker 1: and have it look anything like what we're used to seeing? Right? Yeah?
- 1:36:05Speaker 1: Well that's why I mean to go back to like
- 1:36:06Speaker 1: Mandalorian and Favria, like I think they're doing those movies great,
- 1:36:09Speaker 1: like you, some of it's practical, but it's real hard
- 1:36:11Speaker 1: to see the lines. Like when you went back to
- 1:36:13Speaker 1: the prequels, Like those movies, it's like, oh, this is
- 1:36:15Speaker 1: so computer generated. There's just a guy standing there in
- 1:36:18Speaker 1: front of a screen. But like now, they've really done
- 1:36:21Speaker 1: a lot of improvements on that stuff and it doesn't
- 1:36:23Speaker 1: take you out of it, out of it as much
- 1:36:25Speaker 1: as it used to. Claire's in the UK and she's
- 1:36:28Speaker 1: calling it, Oh now wait on the other line. Okay,
- 1:36:34Speaker 1: that was hard, Claire, what's up? It's been a while. Oh.
- 1:36:43Speaker 1: I tuned in a little bit late and it was
- 1:36:46Speaker 1: when Paul was talking about somebody had caught commented in
- 1:36:49Speaker 1: the male bag and then someone could side do some
- 1:36:52Speaker 1: repeating sis, WHOA, what's doing on? You're saying just generally
- 1:36:57Speaker 1: I got you, Yeah, it was just generally what it Wow?
- 1:37:00Speaker 1: It was like, this is all really negative. And I
- 1:37:02Speaker 1: like it when people criticize that means they care. Yeah,
- 1:37:05Speaker 1: I like it when when it's valid. There's a lot
- 1:37:08Speaker 1: of things to criticize the ball, but like you know,
- 1:37:10Speaker 1: not providing transcripts for player interviews, it's not one of them.
- 1:37:16Speaker 1: Oh yeah, see that that's that's kind of a bit
- 1:37:18Speaker 1: that I mean. And I wanted to ask you and
- 1:37:20Speaker 1: in regard to the coaching, fred, I asked you if
- 1:37:24Speaker 1: you thought that the next heir apparent was in the building.
- 1:37:28Speaker 1: In regard to the Patriots coaching, I know that you
- 1:37:32Speaker 1: said that, Jonathan, and it was Robert's like kind of decision.
- 1:37:35Speaker 1: I appreciate that. I wanted to sort oppose the question
- 1:37:37Speaker 1: to do Paul as well if they thought the next
- 1:37:40Speaker 1: head coaches in the building. But the other thing was
- 1:37:42Speaker 1: in regard to do you think perhaps or do you
- 1:37:45Speaker 1: all think perhaps that the air apparent is Josh McDaniels
- 1:37:49Speaker 1: and he's kind of been moved along for a little
- 1:37:52Speaker 1: while to you know, build a piece of strength in Vegas,
- 1:37:56Speaker 1: and then when the torch has passed to Jonathan Craft,
- 1:38:00Speaker 1: maybe Jonathan will have Josh back as he's head coach.
- 1:38:03Speaker 1: It was just something that was spitballing and just wondered
- 1:38:05Speaker 1: what opinion was. And I'll take your office, I think
- 1:38:08Speaker 1: so much. I don't I don't really see it with McDaniels.
- 1:38:12Speaker 1: I mean, I think it could be Mayo. I think
- 1:38:14Speaker 1: that would that would that would make sense. But I
- 1:38:18Speaker 1: don't think the next coach is in the building. Yeah,
- 1:38:20Speaker 1: that was I think that's my guess, Mayo, because I
- 1:38:24Speaker 1: think somebody else if we end up with a situation
- 1:38:28Speaker 1: where you need another coach, I think it's going to
- 1:38:31Speaker 1: be something happened. No, they just canceled the other OTA
- 1:38:34Speaker 1: next week, so we're done. We're done until training camp.
- 1:38:37Speaker 1: I figured that was going to happen too. Oh, that
- 1:38:39Speaker 1: happens a lot, yes, Like when you have that carry
- 1:38:42Speaker 1: over your OTA, and I don't. I just got a
- 1:38:47Speaker 1: vibe when they were out there forever that they had
- 1:38:50Speaker 1: a little bit more to do and they were getting
- 1:38:53Speaker 1: it done yesterday. That might be completely off, you know,
- 1:38:56Speaker 1: like we always try to why do they do things,
- 1:38:58Speaker 1: and we're never right right. That's probably the latest thing
- 1:39:01Speaker 1: that we're not right about. But I just got a
- 1:39:02Speaker 1: vibe yesterday. They're out here an awful long time. It
- 1:39:06Speaker 1: was so funny. I'm driving in and I'm listening to
- 1:39:09Speaker 1: one of Paul's shows and the word comes around, uh oh,
- 1:39:13Speaker 1: patriots of canceled practice, and they're like, oh, they're getting
- 1:39:17Speaker 1: soft in Foxborro. Can you ever remember them canceling? It's
- 1:39:22Speaker 1: raining and I can't give you the dates and they were.
- 1:39:24Speaker 1: But yes, I can remember, and they're blaming it on
- 1:39:26Speaker 1: the it's raining and they're canceling practice. I think the
- 1:39:31Speaker 1: weather was part of it today, well but part of it.
- 1:39:34Speaker 1: But as we know, the only time they go inside
- 1:39:37Speaker 1: is extreme conditions. It was, but they don't pre you know,
- 1:39:41Speaker 1: but we also know like at the end of many
- 1:39:43Speaker 1: camps in the past, he's either shortened it or canceled.
- 1:39:47Speaker 1: You're right, and you're absolutely right, they've done it. The
- 1:39:50Speaker 1: other the other funny part of it was that Belichick
- 1:39:53Speaker 1: spent like the whole practice, said they talking to defensive
- 1:39:58Speaker 1: coordinated from Utah State, I mean animated, like doing the
- 1:40:02Speaker 1: things with the arms like outside like I mean the
- 1:40:05Speaker 1: whole time, the whole it was. It was over like
- 1:40:08Speaker 1: the majority of practice really is well over an hour. Like, yeah,
- 1:40:13Speaker 1: they were just talking on the sideline. You know how
- 1:40:15Speaker 1: we've been like monitoring where Bill is in practice. Yeah,
- 1:40:18Speaker 1: well yesterday that was on the sideline talking to some
- 1:40:21Speaker 1: other guy. Maybe he's the next head coach. That's what
- 1:40:23Speaker 1: it seemed like yesterday. It's not Bill's decision, he's he's
- 1:40:27Speaker 1: putting him out there. Well, maybe it's John bon Jovi.
- 1:40:30Speaker 1: Then too. He was there there. I'll never get used
- 1:40:33Speaker 1: to that one. He was up in the office. Yes,
- 1:40:35Speaker 1: it was funny. He was right outside. He was right
- 1:40:37Speaker 1: outside your office. Yeah, yeah, John bon Jovi, Yeah, Robert
- 1:40:41Speaker 1: and Smoke perfume. Robert and John bon Jovi were like
- 1:40:45Speaker 1: right outside Josh Craft's office, really next to you, was I.
- 1:40:49Speaker 1: So I walk out and I'm going into the kitchen,
- 1:40:52Speaker 1: because where else do I go. I get my diet
- 1:40:54Speaker 1: pepsi and Duce happened to me in the kitchen. I'm
- 1:40:56Speaker 1: going and I'm giving him one this and he had
- 1:41:00Speaker 1: already seen them, and I started thinking, like, you know
- 1:41:02Speaker 1: how my my wife has like an enormous crush. Yeah,
- 1:41:04Speaker 1: John bun Jolie. So I was like, all right, he's
- 1:41:08Speaker 1: like right there, I should go. Like, but I'm like,
- 1:41:11Speaker 1: if they come this way, I'm saying something to Robert, Yeah,
- 1:41:15Speaker 1: I'm not going to go on the other side, like
- 1:41:17Speaker 1: because I would have had to go on the other
- 1:41:18Speaker 1: side of opposite of where we were going. And then
- 1:41:20Speaker 1: they went the other way, of course, but he was
- 1:41:22Speaker 1: literally ten feet away rock star. Like, how many times
- 1:41:26Speaker 1: do you just go out of your office and there's
- 1:41:27Speaker 1: like a rock star? No, and I was talking to
- 1:41:29Speaker 1: one of the most powerful talking to one of the
- 1:41:32Speaker 1: people on our staff, Emma, and I said, you know,
- 1:41:33Speaker 1: were you out there? Did you see John Bun? Joey's
- 1:41:36Speaker 1: like yeah, I go. Isn't it weird when you see
- 1:41:39Speaker 1: somebody like that in person? You know, like you see
- 1:41:42Speaker 1: him a million times on TV and he's so small,
- 1:41:44Speaker 1: but when you see them in person, it's just like weird.
- 1:41:48Speaker 1: It's like it is, Yeah, it happened to me a
- 1:41:50Speaker 1: lot in LA. When you see somebody famous, you have
- 1:41:52Speaker 1: this initial instinct that you know them, like that there's
- 1:41:54Speaker 1: someone from your past that you know, and then you
- 1:41:56Speaker 1: were like, I don't know them. They're a famous person,
- 1:41:58Speaker 1: right right? That kind of weird. It's like immediately know,
- 1:42:01Speaker 1: like like something happens in your brain. You don't never
- 1:42:04Speaker 1: know who it was. Yeah, that's jump on Jovi. No,
- 1:42:06Speaker 1: But did Emma know who that it was? Oh? Absolutely?
- 1:42:09Speaker 1: Oh yeah yeah because they're young. Yeah. Yeah. There's a
- 1:42:13Speaker 1: new game show that actually addresses exactly what we're talking
- 1:42:15Speaker 1: what's called generation gap, and they have older people and
- 1:42:18Speaker 1: younger so like they'll show the younger people like TV
- 1:42:21Speaker 1: shows and they have to guess like who it is.
- 1:42:24Speaker 1: I guess or something Seinfeld who's Olivia Rodrigo and to
- 1:42:27Speaker 1: go around and around. Yeah, I got it, I got it.
- 1:42:29Speaker 1: I'd be great at that game because I'm anas. I'm
- 1:42:32Speaker 1: a renaissance man, right, you know what. And Peyton Manning,
- 1:42:35Speaker 1: I guess, is an executive producer of a new game show.
- 1:42:38Speaker 1: Good for him, Yeah, standing involved. So I would think
- 1:42:42Speaker 1: being in LA that like that yesterday, that's nothing for you,
- 1:42:45Speaker 1: like that, that's your that was your whole life rock
- 1:42:46Speaker 1: stars though, Like when I when I was in LA,
- 1:42:49Speaker 1: I spent like that that one week. Yeah, and you
- 1:42:52Speaker 1: would just and I was with some people that lived
- 1:42:55Speaker 1: in LA and I'd be like, Hey, isn't that the
- 1:42:57Speaker 1: kid from Head of the Head of the Class? Yeah,
- 1:42:59Speaker 1: like that's how long ago, the early nineties, and and
- 1:43:02Speaker 1: he's like yeah, yeah, yeah, he's there all the time
- 1:43:05Speaker 1: like it's nothing to them. And I'm sure it was
- 1:43:07Speaker 1: nothing to you, but not even at work, just in
- 1:43:10Speaker 1: your regular life. Right. But but there's a difference between
- 1:43:13Speaker 1: the guy who's on Head of the Class and John
- 1:43:14Speaker 1: Budge over, you know, like like that's like with that one,
- 1:43:16Speaker 1: it's like this is a mega Rocks. So I get it.
- 1:43:18Speaker 1: I get it you see like a star as opposed
- 1:43:21Speaker 1: to a guy who was on a show, right, and
- 1:43:22Speaker 1: there's there's a difference, you know, Remember I mean I
- 1:43:25Speaker 1: told the Adam Sandler's story before Get ended Ump in
- 1:43:27Speaker 1: an ice cream shop of Malibu, Like that was one
- 1:43:30Speaker 1: for me. That was just like, you know, I had
- 1:43:31Speaker 1: a Patriot's hat on. He started talking to me about it. Um.
- 1:43:34Speaker 1: A lot of them were work associated though that you know,
- 1:43:37Speaker 1: you're meeting these people briefly and chatting with them. But
- 1:43:39Speaker 1: I just think it's where it's like those old ESPN
- 1:43:41Speaker 1: commercials where you like you're in the office and like
- 1:43:44Speaker 1: you know, mister met walks down the like you just
- 1:43:47Speaker 1: you're right, you like, I don't write I've never gotten
- 1:43:50Speaker 1: used to over twenty years here that you're like you
- 1:43:53Speaker 1: walk out of your office and Andre Tippett's over there.
- 1:43:55Speaker 1: Guy's in the Hall of Fame. Yeah, and he's like
- 1:43:57Speaker 1: he has an office. Like opposite I get it with
- 1:43:59Speaker 1: Robert Craft is walking through the hall. You just go
- 1:44:01Speaker 1: down the hall and I look down and you know
- 1:44:02Speaker 1: there's just this little old guy walking by like that's
- 1:44:05Speaker 1: Robert Crowd. You know, it's still that's still here's your boss.
- 1:44:07Speaker 1: I know that's still I still, you know, still very
- 1:44:11Speaker 1: rich and powerful man, A handsome, handsome man. Handsome too Listen,
- 1:44:14Speaker 1: I hope I'm like that one on his age tell
- 1:44:17Speaker 1: you that much. But so bon Jovie was outside my office?
- 1:44:20Speaker 1: What were they doing? Just walking around? Were they like,
- 1:44:23Speaker 1: you know, the acoustic sett living on the little bit
- 1:44:28Speaker 1: of performing for the admin level? I wish were like
- 1:44:32Speaker 1: everybody like looking over there, don't don't don't know, I
- 1:44:36Speaker 1: don't don't know, but we're like people like peeking around
- 1:44:38Speaker 1: corners and stuff. Everyone was a head down pretty much,
- 1:44:41Speaker 1: but I'm not sure how many people noticed that he
- 1:44:43Speaker 1: was there, Like who's that old lady? But like, why
- 1:44:46Speaker 1: were they even in that neck of the woods. He
- 1:44:49Speaker 1: comes up a lot. I mean, how many times about Jovie.
- 1:44:51Speaker 1: Doesn't it seem like I feel like he's been here
- 1:44:53Speaker 1: at least three before? You you meant, like in that
- 1:44:55Speaker 1: part of the why would they in our part of
- 1:44:58Speaker 1: the office, right, the admin level, because Robert's not in
- 1:45:00Speaker 1: our part of the building. Very offen, Right, maybe you
- 1:45:03Speaker 1: don't meet Josh maybe, oh maybe I don't think Josh
- 1:45:05Speaker 1: was here though, oh just going through stuff? Maybe, Wow,
- 1:45:09Speaker 1: that's exciting. It was pretty cool. Yeah, I missed. I
- 1:45:12Speaker 1: missed that all. I don't know where I was bringing
- 1:45:14Speaker 1: back to the bullpen a little. Those are the first
- 1:45:16Speaker 1: two CDs I ever bought Slipperio in New Jersey. Really no, wowe,
- 1:45:21Speaker 1: what was the first season you bought CD? Yeah? I
- 1:45:25Speaker 1: was back with album You're in like your thirties. Yeah,
- 1:45:28Speaker 1: I couldn't tell you. I don't know if I ever
- 1:45:29Speaker 1: bought a CD. The first album I have a first album,
- 1:45:33Speaker 1: I didn't buy anything. The first album I was given
- 1:45:36Speaker 1: for my birthday was Yellow Brick Road Elton John Oh, yeah, classic.
- 1:45:40Speaker 1: I can't remember the first album I had either, but
- 1:45:42Speaker 1: I had a million. Oh yeah, you guys never did
- 1:45:46Speaker 1: like Columbia House that like did I did do that?
- 1:45:49Speaker 1: And I got actually I got cassettes. Yeah at the time,
- 1:45:52Speaker 1: such a ripple. Oh yeah, because like like you know,
- 1:45:55Speaker 1: you get twelve for a pen one okay, so there's
- 1:45:58Speaker 1: twelve you alike, and then every month you have to
- 1:46:00Speaker 1: do it and there's nothing you'll like. Yeah, there's nothing
- 1:46:03Speaker 1: you like. And people get in trouble with them because
- 1:46:05Speaker 1: they keep sending you stuff and you never might want
- 1:46:07Speaker 1: them for Yeah. My my my mother is the one
- 1:46:11Speaker 1: she was like, you know, we can do this, and
- 1:46:12Speaker 1: as long as you like a song like on an
- 1:46:16Speaker 1: album or you know, we'll we'll just get it. Like
- 1:46:19Speaker 1: you don't have to like the group, you don't have
- 1:46:20Speaker 1: to like a lot of songs, but there's one song
- 1:46:23Speaker 1: and you'll listen to it, then you'll get it. And
- 1:46:25Speaker 1: her idea was, you'll listen to the album and you'll
- 1:46:27Speaker 1: like other songs, right, And it worked because there's a
- 1:46:30Speaker 1: lot of a lot of things that I got like
- 1:46:31Speaker 1: that that, Yeah, I liked this song and didn't really
- 1:46:34Speaker 1: know many of the others, and all of a sudden,
- 1:46:36Speaker 1: I was a big fan of the whole album. Yeah.
- 1:46:38Speaker 1: I tried it maybe a couple of times, and it
- 1:46:40Speaker 1: never worked out for me. Yeah, people are to try
- 1:46:43Speaker 1: to scam it a lot. I remember trying to, like
- 1:46:45Speaker 1: people trying to get the twelve and then you then
- 1:46:47Speaker 1: you quit. Yeah, but you're not allowed to quit, right,
- 1:46:49Speaker 1: and you're not a lot like those things are impossible
- 1:46:52Speaker 1: to quit to talk about something that just doesn't exist anymore, Like, yeah,
- 1:46:56Speaker 1: that whole thing that's good, that's unfortunate. Yeah that you know,
- 1:46:59Speaker 1: you just go on line and you're down, you know whatever, Well,
- 1:47:03Speaker 1: is it I mean it's pretty cool, I think, you know.
- 1:47:06Speaker 1: I I remember remember when the first iPod came out,
- 1:47:10Speaker 1: not iPhone, iPod, you know four that was the greatest thing.
- 1:47:15Speaker 1: I still because like as recently as like three years ago. Yeah,
- 1:47:23Speaker 1: I haven't the wheel, yeah yeah, And I had a
- 1:47:26Speaker 1: huge playlist in it, right, and it just was easier
- 1:47:29Speaker 1: for me to use that. It was really small, it
- 1:47:31Speaker 1: fit easily. Yeah, but what better than that, you know,
- 1:47:34Speaker 1: And now it's all on your phone. That's what those
- 1:47:38Speaker 1: obviously for when you're outside. And I would much prefer
- 1:47:41Speaker 1: like the old I mean it's not as it's different.
- 1:47:44Speaker 1: The sound is different, but like people just have their
- 1:47:46Speaker 1: phones and stuff like, it's not the same. Well, if
- 1:47:49Speaker 1: you if you bluetooth your phone to nice speakers, then
- 1:47:52Speaker 1: it does sound right, you know. Yeah, you know so.
- 1:47:56Speaker 1: But audio files, real audio files even think that that,
- 1:48:00Speaker 1: you know, because you lose something in digital that they
- 1:48:03Speaker 1: think that you still haven't vinyl. It's you know, so
- 1:48:06Speaker 1: the digitally remastered, Yeah, the real audio files. Some of
- 1:48:11Speaker 1: them still prefer vinyl. I like the old vinyl. Yeah,
- 1:48:16Speaker 1: maybe thinking about getting an old record player. Just got
- 1:48:19Speaker 1: a couple. I don't care that much about it. But
- 1:48:22Speaker 1: I do remember. It's probably just because it's a connection
- 1:48:24Speaker 1: to my youth that I liked that way. Yeah. Yeah,
- 1:48:27Speaker 1: but which old glasshouses remember, like you know you do
- 1:48:30Speaker 1: it all have like the the stereo where you stack
- 1:48:33Speaker 1: the albums and you know, like you play one side
- 1:48:37Speaker 1: and then the other one would PLoP down down. I
- 1:48:39Speaker 1: would do my homework like the worst thing for the
- 1:48:41Speaker 1: vinyl because you know, you're scratching it and everything. Fifth sixth,
- 1:48:44Speaker 1: seventh grade. I would sit at my desk by myself
- 1:48:47Speaker 1: in my room and I'd have like three albums like that,
- 1:48:49Speaker 1: and I'd do my homework. Yeah, probably explains a lot
- 1:48:52Speaker 1: about my slacker nature as a student. But like why
- 1:48:55Speaker 1: I'm here. That whole thing is if you like the
- 1:48:57Speaker 1: B side of the album, you're out of lot. You
- 1:48:59Speaker 1: can only play one side of every album at a
- 1:49:01Speaker 1: time and you flip them over. But you kind of
- 1:49:05Speaker 1: want to listen to the whole album, yeah, and then
- 1:49:08Speaker 1: go to the next album. You know, it's a lost art.
- 1:49:10Speaker 1: If you wanted to do that, you could do eight
- 1:49:12Speaker 1: tracks because they would just in the middle of the
- 1:49:15Speaker 1: cycle through. Well do you remember, like do you ever?
- 1:49:19Speaker 1: So you never listened to eight tracks? Here? Was the
- 1:49:21Speaker 1: worst thing about an eight track. So you used to
- 1:49:23Speaker 1: have like they have like four sides, like for lack
- 1:49:27Speaker 1: of a better term, sections, four sections, and some of
- 1:49:30Speaker 1: the songs would cut between like two and three, right,
- 1:49:33Speaker 1: like the same song, so like the Desert Highway, that's
- 1:49:40Speaker 1: not an exaggeration right right in the middle of it. Yeah,
- 1:49:42Speaker 1: And I was like why, Like, even as a kid,
- 1:49:44Speaker 1: I was like, why wouldn't they just make sure that
- 1:49:47Speaker 1: an entire song fit right before they went to the
- 1:49:49Speaker 1: next one. Yeah. Yeah, but that would happen, and you'd
- 1:49:53Speaker 1: see like it would have like the contents on the
- 1:49:56Speaker 1: on the on the it would be like one, you know, uh,
- 1:49:59Speaker 1: play the game game. You know, we are the champions. Two,
- 1:50:02Speaker 1: Uh you know, we will rock you. Three, we will
- 1:50:05Speaker 1: rock you continued. Right, It's like, why is it why
- 1:50:09Speaker 1: eight tracks didn't last long? Because and they were awful? Yeah, awful.
- 1:50:13Speaker 1: And then with tapes you eventually got the ability to
- 1:50:15Speaker 1: fast forward and have it stop in between songs. Remember
- 1:50:18Speaker 1: that that cassette you could do that. You can't do
- 1:50:21Speaker 1: that on yeah tracks. That was the drawback of an
- 1:50:23Speaker 1: eight track is you had to let it play through.
- 1:50:26Speaker 1: You could click between one, two, three, four, so if
- 1:50:29Speaker 1: you were in one and you wanted to go to two,
- 1:50:30Speaker 1: you could just click the thing and you go to two,
- 1:50:33Speaker 1: but you'd miss a song, like you couldn't fast forward
- 1:50:36Speaker 1: through a song that you didn't like to get to
- 1:50:38Speaker 1: the next one. Do you think people still make mixtapes
- 1:50:40Speaker 1: for other people? Does that still happen? That was just past?
- 1:50:44Speaker 1: Yeah now, but is that still a thing? That was
- 1:50:46Speaker 1: when you would like make a mix for somebody, but
- 1:50:48Speaker 1: you said, hey, I'm going to send you a playlist.
- 1:50:49Speaker 1: Doesn't that suff Okay? Did you used to spend send?
- 1:50:54Speaker 1: Was that you? Was that your Was that your power move? No?
- 1:50:56Speaker 1: I don't know if it's a power move. It was
- 1:50:58Speaker 1: my life. Okay, Paul might remember one, remember but to
- 1:51:02Speaker 1: your girl? Oh yeah. Love songs? I remember back with
- 1:51:04Speaker 1: records albums um they'd have the commercial and it was
- 1:51:09Speaker 1: like the ron Tell and it was all the best songs.
- 1:51:13Speaker 1: But some of them were yeah k Tell. Some of
- 1:51:16Speaker 1: them were the original artists, but others were like cover songs,
- 1:51:19Speaker 1: this this other band song I got. I got a
- 1:51:22Speaker 1: few of those and they're not bad because it's like
- 1:51:26Speaker 1: all like you know, for someone like me like Fred
- 1:51:29Speaker 1: probably wouldn't like it. Because Fred was more of a
- 1:51:31Speaker 1: like a rock they were. They were all really poppy songs.
- 1:51:35Speaker 1: They were like compilations they were, but they were top
- 1:51:37Speaker 1: forty songs. Ye, so you get. I would get, like,
- 1:51:40Speaker 1: you know, an album with like twenty songs on it,
- 1:51:42Speaker 1: and I liked every song because they were all top four.
- 1:51:45Speaker 1: You had to be careful some of the original artists.
- 1:51:47Speaker 1: Some weren't, you know, I remember getting the one that
- 1:51:51Speaker 1: that wasn't h oh. Yeah, yeah, they had they had.
- 1:51:54Speaker 1: It doesn't sound quite right, yeah, a little bit off. Yeah,
- 1:51:57Speaker 1: it's just it's all changed so much from like I mean,
- 1:52:00Speaker 1: it's like going to the Strawberries, this kid, you have
- 1:52:02Speaker 1: no idea, like how do you know what to buy?
- 1:52:04Speaker 1: And I mean even the existence of Shazam, I still
- 1:52:07Speaker 1: can't believe that there's something that can just hold your
- 1:52:09Speaker 1: phone up and listen to a song and it tells
- 1:52:11Speaker 1: you what it is like. There were so many times where, God,
- 1:52:13Speaker 1: I love this song, please say what it was like
- 1:52:15Speaker 1: At the radio, You're listening to the DJ, and if
- 1:52:17Speaker 1: he doesn't, just goes into another song, Like is that
- 1:52:20Speaker 1: what Reest does to get the lists at practice? I
- 1:52:22Speaker 1: don't know, but or just someone give him. I don't know,
- 1:52:25Speaker 1: but Jerry Thornton got him. I think it was yesterday. Yeah, people,
- 1:52:29Speaker 1: one of the people, one of the wrong yeah again
- 1:52:32Speaker 1: yeah behind O'Reilly right yeah right right right? Yeah, he
- 1:52:36Speaker 1: mean he got it wrong today Jerry Jerry Thornton called
- 1:52:39Speaker 1: him out, not tired, not take How did Jerry know
- 1:52:42Speaker 1: he made a mistake because he was there? He was
- 1:52:44Speaker 1: there because we were there. Yeah, he read the list.
- 1:52:46Speaker 1: It's like, why was Jerry there, credential member of the media. Yeah,
- 1:52:50Speaker 1: so who who's on the side barstool? He works for Barstool. Oh,
- 1:52:54Speaker 1: I didn't know that, Yeah I was. I was saying
- 1:52:56Speaker 1: he didn't know that. It's worked there for years. I
- 1:53:00Speaker 1: know that you don't watch his knee jerk. I don't
- 1:53:02Speaker 1: do anything. I think it's pretty well known that I
- 1:53:05Speaker 1: don't do anything with Barston. That's true. You've showed bar school. Yeah,
- 1:53:09Speaker 1: after their child pornography. I decided to take a stand.
- 1:53:12Speaker 1: That's fine. I respect that. I respect that, um Patrick
- 1:53:17Speaker 1: says them. For some reason, I feel like Jonathan is
- 1:53:21Speaker 1: going to make a run at Mike Vrabel once Bill
- 1:53:24Speaker 1: is no longer the coach, just out of curiosity. Is
- 1:53:28Speaker 1: these people the coaches of their current teams at the time. Yes,
- 1:53:31Speaker 1: and we're just going to take them because we're the Patriots. Yeah,
- 1:53:35Speaker 1: which could. I'm not saying that that's a deal breaker. Josh.
- 1:53:38Speaker 1: Your time at the Raiders has done come back. I mean,
- 1:53:41Speaker 1: like a lot of people think Sean Payton, Yeah, you
- 1:53:44Speaker 1: know that was the whole thing with New Orleans is
- 1:53:46Speaker 1: that he was going to go and become Miami's coach. Rum.
- 1:53:49Speaker 1: A lot of people for years of speculated Dallas for Sean.
- 1:53:52Speaker 1: So I'm not telling you it can't happen. I just
- 1:53:55Speaker 1: curious as to people if they think those guys are
- 1:53:57Speaker 1: going to wash out where they are and be available
- 1:53:59Speaker 1: or we're gonna trade for him at what point? And
- 1:54:02Speaker 1: that's why I don't see career. I see Josh, because
- 1:54:04Speaker 1: if Josh becomes available after falling flat on his face
- 1:54:07Speaker 1: with that, I think Josh want to do that. Yeah.
- 1:54:09Speaker 1: I don't want to say zero percent, because you could
- 1:54:11Speaker 1: trade for him, he could be successful. But I think
- 1:54:14Speaker 1: if he gets fired from the Raiders, you're not gonna
- 1:54:16Speaker 1: want him, right, yep, yep, all right, listen, Yeah, we're
- 1:54:21Speaker 1: gonna be done. Thanks to everyone for listening. Um, Sorry,
